The Ben Shapiro Show - Ep. 89 - No, You Won't Be Able To Control Donald Trump

00:00:00.000 Here we are.

00:00:00.000 It is a Tuesday.

00:00:01.000 It is Super Tuesday.

00:00:03.000 It's Super Duper Pooper Scooper Tuesday.

00:00:05.000 Everybody's so excited.

00:00:07.000 Tonight we find out whether Donald Trump is going to be stopped or whether I put my face in a garbage disposal.

00:00:13.000 Those are apparently the two choices for this evening.

00:00:15.000 We'll talk all about Super Duper Pooper Scooper Tuesday and what it means for America.

00:00:20.000 We'll also talk about the latest from the Breitbart News situation and many more things that will interest you as we do every single day.

00:00:28.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.

00:00:28.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.

00:00:31.000 All righty, so here we are, and let's start off with a big thank you to our sponsor, our brand new sponsors over at Hillsdale College.

00:00:44.000 As I say, Hillsdale College is a wonderful place.

00:00:47.000 Anybody who you're thinking about sending your kid to college, you should definitely be looking at Hillsdale College.

00:00:52.000 One of the only conservative institutions in America, a place that actually

00:00:55.000 We're good to go.

00:01:17.000 We're good to go.

00:01:47.000 We'll start off with, I know a lot of people are watching right now because of the interest in the Breitbart News debacle, the fact that I stepped down from Breitbart News.

00:01:56.000 I read my statement on the air at the end of yesterday's show, the one that BuzzFeed printed, and there are certain developments that are happening that I can't tell you about

00:02:06.000 For legal reasons, I should put it that way.

00:02:08.000 But, I can say that I was on the Today Show this morning, I was on Fox News last night, Megan Kelly had me on with Michelle Fields, and I want to start off by saying to all of you Michelle Fields truthers out there who believe that she bruised her own arm, and that this is all nonsense, and that she wasn't grabbed, and that the tape shows that this is all a hoax, 1.00

00:02:30.000 You're idiots. 0.99

00:02:31.000 I understand that you're very loyal to Donald Trump and you want to stand up for him. 1.00

00:02:36.000 Yay, Donald Trump!

00:02:37.000 I understand.

00:02:37.000 We're all very excited for you.

00:02:39.000 But tape shows Corey Lewandowski grabbing Michelle Fields by the arm and he bruised her.

00:02:44.000 End of story.

00:02:45.000 That's it.

00:02:46.000 That's the whole thing.

00:02:47.000 And if somebody did that to my wife, I'd be pissed. 0.96

00:02:49.000 Michelle had a right to be pissed. 1.00

00:02:51.000 Michelle had a right to ask for an apology.

00:02:52.000 She had a right to ask for more than that.

00:02:54.000 Lewandowski did not apologize.

00:02:55.000 Instead, Lewandowski doubled down and Breitbart went with Lewandowski's story over Michelle Fields's.

00:03:01.000 It was a disaster area.

00:03:02.000 And they made clear where they stand.

00:03:04.000 They made clear that they stand with the Trump campaign.

00:03:06.000 Overstanding not only with their own reporter, but overstanding with the basic truth, which is that Corey Lewandowski grabbed her by the arm. 0.80

00:03:13.000 And that's really pretty disgusting.

00:03:15.000 And it doesn't really matter whether you think that it was egregious.

00:03:18.000 Nobody suggested, by the way, that Michelle Fields was taken and thrown on the ground and beaten to death with a pike. 0.99

00:03:23.000 Nobody suggested that.

00:03:24.000 Nobody suggested that she was raped by Corey Lewandowski.

00:03:27.000 Nobody has suggested any of these things.

00:03:29.000 Nobody even really suggested that this was a major physical incident in which her arm was ripped off and she was beaten to death with it.

00:03:35.000 Nobody said any of that, particularly not Michelle.

00:03:38.000 What Michelle said has been very consistent from the beginning.

00:03:40.000 She was grabbed by the arm, she was pulled by the arm, yanked by the arm, she was bruised on the arm, she stumbled a little bit, and she regained her balance.

00:03:48.000 That was the whole thing, and it was reported by Ben Terrace of the Washington Post, too.

00:03:51.000 If you don't think that Michelle is telling the truth, maybe you think Ben Terrace is also lying, and you think that

00:03:57.000 She went home, Michelle, and she had her arm bruised by Jamie Weinstein.

00:04:00.000 Honestly, for the people who believe that Barack Obama was born in Kenya, despite all evidence to the contrary, and the people who believe that Ted Cruz was born in Canada or ineligible for the presidency, it isn't a big stretch to simply look at tape and pretend that it doesn't exist.

00:04:14.000 But, you know, if that's the game that you want to play, I'll leave you to it.

00:04:18.000 I hope you enjoy yourselves.

00:04:19.000 You're right.

00:04:20.000 It was all just a giant hoax, because if a good-looking girl like Michelle were gonna hoax somebody, 1.00

00:04:25.000 Clearly the way that you're gonna hoax somebody is not by getting Corey Lewandowski in a room alone and then claiming rape or something.

00:04:30.000 What you're gonna do is go in a room full of a hundred people and then get yanked on the arm and then talk about being yanked on the arm.

00:04:36.000 Clearly that's what's going on here. 1.00

00:04:38.000 You're all morons. 1.00

00:04:40.000 That's all I can say for you. 1.00

00:04:41.000 If you truly believe this is a hoax... 1.00

00:04:43.000 You're stupid. 1.00

00:04:44.000 Or, presumably, at one point you were writing that for Breitbart News. 1.00

00:04:49.000 Those are the only two possible options.

00:04:50.000 So, alright.

00:04:51.000 I was on Megyn Kelly last night.

00:04:52.000 She asked me why is this a story, given the fact that Michelle wasn't egregiously injured, and here was my answer to Megyn Kelly last night.

00:04:59.000 So why is this a story?

00:05:00.000 I mean, Ben, in your view, Ben, apart from the implosion of Breitbart, and it's part of the civil war that we're seeing from some on the right, why is this a story?

00:05:10.000 Well, I mean, I think the idolatrous worship of the Trump campaign by some people in the media, leading to them covering up the truth, is a major story.

00:05:17.000 And as you say, I think it's again a story because the Trump campaign never acknowledges mistakes, never acknowledges their responsibility for violence, never acknowledges anything that they do wrong.

00:05:27.000 It's a no-apologies campaign.

00:05:28.000 That's why he's popular.

00:05:29.000 But that does have consequences, and it does have victims.

00:05:32.000 In this case, it was just a bruise on the arm, but there are other cases where it's more than that.

00:05:37.000 And one of the other cases in which it's more than that is, for example, that black guy getting clocked at one of the Trump rallies, right?

00:05:42.000 And then Trump sang on national TV, and maybe he'd pay for the defense of the guy who clocked that guy in the face.

00:05:48.000 So this has a lot to do with the Trump campaign, it has a lot to do with Breitbart, and it has a lot to do with the media's worship for Trump.

00:05:54.000 You know, people have been asking, okay, so I've alleged that Breitbart News is a very pro-Trump website.

00:05:58.000 That's because I can read, folks.

00:05:59.000 It's because I'm literate.

00:06:00.000 If you're literate and you've been following Breitbart News for months, then obviously this is the case.

00:06:05.000 There's a website that has popped up online that's kind of funny called Trumpbart.com, which is, you know, a takeoff on Breitbart.

00:06:12.000 They did the formatting all the same as Breitbart.

00:06:15.000 And there are a lot of people who believe that.

00:06:17.000 I mean, Megyn Kelly mentioned on last night's Fox News show that there are a lot of people who call it Trumpbart.

00:06:22.000 So people are asking me, so why does Breitbart do this?

00:06:24.000 Why do they do this?

00:06:25.000 And I think there are three reasons why Breitbart did this.

00:06:28.000 One reason is because Trump is great for traffic.

00:06:30.000 He just is.

00:06:31.000 He's great for traffic.

00:06:32.000 You talk about Trump, particularly if you talk in a positive way about Trump, your ratings will go up.

00:06:36.000 And there are a lot of people in the media who are willing to sell their soul for those ratings.

00:06:40.000 There are a lot of people who are willing to go along with a guy who's an authoritarian demagogue.

00:06:45.000 Simply to gain in the ratings.

00:06:46.000 I know that Andrew Klavan's been talking about this.

00:06:49.000 I can guarantee you, look, I see our traffic, right?

00:06:51.000 I see our traffic online.

00:06:52.000 I see our traffic on our podcast.

00:06:54.000 We're gradually growing and steadily growing to the point where we now have nearly 40,000 people every day listening to the Ben Shapiro Show, which is wonderful, listening to our podcast.

00:07:03.000 If I were a big Trump supporter, I guarantee it would be higher than that.

00:07:06.000 Because the fact is that Trump is a very popular man, and he says a lot of politically incorrect things, and so people like that.

00:07:13.000 Okay, that's one reason to support Trump is for the cash.

00:07:16.000 The second reason is because you think that Donald Trump says things that need to be said.

00:07:20.000 So there's a great cartoon in the New Yorker that Andrew Klavan forwarded to me, and it makes me sad that I'm now finding common cause with some people on the left who are ripping Trump, but when people are right, they're right.

00:07:30.000 This is my key rule in life.

00:07:32.000 My key rule in life.

00:07:33.000 Right is right, wrong is wrong.

00:07:35.000 Facts don't care about your feelings, and facts don't care where they came from.

00:07:38.000 So there's a cartoon in the New Yorker, which is generally a terrible publication.

00:07:43.000 The cartoon showed this couple watching a TV screen, and inside the TV screen is Satan.

00:07:48.000 And they're saying to each other, well sure it's Satan, but he's saying things that need to be said.

00:07:53.000 And there is that feeling for a lot of folks about Trump.

00:07:56.000 I like Trump and we're gonna cover Trump because he says that he slaps the media.

00:08:00.000 So Breitbart for a long time has said the left media is terrible.

00:08:03.000 Early on, if you look at my coverage of Trump, when he first jumped in, I was saying the same things.

00:08:07.000 I was saying, for example, I think that he's slapping some of the right people.

00:08:10.000 When he tells Jorge Ramos that he needs to actually just not interrupt other people, that's a good thing, right?

00:08:16.000 I was saying some of these things too, and then gradually it became clear that Trump was more than just slapping the wrong people, he was slapping everybody, and particularly he was disgracing conservatism.

00:08:26.000 And then there's a third reason, and that is ego.

00:08:28.000 There are a lot of people who really want to glom onto a winner.

00:08:31.000 And they see Trump as a winner, and they think they can ride him all the way to the top.

00:08:35.000 And this is really what I want to talk about today.

00:08:38.000 So what I want to talk about today is this weird idea that's going around that Donald Trump is going to be just fine as president.

00:08:44.000 That he's going to be just fine.

00:08:45.000 If he's elected,

00:08:46.000 We're cool.

00:08:47.000 I understand the lesser of two evils argument.

00:08:49.000 I get the lesser of two evils argument.

00:08:51.000 You know, you want to say that he's not going to be as bad as Hillary Clinton. 1.00

00:08:53.000 She's guaranteed to be a crap show. 1.00

00:08:55.000 He's just a crapshoot. 1.00

00:08:56.000 He could be anywhere. 0.73

00:08:58.000 You know, that's an argument that I get.

00:08:59.000 Dennis Prager made this argument to me last week on his radio show.

00:09:03.000 I don't agree with it, because if he's a crapshoot, how have we done with Republican crapshoots in the past?

00:09:08.000 Has that worked out well for us?

00:09:09.000 John Roberts on the Supreme Court, for example.

00:09:11.000 Has that been a real boon for us?

00:09:13.000 How about Souter?

00:09:14.000 How about Kennedy?

00:09:16.000 How about Sandra Day O'Connor? 0.54

00:09:17.000 Has that worked out well for us?

00:09:19.000 Or in politics?

00:09:20.000 Has it worked out great when we trusted somebody who's kind of a black box to do the right thing? 1.00

00:09:25.000 When has that actually worked out well?

00:09:26.000 The last person we did this with was probably Dwight D. Eisenhower.

00:09:30.000 And for my money, Eisenhower is one of the more overrated presidents in American history, particularly on foreign policy.

00:09:37.000 So, but there are a lot of people out there who are saying, OK, well, Trump, you know, don't worry.

00:09:42.000 How will we assure that he doesn't just become an ego monster that eats everything or pees on it? 0.62

00:09:47.000 How can we be sure that that is what happens?

00:09:49.000 We will control him.

00:09:50.000 He'll get in.

00:09:51.000 He doesn't have a lot of ideas.

00:09:53.000 He doesn't know what he's talking about.

00:09:54.000 He'll need experts.

00:09:55.000 And then he will rely on the experts who surround him.

00:09:59.000 So, for example, Ben Carson basically said this yesterday.

00:10:03.000 He was endorsing Trump, and this is the most tepid form of endorsement you could possibly come up with.

00:10:08.000 I mean, just watch the endorsement and you will see.

00:10:11.000 Ben Carson, wow.

00:10:14.000 Here he was on Newsmax TV yesterday.

00:10:16.000 Now, on your support, I know you explained why you're supporting him, but it was a 180 degree turnaround for the most part.

00:10:25.000 I mean, he said some nasty things about you.

00:10:28.000 How do you reconcile that?

00:10:30.000 Politics.

00:10:32.000 You know, the politics of personal destruction.

00:10:35.000 You know, that's nothing new.

00:10:36.000 I mean, that's been going around for a long period of time.

00:10:40.000 But also, I have to look at what is practical.

00:10:47.000 I didn't see a path for Kasich, who I like, or for Rubio, who I like.

00:10:54.000 As far as Cruz is concerned, I don't think that he's going to be able to draw independents and Democrats, unless he has some kind of miraculous change.

00:11:07.000 So I have to look at what is practical and what is going to save this country.

00:11:13.000 And the American dream for the next generation.

00:11:16.000 Is there another scenario that I would have preferred?

00:11:19.000 Yes, but that scenario isn't available.

00:11:22.000 Yes.

00:11:25.000 So, in other words, Donald Trump is the only one left to endorse because he's gonna win.

00:11:29.000 Right?

00:11:29.000 He's gonna win, so I'm gonna endorse him.

00:11:30.000 That's as tepid an endorsement as you could possibly have. 0.99

00:11:33.000 Well, I chose the chocolate ice cream because it turns out that every other ice cream flavor had rat crap in it. 0.99

00:11:38.000 Okay, well, thank you, Dr. Carson. 0.95

00:11:40.000 That's a stirring recommendation for the chocolate, so thank you for that.

00:11:44.000 Ben Carson then continued, and he said that, you know, the real reason why he did this is because he was basically bribed to do it.

00:11:50.000 Here's Dr. Carson.

00:11:51.000 Now I do believe, and certainly in my discussions with Donald Trump, he does love America.

00:11:59.000 And he does want to be successful.

00:12:02.000 And he will surround himself with very good people.

00:12:06.000 And will one of them be Dr. Ben Carson?

00:12:09.000 I will be doing things as well, yes.

00:12:12.000 In the administration?

00:12:15.000 Certainly in an advisory capacity.

00:12:17.000 That's been determined?

00:12:18.000 When you sat down with him that was discussed?

00:12:21.000 Yes.

00:12:22.000 Well, you know, we haven't hammered out all the details, but it is very important, you know, that we work together to save this country.

00:12:39.000 Again, I'm not going to reveal any details about it right now because all of this is still very liquid. 0.98

00:12:47.000 Oh, he gave him free crap. 0.98

00:12:48.000 Yay! 0.99

00:12:49.000 So it turns out that Dr. Ben Carson, the most principled, moral man in the race, is endorsing Donald Trump because nobody else would give him stuff.

00:12:57.000 That's pretty much what it turned out to be.

00:12:58.000 So, thank you for that, Dr. Carson.

00:13:00.000 But it's really another one of his comments that he said in this particular interview that strikes me.

00:13:04.000 He says,

00:13:06.000 Even if, I don't want to do the Ben Carson voice because if I do it, then people who are listening to this in their cars will drive off roads, crash into bridges, burn buildings down.

00:13:14.000 It could get really risky out there.

00:13:17.000 But he says, the way I look at it, even if Donald Trump turns out to not be such a great president, which I don't think is the case.

00:13:23.000 I think he's really going to surround himself with really good people.

00:13:26.000 But even if he didn't, we're only looking at four years.

00:13:28.000 That's opposed to multiple generations and perhaps the loss of the American dream forever.

00:13:33.000 So again, ringing, stirring words from Dr. Carson.

00:13:36.000 Vote for this guy.

00:13:36.000 He might be unbelievably crappy at his job, but it's just four years, gang.

00:13:42.000 But the part of that that's actually important is where he says, he's gonna be fine.

00:13:45.000 He'll surround himself with really good people.

00:13:47.000 Now, he's not the only one saying this.

00:13:48.000 A lot of people saying this.

00:13:50.000 I host a morning radio show out here called The Morning Answer on KRLA 870, and you can listen to it online.

00:13:56.000 And one of the guest hosts today with me was Larry Elder, and Larry's great.

00:14:00.000 Larry and I have known each other since I was 16 years old.

00:14:03.000 He's really a terrific fellow and a really good thinker.

00:14:05.000 And Larry was talking about Trump, and he basically said the same thing Carson says there.

00:14:09.000 He says, well, you know, he'll surround himself with good people.

00:14:12.000 I think he'll make good decisions because he surrounds himself with good people.

00:14:16.000 And he's not the only one saying that either.

00:14:17.000 Michael Needham.

00:14:19.000 He's a real hardcore dude who works for Heritage Action for America.

00:14:22.000 Last week, the Washington Post reported he said this, quote,

00:14:34.000 So to dumb that down from kind of Washington, D.C. 0.96

00:14:37.000 speak English, what that really means is Trump is an empty-headed vessel, and we will fill his head with conservatism.

00:14:44.000 He'll get in there, and then we will make sure that he is surrounded by conservatives at all times, under all circumstances.

00:14:51.000 This, to me, is utter tripe.

00:14:54.000 I don't think this is true in any way, shape, or form.

00:14:56.000 I don't think that Donald Trump is malleable.

00:14:58.000 I don't think that Donald Trump will listen to the people who surround him.

00:15:01.000 And I'll tell you why in just a moment.

00:15:03.000 How's that for a tease?

00:15:03.000 But first, we have to say hello to our other sponsor, Reagan.com.

00:15:07.000 So there are a lot of people out there who are out to get your personal, private email information.

00:15:12.000 They're out to get your data.

00:15:13.000 And this is corporations.

00:15:15.000 It's the government.

00:15:16.000 Lots of people want that information.

00:15:17.000 It's very valuable.

00:15:18.000 They want to market to you.

00:15:19.000 They want to take things from you.

00:15:21.000 They're identity thieves.

00:15:22.000 One of the places where you can be sure that they're not going to be able to take information from you.

00:15:27.000 One place that's going to keep all of your desired information confidential is at reagan.com.

00:15:32.000 You can get your name there.

00:15:34.000 It's your name as you see on the screen.

00:15:35.000 Your name at reagan.com.

00:15:37.000 So benshapiro at reagan.com.

00:15:39.000 And that's really cool.

00:15:40.000 You get to

00:15:41.000 Send all of your friends emails that annoy them because you have Reagan at the end of it, which is really neat.

00:15:46.000 Obviously, the email privacy is great.

00:16:16.000 Again, that's reaganprivacy.com.

00:16:18.000 Okay, so, as I was saying, there are a lot of people out there who believe, wrongly, that they can control Donald Trump.

00:16:25.000 I don't know what in this campaign makes anyone believe you can control Donald Trump.

00:16:30.000 Anything in this campaign makes you believe that you can control Donald Trump in any way.

00:16:35.000 His campaign is out of control.

00:16:36.000 It is an out-of-control train.

00:16:39.000 It's off the tracks.

00:16:40.000 Harrison Ford is running from it, but he's chained by the ankles.

00:16:43.000 He's trying to jump into a ditch.

00:16:45.000 He has to get there before the train runs him over.

00:16:47.000 Will he get there?

00:16:48.000 We don't know, but the train is going to crash, and we're just happy that Harrison Ford threw the cop out the window.

00:16:53.000 Okay, that's the Donald Trump campaign.

00:16:55.000 And you can see it in action every single day.

00:16:58.000 I mean, every single day.

00:17:00.000 So, for example, Donald Trump yesterday.

00:17:02.000 So, Todd Palin was in a snowmobile accident up in Alaska.

00:17:07.000 And so, Donald Trump did an event with Sarah Palin.

00:17:11.000 And here is Donald Trump at that event talking about Todd Palin's snowmobile accident.

00:17:17.000 So, what I say about Second Amendment is this, okay?

00:17:20.000 And you can say the same thing for California with the 14 great people that were killed.

00:17:25.000 There were no bullets going in the opposite direction.

00:17:28.000 If Todd Palin were in that room, frankly, if Sarah Palin were in the room, it would have been... Forget about Todd, especially now.

00:17:37.000 If Sarah Palin were in that room, but if somebody were in that room that had a gun of some kind attached to the hip, attached to the ankle, where bullets could fly in the opposite direction, you wouldn't have had this.

00:17:51.000 I just gave you the Salvador Dali scream face there because what in the world? 0.97

00:17:56.000 And this just slips right by people, right?

00:17:58.000 Todd Palin is in the ICU right now.

00:18:00.000 Forget about Todd.

00:18:01.000 Especially now.

00:18:04.000 What?

00:18:05.000 What did you just- what just came out of your face? 1.00

00:18:07.000 Out of that crazy looking maw of yours? 0.99

00:18:09.000 What came out of that? 0.99

00:18:10.000 What?

00:18:12.000 Okay, so this is the Donald Trump campaign.

00:18:14.000 You think you can control this?

00:18:15.000 You think this isn't a force of nature?

00:18:17.000 This is the Donald Trump campaign, and he will not be stopped.

00:18:19.000 I mean, how out of control is this campaign?

00:18:21.000 So, it's not just Trump, by the way.

00:18:22.000 He trots out his campaign surrogate.

00:18:24.000 And I was trying to think this morning.

00:18:25.000 I was thinking, what are some of the most... 0.95

00:18:27.000 Ridiculous presidential press conferences that I've ever seen or campaign press conferences that I've ever seen. 0.71

00:18:35.000 And sorry, brief time out here.

00:18:36.000 I just want to point out somebody was tweeting at me earlier.

00:18:38.000 Why don't you spend more time attacking the left?

00:18:40.000 Why you spend all this time attacking Trump?

00:18:42.000 Because Trump is the left.

00:18:43.000 Okay, Trump believes all the same things the left believes.

00:18:45.000 He's just lying to you.

00:18:46.000 So anyway, Donald Trump, you know, I was trying to think of embarrassing kind of

00:18:50.000 Press conferences.

00:18:52.000 And the first three that came to mind were all Trump, right?

00:18:54.000 It was Trump with Chris Christie behind him, looking as though he just discovered that his puppy had died.

00:19:01.000 And then there was the press conference with Ben Carson, where Ben Carson looked like something straight out of an Iranian hostage video.

00:19:07.000 And then there was the press conference with Sarah Palin, where Donald Trump was standing to the side and Sarah Palin just started screaming and shouting for no reason.

00:19:14.000 Well, if you just can't get enough of Sarah Palin screaming and shouting... And by the way, less people say... I've called Hillary Clinton shrill in the past. 1.00

00:19:22.000 Less people say that I am not a bipartisan fellow.

00:19:26.000 If you look up shrill in the dictionary, under that word you will now see this video.

00:19:31.000 This exact video.

00:19:32.000 It actually plays in your book.

00:19:33.000 You open up the book and you think it's not electronic, but it doesn't matter.

00:19:36.000 This video of Sarah Palin plays under the word shrill.

00:19:40.000 Here we go.

00:19:41.000 And doesn't it make you so appreciate your time?

00:19:44.000 Time is our most valuable resource.

00:19:46.000 It makes me appreciate the time that we have to spend in doing something so worthy, and that's to get Donald J. Trump elected president.

00:19:57.000 And what we don't have time for is all that petty, punk-ass little thuggery stuff that's been going on

00:20:09.000 With these quote-unquote protesters! 0.99

00:20:13.000 Who are doing nothing but wasting your time and trying to take away your First Amendment rights, your rights to assemble peacefully, and the media being on the fuck's side. 0.99

00:20:28.000 Okay, so there's Sarah Palin explaining that her, by the way, her husband is in the ICU right now. 0.97

00:20:33.000 There's Sarah Palin explaining that the most important thing she can be doing while her husband is in the ICU is campaigning for Donald Trump.

00:20:40.000 Oh, happy day.

00:20:42.000 And then she drops that punk-ass thuggery routine, which somebody has already cut a very, very funny vine of Sarah Palin doing this, and they put it over a dope beat. 1.00

00:20:54.000 They put it over a rap beat, and so they recut it, so it's actually Sarah Palin rapping about punk-ass thuggery, which is pretty funny.

00:21:01.000 Well, we'll have to grab it for tomorrow, because it is pretty humorous.

00:21:04.000 This is the campaign you think you're gonna control?

00:21:05.000 These are the people that you think you're gonna control?

00:21:08.000 Like the Donald Trump who trots this out, right?

00:21:10.000 You think that this is what you're going to control?

00:21:13.000 Donald Trump surrounds himself with sycophants.

00:21:15.000 It's what he does. 0.98

00:21:15.000 He's surrounded consistently all the time by people who just kiss his rear. 0.98

00:21:20.000 Corey Lewandowski is just one of these people apparently.

00:21:22.000 Politico has a piece today about Lewandowski and how Lewandowski basically

00:21:27.000 Hangs around Trump all the time, and there are even people inside the Trump campaign who are unhappy with Lewandowski, and that's how you end up with Donald Trump on national TV calling Michelle Fields a liar, right, for saying exactly what happened, which is that she was grabbed by the arm by Corey Lewandowski.

00:21:40.000 He surrounds himself with yes-men.

00:21:42.000 I'm firmly convinced that, or at least partially convinced, I won't say firmly, I'm partially convinced that, you know that press conference?

00:21:48.000 Trump held after he won a bunch of states on the Tuesday night of last week.

00:21:54.000 You remember how he said Trump Steaks still exist, Trump Wine still exist, Trump Vodka still exist, Trump Water still exist, Trump University still exist?

00:22:02.000 Remember he said all these things?

00:22:04.000 I'm at least partially convinced that he thinks they do.

00:22:08.000 That he's not actually lying because all the people who surround him are just telling, he says, are you telling me that Trump's stakes no longer exist?

00:22:14.000 Is that what you're telling me?

00:22:15.000 That Trump's stakes no longer exist?

00:22:17.000 Is that what you're saying to me right now?

00:22:18.000 He says, no, no, sir, I'm sure it does exist.

00:22:21.000 Well, good, good, it should.

00:22:24.000 For example, here's an anecdote from today's New York Times, right, quote, Mr. Trump is abundantly proud of his ability to drive a golf ball.

00:22:32.000 Once asking rhetorically during a news conference, do I hit it long?

00:22:36.000 Is Trump strong?

00:22:39.000 Mr. Senecall, who is Trump's former butler, he suggested that Mr. Trump was perhaps not quite as strong as he imagined, remembering times they would hit balls together from the Mar-a-Lago property into the Intracoastal Waterway, which is always great, you know, hitting it right into the lake.

00:22:54.000 Tony, how far is that, Mr. Trump would ask.

00:22:56.000 It's like 275 yards, Mr. Senecall would respond, though he said the actual distance was 225 yards.

00:23:03.000 Unsurprising.

00:23:04.000 Unsurprising.

00:23:05.000 But this is who Trump surrounds himself with.

00:23:06.000 He's never been told no.

00:23:07.000 You can tell he's never been told no, because he'll say anything, and then he'll back off of it, and then he acts like a spoiled child.

00:23:13.000 He does.

00:23:13.000 If you've ever dealt with a spoiled child, if you tell that spoiled child no, they just will ignore the no.

00:23:18.000 It's like the no doesn't even exist.

00:23:21.000 Because their parents have never said, they don't know what the meaning of the word is.

00:23:23.000 So the idea that you're gonna control Trump, he gets in the presidency, and don't worry, he'll surround himself with fantastic people.

00:23:30.000 Even Jeff Sessions on immigration.

00:23:31.000 I like Jeff Sessions, by the way.

00:23:32.000 I know Senator Sessions.

00:23:34.000 Jeff Sessions has this immigration plan that he trotted out for Trump, basically.

00:23:38.000 And Trump, in the debate, the minute he got a little bit kerfluffled, the minute he got a little flustered, Trump immediately dumped part of the plan, just on stage, in the middle of the stage.

00:23:48.000 He just dumped it.

00:23:49.000 I mean, like, he threw it up on stage.

00:23:52.000 And then, right afterward, he tweeted out, oh yeah, by the way, I still am on board with the original plan.

00:23:56.000 So, he shifts his position on whim.

00:23:58.000 The idea that you're gonna control him is absurd.

00:24:00.000 Roger Stone, who's a former consultant to Trump, still a pro-Trump guy, he said, he keeps his own counsel.

00:24:05.000 He has succeeded so far by being his own man, so it's very tough to convince him not to continue on the course that has brought him this far.

00:24:13.000 He's 69 years old, folks.

00:24:14.000 He is not going to change.

00:24:16.000 This is not somebody who, if you talk nicely to him,

00:24:19.000 That if you just stick with him and you surround him with all the right people, he'll be cajoled, he'll be convinced to do the right thing.

00:24:28.000 And I think that, you know, ladies? 0.99

00:24:31.000 Lindsay knows the answer to this question.

00:24:33.000 Mothers, fathers tell their daughters, don't marry a guy to change him.

00:24:38.000 Don't do it.

00:24:39.000 Don't date a guy thinking you're gonna change him.

00:24:41.000 Republicans are about to jump in bed with a guy they think they can change.

00:24:45.000 It's not going to happen.

00:24:48.000 Not gonna happen, not happening, not gonna, it's just not.

00:24:52.000 Okay, so that's one thing I wanted to talk about today.

00:24:54.000 Second thing that I wanted to talk about today, in terms of all things Trump, because he now controls the news cycle, he has it throttled in his tiny man hands, is that

00:25:04.000 There's this other kind of argument going around, and it's a good argument, that Trump is the lesser of two evils.

00:25:10.000 He's the lesser of two evils.

00:25:11.000 And so every time somebody says something bad about Trump, somebody comes back with something bad about Obama or Hillary or Sanders.

00:25:18.000 Okay.

00:25:19.000 That's not totally unfair.

00:25:21.000 And you're seeing a lot of people do this.

00:25:22.000 Here's Katrina Pearson, for example, this is Trump's spokesperson, saying that, you know, when Trump uses violent rhetoric, you know, that is something that Obama started it.

00:25:33.000 Here's Katrina Pearson.

00:25:34.000 Trump campaign denied that anybody's been hurt.

00:25:38.000 Well, I think this is exactly what I wanted to talk about, in all honesty, Jake, because the one thing the media does not show is what happens prior to these events, where you do have these Black Lives Matter protesters go out there, whether it's moveon.org pushing people out to these things or not.

00:25:52.000 They go into these Trump rallies, and they start swinging and kicking.

00:25:55.000 They throw themselves on the ground, start throwing themselves into people, and then expect to not be pushed off of them.

00:26:02.000 That's what you see happening.

00:26:03.000 Unfortunately, the media doesn't want to show that part.

00:26:06.000 And I'll say this.

00:26:07.000 If we want to talk about inciting violence, where is the interview with Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama when they're talking about bringing a gun to a knife fight, when they're inciting violence against police officers?

00:26:18.000 Today, we have police officers called out to fake calls so they can be ambushed and potentially assassinated.

00:26:24.000 And we're talking about protesters, paid protesters, going to disrupt a Republican rally?

00:26:29.000 If it wasn't Donald Trump, it would be any of the other candidates on this panel, and they know it.

00:26:34.000 Well, I mean, the line from The Untouchables about bringing a gun to a knife fight, I think people recognize that that was an allusion to Sean Connery.

00:26:42.000 I don't think so.

00:26:43.000 I didn't.

00:26:44.000 I didn't recognize that.

00:26:44.000 Absolutely not.

00:26:45.000 Okay, well, you should check out the film The Untouchables.

00:26:47.000 Okay, so there she is, not knowing what The Untouchables is. 0.51

00:26:51.000 But that doesn't change the point.

00:26:52.000 I mean, the point in...

00:26:53.000 In the Untouchables is that you have to bring greater violence to lesser violence. 0.88

00:26:56.000 I mean, in case Jake Tapper has not actually seen the Untouchables, what proceeds from there is that they immediately break into a still, guns blazing.

00:27:04.000 That's literally the next scene after the, you bring a knife, a gun to a knife fight.

00:27:08.000 So let's, you know, we'll take it easy on Katrina Pearson.

00:27:11.000 But what she's basically saying here is actually right, right?

00:27:13.000 What Trump's people are saying here is correct.

00:27:15.000 The left does this kind of stuff all the time.

00:27:18.000 And they do.

00:27:19.000 The left has been incentivizing violence for years.

00:27:21.000 The Black Lives Matter movement, which says that cops are out to get you and suggests that riots are okay, that is incentivizing violence. 0.99

00:27:29.000 And it is inciting violence.

00:27:30.000 No question about it.

00:27:31.000 When you have the mayor of Baltimore saying that she gives rioters room to riot.

00:27:35.000 When you have the DOJ saying they're going to go easy on offenders because they don't want to offend the local communities.

00:27:41.000 You know, this is stuff that actually ends in violence.

00:27:43.000 It's why you've seen a significant uptick in the last couple of years in violence, and this scares me.

00:27:48.000 I mean, I think that, as I've mentioned a couple of times, great book, I just finished Barry Latzer's book, The Rise and Fall of Violent Crime in America, and he talks about how from 1960 to 1990, the violent crime in the United States rose 400%, so multiply by four times, right?

00:28:03.000 To the point where there was a statistic in the early 1980s that if the crime statistics stayed the same for the next 20 years as they were that year,

00:28:11.000 A person living then would have a 40% chance of being victimized in a violent altercation, right?

00:28:17.000 I mean, it was that bad.

00:28:18.000 And the reason it got that bad is because of social unrest, because there were no social ties that bind.

00:28:23.000 There was no common decency.

00:28:25.000 There was no notion that we're supposed to hold things together.

00:28:29.000 Civility is not a word that I'm real fond of because I think that people use it for the wrong reason.

00:28:34.000 But there's such a thing as civilized.

00:28:36.000 That's a word I like better.

00:28:37.000 Civility suggests that you can't use harsh language against people, or against causes more importantly.

00:28:42.000 Civilized implies you can't use violence against people.

00:28:44.000 So that's why I like civilized better than just being civil to people.

00:28:48.000 But in any case, the notion that is being pushed forward here by Pearson is right, that Obama has been pushing violence.

00:28:55.000 And Newt Gingrich did the same thing.

00:28:57.000 Here's Newt Gingrich yesterday doing the same thing.

00:28:59.000 Here with reaction, author of the New York Times bestseller, Duplicity.

00:29:03.000 He's a former Speaker of the House, Fox News contributor, Newt Gingrich.

00:29:06.000 Mr. Speaker, it's sort of like the same left-wing, I'll use the word fascism, that we see on college campuses.

00:29:14.000 Mark Thiessen had a piece today.

00:29:15.000 Condi Rice, other people have been shut down, denied opportunities to speak because they're conservative.

00:29:22.000 Seems like the same thing's happening here.

00:29:24.000 Thoughts?

00:29:27.000 Well, first of all, the actions Friday night clearly were left-wing fascism, and you're exactly right.

00:29:33.000 I'm really saddened by any Republican who wants to blame Trump.

00:29:38.000 Donald Trump wasn't the reason, for example, that, as you point out, Condi Rice gets cancelled, Ben Carson gets cancelled on the campus, Ayaan Hirsi Ali gets cancelled on the campus.

00:29:48.000 The fact is, you have this entire movement of fascism, which is saying, if you don't agree with me, I'm going to shut up your right to speak.

00:29:56.000 I'm going to intimidate you. 0.93

00:29:57.000 I'm going to bully you.

00:29:58.000 And they're terrified of Trump, because he seems to be strong enough and dynamic enough to take him head on.

00:30:05.000 But it's worse than that in the news media.

00:30:07.000 You have on MSNBC, for example, Rachel Maddow suggesting

00:30:11.000 That for Trump to go to Chicago, Cleveland, or St.

00:30:15.000 Louis is provocative because of racial incidents that occurred in those three cities.

00:30:20.000 Now, imagine an American television figure suggesting that a presidential candidate shouldn't visit Chicago, Cleveland, or St.

00:30:29.000 Louis.

00:30:30.000 This is madness.

00:30:31.000 And I think we have some obligation to say to the news media, you know, you need to get off this Trump bashing and report honestly, not just in the presidential race, but on the campuses, what is happening.

00:30:43.000 So this is totally true, obviously.

00:30:45.000 And he, you know, he says that a bunch of people have been canceled because of requests.

00:30:49.000 Yeah, and then we personally, all of us in this room, experienced a riot almost at Cal State LA.

00:30:54.000 So we know what he's saying is exactly right.

00:30:55.000 What Gingrich is saying is exactly right.

00:30:57.000 And Trump people have a legit critique here, which is that there is a double standard.

00:31:01.000 When Trump uses rhetoric that incites people to violence, or allegedly incites people to violence, then people are all over him.

00:31:08.000 And when the left does it, nobody notices.

00:31:09.000 All 100% true.

00:31:10.000 All of this is right.

00:31:13.000 And Bill O'Reilly says the same thing, right?

00:31:15.000 Here's Bill O'Reilly on Fox News last night saying people who are criticizing Trump's authoritarian streak, most of them are authoritarian, right?

00:31:21.000 And he's correct, too.

00:31:22.000 Here's Bill O'Reilly.

00:31:24.000 Opposition to Donald Trump is not the issue here.

00:31:27.000 True fascism is.

00:31:29.000 We have seen some anti-Trump people use the fascist salute while taunting Trump supporters.

00:31:36.000 But here's a very simple question.

00:31:38.000 Shutting down opposing points of view is totalitarian, right?

00:31:42.000 So some of the very people accusing Trump supporters of being fascist are really practicing that terrible philosophy themselves.

00:31:50.000 Okay.

00:31:50.000 Or am I wrong?

00:31:51.000 Okay, so he's not wrong.

00:31:53.000 A lot of the people who are trying to shut down Trump are the same people who the Trump people are, right?

00:32:00.000 But this is the point.

00:32:01.000 This is the point.

00:32:02.000 Two things can be true at once.

00:32:04.000 I know this is a difficult concept for some folks.

00:32:06.000 Two things can be true at once.

00:32:07.000 It is wrong for Democrats to pander and to make room for people to be violent and to incentivize people to be violent and to incite people to be violent.

00:32:17.000 It is wrong.

00:32:18.000 It is deeply wrong.

00:32:19.000 It is evil.

00:32:20.000 It is wrong to do all those things.

00:32:22.000 Also,

00:32:23.000 It is wrong for Donald Trump to get up on stage and say that people should be punched in the face for expressing in protest, or that people should be taken out on stretchers for disagreeing with him, or that he will pay the legal bills of people who punch people in the face for no reason other than protesting.

00:32:38.000 That is wrong, too.

00:32:39.000 Turns out that that excuse that your kid used in third grade or that you used to use yourself, it doesn't work in real life.

00:32:47.000 Okay, remember that excuse?

00:32:48.000 Well, he was doing it, too.

00:32:50.000 You're breaking into, you broke a window while Bobby was doing it too?

00:32:54.000 Turns out Bobby's wrong and so are you, gang.

00:32:56.000 So when it comes to the left doing it, the left is evil.

00:32:59.000 They do this on a routine basis.

00:33:01.000 They do it far more than the right.

00:33:02.000 The reason I'm cracking down on Trump is specifically because we have a chance at saving the right.

00:33:07.000 Do you understand?

00:33:07.000 Okay, so this is what's so perturbing about all this.

00:33:10.000 People say, why do you focus on Trump so much?

00:33:12.000 Why the focus on Trump?

00:33:13.000 Why not focus on the left?

00:33:14.000 Just bash the left, bash the left.

00:33:16.000 So let's say that you have two kids.

00:33:18.000 And right now I have a kid and another one on the way, so I'm very in a child-rearing mode.

00:33:23.000 But let's say you have two kids.

00:33:25.000 And one kid is just thorough-going bad.

00:33:27.000 One kid is just sociopathic, awful kid, just a troublemaker, bad all the way through. 0.51

00:33:33.000 And you have another kid. 0.96

00:33:35.000 And that kid's a good kid.

00:33:36.000 It's a good kid.

00:33:37.000 Kid does things that are right.

00:33:38.000 Kid does things that are moral.

00:33:40.000 And the good kid starts hanging around the bad kid.

00:33:43.000 And one day, you find the good kid, and he's got a can of spray paint, and he's spray painting the wall of the next door neighbor.

00:33:52.000 Right?

00:33:52.000 Who do you punish more?

00:33:53.000 The bad kid who you find doing that, or the good kid you find doing that?

00:33:56.000 Who do you punish? 0.99

00:33:56.000 Who do you go after? 0.99

00:33:57.000 Do you go after the bad kid, or do you go after the good kid?

00:34:01.000 In my view, you do not treat them equally.

00:34:03.000 You do not treat them equally.

00:34:04.000 It is much more important.

00:34:07.000 It is much more important.

00:34:08.000 If I'm the parent of both kids, it's more important for me to single out the kid who is good.

00:34:14.000 You know why?

00:34:15.000 Because that kid actually has a chance of being good.

00:34:17.000 The kid who's bad, the sociopath, he's gonna be bad no matter what.

00:34:21.000 You can try and you have to assume my premise that this kid is gonna be bad no matter what.

00:34:25.000 That is the American left.

00:34:27.000 The American left will be bad no matter what.

00:34:29.000 They're not going to stop doing this.

00:34:30.000 They've been doing this for well over a hundred years.

00:34:32.000 They're not going to stop being

00:34:36.000 They're not going to stop being disruptive and violent and vile.

00:34:38.000 They're not going to stop doing that.

00:34:39.000 The left will not stop doing that.

00:34:41.000 But we here on the right, we represent something better than that.

00:34:45.000 And if we see something bad in ourselves, let's stop ourselves.

00:34:48.000 We don't want to become them. 0.65

00:34:50.000 I don't want the good kid to become the bad kid.

00:34:52.000 I don't want two bad kids.

00:34:53.000 It's enough to have one bad kid.

00:34:54.000 I want to bring up the good kid to fight the bad kid.

00:34:57.000 I want to bring ourselves up so we can fight them.

00:35:00.000 And when I say fight them, I don't mean go out in the streets and punch people because they're protesting.

00:35:05.000 I mean, I want to bring up people who know right from wrong.

00:35:09.000 And right now, we're getting down.

00:35:12.000 It's not even getting down in the mud.

00:35:13.000 That's not even the proper phrase, because getting down in the mud politically means that you're willing to say anything.

00:35:17.000 I mean, violating basic rules of decency because we're loyal to a political candidate.

00:35:24.000 And that, to me, is just the highest form of grossness.

00:35:27.000 It really is yucky.

00:35:28.000 OK.

00:35:29.000 So, couple final points here.

00:35:32.000 Meanwhile, I will talk about the left briefly here.

00:35:34.000 Hillary Clinton is just, if the media were actually fair, which they are not, they would be covering the fact that Hillary Clinton is a sideshow. 1.00

00:35:40.000 She's a disaster area. 0.97

00:35:42.000 Here are a couple of things that Hillary Clinton said yesterday that demonstrate just what a disaster area she is. 0.96

00:35:46.000 This is what's so frustrating.

00:35:48.000 She's a disaster and we're gonna run a guy who signed her checks and is less popular than she is against her. 1.00

00:35:54.000 Here's Hillary Clinton yesterday talking about what she's gonna do about coal, the coal industry.

00:36:00.000 I'm the only candidate which has a policy about how to bring economic opportunity using clean renewable energy as the key into coal country.

00:36:11.000 Because we're going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business. 0.78

00:36:16.000 Right, Tim?

00:36:17.000 And we're going to make it clear that we don't want to forget those people.

00:36:21.000 Those people labored in those mines for generations, losing their health, often losing their lives, to turn on our lights and power our factories.

00:36:30.000 Now we've got to move away from coal.

00:36:34.000 Okay, so there's a pretty good campaign ad for Republicans in Ohio and Pennsylvania.

00:36:45.000 She wants to destroy the coal industry and put coal companies out of business. 0.99

00:36:48.000 But don't worry, she's got cash for you in those giant, crazy pockets that she has on this particular outfit. 0.99

00:36:54.000 All the cash is in there, along with her cankles.

00:36:56.000 So Hillary Clinton saying that she wants to kill coal jobs, again, she's a terrible candidate. 1.00

00:37:01.000 And then just to double down on how terrible she is, she was asked about Libya, right, about her Libya war.

00:37:06.000 Here's what she said about her Libya war.

00:37:08.000 And boy, I mean, Lindsey, you do makeup. 0.99

00:37:10.000 How much makeup is she wearing here? 1.00

00:37:11.000 This is about, I mean, this is, yeah, I mean, that's right, you need a chisel to get this stuff off at the end of the day.

00:37:16.000 Here's Hillary Clinton. 1.00

00:37:19.000 Now, is Libya perfect? 1.00

00:37:21.000 It isn't.

00:37:21.000 But did they have two elections that were free and fair where they voted for moderates?

00:37:27.000 Yes, they did.

00:37:28.000 So, you know, changing from a dictator who has hollowed out your country to something resembling a functioning state and even hopefully more of a democratic one doesn't happen overnight.

00:37:40.000 And we've got to continue to support the Libyan people, to give them a chance because

00:37:46.000 We didn't lose a single person in Libya.

00:37:48.000 Hmm.

00:38:15.000 Hmm.

00:38:16.000 Let's think about it.

00:38:17.000 Did we lose a single person in Libya?

00:38:18.000 Can anybody remember any like big news story where we might have had some people killed in Libya?

00:38:24.000 Hmm.

00:38:24.000 Maybe there was like a major motion picture that came out based on the fact that we lost some people in Libya.

00:38:30.000 Slipping my mind.

00:38:31.000 Oh, that's right.

00:38:32.000 Yeah, there were four people who got killed in Benghazi.

00:38:34.000 And by the way, this idea there were free and fair elections and it's not, things aren't ideal over there.

00:38:39.000 Okay, things aren't ideal over there is the greatest understatement since Bill Clinton might be a philanderer.

00:38:44.000 Right?

00:38:45.000 Okay, this is, things are not going fantastically well over there. 0.99

00:38:49.000 Try again, sucker. 1.00

00:38:51.000 I mean, that is a wild understatement. 1.00

00:38:54.000 Things are a disaster over there.

00:38:55.000 Terrorists control the country, and the legitimate government is meeting in secret, sometimes in boats offshore.

00:39:01.000 So, yes, Hillary Clinton, you've just been, you're a joy.

00:39:04.000 So Hillary Clinton continues. 1.00

00:39:06.000 To be just a disaster. 0.61

00:39:07.000 By the way, so is Bernie Sanders.

00:39:08.000 I mean, listen, here's Bernie Sanders.

00:39:10.000 Listen to what he says about climate change.

00:39:11.000 I mean, the Democrats are so off their rockers. 1.00

00:39:13.000 They are so nuts. 1.00

00:39:14.000 And the only more insane person we could find is Donald Trump. 1.00

00:39:18.000 We're going to go with that guy. 0.99

00:39:19.000 I mean, it's like we have a pathological death wish in the Republican Party.

00:39:23.000 In 2008, Bush is super unpopular, so we run the guy who is even more of a pro-war guy than Bush in John McCain.

00:39:30.000 In 2012,

00:39:31.000 Obamacare is super unpopular, so we run the guy who invented it. 0.97

00:39:35.000 And in 2016, we have two of the most corrupt and insane political candidates on the left running, and we're going to counter them with the most corrupt, insane guy we can find.

00:39:44.000 I mean, we could have found a homeless schizophrenic living on the streets of Los Angeles and run him for president, and he'd be giving more coherent answers half the time than the current Republican frontrunner. 0.98

00:39:53.000 But here's Bernie Sanders being a complete kook. 0.96

00:39:55.000 Nut job. 0.96

00:39:56.000 Here he is.

00:39:57.000 I look at climate change almost in military terms.

00:40:00.000 I look at the fact that if we do not significantly reduce carbon emissions, there's going to be massive damage done to our country and this planet.

00:40:07.000 But I have absolute confidence.

00:40:09.000 So you would marshal that kind of resources?

00:40:11.000 I think you've got to look at it almost as a war-like situation.

00:40:14.000 We are being attacked, and the attack is coming from climate change.

00:40:18.000 And you know what that means?

00:40:19.000 That's gonna mean more extreme weather disturbances.

00:40:22.000 Look at what's going on in California in terms of drought.

00:40:25.000 You're gonna have, the CIA tells us, more international conflict as people's fight over limited natural resources.

00:40:33.000 We do have.

00:40:34.000 Now, what really shocks me, and should shock every student here, is you got a Republican Party, with few exceptions,

00:40:42.000 That refuses to even acknowledge the reality of climate change, let alone do something about it.

00:40:47.000 And you know what that's about?

00:40:48.000 It's not that the Republicans don't understand science.

00:40:51.000 It's they are dependent for their campaign contributions on the fossil fuel industries, which takes us to the most important issue, and that is the need to overturn Citizens United and the corrupt campaign finance system.

00:41:04.000 It's a string of utter nonsense.

00:41:06.000 My favorite part there is when he says that we have to fight climate change in military terms.

00:41:10.000 Yeah, that's exactly what we need to do.

00:41:12.000 That's right.

00:41:13.000 We're going to put everybody in barracks and put everybody on rationing to fight climate change, Bernie.

00:41:17.000 And by the way, at a certain point in this campaign, his voice will ultimately give out and he will just be staring at the camera going like this.

00:41:25.000 And waving his arms like a crazy person.

00:41:27.000 Okay!

00:41:27.000 Time for a couple of things that I like and then really no things I hate today.

00:41:32.000 And I'll tell you why in a second.

00:41:33.000 So, a couple of things that I like.

00:41:36.000 Saturday Night Live mocked Hillary Clinton the other day for basically hijacking Bernie Sanders' campaign slogans.

00:41:42.000 Here's what it looked like.

00:41:44.000 Since the beginning of my campaign, I have constantly said we need a revolution in the streets.

00:41:51.000 Millions of people coming together because America should be for everyone, not just a handful of millionaires and billionaires.

00:42:00.000 I know you, millennials.

00:42:02.000 You're fired up.

00:42:04.000 You're angry.

00:42:05.000 And I'm angry, too.

00:42:07.000 Because the top 10% of the top 1% control 90% of the wealth in this country.

00:42:16.000 And I've always said that.

00:42:18.000 Ever since I was a young boy growing up in Brooklyn.

00:42:21.000 Oh, Brooklyn. 0.96

00:42:23.000 And when it comes to that darn Wall Street, I've always believed no bank can be too big to fail, no executive too... You know the rest. 0.97

00:42:32.000 It's that famous mobilizing sentence that works on you guys that I've been saying this whole time. 0.97

00:42:39.000 So thank you, millennials, for lending your support to the biggest outsider Jew in the race. 0.99

00:42:46.000 Hillary Rodham Clinton. 0.99

00:42:49.000 There's a lot of work to be done and that is why I am sick and tired of hearing about my own damn emails! 0.99

00:43:07.000 No more things I like, but I will say one brief note. 0.97

00:43:09.000 So yesterday, and I might as well put this under things I hate, because I really do hate it.

00:43:14.000 Yesterday, I was targeted by Breitbart News very early in the morning by an article that was put under my father's pseudonym.

00:43:22.000 So my dad was a writer for Breitbart News also.

00:43:24.000 He resigned about half an hour after I did on Sunday night. 0.91

00:43:27.000 And they posted an article over at Breitbart News that was an absolute scurrilous hit piece that is ridiculous.

00:43:32.000 I talked about it a little bit on yesterday's show.

00:43:34.000 And they posted it under the byline, William Bigelow.

00:43:37.000 The reason they did that is because my dad's pseudonym over at Breitbart was William Bigelow.

00:43:42.000 And he wrote under a pseudonym for two reasons.

00:43:43.000 One is, if he screwed something up, he didn't want it to blow back on me.

00:43:47.000 He didn't want it to turn into a, okay, we'll get Ben because his dad screwed something up.

00:43:52.000 And two, he never wants his career to conflict with mine.

00:43:54.000 And two, I get lots of death threats and I asked him to write under a pseudonym because I don't want him getting death threats too, because it's just more stuff for us to worry about.

00:44:03.000 I already sleep with a gun by my bed, I didn't feel like he needs to do that too.

00:44:06.000 So Breitbart wrote it under William Bigelow knowing I would then have to talk publicly about who William Bigelow is.

00:44:14.000 It's a nasty, nasty thing to do.

00:44:16.000 I just want to sign off by, and it's even nastier because all I can say about my father is that my father is the most wonderful person that I know.

00:44:24.000 My father is a, you know, obviously aside from my wife and child, my father is an unbelievable human being.

00:44:31.000 Anybody who knows him knows what a wonderful guy my dad is.

00:44:34.000 He cares about everyone.

00:44:35.000 He takes care of everybody.

00:44:37.000 He is a strong believer in the truth and in right and wrong.

00:44:41.000 People don't believe I'm related to him, how warm he is.

00:44:43.000 He's a deeply warm human being.

00:44:45.000 And for Breitbart to target him like that is deeply despicable.

00:44:49.000 But, you know, this is the new American politics, I suppose, where if you cross Donald Trump or any of his allies, then you can expect that sort of thing.

00:44:56.000 That's the thing that I hate for today.

00:44:58.000 That's the thing that I hate for today.

00:45:00.000 I love my father.

00:45:01.000 I love you, Dad.

00:45:02.000 And I find this whole thing utterly reprehensible.

00:45:07.000 And I would hope that we get to a point in our politics where we can stop with this sort of gauche, disgusting nonsense and just get back to, I don't know, how about the ideas?

00:45:17.000 How about the ideas?

00:45:19.000 Is that too much to ask?

00:45:20.000 Well, we'll find out tonight.

00:45:21.000 And tonight's Super Tuesday, so I could come in tomorrow missing a hand because I stuck it in the garbage disposal if Donald Trump won.

00:45:26.000 We'll find out.

00:45:28.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
