00:00:08.000 Hey, everybody, got a real treat for you today on the Charlie Kirk show, Leo Terrell.
00:00:12.000 Look, I've known Leo for a couple years.
00:00:14.000 We used to be screaming at each other on Fox News.
00:00:17.000 He'd have the wackiest Democrat position you could possibly imagine.
00:00:21.000 He used to go up against Candace Owens, and he was pretty intense.
00:00:25.000 I could tell you, he was a street fighter, civil rights attorney.
00:00:28.000 And guess what?
00:00:29.000 Lifelong Democrat, newfound, enthusiastic.
00:00:32.000 And when I say enthusiastic, I mean 10 out of 10 energy supporter for Donald Trump.
00:00:37.000 That's right.
00:00:38.000 He says that the Democrat Party left him.
00:00:40.000 He is all in.
00:00:41.000 He talks about why black people are going to support the president, what Republicans can do.
00:00:46.000 One of my favorite interviews I've done in quite a while.

00:01:40.000 Buckle up, everybody.
00:01:41.000 Here we go.
00:01:43.000 Charlie, what you've done is incredible here.
00:01:45.000 Maybe Charlie Kirk is on the college campus.
00:01:47.000 I want you to know we are lucky to have Charlie Kirk.
00:01:50.000 Charlie Kirk's running the White House, folks.
00:01:53.000 I want to thank Charlie.
00:01:54.000 He's an incredible guy.
00:01:55.000 His spirit, his love of this country, he's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created.
00:02:02.000 Turning point USA.
00:02:04.000 We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country.
00:02:13.000 That's why we are here.
00:02:15.000 Hey, everybody.
00:02:16.000 Welcome to this episode of the Charlie Kirk Show.
00:02:18.000 I am super thrilled to be joined today by Leo Terrell, civil rights attorney, talk radio show host, and a lifelong Democrat who will be voting for Donald Trump.
00:02:28.000 Leo, welcome to the Charlie Kirk Show.
00:02:30.000 We used to be screaming at each other on TV.
00:02:32.000 Charlie, I remember those.
00:02:33.000 First of all, thank you for inviting me.
00:02:35.000 I remember those old days very well.
00:02:38.000 I'm glad they're part of my past.
00:02:41.000 I'm Leo Terrell 2.0, Charlie.
00:02:43.000 I love it.
00:02:44.000 You are so articulate on television.
00:02:46.000 You have a great way about you.
00:02:48.000 Tell us, you lifelong Democrat, no longer, what happened?
00:02:53.000 What changed?
00:02:54.000 Charlie, it's very simple because, you know, I have been a lifelong Democrat, civil rights attorney.
00:02:59.000 I've been on the left all my life.
00:03:02.000 This year, Charlie, two major events.
00:03:05.000 Joe Biden going on national radio, telling every black American, if you don't vote Democrat, you ain't black.
00:03:12.000 Charlie, I'm a civil rights attorney.
00:03:14.000 That insulted me.
00:03:15.000 That was a plantation mentality that we have to do what he tells us what to do.
00:03:21.000 And I found that very, very insulting.
00:03:24.000 Number two, I believe in law enforcement.
00:03:27.000 I thought Democrats believe in law enforcement.
00:03:29.000 All of a sudden, the Democrats have abandoned law enforcement.
00:03:33.000 98% of law enforcement officers are great.
00:03:37.000 There's one or 2% we need to get rid of.
00:03:40.000 My sister's involved in law enforcement.
00:03:42.000 So the bottom line, those two events, abandoning law enforcement and the mentality that all blacks have to vote Democrat, made me leave the Democratic Party.
00:03:52.000 And I'm very happy to be voting for Donald Trump.
00:03:55.000 It's amazing.
00:03:56.000 And I agree completely.
00:03:57.000 And in some ways, there's this very interesting realignment where I'm a conservative and you have been a Democrat for years, but in a lot of ways, the Democrat Party left you.
00:04:09.000 You didn't really change many of your perspectives.
00:04:11.000 Would you agree with that?
00:04:12.000 Oh, Charlie, people, you're absolutely correct.
00:04:15.000 People keep saying, oh, you changed.
00:04:17.000 No, the Democrats are so far left.
00:04:20.000 They're extremists.
00:04:21.000 I don't even know what this party is.
00:04:22.000 It's not the JFK party.
00:04:24.000 This party has gone radical.
00:04:26.000 There is no way I can be part of that current party at all.
00:04:30.000 And they seem as if they have a dedicated war on police, law enforcement.
00:04:35.000 And so in these very interesting times, it seems harder than ever for black Americans to speak their support for Donald Trump.
00:04:44.000 Can you talk about some of the backlash that you have received from?
00:04:47.000 I mean, you were running in Democrat circles.
00:04:50.000 Just walk us through just kind of this journey you've been on the last couple months.
00:04:54.000 I'll tell you, Charlie, it's amazing because people who have been my friends in all different professions, neighbors, lawyers, my golf buddies, all of a sudden I've gotten the silent treatment as far as something happened to me.
00:05:09.000 The name calling.
00:05:11.000 It's funny.
00:05:11.000 It's not a matter of issue.
00:05:13.000 It's the name calling.
00:05:15.000 Being called all the names, House Negro, Uncle Tom, Kuhn, heard all that.
00:05:20.000 But you know what?
00:05:21.000 I'm comfortable with myself because I believe in country first.
00:05:27.000 It doesn't bother me that I've lost these friends.
00:05:30.000 I question their friendship now, but I feel like in the best interest of this country, I have to vote for Donald Trump.
00:05:36.000 And here's the other thing.
00:05:38.000 He has done more for African Americans, more for black Americans than the Democrats.
00:05:44.000 They talk a good game, Charlie.
00:05:46.000 They talk a good game, but as far as progress, as far as program, absolutely zero.
00:05:52.000 Instead, they have a belief that your identity is strictly your political choice, that you are no longer black if you do not agree with how much power that we want.
00:06:06.000 Isn't that amazing?
00:06:08.000 I mean, there is some third party telling me how to be black, how to think, how to react, how to respond, hate the other side.
00:06:16.000 Some third party.
00:06:17.000 I never designated someone to take over my brain, to take over all my thoughts and my choices.
00:06:22.000 And this was an awakening, but I would assure you of this, Charlie, a lot of black Americans are waking up.
00:06:29.000 I'm not the only one.
00:06:30.000 A lot of black Americans are saying, wait a minute, I need to reexamine my loyalty to the Democratic Party.
00:06:36.000 Yeah, I'm hearing a lot of it.
00:06:38.000 And so can you walk us through, you know, we have a good amount of time to build this out, just kind of how you started in politics, some of the concerns that you shared that you had then and you share today, and how conservatives are going about addressing those concerns, whether it be the First Step Act, historical black college university funding.
00:07:00.000 Can you talk about how in some ways conservative, whatever you want to call it, right?
00:07:03.000 The Trump movement is now addressing some of these deeper issues that have plagued the black community in a very substantive way.
00:07:13.000 That's a very good question.
00:07:14.000 You know, first of all, let me work backwards on the Trump issue.
00:07:17.000 Trump, in my opinion, has redefined the Republican Party.
00:07:21.000 He is the president who puts the average American citizen, the worker first.
00:07:28.000 He ran on that campaign in 2016, bringing jobs back to the everyday American.
00:07:34.000 There's always been a mindset, Charlie, that Republicans are always for a big corporation.
00:07:38.000 No, no, no, no.
00:07:39.000 Donald Trump cares about the average American citizen, and it resonates with everyone.
00:07:46.000 And what for African Americans, my gosh, he has dropped the unemployment rate before the pandemic to record lows.
00:07:56.000 Nothing that the Obama-Biden administration, the First Step Act, which you talked about, a chance to give individuals of all colors a second chance to undo what Joe Biden did in 1994 with the crime bill, in which he basically, with the help of the Congressional Black Caucus, approved this mass incarceration.
00:08:19.000 That's why you saw Alice Marie Johnson thank the president.
00:08:23.000 Charlie, funding historical black colleges.
00:08:27.000 President Trump did that.
00:08:29.000 Why is that significant?
00:08:30.000 I would not be on your program, Charlie Kirk, if I didn't have a good education.
00:08:35.000 Education is the key to breaking the poverty cycle, and people should know that.
00:08:41.000 And here's the other aspect: school choice, Charlie.
00:08:45.000 He believes in school choice.
00:08:47.000 The Democrats are in bed with the teachers' union.
00:08:51.000 School choice is a four-letter word to Democrats and teacher unions because they want to keep us people of color in urban schools in poor public schools.
00:09:02.000 They won't give us a choice.
00:09:04.000 You look at opportunity zones, pumping money, businesses into areas where African Americans and other people of color live.
00:09:15.000 I mean, it's time for blacks not to just get a job, but for ownership and control.
00:09:20.000 Guess what?
00:09:21.000 Everything that I just articulated came from a Republican president who cares about everyone.
00:09:29.000 That's why it offends me when they try to call Donald Trump a racist.
00:09:34.000 They need to look in the mirror.
00:09:36.000 They need to examine Joe Biden's record.
00:09:38.000 They need to do a self-examination of the Democratic Party.
00:09:42.000 But when you talk about what Donald Trump has done in really redefining, changing the priorities of the Republican Party, he has included black Americans.
00:09:54.000 And those are facts.
00:09:55.000 Those are not just arguments.
00:09:56.000 Those are facts, Charlie Kirk.
00:09:59.000 So Michelle Obama came out and she said, quote, Donald Trump is stoking fear about black and brown Americans.
00:10:07.000 You have been in politics longer than Michelle Obama has.
00:10:13.000 You have been a civil rights attorney.
00:10:15.000 You have fought the tough fights, quite honestly, right?
00:10:18.000 You have been involved in representing people that have been racially discriminated against with legitimate cause and claim.
00:10:27.000 We have two minutes, so I want you to answer quickly and then we can get to it in the next segment.
00:10:31.000 Is Michelle Obama?
00:10:32.000 What is she talking about here?
00:10:35.000 You know what?
00:10:36.000 You said it well in your setup.
00:10:38.000 I have more credibility on this issue than Michelle Obama.
00:10:42.000 30 years invested, respecting her position as former first lady.
00:10:48.000 She is lying.
00:10:50.000 She is lying when she comes out and called Donald Trump a racist.
00:10:53.000 She is lying when she says there's only been a fraction of disturbances by protesters and writers.
00:11:02.000 You look at all those Democratic cities, all the writing going on.
00:11:06.000 That was being done with the blessings of the Democratic leadership in those cities, Seattle, Portland, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles.
00:11:16.000 You got to give me a break.
00:11:17.000 But they're worried, Charlie, about black folks leaving the Democratic Party.
00:11:22.000 That's why she came out with that big lie.
00:11:25.000 And she continues to say these things to almost stoke fear.
00:11:30.000 And in the next segment, I want to build out: is this really effective?
00:11:34.000 And what are things that Republicans can learn from the past?
00:11:37.000 I really want to kind of pick your brain on this because Republicans, I think, have done a poor job of going and asking black people for votes and actually building a record of success.
00:11:47.000 And we have a theory around all of that.
00:11:51.000 Look, I want to tell you about Good Ranchers.

00:13:03.000 So, Leo, I want you to touch on this.
00:13:06.000 I have always said that Republicans have done a poor job of going into the black community, articulating what we stand for, why we stand for it, and our agenda for black voters.
00:13:17.000 You've been in the Democrat circles for a long time.
00:13:19.000 Just looking at it, be brutally honest.
00:13:21.000 Say, Republicans, what do we have to do better to win over black voters, actually deliver results in the coming years?
00:13:28.000 Every question you've asked me has been perfect.
00:13:31.000 This is the best question because I want to make sure Republicans and Americans hear my answer.
00:13:37.000 I witnessed the Republican National Convention.
00:13:40.000 You spoke, and I saw America.
00:13:44.000 I saw people of all colors, all shapes, all sizes talk about the value of being in the Republican Party.
00:13:52.000 It was a rainbow coalition.
00:13:55.000 Charlie Kirk, everyone listened to me.
00:13:57.000 That message needs to be out there 365 days a year.
00:14:03.000 If you took the Republican National Convention and the way it was presented to America, that's the message that has to be out there every day because a lot of people don't understand what the Republican Party stood for.
00:14:17.000 I was excited.
00:14:18.000 I was happy.
00:14:20.000 I was just busting with joy about all these messages that we're talking about coming from the Republican Party and telling America, this is what we're about.
00:14:30.000 The Democratic Party, gloom, nightmare, disaster.
00:14:34.000 But specifically, take what you did at the RNC and get that message out every day of the week.
00:14:44.000 Can you talk about progress that you're seeing on the ground?
00:14:47.000 Are you seeing black Americans start to defect from the Democrat Party?
00:14:50.000 And look, defection is one thing, but also Republicans have to win over these votes.
00:14:55.000 They have to deliver results.
00:14:56.000 They have to talk about school choice.
00:14:58.000 They have to talk about law and order.
00:15:00.000 Are you seeing some movement on the ground that will materialize in some more support for President Trump and the black community?
00:15:08.000 You know, I always want to be, you know, I think I've always had credibility by being upfront and honest.
00:15:12.000 I never held back.
00:15:13.000 To answer your question, yes.
00:15:15.000 I see it because notwithstanding those individuals who are upset with me for leaving the Democratic Party, I have been overwhelmed receiving phone calls, email from black Americans who are saying thank you for speaking up, that we are now going to vote Republican.
00:15:34.000 We believe in school choice.
00:15:36.000 We believe in opportunity zone.
00:15:39.000 So I'm telling you, it is real.
00:15:41.000 I just did an interview with the Washington Post, and they had to admit, Charlie, that the number of black male voters are trending towards Trump.
00:15:51.000 It's real.
00:15:52.000 It's on the ground.
00:15:54.000 And that's why you had Michelle Obama throw that race bomb yesterday, because the Democrats are worried that the black base is being shifted and moving away from the Democratic talking points.
00:16:08.000 And a lot of the Democrat talking points, it's very interesting you mentioned that.
00:16:12.000 In 2008, when Barack Obama ran for president, he was a centrist candidate in a lot of different ways.
00:16:18.000 He was careful not to attack religion or faith.
00:16:22.000 He talked about the necessity of freedom of speech and cooperation.
00:16:26.000 He never said a bad word about law enforcement.
00:16:29.000 And I try to tell people that the Democrats, when I was growing up, I grew up in Illinois, they were a center-right party compared to where we are today.
00:16:37.000 And there is disagreements about healthcare and all this, but you look at where the paradigm is now.
00:16:42.000 All of a sudden, you have a Democrat Party where if Obama said what he said in 2008, he'd be called a Tea Party radical.
00:16:50.000 And the black community is looking around saying, we don't, why are you focusing on this transgenderism and all that stuff's fine, I guess?
00:16:59.000 I mean, it's not like, I don't want to mean insulting to it, but there's real problems.
00:17:07.000 Barack Obama could not win the nomination with the Democratic Party of 2020.
00:17:12.000 He would be considered too far right.
00:17:15.000 Isn't that crazy?
00:17:16.000 The Democrats have doubled down with the extremists.
00:17:19.000 They have doubled down with extreme groups like Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and they feel comfortable with it.
00:17:26.000 That's what's so scary about it.
00:17:28.000 And so you have law-abiding Democrats who are looking left because of party loyalty, but they're saying, you know what?
00:17:36.000 My conscience and country first makes me go right.
00:17:40.000 I have to vote right.
00:17:41.000 You said it earlier about me.
00:17:43.000 The Democratic Party is so far left, they left me.
00:17:46.000 Yes.
00:17:47.000 And I think, and like I say right now, I feel very, very comfortable.
00:17:51.000 One issue, you look at these Democratic mayors throughout the summer.
00:17:56.000 They turned down help to put down the riot.
00:18:00.000 Why?
00:18:00.000 Because it came from a Republican.
00:18:02.000 Simply because he's a Republican.
00:18:04.000 Trump put country first when it came to law and order.
00:18:07.000 The Democrats said, no, that's not part of our platform.
00:18:10.000 We believe in no police.
00:18:12.000 We believe in the funding of the police.
00:18:14.000 It's crazy, Charlie.
00:18:18.000 Whether you're new to the gym or you've been lifting weights for years, it's hard to find the right workout program and stick to it.
00:18:23.000 Look, I travel a lot.
00:18:25.000 We do a couple hours of radio.
00:18:27.000 We do podcasting, speaking, raising money, all sorts of different things.
00:18:31.000 I like Fitbod for a reason.
00:18:32.000 It keeps me on schedule.
00:18:34.000 Fitbod is a smart fitness app that takes all the guesswork out of planning your workouts.

00:19:23.000 Leo, you are doing a great job of articulating what is going on in American politics.
00:19:28.000 And quite honestly, if the activist media was just journalists and not activists, this is a really interesting thing that's happening.
00:19:35.000 Regardless of whether you want it to happen or not, there's a record amount of black people that are defecting from the Democrat Party.
00:19:41.000 And I have an opinion of this.
00:19:43.000 I have an opinion on this.
00:19:44.000 I want your comment.
00:19:44.000 The hyperracialization of our politics recently has really bothered me, where BLM Incorporated is acting so aggressive against law enforcement and against law and order.
00:19:55.000 And you've spent your career as a civil rights attorney defending the rights of the disenfranchised, which is a moral thing to do.
00:20:03.000 It's a Christian thing to do.
00:20:05.000 And you defended due process, defending rights in the workplace.
00:20:09.000 And you could talk more about that.
00:20:11.000 Now you see today, you have left the Democrat Party.
00:20:15.000 Are you starting to see that maybe the Democrats are not as tolerant as they might have seen with some of the names you're called on social media or some of the backlash?
00:20:24.000 In fact, I saw a tweet from yours when you talked about you're finally seeing how vicious one side can actually be.
00:20:31.000 Can you talk about how difficult it is to think freely in this political climate right now, dominated by the activist media?
00:20:39.000 And this is what has happened.
00:20:39.000 Right.
00:20:41.000 I give Black Lives Matter an A plus because they have been able to manipulate social media.
00:20:48.000 They have been able to manipulate public interest.
00:20:51.000 And they have basically used the Al Sharpton playbook and have basically frightened corporations to give them millions and millions of dollars.
00:20:59.000 I want to be clear on your program.
00:21:02.000 I do not support Black Lives Matter.
00:21:04.000 I am against Black Lives Matter.
00:21:06.000 Why?
00:21:07.000 Very simple.
00:21:08.000 Charlie, they claim they care about all black lives.
00:21:10.000 That is a lie.
00:21:12.000 Because they don't care about the black on black crime that goes on in Chicago.
00:21:12.000 Why?
00:21:16.000 They don't care if a black officer gets killed in the line of duty.
00:21:19.000 They don't want black officers to be police officers.
00:21:23.000 You see how many number of police chiefs who have resigned who are black Americans?
00:21:28.000 They don't believe in law and order.
00:21:30.000 Black Lives Matter to me is nothing more than a profiteer organization.
00:21:34.000 And they have used the pressure to influence and pressure the NBA, entertainment world, the sports world, the political world.
00:21:44.000 You lose your job.
00:21:45.000 One of the things I made sure, Charlie, when I became a civil rights attorney was to never be beholden to an employer because I figured I'd be fired.
00:21:53.000 So I decided to become self-employed.
00:21:56.000 And you see, they can't hurt me economically.
00:21:59.000 They can't put the word out of me economically.
00:22:02.000 So I feel very clear and very free of conscience to talk about Black Lives Matter and attack their dogma, their doctrine, their Marxist principle.
00:22:12.000 People need to understand that.
00:22:13.000 They have done an unbelievable job of manipulating the public, but they have not manipulated me.
00:22:19.000 And I welcome the opportunity in the near future to debate them on the issue, hopefully have you as a moderate so that we can have equal time because the public needs to know, just like when you asked me earlier about the RNC and the Republican, they need to get the message out.
00:22:34.000 We need, I need, America needs to get the message out about Black Lives Matter.
00:22:39.000 And so if BLM Incorporated was raising all this money, which could be billions of dollars, we don't even know, and they were, let's say, giving it to black-owned businesses to employ black people, or they were using it for family creation, or they're using it, let's say, Leo, for scholarships, right?
00:22:57.000 For charter schools.
00:22:58.000 You know what I would say is I'd say, that's admirable.
00:23:01.000 Okay, you might be trained Marxists or whatever, but at least you're doing something.
00:23:04.000 Leo, none of that is happening.
00:23:07.000 So instead, it is Donald Trump who is giving money to HBCUs, Donald Trump who is doing the opportunity zones where billions of dollars of private capital are coming into black communities.
00:23:19.000 And look, there's a lot of work to be done.
00:23:21.000 But Leo, I could tell you in Chicago, there are three major developments happening.
00:23:27.000 I don't know if they'll continue after all this riots and nonsense, but before the pandemic that were opportunity zone invested, that were going to be black employment centers basically for those parts of Chicago that are really suffering.
00:23:40.000 Can you talk about how BLM Incorporated is taking these billions of dollars and it's not going to help the black community?
00:23:48.000 I mean, this should outrage black Americans.
00:23:52.000 Well, you're spot on.
00:23:54.000 Black America should be outraged, but the information is not out there.
00:23:59.000 If they were helping, and I said this earlier, school education is the key to break the poverty cycle.
00:23:59.000 You're right.
00:24:06.000 The billions and billions of dollars that Black Lives Matter is collecting from these corporations who don't want to be canceled, they are using this money for everything other than improving the black community.
00:24:20.000 As a result of their rioting, the protesting, the burning, the looting, you have stopped economic development in the black community.
00:24:30.000 And then you have Black Lives Matter leadership on national TV saying, I have no problem with rioting.
00:24:38.000 They have insurance.
00:24:39.000 That defies logic.
00:24:42.000 Excuse me.
00:24:43.000 That defies logic.
00:24:45.000 And that tells me that people are thinking emotionally and not logically with supporting Black Lives Matter.
00:24:53.000 The goal here is to get people to understand that Black Lives Matter does not have the interests of Black Americans at heart.
00:25:01.000 And while Minnesota was burning and black-owned businesses were deteriorated, Kamala Harris was trying to support financial assistance to the people that they could be released that burned down those black-owned businesses.
00:25:15.000 Now, if Kamala Harris or Joe Biden were raising money saying, hey, we're going to do a Minnesota business relief fund, I would have said, I agree with that.
00:25:23.000 That's fine.
00:25:24.000 Again, I'm not trying to overly politicize everything they do, but the people that burn down the buildings, they should probably get assistance after, I'm not really into giving assistance to those people, but probably the people's bakery or barbershop or laundromat that gets burned to the ground.
00:25:41.000 Who is supporting them?
00:25:44.000 You know what?
00:25:45.000 This is my first time on your show.
00:25:46.000 I love the questions you were asking me.
00:25:48.000 They're fantastic.
00:25:49.000 Kamala Harris is a nightmare.
00:25:52.000 First, as an AG in California, which I'm well aware of, and now as a VP nominee, she is funding a bail program for criminals who are looting and burning.
00:26:05.000 She has failed, Charlie Kirk, to visit the two ambush officers in California who are ambushed.
00:26:13.000 This woman has abandoned law enforcement.
00:26:16.000 She applauded our mayor in Los Angeles for defunding $150 million away from LAPD.
00:26:23.000 And she wants to be the vice president.
00:26:25.000 She has abandoned law and order.
00:26:28.000 And this is a woman, in my opinion, and let me just predate when I went back and you asked me why did I leave the Democratic Party.
00:26:35.000 A third major reason was Kamala Harris.
00:26:38.000 And I said very early before I endorsed Donald Trump, if she was on the ticket, I would vote for the Republicans.
00:26:45.000 She's on the ticket.
00:26:46.000 There's no way I would vote for the Democratic Party because Kamala Harris is a nightmare.
00:26:53.000 And I just shudder of the idea of a Biden-Harris administration.
00:26:57.000 We have to do everything possible to get Donald J. Trump re-elected.
00:27:02.000 And so can you talk about what Republicans, there's a lot of conservatives that listen to this podcast, grassroots conservatives, Leo, and they believe in faith, family, school choice, and they want to do something dramatic to help all citizens, including black Americans.
00:27:18.000 Can you just talk about, I mean, you coming up in the Democrat Party and in the Democrat circles, can you talk about specific policies that strike at the heart of black voters so that we can move the dial, that we can deliver results?
00:27:31.000 What can an average conservative do that's listening to this that's 18 years old, 20 years old?
00:27:36.000 What are the policies we can advocate?
00:27:38.000 You talked about school choice.
00:27:39.000 You talked about criminal justice reform, which is so important.
00:27:43.000 And by the way, we're the ones fixing the Biden-Clinton crime bill.
00:27:47.000 Yes.
00:27:47.000 I mean, it's the Democrats that authored this, right?
00:27:52.000 I mean, right now, and I'll answer your question.
00:27:56.000 Donald Trump, Tim Scott, try to get police reform done.
00:28:01.000 You know, what the Democrats always complain about, bad cop, Donald Trump, Republican Tim Scott, try to get police reform.
00:28:08.000 Guess what?
00:28:09.000 Blocked by the Democrats.
00:28:11.000 Blocked by Corey Booker, a black man.
00:28:14.000 Blocked by Kamala Harris, a black woman.
00:28:17.000 This is crazy.
00:28:19.000 But to answer your question, you're right.
00:28:22.000 You know, I'm going to make school choice my number one civil rights issue for the rest of my life.
00:28:26.000 You and me.
00:28:28.000 It is the key to helping the black community with economic mobility upward.
00:28:34.000 Second, I honestly believe police reform has been something that has bothered the black community.
00:28:41.000 But when you set those two things aside, it is the opportunity, Charlie.
00:28:45.000 We need to take that next phase.
00:28:47.000 Black ownership and control of businesses.
00:28:50.000 I think that's critical because it gives you a feeling of control over your life.
00:28:56.000 And I've experienced that as a lawyer having my own law practice.
00:29:00.000 It gives you a greater degree of independence, a greater degree of freedom.
00:29:03.000 All things that the Republican Party wants you to have.
00:29:07.000 The Democrats want you to be dependent on government.
00:29:10.000 So I would submit that for conservative Republicans, focus on schools because the Democrats have no argument on school choice.
00:29:18.000 It's a loser for them.
00:29:21.000 Go ahead, please.
00:29:22.000 No, I'm just, I'm curious.
00:29:23.000 When you were in the Democrat circles the last decade, were Republicans reaching out to you?
00:29:27.000 Were they doing a good job?
00:29:28.000 Are they just kind of ignoring the black community, just saying, whatever, it's a lost cause.
00:29:32.000 We'll go to suburban voters.
00:29:34.000 Absolutely correct.
00:29:36.000 In the 30 years of practicing law and being in the Democratic Party, I never was contacted, communicated in any in my profession or private life by the Republican Party.
00:29:48.000 Just they just wrote us off.
00:29:50.000 They wrote us until Donald Trump came along.
00:29:56.000 Donald Trump, and like I said again earlier, Donald Trump has changed the perspective of the Republican Party, and he's made all Americans, including black Americans, part of the Republican Party.
00:30:08.000 But I'm telling your conservative listeners, you've got to keep the African American vote in tune by making them part of the party.
00:30:17.000 Trump has done that, and that must be continued.
00:30:20.000 Trump policies must be continued.
00:30:23.000 And those policies are rooted in opportunity and education.
00:30:28.000 I love the school choice because if you look at Baltimore, they have five schools where they can't find a black fifth grader that can read at grade level.
00:30:37.000 And so, Leo, you know what they do is the Department of Maryland Prisons comes in and they ask the leadership of the schools, hey, what are the literacy rates?
00:30:48.000 And they say XYZ.
00:30:50.000 They say, okay, now we know how many prison cells we're going to need in 10 years.
00:30:54.000 Do you know that they plan out their prison population based on illiteracy rates in third, fourth, and fifth grade?
00:31:00.000 People don't even know this.
00:31:01.000 No, I didn't.
00:31:02.000 No, no, my eyes are bulged.
00:31:03.000 I did not know that.
00:31:04.000 I love, I'm learning from you about that fact.
00:31:08.000 Did not know that.
00:31:09.000 And that is a talking point to make sure people are aware of that.
00:31:13.000 That is frightening.
00:31:14.000 That is sad.
00:31:15.000 That is a projection for failure and incarceration.
00:31:19.000 And that's the type of information, Charlie, that needs to be out there.
00:31:22.000 That needs to be put out there.
00:31:24.000 And we know we can do good education in this country.
00:31:27.000 We know it's not public sector teacher unions.
00:31:29.000 And for every black mother out there, we want your child to have a meaningful education.
00:31:34.000 I believe it is a civil rights issue.
00:31:35.000 I really do.
00:31:36.000 And I think that conservatives need to step up to the plate and say, we're going to fund charter schools.
00:31:41.000 We are going to give better opportunity for all kids that you're going to be able to read the founding documents, understand to read the classics, and then education will be the springboard out of poverty.
00:31:54.000 Look, I can tell you from running Turning Point USA, Turning Point Action, Charlie Kirk show, that HR issues are important and they can be very expensive.
00:32:03.000 Wrongful termination suits, minimum wage requirements, labor regulations.
00:32:07.000 And look, HR manager salaries are never cheap.
00:32:09.000 In fact, I can tell you from experience, they're up to $70,000 a year.
00:32:12.000 In fact, probably even more in certain states.
00:32:14.000 Bambi, spelled B-A-M-B-E-E, B-A-M-B-E-E, was created specifically for your small business.

00:33:11.000 Bambi.com slash Kirk.
00:33:16.000 I want to talk about the election.
00:33:18.000 You touched on this earlier a little bit.
00:33:20.000 We are in the last sprint to the campaign.
00:33:23.000 I believe Joe Biden has a very questionable racial past Clinton crime bill saying very disturbing things through even the most recent, which I wish the president would have said in the debate.
00:33:36.000 I just, the one thing I really wish he would have said when the race issue came up is, Joe, do you think black people aren't black if they don't vote for you?
00:33:43.000 I just wish that would have been, right?
00:33:46.000 Perfect.
00:33:46.000 That would have gone viral in the black community, by the way, because the black community would have said, he said that.
00:33:53.000 And so can you comment on that?
00:33:54.000 What does Trump have to do to win more black voters right here, right now?
00:33:58.000 I guarantee you, very simple.
00:34:00.000 Joe, tell the American public what you have done in 47 years for black Americans.
00:34:06.000 Before you do, Joe, let me tell you what I've done in three and a half years.
00:34:10.000 Boom, boom, boom.
00:34:11.000 He lists it, and then he lets Joe Biden answer.
00:34:15.000 Please, Mr. President, because the answer is going to be very short.
00:34:18.000 He has no answer.
00:34:20.000 He's done nothing for black Americans.
00:34:22.000 He's talked a good game, but no accomplishment whatsoever.
00:34:27.000 And this sort of exodus from the Democrat Party is going to really just, it's going to really disrupt the landscape.
00:34:34.000 This is why I think a lot of these polls are very misleading, is because they are not sampling the black community as if they're going to have any sort of movement away from Biden to Trump.
00:34:45.000 And Leo, you know this, three, four percentage points of blacks voting differently, right?
00:34:51.000 The whole landscape changes.
00:34:53.000 It is the black voters do not understand how much power they have in those battleground states, Charlie.
00:34:59.000 And I've asked the president, send me to those battleground states.
00:35:01.000 You move the needle two or three percentage points.
00:35:05.000 It makes a big difference.
00:35:07.000 And that vote is up for grabs.
00:35:10.000 These last 27 days are critical to the Trump administration.
00:35:14.000 We're going to win this election and we're going to win it because we're going to outwork the Biden-Harris team.
00:35:19.000 Leo, a lot of our listeners are probably loving what you're saying right now.
00:35:22.000 I know they are.
00:35:22.000 How can they support you?
00:35:24.000 How can they follow you?
00:35:25.000 How can they get behind you?
00:35:26.000 Because it is never easy leaving the Democrat Party.
00:35:30.000 It can be vicious.
00:35:31.000 It could be nasty.
00:35:32.000 How can we help you?
00:35:33.000 Thank you very much.
00:35:34.000 You can, first of all, follow me at my website, www.theleoterrell.com.
00:35:41.000 I'm on Twitter.
00:35:42.000 I'm always tweeting at the Leo Terrell.
00:35:45.000 I'm called Leo Terrell 2.0.
00:35:47.000 You want to get a Leo Terrell hat?
00:35:48.000 Get a Leo Trail hat at my website.
00:35:51.000 But I also have a podcast, which I drop every Thursday.
00:35:56.000 Every Thursday, I drop a podcast, a brand new one.
00:35:59.000 You can hear it.
00:35:59.000 Subscribe for free.
00:36:01.000 I guarantee all these things would help me because, Charlie, I'm first of all very happy to be part of the team working with you, but I am committed.
00:36:10.000 And I forgot to tell the listeners, before I became a lawyer, I was a school teacher.
00:36:14.000 I have my teaching license.
00:36:15.000 I still have it.
00:36:16.000 That was my first job.
00:36:17.000 And I am continuing dedicated to make sure we improve education for all people.
00:36:23.000 It's so critical.
00:36:24.000 And I think that this is an issue where you have the Democrats in kind of a socialist straitjacket because they talk a good game on education, but it is the same cycle of failed teachers, no school choice, no charter schools, no private schools.
00:36:39.000 And if you go to the black community in the south side of Chicago, and I visited it quite often or in Milwaukee, and you talk to black mothers and you say, hey, what's the key for your kids to have a better life?
00:36:52.000 They'll say, I wish that my kids could go to a better school, every single one of them.
00:36:56.000 And the second thing, and I want you to finish on this in the couple minutes we have remaining, Leo, is if the streets are not safe, businesses will not come into those communities.
00:37:04.000 They won't.
00:37:05.000 In Chicago, they are on pace for 600 murders this year.
00:37:09.000 Businesses won't come into those communities with that happening.
00:37:12.000 Can you comment on those two things in particular?
00:37:14.000 Oh, absolutely.
00:37:15.000 Because first of all, I'm on your show due to a quality education.
00:37:19.000 I had a mom and dad, Charlie.
00:37:20.000 Mom didn't finish eighth grade.
00:37:22.000 Dad finished high school, but they made sure that I got a good education.
00:37:26.000 It's a necessity for upward mobility.
00:37:29.000 And black families want that for their kids.
00:37:31.000 There's a general rule.
00:37:32.000 You want your kids to do better than you in their lifetime.
00:37:36.000 Secondly, quality of life.
00:37:39.000 You want black parents want to feel comfortable if they send their kids outside the door to play baseball.
00:37:44.000 They're not going to get shot.
00:37:46.000 So they want law enforcement.
00:37:48.000 They want a safe neighborhood.
00:37:50.000 That's the importance of police protection.
00:37:52.000 That is why law enforcement is very important.
00:37:55.000 Black voters, black citizens love law enforcement because it's the barrier between them and the gang members.
00:38:03.000 Couple seconds remaining, Leo, in closing super quick.

00:38:13.000 They're liars.
00:38:14.000 And I challenge them to prove it.
00:38:15.000 The president has done more for black Americans than any black president named Barack Obama.
00:38:21.000 It's well said.
