The Candice Malcolm Show - No Justin Trudeau, the Freedom Convoy is not a small fringe minority

00:00:00.020 The Freedom Convoy is mainstream, and it is uniting Canadians regardless of what Justin Trudeau or his cheerleaders in the legacy media have to say about it.

00:00:08.360 I'm Candice Malcolm, and this is the Candice Malcolm Show.

00:00:15.080 Hi everyone, thank you so much for tuning into the podcast.

00:00:17.360 Now, I was originally going to talk about something else today.

00:00:19.520 I had a different show planned, I had a different script all planned out.

00:00:22.640 I was going to talk about China, I was going to talk about the Conservatives and Erin O'Toole.

00:00:25.920 But I think that this story is just too important to let go, this Freedom Convoy, Freedom Rally that is going to be happening in Ottawa this weekend is picking up so much steam, it's growing, there's so much momentum, it is so exciting, it is so positive that I want to focus another day of the show on it and give you an update of what is happening and what is going on with this Freedom Convoy.

00:00:45.700 Now, let me just tell you, it is incredibly heartwarming to see this uprising, to see these good-hearted, wonderful Canadian people coming together, the unity, the passion, the belief in a better and more free Canada.

00:00:58.880 Now, the media will continue to mislead you, they'll continue to try to spin and try to tell you a story that just isn't true.

00:01:04.560 They'll say that this is an angry mob, that these people are angry and resentful.

00:01:08.840 They'll say that these working-class truckers are part of some far-right ideology, that this is a political movement, and that they are extreme.

00:01:17.300 But look, this is so far from the truth that it doesn't even sting, it just slides right off, because the accusations are so far from the truth.

00:01:23.660 Anybody paying attention, anybody watching the videos that are being streamed all over social media, the beautiful, uplifting message that's coming from this trucker convoy,

00:01:33.040 they can tell that this isn't an angry movement, this isn't a fringe movement, this is a movement full of hope, full of courage, full of positivity and optimism for our future.

00:01:43.380 These courageous Canadians are speaking for so many of us, and so many people are coming out and rallying around these wonderful people.

00:01:51.180 They are triumphing over evil, over evil policies, and everybody that you see is happy, they're cheerful, they're positive, they're delightful.

00:01:59.960 They're not anything like the caricature that the media is trying to give you about these individuals.

00:02:06.200 Now, just look at the footage for yourself, okay?

00:02:08.360 For me, when I see this footage, it gives me goosebumps to see these proud, good-hearted, well-meaning Canadians,

00:02:15.000 the ones that are driving the trucks, the ones that are supporting the truck drivers,

00:02:18.260 the ones that have reached into their pockets to donate, the ones that have organized.

00:02:21.260 This is an incredibly well-organized, well-put-together event, just the logistics.

00:02:25.240 If you look on their website, you see maps, and you see timetables, and you see everything laid out.

00:02:30.040 You can tell that these truckers are very professional, very organized, and they're putting that organizational skills to use here with this incredible rally.

00:02:38.200 It is just so heartwarming to see the freeways, the cold, frigid winter freeways in Canada filled with people,

00:02:45.020 thousands upon thousands of people with their signs, with their flags, waving the beautiful maple leaf,

00:02:50.620 and cheering on these truckers who are finally doing what we should have all done a long time ago.

00:02:57.160 Now, look, Canadians are nice, we're good-hearted people, we work hard, we play by the rules.

00:03:02.160 In fact, we're nice and we're role-oriented to a fault.

00:03:05.580 For over two years now, for over two years now, I have watched in disbelief,

00:03:10.080 as our governments have amassed more and more power, they've spent more and more money,

00:03:14.060 they've implemented more absurd and contradictory rules, rules that punish children for a disease that hardly impacts them,

00:03:22.260 rules that punish entrepreneurs and business owners and workers, the backbone of our economy, we are being punished.

00:03:28.700 It punishes students, and especially student-athletes, who have one shot, one opportunity to show their skill,

00:03:35.520 prove themselves, have the opportunity to play in an elite level, perhaps get a scholarship.

00:03:38.940 That is all being thrown away, and we're punishing blue-collar workers who don't have the opportunity,

00:03:44.860 don't have the luxury to work from home.

00:03:47.060 All of those people are being punished, and for what?

00:03:49.700 Well, in response, Canadians have sort of just gone along with it.

00:03:53.180 We've listened to the so-called experts, the experts that are so narrowly focused on preventing one health concern

00:03:59.940 while completely being oblivious and turning a blind eye and ignoring incredibly important health concerns

00:04:05.380 that are just not being addressed at all.

00:04:07.180 We continued, though, to do what we were told, we played by the rules, we did everything we were asked,

00:04:12.760 even when the rules ceased to make sense, when the rules ceased to be based on the latest science.

00:04:19.300 Now, I just want to restate this because I think it is so important.

00:04:22.180 I wrote a column over at True North, you can see it, it's pinned to my Twitter profile,

00:04:25.960 it is called Canada Loss of Plot on the Vaccine Mandates,

00:04:28.840 and it's just so important to discuss and dissect,

00:04:31.880 because the entire rationale and the entire purpose of the vaccine mandates has been thrown out the window.

00:04:37.600 It no longer applies.

00:04:38.620 It was wrong to begin with, and it has been proven utterly false,

00:04:41.620 and I think it's so important to walk through that, so I'm going to do that right now.

00:04:44.880 So the purpose of the vaccines, the original purpose, we were told, was to protect us from COVID,

00:04:50.220 and the purpose of the mandates was to encourage people to go out and get the vaccine,

00:04:55.340 not just to protect themselves, but to protect everybody around you.

00:04:58.300 We were told that people who don't get vaccinated were selfish,

00:05:00.960 that they were putting other people at harm, that they potentially would kill people,

00:05:04.500 and that was all based on the idea that getting vaccinated would stop the spread of COVID.

00:05:09.200 That implies both that vaccinated people were the only ones responsible for the spread of COVID,

00:05:14.300 and also that once you were vaccinated, that you could no longer spread the disease,

00:05:17.960 and that you could no longer spread or contract COVID.

00:05:21.400 But that's not true. That's simply not true.

00:05:23.520 It is not true that only the unvaccinated can spread COVID.

00:05:27.580 How many people do you know over Christmas who got COVID,

00:05:30.120 and how many of them were fully vaccinated?

00:05:32.120 I know so many people who are fully vaccinated who still got COVID.

00:05:36.560 In my household alone, I told you that we all got COVID.

00:05:39.720 One person got COVID. They're fully vaccinated.

00:05:42.000 They got it from another person who is fully vaccinated.

00:05:44.620 That person got it from another person who is fully vaccinated,

00:05:47.960 and so on, and so on.

00:05:49.960 Being vaccinated does not stop you from contracting or spreading COVID.

00:05:55.340 Full stop.

00:05:56.400 Vaccines may protect you, but they don't protect those around you,

00:05:59.420 as we were originally told.

00:06:00.600 They do not stop the spread, and this is especially true with Omicron.

00:06:04.380 Omicron has just thrown this all out the window,

00:06:06.740 shown how absurd the policies were,

00:06:08.420 because frankly, we knew this before.

00:06:09.700 We knew this with Delta, but Omicron made it so much more obvious.

00:06:13.620 Omicron doesn't seem to care whether you are vaccinated or not.

00:06:17.100 It doesn't.

00:06:18.460 So look, the facts have changed.

00:06:20.200 The science changed, but our politicians have not changed.

00:06:23.200 They've not adapted.

00:06:24.360 They're continuing to push us down the same line of thinking

00:06:27.620 with the same rationale, the same justification.

00:06:30.960 They're digging in their heels,

00:06:32.160 and they're doubling down on a failed and inaccurate

00:06:35.180 and frankly illiberal policy.

00:06:37.740 This is so worth emphasizing and so worth stressing.

00:06:40.700 They are not in the right.

00:06:41.960 They're not on solid ground.

00:06:43.080 Their entire rationale is built on faulty logic and not science.

00:06:48.160 It is not science, regardless of what Justin Trudeau has to say.

00:06:51.960 Vaccinations do not stop the spread of COVID.

00:06:55.940 Vaccines do not protect anybody,

00:06:57.540 but the person being vaccinated,

00:06:59.500 even that is now being called into question,

00:07:01.640 given how ineffective the vaccines are

00:07:03.720 at stopping people from getting Omicron.

00:07:06.600 Okay, so now that we have that out,

00:07:08.920 the justification for the mandate no longer applies.

00:07:11.600 It was wrong.

00:07:12.600 The rules were based on information that was false,

00:07:14.780 information that has changed,

00:07:16.160 information that no longer holds.

00:07:18.760 So why isn't anybody asking Justin Trudeau about this?

00:07:21.800 Why aren't the journalists questioning him?

00:07:23.660 That is their job after all.

00:07:24.740 Their job is to ask these kind of basic questions

00:07:27.560 to Justin Trudeau.

00:07:28.700 Please explain the rationale behind the mandates.

00:07:31.440 Do you believe that vaccine mandates

00:07:32.840 stop the spread of COVID?

00:07:34.260 Where is science?

00:07:35.500 Where is the evidence that backs that up?

00:07:37.200 Please, anybody.

00:07:38.220 Can anybody ask the prime minister that?

00:07:39.880 No, instead, it is so clear

00:07:41.820 that the legacy media does not work for you.

00:07:44.480 They don't work for the public.

00:07:45.840 Instead, they work for the person

00:07:47.680 that they're asking questions of.

00:07:48.800 They work for prime minister Justin Trudeau.

00:07:51.100 So instead of asking the most obvious

00:07:52.720 and important questions,

00:07:54.120 instead, they parrot his divisive talking points.

00:07:57.660 They pretend that the freedom convoy

00:07:59.600 is filled with dangerous extremists

00:08:02.040 who are coming to Ottawa to what?

00:08:03.980 Inflict violence and spread this disease.

00:08:06.560 They echo Justin Trudeau's delusional thinking.

00:08:09.360 So this is what Justin Trudeau had to say

00:08:11.860 about the freedom convoy.

00:08:13.540 This is what he thinks about you,

00:08:14.920 and this is how little he thinks about these issues.

00:08:17.160 The small fringe minority

00:08:20.580 of people who are on their way to Ottawa

00:08:24.300 or who are holding unacceptable views

00:08:28.460 that they're expressing

00:08:30.020 do not represent the views of Canadians

00:08:35.220 who have been there for each other,

00:08:37.820 who know that following the science

00:08:40.520 and stepping up to protect each other

00:08:43.520 is the best way to continue to ensure

00:08:46.460 our freedoms, our rights, our values as a country.

00:08:49.580 So first he says your views are unacceptable,

00:08:53.120 simply unacceptable.

00:08:53.860 He doesn't explain how or why.

00:08:55.360 He doesn't explain why he continues

00:08:57.140 to think the vaccine mandates work,

00:08:58.760 even though they clearly don't.

00:09:00.020 And he just writes you off.

00:09:01.160 He says that you are a small fringe minority,

00:09:03.520 hardly even worth his time.

00:09:05.280 He thinks that you are a nobody.

00:09:07.000 He thinks that you're minuscule.

00:09:08.360 He thinks that you are unimportant.

00:09:10.440 Somebody who doesn't even deserve

00:09:12.160 the basic charter rights

00:09:13.780 supposedly guaranteed to all people in the country.

00:09:15.920 Well, right on cue,

00:09:17.300 his loyal band of journalists

00:09:18.540 have jumped right in,

00:09:19.720 doing everything in their power

00:09:20.920 to delegitimize this powerful and growing movement.

00:09:24.660 They echo these claims. 0.76

00:09:25.820 They say that you're fringe.

00:09:27.040 They say that you are far right.

00:09:29.320 They even call you racist.

00:09:30.960 And believe it or not, 0.58

00:09:32.020 they are even calling you terrorist.

00:09:34.640 Yes, they even found some expert

00:09:36.140 to tell Canadians not to donate to this cause

00:09:38.880 because it is akin to funding domestic terrorism

00:09:42.240 and that you could be charged

00:09:43.560 if you fund this group. 0.98

00:09:45.440 How absolutely ridiculous. 0.98

00:09:48.040 Terrorists, they're calling you terrorists. 0.99

00:09:49.780 They're calling the blue collar heroes,

00:09:52.040 the courageous people

00:09:53.240 who are saying enough is enough,

00:09:54.680 standing up and speaking for all Canadians

00:09:56.560 and the media look down their nose

00:09:58.260 and have the gall to call you a terrorist.

00:10:00.940 It's unbelievable.

00:10:02.480 All for the crime of standing up

00:10:04.380 to government overreach.

00:10:05.860 All for the crime of saying enough is enough

00:10:07.560 and using a charter protected right

00:10:10.740 to peaceful protest.

00:10:12.500 Well, that's too much for the legacy media

00:10:14.380 and they are busy trying to delegitimize you

00:10:16.680 at any chance they get.

00:10:18.340 Well, the great Theo Fleury,

00:10:19.940 an NHL superstar, Stanley Cup champion,

00:10:22.440 a two-time Olympic gold medalist,

00:10:24.620 just an incredible person all around.

00:10:26.540 He went on Fox News

00:10:27.560 and he described it perfectly.

00:10:29.060 I love what Theo Fleury has to say here.

00:10:30.720 So I'm going to play this clip.

00:10:32.320 Here he is with Laura Ingraham over on Fox News

00:10:34.480 saying it beautifully.

00:10:35.880 Basically, for the last two years,

00:10:37.480 we've had a prime minister

00:10:38.760 who has vaccine derangement syndrome

00:10:43.140 where every day he stands up at the stump

00:10:46.340 and that's all he talks about.

00:10:47.460 He doesn't talk about the economy.

00:10:49.360 He doesn't talk about the supply chain.

00:10:51.080 He doesn't talk about, you know,

00:10:52.920 us losing our rights, lockdowns, nothing.

00:10:56.160 It's just straight vaccines.

00:10:58.880 But what's happening, Laura,

00:11:00.700 is right now in Canada,

00:11:02.380 we have one of the biggest revolutions happening

00:11:05.360 and you probably haven't heard about it

00:11:07.380 because nobody's talking about it.

00:11:09.640 But right now there's 50,000 truckers

00:11:13.280 and about 1.4 million people

00:11:15.860 headed to the parliament in Ottawa

00:11:19.180 and they're going to stay there

00:11:21.340 until Trudeau resigns

00:11:24.000 or they give us back all of our freedoms and rights.

00:11:27.880 You know, when you separate people,

00:11:29.140 it's easy to, you know,

00:11:30.720 to create power through separation.

00:11:33.860 But like I said,

00:11:35.140 what we're seeing in the country right now

00:11:36.900 with these truckers

00:11:38.600 and honestly, it has ignited

00:11:41.120 the whole entire country of Canada.

00:11:45.840 Even I, you know,

00:11:48.120 big tough hockey player,

00:11:49.600 have, you know, shed a few tears

00:11:51.860 because I haven't seen my country

00:11:54.840 this behind something

00:11:57.660 and this excited about something

00:11:59.840 in a very, very, very long time.

00:12:02.260 So, so hopefully, you know, something.

00:12:05.320 Theo, it takes a lot

00:12:06.520 to get the Canadians angry.

00:12:08.520 I mean, it's like Minnesota nice.

00:12:10.320 And if Minnesota is nice,

00:12:11.740 Canada is like jubilant all the time

00:12:15.140 because they just,

00:12:15.800 that's not a,

00:12:16.380 it's not a protest culture in Canada.

00:12:18.040 Right. Well, that's the thing is

00:12:20.820 in Canada, you know,

00:12:21.980 we're considered really nice

00:12:23.400 and all these things.

00:12:25.120 But the thing about Canadians 1.00

00:12:26.440 is eventually, you know,

00:12:28.220 our fuse, our long, long fuse

00:12:30.840 burns out.

00:12:33.820 And that's where we are in the country.

00:12:35.220 And this is a warning to Americans

00:12:36.760 who are sitting by idly,

00:12:39.360 who say, I can't fight.

00:12:40.560 I'm too scared.

00:12:41.580 Your message to them is

00:12:43.140 you have no other choice

00:12:44.560 but to stand and speak the truth on this.

00:12:46.720 And we really appreciate your voice.

00:12:48.380 And we wish all the truckers,

00:12:50.100 everyone supporting them

00:12:51.100 on this supply chain issue

00:12:52.320 and all the rest,

00:12:53.440 the best of luck.

00:12:54.220 Thank you.

00:12:54.720 It is a revolution.

00:12:55.740 And look, this is right.

00:12:56.960 Canadians went along for long enough.

00:12:58.580 We went along for too long.

00:12:59.680 We were complacent

00:13:00.540 and rule abiding for too long.

00:13:02.220 We're complacent

00:13:02.860 and rule abiding to a fault.

00:13:04.420 And we have finally hit

00:13:05.900 our breaking point.

00:13:06.740 As Theo Fleury correctly described it,

00:13:09.000 Canadians have a very long fuse.

00:13:11.020 And that's what we've seen

00:13:11.660 over the last two years.

00:13:12.500 We've seen that very, very long fuse.

00:13:14.440 But once you hit a breaking point,

00:13:15.840 once that fuse finally blows,

00:13:17.980 well, watch out.

00:13:19.100 Watch out.

00:13:19.780 I love that.

00:13:20.600 And I love that we are seeing

00:13:21.580 us all play out in real time.

00:13:23.420 We're no longer docile.

00:13:24.480 We're no longer a complacent country.

00:13:26.080 We are coming together.

00:13:27.300 We are uniting behind

00:13:28.640 the positivity of this movement,

00:13:30.460 the hope, the courage,

00:13:32.040 the ideals of this country,

00:13:33.660 the ideals of freedom,

00:13:35.880 opportunity,

00:13:37.080 the restrictions of government,

00:13:38.560 the idea of community.

00:13:39.400 We're all coming together.

00:13:40.280 And we are demanding

00:13:41.420 that our voice be heard,

00:13:42.720 regardless of how much elites

00:13:43.960 like Justin Trudeau

00:13:44.800 and his friends in the media

00:13:45.860 want to write you off, 0.95

00:13:46.980 the people are coming together

00:13:47.940 and they are saying,

00:13:48.600 no, you must take us seriously.

00:13:50.300 Just by sheer number,

00:13:51.760 by sheer number of people

00:13:52.860 who are coming to Ottawa,

00:13:54.200 who are going to be

00:13:54.880 on Parliament Hill,

00:13:55.840 using their peaceful voice,

00:13:57.160 using the right

00:13:57.900 to a peaceful protest,

00:14:00.180 the elites are going

00:14:01.180 to have to listen.

00:14:01.960 They're going to have to listen.

00:14:02.900 They're going to have to have

00:14:03.860 a day of reckoning.

00:14:04.960 It is coming.

00:14:05.740 It is two days away, folks.

00:14:07.220 Saturday.

00:14:07.980 I cannot wait.

00:14:08.820 So it doesn't matter

00:14:09.840 what our unhinged 0.91

00:14:10.980 prime minister has to say. 0.90

00:14:12.140 It doesn't matter

00:14:12.800 what his irrelevant cheerleaders

00:14:14.400 in the media have to say

00:14:15.440 because nobody is listening to them.

00:14:17.980 People are getting their news

00:14:19.160 straight from the source.

00:14:20.140 They're getting their message

00:14:20.820 straight from social media.

00:14:22.640 The Freedom Convoy, again,

00:14:23.980 they continue to grow.

00:14:25.000 They're incredibly well organized,

00:14:26.780 incredibly well funded,

00:14:27.740 thanks to all of the good people

00:14:29.080 who reached into their pocket,

00:14:30.940 donated what they could

00:14:32.020 to support these blue-collar heroes.

00:14:34.620 And the points that they're making,

00:14:36.020 they're eminently reasonable.

00:14:37.420 They're eminently reasonable

00:14:38.280 and they're eminently true.

00:14:39.540 And so we see this beautiful,

00:14:41.920 well-coordinated issue.

00:14:43.460 The images that they're putting out there

00:14:44.920 are so positive, so hopeful.

00:14:46.740 Again, beautiful.

00:14:47.980 It brings a tear to your eye

00:14:48.760 to see people out in the highways

00:14:50.960 waving those Canadian flags,

00:14:53.040 cheering on the truckers,

00:14:54.080 the signs, the hope,

00:14:55.660 just the positivity.

00:14:57.440 Again, it's so overwhelming.

00:14:58.600 It is so beautiful to see.

00:15:00.680 Just go on over to their Facebook page

00:15:02.680 or their Instagram page,

00:15:04.160 Freedom Convoy 2022.

00:15:06.000 Do what you can.

00:15:07.200 Reach into your pocket

00:15:08.000 and support these people.

00:15:09.820 Don't listen to the nonsense 0.99

00:15:11.880 and the complete insanity 0.95

00:15:13.060 over in the legacy media

00:15:14.460 who try to tell you

00:15:15.420 that these are terrorists

00:15:16.280 and that somehow

00:15:16.900 you could get charged

00:15:18.240 for funding terrorists. 1.00

00:15:19.340 And that is one of the stupidest things 1.00

00:15:20.660 I've ever heard in my entire life. 1.00

00:15:22.820 And it is absolutely nonsense.

00:15:24.580 God bless these truckers.

00:15:25.780 God bless everyone

00:15:26.560 who is supporting them.

00:15:27.440 We Canadians are finally coming together

00:15:29.400 and it is so good to see.

00:15:31.160 And we here at True North

00:15:31.940 will be giving you

00:15:32.680 wall-to-wall-to-wall coverage

00:15:34.920 all weekend long.

00:15:36.240 Here's to freedom

00:15:37.400 and hopefully here's

00:15:38.440 to getting our lives back.

00:15:39.620 I'm Candice Malcolm

00:15:40.160 and this is
