00:01:42.000 We spend a fair amount of time talking about how Republicans don't do much of anything useful, but there is one exception.
00:01:49.000 There's a few exceptions, but there's one senator that has just been so courageous and really ahead of his time on almost every single issue.
00:01:57.000 And he is in a tough reelection fight in the great state of Wisconsin right now.
00:02:02.000 Over $37 million have already been spent against him.
00:02:07.000 And I have a feeling that they're going to find every single way to place more ads against the wonderful and the courageous senator from Wisconsin, Senator Ron Johnson, who joins us right now.
00:02:17.000 Senator, welcome back to the program.
00:02:19.000 Well, Charlie, I think it's over 39 million now, but who's quibbling with the exact details, huh?
00:02:24.000 Now, these are inflated dollars, Senator.
00:02:27.000 So it would be something like 20 million maybe a couple election cycles ago.
00:02:31.000 But let's start with that.
00:02:33.000 Who's spending that money?
00:02:34.000 I mean, that's an extraordinary figure for a Senate race in Wisconsin.
00:02:38.000 That's on pace to maybe be a $100 million race.
00:02:41.000 I mean, the establishment must be trying to take you out and left-wing interests.
00:02:44.000 Who's spending all this money?
00:02:47.000 Well, it's what Democrats would call dark money, which they just hate until they want to use it to destroy somebody.
00:02:55.000 And they're very good at the politics of personal destruction.
00:02:58.000 So it's all the outside groups are coming in here.
00:03:00.000 And I don't even have an opponent yet, except I have the worst opponent, Charlie.
00:03:05.000 I've got the mainstream media that's been trying to take me out for at least 18 months.
00:03:09.000 So again, it's dark money.
00:03:10.000 It's the groups.
00:03:12.000 They believe this should be their Democrat Senate seat.
00:03:16.000 They want it so they can eliminate the filibuster.
00:03:19.000 They can continue us down this road of socialism.
00:03:21.000 And I know the people of Wisconsin aren't going to put up with it, but $39 million.
00:03:26.000 I'm sorry, already is extraordinary.
00:03:28.000 And so let's talk about crime.
00:03:30.000 I know this is a major issue for your campaign and something that is on the top of mind for voters.
00:03:36.000 Violent crime is up in the nation's biggest cities.
00:03:39.000 I don't know if it's up in Milwaukee or not.
00:03:41.000 You'll be able to fill us in with that.
00:03:43.000 We know you voted no on the gun control bill.
00:03:46.000 Tell us why you voted no on that bill.
00:03:48.000 And then just in general, talk about violent crime and how it's on the rise in America.
00:03:54.000 Well, first of all, before we pass any new gun control laws, why don't we enforce the ones we've got?
00:04:02.000 I don't believe, listen, we start spending tens of millions of dollars or tens of billions of dollars.
00:04:08.000 You may have some impact on mental health issues.
00:04:11.000 But again, I just don't see anything that we're passing in Washington, D.C. that's going to really impact these mass shootings.
00:04:17.000 And let's face it, the vast majority of gun violence is occurring on the streets, oftentimes in the streets of cities governed by Democrats, oftentimes in cities with very strong gun control laws.
00:04:29.000 So, bottom line, this is another one of these dysfunctional pieces of legislation.
00:04:33.000 Didn't go through committee process, no chance for amendments.
00:04:35.000 It's crafted by a gang.
00:04:38.000 In this case, it's, I think, 15 Republicans joining with all 50 Democrats.
00:04:43.000 So, a majority of our conference was opposed to this bill, partly because it did not offer due process protection in some of these red flag laws that it would be inducements, incentives for states to pass.
00:04:56.000 So, across the board, I just do not think it'd be worthy of my support.
00:05:00.000 Yeah, and thank you for that vote, which I consider to be courageous considering the amount of ads being spent against you.
00:05:09.000 So, I do wonder, though, why is it always, it seems as if Republicans are quick to try to go in the direction of Democrats, but the Democrats never negotiate with us.
00:05:17.000 I mean, we look at the southern border, which I know is a major issue for voters in Wisconsin.
00:05:22.000 All we asked for was a couple billion dollars for the wall, could never get any movement on it.
00:05:26.000 Why does it seem as if Democrats never budge an inch, but Republicans are quick to try to always appease Democrats?
00:05:34.000 It's pretty easy to explain.
00:05:36.000 The Democrats can rely on the fact that the vast majority of the media will be on their side.
00:05:42.000 Never get tough questions.
00:05:44.000 Let's face it, the vast majority of members of the media now, they're not journalists.
00:05:49.000 They're advocates for the Democratic cause.
00:05:50.000 They've been cranked out of our university systems that were taken over control over, was taken over by radical leftists in the 60s.
00:05:57.000 So they're not graduating journalists anymore.
00:06:00.000 They're graduating advocates for the Democrat cause.
00:06:03.000 And so, you know, Republicans, too many of them, want to curry favor with the media that's heavily opposed to them.
00:06:10.000 And that's, by and large, a dynamic that occurs time and time again.
00:06:14.000 It drives me nuts.
00:06:15.000 Yeah, it really is.
00:06:17.000 So let's talk about the economy.
00:06:18.000 I mean, you ran a business before you went to the Senate.
00:06:20.000 You understand what it's like to run a business, unlike most people in politics.
00:06:24.000 I mean, over the last just 18 months, we've seen a massive increase in inflation.
00:06:29.000 What role can a Republican Senate and Republican Congress play in putting an effective check and balance on this runaway inflation?
00:06:38.000 Hopefully, if we do win the majority, if I survive my reelection, we'll all be William F. Buckley Conservatives and stand athwart history and just yell, stop.
00:06:47.000 We need to stop the agenda.
00:06:49.000 But the problem we have is that prior Congresses, and I would say this one as well, continue to grant their constitutional authority or transfer it to the executive branch and continue to make the president more and more powerful.
00:07:00.000 So there's so many things the president can do legally with just executive action.
00:07:05.000 And then, of course, this administration, like the Obama administration, was pretty lawless, and they're happy to push the envelope on that and enact executive orders that end up being slapped down by the courts.
00:07:16.000 But it takes a couple of years for that to wind through the courts.
00:07:19.000 So the damage has already been done.
00:07:21.000 So it's going to be difficult.
00:07:23.000 We're going to really need to win not only 2022 and also 2024, but then have an agenda and be ready to act on it as soon as we would take control in 2025.
00:07:33.000 Yeah, so what do you think that agenda should be?
00:07:35.000 And also, I mean, taking power in 2022 is important, but just to manage the expectation of our voters, what is going to be the top of the list understanding that if we take back the Senate, we're going to be living under divided government.
00:07:47.000 Well, let's take a look at what we need to do and the harm that's being caused right now by the Biden administration.
00:07:53.000 Across the board, they are weakening America.
00:07:55.000 Open borders, 40-year high inflation, record gasoline prices, rising crime.
00:08:00.000 So how do we reverse that trend?
00:08:02.000 Well, first of all, if you want to have a strong economy, you need safety and security.
00:08:08.000 So you need to make sure that you spend enough on defense on law enforcement.
00:08:12.000 You empower them.
00:08:12.000 You don't denigrate them.
00:08:13.000 You don't try and defund them.
00:08:15.000 So you start with safety and security.
00:08:18.000 You have to secure our border.
00:08:19.000 This flood of illegal immigration is awful for everybody.
00:08:23.000 It is facilitating the business model of some of the most evil people on the planet.
00:08:28.000 And the Biden administration knows it, but yet they're allowing it to happen.
00:08:31.000 So you secure the border, you provide safety and security with the local law enforcement, state law enforcement.
00:08:36.000 And obviously, you have to have a strong national defense because right now our adversaries are taking advantage of American weakness.
00:08:41.000 So you start there, safety and security.
00:08:43.000 Then you need to get conflation under control.
00:08:47.000 The definition of inflation is pretty basic.
00:08:50.000 Too many dollars chasing too few goods.
00:08:52.000 So stop printing so many dollars.
00:08:54.000 Reduce deficit spending.
00:08:56.000 You're not going to be able to end it immediately, but you can certainly get it under control.
00:09:00.000 And also reduce government interference into our lives.
00:09:05.000 Reduce the regulatory burden.
00:09:07.000 So those are some pretty basic things.
00:09:09.000 We know that they work.
00:09:09.000 We don't have to theorize about this.
00:09:11.000 But under Democrat governance, regulations are out of control.
00:09:15.000 They want to increase taxes.
00:09:16.000 Obviously, deficits and spending is out of control.
00:09:18.000 And we have a completely open border and a weaken America that our adversaries are taking advantage of.
00:09:23.000 So something that I struggle with, and I know a lot of our listeners do as well, is the ideological component to this, because what you just articulated was a rather remarkable list of what seems to be intentional mistakes.
00:09:39.000 I put in air quotes, open borders and inflation.
00:09:42.000 Is there an ideological agenda?
00:09:44.000 The Biden administration calls this a liberal world order, or is this all incompetence?
00:09:48.000 What's your take on that?
00:09:50.000 Because it seems as if they're willing to break the back of American strength to try to usher in some form of a form of government that we've never lived through or under.
00:09:59.000 Being in Washington, D.C., can you help make sense of that for me?
00:10:03.000 Yeah, I've been saying for a long time, you know, there's no doubt that the Biden administration is incompetent, but that's being way too kind.
00:10:10.000 You know, these policy disasters, the results of these policies are exactly that.
00:10:15.000 They are the result of their policies.
00:10:17.000 This is purposeful.
00:10:18.000 They have an open border.
00:10:19.000 They have massive depths of spending that they knew would create inflation.
00:10:23.000 Their own economic advisors were warning against that.
00:10:26.000 But their war on fossil fuel is designed to drive up the cost of gasoline and energy, to force us all into electric vehicles and wind and solar power, even though we don't have the rare earth minerals.
00:10:37.000 We're not mining enough copper to even produce all the electric vehicles and the wind towers and everything else that we would need.
00:10:45.000 So their policies are designed on fantasies.
00:10:48.000 They're not grounded in reality, but they sound good.
00:10:51.000 And of course, they're backed up by the complicit mainstream media.
00:10:54.000 So no, I think their policies are absolutely designed to have the impact they're having.
00:10:58.000 They just don't want to be held accountable for it, but they rely on the mainstream media not to hold them accountable.
00:11:03.000 And it's so dangerous to be dealing with an entire political party that lives in a fantasy or imagination world because then there's no counter to their failure because they'll just say their failure is actually a success.
00:11:15.000 And Senator, that's a changing of the guard, isn't it?
00:11:18.000 I mean, the old Democrat Party 20 or 30 years ago, did at least admit that high gas prices open borders and a destruction of a dollar, like, well, that's a bad thing.
00:11:26.000 Now we're being told, no, it's actually a wonderful thing.
00:11:28.000 I mean, it's maddening for those of us that don't live in Washington, D.C.
00:11:31.000 I can only imagine what it's like in the Senate to have to deal with this where people say, well, actually, the good news about high gas prices is we get to have all these electric vehicles.
00:11:40.000 Talk about you're traveling the state of Wisconsin.
00:11:42.000 You're campaigning hard.
00:11:43.000 You're super well liked in Wisconsin.
00:11:45.000 I think you're going to be able to survive this race for a lot of different reasons, but the money being spent against you is substantial and significant.
00:11:51.000 But the voters of Wisconsin, it doesn't, I can't imagine they're thrilled with $550 gas and the price of goods going up the way it is.
00:12:01.000 What are the voters of Wisconsin communicating to on a daily basis?
00:12:05.000 Yeah, there's no doubt about high gasoline prices, record inflation is the number one issue.
00:12:10.000 It's the number two issue.
00:12:11.000 It's the number three issue.
00:12:12.000 It's one through 10.
00:12:14.000 But quick go back to the evolution of the Democratic Party.
00:12:17.000 John F. Kennedy would probably be one of the most conservative members of the Republican Senate Conference today.
00:12:22.000 That's right.
00:12:23.000 The Democrat Party today is not just mild man of liberals.
00:12:26.000 They are radical leftists.
00:12:30.000 John F. Kennedy wouldn't even be able to recognize the party as it exists today.
00:12:34.000 So they are absolutely dedicated to putting us on this path to socialism.
00:12:38.000 There was an extremely interesting timeline that was going around the internet to Venezuela.
00:12:43.000 I think it started in 1992 when they became the third largest economy in the Western hemisphere.
00:12:48.000 A few years later, they were the second largest importer of F-150 pickup trucks.
00:12:54.000 They were having real success.
00:12:55.000 Then they elected Huger Chavez, put themselves on the path of income equality, which means equal misery.
00:13:03.000 And you saw how in a generation, Venezuela went from an economic powerhouse to an economic basket case where they're slaughtering their citizens in the street, they're starving them, and they have a net outflow of about 10% of their population trying to escape that hellhole.
00:13:20.000 So it's just, you know, it's, as Ronald Reagan said, freedom is but one generation away from extinction.
00:13:26.000 We need to understand that.
00:13:27.000 I think people in Wisconsin do understand that.
00:13:29.000 You know, Charlie, I can't tell you how many people come up to me literally with tears in their eyes saying we have to save this country.
00:13:35.000 And I also have to believe, you know, I often say, you know, anybody that wants to fundamentally transform something doesn't particularly like it.
00:13:42.000 But, you know, that's Democrat leaders.
00:13:44.000 I think most Democrats, most independents, most Americans love this country.
00:13:49.000 They are highly concerned about the path we're on.
00:13:51.000 When you see, what, 75% of the American public believe we're on the wrong path?
00:13:56.000 My message to Wisconsinites is, listen, if you love this country, if you're concerned about its future, join us.
00:14:02.000 We have to save this country.
00:14:03.000 We need to unify and heal it.
00:14:05.000 That was a worthy goal that President Biden laid out in his inauguration speech.
00:14:09.000 He just has not made good on it.
00:14:10.000 He's done the opposite.
00:14:12.000 And there is no state, or there's a few states like Wisconsin, but it's top five of where you have these old blue-collar Democrats, and they're looking around.
00:14:20.000 They're saying, what the heck happened to my party?
00:14:23.000 Donald Trump really started that movement there.
00:14:25.000 And I think, Senator, you've done a great job of channeling that.
00:14:28.000 But especially if you look at places that used to be hardcore Democrat counties, I look at southeastern Wisconsin in particular.
00:14:36.000 I think it's going to go red.
00:14:38.000 I think Kenosha and Racine, those areas are going to go red coming into November.
00:14:42.000 And outside of Madison and Milwaukee, I think it's just going to be, I think it's going to be a landslide.
00:14:48.000 From cringing at the pump to getting an eye-popping check at your favorite restaurant, inflation is hitting us all where it hurts, and it really hurts.

00:16:03.000 So, Senator, I want to ask you, a lot of people to kind of reinforce that point are wondering how to make sense of this idea that we're doing this destruction to ourselves.
00:16:12.000 What gives me hope, though, is that anything we do to ourselves, we could stop doing to ourselves.
00:16:17.000 What is the agenda to voters that we need to put forward in the next 5, 10, 15 years that show that we can actually reignite American prosperity?
00:16:25.000 Well, again, we have to get deficit spending out of control, under control.
00:16:29.000 And we do need to stabilize the Social Security and Medicare.
00:16:34.000 We need to fix our health care system.
00:16:35.000 It's a financing problem, the third-party payer system.
00:16:38.000 So we have to take on these big issues, put America back on a path of fiscal sustainability.
00:16:45.000 And then we need to start reducing the size of government.
00:16:47.000 I'd love to have a presidential candidate run on a platform that, no, we're going to actually shrink government.
00:16:53.000 We're going to take a look at these departments that have just sprung up that are not as part of the enumerated powers.
00:16:58.000 We're going to send that governing authority back to the states.
00:17:01.000 That was the foundational premise of this nation.
00:17:03.000 Government close to the government to where it's more accountable, more efficient, more effective.
00:17:09.000 So that's what we need to do.
00:17:11.000 Long-term process, but we need to return governing authority back to the states, back to a local government.
00:17:17.000 We need a constitutional reset.
00:17:19.000 We really do.
00:17:20.000 So, Senator, I want to thank you for your leadership on bodily autonomy in the military and the National Guard.
00:17:26.000 You've been really leading on this.
00:17:28.000 So, enrollment in the military is the lowest that it has been since 1973, right near the Vietnam era.
00:17:36.000 And yet, we are discharging some of our heroes that are healthy because they do not want to take the vaccine.
00:17:43.000 Can you comment on this?
00:17:44.000 Because you've been one of the few senators courageous enough to speak out about how wrong this is.
00:17:50.000 Well, first of all, to just cover lower recruitment numbers, can you blame people that don't want to join the military?
00:17:56.000 That's now concerned more about, I guess, gender equity and other woke liberal policies as opposed to fighting, defending our freedom.
00:18:06.000 I'm highly concerned about the destruction going on because of wokeness, because we're not focused on readiness.
00:18:12.000 We're more concerned about wokeness.
00:18:13.000 And I'm highly concerned about the destructive impact of these vaccine mandates, which are pointless.
00:18:19.000 They are idiotic.
00:18:21.000 You could maybe understand if the vaccine were preventing infection and transmission, but they're not.
00:18:27.000 And so, what is the point?
00:18:29.000 We are talking about potentially hundreds of pilots.
00:18:32.000 I don't know how many thousands of other service members.
00:18:35.000 I know just in the VA, we could be talking about thousands, if not tens of thousands of VA workers.
00:18:42.000 They are seeing, by the way, the vaccine injuries.
00:18:44.000 They're not going to get the vaccine.
00:18:46.000 And so they'll be dismissed, and we won't have those healthcare workers in a situation where we already have a severe shortage of healthcare workers throughout our healthcare industry, but we won't have them there to take care of our veterans.
00:18:59.000 So no matter how you slice it, this is a travesty of an idiotic, stupid policy being pushed on by the Biden administration.
00:19:08.000 I think they're primarily pushy because they just simply can't admit they've been wrong about their policies in the past.
00:19:14.000 I really hope that's the explanation, Senator.
00:19:16.000 I hope it's just kind of arrogance and pride.
00:19:19.000 I hope it's not about an agenda trying to purge the military.
00:19:22.000 I hope it's not about that because it seems as if we are trying to weaken the finest fighting force the world has ever known.
00:19:30.000 And so, yes, you're right.
00:19:31.000 With the Navy coming out and they're doing proper pronouns to go to safe spaces, if you don't say that, the Navy, Senator.
00:19:38.000 And we have West Point teaching CRT and Air Force bases doing drag queen performances.
00:19:44.000 And you have the United States Navy and Marines changing their logo to the rainbow flag.
00:19:48.000 It makes you wonder.
00:19:50.000 It doesn't actually make us wonder, but how an 18-year-old says, yeah, actually, I'm not going to enlist in this.
00:19:56.000 The military is now thinking of dropping the high school diploma requirement in order to get in the military to try to meet their enrollment numbers.
00:20:04.000 I mean, this is a major national security issue.
00:20:07.000 If we cannot build a volunteer fighting force, this should take pause.
00:20:11.000 I mean, dude, Democrats seem to be unfazed by this, but I imagine this is something that the entire Republican conference is very worried about.
00:20:20.000 I certainly hope so.
00:20:21.000 And regardless of the intent, it's certainly having the impact of weakening our military.
00:20:26.000 And let's face it, the Biden administration across the board, all their policies are weakening this country.
00:20:30.000 Open borders, the 40-year high inflation, the rising crime, the record gasoline prices, this concentration on wokeness as opposed to military readiness.
00:20:40.000 I'm highly concerned about our nuclear deterrent.
00:20:43.000 We need to continue to modernize our nuclear weapons so that they're an adequate deterrent.
00:20:49.000 And again, when you're focusing on, as you said, gender identity, those types of things, what is your pronoun?
00:20:56.000 You're not concentrating on keeping our fighting force ready to really confront the adversaries that are taking advantage of our weakness.
00:21:03.000 It's terrible.
00:21:04.000 Senator, how can people support you and help your campaign?
00:21:08.000 Ron Johnsonforsenate.com is my main website.
00:21:13.000 If you're looking for rebuttals to all the false attacks, all the lies, all the politics of personal destruction, you go to WISP Facts.
00:21:20.000 And I just write out my rebuttals to all the lies.
00:21:23.000 Let's face it, Democrats are not constrained by the truth.
00:21:26.000 And they lie and they distort.
00:21:28.000 And again, they engage the politics of personal destruction because they can't defend their disastrous records.
00:21:33.000 But it's Ron Johnson for Senate.com.
00:21:35.000 Again, I'm sure it's probably north of $40 million by now because they're spending at an unprecedented rate.
00:21:41.000 I'm going to need a lot of help and support if we're going to save this U.S. Senate seat, which is crucial to us taking back the majority.
00:21:46.000 And again, standing athwart history and just yelling, stop.
00:21:50.000 It's well said.
00:21:50.000 Senator, thank you so much.
00:21:52.000 We are behind you, and we need more senators like you.
00:21:54.000 Thank you so much.
00:21:56.000 Have a great day.
00:21:57.000 Stay well.
00:21:57.000 Thank you.
00:22:01.000 Look, we know rates are inching up and they're still historically low.
00:22:04.000 But if you're tired of the high cost of renting, there's still time to buy a home.
00:22:07.000 And I was just talking about this on our program.
00:22:09.000 You got to buy.
00:22:10.000 And by the way, you could always refinance.
00:22:11.000 If you think rates are too high, you could always refinance.
00:22:13.000 So go to andrewandodd.com.
00:22:15.000 They're the ones to contact right now to get you financing into your new home.
00:22:19.000 They're not just mortgage brokers, they're lenders with Sierra Mortgage.
00:22:23.000 They've been through multiple ups and downs and economic markets, like you can imagine, just like the ones we're seeing today.
00:22:28.000 So you just got to go to AndrewandTodd.com.
00:22:30.000 Whether you're considering owning versus renting or seeking a safer haven for your family in a new state, now is the time to get a pre-approved loan to give you the edge over other buyers.
00:22:39.000 I know Andrew and Todd.
00:22:40.000 They're great Americans.
00:22:41.000 We hang out together.
00:22:42.000 They love the Lord.
00:22:43.000 They're great people.
00:22:44.000 So just go to AndrewandTodd.com.
00:22:46.000 Do not wait.
00:22:47.000 Get your pre-approved loan today while rates are still historically low.
00:22:52.000 And by the way, again, some of you might say, oh, Charlie, I'm going to wait for the rates to go down and all this.
00:22:57.000 Okay.
00:22:57.000 Well, then what if the property is worth twice as much in three years because there's so many dollar bills out there?
00:23:02.000 AndrewandTodd.com, AndrewandTodd.com can guide you through all of this.
00:23:06.000 And remember, you can always refinance.
00:23:07.000 So go to AndrewandTodd.com.
00:23:12.000 What if I told you Republicans might be messing up the inevitable?
00:23:16.000 A lot of people think a red wave is a sure thing, but we didn't fix our elections in many states.
00:23:23.000 And we have some major problems, everybody.
00:23:26.000 And Richard Barris is the one that is trying to pull the fire alarm, ring the bell, and say the British are coming.
00:23:34.000 Let's see who listens.
00:23:35.000 Richard Barris is with us right now.
00:23:36.000 Richard, welcome back to the program.
00:23:39.000 Hey, Charlie, thanks for having me back.
00:23:41.000 As always, it's good to be here.
00:23:43.000 So, the generic ballot is tightening.
00:23:45.000 Tell us what's happening and why it's happening.
00:23:49.000 So, it is tightening.
00:23:50.000 That is real.
00:23:51.000 So, you know, there are some out there that are having it hold around Republican plus five or six, others that are now down to two or three.
00:23:59.000 That would still look any Republican popular vote victory is a gain.
00:24:04.000 I do think it's a foregone conclusion at this point that Republicans are going to take the House.
00:24:09.000 They're so shy away, even with redistricting, they're favored to net a few seats.
00:24:14.000 But I mean, Charlie, with the president as unpopular as he is, and by that, historically unpopular, since Truman, nobody has been more unpopular this early in their first term as Joe Biden.
00:24:28.000 He is the most unpopular new president in modern American history.
00:24:33.000 Right track, wrong track is historically negative.
00:24:37.000 These are all the metrics and the indicators that really matter most to forecasters.
00:24:41.000 Economics matter as well, and they're abysmal.
00:24:45.000 Now, there are caps because some districts, Republicans just don't have a prayer in, just like Democrats don't have a prayer in some districts under normal circumstances as well.
00:24:56.000 But what they're doing right now, and what we're seeing in these battleground districts, is it's real convenient to blame abortion.
00:25:03.000 It's real convenient to blame the January 6th committee, whatever it is that you want to blame.
00:25:10.000 The fact is, Republicans are starting to say things to me like, What's the point?
00:25:15.000 They're all the same.
00:25:16.000 What's the point?
00:25:17.000 They just passed a gun bill.
00:25:19.000 What's the point?
00:25:20.000 Kevin McCarthy is talking about constitutional protections for abortion after Roe v. Wade.
00:25:26.000 So decades and decades of fighting these fights just to have their leaders within 24 hours stab them in the back to an issue that's near and dear to their heart.
00:25:35.000 They're killing enthusiasm.
00:25:37.000 They are.
00:25:38.000 So it's the difference between, you know, a pickup in that, you know, minor pickup in the House and maybe a tied Senate or a blowout, you know, and a several seat Senate gain, you know, several seat Senate majority.
00:25:53.000 That is really what they're flirting with destroying right now.
00:25:56.000 So the conventional wisdom is what you articulated, where people say, okay, we can't, we can expect Roe v. Wade to hurt us as Republicans.
00:26:06.000 And so we just might as well take it.
00:26:07.000 You're saying that's not actually the case.
00:26:09.000 You don't think it's because of Roe.
00:26:11.000 Complete nonsense.
00:26:11.000 You think it's Republican weakness, the inability to project division.
00:26:16.000 What do Republicans need to do to fix this?
00:26:21.000 It's not too late.
00:26:22.000 Voting hasn't started yet.
00:26:23.000 Enthusiasm is there on the Republican side.
00:26:25.000 People are sick of inflation.
00:26:26.000 They're sick of gas prices.
00:26:27.000 I know this in Arizona, people that are Democrats are stopping me in grocery stores and be like, I hate you and I hate conservatives and I'm voting Republican.
00:26:35.000 I'm like, oh, thanks.
00:26:36.000 Have a nice day.
00:26:36.000 So, I mean, how do you mess that up?
00:26:40.000 Yeah, I got to tell you, you know, just pretend to be what you claim to be or just be quiet and do nothing.
00:26:48.000 I mean, really, that's all they have to do is basically just take their hand off the wheel.
00:26:52.000 But the better thing to do, Charlie, would be to defend your voters.
00:26:56.000 Democrats have a very rosy view of their own leaders.
00:26:59.000 I've been on your show.
00:27:00.000 I've showed you Kevin McCarthy's favorability ratings, Mitch McConnell's favorability ratings.
00:27:07.000 The devils are really, the devil really is in the detail.
00:27:10.000 Mitch McConnell has a higher, very favorable rating among Democrats than he does among Republicans in our poll.
00:27:17.000 Kevin McCarthy started the year with about 32, 31% saying they didn't know enough about him to form an opinion.
00:27:24.000 We're now down to the low 20s and his very unfavorable has swollen.
00:27:28.000 And that's because Republicans don't like their own leaders.
00:27:32.000 Nancy Pelosi has the highest unfit, very unfavorable.
00:27:36.000 But if you ask Democrats, they circle the wagon around her.
00:27:39.000 Schumer, he's not looking great either, but at least his own party likes him.
00:27:43.000 That's because Democrats feel represented and they are represented.
00:27:47.000 Republicans feel like they're betrayed all the time because they are betrayed all the time.
00:27:52.000 You know, so basically, you know, in the end, Charlie, I mean, people you need them pumped.
00:27:57.000 You need your base pump and you need the independents that lean your way to be pumped.
00:28:03.000 All you, you know, I would, you could stay quiet, but I would suggest more than that.
00:28:08.000 You know, this leadership reminds the Republican and right-leaning voter every day in this country why they took a chance on Donald J. Trump in the first place, because at least he fought, because at least he defended them.
00:28:21.000 You know, you gave you Democrats and you gave Republicans with a once upon a time Republicans now who have an identity crisis.
00:28:31.000 They don't know what they identify as.
00:28:33.000 You gave these people carte blanche in the January 6th committee to basically smear you as domestic terrorists, and you're doing nothing.
00:28:41.000 You're saying nothing.
00:28:42.000 There's no cross-examination.
00:28:44.000 There's no adversarial relationship.
00:28:47.000 It's just a smear fest.
00:28:49.000 And the more they do that, the more they try to distract away from ridiculously high gas prices, the more they try to distract away from $55 billion blown in Ukraine with no benefit whatsoever.
00:29:02.000 I mean, the Ukraine thing started it.
00:29:05.000 I have to be honest.
00:29:06.000 This party is not a party for intervention anymore.
00:29:10.000 Are there still some who, you know, well, Putin's a bad guy and we should back Ukraine?
00:29:15.000 Yeah, but they were a 30% minority at best the entire time.
00:29:20.000 And yet they govern like that's the majority.
00:29:23.000 And again, Kevin, I've said this, and I know I've ticked, I got a lot of calls at the end of last week and over the weekend for running on shows and doing this, but it's true.
00:29:32.000 And Republican voters should know it.
00:29:33.000 Kevin McCarthy is counting votes.
00:29:35.000 He's not counting seats.
00:29:38.000 So, you know, you spend a million dollars to go after Michael Cassidy and save Mike Guest in Mississippi III.
00:29:44.000 How much could that have done to win the new open seat in CD13 in California?
00:29:48.000 It would have gone a long way.
00:29:49.000 What's the difference?
00:29:50.000 Mike Cassidy may not have voted for him.
00:29:52.000 Michael Guest would.
00:29:56.000 And by the way, in CD13 in California, it doesn't matter who wins to Kevin.
00:30:00.000 The Democrat can win for all he cares.
00:30:01.000 Adam Gray will vote for him.
00:30:03.000 They've known each other.
00:30:04.000 They're a click.
00:30:05.000 So he's counting votes.
00:30:07.000 And it's tragic for the Republican voter.
00:30:10.000 You know, there's an article in Real Coopolitics, a great article.
00:30:14.000 It says Republicans are capped at 247.
00:30:16.000 I actually think that's a generally modest performance for an out-of-party power in a first-term incumbent midterm.
00:30:24.000 If Republicans are going to break their 24-7 cap, this would be the year to do it.
00:30:29.000 When they're swinging states, whole states by 12 or more points, when they're swinging states like New Jersey, especially in southern New Jersey, 20 plus points, this would be the time to do it.
00:30:41.000 And instead, they are hell-bent on doing what they do best, which is snatch mediocrity from the hands of greatness.
00:30:53.000 To mess up the inevitable.
00:30:54.000 We have a minute and a half remaining here, Richard.
00:30:56.000 I want to go around the horn.
00:30:58.000 So let's talk about Arizona.
00:30:59.000 I know Mark Kelly is nervous in Arizona.
00:31:01.000 Polls show it's tightening, but he has $50 million of hard money.
00:31:05.000 The ads that Mark Kelly is running is on conservative media, by the way, and he's running ads.
00:31:10.000 It's a very interesting advertisement.
00:31:12.000 It shows Mark Kelly with his whole thing where he looks like a tough guy.
00:31:18.000 And they have a Fox News, literally a Fox News logo.
00:31:22.000 Have you seen this ad Connor that they're doing?
00:31:24.000 It's so smart, whatever Democrat operative.
00:31:26.000 Yeah, it's brilliant.
00:31:27.000 They have a Fox News logo next to Mark Kelly that shows some sort of headline that shows Mark Kelly pressured Biden over gas prices.
00:31:35.000 So they're literally showing a logo of something on Fox News that you would like next to Kelly.
00:31:41.000 I want to ask you about Arizona.
00:31:42.000 I want to ask you about Georgia.
00:31:43.000 I want to ask you about Pennsylvania.
00:31:45.000 I'm going to about Ohio.
00:31:46.000 I think JD's fine in Ohio.
00:31:47.000 I think that race is going to be just fine.
00:31:49.000 It's just structurally not possible.
00:31:52.000 I think Marco Rubio will be fine.
00:31:53.000 I want to ask you about Ron Johnson.
00:31:55.000 I want to ask you, I want to go around the horn.
00:31:57.000 I want to kind of do a little bit of a back and forth here.
00:31:59.000 Let's do it.
00:31:59.000 I think it's really important because the primaries are ending.
00:32:03.000 Now, all the prerequisites for Republicans doing well, we're seeing in the primaries.
00:32:08.000 High turnout, low Democrat turnout expanded voter registration.
00:32:11.000 We're seeing all of the foundations that would mean a red wave.
00:32:16.000 But if Republicans keep on betraying their voters, I know people that are similar to you, Richard, and they say, oh, what's the point in voting?
00:32:23.000 Now, hilariously, the Republican establishment's been calling me the last couple of days.
00:32:26.000 You know what they've been telling me?
00:32:27.000 That it's my fault because I hit the Republicans so that I'm telling voters not to vote Republican.
00:32:33.000 Like, oh, yeah, it's my fault that I expose the fact you betray your voters.
00:32:37.000 Incredible.
00:32:38.000 Arizona, how do you feel?
00:32:40.000 Yeah, Blake Masters, no doubt, has a lead there, but you said it before the break.
00:32:43.000 Mark Kelly has a ton of money.
00:32:46.000 You know, I honestly would say this flat out.
00:32:48.000 Donald Trump is going to have to get on the campaign trail this cycle.
00:32:52.000 And as he saved the Senate single-handedly in 2018 from being taken, he's going to have to win it back.
00:33:02.000 You know, so that's not a dig on any of the other candidates.
00:33:05.000 Arizona, the reason why I'm saying that, to be quick, let me paint the target for them.
00:33:09.000 Males 30 to 54 years old, working.
00:33:13.000 They self-describe as either independent, maybe they describe as independent or something else.
00:33:18.000 And ideologically, they're moderate to conservatives.
00:33:21.000 Donald Trump thrashed Joe Biden with that group.
00:33:24.000 They're low propensity voters on that spectrum, but Trump can get them out.
00:33:29.000 Martha McSally split them with Kelly, which was the difference between, you know, that was a major reason for the difference in their margin at the presidential level with the senatorial level.
00:33:39.000 Blake Masters is that kind of candidate that can win those guys.
00:33:43.000 And, you know, with the help, he can get them out.
00:33:47.000 But big war chest, and you've got to overcome it with a larger turnout.
00:33:51.000 So that's Arizona.
00:33:53.000 Where are we going to go next?
00:33:53.000 Herschel Walker, Raphael Wernock.
00:33:55.000 Is it safe to say Herschel is going to beat Raphael?
00:33:58.000 He's got to write the ship.
00:34:00.000 Look, I don't think he's down 10 points.
00:34:02.000 We've done three polls in Georgia.
00:34:03.000 Two of them.
00:34:04.000 Yeah.
00:34:05.000 Oh, no, all three of them were this year.
00:34:07.000 And Walker's lead ranged from about two to five points.
00:34:10.000 He's had some missteps.
00:34:11.000 But look, even if you look inside that Quinnipiak poll, I could bite a tie.
00:34:16.000 I could even bite a Warnock plus two, depending on how you did it.
00:34:19.000 But a Warnock plus 10, to me, is nuts.
00:34:21.000 All right.
00:34:22.000 You can't win two-thirds of the white vote, win whites with college degrees and without college degrees, and be double digits in the state of Georgia among black voters and be down by 10 points.
00:34:33.000 Quinnipiak should be investigated by the federal beer investigation for fraud.
00:34:38.000 They had Biden up 17.
00:34:40.000 Remember that one poll that came out?
00:34:42.000 Yep.
00:34:42.000 Back in 2020?
00:34:43.000 I mean, and five in Ohio.
00:34:47.000 It was a 15-point miss, Charlie.
00:34:49.000 15 points.
00:34:50.000 They add him up by one in Iowa.
00:34:52.000 No, these are suppression polls.
00:34:53.000 That's what these are.
00:34:54.000 These are suppression polls.
00:34:55.000 Okay, Pennsylvania Mehmet Oz versus the big man.
00:34:59.000 Can't remember his name.
00:35:00.000 What do you think?
00:35:02.000 Yeah, Oz has got some consolidating still to do with Fetterman.
00:35:06.000 There are a lot of Barnett voters that are still upset.
00:35:09.000 That's the difference between him and Doug Mastriano out there.
00:35:12.000 There's not a lot of independence in the state of Pennsylvania.
00:35:15.000 So there'll be 14%, maybe 18 tops of the electorate.
00:35:19.000 It's a very strong two-party state, meaning you're either Republican or you're Democrat.
00:35:24.000 I still do think, though, that Suffolk poll that came out, that's a perfect example.
00:35:27.000 If 15% of the electorate tells you their number one issue is Donald Trump, you may have polled too much of the Metro suburbs.
00:35:35.000 I mean, God, throw up a red flag.
00:35:37.000 Nobody is voting on Donald Trump this year.
00:35:40.000 Very few anyway.
00:35:41.000 Very few.
00:35:42.000 But I think Fetterman's strong, even with his medical condition, he's looking every guy candid, every kind of guy candidate.
00:35:49.000 Central casting for a fraud is what he is.
00:35:51.000 Yeah, you got it.
00:35:53.000 It's their job to do that.
00:35:54.000 But again, magic, Trump.
00:35:56.000 He's so popular in the state of Pennsylvania.
00:35:58.000 Well, I know.
00:35:58.000 Get him out there.
00:35:59.000 Fetterman, it's just as if you were to go to a Hollywood casting agency and say, give us somebody that can be a far left winger, but look like a radical Republican.
00:36:10.000 That's where you're going to be.
00:36:11.000 He is way too far to the left for Pennsylvania.
00:36:13.000 He ideologically.
00:36:14.000 I know, but you look at him, you're like, oh, I'd like to have a beer with him.
00:36:17.000 Like, no, you wouldn't.
00:36:19.000 Okay.
00:36:19.000 So maybe get in front of him, realize he can't drink anymore.
00:36:22.000 He just had a stroke.
00:36:24.000 Ron Johnson in Wisconsin.
00:36:25.000 What do you think?
00:36:27.000 Ron is always underestimated, isn't he?
00:36:30.000 He's always down in the polls.
00:36:32.000 They love him.
00:36:32.000 And he was one of the first ones to be called on election night in 2016.
00:36:36.000 One of the first ones.
00:36:37.000 Wisconsin is a state, Charlie, where they cannot poll worth their, you know what?
00:36:42.000 They can't do it.
00:36:43.000 That's right.
00:36:43.000 It's two-thirds rural, and they're constantly Milwaukee and it's Dean County and Milwaukee County.
00:36:49.000 Yeah, Madison.
00:36:50.000 Yeah.
00:36:50.000 I mean, it's ridiculous.
00:36:53.000 So, you know, it'll be a close race.
00:36:55.000 Wisconsin's close, but I think he's, in the end, Ron Johnson's going to win it.
00:36:58.000 We just had Ron on the show.
00:36:59.000 Senator Johnson is very smart with his vote on the gun bill.
00:37:02.000 You do not vote for gun control going into deer hunting season.
00:37:05.000 It's just, that's just not what you do.
00:37:08.000 Not a good look.
00:37:09.000 Nope.
00:37:09.000 Really dumb.
00:37:10.000 I mean, what are the chances we win back the Senate?
00:37:12.000 Still early.
00:37:12.000 It's July, but I think that we're going to have a real recession.
00:37:15.000 I think Republicans are going to get on message.
00:37:17.000 This January 6th committee thing, I think, is going to evaporate.
00:37:20.000 And unless there's some big surprise that we don't know about.
00:37:23.000 So what do you think, all things being equal?
00:37:26.000 We're only in July.
00:37:27.000 Gas prices really just started to rise for the summer.
00:37:31.000 I think we're going to feel that.
00:37:32.000 People are going to, they're going to take mention of that again.
00:37:35.000 A lot of times these enthusiasm dips are temporary.
00:37:39.000 Republicans can hope, you know, safely that that's the case.
00:37:43.000 Look, I got Adam Malaxall in Nevada, right?
00:37:46.000 In the Silver State.
00:37:47.000 He's like royalty there.
00:37:48.000 He's put together every single wing of the coalition.
00:37:51.000 And honestly, I think he's going to take that.
00:37:53.000 That would be huge.
00:37:54.000 There's so much fraud there.
00:37:55.000 So we got to have Richard Harris back at another time, big data polls.
00:37:58.000 And if I do my job, I'm going to persuade him to join us for election night.
00:38:02.000 But that's going to be quite a feat to pull off.
00:38:04.000 Thank you, Richard.
