00:00:00.000 Ron Swanson just called me a homophobe and then said that I'm not masculine or something.
00:00:04.000 And I am so offended.
00:00:06.000 Well, actually, it's the actor, Nick Offerman.
00:00:09.000 And he was on a podcast with some dweeb based on a clip from like 2023.
00:00:13.000 And he said that I'm a homophobe or something.
00:00:15.000 I need to actually play the clip and then I'll just react to it because I find this both stupid and genuinely confusing.
00:00:21.000 But first, apparently, according to page six, Jimmy Kimmel live is going to be, is going to be coming to its terminus.
00:00:31.000 After 24 years on the air, May 2027, it's going to go away.
00:00:36.000 A spokesperson for ABC Entertainment said this information is inaccurate.
00:00:39.000 Any reports about the future of the show are purely speculative.
00:00:43.000 Kimmel signs year to year deals.
00:00:45.000 Now, again, Jimmy Kimmel going away would be a boon for America.
00:00:49.000 Jimmy Kimmel, I'm old enough to remember when Jimmy Kimmel was funny, like when he was actually funny.
00:00:53.000 So I grew up in Los Angeles and he was the sports guy.
00:00:55.000 He was known as Jimmy the Sports Guy on 106.7 K Rock, which my carpool mates used to listen to to my annoyance.
00:01:03.000 But he was easily the funniest thing.
00:01:05.000 On the air is him and Adam Carolla.
00:01:06.000 They were the funniest guys on 106.7.
00:01:10.000 And then he decided to turn into an unfunny woke scold.
00:01:14.000 And he was going to spend his entire life on the air just being as liberal and annoying as possible.
00:01:20.000 And so, for example, during the pandemic, he suggested that the unvaccinated should go ahead and die.
00:01:27.000 And I don't know that I'm going to mourn for the end of his show, will you?
00:01:32.000 That choice doesn't seem so tough to me.
00:01:34.000 Vaccinated person having a heart attack?
00:01:36.000 Yes, come right on in.
00:01:36.000 We'll take care of you.
00:01:38.000 Unvaccinated guy who.
00:01:39.000 Gobbled horse goo.
00:01:41.000 Rest in peace, Wheezy.
00:01:44.000 I mean, rest in peace, Wheezy is pretty astonishing stuff from Captain Sympathy and Empathy over there.
00:01:50.000 He's also called, of course, Melania an expectant widow, which just what a delightful fellow.
00:01:55.000 He did this at the White House Correspondence Dinner.
00:01:58.000 Our First Lady Melania is here.
00:02:00.000 Look at Melania.
00:02:01.000 So beautiful.
00:02:02.000 Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow.
00:02:06.000 The fake White House Correspondence Dinner, obviously.
00:02:09.000 He's just lovely.
00:02:12.000 And of course, You'll never forget Jimmy Kimmel crying over and over and over and over in the most irritating possible fashion.
00:02:12.000 What a lovely person.
00:02:19.000 And whenever he was stuck, he would bring out the tears.
00:02:21.000 Just turn those tears right on.
00:02:28.000 And to the people of Minneapolis, to the Pretty family and the Good family, and these people who were looking out for their neighbors, we want you to know that we are with you and you are not alone.
00:02:49.000 Again, Renee Good was driving a car, obstructing officers, and clipped a cop with her car, an ICE officer with her car.
00:02:59.000 And Alex Pretty had been caught on tape multiple times getting into violent interactions with the cops.
00:03:03.000 So, and Jimmy Kimmel, the fact that he is reaching the.
00:03:09.000 It is just amazing to me that we had several decades where our late night was Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and Stephen Colbert.
00:03:17.000 And that was like the best we had to offer.
00:03:19.000 That was it.
00:03:20.000 Now, speaking of culture and the stupidities thereof, there was a story that involved yours truly that started to go viral yesterday.
00:03:26.000 So there's an actor named Nick Offerman.
00:03:27.000 You remember him.
00:03:28.000 He's Ron Swanson on Parks and Rec.
00:03:30.000 He's actually terrific in a series called Death by Lightning on Netflix, where he plays Chester A. Arthur.
00:03:34.000 Great series.
00:03:35.000 Okay.
00:03:36.000 But apparently he was on some podcast or something and he got very annoyed at me.
00:03:41.000 Very annoyed at me based on a clip from three years ago in which I was talking about an episode of The Last of Us.
00:03:48.000 He was nominated for an Emmy for this episode.
00:03:51.000 of The Last of Us.
00:03:52.000 So frankly, I don't remember what I said three years ago.
00:03:55.000 So why don't we assess what I said three years ago and whether I am right or whether I am wrong about this episode of The Last of Us that apparently makes me a vicious, terrible homophobe or something.
00:04:03.000 Ben Shapiro has, has gone on the record to talk, um, in interesting terms about you and your work in that show.
00:04:11.000 And, uh, I suspect there are people back home who saw this clip.
00:04:15.000 And so I want our viewers to see it as well.
00:04:18.000 This is Ben Shapiro.
00:04:19.000 So the entire plot of the episode is that Ron Swanson, Nick Offerman, but he actually plays Ron Swanson, but Ron Swanson, who likes to nail dudes.
00:04:27.000 So, Ron Swanson, a libertarian who hates the government and lives in his basement and is a prepper, but also is gay.
00:04:35.000 Ron Swanson, during the zombie apocalypse, he's having himself a grand old time.
00:04:37.000 For some reason, his town is completely not hit by any of the zombies at all.
00:04:40.000 It's like completely left alone.
00:04:42.000 And so, he goes out and gets all these resources and then he builds a nice fence around his place and he sets up all of these booby traps.
00:04:48.000 So, if anybody shows up, whether they're raiders, whether they're zombies, they're going to get killed.
00:04:51.000 And then, somehow, another dude ends up like falling into one of his traps.
00:04:57.000 And they meet and they bang and they end up becoming a couple.
00:05:02.000 Okay, so you can see it here, right?
00:05:08.000 There's gay Ron Swanson, and it's complete with like sex scenes and the whole thing.
00:05:13.000 And the entire episode has no zombies, no real threat, and it is about two gay dudes who meet and have a relationship in which one grows strawberries for the other.
00:05:31.000 And then they die, but not being killed by zombies or under threat.
00:05:36.000 One dies, he gets cancer, and he decides to essentially euthanasia himself.
00:05:42.000 And Gay Ron Swanson decides that he is also going to commit suicide at the same time because Romeo and Juliet or Romeo and Romeo in this particular case.
00:05:50.000 Okay, so I'm right.
00:05:53.000 That's what the episode's about.
00:05:55.000 And what I went on to say is it's a bizarre episode because, again, The Last of Us is not Brokeback Mountain.
00:06:00.000 The Last of Us is.
00:06:01.000 A zombie show.
00:06:02.000 And again, the politics of Left of Us are very much to the left.
00:06:05.000 There's like a trans character in the show and all that.
00:06:07.000 My only point was this episode is a complete digression from the entire plot line of the show, which again, the director and producers admitted that they just wanted to put sort of a gay romance in the middle of the show.
00:06:18.000 Apparently, because I accurately described the plot of the episode, this makes me a homophobe.
00:06:23.000 And also, he says I was ripping into his masculinity or something, which I don't know why he's being homophobic.
00:06:27.000 Me saying that you're a dude who wants to bang dudes, I didn't actually challenge your masculinity.
00:06:31.000 I don't know why you're saying that that's non masculine.
00:06:34.000 Nick Offerman, I don't know what you have against gay people that somehow dudes who want to bang dudes are unmasculine or something.
00:06:40.000 Like, I'm just wondering what in that clip was quote unquote homophobic.
00:06:45.000 Seriously, what in the clip was homophobic in any way?
00:06:48.000 It would have been totally bizarre, by the way, for there to be an episode involving, say, an old man and an old woman meeting, falling in love, and then dying of cancer in the middle of a zombie show.
00:06:59.000 It would have been strange.
00:07:01.000 So that was my entire take on that.
00:07:03.000 We'll get to more on this in a second.
00:07:04.000 First, let's be real.
00:07:06.000 You need to sleep better.
00:07:07.000 We all need to sleep better.
00:07:08.000 Okay.
00:07:09.000 When it comes to what's going on right now in my home, sleep is hard to come by because my wife is nursing the baby.
00:07:14.000 We're getting the baby to bed late.
00:07:15.000 And once I get on the mattress, I need to go to sleep.
00:07:18.000 I don't need to roll around.
00:07:19.000 I need to feel uncomfortable.
00:07:20.000 I need to go to sleep.
00:07:21.000 And this is why I rely on my Helix sleep mattress because, again, it was programmed just for me.
00:07:26.000 Their quick sleep quiz considers your sleep position, comfort preferences, and support needs, and then matches you with one of more than 20 mattress models.

00:07:47.000 You know, the fact is that, again, Your mattress matters a lot.
00:07:51.000 You want better sleep quality?
00:07:52.000 Start with the thing you are lying on for eight hours a night.
00:07:55.000 Go to helixleep.comslash Ben.
00:07:57.000 Get 27% offsite wide during Helix's Labor Day sale.
00:08:00.000 Again, that's helixleep.comslash Ben.
00:08:02.000 Get a mattress made just for you.
00:08:04.000 27% offsite wide during their Labor Day sale.
00:08:06.000 That's helixleep.comslash Ben.
00:08:08.000 And I also pointed out in that clip that it's hard to think of a less important story in the middle of a zombie apocalypse than a relationship incapable of producing another generation.
00:08:20.000 Because again, the entire question of a zombie apocalypse is, Is there another generation of humans?
00:08:24.000 And so, two people meeting, not being able to have kids, and then dying, not involving zombies, is a digression, just in terms of plots.
00:08:32.000 It's a digression.
00:08:33.000 But apparently, this makes me a vicious homophobe, and Nick Offerman is going to call me out.
00:08:37.000 Nick Offerman, all right, dude, whatever.
00:08:40.000 Well, that's crazy.
00:08:42.000 That's the most Ben Shapiro I've ever seen.
00:08:44.000 And there's a very good reason for that.
00:08:49.000 I mean, I don't know what to say.
00:08:53.000 I'm embarrassed for his reading comprehension.
00:08:55.000 He got, I think he got eight things wrong in his recap.
00:08:59.000 Okay, pause it there for a second.
00:09:00.000 First of all, that's not how reading comprehension works.
00:09:02.000 In order to have reading comprehension, you have to read something.
00:09:05.000 You can't watch a TV show and then have bad reading comprehension, even if you misdescribe the plot.
00:09:11.000 That's not a reading comprehension problem because you're not reading.
00:09:15.000 That's how reading works.
00:09:18.000 But tell me more, intelligent man Nick Offerman.
00:09:20.000 Go.
00:09:24.000 His rampant homophobia.
00:09:27.000 But why don't you go?
00:09:29.000 I don't spend a ton of time with Ben Shapiro.
00:09:31.000 That was insane.
00:09:33.000 And why are you like, you seem completely in shock watching that.
00:09:37.000 It was great.
00:09:38.000 I had read that somewhere.
00:09:39.000 Like I read what Ben Shapiro said.
00:09:42.000 Gay Ron Swanson.
00:09:44.000 Then I wrote a song that I was performing on tour.
00:09:50.000 And I would preface it by saying, I was going to write a joke about this, but Ben Shapiro questioned my masculinity.
00:10:01.000 And I can't write a better joke than that.
00:10:04.000 One of my favorite things when people say they have no idea who I am, they've never listened to me.
00:10:09.000 But also, he did a tour in which he literally put my name in his jokes, but he's never heard of me.
00:10:15.000 Again, I'm just so confused.
00:10:18.000 What in that clip is homophobic?
00:10:20.000 There is nothing homophobic about that clip.
00:10:22.000 That is me accurately describing the plot.
00:10:25.000 And I mean, I hate to break it to Nick Offerman, but gay guys are dudes who bang dudes.
00:10:31.000 That's literally the definition.
00:10:34.000 It's not homophobic.
00:10:34.000 And straight people, if you're a dude, are dudes who like to bang ladies.
00:10:40.000 I know these like basic, basic things, but we're now living in a universe where if I say that, like if I, if I just describe things in the world, apparently it's a form of discrimination.
00:10:50.000 Now, if I say that gay dudes are dudes who like to bang dudes, then, uh, this is homophobia.
00:10:55.000 If I say that men who like to bang ladies are called straight men, I don't even know what that is.
00:11:00.000 Is that straight phobia?
00:11:00.000 Cause it's true.
00:11:02.000 Um, and apparently we also live in a universe in which There shouldn't be letters in our precious algebra equation.
00:11:07.000 So, like, everything is getting stupider at increasingly rapid rates.
00:11:11.000 Idiocracy is upon us.
00:11:12.000 We'll let Nick Offerman finish his disquisition here.
00:11:14.000 And again, I have to point out he says that his entire joke was me questioning his masculinity.
00:11:21.000 Nowhere in that clip did I question Nick Offerman's masculinity.
00:11:23.000 So, I have to ask him, why are you questioning your own masculinity based on playing a powerful gay man?
00:11:31.000 What are you saying that you were being effeminate or unmasculine in some way?
00:11:34.000 Because I didn't say that.
00:11:35.000 Are you saying that, Nick Offerman?
00:11:38.000 If so, let's check your homophobia a little bit, Nick Offerman.
00:11:42.000 That is so powerful.
00:11:43.000 That's like a Joe Rogan clip or something that's just so dumb and so wrong.
00:11:50.000 But then it's really upsetting to understand how powerful that probably is and how many people.
00:11:55.000 It's reached.
00:11:58.000 By the way, who is this dork co host?
00:12:02.000 I'll challenge this guy's masculinity.
00:12:03.000 Who's this guy?
00:12:07.000 Honestly, who's this person and why is his hair like that?
00:12:11.000 Okay, anyway, from our cultural betters.
00:12:15.000 Okay, if that's what you got for controversy today, I guess people need to cover something, I suppose.
00:12:22.000 And meanwhile, in funny news, the South Park creators, I have to admit, this is very funny.
00:12:26.000 They have changed the name of South Park to South America.
00:12:31.000 They're joking about President Trump naming everything after America.
00:12:33.000 Quote Following their Emmy win for outstanding animated program, South Park is making a big change.
00:12:38.000 Creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone announced, inspired by the bravery and patriotism of Apple and Google, Who changed the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America, which is stupid.
00:12:46.000 We are changing the name of South Park to South America.
00:12:50.000 We especially want to thank our parent company, Paramount, a Skydance capitulation.
00:12:54.000 Again, Paramount is, um, is putting it up, so they don't care.
00:12:56.000 The 29th season of the award-winning series will premiere Wednesday, September 16th.
00:13:01.000 New episodes will be available to stream on Paramount Plus around the world with next day availability in the U.S., Canada, and Australia.
00:13:07.000 So they're renaming it South America, which is funny.
00:13:09.000 Okay.
00:13:10.000 Hey, that, see, that I think is funny.
00:13:11.000 All right.
00:13:12.000 What an amazing video you just watched.
00:13:14.000 Wasn't that amazing?
