Ep. 179 - Hillary Lies Make Her Pathetically Ineffective

Summary

The NCAA is punishing the entire state of North Carolina for a law that prevents localities from forcing businesses to let men use the bathroom next to little girls in public bathrooms. The NCAA says that because the law is discriminatory against LGBT Americans, they cannot hold their championships in North Carolina during the 2016-17 academic year. The North Carolina GOP issues an epic response to all of this, saying that the NCAA should cancel all NCAA events in their state because of the anti-gay "bathroom bill." The NCAA won't back down, and Hillary Clinton joins in on the effort to boycott the state, saying, Discrimination has no place in America. Except, of course, when it does have a place in the United States, when governmental actors promote boycotts against private actors in states that have laws they don't like. Americans ought to tune out their big games and events until the point when the NCAA stops being a tool for leftist pandering and actually becomes a sports organization, and actually starts being a sports organisation. But that's the problem with us, conservatives. We are too easygoing, so we'll continue to watch the NCAA championship, and the left will continue to hijack sports to provoke leftist social change I'm Ben Shapiro, and by the way, if you subscribe to Dailywire, you can now watch the entire show live on YouTube. 00:00:00.000 The NCAA has now announced they will punish the entire state of North Carolina for the state law preventing localities from forcing businesses to let men pee next to little girls.
00:00:10.000 And they've stated that public bathroom facilities must be utilized in accordance with biological sex.
00:00:14.000 That's what the law says.
00:00:15.000 The NCAA statement explains that this is the worst.
00:00:18.000 Thing.
00:00:19.000 Ever.
00:00:20.000 According to their press release, quote, based on the NCAA's commitment to fairness and inclusion, the association will relocate all seven previously awarded championship events from North Carolina during the 2016-2017 academic year.
00:00:33.000 NCAA President Mark Emmert blathered, quote, fairness is about more than the opportunity to participate in college sports.
00:00:39.000 Or even compete for championships.
00:00:41.000 We believe in providing a safe and respectful environment at our events and are committed to providing the best experience possible for college athletes, fans, and everyone taking part in our championships.
00:00:51.000 The NCAA added that because North Carolina laws are discriminatory against LGBT Americans, they cannot hold their championships there.
00:00:59.000 Now look, the NCAA has every right to do this.
00:01:01.000 They're not a governmental body.
00:01:02.000 But this is immoral and idiotic virtue signaling.
00:01:05.000 The NCAA has not invalidated any of the NCAA-sanctioned events inside the state that are not high-profile.
00:01:11.000 Duke, UNC, University of North Carolina, they'll continue to compete in-state.
00:01:15.000 So if the NCAA is deeply afraid of the evil Charlotte North Carolinians picking up torches and going after Caitlyn Jenner, they really ought to cancel all the NCAA events in their state.
00:01:24.000 But they won't.
00:01:25.000 Because they're liars and they're hypocrites.
00:01:27.000 They also will not be disbanding independent male and female sports, which are, of course, cisgender and transphobic.
00:01:33.000 After all, if a man wants to play for women's teams, and a woman wants to play for men's teams, why must there be separate categories?
00:01:39.000 If gender is entirely a social construct, why should we reinforce that evil, terrible, awful social construct through separate, sex-specific sports?
00:01:47.000 The North Carolina GOP issued an epic response to all of this.
00:01:50.000 They said, quote,
00:02:04.000 They may already be doing that.
00:02:25.000 No answers will be forthcoming from the NCAA, but at least they have the support of the potential president of the United States, the ailing Hillary Clinton, who tweeted, quote, the NCAA is right to pull tournament games from North Carolina because of the anti-LGBT HB2 law.
00:02:38.000 Discrimination has no place in America, signed Hillary Clinton from her deathbed.
00:02:42.000 Except, of course, when it does have a place in America, when governmental actors promote boycotts against private actors in states that have laws they don't like.
00:02:50.000 How many members of Duke back HB2?
00:02:52.000 How many members of UNC do?
00:02:54.000 Anybody?
00:02:55.000 More importantly, Hillary and her crew are certainly happy to utilize the power of government to discriminate against women by forcing men into their bathrooms and locker rooms, and even more happy to discriminate against religious Americans who don't want to participate in same-sex ceremonies and activities.
00:03:10.000 When the NCAA is not pulling out of Washington State, where bakers are being sued out of existence for following their private religious principles.
00:03:17.000 The NCAA ought to pay a price from its audience for this sort of leftist pandering.
00:03:21.000 Americans ought to tune out their big games and events until the point when the NCAA stops being a tool for leftism and actually starts being a sports organization.
00:03:29.000 But that's the problem with us, conservatives.
00:03:31.000 We are too easygoing, so we'll continue to watch the NCAA championship, and the left will continue hijacking sports to provoke leftist social change.

00:05:27.000 On this magnificent show, which will obviously be the highlight of their lives and be put on their epitaphs after they die.
00:05:32.000 OK, so lots of things going on in the world, mostly speaking of dying.
00:05:37.000 Hillary Clinton called into CNN yesterday.
00:05:39.000 She called into Anderson Cooper's show.
00:05:41.000 Presumably they removed her from the Iron Lung long enough for her to call Anderson Cooper's show.
00:05:45.000 And she explained why it was that she didn't disclose that last Friday she was diagnosed with pneumonia and instead decided to go out to a 9-11 memorial on Sunday.
00:05:54.000 Where she promptly fell face first into the pavement and was grabbed and tossed like a sack of potatoes into a van, was driven to Chelsea Clinton's apartment.
00:06:00.000 By the way, the New York Post reports exactly what I said yesterday, which is the only reason they drove her to Chelsea's is they didn't want to go to the ER.
00:06:06.000 Because if they went to the ER, it blows up the story.
00:06:08.000 She apparently never saw a doctor until she got up to Chappaqua later on Monday, on Sunday afternoon.
00:06:15.000 And so Hillary Clinton calls into Anderson Cooper.
00:06:18.000 Presumably she's on an IV at this point.
00:06:19.000 Here's Hillary Clinton.
00:06:22.000 Why not just say on Friday, as you said apparently to Senator Schumer on Sunday, you know, I have pneumonia, folks.
00:06:28.000 I'm going to power through it.
00:06:29.000 Why keep it a secret?
00:06:32.000 Well, I just didn't think it was going to be that big a deal.
00:06:35.000 You know, I know Chuck said today he didn't tell anybody.
00:06:38.000 It's just the kind of thing that if it happens to you and you're a busy, active person, you keep moving forward.
00:06:46.000 I don't
00:07:01.000 I don't
00:07:17.000 She's a paranoid, and she has a tendency toward believing that the cover-up is always the smartest thing to do.
00:07:23.000 That's always the smartest thing to do.
00:07:24.000 Maybe the cover-up is the smartest thing to do.
00:07:25.000 We still don't know anything about her health records.
00:07:27.000 Hillary insisted that she was transparent as soon as she found out what was going on.
00:07:31.000 They were totally transparent.
00:07:34.000 Well, we're going to be releasing more information, and I think it's fair to say we've already met the standard of disclosure of past presidential candidates like Mitt Romney and President Obama.
00:07:46.000 We'll add more information, but I've already released information about my health in this campaign, as well as nearly 40 years of tax returns.
00:07:55.000 We've already met a high standard of transparency.
00:08:00.000 OK, we've met a high standard of transparency.
00:08:02.000 Does anyone in the world believe this?
00:08:04.000 Does anybody believe that Hillary has met a high standard of transparency?
00:08:07.000 So she says all this, and she was asked by Anderson Cooper, has this happened before?
00:08:10.000 He said, yeah, I think there were two times when I fainted.
00:08:13.000 Then there was Bill.
00:08:15.000 So there's two things about this particular clip that are funny.
00:08:18.000 So first, we're going to watch Bill Clinton tell Charlie Rose on PBS that Hillary has had this sort of thing in the past.
00:08:24.000 Here's what he said.
00:08:25.000 You wonder if it's not more serious.
00:08:28.000 No, no.
00:08:29.000 She's been dehydrated.
00:08:32.000 Well, if it is, it's a mystery to me and all of her doctors.
00:08:34.000 Rarely, but on more than one occasion over the last many, many years, the same sort of things happened to her when she just got severely dehydrated.
00:08:43.000 Okay, so it's happened on more than one occasion where she's been severely dehydrated.
00:08:47.000 She said it happened twice.
00:08:48.000 We know of at least four times when Hillary has fainted, 2005, 2009, 2012, when she bumped her head, and 2016, obviously, when she just fell over at this 9-11 memorial.
00:08:58.000 What's hilarious about this is that CBS News, when they first broadcast this clip, they had Bill saying, this rarely happened to Hillary.
00:09:05.000 Except that they missed, they cut out a particular line, which you're about to see.
00:09:10.000 She's been, well if it is, it's a mystery to me and all of her doctors because it's frequently, not frequently, rarely, but on more than one occasion over the last many, many years,
00:09:24.000 They're not lying, folks.
00:09:24.000 No, no, they're not lying, folks.
00:09:26.000 Frequently, well, not frequently.
00:09:28.000 I wouldn't say frequently.
00:09:29.000 Rarely.
00:09:29.000 That's what I was looking for.
00:09:30.000 They're the opposite, gang.
00:09:32.000 Frequently, well, I would say rarely this has happened before to Hillary.
00:09:36.000 CBS just slices it out.
00:09:37.000 Boom.
00:09:37.000 And they broadcast it on broadcast TV.
00:09:39.000 They release this online.
00:09:40.000 This is CBS's favorite thing to do.
00:09:42.000 CBS, with Scott Pelly particularly,
00:09:44.000 For years, they've been cutting out all the bad stuff for Democrats and sticking it online and hiding it online, hoping that nobody will ever see it.
00:09:51.000 This is just another incident of that.
00:09:53.000 Hillary continues to maintain that she's transparent.
00:09:55.000 Of course, Robby Mook, her campaign manager, he was asked about Hillary's health, and he said, you know, we're not going to go into details on when we found out about everything, because that's just not something we do, like tell the truth.
00:10:05.000 We don't do that.
00:10:06.000 I'm not going to get into details about who knew her medical information, but she made a determination with her doctor that she would power through this.
00:10:14.000 She didn't want it to affect anything.
00:10:16.000 And obviously on Sunday, when she got overheated, it was clear that she needed some downtime.
00:10:22.000 And so in consultation with her doctor, she's
00:10:25.000 Oh, she's just taking some down time.
00:10:27.000 And we're not going to go into who knew when and why we lied to people about it and why we didn't say anything and then why we claimed it was just dehydration as opposed to she had pneumonia.
00:10:35.000 We're not going to go into any of that because, I mean, honestly, why should we?
00:10:38.000 We've been so forthright and honest with everybody about everything for so—why would we possibly do anything like that?
00:10:44.000 Why would we possibly—I love this.
00:10:45.000 Brian Fallon, another Clinton spokesperson, he came out yesterday.
00:10:48.000 He says, don't worry, this week we'll release more health information.
00:10:52.000 Let me just say, Andrea, we've been in touch with her this morning and it is our intention that in the next couple days we're going to be releasing additional medical information about Hillary Clinton.
00:11:01.000 A year ago, over a year ago now, we released an extensive letter with a comprehensive medical history, family medical history, and state picture of her health.
00:11:12.000 That completely adheres to the norm for presidential candidates and far exceeds what Donald Trump has released.
00:11:17.000 But we're going to go beyond that.
00:11:19.000 And in the next few days, we've been in touch with her physician this morning to get those materials together.
00:11:24.000 We're going to be releasing that to further put to rest any lingering concerns about what you saw yesterday.
00:11:30.000 I can attest, Andrea, that it really is the case that there's no other undisclosed condition.
00:11:36.000 The pneumonia is the extent of it.
00:11:38.000 And I can also attest that her doctor has stated that there was nothing here in terms of anything that was caused by what happened in 2012.
00:11:48.000 Let's do it.
00:12:08.000 Does that make you feel secure about her health?
00:12:09.000 And this is a real question, because we should know whether the president is going to die in office before we get to vote for this person.
00:12:16.000 We should know how sick she is.
00:12:17.000 We should know everything.
00:12:18.000 We should have medical records.
00:12:20.000 And, you know, Donald Trump says, look, I don't take satisfaction in being right.
00:12:23.000 He's been questioning Hillary's health for a while.
00:12:24.000 He says, I don't take satisfaction in being right.
00:12:26.000 Here's Trump yesterday.
00:12:29.000 Given yesterday's events, and I'm sure you don't take any satisfaction in what we saw yesterday, but would you say that you were probably correct in your assessment?
00:12:43.000 Well, I don't take satisfaction, Joe, and frankly, you know, I hope she gets well, and I hope she gets well soon.
00:12:49.000 But, you know, it was quite sad, to be honest with you, and I hope she gets well soon.
00:12:56.000 Okay, so he says he doesn't take any glory in all of this, which is the smart play.
00:12:59.000 So Trump is under control, and Trump under control is the best Trump, right?
00:13:02.000 That's good Trump in our normal good Trump-bad Trump dichotomy.
00:13:06.000 Then, of course, you would imagine, so this week, Donald Trump is supposed to go on Dr. Oz,
00:13:11.000 We're good.
00:13:26.000 Snaggle-toothed young woman who runs out and says, Daddy, to Trump.
00:13:29.000 I just think it's for entertainment value, if nothing else.
00:13:32.000 I mean, we've seen everything else crazy in this election cycle.
00:13:35.000 So if we don't have a Maury Povich paternity moment, then I think that we've really missed out here.
00:13:39.000 I mean, we have already Rick Perry on Dancing with the Stars, so we're getting closer every single day.
00:13:43.000 But it's smart.
00:13:45.000 Trump is going out there and he's saying, OK, here's what you need to know about my health.
00:13:48.000 There's only one problem, which is that Kellyanne Conway says they're not going to release Trump's full health records.
00:13:53.000 This is the problem when you have two geriatrics running against each other.
00:13:56.000 And was it with Dr. Bornstein?
00:13:59.000 That I don't know.
00:14:00.000 I was not present for his physical.
00:14:02.000 But remember, Andrew, I mean, I'm with Dr. Oz and millions of Americans on this.
00:14:05.000 I don't know why we need such extensive medical reporting when we all have a right to privacy.
00:14:13.000 The entire argument in favor of Hillary releasing these medical reports is that we deserve to know extensive medical reporting.
00:14:19.000 And she says, well, we have to worry about privacy.
00:14:20.000 OK, that's Hillary's argument.
00:14:22.000 Now you're using Hillary's argument.
00:14:23.000 So now I think both of them are dying, right?
00:14:25.000 I mean, this is just...
00:14:26.000 It's ridiculous.
00:14:27.000 Why is this so hard?
00:14:28.000 I'm willing right now to turn over my full health reports.
00:14:30.000 It turns out there's nothing there that should scare anybody.
00:14:35.000 Medical privacy sort of goes out the window, except for you had an embarrassing fungal surgery.
00:14:42.000 It goes out the window the minute that you decide to run for president because I'm not releasing my tax returns today.
00:14:46.000 I'm not running for president.
00:14:47.000 If I did, I'd release my tax returns.
00:14:49.000 And we sort of have this basic expectation.
00:14:51.000 But in any case, Hillary's dishonesty, and this is the real point that I want to make here about Hillary's dishonesty, Hillary's dishonesty demonstrates she's not competent at this.
00:15:00.000 And so I'm not comfortable with Hillary being president, obviously, because she's deeply corrupt and because she's deeply evil.
00:15:05.000 But because she's deeply corrupt and deeply evil doesn't mean that she's competent.
00:15:09.000 So when we say that she's going to be just as damaging as Obama, I don't think she's going to be just as damaging as Obama, not because she doesn't have the same intent, but because Hillary is both corrupt and incompetent.
00:15:19.000 She's so transparent that everyone looks at her, even the media, which we'll get to in a minute, even the media look at her and they say, you suck at this.
00:15:25.000 You're terrible.
00:15:26.000 You're ineffective.
00:15:27.000 In other words, she's more Jimmy Carter than she is Barack Obama.
00:15:31.000 Obama's a tremendously effective politician.
00:15:33.000 He can use the stump.
00:15:34.000 He can pretend that he's not corrupt.
00:15:36.000 The media have covered for him for eight years.
00:15:38.000 Even the media can't cover for the fact that Hillary Clinton is a pathological liar who's deeply corrupt.
00:15:43.000 They can't cover for her.
00:15:44.000 So if she were president, God forbid, what you would end up with is a scandal-ridden presidency, no power in the bully pulpit, no possibility of convincing Congress.
00:15:52.000 You'd end up with gridlock because right now it looks like the Republicans maintain both the House and the Senate, in all probability.
00:15:59.000 You know, I think that some of the worries about Hillary Clinton being worse than Obama are overstated.
00:16:04.000 I think she's starting in a worse place than Obama started, because Obama's taken us pretty far.
00:16:07.000 But I think that Hillary's just not competent in a way that Obama is competent.
00:16:11.000 Which doesn't mean that you should support Hillary Clinton, because she's not going to be that bad.
00:16:14.000 She will be.
00:16:15.000 But what's going to prevent her from being
00:16:17.000 Really, truly awful in every possible conceivable way.
00:16:20.000 What's going to prevent her from being the worst president ever is not her motive.
00:16:24.000 What's going to prevent that is her competence level.
00:16:26.000 Her competence level is absolutely minimal.
00:16:28.000 It's absolutely low.
00:16:30.000 OK, we have to say hello to another sponsor really quickly, and that is Birch Gold.
00:16:33.000 So right now, if you're worried about the future of the country, you're worried about the future of the stock market and finances,
00:16:38.000 We should give our friends at Birch Gold Group a call.
00:16:40.000 Their number is 800-496-6663.
00:16:44.000 Birch Gold Group has a lot of five-star reviews, an A-plus rating with the Better Business Bureau, and one of their programs is helping you shift your eligible 401k into an IRA backed by physical gold and silver, if that's something that you're interested in.

00:18:08.000 That's right.
00:18:09.000 It's Deconstructing the Culture Day, so we watch music videos and make fun of them, essentially.
00:18:13.000 So we'll be doing that.
00:18:14.000 Plus, we have an epic Things I Like and Things I Hate, so lots more coming up.

00:18:19.000 You can also be part of the mailbag.
00:18:21.000 I'm Ben Shapiro, and join us over at dailywire.com right now.
00:18:30.000 Okay, so here we are, and the media are now reacting to Hillary Clinton being terrible at this, and she is.
00:18:35.000 I mean, what I said earlier, that Hillary is so bad at this that I'm not sure she would even be an effective president.
00:18:40.000 Even the media that loves her, or half-loves her, it's sort of a shotgun marriage.
00:18:44.000 They loved Obama, they half-love Hillary.
00:18:46.000 They love her because they have to, but it's more like a couple that's been married for 30 years, and the husband's cheated on the wife, and they're sort of forced into it because the kids are still in the house.
00:18:53.000 That's how the media loves Hillary Clinton.
00:18:56.000 The media, even the media have now been turning on Hillary Clinton.
00:19:00.000 Maureen Dowd, who's never really been a fan of the Clintons, she says that this just demonstrates how dishonest Hillary Clinton is.
00:19:07.000 Have they earned it?
00:19:07.000 Have they earned the benefit of the doubt, the Clintons?
00:19:10.000 No, and you know, I agree with David Axelrod, who said it isn't about the health, it's about the stealth.
00:19:17.000 The health issue this week is a perfect microcosm of why she has problems.
00:19:22.000 And, you know, I spent the—I started covering her in 92 when she first came on the scene, just as I did Trump in 99.
00:19:30.000 And that's why I thought, you know, I could give some context to this.
00:19:34.000 And this is the exact same pattern she follows every time, where Trump has his wall and she has her wall of defensiveness and secretiveness.
00:19:51.000 And she's right.
00:19:52.000 I mean, Maureen Dowd has always been a Clinton critic, but she's on the left, obviously.
00:19:55.000 And she acknowledges how dishonest Hillary is.
00:19:57.000 She's not the only one.
00:19:58.000 Chris Matthews.
00:20:16.000 The other question yesterday's incident raised can only be answered by the voters' attention to the candidate that lived with her propensity to release news only when releasing it had grown to be the only option.
00:20:26.000 Are they ready to accept what's called in politics rolling disclosure, admitting to the truth only when the truth is out in the public already?
00:20:32.000 For example, when there's an iPhone video airing that shows you being lifted into a car.
00:20:38.000 And he's exactly right, of course.
00:20:41.000 I really watched that video many times because I didn't want to believe Hillary Clinton was lying to me, but Hillary Clinton was lying to me, it turns out.
00:20:45.000 So I went home, I went to sleep, in my suit, all rumpled, got up, brushed my head with a shoe, came out of here, did a show, looked disappointed.
00:20:53.000 Chris Matthews, MSNBC.
00:20:55.000 He's right, too.
00:20:56.000 Even Hillary's biggest supporters are now saying that she hides things, which, again, means that as president, if she is, God forbid, elected president, that means that she is not going to be as effective as Obama, who's a really, really good liar, very smooth.
00:21:08.000 She doesn't have the charm of Bill Clinton either.
00:21:11.000 Now, there are still members of the media.
00:21:12.000 Let's not, let's not overplay this.
00:21:13.000 There are still members of the media who are going to defend Hillary Clinton at all costs.
00:21:16.000 Andrea Mitchell is one of them.
00:21:17.000 She and Hillary have just a wonderful love affair.
00:21:20.000 It's been going for years.
00:21:21.000 So here's Andrea Mitchell talking about how, yes, Hillary's a pathological liar who can't stop lying no matter what happens to her.
00:21:27.000 But don't worry, Trump is worse.
00:21:29.000 They had an affirmative obligation to tell us about the diagnosis of pneumonia.
00:21:34.000 And then the secrecy yesterday, and for an hour and a half, the press corps, the protective press,
00:21:39.000 The pool of reporters, which is supposed to be with her just for this kind of emergency, they are kept back at the ceremonies.
00:21:46.000 They don't know that she is, they're not told that she's gone to Chelsea's apartment.
00:21:50.000 Then they're brought there so that we can see her coming out looking very spry, you know, hugging the little girl.
00:21:56.000 And then, eight hours after this first happened, they finally tell us about the diagnosis of pneumonia that occurred on Friday.
00:22:04.000 I'm sorry.
00:22:05.000 There is an obligation
00:22:08.000 Not written, not in law, but there's an obligation and Donald Trump is even worse than she is in terms of telling us anything about his medical history.
00:22:15.000 So, you know, we've got a lot of problems with both campaigns.
00:22:19.000 Okay, so Trump is always worse, and this is what they're going to fall back on.
00:22:23.000 They have the reverse Dennis Prager logic.
00:22:25.000 No matter what happens, Donald Trump is always worse.
00:22:28.000 Christiane Amanpour is one of these pathological liars, wildly left on CNN, and she says, I don't understand the big deal.
00:22:36.000 Why can't a girl just have a sick day or two?
00:22:38.000 The media are having a field day.
00:22:40.000 Off to the races with another debilitating case of indignant outrage.
00:22:46.000 This must be another typical Clinton conspiracy to fool them with a total transparency breakdown.
00:22:53.000 Talk about transparency breakdown.
00:22:55.000 What about Donald Trump's tax returns?
00:22:57.000 Where are they?
00:22:58.000 Can't a girl have a sick day or two?
00:23:01.000 Don't get me started because when it comes to overqualified women having to try a hundred times harder than
00:23:08.000 Underqualified men to get a break or even a level playing field?
00:23:11.000 Well, we know that story.
00:23:14.000 Okay, so there will still be members of the media who defend her, but the overall numbers on Hillary suck.
00:23:19.000 I mean, everybody in the United States understands that she's deeply unpalatable, that she's really dishonest.
00:23:24.000 Nobody believes any of this crap.
00:23:26.000 And that's why, as I say, I think Hillary is less dangerous than Barack Obama, which is not to say that she should be elected, God forbid, or that you should vote for her, God forbid.
00:23:34.000 But it is to say that kind of the fears that Hillary will be a deeply effective president, I think, are overstated.
00:23:40.000 I don't think she's competent enough.
00:23:41.000 to be a deeply effective president, which doesn't mean she can't do bad things.
00:23:44.000 She can.
00:23:45.000 Okay.
00:23:46.000 Meanwhile, in other news, Donald Trump is on the offensive.
00:23:49.000 So it's time for a little bit of, you guessed it, Good Trump, Bad Trump.
00:23:52.000 Thank you to Brandon Snipes for the theme.
00:24:01.000 Okay.
00:24:02.000 So let's start with a little bit of Good Trump.
00:24:05.000 So Hillary Clinton, well, sorry, I have to do the face.
00:24:09.000 Good Trump.
00:24:09.000 Okay, so Hillary Clinton, of course, over the weekend, she said that half of Donald Trump's people, half the people voting for Donald Trump, are deplorables, the deplorables.
00:24:20.000 These are the racist, sexist, bigot, homophobe, Islamophobe, xenophobe, blablaphobe, everybody-phobe, right?
00:24:27.000 These are the deplorables.
00:24:28.000 And here was Donald Trump going after Hillary Clinton yesterday, very effectively in Baltimore.
00:24:34.000 These were the people, Hillary Clinton, so viciously
00:24:39.000 Demonized.
00:24:42.000 These were among the countless Americans that Hillary Clinton called deplorable, irredeemable, and un-American.
00:24:53.000 Nobody's heard anything like this.
00:24:57.000 She called these patriotic men and women every vile name in the book.
00:25:02.000 She called them racist, sexist, xenophobic, Islamophobic,
00:25:09.000 She called half of our supporters a basket of deplorables in both a speech and an interview.
00:25:21.000 She divides people into baskets as though they were objects, not human beings.
00:25:29.000 We know a couple of things about Hillary Clinton.
00:25:31.000 One, she loves basket.
00:25:32.000 Two, she hates water, which means that she's the Wicked Witch of the West, technically.
00:25:36.000 So, in any case, he's exactly right.
00:25:39.000 When she goes after half of Trump's support base as deplorables, these racist, sexist, bigot, homophobes, that's nuts.
00:25:45.000 And when Trump says this, he's exactly right.
00:25:48.000 And this is a strong attack for him.
00:25:50.000 What's amazing, and it really is interesting, is that Hillary Clinton is actually more insulting than Mitt Romney was.
00:25:56.000 In 2012, Mitt Romney said 47% of the public think of themselves as victims, which is not true.
00:26:01.000 You know, just because you're not paying income tax doesn't mean you think of yourself as a victim.
00:26:04.000 In fact, lots of people who don't pay income tax vote Republican.
00:26:07.000 But in any case, Donald Trump, what Hillary Clinton said,
00:26:11.000 Was that half of Trump supporters are these deplorables and the other half of the supporters are people who think of themselves as victims of the government and victims of the broader society.
00:26:20.000 And it's like, well, no, there are a lot of Trump supporters, and I'm not one of them, but there are a lot of Trump supporters who think of themselves as free and independent human beings who just don't want Hillary Clinton to be president.
00:26:29.000 There are lots of those folks.
00:26:30.000 There are lots of those folks.
00:26:31.000 So Trump is exactly right to speak out about this.
00:26:35.000 And he continues, he says that Hillary looks down at the American people, and she does, he's right.
00:26:40.000 After months of hiding from the press, Hillary Clinton has revealed her true thoughts.
00:26:46.000 That was her true thoughts.
00:26:49.000 She revealed herself to be a person who looks down on the proud citizens of our country as subjects for her rule.
00:26:59.000 She views it as her rule.
00:27:02.000 Her comments displayed the same sense of arrogance and entitlement that led to violation
00:27:10.000 Okay, Trump is exactly right.
00:27:11.000 This is good Trump.
00:27:12.000 This is the best Trump.
00:27:14.000 Okay, this is Trump on a roll.
00:27:34.000 It's excellent.
00:27:34.000 He's exactly right.
00:27:35.000 You don't get to call one quarter of the American public racist, sexist, bigot, homophobes just because you disagree with them.
00:27:41.000 Barack Obama did the same thing back in 2008 when he said that everybody who didn't want to vote for him was a bitter clinger.
00:27:46.000 But for Democrats, there are really only two types of people in the United States, potential Democrat voters
00:27:51.000 People who think of themselves as victims of government.
00:27:53.000 That's who she was talking about as the other basket.
00:27:55.000 And then there are the deplorables, the evil people.
00:27:57.000 And that's how Democrats think, because if they didn't think that way, they would actually have to craft policy that makes sense.
00:28:02.000 Instead, what they do is they say, everyone who disagrees with me is a racist.
00:28:06.000 Everyone who agrees with me is a victim of the system that I'm going to help.
00:28:09.000 This is how they divide the universe.
00:28:10.000 I, you know, I think that there are racists.
00:28:12.000 I think there are people who feel victimized by the system.
00:28:14.000 I think there are people who rightly and wrongly feel victimized by the system.
00:28:17.000 I think there are people who don't feel victimized by the system.
00:28:19.000 They just want to be left alone.
00:28:21.000 I think there are lots of different types of people in the United States.
00:28:23.000 Trump is right to signal this.
00:28:25.000 Now, that doesn't mean the media are going to cover it.
00:28:27.000 In fact, media are desperate to now spin this deplorables line that Hillary dropped, which is a bad line for her.
00:28:33.000 They were desperate to spin this against Trump.
00:28:35.000 So Joe Scarborough on MSNBC, he says that this deplorables comment is not a big deal.
00:28:40.000 We should just ignore it.
00:28:42.000 I think 50% is high and I think she made a mistake generalizing.
00:28:46.000 After 9-11, over 35% of Democrats thought that George Bush was inside on the attacks on 9-11.
00:28:58.000 You know, probably the same number if they took polling, though FDR was inside on the inside of Pearl Harbor.
00:29:05.000 She said it was grossly generalistic.
00:29:08.000 Is there one racist or insulting or inappropriate
00:29:14.000 Comment that Donald Trump has made that he has apologized for along the way, that we have talked about it for 10 minutes.
00:29:19.000 Did he apologize?
00:29:20.000 No.
00:29:21.000 He offered that blanket apology where he said if there's anybody I've ever offended, you know, without specifying.
00:29:29.000 I've got to say, I think at the end of the day, this is much ado about nothing.
00:29:32.000 I mean, everybody's going to, the Trump campaign thinks this is huge.
00:29:36.000 People are going to be hyperventilating about it a lot.
00:29:39.000 We won't be talking about it next week.
00:29:41.000 Nobody will remember
00:29:41.000 We'll be right back with much more Morning Joe.
00:29:43.000 Okay.
00:29:44.000 And we're not going to watch much more Morning Joe because it's a terrible show.
00:29:47.000 And Beaker over there, he says that this isn't going to be a big deal come next week.
00:29:51.000 If the media can help it, meep meep, then they will ensure that there is no, that this is not a big story come next week.
00:29:57.000 But they're actually trying to spin it further than this.
00:29:59.000 They're trying to say that Hillary Clinton was right, that the Trump campaign is filled with deplorables.
00:30:03.000 Chris Hayes tries to say that all of the Trump people are deplorables on MSNBC.
00:30:08.000 There are people.
00:30:09.000 I mean, Alex Jones.
00:30:10.000 This guy believes 9-11 was an inside job, that there were child actors that faked their own death in Newtown.
00:30:15.000 Like, Donald Trump went on his show and said, you have a good reputation.
00:30:18.000 Like, he is supporting Donald Trump.
00:30:20.000 Like, that's a deplorable person.
00:30:21.000 I could find you folks in the Hillary Clinton camp that are deplorable.
00:30:23.000 You cannot find an equivalent to Alex Jones?
00:30:25.000 And why is it you're always fixating on the half that she called deplorable?
00:30:28.000 And why don't you admit that she insulted all Trump supporters when she said half are deplorable trash?
00:30:33.000 Hang on.
00:30:34.000 She didn't say trash.
00:30:35.000 She didn't say trash.
00:30:57.000 I'm gonna believe that poll.
00:30:58.000 Okay.
00:30:59.000 Okay, but let's say the polling's wrong.
00:31:01.000 I mean, it is not the Trump campaign's position.
00:31:03.000 Oh, you should mention, I see... Clinton is 31%!
00:31:05.000 I'm getting excited!
00:31:06.000 You should mention how they say, oh, well, some Trump supporters don't believe Obama was born here.
00:31:10.000 Like Clinton supporters, who are the ones who started the birther controversy.
00:31:14.000 No, but the polling... So we can do this all day, Chris.
00:31:16.000 Wait, no, but this is a real question, right?
00:31:18.000 This view, viewing African Americans... By the way, you don't admit that the Clinton supporters are the ones that started the...
00:31:23.000 No, and also the polling.
00:31:25.000 This is fact.
00:31:25.000 No, Andy Martin actually started it.
00:31:27.000 I wrote a piece about this.
00:31:28.000 This is fact.
00:31:29.000 Look up Ben Smith's report.
00:31:31.000 Andy Martin started the Bertha thing, who's a very weird guy.
00:31:34.000 So what they try to do, the new media spin, and it's Vox.com, and it's the New York Times today, Charles Bloom, the New York Times, the Washington Post, is that, no, secretly, the Donald Trump people are all racist.
00:31:44.000 They really are all a bunch of bigots.
00:31:45.000 And they cite polls like this that say that blacks are more violent than whites.
00:31:49.000 You know, there are a lot of reasons why people would respond that way in a poll, some really, really terrible, some based on misunderstanding.
00:31:57.000 But, again, there are polls on the other side that show just as terrible things being said.
00:32:01.000 I mean, again, if you asked, and Scarborough even mentioned this, and he's right, if you asked Democrats in the aftermath of 9-11, was Bush behind 9-11, a huge percentage of them thought so.
00:32:10.000 A majority of Democrats think Bush lied, people died in Iraq.
00:32:13.000 I mean, conspiracy theories are not reserved to one side of the aisle, and racial nastiness is not reserved to one side of the aisle either.
00:32:19.000 I mean, remember, a huge percentage of Democrats today think Colin Kaepernick is right to kneel down for the national anthem because cops are inherently racist.
00:32:26.000 So, you know, this kind of stuff can be put on anybody.
00:32:29.000 It's real garbage time by the media, which doesn't mean that there wasn't a screw-up.
00:32:33.000 So, now it's time for a little bit of bad Trump.
00:32:36.000 Now, to be fair, to be fair, this particular bad Trump is bad Mike Pence.
00:32:40.000 So Mike Pence goes on CNN with Wolf Blitzer.
00:32:43.000 And Wolf Blitzer, in an attempt to spin the deplorable story in favor of Hillary, he wants Mike Pence to now admit that there are people who are going to vote for Trump who are deplorable.
00:32:52.000 This is his tactic.
00:32:53.000 His new tactic is, I have to figure out how Hillary's thing isn't that bad, so there are deplorable people who back Trump.
00:32:58.000 If I can get Pence to say the word deplorable, then Hillary's not wrong when she says there's a basket of deplorables inside the Trump campaign, inside the Trump support base.
00:33:07.000 That's Blitzer's goal.
00:33:08.000 And you'll see how Mike Pence doesn't want to say deplorable, but he botches this utterly.
00:33:13.000 Just utterly botches it.
00:33:14.000 There are supporters, and you know this, there are some supporters of Donald Trump and Mike Pence who
00:33:21.000 Well, as I've told you the last time I was on, I'm not really sure why the media keeps dropping David Duke's name.
00:33:37.000 Donald Trump has denounced David Duke repeatedly.
00:33:40.000 We don't want his support.
00:33:41.000 And we don't want the support of people who think like him.
00:33:43.000 Well, you'd call him a deplorable.
00:33:44.000 You would call him that.
00:33:45.000 No, I don't.
00:33:46.000 I'm not in the name-calling business, Wolf.
00:33:48.000 You know me better than that.
00:33:48.000 Okay, we can stop it right there.
00:33:49.000 That's the important part.
00:33:50.000 So, he says, so you'd call him a deplorable.
00:33:52.000 And that's Blitzer shilling for Hillary Clinton.
00:33:54.000 I mean, that's exactly what it is.
00:33:55.000 He's sitting there going, you just said you don't want to associate with him, you don't want his support, you don't want the support of people who think like him.
00:34:01.000 That's not enough.
00:34:01.000 You have to use Hillary's word, deplorable.
00:34:04.000 Now, there are two possible responses that Pence could give that would have been okay here.
00:34:08.000 Neither of them is the one that he gave.
00:34:09.000 He could have said, one, yes, of course David Duke is deplorable.
00:34:13.000 What's just as deplorable as David Duke is you slandering millions of Americans by saying they're David Duke.
00:34:20.000 That's deplorable.
00:34:21.000 It's disgusting.
00:34:23.000 Hillary's disgusting for doing that.
00:34:24.000 He could do that, and that's the end of the story.
00:34:26.000 Or he could say, you know what, David Duke is just a trash heap.
00:34:30.000 His philosophy is gross.
00:34:31.000 His philosophy is nasty.
00:34:33.000 And then if he keeps saying deplorable, you just say, I don't understand your insistence on the word deplorable.
00:34:37.000 Are you just showing for Hillary Clinton?
00:34:38.000 Is that the goal here?
00:34:39.000 This is not hard to do.
00:34:41.000 But Pence went in there with the goal of, I'm not going to say the word deplorable.
00:34:43.000 So instead, what comes out of his mouth is, no, I'm not going to call David Duke deplorable.
00:34:47.000 I'm not in the insult business.
00:34:48.000 When it comes to the KKK and David Duke, you might want to try the insult business.
00:34:52.000 It's a pretty good business.
00:34:54.000 Just try it as an amateur.
00:34:55.000 See if you like it.
00:34:57.000 But the problem is that now they've got the headline, and this is the headline that the media dishonestly pushed yesterday, which is that Pence doesn't think David Duke is deplorable.
00:35:04.000 Which, again, it was a trap, and he fell right into it.
00:35:07.000 Kellyanne Conway basically acknowledged as much today.
00:35:10.000 She said, yeah, Pence should have just said he's deplorable.
00:35:13.000 Donald Trump's running mate, Mike Pence, have said that David Duke is deplorable.
00:35:19.000 He should, sure, so that he doesn't get headlines saying, Mike Pence will not say Donald Trump is deplorable.
00:35:25.000 And people can get satisfied, but can people play the entire clip?
00:35:27.000 He clearly said, on your network, and thank you for playing the entire clip.
00:35:31.000 We don't want to support, we don't like what he stands for or people stand for in the KKK.
00:35:35.000 But there is this, he's got another point, there is this certain obsession about constantly raising issues and raising people that are not part of our campaign.
00:35:44.000 Okay, this is Kellyanne Conway doing it right.
00:35:47.000 So she's much better at this than Mike Pence.
00:35:49.000 Maybe they should have nominated her for vice president.
00:35:51.000 In any case, that's a screw-up.
00:35:52.000 Okay, that's kind of minor bad Trump, and it's stupid, it's annoying.
00:35:57.000 Don't make these kinds of mistakes, gang.
00:35:59.000 But here's the real bad Trump, and this is where we get into the reason why I'm a person who says I'm not going to vote for Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton.
00:36:09.000 Now, number one, I want to make one point.
00:36:11.000 I wrote a piece about this today at DailyWire.com.
00:36:13.000 You can read it.
00:36:14.000 I'm getting very sick of hearing from people who say, if you won't support Trump, you want Hillary elected.
00:36:19.000 As you know from watching this show, I think that Hillary Clinton is a deeply evil human being.
00:36:23.000 I think Hillary Clinton is a liar.
00:36:25.000 I think she believes in terrible things.
00:36:27.000 I think that she wants things that are really bad to happen to a lot of very good Americans.
00:36:31.000 I think that Hillary Clinton is a very bad human being.
00:36:33.000 I don't want to see Hillary Clinton elected.
00:36:35.000 I'm very sick of hearing that because I won't vote for Trump, that means I want Hillary elected.
00:36:40.000 That's like saying I want to eat a cheeseburger today because I want to die of heart disease.
00:36:43.000 That's my primary motivation in eating a cheeseburger.
00:36:46.000 I can't.
00:36:46.000 But if I could eat a cheeseburger, my primary motivation in eating a cheeseburger would be that I want to die of heart disease.
00:36:51.000 No, that's a secondary effect.
00:36:53.000 So I will acknowledge freely that if I don't vote in the state of California, that I have decreased Donald Trump's chances of winning the state of California by precisely .0000003%.
00:37:05.000 And Mitt Romney lost California by 3 million votes.
00:37:08.000 So, I've decreased, if I won't vote for Trump in California, I've decreased his likelihood of success by .0000003%.
00:37:14.000 Okay, that's great.
00:37:18.000 Okay, so you win.
00:37:20.000 I've decreased his level of chance of winning in California by that much.
00:37:24.000 And I'll acknowledge also that my refusal to shill for Trump doesn't help Trump as much as it would if I were Sean Hannity and went out there every night just
00:37:33.000 Licking Trump's feet.
00:37:34.000 That if I did that, presumably it would help Trump more.
00:37:37.000 But I'm not going to do that because I'm an honest person and I'm going to tell you what Trump does and what Trump does not do.
00:37:43.000 So that being the case, Donald Trump today came out, or he's supposed to come out later today, and he's supposed to speak in favor of paid maternity leave.
00:37:51.000 Yes, paid maternity leave.
00:37:52.000 So paid maternity leave, there are two ways to do paid maternity leave.
00:37:55.000 One is state-sponsored paid maternity leave.
00:37:57.000 The other is state-mandated paid maternity leave.
00:37:59.000 Paid maternity leave,
00:38:01.000 On a mandated level is you force private businesses to cover the maternity leave of women who want to take off time for pregnancy.
00:38:08.000 Now, this is something with which I have experience.
00:38:10.000 My wife has been pregnant twice.
00:38:11.000 She took off a year from medical school with our first baby.
00:38:13.000 She took off a few months between medical school and her residency with baby number two, and she took off her first rotation from residency with a baby.
00:38:21.000 Now, what paid maternity leave, mandated paid maternity leave actually does, what it actually does, when you mandate that a business pay for maternity leave, it creates a bunch of costs for a business.
00:38:30.000 Those costs include, first, you actually have to cover the temp who has to cover, two, you have to pay for the benefits, and three, you lose the productivity, the difference between the temp and the permanent worker.
00:38:41.000 If you mandate paid maternity leave, which increases the cost here, if you do that,
00:38:46.000 What you're actually doing is incentivizing businesses never to hire young married women or young women capable of becoming pregnant.
00:38:53.000 Really, because you're going to lose money if you do that.
00:38:56.000 So that's why mandated paid maternity leave is actually counterproductive.
00:38:59.000 It actually means less women are hired in the workplace.
00:39:02.000 This is a reality.
00:39:02.000 In California, we have mandated paid maternity leave.
00:39:05.000 My wife, when she was interviewing for her job, for her residency, she had to assure employers that she didn't intend on getting pregnant for a certain period of time, even though it's kind of illegal to ask about it.
00:39:15.000 And by the way, she was pregnant when she did these interviews, so she tried to assure that when she did the interviews, she wasn't so heavily pregnant that they could see she was about to have a baby.
00:39:23.000 So these are real concerns for women.
00:39:25.000 Paid maternity leave doesn't solve them, it makes them worse.
00:39:27.000 Paid maternity leave, on the other hand, the idea that the taxpayer is supposed to pick up the tab for a woman having a baby, it discriminates against single people, it discriminates against elderly people, it discriminates against people who are gay, it discriminates against people who already have kids but are not eligible for the maternity leave benefit.
00:39:43.000 So I make too much money to be eligible for the benefits Trump is talking about, so that means that I have to subsidize somebody else taking off time from their job, even though we lost money when my wife took off time from hers?
00:39:53.000 Okay, so it used to be a basic conservative principle that paid maternity leave was not something conservative.
00:39:59.000 Ivanka Trump is the one pushing this.
00:40:00.000 Ivanka Trump, that famed Republican who was registered as an independent up until five minutes ago.
00:40:05.000 She was registered as an independent.
00:40:07.000 During the New York primaries, she couldn't even vote for her daddy, and she's the one who hangs out with Chelsea Clinton and David Geffen.
00:40:13.000 She's now defining paid maternity leave policy for this super, super conservative Donald Trump candidacy, which is just ridiculous and a joke.
00:40:21.000 But here's the problem with the paid maternity leave, and it's not even a problem with Trump, because you have to expect Trump to be Trump.
00:40:25.000 He is not conservative.
00:40:27.000 He is much more in line with blue-dog Democrat politics than he is with Republican politics.
00:40:31.000 This is not a surprise.
00:40:33.000 When I say that I fear that Donald Trump is going to carve away the conservative movement, it's because he's already doing it.
00:40:39.000 It's because he is already doing it.
00:40:41.000 Let me give you an example.
00:40:42.000 So, here is Laura Ingraham.
00:40:44.000 This is a tweet that she wrote.
00:40:45.000 This is 29A.
00:40:46.000 This is Laura Ingraham's tweet back from January 20th, 2015.
00:40:49.000 And she's talking about Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, both of whom are stumping for six months of paid maternity leave.
00:40:55.000 Quote,
00:40:56.000 Paid sick leave.
00:40:57.000 Paid maternity leave.
00:40:58.000 Paid childcare.
00:40:59.000 And it's all free!
00:41:01.000 And about 9,000 E's at the end.
00:41:03.000 She's making fun of these things.
00:41:04.000 You shouldn't have these things, is what she's saying.
00:41:06.000 At least not government mandated.
00:41:08.000 This is Laura Ingraham, January 20th, 2015.
00:41:10.000 Let's fast forward to today.
00:41:12.000 Here's Laura Ingraham today.
00:41:14.000 Quote, need to see details regarding how Trump proposes to pay for a new six-week maternity benefit.
00:41:19.000 Savings because those women won't go on disability?
00:41:22.000 Question mark.
00:41:23.000 So now it's possible.
00:41:24.000 Now it's fine.
00:41:25.000 Now it's fine.
00:41:26.000 Trump, by the way, says that he's going to eliminate fraud and waste and abuse, which is basically a—that's a cop-out, okay?
00:41:31.000 There's not enough fraud, waste, and abuse in the system to pay for all this crap.
00:41:34.000 There just isn't.
00:41:35.000 And also, your idea is you're going to eliminate the waste, fraud, and abuse in the current governmental scheme, and you're going to set up a new governmental scheme that has no waste, fraud, and abuse?
00:41:43.000 How does that work?
00:41:44.000 But you can see Laura Ingraham has twisted her ideology to fit Donald Trump.
00:41:48.000 There's a perfect example of it.
00:41:50.000 Bill Mitchell, who is my favorite person on Twitter now, this is the guy who does this, this really hysterically funny—he's not a parody account, which is what makes it even funnier.
00:41:58.000 He does this pro-Trump radio show.
00:42:01.000 And, uh, and caps his teeth.
00:42:03.000 Those are his two claims to fame.
00:42:04.000 Bill Mitchell tweets, quote, he tweets this January 28th, quote,
00:42:21.000 Okay, gang, this is what we call intellectual dishonesty, and Trump is making people have it in spades.
00:42:26.000 It's happening over and over and over again.
00:42:28.000 I'll give you another example.
00:42:30.000 I'm old enough to remember when Sean Hannity thought that Julian Assange, the WikiLeaks guy, was a traitor.
00:42:35.000 That Julian Assange was the guy who was revealing all sorts of classified information, including information about our fighting men and women, and he wanted Julian Assange put in jail.
00:42:43.000 This was him with Julian Assange last week, because Julian Assange is now leaking material.
00:42:47.000 He's a Russian agent.
00:42:49.000 Julian Assange, fascinating.
00:42:50.000 I do hope you get free one day.
00:42:52.000 I wish you the best.
00:42:52.000 Thank you for being with us.
00:43:04.000 Thank you, Sean.
00:43:25.000 Widely praised, Claremont Review of Books, Flight 93 essay.
00:43:29.000 They said that the best thing about Trump's policies were his isolationism, his Ron Paul isolationism, his notions of Dick Gephardt anti-free market routine, anti-free trade routine, and his Tom Tancredo immigration plan.
00:43:43.000 Okay?
00:43:43.000 All of which, by the way, the Republicans used to not be in favor of.
00:43:47.000 The only one that there's anything to say for is Tom Tancredo.
00:43:51.000 But that's become the new conservatism.
00:43:52.000 So the idea that this isn't a new philosophy, or that people aren't shifting to meet Trump, is absolute crap, and it's very frustrating.
00:44:00.000 And to pretend that it's not happening is just silly.
00:44:02.000 If you don't think it's happening, listen to the people, even the people who say they're holding their nose and voting for Trump.
00:44:07.000 How many of those people are willing to speak out clearly today about paid maternity leave?
00:44:11.000 Watch.
00:44:12.000 Really.
00:44:12.000 I mean, listen to people who I respect and people whose shows I like.
00:44:17.000 Listen to them today.
00:44:18.000 And listen to how many of them will dedicate any significant time to paid maternity leave, why it's wrong, and why it's a left policy.
00:44:24.000 The answer is going to be close to zero.
00:44:26.000 Just like last week, they weren't willing to talk about Putin.
00:44:28.000 Just like they're not willing to talk about free trade anymore because Trump is anti-free trade.
00:44:32.000 People pervert their ideology to fit Trump.
00:44:34.000 That has real ramifications for the conservative movement.
00:44:37.000 Plus, Trump's—I mean, just look at the polls.
00:44:39.000 He's toxic with young people.
00:44:40.000 He's toxic with minorities.
00:44:41.000 He's toxic with women.
00:44:42.000 All right.
00:44:43.000 All those things said, time for some things I like and some things that I hate.
00:44:46.000 So, we're actually doing memoirs this week that I like.
00:44:48.000 There aren't that many memoirs that I like.
00:44:50.000 Most memoirs are really quite terrible.
00:44:53.000 Most of them are overwrought.
00:44:54.000 Yesterday, we did Hillbilly Elegy, which is a good book by J.D.
00:44:57.000 Vance.
00:44:57.000 Today is one that you're not going to expect me to do—the autobiography of Malcolm X.
00:45:03.000 The reason that I say that you should read this is because it's an important book, not because it's a true book.
00:45:08.000 The guy who helped write this with Malcolm X was Alex Haley, who is also behind the falsified History and Roots.
00:45:14.000 But the autobiography of Malcolm X is interesting because Malcolm X has now become a more important figure for the left than Martin Luther King.
00:45:20.000 They now believe that Malcolm X is basically correct.
00:45:23.000 White people and black people are in eternal strife.
00:45:26.000 There's no way to calm that down except by pandering.
00:45:28.000 And so Malcolm X is the real voice of the militant black community, not Martin Luther King.
00:45:33.000 What's interesting when you read this is that the autobiography of Malcolm X was meant to be a transitional story.
00:45:38.000 It was meant to be a story about a guy who was militant and who realized near the end of his life that the sort of militants that he appreciated in the nation of Islam was actually wrong and that he wanted a more humanist notion of coming together.
00:45:53.000 And that's not how people think of Malcolm X. That's not the Malcolm X that the left glorifies.
00:45:57.000 People who wear X t-shirts are people who like early Malcolm X, the white devil's Malcolm X, the Malcolm X who was avidly a racist, ardently a racist, ardently an anti-Semite.
00:46:07.000 Alex Haley, by the way, whitewashed a lot of that in the autobiography, but you should read it because this has become sort of a proof text for the left.
00:46:14.000 And so you should read it so that you know what the left actually thinks about race.
00:46:18.000 By the time he gets to his transition, that's when he's already a race traitor, according to some folks on the left.
00:46:22.000 But the early Malcolm X is the part that's important to understand what the left truly believes about race, and they think that Malcolm X is a racial hero as opposed to a racial villain.
00:46:30.000 And let's face it, Malcolm X was not Martin Luther King when he was speaking about white devils and the incompatibility of white people and black people living together.
00:46:37.000 That's villainous stuff.
00:46:39.000 We're good to go.
00:47:00.000 Colin Kaepernick is brave.
00:47:02.000 Cops are pigs, cops are pigs.
00:47:05.000 Wait, someone just took my stuff.
00:47:08.000 I need to call the cops.
00:47:10.000 Oh no, I just said cops are pigs.
00:47:13.000 Now who's going to help me get my stuff?
00:47:16.000 Why did I listen to Colin Kaepernick?
00:47:19.000 He's not even any good.
00:47:21.000 Oh, I just got all my stuff back.
00:47:23.000 Cops are pigs again, cops are pigs.
00:47:26.000 Colin Kaepernick's a good backup.
00:47:31.000 And that is indeed the leftist perspective on Colin Kaepernick and the cops.
00:47:34.000 Other things that I like.
00:47:35.000 This is just hysterical.
00:47:36.000 So last night, there was a game between the new Los Angeles Rams, who still have not scored a point since 1994, and the San Francisco 49ers.
00:47:45.000 And the most interesting part of the game was not the game.
00:47:49.000 Some guy decided to run onto the field.
00:47:51.000 And Kevin Harlan is a radio sports announcer, and here was his reaction.
00:47:54.000 He actually called the play.
00:47:55.000 It's really funny.
00:47:56.000 Secondary.
00:47:57.000 Hey, somebody has run out on the field.
00:47:59.000 Some goofball in a hat.
00:48:01.000 And a red shirt.
00:48:02.000 Now he takes off the shirt!
00:48:03.000 He's running down the middle by the 50!
00:48:05.000 He's at the 30!
00:48:06.000 He's bare-chested and banging his chest!
00:48:09.000 Now he runs the opposite way!
00:48:11.000 He runs at the 50!
00:48:12.000 He runs at the 40!
00:48:13.000 The guy is drunk!
00:48:14.000 But there he goes!
00:48:15.000 The 20!
00:48:15.000 They're chasing him!
00:48:17.000 They're not gonna get him!
00:48:18.000 Waving his arms!
00:48:19.000 Bare-chested!
00:48:20.000 Somebody stop that man!
00:48:22.000 Here comes the Bluecoats!
00:48:23.000 Oh, they got him!
00:48:23.000 They're coming from the left!
00:48:25.000 That was the most exciting thing to happen tonight.
00:48:33.000 I tell you what, that was a great call on your part.
00:48:36.000 That was a great call.
00:48:38.000 All right, I'm ready for the last 1131 now, Kevin.
00:48:41.000 Let's go.
00:48:42.000 Terrible, terrible game.
00:48:44.000 Kevin Harlan, hero of the day for that terrific sports call.
00:48:47.000 I mean, honestly, like the people in sports should take themselves less seriously and be like Kevin Harlan.
00:48:52.000 That's just fantastic.
00:48:53.000 OK.
00:48:54.000 Things that I hate.
00:48:55.000 So Jimmy Kimmel yesterday, he decides that he's very upset with Hillary Clinton and her falling down on the job.
00:49:07.000 So here is Jimmy Kimmel talking about this.
00:49:10.000 He had to cancel the trip because of illness.
00:49:12.000 You probably know Hillary was coughing a lot in public last week, and then yesterday she was forced to leave a 9-11 memorial because she was feeling faint.
00:49:20.000 Turns out on Friday, Clinton's doctor had diagnosed her with pneumonia, but they kept it secret until this happened and they were forced to admit it.
00:49:27.000 You know, these conspiracy theories about Hillary Clinton's health, I don't believe if they didn't actually come true.
00:49:34.000 Or maybe, just maybe there's another story here.
00:49:37.000 Let's run the video where she had to be helped into the van.
00:49:39.000 You probably saw this on the news.
00:49:41.000 Now this is just... That's Hillary's... We see she's being kind of supported by one of her handlers there.
00:49:49.000 And then she stumbles a little bit.
00:49:51.000 And they actually, Secret Service has to kind of put her into the van.
00:49:55.000 They even get in between her and the news cameras.
00:49:58.000 But I tell you, maybe Hillary Clinton doesn't have pneumonia.
00:50:00.000 Maybe Hillary Clinton had a few too many shots of Trump vodka the night before.
00:50:08.000 From Arkansas to New York.
00:50:11.000 Okay, so it goes on like this.
00:50:13.000 So here's what I don't like about this.
00:50:15.000 So this is all fine and dandy, except that Jimmy Kimmel last week was helping her show on health.
00:50:20.000 Last week, right?
00:50:22.000 We played it on the show.
00:50:23.000 He had her open a pre-opened pickle jar and he took her pulse to prove how healthy she was.
00:50:27.000 And there he is saying, well, you know, I can't believe that she lied to us about her health.
00:50:31.000 You lied to us about her health!
00:50:33.000 You were part of it, right?
00:50:34.000 Trevor Noah did the same thing.
00:50:35.000 The least funny man on Earth.
00:50:36.000 He's actually been officially notified of this by the Guinness Book of World Records.
00:50:39.000 The least funny person on planet Earth.
00:50:41.000 Trevor Noah of Comedy Central.
00:50:43.000 He's very upset with Hillary Clinton.
00:50:44.000 He says she should have just told us the truth.
00:50:46.000 This is the problem with the Clintons.
00:50:49.000 It's not the things that they do that get them.
00:50:52.000 It's the way they try and cover them up.
00:50:54.000 Because if you knew on Friday, Hillary, that you had pneumonia, and you've known for a while that your opponents have been saying that you are hiding a terminal illness, you could end all the speculation by being transparent, just coming out and saying, I have pneumonia.
00:51:07.000 Instead, you walk out of your daughter's apartment acting like nothing's wrong,
00:51:12.000 And, I mean, look at that.
00:51:13.000 The pressure's there.
00:51:14.000 Walking out of that apartment was Hillary's chance to set things right.
00:51:16.000 I mean, here are just a few of the things Hillary could have said.
00:51:20.000 I have pneumonia, you... Oh, I'm going, I'm going, I'm going down.
00:51:28.000 I'm going down again.
00:51:32.000 Psych!
00:51:34.000 Hey everyone, so I have pneumonia and I decided to work today anyway, despite my doctor's advice.
00:51:42.000 But let's be honest, if I hadn't come to the 9-11 memorial today, you would have called me unpatriotic and chewed me out.
00:51:49.000 So I guess in the end, it doesn't really matter.
00:51:54.000 All right, bye-bye!
00:51:56.000 In other words, even when they're trying to say that Hillary is dishonest, she's a hero.
00:52:01.000 She's a hero.
00:52:01.000 She's trying to bull through that pneumonia.
00:52:03.000 What a bold move by Hillary Clinton to lie to the American public for weeks at a time about her health and then collapse.
00:52:09.000 I mean, really, she's just so heroic.
00:52:12.000 This is the media that we're supposed to trust with giving us honest coverage about Hillary Clinton.
00:52:17.000 Okay, time for some deconstructing the culture.
00:52:20.000 Yay, deconstructing the culture.
00:52:22.000 This is everyone's favorite thing to do on a Tuesday.
00:52:25.000 So, there is a song called Sit Still, Look Pretty by Daya Daya.
00:52:29.000 I don't know how to pronounce this.
00:52:31.000 I don't care.
00:52:32.000 But Daya Daya has a song called Sit Still, Look Pretty.
00:52:35.000 Here's some of the music video.
00:52:49.000 We're good to go.
00:53:31.000 So, this is a typical poppy song, and there's a bit of irony to the actual music video, given the fact that half of the music video she's in these really low-cut dresses, and she's explaining how she doesn't want to have to wear low-cut, immodest things in order to get a guy.
00:53:48.000 But here's the lyrics, because it's hard to hear the lyrics a little bit.
00:53:52.000 She says, Could dress up to get love, but guess what?
00:53:54.000 I'm never gonna be that girl who's living in a Barbie world.
00:53:57.000 Okay, fair enough.
00:53:58.000 Could wake up in makeup and play dumb, pretending that I need a boy who's gonna treat me like a toy.
00:54:02.000 Okay, still...
00:54:04.000 Okay.
00:54:04.000 I mean, you should want a man who's going to treat you like a decent human being.
00:54:07.000 Because I know the other girlies want to wear expensive things and diamond rings, but I don't want to be the puppet that you're playing on a string.
00:54:13.000 This queen don't need a king.
00:54:14.000 And here's where we get into the dicey territory.
00:54:16.000 So modern feminism doesn't just say, they don't just say, I want to be treated like a human being.
00:54:21.000 I want to be treated for who I am.
00:54:23.000 I want to dress decently and not be treated like somebody's puppet on a string.
00:54:27.000 They say we don't need guys at all.
00:54:29.000 We don't need guys at all.
00:54:29.000 And there are guys, there are guys songs that do this, although a lot fewer of them lately.
00:54:34.000 He says, I don't know what you've been told, but this gal right here is going to rule the world.
00:54:38.000 Yeah, this is where I'm going to be, because I want to be.
00:54:40.000 No, I don't want to sit still, look pretty.
00:54:42.000 You get off on your nine to five, dream of picket fences and trophy wives, but no, I'm never going to be, because I don't want to be.
00:54:47.000 No, I don't want to sit still, look pretty.
00:54:49.000 Mr. Right could be nice for one night.
00:54:51.000 You see, it's getting progressively worse.
00:54:53.000 Mr. Right could be nice for one night, and then you want to take control.
00:54:55.000 I would rather fly solo.
00:54:57.000 Snow White did right in her life.
00:54:59.000 She had seven men to do the chores because that's not what a lady's for so apparently it's it's okay She doesn't want to be a manservant, but she would like for men to be her servants She's the only thing a boy's got to give a girl for freeze captivity and I might love me some vanilla But I'm not that sugar-sweet call me HBIC
00:55:13.000 Oh, I don't know what you've been told, but this gal's gonna rule the world, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
00:55:17.000 So the bottom line here is that it's not just that she wants to be treated with respect, which of course would be a perfectly fine message.
00:55:23.000 It would be a perfectly fine message.
00:55:24.000 It's that she thinks that any normal relationship means that she's being sexually objectified, that something terrible is happening to her.
00:55:32.000 Now maybe that's an outgrowth of a culture that has sexually objectified women, the pop culture that says that women do have to dress like all of these various
00:55:41.000 All these various pop stars do in order to sell their records.
00:55:44.000 But when she says things like, Mr. Wright could be nice for one night, but he'd want to take control, I'd rather fly solo.
00:55:49.000 If he's Mr. Wright, presumably he doesn't want to take control.
00:55:51.000 Presumably he wants to treat you with respect.
00:55:54.000 If you're actually looking for Mr. Wright, Clavin has a great line about this.
00:55:59.000 He says, you know, all these women are out there searching for Mr. Right.
00:56:01.000 Before you can find Mr. Right, you have to make sure that you're Mrs. Right.
00:56:05.000 You have to make sure that you're actually capable of being a person who's in an adult relationship.
00:56:09.000 And you're not going to do that if you think that you'd rather fly solo because all men are trying to take control of you.
00:56:14.000 There are some bad men who are trying to take control of women, for sure, and you gotta look out for them.
00:56:18.000 But the idea that female independence rests on the notion that you don't need a man ever at any point?
00:56:23.000 We all need people, okay?
00:56:24.000 I need a wife.
00:56:25.000 I needed a wife.
00:56:26.000 My wife needed a husband.
00:56:27.000 There's nothing wrong with that.
00:56:29.000 Men were created in order so that they need a wife, and women were created in order so that they need a husband.
00:56:34.000 It's
00:56:53.000 And the other is that you're in a broken relationship and you're whining about it.
00:56:56.000 Those are the only two motifs in pop music.
00:56:58.000 When's the last time you heard a pop song?
00:57:00.000 You hear country songs about love and lasting marriage and children.
00:57:03.000 You do.
00:57:03.000 You hear lots of country songs about this.
00:57:04.000 We'll have to do a Things I Like that's some country music, because there are some good country songs along these lines about what it's like to raise children and send them off to college.
00:57:11.000 You never see that in the pop world, because the pop world is directed at 17-year-old girls.
00:57:15.000 And the problem with that, 15 to 17-year-old girls, the problem with that is that these 15 to 17-year-old girls take in that message that men are bad,
00:57:23.000 Okay, so we'll be back tomorrow.
00:57:47.000 Tomorrow we'll find out more about Hillary Clinton's health, I'm sure.
00:57:50.000 And tomorrow is also Biblical Analysis Day, so we do that tomorrow, from the ridiculous to the sublime.
00:57:56.000 Plus, Thursday is Mailbag, and so it's a long week coming up, but we'll be there with you every step of the way.
00:58:01.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:58:02.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
