Summary

After the New York City bombing that wounded 29 people, including a critically wounded woman, Donald Trump immediately jumped to the conclusion that a bomb exploded in Chelsea, New York. The problem is, Hillary Clinton had already confirmed that it was a bombing. Is it any wonder nobody trusts the media when their first reaction to a terror attack in a major city is to wonder about a politician saying that a bombing is a bombing just a little bit too early? Ben Shapiro breaks it all down and explains why the media is completely out of touch with reality. He also talks about the latest attempted bombing in Elizabeth, NJ, and why Bill de Blasio is letting more criminals out onto the streets because of the NYPD s anti-terror plan. And, of course, he has a favorite part of the anti-terrorism plan that involves letting more bombs out on the streets of New York because it's a good day to be anti-hero. Ben also discusses the latest in the ongoing war on immigrants and their impact on the economy and the future of the stock market, and what it means for the economy, and the economy's long-term impact on inflation and interest rates, and how gold and precious metals are the best investments you can make in the long term and the best investment you can get in the space. Transcript

00:00:00.000 Approximately half an hour after the New York City bombing that wounded 29 people, one critically, Donald Trump deplaned and then he promptly said that a, quote, bomb went off in New York.
00:00:08.000 He added, we've got to get very tough.
00:00:10.000 It's a terrible thing what's going on in our world, what's going on in our country, but we are going to get tough and smart and vigilant and we are going to end it.
00:00:18.000 And the media lost its collective mind.
00:00:19.000 How could Trump jump to the conclusion that a trash can did not spontaneously explode and hurt 30 people on the same day somebody attempted to blow up a pipe bomb near a military base in New Jersey?
00:00:29.000 What fool, what crazy fool, would leap to such conclusions?
00:00:32.000 CNN tutted, quote, typically.
00:00:35.000 National political figures use caution when describing unfolding situation in law enforcement actions.
00:00:40.000 Like when, you know, Obama said that the officers in Cambridge, Massachusetts acted stupidly.
00:00:44.000 Keith Olbermann said, quote, Dear Donald Trump, I'm sorry the explosion in Chelsea scared you so much when everyone in Chelsea seems fine.
00:00:51.000 Hashtag you exploitative scumbag.
00:00:53.000 You know, except for the 30 people who were wounded.
00:00:55.000 Democratic consultant John Eravosis tweeted, Hey, there's a surprise.
00:00:58.000 Donald Trump decided to use the New York explosion to his political advantage.
00:01:02.000 As opposed to Democrats who say every crisis is an opportunity.
00:01:05.000 Jameel Smith of MT News tweeted,
00:01:16.000 Well, yeah.
00:01:17.000 Clare Geoffrey of Mother Jones tweeted, That narrative fell apart about two hours afterward when Hillary Clinton, while ripping Trump for supposedly jumping the gun, described the New York City bombing as a bombing herself.
00:01:34.000 Whoopsie.
00:01:36.000 Much of the media criticism, incredibly, came after Hillary had already confirmed that the bombing was a bombing.
00:01:41.000 Is it any wonder nobody trusts the media when their first reaction to a terror bombing in a major city is to wonder about a politician saying that a bombing is a bombing just a little bit too early?
00:01:50.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.

00:02:14.000 And there are folks who can help you invest in precious metals and move your 401k or IRA over to precious metals.
00:02:20.000 If you're concerned about the state of the economy and the future of inflation, concerned about the stock market, you should have part of your portfolio, for sure, in gold.
00:02:27.000 I have a little bit of my portfolio in precious metals.

00:03:03.000 Add the slash, Ben, so that they know that we sent you, and then they continue advertising with us and making the show possible, because otherwise, we have a bunch of people here who are unemployable.
00:03:11.000 And they'll be on the breadline.
00:03:11.000 So you're able to pay for them by paying our advertisers or through your tax dollars through welfare.
00:03:15.000 So those are your two choices.
00:03:17.000 Okay.
00:03:18.000 Lots going on today.
00:03:19.000 Obviously, the big news over the weekend is that there is this bombing in New York City.
00:03:23.000 And this happens in Chelsea.
00:03:25.000 30 to 29 people wounded.
00:03:27.000 One person wounded critically.
00:03:28.000 There was also an attempted pipe bombing in New Jersey.
00:03:31.000 There was also an attempted bombing this morning in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
00:03:35.000 Apparently, the robot
00:03:36.000 That was supposed to disarm the bomb, accidentally triggered the bomb, so it blew up.
00:03:39.000 Nobody was hurt.
00:03:40.000 My favorite part of this story is obviously not the bombing itself, but my favorite part is that Bill de Blasio's anti-terror plan is apparently letting more criminals out onto the streets because the way that there were two bombs planted in New York.
00:03:51.000 One went off.
00:03:52.000 The other one was found.
00:03:53.000 How was the other one found?
00:03:55.000 It was found because thieves saw a rolling backpack lying on the street and decided they liked the rolling backpack, so they opened it up.
00:04:02.000 They took out the kettle bomb.
00:04:04.000 It looked like a pressure cooker.
00:04:05.000 They took out the pressure cooker, which was the bomb.
00:04:08.000 They physically took it out of the suitcase, accidentally disconnecting it, put it in a trash bag, and then stole the suitcase.
00:04:15.000 That service to dismantle the bomb.
00:04:19.000 Well done for the thieves in New York City.
00:04:22.000 Again, this is de Blasio's plan to stop terrorism, to cut down on the police and increase the number of thieves who are going to steal the objects that have bombs in them.
00:04:29.000 Amazingly, that was actually not the only situation in which this happened today.
00:04:33.000 It happened in New Jersey, also.
00:04:34.000 The way that the police discovered this backpack filled with five IEDs,
00:04:39.000 Reportedly, was because somebody left the backpack, you know, in a public area so that it would kill people, and a thief picked it up and started to walk away with it, and then looked inside and said, oh my god, there are bombs in here, and called the cops.
00:04:52.000 So thank you to America's thieving community.
00:04:55.000 You've saved a lot of people today.
00:04:57.000 Pretty great.
00:04:57.000 Okay, so Donald Trump was under a lot of fire from the media.
00:05:00.000 I want to talk about today why Donald Trump benefits when there's a terrorist attack.
00:05:05.000 And he does.
00:05:05.000 The reason that Donald Trump benefits when there's a terrorist attack, at least ones like in San Bernardino, is because the Democrats believe all the wrong things, the media believe all the wrong things.
00:05:14.000 So Trump makes basically three arguments.
00:05:17.000 When it comes to terror attacks.
00:05:36.000 He says the Democrats don't know how to deal with this.
00:05:38.000 They refuse to even label this Islamic terrorism.
00:05:40.000 They're hesitant to say what we all know is true.
00:05:43.000 Their angles just don't work on how they're going to deal with this.
00:05:46.000 They blame all the wrong people.
00:05:47.000 So that's his second argument, is the Democrats don't know how to deal with this.
00:05:50.000 And his third argument is, when it comes to terrorism, the best solution to terrorism is to stop the terrorists from coming here in the first place.
00:05:56.000 We need to limit immigration significantly, cut it off completely, actually, from countries where we have no capacity to vet.
00:06:02.000 Places like, say, Afghanistan.
00:06:04.000 We're good to go.
00:06:26.000 As a student, I'm trying to find out, was he a Somali refugee?
00:06:30.000 Was that the story?
00:06:31.000 He was a refugee, I guess, or his dad was.
00:06:35.000 And he commits this atrocity.
00:06:36.000 He's going around a mall in Minneapolis stabbing people, killing one, wounding another seven.
00:06:41.000 And he does that while asking people if they're Muslims first.
00:06:44.000 The media covered this up for 24 hours.
00:06:46.000 They have no idea what the motive is.
00:06:47.000 No idea what the motive is.
00:06:48.000 Can you imagine if somebody went around stabbing people asking if they were Christian and shouting Jesus Christ at the top of his lungs?
00:06:53.000 How long do you think it would take for the media to reveal that the motive was Christianity, radical Christianity?
00:06:59.000 But it took them 24, 48 hours to say that this had anything to do with radical Islam.
00:07:03.000 It took them until ISIS actually claimed credit.
00:07:05.000 So, I want to start with the media angle.
00:07:07.000 So, here is the actual video of the bomb going off in Chelsea.
00:07:11.000 This happened late Saturday night.
00:07:15.000 Hi.
00:07:16.000 Oh, there were people, Kirshner.
00:07:18.000 That's really sad.
00:07:23.000 And people running away, obviously.
00:07:25.000 So, for people who can't see this and are listening to it, in the distance, you can see a big flash of light, and the bomb goes off.
00:07:30.000 And it clearly looks like a bomb.
00:07:31.000 I mean, there's video of this contemporaneous.
00:07:33.000 It clearly happened.
00:07:34.000 And then the NYPD finds a pressure cooker.
00:07:37.000 And here's a picture of the pressure cooker.
00:07:38.000 Now, you'll notice this picture of the pressure cooker.
00:07:40.000 This is from New York City Alerts.
00:07:42.000 You'll notice on the picture of the pressure cooker, there's a little symbol.
00:07:44.000 It's down near about the 5 o'clock position on this pressure cooker, if the top of it were clock.
00:07:50.000 And what you see there, it's hard to see a little bit, that is a crescent and a star, right?
00:07:54.000 That is an Islamic symbol on top of the pressure cooker.
00:07:56.000 And we know that the bombers in Boston used pressure cookers in order to try and kill people at the Boston Marathon.
00:08:04.000 We also know that Al Qaeda had told potential terrorist recruits, here's how you make a bomb, you take a pressure cooker and you put a bunch of stuff in it.
00:08:11.000 So pressure cooker bombs have sort of become the latest IED.
00:08:15.000 Now, just, I want to preface what I'm about to say with regard to the media and the Democrats with this.
00:08:21.000 We know why people do this.
00:08:22.000 We do.
00:08:22.000 We know why people do this.
00:08:23.000 It's because they follow a brand of Islam that believes that they must murder the infidel.
00:08:27.000 It's that simple.
00:08:28.000 And they're not, they're not trying to hide this.
00:08:30.000 I mean, the terrorists don't try to hide this.
00:08:32.000 It's not like they're hiding this under some sort of dog whistle.
00:08:34.000 There's no dog whistle.
00:08:36.000 So to take an example, there's a Palestinian preacher who, over the weekend, he was calling on Allah to blow up Washington, D.C.
00:08:42.000 because Allah has promised them the White House.
00:08:43.000 Here's tape of it.
00:08:46.000 Oh, America!
00:08:47.000 We will tell you about the day when Adam was raised!
00:08:52.000 Allah has promised both places to us.
00:09:00.000 Okay, so this is, so, I mean, we can stop it there, but is this, is it a great mystery why these people are doing what they're doing?
00:09:11.000 Is it a giant mystery?
00:09:12.000 I mean, he seems to understand what it is that he's talking about, and it seems the terrorists understand what they're talking about.
00:09:17.000 Okay, so we know why they do it, and they know what they do.
00:09:21.000 The reason that Trump benefits from terrorist attacks is not because terrorist attacks are inherently good for Republicans.
00:09:25.000 They're not.
00:09:26.000 The reason is because Democrats do all the wrong things whenever there's a terrorist attack.
00:09:31.000 They don't make you feel secure.
00:09:32.000 They make you feel like they don't take the problem seriously.
00:09:34.000 And the media do the same thing.
00:09:35.000 So, Trump starts—so, I think that it's important to recognize what the media was actually focused on over the weekend.
00:09:42.000 So, we'll get back to the bombing in a second.
00:09:44.000 But I think it's important to regress here for—just digress for just a second.
00:09:48.000 Donald Trump on Friday.
00:09:49.000 Thank you.
00:10:10.000 Not to mention her in the same breath, but Hillary Clinton and her campaign of 2008 started the birther controversy.
00:10:15.000 I finished it.
00:10:40.000 I finished it, you know what I mean.
00:10:43.000 President Barack Obama was born in the United States, period.
00:10:51.000 Now, we all want to get back to making America strong and great again.
00:10:59.000 Thank you.
00:11:00.000 Thank you very much.
00:11:01.000 Right, so he trolls them, right?
00:11:02.000 He does this whole routine, and the media are so mad that they were supposed to go on this press tour of the new Washington, D.C.
00:11:07.000 Trump Hotel, and they actually physically went in and deleted all the footage that they had taken of the Trump tour so that nobody could use it because they were so mad at Trump.
00:11:16.000 Over the weekend, there's this terrorist attack in New York City, and there's a terrorist attack in Minneapolis, and there's an attempted terrorist attack in New Jersey.
00:11:23.000 So what are the media focused on?
00:11:25.000 Where's the media's big focus?
00:11:27.000 On Obama's birth certificate, naturally.
00:11:28.000 So on Sunday morning, here's the coverage on Sunday morning of the news that really matters.
00:11:33.000 Here's Martha Raddatz, who's going to be moderating one of these debates, and here she is talking about the birther issue.
00:11:38.000 He said Friday that Hillary Clinton and her campaign were at fault for this birther movement as well, and you just said it yourself.
00:11:47.000 What is the proof?
00:11:48.000 Because we can't find any, and fact checkers have looked into that, that Hillary Clinton started the birther movement.
00:11:54.000 Well, I just would refer you to news reports with the McClatchy News Service and reports of people in your industry, Martha.
00:12:01.000 The reports of people in my industry say there's no proof they can find that Hillary Clinton had anything to do with it.
00:12:08.000 I understand your perspective on it.
00:12:10.000 I understand the desire of many in the national media to change the subject from Hillary Clinton's disastrous record and her dishonesty.
00:12:20.000 But we're just not going to play that game.
00:12:22.000 Okay, so you can see where the media is focused on.
00:12:24.000 It's on birtherism.
00:12:25.000 That's the real issue.
00:12:25.000 That's what everybody's worried about.
00:12:26.000 Things are blowing up in trash cans in the middle of New York City, and they're deeply, deeply worried about the birther issue.
00:12:32.000 Martha Raddatz continues to insist that the birther issue is not over.
00:12:35.000 She continues to focus on this 5C.
00:12:38.000 On Friday, for the very first time, Mr. Trump said that Barack Obama was born in the U.S.
00:12:46.000 Why did it take him so long?
00:12:48.000 Well, let me say that
00:12:51.000 The momentum in this campaign is really overwhelming and I think it's because Donald Trump's been focusing on issues the American people really care about.
00:12:59.000 He brought that issue to an end this week.
00:13:02.000 But I have to be honest with you, other than many in the national media and certainly in Hillary Clinton's campaign, as I campaign all across this country with Donald Trump.
00:13:11.000 We need to listen to Pence's full answer because we know what he's going to say here.
00:13:13.000 So, here's the point.
00:13:15.000 Forget about the Birther stuff for a second.
00:13:16.000 No one cares about that when bombs are going off in the middle of New York City.
00:13:19.000 But what are the media concerned about?
00:13:20.000 The media are deeply, deeply concerned that Donald Trump said bombing.
00:13:24.000 So here's what Donald Trump said immediately after this bombing in New York City.
00:13:28.000 Just before I got off the plane, a bomb went off in New York and nobody knows exactly what's going on.
00:13:34.000 But boy, we are living in a time
00:13:37.000 We better get very tough, folks.
00:13:39.000 We better get very, very tough.
00:13:41.000 Just happened.
00:13:43.000 So we'll find out.
00:13:44.000 But it's a terrible thing that's going on in our world and in our country.
00:13:50.000 And we are going to get tough and smart and vigilant, and we're going to end it.
00:13:54.000 We're going to end it.
00:13:55.000 So we'll see what it is.
00:13:57.000 We'll see what it is.
00:14:13.000 As opposed to, there was, for example, a gas leak in New York City that created a massive explosion a couple of weeks ago, and there was no one who was saying that it was a bombing because it was clear that it was a gas leak.
00:14:22.000 Hillary wants to knock Trump for this too, so Hillary goes after Trump.
00:14:24.000 She says it's really inappropriate for him to say this.
00:14:26.000 She just makes a little boo-boo.
00:14:28.000 I've been briefed about the bombings in New York and New Jersey and the attack in Minnesota.
00:14:36.000 Obviously, we need to do everything we can to support our first responders, also to pray for the victims.
00:14:47.000 We have to let this investigation unfold.
00:14:49.000 We've been in touch with various officials, including the mayor's office in New York, to learn what they are discovering.
00:15:02.000 She continued on by ripping into Trump, saying that it was inappropriate for Trump to comment on it.
00:15:05.000 The problem was, she let off her statement by saying, we know about the bombings in New York.
00:15:09.000 So she says, there have been these bombings in New York, but Trump said they were bombings, and that's really bad.
00:15:14.000 That's really bad.
00:15:15.000 Is that supposed to make Americans feel secure with her?
00:15:16.000 I mean, first of all, she looks half dead there.
00:15:18.000 She looks like she's an extra from the cast of Walking Dead.
00:15:20.000 She's a walking corpse.
00:15:21.000 She looks bad, right?
00:15:22.000 I mean, you don't feel secure with her.
00:15:24.000 But that's really where your focus is.
00:15:27.000 And it gets worse.
00:15:27.000 So we've already said that Trump is right about the media.
00:15:30.000 He's also right about the Democrats and how they make people feel insecure about all of this.
00:15:34.000 But to watch that, you're going to have to go to dailywire.com.

00:16:13.000 We are the number one conservative podcast.
00:16:15.000 In the country, we thank you for that.
00:16:22.000 All righty, so, continuing forth.
00:16:24.000 The Democrats clearly don't know how to respond to these terror attacks.
00:16:27.000 So, reason number one, Trump succeeds.
00:16:28.000 The media doesn't take it seriously, and everybody knows what happened here.
00:16:32.000 Everybody knows what a problem all of this was.
00:16:35.000 The second point that Trump makes, Democrats don't take any of this seriously.
00:16:38.000 So, chief idiot in the Democrat caucus, and there are lots of stupid people in the Democrat caucus, but this guy takes the cake, is Mayor Bill de Blasio, the communist mayor of New York City.
00:16:48.000 This is his first statement after the Chelsea explosion.
00:16:51.000 Injuries are significant.
00:16:54.000 At this point, we can confirm that none of those injured are likely to die.
00:16:58.000 There is no evidence at this point of a terror connection to this incident.
00:17:03.000 I want to say more broadly, there is no specific and credible threat against New York City at this point in time from any terror organization.
00:17:13.000 Okay, so does anyone feel more secure?
00:17:14.000 There's no evidence of a terror connection.
00:17:16.000 No evidence of any terror connection.
00:17:18.000 He actually said, there's no evidence of terror.
00:17:20.000 This was an intentional incident.
00:17:22.000 So we now have the war on intentional incidents, which is very important, because intentional incidents threaten us all.
00:17:29.000 Then you have President Obama.
00:17:30.000 President Obama stays out of the limelight for more than 24 hours.
00:17:33.000 I mean, this stuff happens Saturday night.
00:17:34.000 He doesn't say anything about it.
00:17:35.000 He makes a couple of jokes about ISIS earlier in the day, and then there's a bombing, and then he says nothing.
00:17:40.000 Nothing, from Saturday night all the way until this morning.
00:17:42.000 Finally, he says something, and here's what President Obama says.
00:17:46.000 Law enforcement is asking for the help of the community.
00:17:49.000 And so, to everybody in this region, I want to repeat what we've said before.
00:17:55.000 If you see something suspicious, then you need to say something.
00:17:58.000 Contact local law enforcement.
00:18:01.000 In the meantime, I would ask that the press try to refrain from getting out ahead of the investigation.
00:18:10.000 We're good to go.
00:18:28.000 False reports or incomplete information is out there.
00:18:31.000 So try to, as much as possible, stick to what our investigators say.
00:18:47.000 It's a great book, and the idea in Catch-22 is just what you think it is colloquially.
00:18:55.000 The idea in Catch-22 is that no matter what you do, you can't escape the situation.
00:19:00.000 So in the book Catch-22, what you have is a pilot who doesn't want to fly any more missions in World War II, and because he doesn't want to fly any more missions in World War II, he can claim to be crazy, but the only way that he can claim to be crazy is by claiming that he wants to fly more missions, and then they let him fly more missions because he's crazy.
00:19:14.000 But if he doesn't want to fly any more missions, that means he's sane, so they make him fly more missions.
00:19:17.000 So no matter what he does, he has to fly more missions in World War II.
00:19:20.000 President Obama, it's the same thing with, if you see something, say something.
00:19:23.000 So you hear President Obama say things like, if you see something, say something.
00:19:27.000 Except, when you see something about a Muslim and you say something, and then the entire media and President Obama come down on you.
00:19:33.000 So today, there's a headline from the New York Post.
00:19:35.000 There's a real headline from the New York Post, okay?
00:19:38.000 Photographer who found second Chelsea bomb thought device was a science project.
00:19:43.000 Quote, I thought it was a kid's science experiment with wires coming out of the pressure cooker.
00:19:47.000 Every which way.
00:19:48.000 Now, I'm old enough to remember when a year and a half ago, there was a young boy named Ahmed.
00:19:54.000 It turns out, by the way, the bomber in this case is also named Ahmed.
00:19:56.000 But in this case, there's a young boy named Ahmed in a small town in Texas.
00:20:00.000 And young Ahmed went to school with a device that looked exactly like a bomb and said that he had invented a clock.
00:20:06.000 Which he hadn't.
00:20:07.000 If he wanted to invent a clock, he should have gone back about 6,000 years and put a stick in the ground and called it a sundial.
00:20:11.000 He said he invented a clock.
00:20:13.000 And they pulled him out of class, and they said, this thing looks like a bomb.
00:20:16.000 And President Obama said, nice clock, Ahmed.
00:20:19.000 Do you want to come to the White House?
00:20:21.000 Well, I mean, it's a good thing that he didn't say to the kettle bombers, nice kettle bomb project, Ahmed.
00:20:26.000 Would you like to come to the White House?
00:20:27.000 Because then there might be some dead people at the White House.
00:20:30.000 Okay, this catch-22 is really horrifying.
00:20:32.000 This if-you-see-something-say-something routine, it doesn't work if when you see something and you say something, then you're ripped as being a racist Islamophobe who hates brown people and can't trust Muslims.
00:20:43.000 And here's the thing that's amazing about this.
00:20:45.000 There's now a report from the UK Daily Mail that the bomber in this case, this Ahmed Rahman guy, Rahami, Ahmed Rahami, Ahmed Rahami sued his local police department in New Jersey for, wait for it, Islamophobia a couple of years ago in 2011.
00:21:00.000 He sued the police department saying they were biased against Muslims.
00:21:02.000 It also turns out he's a terrorist.
00:21:04.000 So the way this works is if they call Islamophob- Honestly, like, the best thing that you can do if you're a terrorist now is you should actually design a bomb that looks like a clock.
00:21:12.000 And then you should put it out there, and then if it's disarmed, you just say it was Islamophobia, it was a clock in the first place, and if it's not disarmed, yay, you bombed somebody.
00:21:19.000 It's really incredible stuff.
00:21:20.000 I mean, does that make you feel more secure if you see something say something, but if you say the wrong thing, then President Obama will label you a racist on national TV?
00:21:27.000 That's not all the stupidity out of Obama.
00:21:29.000 President Obama also said, again, ISIL is a failed cause.
00:21:33.000 We will continue to lead the global coalition in the fight to destroy ISIL, which is instigating a lot of people over the internet to carry out attacks.
00:21:48.000 We are going to continue to go after them.
00:21:50.000 We're going to take out their leaders.
00:21:51.000 We're going to take out their infrastructure.
00:21:54.000 They are continuing to lose ground in Iraq
00:21:57.000 And in Syria, and later today, I'll be meeting with Prime Minister Abadi of Iraq to discuss the need to sustain that momentum.
00:22:04.000 As we take away more of their territory, it exposes ISIL as the failed cause that it is, and it helps to undermine their ideology, which over time will make it harder.
00:22:15.000 Okay.
00:22:17.000 The CIA says, by the way, that ISIS has not diminished in its capacity to do terrorism outside of its territory.
00:22:24.000 President Obama can call ISIS a failed cause all he wants, but they're setting off bombs in major American cities.
00:22:29.000 Again, this does not inspire confidence, so when Trump says the Democrats don't know what they're doing, you get the feeling that he's right.
00:22:35.000 Josh Earnest at the White House is also inspiring a fair bit of discontent this morning.
00:22:39.000 Josh Earnest, he's on CNN, and wait until you hear what he says the battle with ISIS is.
00:22:43.000 This is truly amazing.
00:22:44.000 We are, when it comes to ISIL, we are in a fight, a narrative fight with them, a narrative battle.
00:22:50.000 And what ISIL wants to do is they want to project that they are an organization that is representing Islam in a fight and a war against the West and a war against the United States.
00:22:59.000 That is a bankrupt, false narrative.
00:23:01.000 It's a mythology.
00:23:03.000 And we have made progress in debunking that mythology.
00:23:19.000 So for all the people, it's so funny.
00:23:21.000 Chris Hayes put out one of the dumbest tweets in the world this morning.
00:23:25.000 He said, we're very, very lucky that Ahmad Rahami decided not to use a gun.
00:23:29.000 He decided instead to use bombs.
00:23:31.000 And the fellow in Minneapolis, the terrorist in Minneapolis, decided to use knives.
00:23:36.000 Well, we're also very lucky that the—we're very, very lucky that the people who decided to face down these terrorists decided to do so not with narratives, but with actual guns, because that's how all of these terrorists were taken.
00:23:46.000 And the one in Minneapolis was taken down by an off-duty cop who happened to be carrying.
00:23:50.000 He wasn't even on duty.
00:23:51.000 In any case, it's pretty obvious the left doesn't know how to deal with this.
00:23:54.000 The Minneapolis mayor released a statement that's just ridiculous.
00:23:57.000 The statement says this.
00:23:59.000 Love is bigger than hate.
00:24:01.000 Oh my god.
00:24:01.000 This is Betsy Hodges, the mayor of Minneapolis.
00:24:03.000 Love is bigger than hate.
00:24:06.000 And whenever people say stupid things like this, I just think to myself, if love were bigger than hate, there would be no Holocaust.
00:24:10.000 Love is bigger than hate.
00:24:11.000 It's horrifying to imagine the attack in St.
00:24:13.000 Cloud last night.
00:24:14.000 I am praying for the victims and their families and I'm grateful it was not worse.
00:24:17.000 I'm also grateful for our first responders who once again put their own safety aside in an uncertain and dangerous situation in order to keep others safe.
00:24:25.000 At this difficult moment, I urge every Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis- Minneapolis-
00:24:43.000 So just the whole thing is about Islamophobia.
00:24:46.000 That's what they're deeply worried about.
00:24:47.000 People get stabbed in the middle of Minnesota for no reason and we're deeply worried not about the philosophy that drove it.
00:24:52.000 We're worried about people who share a common religion with the people who did this being insulted and people treating them nastily.
00:25:00.000 Now nobody should treat Muslims badly because there are some Muslims who do bad things.
00:25:04.000 But if we keep pretending that there's no connection whatsoever between Islam and people committing terrorist acts all over the world, then we're not paying attention.
00:25:12.000 We're not paying attention to the need for moderation within the Islamic community, that's for sure.
00:25:16.000 That's not even the worst of the morning.
00:25:18.000 The worst of the morning for Democrats was Hillary.
00:25:19.000 Hillary blamed Donald Trump for the attacks in New York.
00:25:22.000 Really, it's Donald Trump's fault that these people decided to engage in terrorist attacks in the middle of New York City.
00:25:28.000 Donald Trump's comments have been used online for recruitment of terrorists.
00:25:35.000 We've heard that from former CIA director Michael Hayden, who made it a very clear point when he said Donald Trump is being used as a recruiting sergeant for the terrorists.
00:25:49.000 We also know from the former head of our counterterrorism center, Matt Olson, that the kinds of rhetoric and language that Mr. Trump has used is giving aid and comfort to our adversaries.
00:26:05.000 Okay, so he's giving aid and comfort.
00:26:06.000 First of all, note the language.
00:26:08.000 Aid and comfort is the legal language of treason.
00:26:11.000 Treason is punishable by death.
00:26:13.000 So she's basically saying Donald Trump should die because he's giving aid and comfort to the enemy by saying things like ISIS ought to be destroyed and we have a problem with radical Islam and we are going to have to prevent Muslims from entering the country in massive numbers from areas where we don't know.
00:26:27.000 Now, listen, I was against a lot of the things Donald Trump said early in this campaign with regard to a blanket ban on Muslims coming into the country, because, again, I don't think that's possible, and I also think that that's kind of silly.
00:26:36.000 But the idea that ISIS is waiting for Donald Trump to say things to recruit is asinine.
00:26:42.000 It's asinine.
00:26:43.000 I guarantee you more people are being recruited by ISIS through the opportunity to fight back against the people who are bombing them, like Hillary and Obama, that are being recruited by Trump's rhetoric.
00:26:53.000 It's just not the way this works.
00:26:54.000 The first time Hillary said this, there was no evidence that ISIS had done any of this.
00:26:57.000 Then Hillary said it, and all of a sudden ISIS latched onto it, and they started using Trump's comments as sort of impetus in their recruitment materials.
00:27:04.000 We've looked—I mean, we're one of the few shows—we actually looked at an ISIS recruitment video, and we analyzed what they are actually attempting to do to recruit people.
00:27:11.000 The way that they recruit people is by saying they've created this massive Islamic caliphate that's bigger than Great Britain, and it's a wonderful, wonderful place to be, and it's a place where you're going to be guaranteed heaven if you live there.
00:27:20.000 It's these big cities, and everything's great.
00:27:23.000 And they're standing up for truth, justice, and the Islamic way.
00:27:26.000 There was no mention of Trump.
00:27:27.000 I mean, we played an ISIS recruitment video on the show just to show people what it is that we're up against.
00:27:31.000 But Hillary's blaming Trump.
00:27:32.000 So you've got de Blasio blaming intentional incidents.
00:27:36.000 You've got Obama saying that ISIL is on the run.
00:27:39.000 And you've got Hillary Clinton blaming Trump for ISIS doing its recruitment.
00:27:43.000 Is it any wonder that when Trump says these people don't take it seriously and don't know what they're doing, he's exactly right?
00:27:48.000 So, with that said, it's time for a little bit of Good Trump, Bad Trump, theme brought to you by Brandon Snipes.
00:27:54.000 Good Trump, Bad Trump, which one will we get today?
00:28:00.000 Okay, so we start with bad Trump.
00:28:02.000 So there's only a little bit of bad Trump today.
00:28:04.000 The part of Trump that's so silly is that there's part of Trump, unfortunately, that's sort of third grade, and that is that he says it's a bombing, and then he goes out there and he brags about how he was the first one to say that it was a bombing.
00:28:18.000 So here's Donald Trump taking credit for predicting that it was a bombing, just like every other person in America with half a brain outside the media.
00:28:25.000 It is so unfair.
00:28:26.000 They call it the Clinton News Network.
00:28:28.000 If you saw her in the back of the plane, and she used the words bombs also, by the way, that's true.
00:28:33.000 I heard, I didn't see it, but I heard I was criticized for calling it correctly.
00:28:37.000 What I said was exactly correct.
00:28:39.000 I should be a newscaster because I called it before the news.
00:28:42.000 Okay, this kind of stuff is so silly.
00:28:44.000 There's no reason for Trump to do this.
00:28:46.000 Who cares whether you called it early?
00:28:47.000 He's correct, by the way, to slam the media and say, you don't get to rip me for being right on this.
00:28:52.000 But the idea that he should have been a newscaster when he's revealing information that apparently wasn't confirmed yet.
00:28:57.000 But most of Trump today is good Trump.
00:28:59.000 I mean, most of Trump today really is good Trump.
00:29:02.000 So here is Donald Trump talking about the future possibility of terror attacks.
00:29:06.000 I think this is something that maybe we'll get
00:29:09.000 You know, it will happen perhaps more and more all over the country.
00:29:12.000 What do you mean?
00:29:12.000 More terror strikes?
00:29:13.000 Yeah, because we've been weak.
00:29:15.000 Our country's been weak.
00:29:16.000 We're letting people in by the thousands and tens of thousands.
00:29:19.000 I've been saying you got to stop it.
00:29:21.000 You got to... I mean, just last week, Obama said more than 100,000 people are going to come in from Syria.
00:29:26.000 He's letting more people in. 100,000.
00:29:29.000 Hillary Clinton wants to increase what he's let in.
00:29:32.000 He's let in thousands and thousands of people.
00:29:34.000 They don't know.
00:29:34.000 They can't be properly vetted.
00:29:36.000 There's no way.
00:29:37.000 I spoke to law enforcement, the best people in law enforcement.
00:29:40.000 They say there is no way of vetting these people.
00:29:42.000 So he let in over 100,000 additional people.
00:29:46.000 And now Hillary Clinton is raising it by 550%.
00:29:49.000 And this has been going on for a long time.
00:29:54.000 Thousands of people are pouring into our country.
00:29:56.000 We have no idea what we're doing.
00:29:58.000 Our leaders are, I don't even say weak, I say stupid.
00:30:03.000 Okay, and he's exactly right.
00:30:05.000 Everything that he just said is right.
00:30:06.000 Now, Trump's response to this has been, we knocked the hell out of them.
00:30:08.000 I want to point out, obviously, this is not a detailed response to how you take out ISIS, but people are not voting on detailed responses anymore.
00:30:14.000 I've given up on the idea this is going to be a substantive election, because obviously it isn't.
00:30:18.000 It's going to be an attitudinal election.
00:30:20.000 People are going to vote based on attitude.
00:30:22.000 The attitude from Trump is, there are bad guys out there,
00:30:26.000 They are radical Muslims, and we need to bomb the hell out of them.
00:30:29.000 We need to knock the hell out of them.
00:30:30.000 And Hillary's idea is, well, it's kind of Trump's fault for instigating.
00:30:33.000 He really should stop all this.
00:30:35.000 We need to worry about Islamophobia.
00:30:37.000 We're already taking kind of half measures that are working.
00:30:40.000 People get the attitude.
00:30:41.000 One of them is gung-ho to go kill terrorists, and the other one is really hesitant and afraid there's going to be backlash.
00:30:46.000 And most people are going to side with Trump on this one.
00:30:49.000 And you can see that his entire team is on the same page.
00:30:51.000 Again, his team doing a good job on this.
00:30:53.000 Here's General Michael Flynn talking about political correctness getting a lot of people killing.
00:30:57.000 Political correctness kills.
00:31:00.000 It causes, it will cause death.
00:31:03.000 And we can't have that.
00:31:04.000 You don't have a lot of people yelling Jesus Christ, putting a knife in somebody's body, or putting a knife in somebody's head.
00:31:12.000 I mean, this is a different enemy.
00:31:14.000 It's an enemy that we have not, frankly, understood in a couple of administrations, and we definitely don't understand them right now.
00:31:21.000 Okay, and he's exactly right, and he's not the only one saying that today.
00:31:23.000 Chris Christie says it's easy to call this terrorism.
00:31:26.000 It's easy to forget because Chris Christie has become reek to the Roos Bolton, to the Ramsey Bolton of
00:31:37.000 Donald Trump, but he still is the governor of New Jersey.
00:31:39.000 I mean, in his day job, when he's not shining Donald Trump's shoes, Chris Christie's still the governor of New Jersey.
00:31:44.000 And he says, of course, this is terrorism.
00:31:45.000 So as I said, we have some promising leads.
00:31:48.000 We're working with the FBI and our state police to follow them.
00:31:51.000 But obviously, if you look at a number of these incidents, you can call them whatever you want.
00:31:56.000 They are terrorism, though.
00:31:57.000 There's no doubt about that.
00:31:59.000 They're terrorism.
00:31:59.000 Now, who's responsible is something else.
00:32:01.000 And what the motive was is something else that hopefully we're going to find out in the days ahead.
00:32:06.000 Okay.
00:32:07.000 And then finally, Rudy Giuliani says, of course, this was an act of terrorism as well.
00:32:12.000 To say it's a terrorist act is perfectly accurate.
00:32:15.000 I mean, this could be domestic terrorism.
00:32:18.000 This could be some form of lunatic terrorism.
00:32:21.000 But a bomb
00:32:22.000 Do I seem
00:32:38.000 We need to stop it there, but what seems like a more serious take on terrorism?
00:32:41.000 The one that you're seeing now or the one that you saw five minutes ago from the various Democrats trying to blame Trump and trying to say it's not terrorism and trying to say if you see something, say something, unless it's about a Muslim, in which case, shut up, but if there's a bombing, it's your fault, right?
00:32:53.000 If you're just watching this as a layperson, it's obvious which side has its head on straight with regard to terrorism, which means that Hillary has some problems.
00:33:01.000 So the latest polls again show this race extraordinarily close.
00:33:05.000 There's a new poll out of Florida that shows Hillary, I think, up one point in Florida.
00:33:08.000 She's up big in Pennsylvania.
00:33:10.000 Right now, Trump has to win.
00:33:12.000 If he wins Florida, Ohio, Iowa, and North Carolina.
00:33:15.000 And right now, he's leading in Ohio.
00:33:17.000 He's leading heavily in Iowa.
00:33:19.000 He's leading by a little bit in North Carolina, but that one could go either way.
00:33:21.000 And Florida's also a dead heat.
00:33:22.000 So those two are a little bit more doubtful.
00:33:24.000 He's probably going to win Nevada because he has Nevada connections through the Trump casinos over there.
00:33:28.000 If he wins those states, if he wins those five states, he is one state away from being President of the United States.
00:33:34.000 That's how close this election is right now.
00:33:36.000 If Donald Trump wins one extra state, if he wins Colorado, or Wisconsin, or Michigan, or Pennsylvania, or New Hampshire, if he wins one of those, he is President of the United States right now.
00:33:46.000 And so there's desperation setting in among the Democrats because it turns out they insisted that they must have Hillary at all costs.
00:33:51.000 Hillary must be the candidate at all costs.
00:33:54.000 And it turns out she's the worst candidate in American history.
00:33:56.000 I mean, she almost lost to a 74-year-old geriatric socialist loon bag, and now she's busy losing to a giant orange.
00:34:03.000 I mean, she's awful at this.
00:34:04.000 She's legitimately awful at this.
00:34:06.000 And so Barack Obama is going out there pleading with black people, you need to go out and you need to show up for Hillary in the same way you showed up for me.
00:34:13.000 And there is one candidate who will advance those things.
00:34:18.000 And there is another candidate whose defining principle, the central theme,
00:34:25.000 Of his candidacy, his opposition to all that we've done.
00:34:35.000 There's no such thing as a vote that doesn't matter.
00:34:38.000 It all matters.
00:34:41.000 And after we have achieved historic turnout in 2008 and 2012, especially in the African-American community, I will consider it a personal insult, an insult to my legacy, if this community lets down its guard and fails to activate itself in this election.
00:34:58.000 You want to give me a good send-off?
00:35:00.000 Go vote!
00:35:01.000 Make it about him.
00:35:02.000 Look how angry he is.
00:35:03.000 And I'm going to be working as hard as I can these next seven weeks to make sure folks do.
00:35:08.000 I mean, it's okay for him to say that because you're allowed to boss black people around, right?
00:35:13.000 Oh, no, actually, it's not okay for him to say black people need to show up to the polls simply because I'm a black guy and you backed me so you should go back Hillary Clinton.
00:35:19.000 And he says he's going to be especially disappointed with black people if they don't vote for Hillary Clinton.
00:35:23.000 Why?
00:35:23.000 Because she's been such a boon to the black community, exactly?
00:35:26.000 I mean, they're getting desperate out there.
00:35:27.000 They're getting desperate.
00:35:28.000 If they're Democrats, they're getting very, very desperate.
00:35:31.000 OK, time for some things I like and then time for some things I hate.
00:35:34.000 So things I like, we're going to try and do some classic comedies you may not have heard of.
00:35:37.000 One of my favorites, nobody's ever heard of this film, but it's a great film with Ronald Coleman and Celeste Holm called Champagne for Caesar.
00:35:43.000 It's all about a game show.
00:35:44.000 It was produced in 1950 when game shows were a big thing.
00:35:47.000 It's all about this quiz show and Ronald Coleman is a character who is just, he knows everything.
00:35:53.000 They call him Mr. Encyclopedia and he knows everything.
00:35:55.000 He goes on this game show and the company that's doing the game show, which is run by a hilarious Vincent Price, is trying to figure out desperately how do we stop him from winning all the money we own because he knows all of the answers on this game show.
00:36:16.000 Please place the pawn in the slot.
00:36:20.000 On the desk.
00:36:23.000 Thank you.
00:36:23.000 And make yourself comfortable.
00:37:04.000 Good afternoon.
00:37:06.000 It's a nice place you...
00:37:31.000 Good afternoon, as I was saying to the other gentlemen.
00:37:43.000 It's primarily a physical comedy.
00:37:44.000 It's actually, the part of the film that's very funny is all the stuff they have to do with the quiz show.
00:37:50.000 Vincent Price is great.
00:37:53.000 So we don't have to watch the whole thing, but you can actually get this I believe on, I don't know if it's available on Netflix, I think it's on YouTube as well, but it's, the movie is kind of an unknown gem and it's really intellectual and funny.
00:38:04.000 Okay, other things I like.
00:38:06.000 Jebberoo showed up at the Emmys, I don't know if you watched the Emmys, but Jeb McPhase, Jeb Bush, exclamation point.
00:38:13.000 He showed up at the Emmys, and he actually was very funny.
00:38:15.000 They did a skit with Kimmel, and here it is.
00:38:17.000 There's plenty of room up front.
00:38:19.000 Oh, thank you.
00:38:21.000 You're a lifesaver.
00:38:22.000 Thank you.
00:38:24.000 Hey, you're driving?
00:38:25.000 Yeah, I'm in between jobs right now.
00:38:27.000 You know you can make $12 an hour driving for Uber?
00:38:31.000 I did not know that, but that's great.
00:38:33.000 I have to get downtown to the Emmys.
00:38:34.000 Are you nominated?
00:38:36.000 I am, yeah.
00:38:37.000 Wow.
00:38:38.000 What's that like?
00:38:40.000 It's nice.
00:38:40.000 It's nice.
00:38:42.000 You think you can win?
00:38:42.000 Well, there's a lot of competition, and, uh, probably not.
00:38:47.000 Well, here's what I know.
00:38:48.000 If you run a positive campaign, the voters ultimately will make the right choice.
00:38:52.000 You know, it's funny you say that.
00:38:53.000 My psychic... Jimmy, that was a joke.
00:38:56.000 Get out of the car.
00:39:01.000 And shave that wig off your face, you godless Hollywood hippie.
00:39:05.000 Jim, exclamation point.
00:39:13.000 So good for Jeb.
00:39:13.000 Look at that.
00:39:14.000 He's showing a little bit of personality.
00:39:15.000 Okay, time for some things that I hate.
00:39:17.000 Okay, I'm going to start with our good friend Reince Priebus of the Republican National Committee.
00:39:22.000 Let's start with Reince.
00:39:23.000 So, Reince of the Republican National Committee.
00:39:25.000 I'm never going to get used to the fact that there's a graphic there, guys.
00:39:27.000 Just get over it.
00:39:28.000 So, Reince Priebus, who I called Chris Christie Reek earlier, and that was unfair to Reince Priebus.
00:39:35.000 So, Reince Priebus.
00:39:37.000 Reince Priebus, who may have actually been physically castrated by Donald Trump in the midst of the primary season, he went on national TV yesterday and he threatened any candidate, he means John Kasich and Ted Cruz, who's not getting behind Donald Trump, he's saying we're going to try and create incentives for them not to run in future races.
00:39:55.000 Now, listen, I think that John Kasich is not going to run again, and I don't think that Ted Cruz, I think he faces a real uphill battle in a future White House run, but what Reince Priebus says here is so egregiously gross, and I'll explain why in a second.
00:40:07.000 But look, people who agreed to support the nominee that took part in our process.
00:40:12.000 They used tools from the RNC.
00:40:15.000 They agreed to support the nominee that took part in our process.
00:40:17.000 We're a private party.
00:40:18.000 We're not a public entity.
00:40:21.000 Those people need to get on board.
00:40:24.000 And if they're thinking they're going to run again someday, you know, I think that we're going to evaluate the process of the nomination process, and I don't think it's going to be that easy for them.
00:40:33.000 Would the party itself penalize somebody who does not make good on the pledge that they made to support the party's nomination?
00:40:39.000 I think these are things that our party is going to look at in the process.
00:40:43.000 And I think that people who gave us their word
00:40:47.000 used information from the RNC should be on board.
00:40:51.000 I mean, you want to take part in the process, sure.
00:40:53.000 Governor John Kasich.
00:40:53.000 So if he wants to run again, it seems like he might want to, he might be out of luck as far as the RNC goes.
00:40:58.000 Well, look, people in our party are talking about what we're going to do about this.
00:41:03.000 I mean, there's a ballot access issue in South Carolina.
00:41:06.000 In order to be on the ballot in South Carolina, you actually have to pledge your support to the nominee, no matter who that person is.
00:41:12.000 So what's the penalty for that?
00:41:13.000 It's not a threat.
00:41:15.000 It's just a question that
00:41:17.000 We have a process in place and if a private entity puts forward a process and has agreement with the participants in that process and those participants
00:41:27.000 Don't follow through with the promises that they made in that process.
00:41:31.000 What should a private party do about that if those same people come around in four or eight years?
00:41:36.000 And you can see him right after this, he was available right after this, actually giving a sponge bath to Donald Trump and telling him how much he loved him and how he never wanted to go back with the Ironborn.
00:41:47.000 So Ryan's preface here, there are a couple of things that he says that are really outrageous here.
00:41:51.000 Number one, when he says everybody sort of pledged their allegiance.
00:41:55.000 Donald Trump was the only person on the stage, if you recall all the way back to the first debate, I'm old enough to remember it and so are you.
00:42:00.000 Unless you're my baby.
00:42:02.000 If you recall all the way back to the first debate, Donald Trump was the only person on stage not to raise his hand when asked if he pledged to support any of the other candidates on the stage.
00:42:11.000 I said at the time, I think the pledge is idiotic.
00:42:12.000 I don't think that you should have to pledge allegiance to a group of other people, any one of whom could be unacceptable for office.
00:42:18.000 I actually agreed with Trump at the time.
00:42:20.000 I'm one of the few ideologically consistent people on this.
00:42:22.000 I don't believe in pledges of loyalty to people.
00:42:25.000 I believe in pledges of loyalty to ideas.
00:42:27.000 Okay, but Ryan says, he says, if you don't take the pledge, then we're gonna punish you.
00:42:31.000 Then, Donald Trump spent the entirety of the primary campaign, the entire time, floating rumors that if he didn't take the nomination, he was going to run third party.
00:42:38.000 Remember, this was the entire primary campaign.
00:42:40.000 One of the threats was, if he doesn't win, he'll take half of his support, he'll go run third party, he'll prevent anybody from being able to take the presidency away from Hillary Clinton.
00:42:49.000 In March, he was asked again, do you pledge to support Ted Cruz or John Kasich if they get the nomination?
00:42:54.000 And he said no.
00:42:55.000 He said no.
00:42:56.000 But Ryan's previous had nothing to say about it at the time.
00:42:58.000 They didn't remove any of Donald Trump's delegates from him in South Carolina.
00:43:02.000 They didn't touch him.
00:43:03.000 They didn't touch him.
00:43:04.000 But now, now that it's all over, now, Rick is going to beat everybody into line.
00:43:07.000 Everybody must fall in behind Ramsey.
00:43:09.000 And if he doesn't, if you don't fall in behind the bastard of Winterfeld, then everybody has to pay the price.
00:43:15.000 This sort of stuff is really gross.
00:43:18.000 I think it's also important to point out here one other thing.
00:43:20.000 I remember, I'm old enough to remember, too, when Trump was anti-establishment.
00:43:23.000 This is the head of the RNC, the king of the establishment, telling you that if you don't back Donald Trump, then he will punish you.
00:43:30.000 He will punish you.
00:43:32.000 Okay?
00:43:33.000 Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Reince Priebus, those would be the three top names in the establishment corridors, right?
00:43:38.000 Maybe John Boehner.
00:43:40.000 All four of them support Donald Trump.
00:43:42.000 And now they're threatening people if they don't support Donald Trump, or at least Reince Priebus is, in his position as head of the RNC.
00:43:49.000 I don't
00:44:04.000 Because I have a different risk calculation than you do.
00:44:06.000 But it's actually important that there be some people who say, I'm not going to support the guy who rips on Mexican judges.
00:44:12.000 I'm not going to support the guy who rips on war heroes.
00:44:14.000 I'm not going to support the guy who says that a fellow candidate's father murdered JFK and insulted the looks of his fellow candidate's wife.
00:44:21.000 I'm not going to support the guy who does all of the terrible things and says all the terrible things that Donald Trump has, because four years from now, they're just going to slap you at Donald Trump.
00:44:30.000 Reince Priebus is demanding that every other candidate for the future
00:44:34.000 Okay, well, if a candidate doesn't feel like lashing himself to Donald Trump's mask, isn't that his prerogative?
00:44:43.000 I thought we were a party full of free-thinking individuals, but apparently everyone has to be beaten into place by Reince Priebus and his pathetic RNC, which was too weak to actually stop this terrible campaign from rolling forward.
00:44:56.000 Okay, final things that I hate.
00:44:59.000 So, I already showed you something good from the Emmys.
00:45:00.000 There's plenty that was annoying from the Emmys, including Jimmy Kimmel smacking Melania Trump for no apparent reason.
00:45:07.000 Television can also tear us apart.
00:45:09.000 I mean, if it wasn't for television, would Donald Trump be running for president?
00:45:13.000 No.
00:45:15.000 He would be at home right now, quietly rubbing up against his wife malaria while she pretends to be asleep.
00:45:23.000 Many have asked who is to blame for Donald Trump, the Donald Trump phenomenon, and I'll tell you who, because he's sitting right there.
00:45:33.000 That's right.
00:45:34.000 That guy.
00:45:36.000 Mark Burnett, the man who brought us Celebrity Apprentice.
00:45:40.000 Thanks to Mark Burnett,
00:45:42.000 We don't have to watch reality shows anymore because we're living in one.
00:45:46.000 Thank you, Mark.
00:45:47.000 Thank you for coming all the way from England to tear us all apart with your intricate plot.
00:45:52.000 It worked.
00:45:53.000 Okay, so there's truth behind the idea that reality TV created Trump, but you don't see any of this sort of attention being lavished on Hillary Clinton, right?
00:46:00.000 You don't see what would Hillary be doing if it weren't for the media making a heroine out of her for the last 20 years of her life, even though she's one of the worst politicians in American history and an evil, corrupt terrorden.
00:46:11.000 Right?
00:46:11.000 You just don't see that sort of thing from Hollywood.
00:46:13.000 So Kimmel will rip on Trump, I don't think totally unfairly.
00:46:15.000 I think it is unfair, by the way, to call Melania malaria.
00:46:18.000 I mean, that's the kind of joke that is just, it's a cheap laugh.
00:46:22.000 It's a cheap laugh.
00:46:23.000 It's just, it's silly.
00:46:24.000 But that wasn't the end of the slaps at Trump.
00:46:27.000 The director of Transparent, which is this Amazon series about why transgenderism is the greatest thing since Jesus, the director of Transparent,
00:46:36.000 at the Emmys, got up and said, you guessed it, Donald Trump is Hitler!
00:46:41.000 So Jews were otherized in Nazi Germany to gain political power for Hitler and right now Donald Trump is doing the same thing.
00:46:49.000 He's otherizing people.
00:46:50.000 He calls women pigs if they don't look like beauty pageant contestants.
00:46:54.000 He blames Muslims and Mexicans for our problems.
00:46:57.000 He makes fun of disabled people.
00:46:59.000 This is otherizing with a capital O.
00:47:02.000 It has been used in our history before to start and win wars.
00:47:07.000 And he needs to be called out at every chance he gets for being one of the most dangerous monsters to ever approach our lifetimes.
00:47:16.000 He's a complete dangerous monster and any moment that I have to call Trump out for being an inheritor to Hitler, I will.
00:47:24.000 He's an inheritor to Hitler.
00:47:27.000 Don't understate your case there, lady.
00:47:29.000 I was really worried that you were going to make a nuanced argument against Donald Trump.
00:47:34.000 Trump is Hitler is not exactly the strongest approach.
00:47:38.000 It really isn't.
00:47:39.000 The idea that Donald Trump is going to round up and murder all the Muslims, round up and murder all the gays, all this stuff.
00:47:45.000 Honestly, what kills me is that they say this kind of stuff about Mitt Romney.
00:47:48.000 They say it about everybody.
00:47:50.000 The otherizing.
00:47:50.000 Okay, the otherizing people.
00:47:53.000 The problem for Hitler was not that he was otherizing people, it was that he was murdering them, right?
00:47:57.000 There is a slight difference between Donald Trump saying, we have a problem importing Syrian refugees we can't vet, and saying, let's take all the Syrian refugees, stick them in camps, and then gas them.
00:48:07.000 This sort of stuff is so silly, it's so over the top, it's so ridiculous.
00:48:11.000 And it's insulting to the intelligence.
00:48:13.000 Also, it's insulting to the intelligence to hear a woman who can't put together a phrase beyond dangerous monster and put together a complete sentence try to lecture us all on how politics is supposed to work.
00:48:22.000 So that's really ridiculous.
00:48:24.000 That wasn't the end of it.
00:48:26.000 There was also, at the Emmy Awards, people saying we have to topple the patriarchy, because clearly the patriarchy is at work.
00:48:31.000 When this lady is winning Emmys and then shouting about Donald Trump, clearly the patriarchy is at work.
00:48:35.000 And then there are people who are stumping for Hillary Clinton openly.
00:48:47.000 We need to stop violence against transgender women and topple the patriarchy!
00:48:53.000 Topple the patriarchy!
00:48:56.000 Yay, Patton Oswalt!
00:48:57.000 Voice of Ratatouille guy.
00:48:59.000 Yeah, okay, so there's... Topple the patriarchy.
00:49:01.000 Yeah, that's that.
00:49:02.000 Clearly the patriarchy is at full work.
00:49:05.000 If the patriarchy were at full work, she'd be wearing something that didn't look like she bought it off the shelf at Buffalo Exchange and then wore it to the Emmys.
00:49:12.000 I also love the Obama out, Hillary in, and everybody cheering.
00:49:16.000 Yes, the regime changes to the next available member of the regime.
00:49:20.000 Yay!
00:49:21.000 And we all cheer wildly.
00:49:22.000 If you think that Hollywood hasn't had a role in the shaping of our politics, it has.
00:49:26.000 It's had a major role in the shaping of our politics, and it has not been good on either side with regard to Donald Trump, and it certainly hasn't been good for Hillary Clinton.
00:49:34.000 I love that Trump is Hitler, but Hillary must be appointed.
00:49:38.000 She must be appointed by popular fiat.
00:49:40.000 By the people at the Emmys, who all live within a 10-mile radius of extraordinary wealth.
00:49:46.000 OK, so we have reached the end of today's show.
00:49:47.000 Tomorrow, we will be broadcasting from far away in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where I'm giving a speech in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
00:49:54.000 The day after that, I'm speaking at Yale.
00:49:56.000 And the day after that, I'm speaking at Roanoke College in Virginia.
00:49:58.000 So if you're near any of those places, you're free to show up.
00:50:01.000 If not, don't, and see if I care.
00:50:02.000 But in any case, you should show up for the podcast, because we will be broadcasting the rest of this week.
00:50:07.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:50:08.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
