00:07:39.000 I told them that during premarital counseling, I had spoken to my ex fiance about the abuse because I had to explain to him why I reacted with such terror anytime he lost his temper.

00:07:50.000 Besides, I'd written about it in my diary in detail, they reassured.
00:07:53.000 As the weeks dragged on, I stopped trying to give them evidence because the amount I'd already given them seemed to overwhelm them.

00:08:02.000 My friends might not have known the details of the abuse, but they affirmed that yes, I had told them he was abusive long before he ran for Senate.
