00:00:00.000 Today, June 6, 2024, marks the 80th anniversary of the storming of Normandy on D-Day.
00:00:06.000 United States and its allies stormed the beaches of Normandy June 6, 1944.
00:00:10.000 Between that date and the end of the war in the European theater, there were 552,117 American casualties, including 104,812 Americans killed in action.
00:00:14.000 117 American casualties including a hundred and four thousand eight hundred
00:00:18.000 and twelve Americans killed in action. On D-Day alone, this day 80 years ago, some
00:00:24.000 2,501 Americans were killed storming Normandy. So why was the war necessary?
00:00:30.000 I know this seems like a stupid question, but there are a bunch of people today who don't understand why the war was necessary.
00:00:34.000 The answer is because the Nazis were, in fact, an evil regime, hell-bent on global domination with the imposition of their vile system of government and their supremacist ideology on the globe.
00:00:45.000 And as we know, World War II also led directly into the next righteous war, the Cold War, wherein the United States led Free World squared off against the Soviet Union, an empire perhaps even more evil, if possible, than the Nazi Empire.
00:00:57.000 Americans saved the world not once, but twice.
00:01:00.000 It is that simple.
00:01:01.000 Had America not intervened in World War II, the end of the war would have been German domination of the European continent.
00:01:06.000 It was American naval resupply of the United Kingdom that allowed the UK to survive the German Navy's attempted blockade of the island nation, even in the years leading up to the United States' direct entry into the war.
00:01:17.000 Upon learning that the United States was entering the war, Winston Churchill later wrote,
00:01:20.000 being saturated and satiated with emotion and sensation, I went to bed and slept the sleep of the saved and thankful.
00:01:26.000 If the United States had not entered the war, if the U.S.
00:01:27.000 had not entered the war, if the had remained truly neutral in the war, which we were not in the lead-up to World War II because we were involved in making sure that the U.K.
00:01:36.000 was resupplied, the U.K.
00:01:37.000 likely would have been blockaded into starvation and submission.
00:01:40.000 The Nazis would have then turned and cast their eyes east at the Soviet Union, and then they would have poured resources into its submission, and if they didn't have to face the possibility of invasion from the West, they certainly could have won the war in the east.
00:01:51.000 After a period of reconsolidation and strengthening, Hitler's navy would have then extended its sphere of influence across the Atlantic, shutting down all of the trade routes.
00:01:58.000 There was the real possibility of sympathizers in South and Latin America arising.
00:02:02.000 Meanwhile, America would have continued to face the threat of the Japanese in the Pacific.
00:02:07.000 In May 1941, FDR laid out the stakes of the conflict between the United States and Germany.
00:02:11.000 This, of course, is months before the United States entered the war after December 7th, 1941, the attack on Pearl Harbor and the German declaration of war on the United States.
00:02:20.000 Here's what FDR said, quote, The Nazi world does not recognize any god except Hitler.
00:02:25.000 For the Nazis are as ruthless as the communists in their denial of God.
00:02:28.000 What place has religion, which preaches the dignity of the human being, the majesty of the human soul, in a world where moral standards are measured by treachery and bribery and fifth columnists?
00:02:36.000 Will our children, too, wander off goose-stepping in search of new gods?
00:02:41.000 The United States entered the war December 7th, 1941 with Pearl Harbor.
00:02:44.000 The declaration of war came the next day.
00:02:46.000 Germany declared war on the United States on December 11th, 1941.
00:02:49.000 It then took three full years for the United States and our allies to put ourselves in position for the liberation of the European continent across the English Channel.
00:02:58.000 Historians at the US Naval Institute suggested that there had to be four preconditions of a successful amphibious invasion of France.
00:03:04.000 First, naval superiority in the English Channel.
00:03:07.000 Second, air superiority over the landing beaches and well inland.
00:03:11.000 Enough troops to establish a beachhead and then match the enemy's subsequent buildup.
00:03:14.000 And finally, enough shipping and landing craft to carry the troops to the landing points and reinforce them as required.
00:03:19.000 This took a lot of time.
00:03:21.000 There was a full-scale discussion in Casablanca In 1943, about whether D-Day could have been pushed to 1943, Churchill, the UK, they objected.
00:03:29.000 Churchill thought that the last couple of conditions had not been fulfilled.
00:03:32.000 He said, I do not believe 27 Anglo-American divisions are sufficient for Overlord, that's
00:03:36.000 the name of the operation for D-Day, in view of the extraordinary fighting efficiency of
00:03:39.000 the German army and the much larger forces they could so readily bring to bear against
00:03:43.000 our troops, even if the landings were successfully accomplished.
00:03:46.000 By 1944, that had changed.
00:03:48.000 It was go time for the largest amphibious invasion in the history of warfare.
00:03:52.000 Almost 133,000 troops from the United States and our allies landed on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day.
00:03:58.000 Casualties from all of those countries combined during the landing numbered 10,300.
00:04:02.000 10,300. By June 30th, 1944, over 850,000 men, 148,000 vehicles, and 570,000 tons of supplies
00:04:11.000 had landed on Normandy shores. Eisenhower, of course, famously issued a letter to the troops
00:04:17.000 as D-Day was about to happen.
00:04:19.000 And here's what he wrote.
00:04:20.000 soldiers, sailors, and airmen of the Allied Expeditionary Force,
00:04:23.000 who are about to embark upon the Great Crusade. Notice the language,
00:04:27.000 the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months.
00:04:30.000 No embarrassment about the use of Christian terminology here.
00:04:33.000 The eyes of the world are upon you.
00:04:35.000 The hopes and prayers of liberty-loving people everywhere march with you.
00:04:38.000 In company with our brave allies and brothers in arms on other fronts, you'll bring about the destruction of the German war machine, the elimination of Nazi tyranny over the oppressed peoples of Europe, and security for ourselves in a free world.
00:04:48.000 Your task will not be an easy one.
00:04:49.000 Your enemy is well-trained, well-equipped, and battle-hardened.
00:04:52.000 He will fight savagely.
00:04:53.000 But this is the year 1944.
00:04:55.000 Much has happened since the Nazi triumphs of 1940-41.
00:04:58.000 The United Nations have inflicted upon the Germans great defeats in open battle man-to-man.
00:05:02.000 Our air offensive has seriously reduced their strength in the air and their capacity to wage war on the ground.
00:05:06.000 Our homefronts have given us an overwhelming superiority in weapons and munitions of war and placed at our disposal great reserves of trained fighting men.
00:05:13.000 The tide has turned.
00:05:14.000 The free men of the world are marching together to victory.
00:05:17.000 I have full confidence in your courage, devotion to duty, and skill in battle.
00:05:20.000 We will accept nothing less than full victory.

00:08:18.000 So, what exactly was the United States?
00:08:20.000 Well, what were our allies hoping to preserve?
00:08:23.000 Well, first and foremost, we were preserving the interests of the United States and a free West.
00:08:28.000 The religion of the West.
00:08:30.000 Preserving Christian values in the West.
00:08:34.000 The men who stormed the beaches in Normandy, average age about 26 of the men who died in Normandy, were invading on behalf of their families and their country and their churches.
00:08:42.000 They were invading on behalf of the Constitution of the United States and its preservation.
00:08:45.000 They were invading on behalf of Christian values in the face of Nazi paganism.
00:08:49.000 And then they would later fight the Cold War against Marxist paganism on behalf of Christian values.
00:08:55.000 They were the greatest generation in part because they were fighting for the greatest values.
00:08:58.000 In 1984, Ronald Reagan spoke on the 40th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy.

00:09:35.000 And the answer came almost as quickly as I'd asked the question.

00:09:44.000 On the farms, the shops, the stores and the offices.
00:09:49.000 They just are the product of the freest society the world has ever known.
00:09:57.000 Joe Biden arrived in Normandy yesterday.
00:10:01.000 He spoke this morning in Normandy.
00:10:03.000 Here's what President Biden said 40 years after Ronald Reagan on the 80th anniversary of D-Day.
00:10:10.000 We're not far off from the time when the last living voices of those who fought and bled on D-Day will no longer be with us.
00:10:18.000 So we have a special obligation.
00:10:21.000 We cannot let what happened here be lost in the silence of the years to come.
00:10:26.000 We must remember it, must honor it, and live it.
00:10:30.000 We must remember the fact that they were heroes here that day does not absolve us from what we have to do today.

00:10:59.000 Let us be the generation that when history is written about our time, in 10, 20, 30, 50, 80 years from now, it'll be said, when the moment came, we met the moment.

00:11:16.000 We saved democracy in our time as well.

00:11:28.000 The real question for us on the 80th anniversary of D-Day is the question that Reagan asked.
00:11:33.000 Where do we find such men?
00:11:35.000 Because it honestly raises goosebumps to think of the extraordinary heroism and bravery of normal 18, 19-year-old men storming beaches, running uphill into machine gunfire in order to liberate a continent none of them had ever visited.
00:11:52.000 Where do we find such men?
00:11:54.000 And that's a real question.
00:11:56.000 How was the DNA generation raised?
00:11:57.000 Because that has a lot to do, obviously, with the kind of men that are produced in the greatest generation.
00:12:04.000 Well, the answer is they were raised in church.
00:12:06.000 Church membership in 1937 was 73%.
00:12:11.000 96% of Americans, according to Gallup, said they believed in God in 1944.
00:12:15.000 A grand total of 4% of all households in the United States were single-parent families in 1940.
00:12:22.000 In other words, the men of the greatest generation were raised by two parents in church-going families that believed in God.
00:12:29.000 It turns out you cannot raise a great generation in a vacuum of values because you can't raise a great generation without raising a good generation.
00:12:38.000 So how are we doing today?
00:12:40.000 Well, today the American single motherhood rate is 41%, literally 10 times the single motherhood rate in 1937.
00:12:49.000 Only 47% of Americans, a minority of Americans, are members of churches, and of course the churches of today are significantly watered down from the churches of the 1930s and 1940s, which means that a significant percentage of people who consider themselves members of churches aren't actually receiving anything like biblical values.
00:13:06.000 Just 74% of Americans say they believe in God, and many of those Americans are actually quasi-agnostic and believe in something spiritual that doesn't demand anything of them.
00:13:15.000 The United States has spent the four generations since D-Day removing all the supporting institutions of American life, exploding American values in the name of a heedless picture of emotive individualism in which your feelings are all that matters.
00:13:30.000 Because it turns out that going to church instills in you a belief that you are part of something bigger and something more important.
00:13:36.000 Without that, there is no more Greatest Generation, only an obnoxiously self-involved generation.
00:13:42.000 And so I wanna spend some time on what was going on culturally yesterday and today in the country, because it's indicative of where we are.
00:13:51.000 What exactly is the generation that we have raised?
00:13:54.000 What is my generation or my parents' generation?
00:13:57.000 What are those generations?
00:13:59.000 The answer is self-involved, dedicated to the proposition that their feelings are literally the most important things in the world.
00:14:07.000 Built against traditional values and traditional institutions and traditional structures.
00:14:12.000 A generation so eggshell-skulled that a tap on the skull caves it in.
00:14:22.000 To go from the sublime and the dignified to the absolutely ridiculous, but the important.

00:17:27.000 It turns out that a society that's devoted to kids, a society built around raising healthy children is a healthy society.

00:17:41.000 And we are educating our children, what are left of them, in this cult of individual emotivism.
00:17:50.000 This, of course, is Pride Month, the most important month on the calendar.
00:17:53.000 So some of us take, you know, D-Day more seriously than, say, a month devoted to sexual proclivities.
00:18:00.000 But when it comes to the mainstream media and the White House, the reality is that the powers that be in our culture take much more seriously Pride Month than they do the sacrifices of the men who died on D-Day.
00:18:10.000 On a comparative level, I promise you the amount of media coverage for Pride Month, the celebration of Pride Month, is going to be significantly larger over the course of the month than the 80th anniversary of D-Day, which will last in media coverage for approximately a day and a half to remind us that Joe Biden is very old and that we're at war.
00:18:27.000 By proxy in Ukraine and all the rest.
00:18:29.000 And then it'll go away and we'll go back to Pride Month.
00:18:32.000 My California state senator named Scott Wiener, who's an incredible radical leftist on matters sexually related, among others, he gave a rather amazing statement yesterday.

00:18:46.000 Now again, the way we raise our kids is the future of the country.
00:18:48.000 The greatest generation was raised by parents, by someone.
00:18:51.000 Here is how Scott Wiener suggests that we raise our children.

00:18:59.000 These are our kids and we need to make sure that we are lifting them up and giving them a path to success.

00:19:27.000 And of course, our culture has signed into the chat as well, our cultural powers that be.

00:19:34.000 Now, of course, many of us grew up on Star Wars.
00:19:36.000 You know, classic battles of good versus evil, in which, honestly, most of the battles are modeled on World War II air battles, in which the Empire is clearly a stand-in for the Nazis.
00:19:45.000 Well, now, Disney Plus has decided it's time to shift the narrative a little bit.

00:19:51.000 It's time to indoctrinate small children in the cult of Pride Month.

00:19:57.000 So, Amandla Stenberg, who is the lead actress on a new Star Wars series on Disney Plus called The Acolyte, along with Leslie Hedlund, creator and showrunner, explain that The Acolyte, again, a show designed for children, about my kid's age, is the gayest show ever.

00:48:01.000 That the welfare programs that were instituted lowered the curve of economic growth for black Americans.

00:48:12.000 Here is a chart of what single motherhood looks like in the United States from 1952 to 2007.
00:48:17.000 And what you can see here is that single motherhood in the black community in 1952 was in the low 20s in terms of percentage, and today it is in excess of 70%.
00:48:27.000 70% of kids who are born to black families in the United States are born to single mothers today, as opposed to about 20% back in 1952.
00:48:35.000 And you can see the radical spike beginning, wait for it, wait for it, with the beginning of the Great Society programs.
00:48:40.000 You can also see, by the way, that the Great Society programs had an incredibly negative effect on single motherhood literally across the board in the United States.
00:48:46.000 If we get the white non-Hispanic single motherhood rate in the United States in 1952, it was 4-5% maybe.

00:48:57.000 Welfare programs basically destroyed the family structure in the United States.
