00:00:39.000It wasn't just a sin because it ended with bad public policy, although it did.
00:00:42.000It was a sin because it totally undermined scientific institutions themselves and opened the door to total pseudoscience and then to healing crystals and woo woo wild speculation and total nonsense.
00:00:52.000So, if we're going to ask the question of who killed science, it's Anthony Fauci in the conservatory with the vaccine needle.
00:01:23.000The other night, my wife was watching some trash TV on Netflix and she saw some episode about Usher's house, and there's a giant portrait of Usher on the wall, fulfilling my normal statement about humans.0.99
00:01:32.000If you have a giant portrait of you on the wall of your house, you're a douchebag.0.98
00:01:40.000And that meant he did not follow the data, consider alternatives, or level totally with the public.
00:01:43.000And that killed the American perception of science.
00:01:47.000Anthony Fauci's basic framework was this vaccination for everyone, including pregnant women and children, shutdowns rather than gradual opening, universal masking, social distancing, all until the R went down to zero, the reproduction rate, and the virus died.
00:02:01.000Once he said that masks, vaxxes, and social distancing were good, pretty much universally, he never backed down.
00:02:07.000He still hasn't backed down on a lot of this to this day.
00:02:09.000He lied, he obfuscated, he covered for any serious questions when it inhibited his program.
00:02:14.000And this led to a massive amount of government overreach and then to a massive backlash when the data ended up cutting against him.
00:02:47.000You posit a hypothesis, and then you construct a study to test that hypothesis, and then you examine the results, and then you determine whether your hypothesis is right.
00:02:58.000Well, if science stops following the data, if science stops even acknowledging its own questions for publicity reasons, that is no longer science.
00:03:06.000By the way, if you want to like the full look back on the stuff that Anthony Fauci actually did, you should check out our series, Fauci Unmasked, from a couple of years ago with Michael Knowles, available right now at Daily Wire.
00:03:17.000Okay, so this brings us to the text released by Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, what Anthony Fauci was sending to his friends.
00:03:23.000So, January of 2021, he was texting a friend I asked around a bit more, and another issue came up that you need to be aware of.
00:03:31.000Since many people have significant cytokine storms and fever after the second dose, this theoretically could be associated with miscarriage in the first trimester.
00:03:40.000He was concerned with the possibility that, again, one of the things that happened when you got the vax, I know because I was vaxed, my wife was vaxed.
00:03:48.000When that happened, many people got pretty sick from the vaccination.
00:03:52.000It didn't do much to me, but it knocked my wife flat on her.
00:04:02.000I've been hearing the concern about the mRNA causing mutations in the developing fetus as well.
00:04:06.000That's a really good point regarding the cytokine storm post second dose.
00:04:10.000Okay, so clearly they had some concerns that were percolating about what was going on with the vaccine and pregnancy.
00:04:17.000Hey, the next day he said, I would say that in any vaccine in which data are lacking in pregnant women, One must weigh the potential risks against the benefits.
00:04:25.000COVID 19 can be a serious disease, especially in pregnancy.
00:04:28.000In the vaccine trials, pregnant women were not allowed, but following the EUA, a large number, more than 10,000 pregnant women, have been vaccinated.
00:04:36.000The FDA and ACIP and the ACOG are all permissive for pregnant women to have a choice.
00:04:41.000Animal tox studies did not raise any red flags.
00:04:44.000So that same day, Dr. Murthy wrote back to Dr. Fauci Tony, Rochelle, did you see this announcement today from the WHO saying they advise against pregnant women taking the Moderna vaccine because of lack of data?
00:04:54.000I imagine we will all get asked about this.
00:04:57.000And then he sent over the link on all this.
00:05:00.000And then Murphy wrote back, that's what my sense was as well, Tony, which is why I was surprised to see WHO put out a strong statement saying they do not recommend Moderna in pregnant women.
00:05:08.000That's a strong statement to make and potentially quite damaging to public confidence among pregnant women.
00:05:12.000And so they're having like full conversations about whether or not to recommend the vax, whether this was a concern at all.
00:05:19.000And they did not express any of this concern publicly, any of these open questions.
00:05:22.000They should have said, listen, there are a bunch of varying recommendations.
00:05:25.000For the following reasons, we are suggesting that pregnant women get the vax, but saying that basically there's nothing bad happening.
00:05:33.000He doesn't mention the risk of fever after a second dose or potential for miscarriage, any of the stuff that he was talking about.
00:05:40.000And here's what he actually had to say just a couple of weeks after these texts.
00:05:45.000The FDA, as part of the typical follow up you have following the initial issuing of an EUA, have found thus far, and we've got to be careful, but thus far, no red flags about that, about pregnant women.
00:06:01.000Interestingly, many of the pregnant women were healthcare providers who were exposed.
00:06:07.000To SARS CoV 2 and said, I would rather take my chances with a vaccine than getting infected while I'm pregnant because of the adverse effect and adverse outcome on pregnancy.
00:06:21.000Now, again, what he should have said is we don't have enough data at this point to determine what's going on with the miscarriage possibility or cytokine storms or any of that sort of stuff.
00:06:29.000And of course, he then later sort of repeated this line in August, suggesting that pregnant women should get the vax.
00:06:40.000Well, the data are really very, very strong, Vlad.
00:06:44.000If you look at the tens and tens of thousands of pregnant women who have gotten vaccinated, there's no safety signal of concern at all.
00:06:53.000Balance that against the fact that we absolutely know that when pregnant women who are unvaccinated get infected with SARS CoV 2 and get COVID 19, it is very detrimental, not only to the woman herself, but to the fetus.
00:07:12.000So that's the reason why the recommendation has gone from could get vaccinated to should get vaccinated.
00:07:21.000So if you're going to steel man the case for Fauci here, if you're just going to go out of your way to steel man the case, what you would say is that he had personal doubts.
00:07:27.000He didn't want to express those doubts publicly to undercut the vaccine.
00:07:31.000He did not want to express personal doubts because for him to actually even pose the question publicly would be to undermine his presupposition, which is that everybody needed to get the vaccine.
00:07:43.000Again, Jay Bhattacharya is a person that Fauci personally targeted, Dr. Bhattacharya.
00:07:47.000Again, when we covered COVID for legitimately like a year and a half, when we were covering COVID, Jay Bhattacharya was a repeat guest on the program.
00:07:56.000Dr. Marty McCarrie from Johns Hopkins University.
00:07:57.000These are both members of the Trump administration in Trump, too.
00:08:01.000On the show, we were trying to follow the data at a granular level all the time on the show.
00:09:38.000And again, by July of 2021, Fauci was noting that the vaccinated could continue to transmit the virus to the unvaccinated, but that was months later.
00:09:57.000In Provincetown, for the CDC to take action and change its masking guidance.
00:10:01.000What we did know was how transmissible the virus was among unvaccinated people.
00:10:09.000So it was very clear that when you compared the Delta variant with, for example, the Alpha variant, it was clearly considerably more transmissible.
00:10:20.000The new data show that it is so transmissible that even a vaccinated person who has a breakthrough infection can now transmit it.
00:10:32.000There's a difference between knowing that it's transmissible in general versus it's also transmissible when you have a breakthrough infection of a vaccinated person.
00:10:56.000And earlier than he was willing to say, it was pretty obvious that the vaccines were not preventing transmission.
00:11:01.000So, again, For Fauci, it was always the era in the direction of vaccinate everyone, masking, social distancing, shutdowns of schools, and all of the rest.
00:11:09.000Now, you should be pissed about all of that.
00:11:14.000He lied by omission and all of that, which is why he should go to jail.
00:11:18.000I do need to spend a moment here on what the Fauci text and the scientific data do not show because there's some bad data that's being passed around the internet.
00:11:24.000So there's some data suggesting that there was mass miscarriage thanks to the vaccine.
00:11:53.000That happened a lot during the pandemic.
00:11:55.000And so when the data change, my opinions about the data will also change.
00:11:58.000But I will maintain that any rational society will favor data over gut.
00:12:04.000Will favor actual really well formulated data over your gut.
00:12:07.000If your gut is right, say 60% of the time, and the data is right like 90% of the time, I understand we're pissed the data is wrong 10% of the time.
00:12:14.000But as a general rule, that does not mean that we should trust our gut, which is wrong 40% of the time.
00:12:21.000And again, this is the reason why what Anthony Fauci did was so bad.
00:12:25.000Perhaps the greatest problem with the last several decades of American life is that a bunch of institutions said they were rooting themselves in data and were not.
00:12:33.000And so they blew out the credibility of the institutions.
00:12:36.000And people learned not to trust data at all.
00:12:39.000And so the alternative, as it turns out, was not a better informed set of leaders restoring those institutions.
00:12:46.000So, the problem is not that Fauci said the vaccine didn't cause miscarriage and then it actually caused massive amounts of miscarriage because the vaccine by the data did not cause mass miscarriage.
00:12:54.000And again, I'm going to get into the detailed data in a second.
00:12:56.000The problem is that Fauci had no long term studies on pregnant women getting the vax and then he told women it was basically completely safe.
00:13:03.000He should have erred on the side of caution.
00:13:39.000Preliminary findings did not show obvious safety signals among pregnant persons who received mRNA COVID 19 vaccines.
00:13:44.000However, more longitudinal follow up, including large follow up of numbers of women vaccinated earlier in pregnancy, is necessary to inform maternal pregnancy and infant outcomes.
00:14:34.000This is why there's a phrase when it comes to data analysis called garbage in, garbage out.0.94
00:14:38.000Meaning, if you have a poorly substantiated, a poorly predicated database, what you will get on the other end is also going to be crap.0.63
00:14:45.000And that's what happened in this study.
00:14:46.000So there are almost 4,000 participants.
00:14:49.000And for a 10 week period, sometime during the pregnancies of these women, they measured 827 participants who had finished their pregnancy in that 10 week period.
00:14:58.000So immediately, you are just not following 3,200 participants who originally signed up.
00:15:03.000Of the 827 participants, 712 got a regular birth.
00:15:09.000104 of them, about 12.6%, had miscarriage.
00:15:13.000There was one stillbirth, and there were 10 that were either induced abortion or ectopic pregnancy.
00:15:49.000Now, again, the benchmark for miscarriage in pregnancy is somewhere between 10 and 20%.
00:15:53.000There's not really a great solid statistic because many women will have an early miscarriage and it won't be identified as a miscarriage.
00:15:59.000Some women just don't report it in when they get a miscarriage because they pass the, the, The fetal tissue and all the rest.
00:16:04.000Okay, but this is not like wildly out of bounds with typical miscarriage data, even that study.
00:16:11.000Some people are misreading the study to suggest that something like 80% of people who had the vaccine ended up with miscarriage.
00:16:23.000So Senator Ron Johnson published a letter from an OBGYN named James Thorpe who argued the actual number of miscarriages out of the 827 participants was 82%, because there were 700 women in the study who received their vaccine in the third trimester.
00:16:36.000And therefore, they should be totally excluded from the miscarriage rate that they calculated.
00:16:42.000So, he is dividing the 104 total miscarriages into the 127 women who are vaccinated in the first or second trimester and who also happen to finish their pregnancies in some way by the 10 week checkup.
00:16:53.000So, that's not looking, number one, at the full 4,000 women vaccinated at all points of the pregnancies.
00:16:59.000It is also not looking specifically at the date of the trimester in which people took the vaccine.
00:17:06.000The study's a mess, and it was withdrawn.
00:17:09.000It ended up being withdrawn in October of 2021.
00:17:12.000Specifically, because, quote, no denominator was available to calculate a risk estimate for spontaneous abortions because at the time of this report, follow up through 20 weeks was not yet available for 905 of the 1,224 participants vaccinated within 30 days before the first day of the last menstrual period or in the first trimester.
00:17:28.000So, in other words, there were at least 900 people in that original study group who took the vaccine, the vast majority of whom ended up giving healthy birth, but they weren't included in the sample because they didn't give birth during that 10 week period, that snapshot at the 50 yard line.
00:17:42.000Okay, so the reason I'm bringing this up is because, again, if we are going to recommend following the data, then we should debunk bad interpretation of data.
00:17:53.000There were subsequent studies that actually examined huge numbers of pregnancies.
00:17:58.000There's one study in September 2021 that looked at 100,000 pregnancies and found that COVID vaccines were not associated with an increased risk for miscarriage.
00:18:06.000There's another 2023 study that covered 150,000 pregnancies and found no elevated miscarriage risk either.
00:18:13.000Okay, so in the end, where does all this land us?
00:18:17.000He committed perjury probably on a bunch of, on a bunch of matters ranging from the Wuhan lab leak and gain of function research to what he was saying to the public at the time.
00:18:26.000And he probably committed other crimes too involving governmental abuse, cracking down on the Great Barrington's declaration, going after people who disagreed with him.
00:18:33.000But his biggest crime in generic terms was destroying the very scientific institutions he supposedly wanted to uphold.
00:18:40.000Data is a useful heuristic and those who claim to speak for it have to follow it.
00:18:45.000A heuristic is like a mental shortcut.
00:18:46.000It's what you listen to because you don't have time to actually do the studies yourself.
00:18:50.000The alternative to data is no data, and no data is a horrible heuristic.
00:18:55.000What an amazing video you just watched.
