00:00:00.000 A huge day in news.
00:00:01.000 President Trump making a very gutsy call on Israel and Jerusalem.
00:00:05.000 Al Franken finally looks like he's on his way out the door.
00:00:08.000 And serious controversy still brewing over Roy Moore in Alabama with Steve Bannon, the ex-Gribble, getting involved.
00:00:14.000 I'll explain.
00:00:15.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:00:15.000 This is The Ben Shapiro Show.
00:00:21.000 So as always of late, the news is just coming out of the firehose.
00:00:25.000 And there is almost no way to imbibe enough of it to really stay abreast of it.
00:00:29.000 There's so much news breaking so quickly.
00:00:30.000 President Trump about to make a major announcement on Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
00:00:34.000 Long overdue, at least decades overdue.
00:00:37.000 So that's a great thing.
00:00:38.000 Plus, Al Franken on his way out.
00:00:40.000 I will explain why that's happening.
00:00:41.000 Did Democrats suddenly discover principle?
00:00:43.000 Not really.
00:00:43.000 But does that accuse Republicans for having abandoned principle?
00:00:46.000 Not really.
00:00:47.000 And speaking of that, we'll talk about Roy Moore and the latest from down south.
00:00:50.000 But first I want to say thank you to our sponsors over at Helix Sleep.
00:00:53.000 So as I have said many times, I am not good at sleep.
00:00:55.000 Great at lots of things, not good at sleep.
00:00:57.000 Or at least I wasn't until I got a Helix Sleep mattress.
00:01:00.000 The way it works over at Helix Sleep is they actually customize a mattress for you.
00:01:02.000 You go over to their website at helixsleep.com slash ben and you take a quiz and it gives you a profile.
00:01:08.000 How much do you weigh?
00:01:10.000 What's your body shape?
00:01:11.000 Do you like to sleep on your side or your back?
00:01:12.000 Do you like to sleep on your stomach?
00:01:13.000 Do you want the mattress to be breathable or firm?
00:01:16.000 All the different settings.
00:01:17.000 And then they send it to you in the mail.
00:01:18.000 You open the box.
00:01:20.000 It's a foam mattress when you unwrap it.
00:01:21.000 It just inflates right in front of you and it's ready to go.
00:01:23.000 It's such a nice mattress that we took a much more expensive mattress from our room and we actually put it in the other room so that we could use our Helix Sleep mattress.
00:01:29.000 My wife absolutely adores this mattress.
00:01:32.000 Everyone who tries it likes it.
00:01:34.000 And here's the good news.
00:01:36.000 Well, you don't lose anything, because you can try it for 100 nights, and if you don't love it, they will pick it up and refund you in full.
00:01:41.000 The mattress arrives direct to your door in a week.
00:01:43.000 Shipping is completely free.
00:01:44.000 Go to HelixSleep.com slash Ben right now.
00:01:47.000 HelixSleep.com slash Ben.
00:01:48.000 They'll get 50 bucks toward your custom mattress at HelixSleep.com slash Ben for 50 bucks off your order.
00:01:54.000 Again, HelixSleep.com slash Ben.
00:01:55.000 And it's less expensive than other mattresses because you're getting it online anyway, so it's pretty great.
00:02:00.000 So you get 50 bucks off.
00:02:01.000 Again, HelixSleep.com slash Ben for 50 bucks off.
00:02:05.000 Okay, so we begin with President Trump making a major announcement.
00:02:10.000 It's supposed to happen in about 45 minutes here.
00:02:12.000 It's supposed to happen at 10 a.m.
00:02:14.000 and that is an amazing thing.
00:02:16.000 He's supposed to, the rumor is, not just announce that the United States' view now officially is that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Israel, but also that he's going to move the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
00:02:27.000 This is a great and brave thing to do, and I'm going to give you a multiplicity of reasons why this is a great and brave thing to do by President Trump.
00:02:34.000 And not something, frankly, that I expected from President Trump.
00:02:37.000 Maybe the statement about Jerusalem being Israel's capital, because lots of presidents have said similar stuff, but not the statement about moving the embassy.
00:02:44.000 Because that's always been politically dicey.
00:02:46.000 So the law is, and it has been since 1995, Congress passed a law, and they passed it overwhelmingly, that said that Israel's capital was Jerusalem and that it should remain undivided.
00:02:56.000 That law was passed 93 to 5 in the Senate and 374 to 37 in the House in 1995.
00:02:59.000 For years, the President has been waiving that law.
00:03:04.000 Bush did it.
00:03:05.000 Clinton did it.
00:03:06.000 Obama did it.
00:03:07.000 None of them would actually build the embassy because they supposedly didn't want to undercut the peace process, but really what it was about is they wanted to cater to and surrender to the whims of the Palestinian Authority, a terrorist group, as well as other Muslim nations that were propping up that terrorist group.
00:03:22.000 This was stupid policy.
00:03:23.000 So, let's begin with the facts, okay?
00:03:25.000 Jerusalem is, was, and will be the eternal capital of Israel.
00:03:28.000 Jerusalem is only important.
00:03:29.000 The only reason you've heard of it, the only reason anyone cares about it, is because the Jews made it important.
00:03:34.000 Okay, that is literally the only reason.
00:03:36.000 Otherwise, it's just another city in the Middle East.
00:03:38.000 It was both the capital of the Kingdom of Israel and the site of the Temple.
00:03:41.000 It was the wellspring of Judaic thought for literally millennia.
00:03:45.000 Okay, when I pray three times a day, Jerusalem is mentioned frequently in those prayers.
00:03:49.000 Both Christianity and Islam value Jerusalem because Judaism did first.
00:03:52.000 The dream of Jerusalem has animated the Jewish people for its entire existence, the most famous case being in Psalms 137 where it says, If I forget the Jerusalem, may my right hand forget its skill.
00:04:02.000 Jerusalem is mentioned literally hundreds of times in what we call Tanakh, that'd be the Old Testament, so that includes the Torah, as well as the prophets and the writings.
00:04:09.000 The only reason that it's not mentioned specifically in the five books of Moses is because at that time it was actually two cities, one called Yeru and the other called Shalem, and then it was put together into Yerushalayim, right?
00:04:17.000 It became one city, sort of like Buddha and Pesht became Budapest.
00:04:20.000 In any case...
00:04:22.000 It's always been the center of Judaic thinking.
00:04:24.000 It's always been the holiest spot in Judaism.
00:04:27.000 Jerusalem, by contrast, is not mentioned one single time anywhere in the Quran.
00:04:30.000 If Jews don't have a claim to Jerusalem, and this is the root of why Muslims want to declare that Jews don't have a claim.
00:04:35.000 Also, it's the root of why the papacy has been really split on Jerusalem.
00:04:40.000 There have been popes who have been pro the idea of Jewish sovereignty in Jerusalem, and then the current pope says that it should be internationalized, which is just insipid, because if you have Muslim rule over Jerusalem, that means nobody else gets to come in.
00:04:52.000 And again, Jewish sovereignty over a Jewish holy site seems like the basic notion is just moral, especially since Jews have maintained the holy sites of both Muslims and Christians in Jerusalem.
00:05:05.000 If Jews don't have a claim to Jerusalem, they don't have a claim to anything.
00:05:08.000 They have a claim to nothing.
00:05:09.000 If they don't have a claim to Jerusalem, there's no claim to Tel Aviv, there's no claim to Haifa, there's no claim to Jaffa.
00:05:14.000 Jaffa, there's no claim to Akko, there's no claim to any other city in Israel if you don't have a claim to Jerusalem.
00:05:19.000 Okay, that's fact number one.
00:05:20.000 And Trump is recognizing an established fact.
00:05:23.000 On the ground.
00:05:23.000 Number two.
00:05:24.000 As I say, Congress has long recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
00:05:27.000 Not just in 1995.
00:05:28.000 This year.
00:05:28.000 Because you're seeing a bunch of Senate Democrats now.
00:05:32.000 Oh, how dare Trump.
00:05:33.000 How terrible for President Trump to say this.
00:05:35.000 How could President Trump?
00:05:36.000 He's going to lead to a conflagration.
00:05:38.000 Well, that's not what you jerks were saying literally six months ago.
00:05:41.000 In June, there was a resolution that was passed on the floor of the Senate.
00:05:44.000 It was passed 90 to nothing.
00:05:47.000 Zero dissenting votes.
00:05:48.000 90 to nothing.
00:05:49.000 Third point.
00:05:50.000 Israel gets to negotiate on its own behalf.
00:05:52.000 It's not up to the United States or any other foreign nation to negotiate on Israel's behalf with regard to its own capital.
00:06:07.000 To understand how important this is, imagine that foreign bodies came in and told the United States that we had to give up Washington, D.C.
00:06:13.000 Now imagine that Washington, D.C.
00:06:14.000 wasn't just a city that was built on a swamp so that we didn't have to build it inside a state.
00:06:18.000 It had been divinely ordained by God for the American people.
00:06:21.000 That's how important Jerusalem is to the Jews.
00:06:23.000 It is the basis of all Judaic thought and all Judaic history.
00:06:27.000 And people who are saying they're going to force Israel into making these concessions, it's immoral.
00:06:32.000 Israel gets to make a call on its own.
00:06:34.000 Recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital will minimize violence.
00:06:37.000 You're hearing a lot of myths today from the left.
00:06:39.000 Oh, look at it.
00:06:40.000 Violence.
00:06:41.000 Terrorism is coming, first of all.
00:06:43.000 The Palestinian Authority is, was, and always will be a terrorist entity.
00:06:46.000 Hamas is, was, will be a terrorist entity.
00:06:48.000 Islamic Jihad is, was, will be a terrorist entity.
00:06:50.000 All of the people threatening violence today were anti-Semites yesterday, they will be anti-Semites tomorrow, they were terrorists yesterday, and they will be terrorists tomorrow.
00:06:58.000 If it's a day ending in Y, the Palestinian Authority is interested in murdering Jews in terror attacks.
00:07:02.000 The same is true, of course, of Hamas.
00:07:04.000 The idea that Jerusalem is the sticking point in negotiations is just not true.
00:07:08.000 One thing that will happen by recognizing Israel's sovereignty over Jerusalem is that the Palestinians may lose hope that they can pry Jerusalem from Israel by pressuring the United States or pressuring the West through terror attack.
00:07:19.000 Maybe they'll finally recognize reality and they'll recognize this is just not going to be part of the negotiations.
00:07:25.000 Fifth, the United States should not be bullied by terrorists, period, anywhere, all over the world.
00:07:29.000 The idea that the United States ever signed off on the Oslo Accords is ridiculous.
00:07:33.000 Israel never should have either.
00:07:34.000 The idea that you're going to be blackmailed by people, that they were going to say to you, you know, if you just give us land, then we'll stop murdering your children.
00:07:42.000 Blackmail used to be a violation of both domestic and international law.
00:07:46.000 Then it was made into the centerpiece of American foreign policy in the Middle East for 20 years and the centerpiece of Israel-Palestinian policy for 25 years.
00:07:54.000 It never worked.
00:07:55.000 Oslo is a full-scale disaster because it turns out the person who's trying to blackmail you wants the money.
00:08:00.000 Okay, they don't want to turn back over the degrading material.
00:08:04.000 If somebody steals the porn off your computer, and then they want to blackmail you because they have the porn on your computer, their goal is not to give you back the porn on your computer.
00:08:11.000 Their goal is to continue getting money out of you.
00:08:13.000 Okay, Oslo was always a blackmail deal.
00:08:16.000 Ending that blackmail deal is good for the United States.
00:08:18.000 It's not caving to terrorism.
00:08:20.000 Also, as I say, recognizing reality makes peace more possible.
00:08:23.000 So a big, underdeveloped piece of news that came out last week is that the Saudi monarchy reportedly summoned Palestinian leadership and told them to support a peace deal with the Israelis.
00:08:32.000 Not only that, that deal would retain major Israeli settlement blocks, prevent the establishment of a standing Palestinian army, and leave the PA without Jerusalem as a Palestinian capital.
00:08:40.000 In other words, the Saudis know about this already.
00:08:42.000 Everybody is claiming, oh, the Saudis are so mad.
00:08:44.000 The Saudis are not mad.
00:08:46.000 The Saudis knew about this.
00:08:47.000 They were paving the way about this.
00:08:48.000 Jared Kushner over at the White House, I'm sure, was talking to Saudi Arabia.
00:08:51.000 You know, two weeks ago, people were saying, he's kowtowing to the Saudis.
00:08:54.000 Now they're saying, he's stabbing the Saudis in the back.
00:08:56.000 Is it possible that maybe he was talking with the Saudis?
00:08:59.000 Is it possible that the new anti-Iranian alliance, Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Israel, that that alliance is strengthened by this status being clarified?
00:09:09.000 That we can finally get this issue off the table?
00:09:11.000 That now that this is clear, that the United States recognizes the truth that Jerusalem is Israel's capital, that Saudi Arabia and Jordan and Egypt are just going to have to accept it if they want this alliance against the Iranians?
00:09:23.000 As I say, this also means continuing the anti-Iranian alliance and forwarding the anti-Iranian alliance.
00:09:30.000 In 1991, during the Gulf War, George H.W.
00:09:32.000 Bush faced a choice.
00:09:33.000 Israel was hit by Scud missiles by Saddam Hussein.
00:09:35.000 And Israel wanted to join the coalition to topple Saddam Hussein.
00:09:38.000 Or at least to push Saddam Hussein out of Kuwait.
00:09:42.000 And H.W.
00:09:43.000 said to the Israelis, don't get involved because you'll fracture our coalition.
00:09:45.000 It was a bad move.
00:09:46.000 H.W.
00:09:46.000 should have said, sure, get involved.
00:09:48.000 And then he should have said to the Saudis, you don't like it?
00:09:50.000 Well then fine, deal with it yourself.
00:09:52.000 You don't like Israel being on your side?
00:09:54.000 That's your problem.
00:09:55.000 He could have forced a peace through mutual assurance.
00:09:58.000 He could have forced a peace through mutual recognition of common interests, and that's exactly what's happening in the aftermath of Iran.
00:10:05.000 Okay, so I wanted to lay out all of those reasons to show you that what Trump is doing here is not just moral, it is also smart.
00:10:12.000 Also want to point out here that all of the talk about how this recognition is going to cause violence, violence in Jerusalem has long predated any of these negotiations.
00:10:21.000 I'm gonna give you a brief history of Jerusalem here, so you have more information today than you did yesterday, okay?
00:10:26.000 In 1929, before there was an Israel, before there was Jewish sovereignty over Jerusalem, before there was Arab sovereignty over Jerusalem, it was British Mandate Palestine, right?
00:10:33.000 It was the British running Jerusalem, and there were riots in Jerusalem.
00:10:36.000 By Arabs, against Jews, 17 people were killed.
00:10:39.000 Why?
00:10:40.000 Because Jews had the temerity to bring chairs to the Wailing Wall, to the Western Wall, the second holiest site in Judaism.
00:10:45.000 The holiest site in Judaism is the Temple Mount.
00:10:47.000 Jews are still not allowed up on the Temple Mount because the Dome of the Rock is up there and the Muslims run it.
00:10:52.000 So Jews will allow Muslims into Jewish areas, but Muslims will never allow Jews into Jewish areas, which is why Jews should run the place and not Muslims.
00:11:00.000 But in 1929, before any of this was an issue, before any of it existed, at that time, the Jews just wanted to bring chairs for the elderly and infirm to the Western Wall.
00:11:09.000 So Arabs rioted and killed 17 people.
00:11:11.000 Then they rioted in Hebron and they killed 60 more Jews.
00:11:15.000 There's a report from the British.
00:11:16.000 Here's what it described.
00:11:17.000 Okay, fast forward to 1948.
00:11:18.000 So Israel accepts the deal, the partition deal, from the UN.
00:11:20.000 The UN was going to partition Jerusalem.
00:11:21.000 It was going to divide Jerusalem.
00:11:38.000 Instead, the Arabs blockaded Jerusalem, cut off all the roads, and tried to basically put the Jews in Jerusalem, the largest, most Jewish city in Israel, under siege.
00:11:46.000 The Israelis, at the cost of thousands of lives, finally broke through, but East Jerusalem remained in Arab hands, in Muslim hands.
00:11:53.000 And not only that, so did the Western Wall, so did the Temple Mount.
00:11:55.000 So, was everything peaceful?
00:11:57.000 Was everything fine when the Arabs were running it?
00:11:59.000 The answer was no, of course, because in 1964, while the Arabs were still running East Jerusalem and Jordan had sovereignty over East Jerusalem, the Palestine Liberation Organization was formed.
00:12:08.000 That would later become the Palestinian Authority.
00:12:10.000 That was Yasser Arafat's group.
00:12:12.000 In 1964, their stated goal?
00:12:13.000 The full destruction of the State of Israel from the river to the sea, Palestine shall be free.
00:12:17.000 That was their slogan.
00:12:19.000 Okay, that was while they were running Jerusalem.
00:12:21.000 So anyone who says that Jerusalem is the sticking point, Jerusalem is not the sticking point.
00:12:25.000 In 1967, Israel finally takes over East Jerusalem and frees East Jerusalem.
00:12:29.000 By the way, when I say freeze, I mean that the Arab parts of East Jerusalem are still run like an Arab dictatorship, even though Israel has sovereignty.
00:12:35.000 When I visited Israel in 2001,
00:12:38.000 This is the middle of 2nd Intifada.
00:12:40.000 When we came out in East Jerusalem, I had to be guarded by Israeli soldiers.
00:12:44.000 If you're a Jew walking through East Jerusalem, Arab East Jerusalem, your life is in danger.
00:12:48.000 If you're an Arab, a Muslim, walking through West Jerusalem, no problems at all.
00:12:53.000 Because that's the way tyranny versus democracy works.
00:12:56.000 By the way, Israel handed back control of the Temple Mount to the Islamic Waqf, which is a huge miscalculation.
00:13:01.000 Jews are still not allowed to pray on the Temple Mount.
00:13:03.000 If I went there and tried to pray, I'd be arrested.
00:13:05.000 In 1993, Israel agreed to negotiate with the terrorist Palestinian Authority, including over Jerusalem.
00:13:10.000 What happened?
00:13:11.000 Massive uptick in terror.
00:13:12.000 In 2000, at the Camp David Summit,
00:13:14.000 Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak of the Israeli Labor Party offered Palestinian terrorist Yasser Arafat control over East Jerusalem and the Temple Mount itself, according to Bill Clinton.
00:13:24.000 Arafat didn't even submit a counteroffer.
00:13:25.000 He left the table and he started the second intifada, resulting in the murder of over 700 Jews.
00:13:30.000 I was in Israel when the Sparrow Pizzeria was bombed, and I remember walking past the ruins of the pizzeria in the center of Jerusalem.
00:13:35.000 All of that after Israel had offered East Jerusalem to the Palestinians.
00:13:39.000 In 2008, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert offered a new Palestinian terrorist dictator, Mahmoud Abbas, international control of Jerusalem's Old City, which would include the Holy Sites.
00:13:49.000 Not only that, he also offered some of Israeli land to make up for the Israeli settlements that had been built, and an Israeli land strip that would connect the Gaza Strip to Judea and Samaria.
00:13:58.000 Abbas turned it down without a counteroffer, and then launched another round of violence in coordination with Hamas in Gaza.
00:14:04.000 So all of this talk about how it's just Jerusalem, that if we were to solidify the status of Jerusalem, this would cause violence.
00:14:10.000 No, Jerusalem is an excuse for violence, and if Jerusalem were in Arab hands, there would still be violence, because there was when it was in Arab hands.
00:14:16.000 Okay, so now you have all the background that you need on this particular topic.
00:14:20.000 So don't believe any of the mythology.
00:14:21.000 Trump is making a moral move, and a politically smart move, and a politically valuable move for American policy in the Middle East.
00:14:27.000 Okay, so now I want to move to another topic.
00:14:30.000 That topic, of course, is Democrats.
00:14:32.000 So Democrats have now decided that Al Franken has to go.
00:14:36.000 It's actually kind of an amazing thing, right?
00:14:37.000 They're now saying that seven senators, I believe, have come out in the last hour and said that Al Franken needs to go.
00:14:42.000 Why?
00:14:42.000 Because there was a new allegation
00:14:45.000 With regard to Al Franken, there was an aide who said that he tried to force himself on her.
00:14:50.000 They tried to kiss her.
00:14:51.000 And then when she refused, then he said, I'm an entertainer and I'm owed this.
00:14:56.000 He denies this allegation.
00:14:57.000 Doesn't matter.
00:14:57.000 Democrats have decided to throw him under the bus.
00:14:59.000 They're mostly throwing him under the bus because they want to push Republicans into a corner with regard to Roy Moore.
00:15:03.000 They want to say, we have the moral high ground.
00:15:05.000 You guys are backing Roy Moore still.
00:15:07.000 You don't have the moral high ground.
00:15:08.000 Are Democrats really being honest about this?
00:15:12.000 Are Democrats really, do they really care that Al Franken sexually abuses people?
00:15:15.000 Not really.
00:15:16.000 Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, like two seconds ago, was saying that he didn't have to resign.
00:15:20.000 I'll show you in just a second.
00:15:22.000 First, I want to say thank you to our sponsors over at Stamps.com.

00:16:17.000 That's stamps.com, Shapiro, and you get, again, that four-week trial, plus postage, and a digital scale, no long-term commitments.
00:16:23.000 Go check it out and save yourself some time.
00:16:24.000 So, Kirsten Gillibrand today says Al Franken has to go.
00:16:27.000 The senator has to leave.
00:16:29.000 That's not what she was saying literally yesterday.
00:16:30.000 Here she was talking yesterday.
00:16:32.000 I believe the women.
00:16:33.000 I believe that what they said happened, happened.
00:16:37.000 And I think there is a reckoning and I think there needs to be accountability and it needs to happen now.
00:16:42.000 Is that a yes?
00:16:44.000 I'm telling you, I am so angry and frustrated and I'm not going to say that today.
00:16:50.000 Okay.
00:16:52.000 But it is something that I'm very troubled about.
00:16:55.000 Okay, so now, of course, she says that Franken should step down.
00:16:58.000 So yesterday, yeah, on the Franken stepping down.
00:17:01.000 Now, of course, she wants Franken gone.
00:17:03.000 And this, of course, is because she and other Democrats are trying to seize the moral high ground with regard to Roy Moore.
00:17:08.000 They're saying Republicans will back anybody up to and including an alleged child molester, but we won't support Al Franken.
00:17:14.000 They waited, you'll notice, until two days or the day after the RNC jumped back in on the Roy Moore issue.
00:17:20.000 They waited until the day after, and then they say, okay, we'll dump Franken over the side.
00:17:24.000 So this is a politically motivated—it doesn't mean it's wrong.
00:17:25.000 It doesn't mean it's immoral.
00:17:27.000 But it is politically motivated, and to ignore that is just foolish.
00:17:30.000 You can see how politically motivated it is when you look at
00:17:34.000 When you look at another topic, right?
00:17:35.000 And that topic, of course, is John Conyers.
00:17:37.000 So John Conyers said yesterday that he was going to retire.
00:17:40.000 He said he was retiring effective immediately.
00:17:42.000 And then he recommended that his son take over for him.
00:17:45.000 So here's John Conyers.
00:17:46.000 For the record, for those who may not have understood or heard what you said, is that you're very confident in your legacy.
00:17:54.000 You are today, at this time, at this moment, in this period, preparing for your retirement, a date in which you are not prepared to announce.
00:18:04.000 Yes, I thank you for helping me get this into focus, putting my retirement plans together, and I will have more about that very soon.
00:18:16.000 And I want everyone to know how much I appreciate the support, the undiminished support I've received across the years.
00:18:36.000 But he also says that he wants his son to fill in for him.
00:18:39.000 So let me tell you a little bit about his son.
00:18:41.000 This just shows you the political fiefdoms that exist.
00:18:44.000 So when Democrats say, oh, we're punishing Conyers, or we're punishing Franken, listen, again, it's moral that these guys should go.
00:18:49.000 I don't think Roy Moore should sit in the Senate.
00:18:51.000 This is not a matter of, I'm using this as whataboutism.
00:18:55.000 I think Moore should go, I think Franken should go, I think Conyers should go.
00:18:58.000 But you do have to recognize the political motivations that are at play here.
00:19:01.000 John Conyers is leaving, but he's leaving his son in charge, okay?
00:19:03.000 Or he wants to.
00:19:04.000 His son is John Conyers III.
00:19:06.000 John Conyers III is a 27-year-old guy who has literally done nothing.
00:19:11.000 Like, I literally don't know what he does for a living.
00:19:12.000 No one knows what he does for a living.
00:19:14.000 Also, he came out, he's a big defender of his dad, saying that his dad, originally he said that his father was completely clean.
00:19:20.000 He said, it's unfortunate to see him fight so long for so many people and to automatically have the allegations assumed to be true.
00:19:25.000 Unfortunately, there's also this tape of John Conyers III, who will be your new congressperson from the city of Detroit, rapping about how his father was a player.
00:19:32.000 Isn't that cultural appropriation, him wearing that hat?
00:19:34.000 In any case, John Conyers III, your new congressperson, and this just shows you that politics for so many Americans has become a fiefdom.
00:19:58.000 It's not a punishment for John Conyers to step down, Henry II to step down, and hand his crown over to his son Richard the Lionheart.
00:20:05.000 That's not actually a thing.
00:20:07.000 And what I love about this is that there's actually an internecine battle that's happening right now.
00:20:11.000 So Conyers III wants to take over the seat, but so does John Conyers' grandnephew.
00:20:17.000 So Conyers III wants to fight his own nephew for the seat.
00:20:22.000 I assume that, given the way that history works, John Conyers III will eventually take his nephew, throw him in the Tower of London, and have him killed, a la Richard III.
00:20:29.000 But that's the way these fiefdoms work.
00:20:31.000 John Conyers sat in the House for years because there's this tendency to believe, and it's very disturbing, there's this tendency to believe
00:20:41.000 that our politicians are not our representatives.
00:20:43.000 They don't represent us.
00:20:44.000 They're our lords and ladies of the manor.
00:20:46.000 They have their own fiefdoms.
00:20:47.000 John Conyers has his own fiefdom.
00:20:50.000 In 2006, he was investigated by the House for telling three staffers to basically be his personal servants and babysitters and then forcing them to work on state and local campaigns.
00:21:01.000 He won 85% of the vote in his district that year.
00:21:05.000 A couple of years later, his wife, Queen Monica, King Conyers and Queen Monica, she served on the Detroit City Council.
00:21:13.000 And she was convicted of bribery.
00:21:15.000 She spent three years in jail.
00:21:17.000 Conyers himself was involved in this.
00:21:19.000 He reversed his position on the project that she was bribed to get through.
00:21:23.000 Conyers won 77% of the vote in that election cycle.
00:21:27.000 And now he's turning over his seat.
00:21:29.000 to his son.
00:21:31.000 So this is how we think of our politicians.
00:21:33.000 They don't represent us, so we don't have to worry about whether they provide a good face for our politics.
00:21:39.000 All they do is what we want them to do.
00:21:41.000 And as long as they protect us, as long as they protect us from invading nobles,
00:21:45.000 Then we are happy to pay them an extra share of our harvest.
00:21:48.000 That's basically the way we see people like John Conyers, and this holds true on both sides of the aisle.
00:21:52.000 This is why I think that so many people seem untroubled by all the Roy Moore stuff.
00:21:56.000 They've decided in their heads that Roy Moore is a fine guy, not because they actually think he's a fine guy, but they feel like, well, he's the lord of the manor.
00:22:04.000 So, you know, he was taking his droid to Signore with a bunch of 16-year-old girls.
00:22:09.000 But, you know, so long as he protects my values, so long as he protects what I want, is that really a big deal?
00:22:14.000 Democrats, as I say, are using this logic in order to tear down Republicans, and they're doing it quite successfully.
00:22:20.000 Republicans, by the way, are tearing themselves down pretty successfully on this one.
00:22:24.000 They took the worst possible position.
00:22:25.000 They abandoned Moore, and then they rushed back to Moore just in time for this election cycle after Trump endorsed him.
00:22:31.000 And in doing so, they re-embraced all of the worst things about Roy Moore.
00:22:35.000 And so you can see the Democrats are trying to run a We Are the Great Clean Party campaign.
00:22:40.000 This is their new thing.
00:22:40.000 I'll show you that in a second.
00:22:42.000 And I'll show you why the Republicans are running right into the teeth of it, and it's going to cause them serious political harm.
00:22:47.000 First, I want to say thank you to our sponsors over at Skillshare.
00:22:49.000 So Skillshare!
00:22:51.000 I'm good to go.
00:23:14.000 It's perfect if you're looking to build your career or start the side hustle of your dreams.
00:23:19.000 I've taken both their watercolor class, which has deepened my emotions and also made me a better painter, but more importantly, I've been taking their social media marketing and SEO classes, which has helped us out over here at Daily Wire.
00:23:29.000 Skillshare is giving my listeners a one-month free trial of unlimited access to over 17,000 classes.
00:23:33.000 Go to Skillshare.com slash Shapiro
00:23:36.000 Let's do it!
00:23:55.000 So Doug Jones is jumping on the We Are Clean bandwagon.
00:23:58.000 This is his campaign now.
00:23:59.000 It's his entire campaign, because he can't win based on his politics.
00:24:02.000 He's a Democrat in a state that's 66% Republican.
00:24:05.000 Here is Doug Jones, the Democratic candidate in Alabama.
00:24:07.000 I believe women are every bit as capable as men, that they deserve to be elected to public office.
00:24:17.000 I believe they deserve equal pay for equal work, and I damn sure believe that I have done my part to ensure that men who hurt little girls should go to jail and not the United States Senate.
00:24:33.000 Okay, so this is gonna be his campaign.
00:24:34.000 In order for them to make this campaign credible, they had to get rid of Franken.
00:24:37.000 It appears that's now their move, to get rid of Franken in the days leading up to Moore.
00:24:40.000 And then if the Republicans elect Moore, they say, well, that's because Republicans are sleazebags.
00:24:44.000 Unfortunately, Republicans are falling right into the teeth of this by actually being sleazebags, so that's not helpful.
00:24:50.000 And by sleazebags, I don't mean people who are going to vote for Moore.
00:24:52.000 As I've said, I think there are a lot of people voting for Moore because they think he's the second worst choice.
00:24:56.000 I think there are a lot of people voting for Moore because they think he'll be expelled in the Senate.
00:24:59.000 But if you are saying that Roy Moore is an honorable, decent human being in the aftermath of these allegations,
00:25:06.000 All I would say is that there's not a lot of evidence to prove any of that.
00:25:11.000 There's not a lot of evidence.
00:25:12.000 Now, this is leading some Republicans to immediately virtue-signal to the furthest possible extent.
00:25:16.000 Jeff Flake is one of those.
00:25:17.000 Jeff Flake, of course, is the Republican senator from Arizona.
00:25:20.000 Yesterday, he tweeted out, country over party.
00:25:23.000 And he got what he wanted, 1,171,000 likes on this tweet.
00:25:27.000 And it says, Doug Jones for USN.
00:25:28.000 He tweeted out a picture of a check he sent to Doug Jones, $100.
00:25:30.000 And it said, country over party in the subject line.
00:25:33.000 And then he signed it, Jeff Flake.
00:25:36.000 You don't have to give money to the Democrat in order to oppose everyone.
00:25:39.000 I oppose Doug Jones's policies.
00:25:40.000 I oppose Roy Moore.
00:25:42.000 I've said stay home or write somebody in.
00:25:44.000 Don't vote for Roy Moore.
00:25:45.000 But Republicans feel the necessity in order to alleviate their own sense of cognitive dissonance and guilt, as I mentioned yesterday, they feel the necessity to fully embrace Roy Moore.
00:25:55.000 And leading the way is the avatar of Republican Satanism.
00:25:59.000 That, of course, is Steve Bannon.
00:26:01.000 As I've said before, I know Steve really well.
00:26:02.000 I try not to talk about Steve because I know Steve really well.
00:26:05.000 And I think Steve is one of the worst people I have ever met.
00:26:08.000 And Steve is making that clear in Alabama.
00:26:11.000 So he's doing this whole, I'm a populist shtick.
00:26:13.000 Okay, Steve is a Goldman Sachs guy.
00:26:15.000 Okay, he's a Goldman Sachs guy, went to Harvard Business School.
00:26:18.000 So, that's your courageous Steve Bannon.
00:26:19.000 But Bannon didn't just stop there.
00:26:20.000 Yesterday, at a rally, he decided to slam Mitt Romney.
00:26:22.000 So, as we discussed yesterday, Mitt Romney may be one of the most honorable people ever to run for President of the United States.
00:26:44.000 Romney came out and said, you shouldn't back Moore.
00:26:46.000 Moore's an alleged child molester, a credibly alleged child molester.
00:26:49.000 Steve Bannon took the opportunity to bash Mitt Romney and say that Roy Moore is a better human than Mitt Romney.
00:26:56.000 Right, a guy who was trolling food courts, allegedly, for 15-year-olds when he was 33.
00:27:00.000 He's a better person than Mitt Romney, a guy who's been married to his high school sweetheart, has led the cleanest life of anyone imaginable in the history of American politics, and that guy's a bad guy because we have to back Roy Moore.
00:27:11.000 This is why I say that
00:27:12.000 Bannon is just an avatar.
00:27:13.000 He's like in the image, in the cartoon, you know, where you have the cartoon character and you have the devil on one shoulder and the angel on the other.
00:27:21.000 I'm not sure who the angel on the shoulder is for Republicans, but I know who the devil on the shoulder is, and that guy's Steve Bannon.
00:27:26.000 So the devil on the shoulder, Steve Bannon, starts ripping into Mitt Romney while dressed like a derelict homeless person who just got his clothes from the Salvation Army, talking about how Roy Moore is a quality human being as opposed to Romney, who's a leech, a Mormon leech.
00:27:39.000 That's basically what he says.
00:27:42.000 Served his country in one of the toughest wars we've ever had.
00:27:47.000 Vietnam.
00:27:49.000 Mitt, that's honor and integrity.
00:27:51.000 We ran for Commander Cheek had five sons, not one day of service in Afghanistan and Iraq.
00:27:58.000 We have 7,000 dead and 52,000 casualties.
00:28:02.000 And where were the Romneys during those wars?
00:28:07.000 Okay, so there's Bannon doing his Man of the People shtick.
00:28:10.000 The Romney sons didn't serve in Iraq.
00:28:11.000 We'll play more of it in a second.
00:28:13.000 The Romney sons didn't serve in Iraq.
00:28:14.000 Okay, if we're gonna hold the, if this is the standard for honor and integrity, you know who else didn't serve in Iraq?
00:28:18.000 Any of Trump's sons.
00:28:19.000 You know who didn't serve in Vietnam?
00:28:20.000 Trump.
00:28:21.000 If we're gonna go down this road, Romney got a deferment because he was Mormon, so he went on mission.
00:28:25.000 And his sons went on mission, too.
00:28:27.000 The idea that you have to serve in the military in order to be honorable, if that's the case, Donald Trump had five separate deferments from Vietnam, including four for college and one for bad feet.
00:28:37.000 But I don't see Bannon ripping on him that way.
00:28:40.000 I seem to recall Bannon being totally fine with Trump smacking around John McCain on his war service.
00:28:46.000 I don't remember Bannon being particularly upset about that.
00:28:48.000 But then it gets even worse.
00:28:49.000 Then Bannon decides to say that Moore has more honor than the entire Romney family.
00:29:16.000 First of all, Bannon is just a terrible speaker, but beyond that, what he said there, it's hard to hear, is that Roy Moore has more honor and integrity in his little finger than Mitt Romney's family has in their entire DNA.
00:29:29.000 Just gross.
00:29:31.000 Just gross.
00:29:32.000 I'll tell you one thing Mitt Romney has not been credibly accused of.
00:29:34.000 Taking a 14-year-old girl home and trying to get him inside her panties.
00:29:39.000 That's something that Mitt Romney has never been credibly accused of.
00:29:42.000 Or taking a 16-year-old girl into his car when he was in his 30s and attempting to grope her breasts and grab her by the genitals.
00:29:48.000 But this is, you know, if the Republicans want to embrace the dark side, there's no better way to do this than that.
00:29:54.000 So as I say, it is a Democratic manipulation for them to suggest that they are clean in all of this, but they are grabbing the moral high ground because it's almost impossible for them to grab the moral low ground away from a Republican party that is doing the Bannon routine.
00:30:05.000 Again, you can vote for Moore and not do the Bannon routine, but there are too many Republicans who are doing the Bannon routine.
00:30:10.000 That is going to have some serious blowback.
00:30:12.000 There's the reluctantly supporting Moore crowd, and then there's the Bannon crowd.
00:30:15.000 And the Bannon crowd is going to do severe damage to the Republican brand, but Bannon doesn't care, because all Bannon cares about is his own image as a populist firebrand, even though he's been an irrelevant conman for most of his career until he leeched on to Donald Trump, and after leeching on to Andrew Breitbart and Breitbart's death.
00:30:30.000 Okay, so now I want to talk a little bit about the Trump investigation and the latest on the Trump investigation.
00:30:38.000 Right now, there was a report yesterday that bank records had been subpoenaed from Donald Trump.
00:30:43.000 It turns out this was another false report from the media, so you always have to wait for 24 hours to find out what the media is reporting is true and what they're reporting is false about President Trump.
00:30:52.000 White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Tuesday disputed reports that Special Counsel Robert Mueller had subpoenaed President Trump's bank records.
00:31:00.000 She said, I think this is another example of the media going too far and too fast, and we don't see it going in that direction.
00:31:16.000 So all of the talk about how Trump was being subpoenaed and his financial records were on the line, that turns out not to be true.
00:31:22.000 So that's a part of the investigation that has not yet developed.
00:31:25.000 Meanwhile, there's the rumor out there from CNN that Vice President Pence is going to be brought in to talk with the FBI.
00:31:33.000 According to CNN, new revelations about Michael Flynn's lies to the FBI are laying bare Vice President Mike Pence's in-the-dark strategy when it comes to Russia's election meddling, raising new questions about whether he could have been left in the dark as he has argued for nearly a year.
00:31:45.000 Advisors have long insisted that Pence was unaware Flynn spoke to then-Russian Ambassador to the U.S.
00:31:49.000 Sergey Kislyak about a new set of U.S.
00:31:51.000 sanctions on the day they were announced last December.
00:31:54.000 Well, Pence was not even in town when any of this happened.
00:31:56.000 I mean, there was a political report talking about where Pence was at the time.
00:31:59.000 Pence was apparently back in Indiana this entire time.
00:32:01.000 So the idea that Pence was sitting on top of Mike Flynn for these phone calls, there's not a lot of evidence to support that.
00:32:24.000 The reason that the media want to get Pence is because now they have to get an active member of the administration.
00:32:29.000 Vice President Pence is one of the more powerful vice presidents in recent memory in terms of helping direct policy inside the White House.
00:32:34.000 And if they get Pence, the suggestion is going to be, how could Pence know and Trump not?
00:32:38.000 So they're trying to make the case that moves up the chain.
00:32:40.000 There's not a lot of evidence to support that as of yet.
00:32:43.000 Most of this looks a lot like speculation.
00:32:45.000 So let's not get out over our skis.
00:32:47.000 I think people are out over their skis in the media on all of this.
00:32:52.000 With all of that said, there is now breaking news that President Obama is speaking out again.
00:32:57.000 So this is exciting.
00:32:58.000 President Obama just continues to talk and talk and talk.
00:33:01.000 Apparently, he issued a stark warning about growing nativism in the U.S.
00:33:05.000 and throughout the world at the Economic Club of Chicago, invoking complacency and the rise of Hitler.
00:33:10.000 Oh yes, now we're all going to talk Hitler, Hitler, Hitler, McHitler.
00:33:13.000 He says,
00:33:28.000 So is that supposed to be some sort of veiled remark at Trump?
00:33:30.000 Because President Obama does not get to make those sorts of veiled remarks with regard to President Trump after enabling the most Nazi-like regime on planet Earth, the Iranian regime.
00:33:39.000 And yet that seems like exactly what Obama is doing.
00:33:41.000 This sort of political polarization and the attempts to apparently
00:33:46.000 Throw Trump out of power via an investigation that really has uncovered no underlying crime thus far.
00:33:51.000 You want to destabilize the United States, that's the best way to destabilize the United States.
00:33:54.000 As everyone knows, I have tried to be as objective as I can about President Trump.
00:33:58.000 When I think the evidence is bad for Trump, I'll say so.
00:34:00.000 When I think the evidence is not bad for President Trump, I'll say so.
00:34:03.000 What I will not do is humor this notion from the left that President Trump must be deposed simply because he is President Trump.
00:34:09.000 Because that is crap.
00:34:11.000 He was an elected official.
00:34:12.000 He was elected to the presidency of the United States.
00:34:15.000 And all of these dire warnings about Hitler's rise ignores the fact Hitler's rise occurred because there was a feeling in Germany that there was a complete unworkability of the chancellorship and the government in Germany.
00:34:27.000 The dictatorship actually pre-existed Hitler because people were so dissatisfied they kept handing more power to a centralized government.
00:34:33.000 In Germany, Hitler just grabbed the reins of that power.
00:34:36.000 That is a long process, not a short process.
00:34:38.000 And so for Obama to suggest that we're right on the verge of that and then not look in the mirror at all is somewhat shocking.
00:34:44.000 Overall.
00:34:45.000 So, with all of that said, final piece of news here before we have to break, and that is that there is an Islamist suicide plot that was foiled to assassinate Prime Minister Theresa May.
00:34:56.000 According to Sky's crime correspondent, it's the latest in a number of terror plots that police and MI5 believe they've foiled this year.
00:35:01.000 I understand the head of MI5, Andrew Parker, briefed cabinet ministers Tuesday, such is the seriousness of what they believe they have uncovered.
00:35:07.000 In essence, there's an extreme Islamist suicide plot against Downing Street,
00:35:10.000 Police believe the plan was to launch some sort of improvised explosive device at Downing Street, and in the ensuing chaos, attack and kill Theresa May.
00:35:18.000 Naamir Zakaria Rahman, 20, from North London, and Mohammed Aqib Imran, 21, from Southeast Birmingham, are due to appear at Westminster Magistrate's Court on terrorist charges on Wednesday morning.
00:35:30.000 So, if President Obama is going to worry about the rise of Nazism, I would suggest that he start by worrying about the rise of radical Islam, which he radically helped all the way through his presidency, particularly among the Iranian popul- with regard to the Iranian government.
00:35:44.000 So, with all of this said,
00:35:46.000 With all of this said, I now am going to take a break from Facebook, and we're going to move on.
00:35:50.000 But you have to subscribe for that.

00:37:12.000 Post-Christmas 20...
00:37:14.000 30, probably.
00:37:14.000 But no, it'll actually be happening in the near future.
00:37:16.000 I know I've been promising it for a long time, but just like the embassy, it's delayed, but soon, but we will be gratified at a certain point.
00:37:22.000 So check that out.
00:37:23.000 If you just want to listen to the show later, iTunes, SoundCloud, please subscribe to YouTube.
00:37:27.000 We have a very funny Christmas video that's going to be coming out very soon, so subscribe over at YouTube as well.
00:37:31.000 We are the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast in the nation.
00:37:39.000 Alrighty, so time for some things I like, and then some things that I hate.
00:37:43.000 So, things that I like.
00:37:44.000 I've started this series.
00:37:46.000 I can't say I'm far enough in it to fully endorse it yet, but the first episode is good and solid.
00:37:50.000 It's the series, Godless, on Netflix.
00:37:53.000 It's sort of a feminist western, I think you can say.
00:37:56.000 Is that fair, Mathis?
00:37:57.000 You've seen the whole thing.
00:37:59.000 Okay, you've seen most of it, right?
00:38:00.000 Oh, so you're one episode ahead of me, so your opinion is of no consequence to me.
00:38:04.000 In any case, the first episode is quite good.
00:38:07.000 Jeff Daniels is very frightening as the bad guy.
00:38:10.000 Basically, the idea is that there was this mining town where all the men were killed in a mining accident, and now there's a bad guy coming to town with his crew, and they're searching for a guy who has robbed them, and the danger is that they may come in and kill everyone.
00:38:21.000 So how's this town of women going to defend itself?
00:38:23.000 And the answer, of course, is they will all wear pussy hats.
00:38:25.000 So, I have not gotten to the part where they whip out the pussy hats yet, but I don't think that's right.
00:38:29.000 I think they'll actually show up with guns to defend themselves, making the case for the NRA.
00:38:33.000 The series is Godless, so check that out on Netflix.
00:38:36.000 It is rated R, as are most of the Netflix series that I actually recommend.
00:38:40.000 Okay, time for some things that I hate.
00:38:46.000 So thing I hate, number one, as I mentioned, is that this movie, The Post, is coming out.
00:38:52.000 I went to the theater last night.
00:38:53.000 I watched Murder on the Orient Express, which I quite liked, actually.
00:38:56.000 There were some things I didn't like about it, but I liked it overall.
00:38:59.000 And they showed a preview for The Post.
00:39:01.000 We're at some point going to actually have to grab the video of The Post, but that would be up to me to tell my producers to do that.
00:39:05.000 In any case, the actual trailer is insufferable.
00:39:10.000 Insufferable, as I discussed yesterday on the show.
00:39:13.000 But now, Meryl Streep and Steven Spielberg are doing joint interviews and they're talking about all of the similarities between the Nixon administration and the Trump administration.
00:39:20.000 Now note, there have been zero crackdowns, none, on media under the Trump administration.
00:39:26.000 There's not a paper that's been put out of business.
00:39:28.000 There's not a journalist that's been sued.
00:39:29.000 Nothing.
00:39:31.000 As far as I'm aware, and I'm happy to be corrected, I've seen no actual crackdown.
00:39:35.000 I've seen a White House that doesn't like talking to the press, that stonewalls the press.
00:39:38.000 That was true of Obama as well.
00:39:39.000 The difference is that Obama actually prosecuted members of the press.
00:39:43.000 But here, Steven Spielberg said, quote, I could not believe the similarities between today and what happened with the Nixon administration.
00:39:48.000 I realized this was the only year to make this film.
00:39:51.000 Well, what you realize is that you hadn't made a film that virtue signaled for at least a couple of years, so it was time to make a new one.
00:39:56.000 Meryl Streep talked about what she reads.
00:39:58.000 She says, in my political reading, I read the New York Times, The Washington Post, and The Guardian.
00:40:02.000 Shocker.
00:40:02.000 I check in on political axios and drudge, and I go to Fox often to see the manipulation, right?
00:40:07.000 She has to make clear that she only watches because she wants to see how evil Fox is.
00:40:11.000 And Spielberg talked about some of the hosts he likes, and he says, I like Don Lemon, I like Rachel Maddow.
00:40:15.000 Shocker.
00:40:16.000 And there was also, who else is he talking to?
00:40:19.000 Liz Hanna, who is the screenwriter, and Amy Pascal, who is the producer.
00:40:24.000 And Hannah said, the bravery Anderson Cooper has to go into war zones is pretty admirable.
00:40:28.000 And then Spielberg says, yeah, I adore and follow Christiane Amanpour.
00:40:31.000 Christiane Amanpour is the worst journalist ever.
00:40:34.000 Christiane Amanpour is wildly anti-Israel, wildly anti-American.
00:40:38.000 Christiane Amanpour is terrible.
00:40:40.000 But of course, she's very fashionable in the sort of leftist circles in which Steven Spielberg walks.
00:40:44.000 I'm sure it's because he watches Christiane Amanpour that he thought that Munich would make a good film.
00:40:48.000 And then Meryl Streep said,
00:40:50.000 Maggie Haberman also.
00:40:52.000 I also like Maggie Haberman's report.
00:40:53.000 She said, I tend to trust the women.
00:40:55.000 Yeah, well, you didn't trust the women enough to actually stand up against Harvey Weinstein when you had the chance.
00:41:00.000 So now there's a new report out about how everyone knew what Weinstein was doing, including, apparently, he was injecting his wing-wang with chemicals in order to make it perform certain magical tasks.
00:41:10.000 And everybody knew about it.
00:41:11.000 He was having his assistants do it for him.
00:41:12.000 So, well, good on you, Meryl.
00:41:14.000 You trust the women, but you had nothing to say about any of this stuff for years.
00:41:16.000 So you're a real pillar of strength.
00:41:18.000 OK, other things that I hate.
00:41:20.000 So, speaking of virtue signaling, it seems like all of these pop stars now are coming out and saying that they want their children to be screwed up for life.
00:41:26.000 Like, it's their actual goal in life to screw up their kids.
00:41:28.000 So, pop superstar Pink has two kids, Willow, who's her six-year-old daughter, and Jameson, her 11-month-old son, who's named after some sort of alcohol, I guess.
00:41:37.000 She has big dreams for them, that they don't subscribe to the idea that Willow is a girl and Jameson is a boy.
00:41:43.000 Hank said, quote, I was in a school and the bathroom outside the kindergarten said gender neutral, anybody.
00:41:48.000 And it was a drawing of many shapes.
00:41:49.000 I took a picture of it and I wrote progress.
00:41:51.000 I thought that was awesome.
00:41:52.000 I love that kids are having this conversation.
00:41:54.000 Yes, there's nothing better for small children than being confused as to whether they're a boy or a girl and they can switch randomly and arbitrarily between them.
00:41:59.000 That's not linked with higher suicide attempt rates.
00:42:03.000 It's not linked with depression.
00:42:04.000 It's not linked to any of that stuff.
00:42:06.000 Gender confusion is really good for kids.
00:42:07.000 It's fantastic for kids.
00:42:08.000 If you're insane,
00:42:10.000 If you're insane, part of what your job is to do as parents is to look at what your kids are and then attempt to make their life easier by having them develop in psychologically healthy ways.
00:42:20.000 You have the same people who will say that we need to teach men not to rape.
00:42:23.000 And that men inherently have a tendency toward rape will say that manhood doesn't even exist and a man can be a woman.
00:42:28.000 That's an insane proposition.
00:42:29.000 Okay, the whole point is that if you want men to be good, you have to acknowledge the nature of men and then you have to teach men to be gentlemen.
00:42:35.000 That comes along with a positive masculinity.
00:42:38.000 The same thing is true among women.
00:42:40.000 There is such a thing as positive femininity.
00:42:42.000 Okay, there's such a thing as toxic femininity too, I think.
00:42:45.000 If we're gonna talk about toxicity.
00:42:46.000 Toxic just meaning bad behavior among men or bad behavior among women.
00:42:50.000 To suggest that all women are angels and all men are devils is not the case.
00:42:54.000 Okay, the whole point of civilizing your children is to bring them up to be the best man or woman they can be.
00:42:58.000 If they suffer from gender confusion issues, that's something you have to deal with.
00:43:01.000 But to impose gender confusion on your child because you're so progressive is just pathetic and sick.
00:43:08.000 Pink is enthused that Willow told her she wants to marry an African woman when she grows up.
00:43:13.000 Her kid is six!
00:43:15.000 Her kid is six!
00:43:16.000 She's enthused about that?
00:43:17.000 Like, her kid doesn't even know what she's talking about.
00:43:19.000 Like, her kid doesn't even have...
00:43:22.000 Sexual hormones running through her at this point.
00:43:25.000 And you're already talking like, oh yeah, that's good.
00:43:26.000 If you want to be a lesbian, just go for it.
00:43:27.000 She's a six-year-old.
00:43:28.000 What the hell's wrong with you?
00:43:30.000 So we are a very label-less household.
00:43:32.000 Last week, Willow told me she's going to marry an African woman.
00:43:35.000 Why not an Asian woman?
00:43:36.000 Is her six-year-old a racist?
00:43:37.000 And I was like, great.
00:43:38.000 Can you teach me how to make African food?
00:43:39.000 And she's like, sure, Mama.
00:43:40.000 And we are going to live with you while our house is getting ready.
00:43:42.000 I was like, what the F?
00:43:43.000 Who are you?
00:43:44.000 Who is paying for this, by the way?
00:43:45.000 And she says, this is just great.
00:43:47.000 And it is worth noting, as Hank Barian does over at Daily Wire, that after spending her prepubescent years using ecstasy crystal methane acid, she came close to overdosing this pink in a club when she was 15.
00:43:57.000 She apparently thinks she was screwed up then, but she's much better now, saying, I went off the rails before all of this.
00:44:01.000 I got my bleep out of the way early before anyone knew who I was.
00:44:04.000 Well, why weren't you just exploring your boundaries?
00:44:06.000 Why was that a problem?
00:44:06.000 Why couldn't you just be who you wanted to be?
00:44:08.000 You want to do crystal meth when you're 15?
00:44:09.000 That's fine.
00:44:10.000 And if you want to be a boy when you're a girl at three, what's the problem?
00:44:13.000 Self-definition.
00:44:14.000 Subjectivism.
00:44:15.000 That's the ticket.
00:44:17.000 And now she says, I'm much more mom than I am at anything else.
00:44:19.000 Absolutely 100%.
00:44:20.000 I feel bad for her kids, honestly.
00:44:22.000 Kids want lines.
00:44:23.000 Kids want rules.
00:44:24.000 Kids want structures.
00:44:25.000 Kids want to know that there's predictability in the universe.
00:44:27.000 Parents who fail to recognize this bring up bad children.
00:44:30.000 And children, even if they're not bad, who are troubled and have difficulty.
00:44:35.000 Children are looking for lines.
00:44:36.000 They are unformed by civilization.
00:44:37.000 It's why we form civilizations, to make better human beings.
00:44:41.000 But the left doesn't believe that.
00:44:42.000 They believe that you should be able to do whatever you want in terms of children.
00:44:45.000 Like, children should be able to do whatever they want.
00:44:47.000 We don't have any role in cultivating them.
00:44:48.000 And then they're surprised when uncultivated human beings end up doing bad things when they grow up or end up being troubled when they grow up.
00:44:53.000 Okay, time for a little bit of Bible.
00:44:55.000 So this week I felt that it was useful to go through the actual portion of Genesis where Jerusalem is first referenced according to Jewish tradition.
00:45:02.000 This, of course,
00:45:04.000 is the section in Genesis talking about Jacob's dream.
00:45:07.000 So Jacob leaves Beersheba.
00:45:09.000 This is in Genesis 28, 10 through 22.
00:45:11.000 Jacob left Beersheba and he set out for Haran.
00:45:14.000 When he reached a certain place, he stopped for the night because the sun had set.
00:45:17.000 He took out one of the stones there and he put it under his head and he lay down to sleep.
00:45:21.000 He had a dream in which he saw a stairway resting on the earth, with its top reaching to heaven, and the angels of the Lord were ascending and descending on it.
00:45:27.000 There above it stood the Lord, and he said, I am the Lord thy God, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac, your forefathers.
00:45:34.000 I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are standing.
00:45:36.000 Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south.
00:45:41.000 All the peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring.
00:45:44.000 I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go.
00:45:46.000 I will bring you back to this land.
00:45:47.000 I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.
00:45:50.000 God wasn't lying.
00:45:51.000 For 3,000 years, the Jewish people wanted to go back to the land.
00:45:55.000 For 3,000 years, the Jewish religion was inextricably intertwined with the very place where Jacob was laying his head.
00:46:00.000 For 3,000 years, the Jewish people have had the same dream as Jacob, that there would be a footstool for God in Jerusalem, and the Jewish people would be able to live there in peace.
00:46:11.000 That's all the Jews have ever wanted.
00:46:13.000 Thank you to President Trump for bringing that reality closer to fruition and for acknowledging the reality that already exists.
00:46:19.000 Jacob awoke from his sleep.
00:46:20.000 He said, Surely the Lord is in this place.
00:46:22.000 I was not aware of it.
00:46:23.000 He was afraid, and he said, How awesome is this place!
00:46:25.000 This is none other than the house of God.
00:46:28.000 This is the gate of heaven.
00:46:29.000 No one cares about Jerusalem except for the Jews, and that is why Jewish sovereignty over Jerusalem is important.
00:46:34.000 It's also the same Jews that brought Jerusalem forth, brought forth the basis of Western civilization, and we would not have the civilization we have without those words in the book of Genesis, and it's great to acknowledge the legitimacy of those words from the White House.
00:46:47.000 We'll have much more to discuss tomorrow.
00:46:49.000 Lots of breaking news, as always.
00:46:50.000 I'm Ben Shapiro, this is The Ben Shapiro Show.
