00:00:23.000He obviously ran saying he wasn't going to do a Middle East war.0.83
00:00:26.000So we have some of our voters who've checked out because they're like, I didn't want any more Middle East wars, and now we're doing it.1.00
00:00:55.000Okay, Ron DeSantis is on with Warren Ingram last night, and he said, listen, if we can't win in Kansas or Iowa, we're not viable, obviously, but duh, that's true.
00:01:03.000So it's a big difference between Texas, which that was a potential extinction event there because they got swept out of everything from governor to the Supreme Court and even the House of Representatives.
00:01:16.000That is going to do damage, not just in Texas.
00:01:18.000It's going to hurt the Republican Party going forward.
00:01:22.000And if we can't win in places like Texas or Kansas or Iowa, you know, we are not viable nationally.
00:01:30.000Now, there are some memes that are going around online that are talking about sort of what happens to Republicans from here on in.
00:01:35.000And sort of these panic memes that are going around that we will never win back the Senate until 2036.
00:01:42.000So, first of all, we should never make the mistake of regarding the electoral map as static.
00:01:49.000In fact, it's an act of foolishness to believe the electoral map is static.
00:01:52.000If Democrats regarded the electoral map as static, they certainly wouldn't have won Texas or Kansas or maybe a seat in Mississippi.
00:01:58.000The electoral map shifts, it moves, things change.
00:02:02.000But if you look forward to four or six years from now, There are plenty of seats that are available for Republicans to win back the Senate if they course correct.
00:02:20.000So in 2028, the following seats for Democrats are vulnerable Mark Kelly in Arizona, Raphael Warnock in Georgia, Catherine Cortez Masto in Nevada, Maggie Hassan in New Hampshire, Sherrod Brown again for the third time in three election cycles in Ohio, and John Fetterman again, he's Much more Republican in some ways than Democrat at this point, but he's still a Democrat.
00:02:41.000All of those people are on the ballot.
00:02:43.000All of them in a normal sort of electoral environment are vulnerable.
00:02:47.000I understand that we magically transformed Arizona and Georgia into states with two Democratic senators and now Democratic governors.
00:02:53.000But those are states that went for President Trump.
00:02:56.000Mark Kelly, Raphael Warnock should be vulnerable.
00:03:00.000Catherine Cortez Masto in Nevada should be vulnerable.
00:03:03.000Maggie Hassan in New Hampshire in her last election cycle won below 50% of the vote.
00:03:09.000And Federman in Pennsylvania, the other senator over there is Dave McCormick.
00:03:12.000All of them are on the ballot in 2028.
00:03:15.000So that right there, just that election is six people who are up.
00:03:18.000So if we finish 55 45 in this electoral cycle, I mean, you could theoretically win back the Senate in 2028.
00:03:27.000If you move forward to 2030, you got Ruben Gallego in Arizona, Angus King in Maine, where I can see Susan Collins run against him, Melissa Slotkin in Michigan, Jackie Rosen in Nevada, and Tammy Baldwin in Wisconsin.
00:03:40.000That is 12 Senate seats in states where Republicans either already have Senators or governors, or have had senators in the last couple of years.
00:03:49.000So, again, these sort of panic stricken, we're never going to win again, it's all over.
00:03:53.000If you've been around in American politics long enough, you know that's not true.
00:03:57.000We are not at the end of the road in the Senate, not by a long shot, but that does require course correction.
00:04:03.000Okay, as to what comes next for President Trump, President Trump spoke with CNBC's Eamon Javers on working with Democrats.
00:04:11.000Apparently, Javers wrote, I had a brief phone call with President Trump.
00:04:15.000I asked him if he can work with newly empowered Democrats on Capitol Hill.
00:04:18.000He said, in part, I can work with them on many things, many more things than people understand.
00:04:22.000When I ran against Bernie Sanders, basically when he dropped out, almost all of his people joined me instead of Hillary.
00:04:28.000Again, this to me has always been one of the drawbacks of the Trump administration is his ideological predilection for government interventionism in free markets.
00:04:39.000And Democrats are moving in that direction.0.60
00:04:41.000And one of the things that they did successfully in this election cycle is sort of defaying the trans radicalism by saying, well, you know, we'll just get the trans out of the sports and okay, fine, or saying that's not really an issue.0.66
00:04:55.000The new Texas Democratic governor, which is just insane, insane, Gina Hinojosa, who is literally the most left wing member of the state legislature in Texas, says she is not a liberal, she's an economic populist.
00:05:09.000If I were to pick a label to describe what my politics are, it is economic populism.
00:05:15.000It happens to be a type of politics that is rooted in our Texas history.
00:05:21.000It was LBJ's grandfather, who was part of the Farmers Alliance, that organized farmers against big railroads that were taking advantage of them in much the same way.
00:05:32.000We have working Texans who are up against, again, tech giants, big tech.
00:05:38.000And so I chose this title to define what is my politics because I do think that this has to be the politics of the moment to meet the challenges of the moment.
00:05:51.000Now, again, the anti free markets program for Republicans going forward, trying to outbid Democrats along these lines, is not going to work.
00:05:57.000Democrats are going to occupy that space.
00:05:59.000And obviously, when it comes to foreign policy, the president is still the president.
00:06:02.000So, again, it is still my hope that the president ends the war in Iran quickly and successfully.
00:06:11.000It's not unique to have a divided power in our system, and we've always had a foreign policy.
00:06:15.000And to my great frustration, when I was a member of the Senate, I realized that while there are things we could do, ultimately the foreign policy decisions are made by the executive branch, and Congress plays a role.
00:06:54.000Candidates can also tell you in their own words why they're excited about your job.

00:08:41.000For all the Republicans right now who are experiencing sleepless nights, and you don't have your Bowling Branch product or your Helix sleep mattress or something, for all of you, including me, who are having some serious heartburn right now.
00:08:53.000There's one thing that we always have to remember Democrats are really bad at this.
00:08:58.000And they're going to come into Washington, D.C., riding high, feeling their oaths, believing they can do whatever they want to do, and then they're going to jump on every rig.
00:09:04.000James Tallarica is already getting ready for this.
00:09:06.000And he's been doing the sort of Pastor Pete Buttigieg routine for a while here, and he's just going to continue to alienate folks.
00:09:15.000I really do feel like this is a way that I can love my neighbor at scale through good public policy, reducing the cost of prescription drugs, reducing the cost of child care, the cost of housing, all the things I've worked on in the legislature.
00:09:44.000I do not wish to treat politics like a sacrament, actually.
00:09:49.000I'm not in favor of you deciding that love thy neighbor means that you get to actually steal thy neighbor's money and use it for your own particular purposes.
00:09:57.000That does not seem like a wonderful thing.
00:10:42.000Ken Martin, who is the head of the DNC, he's out there saying that the Republicans lost the plot in this election, which of course is true.
00:10:50.000The Democrats are going to fumble this bag so hard.
00:10:53.000When people can barely afford to put gas in their tanks or are paying more for electricity or finding a challenge to actually put groceries on the table.
00:11:03.000They don't have time to care about whether or not someone's woke or not, right?
00:11:07.000The reality is, I think this was a major, major mistake of the Republicans in terms of their messaging this year.
00:13:10.000Against all odds, Democrats have won the Senate and we have five words for the American people relief is on the way.
00:13:22.000Well, relief came this morning in the form of a gigantic dump in the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which plummeted 2.5% basically upon initial open.
00:13:30.000Some of that has to do with the fact that Democrats taking power means they're going to try to kill the golden goose that is AI development.
00:13:37.000Congresswoman Yasmin Ansari put out a statement Top of the Democratic agenda on day one needs to be a pause on advanced AI development, regulation of the static control industry, and a ban on artificial super intelligence.
00:13:49.000I mean, economic policy, again, with Democrats in control, it ain't going to get better, folks.
