00:00:01.000So, woke 1.0 was the idea that America was a white supremacist country that was filled with racism and evil, and therefore, everything was fruit of the poisonous tree.
00:00:12.000Therefore, any inequality of outcome was an inequity.
00:00:17.000It was the American system that had gone wrong.
00:02:44.000Again, what happens in all of these areas is you make it more expensive to build because what you want to do is regulate the developers, right?
00:02:53.000Make it more expensive, more regulatory, more confiscatory.
00:02:56.000Make sure that anyone who's buying, say, luxury real estate in LA, those people need to be crammed down, higher property taxes, go after them, nail them, really get them.
00:03:05.000And then it turns out that you remove the profit incentive to build new things so nothing new gets built.
00:03:08.000And then you have a shortage of housing.
00:03:10.000So then you tax everybody more to build quote unquote affordable housing.
00:03:14.000But it turns out that the affordable housing is really expensive because when you build it, you have a bunch of union based government contractors who are screwing the state.
00:03:43.000There are gigantic, I'm talking like gigantic swaths of land in LA that are going without sale because no one wants to buy them and then be forced to rent them at below market value.
00:03:53.000Nobody wants to buy up, for example, a giant studio space and then locate a Hollywood production there because you can't afford to do it there.
00:04:03.000Again, when people think socialism, they tend to think of the government seizes your business and turns it into like a communist grocery store or something.
00:04:11.000That is not the sole extent of socialism.
00:04:14.000In order to understand what we're talking about here, you have to understand that there's sort of a spectrum from socialism all the way over to free markets.
00:04:21.000Well, because when you own a property, it's not just Your ownership of the property that makes it private property.
00:04:27.000It is your ability to do things with that property.
00:04:30.000So let's say, for example, you buy a piece of land, and let's say that the government tells you you're not allowed to build a house, you're not allowed to build a co op, you're not allowed to build an apartment, you're not allowed to build a store.
00:04:48.000So technically, technically, you don't, you own, but if you don't have any power to do anything with the land, Then you don't have any of the benefits of ownership.
00:04:55.000So that is not really private property.
00:04:57.000This is a point made by Professor Richard Epstein, the author of a book called Takings, that actually property rights include the right to alienate, the right to build, the right to use.
00:05:07.000If you take away the use of all of those rights, it's the same thing as if the government has taken the property.
00:05:12.000This is what socialists tend to do in places like LA.
00:05:15.000Sure, you can buy that house, but you know what you can't do?0.99
00:05:17.000You definitely cannot build a mother in law unit out back.0.59
00:05:19.000You definitely can't rent it out to make some extra money.
00:05:23.000You certainly are not allowed to rent it out at a particular rate.
00:05:27.000And if you sell it, we're going to take all the profit.
00:05:29.000Okay, well, you just violated property rights 10 ways from Sunday.
00:05:33.000And then you wonder why no one's building.
00:05:40.000That's what's happening in all of these markets.
00:05:42.000It's why there are 50,000 vacant units in New York City.
00:05:44.000So you have a socialist mayor of New York, you have a socialist mayor of LA, and now you have a socialist mayor of Washington, D.C., where Janice Lewis George won 84% of the vote.
00:05:54.000Socialists really love Washington, D.C. Here is a chart of D.C. housing prices.
00:06:01.000Well, you may notice that it was up and up and up and up.
00:06:07.000And the reason it leveled off in 2022 is because a lot of people moved to Northern Virginia, right?
00:06:13.000After the pandemic, people started to be like, I don't know, man, I'm kind of out.
00:06:18.000Here is Janice Lewis George on what socialism means.
00:06:22.000You know, because I think this moment calls for that level of moral clarity and courage, it calls for this level of ingenuity, and it calls for a leader who is focused on putting people first and delivering on the small things, right?
00:06:35.000Uh, sewer socialism is talking about just making sure your 911 system works, your 311 works, um, your trash gets picked up, your snow gets plowed, those basic things that make a difference in everyone's lives and delivering for residents in all eight wards in the city.
00:06:49.000But it also focuses on delivering those big things, right?
00:06:52.000Like universal access to child care, uh, lowering utility costs for DC residents and fighting against these data centers that are pulling on our grid and expanding community solar.
00:07:02.000So for me, it's really a moment where ingenuity is necessary and more courage is necessary.
00:07:28.000This is a, this is a chart of property prices in New York City.
00:07:31.000Notice up and again, 50,000 vacant units in New York City that nobody will rent because it is more expensive to rent them than it is to just leave them empty.
00:07:44.000Zoramamdani worrying the AI bubble is going to pop like the housing bubble.
00:07:47.000Yeah, because you're going to destroy the markets on both.
00:07:53.000There's an investment in the idea that this is so complicated that the only rational response should be that we trust those who created it.
00:08:01.000And in many ways, it's what Facebook was arguing in 2008 that they should be able to regulate themselves.
00:08:06.000And yet, what we need to see is a response that grasps the scale of the adoption of this technology and the incentives that are driving a lot of this technology at this time and the fact that.
00:08:20.000We are now at a point where there are far too many similarities between the housing bubble and the state of AI in our economy today.
00:09:56.0002007, 2008, you had massive government subsidization programs that were designed to put people who could not afford homes into homes.
00:10:03.000And then markets do what they do, which is they took all of that and they made it cheaper and easier.
00:10:10.000And the way that they did that is things like credit default swaps, right?
00:10:12.000The market went to work on a bad program because, again, markets are capable of making anything more efficient, better, and cheaper, even things you don't like.
00:11:31.000You know, they're just against the cruelty of the Trump administration, those people who are laughing at Charlie's murder again for the one millionth time.
00:12:15.000And I always tell people the day the Latino, African American, Asian, and other communities realize that they share the same oppressor is the day we start winning.
00:12:28.000Because we are the majority in this country now.
00:12:31.000We have the ability to take over this country and to do what is needed for everyone and to make things fair.
00:12:37.000See, the Coalition of the Oppressed, they're going to make things fair.
00:12:41.000They're going to take it all over and make things fair.
00:12:43.000Now, that comes along with a little bit of weirdness, of course.0.67
00:12:46.000I mean, like, for example, According to the New York Post, West Hollywood, which is the gayest area of probably the world, it's like West Hollywood or Fire Island, West Hollywood will now allow thrupples, foursomes, and other multi partner relationships to register as domestic partners and receive new legal protections for polyamory.0.71
00:13:04.000The measure allows people in relationships involving multiple partners to officially register with the city, granting them certain rights, including hospital visitation and additional tenant protections.
00:13:19.000Can't imagine these five gay dudes.1.00
00:13:22.000Basically, being like, hey, we're all married now.0.98
00:13:25.000And if you upcharge us on the rent, then that's because you're some sort of bigot in West Hollywood.
00:13:33.000Yes, it turns out that all of the oppressive structures will be struck down, including apparently penalties for murder.
00:13:40.000So, Gavin Newsom, governor of California, who's attempting to steal some of the glory of the far left, he announced on Thursday he's commuting every death sentence in his state to a sentence of life in prison without parole.
00:13:53.000Say, quote, my decision today comes after nearly three decades of openly opposing state sanctioned executions as an elected official.
00:14:00.000So many nice people who are going to escape the death penalty in California.
00:14:02.000That would include, say, Todd Givens and Billy Joe Johnson, both members of white supremacist gangs who have been sentenced to death.
00:14:10.000Or, say, Skylar DeLeon, sentenced to death in 2009 for murdering three people by tying them to an anchor on a yacht and throwing them alive into the Pacific Ocean.0.56
00:14:19.000The good news is that at least we won't be deprived of having to pay for his transgender care because it turns out that DeLeon transitioned to female from male.
00:14:26.000While serving his sentence, others who will escape the death penalty in California include Glenn Helzer, who led a cult called the Children of Thunder and murdered five people in an extortion scheme.0.51
00:14:39.000Eric Houston murdered four and held 100 students hostage for eight hours in the 1992 Lindhurst High School shooting in California.
00:14:47.000Or, say, Carrie Stainer, who killed four women in Yosemite National Park, including one woman by cutting off her head in 1999.
00:14:53.000Or Marcus Wesson, who sexually abused and impregnated his nieces and then held his nieces hostage in a police standoff that ended with nine of his own children dead.
00:15:01.000Seven of whom were eight years old or younger will at least still get to live on the taxpayer.
00:15:57.000And I've tried to do that consistently across my campaign, but people keep saying, well, because of your positions on Israel, you must also feel a certain way about Jewish people.
00:16:04.000I say, well, no, actually, we have to differentiate between our foreign policy.
00:16:09.000And by the way, I apply the same approach to the government of Egypt, where my family came from.
00:16:13.000And I would hate that somebody would assume.
00:16:15.000That I would be okay with the human rights abuses of the government of Egypt simply because I share the ethnicity of the majority of people who are in Egypt.
00:16:23.000So we just have to be governing on principle, and we have broken our own principles when it comes to Israel time and again.0.60
00:16:30.000Oh, but I've noticed that he's never called for the abolition of the state of Egypt.
00:16:33.000I've noticed that he's never done that.
00:16:37.000Sarah Haynes on The View pushed Abdurrahman El Sayed on the fact that he said about an actual honest God terrorist who tried to murder Jewish school children, quote, hurt people, hurt people.
00:16:57.000But it took you a while to back it, it took you about five months to it seemingly understand why that landed wrong with people and voters and constituents.
00:17:07.000You know, do you think that leaders have a responsibility to challenge the extremist views in their own religion, especially considering you're the first Muslim senator of the United States?
00:17:19.000I do want to offer, though, when we step back, it is important for us to be thinking about how do we start addressing all of the downward spiral of our politics right now.
00:17:28.000And I think too often there is this approach where we say good and evil.
00:17:32.000And that good and evil approach hasn't really helped us root out a lot of the pain that causes a lot of the damage that we see in our society.
00:17:40.000And so I was trying to argue about or offer context around the fact that that individual had lost a child, niece, and nephew in an airstrike.
00:18:25.000I'm glad that you punished the Trump administration so that we get Abdul Rahman El Sayed sitting in the United States Senate, maybe on the Foreign Relations Committee.
00:18:33.000By the way, the Council on American Islamic Relations, which started as an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood, has now released preliminary tracking results from the November 3rd elections, showing at least 97 confirmed American Muslim electoral victories at the federal, state, and local levels across 21 states, including 38 legislative state wins.
00:18:50.000Another 15 Muslims are leading in races that have not yet been called.
00:19:33.000Again, France spends more money per capita than pretty much any country. On Earth, but they're protesting austerity because, again, it must be capitalism that has failed here.
00:19:46.000The People's Forum joined French protests for international solidarity among working people.
00:19:51.000Again, they're protesting against austerity.
00:19:54.000The People's Forum is funded entirely, almost, by the man who lives in communist China, Neville Roy Singham.
00:20:04.000We're here in the streets today on November 5th in Paris with people as far as the eye can see for the general strike.
00:20:11.000That is standing against the Macron government and the policy of austerity here in France.
00:20:16.000We're here in international solidarity with the strike, but from here to Italy, to all across Europe, to Palestine, to Cuba, everywhere that we stand, we are in solidarity together as working people.
00:20:28.000What we see here in France is just an example of what can happen when people come together and they fight and they struggle together.
00:20:37.000They're not protesting against the Cuban government.
00:20:38.000And they're not protesting against Hamas, by the way.
00:22:26.000Well, you know, if you think so, head on over to dailywire.comslash subscribe to watch the full show ad free or check out this crazy story here.
