00:01:28.000 And say my name, Ben Shapiro, to get started with Pure Talk USA.
00:01:32.000 Alrighty.
00:01:33.000 Last night, we learned kind of what Joe Biden and the Democrats and his entire administration think the military is for.
00:01:40.000 And apparently it is for two things.
00:01:42.000 One is nuking Americans.
00:01:44.000 And the second is critical race theory.
00:01:46.000 I'm not sure what else I'm supposed to take away from the news cycle yesterday, given the fact that the sitting president of the United States, and when I say sitting, I mean that very literally.
00:01:55.000 I mean, he has a house plan.
00:01:56.000 He is just sitting there.
00:01:57.000 He is not mentally able.
00:01:59.000 He is not with us.
00:02:00.000 He's not been with us for quite some time.
00:02:02.000 He was trying to make the case that the big spike in crime that we have seen over the course of the last year has nothing to do with lack of police and everything to do with guns.
00:02:10.000 So as we'll discuss in a little bit, he's been making the pitch that we need to get rid of guns in American society to lower crime, which is kind of an amazing contention, given the fact that we now have more guns in circulation than we've had any time in American history.
00:02:20.000 And everything was going pretty swimmingly up until the time the Democrats decided that it would be great to foment riots in America's major cities and undercut the police.
00:02:28.000 But in any case, Joe Biden then made a sort of peculiar argument.
00:02:31.000 He was talking about people who believe in the Second Amendment as a form of defense against the infringement of your rights by the government, which of course was the original purpose of the Second Amendment.
00:02:40.000 I mean, the Second Amendment's text says pretty much as much.
00:02:44.000 The Second Amendment's text suggests that in order to defend your rights, you're going to be able to keep and bear arms, right?
00:02:50.000 A well-regulated militia, not meaning regulated by the state, a well-regulated, meaning a practiced militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
00:02:59.000 It's right in the amendment.
00:03:01.000 There's the prefatory clause, which is all about the rationale for having arms, and it is all about preserving the freedom of the state, preserving your freedom against the government, right?
00:03:10.000 And so a lot of people, like me, have made the argument that one of the reasons why you need an armed population is to provide a deterrent against the government invading your rights.
00:03:19.000 It's one of the good things about having an armed population is that the government can't get too much over its skis without running pretty headlong into a population that is unhappy with that government.
00:03:28.000 And that makes the government think twice about whether they, in fact, want to go to war with their own citizens.
00:03:32.000 According to Joe Biden, however, all of this is is nugatory.
00:03:36.000 It doesn't make any difference because in the end, we could just nuke you.
00:03:41.000 Now, I'm old enough to remember when Eric Swalwell said the same thing.
00:03:44.000 Eric Swalwell, who was at one point sleeping with a Chinese spy, apparently, but that's beside the point.
00:03:50.000 Joe Biden seems to think this is an intelligent point because he's made it several times in the past, and it continues to be astonishingly idiotic on a wide variety of levels.
00:03:58.000 But the basic notion that you should respond to any question in American politics with, well, you know, the government could just nuke you.
00:04:05.000 I think I want a gun now.
00:04:07.000 Like, really, if the case that you're making is that you should not own guns because your government could just kill you.
00:04:15.000 I'm pretty sure now I want guns more than I did before you just said that, Joe Biden.
00:04:20.000 That is a galaxy brain take here from a man whose synapses stopped firing long ago.
00:04:25.000 Here is the president of the United States who's looking more and more these days like one of those Shia pets, like the hair plugs are all that's left atop.
00:04:34.000 It's just, it's not a good look.
00:04:35.000 Here's the president of the United States.
00:04:39.000 Those who say the blood of the, the blood of patriots, you know, and all the stuff about how we're going to have to move against the government.
00:04:47.000 Well, the tree of liberty is not water in the blood of patriots.
00:04:50.000 What's happened is that there never been, if you wanted to think you need to have weapons to take on the government.
00:04:57.000 You need F-15s and maybe some nuclear weapons.
00:05:00.000 You know the United States has ever otherwise will, will like just drive F-15s and we'll drive them over your borders and then we'll just drop some boom.
00:05:08.000 I like explosions.
00:05:11.000 Well done, Mr. President.
00:05:16.000 By the way, I do love—it is fairly amazing how inconsistent the arguments are from people like Joe Biden on this sort of stuff.
00:05:23.000 You'll recall that simultaneously, the President of the United States is arguing that it would make no difference if the population is armed because obviously we can just send F-15s to nuke your hometown and, you know, kill all the civilians in your area and do all—like, All right, man, Captain Human Rights over here.
00:05:40.000 But not only that, this is the same person who continues to argue, and the entire Democratic Party and media continue to argue that on January 6th, we were this close to the overthrow of the American democracy.
00:05:50.000 The American experiment was this close to being, like, it was really a close call thing when a bunch of idiot droogs decided to run into the Capitol building.
00:05:58.000 Not one of those idiot droogs actually in the Capitol building was arrested with a gun, so far as I'm aware at this point.
00:06:05.000 Okay, there's been one per- there have been, I think, three people charged with firearms related to the Capitol riots.
00:06:11.000 One was on the Capitol grounds, right outside the building.
00:06:15.000 One had been, like, planning with guns but didn't actually show up.
00:06:18.000 And one was outside in a truck with, like, a Molotov cocktail.
00:06:21.000 But apparently a bunch of citizens who are not armed with guns came this close to completely overrunning the most powerful military state in the history of mankind.
00:06:30.000 So recognize the relative inconsistency here.
00:06:33.000 According to Joe Biden, an entirely armed population with AR-15s couldn't take on the federal government.
00:06:38.000 But a bunch of morons wearing MAGA hats could take over the entire federal government by walking through the front doors carrying clubs.
00:06:47.000 I'm not sure I see the consistency here.
00:06:50.000 OK, but on a deeper level, the way that Joe Biden sees the government is sort of betrayed by what he says here.
00:06:56.000 You need to and it's it's true.
00:06:58.000 You need to listen to the government because the government could just kill you.
00:07:02.000 You don't need X, Y, or Z tool, because after all, you can't resist the government if the government decides to invade your rights.
00:07:08.000 So really, you're just dependent on the government being nice to you.
00:07:12.000 And what the military is for is to deter American citizens.
00:07:15.000 The American military is there to effectively enforce the leftist prerogatives.
00:07:20.000 Imagine if Donald Trump had threatened to nuke American citizens.
00:07:24.000 It was bad enough when he threatened to quote-unquote nuke a hurricane, right?
00:07:26.000 This is a big national story.
00:07:27.000 You have the current president of the United States saying this, and he said this over the years many times, that, you know, you don't need guns because absolutely we could just nuke you.
00:07:36.000 And everybody just doesn't bat an eye.
00:07:37.000 Because in the view of the left, the notion of the American government nuking its own citizenry is such a natural corollary of the fact that the federal government is supposed to run your life.
00:07:45.000 So apparently the military is for two things.
00:07:47.000 One is nuking American citizens who refuse to go along with the program and are armed.
00:07:52.000 And the second thing, of course, the military is there in order to effect social change.
00:07:57.000 On the list of things that the military is there to do, teach gay rights, push racial radicalism, Not defend the nation, really.
00:08:05.000 We need to get rid of a lot of the funding.
00:08:08.000 And let's face it, America's history of military conquest, imperialism, and colonialism is just horrifying, according to the left.
00:08:13.000 But the military exists there to deter American citizens from doing bad stuff, which, again, is sort of illegal under the Posse Comitatus Act.
00:08:19.000 And also, It is there to affect social change from one of our great national institutions.
00:08:26.000 We'll get to that aspect of the military in just one second.
00:08:29.000 First, let's talk about the fact that you should always be prepared in the case of an emergency.
00:08:32.000 If 2020 is like anything, is that it is pretty good to be prepared in your home in case, God forbid, something goes wildly wrong.

00:09:32.000 All righty.
00:09:32.000 So military is there for two purposes.
00:09:35.000 One, of course, is to possibly nuke the American citizens who have the temerity to be armed.
00:09:39.000 I also love the assumption here by Joe Biden that if it came down to the American military going to war with its own citizens, members of the military would just take the order and start murdering American citizens willy nilly.
00:09:49.000 I have some doubts about that one.
00:09:51.000 But the other thing that the military is there to do is affect social change.
00:09:54.000 Now, here I have to make a large scale distinction.
00:09:57.000 Between the on-the-ground soldiers, between the people who serve in the military at a lower level, and the political generals.
00:10:03.000 This has always been true.
00:10:04.000 It is true in nearly every arena of public life.
00:10:06.000 It's true for cops and police chiefs, for example.
00:10:08.000 There are many police officers all around the nation who wildly disagree with the politicization of their police departments and the use of their police departments to ground down policy that is bad.
00:10:18.000 You see this in major Americans.
00:10:19.000 I talk to cops all the time who disagree with the people who very often reach the top echelons of police work because in order to become police chief in a major city, you have to kiss a lot of ass and you have to do a lot of political manipulation.
00:10:31.000 Well, same thing is true if you are to become a four star general.
00:10:34.000 If you talk to people who are sort of serving in the mid ranks, if you're talking to colonels, you're talking to captains, you're talking to sergeants, if you're talking to any other officer rank, even low level generals who have not reached sort of the highest levels, they will tell you that there is a group of political generals.
00:10:49.000 And in order to get there, I mean, this is true in literally any company and it's true in the military as well.
00:10:53.000 In order to get there, you have to politically maneuver and kiss a lot of butt.
00:10:57.000 And you have to make sure that you're mirroring the priorities of the political branches of the United States government.
00:11:02.000 Or at least you think you do if you want to get ahead.
00:11:05.000 Which is why we saw yesterday the bizarre spectacle of the U.S.' 's top military leader, Army General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, basically getting angry at lawmakers for asking about the sort of ideology being taught to soldiers in the United States Army.
00:11:23.000 Because the reality is that if you look at the recommended reading list for the US military right now, it is filled with woke crap.
00:11:31.000 It really is.
00:11:32.000 Hey, so here is General Milley suggesting that you can't, don't call the military woke.
00:11:39.000 We're not, we're not woke.
00:11:40.000 We're just teaching wokeness, but we're not, we're not woke.
00:11:42.000 And if you ask questions, it's unpatriotic.
00:11:44.000 Now the left has jumped on this because the left, which has spent pretty much of its entire existence declaring the United States military an armed wing of US imperialism and colonialism, which has declared the US military one of the worst institutions on the planet.
00:11:58.000 Now the left is saying it's unpatriotic if you point out that US military is being used as an engineer of social change in a really deleterious way to both military morale and to the country's future.
00:12:09.000 Here is a General Mark Milley in defense, however.
00:12:12.000 I personally find it offensive that we are accusing the United States military, our general officers, our commissioned, non-commissioned officers of being quote woke or something else because we're studying some theories that are out there.
00:12:24.000 That was started at Harvard Law School years ago, and it proposed that there were laws in the United States, antebellum laws, prior to the Civil War, that led to a power differential with African Americans that were three-quarters of a human being.
00:12:38.000 Okay, so this is the part where it's pretty wild, right?
00:12:50.000 So you see how what Milley is doing, he's hiding behind these other soldiers.
00:12:53.000 And how dare you call that sergeant woke?
00:12:55.000 I'm not calling that sergeant woke, I'm saying that you are teaching wokeness in the United States military when you assign Ibram X. Kendi as recommended reading.
00:13:02.000 And Michelle Alexander has recommended reading.
00:13:04.000 You know it's on the military's recommended reading list?
00:13:05.000 I took a look at this yesterday.
00:13:06.000 Now, it's not... So Milley, frankly, was not telling the truth here.
00:13:11.000 Okay, so he was not telling the truth for a couple of things.
00:13:12.000 One, all Americans, for a long time, have known about things like slavery and the Three-Fifths Clause and the Civil War.
00:13:20.000 They've known about Jim Crow.
00:13:22.000 We've known about the Civil Rights Act.
00:13:23.000 This has been taught in every history class in the United States since I was a child.
00:13:27.000 And I was a child, now, kind of a long time ago.
00:13:30.000 At least 20 years ago.
00:13:32.000 It was taught to my parents when they were post-college, right?
00:13:35.000 I mean, like, the notion that Americans just don't know about things like slavery or that you need critical race theory in order to teach this, it's a lie.
00:13:43.000 He's conflating what normal American history is and how it should be taught with critical race theory, which suggests that every institution of the United States is rife with racism and rooted in racism and inextricably intertwined with racism.
00:13:57.000 This is a game that the critical race theory proponents like to play.
00:14:00.000 It's this Mott and Bailey game, where if you actually call out what critical race theory is, they just go, oh, no, no, we're just trying to teach regular American history.
00:14:06.000 And you know, it's just a legal analytical tool.
00:14:08.000 Okay, first of all, if critical race theory is an analytical tool, it's the crappiest analytical tool of all time.
00:14:13.000 The worst kinds of analytical tools are single lens analytical tools.
00:14:17.000 What I mean by that is there is no good analysis that is a single factor analysis.
00:14:20.000 There is no one skeleton key that unlocks any issue.
00:14:24.000 It's true with regard to your life.
00:14:26.000 It is true with regard to politics.
00:14:28.000 If you look at anything just through one lens, you are likely to get it completely wrong.
00:14:32.000 What critical race theory does is it says that all other sort of intervening effects that have led to inequality of outcome are irrelevant.
00:14:40.000 Racism is the only thing that could lead to any sort of inequality of outcome.
00:14:44.000 That doesn't make it an analytical tool.
00:14:46.000 It's the opposite of a tool.
00:14:47.000 It is a weapon.
00:14:47.000 It's a weapon to be used against the systems itself.
00:14:49.000 And the people who created the system admit as much.
00:14:52.000 I read to you from Richard Delgado and Gina Stefanczyk, two of the founders of Critical Race Theory, who openly say this stuff.
00:14:57.000 Okay, so Mark Milley is not telling you the truth.
00:14:59.000 He is lying here.
00:15:00.000 Okay, and then he continues, he says, you know, how dare you call the military woke?
00:15:05.000 You can't call the military woke.
00:15:06.000 I just want to understand white rage.
00:15:09.000 I'm pretty sure now you're just speaking wokeness here.
00:15:14.000 The United States Military Academy is a university.
00:15:17.000 And it is important that we train and we understand.
00:15:20.000 And I want to understand white rage.
00:15:23.000 And I'm white.
00:15:24.000 And I want to understand it.
00:15:25.000 So what is it that caused thousands of people to assault this building?
00:15:31.000 and try to overturn the Constitution of the United States of America.
00:15:34.000 What caused that?
00:15:35.000 I want to find that out.
00:15:36.000 Okay, this is propagandistic.
00:15:38.000 I mean, like, really, that's insane.
00:15:40.000 This is the leading military man in the United States government explaining he wants to check into the roots of white... But don't worry, he's not woke, guys.
00:15:47.000 And if you call him woke, and if you suggest that he's promoting this woke garbage, then there's something wrong with you.
00:15:51.000 You're being unpatriotic.
00:15:52.000 So wokeness is now patriotism, which is incredible because wokeness is overtly anti-patriotic.
00:15:57.000 Wokeness is about undermining the fundamental basis of the United States, saying that the Declaration is a lie, saying the Constitution is a lie, saying the institutions of the United States are mere facades for hierarchies of power instituted in order to subjugate black Americans.
00:16:11.000 And this guy's sitting there being like, and if you challenge me on this, you're unpatriotic.
00:16:15.000 Unreal.
00:16:16.000 Unreal.
00:16:17.000 I want to understand why.
00:16:18.000 But don't worry, we're not indoctrinating the soldiers and people in our military, the people who ought to be the most patriotic, considering they are literally putting their lives on the line for the institutions wokeness is trying to eviscerate.
00:16:30.000 If you say that he's doing something wrong, that means that you are unpatriotic.
00:16:33.000 By the way, other books besides Ibram X. Kendi include Sexual Minorities in Politics by Jason Pierson, which casts any opposition to the LGBT agenda items as grounded and animus.
00:16:43.000 I mean, it's very open in the introduction of this book and promotes Michel Foucault's attempted obliteration of the private-public distinction, saying that your sex life is basically public policy.
00:16:53.000 Also, Michelle Alexander's new Jim Crow, which suggests that racial differentials and arrest statistics are solely due to the fact that policing in the United States is racist.
00:17:02.000 That is recommended in the military reading list.
00:17:06.000 But don't worry, they're not in dog.
00:17:07.000 And if you if you challenge, how dare you challenge Sergeant Bill over here?
00:17:10.000 I'm not challenging, challenging Sergeant Bill.
00:17:12.000 I'm saying you are a political general who is doing the bidding of the Biden administration, period.
00:17:16.000 End of story.
00:17:18.000 That is not a challenge to his courage in combat.
00:17:21.000 I don't know his actual combat record or anything.
00:17:24.000 I assume that it is better than mine.
00:17:25.000 I'm not in the military.
00:17:27.000 It's not challenging what he has done for the country.
00:17:30.000 It's challenging what he is doing right now as a political general.
00:17:33.000 And that is what he is.
00:17:34.000 Once you're at the top, you're inherently political.
00:17:36.000 In a second, we'll get to more of this, what the military is for.

00:18:47.000 Okay, so Mark Milley continues along these lines.
00:18:50.000 First he says, I'm insulted that you're calling the military woke.
00:18:53.000 No, just you and the infrastructure that's pushing this stuff.
00:18:56.000 And then he immediately starts citing woke talking points about white rage.
00:18:59.000 By the way, notice how he just slides in there.
00:19:01.000 I want to understand what happened on January 6th.
00:19:03.000 Okay, the white rage talking point?
00:19:05.000 That this is just a bunch of white racists who invaded the Capitol on January 6th?
00:19:09.000 There may have been, and there were, some white racists who invaded the Capitol.
00:19:12.000 Also, I assume there were just a bunch of people who were pissed off about the election, but weren't actually members of neo-Nazi groups.
00:19:18.000 But again, there's no evidence necessary in order to declare anything in American life racist.
00:19:22.000 I mean, we're doing this whole quote-unquote racial reckoning on the false basis that Derek Chauvin murdered George Floyd because he was a racist when not a single iota of evidence was brought to that effect.
00:19:32.000 Okay, and then Mark Milley does the Martin Bailey routine.
00:19:35.000 What's wrong with trying to teach members of our military about our country?
00:19:39.000 It's just regular history.
00:19:41.000 No, it is not regular history.
00:19:43.000 It is history that is twisted and perverted And in many cases ignored in order to provoke the notion that America is a very, very bad place.
00:19:50.000 Why would you possibly teach that to members of the military?
00:19:53.000 You may have noticed that when it comes to real politic, world power, it's a zero sum game.
00:19:58.000 Do you think members of the Chinese military today are learning about the historic evils of even the malice regime?
00:20:03.000 I have serious doubts.
00:20:04.000 Do you think that the members of the Russian military are sitting around learning about the evils of the Russian system?
00:20:12.000 I don't think so.
00:20:13.000 But this is what the military is for.
00:20:14.000 It's for social engineering.
00:20:15.000 Here's Mark Milley pushing it.
00:20:17.000 I want to maintain an open mind here, and I do want to analyze it.
00:20:20.000 It's important that we understand that because our soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines and guardians, they come from the American people.
00:20:26.000 So it is important that the leaders now and in the future do understand it.
00:20:31.000 I've read Mao Zedong.
00:20:33.000 I've read I've read Karl Marx.
00:20:35.000 I've read Lenin.
00:20:36.000 That doesn't make me a communist.
00:20:37.000 So what is wrong?
00:20:39.000 with understanding, having some situational understanding about the country for which we are here to defend.
00:20:45.000 OK, but here is the thing.
00:20:46.000 OK, this is such a look at the look at the sort of sophistry here.
00:20:50.000 Yes, he's read Mao to oppose it.
00:20:52.000 He's read Lenin to oppose it.
00:20:54.000 He didn't read it as like, well, maybe we should actually take seriously the protestations of Lenin and then maybe we should, you know, see our country in the way Lenin saw our country.
00:21:03.000 There's a reason that Mao and Lenin are not on the recommended reading list of the United States military, because there are certain ideologies that run directly counter to the basic notions that Americans are fighting for when they join the American military.
00:21:15.000 Among those notions are identity politics, and yes, critical race theory, and yes, communism, which is why none of those should be on the recommended reading list for members of the American military.
00:21:24.000 This is insanity.
00:21:26.000 The American military is not a place where you are supposed to be exploring your beliefs on Frantz Fanon.
00:21:34.000 That is not what the U.S.
00:21:35.000 military is for.
00:21:36.000 It is a fighting force.
00:21:38.000 But not anymore.
00:21:39.000 It's just for social engineering.
00:21:40.000 Here's Millie again saying, oh, it's just about openness.
00:21:42.000 It's just about openness and learning to be critical.
00:21:45.000 Really?
00:21:46.000 Weird.
00:21:46.000 It's strange to me.
00:21:47.000 I will admit it is very strange to me, the notion that the American military is supposed to be achieving the same function as Cal State Northridge.
00:21:53.000 That's strange to me.
00:21:55.000 I'll just put that out there.
00:21:56.000 Here's Mark Milley defending the notion.
00:21:59.000 On the issue of critical race theory, etc., I'll obviously have to get much smarter on whatever the theory is.
00:22:06.000 But I do think it's important, actually, for those of us in uniform to be open-minded and be widely read.
00:22:14.000 Okay, that's fine.
00:22:15.000 Be open-minded.
00:22:16.000 Be widely read.
00:22:17.000 You don't recommend to read as, like, the text— Again, he's not assigning Heather McDonald's The War on Cops alongside Michelle Alexander's The New Jim Crow.
00:22:27.000 That is not what he is doing right there.
00:22:30.000 Nothing like it.
00:22:31.000 This is not about open-mindedness.
00:22:33.000 This is about indoctrination, of course, of course.
00:22:36.000 But the good news is that we're really doing the important things.
00:22:38.000 Like Nellis Air Force Base, the other day, really did something important.
00:22:42.000 They had their first ever drag queen show at its on-base dining and entertainment clubs, according to a base spokesperson.
00:22:47.000 And according to Nellis Air Force Base, they said in an email to Breitbart News, Nellis Air Force Base and the 99th Air Base Wing hosted its first ever drag show Thursday, June 17th at the Nellis Club.
00:22:55.000 The event was sponsored by a private organization, provided an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the history and significance of drag performance art within the LGBT plus community.
00:23:06.000 Ensuring our ranks reflect and are inclusive of the American people is essential to the morale, cohesion, and readiness of the military.
00:23:11.000 Yes, drag shows are now essential to the morale, cohesion, and readiness of the military.
00:23:16.000 Mellon's Air Force Base is committed to providing and championing an environment that is characterized by equal opportunity, diversity, and inclusion.
00:23:24.000 Wow.
00:23:24.000 I mean, our military is just... How?
00:23:27.000 How will the Chinese ever compete with us?
00:23:28.000 How will the Russians ever compete with us?
00:23:30.000 We're doing the important work here.
00:23:31.000 We're doing the work.
00:23:32.000 Drag queen shows, Michelle Alexander, Dimmer Max Kendi, and maybe if you have a gun, we'll nuke you.
00:23:39.000 Beautiful.
00:23:40.000 This isn't dystopian in any way, shape, or form.
00:23:43.000 In a second, we're going to get into more dystopian nonsense from the Democrats.
00:23:48.000 First, let us talk for a second.

00:24:59.000 Alrighty, so meanwhile, the Democrats are in a bit of trouble.
00:25:05.000 So here's the thing.
00:25:06.000 They're pushing forward with this radical agenda in the military, in every area of American life, actually.
00:25:11.000 And this stuff is not popular.
00:25:14.000 For some reason, Democrats seem to think that Twitter is real.
00:25:18.000 Now, there's a study that came out from Pew Research that I think is quite important on this topic.
00:25:21.000 The study came out October of 2020.
00:25:24.000 And what it showed is that basically Twitter is dominated by Democrats.
00:25:28.000 What they found is that most U.S.
00:25:29.000 adults on Twitter post only rarely, but a small share of highly active users, most of whom are Democrats, produce the vast majority of tweets.
00:25:36.000 The Pew Research Center found that just 10% of users produced 92% of all tweets from U.S.
00:25:42.000 adults since last November.
00:25:43.000 So it's an echo chamber, right?
00:25:44.000 Between the 10% of users producing 92% of the tweets.
00:25:48.000 69% of these highly prolific users identify as Democrats or Democratic-leaning independents.
00:25:54.000 What this means is that number one, the platform has a larger share of Democrats than Republicans.
00:25:58.000 Number two, because it's an echo chamber in which the most powerful people are Democrats and the most frequent tweeters are Democrats, it's easier to ratio a Republican than a Democrat and it's easier to get tons of retweets if you're a Democrat than a Republican.
00:26:09.000 And this leads people into a belief that the Democratic wild progressive agenda is significantly more popular than it is.
00:26:14.000 It simply is not.
00:26:15.000 A good proof of this, David French pointed this out and it's a great point.
00:26:18.000 Andrew Yang had nearly 2 million Twitter followers during the New York mayoral race.
00:26:22.000 Eric Adams had 14,000.
00:26:23.000 Eric Adams just skunked Andrew Yang.
00:26:26.000 Because the real world is not Twitter.
00:26:28.000 Yeah, the same thing was true in Bernie Sanders vs. Joe Bidenville.
00:26:31.000 Twitter is not the real world.
00:26:32.000 Yet, because that is the source of news, and people are inevitably biased by the news that they consume, people on the left, viewing Twitter as the real world as opposed to an echo chamber, tend to think that their policies are much more popular than they are.
00:26:44.000 Then they enact those policies, and it turns out the policies suck.
00:26:46.000 Nowhere is this truer than when it comes to policing and crime.
00:26:50.000 So the Democrats are about to get their asses handed to them in 2022 on the issue of crime.
00:26:54.000 The crime rates in the United States have skyrocketed.
00:26:56.000 They'd already started skyrocketing before the riots in 2020.
00:26:59.000 They actually started skyrocketing in 2014-2015 with the Ferguson riots.
00:27:03.000 And then it calmed down a little bit.
00:27:05.000 And then in 2020, they just exploded.
00:27:07.000 You're seeing the murder rates in virtually every major metropolitan area dominated by Democrats just Unbelievable numbers.
00:27:14.000 Unbelievable numbers.
00:27:15.000 And members of the police forces are pointing this out.
00:27:18.000 So, for example, the LAPD police chief.
00:27:20.000 He said, you know, we were beating back crime, we were doing a pretty good job of it, and now that's all gone.
00:27:24.000 We've led the country in crime reduction over this past decade.
00:27:27.000 We've shown that cops count, that police matter, that community engagement is the leading aspect of crime prevention, and that crime reduction also is tied to effective policing, identifying those that are involved in the violence, bringing them before the justice system and holding them accountable.
00:27:45.000 All of that in this last year has been terribly and devastatingly impacted.
00:27:51.000 Okay, so the reality of course is that crime in Los Angeles is up wildly.
00:27:55.000 Year over year, the murder rate is up like 25%.
00:27:58.000 And that is not a great shock.
00:28:00.000 We've seen the same thing in every major American city.
00:28:03.000 So the Democrats have been faced with a simple reality, and that is that their preferred policies with regard to the cops, blaming the cops for all racial disparities in crime statistics, suggesting that getting rid of the cops is the solution to all of this, blaming systemic racism, none of this is actually solving the problem of actual crime in which people get hurt or killed.
00:28:22.000 So they've come up with a few different strategies.
00:28:24.000 One is to deny there is a problem.
00:28:25.000 So for example, you have D.C.
00:28:26.000 Mayor Muriel Bowser, whose most important contribution to fighting crime was painting a giant Black Lives Matter mural on the streets of Washington, D.C., and then watching as many of her citizens just got shot in the streets.
00:28:39.000 She went in front of the Senate, and she claimed that there was only one night of rioting in D.C.
00:28:44.000 last summer, which is weird because there are literally millions of people who remember D.C.
00:28:47.000 being curfewed for like a week.
00:28:49.000 Do you have a property damage estimate from the summer riots?
00:28:54.000 I'm glad to hear you say that you are opposed to riotous behavior, whether it happened on 16th Street or here.
00:29:02.000 Madam Mayor, could you answer the question?
00:29:04.000 Do you have an estimate of the property damage during the summer riots?
00:29:08.000 I know that we had one night of rioting in the district.
00:29:14.000 Do you know how many people were arrested for the summer riots?
00:29:18.000 We've had dozens of people arrested over the last year.
00:29:22.000 Okay, so, um, pretty impressive denial that anything went wrong in Washington, D.C.
00:29:25.000 under her auspices, even though, you know, again, I know lots of people who are living in Washington, D.C.
00:29:29.000 who are basically bunkered down in their apartment for a week on end while people ran roughshod through the city.
00:29:34.000 Hey, that's one strategy.
00:29:35.000 One strategy is to downplay this.
00:29:36.000 You saw this from Mayor Lori Lightfoot yesterday.
00:29:38.000 She did the same exact thing in Chicago.
00:29:39.000 She said, no, no, no, crime is actually down.
00:29:42.000 From last year, when it was up dramatically.
00:29:44.000 So, really, well done.
00:29:45.000 The other strategy is to deny that Democrats are behind the sort of defund-undercut-the-police routine in the first place.
00:29:52.000 So, this is pushed by Senator Mazie Hirono, legitimately the stupidest member of the United States Senate, from Hawaii, suggesting that Democrats don't stand for defunding the police.
00:30:00.000 Oh, interesting, because it seems like...
00:30:03.000 Kind of your vice president was calling to bail out rioters last year.
00:30:07.000 And also, Joe Biden suggested shifting funding away from the cops and towards social workers.
00:30:12.000 And also, there's been an attempt by the Biden DOJ to crack down on police departments across the country.
00:30:17.000 But don't worry, they're not anti-cop.
00:30:20.000 The Democrats do not stand for defunding police.
00:30:24.000 The police have a major role to play, especially community policing and reducing the incidence of violence and crime in our communities, but it is a multifaceted It's not about, we'll just get tough on crime.
00:30:43.000 It's not about defunding the police, but also, it's not about getting tough on crime.
00:30:46.000 Also, we're not against defunding the police, except for, you know, those of us who are, like India Walton, who just won the Buffalo mayoral primary, Democrat, explaining that their plan is to shift money away from the cops and put it toward, quote-unquote, community development.
00:31:01.000 So this is going well.
00:31:03.000 My plan is to put our resources into community, into neighborhoods, and govern in a deeply democratic way that the people who are governed have say over the decision-making process and how resources are deployed in our community.
00:31:21.000 Hmm.
00:31:21.000 So, yeah.
00:31:22.000 They're not against defunding the police except when they're completely for defunding the police.
00:31:25.000 But here's the good news.
00:31:25.000 They can also blame Republicans for defunding the police.
00:31:27.000 That's literally what Jen Psaki tried to do.
00:31:29.000 She literally- I mean, this is so- The gall of this is pretty rich.
00:31:34.000 So you have an entire Democratic Party that has embraced the notion that systemic racism in American policing is what ails the United States in terms of both race relations and crime.
00:31:43.000 And then you have Jen Psaki get up there and say, oh yeah, and it's Republicans who want to defund the police.
00:31:47.000 Yeah, lady, I mean, my god, not all of us are double-digit IQs here.
00:31:54.000 Part of his announcement is also ensuring there's specific guidance to communities across the country to ensure that they have funding to get more community police around the country.
00:32:04.000 Something that was supported by the American Jobs Plan, that was voted into law by Democrats just a couple of months ago.
00:32:11.000 Some might say that the other party was for defunding the police.
00:32:13.000 I'll let others say that, but that's a piece.
00:32:15.000 Ha ha ha ha ha!
00:32:16.000 You see how it's cute?
00:32:17.000 Because in the infrastructure package that was two trillion dollars, there's like five bucks for the cops, and then they voted against that, so they hit the b- ha ha ha!
00:32:25.000 I mean it's unbelievable!
00:32:26.000 So remember, this was their agenda, and now they have to run away from their own agenda.
00:32:31.000 Joy Behar did the same thing.
00:32:32.000 She blamed Trump for rising crime.
00:32:34.000 Yes, probably it was the president who was calling for law and order, the same president you were screaming at, screaming at, for suggesting perhaps we might use the Insurrection Act to quell riots in most of America's major cities, the same president you were yelling at for putting federal troops in place, or federal officers, rather, in places like Portland to protect federal property.
00:32:52.000 Probably it was him.
00:32:53.000 Yes, Joy, it wasn't you.
00:32:54.000 It was him.
00:32:57.000 Every president since Clinton inherited basically a declining crime rate and then it continued to decline until Trump came along.
00:33:06.000 Because Trump recited over the greatest crime rise in modern American history.
00:33:11.000 The murder rate shot up 26% and mass shootings spiked.
00:33:16.000 Hate crimes spiked more than 20% during his presidency.
00:33:20.000 Now I don't want to lay the whole thing at his feet, but he did create four years normalizing crime.
00:33:26.000 Four years normalizing crime?
00:33:28.000 What in the actual F?
00:33:30.000 Like, seriously?
00:33:32.000 Okay, but Joe Biden has the most incredible response to all of this.
00:33:35.000 Again, he can't just say, we need to staff up on the cops, which is amazing because remember, Joe Biden's signal accomplishment when he was in Congress was the 1994 Crime Bill, which was a win.
00:33:45.000 The 1994 Crime Bill magnified the ability of the police to staff up and led to an unprecedented drop in the violent crime rate in the United States, basically unparalleled in American history from 1994 all the way until about 2014.
00:33:59.000 And now he can't even own that.
00:34:00.000 So now he's got an alternative explanation for why crime rate has been driven up in the United States.
00:34:05.000 Don't worry.
00:34:05.000 It's not the cops being absent.
00:34:07.000 It's not the cops being undercut.
00:34:09.000 It's not the Democrats fomenting riots and looting and justifying it and pretending it's all part of a giant racial reckoning that the United States deserves and ripping on the institutions of the United States.
00:34:18.000 It's not any of that.
00:34:20.000 It's guns, of course.
00:34:21.000 We'll get to that in just one second.
00:34:23.000 First, let's talk about how comfortable you are at the office.

00:34:28.000 You're gonna be sitting on an uncomfortable rickety office chair.
00:34:31.000 It's just not very nice.
00:34:32.000 Okay, or there is a plausible alternative.
00:34:35.000 You could be sitting on a cloud from heaven.
00:34:38.000 I'm talking right here about the X chair.

00:35:50.000 We'll get to more on this in just a second.
00:35:51.000 First, Joe Biden hasn't even been president for six months.
00:35:54.000 Already, his agenda is a complete mess.
00:35:55.000 Whether it is Democratic Senator Joe Manchin blocking Biden's beloved supposed voting rights bill, or Border Czar Kamala Harris getting ripped for not visiting the border.
00:36:03.000 She finally is visiting.
00:36:04.000 It just took a few months.
00:36:05.000 It seems that the Biden administration, they're having some trouble.
00:36:08.000 But leftists, meanwhile, are in fact succeeding in their cultural takeover.
00:36:12.000 Or maybe they're not.
00:36:13.000 Maybe the cracks are beginning to show.
00:36:15.000 States are fighting it out over CRT and transgender ideology being taught in the classroom.
00:36:19.000 Big Tep flip-flopped on their ban regarding the origins of COVID-19.
00:36:22.000 The U.S.
00:36:23.000 is currently a laughingstock on the international stage with their recent Army commercials.
00:36:27.000 Well, we're going to talk about all those things tonight.
00:36:29.000 Join me, Jeremy Boring, Michael Knowles, and Andrew Klavan tonight for another cigar-packed session of Backstage.

00:36:42.000 Also, in 1948, Clarence Thomas was born into dire poverty in the segregated South by 1991.
00:36:47.000 He was fighting a contentious confirmation battle that ended in his rise to the Supreme Court.
00:36:51.000 He is currently the most important justice in America.
00:36:53.000 He has been for quite a while.
00:36:54.000 And now, we're told his amazing story in the film, Created Equal, Clarence Thomas in his own words, if you haven't seen it.
00:37:00.000 I highly recommend watching it right now at Daily Wire.
00:37:02.000 Despite the film's popularity, Amazon inexplicably removed it from its streaming service during none other than Black History Month, because it's one thing to have Black History Month center on like Michelle Alexander.
00:37:12.000 It is another thing for Black History Month to center on, you know, actually important figures in American history like Clarence Thomas.

00:38:09.000 So Joe Biden has an answer to the crime question as well.
00:38:12.000 So Joe Biden has an answer to the crime question as well.
00:38:17.000 So we've had a few answers for Democrats.
00:38:19.000 One is, it's not that bad, right?
00:38:21.000 Really, it's not that bad.
00:38:22.000 I mean, we've got that from Merrill Bowser in Washington, D.C.
00:38:25.000 and Lori Lightfoot in Chicago.
00:38:26.000 It's all in your imagination.
00:38:27.000 All those dead bodies on their streets.
00:38:29.000 You're just imagining that, guys.
00:38:30.000 I mean, that's not real.
00:38:31.000 That's not real.
00:38:31.000 It's all a mirage.
00:38:33.000 Okay, part two of this argument is actually, actually, we never called for defunding the police.
00:38:39.000 That, again, figment of your imagination.
00:38:41.000 We never were anti-cop.
00:38:43.000 In fact, Jen Psaki goes as far as to say it's Republicans who are anti-cop.
00:38:47.000 You know how you know they're anti-cop?
00:38:48.000 You know that they're anti-cop?
00:38:49.000 Because Republicans are gonna defund the police.
00:38:53.000 Okay, and then you get to part three, and that is it's not a crime problem.
00:38:56.000 It's a gun crime problem.
00:38:59.000 It's about the guns.
00:39:00.000 Now, There's a complicating factor in the it's the guns problem.
00:39:05.000 There are a few.
00:39:06.000 One, the places that are experiencing the highest levels of violence right now are in fact major American cities with heavy gun control.
00:39:12.000 Chicago, Washington D.C., New York, Los Angeles, Seattle.
00:39:17.000 None of these places are exactly red state gun havens.
00:39:20.000 These are not places where there is a gun propped over the mantelpiece in every home next to a buck's head or something.
00:39:27.000 That's not what's going on.
00:39:28.000 Number two, the number of guns in circulation in the United States has been going steadily up over the course of the last 20 years.
00:39:33.000 The crime rate was going steadily down.
00:39:35.000 And then Democrats took control of these major American cities and decided that they were going to actually reverse all that progress.
00:39:41.000 Remember, New York City was effectively governed by Republicans up until the end of Bloomberg, at least with regard to crime.
00:39:48.000 Same thing in Los Angeles up through the end of Richard Reardon, and then it started to reverse itself.
00:39:53.000 And same thing in some of these other major cities where, while there may have been Democrats governing, these Democrats were at least friends with the cops, right?
00:40:00.000 I mean, they were big with the cops.
00:40:01.000 They liked the cops.
00:40:02.000 They had good relationships.
00:40:03.000 No longer, right?
00:40:04.000 The moderate Democratic Party is dead.
00:40:05.000 And so now they have to come up with some sort of alternative explanation for why reality is not complying with their demands that reality change.
00:40:12.000 And there is this odd sort of need among Democrats to completely ignore the realities of life in order to present the ideology that they espouse as being practical.
00:40:21.000 You saw this with Obamacare, that Obamacare kicked into place and suddenly restaurants were like, OK, you know what?
00:40:27.000 It's going to cost us more money because now we have to cover certain things we didn't have to cover before.
00:40:30.000 And so we're going to give you an Obamacare upcharge.
00:40:32.000 And people get angry at restaurants for noting this.
00:40:34.000 How dare these restaurants note this?
00:40:36.000 How dare they?
00:40:37.000 Or, you see there's a minimum wage.
00:40:39.000 Minimum wage rises in a particular city, restaurants start to go out of business, or they raise their prices and they notify their customers, the reason that we're raising our prices is because the state is forcing us to spend more on labor.
00:40:48.000 And Democrats will be like, how dare they let you know this?
00:40:50.000 Remember, this was a big issue in Seattle just a few years ago.
00:40:53.000 Okay, so now it turns out that human behavior does not comply with democratic demand.
00:40:59.000 Crime goes up when you get rid of the incentive for crime to go down.
00:41:02.000 So Joe Biden has to come up with a plausible alternative.
00:41:04.000 His alternative is, it's the guns.
00:41:06.000 The guns have just, they've gotten really violent lately.
00:41:09.000 Like before, those guns, they were just kind of sitting there as anonymous objects.
00:41:11.000 But lately, for no reason that we can discern, those guns have basically gotten up, started walking around on their own.
00:41:17.000 Like the little brooms in the Sorcerer's Apprentice from the original Fantasia.
00:41:20.000 They're just going around shooting black people for no reason.
00:41:24.000 And that's the problem, obviously.
00:41:25.000 It's the guns, guys.
00:41:27.000 So, the answer to that, therefore, is a gun crackdown on people who illegally own or use guns.
00:41:33.000 Unless their name is Hunter Biden and they're snorting Parmesan cheese, and also their girlfriend is taking their gun and throwing it in a dumpster, and then you call Secret Service to clean it up.
00:41:39.000 If that's the case, then you just leave it alone.
00:41:41.000 Right?
00:41:42.000 That's not a gun criminal, Hunter Biden.
00:41:44.000 Hunter Biden is the greatest and smartest person Joe Biden knows.
00:41:47.000 It is all of you.
00:41:48.000 You and your gun ownership.
00:41:50.000 You and your law-abiding-ness.
00:41:52.000 It's like white supremacy.
00:41:53.000 You might think that you're not a racist.
00:41:55.000 Secretly, you're a racist because Joe Biden says so.
00:41:57.000 You might think that you're a normal law-abiding gun owner.
00:42:00.000 Secretly, however, the criminal lurks within.
00:42:03.000 And it didn't until you bought the gun.
00:42:06.000 Now that you bought the gun, well, I mean, all bets are off.
00:42:09.000 Whoa.
00:42:10.000 So here is Joe Biden slurring his words and saying nonsensical things.
00:42:13.000 As per his usual arrangement, his continuous battle with the teleprompter just maintains.
00:42:20.000 Eddie worked as a violence interrupter.
00:42:22.000 Now he runs a program that provides high risk men with cognitive behavioral therapy to help them react to the impulses by slowing down rather than following through on the violence.
00:42:36.000 It puts them in, it puts them in paid jobs to change their trajectory.
00:42:41.000 The program has reduced shootings by 40%.
00:42:46.000 Well, we give them cognitive macubrity and then a cream of wheat.
00:42:50.000 Lens matlock.
00:42:51.000 Yeah.
00:42:52.000 Here's the president getting into his actual policy as opposed to just generally slurring his words like a patient who needs to be returned forthwith to his hospice room.
00:43:03.000 Here's the president of the United States claiming it is untrue that blue cities have the worst gun crime.
00:43:08.000 The gun lobby wants you to believe that cities that had the toughest gun laws still have the highest rates of gun violence, as is pointed out by the group we had today in our roundtable.
00:43:20.000 The violence is so they argue, why do you need those gun laws if they don't work in cities that have tough laws?
00:43:27.000 Don't believe it.
00:43:28.000 Here's the truth.
00:43:29.000 Today's conversation with Mayor Scott of Baltimore, for example, echoed what we know to be the case in here for mayors all across the country.
00:43:36.000 Mayors have the power to help shape and enforce the laws in their cities, but they can't control the laws in neighboring cities and states, even though the gun legally bought there is often ends up in their streets.
00:43:49.000 I love the logic here.
00:43:49.000 The logic here is, yeah, sure, it's true.
00:43:51.000 We have these gun control laws in our cities, and we have the power to control our cities, but we have no power to control our cities at all.
00:43:57.000 None, right?
00:43:58.000 It's all coming from the outside.
00:43:59.000 So presumably, you know, we share this giant border with Mexico, as it turns out, this huge border with Mexico.
00:44:04.000 So let's say that the Biden administration were to crack down on gun dissemination in the United States, and then guns started flowing over that border.
00:44:11.000 Presumably, you can make the same claim.
00:44:13.000 Oh my God, the gun crime in the United States, it's due to that border.
00:44:16.000 So probably we should invade Mexico.
00:44:17.000 Like, what are you talking about?
00:44:18.000 What are you talking about?
00:44:19.000 You tried your gun control policies in Washington, D.C.
00:44:23.000 It failed.
00:44:24.000 Either your mayors have control over the cities or they don't.
00:44:27.000 If they don't have control over their cities, I would recommend that you elect a new mayor.
00:44:30.000 Because it turns out that when Republicans govern these cities, suddenly the gun crime goes way down.
00:44:34.000 Weird!
00:44:35.000 Weird how that works.
00:44:37.000 Almost as though policy has something to do with the predictable outcome.
00:44:40.000 But it's all the guns.
00:44:41.000 It's all the guns.
00:44:42.000 And then Joe Biden goes into one of his bizarre reveries.
00:44:45.000 We've already had his bizarre reverie about how you don't need guns because the government could nuke your ass, which is like Joe Biden as Slim Pickens in Dr. Strangelove.
00:44:54.000 Come on, man!
00:44:59.000 Also, he has now attempted this line about how you don't need certain types of ammunition because you're not going to shoot a deer with a Kevlar vest.
00:45:07.000 He's tried this line multiple times.
00:45:09.000 It is always stupid because he is correct.
00:45:12.000 Deer do not wear Kevlar vests.
00:45:13.000 Also, when a deer invades my home, I'll worry about shooting a deer.
00:45:17.000 When somebody invades my home seeking to harm me or my family, There's a better shot that the human doing that is wearing a Kevlar vest than a deer.
00:45:25.000 But here is the President of the United States again, being an addled, febrile idiot.
00:45:32.000 There are things we know that work to reduce gun violence and violent crime, and things that we don't know about, but things we know about.
00:45:40.000 Background checks for purchasing a firearm are important.
00:45:45.000 Ban on assault weapons in high-capacity magazines.
00:45:49.000 No one needs to have a weapon that can fire over 30, 40, 50, even up to 100 rounds.
00:45:56.000 Unless you think the deer are wearing Kevlar vests or something.
00:46:03.000 First of all, I love that he prefaces that.
00:46:05.000 I do love that he prefaces that.
00:46:06.000 There are things we know that work against gun violence, like getting rid of quote-unquote assault weapons.
00:46:10.000 That didn't get rid of gun violence, you idiot!
00:46:13.000 You can look at the decline in gun crime across the United States, and it continued after the assault weapons ban expired in the early 2000s.
00:46:25.000 There is no evidence that that assault weapons ban had anything to do with the decline in crime.
00:46:28.000 You know what has to do with the decline in crime?
00:46:30.000 This is the most obvious thing in the entire world.
00:46:31.000 What had to do with the decline in crime?
00:46:33.000 More cops!
00:46:34.000 Copping!
00:46:34.000 Right?
00:46:35.000 That is what... It turns out that police officers policing things reduces the levels of crime.
00:46:41.000 But again, Democrats cannot admit this because they are ruled by Twitter.
00:46:44.000 Because it cuts against their ideology.
00:46:46.000 And they are cruising for an absolute electoral bruising.
00:46:49.000 And you can see them reversing this stuff in real time.
00:46:49.000 They are cruising for it.
00:46:52.000 Over the course of the last week, the Democrats have reversed themselves on a bunch of their key issues.
00:46:56.000 So to take one example, The same Democrats who are declaring it is life or death for democracy to not pass their garbage voting rights bill, which is not a voting rights bill.
00:47:05.000 It is a voter fraud bill.
00:47:06.000 It expands the possibility of voter fraud in a wide variety of ways.
00:47:10.000 Democrats were suggesting for years that voter I.D.
00:47:13.000 was a racist tool of Jim Crow.
00:47:15.000 Now it turns out that Democrats are embracing the new Jim Crow.
00:47:18.000 Weird.
00:47:18.000 Weird.
00:47:19.000 According to the New York Times, Democrats are reluctantly making voter I.D.
00:47:22.000 laws a bargaining chip.
00:47:24.000 Congressional Democrats searching for any way forward on legislation to protect voting rights find themselves softening their once firm opposition to a form of restriction on the franchise they had long warned would be Exhibit A for voter suppression, voter identification laws, according to the New York Times.
00:47:38.000 In recent years, as the concept of voter ID has become broadly popular, the idea that voters bring some form of ID to the polls has been accepted by Democrats ranging from Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia on the center right, Do Stacey Abrams of Georgia, a hero of the left, Senator Raphael Warnock, Democrat from Georgia, said, as I've always said, a person should have to confirm they are who they are in order to vote.
00:47:58.000 No, you haven't said that always. Well, they reversed themselves because they realized it was unpopular.
00:48:06.000 They're kind of stuck on the policing issue because it's so central to their racial equity push to be anti-cop that they have to find some sort of plausible alternative explanation.
00:48:13.000 But they're reversing themselves as fast as possible on as many policies as humanly possible.
00:48:18.000 Like over and over and over again.
00:48:20.000 Which is why, of course, they're sending Kamala Harris to the border.
00:48:22.000 It turns out that that is a giant fail.
00:48:25.000 So they put Kamala Harris in charge of the border, then she didn't go to the border, and people were like, hey, look, there's a giant crisis at the border and Kamala Harris is nowhere to be found.
00:48:31.000 Now, she's heading to the US-Mexico border this week.
00:48:34.000 Why?
00:48:35.000 She's heading there because Donald Trump said he was going there.
00:48:38.000 All it took was Donald Trump saying that he was going to go visit the border for the White House to be like, well, that seems like bad optics.
00:48:43.000 Why don't we send Kamala Harris there?
00:48:45.000 And she pretends she cares about all of this.
00:48:47.000 My favorite is Jen Psaki's attempted explanation of why Kamala Harris is now going to the border.
00:48:51.000 We understand why she's going now.
00:48:53.000 It's to avoid political harm to the administration.
00:48:55.000 Here's Jen Psaki trying to play it off.
00:48:58.000 Why is the vice president visiting the border this week when earlier this month she dismissed a trip like that, saying it would be a grand gesture?
00:49:06.000 She also said in an interview with NBC that she would be open to going to the border if it was an appropriate time.
00:49:13.000 She said that after she said that.
00:49:14.000 So that's important context.
00:49:15.000 That's right.
00:49:16.000 And important context, I've got the NBC interview right here.
00:49:19.000 She was talking about how she hasn't been to the border, she hasn't been to Europe either.
00:49:23.000 So does she think that these two things are the same?
00:49:27.000 And again, Peter, I think she also said in the same interview that she would be open to going to the border at an appropriate time.
00:49:33.000 Okay, we all know what's going on.
00:49:36.000 Democrats are, they are fast reversing their own policy.
00:49:40.000 Which is an indication, those polls for 2022, those polls, they must look just terrible.
00:49:47.000 All righty, we'll be back here later today with an additional hour of content.
00:49:49.000 In the meantime, go check out The Michael Knowles Show.
00:49:51.000 Today, he discusses the death, suicide, of John McAfee.
00:49:55.000 You can hear more details about that story over on Michael's Show.
