00:00:00.000 The face of terror is not the true face of Islam. 1.00
00:00:06.000 That's not what Islam is all about.
00:00:10.000 Islam is peace. 0.93
00:00:13.000 These terrorists don't represent peace.
00:00:17.000 By saying this and many things like it, President Bush essentially defanged the entire Western movement against our actual enemies.
00:00:24.000 Osama bin Laden wrote a letter to America in 2002, and essentially the letter can be broken down into two parts the excuse making and the real reason.
00:00:32.000 The excuse making is about how Muslims everywhere are victims of America.
00:00:37.000 It's not true. 0.97
00:00:37.000 And it's nonsense. 0.97
00:00:38.000 It is factually untrue.
00:00:39.000 It is a victim mentality unsupportable by the evidence.
00:00:43.000 The real reason Osama bin Laden did this is because he was a Muslim fundamentalist who believes that everyone in the world ought to convert to Islam.
00:00:53.000 In his letter to America, he wrote the following Why are we fighting and opposing you?
00:00:57.000 The answer is very simple.
00:00:58.000 Under your supervision, consent, and orders, the governments of our countries, which act as your agents, attack us on a daily basis. 0.98
00:01:04.000 These governments, he's talking about Muslim governments, give us a taste of humiliation and place us in a large prison of fear and subdual. 0.93
00:01:11.000 These governments have surrendered to the Jews and had in them most of Palestine, acknowledging the existence of their state over the dismembered limbs of their own people. 0.99
00:01:19.000 Your forces occupy our countries. 1.00
00:01:20.000 You spread your military bases throughout them.
00:01:22.000 You corrupt our lands. 1.00
00:01:23.000 You besiege our sanctities to protect the security of the Jews and to ensure the continuity of your pillage of our treasures. 1.00
00:01:29.000 You have starved the Muslims of Iraq, where children die every day. 1.00
00:01:33.000 Yet when 3,000 of your people die, the entire world rises and has not yet sat down. 0.93
00:01:37.000 Is it in any way rational to expect that after America has attacked us for more than half a century, that we will then leave her to live in security and peace?
00:01:44.000 So that's part one, the excuse making.
00:01:47.000 As we'll get to, this has become quite popular among a large percentage of Americans.
00:01:51.000 Then there's the actual reason that Osama bin Laden did this.
00:01:54.000 Quote, What are we calling you to?
00:01:56.000 And what do we want from you? 0.98
00:01:58.000 The first thing we are calling you to is Islam, the religion of the unification of God, of freedom from associating partners with him and rejection of this, of complete love of him, the exalted, of complete submission to his laws. 0.84
00:02:10.000 And of the discarding of all the opinions, orders, theories, and religions which contradict with the religion he sent down to his prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him.
00:02:17.000 Islam is the religion of all the prophets and makes no distinction between them, peace be upon them all. 0.99
00:02:22.000 It is saddening to tell you you are the worst civilization witnessed by the history of mankind. 1.00
00:02:26.000 You are the nation who, rather than ruling by the Sharia of Allah and its constitution and laws, choose to invent your own laws as you will and desire.
00:02:34.000 You separate religion from your policies, contradicting the pure nature which affirms absolute authority to the Lord and your Creator. 0.69
00:02:40.000 You flee from the embarrassing question posed to you.
00:02:42.000 How is it possible for Allah the Almighty to create His creation, grant them power over all the creatures and land, grant them all the amenities of life, and then deny them that which they're most in need of, knowledge of the laws which govern their lives? 0.96
00:02:54.000 In other words, Islam as governing philosophy. 0.94
00:02:57.000 That is what He wanted. 1.00
00:02:59.000 That is what He wanted.
00:03:02.000 And He knew one thing.
00:03:03.000 He knew that the West did not have the stones to actually stand up on its hind legs and say that we have a civilization worth preserving and defending, that eventually we would tire. 1.00
00:03:15.000 And we would become stupid. 1.00
00:03:16.000 That was his premise. 1.00
00:03:18.000 He said it out loud in 2010.
00:03:20.000 He said, First of all, I would like to say that your war with us is the longest war in your history and the most expensive for you financially.
00:03:26.000 As for us, we see it as being only halfway finished.
00:03:29.000 If you were to ask our wise thinkers, they would tell you there is no way to win it because the indications are against it.
00:03:33.000 How will you win a war whose leaders are pessimistic and whose soldiers are committing suicide?
00:03:37.000 If fear enters the hearts of men, winning the war becomes impossible.
00:03:40.000 How will you win a war whose cost is like a hurricane blowing violently at your economy and weakening your dollar? 0.89
00:03:47.000 So again, it was a dual purpose approach for Osama bin Laden. 0.87
00:03:50.000 Why was he doing this?
00:03:51.000 Because everybody needed to embrace Islam and the Prophet Muhammad.
00:03:57.000 And then the excuse making, which is that somehow he, a very, very, very wealthy Saudi citizen originally, was somehow a victim of the United States government and the West in general.
00:04:09.000 Here he was in 1997, talking about the supposed predations of the US government.
00:04:16.000 The US government has committed acts that are extremely unjust, hideous, and criminal.
00:04:21.000 Through its support of the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
00:04:25.000 And we believe the US is directly responsible for those killed in Palestine, Lebanon, and Iraq.
00:04:31.000 Due to its subordination to the Jews, the arrogance of the United States regime has reached the point that they occupied Arabia, the holiest place of the Muslims, who are more than a billion people in the world today.
00:04:44.000 For this and other acts of aggression and injustice, we have declared jihad against the US.
00:04:51.000 Now, at this point, we should point out that all of this is nonsense.
00:04:55.000 The United States had, in the decades leading up to 9 11, fought alongside the Mujahideen in Afghanistan to push out the USSR and then withdrawn and the Taliban took over.
00:05:05.000 The United States had intervened in the 90s in the Bosnian Civil War to stop the Bosniak slaughter of Muslims.
00:05:11.000 The United States did the same thing in Kosovo to protect the Muslim Albanian population.
00:05:15.000 The United States had joined with Muslim countries like Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to thwart Saddam Hussein, a supposed secularist, from taking over Kuwait in the First Gulf War.
00:05:24.000 The United States had, over the course of the 1990s, Pressed and forced Israel into a wide variety of territorial concessions to the Palestinian Authority and its arch terrorist leader Yasser Arafat.
00:05:34.000 The United States in the 1980s had withdrawn from Lebanon completely after the murder of Marines by Hezbollah in Lebanon.
00:05:40.000 If anything, American appeasement of Muslims in the Middle East and a desire to work alongside some Muslim state actors led Osama bin Laden to his thesis that America was weak. 0.89
00:05:51.000 After 9 11, many Muslims in the Middle East knew all this and celebrated. 0.84
00:05:55.000 September 12, 2001, here's NBC showing footage of the reaction. to 9-11 in the Gaza Strip.
00:06:02.000 That we're going to show you from the West Bank.
00:06:05.000 These are Palestinian celebrations in the wake of Tuesday's terror attacks in the United States.
00:06:11.000 Apparently, Palestinians took to the street chanting, God is great.
00:06:15.000 People were throwing candy, distributing candy to passers-by.
00:06:19.000 The U.S. government, obviously, has become increasingly unpopular, particularly in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, because Palestinians feel that the U.S. government has sided with Israel.
00:06:34.000 One man, Nawal Abdel Fattah, wearing a long black dress, threw sweets in the air saying, Actually, that's a woman, pardon me, saying she was happy because, quote, America is the head of the snake.
00:06:48.000 Our enemies thought we were weak.
00:06:51.000 They thought that we would blind ourselves to reality.
00:06:53.000 And as it turns out, over the subsequent 25 years, they were not wrong.
00:06:57.000 They were not wrong at all.
00:06:58.000 We'll get some more on this in a moment.
00:06:59.000 First, if you run a business, hiring somebody should be about more than finding the right words on a resume.
00:07:04.000 If somebody wanted to work on this show and then sent over a 30 second sample demonstrating exactly what they could contribute, that would get my attention.
00:07:10.000 They're not simply claiming to be creative or prepared or motivated.
00:07:14.000 They've now provided evidence that this is true.
00:07:16.000 In any hiring process, evidence is generally preferable to self-described adjectives.
00:07:20.000 When you're hiring, it's always helpful to know who really wants the job, but you don't need unusual stunts.

00:08:02.000 Just days after September 11, the President of the United States appeared at the Islamic Center of Washington, flanked by members of groups like the Council on American Islamic Relations, which would later be an unindicted co conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial.
00:08:17.000 And there, he would explain that Islam was a religion of peace. 0.88
00:08:23.000 These acts and violence against innocents violate the fundamental tenets of the Islamic faith.
00:08:33.000 And it's important for my fellow Americans to understand that. 0.55
00:08:38.000 The English translation is not as eloquent as the original Arabic, but let me quote from the Quran itself.
00:08:45.000 In the long run, evil in the extreme will be the end of those who do evil.
00:08:56.000 For that, they rejected the signs of Allah and held them up to ridicule. 0.96
00:09:04.000 The face of terror is not the true faith of Islam. 1.00
00:09:11.000 That's not what Islam is all about.
00:09:14.000 Islam is peace. 0.93
00:09:17.000 These terrorists don't represent peace.
00:09:23.000 By saying this, and many things like it, President Bush essentially defanged.
00:09:27.000 The entire Western movement against our actual enemies.
00:09:29.000 It doesn't mean every Muslim is an enemy of the United States.
00:09:32.000 But if you want to make the argument that our enemies hate American freedom, you need to explain why they hated American freedom and what motivated them. 0.87
00:09:41.000 And that motivation was right there.
00:09:44.000 But instead, President Bush was a believer in a false idea that all human beings all over the planet believe the same kinds of things.
00:09:52.000 And we are all at root exactly the same in our orientation toward the world, which is why at the UN General Assembly in 2004, President Bush incorrectly stated that freedom beats in every human heart.
00:10:02.000 This is untrue.
00:10:04.000 Not every human being on planet Earth is oriented toward freedom the way that Westerners believe in freedom.
00:10:11.000 People everywhere are capable of freedom and worthy of freedom.
00:10:17.000 Finding the full promise of representative government takes time, as America has found in two centuries of debate and struggle.
00:10:26.000 Nor is there only one form of representative government.
00:10:32.000 Because democracies, by definition, take on the unique character of the peoples that create them.
00:10:39.000 Yet this much we know with certainty the desire for freedom resides in every human heart.
00:10:46.000 And that desire cannot be contained forever by prison walls or martial laws or secret police.
00:10:54.000 That was not true, not remotely.
00:10:57.000 Ayan Hirsi Ali, who grew up as a Muslim in a Muslim Brotherhood run system in Kenya, Has a piece at Tablet Magazine talking about Muhammad Atta.
00:11:06.000 Muhammad Atta was one of the hijackers, one of the more famous hijackers, and he left the last will and testament.
00:11:12.000 And that last will and testament did not talk about victimization of Muslims worldwide.
00:11:18.000 All it was, according to Ayan Hirsi Ali, was a young man in a German apartment arranging to sacrifice his life to Allah in the confidence that Allah will reward his martyrdom in the life to come.
00:11:29.000 The will was witnessed by fellow believers at the Al Quds Mosque, where Atta prayed in Arabic, grew his beard, and where four years later he would meet the men he would die with.
00:11:35.000 The document is among his most neglected pieces of evidence from September 11th because it contradicts the explanations of the attack that most Western commentators preferred.
00:11:43.000 Mohammed Atta was not poor.
00:11:45.000 He was not radicalized by drone strikes that had not yet happened, nor by American support for Israel.
00:11:49.000 He was not, in any formal or organizational sense, an Islamist. 0.69
00:11:53.000 Rather, he had an uncompromising and militant commitment to Islam that he was ready to die for. 0.84
00:11:59.000 She talks about being raised as a Muslim in Kenya. 0.95
00:12:01.000 Quote, my teachers also introduced me to the greater enemies of Islam, the great Satan being in the United States of America, and the little Satan being Israel, the Jewish state. 0.89
00:12:08.000 A distinction was made between Israel as a state and Jews, who embodied a type of metaphysical evil. 0.81
00:12:12.000 The Jew was synonymous with the word Satan. 0.99
00:12:14.000 Who's behind all evil things and had designated Islam and Muslims as his enemy, and was hell bent on destroying us all. 1.00
00:12:20.000 In our prayers and in all of our dua is the supplication that God would destroy and eliminate the Jews. 0.98
00:12:25.000 Ayan Hirsi Ali writes Islam is not an Abrahamic faith that functions anything like Protestant Christianity or Rabbinic Judaism.
00:12:32.000 There's no equivalent in Islamic doctrine for such foundational Western concepts as the separation of church and state, secular law, or the idea of individual freedoms and rights, including the freedom to worship freely.
00:12:41.000 Rather, Islam is animated by the beliefs that the Muslim world suffered a historical dispossession with the abolition of the caliphate. 0.75
00:12:47.000 And that this loss must eventually be reversed, including the retaking of all lands that have ever been ruled by Muslims. 0.91
00:12:53.000 In the temporal sphere, Islam as much resembles totalizing and irredentist political ideologies as it does a religion. 0.97
00:12:59.000 In the frame in which both ordinary Muslims and their self-appointed political spokesmen see the world, America and the wider West are not just geopolitical rivals. 0.93
00:13:07.000 They're civilizational obstacles, powers that uphold a secular, liberal, and post-caliphate order that Islamists seek to overcome. 0.95
00:13:15.000 Americans have been lied to.
00:13:16.000 We've been taught the opposite of this for literally a generation.
00:13:19.000 And so now, here is what they think.
00:13:22.000 According to Pew Research polling, in 2002, 23% of Democrats and 32% of Republicans said that Islam was more likely than other religions to encourage violence.
00:13:34.000 That is a rather low percentage, given the facts on the ground across planet Earth.
00:13:39.000 In 2004, 42% of Democrats and 56% of Republicans said that Islam was more likely than other religions to encourage violence.
00:13:49.000 Today, only about a quarter of Democrats consistently say that Islam encourages violence. 0.94
00:13:54.000 More than other religions?
00:13:55.000 Well, about two thirds of Republicans to three quarters say that Islam encourages violence more than other religions.
00:14:02.000 This is what 25 years of propaganda has wrought.
00:14:06.000 Again, this is not saying that every Muslim is violent or every Muslim believes violent things, but to pretend that Islam, as a political governing philosophy or as practiced across planet Earth, is a moderating and liberating force would be to ignore the facts on the ground.
00:14:20.000 What an amazing video you just watched.
