The Ben Shapiro Show - Ep. 136 - Obama Wants To Make Sure You Don't Know Orlando Was Jihadism

00:00:00.000 While the Obama administration worked to hide the Orlando jihadist's allegiance to ISIS, and Hillary Clinton labored very hard to avoid criminal investigation over her email scandal, Donald Trump was busy detonating yet another bombshell inside his own campaign headquarters, because that's what the man does.

00:00:17.000 On Monday morning, the campaign announced that campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, who was arrested a couple of months ago for simple battery on campaign reporter Michelle Fields by police before prosecutors decided not to move forward, they announced he was now out.

00:00:29.000 Here was the Trump statement, obviously dictated by Donald with his usual flair, but released by spokeswoman Hope Hicks.

00:00:36.000 The Donald J. Trump campaign for president, which has set a historic record in the Republican primary, having received almost 14 million votes, has today announced that Corey Lewandowski will no longer be working with the campaign.

00:00:48.000 The campaign is grateful to Corey for his hard work and dedication, and we wish him the best in the future." 0.91

00:00:54.000 Hicks, of course, had a longstanding beef with Lewandowski, and she wasn't the only one.

00:00:58.000 Apparently Kremlin-connected hire Paul Manafort also could not stand Lewandowski, and he's now taking over the campaign like it's Crimea.

00:01:06.000 Nobody else could stand Lewandowski either.

00:01:08.000 Here's what Trump's senior campaign advisor Michael Caputo tweeted.

00:01:14.000 Ouch.

00:01:15.000 All of this is certainly a change.

00:01:17.000 Trump had defended Lewandowski strenuously.

00:01:19.000 He said he was innocent.

00:01:20.000 He said he would not fire somebody with a beautiful wife and beautiful children.

00:01:23.000 He talked up Lewandowski's bravery in saving his life from Michelle Field's little pen bomb.

00:01:28.000 The decision to throw his hands-on campaign manager under the Trump train came rather suddenly, apparently.

00:01:33.000 NBC News reported a Trump staffer called it, quote, Another campaign source told Time reporter Zeke Miller, quote,

00:01:44.000 Reporters quickly poured in that Ivanka Trump was behind the Lewandowski hit.

00:01:50.000 Apparently, according to NBC News' Katie Tur, quote, Ivanka had been particularly unhappy with Lewandowski and has felt that way for months.

00:01:56.000 The Michelle Fields incident put her over the top, but it took time for her and the family to convince Trump he needed to dump Lewandowski.

00:02:03.000 While he was winning, there was no need to change.

00:02:06.000 There are also rumors, by the way, that Lewandowski had attempted to drop nasty stories about Ivanka's husband in the press to move him out of the campaign.

00:02:14.000 Unofficial Trump Pravda, Breitbart News, spun the Lewandowski firing this way in an exclusive from the Trump campaign, quote, The campaign manager seemed to have run out of ideas when the New York City developer asked Lewandowski what he would do to turn things around.

00:02:28.000 The only thing he could come up with was for Trump to announce his pick for vice president.

00:02:32.000 Pitching that as the solution seals his face, said the source.

00:02:35.000 The VP pick was the one piece of suspense that would make people tune into the convention.

00:02:39.000 Corey wanted to give that away now.

00:02:41.000 There was no way.

00:02:42.000 When the time came for Trump to lower the axe, no one spoke up to defend.

00:02:45.000 Sad, sad, Corey Lewandowski.

00:02:47.000 Smallest violence in the world to play in.

00:02:49.000 This is another indicator the Trump campaign is now in slow motion implosion.

00:02:53.000 They've spent this many, ZERO dollars in campaign swing states, even though Hillary has dumped $23 million in ads there so far. 1.00

00:03:00.000 They have 30 campaign staffers.

00:03:01.000 Hillary Clinton has 700.

00:03:04.000 Bloomberg News reported on Monday thusly, quote,

00:03:08.000 Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is gathering his top lieutenants, including members of his family, in New York on Monday to discuss a political strategy shift as he looks to move beyond recent missteps.

00:03:18.000 Trump is facing pressure from within his own inner circle, including from donors, who are growing increasingly frustrated with what they see as a lack of coordination and communication, members of Trump's staff told Bloomberg Politics at a crucial moment in the presidential race.

00:03:32.000 These rumors are well-founded. 0.99

00:03:34.000 CNN reported on Monday Republican donors were, quote, rattled by Trump.

00:03:37.000 One GOP donor said, Politico reported last week the RNC gave Trump 20 names of big donors to call and hit up for cash.

00:03:42.000 Trump called three.

00:03:42.000 Then he got bored and he quit calling.

00:03:54.000 Yes, Trump has big trouble.

00:03:56.000 And those troubles come directly from the top.

00:03:58.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.

00:03:59.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.

00:04:07.000 Okay, so we have a brand new sponsor on board.

00:04:09.000 We want to say hello to Ring.com.

00:04:11.000 Folks, there's a home burglary every 13 seconds.

00:04:13.000 I don't know about you, I am super paranoid about home invasion and home burglary.

00:04:17.000 Maybe it's just because I am the target of so many threats all the time, but I do worry about this sort of stuff in an irregularly serious way.

00:04:27.000 Most of these home burglaries, though, don't happen when you're at night and you're at home and they break in and they're trying to kill you.

00:04:32.000 Most happen in broad daylight and a burglar rings your doorbell to make sure that you're away before they break in.

00:04:37.000 That's why you need Ring Video Doorbell.

00:04:39.000 Ring Video Doorbell has been proven to stop burglaries before they happen.

00:04:43.000 It allows you to see, speak to anyone approaching your door using your smartphone.

00:04:47.000 Ring uses their advanced motion detection technology to protect your entire property with the Ring of Security Kit.

00:04:53.000 So the kit includes a ring video doorbell to the front door and a ring stick-up cam and the wireless weatherproof HD camera to keep an eye on other parts of your property.

00:05:01.000 So what they do is they actually hook this up to your doorbell basically and they hook that up to your phone so if somebody rings your doorbell immediately the camera is set off and you can see who's at your front door so you know whether to open it or not you know whether somebody's at your front door and now obviously they have these devices that monitor your entire property so that anywhere you are you don't have to be at home if someone rings your doorbell you now have the person on tape and you know whether somebody is trying to invade your home which is a pretty

00:05:23.000 We're good to go!

00:05:46.000 I'm at least alerted to the fact that there's somebody there, because right now I just have a passive camera on the front gate, so if somebody pulls up and they look at the front gate, I have to be standing by the camera in order to see what's going on.

00:05:56.000 Ring immediately notifies you that there is someone there in the first place.

00:05:59.000 For a limited time, my listeners get $50 off the Ring of Security Kit.

00:06:02.000 It's the lowest price anywhere.

00:06:03.000 Go to ring.com slash ben right now.

00:06:06.000 That's ring.com.

00:06:07.000 So, lots going on in the world.

00:06:08.000 So there's stuff that Donald Trump should be talking about today, and then there's stuff that Donald Trump is talking about today.

00:06:25.000 So the stuff he is talking about today, the Lewandowski thing.

00:06:27.000 So Corey Lewandowski, after months and months of being told that Corey Lewandowski was the greatest man who ever lived, a true American hero, who saved Donald Trump from 90-pound Michelle Fields and her little pen bomb by reaching from behind and grabbing her hard enough to bruise her,

00:06:42.000 Donald Trump said he was a wonderful man.

00:06:44.000 Great job, Corey.

00:06:45.000 You did a wonderful job, Corey.

00:06:46.000 Now, Corey Lewandowski has been fired. 0.97

00:06:48.000 He's been dumped on the side of the road like so much trash. 0.94

00:06:49.000 Basically, Donald Trump did the Carlo routine to Lewandowski from The Godfather.

00:06:55.000 Remember, Carlo is the brother-in-law who is responsible for Sonny's killing.

00:07:00.000 And Michael says, you're still part of the family business.

00:07:02.000 We're going to send you to Las Vegas, but you're never to talk to us again.

00:07:05.000 We're never going to see you again.

00:07:06.000 And then they take him out to the car and they strangle him.

00:07:08.000 That was basically Corey Lewandowski.

00:07:10.000 So Corey Lewandowski, they said, well, you know, don't worry, Corey, you'll always be part of the ga- And there comes the Garrett from the back, and Corey Lewandowski's feet are kicking out the front windshield, and it's just unpleasant all the way around.

00:07:20.000 So Corey Lewandowski couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

00:07:23.000 You can tell that Corey Lewandowski is well-liked when literally zero people came out to defend Corey Lewandowski.

00:07:29.000 And all of the Trump people

00:07:30.000 Who are saying that Corey Lewandowski was really like a World War II Normandy hero for saving Donald Trump.

00:07:35.000 Now they're faced with the odd prospect of having to side with their god king, Donald Trump, and firing Corey Lewandowski.

00:07:41.000 Things just got super awkward.

00:07:44.000 And again, it just shows the chaos that's broken out inside the Trump campaign. 0.99

00:07:49.000 Now what's really irritating about all of this, and there are people like me who have been saying for a long time that Trump can't run a campaign, that Trump is a crap show, that he is a poop tornado. 0.99

00:07:58.000 I've been saying this for a long time, but 0.98

00:08:00.000 What's really irritating is that never, ever in my lifetime has the Democratic Party been quite this vulnerable.

00:08:06.000 So, today, the FBI, at the behest of the Obama administration, released a partial transcript, a partial transcript, of the Orlando Jihadists' call to 911.

00:08:16.000 So, you remember, he went into the Pulse nightclub, this gay nightclub,

00:08:19.000 And while he's shooting it up, he calls 9-1-1 to leave a message.

00:08:23.000 And the Attorney General, who is, as Andrew Klavan likes to say, the creepiest person in America, Loretta Lynch, she was on the Sunday shows, and she said that they're only going to release a partial transcript of the Orlando 9-1-1 call.

00:08:39.000 So here's what she had to say about the transcript.

00:08:42.000 As was noted, because no purchases were made, no ID was gathered, no identifying information was available,

00:08:48.000 Beyond the information which was recorded and which was kept.

00:08:52.000 That is exactly what that gun shop owner should have done and we thank and commend him for that.

00:08:57.000 He then realized, after of course the tragic events of last weekend, exactly who had been in his shop and called FBI and again we were able to put those pieces together.

00:09:07.000 Because no purchase was made, there was nothing to identify who it was, there was nothing to say a name or an address, but again we are asking everyone

00:09:17.000 to look back at any contact they've had with this killer and do what this gun shop owner did and report it to us.

00:09:22.000 He did.

00:09:22.000 Okay, so a couple of things.

00:09:23.000 So first, so this is, so before we get to the partial transcript, this is the Attorney General blaming the gun shop owner who wouldn't sell this guy ammo, right?

00:09:30.000 She's saying, well, if he had an ID, then maybe we could have followed up or something.

00:09:33.000 Well, it turns out every gun shop I've been in, I've been in a fair number, all of them have cameras.

00:09:38.000 You know why they have cameras?

00:09:39.000 Because in many states, it's actually mandated by law they have cameras.

00:09:42.000 And even in the other states, they want to make sure that they can help out if somebody who bought a gun turns out to be a bad guy.

00:09:47.000 So, the FBI never even followed up with this gun shop.

00:09:49.000 Like, now she's claiming, oh, they didn't provide an ID, and that's the real problem.

00:09:53.000 Of course they didn't provide an ID.

00:09:54.000 He didn't provide an ID.

00:09:55.000 They didn't sell him anything.

00:09:56.000 But, they probably had him on tape, gang.

00:09:58.000 Where was the FBI checking out the tape?

00:10:00.000 Nowhere, nowhere.

00:10:01.000 But she says, nonetheless, the FBI did everything it could to stop the Orlando terrorist.

00:10:05.000 Here's Loretta Lynch saying the FBI did everything it possibly could have done to stop the terrorist.

00:10:10.000 Did the FBI, they had investigated him twice, had talked to him three times.

00:10:15.000 In the course of those investigations, did the FBI learn about his long history of violent behavior?

00:10:22.000 Well, I can't go into the specifics of everything that they learned, but in fact, he was under investigation once because he was making alarming statements and his co-workers did report that information, which again, is exactly what they should have done.

00:10:36.000 He was under investigation twice?

00:10:38.000 We're good to go.

00:10:56.000 We're good to go.

00:11:22.000 We're good to go.

00:11:43.000 All of this is predicate to her explaining that they're now going to release the transcript of the Orlando 911 call, but they're not going to release the entire transcript.

00:11:51.000 They can't do that.

00:11:52.000 They're not going to release the entire transcript.

00:11:54.000 Why, pray tell?

00:11:55.000 Here's Loretta Lynch being super creepy. 1.00

00:11:57.000 Including the hostage negotiation part of this affair?

00:12:00.000 Yes, it will be primarily a partial transcript of his calls with the hostage negotiators.

00:12:06.000 You say partial.

00:12:07.000 What's being left out?

00:12:08.000 Well, what we're not going to do is further proclaim this individual's pledges of allegiance to terrorist groups and further his propaganda.

00:12:15.000 So we're not going to hear him talk about those things?

00:12:17.000 We will hear him talk about some of those things, but we're not going to hear him make his assertions of allegiance in that.

00:12:23.000 This will not be audio.

00:12:24.000 This will be a printed transcript, but it will begin to capture the back and forth between him and the negotiators.

00:12:32.000 We're trying to get as much information about this investigation out as possible.

00:12:35.000 As you know, because the killer is dead, we have a bit more leeway there, and so we will be producing that information tomorrow.

00:12:41.000 Okay, this is fully insane.

00:12:42.000 So what she's saying is we know exactly what it says on the tape.

00:12:45.000 We have the full tape.

00:12:45.000 We're not going to release the tape because the tape, you know, if we release the tape, he might actually sound like, I don't know, like a radical Muslim and you might like like a jihadi who wanted to go shoot people.

00:12:54.000 So we can't do that.

00:12:54.000 We're not going to release the full tape.

00:12:55.000 We're not even going to release a full transcript.

00:12:57.000 Instead, we're going to release a partially redacted transcript that doesn't contain full information about to whom he was pledging his allegiance.

00:13:05.000 Right?

00:13:05.000 We can't do that.

00:13:06.000 Why can't we do that?

00:13:07.000 Well, the FBI chief came out today and said, we can't do that because it would cause more terrorism.

00:13:13.000 That's what he said.

00:13:13.000 So, okay.

00:13:14.000 So, I want to read to you the transcript that was released.

00:13:17.000 And this is just, it's truly amazing.

00:13:18.000 It's truly amazing.

00:13:19.000 So, she said, we're not going to further proclaim this individual's pledges of allegiance to terrorist groups and further his propaganda.

00:13:26.000 So, they're doing their own propaganda.

00:13:28.000 Now remember,

00:13:29.000 This isn't the first time that the Obama administration has gone full George Orwell on reality.

00:13:35.000 The State Department, we talked about this a week and a half ago, the State Department took out a section from a briefing on Iran that was unflattering.

00:13:41.000 They just chopped it out and put it on the side.

00:13:44.000 A few months ago, we talked about this too, the White House released a transcript and a translation

00:13:49.000 Francois Hollande, the French president visiting the United States, when he used the phrase Islamist, not even Islamic, Islamist terrorism, they chopped it out of the transcript and they said it never happened.

00:14:00.000 Then later they had to apologize.

00:14:01.000 This is nothing new.

00:14:02.000 They've now released the partial transcript.

00:14:04.000 Here's the partial transcript.

00:14:05.000 I'm not going to read you the part from the dispatcher because it's not important.

00:14:08.000 Here's what the Orlando Jihadi had to say.

00:14:10.000 Here's how they release it, okay?

00:14:12.000 I'm first going to give you

00:14:14.000 What he actually said, and then I'm gonna give you how they released it.

00:14:18.000 So he says, In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Beneficial.

00:14:21.000 And he does this in Arabic.

00:14:23.000 Here's how they released that.

00:14:24.000 In the name of God, the Merciful, the Beneficial.

00:14:27.000 And he says, Praise to Allah, and prayers as well as peace be upon the Prophet of Allah.

00:14:31.000 I let you know I'm in Orlando and I did the shootings.

00:14:34.000 Right, here's how they released that.

00:14:35.000 Praise be to God, and prayers as well as peace be upon the Prophet of God.

00:14:39.000 And then he says, my name is, I pledge allegiance to ISIS. 0.56

00:14:43.000 Here's how they release this.

00:14:44.000 My name is, I pledge allegiance to, omitted.

00:14:48.000 They blank it out, right?

00:14:49.000 He says, I pledge allegiance to al-Baghdadi, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, he's the head of ISIS.

00:14:53.000 I pledge allegiance to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

00:14:56.000 May Allah protect him on behalf of ISIS. 0.99

00:14:59.000 Right?

00:14:59.000 And here's how they released that.

00:15:05.000 This is how they released it today.

00:15:08.000 So, there are a couple things that are really worth noting here that are completely amazing.

00:15:12.000 First, everyone on the planet knows that omitted equals ISIS.

00:15:16.000 Everyone knows this, right?

00:15:17.000 There are only two reasons to cut this out.

00:15:20.000 One is to provide political cover for the FBI because it's clear they should have had an eye on this guy.

00:15:24.000 It's clear he was a jihadi. 0.68

00:15:25.000 It's clear he'd been a jihadi for literally years and that they let him go.

00:15:29.000 And the second is to provide political cover for their push for gun control.

00:15:32.000 Because if they actually were to, for example, take seriously the jihadi element here, then they would have to do that instead of pushing for my guns to be taken away from me.

00:15:41.000 So they have to pretend that none of this has anything to do with ideology.

00:15:45.000 The second point here, and this is truly amazing, the FBI released a translated transcript here.

00:15:49.000 They say, from Arabic.

00:15:50.000 And then they translate Allah as God.

00:15:53.000 They say, praise be to God.

00:15:54.000 Now, everyone in America, everyone all over the world knows, if you're translating from Arabic, we all know what Allah means.

00:15:59.000 It's not like it's a word that we don't understand the meaning of Allah.

00:16:03.000 We all know what Allah means.

00:16:04.000 But there's a serious debate about whether Allah of radical Islamists is the same as the God worshipped by Jews and Christians.

00:16:10.000 The Judeo-Christian God is not quite the same as the radical Muslim God. 0.98

00:16:15.000 And it's certainly not the same as the Jihadi's God. 0.94

00:16:17.000 But, for the left, they have to lump them all together.

00:16:19.000 We all worship the same monotheistic God.

00:16:22.000 And therefore, this is really just an outgrowth of evil right-wing religion. 0.96

00:16:25.000 It's not an outgrowth of Islam, it's an outgrowth of evil right-wing religion. 0.97

00:16:31.000 So they have to pretend that Allah and the Judeo-Christian God are identical, and they have to link radical Islam with Christianity and Judaism. 0.56

00:16:36.000 That's the point.

00:16:38.000 And let's be real about this for a second.

00:16:40.000 If this guy had pledged allegiance to the National Rifle Association and Jesus, is there any doubt they would have left that in?

00:16:46.000 Is there any doubt at all?

00:16:48.000 I'm old enough to remember when there was a guy who went and shot up a Planned Parenthood, tried to shoot up a Planned Parenthood. 0.92

00:16:52.000 They released the full transcript of everything this nutjob had to say, and he was a complete nut, right? 0.71

00:16:57.000 And they released everything. 1.00

00:16:57.000 It was babbling garbage nonsense. 1.00

00:16:59.000 They released the entire thing. 0.97

00:17:00.000 But here, you have a pretty well-stated Pledge of Allegiance to ISIS using their magic formulas. 0.89

00:17:05.000 And there, they have to make sure that they don't include that in the transcript.

00:17:09.000 They have to make sure they don't include that in the transcript.

00:17:11.000 And again, the reason that they don't want to include that is because they need to go after the guns.

00:17:15.000 And if they recognize that this was all about radical Islam, this was all about jihadism, and it had nothing to do really with the guns, they can't push for gun control.

00:17:23.000 Loretta Lynch wants to push for gun control, so she'll censor it. 1.00

00:17:26.000 So here's Loretta Lynch pushing for gun control. 1.00

00:17:29.000 She says, we need to stop individuals from getting guns.

00:17:32.000 Is this a concern of yours?

00:17:34.000 We're extremely grateful that in crafting this legislation, Congress took into account those concerns that the Director expressed over a year ago, and that we in law enforcement all have.

00:17:43.000 Obviously, we want to be able to have the tools we need to stop individuals from obtaining guns who should not have them.

00:17:50.000 But we also need to have a process consistent with the law to protect ongoing investigations and protect sensitive matters.

00:17:58.000 And this amendment does give the Department of Justice

00:18:03.000 Okay, so now they're gonna push for gun control, right?

00:18:05.000 We need all the tools at our disposal, and those tools require, require us to be able to go after the Terror Watch List, and they require us to be able to take everybody's guns away.

00:18:13.000 That's what we really need to do right now.

00:18:15.000 That's what we really need to do.

00:18:16.000 So, you would think...

00:18:18.000 That this would be a perfect opportunity to go after the Obama administration, right?

00:18:21.000 Go after Hillary Clinton, who agrees with all of this.

00:18:24.000 The NRA chief, Wayne LaPierre, he says, what's obvious here, this gun control stuff is meant to divert attention away from the fact that Obama and the Obama administration have ignored jihadism and they don't care about it.

00:18:33.000 Here's Wayne LaPierre.

00:18:35.000 I mean, we all mourn for what happened, John.

00:18:37.000 But we faced a terrorist challenge.

00:18:39.000 We're there on the verge of overwhelming us.

00:18:42.000 What happened this past week is the president, the whole gun ban movement said, hey, don't look at terrorists.

00:18:48.000 Look over here.

00:18:49.000 Divert your attention.

00:18:50.000 Take your eyes off the problem.

00:18:52.000 Because they don't want to face the embarrassment of their failure in this terrorist area. 0.72

00:18:57.000 And they want to cover their butts and not talk about it.

00:19:00.000 You can't save the country with politics.

00:19:02.000 The politically correct policies of the White House are intruding right now in military, terrorism, law enforcement.

00:19:10.000 It's all being politicized with the politically correct White House nose and fingers in areas they don't belong.

00:19:17.000 And let's start with a terrorist watch list.

00:19:20.000 Okay, so he's exactly right here.

00:19:22.000 He says, you know, we need to focus here on what really matters.

00:19:25.000 Let's stop focusing on the guns.

00:19:27.000 Let's focus on the actual jihadism that's inherent here.

00:19:30.000 And let's make sure the FBI is doing its job.

00:19:31.000 Maybe we should redact the FBI's pay until they do their job.

00:19:36.000 This would be a perfect moment for Donald Trump, right?

00:19:38.000 A perfect moment, because what does he do?

00:19:40.000 He rails against political correctness.

00:19:41.000 He rails against the political correctness that allows jihadism to creep into the United States.

00:19:46.000 He did it last week beautifully.

00:19:47.000 He gave a speech at the beginning of last week.

00:19:49.000 That was the best speech.

00:19:50.000 I said it.

00:19:51.000 Best speech he's given the entire campaign, his entire career, right?

00:19:54.000 Instead, we get Donald Trump doing what Donald Trump does, which is screwing things up.

00:19:57.000 And this is the problem with Trump. 0.99

00:19:59.000 Every time you think that Trump is really squared up to punch somebody really hard, he immediately punches himself right in the balls. 0.99

00:20:07.000 I mean, he just has no capacity to focus his attack. 0.91

00:20:11.000 So, that doesn't mean he can't say some things that are smart.

00:20:14.000 So, let's do clip 8 here.

00:20:15.000 This is what Donald Trump should have been focusing on this week.

00:20:17.000 Here's Donald Trump talking about profiling this week.

00:20:21.000 I think profiling is something that we're going to have to start thinking about as a country, and other countries do it, and you look at Israel, and you look at others, and they do it, and they do it successfully, and, you know, I hate the concept of profiling, but we have to start using common sense, and we have to use, you know, we have to use our heads.

00:20:40.000 You know, I see people that, and I've seen it recently, we had a case where, you know, very much, you know, in my case, where we had

00:20:50.000 We had tremendous numbers of people coming into a speech I was making and, you know, people that obviously had no guns, had no weapons, had no anything and they were going through screening and they were going through the same

00:21:05.000 The same, you know, scrutiny, the absolute same scrutiny as somebody else that looked like it could have been a possible person.

00:21:13.000 So we really have to look at profiling, we have to look at it seriously, and other countries do it, and it's not the worst thing to do.

00:21:21.000 I hate the concept of profiling, but we have to use common sense.

00:21:25.000 We're not using common sense.

00:21:27.000 Okay, all of that is exactly right.

00:21:29.000 And this is what he should have been hitting all week long.

00:21:31.000 And he should have been saying, why are you redacting things that we all know?

00:21:34.000 We all know what's under the redactions, under that omitted sign.

00:21:37.000 We know what's there.

00:21:38.000 This should be Trump's wheelhouse.

00:21:39.000 My God, if a story was ever created for Donald Trump to hit with both fists, it is this story, right?

00:21:44.000 It's totally, and the media know it.

00:21:46.000 The media know it.

00:21:47.000 Bill Maher over the weekend.

00:21:48.000 He says, Trump is right.

00:21:49.000 Obama does sound more angry at Trump than he does at the shooter.

00:21:52.000 Here's Bill Maher over the weekend.

00:21:55.000 Here's the one thing that Trump said this week that made a little sense to me.

00:21:58.000 He said, when I listened to Obama today, and he sounded madder at me than the shooter.

00:22:04.000 Couldn't we just address the big elephant in the room, which is the shooter, before we go right to elephant-phobia?

00:22:11.000 But trying to address the shooter as a product of Islam is like, as I said before, trying to address the priest who abuses children as a product of Christianity. 0.85

00:22:21.000 By the way, let me say, I've been married for 50 years, I've got to get this in, and I agree with everything you just said.

00:22:32.000 Okay, and Bill Maher goes on to suggest, no, that Trump is basically right here, and what he's saying is practical.

00:22:41.000 This is, this is right, right?

00:22:43.000 All of this is right.

00:22:44.000 This is where Trump should be hitting back hard, and the media couldn't do anything about it.

00:22:47.000 Most Americans agree.

00:22:48.000 There should be, when he says racial profiling, he's wrong.

00:22:50.000 It's behavioral profiling, is what the Israelis use. 1.00

00:22:53.000 The Israelis look at a list of criteria, and then they determine whether they think somebody's a threat.

00:22:58.000 If somebody is an Arab, but they're a Bedouin, then they get less scrutiny than if they're an Arab who's a Muslim who goes to a terror-connected mosque, right? 0.89

00:23:04.000 Israel actually goes through a list of behavioral specifications, and then they profile according to that.

00:23:09.000 So does everybody else in law enforcement.

00:23:11.000 They're just too politically correct to admit it.

00:23:14.000 Trump would be on good ground there, right?

00:23:15.000 He would be on good ground there.

00:23:17.000 But Trump can't help himself.

00:23:18.000 He can't help himself.

00:23:19.000 And so, let's go back to now, clip, this would be clip six.

00:23:23.000 Donald Trump, right, he can't help himself.

00:23:25.000 He says over the weekend that he wants to, if you're on a terror watch list, you shouldn't be able to buy a gun.

00:23:31.000 I want to just find out their thinking, because what I want, and I know what they want, they want it as much as anybody in the world.

00:23:38.000 They want to make sure that terrorists don't get guns.

00:23:40.000 And I know that something really good is going to come out of all of this.

00:23:43.000 But is it your position that if you're on that terror watch list, if you're on that no-fly list, you should not be able to buy a gun?

00:23:49.000 I'd like to see that, and I'd like to say it.

00:23:50.000 And it's simpler.

00:23:51.000 It's just simpler.

00:23:52.000 Now, but what they say, and I understand that also, is the Second Amendment.

00:23:55.000 They're depriving them of those rights.

00:23:58.000 And that it could be that people are on there that shouldn't be on, you know, etc, etc.

00:24:01.000 So we have to make sure that people that are terrorists or have even an inclination toward terrorism cannot buy weapons, guns.

00:24:12.000 Could you get the NRA to budge on this?

00:24:14.000 Because they've had a firm, they're against this idea.

00:24:18.000 And you're obviously pro-Second Amendment, nobody doubts that.

00:24:20.000 I'm pro-Second Amendment and I'm pro-NRA.

00:24:22.000 And you know, they gave me I think the earliest endorsement they've ever given to anybody.

00:24:26.000 I'll talk to them.

00:24:27.000 And by the way, they have, I understand exactly what they're saying.

00:24:29.000 You know, a lot of people are on the list that really maybe shouldn't be on the list.

00:24:34.000 And you know, their rights are being taken away, so I understand that.

00:24:37.000 Okay, so he's saying that he's trying to bridge the gap here with the NRA, but he's saying something.

00:24:41.000 He's saying exactly what Hillary Clinton is saying.

00:24:43.000 If you're on the terror watch list, then you have to be prevented.

00:24:46.000 from getting a gun.

00:24:47.000 And now he's forcing the NRA into this defensive position.

00:24:50.000 Here's the NRA's Chris Cox.

00:24:52.000 Now again, we could all be on the same page, or we could all be on the same page.

00:24:54.000 This is so easy.

00:24:56.000 This isn't about the terror watch list.

00:24:57.000 This is about the FBI needs to do its job, and the FBI needs to look at radical jihadis, and they need to take a serious look, and they need to keep monitoring them, and they can't let them go, and they can't pretend that they didn't see them. 0.95

00:25:06.000 But instead, we get into these internecine debates because Donald Trump is incompetent.

00:25:10.000 Here's Chris Cox from the NRA.

00:25:12.000 If Trump asks you to support the idea of an outright ban on sales for somebody on the no-fly list, on the terrorist list, would you budge on that?

00:25:20.000 Would you change your position on this?

00:25:21.000 Our position has been the same consistently.

00:25:23.000 We do not think that— So you will not change your position on this?

00:25:26.000 We support Senator Cornyn's approach, which is to ban— But if he asks, you're not going to change your position on this?

00:25:31.000 There is not a difference between what Mr. Trump is saying and what the NRA's position is.

00:25:35.000 That's a media-created diversion there.

00:25:37.000 Okay, so again, Trump is unable to bring it together, and this is the big problem with Trump, right?

00:25:44.000 So it should be a golden moment for Donald Trump because the Obama administration is evil on this.

00:25:48.000 This is evil. 0.81

00:25:49.000 The Hillary Clinton campaign repeats this nonsense ad nauseam. 0.99

00:25:53.000 More Americans will die because of it. 0.96

00:25:55.000 It's just terrible all the way through, but Trump has no capacity.

00:25:57.000 To pull it together, and it's just getting more and more and more uncomfortable.

00:26:00.000 So, Chris Wallace on Fox News.

00:26:02.000 He has on Jeff Sessions.

00:26:04.000 Jeff Sessions, by the way, we now found out that this was not supposed to be Jeff Sessions.

00:26:07.000 It was supposed to be Corey Lewandowski, who was booked for Fox News Sunday, but he'd been covertly fired, and nobody wanted to tell him.

00:26:13.000 So, instead, it's Jeff Sessions, the senator from Alabama, on with Chris Wallace, getting grilled by Chris Wallace over his support for Trump.

00:26:20.000 Question, do you know what that something else Trump refers to that he thinks that President Obama has in mind?

00:26:26.000 No, I don't.

00:26:27.000 I don't know what he's referring to there, but I do believe he is correct to raise the question that the policies of this administration, from going back to 2011 when we withdrew all our troops from Iraq and allowed ISIS to form and become an entity, probably would never have happened otherwise.

00:26:45.000 Certainly not spread as much as it has.

00:26:48.000 Forgive me, I just want to go through what Trump said.

00:26:51.000 He said, either he doesn't get it or he gets it better than anyone understands.

00:26:56.000 He's got something else in mind.

00:26:58.000 I mean that certainly seems to imply that somehow he is sympathetic to radical Islam.

00:27:04.000 No, I don't think he means that, but I think he's criticizing him, President Obama, for going too far.

00:27:12.000 This is all awkward talk with Jeff Sessions.

00:27:24.000 More awkward talk with Paul Ryan, the Speaker of the House.

00:27:27.000 Paul Ryan can't stand this.

00:27:28.000 Paul Ryan is looking around going, what did I get myself into here?

00:27:31.000 I'm the Speaker of the House.

00:27:32.000 And clearly I can't stand anything that Donald Trump is saying.

00:27:35.000 And even when I can stand what Donald Trump is saying, he's still getting me into trouble.

00:27:39.000 And so here's Paul Ryan being grilled by Chuck Todd over his support for Donald Trump.

00:27:44.000 And it's awkward land with Paul Ryan.

00:27:46.000 My place, because of, again, this role I have, which I feel has very important responsibilities, is to call balls and strikes and just play it by the rules.

00:27:56.000 So it is not my job to tell delegates what to do, what not to do, or to weigh in on things like that.

00:28:01.000 They write the rules, they make their decisions.

00:28:04.000 All I want to make sure is it's done above board, clearly, honestly, and by the rules.

00:28:08.000 So I see my role now, given that he's got the plurality, he actually won.

00:28:12.000 It's pretty much a ceremonial position, but the last thing I'm going to do is weigh in and tell delegates what to do, how to do it.

00:28:18.000 All right, but I guess, so, if they decide to change the rules, and that's, which they can do, you're comfortable with however they change the rules?

00:28:27.000 You're asking the wrong person.

00:28:28.000 You should ask the party.

00:28:29.000 You should ask Reince Priebus.

00:28:30.000 You should ask the delegates.

00:28:32.000 I think the Rules Committee meets the week before.

00:28:34.000 Right, but if you have an opinion on this, it matters to them.

00:28:37.000 My opinion is not

00:28:39.000 Okay, so he's basically saying, guys, guys, secretly, if you don't vote for Trump, I'm gonna be cool with that, but I can't say that, because I have to unify the party, because that's my job here, this is so uncomfortable, I'm gonna go lift weights with my hat on backwards.

00:29:00.000 That's what I need to do right now.

00:29:01.000 And so Paul Ryan's just looking super duper uncomfortable. 0.66

00:29:04.000 Senator Ron Johnson from Wisconsin, he's starting to voice the opinion that's beginning to be heard all across the fruited plain that Donald Trump cannot be the nominee because he's incompetent.

00:29:15.000 He says that Trump's nomination is reasonably uncertain.

00:29:17.000 This is him on CNN talking about it.

00:29:19.000 It's been my intention to support the Republican nominee.

00:29:23.000 And again, nobody can predict the outcome of this thing.

00:29:25.000 So I think things remain reasonably uncertain.

00:29:28.000 So are you endorsing Mr. Trump right now?

00:29:32.000 I intend to support the Republican nominee and certainly support the areas of agreement.

00:29:36.000 Growing our economy, defeating ISIS, strengthening our military, securing our border.

00:29:42.000 No two people agree 100% on everything.

00:29:44.000 So I'll support the areas of agreement.

00:29:47.000 Okay, so, he says that it's unsure, there's this burgeoning feeling, and I'm going to talk about this for a second, there's this burgeoning feeling that Republicans may dump Trump at the convention.

00:29:57.000 It's not going to happen.

00:29:57.000 They're not going to dump Trump at the convention.

00:29:59.000 He's going to be the nominee.

00:30:00.000 They don't have the guts to pull the trigger, because the reality right now is that if they were to oust Trump as the nominee, they lose 40% of their base, all of whom are super ticked, and walk away.

00:30:09.000 If they keep Trump as the nominee, they get destroyed.

00:30:11.000 Donald Trump right now, according to every poll,

00:30:13.000 He's performing about the same as Romney did in the swing states, which is to say he's going to lose most of them.

00:30:18.000 He's performing significantly worse than Romney was in all of the red states.

00:30:21.000 He's now put Arizona in play.

00:30:23.000 He's put Utah in play.

00:30:24.000 He's running behind in Kansas.

00:30:26.000 Hillary Clinton could win 400 electoral votes. 1.00

00:30:28.000 And it's not because of people like me.

00:30:29.000 It's because Donald Trump has no capacity to run a campaign.

00:30:33.000 And this is one of the great lies of his campaign all along, was that he's this great businessman who will be able to throw things together.

00:30:38.000 No, Donald Trump is good at one thing, really.

00:30:41.000 One thing.

00:30:41.000 And that is making headlines.

00:30:43.000 And he's doing it every day.

00:30:44.000 He's great at it.

00:30:45.000 He's a headline manufacturing machine.

00:30:48.000 Right out of that crazy gourd covered in that crazy hair come headlines. 0.73

00:30:51.000 Every single day.

00:30:52.000 Lots and lots and lots of headlines.

00:30:54.000 Some are good.

00:30:54.000 Some are bad.

00:30:55.000 Most are crazy. 0.99

00:30:56.000 It doesn't really matter. 0.98

00:30:57.000 Bottom line is, he has no capacity to run a campaign.

00:31:00.000 So people are looking around going, why can't he organize anything?

00:31:03.000 Because he was never able to organize anything.

00:31:05.000 This hasn't been an organized run for the presidency.

00:31:07.000 I mean, he said himself he doesn't think that he's gonna have to have people on the ground.

00:31:11.000 He said he's just gonna do big rallies.

00:31:12.000 That's somebody who's used to branding.

00:31:14.000 That's not somebody who's used to running a business.

00:31:17.000 Again, he has 30 campaign staff.

00:31:19.000 30.

00:31:19.000 Three-zero.

00:31:20.000 We have more people than that, like, working in this office.

00:31:22.000 30 campaign staff, right?

00:31:24.000 Over the course of... Hillary already has 700 people.

00:31:27.000 Donald Trump said he was going to spend $600 million of his own dollars on this campaign.

00:31:32.000 He has spent a grand goose egg, and Hillary's already spent $23 million in the battleground states. 1.00

00:31:39.000 So, Trump has problems, but does that mean that the Republicans will stop him?

00:31:42.000 No, they won't, because they're stuck in this catch-22 situation.

00:31:45.000 People are already, you can see it inside the Trump campaign, people are already starting to figure, how do we spin this?

00:31:49.000 If he gets just destroyed in the election, how do we, who do we blame?

00:31:52.000 Who do we blame?

00:31:53.000 And unfortunately, it's not too early to talk about this.

00:31:56.000 If Trump loses big, the question is going to be how this breaks down for the next time.

00:32:01.000 And it's, and I will say this, all you anti-establishment folks who went for Trump, you did the anti-establishment a real disservice, because if Trump loses and loses big, if he loses historically big, if he loses Barry Goldwater big, which is a possibility, if Donald Trump really gets destroyed, the establishment, the Jeb Bush types, the Marco Rubio types, they're gonna come back in, and they're gonna say, look, we handed this to you guys, you got it, you took it, you took it from us, and now look what you did.

00:32:25.000 Now look what you did.

00:32:26.000 Right?

00:32:26.000 We let you play in the kitchen, you turned on the oven and shoved your head inside.

00:32:29.000 Now look what you did.

00:32:30.000 We need the control again.

00:32:31.000 And the conservatives, people like me, who didn't support Trump, we're gonna be standing on the sidelines going, hey, look over here, look over here, right?

00:32:37.000 We didn't support Trump.

00:32:38.000 The establishment liked Trump more than I did.

00:32:41.000 But the establishment will say, yeah, but you Cruz people, you and Trump were in the same anti-establishment boat.

00:32:46.000 So when given the anti-establishment choice between Trump and Cruz,

00:32:49.000 People chose Trump, and now they're gonna have to ride that slow boat to China while the establishment reasserts control if Trump loses big.

00:32:56.000 It's really the worst-case scenario for everybody, what's going on with Trump right now.

00:33:01.000 And Trump knows it.

00:33:02.000 I mean, he's yelling at insurgent Republicans.

00:33:04.000 He's saying that he's very upset that people are talking about taking away his nomination.

00:33:09.000 And who is he attacking?

00:33:10.000 He's attacking Jeb Bush, and he's attacking Ted Cruz.

00:33:13.000 Ted Cruz isn't doing anything, okay?

00:33:14.000 Cruz is like sitting around doing nothing with his life right now.

00:33:17.000 He's making speeches in the Senate, and he's kind of running away from the media.

00:33:21.000 That's Ted Cruz's job right now.

00:33:23.000 And as for Jeb Bush, Jeb Bush seriously isn't doing anything.

00:33:27.000 Jeb Bush is doing what he does during his downtime.

00:33:29.000 He's unplugging, and when I say unplugging, I mean they've literally taken out his plug, and he's like C-3PO when you take out his plug.

00:33:35.000 He's just sitting there in a dead slack trance, staring at a blank wall, Jeb Bush.

00:33:39.000 He's not orchestrating anything.

00:33:41.000 But Trump is so incapable of just focusing his campaign.

00:33:46.000 Hugh Hewitt came out last week, he said, well if Trump would run a focused campaign, he could beat Hillary Clinton.

00:33:51.000 Right.

00:33:52.000 And if the narcoleptic puppy could stay awake, then I'm sure that it would chase that burglar out of the house.

00:33:57.000 But it turns out that Trump has no capacity to do any of these things.

00:34:00.000 He's just not capable of doing anything.

00:34:02.000 And he's puzzled because all the people who were for him are now up against him.

00:34:05.000 Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski.

00:34:07.000 Look at Mika Brzezinski.

00:34:08.000 Brzezinski was drooling all over herself for Donald Trump. 0.99

00:34:11.000 People thought that Mika Brzezinski was going to be his new press secretary if Katrina Pearson ever got tired of the crazy eyes. 1.00

00:34:17.000 So here's Mika Brzezinski now talking about Trump.

00:34:20.000 Long before this time in the process, someone like Donald Trump would be not just talking to his team, but talking to foreign policy leaders, talking to former politicians, talking to world leaders, reading, learning about how to couch certain statements and to be very careful.

00:34:40.000 about your words and instead he is literally still vomiting out anything he thinks at the tip of his head that he might have seen on TV and I don't know what channel recently and it's it's pathetic number one it's sad for the party it's sad for the country and it's sad for his candidacy which could have done so much and she's so she she's she's she loved Trump she drove him to this but again

00:35:09.000 Trump had- I wish to God that we had- This is the problem.

00:35:11.000 I talked to- I was talking to a friend yesterday.

00:35:13.000 I was saying, Trump was the best puncher in the campaign, right?

00:35:15.000 In the primaries, there's no question he was the best puncher.

00:35:17.000 He had the most punching power.

00:35:19.000 He was routinely knocking Jeb Bush off the stage, almost physically, almost bodily, during the campaign.

00:35:24.000 You'd just see Jeb standing there, and suddenly Trump would just go, boom!

00:35:27.000 And Jeb would go flying off the stage, and there'd be a Jeb-sized hole in the wall, like in a cartoon.

00:35:32.000 But he should be doing that to Hillary, and he's not doing it to Hillary.

00:35:36.000 He's doing it to himself with the Lewandowski mess, and now with his various comments about everything ranging from Mexican judges, to President Obama being a secret Muslim, to not knowing what to say about guns.

00:35:47.000 Over the weekend, by the way, Donald Trump actually said something else about guns.

00:35:50.000 So last week he said that he wants everyone on the terror watch list to be stopped from purchasing a gun.

00:35:55.000 This weekend, he said... Okay, by the way, remember last week when I said it would be good if people inside Pulse had been armed?

00:36:01.000 Well now, you know, I think that nobody should have been armed there.

00:36:03.000 The only people who should have been armed were security guards.

00:36:05.000 Because somebody said to him, you want drunk people armed? 1.00

00:36:07.000 And he's too stupid to say, no, I want sober people armed. 0.99

00:36:10.000 So instead of him just saying, no, I want sober people armed, he says, no, nobody in the bar should be armed. 1.00

00:36:14.000 Instead, what we really should have is we should have security guards, which is not what he said last week.

00:36:18.000 So he's just all over the place.

00:36:19.000 And they're so vulnerable.

00:36:20.000 Here's Hillary Clinton. 1.00

00:36:22.000 And Hillary is the worst. 1.00

00:36:23.000 She's the worst. 1.00

00:36:24.000 Don't mistake this.

00:36:25.000 OK, my criticism of Trump, it's I want him to be better at this.

00:36:28.000 I want Trump not to be Trump. 0.77

00:36:30.000 I want Hillary to fall into a black hole. 1.00

00:36:32.000 Okay, Hillary Clinton, here's Hillary Clinton over the weekend talking about Trump and radical Islam. 1.00

00:36:38.000 I mean, Hillary is just, she's the worst. 1.00

00:36:40.000 She's awful. 1.00

00:36:40.000 She's so terrible. 1.00

00:36:42.000 She's so bad. 0.97

00:36:43.000 And Trump can't overcome this?

00:36:45.000 He can't?

00:36:46.000 Really?

00:36:47.000 Come on.

00:36:48.000 I guess the criticism on his part is that you're exalting niceties or political correctness over just calling something what it is, a vicious, vicious distortion of Islam.

00:37:02.000 Well, look, I think Trump, as usual, is obsessed with name-calling, and from my perspective,

00:37:09.000 It matters what we do, not what we say.

00:37:11.000 It mattered that we got bin Laden, not what name we called him.

00:37:15.000 But if he is somehow suggesting I don't call this for what it is, he hasn't been listening.

00:37:22.000 I have clearly said that we face terrorist enemies who use Islam to justify slaughtering innocent people.

00:37:29.000 We have to stop them, and we will.

00:37:31.000 We have to defeat radical jihadist terrorism, and we will.

00:37:36.000 And to me, radical jihadism, radical Islamism, I think they mean the same thing.

00:37:41.000 I'm happy to say either, but that's not the point.

00:37:44.000 All this talk and, you know, demagoguery and, you know, rhetoric is not going to solve the problem.

00:37:51.000 I'm not going to demonize and demagogue and declare war on an entire religion.

00:37:56.000 That's just so bad at this.

00:37:58.000 Donald, just do better.

00:37:59.000 She's so bad.

00:38:00.000 Stop her! 1.00

00:38:01.000 Stop her! 1.00

00:38:01.000 No, stop her talking. 1.00

00:38:02.000 She's so bad at this. 1.00

00:38:04.000 She's so terrible at this. 1.00

00:38:05.000 Her face opens and stupid sounds come out all the time. 1.00

00:38:08.000 I'm not going to demagogue an entire religion. 1.00

00:38:10.000 No one's talking about demagoguing an entire religion.

00:38:13.000 We're talking about the fact that all of the devotees of radical Islam have something to do with a religion that rhymes with cislam.

00:38:20.000 Okay?

00:38:20.000 This is not saying the entire religion is terrorist.

00:38:23.000 It's saying that everybody who's a terrorist

00:38:25.000 Whose serious terrorist happens to be part of this particular religion. 0.79

00:38:28.000 That doesn't mean everybody who's a part of the religion is a terrorist. 0.99

00:38:30.000 This is the same argument when- when idiots- this is like Hillary Clinton sitting there and saying, if we say, squares are bad, right? 0.99

00:38:38.000 So we have to look inside the category of rectangles to find all the squares. 0.99

00:38:41.000 It's like Hillary saying, but you're saying all the rectangles are bad.

00:38:43.000 No, I'm not saying all the rectangles are bad, right?

00:38:45.000 Every square is a rectangle, but not every rectangle is a square. 0.99

00:38:48.000 You dunce! 0.99

00:38:49.000 But Trump doesn't have the capacity for that. 1.00

00:38:51.000 Trump is just busy being Trump.

00:38:52.000 And this is the problem.

00:38:53.000 Trump can't stop being Trump.

00:38:54.000 No matter what he does, he can't stop being Trump.

00:38:57.000 And the chaos and confusion, lack of basic skills.

00:39:01.000 It's such a blown opportunity.

00:39:03.000 It's gut-churning for this opportunity to be blown in a magnitude this large.

00:39:07.000 Okay, time for some things I like and then some things that I hate.

00:39:11.000 Okay, things that I like.

00:39:12.000 So last night the Cleveland Cavaliers won the championship in basketball.

00:39:15.000 They won the NBA championship.

00:39:17.000 And I know everybody's looking forward to the WNBA championship game.

00:39:20.000 Wait, where'd everybody go?

00:39:22.000 Wait.

00:39:23.000 Oh.

00:39:23.000 Yeah.

00:39:23.000 No, they did.

00:39:24.000 Sorry.

00:39:24.000 That's not a real thing.

00:39:25.000 In any case, the Cleveland Cavaliers won.

00:39:27.000 And, uh, they came back from a 3-1 deficit to do it.

00:39:29.000 All the pressure was on LeBron.

00:39:30.000 All credit to LeBron.

00:39:31.000 I tweeted out last night, one Jordan, two LeBron.

00:39:34.000 Saying Jordan is still the all-time greatest player.

00:39:36.000 And some people were ticked at me.

00:39:38.000 Like I was trying to talk down LeBron.

00:39:40.000 No, I had LeBron at like number 6 before.

00:39:42.000 Now I have him at number 2.

00:39:42.000 He just vaulted over Kareem and Bill Russell and a bunch of other great players to get to number 2.

00:39:48.000 All the pressure was on him last night and he performed.

00:39:50.000 Steph Curry did not.

00:39:51.000 Steph Curry barely showed up.

00:39:52.000 He scored 17 points.

00:39:53.000 He was 4 for 16 from the field or something.

00:39:56.000 And LeBron was dominant.

00:39:58.000 LeBron led both teams, both teams for the finals.

00:40:01.000 We're good to go.

00:40:17.000 I think we're good.

00:40:33.000 To a team that has two all-stars on it, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, and a bunch of good supporting players, and then you dictate to the owner who he's going to bring in, and you get all the credit for coming back home?

00:40:41.000 Isn't that, like, the toughest thing?

00:40:43.000 I mean, come on.

00:40:43.000 I mean, like, it's tough.

00:40:45.000 I'm not denigrating your efforts here, but this, like, I'm sorry, like, you weren't paralyzed from the waist down.

00:40:51.000 It's not like God gave you the biggest challenges.

00:40:53.000 So, just wanted to correct that on the record a little bit.

00:40:57.000 Like, there was this whole kind of sainthood that happened when LeBron went back to Cleveland.

00:41:00.000 People say, oh, what a sacrifice he's making.

00:41:02.000 Well, he didn't sacrifice money, he didn't sacrifice prestige, and he didn't sacrifice a good team, because the Heat stink.

00:41:07.000 So, in any case, that doesn't denigrate his accomplishment.

00:41:10.000 He's a great basketball player.

00:41:11.000 Okay, time for some things.

00:41:14.000 Well, actually, let's pay a quick tribute to another sports figure, Vin Scully.

00:41:17.000 So, Vin Scully, who's been the announcer for the LA Dodgers for 67 years.

00:41:22.000 Last night he was just talking about socialism in Venezuela and right now there are riots and people beating the crap out of each other over food, people getting killed because socialism is terrible.

00:41:31.000 Here is Vin Scully destroying socialism in like four sentences in the middle of a baseball game.

00:41:36.000 Socialism failing to work as it always does this time in Venezuela.

00:41:41.000 You talk about giving everybody something free and all of a sudden there's no food to eat.

00:41:47.000 And who do you think is the richest person in Venezuela?

00:41:50.000 The daughter of Hugo Chavez.

00:41:53.000 Hello!

00:41:55.000 Anyway, 0-2.

00:41:58.000 I love it.

00:41:59.000 I just love it.

00:42:00.000 I love the kind of just drop the reference to socialism.

00:42:03.000 Just give like a full speech in the middle there.

00:42:05.000 I can't wait for his take on the minimum wage in the middle of the game.

00:42:08.000 I think it'll be fantastic.

00:42:09.000 Okay, time for some things that I hate.

00:42:11.000 So, Teen Vogue.

00:42:13.000 All these teen magazines are now basically just CosmoLite.

00:42:16.000 They've decided to treat 14 year old girls like they're 19 year old women and it's really gross.

00:42:20.000 They have a new issue out and the new issue is they want to teach young girls how to choose their gender.

00:42:28.000 Okay, hint.

00:42:29.000 If you're a girl and you're subscribing to Teen Vogue, it's because you're a chick. 1.00

00:42:32.000 Right?

00:42:32.000 If you're a guy and you're subscribing to Teen Vogue...

00:42:36.000 It's cuz... something.

00:42:37.000 Okay, but if you're a girl and you're subscribing to Teen Vogue, it's because you're a chick. 1.00

00:42:40.000 So, I love this.

00:42:41.000 In answer to a question from a sexually confused girl who has always felt like a tomboy but was assigned female at birth, Lena Solow, who's a self-styled sex educator, enriching the minds of our youth one anonymous question about scissoring at a time, I won't even get into what that is if you have kids in the car, explains how one can transcend biology and figure out their gender.

00:43:02.000 She says, we're given such a simplistic way of looking at gender. 0.94

00:43:05.000 On one side is man, masculine, junk, loud, bowtie wear. 0.95

00:43:08.000 On the other is woman, feminine, lady part, demure, wears dresses. 0.99

00:43:12.000 A first small step is learning the meaning of different words related to gender.

00:43:16.000 And then she suggests a list of progressive buzzwords.

00:43:19.000 Butch, agender, genderqueer, gender nonconforming, transmasculine, and transgender.

00:43:24.000 All of these are nonsensical terms that don't really mean anything.

00:43:27.000 Or maybe cisgender is something you identify with.

00:43:29.000 Being a woman doesn't have to mean being conventionally feminine.

00:43:32.000 Even though masculinity is feeling really resonant for you right now, you might find some inspiration in exploring different expressions of femininity or femme identities.

00:43:40.000 And then she asks the girl that maybe she wants to change her name or try out some different gender pronouns. 0.99

00:43:45.000 Maybe you should try that out.

00:43:47.000 Because nothing says to a confused teenage girl 0.99

00:43:51.000 That you're going to be healthy quite like saying that you should experiment with changing your gender pronouns and start calling yourself Bob.

00:43:56.000 Nothing is going to make you mentally healthier than that.

00:43:59.000 This is what the left wants to do.

00:44:00.000 Whenever the left says that all this is about is the kids who are already suffering from gender dysphoria, it's such nonsense.

00:44:06.000 They're recruiting kids to gender dysphoria.

00:44:08.000 They're recruiting kids to confusion and mental illness because what they want to do is establish this broader rule that there's no such thing as gender and that gender can be chosen.

00:44:17.000 And if kids have to be victimized along the way, this is what they do.

00:44:21.000 Rousseau famously wrote this book called The Meal, and in this book The Meal, he said kids should basically just be let to... their education should be roaming free on the planes, and they should run around and learn everything for themselves.

00:44:31.000 And somebody once went to him and said, oh, I've been taking you up on this, and Rousseau said, what, are you crazy? 0.86

00:44:35.000 Are you out of your mind? 0.98

00:44:36.000 Why would you do that?

00:44:37.000 Like, you have to teach kids right from wrong, and not just right from wrong, you do have to teach kids aspects of identity that are important.

00:44:43.000 Right?

00:44:43.000 Who they are.

00:44:45.000 In fact, what's amazing is the left will teach you.

00:44:47.000 The left will teach you that a girl who is 164th Cherokee has to be seized from her foster home and put in a Native American household, right? 1.00

00:44:55.000 Seized from the only home she's ever known, be put with relatives she's never met before, based on the fact that her Cherokee identity must be re-implemented. 0.98

00:45:02.000 But, if she's a girl, and her parents tell her she's a girl, and she says, I feel like a tomboy, they say, well, that's okay, there are some girls who are tomboys.

00:45:08.000 Then we have to take her out of the house and hand her over to Child Protective Services. 1.00

00:45:11.000 So racial identity has to be reinforced by society, but gender identity cannot be reinforced by society.

00:45:17.000 You can't tell a girl that she's a girl because you might be damaging her.

00:45:20.000 Nothing is more damaging to a confused girl who's just having the hormones hit than telling her you might be a guy. 0.99

00:45:27.000 What sick nonsense? 1.00

00:45:28.000 What perverse, insane nonsense? 1.00

00:45:30.000 What damage they do to children? 0.99

00:45:32.000 They don't care.

00:45:32.000 They don't have kids anyway.

00:45:33.000 The left doesn't care about kids.

00:45:36.000 The left despises a society with children because a society with children means that I prefer my children over the society.

00:45:41.000 And I do.

00:45:42.000 I prefer my kids.

00:45:43.000 I favor my kids over your kids.

00:45:44.000 You favor your kids over my kids.

00:45:46.000 That's the way it should be.

00:45:47.000 And we learn to live in a society where we have our differences based on the idea that I don't want you to hurt my kids and you don't want me to hurt your kids, right?

00:45:53.000 That's how we have a society.

00:45:54.000 The left says all this is bad.

00:45:55.000 We can't have a collective society together unless we hand over our children to the collective, unless it takes a village to raise a child, as Hillary Clinton infamously put it. 1.00

00:46:03.000 Okay, final thing that I hate.

00:46:04.000 John Oliver, who is one of these people, there's a whole group of people in American life where they have British accents and so we consider them intelligent.

00:46:12.000 And I'm not sure why this is.

00:46:13.000 I don't know what weird hang-up we have in our brains.

00:46:16.000 Or certain aspects are sort of connected in our minds to levels of intelligence. 0.99

00:46:21.000 Like if somebody has a southern accent, there's a tendency in the media to play them like they're dumb. 0.88

00:46:25.000 And if somebody has a British accent, there's an attempt to play them like they're smart. 0.95

00:46:30.000 John Oliver is a symptom of one of these.

00:46:32.000 John Oliver who looks

00:46:34.000 Very much like Sam the Eagle here.

00:46:38.000 Mr. Bean, that's not a bad call, but to me, I'm seeing Sam the Eagle in this particular photo.

00:46:45.000 You need to subscribe to Daily Wire so you can see what I'm looking at.

00:46:49.000 He looks like the Muppet.

00:46:51.000 But in any case, John Oliver is very upset about Brexit.

00:46:54.000 This is Great Britain exiting the European Union.

00:46:57.000 The reason people want to do this is they don't want to be connected with the European Union's immigration policy.

00:47:01.000 They also don't want to be connected with the European Union's economic policy.

00:47:04.000 Great Britain has never adopted the euro.

00:47:06.000 They've always used the pound because they didn't want to be sucked into the great maw of socialism that was the rest of the continent.

00:47:12.000 It's bad enough in London.

00:47:13.000 It's bad enough in Britain.

00:47:14.000 They didn't want to be responsible for Greece's debt.

00:47:16.000 Well, John Oliver is fighting mad about this and because he's British, we're supposed to listen to him. 1.00

00:47:21.000 A Brexit or British exit could have wide-ranging implications, both for the U.K.

00:47:26.000 and the world's economy.

00:47:27.000 And first, it might help to understand what the European Union actually is.

00:47:31.000 The idea for it came after the Second World War, when there was understandably a desire to keep the continent from tearing itself apart yet again.

00:47:39.000 And it has since evolved into an economic union of 28 countries whose citizens can trade and move freely across borders and who negotiate international agreements as a bloc.

00:47:48.000 But, despite being a member, Britain has always had an arm's-length relationship with the EU.

00:47:54.000 For instance, it doesn't use the euro, and some British politicians have been openly hostile right to the face of EU officials.

00:48:01.000 I don't want to be rude, but you have the charisma of a damp rag and the appearance of a low-grade bank clerk.

00:48:09.000 And the question that I want to ask, that we're all going to ask, is who are you?

00:48:13.000 I'd never heard of you.

00:48:15.000 Nobody in Europe had ever heard of you.

00:48:19.000 That is painful to watch.

00:48:21.000 And not just because all of those insults are things people in the UK have said about me.

00:48:26.000 And look, look, the EU is not perfect.

00:48:30.000 It's large, confounding, and relentlessly bureaucratic.

00:48:34.000 Think of it like Gerard Depardieu.

00:48:36.000 It's an unwieldy European body that's a source of great bewilderment. 1.00

00:48:41.000 But Britain leaving it would be a huge destabilizing decision.

00:48:45.000 It is hard for me to overstate to you how poisonous things have become in England.

00:48:51.000 Just this week, MP Joe Cox was killed in the street and the man charged for it gave his name in court as death to traitors, freedom for Britain.

00:49:00.000 And in that cauldron, people are being asked to make a major political decision.

00:49:05.000 And incidentally, regarding immigration, even if you believe tightening borders is what Britain needs to do, you should know that opting out of the EU will not necessarily enable Britain to do that.

00:49:17.000 Leaving the EU, does that mean the UK gets control of its borders?

00:49:20.000 Of course!

00:49:21.000 Because if Britain wants a good trade deal with the EU, it's probably going to have to abide by most of its rules.

00:49:41.000 The fact is that some of this is untrue.

00:49:43.000 So the fact is if Britain were to leave the EU, which I think that at this point there's a good case they should do, if Britain were to leave the EU, then they could renegotiate their own deal with the EU, right?

00:49:52.000 It wouldn't just be they would suddenly be out of trade completely with the EU.

00:49:55.000 They would just say, okay, we're gonna negotiate a new trade deal where there's no mobility of labor or less mobility of labor.

00:50:00.000 We're not going to take in people from certain countries.

00:50:02.000 They can negotiate the same way that the United States negotiates with the EU.

00:50:05.000 We have free trade, basically, with Europe.

00:50:07.000 We have very, very free trade with Europe.

00:50:10.000 But we don't accept all of their immigrants. 1.00

00:50:12.000 We don't have to accept any of them if we don't want to, presumably.

00:50:15.000 But the idea here is that John Oliver knows of what he speaks.

00:50:19.000 I will also object to the idea that this British politician gets killed by a guy who is right-wing, and it is amazing how the folks on the left, and it's terrible, it's a terrible story.

00:50:28.000 It's amazing how the folks on the left are willing to say it's political motivation that leads to that death, but in Orlando, Florida, no political motivation leads to the murder of 50 Americans.

00:50:36.000 That just has to do with the gun.

00:50:39.000 Okay, well, we'll be back tomorrow.

00:50:40.000 There's plenty more to talk about, and I'm sure that there will be more fallout from Corey Lewandowski.

00:50:45.000 Apparently, he and Paul Manafort are currently going at it, fighting with each other, which is just amusing beyond all measure.

00:50:51.000 I'm sure Hillary Clinton will do something criminal, and I'm sure Donald Trump will say something else that puts him in the headlines.

00:50:56.000 So, we'll have a show, in other words.

00:50:58.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.

00:50:58.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
