00:00:00.000 Texas and Mississippi open back up, and the Democrats and media lose their ever-loving minds.
00:00:04.000 Plus, Andrew Cuomo says he's not going anywhere.
00:00:07.000 I'm Ben Shapiro.
00:00:07.000 This is the Venture Piro show.
00:00:14.000 This show is sponsored by ExpressVPN.
00:00:16.000 It's time to stand up to big tech.
00:00:17.000 Protect your data at ExpressVPN.com.
00:00:20.000 We'll get to all the news of the day in just one moment.
00:00:22.000 First, the word is out.
00:00:24.000 People are abandoning that overpriced wireless carrier.
00:00:26.000 They are flocking to PeerTalk for the same coverage, but at a fraction of the price.
00:00:29.000 That is correct.
00:00:30.000 If you're with Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile, Switching to Pure Talk could save your family over $800 a year.
00:00:35.000 And switching is really easy.
00:00:36.000 You can keep your phone, keep your number, or get huge discounts on the latest iPhones and Androids.
00:00:41.000 Right now, you can get unlimited talk, text, and 6 gigs of data for just $30 a month.
00:00:45.000 And if you go over on data, they don't charge you for it.
00:00:48.000 There's a reason Pure Talk is the highest rated wireless company by Consumer Affairs.
00:00:51.000 Stop giving your money to overpriced wireless carriers and start saving money right now.
00:00:56.000 A lot of phone companies will intentionally try to confuse you.
00:00:58.000 Exactly what kind of coverage you're getting for the money that you're paying.
00:01:00.000 And not so with PeerTalk.
00:01:01.000 You know exactly what you're getting.
00:01:02.000 Again, that's unlimited talk, text, and six gigs of data for just 30 bucks a month.
00:01:06.000 And if you go over on the data, they're not going to charge you.
00:01:08.000 So you have nothing to lose.
00:01:09.000 From your cell phone, dial pound 250, say Ben Shapiro.
00:01:12.000 You'll save 50% off your very first month.
00:01:14.000 That is pound 250.
00:01:16.000 Say Ben Shapiro.
00:01:17.000 PeerTalk is simply smarter wireless.
00:01:18.000 Go check them out right now.
00:01:19.000 Dial pound 250 and say my name, Ben Shapiro, and get 50% off your very first month.
00:01:25.000 And you're going to save hundreds Down the road.
00:01:26.000 Alrighty, so, Texas and Mississippi have now opened back up, and people seem to be very upset about this.
00:01:33.000 They seem very, very angry that certain states in America are opening back up wider than other states.
00:01:39.000 And I gotta say, I don't think this has a lot to do with science.
00:01:41.000 I think this has a lot to do with jealousy and a one-size-fits-all mentality about what works.
00:01:46.000 And this comes from the public health establishment, the vaunted Dr. Fauci's out there, the same media that proclaimed that Andrew Cuomo was fantastic at this and Gavin Newsom was fantastic at this.
00:01:57.000 Well, it turns out that a lot of states approach this thing a lot of different ways, and there are a lot of different results.
00:02:01.000 And some of those results resembled each other, even when the methods to get to those results did not resemble one another.
00:02:06.000 As I've been pointing out for, at this point, months, California and Florida have very similar death per million rates.
00:02:13.000 Florida has the second oldest population in America after Maine, which means they really have the oldest population because Maine has eight people.
00:02:18.000 And California has the fifth youngest population.
00:02:21.000 California has been shut down for a year.
00:02:23.000 Florida has been wide open since the summer.
00:02:25.000 And yet the public health professionals, they will tell you that Florida has been irresponsible and terrible.
00:02:30.000 And now that Texas and Mississippi are opening back up, they're saying, oh, well, you know, they can't do that.
00:02:35.000 That's just terrible.
00:02:36.000 And we're getting the scare tactics.
00:02:37.000 So, you see all these reports today about all of these COVID variants that are going to inevitably wipe through the population.
00:02:44.000 The problem is, we don't actually know that at this point.
00:02:47.000 We know that the vaccines have some efficacy against most of the variants that we have seen thus far, and we don't have enough evidence thus far as to what the actual effect of the variants is going to be on vaccinated populations, which is why we are rushing to vaccinate people right now.
00:02:59.000 Nonetheless, the media are fully invested in panic mode and remain invested in panic mode because Number one, it's good for business.
00:03:06.000 And number two, they're invested in the idea that centralized government is the solution to all ills.
00:03:10.000 Because once the government has centralized all power, then the government can do everything you want the government to do.
00:03:15.000 Every crisis is an opportunity, as Rahm Emanuel, Barack Obama's former chief of staff and former mayor of Chicago, once said.
00:03:22.000 So Reuters is reporting that Chris Murray, a University of Washington disease expert whose projections on COVID-19 infections and deaths are closely followed worldwide, is changing his assumptions about the course of the pandemic.
00:03:32.000 Murray had until recently been hopeful that the discovery of several effective vaccines could help countries achieve herd immunity or nearly eliminate transmission through a combination of inoculation and previous infection.
00:03:40.000 But in the last month, data from a vaccine trial in South Africa showed not only that a rapidly spreading COVID variant could dampen the effect of the vaccine, it could also evade natural immunity in people who had previously been infected.
00:03:50.000 Well, if that is the case, then You literally can't do anything.
00:03:53.000 You've now talked about a disease that you cannot create immunity to, right?
00:03:57.000 It just comes back around.
00:03:58.000 It's like a common cold.
00:03:59.000 It just comes back around.
00:04:01.000 And the vaccine ain't gonna work on it, so what exactly are you supposed to do?
00:04:04.000 Lock yourself in your house for the rest of time?
00:04:06.000 He says, I couldn't sleep.
00:04:08.000 He's the director of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation.
00:04:10.000 Remember the IHME model, which was really, really off in the early days?
00:04:14.000 It's basically a garbage in, garbage out model.
00:04:16.000 It just takes prior data, puts it in there, and then makes assumptions, makes the assumptions clear, and then tosses out what it thinks will be the future.
00:04:22.000 Sometimes it's right, and sometimes it's wrong.
00:04:24.000 It certainly was not the best model that was out there.
00:04:27.000 A new consensus is emerging, according to scientists, according to Reuters interviews.
00:04:31.000 Many described how the breakthrough late last year of two vaccines with around 95% efficacy against COVID-19 had initially sparked hope the virus could be largely contained, similar to the way measles has been.
00:04:40.000 But they say now it looks like this is going to be an endemic virus.
00:04:44.000 It'll circulate in communities and it could cause a significant burden of illness and death for years to come.
00:04:49.000 As a result, said scientists, people could expect to continue to take measures such as routine mask wearing and avoiding crowded places during COVID-19 surges, especially for people at high risk.
00:04:58.000 Dr. Fauci says, I would still want to wear a mask if there was a variant out there.
00:05:01.000 All you need is one little flick of a variant sparking another surge.
00:05:03.000 And there goes your prediction about when life gets back to normal.
00:05:07.000 Murray says that if the South African variant or similar mutants continue to spread rapidly, the number of COVID-19 cases resulting in hospitalization or death this coming winter could be four times higher than the flu.
00:05:16.000 Now again, it's important to understand base rates here.
00:05:19.000 Four times higher than the flu does not mean that we are looking at Black Plague-type numbers.
00:05:24.000 The flu is indeed a dangerous disease, but nobody has ever shut down society for the flu.
00:05:29.000 We know that this particular disease has been something like five times more deadly than the flu.
00:05:33.000 And we also know that it spreads much more widely than the flu.
00:05:35.000 So now we are saying that the amount of death total, not the deadliness, the amount of death is four times that of the flu, with a virus that is much more contagious.
00:05:45.000 And there's not really a way of stopping it.
00:05:47.000 The only time that people are actively going to engage in the sort of measures we've been engaging in is if the health system is on the verge of being overwhelmed.
00:05:53.000 And we actually don't have evidence that that is the case anywhere in America right now.
00:05:56.000 It may happen.
00:05:57.000 And if that happens, then maybe we'll start taking these measures.
00:06:00.000 But in reality, most people, particularly young, healthy people, are not going to stop their lives.
00:06:05.000 Stop dating, stop going to parties, stop going to ballgames.
00:06:08.000 Because a disease that mainly kills people over the age of 70 is still out there and is coming around seasonally, especially since you have no care for it.
00:06:15.000 So what exactly do you expect people to do?
00:06:17.000 People are going to act using their rational minds.
00:06:19.000 In other words, people are going to use their rational self-interest to determine what sort of risk they're willing to undergo.
00:06:26.000 If you have parents who are 80, they're probably not going to go to a ballgame for a while if the variants are still out there.
00:06:30.000 But if you're 30, are you going to go to a ballgame?
00:06:32.000 Probably.
00:06:33.000 Are you going to go shoulder-to-shoulder with someone to an event?
00:06:36.000 Probably.
00:06:37.000 Because you'll get it and you'll be fine in the vast, vast, vast, vast, vast majority of cases.
00:06:42.000 Again, the death rates for people who are between the ages of like 20 and 65, those death rates are a fraction in 1,000.
00:06:48.000 I mean, we're talking about like 3 in 1,000, 4 in 1,000 at the upper end.
00:06:53.000 Because the overall total death rate on this thing is like 5 in 1,000 and that includes people in the upper age brackets where you're talking about like 5 in 100 or 6 in 100 dying from this thing.
00:07:03.000 The IHME, their current forecast assumes there will be an additional 62,000 U.S.
00:07:07.000 deaths and 690,000 global deaths from COVID-19 by June 1st.
00:07:11.000 That model does include assumptions about vaccination rates as well as the transmissibility of South African and Brazilian variants.
00:07:16.000 So here is the point.
00:07:18.000 There will always be new COVID variants out there.
00:07:21.000 There will always be new things that are happening in the world of health.
00:07:26.000 The idea of a top-down government mandate that radically changes individual decision-making, that is unjustified and it is perfectly unjustifiable when the only thing you can say is that there are new risks out there.
00:07:36.000 We know there are new risks out there.
00:07:37.000 It was one thing when you were saying you didn't know what the death rates were on this virus, where you really didn't know if it was the Black Plague.
00:07:42.000 You didn't know if it was going to wipe out entire classrooms of elementary school students.
00:07:46.000 But now we know.
00:07:47.000 We know the vectors of these diseases.
00:07:48.000 We know which populations they tend to hit the hardest.
00:07:50.000 We know how to protect those populations.
00:07:52.000 And we know what people are willing to do in order to shield themselves from risk.
00:07:56.000 People are not going to live life this way.
00:07:58.000 And yet, when states reopen, when they say you need to use your own individual reason, then the left gets very angry because undergirding all of this is a two-fold proposition.
00:08:07.000 Proposition number one is that it is very good for centralized governments to have enormous power over your life because they know better than you.
00:08:14.000 And that is the second proposition.
00:08:15.000 You don't know how to handle your own life.
00:08:16.000 On nearly any Metric you don't need it.
00:08:19.000 You don't know how to handle your your own personal economics That is why we need to remove money from you and then supposedly give it back to you later Even though we won't with Social Security It's why we need to make sure that you're not gonna take care of your own health care We need to provide health care for you.
00:08:31.000 We the centralized government.
00:08:33.000 You don't know how to educate your child We're gonna tell you how to educate your child and you don't know how to avoid death So we are going to force you to wear a mask right that that is the that is the centralizing government rationale behind so much of the debate that is happening right now.
00:08:49.000 I'll give you some stats to show this is the case in just one second.
00:08:52.000 First, let us talk about the fact that you don't want to go to the auto parts store.
00:08:55.000 I mean, first of all, why would you ever want to go to the auto parts store?
00:08:56.000 You stand in line for a really long time.
00:08:58.000 Then you finally get to the front of the line and then ask a bunch of questions you don't know the answer to.
00:09:02.000 Finally, you figure out what part you need.
00:09:03.000 And then they're like, oh yeah, we don't have that.
00:09:04.000 We're going to have to order that online.
00:09:06.000 Well, you could just do it online yourself because the interwebs are great.
00:09:10.000 So why not head on over to rockauto.com?
00:09:13.000 Rockauto.com always offers the lowest prices possible rather than changing prices based on what the market will bear like airlines do.
00:09:19.000 Well, I would choose to spend up to twice as much for the same exact parts.
00:09:23.000 You know, for example, let's say you need a Delphi FG1456 fuel pump assembly for a 2005-2010 Honda Odyssey.
00:09:28.000 I just came up with that off the top of my head.
00:09:30.000 Amazing like that.
00:09:31.000 Well, I'll tell you what, at an auto parts store, it'll cost you like $354.
00:09:34.000 That's the kind of thing you can get at Rock Auto for $217.
00:09:38.000 Which is saving a lot of money.
00:09:39.000 RockAuto.com, it's a family business.
00:09:41.000 They've been serving auto parts customers online for 20 years.
00:09:44.000 Head on over to RockAuto.com shop for auto and body parts from hundreds of manufacturers.
00:09:47.000 And best of all, the prices at RockAuto.com are always reliably low and the same for professionals and do-it-yourselfers.
00:09:52.000 Why would you spend up to twice as much for the same exact parts?
00:09:55.000 They've got amazing selection, reliably low prices, all the parts your car will ever need.
00:09:58.000 RockAuto.com.
00:09:59.000 Head on over to RockAuto.com right now.
00:10:01.000 See all the parts available for your car or truck and write Shapiro in their How Did You Hear About Us box so they know that we sent you.
00:10:06.000 Okay, so.
00:10:08.000 States are handling the COVID variant and COVID situation very differently.
00:10:13.000 New York is now thinking about doing a COVID passport.
00:10:17.000 This would be very much like what Israel has been doing.
00:10:20.000 You need to show that you've actually had the COVID vaccine in order to go into particular public areas.
00:10:24.000 Again, I think this is a bad idea because people are just going to start forging these things.
00:10:27.000 If you want access to something, you're just going to forge.
00:10:30.000 Also, it does create a two A sort of two-level society in which people who have gotten the vaccine are allowed to do things and people who have not gotten the vaccine are not allowed to do things.
00:10:40.000 I will say that it does create the right incentive, which is to go get vaccinated.
00:10:44.000 But what's the cutoff?
00:10:46.000 Is the age cutoff 18?
00:10:47.000 Because, again, if you're 18 years old, you're really not at high risk from COVID-19.
00:10:51.000 The proper solution here is that people, again, should use their own reason, and they should go get the vaccine, and we should be encouraging them socially to get the vaccine.
00:10:59.000 If private businesses want to say, if Madison Square Garden wants to say, listen, you can only come to a basketball game if you get the vaccine, I think that that is perfectly reasonable.
00:11:06.000 For the entire city to be testing out vaccine green cards seems to raise serious liberty concerns.
00:11:12.000 But the big story of the day, really, is that Texas and Mississippi said we're done with our mask mandates.
00:11:16.000 Now, Let me just remind you, there are not mask mandates in some 15 states in the United States.
00:11:23.000 And I'm going to read you those 15 states in the United States.
00:11:25.000 These are the states that do not have a mask mandate.
00:11:27.000 They don't mandate that you have a mask in public places or on public property.
00:11:32.000 Okay, these are the states and I'm also going to give you their death per capita ratio.
00:11:35.000 I'm going to give you where they rank among the 51 U.S.
00:11:39.000 states and Washington, D.C.
00:11:42.000 Where do they rank?
00:11:43.000 Okay, so here is where these states rank.
00:11:44.000 These are the ones without a mask mandate.
00:11:45.000 Now, what you have been told is that a mask mandate is the cure-all.
00:11:48.000 You've heard that the mask mandate is the answer to all of your problems, right?
00:11:53.000 Joe Biden wore a mask and COVID went away.
00:11:54.000 I mean, it was amazing, right?
00:11:55.000 As soon as you put on those masks, it doesn't matter what kind of mask.
00:11:57.000 You can put a sock over your face.
00:11:58.000 You can put a bra over your face.
00:11:59.000 It doesn't matter.
00:12:00.000 All the same.
00:12:01.000 Now, obviously, this was nonsense.
00:12:02.000 Wearing an N95 is much more effective than wearing a sock, right?
00:12:06.000 Wearing a KN95 is much better than a neck gaiter.
00:12:09.000 Wearing these things properly is very important.
00:12:11.000 Not putting your hands all over them.
00:12:12.000 That's very important.
00:12:13.000 But we treated it as though if you put a cloth mask on your face and re-wear it every day, This is going to be the answer to all of your problems.
00:12:21.000 And if the state mandates it, that this is going to radically change things.
00:12:24.000 Now, here's the thing about mandates when it comes to masks.
00:12:27.000 People who want to wear the mask are going to wear it.
00:12:28.000 People who don't want to wear it are not going to wear it.
00:12:30.000 That is the reality of the situation.
00:12:32.000 And as the rates of COVID rise in a particular community, as we have seen from the maps, the rate of mask wearing goes up.
00:12:38.000 In other words, people use their actual, reasonable self-assessment of their risk, and then they make decisions.
00:12:44.000 So, what does that mean?
00:12:46.000 It means that in states with a mandate, a lot of those states did really poorly.
00:12:50.000 New York, number two in death per million ratio.
00:12:53.000 New Jersey, number one in death per million ratio.
00:12:56.000 Here are the states that do not have a mask mandate.
00:12:58.000 And remember, I'm pointing this out because you're going to hear Democrats in one second talk about how it is just the worst thing you could possibly do to remove a state mask mandate.
00:13:05.000 Remember, removing a state mandate to wear a mask is not a ban on wearing a mask.
00:13:09.000 I understand that for the left, there seems to be only two categories.
00:13:13.000 That which is mandatory and that which is banned.
00:13:15.000 Right?
00:13:15.000 Those are the only two categories.
00:13:16.000 There's no third category of stuff you're allowed to do.
00:13:19.000 It's just the stuff you must be forced to do by the government and stuff that you are forced not to do by the government.
00:13:24.000 And this is how people on the left tend to think of the government.
00:13:26.000 The government is there to do the good thing.
00:13:28.000 So, if we want you to wear a mask, we have to force you to wear a mask.
00:13:33.000 And if somebody says that they think that you should have the ability not to wear a mask, that's the same thing as them saying they want you not to wear a mask.
00:13:39.000 Not how this works.
00:13:40.000 If Texas says, we're not going to mandate it, that means exactly what it means, right?
00:13:44.000 Which means they're not going to punish people.
00:13:45.000 They're not going to fine people.
00:13:46.000 They're not going to jail people.
00:13:47.000 They're not going to have a mask mandate on the books.
00:13:49.000 That doesn't mean that you on an individual level can't wear a mask.
00:13:52.000 You can anytime you want.
00:13:53.000 You can decide where to go.
00:13:55.000 You can determine if you don't want to go into a business that has a lot of unmasked people.
00:13:58.000 And we make these sorts of decisions every single day throughout our lives.
00:14:02.000 Do you go, do you drive into a particular area with a high crime rate?
00:14:06.000 Do you go out at a particular time of night when there are fewer people out on the streets?
00:14:13.000 Where do you jog?
00:14:14.000 Where do you send your kids to school?
00:14:16.000 These sort of risk assessments.
00:14:17.000 How fast do you drive?
00:14:18.000 Which route do you take?
00:14:20.000 All of these risk assessments are part of your everyday life.
00:14:22.000 We have evolved to make these risk assessments.
00:14:24.000 Sometimes we make good risk assessments.
00:14:26.000 Sometimes we make bad risk assessments.
00:14:28.000 But the purpose of freedom is so that you can make those risk assessments.
00:14:31.000 According to the left, however, you should not be allowed to do this because you're stupid.
00:14:34.000 So, how have those states without a mask mandate performed?
00:14:38.000 Because if the left is right, what that would mean is that when you don't have a mask mandate, everybody unmasks and then everybody dies.
00:14:44.000 I'm not kidding.
00:14:45.000 This is literally what people on the left are saying.
00:14:47.000 So, for example, Beto O'Rourke.
00:14:50.000 Beto!
00:14:51.000 He's back, bro!
00:14:53.000 Ever since that Texas freeze, Beto, living in this big old house, inheriting lots of money, kickflip, bong, rip, Beto!
00:15:02.000 Better!
00:15:03.000 He says, you know what?
00:15:04.000 If Governor Abbott says that we're allowed to take off the mask, they want to kill us all, bro.
00:15:09.000 Let me tell you something.
00:15:11.000 I don't like that very much.
00:15:12.000 I mean, it's harshing my vibe.
00:15:14.000 Bro go!
00:15:17.000 They literally want to sacrifice the lives of fellow Texans for, I don't know, for political gain, to satisfy certain powerful interests within the state.
00:15:28.000 And this isn't hyperbole.
00:15:29.000 It's hard to escape the conclusion that it's also a cult of death.
00:15:34.000 You have extraordinarily anti-democratic elements.
00:15:37.000 I mean, look at the insurrection on January 6th for any proof.
00:15:42.000 You have anti-government elements literally running the government of the state of Texas.
00:15:48.000 And it almost, I use the phrase failed state because I think when you can't guarantee the electricity, the heat, the running water, the public welfare and safety, you are about there by any classic definition.
00:16:01.000 He's not hyperbole, Brian.
00:16:03.000 It's a cult of death.
00:16:04.000 And let me tell you, I've been out in the desert, man.
00:16:05.000 I've seen some things.
00:16:07.000 I ate some New Mexican dirt, brah, after skateboarding.
00:16:10.000 Let me tell you, my skateboard does not work well on sand.
00:16:13.000 But bro, it's a cult of death.
00:16:15.000 It's like literally human sacrifice.
00:16:17.000 I'm not going to say I've seen human sacrifice, brah.
00:16:20.000 But if I had, it would look exactly like that.
00:16:23.000 It's a failed state, man.
00:16:25.000 By the way, if you think that Texas is a failed state, you might want to visit a failed state one time.
00:16:29.000 Like, the electrical grid broke.
00:16:30.000 That was horrible.
00:16:31.000 People died.
00:16:32.000 It was really, really bad.
00:16:34.000 See, the thing about a failed state is that it never was on, right?
00:16:36.000 The electrical grid goes down and it stays down.
00:16:39.000 People eat dogs in the streets for years on end.
00:16:43.000 You want to talk about privilege?
00:16:44.000 This guy is the definition of privilege.
00:16:46.000 And my goodness, Beto O'Rourke.
00:16:48.000 What a joke he is.
00:16:49.000 But that's the point, right?
00:16:50.000 Is that when he says things like, they want to kill us all, right?
00:16:54.000 If I say to you, you're a free human being.
00:16:56.000 You have the ability to decide for yourself whether you want to wear a mask or whether you don't want to wear a mask.
00:17:01.000 That is me saying that you should go out and kill everybody.
00:17:04.000 It's me saying that I want a cult of death according to Beto O'Rourke.
00:17:08.000 So liberty is a cult of death.
00:17:10.000 You being able to make your own decisions, your own risk assessment.
00:17:12.000 That is a cult of death, complete with human sacrifice and everything.
00:17:18.000 By the way, just a quick note.
00:17:19.000 I do love hearing about human sacrifice from people who are the biggest proponents of abortion on planet Earth.
00:17:23.000 Tell me more about human sacrifice and cults of death.
00:17:26.000 Beto O'Rourke, Captain Planned Parenthood over there.
00:17:29.000 Yeah, but it's not just Beto who's making this case.
00:17:32.000 It's idiots like Michael Moore in the political commentary sphere.
00:17:37.000 So, Michael Moore, who is beginning to look more and more like that guy who plays Tootles in Hook, Josh is babbling.
00:17:44.000 Michael Moore, he tweeted out, Texas, we hear you.
00:17:48.000 You didn't want to be part of our electrical grid.
00:17:50.000 And now you've removed your mask mandate and are allowing large crowds to gather.
00:17:53.000 We hear you.
00:17:54.000 COVID is a hoax, so you don't need our precious vaccine.
00:17:57.000 We'll send it to people who are saving lives by wearing masks.
00:17:59.000 So, a few things here.
00:18:01.000 Your precious vaccine, what did you do?
00:18:03.000 Does he work for the big pharmaceutical companies?
00:18:05.000 I thought he doesn't like those people.
00:18:06.000 Also, under whose administration was the COVID vaccine developed?
00:18:09.000 Oh right, that would have been Trump's.
00:18:11.000 Also, saying that you want people to be able to exercise individual liberty does not mean those people didn't get the vaccine.
00:18:16.000 In fact, one of the chief sort of draws of the vaccine is that after you get the vaccine, you should be able to walk around without a mask.
00:18:22.000 It's a point that Senator Rand Paul's been making since he had COVID.
00:18:24.000 He's saying, I now have immunity.
00:18:26.000 I'm not passing it to anyone.
00:18:27.000 I don't have to wear a mask.
00:18:28.000 He happens to be basically correct about this.
00:18:31.000 But the real underlying animus is for the people of Texas, right?
00:18:35.000 If you have a political viewpoint that cuts toward liberty, you should die, right?
00:18:38.000 That is what Michael Moore is saying right there.
00:18:40.000 And Beto O'Rourke is basically saying the same thing.
00:18:42.000 If you are a person who believes that individuals should make their own decisions about their lives, then this means that you are part of a cult of death who's involved in human sacrifice, because Beto knows what's best for you.
00:18:52.000 Sure, he didn't know enough to beat Ted Cruz in a very competitive Senate race, And sure, he was on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine wearing the exact same outfit he always wears on the campaign trail, saying he was born to run and then he proceeded to lose.
00:19:04.000 Sure, he ends up in the New Mexican desert eating dirt.
00:19:07.000 Not kidding, that's a thing he did.
00:19:09.000 But Beto O'Rourke, that guy, he knows what's best for you.
00:19:13.000 What an incredible human being.
00:19:14.000 Then there's Joe Biden, who knows absolutely what's best for you.
00:19:17.000 I mean, really knows what's best for you.
00:19:20.000 And the way you can tell that Joe Biden knows what's best for you is because he is not a sentient human anymore.
00:19:25.000 Joe Biden is not, he is a, basically, Joe Biden is an inanimate object that occasionally lets words fall out of its face.
00:19:34.000 I'm sorry to tell you this, but Joe Biden is not all that again.
00:19:36.000 The attic is not full.
00:19:39.000 The lights are not all on.
00:19:41.000 The toaster is not plugged in.
00:19:43.000 There's not a lot of wattage going on here.
00:19:45.000 Here is Joe Biden suggesting that Texas and Mississippi, if you remove a mask mandate, remember, Abbott didn't say don't wear a mask anymore.
00:19:53.000 He explicitly said the opposite.
00:19:54.000 He said, if you want to wear a mask, you should wear a mask.
00:19:56.000 If you're worried about the risk, wear a mask.
00:19:58.000 If you don't want to go into an area with a lot of people who are not wearing masks, don't.
00:20:01.000 But Biden thinks, because again, there's a binary logic to people in the Democratic Party.
00:20:06.000 It's either mandatory or it is barred.
00:20:09.000 Those are the only two choices.
00:20:10.000 This means that taking off the mask, it means you're a Neanderthal if you take off the mask.
00:20:14.000 By the way, I don't even know why Joe Biden is wearing masks.
00:20:16.000 He's been vaccinated.
00:20:17.000 Like, seriously, I understand that he thinks that this is somehow, you know, encouraging people to wear masks.
00:20:21.000 The exact same percentages of people are wearing masks as were wearing masks before Biden was president.
00:20:25.000 I've seen no evidence of an uptick in mask wearing since, again, this just demonstrates how dumb the media are.
00:20:30.000 The media were like, well, you know, if we had a president modeling mask wearing, many more people would wear masks.
00:20:34.000 Okay, show me the percentages.
00:20:35.000 Seriously, we know how many people were wearing masks before.
00:20:37.000 Is it higher or lower or the same since Biden became president?
00:20:41.000 In any case, Joe Biden said that they were Neanderthals in Texas and Mississippi.
00:20:46.000 Now, to be fair, Joe Biden does remember the Neanderthals.
00:20:46.000 Neanderthals.
00:20:50.000 The Neanderthals were some of his best friends.
00:20:53.000 He remembers riding a dinosaur.
00:20:54.000 You know, he's a real blue-collar guy, Joe Biden.
00:20:56.000 He would clock in for a day at the rock quarry, and then he would slide down the back of a Brontosaurus and get into his car, and then he would use his actual feet, right?
00:21:03.000 Move those feet so he could get home to Wilma.
00:21:06.000 But here is Joe Biden talking about how everyone who disagrees with him is a Neanderthal.
00:21:11.000 This is Captain Unity over here.
00:21:14.000 I think it's a big mistake.
00:21:15.000 Look, I hope everybody's realized by now these masks make a difference.
00:21:20.000 And the last thing, the last thing we need is the Neanderthal thinking that in the meantime everything's fine, take off your mask, forget it.
00:21:28.000 It still matters.
00:21:30.000 It's critical, critical, critical, critical that they follow the science Wash your hands, hot water, do it frequently, wear a mask, and stay socially distanced.
00:21:45.000 And I know you all know that.
00:21:47.000 I wish the heck some of our elected officials knew it.
00:21:50.000 Okay, by the way, Captain Follow the Science here still hasn't opened up the schools.
00:21:53.000 Captain Follow the Science is responsible for setting up seven federal mass vaccination sites by the end of February.
00:21:58.000 He was aiming for 100.
00:22:00.000 Captain Follow the Science.
00:22:01.000 When I say, by the way, that Joe Biden is not with us, he is not with us.
00:22:04.000 This was Joe Biden yesterday.
00:22:06.000 Thank you.
00:22:08.000 And I'm happy to take questions if that's what I'm supposed to do, Nance.
00:22:11.000 Whatever you want me to do.
00:22:16.000 Nope!
00:22:19.000 If you can't see that, I'm very, very thank you.
00:22:21.000 And Nance, if you want me to take questions, if that's what I'm supposed to do.
00:22:26.000 And then they just run the crowd.
00:22:27.000 But but but but but but but but but but but but but that's all folks.
00:22:30.000 I love the person on the button who's like, well, we can't let the president talk off script, so let's just hit this button and boom, fade to black.
00:22:41.000 Wow.
00:22:42.000 That guy's definitely in control of his own administration.
00:22:44.000 Are they going to let me go to Denny's now for the early bird dinner?
00:22:51.000 Just get that giant, they need the giant cane with the hook at the end.
00:22:54.000 Just pull Joe Biden out of there.
00:22:57.000 But he's calling everybody in Neanderthal.
00:22:58.000 So here are the stats.
00:22:59.000 Here are the stats, okay, on the Neanderthal states that have not had a mask mandate.
00:23:04.000 There are many of these states.
00:23:05.000 I'm going to read to you these states and their ranking in the death per capita.
00:23:09.000 Okay, so here we go.
00:23:10.000 You will see there's a large variance.
00:23:12.000 You ready?
00:23:12.000 Here we go.
00:23:14.000 Alaska is ranked 49th in deaths per million, 49th.
00:23:19.000 Okay, they never had a mask mandate.
00:23:20.000 Arizona, 6th.
00:23:22.000 Right, so you have 49 and 6.
00:23:24.000 No mask mandate.
00:23:25.000 Okay, Florida, 27th.
00:23:27.000 Georgia, 20th.
00:23:28.000 Idaho, 42nd.
00:23:29.000 Iowa, 16th.
00:23:30.000 Mississippi, 5th.
00:23:31.000 Missouri, 29th.
00:23:32.000 Montana, 33rd.
00:23:33.000 Nebraska, 40th.
00:23:34.000 North Dakota, 11th.
00:23:36.000 Oklahoma, 36th.
00:23:36.000 South Carolina, 19th.
00:23:38.000 South Dakota, 8th.
00:23:39.000 And Tennessee, 18th.
00:23:42.000 Okay, so, in other words, all over the map.
00:23:44.000 And in fact, there are more states that are in the bottom half than there are states, I believe, in the top half here.
00:23:49.000 Right?
00:23:50.000 Because you have 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
00:23:54.000 8 of those 15 states are in the bottom half of states by death per million.
00:23:58.000 And yet the idea here is that these are all bad, terrible, no good, very bad states.
00:24:01.000 Right?
00:24:01.000 They're Neanderthals.
00:24:03.000 Because, after all, they don't have mask mandates.
00:24:05.000 If they had mask mandates, presumably they'd all be better off.
00:24:07.000 Except for the fact that there's no evidence that this is particularly the case.
00:24:10.000 There have been mask mandates all over the world.
00:24:12.000 And you know what those mask mandates did in LA?
00:24:14.000 Not much, considering that there was a giant upswing in the fall.
00:24:18.000 A far larger upswing than there was in a state like Florida, which did not have a mask mandate.
00:24:22.000 So what is this really about?
00:24:23.000 What this is really about, as always, is politics and control.
00:24:26.000 Texas and Mississippi have responded to these idiotic comments by Joe Biden and Beto O'Rourke.
00:24:32.000 Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves said President Biden said allowing Mississippians to decide how to protect themselves is Neanderthal thinking.
00:24:38.000 Mississippians don't need handlers.
00:24:40.000 As numbers drop, they can assess their choices and listen to experts.
00:24:42.000 I guess I just think we should trust Americans, not insult them.
00:24:46.000 And then Greg Abbott's spokesperson said, the governor was clear in telling Texans COVID hasn't ended and that all Texans should follow medical advice and safe practices to continue containing COVID.
00:24:55.000 The fact is, Texas now has the tools and knowledge to combat COVID while also allowing Texans and small businesses to make their decisions.
00:25:01.000 It is clear from the recoveries, the vaccinations, the reduced hospitalizations and the safe practices that Texans are using that state mandates are no longer needed.
00:25:08.000 We must now do more to restore livelihood and normalcy for Texans.
00:25:11.000 The governor's focus has been and always will be protecting the lives and livelihoods of Texans.
00:25:16.000 And then later, Abbott tweeted, the Biden administration is recklessly releasing hundreds of illegal immigrants who have COVID into Texas.
00:25:21.000 The Biden administration must immediately end this callous act that exposes Texans and Americans to COVID.
00:25:27.000 So much unity there from Joe Biden.
00:25:30.000 And by the way, they happen to be exactly correct.
00:25:35.000 Americans get to decide for themselves what they wish to do.
00:25:39.000 And that has not changed.
00:25:40.000 There are gonna be areas where there's a lot of COVID hesitancy.
00:25:43.000 And that's okay.
00:25:44.000 If you don't wanna go out, don't go out.
00:25:46.000 But the idea is that if you have government control, you must use it.
00:25:49.000 So Gavin Newsom, for example, he is now pushing back at all of this.
00:25:53.000 He says it's reckless, absolutely reckless.
00:25:55.000 Tell me more about recklessness, Captain French Laundry.
00:25:59.000 Tell me more about reckless.
00:26:00.000 Gavin Newsom, the head of a state, the fifth youngest state in America with the same death per capita rate as Florida, the second oldest state in America.
00:26:06.000 Please tell me more.
00:26:07.000 Gavin Newsom, who's currently, he's so reckless that that dude is now being recalled in a completely blue state.
00:26:11.000 Top to bottom blue state.
00:26:14.000 But it's about something more than that, right?
00:26:17.000 It is about the idea that you are not capable of making your own decisions.
00:26:21.000 Or rather, you're only capable of making your own decisions if you are a particular type of person.
00:26:26.000 If you're not a particular type of person, you're not capable of making your own decisions.
00:26:29.000 So one of the things that is buried in a lot of the ideology here, for Democrats particularly, is a soft bigotry of low expectations.
00:26:36.000 About Americans generally, you're not capable of making your own decisions, but specifically, there is a soft bigotry of low expectations that attends to minority communities in the Democratic Party.
00:26:44.000 Right?
00:26:45.000 The same motivating factor from people like Jamal Bowman of New York, Democrat of New York, who says standardized testing is racist, attends when it comes to vaccines.
00:26:53.000 And we have seen a tremendous amount of vaccine hesitancy, unfortunately, in the Black and Hispanic community.
00:26:58.000 There's a wide differential by race in how people are looking at the vaccine.
00:27:05.000 By poll data, some 59% of white people say they definitely will get the vaccine, and another 20% say they will probably get the vaccine, which means a grand total of 79% of white Americans say they definitely will or probably will get the vaccine.
00:27:21.000 Okay, black America, only 67% of black Americans say they definitely will get the vaccine or probably get the vaccine.
00:27:26.000 And by the way, only 37% say they definitely will get the vaccine, which means that fully 33% of black Americans say they either probably or definitely will not get the vaccine.
00:27:37.000 Compared to only 21% of white people who say they won't get the vaccine.
00:27:40.000 And only 21% of Hispanic people who say they won't get the vaccine.
00:27:42.000 So the black community has tremendous vaccine hesitancy.
00:27:45.000 Okay, that is a real problem.
00:27:49.000 And yet the answer by the left is that that is a shortcoming of government distribution.
00:27:54.000 Okay, that is not correct.
00:27:55.000 If there is differential behavior and differential viewpoints about vaccines, then that is individual behavior.
00:28:01.000 And yet the idea here is that if you are a, that it's only white, I mean, remember that Michael Moore text, right?
00:28:08.000 The Michael Moore tweet was, if you're a Texan, you don't deserve to get the vaccine because you're a COVID denier.
00:28:13.000 He would never say that about people who are literally refusing to get the vaccine.
00:28:16.000 Why?
00:28:17.000 Because for him, the question, there's a soft bigotry that is inherent in leftist thought that suggests that if a white person makes a bad decision, it's I'm a white person, but if a black person makes a bad decision, then it is because the system is racist.
00:28:30.000 That is not correct.
00:28:30.000 We should be encouraging everyone to make good decisions.
00:28:34.000 This is why all of the tomfoolery about the vaccine rollout is a mistake.
00:28:39.000 We should be giving the vaccine to anyone who will take it at any point at this point.
00:28:43.000 There are many, many vaccines out there.
00:28:45.000 Tranching out vaccines based on quote-unquote equity is a foolhardy game.
00:28:50.000 Instead, what we should be doing is making it available to anyone who wants one, and we should be actively encouraging people to get one, not writing op-eds in the New York Times like Charles Blow, talking about why black people are hesitant about vaccines, but encouraging black people to get vaccines, encouraging everybody to go get the vaccine today.
00:29:05.000 And yet again, there is that generalized idea that the government must be in complete control.
00:29:09.000 They must mandate things because you can't take care of yourself.
00:29:13.000 But they'll only talk about a certain type of person who is COVID scared or COVID shy.
00:29:20.000 It's an obvious point and an ugly point, but people on the left will only talk about COVID shyness when it comes to white Americans.
00:29:27.000 They will not talk about COVID shyness when it comes to minority Americans, even though the percentages are greater among minority Americans.
00:29:34.000 I mean, you know who should be being ripped up and down right now?
00:29:37.000 Not Greg Abbott for saying that people should not be forced to wear masks by the centralized government because they are capable of making their own decisions.
00:29:44.000 The people who should be ripped up and down right now are people like Louis Farrakhan, who's literally going out there and telling his millions of followers that the COVID vaccine is a vial of death.
00:29:51.000 Have you seen any media coverage of this?
00:29:54.000 If a major conservative figure who had met with a bunch of members of Congress were out there literally telling people that the COVID vaccine was a vial of death, you know that would be at the front of every single newspaper, right?
00:30:05.000 Conservatives deny vaccine efficacy.
00:30:07.000 And yet here was Louis Farrakhan doing just that.
00:30:10.000 Democratic members of Congress have met with this guy.
00:30:12.000 They continue to meet with this guy.
00:30:14.000 Have you seen a headline about this?
00:30:15.000 Here's Louis Farrakhan, who has many, many followers, talking about how the COVID vaccine is a vial of death.
00:30:20.000 Some of these so-called vaccines.
00:30:27.000 It's the nanoparticles that men like Dr. Fauci have proprietary knowledge of that allows them to get a patent for their vial of death.
00:30:50.000 I mean, how is that not the headline, right?
00:30:53.000 I mean, seriously, that should be the headline.
00:30:55.000 You wanna talk about overcoming COVID?
00:30:58.000 We should be talking about vaccine hesitancy.
00:31:00.000 By the way, encouraged for months by people like Kamala Harris, who literally said that she would not get a vaccine just if Trump told her to.
00:31:05.000 I mean, this sort of stuff has an actual impact.
00:31:11.000 And if you look by race and ethnicity at why people are not getting the vaccine, right, you can see the reasons why people, Aren't getting a vaccine?
00:31:20.000 What you will see is that among black Americans, a disproportionate number of black Americans don't trust the COVID-19 vaccine and a disproportionate number of black Americans are concerned about the side effects and they plan to wait and see whether it is safe.
00:31:35.000 And yet the idea here is that it's a problem with the distribution system.
00:31:38.000 What if it's not a problem with the distribution system?
00:31:41.000 If the reason that the left wants centralized control is because they want control over people, then they really should be clear about why they want control over people.
00:31:51.000 Because right now, they tend to blame the system whenever individual choices are made they don't like from people who are allies of theirs, but they blame the individual people when there are people who they don't like who don't believe like they do, politically speaking.
00:32:04.000 This is ugly stuff.
00:32:06.000 The soft bigotry of law expectations, by the way, completely infuses the Democratic Party at this point.
00:32:10.000 And you wanna talk about Democrat-run cities that have soft bigotry of law expectations?
00:32:14.000 This story came across my desk this morning from Fox Baltimore.
00:32:18.000 A shocking discovery out of a Baltimore City high school where Project Baltimore has found hundreds of students are failing.
00:32:23.000 It's a school where a student who passed three classes in four years, three classes in four years, not three years in four years, three classes in four years, ranks near the top half of his class with a 0.13 grade point average.
00:32:39.000 Tiffany France thought her son would receive his diploma this coming June, but after four years of high school, France just learned her 17-year-old must start over.
00:32:45.000 He's been moved back to ninth grade.
00:32:47.000 He's stressed, and I am too.
00:32:48.000 I told him I'm probably going to start crying.
00:32:49.000 I don't know what to do.
00:32:50.000 France told Project Baltimore.
00:32:52.000 Why would he do three more years in school?
00:32:53.000 He didn't fail.
00:32:54.000 The school failed him.
00:32:54.000 The school failed at their job.
00:32:55.000 He didn't deserve that.
00:32:58.000 France's son attends Augusta Fell's Savage Institute of Visual Arts in West Baltimore.
00:33:02.000 His transcripts show he's passed just three classes in four years, placing him in ninth grade.
00:33:07.000 But she didn't know that until February.
00:33:09.000 She thought her oldest son was doing well because even though he failed most of his classes, they kept promoting him.
00:33:14.000 His transcripts showed he failed Spanish 1 and Algebra 1, was promoted to Spanish 2 and Algebra 2.
00:33:17.000 He failed English 2, was passed on to English 3.
00:33:21.000 In his first three years at Augusta-Fells, the student failed 22 classes and was late or absent on 272 days.
00:33:28.000 In those three years, only one teacher requested a parent conference, which France says never happened.
00:33:32.000 No one from the school told France her son was failing and not going to class.
00:33:36.000 By the way, he's still above half of his class.
00:33:39.000 He's ranked 62nd in his class after passing three classes in a grand total of four years.
00:33:46.000 Half of his classmates, 58 of them, have a 0.13 grade point average or lower.
00:33:51.000 Okay, how is it that this is not considered a great crisis in America?
00:33:56.000 And we're going to focus on woke idiocy about canceling Dr. Seuss, but we're not going to focus on stuff that actually betters people's lives.
00:34:03.000 We're not going to focus on individual responsibility, because here's the thing, individual freedom comes with individual responsibility.
00:34:08.000 We're not even going to focus on true systems of power that degrade the lives of individuals.
00:34:14.000 Nope, we're gonna focus on how we can force you to wear a mask, even though that actually is a risk assessment you yourself should be doing, and who we should blame, namely the people of Texas, who we should not blame, namely people who are political allies of Democrats.
00:34:27.000 People's lives actually matter, and the best way to ensure that people live good lives is to place the individual responsibility that comes with freedom upon them.
00:34:36.000 And yet we have an entire system that is built to do precisely the opposite.
00:34:40.000 Precisely the opposite.
00:34:42.000 And instead, we just keep ripping on the system.
00:34:44.000 Keep ripping on that system and claiming that centralized government is going to be the solution.
00:34:47.000 In just a second, we'll get to the centralized government as solution crowd.
00:34:51.000 The centralized culture as...
00:34:54.000 As the solution crowd.

00:36:05.000 All right, earlier this week, I had the pleasure of discussing on this show minimum wage with Representative Ro Khanna of California.
00:36:11.000 It is always a lot of fun to talk with people on the other side of the aisle, outside of a safe space.
00:36:15.000 Well, here's the thing.
00:36:16.000 Right now, in our current climate, every political issue is a hot-button issue.
00:36:20.000 Minimum wage is one of those issues.
00:36:21.000 And if you need the knowledge to be able to debate minimum wage, to know why the minimum wage and raising the minimum wage is an idiotic economic idea, if you don't feel like going out there and doing the research yourself, I have a solution for you.
00:36:31.000 I break down the myth of the minimum wage and others like it on my new Daily Wire series, Debunked.
00:36:36.000 Every single Friday, we drop a new mini-documentary.
00:36:38.000 Last week, we did one on minimum wage.
00:36:40.000 This week, it is public sector unions.
00:36:42.000 If you want to get the simple facts and logic, I debunked the leftist claims on these issues.
00:36:45.000 Tune on in.
00:36:46.000 Debunked.
00:36:47.000 It's available exclusively and only to Daily Wire members.
00:36:50.000 Head on over to dailywire.com slash subscribe.
00:36:52.000 Use code debunked to get 25% off your new membership.
00:36:55.000 That is promo code debunked.
00:36:56.000 25% off your listening to the largest, fastest growing conservative podcast and radio show in the nation.
00:37:01.000 So, while people on the left want to control your entire life and simultaneously allow people to just fail inside the system, I mean truly fail inside the system because we wouldn't want to require individual responsibility of themselves.
00:37:16.000 See, the thing about failure within the system is that Democrats right now are perpetual revolutionaries.
00:37:21.000 So it just means they should have more power.
00:37:23.000 If somebody fails inside the system, if you have a student in Baltimore who graduates three classes in four years and is still in the top half of his class, well, that means that the system requires more money.
00:37:31.000 They require more control.
00:37:33.000 Not that people should be given more individual responsibility.
00:37:35.000 The opposite.
00:37:36.000 When New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is a garbage bag, that means that he should have had more control.
00:37:41.000 It means the government requires more control.
00:37:43.000 Speaking of which, Andrew Cuomo is currently being essentially forced out of government.
00:37:48.000 They're trying to force him out over the sexual harassment allegations.
00:37:51.000 Now, on the grand scale of sexual harassment allegations, these ones are not the kind of thing that generally get you kicked out of office.
00:37:57.000 The worst thing that he did, the worst allegation against him, is that he called a woman, Lindsey Boylan, up to his office at one point.
00:38:03.000 She went up there and then he kissed her without her permission.
00:38:05.000 That is the grand sum.
00:38:08.000 That is the worst thing he did.
00:38:09.000 Is that a good thing?
00:38:09.000 No, of course that's not a good thing.
00:38:10.000 It's a very bad thing.
00:38:12.000 If he worked for a private corporation, he'd be fired.
00:38:14.000 But he was elected.
00:38:15.000 That is not really an impeachable offense, because it's not, I mean, it would be hard to see that even as a criminal offense.
00:38:21.000 Things that are bad and wrong and ugly aren't necessarily impeachable, as we have found out many, many times in the past.
00:38:27.000 Okay, and Cuomo grabbing people by their face in weird ways, and Cuomo making awkward jokes about eating sausages, right?
00:38:34.000 All that stuff is yucky.
00:38:36.000 It doesn't necessarily mean that that guy cannot be governor of New York anymore, that he has lost his capacity to be governor of New York.
00:38:41.000 What is happening right now is so perfectly obvious.
00:38:44.000 Everyone now realizes that Governor Cuomo was a garbage bag during COVID.
00:38:48.000 He was terrible.
00:38:49.000 His policy was garbage.
00:38:50.000 He got a lot of seniors killed.
00:38:51.000 He lied about it, not only to the press, but to his own party.
00:38:54.000 He lied about it to oversight bodies.
00:38:57.000 And now they're realizing that he's a liability, but they cannot openly acknowledge that he is a liability based on his COVID behavior, because they were cheering on that exact behavior.
00:39:05.000 So instead, they have to find an ancillary reason to dump him under the bus.
00:39:07.000 They have to find another reason to get rid of him.
00:39:11.000 Hopefully a reason where they can report it, the media, and they can report it as something new, so they can say, well, this is new stuff.
00:39:17.000 Of course we never reported this last year, because we just didn't know.
00:39:19.000 Because if it turns out that he gets ousted based on COVID, we all knew how bad he was last year.
00:39:23.000 Okay, so now Cuomo is on the hot seat, and he did a presser yesterday in which he said that he's not going to go.
00:39:30.000 First, he denied inappropriate touching in any way.
00:39:33.000 There is an investigation now going on in the office of Letitia James, the AG of the state, who I'm sure has her eye on the gubernatorial seat.
00:39:39.000 Here's Andrew Cuomo.
00:39:41.000 I never touched anyone inappropriately.
00:39:47.000 I never touched anyone inappropriately.
00:39:53.000 I never knew at the time that I was making anyone feel uncomfortable.
00:40:02.000 I never knew at the time I was making anyone feel uncomfortable.
00:40:10.000 I certainly never ever meant to offend anyone or hurt anyone.
00:40:19.000 Or cause anyone any pain.
00:40:22.000 And then he went on and he talked about how in his culture he likes to touch people's faces and stuff.
00:40:26.000 So I guess he and Joe Biden come from the exact same culture, because Joe Biden also likes to inappropriately touch people.
00:40:30.000 Cuomo then said, I'm not going to resign under any of these circumstances.
00:40:33.000 Again, the reason that Andrew Cuomo is on the chopping block right now has nothing to do with this behavior.
00:40:37.000 Just recognize that this is all a misdirect.
00:40:40.000 It is all a way for the media to escape their own culpability in promoting this douchebag for a full year.
00:40:45.000 Well, old people were dying in nursing homes and he was covering it up.
00:40:48.000 Recognize that right now what we are watching is a sham and a ruse.
00:40:51.000 It is a fake reason for getting rid of Andrew Cuomo.
00:40:53.000 The real reason he should be gotten rid of is because he probably should be prosecuted for covering up what happened in the nursing homes in New York.
00:40:59.000 Anyway, Cuomo says I'm not going to resign.
00:41:00.000 And by the way, for the behavior that's been described, he probably shouldn't resign.
00:41:04.000 Here he is.
00:41:05.000 I'm not going to resign.
00:41:08.000 I work for the people of the state of New York.
00:41:10.000 They elected me, and I'm going to serve the people of the state of New York.
00:41:13.000 And by the way, we have a full plate.
00:41:15.000 We have COVID.
00:41:16.000 We have recovery.
00:41:17.000 We have rebuilding.
00:41:18.000 We have a teetering New York City.
00:41:21.000 We have a terrible financial picture.
00:41:24.000 We have to do vaccines.
00:41:26.000 So, no.
00:41:29.000 I'm going to do the job the people of the state elected me to do.
00:41:34.000 Okay, so he's not leaving.
00:41:36.000 He's telling you he's not going.
00:41:38.000 He's the best man he's ever known.
00:41:39.000 That's a Dreamgirls reference there for you.
00:41:42.000 In any case, New York's Democrats, they're like, well, we would love to throw him under the bus.
00:41:46.000 So Democratic Assemblyman Thomas Abinanti is a Democrat.
00:41:48.000 He said Cuomo should resign.
00:41:50.000 Now, let's be real about this.
00:41:51.000 Again, the reason that he should resign is not the reason they're all citing for him to resign.
00:41:54.000 Here's Abinanti.
00:41:56.000 Earlier today, I called on the governor to resign.
00:42:00.000 I believe that it's important that the governor be above reproach.
00:42:06.000 He has to have the respect necessary to lead New York.
00:42:11.000 I believe the governor is distracted and cannot give his undivided attention to continue safely navigating New Yorkers through the ongoing pandemic.
00:42:20.000 And I think his whole situation is a distraction to the serious conversations necessary to complete an on-time budget.
00:42:28.000 Just a quick note.
00:42:29.000 If this had happened in the middle of last year, everybody would have ignored it.
00:42:33.000 Everybody in the media would have downplayed it.
00:42:34.000 They would have said these allegations are not particularly serious.
00:42:37.000 He has denied the allegations and they all would have moved on.
00:42:39.000 How do we know?
00:42:39.000 Because there were allegations that were made that were much more serious about Joe Biden and the media basically blew them off.
00:42:45.000 So it is all just a matter of how useful these politicians are to them.
00:42:48.000 Andrew Cuomo has lost his usefulness because it has come out now what an incompetent buffoon he is.
00:42:53.000 And not only is he useful, not useful anymore, he is embarrassing to them.
00:42:57.000 And so they have found another reason to get rid of Andrew Cuomo.
00:42:59.000 And yet their answer to all of this is that Andrew Cuomo still was the greatest governor in all of human history when it came to COVID, that we need more centralized control, and that anybody who says that you should use your own brain in determining your risk or how to educate your child for that matter, Or how you ought to raise your child.
00:43:13.000 All of those people are wrong.
00:43:15.000 We need to raise your child for you.
00:43:17.000 We need to mandate things from the top down, because you can't handle it yourself.
00:43:23.000 You just can't.
00:43:24.000 And if you try to handle it yourself, then that means that you're in league with people who want human sacrifice, and who want death, and who want despair.
00:43:32.000 If you trust this bunch of clowns at the top of your government with pretty much anything, I gotta doubt your own sanity at this point.
00:43:38.000 Seriously, these people have been wrong on virtually all of the things.
00:43:42.000 They've given you a bunch of conflicting advice.
00:43:43.000 Every system that they run, with the exception of the military, is a giant fail.
00:43:48.000 And yet there are people who believe the solution to all of this is to give these jackasses more power.
00:43:52.000 It's truly an astonishing thing.
00:43:54.000 And then they believe these people are their moral leaders to boot, which is even more astonishing.
00:43:59.000 If you like freedom, then at a certain point, we should probably stand up for it.
00:44:02.000 And if we have now gotten to the point in the pandemic where we're on the downswing, and where it is perfectly clear that the vaccines are being rolled out at extraordinary rates, and we are not looking at any threat to the hospitalizations and the ICUs, at that point, it seems like freedom should be legal again, should it not?
00:44:18.000 In fact, it never became illegal in the first place.
00:44:21.000 And we should remember this for the future.
00:44:23.000 Now that it should not have taken a year for us to get to the point of saying the exact same thing that Florida said all the way back last summer, which is take your best available precautions and then live your life.
00:44:32.000 Because every day that you live is a day that has been lived.
00:44:36.000 And that day that you have lived is no longer on the record of days going forward available to you.
00:44:40.000 So every day that you spend in lockdown or obeying government edicts on the basis of bad information is a day of which you were robbed.
00:44:48.000 Don't let them rob you of your time.
00:44:49.000 Just don't let them do it.
00:44:52.000 Alrighty, coming up a little bit later, we have an hour more of The Ben Shapiro Show, and coming up soon is The Matt Wall Show.
