00:00:00.000 Has the UK benefited from it?
00:00:02.000 We did the right thing.
00:00:03.000 Is it a better country than it was? 0.90
00:00:04.000 To have defeated Hitler, yes. 0.60
00:00:06.000 So the UK is a better country now. 0.88
00:00:08.000 It's a healthier country now. 1.00
00:00:09.000 But otherwise, we'll be speaking German. 1.00
00:00:11.000 Who cares?
00:00:15.000 So you might be asking yourself right now, what the actual f?
00:00:20.000 Is that Tucker Carlson?
00:00:21.000 You know, the guy from Fox News saying it would be better if Hitler had won World War II?
00:00:26.000 Yes, it is.
00:00:27.000 And in a moment, we'll examine why he would say something.
00:00:30.000 So disgusting and also stupid.
00:00:37.000 Okay, we need to begin with a simple fact.
00:00:39.000 There are lots and lots and lots of people in the United States who want to watch the system burn.
00:00:44.000 So, over the weekend, Tucker Carlson released an episode of his bizarre show with Jacob Reese Mogg, who is a member of Parliament in the UK for years.
00:00:52.000 He's a member of the Conservative Party.
00:00:53.000 He was a leader of the House of Commons, Lord President of the Council from 2019 to 2022.
00:00:58.000 And Mogg is a pretty normie Conservative, which is why Tucker got into it with him.
00:01:03.000 And the clips are legitimately insane.
00:01:06.000 So we'll begin with the revisionist history section of this interview.
00:01:10.000 So Tucker has this thing where he thinks that America was evil for dropping the A bomb to end World War II.
00:01:15.000 Presumably, he would have preferred if the United States had a million casualties in invading the Japanese home island.
00:01:21.000 But here is Tucker, Henry's mog.
00:01:23.000 I guess the question is if you are willing to kill non combatants who committed no crime, if you're willing to murder the innocent, then in what sense are you better than the people you are fighting?
00:01:37.000 That once a war is engaged, the whole point of what I'm talking about, to go back to the eight part of your question.
00:01:44.000 I will come back to it because it's to avoid war.
00:01:47.000 And you avoid war by being strong.
00:01:49.000 Once you're in war, you are justified in winning the war.
00:01:54.000 So you can behave like an animal once the war starts.
00:01:56.000 If the risk to you is sufficient, you can use nuclear weapons. 0.90
00:02:00.000 I think that is morally justifiable.
00:02:03.000 Again, Tucker has suggested that nuclear weapons were created by demons. 0.58
00:02:07.000 And also, that America lost its soul when it used the A bomb to end World War II.
00:02:12.000 Again, just going to point out that if the United States had actually had to invade the home islands of Japan without use of the A bomb to end the war, meaning six more months of war, that would have meant more dead Japanese and more dead Americans just by the fact.
00:02:26.000 And then, of course, as you saw, Tucker Carlson essentially says that it would have been better if Britain had just surrendered the continent to Hitler and maybe just cut a deal with Hitler where it became a vassal state.
00:02:39.000 Here's the exchange.
00:02:40.000 Hitler did not want to go to war with the UK.
00:02:43.000 He thought we wouldn't do anything about Poland as we'd done nothing about Czechoslovakia.
00:02:46.000 He thought we'd do nothing about Czechoslovakia.
00:02:48.000 Do you acknowledge that?
00:02:49.000 As we'd done nothing about Czechoslovakia, he thought we'd do nothing about Poland.
00:02:52.000 Do you acknowledge that Hitler said repeatedly in public and through diplomacy, I do not want war? 0.78
00:02:56.000 You seem to be putting more trust in Hitler than I would. 0.80
00:02:58.000 Just saying he said that. 0.93
00:02:58.000 He said also. 0.93
00:02:59.000 He signed an agreement with Neville Chamberlain.
00:03:01.000 Did he say that?
00:03:02.000 I really don't care what he said because he signed a piece of paper with Neville Chamberlain saying he would not invade.
00:03:07.000 I'm very surprised you're verging on defending Hitler.
00:03:10.000 I think this is not really what you want to be doing.
00:03:12.000 Yeah, I guess I'm just a secret Nazi.
00:03:16.000 Well, well, I don't think it's much of a secret what Tucker Carlson actually believes, as we'll get to in a moment.
00:03:24.000 And again, Riesmog is saying something very basic here, which is on foreign policy, because we're going to get to Russia Ukraine in a second, on foreign policy, the way that you prevent war is to show that you are strong, whereas Tucker Carlson believes the way to prevent war is to surrender to the Nazis.
00:03:38.000 And it is the projection of strength that avoids war.
00:03:43.000 And this is what we should be doing now.
00:03:44.000 We should learn from history that if your enemy thinks you are weak, then you find you get into war by accident.
00:03:52.000 If you show that you are strong, then the invasion doesn't take place.
00:03:58.000 Okay, so why is this important?
00:04:00.000 Because then Tucker gets into it with Rees Mogg with regard to Russia and Ukraine.
00:04:04.000 Rees Mogg is a defender of Ukraine. 0.55
00:04:06.000 He believes that Russia is the aggressor state, which of course it is.
00:04:09.000 So we begin with Tucker asking, why is the UK confronting Russia?
00:04:14.000 Do you disagree that they could if they wanted to today and this war?
00:04:18.000 Of course they could.
00:04:19.000 Well, I think if they took it to another level, they would risk.
00:04:23.000 Maybe if you keep pushing them, they'll do it.
00:04:24.000 And maybe that's the basis of this conversation, which is why are you pushing them to do it?
00:04:28.000 No, I'm not pushing.
00:04:30.000 I'm pushing us to be prepared because they are making attacks on the West.
00:04:34.000 And we know this.
00:04:35.000 They are making cyber attacks.
00:04:36.000 They are making.
00:04:37.000 But do you see a connection between what the West is doing and Russia's attacks on the West?
00:04:42.000 Or is this just.
00:04:43.000 What would be the other explanation for why they're doing it?
00:04:45.000 I think the reason for Russia going into Ukraine, what allowed them to do it, was our weakness earlier over the Crimea.
00:04:53.000 And that made it look as if we didn't really care.
00:04:56.000 And Tucker's entire mission here is to suggest once again that the enemies of the West are right and the West is wrong for defending itself.
00:05:03.000 Reese Mogg asked Tucker Carlson, Do you even believe in the territorial integrity of nation states?
00:05:08.000 And Tucker says, I do in America, but not really anywhere else.
00:05:11.000 Do you believe in territorial integrity of nation states?
00:05:15.000 In my own, for sure.
00:05:16.000 I'm not sure the territorial integrity of someone else's state is worth risking my life for.
00:05:22.000 The question is, should, first of all, can you guarantee it?
00:05:25.000 America did. 0.50
00:05:26.000 So do you think that was wrong? 1.00
00:05:28.000 Okay, so again, I mean, Reese Mogg is just stepping all over Tucker.
00:05:32.000 And of course, Tucker is just unbelievably ignorant about the stuff that he purports to speak about.
00:05:37.000 Here's Reese Smog talking to Tucker about Tucker's theory that NATO caused Russia to invade Ukraine.
00:05:43.000 You're not listening.
00:05:44.000 No obligation to you.
00:05:46.000 You seem to be devoid of nuance, that the two questions are not the same.
00:05:50.000 Just because you've signed a treaty does not automatically commit you to fighting a war.
00:05:55.000 And then it gets really spicy for Tucker because Tucker can't help but become a full scale defender of the Russian regime, which, again, is a tyrannical and dictatorial regime run by Vladimir Putin, his friend.
00:05:55.000 Okay.
00:06:08.000 So Tucker humiliates himself.
00:06:10.000 By suggesting that Russia has a larger economy than Britain's, which is just not true.
00:06:14.000 It still doesn't explain why Russia would want to pick a fight with Britain.
00:06:19.000 It's got a much larger economy than Britain's, by I think.
00:06:23.000 No, no, no, it hasn't got a larger economy than Britain.
00:06:25.000 It's got a smaller economy than Britain's.
00:06:27.000 It's got a much larger military.
00:06:29.000 It's got a much larger economy.
00:06:31.000 It has much more wealth and resources.
00:06:33.000 It's a much larger manufacturing sector.
00:06:35.000 It's GDP is smaller than the UK's.
00:06:38.000 Yeah, but it's about 2000.
00:06:39.000 GDP is not, I mean, the only measure of an economy.
00:06:41.000 It's a really important measure of an economy.
00:06:44.000 It's one measure.
00:06:45.000 We can do it.
00:06:45.000 Russia is an economic failure.
00:06:49.000 It could have a huge economy, but it's got a small economy because it's deeply corrupt and it hasn't managed to use its resources effectively.
00:06:59.000 And so, although the population of Russia is bigger than that of the United Kingdom very significantly, its GDP per capita is so much lower that the total GDP of Russia is smaller than that of the United Kingdom.
00:07:12.000 Right.
00:07:13.000 Its inherent wealth dwarfs that of the UK.
00:07:16.000 It's the largest country in the world.
00:07:18.000 But leaving aside that, I'm not in charge of central government.
00:07:20.000 Yeah, but inherent wealth isn't very useful, is it?
00:07:22.000 There are lots of African countries that have huge resources that have never been able to use them.
00:07:26.000 It depends what your timeline is.
00:07:26.000 Well, if you go over hundreds of years, they haven't used them.
00:07:29.000 Russia has consistently been a poor country in spite of its resources.
00:07:33.000 Sorry.
00:07:34.000 The fact that anyone takes Tucker Carlson seriously as an intellectual interlocutor is just insane.
00:07:41.000 I mean, Jacob Rees Mogg, being like the most British person who ever Britished, And basically, in very kindly fifth grade school mom fashion, explaining to Tucker how economics works on a basic level is insane.
00:07:55.000 Basic level is insane.
00:07:56.000 But Tucker didn't even stop there.
00:07:58.000 Tucker then claimed that the UK punishes people for free speech, but Russia does not.
00:08:03.000 And again, Reese Mogg looks like he doesn't know how he's found himself in a room with an ambulatory psychotic.
00:08:10.000 I just don't understand, given what you've already just conceded, that the government of the United Kingdom is punishing and prohibiting people and ideas it doesn't like.
00:08:24.000 Russia is not doing that.
00:08:25.000 So how is.
00:08:26.000 What?
00:08:27.000 You can't say what it means in Russia.
00:08:27.000 To you.
00:08:29.000 It's doing it in spades.
00:08:31.000 It's beating people up, it's restoring them, it's murdering.
00:08:32.000 In this country?
00:08:34.000 No, your citizens are.
00:08:34.000 Well, it's.
00:08:35.000 Russia has poisoned people in this country.
00:08:39.000 Russia has put fewer people in jail in the last year for social media posts than the UK has.
00:08:47.000 They just accidentally fall out of windows in Russia.
00:08:51.000 And nobody dares say it in Russia because they're not related to it.
00:08:54.000 Neither of us live in Russia, but if you're a Briton, if you live in this country and your ancestors have lived here for thousands of years.
00:09:00.000 The threat to your freedom comes from your government, not Russia.
00:09:03.000 I'm not in favor of the way free speech is being policed in this country.
00:09:09.000 So, why not try to overthrow your government?
00:09:11.000 Well, I hope to stand at the next election.
00:09:13.000 We have a democracy that functions.
00:09:15.000 But if they're oppressing you, if you can't say what you think, that's oppression.
00:09:18.000 Again, just insanity.
00:09:20.000 Total insanity.
00:09:21.000 So, what the hell is Tucker doing here aside from making a total and complete ass of himself?
00:09:27.000 The answer is actually pretty simple.
00:09:29.000 Tucker hates the West as currently constituted.
00:09:32.000 He believes that at some point in the past, the West fundamentally betrayed itself, and he is intent on ripping it down.
00:09:38.000 And he's not the only one, of course.
00:09:39.000 This is why I've said many, many times that Tucker is the horseshoe right, and he joins hands with the left in hatred for the West.
00:09:46.000 Again, the left believes that the United States, again, fundamentally went wrong.
00:09:50.000 There's something deeply ill at the root of American society.
00:09:53.000 Not that we have some problems, but there is something that needs to be completely destroyed.
00:09:58.000 Here's Ben Affleck over the weekend at the premiere of a movie called Animals saying there's collective disappointment with American politics.
00:10:04.000 I think that there is a, whatever side of the aisle you're on, one of the interesting things that people can agree on is that a collective disappointment with the way that American politics has trended.
00:10:17.000 There's nobody alive now who thinks, hey, we're really doing it right and things are going great and I love this political system.
00:10:24.000 Okay, but again, Ben Affleck is kind of the idiot clique of the left wing political sphere.
00:10:29.000 Abdullah Syed might be the next senator from Michigan.
00:10:32.000 Here he was on higher learning with Rachel Lindsay.
00:10:35.000 Again, I'm not sure.
00:10:37.000 A more oxymoronic title for a show has ever been put forth than Higher Learning with Rachel Lindsay.
00:10:43.000 Here's El Syed explaining that if you're black in America, you have never had access to capitalism. 0.65
00:10:48.000 If you're black in America, you've never actually had access to real capitalism. 0.66
00:10:52.000 You had your labor extracted from you via the most fundamentally unethical, immoral act of placing somebody in slavery.
00:11:05.000 And then we've excluded black folk in different ways. 0.92
00:11:09.000 We still exclude black folk in different ways.
00:11:11.000 From full participation in capitalism via access to capital, via access to good schools, via access to healthcare, via access to all these things. 0.90
00:11:18.000 Yeah, America is fundamentally broken and always was fundamentally broken.
00:11:21.000 Meanwhile, Zorhan Mamdani appeared with horseshoe commentator Theo Vaughn, whose mullet has grown deep into his brainstem at this point, considering that he has very little brain function, unfortunately.
00:11:33.000 Zorhan Mamdani explains that when he feels isolated, his solution was to join the Democratic Socialists of America.
00:11:39.000 I mean, the place that I found as my political home. Was an organization called the Democratic Socialists of America.
00:11:46.000 And this was a place where I would just go for meetings and I would meet people who felt the same way.
00:11:50.000 And first, you would realize that you're not alone.
00:11:54.000 You're not nuts.
00:11:56.000 You are actually part of something much bigger than yourself, and you can be as well.
00:12:02.000 And it feels like when people go through life, the further they get away from school, the more isolated they start to become from the world around them.
00:12:10.000 And that is also a function of a society where people are what they call increasingly atomized, just separated out.
00:12:20.000 And so much of the fabric that we used to have, it started to.
00:12:23.000 Come apart at the seams.
00:12:25.000 And for me, being a member of this organization, it was something that opened my eyes to how to make sense of it and also what I could do to change it.
00:12:33.000 And that was something that it didn't just help me with my anxiety.
00:12:36.000 It also just helped me with my sense of my place in the world where it was like, okay, I feel this way.
00:12:41.000 Here's a candidate that feels the same.
00:12:43.000 I'm going to go and knock on doors for them.
00:12:45.000 Just going to point out that again, Zoram Amdani, Theo Vaughn, Tucker Carlson, Abdul Al Sayyid, they're all on the same train.
00:12:51.000 And the train is that the West is bad and fundamentally flawed.
00:12:54.000 We'll get to more on that in a moment.
00:12:55.000 You need better wireless coverage at the best possible price.
00:12:58.000 More than 120,000 wireless customers participated in a recent industry survey.
00:13:03.000 PureTalk was the only wireless company in the country turned five out of five stars in every single category.
00:13:08.000 Coverage, support, value, data.
00:13:10.000 Unlimited high speed data with PureTalk is just $34.99 a month.
00:13:13.000 Those numbers are great.
00:13:14.000 I know because I use PureTalk myself.
00:13:15.000 I make calls, I send the text, the videos, the whole thing.
00:13:17.000 Unlimited data.
00:13:18.000 I can tell you firsthand the coverage is awesome right now.
00:13:20.000 You can also save 50% off your first month when you switch.
00:13:23.000 So 50% off, $34.99 a month for the unlimited plan with five star quality and experience.
00:13:29.000 What do you have to lose except for, you know, the high prices?
00:13:32.000 Go to puretalk.comslash Shapiro.
00:13:34.000 Stop overpaying for subpar wireless service.
00:13:36.000 Stop buying the nonsense that you have to walk into some sort of wireless store and they'll offer you a smorgasbord of options.
00:13:42.000 Then you just get the most expensive one.
00:13:43.000 Don't do that.
00:13:44.000 Instead, check out puretalk.com.
00:13:45.000 That's puretalk.comslash Shapiro.
00:13:47.000 Save 50% off your very first month of coverage.

00:13:52.000 Go check them out.
00:13:53.000 puretalk.comslash Shapiro.
00:13:55.000 Welcome to puretalk.
00:13:56.000 So, why are so many people, the people who I once called disintegrationists, In my best selling book, How to Destroy America in Three Easy Steps, because they want America to disintegrate and they would like that to happen.
00:14:08.000 Why are they so intent on destroying the country?
00:14:10.000 To understand the answer to that question, we have to understand another question that Tucker Carlson and people like him on both the right and the left keep asking pretty publicly.
00:14:18.000 Where did everything go wrong for America?
00:14:21.000 Where did everything go wrong for the United States?
00:14:23.000 Now, the answer to that question for most Americans is simple.
00:14:27.000 It didn't all go wrong.
00:14:27.000 It didn't.
00:14:29.000 America is a pretty fantastic place.
00:14:31.000 It's the envy of the world.
00:14:32.000 It's a place of opportunity and unparalleled prosperity.
00:14:35.000 And it's a country that currently presides over the entire global order.
00:14:38.000 So it didn't all go wrong.
00:14:39.000 Some things have gone wrong and many things have actually gone right.
00:14:42.000 That's what a normal person might say.
00:14:45.000 The art of politics for people who don't want to destroy the system lies in keeping what is good and taking away what is bad.
00:14:51.000 We used to call that conservatism.
00:14:54.000 G.K. Chesterton, the conservative theologian once said, quote, the truth is that nobody has any business to destroy a social institution until he has really seen it as a historical institution.
00:15:05.000 If he knows how it arose and what purposes it was supposed to serve, he may really be able to say, Okay, but the revolutionaries in the moment, the Tucker Carlson's, the Abdul Al Said's, the Zar Mamdanis, that's not what they think.
00:15:27.000 They think that their fathers and grandfathers were idiots who sold their birthright.
00:15:32.000 Their birthright must be restored by ripping down all the systems.
00:15:39.000 That's the story told by all the revolutionary movements in America.
00:15:42.000 Things were going all right for the most part until everything went wrong for us and people like us.
00:15:48.000 So here's the basic idea.
00:15:50.000 Forget Tucker and Abdul Al Sayed or Zorhan Mamdani.
00:15:53.000 We are living in a uniquely terrible moment. 0.99
00:15:55.000 Things suck, but they don't just suck right now.
00:15:58.000 They are doomed to suck forever because the systems are fundamentally broken.
00:16:02.000 That's because there is some historical inflection point, a point at which Marty McFly's mom and dad met the wrong way, thus unleashing a chain of inevitabilities that have culminated in Marty McFly's car crashing and him not being able to go to the lake with Jennifer.
00:16:15.000 Right.
00:16:15.000 And that's why we have a terrible moment because something bad happened in the past.
00:16:18.000 Now, most Americans, why don't we believe that there was this terrible moment?
00:16:21.000 Well, because we were lied to.
00:16:23.000 We are infused with a false consciousness that has hypnotized us into accepting a decayed present and a dead future.
00:16:30.000 So, the goal of these revolutionaries on all sides is therefore to disabuse Americans of the false consciousness, to awaken them, to woke us about the reality of our terrible moment by exploding the supposedly false story of our past.
00:16:44.000 And, of course, the radical movements want to strip away this veil of illusion, to unmask the satanic conspirators who purposefully and maliciously let us awry and continue to do so today.
00:16:55.000 So who are these satanic conspirators who keep saying that things are going fine?
00:16:58.000 Or more importantly, that even if they're not going fine right now, the institutions are not fundamentally broken.
00:17:03.000 We've just screwed around with them.
00:17:05.000 Who are the bad guys?
00:17:05.000 The people who are doing well right now.
00:17:08.000 If you're doing well, you're an exploiter.
00:17:10.000 If you are doing poorly, you're a victim.
00:17:11.000 So the people who have benefited from the selling of our birthright, those are the ones who are in control.
00:17:16.000 They've manipulated us.
00:17:18.000 They must be destroyed.
00:17:19.000 This is the common thread to all the revolutionary movements happening right now in the West.
00:17:23.000 America and the West were betrayed.
00:17:25.000 The people who benefited from that betrayal lied to you about everything.
00:17:28.000 So they and the systems they created supposedly must be destroyed.
00:17:32.000 Okay, so let me give you a few examples. 0.94
00:17:34.000 Some of them, non Tucker, you can see what I'm talking about here.
00:17:37.000 Okay, so there's a Marxist strain in the United States and in the West right now that wants to see the West destroyed.
00:17:43.000 So what do Marxists at core argue?
00:17:45.000 Well, they argue that long ago, human beings lived in a romantic commune with nature and one another.
00:17:51.000 And, you know, they would wander the forests and the fields and they would hunt and they would gather and they would live rich and rewarding social lives.
00:17:57.000 And then, say the Marxist philosophers or pre-Marxist philosophers like Jean-Jacques Rousseau, things went wrong.
00:18:02.000 People realized they could farm, right?
00:18:04.000 This is the inflection point.
00:18:05.000 And once they realized the power of agriculture, they began to fence off property and call it private property and monopolize resources, thus leading to the rise of jealousy and tyranny and oppression.
00:18:15.000 People fell for the trick.
00:18:16.000 Humanity's been going wrong ever since.
00:18:17.000 So Rousseau's heirs, including people like Karl Marx, made the same argument.
00:18:21.000 That argument is made today by people like Bernie Sanders, who insists that every innovation is actually a robbery from a mythical commons.
00:18:27.000 And that the only reason that you're not a communist and don't understand this is because you were implanted with a False consciousness.
00:18:33.000 Marx said this.
00:18:34.000 He actually wrote, the press, the pulpit, the comic papers, in short, by all the means at the disposal of the ruling classes, it is the secret by which the capitalist class maintains its power.
00:18:43.000 Basically, you've been indoctrinated. 0.51
00:18:46.000 In the modern era, that's the same argument that you see El Syed making in that clip.
00:18:52.000 It's the same argument made by Nicole Hannah Jones, creator of the 1619 Project.
00:18:55.000 America went wrong from the start because it believed in meritocracy and individual rights and free markets, and those are outgrowths of greed and venality and racism.
00:19:05.000 So, all of those things have to be destroyed. 0.87
00:19:08.000 This is why Nicole Hannah Jones, back when she wrote the 1619 Project, said, If I ever think everyone has the same opportunities in America and where black people struggle, it's because of their own pathology. 0.94
00:19:18.000 I support regressive individualistic policy that doesn't change the structure or hierarchy or inequality in our system.
00:19:23.000 So, again, who's the evil enemy?
00:19:25.000 Who's manipulated us all?
00:19:26.000 Well, you'll never guess.
00:19:27.000 So, Marx argued that in order to achieve the overthrow of all of these structures, right, a free market rooted in private property, who are the big problems here? 1.00
00:19:37.000 The Jews, right? 0.83
00:19:37.000 There's an argument that Karl Marx made in a famous essay called On the Jews. 0.83
00:19:41.000 He said, Let us not look for the secret of the Jew in his religion. 0.88
00:19:44.000 Let us look for the secret of his religion in the real Jew. 0.64
00:19:47.000 What is the secular basis of Judaism? 0.99
00:19:49.000 Practical need, self interest. 0.97
00:19:51.000 What is the worldly religion of the Jew? 1.00
00:19:52.000 Huckstering. 1.00
00:19:53.000 What is his worldly God?
00:19:54.000 Money. 0.82
00:19:55.000 He says the emancipation of the Jews is the emancipation of mankind from Judaism. 0.62
00:20:00.000 So the Marxist left is still singing the same tune. 0.86
00:20:02.000 If you wonder why the Marxist left today has turned anti Semitic, this would be the reason.
00:20:05.000 They argue that the Jews in both America and Israel are the beneficiaries of a racist system, that they are the propagators of all the institutions that continue to foment racism. 0.63
00:20:18.000 And it should not be a surprise to anybody that Black Lives Matter's group were on the same side as Hamas on October 7th.
00:20:25.000 Now, I'm using the Marxists as an example, but they are not the only example. 0.82
00:20:29.000 Again, the revolutionaries who want to tear down the entire system. 0.59
00:20:32.000 So, a group from the right, the so called Catholic Integralists.
00:20:36.000 Again, the entire idea here is there was some historical juncture at which the entire thing went haywire and sideways.
00:20:43.000 So, this is a fairly small group of intellectuals who argue that basically the West went wrong with the End of the Holy Roman Empire.
00:20:50.000 The world was gradually falling under the sway of the universal church.
00:20:53.000 Everything was great.
00:20:54.000 The Holy Roman Empire was thriving.
00:20:56.000 Everything was awesome. 0.95
00:20:57.000 And then the Protestant Reformation broke everything.
00:20:59.000 So, according to Catholic integralist Adrian Vermeule, who's a professor at Harvard, he says, Now, what is at stake indeed is far more elevated than power.
00:21:07.000 What is at stake is no less than authority.
00:21:09.000 The full authority of a reasoned political order composed of both temporal and spiritual powers in right relation to the natural and divine law that would put a mere Rome to shame.
00:21:18.000 That limitless ambition is why liberalism finds a genuinely political Catholicism intolerable.
00:21:23.000 Why a liberal order will only accept a version of Catholicism that submits to be ruled.
00:21:27.000 So basically, he's saying Catholicism ought to win and liberalism ought to lose.
00:21:31.000 And the argument that he makes is that history, again, went haywire with the Protestant Reformation.
00:21:35.000 So, in this view, Enlightenment progress has to be denigrated.
00:21:39.000 Free markets, the single most obvious material feature of the Enlightenment era viewpoint of the Anglo American Protestant world, has to be downplayed or demonized as ineffective and dehumanizing.
00:21:52.000 So, Patrick Dunin, another Catholic integralist, laments free markets as inherently unfree and ugly.
00:21:57.000 In terms that are basically the same as those of Karl Marx.
00:22:00.000 He writes, Our main political choices come down to which depersonalized mechanism will purportedly advance our freedom and security.
00:22:06.000 The space of the market, which collects our billions upon billions of choices to provide for our wants and needs without demanding from us any specific thought or intention about the wants and needs of others, or the liberal state, which establishes depersonalized procedures and mechanisms for the wants and needs of others that remain insufficiently addressed by the market.
00:22:22.000 Indeed, it's really not a surprise to find this kind of language emanating predominantly from advocates for Catholic integralism, because if we recognize that, say, free markets.
00:22:30.000 And individual liberty are actually kind of awesome.
00:22:33.000 That the extraordinary freedom and prosperity of the West are downstream from the Protestant Reformation.
00:22:38.000 You're going to have to admit that historically speaking, Catholic universalism wasn't working all that well.
00:22:43.000 And so instead, it's important to pretend that free markets, even though they enrich us, are basically robbing us of our spirit and our souls and our true freedom by creating new ones.
00:22:52.000 Okay, now back to Tucker Carlson.
00:22:54.000 It's a long digression just to show you that all of these revolutionary movements have the same structure.
00:22:59.000 We'll get to more on that in a moment.

00:23:35.000 One of the big reasons for that is that I do not have my Helix Sleep mattress here.

00:24:01.000 So, what is Tucker's answer to the question of when things went wrong?
00:24:05.000 Right?
00:24:05.000 That's the question.
00:24:06.000 When things went wrong.
00:24:07.000 His answer is World War II, which is why he is laser beam focused on World War II.
00:24:12.000 So, here's his story about where the Marty McFly moment happened.
00:24:16.000 Where the parents met because dad was supposedly bird watching, but was actually putting binoculars up so that he could be a peeping Tom.
00:24:24.000 Okay, where did things go wrong? 0.54
00:24:26.000 So, according to Tucker Carlson, at one point in history, America was a land of white people like Tucker Carlson.
00:24:33.000 The definition of white kept on expanding.
00:24:34.000 It embraced Irish and Scotch and Italians and Germans and Swedes.
00:24:38.000 And sure, a lot of the people who immigrated to America were Catholic and not Protestant.
00:24:41.000 But, says Tucker, the story of America was never a creed.
00:24:44.000 It wasn't the Declaration.
00:24:45.000 It wasn't about the Constitution.
00:24:47.000 It was a people. 0.67
00:24:49.000 And those people were fundamentally betrayed by American leadership, which turned away from its people toward other shores, siding with communists and Jews and globalists instead of ignoring the problems of Europe or even siding with Germany, which again was full of white people instead.
00:25:04.000 America's triumph over Nazism in World War II, so goes the argument, turned us from a white Christian country into a multiracial global empire in hot to free market capitalism and secular humanism.
00:25:14.000 Now again, this is not an argument unique to Tucker.
00:25:16.000 This is an argument that Pat Buchanan used to make.
00:25:18.000 He used to argue that World War II was a tragic mistake by people who resisted Hitler.
00:25:23.000 So he wrote a book in which he said, quote, historians will look back on the 1914 through 1918 and 1939 to 1945 as two phases of the Great Civil War of the West, where the once Christian nations of Europe fell upon one another with such savage abandon, they brought down all their empires, brought an end to centuries of Western rule, and advanced the death of their civilization.
00:25:41.000 Now, what's weird about that, again, is that the outcome of that particular period was an America that was heavily Christian dominating the world.
00:25:51.000 Dominating the world. 0.92
00:25:53.000 The only two powers that were left after World War II were the Soviets and the United States.
00:25:58.000 The United States was a heavily practicing Christian country.
00:26:01.000 And the United States was not only dominant, it then proceeded to dominate the Cold War and win.
00:26:07.000 Okay, so that's a weird narrative.
00:26:10.000 It's a strange narrative.
00:26:12.000 So, what brought about the war, according to Buchanan?
00:26:14.000 He said, While Irish and German Americans were the most vocal about staying out of World War II, Jewish Americans clamored to have the United States smash Hitler's regime.
00:26:22.000 After World War II, Jewish influence over foreign policy became. 0.62
00:26:25.000 Almost an obsession with American leaders. 0.94
00:26:27.000 Okay, so that's the story.
00:26:28.000 Hey, wonder why the obsession with World War II and why Tucker talks about Israel and the Jews more than a rabbi?
00:26:33.000 This is why.
00:26:34.000 So, Tucker Carlson, his entire worldview is America went wrong during World War II.
00:26:40.000 And so, everything since then has been bad, which of course is not true.
00:26:43.000 In fact, many, many things have been quite good.
00:26:46.000 So, his history is wrong.
00:26:48.000 The way he tells the history is wrong.
00:26:50.000 The way he talks about the modern world is wrong.
00:26:51.000 And the way he talks about the current situation and past situation of the United States is wrong.
00:26:55.000 But again, that's the narrative.
00:26:57.000 So, Tucker then paints Winston Churchill as the chief villain of World War II.
00:27:01.000 And he makes the same case, while, of course, hosting pseudo historians like Darrell Cooper, who say that Churchill himself manipulated the world into World War II on behalf of Zionist paymasters, which, of course, is historically false.
00:27:14.000 So, Tucker constantly says that while the Allies defeated the Nazis, Western civilization was lost.
00:27:20.000 So, where's the victory?
00:27:21.000 Now, again, as I say, that argument requires enormous revisionist history and historical ignorance. 0.55
00:27:27.000 Nazi Germany was not a Christian paradise.
00:27:30.000 Nazi Germany targeted Catholics.
00:27:32.000 Nazi Germany was a barbaric, tyrannical dictatorship intent on mass murder and expansion and attacks on other Christian countries, including, for example, Poland or the Czech Republic or Austria.
00:27:44.000 The Molotov Ribbentrop Pact had the Nazis siding with the barbarically anti Christian Soviets to carve up Europe.
00:27:50.000 It sided with the non Christian country Japan and then went to war with the United States.
00:27:55.000 After World War II, there was the Cold War, and that ended with the United States removing the most notoriously atheistic anti Christian regime ever devised in world history. 0.52
00:28:05.000 Again, in the 1950s, the United States was one of the most highly church going civilizations on planet Earth.
00:28:11.000 And by the way, since World War II, America's prosperity has led the globe out of abject poverty, increased life expectancy, and living standards domestically in unprecedented ways.
00:28:19.000 Now, all of this has to be ignored or explained away by people like Tucker as false consciousness brought about by propaganda, right?
00:28:24.000 America has actually sucked.
00:28:25.000 You didn't know it, but America has sucked since World War II.
00:28:28.000 The propaganda, that's done by, well, you know who.
00:28:31.000 You know who.
00:28:31.000 Wink, wink, nod, nod.
00:28:33.000 American foreign policy wasn't actually controlled by white Christian Americans predominantly. 0.83
00:28:37.000 In fact, it was controlled by you know who.
00:28:40.000 So, what's Tucker's end goal here?
00:28:42.000 It's the same as Nicole Hannah Jones is or Adrian Vermeule's or any other revolutionary who's seeking to overturn the system.
00:28:48.000 First, you demoralize.
00:28:50.000 See, here's the thing America is responsible for the greatest movement away from poverty, away from tyranny in all of human history.
00:28:59.000 American citizens have it better than anyone else, anywhere, anytime in human history.
00:29:04.000 And so, the chief goal of all these radicals on all sides of the aisle is demoralization.
00:29:08.000 So, Bernie Sanders tells us we're all poor and suffering victims of the supposed billionaires and millionaires.
00:29:14.000 And that the solution to all of that is a centralized government redistribution.
00:29:18.000 Catholic integralists will tell us we live in a godless, unrooted society, isolated and atomistic, and the reason for that is capitalism.
00:29:24.000 And the only cure is that we should get rid of the liberal principles of the Declaration and the Constitution and return to a sort of new Holy Roman Empire and listen to the Pope in Rerum Navarum. 0.86
00:29:34.000 The Tuckers of the world argue we live in an overrun, impoverished, spiritually barren society. 0.80
00:29:38.000 The only cure is a turn inward toward exclusivity and homogeneity, nothing to do with ideas. 0.99
00:29:44.000 It turns out we never won World War II.
00:29:46.000 We never won the Cold War. 1.00
00:29:47.000 Bin Laden, hell, he might have been right. 0.99
00:29:49.000 Abdullah Sayed might be right about 9 11. 0.99
00:29:51.000 We never landed on the moon.
00:29:52.000 We never overcame racism.
00:29:53.000 We never alleviated poverty.
00:29:55.000 Defeating transgenderism is a nothing burger. 1.00
00:29:57.000 Fighting DEI is a losing battle. 1.00
00:29:59.000 Our foreign policy has been outsourced to nefarious Jews. 1.00
00:30:01.000 Our domestic policy has been completely thwarted by evil people at the top who want to deracinate you. 0.59
00:30:08.000 And who's to blame for all of this, according to Tucker?
00:30:10.000 Well, I think.
00:30:11.000 Wink, wink.
00:30:11.000 What an amazing video you just watched!
00:30:13.000 Wasn't that amazing?
00:30:14.000 Well, you know, if you think so, head on over to dailywire.comslash subscribe to watch the full show ad free or check out this crazy story here.
00:30:22.000 Every significant movement in history has started with protesting.
00:30:24.000 Now I've tried it.
00:30:25.000 It's Uncle Tom.
00:30:26.000 This is our generation's civil rights.
00:30:27.000 I have no idea what the protest is about.
00:30:30.000 Bingo.
00:30:30.000 Given the current climate, should a figure as polarizing as Clay Saunders even be allowed on campus?
00:30:36.000 Ah, can you hear me okay?
00:30:37.000 Saunders is a close personal friend of Chancellor Friedman.
00:30:39.000 This is a decision I cannot fight. 1.00
00:30:41.000 Islam will conquer the West. 1.00
00:30:43.000 Assalamualaikum. 1.00
00:30:48.000 Are we paying attention?
00:30:50.000 They've taken over the building.
00:30:51.000 They're downstairs and they've blocked the doors.
00:30:54.000 I seek forgiveness from Allah the Almighty.
00:30:58.000 We cannot run and hide.
00:31:00.000 Muhammad is the messenger of God.
00:31:04.000 There is no God but Allah.
00:31:06.000 What do you say? 0.99
00:31:08.000 He turned those SOBs into a fine red mist. 1.00
00:31:13.000 As we move, one man will cover while the other guys go. 1.00
00:31:16.000 They call that leapfrogging.
00:31:17.000 Stretch them out and listen.
00:31:20.000 You need a course in safe weapons handling.
