Justin Trudeau goes surfing on Truth and Reconciliation Day, the Conservatives in Alberta are acting like liberals,
00:00:05.480
and the CBC gets smacked down in an epic interview with lawyer Mary Hennon.
00:00:09.940
It's Fake News Friday, I'm Candice Malcolm, and this is The Candice Malcolm Show.
00:00:17.840
Hi everyone, thank you so much for tuning in to the program.
00:00:20.440
It's Friday, which means that we do Fake News Friday.
00:00:22.700
This is my favorite show of the week because we get an opportunity to focus in on media malfeasance in this country,
00:00:30.120
the various ways that the media misrepresent the truth, that they lie to you, that they create fake narratives,
00:00:34.980
and they basically either just get stories wrong because they're incompetent or because they are malicious.
00:00:39.980
So the first thing I want to talk about is how Justin Trudeau spent the day yesterday in Tofino on a personal vacation with his family.
00:00:48.140
Justin Trudeau just spent the entire election reminding us that he is the politician that cares the most,
00:00:53.440
that he is the one that is best suited to address this issue of reconciliation with Canada's First Nations people,
00:01:00.320
that he is the one that is making the most progress, and that he's the one to continue to guide us on this front.
00:01:07.000
We heard this so much after the unmarked graves that were allegedly discovered on various First Nations reserves
00:01:13.740
Trudeau cares the most, he is, you know, he flew out to Quesas in Saskatchewan as soon as that story broke
00:01:20.620
so that he could be there doing a photo op, you know, showing remorse and contrition,
00:01:26.580
and this is really his brand that he cares the most, except for the fact that his record is pretty much the complete opposite.
00:01:33.660
He came into office on a promise that he would end these water boil advisories on First Nations reserves,
00:01:41.100
He took a bunch of First Nations kids to court because he didn't want to pay them out despite a ruling against him.
00:01:47.220
And really, this is no surprise, that rather than spending Canada's First Truth and Reconciliation Day
00:01:52.140
doing something to promote the relationship, to address the many, many problems that exist in First Nations community,
00:01:57.920
to really make an effort to try to improve opportunity and prosperity and freedom
00:02:06.080
Justin Trudeau just selfishly went off on a personal vacation to Tofino,
00:02:11.220
So the Prime Minister's official itinerary from the Prime Minister's office, here it is,
00:02:14.740
Prime Minister's itinerary for Thursday, September 30th, 2021,
00:02:17.800
that he's going to be in Ottawa all day in private meetings.
00:02:20.840
So why is it that on the First Reconciliation Day that his government was the one that introduced and passed,
00:02:26.860
Why wouldn't he go out to Kamloops and be part of that community's ceremony?
00:02:37.580
Well, it took a reporter from The Toronto Sun, my colleague Brian Pusifimi,
00:02:45.480
How is Canada's Prime Minister spending our first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation?
00:02:51.740
And Brian, well, this is something that he's become known for.
00:02:54.920
He tracks and follows the Prime Minister's personal jet, the challenger,
00:02:58.420
and sees where it goes in order to understand what the Prime Minister is doing and where he's going.
00:03:02.740
And here he uncovered that the Prime Minister was actually going to Tofino.
00:03:06.760
So my question is this, and this is why I included it in Fake News Friday,
00:03:10.120
is why did it take a reporter from The Toronto Sun?
00:03:12.720
The Toronto Sun is sort of a small, scrappy, conservative paper that the legacy media,
00:03:16.760
and the mainstream media hate, why did it take a reporter from The Toronto Sun
00:03:20.100
to do something that the Parliamentary Press Gallery should have done?
00:03:23.220
The whole idea of having a Parliamentary Press Gallery,
00:03:26.320
having all these reporters in Ottawa, supposedly, is that they are in the know,
00:03:30.760
they're connected, they have their ear to the ground,
00:03:33.120
they're the ones that know what's going on within the Prime Minister's office,
00:03:36.480
within the sort of inner circles and upper halls of power in the country.
00:03:40.480
So why didn't anyone from the Parliamentary Press Gallery break the story?
00:03:43.860
You have to ask yourself that, because there's basically two reasons why.
00:03:47.720
Either they are very incompetent at their jobs and they just had no idea
00:03:51.840
and they're not doing what they're supposed to be doing,
00:03:54.180
they're not really as tuned in and connected as they want you to believe,
00:04:01.320
They knew that the Prime Minister was taking a personal day,
00:04:03.500
they knew that he was taking some time with his family,
00:04:06.040
taking some time on the West Coast to just get away from it all,
00:04:08.800
but they didn't think that the public deserved to know.
00:04:11.280
So either they're incompetent or they're in cahoots with the Trudeau Liberals.
00:04:17.860
You can make up your own mind about which one you think it is,
00:04:21.000
but good for Brian for breaking this story wide open.
00:04:23.960
And it goes from bad to worse, because the Prime Minister's office
00:04:29.140
they were lying when they said that he was in Ottawa.
00:04:32.800
because they quietly updated his itinerary for Thursday, September 30th.
00:04:36.780
Here is what it looked like later in the afternoon.
00:04:39.240
He's actually in Tofino, British Columbia in private meetings,
00:04:57.820
And a spokesperson for the Prime Minister's office
00:05:17.380
that, yes, the Prime Minister is in Tofino with his family
00:05:23.820
So again, not so big on that whole leadership thing.
00:05:27.100
You know, the Prime Minister is leading a country
00:05:28.820
through a very difficult time in dealing with reconciliation
00:05:38.740
he's just off on the beach hanging out with his family.
00:05:50.980
I know it's happened a few times to us at True North,
00:05:53.040
partially because usually liberals and liberal governments
00:06:02.720
because they won't let us report or they won't let us in.
00:06:04.960
This is one of those that's just sort of tangentially
00:06:09.060
because of the way that a government is treating us.
00:06:34.840
making it seem like it's this huge disaster war zone,
00:06:37.920
and really just exaggerating it out of control,
00:06:41.760
The legacy media is doing their best work in overtime,
00:06:44.720
trying to make Kenney and the UCP government look bad.
00:06:49.920
Dr. Dina Henshaw talks about one of the policies
00:06:56.620
talking about how you don't necessarily have to have
00:06:59.520
a positive COVID test to get included into these numbers.
00:07:08.820
and the concern that so many people out there have,
00:07:17.200
getting tired of the lockdowns and the mandates
00:07:23.600
of both overzealous health officials and politicians.
00:07:27.520
And one of the things that people are mistrustful of
00:08:00.060
So this is the way that Global News Edmonton clipped it.
00:08:02.240
It wasn't the way that some independent journalist
00:08:07.980
This is the way the mainstream media was clipping it.
00:08:20.960
If individuals choose to not get tested for COVID
00:08:35.260
to be a part of identifying where there is an issue.
00:08:51.840
And that is why this video took on a life of its own.
00:08:53.980
Like I said, it started getting picked up by influencers,
00:09:09.660
the exact same one that was clipped by Global Edmonton.
00:09:37.600
And you can see they screenshotted Ezra Levant,
00:09:52.020
And you can't see with the way that they screenshotted it,
00:09:56.500
You can see that we only had 728 views at that point.
00:10:02.440
if you're a comps person working for a political office
00:10:26.120
to see for themselves what Dr. Dina Hinshaw had said.
00:11:04.240
who are the ones that originally posted that clip.
00:11:36.900
She wasn't broadly talking about all of Alberta.
00:11:56.660
Dina Henshaw was talking about school closures,
00:12:24.100
saying that a Canadian health official's remarks
00:12:42.120
Now, do you remember during the election campaign,
