The Ben Shapiro Show - Blaming Trump For Antifa And BLM | Ep. 1085

00:00:00.000 A Trump supporter is shot to death in Portland while the media and Democrats blame Trump, Wisconsin officials beg President Trump not to visit, and members of the left continue to defend looting and rioting.

00:00:09.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.

00:00:10.000 This is the Ben Shapiro Show.

00:00:12.000 The Ben Shapiro Show is sponsored by ExpressVPN.

00:00:20.000 Why haven't you gotten a VPN yet?

00:00:22.000 Visit ExpressVPN.com slash Ben.

00:00:25.000 Well, every weekend, I beg you, please stop burning down the country.

00:00:28.000 And no one apparently takes me up on it.

00:00:30.000 And frankly, I'm getting a little irritated with the situation.

00:00:32.000 It feels like probably you should take me up on it.

00:00:34.000 I mean, like, what's so difficult about this?

00:00:36.000 Stop burning down the country.

00:00:37.000 Of course, I'm mostly addressing myself at this point to very specific groups of people.

00:00:42.000 When we talk about people who are burning down the country, I am not talking about all the people that the media are talking about, because the people the media are talking about are not the ones who are actually burning down the country right now.

00:00:51.000 The people who are burning down the country in Portland, the people who are doing it in Seattle, the people who have been doing it in places like Chicago and Washington D.C.

00:00:58.000 and Los Angeles and New York and Kenosha, those people are not white nationalists.

00:01:03.000 They are not. 1.00

00:01:04.000 White nationalists are evil. 1.00

00:01:05.000 They are terrible. 1.00

00:01:06.000 They are the worst people on planet Earth. 1.00

00:01:08.000 They are awful. 1.00

00:01:09.000 I've been their chief target many, many times. 0.98

00:01:11.000 So believe you me, when I say that these are the worst people on Earth, I mean it.

00:01:15.000 Literally, I've had white nationalists arrested by the FBI for targeting me and my family. 0.93

00:01:20.000 So this is not about the white nationalists.

00:01:22.000 This is about the fact that for months on end, the media have been soft peddling and pretending that Antifa and Black Lives Matter rioters and looters, doesn't mean everybody who's gone to a BLM protest is a rioter or a looter, but there are many members of BLM who are in fact rioters and looters, have been let off the hook by the media for the vast amounts of violence they've been doing in American cities, and this has been going on for months on end.

00:01:43.000 If there were a Tea Party rally that once broke out into violence the way the BLM Marches seem to continue to do regularly. 0.97

00:01:51.000 If there were a right-wing agitating group that glommed on to any sort of conservative protest and then went and did violence against the police officers, the media would immediately lump everybody together and they would say that this is the outgrowth of a right-wing movement.

00:02:05.000 But as soon as it is left-wing or a cause the media agrees with, then suddenly it disappears.

00:02:09.000 It's not happening at all.

00:02:11.000 Is it?

00:02:11.000 Like, it really isn't.

00:02:13.000 Apparently, it's all a figment of your imagination.

00:02:15.000 Now, you may be watching the goings-on across the country, and you may be thinking to yourself, wait a second.

00:02:19.000 Hasn't this stuff been going on for a while?

00:02:21.000 Like, haven't we seen riots in L.A.?

00:02:24.000 Like, the first week of the Black Lives Matter protests, didn't we see riots in Los Angeles, in which they had to curfew the entire county of Los Angeles at 7 p.m.

00:02:33.000 every night?

00:02:33.000 Like, for a week?

00:02:35.000 Yes, that did happen.

00:02:36.000 It's not a figment of your imagination.

00:02:37.000 Didn't they have to do some similar stuff in New York and Washington, D.C.?

00:02:40.000 Didn't we see people running roughshod through these cities?

00:02:43.000 Haven't we seen Portland burning for months on end?

00:02:45.000 Didn't we see an entire fake republic set up in Seattle with the quasi-approval of the city government?

00:02:52.000 And then two people got shot there and died there?

00:02:54.000 Didn't we see that?

00:02:55.000 Haven't we seen?

00:02:56.000 In essence, about three dozen people who have died connected with these various riots and looting sprees.

00:03:04.000 Haven't we seen that?

00:03:04.000 Haven't we seen an enormous number of injury?

00:03:06.000 Billions in property damage?

00:03:08.000 Haven't we seen all that?

00:03:09.000 Well, according to the media, none of it happened.

00:03:10.000 It's all Trump's fault.

00:03:12.000 So really, the only thing that's happening here is that President Trump is a very bad man, and the only reason that people become violent, if there's a cause that the media love, the only reason people become violent is because Trump is agitating them, or the right is agitating them, or it's white nationalist outsiders who are agitating them, or something like that.

00:03:27.000 The problem is, that is a square peg in a round hole. 0.82

00:03:30.000 There are times when the people to blame are white nationalists.

00:03:33.000 In fact, the vast majority of violent attacks in the United States for the first six months of 2020 were, in fact, white nationalist attacks.

00:03:41.000 But then it turns out that when it came to the burning of American cities, which began in May and June, it turns out that that is not the white nationalists.

00:03:49.000 And it's sort of important to determine who is doing what kind of violence, because if you actually want to call people out, you have to call people out for the specific things that they do.

00:03:58.000 As we'll see, this is an extraordinarily important point because right now what the media are trying to do is retcon this whole thing.

00:04:03.000 What they're trying to do is basically what the Democratic Party did with Ilhan Omar.

00:04:07.000 So Ilhan Omar is a radical anti-Semitic member of the Democratic Party caucus.

00:04:10.000 She's a well-respected anti-Semitic member because she appears on the cover of Rolling Stone with Nancy Pelosi, and she does tours with Nancy Pelosi, and Nancy Pelosi endorses her for re-election despite the fact that she openly hates Jews.

00:04:21.000 Okay, Ilhan Omar was originally going to be condemned.

00:04:23.000 She was going to be censured by the House.

00:04:25.000 And Democrats, because they didn't want to fracture their coalition and they were afraid of Ilhan Omar and the squad, they decided to water it down and instead condemn bad language of any sort all across the board.

00:04:35.000 Now, I'm old enough to remember when Donald Trump did something similar with Charlottesville.

00:04:39.000 Okay, to set up the predicate for what we're about to talk about here, it's important to remember what exactly happened with regard to what President Trump said at Charlottesville and why people got so mad originally.

00:04:39.000 Do you remember this?

00:04:48.000 So, you remember there was this white nationalist March in Charlottesville and it broke into violence because they started having clashes with Antifa members and then a member of the white nationalists drove a car into a group of anti-white nationalist protesters in Charlottesville.

00:05:06.000 And the president spoke that day, and he specifically did not call out the alt-right or the white nationalists, right?

00:05:12.000 In the first iteration, he didn't call them out so much, right?

00:05:15.000 In the first iteration, he sort of said, there was violence on many sides, on many sides.

00:05:19.000 This is the first iteration.

00:05:19.000 There were several different iterations of what the president said here.

00:05:22.000 Then he condemned the white nationalists.

00:05:23.000 He did in fact condemn the white nationalists over the weekend.

00:05:25.000 And then he suggested, I'm not talking about the good, when I say there are good people, I don't, I'm not talking about the white nationalists or anything like that.

00:05:32.000 I'm specifically talking about something different.

00:05:35.000 I'm talking about people who were marching, and it turns out that the people who were marching, in some cases, there were no good people who were marching that night.

00:05:42.000 Okay, bottom line is this.

00:05:43.000 The specific comment that President Trump made that got him in all sorts of hot water was that he suggested many people, many people, right?

00:05:53.000 This is the direct quote from Trump on Charlottesville.

00:05:55.000 This is the original one that got him in real trouble.

00:05:57.000 This is Friday night, right?

00:05:58.000 He said, quote, we condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides, on many sides.

00:06:07.000 And everybody went, well, hold up.

00:06:09.000 On many sides?

00:06:10.000 There's a white nationalist march in Charlottesville and then it broke into violence and a member of that group ended up killing somebody on Saturday morning.

00:06:18.000 And you're saying on many sides?

00:06:19.000 Like, why can't you just name the bad guys?

00:06:21.000 Go back, I did an entire rageful podcast on this, that the president had a specific duty to call out the people who are actually responsible for the violence, that he had a specific duty.

00:06:31.000 Yes, he could call out Antifa for being violent because they were in fact violent and are in fact violent, and they've been violent for years, but the people who were the specific instigators in Charlottesville were the alt-right and the white nationalists, and he had a specific duty not to create a moral equivalency there.

00:06:44.000 He got all sorts of flack for this.

00:06:46.000 Well, now the media are attempting to do exactly what they condemned President Trump for in Charlottesville.

00:06:51.000 It's truly amazing.

00:06:52.000 I mean, it really is amazing.

00:06:53.000 They are so unbelievably dishonest, because if you assume that that was a matter of principle for members of the media and the Democratic Party, that they just didn't like that President Trump wasn't calling out specifically the bad guys, and that he was drawing a moral equivalence where he's being deliberately vague in order to provide cover, Today, the entire Democratic Party and the media infrastructure are attempting to conflate what is happening in America's major cities and pretend that everybody is equally responsible for what's happening in America's major cities.

00:07:18.000 That when you're watching Chicago Loops, the Chicago Loop Looted, when we're watching Melrose Avenue burn, When we are watching Kenosha burn, when we are watching Washington, D.C.

00:07:29.000 get looted, when we are watching an increase in massive levels of crime in New York City due to the Defund the Police movement, when we are watching all this stuff, that's just kind of everybody's responsibility.

00:07:38.000 It's sort of out there in the wind.

00:07:39.000 And the reason the media are doing this is because if they acknowledge that this is a left-wing movement that is burning America's major cities and that for months they did nothing about it, for months, in fact, they poo-pooed it and said it wasn't happening and told you that rioting and looting were a figment of your imagination, these were all just peaceful protesters, And that when President Trump talked about using federal force in order to quell the rioters and the looters, not the protesters.

00:08:01.000 And when Tom Cotton, the senator from Arkansas, talked about using the Insurrection Act to quell rioting and looting, that really they were cracking down on protesters.

00:08:07.000 And the media kept conflating the two for purposes of suggesting that these were all non-violent, wonderful people.

00:08:13.000 It was all a figment of your imagination. 1.00

00:08:15.000 And then it turns out the American people are not, in fact, as stupid as advertised and have eyeballs in their heads and prefrontal cortexes at the front of their brains. 1.00

00:08:23.000 That the media flipped on this immediately. 1.00

00:08:26.000 And now it became everybody's issue.

00:08:27.000 Now it's Trump's fault.

00:08:28.000 Now it's white nationalists, right?

00:08:30.000 For literally months at this point, the city's been burning. 0.98

00:08:33.000 And it's all the white nationalists. 0.95

00:08:35.000 Weird, isn't it? 0.98

00:08:36.000 Weird.

00:08:37.000 Or at least if it's not all the white nationalists, at least they're equally responsible, aren't they?

00:08:41.000 Now this is just not true.

00:08:42.000 It's just not factually accurate.

00:08:44.000 In the same way that it was not factually accurate for the President of the United States in Charlottesville to claim equal responsibility between the white supremacists and the white nationalists and the Antifa members, it is not, it is not even, it's significantly less accurate, actually, for the media to suggest that what's been going on in America's major cities is generally the result of either Trump or the white nationalists.

00:09:02.000 In fact, that's insane. 0.86

00:09:04.000 That's totally crazy.

00:09:05.000 But the media are pushing that agenda because, again, the real agenda is not about the white nationalists or Trump.

00:09:10.000 It's about downplaying the responsibility of Democrats and the media for tutting, patting on the head, and in some cases, actively encouraging the violence that's been going on in America's major cities.

00:09:21.000 So that is the backdrop to what happened this weekend.

00:09:24.000 This stuff has not been happening in a vacuum.

00:09:25.000 The media have been pushing it.

00:09:28.000 Many Democrats, ranging from Ayanna Pressley to Maxine Waters, have been pushing this kind of activity for a very long time here.

00:09:34.000 And people like Joe Biden have not been standing up strong and saying, these movements that we largely identify with need to stop the violence.

00:09:41.000 They have not been naming and shaming.

00:09:42.000 Instead, they've been deliberately vague because they are afraid of fracturing the coalition.

00:09:46.000 President Trump got badgered over and over and over after his original many sides statements at Charlottesville.

00:09:50.000 And many sides on many sides.

00:09:51.000 He got badgered over and over.

00:09:53.000 Will you condemn the white nationalists?

00:09:54.000 Will you condemn the alt-right?

00:09:55.000 Will you do that?

00:09:57.000 And he was right to be badgered about that.

00:09:58.000 Okay, you're allowed to badger people to condemn bad people.

00:10:02.000 Will one member of the mainstream media specifically ask Joe Biden to call out Antifa by name?

00:10:07.000 Will one member of the mainstream media specifically ask him to call out BLM rioters and looters by name?

00:10:12.000 The Black Lives Matter rioters and looters by name? 1.00

00:10:14.000 Will one?

00:10:15.000 I don't think so, do you?

00:10:17.000 I would be shocked if they do.

00:10:18.000 And if they do, and Joe Biden does the moral equivalence routine, if Joe Biden pretends that everybody bears equal responsibility for this, isn't he providing cover in the same way that they accused Trump of providing cover to the alt-right in Charlottesville?

00:10:31.000 Remember, that was such an egregious situation, according to the media.

00:10:35.000 And according to Joe Biden, Trump's Charlottesville comments were literally the reason he supposedly launched his 2020 campaign.

00:10:40.000 Now, of course, that was a lie.

00:10:41.000 Joe Biden's run for president every presidential election since 1873, 1872.

00:10:46.000 But the fact is that that was Joe Biden's stated rationale, right?

00:10:50.000 He said, Charlottesville, those comments were so egregious, so morally bereft, so soulless that I had to jump into the race.

00:10:56.000 Okay, so then Joe Biden, doesn't that mean that if you want to restore America's soul, as you suggest you're going to, you need to call out by name the people who are burning America's major cities and shooting people?

00:11:09.000 And by the way, shouldn't you stop lying about the people on the other side?

00:11:13.000 Because in some cases, in many of these cases, they are not white nationalists.

00:11:18.000 After Kyle Rittenhouse, this 17-year-old man, young man, shot three people in Kenosha, Wisconsin, the media immediately ran with the narrative.

00:11:27.000 Many on Twitter immediately ran with the narrative he's a white nationalist.

00:11:29.000 I have yet to see one shred of evidence that Kyle Rittenhouse is a white nationalist.

00:11:32.000 And yet, as you will see, Joe Biden is running with that narrative today.

00:11:35.000 As you will see, there was a shooting in Portland over the weekend.

00:11:38.000 A pro-Trump man was killed.

00:11:40.000 And they're running with the narrative that the guy was naturally a white nationalist because he was there and he was pro-Trump.

00:11:44.000 Okay, this is insanity.

00:11:45.000 We'll get to more of this in just one second.

00:11:47.000 First, let us talk about the fact that with the current heat wave in Los Angeles, the last thing you want to be doing is waiting around in the parking lot, in your car, waiting for your car to be out of the shop, or standing in the parking lot in a giant line, waiting for your car part to be delivered to you.

00:12:02.000 You don't need to be at one of these AutoZone-type stores, in other words.

00:12:05.000 And what you do need is the internet.

00:12:07.000 RockAuto.com.

00:12:08.000 It's much easier than going to one of these stores.

00:12:10.000 You have to wait outside in line with social distancing and everything.

00:12:13.000 Instead, you should just go online and get the part that you need.

00:12:15.000 Number one, you're going to save time.

00:12:16.000 Number two, you're going to save money.

00:12:17.000 Number three, you're not going to be upcharged based on exactly what the big parts shop wants to charge you.

00:12:24.000 Also, you're not going to have to wait because, I mean, the fact is that they'll probably order it online anyway, and then they'll upcharge you for the service.

00:12:30.000 RockAuto.com always offers the lowest prices possible rather than changing prices based on what the market will bear like airlines do.

00:12:36.000 Why spend up to twice as much for the same exact parts?

00:12:38.000 RockAuto.com is a family business serving auto parts customers online for 20 years.

00:12:42.000 Go to RockAuto.com to shop for auto and body parts from hundreds of manufacturers.

00:12:45.000 Best of all, prices at RockAuto.com are always reliably low and the same for professionals and do-it-yourselfers.

00:12:50.000 Why would you spend up to twice as much for the same parts?

00:12:53.000 The RockOtter.com catalog is unique, remarkably easy to navigate.

00:12:56.000 You can quickly see all the parts available for your car or truck right now, and choose the brands, specifications, and prices you prefer.

00:13:02.000 Go to RockOtter.com right now, see all the parts available for your vehicle.

00:13:05.000 Write Shapiro in their How Did You Hear About Us box, and they will know that we sent you.

00:13:08.000 Again, save yourself some time, save yourself some money.

00:13:10.000 Okay, so this brings us to the actual news.

00:13:12.000 Okay, so over the weekend, There was a big confrontation.

00:13:16.000 Portland, of course, has been completely overrun by Antifa members and Black Lives Matter rioters and looters in the evenings. 0.99

00:13:21.000 And you'll recall that the Trump administration sent in federal forces in order to protect federal property, and they were ripped up and down as fascists by the media, by the Democrats.

00:13:31.000 How dare they?

00:13:32.000 Remember, they were just lying.

00:13:33.000 They were saying that the Feds were sending unmarked vans to simply arrest people for no apparent reason and then beat the hell out of them and all of a sudden it was not, that wasn't true.

00:13:42.000 They were literally authorized by federal laws to protect federal property from rioters and looters and yes, they could exit federal property in order to go after perps.

00:13:49.000 So, in any case.

00:13:51.000 The idea was that, and the media ran with the narrative, that the violence in Portland was then a result of the Feds being there, which of course was not true, because the Feds had only arrived in the last seven minutes, and the riots had been going on for a running total of three months at this point.

00:14:03.000 And Mayor Ted Wheeler, the mayor of Portland, has allowed that to go on, and Kate Brown, the governor of Oregon, has allowed that to go on, because she refuses to call in the National Guard.

00:14:11.000 So, the Antifa members and the BLM rioters and looters, and I keep saying BLM rioters and looters because, again, I don't think that everybody who has marched with BLM is a rioter and a looter.

00:14:20.000 Of course, that is obviously untrue.

00:14:21.000 There are millions of people who have marched with BLM.

00:14:23.000 I think many of them don't actually understand the agenda of the Black Lives Matter organization, and many of them have been tricked by the media into believing that the generalized narrative of American systemic racism is is both true and also allows them to dissociate from America's evil and make themselves feel morally superior to the rest of America.

00:14:40.000 But in any case, that distinction is worthwhile.

00:14:43.000 But many of the riders and looters are, in fact, BLM associated.

00:14:46.000 And it's just a fact.

00:14:47.000 These are not Republican voters.

00:14:48.000 They're not white nationalists.

00:14:49.000 There are people who openly wear BLM shirts.

00:14:52.000 And Antifa is a real group.

00:14:52.000 Many of them are OK.

00:14:55.000 So they've been doing this for months on end.

00:14:56.000 OK, so over the weekend, a group called Patriot Prayer Which is a right-wing group.

00:15:01.000 They're not white nationalists.

00:15:02.000 Okay, the media calling these folks white nationalists, that is not accurate.

00:15:05.000 Now, does this mean this is smart?

00:15:07.000 To drive through the center of Portland with the American flags and the Blue Lives Matter flags and all that? 0.89

00:15:12.000 First of all, it's a free country.

00:15:14.000 You should be allowed to drive into civilian areas without having to worry about this.

00:15:17.000 So there's only one person who's responsible for this and that's Mayor Ted Wheeler. 0.99

00:15:20.000 And the mayor of Portland is a garbage heap. 1.00

00:15:22.000 He is a dung heap of a mayor. 1.00

00:15:24.000 He's a terrible, terrible mayor. 1.00

00:15:26.000 I used to say Bill de Blasio was the worst mayor in America. 0.96

00:15:28.000 He does not hold a candle to Ted Wheeler.

00:15:29.000 I mean, this is incredible.

00:15:30.000 If you watch your city on fire for three months and you actively incentivize this.

00:15:35.000 And by the way, Antifa has had a low level.

00:15:38.000 I said low-level run of the place for years on end.

00:15:40.000 I mean, Andy Ngo, the reporter who spends an enormous amount of time covering Antifa in Portland, has videos going back like to 2017 of Antifa literally stopping people on street corners and directing traffic and stuff.

00:15:51.000 It's crazy. 0.91

00:15:52.000 So Mayor Ted Wheeler, the garbage mayor, he doesn't allow the feds to come in. 0.98

00:15:56.000 He tells them to get out, in fact. 0.97

00:15:59.000 He specifically tells the Portland cops not to clear the streets.

00:16:03.000 And so when the Patriot Prayer guys show up in their trucks, There are no cops to stop any of it.

00:16:08.000 And this leads to confrontations.

00:16:10.000 Now, does that mean that it is smart to initiate confrontations on the streets?

00:16:14.000 It is not smart to... Even if Antifa is running the streets, it is the job of local authorities to clear them.

00:16:20.000 It is not a good idea to initiate... Well, I won't say initiate, because the people who initiated are the people who took over the streets.

00:16:26.000 It is not a good idea to put yourself in a situation where violence is likely to occur.

00:16:30.000 But Patriot Prayer is not, in fact, a white nationalist group.

00:16:32.000 The founder of the group has explicitly denounced white nationalism on multiple occasions and white supremacism on multiple occasions.

00:16:38.000 He has called them all sorts of names, which is perfectly appropriate. 0.98

00:16:40.000 Okay, the media have covered this as it was white nationalists coming to Portland.

00:16:44.000 That is not what the evidence demonstrates.

00:16:46.000 Okay, so we'll show you the video and then we'll tell you what happened in just one second.

00:16:49.000 First, let us talk about something good that you can do.

00:16:52.000 Something actually nice and good that you can do for your community.

00:17:03.000 Why?

00:17:03.000 Get rid of it.

00:17:06.000 Many of you have heard their jingle.

00:17:07.000 Get ready for it.

00:17:08.000 Get ready for it. 0.99

00:17:08.000 I'm gonna stick it in your head. 0.99

00:17:43.000 Donating your car is tax deductible.

00:17:45.000 Your tax deduction is based on the sale price of your car.

00:17:48.000 Cars for Kids works hard to sell your car for the best price, which means more funds for their charity and a bigger tax deduction for you.

00:17:53.000 So everybody wins.

00:18:22.000 Slash Ben.

00:18:23.000 That's Kars, with a K, for the number four. 0.74

00:18:25.000 Kids.org.

00:18:26.000 Slash Ben.

00:18:27.000 Okay, so.

00:18:28.000 Here's what happens over the weekend.

00:18:29.000 Patriot Prayer shows up in Portland.

00:18:32.000 They're driving their trucks.

00:18:33.000 They've got the Trump flags.

00:18:34.000 And Antifa, because they own the streets and because the cops have been told to stand down, confrontation occurs.

00:18:39.000 So the Patriot Prayer guards aren't shooting the members of Antifa, who are trying to literally block traffic.

00:18:44.000 Instead, they are macing them.

00:18:44.000 So here's what some of the video looked like over the weekend.

00:18:48.000 You can see they are firing mace from the windows to try and force the streets open.

00:18:52.000 People getting out of the way.

00:18:54.000 They were also firing paintballs at some of the Antifa members.

00:18:59.000 Hey, is any of this good?

00:19:00.000 Of course none of this is good.

00:19:02.000 Where the hell are the cops?

00:19:03.000 Where the hell are the feds? 1.00

00:19:04.000 And the answer is Mayor Ted Wheeler is a garbage mayor. 0.99

00:19:06.000 It is his job to make sure that when you leave, I said it last week, this stuff is predictable. 0.97

00:19:11.000 When you leave, The legitimate government monopoly on the use of force at the back door, then there will be something that fills the gap.

00:19:18.000 And typically, it tends to be tribal violence.

00:19:21.000 Okay, that is what you are seeing in the streets.

00:19:22.000 Okay, then a pro-Trump supporter was murdered.

00:19:26.000 Literally just murdered on the streets.

00:19:28.000 So here is the video.

00:19:29.000 It's troubling, obviously.

00:19:31.000 You can't see it particularly well, but that is your warning.

00:19:34.000 So you will see a man in the background walk up to another man and literally just shoot him point-blank.

00:19:41.000 And what you seem to be able to hear in the background is, we got a Trumper here. 0.99

00:19:46.000 We have a Trump supporter, so that means it's time to murder him, apparently. 0.97

00:19:48.000 Here's what that sounded like. 0.99

00:19:50.000 Move, move, move!

00:19:52.000 We gotta go!

00:19:54.000 We gotta go!

00:19:56.000 Move, move, move!

00:19:58.000 Gunshots Gunshots Let's go, let's go, let's go!

00:20:04.000 Gunshots He shoots the man, the man's dead.

00:20:09.000 He just shot a man to death right there on the street, this Antifa member.

00:20:13.000 And now we have some knowledge of who this guy is, because he is indeed an Antifa member.

00:20:17.000 He is not a white supremacist who committed this murder.

00:20:19.000 According to the New York Post, an ex-military man who calls himself 100% Antifa, 100% Antifa, and ready for war, is being investigated over the deadly shooting of a President Trump supporter in Portland, according to a report.

00:20:32.000 His name is Michael Forrest Reinhold, 48.

00:20:34.000 He's being investigated over the death of Aaron Danielson, a supporter of the right-wing Patriot Prayer Group, who was part of a caravan of Trump supporters who flooded the city Saturday, police sources told The Oregonian.

00:20:44.000 He was identified in part by a distinctive tattoo on his neck of a black power fist. 0.55

00:20:49.000 Hmm.

00:20:50.000 Seems he had some politics, as well as a call from his estranged sister who recognized him in video and photos of the deadly attack.

00:20:56.000 The 36-year-old sister was first alerted after a threatening call that woke her up at 8 a.m.

00:21:00.000 on Sunday morning.

00:21:00.000 Our whole family was in danger unless we turned him over.

00:21:03.000 We reached out to police, confirmed we recognized Michael in the screenshots from the shooting.

00:21:06.000 She told the paper.

00:21:07.000 Apparently, he's estranged from most of the family, including his parents, after stealing from them.

00:21:13.000 And then she decried the shooting as not the solution to the country's problems.

00:21:19.000 He regularly posts about Black Lives Matter and protests on his social media.

00:21:23.000 He says, I'm 100% Antifa all the way.

00:21:25.000 I'm willing to fight for my brothers and sisters, insisting he would not run from the violence.

00:21:30.000 Now, here's the thing.

00:21:31.000 He was cited at a July 5th protest on allegations of possessing a loaded gun in a public place, resisting arrest, and interfering with police.

00:21:39.000 He was then given a date to appear in court later that month, but the allegations were dropped on July 30th with no complaints, according to court records.

00:21:45.000 No reason was given.

00:21:46.000 The Multnomah County District Attorney's Office said it was reviewing the case.

00:21:49.000 This is literally a case of a person who committed a criminal act, but was on the right side of the leftist narrative, Being released without any charges because the city of Portland decides not to prosecute anymore people who engage in crime at these protests as long as they have the right perspective.

00:22:07.000 And then he went out and he murdered somebody.

00:22:08.000 He had a slew of other charges as well.

00:22:12.000 He was also previously charged with having a loaded Glock pistol, for which he didn't have a license, and was stopped with his 11-year-old daughter as a passenger in his car.

00:22:19.000 The Portland Police Bureau did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

00:22:22.000 This is all according to the New York Post.

00:22:25.000 The response from members of the crowd when they found out that this happened were twofold.

00:22:30.000 One, misinformation immediately went around that a Trump supporter had shot a black man because this is what happens now.

00:22:36.000 Any story is immediately filled in by the internet with black man, innocent black man shot, right? 0.99

00:22:42.000 This just happened in Minneapolis when a black murder suspect literally killed himself. 0.80

00:22:46.000 I mean, committed suicide and rioting happened anyway.

00:22:48.000 So the false story led to rioters targeting a gas station So there was video of that that was emerging over the weekend.

00:22:55.000 These rioters targeting a gas station in Portland.

00:22:57.000 You can see.

00:22:57.000 Because that makes perfect sense.

00:22:59.000 It's the gas station's fault. 0.78

00:23:01.000 That gas station is systemically racist, obviously.

00:23:04.000 So there are the rioters targeting the gas station.

00:23:06.000 Always a good look.

00:23:09.000 Gathering at the petrol station, preparing for something or other. 0.61

00:23:13.000 Okay, and then there was a BLM activist who literally told a group of people in Portland, I am not sorry, this is a direct quote, I'm not sorry an effing fascist died tonight.

00:23:23.000 Now is there any evidence this guy was a fascist, the victim in this case?

00:23:27.000 Nope.

00:23:27.000 We have no idea whether he was a... There is no evidence.

00:23:30.000 There's no evidence he was a white nationalist or a white supremacist.

00:23:32.000 In fact, the only thing that we know about him is that you can see his prone body lying on the ground and he's wearing some Blue Lives Matter gear, right?

00:23:37.000 Pro-police gear.

00:23:39.000 But that means he's a fascist now, so here is a BLM activist. 0.59

00:23:41.000 Don't worry, though.

00:23:42.000 This is not political, right? 0.97

00:23:43.000 I mean, this is white supremacist.

00:23:44.000 Well, as we will see, everyone bears equal responsibility according to the media.

00:23:47.000 Here we go.

00:23:50.000 Well, I mean, there's no evidence the person's a fascist, but if you oppose the revolution, you're a fascist.

00:23:58.000 Our community can hold its own without the police.

00:24:01.000 We can take out the trash on our own. 0.99

00:24:04.000 I am not sad that a f***ing fascist died tonight. 0.99

00:24:10.000 Well, I mean, there's no evidence the person's a fascist, but if you oppose the revolution, you're a fascist. 0.99

00:24:15.000 That's the way communists speak.

00:24:17.000 If you're not a Bolshevik, you're a Menshevik, right? 0.75

00:24:21.000 That's the way this works.

00:24:22.000 In just a second, we're going to get to more of this and the insane media spin that is coming out of this because this sort of violence is now occurring across the nation and these sorts of encouragements are coming very clearly from one particular side of the aisle, an extremist.

00:24:37.000 And as we'll see, the media are taking the narrative that it's on all sides, on many sides, on many sides.

00:24:42.000 Remember, on many sides was bad until five seconds ago.

00:24:44.000 Now on many sides is very good.

00:24:46.000 But that is a very strong statement against violence if you say on many sides.

00:24:49.000 We'll get to more of this in just one second.

00:24:50.000 First, right now, you might think, hey, maybe I need a gun to protect myself.

00:24:55.000 I wonder why you would think such a thing.

00:24:57.000 Then maybe, as the local police are removed from my neighborhood, and as people threaten to go into suburbs and raid property and harm people, maybe you might think about, like, it might be a good thing to have a gun, but it's not enough to have a firearm.

00:25:08.000 You have to know how to use it.

00:25:10.000 Not only do you have to know how to use it, you have to know when you have legal protection for it and not.

00:25:14.000 And this is why you need to join up with the U.S.

00:25:15.000 Concealed Carry Association.

00:25:18.000 You need the proper education, industry-leading training to ensure your skills are sharp when faced with danger, and you need the nation's best legal protection should you find yourself, God forbid, lost in the aftermath of a self-defense incident.

00:25:27.000 You need the USCCA.

00:25:28.000 Get started today by texting GUN to 87222.

00:25:32.000 You'll receive the complete concealed carry and family defense guide for free.

00:25:35.000 We've been talking about USCCA for literally years on this program.

00:25:38.000 It's just, it seems a little more relevant these days.

00:25:40.000 In this guide, you'll learn how to detect attackers before they see you, how to survive a mass shooting, seven firearm drills that could save your life, and much, much more.

00:25:46.000 It's 164 pages, comes with a bonus audio version so you can listen whenever you want.

00:25:51.000 Again, it's not enough just to own a firearm.

00:25:53.000 You have to know when you can legally use a firearm, how to legally use a firearm, so that you can be a responsible citizen with a firearm.

00:25:59.000 In addition, if you text today, you'll be entered to win $1,000 to put toward a gun of your choice that you can use to protect your family and your rights.

00:26:04.000 Text GUN, G-U-N, to 87222 right now.

00:26:07.000 Again, text GUN to 87222 right now.

00:26:10.000 The USCCA wants to make sure that you are able to fully perform your self-defense rights.

00:26:15.000 Again, self-defense.

00:26:16.000 I know that the left tends to think all self-defense is evil.

00:26:18.000 No, self-defense is an inherent right.

00:26:20.000 It pre-exists government.

00:26:21.000 USCCA is trying to effectuate it and make sure that you follow all legal procedures in doing so.

00:26:25.000 Text GUN to 87222 right now and join up with the USCCA.

00:26:29.000 Okay, so.

00:26:30.000 Why was any of this happening in Portland in the first place? 0.98

00:26:33.000 The reason this was happening in Portland in the first place is specifically because the mayor of Portland, Ted Wheeler, is a garbage heap. 0.99

00:26:38.000 And he's a garbage heap. 0.99

00:26:39.000 I'm gonna get to Ted Wheeler in just a second. 0.99

00:26:41.000 First, I just need to show you what's been happening all over the nation.

00:26:44.000 So in Washington, D.C., overnight, a BLM activist literally told people on the streets that he's ready to put cops in their graves.

00:26:52.000 So that's always a good look.

00:26:53.000 Here's what that sounded like. 0.99

00:26:56.000 I'm at the point where I'm ready to put these police in a f***ing grave. 1.00

00:27:01.000 I'm at the point where I want to burn the f***ing White House down. 0.99

00:27:08.000 I want to take it to the senators. 0.99

00:27:11.000 I want to take it to the Congress.

00:27:14.000 I want to take the fight to them. 0.99

00:27:16.000 And at the end of the day, if they ain't going to hear us, we burn them the f*** down. 1.00

00:27:23.000 If they're not going to hear us, we burn them the f*** down. 0.99

00:27:25.000 Really well done stuff here, guys. 0.99

00:27:27.000 But again, that guy seems like a white nationalist to me.

00:27:30.000 And Kenosha.

00:27:31.000 Remember we were told that Kenosha was no big deal?

00:27:33.000 As you will see, the media tried to downplay Kenosha.

00:27:35.000 It was mostly peaceful.

00:27:36.000 Mostly peaceful.

00:27:37.000 Fiery, but mostly peaceful.

00:27:38.000 Here are just some pictures from the aftermath of Kenosha.

00:27:40.000 You can see entire city blocks reduced to rubble.

00:27:42.000 Again, this is a suburb of about 100,000 people.

00:27:45.000 This is not a major city.

00:27:47.000 You can see stores burned out.

00:27:48.000 That Good Taste ice cream shop, obviously a source of systemic racism.

00:27:53.000 There's a building completely, completely destroyed.

00:27:56.000 You can see entire city blocks basically razed.

00:28:00.000 Don't worry though, writing and looting are okay as we'll see.

00:28:02.000 There's the famous car dealership that was burned to the ground.

00:28:06.000 Next door there was a church that was partially burned.

00:28:10.000 You got the revolution signs on the boarded up windows.

00:28:15.000 Don't worry, no matter how hard you board your windows, no matter how many BLM slogans you put on there, it ain't gonna protect you.

00:28:20.000 This is, again, these pictures are, it's pretty obvious what's going on here, right?

00:28:24.000 Okay, so what exactly is the political response to all of this? Because this would be a good time for all of the political class to, in unison, denounce Antifa, the BLM rioters and looters by name. They won't do it because the Democrats are afraid of splitting their coalition.

00:28:41.000 So instead, they've decided on an alternative narrative.

00:28:43.000 The alternative narrative is this is all Trump's fault.

00:28:45.000 But if it weren't for Trump, none of this would happen.

00:28:46.000 Now, I'm old enough to remember when there were riots in Ferguson and Baltimore.

00:28:49.000 I'm old enough to remember when there were riots in Milwaukee.

00:28:51.000 The president at that time was a man named Barack Obama.

00:28:53.000 He was the first black president of the United States, you may recall.

00:28:55.000 Didn't stop the riots in Ferguson or Baltimore or in Milwaukee.

00:29:00.000 It is only that the narrative has been exacerbated under President Trump because the left have decided that they wish to grant more room for people to riot and loot.

00:29:08.000 That is what is happening. 0.95

00:29:08.000 So, Mayor Ted Wheeler, the garbage mayor of Portland, is a perfect case in point of this. 0.95

00:29:13.000 So, Ted Wheeler, he sent a letter rejecting federal help. 0.60

00:29:18.000 He sent that letter on August 28th.

00:29:20.000 Today is the 31st, so that means that he sent the letter on Friday.

00:29:24.000 Here is the letter from Mayor Ted Wheeler.

00:29:26.000 Remember, this is before a weekend where a man was murdered on the streets of Portland by an Antifa member, allegedly.

00:29:32.000 Quote, Dear President Trump, yet again, you said you offered to aid Portland by sending in federal law enforcement to our city. On behalf of the city of Portland, no thanks.

00:29:40.000 We don't need your politics of division and demagoguery.

00:29:43.000 Portlanders are on to you. 1.00

00:29:44.000 We have already seen your reckless disregard for human life in your bumbling response to the COVID pandemic. And we know you've reached the conclusion that images of violence or vandalism are your only ticket to reelection. There's no place for looting, arson or vandalism in our city.

00:29:56.000 There's no room here for racist violence or those who wish to bring their ideology of hate into our community.

00:30:01.000 Those who commit criminal acts will be apprehended and prosecuted under the law.

00:30:05.000 Now let me pause there for just a second.

00:30:06.000 There have been running riots in the city of Portland for three full months.

00:30:10.000 Every single night.

00:30:12.000 Every night.

00:30:13.000 And what he's saying is, I don't want any Trump supporters in my town.

00:30:16.000 Because they're the bad guys, right?

00:30:18.000 There's no room here for racist violence.

00:30:20.000 Okay, so apparently it's not racist violence if you're just shot for being a Trump supporter.

00:30:24.000 I love that he says those who commit criminal acts will be apprehended and prosecuted under law.

00:30:27.000 Weird, because there is a suspect.

00:30:29.000 You may recall him.

00:30:30.000 He was arrested, actually.

00:30:33.000 Apparently, at like a June 5th protest, carrying a gun they didn't have a license for.

00:30:37.000 You remember this?

00:30:37.000 And then you released him and he murdered somebody.

00:30:40.000 Hmm.

00:30:41.000 Hmm.

00:30:42.000 So it seems like Mayor Ted Wheeler actually He's not very good at his job.

00:30:46.000 Or he's very good at his job.

00:30:47.000 His job is just not what everybody thinks his job is, which is to keep the citizens safe.

00:30:50.000 So tens of thousands of Portlanders have peacefully protested and marched for the noble cause of fixing our broken criminal justice system.

00:30:56.000 They are part of the proud progressive tradition of Portlanders fighting for justice, from racial justice to economic justice to environmental justice.

00:31:02.000 When you sent the feds to Portland last month, you made the situation far worse.

00:31:06.000 Really, was it worse when the feds were there?

00:31:09.000 Or was it basically the same except the feds were there?

00:31:11.000 Your offer to repeat that disaster is a cynical attempt to stoke fear and distract us from the real work of our city.

00:31:17.000 In Portland, we are focused on coming together as a community to solve the serious challenges we face due to systemic racism, a global pandemic, and an economic recession.

00:31:25.000 Notice among the list of problems they face in Portland, not the burning of the center of the city, or the complete takeover of major thoroughfares by Antifa, or the ongoing violence each and every night.

00:31:37.000 The only problem here is Trump.

00:31:38.000 And the media, by this bullcrap, hook, line, and sinker, I mean, it really is incredible.

00:31:43.000 So Ted Wheeler then did a press conference, and he said, Trump has to stay the hell out of the way.

00:31:47.000 Trump's not gonna help.

00:31:48.000 He needs to stay the hell out of the way. 1.00

00:31:49.000 Weird, because Trump has mainly stayed the hell out of the way, and your city's been on fire for three months, you stupid jackass. 1.00

00:31:55.000 Here's Mayor Ted Wheeler, the worst governor, the worst mayor in America, and now he's surpassed Bill de Blasio. 1.00

00:32:00.000 It takes a lot to surpass Bill de Blasio, the groundhog murderer.

00:32:04.000 He has an opportunity to uplift us and bring us together and help us move through this difficult situation in our nation's history.

00:32:11.000 And instead, he chooses to play petty politics and divide us.

00:32:15.000 That's my reaction.

00:32:17.000 So I'm going to do the work that I need to do here in my local community with my local officials to take accountability for what's happening on our streets.

00:32:25.000 And I'd appreciate that either the president support us or he stay the hell out of the way.

00:32:29.000 This is epic levels of gaslighting.

00:32:31.000 Epic levels of gaslighting.

00:32:33.000 This guy completely abandoned his city to Antifa, and it's Trump's fault at the federal level.

00:32:37.000 And when Trump's like, hey, would you like some troops?

00:32:38.000 He's like, no, that's stoking hatred and division.

00:32:41.000 We can't have that.

00:32:42.000 Then he went on, he said, it's Trump creating the hatred and division.

00:32:45.000 Oh, Trump.

00:32:46.000 Yeah, it's all about Trump.

00:32:47.000 By the way, if you buy this, you are a Rube.

00:32:49.000 Okay, if you buy the idea that all evil starts and ends with Trump, you're a Rube. 1.00

00:32:53.000 If you believe that riots in America's major cities led by outside Antifa agitators, and yes, BLM rioters and looters, that that violence is a product of President Trump's cruelty and malice and malicious evil, you're a Rube and they are treating you as a sucker. 1.00

00:33:09.000 Okay, but they are treating you as a sucker. 1.00

00:33:11.000 Here's Mayor Ted Wheeler treating you as a sucker. 1.00

00:33:15.000 It's you who have created the hate in the division. 0.99

00:33:19.000 It's you who have not found a way to say the names of black people killed by police officers, even as people in law enforcement have. 0.72

00:33:30.000 And it's you who claimed that white supremacists are good people.

00:33:35.000 Your campaign of fear is as anti-democratic as anything you've done to create hate and vitriol in our beautiful country.

00:33:46.000 You've tried to divide us more than any other figure in modern history.

00:33:51.000 And now you want me to stop the violence that you helped create.

00:33:56.000 Trump didn't create the violence in Portland. 1.00

00:33:58.000 Are you insane? 0.97

00:33:59.000 Portland is entirely blue. 0.98

00:34:00.000 Entirely.

00:34:01.000 If you can find, I mean, Portland is like the scene from the Bible where Abraham says to God, you know, can we find 10 good people in Sodom and Gomorrah?

00:34:09.000 And God's like, well, actually, no.

00:34:11.000 Can you find 10 Republicans in the city of Portland?

00:34:14.000 Doesn't mean it's not a full equation.

00:34:16.000 It's not like the only good people are Republicans.

00:34:17.000 OK, the point is there's not 10 Republicans in the city of Portland. 0.69

00:34:20.000 The hell are you talking about? 0.93

00:34:22.000 The hell are you talking about? 0.97

00:34:23.000 And then Wheeler says, I'll bring us back together.

00:34:25.000 Really, how's that going for you, Mayor?

00:34:27.000 The bringing of the people back together.

00:34:30.000 The people who elected this guy, you know, I've been quoting HL Mencken more and more frequently these days.

00:34:35.000 The famous columnist from the early 20th century.

00:34:38.000 And as my favorite HL Mencken quote, the American people get what they deserve, good and hard.

00:34:43.000 And in Portland, you're getting what you deserve, good and hard.

00:34:45.000 I mean, you voted for this.

00:34:46.000 This is what you get.

00:34:49.000 Now the work that we have to do in our communities across this nation, in the wake of the murder of George Floyd.

00:34:56.000 I'm up to that challenge.

00:34:57.000 And I hope the President is too.

00:34:59.000 And I'm ready to reach across any aisles I need to reach across, any political divides that I need to cross, in order to bring us back together.

00:35:07.000 Somebody's got to do it.

00:35:08.000 I'm committed to it.

00:35:09.000 I know my colleagues on the Portland City are committed to it.

00:35:12.000 I'd like to hear the President of the United States say, he's all in.

00:35:16.000 Let's bring this great nation back together.

00:35:18.000 How gullible do you have to be to believe this?

00:35:20.000 How gullible?

00:35:21.000 Trump was like, I'll give you feds.

00:35:22.000 He's like, I'm willing to work across the aisle, except for you, Mr. President. 1.00

00:35:25.000 You're a piece of crap, and I'm not going to work with you, and I'm going to let the city burn and let somebody get shot to death in the city over the weekend. 1.00

00:35:30.000 Okay, so Trump's response all points to Trump here. 1.00

00:35:35.000 Somebody tweeted out, Ted Wheeler is the useless effing idiot and comic relief that gets everyone killed in every disaster movie. 1.00

00:35:41.000 And Trump tweeted out, tone down the language, but true. 1.00

00:35:44.000 Okay, normally, as you know, I'm not big on the inflammatory Trump tweets, Correct.

00:35:51.000 Correct.

00:35:53.000 We're going to get to more of this in just a second, because here's what's really happening. 0.83

00:35:55.000 What's really happening is the media and the Democrats were willing to allow this crap to go on for months on end because they backed the underlying agenda, which is that the American system is systemically racist and systemically classist and evil, and all of the substructures of American society must be torn down.

00:36:09.000 This is a revolution, not an evolution. 0.92

00:36:11.000 You don't work inside the system.

00:36:12.000 You have to work outside the system.

00:36:13.000 This is the Ibram Kendi, Robin DiAngelo tear down the entire system nonsense on the basis of race.

00:36:18.000 This is the Bernie Sanders tear down the entire system on the basis of class stuff.

00:36:22.000 All of this has been bubbling under the surface for quite a while, and Democrats were willing to allow a little bit of it to spring into action with these riots.

00:36:32.000 They're willing to allow it to happen and pretend that it wasn't happening until the point at which the polls turned.

00:36:36.000 And then the polls turned, and now they're struggling for a new narrative, because they're still not willing to condemn it.

00:36:39.000 So instead, what they do is they soft-condemn all violence all over the world.

00:36:43.000 You know what's really bad?

00:36:44.000 What's bad?

00:36:45.000 Sure, it's like bad that there's left and right-wing violence.

00:36:48.000 It's bad that there's some bad stuff happening in the cities, but also that there's bad stuff happening in Cambodia.

00:36:53.000 There's bad stuff happening everywhere, guys.

00:36:55.000 So this is the new Democ- And it's all Trump's fault.

00:36:57.000 All of it's Trump's fault.

00:36:58.000 This is the new Democratic line.

00:36:59.000 It ain't gonna work.

00:37:00.000 We'll get to more of this in just one second, because the Democrats are beginning to realize this is backfiring on them big time, and now they're struggling.

00:37:06.000 And they should be struggling, because they are the ones who decided to feed the alligator, and the alligator will eat them last.

00:37:10.000 We're going to get to that in one second.

00:37:12.000 First, let's talk about the fact that you're thinking to yourself right now, well, everything seems like it is insane.

00:37:17.000 Can I even still get life insurance?

00:37:19.000 I mean, we got like a COVID pandemic on, we got riots in major cities.

00:37:21.000 Is now a good time to get life insurance?

00:38:30.000 You're listening to the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.

00:38:34.000 Okay, so Joe Biden knows that he is in a bind.

00:38:43.000 And the reason Joe Biden is in a bind is because he and the rest of the Democrats basically let this stuff go for months or patted it on the head, like directly patted it on the head.

00:38:51.000 Now, remember, Democrats pretended this stuff was not happening.

00:38:54.000 Remember, Jerry Nadler, less than a month, like a month ago, a little bit over a month ago, this is July 27th.

00:39:00.000 Jerry Nadler, the Democratic congressperson from New York, literally said that Antifa violence in Portland was a myth.

00:39:06.000 It does not exist.

00:39:08.000 This happened about a month ago.

00:39:09.000 Here is Jerry Nadler.

00:39:11.000 You disavowed the violence from Antifa?

00:39:14.000 That's happening in Portland right now?

00:39:15.000 That's a myth that's being spread only in Washington, D.C.

00:39:19.000 About Antifa in Portland?

00:39:21.000 Yes.

00:39:21.000 Sir, there's videos everywhere online.

00:39:23.000 There's fires and riots.

00:39:24.000 They're throwing fireworks at federal officers.

00:39:28.000 DHS is there.

00:39:29.000 Look online.

00:39:30.000 It gets crazy.

00:39:31.000 Yeah, they're just hobbling over to the car and getting in.

00:39:33.000 Catch you later.

00:39:33.000 Catch you later, gang.

00:39:35.000 I mean, and it's not just a month ago.

00:39:37.000 It's like now.

00:39:38.000 Okay, so Joy Reid, who again, it's amazing.

00:39:40.000 She ends up with a show on MSNBC.

00:39:42.000 MSNBC is willing to cancel anybody except people who may very well, I mean, Al Sharpton still has a show on MSNBC, right?

00:39:48.000 Joy Reid, a person who has a bunch of old tweets that were real bad, but apparently somebody went back in time and hacked her account.

00:39:54.000 She tweeted out over the weekend, over this weekend, let me repeat this for those inventing the idea of Black Lives Matter riots.

00:40:00.000 Let me just stop there for one second.

00:40:01.000 Literally, Nicole Hannah-Jones, the de facto editor of the New York Times and 1619 Project Lady, she literally tweeted out that she was happy that people were calling them the 1619 riots.

00:40:12.000 But according to, go back to, go back for a second to Joy Reid. 1.00

00:40:16.000 According to Joy Reid, she said, it's an invented idea.

00:40:18.000 There are no Black Lives Matter riots.

00:40:20.000 She says, BLM doesn't riot.

00:40:22.000 They march against police violence.

00:40:23.000 Note that those caught setting fires, assaulting and shooting people are consistently of the right, not the left.

00:40:30.000 Okay.

00:40:32.000 What?

00:40:34.000 Huh?

00:40:36.000 What?

00:40:38.000 I was here in L.A. 0.99

00:40:39.000 when they shut down the entire damned city every night at 6 p.m. 0.98

00:40:42.000 or 7 p.m. 0.99

00:40:43.000 thanks to BLM rioting.

00:40:45.000 That was rioting and looting.

00:40:47.000 What is she talking about?

00:40:49.000 It's not happening.

00:40:50.000 It's all in your imagination.

00:40:50.000 Poof.

00:40:51.000 Okay, so they have a couple of narratives here.

00:40:53.000 One, BLM doesn't riot.

00:40:54.000 Two, Antifa doesn't exist.

00:40:55.000 Three, if they do exist, it's Donald Trump's fault. 0.99

00:40:57.000 Four, the real violent offenders here are the white nationalists. 1.00

00:41:00.000 Hey, this is crazy towns. 1.00

00:41:02.000 Crazy. 1.00

00:41:03.000 They think you're a moron. 1.00

00:41:04.000 That's what they think. 1.00

00:41:05.000 There's no other way to explain this garbage. 1.00

00:41:07.000 They think you are completely stupid. 1.00

00:41:08.000 They think you are a vegetable. 1.00

00:41:10.000 That's what they think.

00:41:11.000 Chris Chilesa.

00:41:13.000 Ratio Bane, as we tend to call him on Twitter.

00:41:15.000 Because he's constantly getting ratioed.

00:41:16.000 He's incredible at it.

00:41:17.000 Chris Chilesa from CNN tweeted this out.

00:41:20.000 He tweeted, Trump's efforts to label what is happening in major cities as riots speaks at least somewhat to his desperation, politically speaking, at the moment.

00:41:28.000 Now, all credit to the CNN editor who apparently also hates Chris Chilisa and wanted to troll the living hell out of him, because the picture is of people standing in front of a burning building.

00:41:36.000 There are no riots.

00:41:40.000 It's just Trump keeps labeling them riots.

00:41:42.000 But really, it's just peaceful protests in which a bunch of stuff gets burned and people lose their life savings and in which some 30 people have died.

00:41:49.000 I mean, sure.

00:41:50.000 Other than that, there are no riots at all.

00:41:52.000 Poof.

00:41:53.000 Poof.

00:41:54.000 OK, and then these same media.

00:41:57.000 Remember, never forget that these same media members of the Democratic Party forwarded this stuff.

00:42:01.000 They did.

00:42:01.000 OK, The Washington Post.

00:42:05.000 Less than a month ago, in the second week of August, published a glowing photo essay featuring Antifa protesters in Portland.

00:42:13.000 They literally published pictures of how Antifa looters and rioters and criminals dress.

00:42:21.000 The piece, this is the Federalist reporting, authored by post-protest reporter Marissa Lang, prominently highlights testimony from several Portland activists sharing their one-sided experiences painting police as violent agents of an oppressive state with no mention of the word riot.

00:42:35.000 According to Lange, protesters merely directed their anger at the federal courthouse.

00:42:38.000 But here's the thing.

00:42:40.000 Everybody looked great.

00:42:42.000 The post-photo essay attempted to capture glory of the self-righteous organizers terrorizing the city by weaving in professional photos of the story subjects donning their riot gear as if it were a Maxim photoshoot.

00:42:53.000 It was really, really nice.

00:42:54.000 They showed all the kind of gear that they got together and how they got dressed up.

00:42:59.000 The media soft-pedaled Antifa for a long time here.

00:43:02.000 Like, for a really long time.

00:43:03.000 How much did they soft-pedal Antifa?

00:43:07.000 Kamala Harris literally tweeted out, in the middle of the riots in Minneapolis, Kamala Harris tweeted out a website so you could donate to free people who are arrested for rioting and looting.

00:43:19.000 This June 1st, quote, Kamala Harris, the now vice presidential candidate, quote, if you're able to, chip in now to the Minnesota Freedom Fund to help post bail for those protesting on the ground in Minnesota.

00:43:29.000 So she wanted to bail out rioters and looters.

00:43:31.000 Okay, so don't fall for this nonsense.

00:43:34.000 By the way, 13 members of Biden's staff directly contributed to this as well.

00:43:39.000 And this was reported at the time.

00:43:41.000 May 30th.

00:43:41.000 Reuters.

00:43:43.000 Campaign staff for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden are advertising their donations to a group that pays bail fees in Minneapolis after the city's police jailed people protesting the killing of a black man by a white police officer.

00:43:53.000 No, they jailed people who were rioting and looting.

00:43:56.000 At least 13 Biden campaign staff members posted on Twitter on Friday and Saturday that they made donations to the Minnesota Freedom Fund, which opposes the practice of cash bail.

00:44:04.000 The group uses donations to pay bail fees in Minneapolis.

00:44:08.000 Biden campaign spokesman Andrew Bates said in a statement to Reuters, the former VP opposes cash bail as, quote, a modern day debtor's prison.

00:44:16.000 But the campaign declined to answer questions on whether the donations were coordinated within the campaign.

00:44:21.000 Bates instead pointed to Biden's comments that protesters have the right to be angry, but that more violence won't solve justice problems.

00:44:26.000 Ah, there's that soft Joe Biden.

00:44:28.000 There's that unity that we've been looking for.

00:44:30.000 Okay, so, and again, the media have been pushing this stuff nonstop.

00:44:33.000 Nicole Hannah-Jones, who I mentioned earlier, the de facto editor of the New York Times, she tweeted this out over the weekend.

00:44:38.000 Quote, so, one, you don't get to tell people how they should respond to their own oppression.

00:44:43.000 Okay, so there are a few assumptions baked into that cake, which is that if you're rioting and looting, you're responding to oppression rather than being a terrible human being.

00:44:52.000 That's the part of this tweet that's truly offensive.

00:44:54.000 And she said, too, please, please help me understand how black people who protest peacefully are supposed to control and take responsibility for the tiny fringe of people who decide to loot and burn things. 1.00

00:45:02.000 Okay, weird, because, um, Nikole Hannah-Jones literally blames entire police departments and, by the way, right-wing protests for anything bad that happens involving those groups.

00:45:10.000 So, yes, Nikole Hannah-Jones, the wisest and greatest among us.

00:45:14.000 So they've been soft-pedaling this stuff for a long time, and this is the new narrative.

00:45:17.000 So the narrative is that it's anybody's fault but Antifa.

00:45:20.000 It's anybody's fault but BLM. 1.00

00:45:22.000 Adam Schiff leads the way.

00:45:23.000 So Adam Schiff, who again, I guess he still has that bereft pup tent outside the CNN headquarters, right?

00:45:28.000 He's on CNN more than Dana Bash.

00:45:30.000 And Dana Bash is a network anchor. 1.00

00:45:32.000 So Adam Schiff, the ridiculous, stupid congressperson from Los Angeles. 1.00

00:45:37.000 I believe he may be my congressperson, actually, who specifically suggested for several years that there was forthcoming evidence that Trump was a Russian cat's paw. 1.00

00:45:46.000 Now he is saying that actually, maybe it's the Russians behind this!

00:45:49.000 Maybe it's the Russians, guys! 1.00

00:45:50.000 It can't be Antifa or BLM, after all.

00:45:52.000 It's Trump's fault, and it's the Russians' fault. 1.00

00:45:53.000 Why, it's almost as though he has a preset narrative.

00:45:55.000 Here's Adam Schiff.

00:45:58.000 The Russians four years ago, Diana, exploited Black Lives Matter. 0.96

00:46:01.000 They set up their own false flags online to try to divide people along racial lines.

00:46:08.000 Are they doing it now?

00:46:10.000 They are once again doing their best in social media, in their overt media and other means to grow these divisions again.

00:46:19.000 The president is willfully fanning the flames of this violence.

00:46:23.000 He will stoke it through his social media where he can, because he believes the violence helps him.

00:46:29.000 This is the greatest form of gaslighting I've ever seen.

00:46:31.000 He's offered federal troops to every major American city to quell the violence, and the Democrats are out there like, oh, it's the Russians and Trump.

00:46:38.000 Is it unbelievable? 1.00

00:46:38.000 Again, if you fall for this, you're a moron. 1.00

00:46:40.000 If you fall for this, you're a stupid human being. 1.00

00:46:42.000 You have less than three brain cells to rub together if you fall for this. 1.00

00:46:45.000 This is extortion by the Democrats, pure and simple, and then gaslighting following the extortion.

00:46:50.000 If Biden gets elected, it'll all go away.

00:46:51.000 But also, it's not our fault.

00:46:52.000 We have no control.

00:46:53.000 It's Trump's fault.

00:46:54.000 And also, the group is doing it mostly white nationalists. 1.00

00:46:55.000 The reason I point this out is Joe, I mean, this is such pathetic stuff. 0.95

00:46:59.000 So Joe Biden has now put out a couple of statements on this.

00:47:04.000 Joe Biden has put out a couple of statements When it came to this particular thing, he suggested that, number one, he conflates the protesters and the rioters and looters, which is typical Democratic doublespeak, right?

00:47:15.000 He says that Trump wanted to stick feds on protesters, right?

00:47:18.000 So he's just denying that the people who are actually doing this sort of stuff are rioters and looters.

00:47:23.000 Here was Biden over the weekend.

00:47:25.000 By standing and recommending that you should be deployed to, quote, dominate your fellow citizens for exercising their rights to peacefully protest.

00:47:36.000 And threatening if governors didn't do something, the president would.

00:47:42.000 No, you specifically talking about rioters and looters. 1.00

00:47:44.000 So Biden's a damn liar on this. 1.00

00:47:46.000 OK, so Biden has now released. 1.00

00:47:47.000 We have a couple of statements from Joe Biden, quote.

00:47:50.000 Now, remember, the bad guy was Donald Trump in Charlottesville because he said many sides, many sides.

00:47:54.000 Here is the statement from Joe Biden, quote, The deadly violence we saw overnight in Portland is unacceptable.

00:47:58.000 Shooting in the streets of a great American city is unacceptable.

00:48:01.000 I condemn this violence unequivocally.

00:48:03.000 I condemn violence of every kind by anyone, whether on the left or the right, and I challenge Donald Trump to do the same.

00:48:08.000 It does not matter if you find the political views of your opponents abhorrent.

00:48:11.000 Any loss of life is a tragedy.

00:48:13.000 Today, there is another family grieving in America, and Jill and I offer our deepest condolences.

00:48:17.000 We must not become a country at war with ourselves, a country that accepts the killing of fellow Americans who do not agree with you, a country that vows vengeance toward one another, but that is the America that Donald Trump wants us to be, the America he believes we are.

00:48:27.000 So it's Trump's fault!

00:48:29.000 You'll notice.

00:48:30.000 Is there a mention of Antifa?

00:48:31.000 No.

00:48:32.000 Is there a mention there of Black Lives Matter?

00:48:33.000 No.

00:48:34.000 He continues, as a country, we must condemn the incitement of hate and resentment that led to this deadly clash.

00:48:39.000 It is not a peaceful protest when you go out spoiling for a fight.

00:48:43.000 Oh, how interesting.

00:48:44.000 It's not a peaceful protest when you go out spoiling for a fight.

00:48:46.000 We showed video on this very show today of a Black Lives Matter activist literally calling for the murder of police officers in the burning down of the White House.

00:48:53.000 Is that a peaceful protest, Joe Biden?

00:48:54.000 I don't hear you saying anything about it.

00:48:56.000 Seems like you're being kind of deliberately vague here.

00:48:59.000 What does President Trump think will happen when he continues to insist on fanning the flames of hatred and division in our society and using the politics of fear to whip up his supporters?

00:49:08.000 What?

00:49:09.000 The reason people are fearful is because the cities are on damned fire. 0.96

00:49:13.000 And they're on fire because Democrats have done nothing. 0.97

00:49:15.000 These are all Democratic cities, every single one of them.

00:49:18.000 Joe Biden's vague, mush-mouthed statements that he can barely get out of his face about how he doesn't like violence on any side, on many sides, on many sides.

00:49:25.000 If on many sides was bad for Donald Trump, it ain't any better for Joe Biden. 1.00

00:49:28.000 Ridiculous hypocrite. 1.00

00:49:30.000 He says he may think that war in our streets. 1.00

00:49:31.000 Again, he's blaming Trump, right?

00:49:33.000 There's not a mention of Antifa, not a mention of BLM, the sources of this.

00:49:36.000 Not one mention.

00:49:38.000 But Donald Trump comes up several times in this statement.

00:49:41.000 He may think that war in our streets is good for his re-election chances, but that is not presidential leadership or even basic human compassion.

00:49:46.000 Again, he has offered federal forces to every one of these mayors who have all turned him down.

00:49:51.000 Where is Joe Biden on this?

00:49:52.000 The answer is nowhere.

00:49:54.000 He says the job of a president is to lower the temperature, to bring people who disagree with one another together, to make life better for all Americans.

00:50:00.000 The temperature in the country is too high because of Donald Trump.

00:50:02.000 Okay, so that was one of Biden's statements.

00:50:04.000 Then, there's another one of Joe Biden's statements.

00:50:07.000 Okay, so this one is even worse.

00:50:09.000 So Joe Biden won't go to Kenosha.

00:50:11.000 The reason he won't go to Kenosha is because he understands what that would look like.

00:50:15.000 Right.

00:50:15.000 So this is the big story over the weekend is that Joe Biden, in fact, will not go to Kenosha, Wisconsin.

00:50:20.000 Instead, he's heading over to Pennsylvania.

00:50:23.000 So according to Politico, Joe Biden will travel to western Pennsylvania on Monday to give remarks focused on how President Donald Trump has made America less safe, forgoing the chance to deliver that message in Wisconsin, where the president is planning a Tuesday visit.

00:50:35.000 Biden faced mounting pressure to visit the battleground state amid violence after a police shooting in Kenosha.

00:50:39.000 His decision to instead speak from Pennsylvania is designed to put some space between the violence and the former VP, as he continues to argue that unrest is an outgrowth of the president's rhetoric that inflames racial tension.

00:50:51.000 Biden's speech Monday will focus on how Trump continues to fan the flames of division and encourage chaos. 0.98

00:50:56.000 And so the real reason he's not going to Kenosha, Biden, is because he's a coward.

00:50:59.000 It's because Joe Biden would show up in Kenosha, there'd be a backdrop of a burned city, and he'd be forced to argue that somehow this was Trump's fault in an area where the rioters are all BLM and Antifa. 0.52

00:51:11.000 He'd have to argue that somehow this was Trump.

00:51:13.000 That's not a good look when the area behind you has been burned out by people who backed Joe Biden.

00:51:17.000 Every one of those people is a Joe Biden voter.

00:51:19.000 The people who are burning down buildings, the people who are rioting and looting are Joe Biden voters.

00:51:23.000 So Biden knew that, which is why he's not showing up in Kenosha.

00:51:26.000 So naturally, he has to have the Democrats play cleanup for him in Wisconsin.

00:51:32.000 Which means that the governor of Wisconsin, Tony Evers, sent a letter to President Trump asking him to not go to Kenosha.

00:51:40.000 So let me get this straight.

00:51:41.000 It's Trump's fault because he won't calm tensions.

00:51:43.000 Also, we don't want your federal troops also don't come to Kenosha.

00:51:46.000 Seriously, this is their case.

00:51:48.000 It's Trump's fault that all this is happening despite the fact he offered 500 additional National Guardsmen before Kenosha went completely crazy and the shootings occurred.

00:51:56.000 Despite the fact that he routinely offers troops to Portland.

00:51:59.000 Nothing.

00:52:00.000 But if Trump shows up, it's bad.

00:52:02.000 And if Trump tries to send troops, that's bad.

00:52:04.000 Trump is the bad man, right?

00:52:05.000 Obviously, it's Trump's fault. 1.00

00:52:06.000 Tony Evers, this ridiculous, stupid governor of Wisconsin who's responsible for this stuff. 1.00

00:52:11.000 Again, he's the governor of a state. 1.00

00:52:12.000 You have one job.

00:52:13.000 Protect the life, liberty, and property of your citizens.

00:52:15.000 That's it.

00:52:15.000 That is your sole job.

00:52:16.000 And he's not doing it.

00:52:17.000 Tony Evers sent this letter to President Trump.

00:52:19.000 Because again, it's all about Trump for Democrats.

00:52:20.000 It is not about protecting the citizenry.

00:52:23.000 It is not about protecting the citizenry.

00:52:25.000 Here's the letter Tony Evers sent to Trump, because Trump said he's going to come speak in Kenosha.

00:52:30.000 Dear President Trump, I understand yesterday you indicated you would be visiting Kenosha.

00:52:33.000 And according to pool reports last night, you intend to visit Kenosha this Tuesday.

00:52:36.000 I write today to respectfully ask you to reconsider these past few months from managing a pandemic to facing entrenched racial disparities and inequities.

00:52:43.000 Our state, like so many others, has faced unimaginable challenges.

00:52:46.000 challenges. But this past week has been particularly difficult. Kenosha and communities across Wisconsin are enduring extraordinary grief, grappling with a black man being shot seven times and the loss of two additional lives on Tuesday night at the hands of an out-of-state armed militant.

00:52:59.000 Okay, well, you're missing a few facts there, Tony Evers.

00:53:02.000 You might be missing the fact that the man who was shot, the black man who was shot seven times, was actively resisting arrest.

00:53:09.000 There was an open warrant for both domestic abuse and sexual assault that the police tried to subdue him.

00:53:14.000 He refused to be subdued.

00:53:15.000 They chased him twice.

00:53:16.000 That failed.

00:53:16.000 He walked around the other side of the car.

00:53:18.000 He reached into the car and on the floorboards of the driver's side was a knife.

00:53:22.000 That's a little bit relevant.

00:53:24.000 And the shootings at the quote-unquote hands of an out-of-state armed militant, Kyle Rittenber- Kyle Rittenber- whatever the guy's name is.

00:53:31.000 Rittenhouse.

00:53:32.000 Kyle Rittenhouse should not have been there.

00:53:34.000 Okay?

00:53:35.000 I've said that myself.

00:53:36.000 He's not a trained person.

00:53:37.000 He shouldn't have been there.

00:53:39.000 The shootings are pretty obviously self-defense.

00:53:42.000 He was being assaulted at the time.

00:53:43.000 Somebody fired a shot before he even fired the first shot and then somebody tried to beat the hell out of him and another guy approached him with a pistol.

00:53:49.000 Okay, so just skipping all the facts right here because obviously the narrative is that the real violence is not what was happening in Kenosha before Kyle Rittenhouse even showed up.

00:53:58.000 The real violence was apparently the cops and the out-of-state armed guy.

00:54:04.000 When I visited Kenosha last week, what I saw was a community working to deal with the trauma and pain of these events and extreme loss.

00:54:08.000 This again, the governor of Wisconsin.

00:54:10.000 They are exhausted and heartbroken with the division that has ripped apart their community, but they are also working to rebuild together and support each other in the face of adversity.

00:54:17.000 I, along with other community leaders who have reached out, are concerned about what your presence will mean for Kenosha and our state.

00:54:23.000 I am concerned your presence will only hinder our healing.

00:54:25.000 I am concerned your presence will only delay our work to overcome division and move forward together.

00:54:29.000 Ah, yeah, it's Trump that's the problem in Kenosha.

00:54:31.000 Got it.

00:54:32.000 It is our job as elected officials to lead by example and be a calming present.

00:54:36.000 Now is not the time for divisiveness.

00:54:39.000 Well, now would be the time for you to have called federal troops in weeks ago.

00:54:42.000 Now is not the time for elected officials to ignore armed militias and out-of-state instigators who want to contribute to our anguish.

00:54:48.000 Ignore armed militants?

00:54:49.000 Hmm.

00:54:50.000 Weird.

00:54:50.000 Ignoring armed militants.

00:54:51.000 So, I have some stats, by the way, on who was just arrested in Kenosha.

00:54:55.000 Okay, here are the stats on who was arrested in Kenosha.

00:54:58.000 175 people arrested last week.

00:54:59.000 102 have home addresses outside Kenosha.

00:55:02.000 So who's ignoring the outside agitators, actually?

00:55:04.000 It seems like... Governor Tony Evers!

00:55:06.000 34 for curfew plus other charges like burglary, drugs and weapons and over 20 firearms seized.

00:55:10.000 So who's ignoring the outside agitators actually? It seems like Governor Tony Evers.

00:55:15.000 So of course it's Trump's fault. He says I urge you to revisit your decision to visit Kenosha on Tuesday.

00:55:22.000 Thanks for your time and for consideration of this request.

00:55:24.000 Again, it's all Trump's fault.

00:55:25.000 So Biden won't go to Kenosha because it would be humiliating for him. 0.98

00:55:28.000 It would look ridiculous.

00:55:29.000 And so now you got the governor saying Trump can't come to Kenosha because that would be embarrassing for Democrats, really, is what they're saying. 0.67

00:55:35.000 And then Wisconsin Lieutenant Governor went on national TV, said the same thing.

00:55:38.000 Trump shouldn't show up because really this is kind of Trump's fault, isn't it?

00:55:43.000 You look at the incendiary remarks that the president has made.

00:55:47.000 They centered an entire convention around creating more animosity and creating more division around what's going on in Kenosha.

00:55:56.000 So I don't know how, given any of the previous statements that the president made, that he intends to come here to be helpful.

00:56:04.000 And we absolutely don't need that right now.

00:56:06.000 No, what we need is apparently a complete lack of law enforcement and you ripping on the cops daily. 0.99

00:56:10.000 This is the same lieutenant governor who just days ago suggested no investigation is necessary in the Jacob Blake case to conclude that this is just another incident of a black man being unjustifiably shot.

00:56:20.000 Yeah, well, that's more of what we need.

00:56:22.000 Clearly.

00:56:23.000 Okay, so all of this leads to what Joe Biden is actually going to say today.

00:56:26.000 So he is speaking in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and here is his speech prepared for delivery.

00:56:30.000 You ready for this?

00:56:31.000 Remember, again, I'm gonna keep coming back to it because it is worthy of note.

00:56:36.000 The single moment that supposedly initiated the Biden campaign was the evil of Donald Trump at Charlottesville for not labeling the alt-right and the white supremacists from the outset as the bad guys, right?

00:56:48.000 Many sides, many sides.

00:56:50.000 Here is Joe Biden on the riots and the looting and the murder.

00:56:54.000 Here is Joe Biden.

00:56:55.000 You ready?

00:56:56.000 This president long ago forfeited any moral leadership in this country.

00:56:59.000 He can't stop the violence because for years he has fomented it.

00:57:03.000 He may believe mouthing the words law and order makes him strong, but his failure to call on his own supporters to stop acting as an armed militia in this country shows you how weak he is.

00:57:11.000 Oh, it's the militias!

00:57:13.000 For months we've been watching the cities burn, but it's the militias who are just arriving in the last five minutes who are the problem.

00:57:19.000 Oh, wow, this is galaxy brain stuff.

00:57:22.000 Does anyone believe there will be less violence in America if Donald Trump is reelected?

00:57:25.000 You're saying the quiet part out loud now, Joe, which is that you're basically pledging that the violence won't end until Trump is out of office.

00:57:32.000 He says economic devastation, unwarranted police violence, emboldened white nationalists, a reckoning on race.

00:57:40.000 Look at the gaslighting there.

00:57:41.000 Look at the gaslighting there.

00:57:42.000 Economic devastation.

00:57:43.000 Economic devastation has been wrought largely by Democratic governors completely shutting down their states with no end in sight in the middle of the COVID pandemic.

00:57:50.000 Unwarranted police violence.

00:57:52.000 Okay, again, has he made the case that the police violence in Kenosha was unwarranted?

00:57:57.000 No.

00:57:57.000 Has he bothered?

00:57:58.000 No.

00:57:58.000 How about Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta?

00:58:00.000 No.

00:58:01.000 How about Breonna Taylor? 0.97

00:58:02.000 Has he mentioned the illegality there?

00:58:04.000 It may be a tragedy, but it was not illegal.

00:58:06.000 Like, the real problem, though, is unwarranted police violence.

00:58:10.000 We have seen rioting for months on end in major cities.

00:58:14.000 And we've got unwarranted police violence labeled here.

00:58:16.000 Emboldened white nationalists.

00:58:17.000 Oh, that's because what we're watching in the cities is white nationalists, not Black Lives Matter. 0.97

00:58:22.000 Rioters and looters and agitators trying to beat up Rand Paul and shouting at people coming out of the White House.

00:58:28.000 And what do we get?

00:58:29.000 A reckoning on race.

00:58:29.000 Ah, it's a reckoning, guys.

00:58:34.000 Again, remember, this isn't even on many sides on many sides.

00:58:36.000 He's explicitly saying one side is good and one side is bad.

00:58:38.000 And the people who are doing the rioting and looting are the good guys.

00:58:41.000 And everybody else is just agitating them.

00:58:42.000 That is the big problem here.

00:58:44.000 That is incredible stuff from Joe Biden.

00:58:46.000 And this is the guy calming the tensions?

00:58:48.000 This is the guy calming the tensions? 0.96

00:58:51.000 Not one member of the media, not one, will have the balls to ask Joe Biden to condemn, by name, Antifa or BLM rioters and looters. 0.87

00:58:57.000 Not one. 1.00

00:58:58.000 Instead, they'll just let him get away with this mealy-mouthed bullshit. 1.00

00:59:01.000 They'll just let him get away with it. 0.99

00:59:03.000 This mealy-mouthed nonsense, where he just says things like, well, you know, what this really is, is the white nationalist militias, and it's really about Trump, and it's really about, like, everybody on all sides.

00:59:13.000 They'll let him get away with it because they agree with the agenda.

00:59:15.000 How do I know they agree with the agenda?

00:59:16.000 Because they started repeating it over the weekend.

00:59:18.000 So Chuck Todd literally went on TV over the weekend and asked Mark Meadows, the chief of staff to President Trump, isn't this Donald Trump's America?

00:59:25.000 So just to get this straight, just to get this straight, when Andrew Cuomo is being hailed as a hero, it's Andrew Cuomo's New York.

00:59:33.000 And when Mayor Ted Wheeler is turning down federal help, it's Mayor Ted Wheeler's heroism against Donald Trump.

00:59:37.000 But when violence occurs in these cities, then it's Donald Trump's America.

00:59:41.000 Here is Chuck Todd suggesting this is all Donald Trump's America.

00:59:44.000 Weird, because these are all Democratic cities who hate Donald Trump.

00:59:48.000 Here is Chuck Todd repeating the narrative.

00:59:49.000 Repeat and believe, everyone.

00:59:52.000 This is in Donald Trump's America.

00:59:54.000 How much responsibility should voters be giving the president for his inability to keep the streets safe?

01:00:04.000 Is there parts of the country that the president doesn't govern?

01:00:07.000 I mean, is the president only in charge of places where he has supporters?

01:00:13.000 Does the president not believe he has responsibility of governing and leading the entire country?

01:00:18.000 He's tried!

01:00:19.000 He offered federal help, and then you called him a fascist!

01:00:22.000 You and the media called him a fascist!

01:00:24.000 You can't have it both ways, that's not how this works!

01:00:26.000 You don't get to say Trump has to handle this, and then Trump says, okay, you want the troops?

01:00:29.000 Here are the troops. 1.00

01:00:30.000 You're like, no, we don't want the troops, you're a fascist! 0.99

01:00:32.000 But it's your fault! 0.97

01:00:35.000 Okay, and then it was Dana Bash too.

01:00:36.000 Isn't Trump inflaming the tensions?

01:00:38.000 He just keeps inflaming the tensions.

01:00:39.000 He's inflaming the tensions.

01:00:40.000 You in the media have repeated for months, there is no rioting.

01:00:43.000 There is no looting.

01:00:44.000 It's magically not occurring.

01:00:45.000 It's all in your imagination.

01:00:46.000 These are mostly peaceful protests.

01:00:48.000 CNN ran a chyron last week.

01:00:51.000 Fiery, but mostly peaceful protests.

01:00:53.000 Fiery, but mostly peaceful protests. 1.00

01:00:55.000 Chris Chilesa, your idiot media analyst, put out a statement on Twitter yesterday saying that these are not riots and that Trump is making up the riots. 0.99

01:01:04.000 But it's the Republicans emboldening these people? 1.00

01:01:06.000 I have a question.

01:01:08.000 Who in BLM is listening to Ron Johnson, the senator from Wisconsin?

01:01:12.000 Who from BLM is like, well, you know, now that Ron Johnson said something, I guess I'm going to go burn some stuff down.

01:01:16.000 Like, what in the world?

01:01:18.000 But the media are going to repeat this because, again, repeat and believe.

01:01:22.000 I want to talk about what happened in Portland.

01:01:24.000 We saw someone get killed overnight amid clashes there, and the president has been tweeting and retweeting before dawn this morning.

01:01:33.000 He called for the mayor of Portland to resign and be arrested.

01:01:37.000 He painted protesters as thugs and cities in chaos.

01:01:41.000 You are the chairman, as I mentioned, of the Senate Homeland Security Committee.

01:01:45.000 Are you comfortable With the president appearing to inflame tensions instead of what we normally see from presidents, which is trying to calm them down.

01:01:53.000 Riders and looters are thugs. 0.94

01:01:55.000 They are. 0.53

01:01:57.000 Now, there's a strain on the left that actually that actually touts this stuff, like openly touts it.

01:02:01.000 Over the weekend, there's an article from NPR.

01:02:04.000 It was called One Author's Argument in Defense of Looting.

01:02:07.000 There's an actual book by a writer named Vicky Osterweil called In Defense of Looting.

01:02:12.000 And Vicky Osterweil said, quote, when I use the word looting, I mean, this was NPR, right?

01:02:17.000 You're publicly funded NPR.

01:02:18.000 When I use the word looting, I mean the mass expropriation of property, mass shoplifting during a moment of upheaval or riot.

01:02:25.000 That's the thing I'm defending.

01:02:26.000 I'm not defending any situation in which property is stolen by force.

01:02:29.000 That's literally property being stolen by force.

01:02:31.000 If you break into a Walmart and steal stuff, that doesn't make it not robbery.

01:02:37.000 It's not a home invasion either, says Vicky Osterweil.

01:02:40.000 It's about a certain kind of action that's taken during protests and riots.

01:02:43.000 Looting is a highly racialized word from its very inception.

01:02:46.000 It's taken from the Hindi, loot, which means goods or spoils.

01:02:49.000 So apparently even you say looting, now you're a racist.

01:02:51.000 Rioting generally refers to any moment of mass unrest or upheaval.

01:02:54.000 Riots are a space in which a mass of people has produced a situation in which the general laws that govern society no longer function.

01:03:01.000 And people can act in different ways in the street and in public.

01:03:04.000 I'd say that rioting is a broader category, says Vicky Osterweil, interviewed by NPR over the weekend, in which looting appears as a tactic.

01:03:10.000 Often, looting is more common among movements that are coming from below.

01:03:13.000 It tends to be an attack on a business, a commercial space, maybe a government building, taking those things that otherwise would be commodified and controlled and sharing them for free.

01:03:20.000 See, it's good!

01:03:21.000 It's good!

01:03:23.000 Now, you'll note something.

01:03:24.000 The people who are constantly saying this stuff is good, making excuses for it, are either radicals, like the BLM organization, Or, they are upper-class white people who do not give a damn about the quality of life of people who are more impoverished than they are, largely minority, who are desperately aching for some level of law and order and protection of private property and life in their community.

01:03:47.000 So, Vic Yastrow has asked that.

01:03:49.000 Somebody asked, during recent riots, a sentiment I heard was that looters in cities like Minneapolis were hurting their own cause by destroying small businesses in their own neighborhoods, stores owned by immigrants and people of color.

01:03:58.000 What would you say to people who make that argument?

01:04:00.000 People who made that argument for Minneapolis, says Vicky Osterweil, weren't suddenly celebrating the looters in Chicago, who drove down to the richest part of Chicago, the Magnificent Mile, and attacked places like Tesla and Gucci, because it's not really about that.

01:04:11.000 It's a convenient way of positioning yourself, as though you are sympathetic.

01:04:14.000 But looters and rioters don't attack private homes.

01:04:16.000 They don't attack community centers.

01:04:18.000 In Minneapolis, there was a small independent bookstore that was untouched.

01:04:21.000 All the blocks around it were basically looted or even leveled, burned down.

01:04:24.000 And that store just remained untouched through weeks of rioting.

01:04:27.000 You want to know why the bookstore didn't get burned down?

01:04:28.000 Because nobody's stealing books!

01:04:31.000 They're stealing TVs!

01:04:33.000 If you're a looter, you're gonna go right to the used bookstore?

01:04:35.000 You're gonna pick up a first edition?

01:04:39.000 Of like, a place in the sun?

01:04:41.000 Like, what are you talking about?

01:04:43.000 To say you're attacking your own community is to say to rioters you don't know what you're doing.

01:04:46.000 But I disagree.

01:04:47.000 I think people know.

01:04:50.000 Amazing.

01:04:51.000 Okay, so this has been going on on a fairly low level and tut-tutted on a high level by the Democrats for literally years, now being promoted on NPR openly.

01:04:59.000 There's an article in 2014 at Time Magazine called In Defense of Violent Protests.

01:05:03.000 There's an article in The Nation that came out, I believe 2016, titled In Defense of Destroying Property.

01:05:12.000 They don't care, okay?

01:05:12.000 This has been actively fomented.

01:05:14.000 And now, the line, the corrective line is, well, it's all Trump's fault.

01:05:18.000 Maybe it's the Russians. 1.00

01:05:19.000 Maybe it's the white supremacists.

01:05:21.000 No, the answer is, you want to tut-tut and poo-poo the rioting and the looting in America's major cities because you agree with the cause.

01:05:28.000 If you agree with the cause, it's just a question of means, not a question of ends.

01:05:30.000 And the last thing you want to do is alienate people who may vote for Joe Biden because they're members of BLM or sympathetic to Antifa.

01:05:36.000 And that's repulsive and disgusting. 0.99

01:05:38.000 And anybody who fails to call this out or fall for Joe Biden's garbage statements about how this is really about widespread American discontent, or it's about Trump, or it's really about white supremacists. 1.00

01:05:48.000 It's because you want to be a fool. 1.00

01:05:50.000 It's because you want to be fooled. 0.99

01:05:51.000 You either want to be fooled because you're a soft liberal who hates Trump, and so you want Biden elected, and so you're willing to overlook all of this stuff, or because you're a hard leftist who actually sort of agrees with Antifa and BLM, and all evil can be wrapped up in a Trump flag.

01:06:04.000 Alrighty, we'll be back here later today with two additional hours of content, including some COVID content we didn't get to because it's actually fairly important.

01:06:11.000 Otherwise, we'll see you here tomorrow.
