The Ben Shapiro Show - Pence Wrecks Harris | Ep. 1111

00:00:00.000 Vice President Mike Pence destroys Senator Kamala Harris in the sole vice presidential debate, and we examine every detail.

00:00:06.000 The Commission on Public Debate says the second presidential debate will be virtual and Trump box, and Bill de Blasio gets even weirder than usual.

00:00:12.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.

00:00:13.000 This is the Ben Shapiro Show.

00:00:23.000 Protect your online privacy today at expressvpn.com.

00:00:26.000 In fact, you know what?

00:00:27.000 Let me tell you a little bit more about ExpressVPN.

00:00:30.000 You want to protect that online privacy, don't you?

00:00:32.000 Don't you?

00:00:32.000 You should.

00:00:33.000 I mean, there are hackers who are looking out for your data.

00:00:35.000 It turns out that there's ISPs who are using your data to monetize their own services.

00:00:39.000 Many of those services designed to crack down on conservatives.

00:00:42.000 So why should you allow them?

00:00:44.000 to control what you can see and what you can hear and how your data gets monetized. Instead, take back control of your data with ExpressVPN. See, the problem with big tech companies, not only do they censor what you read, they actually track what you do online.

00:00:55.000 They'll track what you're searching for, the videos you watch, everything you click. They use that data to serve you ads. They can match your activity to your offline identity using your device's unique IP address. When I use ExpressVPN, the tech companies cannot even see my IP address.

00:01:08.000 My identity is masked and anonymized by a secure VPN server.

00:01:11.000 If that sounds complicated, it isn't.

00:01:13.000 With one click, click download, you got this thing now on your computer or on your phone.

00:01:17.000 And now you click again, and it is protecting you.

00:01:19.000 full time. So why would you give tech companies a free license to know everything about you, then turn around and sell off your data? Time to take back your privacy at ExpressVPN.com.

00:01:28.000 I've been using ExpressVPN to protect myself for years. You should too. By visiting my special link, you get an extra three months of ExpressVPN service for free. Who doesn't like to save money, right? Again, that's ExpressVPN.com to protect your data today. Okay, so last night was the is the big vice presidential debate.

00:01:50.000 It may in fact be the last debate, as it turns out, because right now, President Trump is claiming he's not going to do a second debate if the second debate is virtual, and the Commission on Public Debate is now saying that they want it to be virtual only.

00:02:02.000 According to the Associated Press, the second debate between Trump and Biden will take place virtually amid the fallout from the president's diagnosis of COVID-19.

00:02:09.000 The nonpartisan commission on presidential debates cited a need to quote protect the health and safety of all involved with the second presidential debate. The candidates will quote participate from separate remote locations while the participants and moderator remain in Miami. That of course would radically shape the dynamic of the second debate. Number one there's always a little bit of delay when you're doing things remotely.

00:02:29.000 There's very slight delay generally.

00:02:31.000 And that means it's very difficult for Trump to jump in if Biden is lying or for Biden to fend off attacks from Trump.

00:02:37.000 It could turn into even more of a mess.

00:02:38.000 If you've ever been on a Zoom call with a delay, you know exactly what I'm talking about.

00:02:42.000 Also, there are severe concerns and there should be severe concerns about what sort of information Joe Biden is going to get.

00:02:48.000 Remember, when he's actually in the room, he can't be fed information, but his own people have routinely and repeatedly refused to answer on camera whether Joe Biden uses teleprompter during interviews.

00:02:58.000 Like whether they're feeding him information during the interviews by throwing it up on his teleprompter.

00:03:01.000 You could easily see them doing something like that in the middle of the debate, especially because they've not actually disowned that tactic in the past.

00:03:08.000 Trump says he's not going to do it.

00:03:10.000 So Trump said on Fox Business this morning, he will not do a virtual debate.

00:03:14.000 Here's what it sounded like.

00:03:15.000 I heard that the Commission a little while ago changed the debate style, and that's not acceptable to us.

00:03:22.000 I beat him easily in the first debate, according to the polls that I've seen, but I beat him easily.

00:03:28.000 I felt I beat him easily.

00:03:29.000 I think he felt it, too.

00:03:30.000 But I'm not going to do a virtual debate.

00:03:34.000 So you're not—so, Mr. President, you're not going to do it because the CPD, the Commission on Presidential Debates, announcing this morning that the second presidential debate will be virtual.

00:03:43.000 Are you saying you're not going to participate?

00:03:45.000 No, I'm not going to waste my time on a virtual debate.

00:03:48.000 That's not what debating is all about.

00:03:49.000 You sit behind a computer and do a debate. 0.99

00:03:51.000 It's ridiculous. 0.95

00:03:52.000 And then they cut you off whenever they want. 0.73

00:03:56.000 Now, the Commission on Presidential Debate, of course, says that they have to do this for reasons of public safety.

00:04:02.000 Of course, right now, it is only October 8th.

00:04:05.000 The president will be free and clear of this thing by the time the next debate rolls around, presumably.

00:04:12.000 It is unclear how long the virus is shed, but he will be immune if he continues to recover.

00:04:18.000 He apparently is symptom-free and has been symptom-free for some 48 or 72 hours at this point.

00:04:24.000 So it seems unlikely at best that he's going to transmit the virus a week from now to somebody.

00:04:30.000 And it seems like he could take some precautions to the extent that you need to take precautions in order to make sure that they can have an in-person debate.

00:04:36.000 He could do it in the open air.

00:04:38.000 He could do it outdoors in the open air.

00:04:40.000 12 feet apart from each other, which would pretty much ensure that nobody is exposed to the president's COVID.

00:04:46.000 And again, by that point, the COVID should basically be done.

00:04:49.000 Nonetheless, do I think Trump will end up debating?

00:04:50.000 I do.

00:04:51.000 I think Trump will end up debating because frankly, he needs it more than Biden does.

00:04:54.000 If you look at the polls right now, he's trailing Biden very, very heavily nationally, and he's trailing Biden more and more in the States.

00:04:59.000 There was a new Quinnipiac poll out today.

00:05:01.000 Quinnipiac is generally Somewhat favorable to Biden, but these polls are devastating for Trump.

00:05:05.000 They haven't done 11 in Florida, which of course is an outlier poll so far, and 13 in Pennsylvania, also an outlier poll so far.

00:05:12.000 Bottom line is this, there has not been a good poll for Trump in quite a long while in the various swing states.

00:05:20.000 In Pennsylvania, the RealClearPolitics poll average now puts Biden up 7 points.

00:05:25.000 In Florida, the RealClearPolitics poll average now puts Biden up nearly 5 points.

00:05:29.000 In Wisconsin, he's leading by 5.5.

00:05:30.000 In Arizona, he's still leading by about 3.

00:05:34.000 And nationally, he is leading by about 10.

00:05:36.000 Trump, in order to win this election, really needs to be within 3 to 5 points of Biden nationally.

00:05:41.000 He doesn't need to win the popular vote, but he does need to be in spitting distance of Biden in the popular vote.

00:05:45.000 So that means that Trump has ground to make up.

00:05:47.000 And if he's going to make up that ground, then he needs that debate.

00:05:49.000 So him walking away from the debate is very, very unlikely, I think.

00:05:53.000 Okay, with that said, if he does walk away from the debate, that means that the last debate that we'll probably see before the election is the one that we saw last night.

00:06:01.000 Now, in the lead up to the debate, it was perfectly obvious where the line was going to be.

00:06:03.000 The New York Times said openly in their reporting that Kamala Harris was a historic, wonderful human being, because of course she is black and she's a woman, and this means she's a historic, wonderful human being no matter what she does or what she says, and that the only sort of attacks that have come from the right are Crazed attacks that are racist and sexist in nature, calling her a radical leftist.

00:06:23.000 Well, they'd already preset the narrative.

00:06:24.000 That means that if you criticize Kamala Harris, you're racist and you're sexist.

00:06:28.000 And we knew going in that this was the way this debate was going to be played.

00:06:31.000 Literally 10 seconds after the debate started, I tweeted, breaking, CNN calls debate for Kamala Harris.

00:06:36.000 And that's exactly what happened last night.

00:06:38.000 It turns out that Mike Pence absolutely thoroughly debunked Kamala Harris.

00:06:42.000 I mean, he dismantled her.

00:06:43.000 It was truly a great debate performance.

00:06:46.000 I've seen a lot of presidential and vice presidential debates.

00:06:48.000 Mike Pence happens to be very, very good at this.

00:06:50.000 He is smooth.

00:06:51.000 He only answers the questions he wants to answer.

00:06:53.000 And when he goes on attack, he is very meticulous in how he goes about those attacks.

00:06:57.000 Kamala Harris, by contrast, is wild.

00:06:59.000 There's a lot of smirking.

00:07:01.000 There was some weird chuckling.

00:07:02.000 She obviously wanted to goad Pence into somehow getting aggressive with her. 0.99

00:07:07.000 He really didn't.

00:07:08.000 And so the media's line, which is that Pence was too aggressive, that he was mansplaining to her, that all fell apart.

00:07:14.000 The reality is she had nothing.

00:07:16.000 And what's even more incredible is that the attacks that she used against Trump, Very few of them actually seem to stick because number one, we've heard it all before.

00:07:24.000 And number two, a lot of that is drawn from like Bob Woodward's book.

00:07:28.000 And it's not from stuff that we have seen from Trump publicly, per se.

00:07:32.000 It doesn't mean that the public perception of Trump is really good.

00:07:34.000 It means that Pence did the best he could with a bad situation, namely COVID.

00:07:37.000 And it means that Kamala Harris is actually really, really incompetent. 1.00

00:07:40.000 She's an incompetent debater. 1.00

00:07:42.000 I know the legend of Kamala Harris is that she's great at this because she once said a mean thing to Joe Biden on stage. 1.00

00:07:47.000 But as per her usual arrangement, what she said to Joe Biden there was factually inaccurate.

00:07:51.000 It was a complete, it was a complete misinterpretation of the facts.

00:07:55.000 And then she had to back off of it.

00:07:56.000 There was a lot of that last night with Mike Pence.

00:07:59.000 She really did not land a blow against Pence, and Pence landed quite a few blows against Biden and Harris.

00:08:04.000 Now, is it going to make a big difference?

00:08:05.000 It's a vice presidential debate, so theoretically it could, because obviously we all know that Kamala Harris is likely to be president if Biden is elected, given the fact that he is 78 years old and not in the world's best health.

00:08:16.000 But is it going to make a big difference?

00:08:19.000 As long as Trump is in center stage, the answer is probably not. 0.91

00:08:22.000 But this debate is what the Trump administration agenda looks like without Trump's crazy. 0.53

00:08:28.000 Seriously, that's what this debate looked like.

00:08:29.000 And you know what?

00:08:30.000 It looks pretty damned good.

00:08:32.000 For all the folks who say, we need Trump's Twitter.

00:08:33.000 We need it full time.

00:08:34.000 We need more Trump loviation.

00:08:36.000 We need more Trump militancy.

00:08:38.000 Let me just point out that debate last night was fantastic.

00:08:41.000 The debate was fantastic because Mike Pence was the Trump agenda just as an agenda.

00:08:47.000 It was the Trump agenda without any of the ancillary wild commentary.

00:08:52.000 And I understand maybe you need the wild commentary in order to draw attention.

00:08:55.000 I understand that we all on the right enjoy when Trump punches at the media and sometimes it is well deserved.

00:09:00.000 As I've been saying for literally five years at this point, Donald Trump is a hammer.

00:09:03.000 I mean, sometimes he hits a nail, which is great and satisfying, and sometimes he hits a baby, which is significantly less satisfying and significantly less great.

00:09:11.000 But the point is this.

00:09:12.000 The Trump agenda, stripped of all the sort of Trumpian overtones, is actually excellent.

00:09:18.000 And when it is defended properly, as Mike Pence did, not like Trump in the first debate, as Mike Pence did in the vice presidential debate, that agenda is worthy of re-election.

00:09:25.000 That agenda is worthy of another four years.

00:09:28.000 It is.

00:09:29.000 Pence did an excellent job laying forth the Trump administration agenda, laying forth all of the successes of the Trump administration.

00:09:36.000 And they are plentiful.

00:09:37.000 And not only that, he contrasted that agenda and the accomplishments of the Trump administration with what Kamala Harris and Joe Biden would do.

00:09:44.000 And Kamala Harris had no answers because the entire Biden-Harris campaign is Trump is an orange man who is bad.

00:09:51.000 That is the entire campaign.

00:09:52.000 She refused to answer questions about abortion policy.

00:09:55.000 She refused to answer questions About her COVID policy.

00:09:59.000 She refused to answer questions on court packing.

00:10:01.000 She refused to answer questions on foreign policy.

00:10:03.000 Kamala Harris did not answer a single question straight last night.

00:10:07.000 Not from the moderator and not from Pence.

00:10:09.000 And so she was relegated to falling back on, he's being mean to me because I'm a girl.

00:10:13.000 Which by the way, is playing directly into sexist stereotypes.

00:10:16.000 You gotta pick one if you're a member of the media.

00:10:18.000 Either women are the full equal of men in the political sphere and should be treated exactly the same, or women are delicate lilies of the field who must be protected from the gentle predations of Mike Pence, one of the most polite people in American politics. 0.99

00:10:30.000 If Mike Pence is too much for you in American politics, you need to get out of the venue entirely.

00:10:36.000 Okay, seriously.

00:10:37.000 If Mike Pence is too harsh on you, then let me suggest that that is a you problem.

00:10:43.000 That is not a Mike Pence problem.

00:10:45.000 If the media are relegated to talking about how Mike Pence was mean to Kamala Harris, oh, poor Kamala Harris, then don't give me the, she's a tough prosecuting lady, she is woman, hear her roar, these boots are made for walking. 0.99

00:10:57.000 Don't give me that crap. 0.98

00:10:58.000 If the immediate aftermath of a vice presidential debate is, why was he mean to her? 0.99

00:11:04.000 Why did he sometimes interrupt her during a debate?

00:11:06.000 It's called a debate.

00:11:07.000 Is that discussion, society?

00:11:09.000 We'll get to all this in a second.

00:11:10.000 We're going to break down the debate.

00:11:11.000 It was an extraordinary performance by Pence.

00:11:14.000 All credit to Mike Pence.

00:11:15.000 He really did an excellent job last night.

00:12:18.000 Go check them out right now.

00:12:20.000 Let's jump into the debate.

00:12:21.000 So the debate leads off Susan Page of USA Today.

00:12:24.000 I thought she did a decent job. 0.76

00:12:26.000 Her questions were meh.

00:12:28.000 Some of them were good, some of them were bad.

00:12:29.000 I didn't think they were universally good.

00:12:31.000 She was tasked with something easier than Chris Wallace.

00:12:33.000 Wallace had to face down the prospect of Donald Trump completely just talking through Joe Biden for 90 long minutes.

00:12:39.000 And Wallace lost control of the debate and then he lost control of himself in that order.

00:12:43.000 Susan Page really didn't have that problem. 1.00

00:12:45.000 People on the left are mad at Susan Page, which shows you that Pence dominated Harris.

00:12:50.000 It just is a truism of politics that if you're attacking the referee, then probably it's because you didn't do great. 0.99

00:12:56.000 Now, it may be the referee also sucks, but last night Susan Page did not suck. 1.00

00:12:59.000 She was fine. 0.98

00:13:00.000 Susan Page, you know, people were like, why didn't she hold them to the questions?

00:13:04.000 Why didn't she press them on the questions?

00:13:06.000 You know, these are professional politicians who answer what they want to answer.

00:13:10.000 And Page basically, you know, she stepped out of it, which was good.

00:13:14.000 She didn't put herself at the center of the story in the same way that Chris Wallace did.

00:13:17.000 Okay, she started this thing off and she made clear that she was not going to be okay with the sort of Trumpian interruptions that happened in the last debate.

00:13:26.000 We want a debate that is lively, but Americans also deserve a discussion that is civil.

00:13:33.000 Okay, then the debate actually begins.

00:13:37.000 And as you'll see, Kamala Harris did not answer a single question.

00:13:41.000 A single question.

00:13:42.000 And she continually spewed lies. 0.99

00:13:44.000 I mean, she is a very dishonest human being. 0.99

00:13:46.000 She's chameleonic in her own politics. 0.98

00:13:48.000 She's willing to literally say anything. 0.97

00:13:51.000 I cannot emphasize too much that Kamala Harris is a person who literally implied that the person who is now her running mate was a sexual harasser and a racist.

00:14:03.000 And now when she's asked about it, she says it was a debate.

00:14:05.000 She said that to Stephen Colbert.

00:14:07.000 It was a debate!

00:14:11.000 I mean, that was Kamala Harris. 1.00

00:14:12.000 So she's a really, really dishonest player. 1.00

00:14:15.000 Okay, so last night the debate begins, and of course it starts with COVID.

00:14:18.000 Paige asks Kamala Harris, would you impose new lockdowns and masking? 0.71

00:14:21.000 And Kamala Harris just completely ignores the question, of course. 1.00

00:14:25.000 Would you impose new lockdowns for businesses and schools and hotspots?

00:14:30.000 A federal mandate to wear masks?

00:14:32.000 The American people have witnessed what is the greatest failure of any presidential administration in the history of our country.

00:14:40.000 And they knew what was happening, and they didn't tell you.

00:14:45.000 The president said it was a hoax.

00:14:47.000 And our plan is about what we need to do around a national strategy for contact tracing, for testing, for administration of the vaccine, and making sure that it will be free for all.

00:14:58.000 Okay, so a few things here.

00:14:59.000 One, Kamala Harris has a couple of modes, just in terms of modes.

00:15:02.000 So Mike Pence is extremely stable in debate.

00:15:06.000 You never really see him get upset.

00:15:07.000 You never see him really get ruffled.

00:15:08.000 Kamala Harris has two modes, faux sincerity and faux outrage. 0.90

00:15:11.000 That's it.

00:15:12.000 Those are the only two modes.

00:15:13.000 She just bounces between those. 1.00

00:15:14.000 So faux sincerity is when she lowers her voice and she starts to get a little emotional.

00:15:18.000 I hate this in all politicians, right?

00:15:20.000 Even politicians, I personally like, like Ted Cruz does this a lot, that kind of faux, we're going to go down here for the sincere voice.

00:15:26.000 Whenever you go to sincere voice, I'm out.

00:15:28.000 But Kamala Harris does that a lot. 1.00

00:15:29.000 She does the faux sincerity.

00:15:30.000 So there's the, and that was a little girl like me, Joe.

00:15:33.000 And then there's the faux outrage.

00:15:35.000 I am speaking here.

00:15:36.000 I am speaking.

00:15:38.000 She bounces between those two positions. 1.00

00:15:40.000 Everything is faux sincerity and faux outrage because she sucks at this. 1.00

00:15:43.000 She's terrible. 0.99

00:15:44.000 Kamala Harris is not good at this. 1.00

00:15:46.000 That's what's so hilarious about Joe Biden picking her from all of the possible humans.

00:15:50.000 He picked her. 0.99

00:15:51.000 She's awful.

00:15:52.000 She's so bad, she dropped out of the primaries before she was even put up for a vote in her home state of California because she was going to win zero delegates. 1.00

00:15:59.000 But even in that particular clip, she lies.

00:16:01.000 The president never said coronavirus is a hoax.

00:16:02.000 That is a for Pinocchio claim, according to the Washington Post.

00:16:06.000 Does not matter.

00:16:06.000 And then she says that her plan is a national strategy on contact tracing and testing and development of vaccine.

00:16:12.000 Mike Pence answers, he's like, um, so basically that's our plan. 0.98

00:16:15.000 And you are a kind of liar a little bit.

00:16:19.000 I want the American people to know that from the very first day, President Donald Trump has put the health of America first. 0.97

00:16:28.000 Before there were more than five cases in the United States, all people who had returned from China, President Donald Trump did what no other American president had ever done, and that was he suspended all travel from China, the second largest economy in the world.

00:16:44.000 Now, Senator Joe Biden opposed that decision.

00:16:49.000 He said it was xenophobic and hysterical.

00:16:52.000 The reality is, when you look at the Biden plan, it reads an awful lot, like what President Trump and I and our task force have been doing every step of the way.

00:17:01.000 I mean, quite frankly, when I look at their plan that talks about advancing testing, creating new PPE, developing a vaccine, Um, it looks a little bit like plagiarism, which is something Joe Biden knows a little bit about.

00:17:17.000 That's a good line.

00:17:18.000 Then you get Kamala Harris laughing it off. 1.00

00:17:20.000 I don't know if... I mean, Harris has to know she's on split screen, right?

00:17:22.000 So all of her reactions last night were not particularly good.

00:17:25.000 So point number one goes to Pence, right?

00:17:28.000 He says immediately, your plan is the same as our plan.

00:17:31.000 And then you pretend that it's a plan.

00:17:32.000 It's not a plan. 0.97

00:17:33.000 Your entire plan is Trump is an orange man who is very bad. 0.86

00:17:36.000 And Harris knows immediately that she's in trouble.

00:17:39.000 And she tries to bring out the big guns. 1.00

00:17:40.000 The big guns for Kamala Harris are not All of the Trumpian policy mistakes or the terrible things that Trump has said over the years or his bad tweets.

00:17:48.000 The big gun for Harris is, I am woman.

00:17:51.000 Please, please, please leave me alone.

00:17:53.000 Which is the most anti-feminist thing you can say. 1.00

00:17:55.000 But she was waiting to bring it out.

00:17:57.000 She was waiting to bring it out.

00:17:58.000 And she couldn't wait like 10 minutes.

00:18:00.000 Seriously, within 10 minutes, she's like looking for an opportunity to Try to portray Mike Pence as some sort of bizarre debate predator.

00:18:08.000 Kamala, here's the deal.

00:18:09.000 You should be treated exactly like anyone else on that stage.

00:18:12.000 Mike Pence did not treat you differently because you are a woman. 0.67

00:18:16.000 You are not mansplained to.

00:18:17.000 A man explaining things is not mansplaining.

00:18:20.000 A man debating you is not mansplaining.

00:18:23.000 And you proclaiming that you are being victimized on the stage is a sign of weakness.

00:18:27.000 It is not a sign of female strength. 1.00

00:18:30.000 It is not.

00:18:32.000 We'll get to that in one second.

00:18:33.000 First, let us talk about an unfortunate topic, right?

00:18:36.000 Something people don't like to talk about.

00:19:39.000 Okay, so here it is.

00:19:40.000 Here was Kamala Harris. 0.99

00:19:42.000 You know, playing the victim card.

00:19:44.000 Here she was, claiming that Mike Pence was mansplaining to her.

00:19:48.000 It's so terrifying.

00:19:48.000 He's interrupting.

00:19:49.000 Here we go.

00:19:50.000 The vice president said, when asked, well, why didn't y'all tell anybody?

00:19:54.000 He said because the president wanted people to remain calm.

00:19:59.000 No, but Susan, this is important.

00:20:03.000 Mr. Vice President, I'm speaking.

00:20:04.000 I'm speaking.

00:20:06.000 What's amazing there is that Paige jumps in and interrupts Harris, right?

00:20:10.000 She says, Mr. Vice President, because she wants him to answer the charge.

00:20:14.000 And Pence then follows up on Paige saying, OK, I'd like to answer that.

00:20:19.000 And she immediately jumps to, I'm speaking here.

00:20:22.000 This is my floor.

00:20:23.000 I'm speaking here.

00:20:24.000 OK, here's the deal.

00:20:26.000 That is called like a normal debate.

00:20:28.000 And Susan Page was the first person to interrupt Kamala Harris in that tweet, in that particular clip.

00:20:33.000 The first time she brings out, and she kept bringing up this gun throughout the debate. 0.99

00:20:37.000 Whenever she felt she was losing, she went to, I'm trying to speak here.

00:20:40.000 I want my time.

00:20:41.000 After all the time was counted up, actually, there are a couple of different estimates.

00:20:45.000 At the very least, she got equal time with Pence.

00:20:47.000 And by some counts, she got three minutes more than Pence.

00:20:50.000 But apparently she was victimized.

00:20:52.000 I mean, that clip is astonishing.

00:20:53.000 Paige is the one who jumps in and then Penn says, OK, now it's my time.

00:20:57.000 No, no, I'm still speaking.

00:20:58.000 Mr. Vice President, I am speaking here.

00:21:00.000 I am speaking.

00:21:01.000 You're going to have to pick one.

00:21:04.000 Again, women are fully empowered.

00:21:06.000 It is wonderful that we have female VP candidates.

00:21:08.000 They should be treated just the same as everyone else.

00:21:11.000 Or, women must be treated as though they are weak creatures, incapable of handling a mild-mannered vice president saying to them, I'd like to answer that, please. 1.00

00:21:22.000 I mean, that's literally what Mike Pence says.

00:21:25.000 He says, I'd like to respond.

00:21:28.000 I'm sorry.

00:21:29.000 And as we'll see, this became the media narrative.

00:21:32.000 It's really, really incredible.

00:21:33.000 Okay, back to the debate.

00:21:35.000 So Kamala Harris starts talking with Mike Pence about vaccines.

00:21:41.000 And she's asked directly if she will take a vaccine.

00:21:43.000 And she keeps trotting out this nonsensical line about vaccines where she says, well, if Donald Trump tells me to take a vaccine, I won't.

00:21:48.000 But if doctors tell me to take a vaccine, I will.

00:21:50.000 What do you think?

00:21:50.000 Donald Trump is down in the basement cooking up the serum?

00:21:53.000 You think Donald Trump is like taking antibodies out of his own body and then he's making a virus, an antivirus, like Will Smith in I Am Legend?

00:21:59.000 Like that's how this is all going here at Kamala Harris?

00:22:02.000 Or is it true that under the Trump administration, Operation Warp Speed is developing a vaccine faster than any vaccine has been developed in human history?

00:22:10.000 And that he deserves some credit for that? 0.97

00:22:12.000 This is such a nonsensical and silly line. 0.92

00:22:13.000 Here is Harris talking about vaccines. 0.95

00:22:17.000 You respect the American people when you tell them the truth.

00:22:19.000 If the public health professionals, if Dr. Fauci, if the doctors tell us that we should take it, I'll be the first in line to take it.

00:22:28.000 But if Donald Trump tells us that we should take it, I'm not taking it.

00:22:28.000 Absolutely.

00:22:32.000 Okay, I have a question.

00:22:33.000 Does she actually think that Donald Trump is going to be out there, like, okay, you know this vaccine all my doctors are rejecting?

00:22:37.000 Go take it right now.

00:22:39.000 Right now.

00:22:40.000 Mike Pence properly calls her up, well, calls her out on this, and comes with smirks throughout.

00:22:45.000 Again, her performance last night was abysmal.

00:22:47.000 The media are trying to save her from herself. 0.75

00:22:48.000 They've been trying to do it for literally years at this point.

00:22:50.000 When she dropped out of the race, we got a bevy of articles.

00:22:53.000 The reality is that we're going to have a vaccine, Senator, in record time, in unheard of time, in less than a year.

00:22:57.000 We have five companies in phase three clinical trials, and we're right now producing tens of millions of doses.

00:23:00.000 the point, which is that she is actively dissuading people from taking a vaccine that we will need people to take. The reality is that we're going to have a vaccine, Senator, in record time, in unheard of time, in less than a year. We have five companies in phase three clinical trials, and we're right now producing tens of millions of doses. So the fact that you continue to undermine public confidence in a vaccine, if the vaccine emerges

00:23:29.000 during the Trump administration, I think is unconscionable.

00:23:34.000 And, Senator, I just ask you, stop playing politics with people's lives.

00:23:40.000 Okay, he is right about this.

00:23:41.000 And Kamala Harris couldn't stop smirking throughout.

00:23:44.000 This goes back to Al Gore.

00:23:45.000 There's not a sexist point that people shouldn't smirk while they're on split screens.

00:23:49.000 Smirking and shaking your head on split screens looks bad.

00:23:52.000 Kind of shaking your head ruefully doesn't look bad on a split screen.

00:23:55.000 Smirking looks terrible.

00:23:57.000 It looks smug and it looks obnoxious.

00:24:00.000 Kamala Harris was all of those things last night. 0.96

00:24:03.000 Okay, then they got to the issue of taxation.

00:24:04.000 So, recognize the first, like, third of the debate was all about COVID.

00:24:08.000 And Harris, basically her line was that Trump knew in late January, early February, this thing was airborne, it was dangerous.

00:24:14.000 Even Bob Woodward, who revealed that in his book, right, that Trump had said that sort of stuff.

00:24:18.000 Even Bob Woodward said publicly in interviews, we talked about it at the time, He said, I didn't believe that Trump knew all that.

00:24:23.000 I thought Trump was just bloviating because, again, nobody knew that.

00:24:26.000 There was not a single doctor, including Fauci, who was saying in early February the thing was airborne and that it was really dangerous for young people.

00:24:32.000 As it turns out, it is not particularly dangerous to young people.

00:24:35.000 And even now, there is controversy about just how airborne the virus is, right?

00:24:38.000 The CDC literally this week, this week, came out with information suggesting there might be an airborne component to this.

00:24:44.000 This week, the CDC said this.

00:24:46.000 It is now September.

00:24:46.000 It is not late January.

00:24:48.000 OK, so she relied a lot I'm Bob Woodward's book for various items of information.

00:24:53.000 But then they moved beyond COVID, and they got into taxes.

00:24:55.000 And here is where the debate really started to go sideways for Harris.

00:24:59.000 To this point, you could say that Harris sort of held her own, because on COVID, the fact is that the Trump administration's rhetoric has been bad, and the Trump administration's performance has been pretty good.

00:25:07.000 Because Pence is rhetorically much better than Trump, especially at this kind of stuff, he made the record look as good as you can make it when you have a president who is doing all the things that President Trump is doing.

00:25:17.000 Then they got to the economy, and this is where it all starts to fall apart for Kamala Harris. 0.89

00:25:23.000 So she starts talking about the issue of the economy.

00:25:29.000 This is clip eight.

00:25:31.000 She says that there could not be a more fundamental difference on the issue of the economy.

00:25:35.000 And in this particular segment of the debate, I mean, this was a car crash.

00:25:38.000 This was an absolute car crash.

00:25:40.000 This was a smart car against a big rig.

00:25:42.000 It just did not go well for Kamala Harris here. 1.00

00:25:44.000 Here was Harris trying to go off on Pence's economy, the Pence-Trump economy, the Trump-Pence economy.

00:25:49.000 And as you will see, Pence just was not having it.

00:25:53.000 On the issue of the economy, I think there couldn't be a more fundamental difference between Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

00:26:00.000 Joe Biden believes you measure the health and the strength of America's economy based on the health and the strength of the American worker and the American family.

00:26:10.000 On the other hand, you have Donald Trump, who measures the strength of the economy based on how rich people are doing.

00:26:17.000 On day one, Joe Biden will repeal that tax bill.

00:26:21.000 He'll get rid of it.

00:26:23.000 Okay.

00:26:23.000 And then, and then, as you'll see, as you'll see, Mike Pence just handed her hat to her.

00:26:29.000 And it's really bad.

00:26:31.000 So she says, again, again, for the 90th time, that the first day Biden is going to repeal Trump's tax cuts, There's only one problem with that.

00:26:40.000 When you say he's going to repeal the tax cuts, as it turns out, you're raising everybody's taxes.

00:26:44.000 This is a point that Mike Pence made with alacrity.

00:26:46.000 Harris tried to back off of it.

00:26:47.000 She stepped right in it, again, because they've been stepping in it all the time, but nobody's held them to account.

00:26:51.000 We'll see.

00:26:51.000 Mike Pence will do that in just one second.

00:26:53.000 But first, let's talk about the importance of quality clothing.

00:26:56.000 So, for better or worse, 2020 has kicked off the work-from-home era.

00:26:59.000 Everyone is asking one big question.

00:27:00.000 What exactly are you supposed to wear on that Zoom meeting?

00:27:03.000 Do you need to wear a tie?

00:27:03.000 Well, probably not.

00:27:04.000 But sweatpants and your go-to gym tee?

00:27:06.000 That doesn't feel right either.

00:27:07.000 What you need is Cuts clothing.

00:27:08.000 It's the perfect solution to your work-from-home wardrobe confusion.

00:27:12.000 Cuts is the best in the world at making technical apparel for the sport of business.

00:27:16.000 Their t-shirts, polos, and hoodies have enough quality and style to wear in the office, on a date, anywhere in between, so you don't have to choose between a classic look and a modern feel.

00:27:23.000 After four years of development, Cuts has finally released their new polos and hoodies.

00:27:27.000 The new Pika Polo was designed in Los Angeles with custom engineered Pika Pro fabric that keeps you fitted for the daily work grind, a happy hour escape, everything in between.

00:27:36.000 They've got new hoodies that are made with their custom Hyperloop French Terry fabric.

00:27:40.000 They were designed with comfort in mind, lasting structure for the long haul.

00:27:42.000 This stuff is durable.

00:27:43.000 It is lovely to wear.

00:27:44.000 I mean, really, it fits you exactly right.

00:27:46.000 It is extraordinarily comfortable.

00:27:48.000 I only wear Cuts at this point.

00:27:49.000 All my T-shirts are Cuts.

00:27:50.000 Cuts is loved by your favorite athletes, entrepreneurs, even your favorite podcast host.

00:27:54.000 Seems like everybody is wearing Cuts.

00:27:55.000 Get 15% off your first order by going to cutsclothing.com slash Shapiro.

00:27:59.000 That is cutsclothing.com slash Shapiro for 15% off the only shirt worth wearing. 0.98

00:28:04.000 Okay, so Kamala Harris suggests that the Trump economy is bad and that Trump only cares about the wealthy, and Pence just destroys her on it. 0.98

00:28:15.000 Despite what Senator Harris says, the average American family of four had $2,000 in savings and taxes.

00:28:22.000 The average household income for a family of four increased by $4,000 following President Trump's tax cuts.

00:28:28.000 But America, you just heard Senator Harris tell you, on day one, Joe Biden's gonna raise your taxes.

00:28:35.000 Okay, and then she starts smirking, and you get the Kamala Harris giggle, the weird, strange joker giggle.

00:28:42.000 Okay, and then she, again, she knows she's caught.

00:28:46.000 Every time she was caught last night, she played the I'm a woman, stop interrupting me card.

00:28:50.000 She woman-splained to Mike Pence about how debate is not supposed to be debate as long as a woman is there. 1.00

00:28:56.000 I do find, by the way, all this man-splaining, women are victims stuff pretty amusing from a party that suggests that men can be women, that gender is completely a social construct, and that women do not exist.

00:29:04.000 In fact, men and women are arbitrary categories decided by society rather than by biology, which means that I suppose that Kamala Harris could man-splain to Mike Pence anytime she pleases simply by identifying as a man.

00:29:14.000 But in any case, here was Kamala Harris Trying to walk back the simple fact, which is, if you repeal Trump's tax cuts, then you end up repealing tax cuts for 82% of Americans who received a tax cut.

00:29:25.000 Here was Kamala Harris trying to walk it back, and then Pence tries to interject, and once again, she does the, you're interrupting me. 1.00

00:29:31.000 Stop interrupting me!

00:29:33.000 Here she was.

00:29:35.000 Joe Biden has been very clear.

00:29:37.000 He will not raise taxes on anybody who makes less than $400,000 a year.

00:29:40.000 He said he would repeal the Trump tax cuts.

00:29:42.000 Mr. Vice President, I'm speaking.

00:29:45.000 I'm speaking.

00:29:45.000 It'd be important if you said the truth.

00:29:48.000 Joe Biden has said twice in the debate last week that he's going to repeal the Trump tax cuts.

00:29:54.000 That was tax cuts that gave the average working family $2,000 in a tax break every single year.

00:30:00.000 Senator, that's the math.

00:30:02.000 That is absolutely not true.

00:30:04.000 Is he only going to repeal part of the Trump tax cuts?

00:30:07.000 If you don't mind letting me finish, we can then have a conversation, OK?

00:30:11.000 Please.

00:30:12.000 OK.

00:30:12.000 Again, she gets caught out and she has nowhere to go.

00:30:15.000 This is another aspect of her performance last night.

00:30:17.000 She kept basically saying, I want my time back.

00:30:19.000 I want my time.

00:30:20.000 Let me answer.

00:30:21.000 And then Joe Biden did this in debate too early on.

00:30:24.000 He would do this routine where he's like, I'm not finished yet.

00:30:26.000 I want to say my piece.

00:30:27.000 And then everybody would stop and be like, Yeah, and that's what she did.

00:30:34.000 That's the best part.

00:30:35.000 She's like, I'd like to finish.

00:30:36.000 I'd like to finish.

00:30:37.000 And then he says, OK, let go.

00:30:39.000 And she's like, uh, but I was basically like, I mean, can we all just acknowledge that what I was really doing here was just trying to call you a sexist?

00:30:46.000 Like, can we really acknowledge that?

00:30:48.000 OK, then.

00:30:49.000 Pence continued to hammer home this point.

00:30:51.000 I mean, on the economy, he just, he had his editor rights on the economy.

00:30:54.000 So he continued to hammer home this point.

00:30:56.000 She was saying, again, that she was not going to raise taxes, that she and Biden will not raise taxes on people, which, of course, is a lie.

00:31:04.000 Also, she was saying that she's not going to ban fracking.

00:31:06.000 Joe Biden has said it repeatedly, that he looks to get rid of fracking.

00:31:09.000 She herself has said repeatedly that she is looking to get rid of fracking.

00:31:13.000 Even the fact-checkers who somehow suggest that the Biden-Harris campaign is only looking to get rid of new leases on public land are failing to recognize that all that Harris and Biden have been saying the whole time is that that is a transitional plan toward getting rid of fossil fuels entirely.

00:31:29.000 I mean, they've been very consistent on this point.

00:31:31.000 Here was Mike Pence hammering this home.

00:31:35.000 You're entitled to your own opinion, but you're not entitled to your own facts.

00:31:38.000 You yourself said on multiple occasions when you were running for president that you would ban fracking.

00:31:45.000 Joe Biden looked at a supporter in the eye and pointed and said, I guarantee, I guarantee that we will abolish fossil fuels.

00:31:54.000 They have a $2 trillion version of the Green New Deal, Susan, that your newspaper, USA Today, said really wasn't that very different from the original Green New Deal.

00:32:03.000 Again, Kamala Harris looked terrible on the split screen because she kept breaking out the smirk and the laughter. 1.00

00:32:09.000 shape recovery that's underway right now will continue with four more years of President Donald Trump. Again Kamala Harris looked terrible on the split screen because she kept breaking out the smirk and the laughter. That is every interview she has ever done when she breaks that out she's losing and she was losing last night and losing badly. 1.00

00:32:27.000 He kept also hammering home on the Green New Deal.

00:32:30.000 So, so Page, Susan Page, asked, asked Kamala Harris about Joe Biden and the Green New Deal.

00:32:36.000 This was actually a very good question from Susan Page, the first time I've seen them called on it, in which she says, you know, Joe Biden denied that he's in favor of the Green New Deal.

00:32:42.000 His website literally describes the Green New Deal.

00:32:45.000 So what's the deal here?

00:32:47.000 What's the deal?

00:32:47.000 And then Pence doubles down on it.

00:32:48.000 Harris I gotta say, I'm not sure which was more stunning.

00:32:53.000 How well Pence performed or how badly Harris performed.

00:32:56.000 I think probably the latter because expectations for Harris were much higher than expectations for Pence.

00:33:00.000 But it was a mismatch last night.

00:33:03.000 It was.

00:33:03.000 This was a heavyweight with a lightweight.

00:33:05.000 It was that simple.

00:33:06.000 She has knowledge of issues that goes about half an inch deep and it does not go a mile wide.

00:33:11.000 Here was Susan Page unintentionally finishing Kamala Harris on the Green New Deal. 1.00

00:33:16.000 Vice President Biden said in last week's debate that he does not support the Green New Deal.

00:33:21.000 But if you look at the Biden-Harris campaign website, it describes the Green New Deal as a crucial framework.

00:33:28.000 Joe believes, again, in science.

00:33:30.000 We have seen a pattern with this administration, which is they don't believe in science.

00:33:34.000 And Joe's plan is about saying, we're going to deal with it, but we're also going to create jobs.

00:33:38.000 You were the first Senate co-sponsor of the Green New Deal.

00:33:42.000 And while Joe Biden denied the Green New Deal, Susan, thank you for pointing out the Green New Deal is on their campaign website.

00:33:49.000 Okay, there's a reason that Pence kept hammering home on the Green New Deal.

00:33:52.000 The Green New Deal is a debacle.

00:33:54.000 It is spending, by AOC's plan, some $93 trillion over 10 years.

00:33:59.000 Okay, so he hammered the Green New Deal.

00:34:01.000 I think he mentioned the Green New Deal 15 times.

00:34:04.000 Last night.

00:34:05.000 And correctly so.

00:34:06.000 So another issue on which Pence just excoriated her.

00:34:09.000 Then they got to the issue of China.

00:34:11.000 So both candidates were asked about China.

00:34:12.000 Kamala Harris had no answer other than to say, and she really said this, she said that Xi Jinping was more popular internationally than Donald Trump.

00:34:18.000 First of all, the image of China around the world has been in steady decline, as it should be, because it's a tyrannical hellhole. 1.00

00:34:24.000 I mean, in terms of how it is run.

00:34:28.000 Tyrant Xi Jinping has been subjecting a million Uyghur Muslims to concentration camps.

00:34:33.000 He has been, you know, basically welding people in their houses in Wuhan.

00:34:37.000 He cares nothing about his citizenry.

00:34:38.000 He's a dictator. 0.94

00:34:39.000 He's a dictator.

00:34:40.000 Kamala Harris defended the dictator.

00:34:42.000 At one point, she suggested that Trump had lost the trade war with China.

00:34:46.000 And Pence had a great rebuttal to this.

00:34:49.000 The vice president earlier referred to, as part of what he thinks is an accomplishment, the president's trade war with China.

00:34:58.000 You lost that trade war.

00:35:00.000 You lost it.

00:35:01.000 Lost the trade war with China?

00:35:04.000 Joe Biden never fought it.

00:35:06.000 And he correctly kept pointing out that the Biden campaign, the Biden administration was very, very soft on China.

00:35:12.000 How do you know, by the way, that Pence is right?

00:35:14.000 We could fact check this in real time, as it turns out.

00:35:16.000 It turns out that the debate was broadcast on Chinese television.

00:35:20.000 Every time Pence talked about China and the predations of China and the corruption of China and how China was responsible for the spread of coronavirus, China blocked the feed.

00:35:29.000 Really, this is true.

00:35:31.000 Every time Kamala Harris talked about China, the feed came back on.

00:35:35.000 Doesn't that say something about how the Chinese government views the two candidates?

00:35:39.000 When Pence talks about the predations of China, China blocks the feed.

00:35:43.000 When Kamala Harris talks about China, they're like...

00:35:46.000 Slow clap.

00:35:47.000 If China views you that way, it's a good indicator those people should not be in power.

00:35:52.000 In just a second, we're going to go to trade and we're going to go to the personal liberalism of Kamala Harris and foreign policy.

00:35:59.000 I mean, on foreign policy, again, The Trump administration, without the Trumpian affect, is excellent.

00:36:07.000 Very, very good.

00:36:08.000 If you like what you saw last night from Mike Pence, then what you should want is more of that.

00:36:12.000 Not more distraction.

00:36:14.000 Not more mind-melting tweets.

00:36:15.000 Not more of that.

00:36:17.000 Okay, if Donald Trump used his Twitter sparingly, and if he used it in targeted fashion, I'd be a huge fan.

00:36:24.000 What we saw last night is what it looks like when the Trump administration policy is explicated outside of Twitter.

00:36:30.000 And it looked pretty damned good.

00:36:31.000 It looked pretty damned good. 0.54

00:36:33.000 Which is why the media today are talking about nothing but a fly landing on Mike Pence's head, and maybe his pink eye. 0.56

00:36:38.000 And Kamala Harris being the victim of sexism. 0.99

00:36:39.000 Those are the three themes of the media, which means Pence cleaned her last night.

00:36:43.000 We're gonna get to more of this in just one second.

00:38:53.000 ♪♪ Okay, so moving from domestic policy to foreign policy, the story didn't get any better for Kamala Harris. 0.95

00:39:02.000 She talked about foreign policy, and everything she says here is just ridiculous. 0.95

00:39:08.000 Like, patently ridiculous on his face. 0.98

00:39:09.000 Here was Kamala Harris being absurd. 0.98

00:39:11.000 Just absurd.

00:39:13.000 The Biden foreign policy case is that Biden has been wrong on every major foreign policy issue of the last 30 years.

00:39:18.000 Seriously, it is difficult to imagine anyone who has ever been more wrong on foreign policy.

00:39:22.000 This is a guy who did not want to kill Osama Bin Laden.

00:39:24.000 This is a guy who's very much in favor of the Iran deal.

00:39:26.000 This is a person whose great suggestion, repeatedly, is that whenever there's a problem, we should just split countries apart.

00:39:32.000 Here is Kamala Harris, though, trying to pretend that Joe Biden is some sort of foreign policy genius, when in fact, the guy is as much of a... He's the Ralph Wiggum of foreign policy.

00:39:39.000 Here is Kamala Harris trying to spin Ralph Wiggum into Mr. Burns. 0.99

00:39:44.000 I love talking with Joe about a lot of these issues.

00:39:47.000 And, you know, Joe, I think he said it quite well.

00:39:49.000 He says, you know, foreign policy, it might sound complicated, but really it's relationships.

00:39:54.000 Just think about it as relationships.

00:39:56.000 And so we know this in our personal and professional relationships.

00:40:00.000 You've got to keep your word to your friends.

00:40:01.000 You've got to be loyal to your friends.

00:40:04.000 People who have stood with you, you've got to stand with them.

00:40:07.000 You've got to know who your adversaries are and keep them in check.

00:40:12.000 But what we have seen with Donald Trump is that he has betrayed our friends and embraced dictators around the world.

00:40:24.000 We were in the Iran nuclear deal with friends, with allies around the country.

00:40:30.000 Okay, so there are a few things here that are hilarious.

00:40:33.000 One, he says, we were in the Iran nuclear deal with friends and with allies around the country.

00:40:37.000 Okay, number one, you may have had some Europeans in on that deal.

00:40:41.000 You were also in the deal with the Iranians, with the Iranian mullahs, who are not your friends. 0.99

00:40:44.000 They are terrorists.

00:40:46.000 And when she says you got to keep your word to your friends, the Obama-Biden administration was the most anti-Israel administration in American history. 0.86

00:40:52.000 They literally tried to withdraw defense equipment from Israel in the middle of a war with Hamas.

00:40:57.000 They were awful.

00:40:59.000 They betrayed Eastern European allies in the face of Russian predation. 0.67

00:41:04.000 The Obama-Biden foreign policy was a full-scale disaster on virtually every level.

00:41:10.000 And this is something that Mike Pence then proceeded to point out.

00:41:14.000 This foreign policy section debate went really, really poorly for Kamala Harris.

00:41:18.000 Here's Mike Pence.

00:41:20.000 President Trump kept his word when we moved the American Embassy to Jerusalem.

00:41:24.000 We've stood strong with our allies, but we've been demanding.

00:41:27.000 NATO is now contributing more to our common defense than ever before thanks to President Trump's leadership.

00:41:34.000 We've strengthened our alliances across the Asia-Pacific.

00:41:37.000 President Trump Unleash the American military, and our armed forces destroy the ISIS caliphate and took down their leader al-Baghdadi without one American casualty.

00:41:47.000 The last administration transferred $1.8 billion to the leading state sponsor of terrorism.

00:41:53.000 Thank you, Vice President Pence.

00:41:54.000 President Donald Trump got us out of the deal.

00:41:56.000 Thank you, Vice President Pence.

00:41:58.000 And when Qasem Soleimani was traveling to Baghdad to harm two Americans, President Donald Trump took him out.

00:42:05.000 Thank you, Vice President.

00:42:06.000 Okay.

00:42:06.000 And of course, this is exactly right.

00:42:08.000 The fact is that the Trump foreign policy agenda is so much better.

00:42:08.000 Okay.

00:42:12.000 I mean, it is the highlight.

00:42:13.000 It really is.

00:42:13.000 It's one of the highlights of the Trump administration.

00:42:16.000 And then Pence really hit Kamala Harris where it hurts.

00:42:20.000 He pointed out that the Obama administration allowed the rise of ISIS.

00:42:25.000 And he points to the story of Kayla Mueller, who was taken prisoner by the ISIS terrorists and then murdered.

00:42:32.000 And her family saying quite openly that if Donald Trump had been president, that never would have happened.

00:42:37.000 When Joe Biden was vice president, we had an opportunity to save Kayla Miller.

00:42:41.000 It breaks my heart to reflect on it, but the military came into the Oval Office, presented a plan.

00:42:47.000 They said they knew where Kayla was.

00:42:50.000 Baghdadi had held her for 18 months, abused her mercilessly before they killed her.

00:42:56.000 But when Joe Biden was vice president, they hesitated for a month.

00:43:00.000 And when armed forces finally went in, it was clear she'd been moved two days earlier.

00:43:05.000 And her family says with a heart that broke the heart of every American that if President Donald Trump had been president, they believed Kayla would be alive today.

00:43:15.000 Harris had no comeback for that.

00:43:17.000 She said, oh, well, condolences to Kayla Mueller's family.

00:43:19.000 That's pretty much it.

00:43:20.000 That's pretty much it.

00:43:21.000 So Harris's response to all of this is that Donald Trump is personally mean to the military.

00:43:24.000 She relied very heavily on an Atlantic story that has been debunked by 14 different sources.

00:43:28.000 There are a bunch of people who know Trump. 1.00

00:43:30.000 He did not say of people at Arlington National Cemetery that they were suckers and losers. 0.99

00:43:37.000 All of this is from an Atlantic story that was unsourced. 0.96

00:43:40.000 It was a bunch of Unverified sources, unnamed sources, okay?

00:43:44.000 And then there were people like John Bolton, who are no friends of Trump, who said, no, he never said anything.

00:43:48.000 He didn't cancel a visit to a gravesite in Europe because of his dislike for fallen soldiers or anything.

00:43:55.000 It was raining outside and it provided some actual problems for security.

00:44:01.000 That was her line, right?

00:44:02.000 Her line is Trump is mean to the military, of course.

00:44:04.000 And then she did this weird thing where she somehow disagreed with the killing of Qasem Soleimani, which was very odd.

00:44:10.000 So here was Kamala Harris. 1.00

00:44:12.000 Again, most of her attack lines last night were from two things, the Bob Woodward book and the Atlantic story.

00:44:17.000 That's pretty much what she had. 0.99

00:44:19.000 This is about a pattern of Donald Trump's, where he has referred to our men who are serving in our military as suckers and losers. 0.96

00:44:29.000 Donald Trump, who went to Arlington Cemetery and stood above the graves of our fallen heroes and said, what's in it for them? 0.97

00:44:44.000 Because, of course, you know, he only thinks about what's in it for him.

00:44:48.000 Let's take what he said about John McCain, a great American hero, public reporting that Russia had bounties on the heads of American soldiers.

00:45:00.000 Okay, we can stop there.

00:45:01.000 So a few things here.

00:45:02.000 One, I'm not going to hear about criticisms of John McCain from Democrats, who literally suggested that he was a racist back in 2008, and also that he was a decrepit person who couldn't use a keyboard when he had war injuries.

00:45:14.000 Also, that public reporting about Russian bounties is completely unverified.

00:45:17.000 In fact, that story basically fell apart.

00:45:19.000 Pence then knocked the Biden-Harris campaign on the fact that Joe Biden was against the killing of Osama bin Laden.

00:45:26.000 Trump made the call to kill Soleimani, correct call, and Biden held up when it came time to kill Osama bin Laden. 0.99

00:45:31.000 Qasem Soleimani, the Iranian general, was responsible for the death of hundreds of American service members.

00:45:41.000 When the opportunity came, we saw him headed to Baghdad to kill more Americans. 0.98

00:45:45.000 President Trump didn't hesitate, and Qasem Soleimani is gone.

00:45:50.000 But you deserve to know that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris actually criticized the decision to take out Qasem Soleimani.

00:45:59.000 It's really inexplicable.

00:46:00.000 But with regard to Joe Biden, it's explainable, because history records that Joe Biden actually opposed the raid against Osama bin Laden.

00:46:09.000 I have a question.

00:46:09.000 What is she shaking her head at?

00:46:10.000 She literally one second before said it was bad to kill Soleimani.

00:46:14.000 What's she shaking her head at?

00:46:15.000 Okay, then they moved to the Supreme Court.

00:46:17.000 And on the Supreme Court, once again, it was a giant fail for Kamala Harris. 1.00

00:46:23.000 So Pence began by pointing out that it was Kamala Harris who savaged Justice Kavanaugh. 1.00

00:46:28.000 and was brutal and vicious and lying about Justice Kavanaugh.

00:46:31.000 And he said, I hope that you don't treat Amy Coney Barrett with the same sort of disdain, especially people like you who have been ripping on people for their religion because you have actually ripped on federal judicial appointees who are members of things like the Knights of Columbus, calling them bigoted groups.

00:46:44.000 Here was Pence going after Harris.

00:46:46.000 President Trump and I could not be more enthusiastic about the opportunity to see Judge Amy Coney Barrett become Justice Amy Coney Barrett.

00:46:54.000 She's a brilliant woman.

00:46:56.000 And she will bring a lifetime of experience and a sizable American family to the Supreme Court of the United States. 0.99

00:47:04.000 And our hope is in the hearing next week, unlike Justice Kavanaugh received with treatment from you and others, we hope she gets a fair hearing.

00:47:13.000 And we particularly hope that we don't see the kind of attacks on her Christian faith that we saw before.

00:47:20.000 Senator, I know one of our judicial nominees you actually attacked because they were a member of the Catholic Knights of Columbus.

00:47:27.000 Okay, what's hilarious about this is that her response was, I'm a person of faith.

00:47:31.000 How dare you suggest that I would attack a person of faith?

00:47:34.000 You literally attacked somebody for being a member of the Knights of Columbus.

00:47:37.000 This does not hold water here from Kamala Harris.

00:47:39.000 Joe Biden and I are both people of faith, and it's insulting to suggest that we would knock anyone for their faith.

00:47:49.000 On the issue of this nomination, Joe and I are very clear, as are the majority of the American people, We are 27 days before the decision about who will be the next president of the United States.

00:48:03.000 And, you know, before when this conversation has come up, you know, it's been about election year or election time.

00:48:09.000 We're literally in an election.

00:48:11.000 There's the issue of choice.

00:48:13.000 And I will always fight for a woman's right to make a decision about her own body.

00:48:17.000 This is my favorite thing.

00:48:18.000 I would never attack anybody for their religion.

00:48:20.000 But also, there should be taxpayer-funded abortion and religious institutions should be forced to cover insurance that covers abortion.

00:48:26.000 So yes, I'm sure that your religious qualms would never prevent you from doing anything like that, Kamala Harris.

00:48:33.000 But when it came to court packing, this is really where it got ugly.

00:48:35.000 So she once again refused to answer whether she would pack to court.

00:48:38.000 And Pence really pushed her on it.

00:48:40.000 And she refused.

00:48:42.000 I mean, over and over and over again.

00:48:44.000 She kept saying, we're voting.

00:48:45.000 We're voting.

00:48:46.000 Yes, we know we're voting and we should know what we are voting for.

00:48:48.000 It makes a difference whether you and Joe Biden are going to change the number of people on the Supreme Court out of a pure revenge move because you don't like the fact that Ruth Bader Ginsburg died and Trump was in office.

00:48:58.000 So Pence pushed her on this.

00:48:59.000 And finally, he got a response from her.

00:49:01.000 She had no response.

00:49:02.000 She really didn't.

00:49:03.000 And so finally, she went to her default responses. 0.99

00:49:06.000 Her default responses throughout this debate were, you're a sexist, you're a sexist, stop interrupting me, you're a sexist. 1.00

00:49:11.000 And then finally, she went to her big gun, right? 0.99

00:49:13.000 You were waiting for her to go.

00:49:14.000 That was the little gun.

00:49:14.000 That was the Derringer.

00:49:15.000 Then she finally went to the shotgun.

00:49:16.000 The shotgun was, you're a rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Okay, I have a question.

00:49:22.000 I have a question.

00:49:23.000 Right. That's what she thought.

00:49:25.000 You knew she was going here and she finally got there.

00:49:27.000 How did she get there in the most bizarre possible fashion?

00:49:29.000 So she was like, are we going to pack the court?

00:49:31.000 Are we going to pack the court? 0.92

00:49:33.000 You're not appointing enough black justices. 1.00

00:49:35.000 OK, I have a question.

00:49:36.000 I have a question.

00:49:38.000 You like Clarence Thomas, do you?

00:49:40.000 Really?

00:49:41.000 How about if we appointed, like, Miguel Estrada?

00:49:44.000 You know, more people of color.

00:49:46.000 Because it seems like you treat black Republicans really well over there, Kamala.

00:49:50.000 It seems like you would care deeply if we appointed a bunch of textualists and originalists to the bench. 0.90

00:49:55.000 And if they were black, you'd be fine with that. 1.00

00:49:57.000 Or, alternatively, you're just a damned liar. 1.00

00:49:58.000 So here she was last night. 1.00

00:50:00.000 She wouldn't answer on court packing. 0.99

00:50:01.000 But in the end, it's Mike Pence's fault because the judges who are being appointed are not black enough or some such bullcrap. 0.98

00:50:08.000 You once again gave a non-answer. 0.98

00:50:10.000 Joe Biden gave a non-answer.

00:50:11.000 I'm trying to answer you now.

00:50:12.000 The American people deserve a straight answer.

00:50:14.000 And if you haven't figured it out yet, the straight answer is they are going to pack the Supreme Court if they somehow win this election.

00:50:21.000 Men and women, I've got to tell you, people across this country, if you cherish our Supreme Court, if you cherish the separation of powers, you need to reject the Biden-Harris ticket.

00:50:30.000 Yeah, let's talk about packing the court then.

00:50:33.000 Let's talk about the fact- Please.

00:50:35.000 Yeah, I'm about to.

00:50:36.000 Do you know that of the 50 people who President Trump appointed to the Court of Appeals for lifetime appointments, not one is black?

00:50:47.000 I just want the record to reflect she never answered the question.

00:50:50.000 Right, which is exactly- No, I'm about to.

00:50:53.000 I'm about to answer the question.

00:50:55.000 I'm about to. 1.00

00:50:56.000 Also, you're a racist! 0.99

00:50:58.000 Good answering the question there, Kamala. 1.00

00:50:59.000 And the media just let her get away with this crap. 1.00

00:51:01.000 They just let her get away with this crap. 1.00

00:51:04.000 Okay, the debate moved on to other topics. 0.99

00:51:07.000 So, some of the hotly fraught topics that came up in the debate last night.

00:51:11.000 One was the issue of race.

00:51:12.000 So, the moderator brought up the case of Breonna Taylor and said, was Breonna Taylor's, you know, the acquittal of the officers, was that justified?

00:51:19.000 And Kamala Harris, great legal mind, Her life was taken. 0.73

00:51:21.000 No, no, no, no, it was not justified.

00:51:24.000 It was not justified.

00:51:25.000 And then she talked, I couldn't believe this.

00:51:27.000 She actually talked about, you know, she talked about George Floyd.

00:51:30.000 And she said, the number of lies in this particular clip is extraordinary.

00:51:34.000 I mean, it's almost infinite.

00:51:36.000 It's like packing all of the dense matter of the universe into a single point before the big bang, except all of the matter is lies and the single point is this clip.

00:51:42.000 Here's Kamala Harris saying a bunch of untrue things in a row. 0.78

00:51:45.000 Her life was taken, unjustifiably and tragically and violently.

00:51:50.000 And it just, it brings me to, you know, the eight minutes and 46 seconds that America witnessed, during which an American man was tortured and killed under the knee of an armed, uniformed police officer.

00:52:11.000 Thanks for watching!

00:52:14.000 And people around our country of every race, Of every age, of every gender, perfect strangers to each other, marched shoulder to shoulder, arm in arm, fighting for us to finally achieve that ideal of equal justice under law.

00:52:35.000 And I was a part of those peaceful protests.

00:52:38.000 We need reform of our policing in America and our criminal justice system, which is why Joe and I will immediately ban chokeholds and carotid holes.

00:52:47.000 She said that George Floyd would be alive if that legislation had passed.

00:52:50.000 Okay, there's only one problem.

00:52:50.000 George Floyd, in all likelihood, would not be alive if that legislation had passed because he was not put in either a carotid or a chokehold.

00:52:56.000 And he died because he was on a dose of fentanyl that would kill a horse.

00:53:00.000 The autopsy found that he had fentanyl and meth in his system.

00:53:02.000 He was obviously experiencing excited delirium in the middle of that encounter.

00:53:06.000 When it comes to Breonna Taylor, it is tragic that she was killed.

00:53:09.000 She was killed because her boyfriend was firing a gun at the cops when they broke in the door in a legally performed search warrant.

00:53:16.000 And it is amazing to me that Democrats will simultaneously claim that outdoor open air events at the White House are very, very, very bad and very, very dangerous.

00:53:23.000 OK, fine.

00:53:24.000 And you don't get to talk about how you were marching shoulder to shoulder in the middle of a pandemic with millions of other people in a fight for, quote unquote, racial justice and completely overlooked the violence in the streets.

00:53:33.000 Here's Mike Pence pointing out many of these things.

00:53:35.000 It really is remarkable that as a former prosecutor, you would assume that an impaneled grand jury looking at all the evidence got it wrong.

00:53:43.000 But you're entitled to your opinion, Senator.

00:53:47.000 I think with regard to George Floyd, there's no excuse for what happened to George Floyd, and justice will be served.

00:53:56.000 But there's also no excuse for the rioting and looting that followed.

00:54:02.000 I mean, it really is astonishing.

00:54:04.000 Flora Westbrook is with us here tonight in Salt Lake City.

00:54:08.000 Just a few weeks ago, I stood at what used to be her salon.

00:54:13.000 It was burned to the ground.

00:54:16.000 By rioters and looters.

00:54:18.000 And Flora is still trying to put her life back together.

00:54:23.000 And I must tell you, this presumption that you hear consistently from Joe Biden and Kamala Harris that America is systemically racist, and that, as Joe Biden said, that he believes that law enforcement has an implicit bias against minorities, is a great insult to the men and women who serve in law enforcement.

00:54:50.000 And I want everyone to know who puts on the uniform of law enforcement every day that President Trump and I stand with you.

00:54:57.000 And it is remarkable that when Senator Tim Scott tried to pass a police reform bill, brought together a group of Republicans and Democrats, Senator Harris, you got up and walked out of the room.

00:55:10.000 And then you filibustered Senator Tim Scott's bill.

00:55:14.000 Okay, and that prompted her to bring up the great Trump loves white supremacists lie.

00:55:19.000 Again, so this was the pattern last night. 0.98

00:55:21.000 Everybody's a sexist for being mean to me, and then everybody's a racist for being mean to me. 0.68

00:55:25.000 So Harris immediately went to, well, Trump was never, he didn't condemn white supremacists. 0.88

00:55:30.000 And good for Mike Pence.

00:55:31.000 Mike Pence actually debunked this.

00:55:32.000 Now, here is the point at which the media starts to go nuts.

00:55:35.000 Why?

00:55:35.000 Well, because Kamala Harris is losing.

00:55:36.000 And as you'll see, there was a fly that landed on Mike Pence's head.

00:55:39.000 Ooh, a fly!

00:55:40.000 Well, I guess that we all have to go crazy over the fly, guys.

00:55:42.000 There's a fly on Mike Pence's head. 1.00

00:55:46.000 This is how stupid our politics are. 1.00

00:55:47.000 Our political analysts last night did not want to talk about the actual contents of the debate because Kamala Harris did terribly. 1.00

00:55:53.000 Instead, what they really, really wanted more than anything else in the world was to talk about this dumb fly on Mike Pence's head. 0.90

00:56:00.000 So here is Kamala Harris suggesting that Trump won't condemn white supremacists. 0.95

00:56:03.000 And then we'll get to Mike Pence completely rebutting this and going after the media.

00:56:06.000 This performance by Pence was excellent.

00:56:08.000 It was very, very good.

00:56:09.000 Here was Harris trotting out the Trump loves white supremacists lie.

00:56:13.000 I will not sit here and be lectured by the vice president on what it means to enforce the laws of our country.

00:56:19.000 I am the only one on this stage Who has personally prosecuted everything from child sexual assault to homicide.

00:56:26.000 The President of the United States took a debate stage in front of 70 million Americans and refused to condemn white supremacists. 0.99

00:56:34.000 He called Mexicans rapists and criminals. 0.99

00:56:38.000 He instituted as his first act a Muslim ban. 0.97

00:56:42.000 He, on the issue of Charlottesville, where people were peacefully protesting, The need for racial justice, where a young woman was killed, and on the other side there were neo-Nazis carrying tiki torches, shouting racial epithets, antisemitic slurs, and Donald Trump, when asked about it, said, They were fine people on both sides. 0.97

00:57:09.000 Okay, here is Mike Pence completely debunking this ridiculous talking point. 0.97

00:57:13.000 It is a ridiculous talking point. 0.99

00:57:14.000 Also, listening to Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party talk about anti-Semitic slurs while they maintain Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar and they continue to promote these anti-Semitic dullards is pretty impressive. 0.98

00:57:25.000 Here's Pence going after Harris.

00:57:27.000 You know, I think this is one of the things that makes people dislike the media so much in this country, Susan, is that you selectively edit, just like Senator Harris did, comments that President Trump and I and others on our side of the aisle make.

00:57:41.000 I mean, Senator Harris conveniently omitted after the president made comments about people on either side of the debate over monuments.

00:57:49.000 He condemned the KKK, neo-Nazis and white supremacists and has done so repeatedly.

00:57:56.000 You're concerned that he doesn't condemn neo-Nazis.

00:58:00.000 President Trump has Jewish grandchildren.

00:58:02.000 I'm glad you brought up your record, Senator.

00:58:04.000 Thank you.

00:58:05.000 I really need to make this point.

00:58:07.000 When you were DA in San Francisco, when you left office, African Americans were 19 times more likely to be prosecuted for minor drug offenses than whites and Hispanics.

00:58:20.000 When you were Attorney General of California, you increased the disproportionate incarceration of blacks in California.

00:58:28.000 You did nothing on criminal justice reform in California.

00:58:31.000 You didn't lift a finger to pass the First Step Act on Capitol Hill.

00:58:35.000 I mean, the reality is your record speaks for itself.

00:58:38.000 She's caught out.

00:58:39.000 You can tell her starting to chuckle there.

00:58:41.000 That's the Tulsi Gabbard attack.

00:58:42.000 She still has not found an answer to the Tulsi Gabbard attack.

00:58:45.000 So Pence, stellar performance.

00:58:46.000 Kamala Harris, really, really, truly terrible performance.

00:58:49.000 Now, how do you know for a fact that it was a truly terrible performance by Kamala Harris?

00:58:54.000 You can tell by the media coverage.

00:58:55.000 So the media coverage was completely about how Kamala Harris was the victim of a racist attack.

00:59:00.000 So CNN did a post-debate snap poll where it said that 6 in 10 said Harris won, 38% said Mike Pence had a better night.

00:59:08.000 Well, going in, 61% said they thought Harris would win and 36% thought Pence would win.

00:59:12.000 So basically nobody changed their mind.

00:59:14.000 Big shocker there because everybody is really sort of ensconced in their particular corner.

00:59:19.000 Which just shows how much this whole campaign has been dominated by the personality of President Trump.

00:59:24.000 But you can tell by how the media are covering this who they think won.

00:59:27.000 New York Times headline, a fly landed on Mike Pence's head during the VP debate for two minutes.

00:59:31.000 The Hill, Biden fund raises off a fly on Pence's head.

00:59:34.000 CNN, fly lands on Mike Pence's head during debate.

00:59:37.000 Vox, the fly on Mike Pence's head was the real winner of the 2020 vice presidential debate.

00:59:41.000 Washington Post, an exclusive interview with the fly from the debate.

00:59:46.000 Joe Biden tweeted out a picture of himself with a fly swatter saying he wanted to fundraise.

00:59:50.000 First of all, Joe Biden is more likely to smack himself in the face with a fly swatter than properly swat a fly at this point in his geriatric life. 0.95

00:59:57.000 How ridiculous was the media coverage of this? 0.99

01:00:00.000 The media coverage was ridiculous through and through. 0.89

01:00:02.000 They had only a couple narratives coming out of this.

01:00:04.000 One was Kamala Harris is a victim.

01:00:06.000 And the other, of course, is that there was a fly at the debate.

01:00:09.000 Those were the two narratives.

01:00:11.000 So Steve Schmidt, who is, of course, a former Republican.

01:00:14.000 Now he is a complete never Trump crazy person.

01:00:18.000 He said on MSNBC that the fly landing on Mike Pence was a sign that he was Satan.

01:00:24.000 Here was Steve Schmidt last night.

01:00:27.000 I mean, I don't think it's ever a good sign when a fly lands on your head for two minutes.

01:00:32.000 You know, that's a sign all through history of sin, and historically, biblically, maybe you wouldn't normally say this after, you wouldn't, it's only safe to say this, sorry, after midnight, but, you know, a fly, he who commands the fly has always been seen historically as the mark of the devil.

01:00:51.000 It didn't stop there, obviously.

01:00:53.000 You got Andrea Mitchell.

01:00:55.000 Andrea Mitchell then went to the mansplaining, mansplaining. 1.00

01:01:00.000 Susan Page interrupted her! 0.97

01:01:01.000 I asked a man I know what he thought of the debate.

01:01:03.000 He said the debate was over when she said, Mr. Vice President, you are interrupting me.

01:01:07.000 Then she needs to hang out with like men who exist, not ones that exist in her imagination.

01:01:12.000 You know, like men who are biologically men, because that's crazy. 0.74

01:01:15.000 Okay, the minute she said, you're interrupting me, Susan Page interrupted her. 0.99

01:01:18.000 We showed you the clip.

01:01:20.000 Susan Page interrupted her, and then Pence jumped in.

01:01:23.000 And then she's like, well, she said, stop interrupting me to a man that was standing up for women everywhere.

01:01:28.000 Woo, women power. 1.00

01:01:31.000 This was the talking point in the media.

01:01:32.000 As soon as you are relegated to saying that she was the victim of Pence's wild sexism?

01:01:37.000 Yeah, good luck with that.

01:01:39.000 Van Jones on CNN did the same thing.

01:01:42.000 He suggested that Pence was the quote-unquote mansplainer-in-chief.

01:01:45.000 Just because he is a man and he is explaining things does not mean he is mansplaining things.

01:01:49.000 He was not talking down to Kamala Harris. 1.00

01:01:50.000 It's a political debate, you idiots! 1.00

01:01:53.000 It's a political debate. 1.00

01:01:54.000 Here was Van Jones trying to try out this tired talking point.

01:01:58.000 She was not overly assertive throughout this entire debate.

01:02:01.000 Pence was a mansplainer in chief.

01:02:06.000 Mike Mansplainer all night.

01:02:07.000 I understand that.

01:02:09.000 And then you get George Stephanopoulos, the Keebler elf, suggesting there was tons of mansplaining last night.

01:02:13.000 Just endless, endless mansplaining last night from George Stephanopoulos, objective news anchor.

01:02:20.000 Because obviously, Mike Pence, as a former television commentator, does have a very calm demeanor.

01:02:25.000 But I think a lot of people were noticing some mansplaining going on tonight.

01:02:30.000 OK, Nicole Wallace on MSNBC, she did the same thing, but she didn't just go there. 1.00

01:02:34.000 She got full on sexist against Mike Pence.

01:02:37.000 OK, so you're allowed to.

01:02:38.000 You're not allowed to interrupt Kamala Harris under any circumstances ever, ever, ever.

01:02:41.000 If you do, you're a sexist.

01:02:43.000 Stop it. 1.00

01:02:43.000 You're a bad person. 1.00

01:02:44.000 Cut it out. 0.99

01:02:44.000 OK, but but Nicole Wallace literally called Mike Pence flaccid and limp. 0.99

01:02:51.000 In the debate. 1.00

01:02:52.000 Oh, is she making a pun about his penis? 0.99

01:02:54.000 Yes, of course she is, because you're allowed to say whatever you want about men in our society. 0.99

01:02:58.000 But if you interrupt a woman, if you so much as interrupt a woman during a debate, it's because you hate women, you see. 0.98

01:03:03.000 You hate them. 1.00

01:03:04.000 HATE them. 0.95

01:03:06.000 She said the only people they have in their coalition, after last week's barn burger from Trump, were the grievance voters. 0.59

01:03:10.000 This will not land well with them.

01:03:13.000 And then she suggested that perhaps, she actually went on to suggest, Nicole Wallace, that perhaps Mike Pence was feeling under the weather, right?

01:03:21.000 She started talking about the fact that his eyes looked a little pink.

01:03:22.000 So maybe he has COVID.

01:03:24.000 So that's her narrative now.

01:03:25.000 We're going to speculate about Mike Pence's health.

01:03:26.000 Maybe he has COVID.

01:03:27.000 Who the hell knows?

01:03:27.000 Maybe he does.

01:03:28.000 Mark Ruffalo signed in as well to join in the fun. 1.00

01:03:33.000 The idiot actor. 1.00

01:03:34.000 A man with fewer than 10 brain cells to rub together. 1.00

01:03:37.000 He tweeted out, just going over it all in my head, I have a question. 0.97

01:03:40.000 Pence constantly interrupted and spoke over Kamala Harris was the prime example of white male supremacy and its common dismissal and disrespect for black women. 0.99

01:03:48.000 I have a question.

01:03:50.000 Let's say that the sexes had been reversed. 0.95

01:03:53.000 And let's say that Kamala Harris had been the one who mildly interrupted Mike Pence and Pence had said, you're interrupting me, you're interrupting me, stop interrupting Then they would claim that he was being defensive and aggressive with Kamala Harris.

01:04:06.000 There is in fact a double standard, but the double standard is applied against men and not against women in these circumstances.

01:04:10.000 That is perfectly obvious.

01:04:11.000 It's been obvious from the media coverage since before the debate. 0.97

01:04:15.000 This is ridiculous. 0.96

01:04:17.000 S.C. 0.98

01:04:17.000 Cupp on CNN. 0.98

01:04:18.000 She did the same thing.

01:04:19.000 She said that she blasted Mike Pence.

01:04:21.000 She said his debate was infuriating.

01:04:23.000 He made her skin crawl.

01:04:24.000 Skin crawl, you see.

01:04:27.000 I know Mike Pence, I've met Mike Pence, I've interviewed Mike Pence, and at one time I found him very impressive.

01:04:33.000 Tonight, he made my skin crawl, and I think showed that you can be insulting without using insults.

01:04:43.000 You know, the constant interruptions, the mansplaining, the condescending, to both of the women on that stage tonight, and the not answering questions, the gaslighting, I found infuriating.

01:04:57.000 Okay, this is just, I'm sorry, it's very silly.

01:05:00.000 It is very obvious Pence won.

01:05:01.000 The media's coverage proves that Pence won.

01:05:04.000 Okay, so now here's the question.

01:05:05.000 Can this turn into momentum?

01:05:06.000 Can this turn into momentum?

01:05:07.000 And the answer is maybe, but Trump has to get out of his own way.

01:05:11.000 Once again, this campaign is not about Mike Pence.

01:05:13.000 If Pence were the presidential candidate, I think the Republican ticket would now be ahead in the polls.

01:05:17.000 Donald Trump needs to get out of his own way.

01:05:19.000 He needs to do the same defense of his policies that Pence did.

01:05:23.000 He can do it in Trumpian fashion, he can.

01:05:25.000 But he needs to actively defend his own policies rather than fulminating over whatever he saw on the TVs today.

01:05:31.000 And if that happens, maybe this thing turns around.

01:05:32.000 If it doesn't, then the problems will continue for the Trump campaign.

01:05:36.000 But, again, I think the takeaway last night is that Trump's policies are excellent, how do you know?

01:05:41.000 Because Mike Pence was able to win going away, win in a walk, against Kamala Harris simply by saying the policies out loud and pointing out that Democrats have never had to answer a single difficult question about their own policies and, in fact, refuse to answer their own policies right now.

01:05:56.000 If you listened to Kamala Harris last night, Democrats are the parties of anti-Green New Deal, low taxes, and pro-fracking. 0.61

01:06:03.000 As Elizabeth Brooding, an actual socialist writing for the Washington Post said, it seems like if this is the new Democratic Party, they've left the left completely behind.

01:06:10.000 Of course it isn't.

01:06:11.000 They're lying.

01:06:12.000 But it just demonstrates how much they have to lie in order to convince the American people they are not who they actually are.

01:06:16.000 Alrighty, we'll be back here later today with two additional hours of content.

01:06:19.000 Otherwise, we'll see you here tomorrow.
