00:00:00.000 So, we found out this week that Americans wanted to punish the Trump administration.
00:00:04.000 Okay.
00:00:05.000 And instead, Americans punished themselves.
00:00:09.000 Democracy is the theory, as H.L. Mencken put it, that the common people know what they want and deserve to get it good and hard.
00:00:14.000 Well, check your 401k today, folks.
00:00:17.000 Welcome to the era of democratic dominance.
00:00:27.000 So, America, how are we feeling today?
00:00:28.000 Feeling good?
00:00:30.000 Americans delivered a message to the Trump administration.
00:00:33.000 We didn't like the corruption, the chaos, the unaffordability.
00:00:35.000 All understandable.
00:00:37.000 And in response, Americans elevated a bunch of Democrats and then passed a bunch of measures that worked toward destroying economic growth in the country.
00:00:44.000 Do we all feel lots better now?
00:00:46.000 So, right after the election, the Dow Jones Industrial Futures were surging.
00:00:51.000 Thursday morning, they were surging.
00:00:52.000 Here was MS Now, Stephanie Rule, celebrating that stock surge.
00:00:57.000 Stocks surged yesterday.
00:00:59.000 The Dow recorded its second best day since President Trump was reelected.
00:01:04.000 For months, Donald Trump has tried to equate the market with the economy, warning that stocks would tank without him.
00:01:09.000 He's Mr. Market.
00:01:11.000 But yesterday, investors proved him wrong.
00:01:13.000 They made it abundantly clear that they welcome a massive check on presidential power and the push-pull of a divided government, that this country prioritizes respecting the rule of law with functioning elections and democracy.
00:01:27.000 It was all great, right?
00:01:28.000 It was all great.
00:01:29.000 And then, according to CNBC, the NASDAQ composite declined 5.52% to close at 24,315 yesterday.
00:01:39.000 The tech heavy index slid into correction territory, which, of course, is perfectly rational given investor concerns.
00:01:47.000 It fell more than 10% below a record set last month.
00:01:50.000 The SP 500 dropped 4.36% to end at 7,353.73%.
00:01:56.000 And the Dow Jones shed 1,800 points or 3.44%.
00:02:01.000 The Dow more than wiped out its advance from Wednesday's post election rally.
00:02:05.000 All three major averages posted their worst day since April 2025.
00:02:09.000 Chip makers Broadcom and Nvidia, respectively, fell 10 and 9% Thursday, while software stock Oracle moved lower by almost 7%.
00:02:16.000 President Trump, of course, put out a statement saying, Yeah, guys, that's what I was talking about.
00:02:20.000 Quote The stock market crashed today because the Democrats had a big Tuesday.
00:02:23.000 So sad to see.
00:02:24.000 You have only yourselves to blame.
00:02:26.000 I mean, to be fair to the American people, they also have a president who was very unpopular.
00:02:32.000 And a lot of people voted against him, but that comes along with some collateral side effects.
00:02:36.000 And one of those side effects is a cratering of the economy.
00:02:39.000 So I know there are a lot of people who ask why this matters.
00:02:42.000 Why talk about the stock market?
00:02:43.000 After all, the stock market is just for the elites.
00:02:45.000 The stock market is just what, you know, the white collar people talk about.
00:02:49.000 It's just hitting those annoying tech bros.
00:02:51.000 So really, who cares?
00:02:52.000 The stock market has nothing to do with affordability or economic growth, not for, you know, the real everyday Americans.
00:02:58.000 This is wrong with a capital W. Wrong.
00:03:01.000 So let's start with the obvious.
00:03:03.000 58% of all American adults are invested in the stock market.
00:03:06.000 About 70 million Americans have 401ks.
00:03:09.000 Now, losses in the stock market are what they call paper losses, meaning that you don't technically lose money unless you cash out.
00:03:16.000 But here would be the problem.
00:03:18.000 The whole complaint in this election cycle is that things are unaffordable, which means you need access to cash, which means lots of people, thanks to wages not keeping up with inflation, will now need to cash out their 401ks.
00:03:29.000 And if you do that lower, it means you lost money.
00:03:32.000 But of course, that's not the only thing the stock market drop signifies.
00:03:36.000 Stock markets, what are they?
00:03:37.000 Okay, stock markets are not betting markets, not what they are.
00:03:39.000 Stock markets are pools of liquidity.
00:03:42.000 They are giant floating oceans of money waiting to gobble up new offerings or new issuances of stock from currently publicly traded companies, right?
00:03:50.000 If Burger King wants to raise money, they issue some stock and you buy that stock.
00:03:55.000 When the stock market drops, that means that companies can't really issue more shares into the market at competitive prices because nobody will buy them.
00:04:03.000 Now, again, companies issue new shares in order to raise capital, right?
00:04:05.000 They want money so they can, you know, hire and expand and innovate and research and build.
00:04:11.000 So, when the stock market dumps, companies can't really do that.
00:04:15.000 They can't IPO, they can't issue new stock.
00:04:18.000 And guess what?
00:04:19.000 Banks don't want to lend to those companies either because people have less money, as stated, to actually pay for new and good things.
00:04:24.000 So, companies start to go under.
00:04:26.000 They start to contract.
00:04:27.000 So, let's use my own company as an example.
00:04:29.000 We're a private company, but let's say that we weren't.
00:04:31.000 Let's say we were in the public markets.
00:04:33.000 And let's say we wanted to raise some money to make another Matt Walsh documentary.
00:04:36.000 But it turns out the stock market as a whole is dropping.
00:04:39.000 So, we can't actually just sell some shares and raise more money to do that documentary.
00:04:43.000 So, instead, we just don't sell the shares, which means fewer people subscribe because we don't have a Matt Walsh documentary that you want to see.
00:04:50.000 And that means we start to contract and we have to fire people.
00:04:53.000 And we can't get a private loan because we're now in decline.
00:04:55.000 Which means now we lay more people off, right?
00:04:57.000 That's how companies work.
00:04:59.000 Now, you say to yourself, wait, wait, wait, I don't work for a publicly traded company.
00:05:02.000 So start with this.
00:05:03.000 One third of all employees in America work directly for a company that's publicly traded.
00:05:09.000 But you say, listen, that's only one third.
00:05:11.000 What about the other two thirds?
00:05:12.000 What about my private company?
00:05:13.000 Okay, so let's take the Daily Wire as a real example.
00:05:16.000 We're a private company, we're not publicly traded.
00:05:18.000 We grow based on our subscriber base and people who advertise.
00:05:22.000 If a bunch of people lose their jobs, broadly speaking, across the economy, Or products get more expensive and worse because companies can't invest in them.
00:05:30.000 Then people have less money to spend.
00:05:31.000 They have to spend more money on other stuff, which means presumably fewer subscribers.
00:05:35.000 Same deal with advertisers.
00:05:37.000 This is why recessions hurt pretty much everybody at the same time.
00:05:41.000 So a stock market dump means less money for you, fewer jobs.
00:05:46.000 It means things get more expensive too, relative to your earnings.
00:05:48.000 Remember that $22 burrito people were complaining about?
00:05:51.000 I was saying like, it should be a $5 burrito.
00:05:53.000 The $22 burrito is the guy complaining he can't get his Uber Eats Chipotle.
00:05:56.000 Okay, but let's say that you're worried about the $22 burrito.
00:05:59.000 Okay, fine.
00:06:00.000 Well, now, relative to the money you're earning, it's like 25 bucks or 27 bucks or 30.
00:06:05.000 Don't worry, it gets worse.
00:06:07.000 When financial markets become frightened, banks and lenders don't lend money.
00:06:13.000 They would rather hold their cash than lend money to businesses they're afraid will fail because why would you lend money to a business that is going under?
00:06:20.000 You wouldn't, you just hold the money.
00:06:22.000 Maybe you buy bonds.
00:06:23.000 So that matters for your mortgage.
00:06:25.000 You need to show to the bank that you can pay it.
00:06:28.000 And they want their money back faster.
00:06:29.000 So that means for you on a personal level, you want to buy a house, bigger down payments will be required.
00:06:34.000 More borrowers will be rejected.
00:06:36.000 Higher interest rates will be required.
00:06:38.000 The same holds true for businesses.
00:06:40.000 They will want collateral.
00:06:41.000 They will want you to pay a higher interest rate.
00:06:43.000 More importantly, the most importantly, innovation stops.
00:06:46.000 Now, a functioning economy is all about actual innovation and making things better and newer and cheaper.
00:06:52.000 And that requires heavy investment of capital.
00:06:55.000 Cap X, right?
00:06:56.000 Capital expenditure.
00:06:57.000 If you don't have investment money, Then there are no better and no newer and no cheaper things.
00:07:03.000 I hope you enjoy your current iPhone or microwave or TV because that would be as good as it's going to get.
00:07:07.000 Now, our friends and sponsors over at CalShe, there are a couple markets worth keeping our eye on when it comes to the economy.
00:07:12.000 The prediction markets, by the way, were bang up when it came to the elections.
00:07:15.000 I mean, they were pretty much spot on.
00:07:16.000 Right now, the CalShe prediction market suggests that there's about a 23% chance of a recession over the course of the next year.
00:07:26.000 Again, a recession is defined as two consecutive quarters of negative economic growth.
00:07:31.000 That doesn't mean stagnation, it means actual recession.
00:07:33.000 So that's a Honestly, a fairly high chance.
00:07:36.000 If you go all the way back to, say, June, you were looking at a recession possibility of maybe 50%.
00:07:40.000 So it's down from there, but 25%, eight, and zero.
00:07:43.000 And meanwhile, the calcium markets also have a market on U.S. real GDP growth in 2026.
00:07:50.000 That would be this year.
00:07:53.000 The suggestion is that it will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 2.1% to 2.5%.
00:07:57.000 Now, again, we kind of know what U.S. real GDP growth is going to be in 2026.
00:08:00.000 The real question is going to be what U.S. real GDP growth is in 2027.
00:08:05.000 And the calcium markets suggest that.
00:08:09.000 It's not going to be amazing.
00:08:11.000 It's unlikely to be fantastic.
00:08:14.000 Again, the highest percentage of people are saying it'll be somewhere between 1.6 and 2%.
00:08:18.000 I'm going to find out in short order.
00:08:20.000 Now, again, some people are looking at the markets today.
00:08:22.000 They're relying on a good jobs report that came out this month.
00:08:25.000 Jobs market at 165,000 jobs that exceeded expectations.
00:08:29.000 Well, yeah, because the Democrats had not yet been elected.
00:08:32.000 So you are looking at a retrospective report about job creation before the Democrats were elected.
00:08:37.000 We'll see where it goes from here.
00:08:38.000 Well, listen, the elections the other night, they're enough to make me lose some sleep, except that I'm still sleeping soundly on my Helix sleep mattress.
00:08:44.000 Why?
00:08:45.000 Well, because I didn't just go to one of those big box mattress stores and lie down on a mattress for two seconds flat and go, yeah, this is comfortable enough.
00:08:51.000 Lying on a lumpy mattress for the next 10 years.
00:08:51.000 And then I'm.
00:08:53.000 Instead, I went to Helix and I got a personalized mattress, which you can also do.
00:08:57.000 Helix has more than 20 mattress models.
00:08:59.000 Their two minute sleep quiz considers your sleep position, comfort preferences, and support needs, and then matches you with the right one.
00:09:05.000 Every Helix ships free in the US and includes the Happy with Helix guarantee and a 365 night sleep trial.
00:09:11.000 That's an entire year to sleep on the mattress at home and make sure it's right for you.
00:09:14.000 Go to helixsleep.comslash Ben for up to 30% off during Helix's Black Friday sale.
00:09:19.000 Again, you need better sleep quality.
00:09:21.000 It's one of the things that allows you to keep going in the world.
00:09:24.000 Even in difficult times, you need your sleep.
00:09:25.000 And Helix Sleep will make that happen by giving you a mattress that's made for you, not for some other schlub.
00:09:29.000 Head on over to helixleep.comslash Ben.
00:09:31.000 Get 30% off during Helix's Black Friday sale.
00:09:34.000 Again, that's helixleep.comslash Ben.
00:09:37.000 Get a mattress of your very own made just for you up to 30% off.
00:09:40.000 Helixleep.comslash Ben.
00:09:42.000 Now, why is all this happening?
00:09:43.000 You have to start with the premise that people literally do not understand economics, like at all.
00:09:48.000 This is a poll from Echelon Insights.
00:09:50.000 And here is what it shows.
00:09:52.000 It shows the Democrats, Especially Democrats under the age of 50, view the free market economy positively by 22 points.
00:10:02.000 They view socialism positively, 35 points positive.
00:10:08.000 So they're plus 22 on free market economy.
00:10:10.000 They are minus 31 on capitalism.
00:10:13.000 In other words, people don't know what in the hell they are talking about. 0.88
00:10:17.000 They do not know what in the hell, particularly Democrats, do not know what in the ever loving hell they are talking about.
00:10:25.000 Now, again, all voters say that they like the free market economy.
00:10:30.000 And then, like, that's Democrats, Republicans, everybody.
00:10:30.000 Okay.
00:10:33.000 And then you have capitalism, which is slightly less popular because Democrats drag it down.
00:10:38.000 And then social democracy, and then socialism, and then finally communism, which apparently nobody likes, including even young Democrats.
00:10:44.000 But if you can't tell the difference between, say, free market economies and socialism, as young Democrats cannot, this means that you don't know things.
00:10:55.000 And knowing things is generally a prerequisite for being a good and effective citizen.
00:11:00.000 Here's the thing.
00:11:01.000 We're very lucky.
00:11:02.000 Americans were the luckiest people on planet Earth.
00:11:04.000 There are two great privileges that you can have in life.
00:11:07.000 Privilege number one is being born into an excellent two parent household with a mom and a dad.
00:11:13.000 That is privilege number one, and there's no substitute for it.
00:11:15.000 And then there's privilege number two, and that is being born an American. 0.99
00:11:18.000 Being born in America is the greatest privilege that you can have when it comes to geopolitics because this place kicks ass. 0.98
00:11:23.000 It's awesome. 0.89
00:11:24.000 So everyone in America thinks that prosperity is just a central fact of American life, it is status quo.
00:11:30.000 It's normal.
00:11:31.000 Here's the thing it isn't.
00:11:33.000 People can vote for whatever anti wealth creation socialist they want, and it won't matter.
00:11:38.000 That's what people in America think.
00:11:39.000 This is wrong.
00:11:40.000 Again, capital W. Why are companies pulling back?
00:11:44.000 Why are investors getting scared?
00:11:46.000 Why does everything seem like it's kind of financially haywire since Tuesday?
00:11:50.000 I don't know.
00:11:51.000 Let's see if we can spot any clues, gang, because elections have consequences.
00:11:55.000 So, Representative Jamie Raskin is out there basically comparing corporations to Marie Antoinette.
00:12:02.000 Of course, Marie Antoinette was beheaded.
00:12:04.000 So here's Representative Jamie Raskin of Maryland.
00:12:08.000 Corrupt government is government that serves a tiny, tiny percentage of the people who've seized the power of government and taken political control.
00:12:19.000 And democracy and the rule of law are there to serve everybody.
00:12:23.000 And so you're talking about two completely different forms of government.
00:12:26.000 When Marie Antoinette said, let them eat cake, okay, was that a problem of accountability?
00:12:35.000 Was that a problem of affordability?
00:12:37.000 And you see the false dichotomy there.
00:12:39.000 It's the exact same thing.
00:12:41.000 If you've got monarchical, dictatorial, repressive, oligarchical government, that's extremely expensive for the common people.
00:12:51.000 Okay, so again, Jamie Raskin is comparing the current government, which again is quite corporate friendly, quite business friendly, with the French government, which was famously not particularly friendly toward private property.
00:13:07.000 Again, this is what Democrats are.
00:13:09.000 This is where we are going, gang.
00:13:10.000 And this is what people just voted for.
00:13:12.000 I mean, Representative Raskin made it even clearer as an MS now.
00:13:18.000 And he says, listen, we're just going to go against the private.
00:13:20.000 We'll go after the private corporations.
00:13:22.000 Again, remember, I did tell you this.
00:13:24.000 I said in January of 2025, the most dangerous picture in modern American history was that picture of the president at the inauguration surrounded by a bunch of tech bros.
00:13:34.000 Because if the economy went south at all, if Democrats, Decided that they were going, if the American people handed power to Democrats, if there was an enormous amount of corruption inside the administration, if any of that were to happen, then Democrats would come in with a brick and just start hitting capitalism.
00:13:50.000 They would just take it out, put its face on the curb like American History X, and go after it.
00:13:55.000 Here's Representative Raskin.
00:13:59.000 We will not hesitate to go after the private corporations that are collaborating in all of the lawlessness with Donald Trump.
00:14:08.000 And we've done it before, and we will absolutely do it again.
00:14:13.000 And by lawlessness, they just mean people who are working with the Trump administration to deregulate parts of the economy.
00:14:18.000 That's what they mean.
00:14:20.000 And a lot of those places are the biggest earners on Wall Street.
00:14:23.000 Not because they're corrupt, but because they're producing things.
00:14:25.000 NVIDIA is not the biggest earner on Wall Street because NVIDIA is corrupt.
00:14:29.000 It's because it's extremely advanced and well run.
00:14:31.000 Democrats don't care.
00:14:33.000 If you quote unquote collabed with President Trump, they are going to go after you.
00:14:37.000 That's what's coming next.
00:14:38.000 So you wonder why investors are getting skittish.
00:14:40.000 This would be the reason.
00:14:41.000 According to the Washington Sun, which is a sort of Local Democratic Oregon. House Democrats on the Judiciary and Oversight Committees have been studying a 181 page dossier that identifies hundreds of executives and companies for them to investigate after they take control of the House and Senate next year.
00:15:00.000 The document, drafted by the think tank Groundwork Collaborative and reviewed by The Washington Sun, argues that the party should respond to the results of the election by aggressively probing large corporations, including the biggest tech giants, artificial intelligence labs, natural gas firms, private prisons, and nursing home operators, among dozens of others.
00:15:16.000 Progressives will have many allies in key positions.
00:15:19.000 Bernie Sanders will be the head of the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee.
00:15:24.000 Elizabeth Warren, Pocahontas, is likely to lead the Senate Banking Committee.
00:15:31.000 Senator Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island is likely to lead the Judiciary Committee.
00:15:35.000 He, of course, hates fossil fuels.
00:15:36.000 Senator Ron Wyden, a radical leftist, will retake control of the Finance Committee.
00:15:42.000 Meanwhile, incoming House Oversight Chair, Representative Robert Garcia, Is going after the quote unquote corporations.
00:15:49.000 Corporations, by the way, again, that's just the legal form that companies take that hire people and produce things.
00:15:54.000 He's going after them.
00:15:58.000 Some corporations are in bed with the Trump administration, trading favors for access, putting in money to pay for a ballroom and Trump's monuments across D.C. that nobody asked for.
00:16:12.000 Who is benefiting from this war in Iran, from what we did in Venezuela?
00:16:19.000 Because the oil companies aren't struggling.
00:16:22.000 In some cases, the oil companies are making record profits.
00:16:26.000 And again, remember, these are people who say they want to achieve affordability and they're going to punish the oil companies.
00:16:32.000 Genius level stuff here.
00:16:34.000 You're worried about oil prices, so you voted in a bunch of people who hate oil and natural gas and wish to destroy that entire industry.
00:16:41.000 Slow clap, guys.
00:16:42.000 Again, herein lies the problem with a two party system.
00:16:45.000 In many cases, it's a good thing, in some cases, really bad.
00:16:48.000 It turns out that if you want to punish one party, you end up rewarding the party that destroys your entire financial future.
00:16:53.000 Elizabeth Warren, by the way, according to the Wall Street Journal, she's going to probe pretty much everybody.
00:16:58.000 Quote, she has called the private equity industry legal looting and written a bill that can make it easier to jail executives.
00:17:05.000 Again, the private equity industry, that is the pool of capital available for brand new companies to actually issue stock and have money to actually invest and hire people.
00:17:16.000 She's called for criminal probes into banking executives for failing to catch blowups.
00:17:20.000 She sought to delay the biggest IPO of all time, SpaceX, and raise questions about Anthropic's existential risks to humanity.
00:17:26.000 She has pledged to look into bankers' ties to Jeffrey Epstein and dealings with the Trump administration.
00:17:30.000 Now, the Massachusetts Democrat is about to take control of the powerful Senate Banking Committee, giving her the kind of expansive authority over the financial industry she's long sought and Wall Street has feared.
00:17:40.000 I know a lot of people think, oh, well, you know, Wall Street, they should fear Wall Street's bad.
00:17:43.000 Again, go back to the beginning of the show and review, please, slowly, at like 0.75, what I explained about the stock market, because that's what investment is about.
00:17:53.000 Investors do not make money as a gigantic rule, as an overall rule.
00:17:59.000 They do not make money unless the companies in which they are invested produce things that you wish to consume.
00:18:05.000 So, if you don't want those things, then definitely go along with Elizabeth Warren.
00:18:09.000 Again, remember in August 2026, she said, We should all be worried about dynamic pricing.
00:18:14.000 That's when companies change their prices in real time.
00:18:16.000 If it's hot out, the cost of ice cream could go up.
00:18:18.000 If it's cold, tea bags could go up.
00:18:20.000 It's a way for giant companies to squeeze you even more.
00:18:23.000 Well, yeah, that's just called supply and demand.
00:18:27.000 Because if you kept the price of ice cream the same when it's cold and when it's warm, you would have an oversupply of ice cream when it's cold and an undersupply when it's warm. 1.00
00:18:35.000 But she hates markets and doesn't understand them and has decided to frontally lobotomize herself. 0.99
00:18:40.000 Again, I find Elizabeth Warren to be a puzzling character because I knew her way back 20 years ago when I was in law school, and she didn't used to be completely retarded. 1.00
00:18:48.000 But apparently, she has decided to go all the way ice pick to the frontal lobe. 1.00
00:18:52.000 And that lady's going to be leading the Senate Banking Committee.
00:18:55.000 Well, listen, a growing economy is really, really, really important.
00:18:59.000 But right now, it seems like with the heartburn and stomachache and all the parties, it's very easy for everybody to just say the American dream is dead.
00:19:07.000 It's considerably harder to explain what's actually happening and why it's happening and what would make it better.
00:19:10.000 That requires more than a slogan.
00:19:12.000 It requires facts.
00:19:13.000 That's why I went head to head with left of center Scott Galloway in the first ever USA Facts debate focused on the American dream.
00:19:19.000 We debated whether capitalism is working or leaving too many people behind, whether more government is the answer or whether government is part of the problem.
00:19:26.000 And here's what made this debate different.
00:19:28.000 Each segment started with government data and facts from USA Facts.
00:19:32.000 Before we argued about the solutions, we had actual numbers to work from.
00:19:35.000 Now, having the same facts doesn't mean Scott and I suddenly agreed on everything.
00:19:38.000 Obviously, but it does mean you can see where the disagreement actually is, evaluate the arguments, and decide for yourself who makes the stronger case.
00:19:46.000 You should come away from a debate knowing more than you did going in.
00:19:48.000 That would be the point.
00:19:49.000 Watch the full debate right now on the USA Facts YouTube channel.
00:19:53.000 It has millions and millions of views.
00:19:53.000 Channel.
00:19:54.000 Go check it out right now.
00:19:55.000 USA Fact YouTube channel.
00:19:58.000 But don't worry, there's more.
00:20:00.000 So I understand that there's bipartisan upset over AI data centers.
00:20:06.000 Bipartisan upset over it.
00:20:07.000 We talked about it a lot on the show. 0.99
00:20:10.000 It's going to steal our precious farmland and also bodily fluids.
00:20:13.000 Now, again, on a just basic level, that is untrue.
00:20:17.000 The amount of actual territory covered by AI data centers is minimal compared to the gigantic swath of farmland across the United States, thank God.
00:20:24.000 We're the most blessed people again in the history of Earth, and the North American continent is an incredible place filled with gigantic swaths of usable farmland.
00:20:33.000 Right now, there are about 5,069 data centers nationally.
00:20:37.000 710 are in Virginia, 595 in Texas, 301 in Georgia, and 301 in California.
00:20:44.000 There are about 250 in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Illinois.
00:20:47.000 Now, I'm going to point out that every state that I just mentioned now has a Democrat governor.
00:20:53.000 Every single state that I mentioned has a Democrat governor.
00:20:58.000 And all of them are going to work to crack down on AI data center construction.
00:21:03.000 So, you know, that sounds like fun and games until you realize that actually, the vast majority of private sector jobs that have been created over the course of the last couple of years are either directly or indirectly connected with AI data center building.
00:21:18.000 The reality is that at least 300,000 manufacturing jobs are supported by AI data center construction, and another 300,000 jobs are supported by AI construction supply chains.
00:21:28.000 And that's not even counting the actual jobs created by AI or your personal use of AI.
00:21:33.000 Again, one of the great astonishing things about how people think about markets is that they use the very products they decry.
00:21:40.000 The vast majority of Americans use AI and they use it daily.
00:21:43.000 And then they yell about how much they hate AI and AI data center construction.
00:21:47.000 You know, probably what we should do is we should just call them big buildings that make jobs.
00:21:51.000 If we call them big buildings that make jobs, then you'll like them.
00:21:54.000 But if we call them AI data centers, then you'll hate them.
00:21:57.000 It's the same exact building doing the same exact thing.
00:22:01.000 But apparently, it's bad if you say AI data center.
00:22:03.000 I mean, this is what the polls show, by the way.
00:22:05.000 If you just get rid of the acronym AI at the beginning of data center, the popularity increases by well into double digits.
00:22:15.000 Yeah, in the same group of the American people, on average, the American people come up with the right answers over time.
00:22:25.000 But there's a difference between a voting machine, which is what elections are, and a weighing machine, which is about what is true and what is not true.
00:22:32.000 The reality is that according to the Wall Street Journal, Nvidia and Micron, two companies, account for 34% of the earnings boom in the United States.
00:22:41.000 Only 10 companies, Broadcom, Meta Platforms, again, all of these in the tech industry, account for roughly two thirds of all profit growth in America's earning boom.
00:22:53.000 Again, look at the contributions to SP 500 third quarter earnings growth from one year earlier.
00:22:59.000 And what do you see?
00:23:01.000 What you see is that the vast, majority of actual gains, serious gains, are being made in the tech sector.
00:23:12.000 SP 500, you have some 357 contributors who make up something like 15% of the total growth.
00:23:21.000 And then you have a grand total of 10 companies that make up the other 15% of all growth.
00:23:26.000 And then you have 132 decliners with negative contributions to the market.
00:23:30.000 You're going to just lop the head off of that chart, just lop it right off.
00:23:30.000 So, what are you going to do?
00:23:35.000 Because again, it's not just tech companies, it's also ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Valero, right?
00:23:39.000 You know, the oil producers that Democrats also hate.
00:23:45.000 Great job, everyone.
00:23:46.000 We're doing great here. 0.90
00:23:48.000 And now we're going to be led by former DNC Vice Chair David Hogg, a complete stick figure idiot of a human, who says, So being anti billionaires, anti war, anti AIPAC, and anti data centers is now the moderate position. 0.96
00:24:03.000 Welcome to the big tent. 0.97
00:24:05.000 Well, I hope that we all enjoy our equality and poverty.
00:24:09.000 And again, it is a bipartisan thing.
00:24:12.000 It is not just a Democrat thing.
00:24:13.000 A lot of Republicans are very upset with AI data centers.
00:24:17.000 Because technology is bad or scary.
00:24:19.000 Again, I understand why people are upset that the tech bros, who all seem to be a bunch of weirdos from Silicon Valley with no relation to actual humans, are the ones making these things.
00:24:28.000 And there are ways to restrict development of AI that prevents its worst abuses.
00:24:34.000 But you don't destroy the means of production because somebody uses that stuff wrong.
00:24:39.000 Okay, so if you are worried that somebody is using electricity in order to power a chainsaw, to murder someone, you don't destroy the electrical grid.
00:24:48.000 That is not what you do.
00:24:50.000 You somehow try to target, you know, the chainsaw using guy who's trying to murder someone.
00:24:55.000 But instead, because people don't like certain uses and abuses of AI, they've decided what if we just destroy the entire means of production?
00:25:02.000 What if we just get rid of the data centers?
00:25:05.000 That's a great idea.
00:25:06.000 No, it's not. 1.00
00:25:07.000 It's a very stupid idea. 1.00
00:25:09.000 If your idea is, I don't like drunk people driving cars and getting into crashes and killing people, therefore, we should just destroy all the oil refineries or shut them down, this would be a bad idea. 1.00
00:25:21.000 And yet, the American people are moving in that direction, thanks in large part to propaganda and foolishness.
00:25:27.000 According to CNBC, there were 41 local ballot measures in 10 states up for a vote on Tuesday that replaced restrictions on the construction of data centers in different ways, according to Ballotpedia.
00:25:35.000 Voters sided against data centers in each measure, except one in Harwood, North Dakota.
00:25:39.000 Ohio alone accounted for more than half the measures, with 21 on the ballot.
00:25:45.000 There were 27 measures that passed that restricted opposition to data center development and 13 pro data center measures that were defeated.
00:25:54.000 Democrats who campaigned on pausing or regulating new projects won key races in Ohio, Wisconsin, Georgia, and Texas.
00:26:01.000 According to the polling data, by the way, the exit polls, thinking about your vote for Congress, how important was AI data centers?
00:26:09.000 Crucial, 23%.
00:26:11.000 69% of people who said so were Democrats.
00:26:14.000 A major factor, 33%.
00:26:17.000 62% of people who said so were Democrats.
00:26:21.000 As far as who is better able to handle AI, again, it's the NBC News exit polls from the other day.
00:26:29.000 The total 30% Democrats, 95% of whom voted for Democrats.
00:26:37.000 Republicans, 27%, 94% of whom voted for Republicans.
00:26:42.000 Independents, 58% said they trust the Democrats to handle AI.
00:26:46.000 We're going to find out whether that trust is well placed or not.
00:26:49.000 Again, all of this makes you worry about the economy, worry about things like inflation, because it turns out economic growth undergirds the power of the US dollar.
00:26:57.000 Well, you might want to diversify just a little bit into precious metals.
00:27:01.000 And if you're going to do so, you should check out my friends over at Golden Crest.

00:27:21.000 Text Ben's Metals at 638 257 or head on over to goldencrestmetals.comslash Ben.
00:27:26.000 Again, when you look at the stock market performance, when you worry about the future, when you think to yourself, hey, is the government just going to inflate its way out of its gigantic debt problem?
00:27:33.000 There is a way.
00:27:34.000 To at least bet on the downside.
00:27:37.000 And that would be to ensure that you're diversified.
00:27:39.000 That's what precious metals investing is.
00:27:41.000 And the best way to get information is to call my friends over at Golden Crest Metals, 888 429 3999.
00:27:47.000 Again, that's 888 429 3999, or text Ben to Metals at 638 257, or head on over to goldencrestmetals.comslash Ben.
00:27:56.000 Also, I've been traveling a lot lately and keeping some pretty terrible hours, and so it's hard to stay healthy.
00:28:01.000 But this is why I rely on Balance of Nature.
00:28:03.000 Here is a rule that saves you a lot of time at the grocery store.
00:28:05.000 Ignore the front of the package, the front is the marketing, turn it around and read the ingredients.
00:28:09.000 This is why I like Balance of Nature, because Very often, you read the ingredients, so I don't know what any of these things are.
00:28:14.000 I have no idea what this is.
00:28:15.000 But if you look at Balance of Nature inside their whole health system, you'll find stuff you recognize apple, broccoli, ginger, turmeric, psyllium, and many more.

00:28:54.000 That's balanceofnature.com, code Shapiro.
00:28:58.000 Now, some people are trying to, I would say, make lemonade from the lemons. 0.98
00:29:05.000 Bloomberg has a completely idiotic piece today suggesting that the data center backlash will lower the odds of an AI investment bust. 0.91
00:29:13.000 Quote, around half of planned expansion nationwide is vulnerable to increased scrutiny and pushback from Democrats. 0.98
00:29:18.000 Who clinched historic victories in states like Texas, Georgia, and Ohio?
00:29:21.000 The impact will depend on the specific shape any new restrictions might take.
00:29:24.000 About 45% of planned data center capacity is in states where newly elected Democrats campaigned on such limits, according to Goldman Sachs estimates.
00:29:32.000 Texas alone accounts for 25% of the total, and Gina Hinojosa, the first Democrat to be elected governor there since 1990, has vowed to halt new approvals.
00:29:41.000 Georgia and Ohio are also getting Democratic governors for the first time in decades.
00:29:45.000 In Georgia, Keisha Lance Bottom's campaign on a statewide pause.
00:29:47.000 Amy Acton has proposed stricter conditions on new projects as well.
00:29:52.000 Brett Ryan, the economist at Deutsche Bank, says if some of these moratoriums or regulatory pressures slow some of this build out, it almost prevents you from blowing up too big of a bubble.
00:30:00.000 This is like a good excuse to kill some projects that were already looking shaky. 1.00
00:30:04.000 This is stupid. 1.00
00:30:06.000 This is very stupid. 1.00
00:30:07.000 The reason this is stupid is because this is not a forced market. 1.00
00:30:10.000 This is not a market correction. 0.99
00:30:11.000 Okay, so let's say that there was an overbuild.
00:30:13.000 Let's say that people built too many data centers.
00:30:15.000 And then the companies that did that suffer the consequences of that.
00:30:19.000 All right, that's how markets work.
00:30:21.000 And then there will be a natural adjustment in the market and fewer data centers will be built.
00:30:25.000 When you force A destruction of data center projects.
00:30:29.000 What you are doing is limiting the supply, which limits the build out, not just of the data centers, but all the things that are built on the data centers, all the platforms, all the new tech.
00:30:41.000 Again, there's a difference between a company overproducing ice cream and you telling a company it is not allowed to produce the ice cream.
00:30:52.000 And you telling the company it's not allowed to produce an ice cream is a violation of basic property rights.
00:30:57.000 Again, whatever you think of AI, if AI is powering our growth right now, its dip does affect you.
00:31:04.000 Your 401k undoubtedly owns AI stock.
00:31:08.000 AI companies buy products and services from other companies.
00:31:11.000 The index fund includes AI.
00:31:15.000 These are all just realities.
00:31:18.000 And again, Democrats, they're going to go full bore against this because populist economics suggest that if you don't understand it, you ought to ban it.
00:31:24.000 So here is Texas Governor Gina Hinojosa.
00:31:30.000 I would issue a moratorium on any new data centers until the legislature can pass laws to protect Texans.
00:31:38.000 Everything from water to electricity, jobs, all of it, right?
00:31:42.000 Making sure we have guardrails when it comes to AI.
00:31:45.000 This is what AI is for.
00:31:46.000 This is what it is not for.
00:31:49.000 Okay, they don't know what they're talking about on any of this.
00:31:52.000 They're not attempting to restrict the abuses of AI, they're attempting to kill the Golden Goose.
00:31:56.000 That's what this is. 0.95
00:31:57.000 Bernie Sanders, again, the Chinese are doing active symposia with Bernie Sanders because the Chinese wish to win.
00:32:04.000 We are not the only players on planet Earth.
00:32:05.000 And guess what happens?
00:32:06.000 If we don't do this sort of building, other places will.
00:32:10.000 They will.
00:32:11.000 Maybe it'll be built in space if we're lucky.
00:32:14.000 And that's what they're talking about.
00:32:15.000 That's what Elon is talking about.
00:32:17.000 But if it's not, then it'll be built wherever else it can be built.
00:32:22.000 So here's Bernie Sanders with his economic populism drawn straight from the annals of the Soviet Union in Cuba.
00:32:30.000 Democrats must enact a national moratorium on AI data centers, must pause advanced AI development, and ban super intelligence.
00:32:42.000 And By the way, I might mention that yesterday in the election, in dozens of communities throughout our country, citizens voted for a moratorium on the construction of data centers.
00:32:57.000 In other words, a moratorium on data centers is exactly what the American people want. 0.97
00:33:05.000 This is foolish.
00:33:06.000 Again, we can do it, we are going to do it, and then we'll find out, you know, whether it was a great idea or not. 0.98
00:33:12.000 Now, there are some people on the right.
00:33:14.000 Who are arguing for similar big tech restrictions?
00:33:16.000 Ron DeSantis, who I love.
00:33:17.000 I mean, he's the governor of my state.
00:33:19.000 I moved here in part because Governor DeSantis is so good at his job.
00:33:22.000 He's on with Stephen A. Smith.
00:33:24.000 And here he was arguing for big tech restrictions from the GOP.
00:33:27.000 I agree with some of this argument.
00:33:31.000 I don't think a tech company should be able to just hotline a hyperscale data center into a community that doesn't want it.
00:33:37.000 And I certainly don't think you should have to pay higher electricity rates for that.
00:33:42.000 So we're in a situation where. 0.98
00:33:45.000 I embrace technology that enhances the human experience, but I don't want to empower transhumanists who want technology to supplant the human experience.
00:33:55.000 And some of these people in Silicon Valley, you ask them, hey, would it be better if machines just emplaced the human race entirely? 0.86
00:34:02.000 And they'll be like, well, they can't answer the question.
00:34:05.000 No, it's an easy answer.
00:34:06.000 That would not be a good thing.
00:34:08.000 So if technology is enhancing our ability to get jobs, start businesses, earn income, communicate, great.
00:34:15.000 I'm all for it.
00:34:16.000 National defense.
00:34:18.000 But if it's just trying to replace Americans, if it's saying, oh, yeah, you're all just going to be on a universal basic income and you're going to get a check.
00:34:26.000 So I think we need to bring some more balance to the Republican view of how you handle big tech.
00:34:32.000 And here's.
00:34:34.000 Okay, but there are a couple of things he's conflating here.
00:34:36.000 So he says, I don't want this technology to harm humans.
00:34:40.000 I don't want it to replace humans.
00:34:42.000 Okay, but every technological change in human history has come with a replacement of jobs.
00:34:47.000 This is just a reality.
00:34:48.000 It happened in the information revolution, it happened with the industrial revolution.
00:34:52.000 That's just a constant of human history.
00:34:53.000 So, unless he has a way to determine which jobs ought to be protected and which ones ought not, or why should another way of explaining that is which things ought to be expensive and which things ought to be cheap.
00:35:01.000 Technology makes things cheap.
00:35:03.000 Then I don't trust politicians to make that sort of centralized decision.
00:35:07.000 I don't.
00:35:08.000 I think there are things that we should restrict about AI.
00:35:09.000 Again, if you want a human teaching your kid not AI, I totally get it and I agree.
00:35:15.000 If what you're arguing is that the AI bros are programming the AIs in ways that are counter America's interests, and they're programming them with woke nonsense.
00:35:26.000 And now you want to restrict that.
00:35:27.000 Although I think competition will probably take care of that.
00:35:30.000 We can have that argument.
00:35:32.000 But if the idea is that we can sit and pick and choose which jobs are sacrosanct and which jobs are not sacrosanct, and so we're going to end up pulling the plug, that will be the natural consequence.
00:35:40.000 That is wrong.
00:35:41.000 Now, there is a counter argument to everything that all these people are arguing, including the governor. 0.94
00:35:46.000 And that counter argument is if we don't do it, China will. 1.00
00:35:49.000 That is true. 1.00
00:35:50.000 That is true.
00:35:51.000 But Governor DeSantis says it's not true.
00:35:55.000 One of the things they'll say with the tech stuff is oh, well, we've got to beat China.
00:35:59.000 We've got to beat China.
00:36:00.000 Now, look, I'm a China hawk.
00:36:01.000 Like, I think the CCP's a threat.
00:36:04.000 But you have some of these big companies like Oracle.
00:36:06.000 They built the biggest data center in Asia and Singapore for the Chinese AI stuff.
00:36:11.000 I mean, Nvidia, they want to sell chips to China.
00:36:14.000 So, like, Silicon Valley is not trying to beat China.
00:36:17.000 They're trying to join them.
00:36:18.000 Silicon Valley is trying to make money.
00:36:20.000 And honestly, I don't blame them because they have fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders, if they're a public company, especially to maximize value.
00:36:27.000 So, don't tell me that's the reason.
00:36:29.000 So, I just think we need some balance.
00:36:33.000 Well, I mean, again, I don't think that you have to take the tech bros.
00:36:38.000 As the indicator of whether China is trying to beat us.
00:36:39.000 This is sort of like saying that because there are companies that would want to sell missile technology to the Chinese, therefore the Chinese are not trying to develop superior missile technology.
00:36:48.000 That doesn't follow at all.
00:36:49.000 Yes, the Chinese wish to outcompete us. 0.99
00:36:51.000 Yes, if we destroy our own forward capacity with regard to AI, they will outcompete us. 0.82
00:36:56.000 And again, that's how markets work.
00:36:58.000 That is how markets work.
00:37:00.000 And so you can either work for an American company or you can work for a Chinese company.
00:37:04.000 I mean, that is the way that economics work, they will always work.
00:37:07.000 Those are the rules of the road.
00:37:08.000 No matter how much you Fight them, they will always win.
00:37:11.000 What an amazing video you just watched!

00:37:40.000 They take me out of my bed and they brought me here and they tell me nothing.
00:37:45.000 What have I done?
00:37:46.000 Article 58 counter-revolutionary activity.
00:37:49.000 That is all I know.
00:37:51.000 They have to deal with so many enemies of the state, all of whom claim their innocence, who protest, who cry.
00:38:06.000 There are no answers here other than the ones they put in your mouth.
00:38:11.000 You'll break.
00:38:14.000 Today is your opportunity to demonstrate your loyalty to the people.
00:38:22.000 I'd like to know why I'm here.

00:38:33.000 You will remember your duty.
00:38:35.000 I've told you I know nothing.
00:38:37.000 Leave ground like a feral animal. 1.00
00:38:40.000 You stink of failure. 0.99
00:38:42.000 You want me to lie? 1.00
00:38:43.000 Still a drunk. 1.00
00:38:45.000 Damn you! 1.00
