We are in no way affiliated with the White House, the Vice President s campaign, or the Democratic National Committee, but we are with President Trump and the President's campaign on this issue. I think the American people are increasingly on our side here in the polls, and it turns out that Joe Biden has been running TV ads on the campaign against Donald Trump on the issue of mass deportations. I think it s going to be a disaster, but maybe not as bad as you think. 00:01:38.000 Just a quick news item.
00:01:40.000 We had Clayton from The Bachelor on a couple weeks ago about his lawsuit, his potential lawsuit, against this woman that wrongly accused him.
00:01:51.000 You remember that whole thing?
00:01:52.000 He won his case and he believes that this is now going to the county attorney for prosecution after she wrongly accused him.
00:02:01.000 of something that was really bad.
00:02:03.000 So that's just a amazing update.
00:02:06.000 And maybe the legal system isn't totally dead.
00:02:09.000 So praise God.
00:02:10.000 Okay, so joining us now is Coach Tommy Tuberville, Senator from the great state of Alabama.
00:02:16.000 Senator, welcome to the program.
00:02:17.000 Senator, I want to start talking about this question of how many illegals might vote in this upcoming election.
00:02:22.000 What information can you share in that regard?
00:02:25.000 Well, who knows, Charlie.
00:02:27.000 This is a disaster.
00:02:29.000 This is the biggest nightmare this country's had in years and years.
00:02:34.000 It's embarrassing to know how many people that we've let come across.
00:02:39.000 You know, Joe Biden, every day, it seems like there's 100,000, 200,000, 300,000 that he
00:02:45.000 releases from asylum problems.
00:02:49.000 And so we really don't know.
00:02:51.000 You know, there's 19 states right now that give illegals driver's license.
00:02:57.000 And you know, if you get a driver's license, you can somehow some way register to vote.
00:03:03.000 So we got a huge problem.
00:03:05.000 You know, we can correct our justice system.
00:03:07.000 We can correct our education, the crime going across the country.
00:03:11.000 We can correct all that.
00:03:13.000 We can't correct with 10 million people coming across our borders in the last three years unless President Trump really, really comes up with a great scheme of getting these people back out of the country, back to where they belong.
00:03:25.000 So I'm curious.
00:03:28.000 Again, it's against the law to verify their citizenship, except amazingly in Arizona.
00:03:33.000 Arizona is one of the only states where it is now the law to verify citizenship.
00:03:38.000 So that's terrific.
00:03:40.000 62% of Americans support mass deportation.
00:03:42.000 Coach, does 62% of the U.S.
00:03:44.000 Senate support mass deportation?
00:03:46.000 Yeah, I think, well, not 62%.
00:03:48.000 I think you could say about 50-50.
00:03:50.000 I'm not sure we even have some of the rhinos that are for it, but I think we're pretty close to that.
00:03:56.000 But again, we have no other option.
00:03:59.000 Unless we want to continue down the path of Europe, what they've done to their countries the last 10, 12, 14 years in terms of mass migration and letting people come in that don't want to go by the rules, the laws, their customs, and they just want to do their own thing.
00:04:14.000 We're about 10 years behind Europe, maybe less than 10 years, and it's coming at a fast pace with what Obama and Biden have done to our country in the last 10-14 years.
00:04:25.000 It really is something else.
00:04:26.000 And so just one more comment on this, Coach.
00:04:29.000 I think the American people are increasingly on our side here.
00:04:32.000 Joe Biden has been running ads on television accusing Donald Trump of mass deportations.
00:04:39.000 But it turns out that's actually probably helping the Trump campaign.
00:04:43.000 So tell us more.
00:04:45.000 It seems as if this is not only the right issue, but more so than any other time, this is the winning political issue, mass deportations and securing our southern border.
00:04:54.000 Yeah, President Trump beat Hillary Clinton because of this one policy.
00:05:00.000 I think people across the country are sick and tired of not having a wall.
00:05:03.000 They're sick and tired of the crime that comes across the borders that are not checked.
00:05:08.000 And they're sick and tired of the Democrats standing up for the illegals.
00:05:12.000 more than they are for the people, the citizens that pay the taxes in this country. They're sick
00:05:16.000 and tired of that. And so this is going to be a winning issue. We hope that Joe Biden continues
00:05:21.000 down this path or whoever's running for president. I'm not so sure he's going to be the candidate,
00:05:28.000 but whoever runs, they're going to have to run on these same policies. And that's the reason that
00:05:32.000 President Trump has continued to gain momentum and situations like what happened in Baltimore
00:05:38.000 this past week with this young lady being murdered by an illegal just continues down
00:05:43.000 the path of, hey, we've got to make a change here because it's best for the country.
00:05:48.000 So you yourself took a picture of Joe Biden at a ceremony in Normandy, and then Karine Jean-Pierre had some comments on this.
00:05:55.000 Play cut 77.
00:05:56.000 Yeah, and I think you all have called this the cheap fakes video.
00:06:00.000 And that's exactly what they are.
00:06:01.000 They are cheap fakes video.
00:06:03.000 They are done in bad faith.
00:06:05.000 And some of your news organization have been very clear, have stressed that these right wing, the right wing critics of the president have a credibility problem because of the fact checkers have repeatedly caught them pushing misinformation, disinformation.
00:06:22.000 And so we see this and this is something coming from From your your part of the world calling them cheap fakes and misinformation.
00:06:31.000 So what exactly did you see, Coach?
00:06:33.000 Walk us through it.
00:06:34.000 Well, first of all, I was very disappointed what happened to there was 200 veterans that were there that actually landed in Normandy.
00:06:42.000 Only 200 remaining that are still alive.
00:06:44.000 The average age was 101, Charlie, and they all came in in wheelchairs
00:06:49.000 and they got their own time, ready to go at 1230.
00:06:52.000 Joe Biden shows up about what, 130, an hour late.
00:06:56.000 He left these people there that are over 100 years old out in the sun, in the cool weather
00:07:00.000 if they were in the shade.
00:07:02.000 And then Joe Biden comes stumbling out there on stage.
00:07:05.000 His wife's always got her hands on him to make sure he knows where to go and what to do.
00:07:10.000 And then I just happened to be taking this picture of him just dozing off.
00:07:14.000 I'm thinking, you know, I'm close.
00:07:16.000 I'm probably about 20 feet from him.
00:07:19.000 I didn't do it for any other reason.
00:07:21.000 I just got to get a picture to kind of send back to.
00:07:24.000 My staff to where they could put something up online and he just happened to be dozing off at that time.
00:07:28.000 So this is not fake news that the talking heads have there in the White House.
00:07:34.000 This is all news.
00:07:35.000 We've seen it for three years.
00:07:37.000 Come on.
00:07:38.000 They need to get a new life and try to get this guy across the finish line, their guy across the finish line.
00:07:44.000 Just tell the truth.
00:07:45.000 I think the American people would appreciate more of the truth other than kind of go around the facts.
00:07:50.000 Yeah, and this is a pretty remarkable thing, so I'm just curious, did Macron have to nudge him to stay awake?
00:07:56.000 Yeah, I noticed him looking over and kind of making some faces a couple of times about the actions and what was going on between he and his wife during the whole ceremony.
00:08:07.000 His wife wouldn't even, she wouldn't even acknowledge, she wouldn't even look over, because you can tell there was something going on with Joe at that time.
00:08:17.000 Of course, when you're on Normandy time, what is that, seven, eight hours difference?
00:08:21.000 And you can tell he hadn't adjusted to the time, but I don't think you ever adjust to any time.
00:08:26.000 He's just a guy that's having huge problems, and his health is going down every day, and they can't hide it.
00:08:32.000 They're trying to, but they can't hide it.
00:08:34.000 He's got to get out and personally do something.
00:08:37.000 And I think next week, Will be the telling tale for President Biden with the debate coming up.
00:08:43.000 If he can handle his own, they might let him stay in the race.
00:08:46.000 But if he kind of sinks in his seat and freezes a couple of times, that'll be the end of Joe Biden's run for the second term.
00:08:57.000 And Biden keeps on freezing.
00:08:58.000 And this one's amazing.
00:08:59.000 This is from the Los Angeles fundraiser.
00:09:01.000 We haven't played this yet on the program.
00:09:02.000 Can we play Cut 78 here with Jimmy Kimmel and Barack Obama?
00:09:05.000 Now, Coach, you've dealt with a fair amount of concussed football players in the past.
00:09:16.000 What am I looking at here?
00:09:18.000 He's got huge problems.
00:09:19.000 He has mental lapses.
00:09:21.000 You know, what happened the first two years, Charlie, we can all remember them letting Joe Biden go out and try to push him through these press conferences or speeches, and then he would turn around, shake hands with a ghost, try to walk off the wrong side of the stage, looking for an exit ramp.
00:09:35.000 And everybody, we all kept saying, somebody please help the man.
00:09:39.000 You know, the President of the United States doesn't need to look this way.
00:09:42.000 Can you imagine what the leaders across the world are saying about Joe Biden at this time?
00:09:48.000 Now, they're obviously putting people on stage with him, and their former President Obama had to Grab him.
00:09:55.000 He'd probably still be standing there had President Biden not been there or President Obama been there to lead him off.
00:10:01.000 But it's just a sad state of affairs.
00:10:03.000 Unfortunately, he's the President of the United States and we're looking down the barrel of a gun of three wars.
00:10:07.000 Inflation just skyrocketing.
00:10:09.000 We have no Justice Department.
00:10:12.000 Everything is just going haywire.
00:10:14.000 And here's a guy that he's really a sick man.
00:10:17.000 He is coach.
00:10:18.000 Thank you for your leadership.
00:10:19.000 And I don't know if Joe Biden's going to remain in, if they pull them, that will be, that'll be something else.
00:10:24.000 And I just want to make sure you are getting your colleagues ready.
00:10:27.000 July 11th.
00:10:27.000 If they put Donald Trump in a prison cell on July 11th, we're going to need a counter from Congress.
00:10:33.000 We're going to need all true, all hands on deck.
00:10:35.000 Thank you, coach.
00:10:36.000 Thank you, Charlie.

00:11:34.000 That is patriotmobile.com slash charlie.
00:11:36.000 Patriotmobile.com slash charlie.
00:11:42.000 I wanna read a portion of the book here, Right Wing Revolution, that you guys can find at 45books.com.
00:11:47.000 One of the most important selections that Donald Trump will make is for the Attorney General.
00:11:53.000 They're trying to put Steve Bannon in a security situation, or lack thereof, where he will get murdered or raped.
00:12:01.000 That is what Aaron Burnett said last evening on CNN.
00:12:04.000 They're gonna try to throw Donald Trump in prison before the election, and we need to be ready for that.
00:12:09.000 We need a game plan.
00:12:11.000 What does that look like?
00:12:13.000 What does the game plan look like if Donald Trump is put in a prison cell in July, August, September, October?
00:12:20.000 He's the candidate.
00:12:21.000 He's the guy.
00:12:22.000 That VP selection needs to happen immediately.
00:12:25.000 I write in Right Wing Revolution on page 158.
00:12:28.000 By the way, I'm signing a bunch of copies right now for those of you that are registering 25 plus voters.
00:12:33.000 I just sent out a couple more.
00:12:35.000 If any arm of the government has grown drunk on its power and sense of entitlement, it is the FBI.
00:12:40.000 The FBI likes to cultivate the impression that it is somehow an autonomous arm of government, not subject to the elected chief executive.
00:12:48.000 Based on this, it does things like launch investigations of active presidential campaigns because its personnel don't like the campaign positions on Russia.
00:12:56.000 It does things like entrap lockdown opponents in a cockamamie plot to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer.
00:13:02.000 It dispatches agents to target Latin mass attendees.
00:13:06.000 It labels anti-CRT parents as domestic extremists.
00:13:11.000 The next Republican president can't simply fire Christopher Wray, name a replacement, hope for the best.
00:13:15.000 That's what we did with James Comey and we all saw what happened there.
00:13:19.000 Instead, it's time to have an attorney general and FBI director who will actively monitor what the FBI is up to.
00:13:25.000 Former Trump staffer James Bacon came on my show in summer 2023 and described a surprising role model conservatives should look to.
00:13:31.000 Dick Cheney.
00:13:33.000 Cheney was such an active president at the Department of Defense that he had his own office set up at the Pentagon.
00:13:39.000 Cheney, he said, understood that the only way to make sure the administration's priorities were executed was to give bureaucrats orders face to face.
00:13:49.000 J.D.
00:13:49.000 Katie Vance, or whomever Donald Trump's VP should do.
00:13:54.000 Once a week, have the Attorney General walk across the street to the FBI building and
00:13:58.000 review all the cases they're working on.
00:14:01.000 If he finds a weird case, like targeting a conservative group for partisan reasons, he
00:14:04.000 should say, this case is closed.
00:14:07.000 Thanks.
00:14:08.000 And who thought this was a good idea?
00:14:09.000 Pack your stuff and get out.
00:14:11.000 Active management is the order of the day.
00:14:13.000 Boss people around.
00:14:16.000 Included in this book, Right Wing Revolution, is a blueprint for how Trump should govern.
00:14:20.000 So what I talk about here is whoever the Attorney General is, maybe it's Mark Paoletta, walks over, show me all the cases.
00:14:27.000 This one's deleted.
00:14:29.000 This one's deleted.
00:14:30.000 Not doing this.
00:14:31.000 Not doing this.
00:14:32.000 Drop this case and do these five.
00:14:35.000 That's how the Attorney General should operate.
00:14:37.000 Instead, Bill Barr and Rod Rosenstein before, and a little bit of Jeff Sessions, they were the ones that were working for the employees.
00:14:47.000 The employees were not working for them.
00:14:50.000 Taking command and control of the Department of Justice is one of the most important things we can do.
00:14:59.000 Active management is the order of the day, and we need to boss people around.
00:15:05.000 Again, Dick Cheney understood that this was the way to operate.
00:15:10.000 I continue by saying that we need to lay off the State Department.
00:15:15.000 Revoke the orders once the President has prioritized crafting an executive branch that actually obeys him.
00:15:21.000 At the outside of this chapter, I mentioned that President repealing Executive Order 11246.
00:15:27.000 No more backstabbers.
00:15:29.000 We have, by the way, the detail in this book of exactly what the President should do.
00:15:33.000 Revive Executive Order 13950.
00:15:34.000 Defund the NGOs and the DEI racket.
00:15:37.000 Here's one that I want to talk about.
00:15:39.000 Sell the land.
00:15:40.000 One excellent way to make sure that those single family homes go up instead of high rise apartments is to free up the land to build them.
00:15:46.000 East of the Mississippi, almost all the land is owned by the private sector or state and local governments.
00:15:50.000 But in America's western states, gargantuan amounts of land, even right outside the cities, is owned by the federal government.
00:15:56.000 In Utah, Nevada, Idaho, it's more than 60%.
00:15:57.000 By the way, this is something I'm going to personally lobby the president for, President Trump, if, God willing, he wins.
00:16:04.000 I'm going to say, why don't you just go give the land back to Arizona?
00:16:08.000 Giving the land back or selling the land to the private sector is one of the easiest things that Trump can do, and he can do it by executive order.
00:16:16.000 On page 163, we can do this.
00:16:19.000 We should still, of course, protect our open spaces like national parks and national monuments, but I'm not talking about that.
00:16:24.000 I'm talking about major amounts of non-protected land.
00:16:29.000 Nevada, 97% of the state of Nevada, according to some estimates, Show that it's almost all federally controlled.
00:16:36.000 Sell the land, bring it back to the states, back to the people.
00:16:38.000 80%, I'm sorry, 80% of Nevada is BLM.
00:16:41.000 So understand, not Black Lives Matter, Bureau of Land Management.

00:17:04.000 Did you know that 8 billion people will eat today because fossil fuels ran the sophisticated machinery that produced all the food necessary to do so?
00:17:11.000 Or how they power the complex heating and cooling systems to keep people alive through extreme temperatures?
00:17:17.000 What would we do without AC or basic heat?
00:17:19.000 And how about the way fossil fuels power our grid infrastructure, storm warning systems, and evacuation mechanisms?
00:17:26.000 Fossil fuels have been the hero in the prevention of billions of deaths and on the extension of life.

00:19:43.000 Okay.
00:19:43.000 We got Rich Barris here from Big Data Polls, People Pundit Daily.
00:19:48.000 Rich, welcome to the program.
00:19:50.000 Rich, I want to get right into it here.
00:19:52.000 We'll get into the straw poll over the weekend in a second here.
00:19:55.000 Make sense of the Iowa-Minnesota dynamic.
00:19:58.000 What's going on here?
00:19:59.000 Woo!
00:20:00.000 And I would throw Wisconsin into that too, Charlie.
00:20:03.000 Look, let me give people a little bit of a flashback.
00:20:05.000 And as always, thanks for having me on.
00:20:08.000 In 2016, when Trump beat Clinton, the last Des Moines Register poll in Iowa was Trump plus 7.
00:20:15.000 And those who got that election wrong would later look back and say, you know what, Ann Seltzer is the gold standard in the Midwest, or that in Iowa specifically.
00:20:26.000 Maybe we should have taken that as a sign that Trump's strength in the Midwest is stronger than the other polls suggested, right?
00:20:34.000 So when 2020 rolled around, Trump would, of course, go on to win the state by roughly 8 and 10 points, or 10 and 8, respectively, in 2016 and 2020.
00:20:41.000 So he was actually understated in that poll.
00:20:43.000 win the state by roughly 8 and 10 points or 10 and 8 respectively in 16 and 20.
00:20:50.000 So he was actually understated in that poll.
00:20:53.000 And the reason why people thought that is because of the overlapping demographics in
00:20:57.000 states like Minnesota and in states like Wisconsin.
00:21:01.000 I can get very specific about that.
00:21:03.000 We're not just talking about white vs. Hispanic vs. Black.
00:21:06.000 We're talking about very specific German ethnic ancestry and then of course Norwegian vs. other Swedes.
00:21:15.000 Finns, or other Scandinavians like Swedes and Finns, which tend to be more liberal.
00:21:21.000 So when Trump is doing this well with Norwegians, who are Catholic, and both Catholic and Protestant, but even Catholic, and then of course with doing better than expected with other ethnicities of Scandinavian descent, it means he's going to romp in the parts of Wisconsin where they share those ethnicities.
00:21:39.000 And by the way, notoriously difficult to poll a state like Wisconsin.
00:21:44.000 Uh, Minnesota crept up on Hillary Clinton.
00:21:46.000 She didn't realize that he was doing that, that much better with those.
00:21:50.000 And what does it mean?
00:21:51.000 It means in Minnesota, in the twin city suburbs, he's really not at 40%.
00:21:58.000 He's more like probably at 46, 48.
00:22:01.000 And that's a problem because Democrats need to run up the numbers outside the twin city burbs.
00:22:06.000 Uh, because if they don't, They're already losing the Iron Range.
00:22:09.000 They lost the Southeast to Trump.
00:22:11.000 They lost, of course, the Southwest is already conservative.
00:22:14.000 It does mean, you know, let me just put this simply, Charlie, you're not going to win Iowa by 18 points and lose Minnesota by 10 or even 5.
00:22:23.000 It's dead even.
00:22:24.000 You're not going to win Iowa by 18 points and lose Wisconsin.
00:22:28.000 Not trying to make people complacent.
00:22:30.000 I just want to say that right now.
00:22:31.000 No, I think I don't want to give you complacency.
00:22:33.000 This is very important.
00:22:34.000 These things happen in trends.
00:22:36.000 So, for example, someone in Waterloo, Iowa, or somebody in Marshallton, Iowa, where my family is originally from, they see the world very similarly to somebody in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
00:22:48.000 So their values are the same?
00:22:49.000 So even though they don't know each other, so if they're processing information a certain way, it's almost a Midwest straw poll.
00:22:49.000 Very.
00:22:56.000 And what's her name again?
00:22:57.000 I'm sorry, I want to give her credit.
00:22:58.000 This pollster in Iowa?
00:22:59.000 Ann Seltzer.
00:23:02.000 Is it Seltzer or Salsa?
00:23:03.000 I'm kidding, that's a Seinfeld joke.
00:23:04.000 Seltzer.
00:23:05.000 Seltzer.
00:23:05.000 Without a T. Yeah.
00:23:07.000 S-O-O, right.
00:23:08.000 Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:23:09.000 Seinfeld.
00:23:10.000 Oh man, I got it.
00:23:12.000 Yeah, sorry.
00:23:12.000 It did.
00:23:15.000 So Anne, she's the gold standard.
00:23:17.000 She's as good as it gets.
00:23:19.000 And so I don't want people to get complacent, but now I want to get to the next element of this.
00:23:23.000 There's so much to discuss.
00:23:24.000 I saw more freak out amongst Democrats that are smart yesterday than any time in recent history, because they say, whoa, 18 in Iowa is a spell doom for the Midwest.
00:23:34.000 Are they one?
00:23:36.000 Can they pull Biden?
00:23:39.000 You know, I know the conversation, and I gotta tell you, I'm a skeptic on this.
00:23:43.000 And I'm a skeptic for two reasons.
00:23:45.000 One is, well, I guess there's the minutiae, it's more than two reasons.
00:23:49.000 But one is, you have people around Joe Biden who are at great risk, and they, I would say even, they have exposure.
00:23:58.000 And if they let Biden get pulled, if Trump wins and comes back to the White House, they can be in deep trouble.
00:24:05.000 So this is like about survival for them.
00:24:08.000 And then secondly, there's the mechanics of it.
00:24:10.000 You already had millions and millions and millions and millions of people vote for Joe Biden in the primary, while he was not a strong incumbent in the primary.
00:24:19.000 Those people are still going to be very upset that they were given other choices.
00:24:24.000 The Dean Phillipses, the Marion Williams, not you, great choices.
00:24:27.000 But they were given choices, and they chose to stick with Biden, and they're really going to anger those people.
00:24:34.000 And thirdly, the mechanics of the convention itself, superdelegates are powerful, but when you have the White House, you have an enormous amount of control over those superdelegates and their future.
00:24:47.000 So they would have to think that Their gamble against the president is worth it, and I don't know that anyone could convince those people of that.
00:25:00.000 And then, again, the bottom line is here.
00:25:04.000 Joe Biden, we've polled everybody.
00:25:06.000 Gavin Newsom, Michelle Obama, as crazy as it sounds, Charlie, Joe Biden is actually the strongest candidate against Donald Trump.
00:25:14.000 Their bench is, well, the bench that people know right now, because there are potentially strong candidates sitting on the Democratic bench right now.
00:25:23.000 It's just that America doesn't know them.
00:25:25.000 And we're already, it's June 18th.
00:25:27.000 You know, it's June 18th.
00:25:29.000 Could they pull somebody off that bench and re-engineer all of this?
00:25:32.000 By the way, leapfrogging over the first non-white vice presidential potential replacement.
00:25:39.000 Oh, that's fair play.
00:25:40.000 Cornell West will get to double digits if they do that.
00:25:43.000 the I hate that.
00:26:03.000 It sounds so like People's Magazine tabloidy, but she seems like she doesn't want it because if Michelle were to run, Michelle wants to win.
00:26:10.000 She doesn't want a nasty campaign.
00:26:12.000 I don't think Michelle wants to run.
00:26:13.000 I think she wants a coronation.
00:26:15.000 She sees something in the future.
00:26:16.000 If she wants to run, she wants something easy.
00:26:18.000 This would not be easy.
00:26:20.000 So talk about how Joe Biden might be the strongest of their remaining, but also talk about whomever gets this.
00:26:25.000 This is an impossible assignment if they do it.
00:26:28.000 You have to reintroduce yourself to the country.
00:26:30.000 You'll kind of be a mockery.
00:26:32.000 You'll navigate all that.
00:26:34.000 And has this ever happened in political history?
00:26:36.000 There's a lot there, Rich.
00:26:37.000 Go ahead.
00:26:38.000 Yeah, and I would say, too, with Michelle Obama, I'm not trying to attack her.
00:26:41.000 I'm just stating a fact.
00:26:43.000 It's a known fact, an open secret.
00:26:45.000 She's notoriously lazy.
00:26:47.000 She doesn't like to work hard for something.
00:26:49.000 I'm serious.
00:26:49.000 I'm not trying to attack her.
00:26:50.000 She's a lazy person.
00:26:51.000 She didn't even write her thesis in Princeton.
00:26:53.000 It's incoherent babble.
00:26:56.000 Yeah, keep going.
00:26:57.000 Yeah, she would want, like you said, a coronation under circumstances that are more like what Hillary Clinton got in 2016, which is just, it's her turn, get out of the way, Bernie Sanders, you're just a spoiler.
00:27:10.000 That's what she would want with a traditional opponent on the Republican side, not Donald Trump.
00:27:16.000 And I would argue actually that, look, Hillary Clinton in the Gallup poll when she was Secretary of State had re-engineered her image and was actually very popular, hitting in the 60s.
00:27:26.000 And then when the country got to nowhere again, they remembered why they didn't like Hillary Clinton to begin with.
00:27:30.000 I have a feeling that, you know, she's not, Michelle Obama is likable as the first lady.
00:27:35.000 She is not likable, you know, being the front person.
00:27:39.000 And it's going to come out and people won't like her.
00:27:42.000 So she really risks a lot.
00:27:44.000 But yeah, the bottom line is it's an implied you're asking somebody to take on something that could kill their political career.
00:27:51.000 It is an impossible mission.
00:27:52.000 You're going to tell people, millions of people, you have to deal with me, you know, like, kind of just suck it up, you wasted your vote,
00:28:00.000 and there will be a lot of resentment there.
00:28:03.000 And then secondly, that's just the voting aspect.
00:28:05.000 The other resentment that's gonna come with this is that maybe we don't think so, but it's true.
00:28:11.000 Kamala Harris has a loyal following.
00:28:13.000 It's not a majority right now, of course, but she has a loyal following
00:28:17.000 within the vice president's office, within the California Democratic Party
00:28:21.000 and that wing of the party, and they will be pissed.
00:28:24.000 If they go to Kamala, they will do a little bit better with black voters,
00:28:28.000 but they will do a lot worse with boomers.
00:28:31.000 The next segment, Rich, and I got a lot of hate mail for it,
00:28:34.000 and we have wonderful boomers in this audience, so I'm not blaming a whole generation, but.
00:28:39.000 Because I have to preface with that, because for obvious reasons, Joe Biden appeals them.
00:28:45.000 I have to talk about this Wall Street Journal piece, because it's a very serious thing, Rich, which shows that Biden's path might be running up the score in nursing homes and senior care facilities.
00:28:55.000 And so Biden is winning the senior vote.
00:28:59.000 And so you're a pollster.
00:29:01.000 I want you to tell me what you are seeing, because a lot of people are saying it's not true.
00:29:01.000 You're trusted.
00:29:06.000 It's not.
00:29:07.000 I see it in the data.
00:29:11.000 So, Rich, Wall Street Journal article, I covered this in the first hour, Biden's secret weapon against Trump, older voters.
00:29:16.000 Is that directionally correct, Rich Barris, in the polling that you've seen?
00:29:20.000 When it comes to Joe Biden, it is the case that he does better with older senior voters than other Democrats and Democrats that have come before him.
00:29:31.000 And there's a couple of reasons why.
00:29:32.000 You know, demographics change, Charlie, and the older conservatives from You know, the 2010 and 2014 midterm elections that propelled Republicans, even 16 when Trump won them heavily.
00:29:46.000 We also had COVID, you know, a lot of people passed and time moves on.
00:29:49.000 People pass and other generations, which was a liberal generation, the 45 to 64, now become the 65 and above.
00:29:56.000 But I will say this with a caveat because it is true and I see it in our polling as well.
00:30:02.000 And that's also why Democrats have been doing better in specials and off-cycle elections than expected, because older voters vote at a higher propensity.
00:30:10.000 But I will mention this.
00:30:12.000 In 2020, the New York Times, many other polls, even our polling, we didn't have Trump losing the senior vote.
00:30:20.000 We did have him slipping, though.
00:30:22.000 And the New York Times just had Biden winning it outright by, I believe, six or eight points.
00:30:27.000 In the end, Trump did win it.
00:30:29.000 So sometimes it is a little bit hard to poll some of these groups, and some of these pollsters have to really be careful when they're talking about 75 and above versus the 65 to 74.
00:30:40.000 And sample size with that matters, and then you'll get a much more accurate read, but there is no doubt.
00:30:45.000 that Trump is doing better with younger voters than typical and Biden is doing better with
00:30:49.000 older voters than typical. I think it's it's conclusive at this point, but it is debatable
00:30:54.000 on whether or not Biden will actually win them or whether or not they'll be just close.
00:30:59.000 I think that's a that's a fair argument to have, but the direction is conclusive.
00:31:04.000 What is what is the reason, though? Why would any baby? And again, our audience is full of
00:31:08.000 amazing baby boomers. I don't want to generalize the whole generation. But why is, for example,
00:31:12.000 this is the Wall Street Journal poll, the Iowa poll by the way.
00:31:16.000 Which the one we talked about the Iowa poll was broken down by demographic and in the Iowa poll even though Trump is winning by 18 He was doing five points worse with baby boomers.
00:31:25.000 What's going on?
00:31:26.000 Yep And by the way, I think Seltzer probably nailed that.
00:31:29.000 That's what we saw.
00:31:30.000 Our Iowa poll, which was before hers, was Trump plus 15, which people scoffed at, by the way, Charlene Till and Seltzer does it, right?
00:31:39.000 It definitely showed a slippage with Trump among seniors and doing better among younger voters.
00:31:43.000 I think when we listen to the interviews and Sometimes you can't see this with the numbers.
00:31:47.000 You have to just listen as a pollster to what people are telling you.
00:31:50.000 It makes people that age a little bit uncomfortable to embrace big change.
00:31:57.000 They're in the golden years of their life, and they kind of just want to squeak by it.
00:32:01.000 And I know it may sound, because every time I say this, I get the response, Rich, that's selfish.
00:32:08.000 It may be when you're not thinking about your kids and your grandkids and their future, but also it may not be.
00:32:14.000 You've been through your life until you're their age.
00:32:16.000 Maybe you can't really say that for sure.
00:32:18.000 You don't want to believe the government that you've been living in.
00:32:23.000 You've got to remember the United States they grew up in.
00:32:25.000 You don't want to believe that the FBI is just totally corrupt and needs to be dismantled.
00:32:31.000 You don't want to believe that.
00:32:32.000 You don't want to believe that these institutions that, honestly, you kind of supported and, you know, went through in your lifetime, this happened.
00:32:41.000 You don't want to believe how bad it has gotten with them.
00:32:43.000 Well, you have a certain amount put away.
00:32:45.000 This is so profound.
00:32:47.000 Traditionally, Republicans, traditionally, Mitt Romney, John McCain are the keep things the same candidate.
00:32:54.000 And Democrats traditionally were the transformational change candidate.
00:32:54.000 Yes.
00:32:58.000 That is no longer the case.
00:33:00.000 Joe Biden is now the keep things the same candidate.
00:33:03.000 Keep the borders open, keep the country impoverished, keep things the same.
00:33:08.000 And Donald Trump is the transformational candidate.
00:33:10.000 Joe Biden is status quo.
00:33:12.000 Donald Trump is change it.
00:33:14.000 That is a sea change and baby boomers almost always go for the status quo over transformational change.
00:33:21.000 Yeah.
00:33:23.000 Yeah, they have a certain amount put away for their golden years.
00:33:25.000 And inflation bothers them, so that's always an opening for them.
00:33:29.000 Because, you know, when you change the equation that they planned for their entire lives, and what they have left suddenly is not enough, that's certainly an opportunity Republicans have with them.
00:33:40.000 But as far as big, transformational change, they really don't want that to disrupt the final years of their life, Charlie.
00:33:49.000 They don't.
00:33:50.000 And then, again, There's a flip side to this, which is that, you know, what was it now?
00:33:57.000 I mean, yeah, four years ago or so, you know, take my kid's school vote for president.
00:34:03.000 They have these mock votes.
00:34:05.000 Four years ago, it was very close.
00:34:06.000 That was a prediction that Trump was going to win.
00:34:09.000 I remember one of those.
00:34:12.000 I'm telling you, and now it's so overwhelming, and, you know, I have a son who's a teenage son.
00:34:17.000 You know, 10, 15 years ago, you know, you would never hear them talk about, like, it's cool to be a Trump Republican, right?
00:34:26.000 And they mock Joe Biden for being senile, and they think it's a joke.
00:34:29.000 Like, how could anybody vote for this guy?
00:34:31.000 It's an embarrassment, and our future is really in peril here.
00:34:35.000 Okay, Rich, tell us about the straw poll this weekend in Detroit and the results.
00:34:40.000 Well, first and foremost, this really wasn't close.
00:34:45.000 We, in our prior straw poll, Charlie, included everybody who at that time was in contention.
00:34:52.000 But there has been, you know, wide reports about the narrowing down of that list and, you know, what was Productive here was to ask activists and attendees, who of those finalists would they prefer?
00:35:06.000 J.D.
00:35:06.000 Vance won it going away.
00:35:08.000 It wasn't really particularly close.
00:35:10.000 There still was a large, about one in four, almost, who were undecided.
00:35:14.000 But, you know, J.D.
00:35:15.000 Vance took almost half of the vote out of 47%, 48%, right?
00:35:20.000 Out of that entire first round without leaning anybody.
00:35:24.000 So I think it was very clear, which tells you the direction that the party's moving in.
00:35:29.000 You know, it's like the leadership of the party had been coastal, right?
00:35:33.000 With the exception of Mitch McConnell, the leadership of the party has really been coastal, California, Republican, that kind of brand of Republicanism.
00:35:44.000 The future of the party and the change, the realignment of the coalition itself has been a Southern Midwest and part of the mountain region of the West and Sunbelt party.
00:35:55.000 That's what it's been.
00:35:56.000 And now I think that those views of the people in attendance at your event really represent the direction that this party is going, which is more Midwest, more populist in nature.
00:36:07.000 And JD Vance exemplifies that.
00:36:09.000 So I wasn't surprised he won.
00:36:12.000 I am a little bit surprised he won by that much, be honest.
00:36:15.000 But it wasn't close at all.
00:36:16.000 In closing here, Rich, just really quick, what advantages or benefits to the Trump campaign
00:36:22.000 or candidacy does JD Vance bring to the table?
00:36:25.000 He's young.
00:36:26.000 He looks a lot like the new voter who Republicans are getting to register.
00:36:31.000 They're not necessarily young.
00:36:33.000 This isn't my, you know, this is their first election, for instance, 18, 19 years old.
00:36:39.000 There are people that are, you know, 40 that are popping into the electorate saying, This is the first time I'm going to vote, and they look a lot like J.D.
00:36:46.000 They sound a lot like J.D.
00:36:46.000 Vance.
00:36:48.000 Attitudinally, J.D.
00:36:48.000 Vance.
00:36:50.000 Vance's textbook, Rust Belt.
00:36:52.000 And, I mean, he doesn't scare away suburban women.
00:36:55.000 I'll tell you, my young daughter had saw J.D.
00:36:58.000 Vance's movie on Netflix, went out and got the book.
00:37:01.000 Who does that at 12 years old?
00:37:03.000 I mean, she absolutely loved the story.
00:37:05.000 The downside, however, is how the situation works in Ohio.
00:37:09.000 If you pluck J.D.
00:37:10.000 Vance out of the Senate, Charlie, Then he may not be replaced with another J.D.
00:37:14.000 Vance.
00:37:15.000 And I think that's worth bringing up.
00:37:17.000 It's certainly worth debating.
00:37:19.000 But he's a young guy and he is MAGA.
00:37:21.000 I mean, he represents MAGA.
00:37:22.000 He's almost textbook, the strongest MAGA voter out there.
00:37:26.000 And what do I mean by that?
00:37:28.000 The strongest, most loyal MAGA voter out there was maybe not necessarily pro-Trump when Trump came on the scene.
00:37:34.000 Maybe he didn't like some of the way Trump handled things or acted or she.
00:37:39.000 But then was converted over the years.
00:37:42.000 The converted MAGA voter is a strong MAGA voter.
00:37:46.000 I totally agree.
00:37:47.000 JD exemplifies that.
00:37:48.000 I know.
00:37:49.000 He exemplifies it.
00:37:50.000 And he's the only veteran in the race.
00:37:51.000 Perfect example.
00:37:51.000 The only veteran in the race.
00:37:53.000 That's true.
00:37:54.000 Rich, excellent work.
00:37:55.000 Thank you so much.
