00:09:55.000I don't think that's the case, but it could be, we should say, it could be 11 that want to go for guilt and one that wants to acquit.

00:10:11.000So, when you're sort of wondering out there, kind of as I've done a couple of times, like when we get these trials that kind of captivate the nation and everybody's focused on them, you know, through the years, you get one of these every so often, right?
00:10:25.000I think we actually probably get more of these than you think.
00:11:51.000Sadly, tragically, parents in a custody dispute who decide to just turn their kids into a weapon against the other by killing them or ending them.
00:12:00.000Well, that part feels connected because Lindsey Clancy apparently didn't want her children to live without her.
00:12:06.000So she took them out first and then threw herself off.
00:12:23.000It was around 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon when officers responded to a call for help.
00:12:28.000First responders arrived in the block of Brookstone Court to find an unresponsive child in a home there.
00:12:34.000This neighbor, who did not want to be on camera, noticed the commotion and says investigators had been at the usually quiet cul de sac well into the night.
00:12:42.000Investigators say officers arrived and performed CPR on the two year old child who was taken to the hospital and later died.
00:12:48.000Police say the child's mother was found trying to hurt herself and was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
00:12:56.000Okay, so here's why I think this is important.
00:12:59.000And we're gonna, we're watching the one hour appeal before declaring a mistrial.
00:13:05.000I happen to think it's gonna be a mistrial, which, if we're right, it's 11 to 1 to acquit.
00:13:10.000This might be actually the best option available because, you know, and Jonathan Turley, who is a very smart guy, and he kind of gets this.
00:13:21.000He said, you know, if you're gonna retry this case, you might avoid doing murder one because that tends to be the highest threshold, sucks all the oxygen out of the room.
00:13:31.000Do you believe that the prosecution might try this differently?
00:13:34.000Do you think that they may change the charges?
00:13:36.000Do you think they may do anything that might give them a better chance of perhaps convincing a jury of their argument?
00:13:44.000Oh, I think that they should certainly look at this.
00:13:46.000If it is an 11 to 1 jury, they missed by a considerable margin.
00:13:54.000There's no way that they're likely to secure a Murder One verdict.
00:14:00.000But it also creates a very high cliff leading into these other counts.
00:14:05.000Prosecutors often overcharge in these cases.
00:14:08.000And a murder one charge, I can tell you as a criminal defense attorney, tends to work in favor of the criminal defense because it is such a high standard, sort of sucks the oxygen out of the room.
00:14:27.000So this case is now going to be retried.
00:14:31.000But as he said, they might have to rework it because I don't think it feels unlikely to me the state will try to bring a full murder charge again if they took 12 people and 11 of them were votes to acquit.
00:14:45.000And that's before this case blew up to be the biggest national thing where it's going to be impossible to select a jury that wasn't really following this, I suspect, where it's even more likely that some people might have a politically influenced attitude on the case.
00:15:54.000And my wife has been an interesting lens into the female psyche during this Lindsey Clancy trial.
00:16:01.000And she's been taken aback by many of her friends from high school or, you know, that she's been in touch with or communicating that are feeling this way about their own lives.
00:16:12.000And there is this malaise, this, I think it's an oppressive spirit.0.60
00:16:17.000Candidly, that women across the country are feeling, especially moms, and it's sick.

00:20:44.000But that was essentially just to say, yeah, you know, now we are at a time of unprecedented strength for the Republicans in this country.
00:20:51.000We have never racked up so many victories and put the left on such a back foot.
00:20:56.000It's unclear to me why now we should be calling for unity with the people who a year ago were celebrating the assassination of one of our most effective operators.
00:21:04.000So that is language of strength, or excuse me, that is language of weakness.
00:21:07.000You know, if we were in a position where we were really weak, we would be having to beg the left for unity, beg them to just have conversations with us or something.
00:21:15.000Now we don't really need to do that because we understand the threat that these people obviously pose to our civilization.
00:21:21.000And we understand that they have no intention of unifying with us.
00:21:23.000And so finally, for the first time perhaps in our lives, we are in a position where we get to say, okay, fine, you don't want unity, whatever.

00:21:32.000And what's so interesting too is so many of these people who are promoting this idea of some kind of left right alliance.
00:21:37.000If you recall, three years ago, these people like Marjorie Taylor Greene were forwarding this idea of the national divorce, which is to say, we have such irreconcilable differences between the left and the right that we literally have to split the country apart.
00:21:50.000Now, apparently, in the past few years, as we've seen, Indictments, mugshots, assassinations.
00:21:55.000It's been made clear to her that we actually can unify with the left.0.71

00:31:21.000I'm saying that in order to enact change, we need stable, committed, virtuous people.
00:32:00.000They'll regurgitate the lie that's been debunked, but they keep moving on to a new one and they keep coming up with new lies to just parrot and keep stringing people along.

00:32:38.000And the fruit of a fractured, chaotic movement where everybody's backbiting and infighting, and we're spiraling into these purity test moments, which Charlie never did.

00:54:50.000It's tough to say, but I feel like the best answer for conservatives might be.

00:55:06.000Trump understands leverage better than basically any president we've ever had, right?
00:55:10.000And he understands that, according to some estimates, Canadian trade into the U.S. accounts for over 20% of the GDP.
00:55:19.000Recent estimates have it 20 to 23% of the economy of Canada.
00:55:24.000In the reverse, Canadian goods account for 3% of the US GDP.
00:55:29.000So, a much smaller slice of a much bigger pie.
00:55:33.000And so, the leverage game, Trump knows he's got leverage.
00:55:37.000And if you guys are going to go toe to toe with us in a trade war, we're going to ultimately win.
00:56:27.000But this sits on top of an earlier Section 232 tariffs.
00:56:30.000Of 50% on steel, aluminum, copper, auto parts, lumber.
00:56:34.000I'm not actually even sure if it is great leverage because I think he would have had, I think a lot of our trade negotiations would have gone better if we had a conservative in office, which it seemed like we were headed for.
00:56:44.000But he likes the idea of expanding the map.
00:56:48.000I think sometimes Trump just does stuff.
00:56:50.000You made an interesting observation, though, in the break.
00:56:53.000And what's interesting about Canada is the left wing is defined much more by its nationalism than the conservatives.
00:57:00.000And so maybe there's an answer in that.
00:57:02.000The conservatives need to sort of establish their own national kind of nationalistic movement, right?
00:57:09.000Because the conservatives in Canada often relate to Americans more.
00:57:13.000But maybe there just needs to be sort of more of an established, like, hey, we have a proud conservative Canadian identity and it is distinctly Canadian and we're proud of it.
00:57:23.000You know, so maybe there's something there.
00:57:24.000Yeah, it's, as we said, the left in Canada defines itself in relation to the US, like the US, but more liberal.
00:57:31.000The right is usually more pro America, but you might need like a lingo that can essentially say, Actually, yeah, the Canadian left, everything revolves around U.S. news, U.S. politics.
