00:00:00.000 A juror in the Derek Chauvin trial turns out to have been a Black Lives Matter protester.
00:00:04.000 President Biden oversees the rise of racial polarization and crime.
00:00:07.000 And Ron DeSantis destroys Biden's anti-scientific vaccine approach.
00:00:11.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:00:11.000 This is the Ben Shapiro Show.
00:00:20.000 Your data is your business protected at expressvpn.com.
00:00:24.000 We'll get to all the news in just one moment.
00:00:27.000 First, quick reminder, there are just two certain things in life, death and taxes.
00:00:30.000 Benjamin Franklin said that.
00:00:31.000 But now we also have to add that there's a The third certain thing, and that is if you are using Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile, you are paying way too much for your cell phone coverage, and switching to PeerTalk will save you money.
00:00:41.000 In fact, PeerTalk saves the average family of four over $800 a year.
00:00:45.000 Here's the best part.
00:00:46.000 You don't have to sacrifice coverage because it's on the exact same network as one of those providers.
00:00:50.000 Switching is super simple.
00:00:51.000 You can keep your phone, keep your number, or get huge discounts on the latest iPhones and Androids.
00:00:55.000 Right now, you can get unlimited talk text and 6GB of data for just $30 a month.
00:01:00.000 That's a great deal.
00:01:01.000 Unlimited talk text, 6GB of data.
00:01:02.000 And you're saying to yourself, what if I go over?
00:01:04.000 What if I use more than 6GB of data?
00:01:05.000 Glad you asked!
00:01:06.000 If you go over on data, they're not going to charge you for it.
00:01:09.000 That's just one of the many reasons they have been named the top wireless provider by Consumer Affairs.
00:01:13.000 A lot of other phone companies are going to try and confuse you with what you get.
00:01:16.000 Not so with Pure Talk USA.
00:01:18.000 Get started today from your cell phone.
00:01:19.000 Dial pound 250.
00:01:21.000 Say Ben Shapiro.
00:01:22.000 You'll save 50% off your very first month.
00:01:24.000 That's pound 250.
00:01:25.000 Say my name, Ben Shapiro, and you save 50% on your very first month from Pure Talk USA.
00:01:31.000 Save yourself a bunch of money by switching your cell phone coverage.
00:01:34.000 Alrighty, so.
00:01:36.000 The Biden administration came into power promising moderation, a return to normalcy, and instead they are overseeing what looks very much like the country coming apart at the seams.
00:01:45.000 And the people who are paying the price for that are largely living in blue areas that are being cleaned out.
00:01:51.000 And there's a reason that the census data shows that people are moving from blue areas to red areas, and it's because blue areas increasingly suck.
00:01:56.000 I mean, it just is the reality of life.
00:01:58.000 Crime has gone up tremendously in places like L.A., where I used to live, or New York, where a lot of my friends used to live, or places like Chicago, where I have friends who are now moving.
00:02:06.000 You know, the fact of the matter is that as democratic policies start to have their effect, things go bad.
00:02:12.000 Which is why Daily Wire is now reporting that Chicago may be headed for a violent summer.
00:02:16.000 Over the weekend, dozens of people were shot, seven were killed in gun violence that spanned the city, a continuation of a trend that has dogged Chicago, the nation's third-largest city, since last summer.
00:02:25.000 Fox News reports more than 45 people were shot, including a 14-year-old boy.
00:02:29.000 Seven were killed in Chicago citywide over the weekend, according to the Chicago PD.
00:02:32.000 There were 36 shootings reported from 6 p.m.
00:02:35.000 Friday to 11.59 p.m.
00:02:36.000 Sunday.
00:02:37.000 At least two others were stabbed, including one victim who succumbed to his injuries.
00:02:40.000 Information released by the authorities indicates the slain victims ranged from 17 to 37.
00:02:45.000 The youngest victim died while he was shot while driving on Sunday.
00:02:49.000 He crashed his car after sustaining a bullet wound.
00:02:51.000 The youngest victim who survived was just 14 years old.
00:02:55.000 So all of this, of course, is terrible news, but it is mirrored by the fact that there is terrible news in pretty much every major American city when it comes to homicide, according to the Washington Post today.
00:03:05.000 District officials in Washington launched their annual summer crime prevention initiative.
00:03:09.000 It's fun that it's annual, right?
00:03:10.000 I mean, it's just like July 4th or like...
00:03:13.000 Summer camp.
00:03:14.000 It's a summer initiative to stop people from murdering each other in Washington, D.C.
00:03:17.000 It's annual.
00:03:18.000 It's an annual summer crime prevention initiative, which sounds like the state fair, against a backdrop of a soaring homicide rate and on the heels of a particularly bloody weekend in the city.
00:03:25.000 Now, I don't know why this would happen.
00:03:27.000 I mean, they painted Black Lives Matter in giant yellow letters on the street, for God's sake.
00:03:32.000 They renamed a square Black Lives Matter Square in Washington, D.C.
00:03:36.000 I thought for the life of me, this would mean more black people would live.
00:03:39.000 But as it turns out, When you rip on the cops, and when you suggest the cops are the problem, it turns out that more black people die, because more people die generally.
00:03:47.000 And if disproportionately black people die in homicides, then more black people will die in homicides.
00:03:52.000 Mayor Muriel Bowser, Democrat, announced the program at a news conference Monday at Rosedale Recreation Center, a 10-minute drive from where a stray bullet struck a 7-year-old through her pink t-shirt two days earlier.
00:04:02.000 Now, you haven't heard of that 7-year-old, have you?
00:04:03.000 You don't know her name.
00:04:04.000 We still don't know the name of the 14-year-old kid in Chicago.
00:04:06.000 Because they don't matter to the left.
00:04:08.000 They don't matter.
00:04:08.000 That's not the narrative.
00:04:10.000 This is the thing.
00:04:10.000 The Biden administration, the left, that is predominant in America's major cities, they have a narrative.
00:04:15.000 The narrative is the great threat to black Americans is the cops.
00:04:18.000 And that is a lie.
00:04:19.000 And it means more black people will die.
00:04:22.000 Over the past weekend alone, at least 11 people were shot and another person was stabbed.
00:04:26.000 Three of those victims died, bringing the number of homicides in the district to 66 this year, a 38% increase from the same time in 2020.
00:04:33.000 And it should be known that every year in the United States, about 20 black people are shot unarmed by the cops.
00:04:38.000 In the District of Columbia alone, 66 people have been murdered this year.
00:04:44.000 Acting DC Police Chief Robert J. Conte said, I love it.
00:04:49.000 I mean, again, that it's an annual thing is kind of hysterical.
00:04:52.000 It is certainly not lost on me, the violent crime that we experienced in our city this past weekend.
00:04:57.000 These things are the reason why we do the Summer Crime Initiative.
00:04:59.000 It's the reason why we are so committed to this, and we have been for so many years now.
00:05:02.000 Well, maybe if you keep doing the same thing and it's failing, maybe you should probably change how you do that thing.
00:05:08.000 A 20-year-old man from Northeast Washington, Delano Harris, was fatally shot Sunday evening in the Edgewood neighborhood.
00:05:12.000 Half an hour later, police said Luis Chieves, a 46-year-old from Southeast Washington, was fatally stabbed near Boone Elementary School in Southeast.
00:05:19.000 Paul Tyrone Dorn, whose age was not immediately available, died of a gunshot wound to his chest on Sunday night.
00:05:23.000 A police report says he was shot in self-defense.
00:05:25.000 Seven-year-old Regan Grimes, a second grader visiting from Maryland, is expected to recover after a bullet went through her chest outside of the Paradise at Parkside apartment complex on Saturday.
00:05:34.000 Her family said they were visiting relatives and she had gone outside to play.
00:05:38.000 Well, my favorite thing here is that, according to DC, the big issue here is that it's hot outside.
00:05:43.000 You know, as it gets hotter... This is one of the great, kind of, statistical lies that they'll tell you.
00:05:48.000 Well, you know, when it's hotter, people murder each other more.
00:05:49.000 Nope.
00:05:50.000 It's just that kids are out of school for the summer, and young people disproportionately commit crimes.
00:05:53.000 So that is usually why you have a spike in the summer in terms of the murder rate, but...
00:05:58.000 The reason that you have a spike this year over other years is, of course, because when you rip the cops, when you make it impossible for them to do their jobs, then you're going to get a rise in crime.
00:06:06.000 And what we have seen is that there are cultural impacts to saying that cops across the land are systemically racist.
00:06:12.000 There are cultural impacts to saying to citizens across the United States that the police are the enemy.
00:06:18.000 In fact, it makes a difference.
00:06:19.000 When you say this sort of stuff, it makes a difference in citizen behavior.
00:06:22.000 It makes a difference in police behavior because people are not automatons.
00:06:26.000 When you say that the cops are all racist, and you're gonna drag them into court, even if the body cam footage shows that they did the right thing, or you're gonna drag them through the media the way LeBron James did to that cop in Minnesota, then this is what you end up with.
00:06:43.000 You end up with these... Sorry, that cop in Ohio.
00:06:46.000 This is what you end up with.
00:06:48.000 You end up with cops backing off, and you end up with citizens who act like jackasses to the cops.
00:06:55.000 Okay, so Cori Bush is a perfect example of that.
00:06:57.000 She's a Black Lives Matter activist who ended up in Congress.
00:06:59.000 She's an adjunct member of the squad.
00:07:01.000 She's a representative from Missouri, and she tweeted out, Yes, America is racist AF.
00:07:04.000 to spark a national movement to save black lives if America weren't racist AF. Yes, America is racist AF. The police are terrible. The police are awful.
00:07:04.000 The police are terrible.
00:07:14.000 And you get Al Sharpton saying the same thing to Tim Scott. America was built on racism.
00:07:19.000 Now, it's amazing to me.
00:07:20.000 If America was built on racism, why in the world is Al Sharpton still on TV?
00:07:24.000 This man is the greatest race grifter of the last 50 years.
00:07:27.000 involved in the incitement of not one but two riots, a complete liar.
00:07:31.000 I mean, a man who completely made up from whole cloth the story of Tawana Browley, and then slandered a DA in order to get himself off the hook.
00:07:39.000 Al Sharpton is a bag of human garbage.
00:07:41.000 He's a terrible human being.
00:07:43.000 And here's Al Sharpton lecturing about how America is racist AF while standing there in presumably a thousand dollar suit.
00:07:48.000 Here he is.
00:07:48.000 Everybody in America is not racist.
00:07:51.000 But are you talking about whether the practice of America's races are the people.
00:08:00.000 Because the practice of America was built on racism.
00:08:03.000 It was against the law for us to read and write.
00:08:09.000 It was against the law for us to marry.
00:08:13.000 It was against the law for us to name our children after us.
00:08:18.000 We were brought here to serve and never get paid.
00:08:22.000 That's how the country was built.
00:08:24.000 Okay, my favorite part of this is that none of those things are true today and none of those things have been true for decades.
00:08:29.000 Right, and if you want to talk about marriages and breaking up marriages, and he says we were never allowed to marry.
00:08:34.000 The marriage rate among black Americans in 1900 was actually higher than the marriage rate among white Americans in 1900.
00:08:38.000 The marriage rate today among African Americans stands at approximately, or children born out of wedlock, the marriage, children born out of wedlock rate today is in excess of 70%.
00:08:50.000 Okay, when welfare came around, it was about 20%.
00:08:54.000 Is that an aftereffect of racism and slavery?
00:08:55.000 You're gonna have to explain why, if that is the case.
00:08:57.000 Okay, but again, all of this has predictable effects, and the predictable effects of this are that people treat cops badly, and that people suggest that America's a terrible place, and you are somehow virtuous if you attack America.
00:09:09.000 And then the result is that people just don't do their jobs.
00:09:12.000 The cops are not proactive.
00:09:14.000 It leads to actual behavior.
00:09:16.000 It leads to people abusing cops, for example.
00:09:19.000 There's a video that was going viral, I'm going to show you in just a moment, of a California woman and how she interacted with the cops.
00:09:24.000 This is why when people say, well, you know, the cops are all bad.
00:09:27.000 Like, you never see these videos of the cops having to deal with obnoxious people, which pretty much every day.
00:09:33.000 There are literally tens and tens and tens of millions of police encounters with human beings in the United States every year.
00:09:39.000 You don't see nearly any of them.
00:09:41.000 The only ones you see are the ones the media decided to make an issue of.
00:09:44.000 But how people act toward the cops does make a difference.
00:09:47.000 And when you raise the temperature, and when you say the cops are bad, and people start acting terribly with the cops, the results sometimes go bad.
00:09:54.000 We'll talk about that in just one moment.
00:09:56.000 First, let us talk about the fact that you don't want to go to an auto parts store.
00:09:59.000 Why would you want to go to an auto parts store?
00:10:00.000 You just stand in line for a long time.
00:10:02.000 Finally, you get to the front.
00:10:03.000 They ask you a bunch of questions you don't know the answers to.
00:10:04.000 Finally, you get the answers.
00:10:06.000 And then they're like, oh yeah, we don't have that part.
00:10:07.000 We're ordering it online.
00:10:08.000 And you say to yourself, well, why didn't I just stay home and order it online?
00:10:11.000 Yes, why didn't you?
00:10:12.000 Go over to RockAuto.com.
00:10:14.000 RockAuto.com will always offer the lowest price possible, rather than changing prices based on what the market will bear, like airlines do.
00:10:20.000 Why would you spend up to twice as much for the same parts?
00:10:22.000 Like, say, you know, off the top of my head, you need, like, a Delphi FG-1456 fuel pump assembly for a 2005 to 2010 Honda Odyssey.
00:10:27.000 You know, just off the top of my head.
00:10:29.000 And it costs, like, $354 at a big chain store.
00:10:32.000 That's the kind of thing you get at RockAuto for $217.
00:10:35.000 So you're looking at big savings right now.
00:10:37.000 RockAuto.com.
00:10:38.000 It's a family business serving auto parts customers online for 20 years.
00:10:41.000 Go to RockAuto.com.
00:10:42.000 Shop for auto and body parts from hundreds of manufacturers.
00:10:45.000 Best of all?
00:10:46.000 Prices at rockauto.com are always reliably low and the same for professionals and do-it-yourselfers.
00:10:50.000 Why would you spend up to twice as much for the same parts?
00:10:52.000 Amazing selection.
00:10:53.000 Reliably low prices.
00:10:54.000 All the parts your car will ever need.
00:10:55.000 Rockauto.com.
00:10:57.000 Head on over to rockauto.com right now.
00:10:58.000 See all the parts available for your car or truck.
00:11:00.000 Write Shapiro in there.
00:11:01.000 How did you hear about us, Fox?
00:11:02.000 So they know that we sent you.
00:11:04.000 Okay, so this leads to certain predictable effects.
00:11:07.000 When you castigate the cops as racist.
00:11:09.000 When you suggest that the cops are a big danger to Americans.
00:11:12.000 There's a video that I think is kind of important because We very rarely talk about the behavior of people when they interact with police officers.
00:11:19.000 We hear very often that if you're black in America, you have to teach your kids, keep your hands at 10 and 2 on the wheel, treat the officer with respect.
00:11:25.000 First of all, you should teach your kids to do that regardless of your color.
00:11:28.000 Because the cop is armed and you presumably are not.
00:11:31.000 The cop is an officer of law and you presumably are not.
00:11:33.000 And you should be treating police officers with respect.
00:11:35.000 That is a simple thing to do.
00:11:38.000 But, put that aside for a second.
00:11:40.000 When you incentivize people to treat cops badly, that is not a good idea.
00:11:44.000 And it does lead to worse behaviors.
00:11:46.000 So, for example, here's a California woman who was pulled over for... She had her cell phone up, which is a violation in California.
00:11:53.000 You're not allowed to have your cell phone to your ear in California.
00:11:55.000 I know because I used to live there.
00:11:56.000 She was pulled over.
00:11:57.000 And this exchange just says pretty much everything about how it is seen fit to treat police officers in America right now.
00:12:06.000 Why are you harassing me?
00:12:07.000 You're correct.
00:12:08.000 I pulled you over because... Because you're a murderer.
00:12:10.000 Yes, I started to record because you're a murderer.
00:12:12.000 You can't be on your cell phone while you're driving.
00:12:14.000 I wasn't on my phone.
00:12:15.000 I was recording you.
00:12:16.000 Can you call your supervisor, please?
00:12:18.000 I already did.
00:12:19.000 He's on his way.
00:12:19.000 Good.
00:12:20.000 Because you're a murderer.
00:12:21.000 Okay.
00:12:21.000 Do you have a picture?
00:12:22.000 And you scared me and made me think you were going to murder me.
00:12:24.000 Okay.
00:12:25.000 Well, I'm sorry you feel that way.
00:12:26.000 Well, that's not just a feeling.
00:12:28.000 You're a murderer.
00:12:29.000 Okay.
00:12:29.000 Thank you.
00:12:30.000 And I'm perfectly legal and I'm a teacher.
00:12:33.000 So there.
00:12:34.000 Congratulations.
00:12:36.000 You're a murderer.
00:12:36.000 Okay, now, quick thing here.
00:12:39.000 One, typically a thing that you cannot say to murderers and get away with being alive is you are a murderer.
00:12:45.000 Things that people never said to Charles Manson.
00:12:47.000 I'm sorry.
00:12:49.000 That's such an absurd statement.
00:12:50.000 I'm a teacher.
00:12:51.000 I can't stop flying.
00:12:52.000 Okay, but that sort of behavior is now being incentivized.
00:12:55.000 Like this lady thought for sure she was gonna go viral.
00:12:58.000 That's why she's taping it.
00:12:59.000 She thinks she's gonna put that up on TikTok and she's gonna go viral.
00:13:02.000 Look at how I spoke back to this murdering pig officer.
00:13:05.000 That sort of attitude is not going to either get you anywhere in life or going to incentivize the kind of behaviors that lead to a lowering of crime.
00:13:11.000 You think police officers want to be treated this way?
00:13:14.000 You think police officers want to get into situations?
00:13:16.000 And this is a pretty mild situation.
00:13:17.000 The lady's not actually physically resisting arrest, for example.
00:13:22.000 But to believe that that doesn't happen is to ignore the evidence on the ground.
00:13:26.000 And this has now infused so much of our conversation, right?
00:13:30.000 The anti-police, anti-American rhetoric has infused so much of our conversation that we're supposed to ignore relevant stories in favor of irrelevant stories.
00:13:39.000 We're supposed to pay attention to this lady's feeling about this cop.
00:13:44.000 We're supposed to pay attention to police officers doing the right thing and shooting people who are threatening other people.
00:13:50.000 But we're not supposed to pay attention to actual Active, active, apparent malice.
00:13:56.000 So this brings us to what in any normal situation would lead the news.
00:14:01.000 The story would lead the news.
00:14:03.000 Here is the story.
00:14:04.000 And it has not appeared so far as I'm aware on any network news show.
00:14:07.000 I believe it has not been covered at CNN.
00:14:10.000 It's an unbelievable story.
00:14:11.000 So, the most glorified criminal justice trial since Rodney King was the Derek Chauvin trial.
00:14:17.000 It was the number one trial covered in America.
00:14:20.000 The Derek Chauvin situation spawned riots and protests.
00:14:24.000 The protests involved somewhere between 15 and 26 million Americans, according to studies.
00:14:29.000 And then, A couple weeks ago, Derek Chauvin was convicted on all counts.
00:14:33.000 And I said at the time, I think you could get to manslaughter, maybe.
00:14:36.000 I find it very difficult to believe that a jury could get to second and third degree murder after 10 hours of consideration with no questions asked of the judge.
00:14:46.000 It is very hard for me to believe that you get there without any preconceived notions after three weeks of testimony, you come in with a conviction on all counts, second, third degree murder and manslaughter on the basis of the evidence that was provided.
00:14:57.000 Without asking any questions, right?
00:14:59.000 In 10 hours.
00:15:00.000 I found that very difficult to believe.
00:15:03.000 And people were very upset with that.
00:15:04.000 How could you say that?
00:15:05.000 This is how the criminal justice system works, to which I pointed out, well, if it had come out the other way in 10 hours, you would have said that it was biased that way.
00:15:10.000 So, obviously, you just don't like the outcome.
00:15:12.000 What I'm saying is, if they'd considered this for a week, and then they'd come back with that verdict, I still would have thought they got it wrong, but at least I would have thought they considered the evidence.
00:15:20.000 You come back in 10 hours after a three-week trial on something like that, and it doesn't seem to me that the jury did a great job considering the evidence, just on the basis of the sort of outside... on the basis of the outside data.
00:15:34.000 Well, now we know.
00:15:35.000 Now we know that at least one of these jurors was apparently an activist.
00:15:41.000 According to Daily Wire, one of the jurors who served on the murder trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin reportedly sported a Black Lives Matter t-shirt with a reference to the death of George Floyd, seemingly challenging what the juror told the Chauvin defense team during jury selection.
00:15:54.000 According to a report from the Post Millennial, now public juror Brandon Mitchell, 31, is seen in a Facebook post published in August 2020.
00:16:02.000 Right, well before the trial, August 2020, wearing a hat that says Black Lives Matter, and a t-shirt that says BLM, with the words, Get Your Knee Off Our Necks, a reference to the death of Floyd.
00:16:14.000 The photo was posted by a Travis Mitchell, with the caption, The next generation being socially active, representing in D.C., my son, Marzel, my nephew, Brandon Reen Mitchell, and brother, Maurice Johnsenus Johnson.
00:16:25.000 Here's the photo in question, it was tweeted out by Jack Posobiec.
00:16:29.000 Also, this person apparently runs a podcast, Mitchell told the judge on March 15th, when he was asked if he was aware of the Chauvin case and George Floyd, he said, quote, he'd heard some basic info about trial dates, et cetera, from the news, but not the sort of information that would keep him from serving as an impartial juror.
00:16:45.000 Apparently, he also ran a podcast covering George Floyd and other racial justice issues.
00:16:50.000 He then went on to give an interview to the Wall Street Journal in which he described how he decided to go public to help push for change and told of his many negative experiences dealing with law enforcement when he was younger.
00:17:00.000 If Mitchell was truly unfamiliar with the George Floyd case before joining the jury, he certainly made up for lost time in a hurry, says Hot Air.
00:17:06.000 But that seems patently preposterous.
00:17:08.000 So, where exactly does that leave us now?
00:17:11.000 Well, it leaves you with a pretty strong case for a mistrial.
00:17:15.000 I mean, if this guy is the juror, which apparently he is, how is that not leading the news?
00:17:21.000 I mean, I honestly don't understand.
00:17:23.000 How does that not lead the news?
00:17:24.000 Let's say that Derek Chauvin had been acquitted, and it turns out one of the jurors had been wearing a Blue Lives Matter t-shirt with a shirt that said, Derek Chauvin is innocent.
00:17:33.000 Do you think that that might be the cause of some consternation?
00:17:37.000 Have you seen this story covered anywhere?
00:17:39.000 Anywhere?
00:17:41.000 Because again, the narrative must be pursued at the cost of the fact, at the cost of individual justice, if need be.
00:17:48.000 Pretty astonishing stuff.

00:19:01.000 Okay, so all of this has a predictable impact.
00:19:04.000 The predictable impact is that we are only supposed to follow the narratives that the media would like us to follow.
00:19:08.000 The narratives are that the cops are bad, and if you yell at the cops, this makes you good.
00:19:13.000 The narrative is that cops don't deserve impartial jurors.
00:19:17.000 After all, we know systemic police racism means that Derek Chauvin is a racist, even though not an iota of evidence was provided for the idea that Derek Chauvin was a racist.
00:19:25.000 America is racist, which means that Tim Scott is bad.
00:19:27.000 You can be as racist to Tim Scott as you want to be.
00:19:30.000 And not only that, the left has a prerogative in cramming all this down on your children, because critical race theory is being rammed into the public schools.
00:19:38.000 This is something that's being pushed by the Biden administration.
00:19:42.000 And by the media, particularly.
00:19:43.000 We talked about this at length yesterday.
00:19:45.000 The media, of course, treat it as an act of aggression when conservatives notice what the left is doing.
00:19:50.000 So the left does something truly astonishing and terrible, and the right goes, that's terrible.
00:19:54.000 And the left goes, how dare you notice?
00:19:55.000 You're pouncing now.
00:19:57.000 Here's the piece from the Washington Post's education section.
00:20:01.000 As schools expand racial equity work, conservatives see a new threat in critical race theory.
00:20:06.000 How dare they?
00:20:09.000 Laura Meckler and Hannah Natanson, right?
00:20:10.000 I mean, this is just propaganda talk right here.
00:20:12.000 The nation's reckoning over race.
00:20:14.000 Again, always that word, reckoning over race.
00:20:16.000 It's always a reckoning.
00:20:18.000 How about an ongoing debate over how best to teach our children?
00:20:21.000 Wouldn't that be a more objective way of determining a reckoning?
00:20:24.000 Reckoning, of course, suggests that America is nationally guilty and now has to pay a price.
00:20:27.000 And that price will come in the form of how we indoctrinate your kids.
00:20:31.000 Oh, is that what they're doing?
00:20:31.000 Reckoning over race has reached thousands of U.S. schools, and so too has a conservative backlash.
00:20:36.000 Ooh, backlash.
00:20:37.000 Schools across the country, says the Washington Post, are working to address systemic racism and inject an anti-racist mindset into campus life.
00:20:43.000 Oh, is that what they're doing?
00:20:45.000 So you're taking for granted that systemic racism is a thing, and you're going to use the language of the left.
00:20:50.000 They would never use this sort of language with regard to any right-wing movement.
00:20:54.000 Imagine if it said, Would you ever see that line in the Washington Post?
00:21:02.000 Of course not.
00:21:03.000 But where advocates see racial progress, opponents see an effort to shame white teachers and sometimes students for being part of an oppressive system.
00:21:10.000 I mean, honest to God, I don't, like, did Imbram Kendi write this article?
00:21:15.000 In particular, conservatives have seized on the idea that schools are promoting critical race theory, a decades-old academic framework that examines how policies and the law perpetuate systemic racism.
00:21:24.000 It holds in part that racism is woven into the fabric of the nation's history and life, a product of the system, and not just individual bad actors.
00:21:31.000 Well, it doesn't hold that in part.
00:21:31.000 It holds that in full.
00:21:33.000 I mean, the critical race theory says that all of our institutions are corrupt.
00:21:35.000 It's the same crap that Al Sharpton is spewing right there, or that Cori Bush is spewing right there.
00:21:41.000 Critics say this approach injects race into what should be, in their view, a colorblind system.
00:21:45.000 Proponents counter U.S.
00:21:46.000 schools have never been colorblind, and insist they aren't pushing critical race theory anyway.
00:21:50.000 The equity work is critical, they say, to address systemic barriers holding back students of color and to create schools that are truly inclusive.
00:21:56.000 Notice all the mush words here.
00:21:57.000 Systemic barriers.
00:21:58.000 Okay, define them.
00:21:58.000 Like testing?
00:22:00.000 Because they're trying to get rid of testing in New York City because testing is too beneficial to Asian American students who are doing incredibly well on the tests.
00:22:06.000 To create schools that are truly inclusive.
00:22:08.000 What do you mean truly inclusive?
00:22:09.000 Are any of these schools barring black students?
00:22:11.000 And if they are merit-based schools, is that non-inclusive?
00:22:15.000 The issues are widespread.
00:22:17.000 Data consistently show that students of color are more likely to be disciplined than their white peers and receive harsher punishments for the same infractions.
00:22:23.000 Well, actually, that's not what the data show.
00:22:24.000 What the data tend to show is that students of color are more likely to be disciplined, but it's not clear they receive harsher punishments for the same infractions.
00:22:30.000 It depends on the record of the student previously and the school they go to.
00:22:35.000 Black and Hispanic students are less likely to be placed in advanced or enriched classes starting in elementary school.
00:22:40.000 Okay, usually that is based on the teachers making a determination and or testing.
00:22:45.000 Many experts say school curricula have failed to adequately reflect the perspectives of indigenous and marginalized communities.
00:22:50.000 So, yes, we're going to indoctrinate your kids in a bunch of diversity courses.
00:22:55.000 And students and parents themselves often report that school culture does not feel welcoming.
00:22:59.000 Oh, well, it doesn't feel welcoming.
00:23:00.000 Okay, so, there's been massive blowback against this, and the left doesn't like it.
00:23:04.000 That blowback has come in the form of conservatives saying, you don't get to indoctrinate our kids in all of your racial and racist crap.
00:23:11.000 Which prompted Nicole Hannah-Jones, the pseudo-journalist at the New York Times, a purveyor of prevarication and garbage.
00:23:18.000 to say, how dare they try and stop people from teaching the 1619 Project to small children.
00:23:23.000 No, it's an educational issue.
00:23:23.000 This is a free speech issue.
00:23:25.000 It is not a free speech issue.
00:23:26.000 And by the way, there's a great irony to Nikole Hannah-Jones, one of the people who loves cancellation more than nearly anybody else in American life.
00:23:32.000 She said that people in the media should have a reckoning over January 6th.
00:23:36.000 Like people should get fired if they backed Trump.
00:23:39.000 Here she is saying, oh, people are being mean to me.
00:23:40.000 World's tiniest violin for this liar.
00:23:42.000 This is fundamentally a free speech issue.
00:23:47.000 If you look at the rhetoric of Senator McConnell and of state legislators all across the country that are trying to get bills passed to prohibit the teaching of the 1619 Project, it's not about the facts of history.
00:24:00.000 It's about trying to prohibit the teaching of ideas that they don't like.
00:24:04.000 So we, you know, I've been a little appalled by the silence of free speech advocates as their attempts to ban ideas from being taught.
00:24:13.000 This is not a free speech issue.
00:24:15.000 This is a K-12 education issue, which is controlled by local school boards.
00:24:18.000 The hell is she talking about?
00:24:20.000 Nobody's saying that Nikole Hannah-Jones should lose her job.
00:24:21.000 I mean, she sucks at her job, but I don't think she should.
00:24:24.000 Frankly, I think they should make her just official EIC of the New York Times so they can completely blow out their credibility.
00:24:29.000 That seems like a positive move to me.
00:24:31.000 We'll get to more of this in just one second.
00:24:32.000 First, let us talk about the fact that right now, you're probably not thinking too much about things you can do to better your sleep quality, right?
00:24:39.000 If you are, then you've probably already gone, maybe you got a better pillow, or maybe you got a better mattress.
00:24:43.000 But one thing you didn't think about is the sheets, okay?
00:24:45.000 The sheets you sleep on, they have to be quality.
00:24:48.000 In fact, the sheets I sleep on, Bolin brand sheets, let me just tell you, I got rid of all the other sheets in my house that are that good.
00:24:53.000 If you dream of comfortable sheets at a price that won't keep you up at night, look no further than Boll & Branch.
00:24:57.000 Boll & Branch makes the softest organic sheets on the market.
00:25:00.000 They get better with every wash, and comfort is not their only standard.

00:25:19.000 The perfect year-round sheets for most sleepers.
00:25:22.000 Boll & Branch focuses on quality over quantity.
00:25:25.000 No inflated thread count here, because more isn't always better.
00:25:27.000 You always see that, you drive past like a gas station, like one million thread count.
00:25:31.000 You're like, oh, it must be great.
00:25:32.000 Got a lot of threads.
00:25:32.000 You don't even know what that means.
00:25:33.000 The reality is you need the sheets from Boll & Branch.
00:25:35.000 They are indeed fantastic.
00:25:37.000 Experience the best sheets you've ever felt at bollandbranch.com.

00:25:49.000 Shapiro to get 15% off your first set of sheets.
00:25:51.000 These are amazing sheets.
00:25:52.000 You're going to love them.
00:25:54.000 Okay, so...
00:25:55.000 Again, all of this is part and parcel of the left's attempt to take over institutions.
00:26:00.000 They want to take over the institutions of policing and destroy policing.
00:26:04.000 They want to take over the institutions of education and destroy education.
00:26:07.000 And then they want to force you into the corner with regard to COVID with a bunch of just sheer nonsense.
00:26:12.000 There will be blowback to this, by the way.
00:26:13.000 You can see the blowback happening.
00:26:14.000 The blowback to critical race theory in the public schools is going to be severe, and it should be severe.
00:26:18.000 There are people like Chris Rufo doing an excellent job of exposing the predations of critical race theory in the classroom.
00:26:24.000 There will be blowback.
00:26:26.000 NBC News can say the country is heavily divided on this stuff.
00:26:28.000 It is not.
00:26:29.000 In Texas, that school board won 70-30 against CRT because CRT is a bunch of propagandistic BS.
00:26:35.000 And there's going to be blowback against COVID as well, because the standards that are being pushed by the left with regard to COVID, masking, social distancing, they do not make any sense at all.
00:26:45.000 Let me give you an example of how little sense any of the stuff being pushed by the left makes on COVID.
00:26:49.000 So, you'll recall, because I played it a couple of times on the show, that the President of the United States, Joe Biden, that Joe Biden has said that it is a Patriotic duty, man, to wear your mask.
00:27:01.000 Yeah, I'm vaccinated, and even though I'm vaccinated, I'm double-vaxxed, even though I'm double-vaxxed.
00:27:09.000 If I sat next to you, Jim Bob Billy Joe, Pony Soldier, if I sat next to you and you were vaxxed, I'd wear a mask.
00:27:16.000 It's patriotic, man.
00:27:18.000 Come on, man.
00:27:19.000 I don't even wear a mask outside for no reason at all.
00:27:25.000 Because masks.
00:27:26.000 Yeah, dude.
00:27:28.000 OK, so you remember he said all that and it was crazy and wild and made no sense and conflicted with his own CDC standards.
00:27:28.000 Come on.
00:27:34.000 Well, now he went to Georgia and he visited with Jimmy Carter.
00:27:38.000 First of all, let me just note, this picture, which was put out by the Carter Center, never use this kind of fisheye lens.
00:27:45.000 Whatever lens you were using in this picture at Carter Center, people, don't do it ever again.
00:27:51.000 This is one of the creepiest pictures I have ever seen.
00:27:53.000 This looks like forced perspective from Lord of the Rings, where Elijah Wood is sitting next to Ian McKellen.
00:27:58.000 They're actually the same size, but Elijah Wood is three feet tall and Ian McKellen is seven feet tall.
00:28:02.000 This picture is of Joe Biden.
00:28:05.000 For those who can't see, first of all, you should go look at the picture because it's hysterically funny.
00:28:08.000 It's Joe Biden kneeling next to a chair where Jimmy Carter sits.
00:28:10.000 Jimmy Carter's 96 years old, so you can't blame him for sitting.
00:28:13.000 And Lady Bird Carter is sitting next to Joe Biden.
00:28:17.000 Joe Biden is kneeling down on the floor.
00:28:19.000 And Jill and Joe look like they could play center in the NBA.
00:28:24.000 Both of them.
00:28:26.000 Now, Joe Biden is like, not all that big.
00:28:29.000 Joe Biden is something like five foot five.
00:28:31.000 And Joe Biden is six foot.
00:28:33.000 He looks like he is Andre the Giant in this photo.
00:28:36.000 And Lady Bird and Jimmy look like they're straight from the Lollipop Guild.
00:28:41.000 I don't know what happened here with the lens, but it is super duper weird.
00:28:47.000 It looks like we elected giant monsters to be president and first lady of the United States.
00:28:53.000 Best tweet on this that I saw was, Watch Jimmy Carter recite the Malay speech while Jill Biden drinks a glass of water.
00:29:02.000 It looks like Charlie McCarthy here with Jill Biden.
00:29:07.000 It's so weird, man.
00:29:08.000 This is our leadership class.
00:29:10.000 Oh, this is so weird.
00:29:12.000 OK, so it's and then they've got like an open armoire in the back or something.
00:29:16.000 It's like a door behind Joe that looks like it's going to lead to Narnia.
00:29:20.000 And I don't even know, what is this?
00:29:23.000 It's like this weird, tiny China dolls next to, like, I know Jimmy Carter and Lady Bird aren't like two feet tall.
00:29:31.000 What did you do, Carter Center?
00:29:32.000 Why would you do this?
00:29:33.000 That's not actually the point of me bringing this up.
00:29:34.000 I mean, sure, it's hilarious, and strange, and also hilarious, but the actual point here is, you may have noticed that neither Jill nor Joe are masked here, next to two people who are, In their late 90s.
00:29:49.000 I mean, Jimmy Carter's had health problems.
00:29:51.000 I assume both of them are vaccinated at this point.
00:29:54.000 And Joe and Joe are right next to him.
00:29:56.000 But I was informed that even if both of you are vaccinated, you should mask up.
00:29:59.000 Now, the part of this that's hilarious is that as soon as they leave the house, then there's a picture of Joe and Joe putting on masks.
00:30:06.000 So I don't know.
00:30:08.000 Either Joe's a liar about his own masking standards, or Joe and Jill were attempting some sort of assassination against these tiny treasured members of American society.
00:30:19.000 I don't know what...
00:30:23.000 None of the standards make any sense.
00:30:24.000 And the media, of course, are promulgating the confusion.
00:30:26.000 They love the confusion.
00:30:28.000 So you have a piece in the health section of the Washington Post titled, More Than a Year Into the Pandemic.
00:30:33.000 We're still figuring out what risks we're willing to take.
00:30:35.000 Oh, are we?
00:30:37.000 Because I will tell you what risk I am willing to take.
00:30:37.000 Are we?
00:30:40.000 I've been vaccinated.
00:30:41.000 I've been double-vaxxed with the world-class, platinum-grade Pfizer vaccine.
00:30:47.000 And let me tell you, my risk tolerance, I am now immortal.
00:30:51.000 Okay, like, I'm willing to go.
00:30:54.000 I'm joking, God.
00:30:55.000 Okay, but I'm not worried about COVID at all because you shouldn't be worried about COVID if you're double vaxxed.
00:31:00.000 End of story.
00:31:01.000 You should be done.
00:31:02.000 You should take off your mask.
00:31:03.000 You should go back to regular life because the chances of you dying of COVID after you've been vaxxed in the United States, 87 million people have been fully vaxxed in the United States.
00:31:11.000 88 people, 88 out of 87 million people have died of COVID after being double vaxxed in the United States. 88.
00:31:18.000 Your chances are one in a million.
00:31:20.000 And according to the Washington Post, not according to me, according to the Washington Post, there is no data to suggest that the Vaccinated are either a chief vector of transmission, or a major vector of transmission, or indeed, even a vector of transmission.
00:31:35.000 There is no data for this at this point.
00:31:36.000 And yet, we are still hearing the talking up of COVID panic from places like the Washington Post.
00:31:41.000 Quote, when the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last week issued guidelines for what vaccinated people can do, the agency employed the word risk 43 times.
00:31:48.000 The word often carried a modifier, like increased risk, residual risk, low risk, potential risk, minimal risk, higher risk.
00:31:53.000 The CDC did not define low, minimal, or higher.
00:31:55.000 Instead, using broad brushstrokes to paint a picture of post-vaccination life.
00:31:59.000 Yes, of course they didn't, because that would imply that they have to present data.
00:32:01.000 They don't want to present data at the CDC.
00:32:03.000 They want to present whatever propaganda Joe Biden wants to present today.
00:32:06.000 Because in this dystopian future where Joe Biden controls your life, he doesn't bother to present any data.
00:32:12.000 The reality is the CDC is supposed to prevent you with science, and then you're supposed to make decisions.
00:32:15.000 But our great, ultra-crepidarian scientists have decided they are going to tell you exactly what you can and cannot do.
00:32:23.000 For example, it says in the CDC standards, indoor visits or small gatherings likely represent minimal risk to fully vaccinated people.
00:32:29.000 On Wednesday, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, who ought to be fired forthwith, said she could not give a definitive answer to what a small gathering is because there are too many variables.
00:32:39.000 Why?
00:32:40.000 I have a question.
00:32:43.000 Why is that?
00:32:44.000 Why are there too many variables?
00:32:46.000 The answer is, there are not so many variables.
00:32:48.000 You should be able to get together with a million vaccinated people.
00:32:51.000 In fact, if you're vaccinated, you should really be able to get together with a million non-vaccinated people because you're not going to die of COVID by the odds.
00:32:58.000 Okay, if we define a small and medium-sized gathering, says Walensky, we also have to define the size of the space that we're in, the ventilation that is occurring, the space between people.
00:33:06.000 No, you don't!
00:33:07.000 Once you're vaccinated, you're vaccinated.
00:33:09.000 And once you're with another vaccinated person, you ain't passing this to each other by statistics, by data.
00:33:15.000 The hell are you talking about?
00:33:16.000 Listen, I trust the science, which is why I don't trust Rochelle Walensky, who it turns out was taking full-on cues from the American Federation of Teachers and Randy Weingarten in writing the education standards.
00:33:27.000 Just as there's gonna be blowback on the policing front because the left has pushed way too far, because they don't like the cops, and they've made it very clear they think the cops are quote-unquote systemically racist, Joe Biden gets up in the State of the Union and he says things like, yeah, the cops are wonderful people, most of them, and not racist, and also systemically racist.
00:33:42.000 Like, okay, so you're just a damned liar.
00:33:45.000 And they do the same thing with COVID.
00:33:47.000 We're getting back to regular life.
00:33:48.000 Also, wear a mask when you go to the toilet by yourself.
00:33:52.000 So thank God there are places like Florida, where I live, where the governance is excellent.
00:33:57.000 Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida, he, for example, came out yesterday and he slammed the Biden approach to vaccination because that approach is garbage.
00:34:05.000 Here was Ron DeSantis.
00:34:06.000 This is clip six.
00:34:09.000 When you have people, particularly in Washington, saying, yeah, get vaccinated.
00:34:14.000 But then make sure you continue to social distance and wear masks all the time.
00:34:17.000 Well, the message that that sends to people is that the vaccines don't work.
00:34:22.000 Because if the vaccines worked, that would be your ticket to basically live normally and make decisions for yourself.
00:34:28.000 That would be the message that actually would work with people.
00:34:32.000 So I think that they've sent a message to say, you know what?
00:34:35.000 Get vaccinated, but it really ain't gonna do anything for you.
00:34:38.000 Well, why would someone want to put something in their arm if they don't think it's effective?
00:34:41.000 And the fact of the matter is, that is an anti-science posture to say that we need all these restrictions, even with mass vaccination, because the numbers of the vaccines are better than the clinical trials were, in terms of the effectiveness.
00:34:57.000 Correct!
00:34:58.000 This is a- DeSantis has been ripped up and down by your lying, lying media for full-on a year here, because they're afraid of him running in 2024.
00:35:06.000 DeSantis is a stud.
00:35:07.000 He actually studies the science.
00:35:09.000 He's been looking at the, he cites the science.
00:35:11.000 He knows the science a hell of a lot better than Joe Biden.
00:35:13.000 He doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.
00:35:15.000 I mean, Joe Biden is barely sentient at this point, and we're supposed to take his view of the science under consideration?
00:35:21.000 Absolute sheer nonsense.
00:35:22.000 This is why people are moving to Florida, gang!
00:35:25.000 And Ron DeSantis recently said the best real estate agent for Florida is New York.
00:35:28.000 Correct!
00:35:30.000 Alrighty, before we go any further, let me remind you, The Daily Wire has been just growing like crazy.

00:37:08.000 Be sure to leave a five-star review if you like what you hear.
00:37:11.000 You're listening to the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.
00:37:14.000 Hey, Joe Biden's approach to this whole masking situation is ridiculous and counterproductive.
00:37:24.000 Here's a New York Times poll.
00:37:25.000 There's a New York Times poll today asking, how likely would you be to get the vaccine when it was available to you if it meant you no longer had to wear a mask?
00:37:32.000 Hey, Republicans, 53% say they would be likely to get the vaccine if it meant they no longer had to wear a mask.
00:37:38.000 35% said they'd be interested in the vaccine if they still had to wear a mask.
00:37:40.000 That is an 18-point increase in support if you could take off your mask.
00:37:44.000 And it's true for every subgroup in American life.
00:37:47.000 White people are 15% more likely to get the vaccine if they can take off their mask.
00:37:51.000 Black people are 14% more likely.
00:37:52.000 Overall, 13% of Americans more likely to get the vaccine if they were told they could take off their mask.
00:37:57.000 So Joe Biden is being not only an idiot, He's being an a-scientific and anti-scientific moron.
00:38:03.000 It's just, it's ridiculous.
00:38:05.000 And yet we are supposed to listen to these utopian leftists on their prescriptions.
00:38:09.000 So they're wrong on the cops.
00:38:10.000 They're wrong on COVID.
00:38:11.000 Dr. Marty Bakari, who's been a frequent guest on the program, he says correctly, the CDC has been late or wrong since the pandemic began.
00:38:19.000 The CDC has been consistently late or wrong, and sometimes both, for most of the major issues that we face during the pandemic.
00:38:26.000 On warning us about the pandemic, on masks, on testing, on schools, on being outdoors, consistently.
00:38:33.000 And right now we've got a situation where it's the Wild West in terms of businesses trying to figure out when to bring employees back.
00:38:39.000 JP Morgan and Salesforce have radically different plans.
00:38:43.000 Every company is left to sort of figuring this out on their own, and what you've got is large companies hiring expensive consultants, and small businesses, which are most businesses in this country, can't afford these expensive consultants, and they're just trying to figure it out on their own, reinventing the wheel.
00:38:58.000 Okay, they are reinventing the wheel.
00:39:00.000 This whole thing is super stupid, and this is why people are leaving the blue states.
00:39:04.000 They're leaving, because blue states are governed like horse crap.
00:39:07.000 They are governed terribly.
00:39:09.000 You're going to see rising crime in blue areas, in blue states.
00:39:11.000 You're going to see a continual cram down of top-down control in these areas, and people are not going to take it.
00:39:18.000 So I have a question.
00:39:19.000 If you look at the governance in these areas, and you think to yourself, why would I trust Biden on the economy?
00:39:25.000 You are thinking correctly.
00:39:27.000 Joe Biden is about to inflate the currency.
00:39:29.000 We are watching it happen in real time.
00:39:31.000 You know, when all the experts tell you, the experts, the same experts who said don't mask at the very beginning, and then they said you have to shut down the schools, and then they said you have to keep masking even if you're vaccinated.
00:39:39.000 When that same cadre, the new ruling class, I talk about this group of people and how they are formed in my brand new book that is coming out in July, The Authoritarian Moment.
00:39:48.000 Go check that out for pre-order right now.
00:39:50.000 When this class of people tells you anything, your first move should be doubt.
00:39:54.000 It doesn't mean they're wrong, but it should be doubt, particularly when it's overwhelming, when there's a 100% consensus.
00:39:59.000 You don't have to worry about inflation.
00:40:00.000 You think to yourself, wait a second, we're going to try and blow $10 trillion into the American economy after blowing $7 trillion into the American economy last year, minimum, above and beyond the budget.
00:40:10.000 And your idea is that we somehow are not going to get inflation?
00:40:16.000 You can guarantee that?
00:40:18.000 And yet, this is what is being promoted.
00:40:20.000 Endless spending.
00:40:21.000 Endless spending.
00:40:22.000 Joe Biden, by the way, again, the man cannot speak sentient paragraphs at this point.
00:40:26.000 So yesterday, he just told the overt lie that if you make under $400,000, you won't pay a single dollar in taxes.
00:40:31.000 Presumably, he meant you won't pay a single additional dollar in taxes, which again, is a lie.
00:40:35.000 Corporate taxes hit people who make under $400,000 a year.
00:40:37.000 Also, the White House says that if you're a couple making $400,000 a year, that means that you will be subject to the $400,000 penalty.
00:40:41.000 that you will be subject to the $400,000 penalty.
00:40:45.000 So if you make 250 and your wife makes 150 or the reverse, you will be paying the same tax rate as the guy who makes $400,000.
00:40:53.000 That's a pretty major change from his original promise.
00:40:57.000 Sounds like two individuals who aren't making $400,000 paying higher taxes.
00:41:00.000 In any case, here was Joe Biden just saying ridiculous things about taxes.
00:41:05.000 The reason I'm bothering to do this is I keep hearing on the press Biden's gonna raise your taxes.
00:41:10.000 Anybody making less than $400,000 a year will not pay a single penny in taxes.
00:41:17.000 Oh, weird.
00:41:18.000 Also, he says that the American Families Plan, his new $2 trillion boondoggle directed at spending more money than God has ever seen, it won't add a penny to our deficit.
00:41:27.000 And if you believe this, then Joe Biden has a bridge in Brooklyn that is available for sale.
00:41:33.000 Here's what the American Families Plan doesn't do.
00:41:36.000 It doesn't add a single penny to our deficit.
00:41:39.000 It's paid for by making sure corporate America and the wealthiest 1% just pay their fair share.
00:41:45.000 I come from the corporate capital of the world.
00:41:48.000 More corporations are incorporated in the state of Delaware than all the rest of the nation combined.
00:41:55.000 And I'm not anti-corporate.
00:41:57.000 But it's about time they start paying their fair share.
00:42:01.000 This is such a nonsensical line.
00:42:02.000 Whenever people like Biden say things like, they need to pay their fair share.
00:42:06.000 Let me explain, dude.
00:42:07.000 The top 10% of income earners in the United States pay all net taxes in the United States.
00:42:13.000 All.
00:42:14.000 Like all of them.
00:42:15.000 100% of net taxes in the United States are paid by the top 10% of income earners.
00:42:18.000 And when you tax corporations, what do you think happens?
00:42:21.000 You make them less competitive on the world stage, they bleed down the tax increases to consumers so prices rise, and they take more money out of the pockets of their own employees.
00:42:29.000 So that Joe Biden can spend it on whatever idiotic depends products he feels like spending it on that day.
00:42:35.000 It's absurd.
00:42:37.000 Okay, and then Jill.
00:42:38.000 The good news is that we have Dr. Jill to tell us how we should spend our money, too.
00:42:41.000 Now, honestly, one of the most annoying things in public life is when we pretend that the spouses of people we elect are actually elected officials.
00:42:47.000 I don't understand why we do this.
00:42:48.000 It makes no sense.
00:42:50.000 Like, yes, my wife is a doctor.
00:42:51.000 Also, don't come to me for medical advice.
00:42:53.000 Go to my wife for medical advice.
00:42:55.000 I didn't go to medical school.
00:42:56.000 She went to medical school.
00:42:57.000 I do politics.
00:42:58.000 Don't go to my wife for her political prognostications.
00:43:00.000 She doesn't know things about that.
00:43:03.000 Why in the world do we treat the first lady?
00:43:04.000 This is true in bipartisan fashion.
00:43:07.000 We didn't elect Joe Biden.
00:43:09.000 We didn't elect Hillary Clinton to be the co-president of the United States, as Bill Clinton once suggested.
00:43:15.000 We did not elect Laura Bush.
00:43:17.000 We did not elect Michelle Obama.
00:43:19.000 It seems to really only apply with Democrats, where they actually try and make the First Lady into a political figure of some sort of weight and impact.
00:43:26.000 But it is a point of high irritation to me that we pretend that the First Lady should have any impact on American public life.
00:43:32.000 She's along for the ride, and it would be—Douglas Emhoff is a dude.
00:43:36.000 I care zero bleeps about what Doug Emhoff has to say.
00:43:39.000 He is not an elected official.
00:43:40.000 But here's Joe Biden, Jill Biden, who wrote an amazing dissertation, an incredible dissertation on junior college when she was at the University of Delaware.
00:43:49.000 She worked hard for that doctorate for DDS in education at a university with a building named after her husband.
00:43:59.000 I mean, no inside baseball there, at all.
00:44:01.000 It was probably the best dissertation anybody ever wrote, except for how it wasn't, because it's publicly available.
00:44:05.000 Anyway, here's Dr. Jill, the greatest doctor in all the land, explaining that, in her opinion, we should just bust out the wallet and start spending for free community college for everybody, because that's really what we need.
00:44:15.000 What we need is credential inflation.
00:44:18.000 We need to make sure that people who only graduate high school are disadvantaged, as compared to people who go to community college and study a couple of years in English Lit.
00:44:26.000 Makes perfect sense.
00:44:26.000 Here's Jill Biden saying silly things.
00:44:29.000 Community college graduates provide more security for their families.
00:44:35.000 They invest in their local schools and businesses.
00:44:38.000 And they bring needed skills to our workforce, helping us to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
00:44:46.000 That's why we need two years of free community college!
00:44:53.000 Yeah!
00:44:56.000 We need two free years of community and free chicken.
00:44:59.000 And everybody needs two belly buttons.
00:45:01.000 And a horse.
00:45:02.000 That's what we need.
00:45:04.000 And blowing money into the economy, it won't have any impact at all.
00:45:06.000 You know how we know it won't have any impact?
00:45:08.000 Because the smartest people have told us it won't have any impact at all.
00:45:11.000 I mean, in fact, they say inflation is not going to hurt us in any way.
00:45:14.000 Also, New York Times today, widespread commodity shortages raise inflation fears.
00:45:18.000 Oh, who could have predicted that blowing needless money into an economy that's already in a state of recovery would inflate the currency and inflate prices?
00:45:26.000 Who could have predicted such a thing except for any person who understands how inflation works?
00:45:31.000 According to the New York Times, in a normal year, Ron Wayland, vice president of Roger B. Kennedy Construction, receives one or two dear-valued customer letters from suppliers, notifying him of price increases for certain materials.
00:45:41.000 This year, a stack of 30 such warnings sits on his desk in Orlando, Florida, alerting him that things as diverse as lumber, drywall, aluminum, and steel are going to cost 10 to 20% more.
00:45:50.000 The notices are the result of commodity shortages that are rippling across the United States economy as growing demand for housing, cars, electronics, and other goods runs up against the supply chain congestion Banned high tariffs left behind by former President Donald J. Trump.
00:46:03.000 So I love that.
00:46:04.000 The first two paragraphs, they're like, look at that.
00:46:06.000 The prices are just skyrocketing for this sort of stuff.
00:46:08.000 Trump!
00:46:09.000 It's like, he hasn't been president for a while here, guys.
00:46:13.000 Like, he hasn't been here since January.
00:46:16.000 And I'm noticing that it says this year, a stack of 30 such, this year is 2021.
00:46:21.000 Donald Trump was president of the United States for a grand total of 20 days in 2021.
00:46:24.000 Now, I'm no fan of tariffs, but the chief driver right now of inflation ain't the tariffs.
00:46:31.000 The chief driver, right, because it would have been the driver of inflation a year ago or two years ago.
00:46:34.000 The chief driver of inflation right now is the fact that you are blowing into the economy money you do not need to spend and has not been created yet.
00:46:43.000 The shortages and the price increases they are eliciting are being watched closely by the Biden administration, which is under increasing pressure from industry groups and businesses to take steps to ease them.
00:46:51.000 Automakers want the White House to help them get the semiconductors they need to make cars, while the housing industry is asking for tariff relief.
00:46:58.000 Pressure to intervene could intensify as the administration pushes for a multi-trillion dollar infrastructure investment package that includes money for building roads, bridges, and electric vehicle charging stations, all of which could become increasingly expensive if prices keep rising.
00:47:10.000 Why they haven't waited for things to settle down and get back to normal?
00:47:13.000 We keep waiting for things to settle down and get back to normal, but they haven't, said Mr. Whelan.
00:47:17.000 He's considered using other material, such as metal stud systems rather than wood framing, for some construction projects because the price of lumber has almost tripled in the last year.
00:47:26.000 Economists and policymakers are carefully tracking the shortages as they hunt for signs of inflation, and companies are increasingly worried that the price spikes may not be temporary.
00:47:34.000 Oh, you think?
00:47:36.000 Oh, for now, the Fed is not overly concerned about the price increases, viewing them as temporary, and not the type of inflation that could spiral out of control.
00:47:43.000 Well, I mean, if the Fed is good for one thing, it's making amazing predictions about the economy.
00:47:47.000 They did an amazing job in the lead-up to the Great Recep- And they did an unbelievable job in the lead up to the dot com... And they did an incredible job in the lead up to the... Yeah, the experts, trust them.
00:48:00.000 Trust them on COVID, where they have been wrong throughout.
00:48:02.000 Trust them when it comes to race, where they're not just wrong, but evil.
00:48:06.000 Trust them when it comes to blowing money into the economy we don't have, because what could be the downside?
00:48:11.000 What could be the downside?
00:48:13.000 And the answer, of course, is that the downside is precisely the reverse of what they are promising.
00:48:17.000 Less prosperity.
00:48:19.000 Less earning.
00:48:20.000 Less lifestyle.
00:48:22.000 Less equality.
00:48:23.000 Less equity.
00:48:24.000 By the way, less fairness.
