00:01:35.000 So the premise of the book, from my understanding, I haven't read it yet, is why the press gets so much wrong and just doesn't care.
00:01:41.000 And the second part of the second part of the title actually interests me the most is the not caring.
00:01:47.000 So you've been in the media for a while.
00:01:49.000 You've dealt with all of these propagandists for years.
00:01:53.000 Was there a time when the media did care about getting it right?
00:01:56.000 And if yes, when did that change?
00:01:59.000 There was a time that they actually said their job was to be objective.
00:02:03.000 And boy, have they given that up now.
00:02:05.000 They don't even try to be objective anymore.
00:02:07.000 They don't try to be neutral anymore.
00:02:09.000 What happened in the Trump years is the press decided that they needed to reverse the decision the American people made by electing Trump and do everything in their power to throw Trump out of office.
00:02:21.000 And that included deceiving the American people with the reports they put on the air, false, wrong reports, suppressing news that would have hurt Joe Biden or helped Donald Trump.
00:02:31.000 And that's why I wrote the book, Charlie.
00:02:34.000 I try to be fair.
00:02:35.000 I try to call the balls and strikes as I see them.
00:02:38.000 And as I watched the press do to President Trump what they did, I just knew that I needed to write the book that was the reckoning that the press would not write for themselves.
00:02:49.000 And it's so important.
00:02:50.000 The name of the book is Suppression, Deception, Snobbery, and Bias.
00:02:54.000 And so I'm going to go a little step further here, Ari, and you can feel free to disagree, push back, or agree.
00:02:59.000 I just, I think so many members of the media are activists at the core, is that they have no desire to orient themselves towards a true north or towards what would be true.
00:03:11.000 They care more about having their team win.
00:03:14.000 It feels like as if the people marching in the streets that we saw with BLM or Roe v. Wade, they just got press badges and now they're given all of this power.
00:03:23.000 Is that a bridge too far?
00:03:24.000 Or do you feel that the media has transformed into basically an activist network?
00:03:30.000 That's a good part of the book.
00:03:31.000 They have transformed.
00:03:32.000 The press largely, and I'm talking, when I say the mainstream media, I mean CBS, ABC, NBC, the New York Times, the Washington Post.
00:03:39.000 Too many reporters in these institutions we used to trust have decided their job is to be subjective, not objective.
00:03:48.000 And let me give you one of my favorite examples.
00:03:50.000 The night that Joe Biden was declared the winner of the election, it was the Saturday after the Tuesday election.
00:03:56.000 Church bells rang in Paris.
00:03:58.000 Fireworks went off in London.
00:04:00.000 And ABC, CNN, and MSNBC reported to their viewers that it was part of an international celebration of Donald Trump's defeat and Joe Biden's election.
00:04:11.000 You know what, Charlie?
00:04:12.000 It was the weekly call to mass in Paris.
00:04:15.000 That's why the church bells rang.
00:04:17.000 It was a 500-year-old British holiday called Bonfire Night, Guy Fawkes Day, that celebrated, commemorated the failed assassination attempt on King James I in 1605.
00:04:29.000 It had nothing to do with America.
00:04:33.000 Yet these reporters, these snobs who think, how can anybody be for Donald Trump?
00:04:38.000 They just interpret it as an election repudiation, world celebration of Donald Trump's defeat.
00:04:47.000 And they put it on the air because they think everybody thinks like they do.
00:04:51.000 And that's why I, again, this is why I wanted to write a book like this, because we cannot be a strong democracy if people can't trust the press.
00:04:59.000 And the reason we can't trust the press is because the press doesn't trust us.
00:05:02.000 They especially don't trust people who carry guns or whose parents or grandparents talking to Hunt.
00:05:08.000 They don't trust people who think life begins at conception.
00:05:11.000 They don't trust people who grew up in rural areas.
00:05:14.000 This is the problem with the media.
00:05:16.000 And this is why they're in decline and denial.
00:05:20.000 So that's another interesting thing I want to explore with you, Ari, which is they're in decline.
00:05:25.000 New York Times stock is down 40% year over year.
00:05:28.000 CNN Plus lasted, I think, three scaramuccias.
00:05:32.000 The entire media industrial complex, the narrative industrial complex, is just folding upon itself.
00:05:39.000 How sustainable do you think that is?
00:05:41.000 Because the current funding model feels as if it's the new pet project or the new kind of luxury item for a billionaire.
00:05:49.000 It's no longer about yachts, golf streams, and mansions in Nice, France.
00:05:54.000 It's about owning the Atlantic or the Washington Post.
00:05:58.000 Can you talk about how important market principles actually are in possibly restoring media companies?
00:06:04.000 Because absent billionaire bailouts, I don't know how sustainable their propaganda campaign actually is.
00:06:11.000 Well, the one area of media that's booming is conservative media.
00:06:14.000 Conservative media is doing exceedingly well because it's really a narrow little niche.
00:06:19.000 When you add up how many people work in the mainstream media compared to the conservative media, the problem is in the mainstream media.
00:06:27.000 And their business model increasingly says our readers and our viewers are partisan.
00:06:31.000 They're partisan Democrats.
00:06:33.000 We don't really have advertising dollars anymore, especially in print.
00:06:37.000 So we need to appeal to our subscribers.
00:06:39.000 And our subscribers overwhelmingly come from the left.
00:06:42.000 So we need to tell the left what it wants to hear.
00:06:44.000 That is a totally unsustainable business model.
00:06:47.000 It's what's led to the polarization of the country.
00:06:50.000 And one of the cases I make in this book is the reason we're polarized people is because the press polarizes us.
00:06:56.000 It polarizes ourselves.
00:06:58.000 By abandoning objectivity, by abandoning neutrality, they force themselves into a left-wing cul-de-sac.
00:07:05.000 And it's a cul-de-sac that won't pay.
00:07:07.000 So they do have a serious problem with their business model.
00:07:12.000 So the book is Suppression, Deception, Snobbery, and Bias. 0.99
00:07:16.000 And so you have a couple of examples: Russian collusion, lab leak theory, Hunter Biden laptop, mostly peaceful protests.
00:07:26.000 And it seems as if they just do smokescreen after smokescreen story to try and cover up whatever story they might be, you know, trying to protect for the regime.
00:07:39.000 So let's talk about solutions here then, Ari.
00:07:41.000 What do you think is actually the long-term solution to fix this?
00:07:46.000 Because, you know, when I travel the country, I just talk to normal people.
00:07:48.000 They say, I don't know who to trust.
00:07:50.000 One of the reasons why our show, I think, has grown is we get plenty of things, you know, wrong, but they know I'm not lying to them, right?
00:07:58.000 We get plenty of things where I get too emotional or I get too heated, but they say, you know what, Charlie means what he says, or that program is going to tell to me straight, where it seems as if there's almost this synthetic glaze that has gone over the media where it's so artificial and it's so just manufactured.
00:08:13.000 How do we go about solving this?
00:08:16.000 Chapter one is called Original Sin.
00:08:18.000 And the original sin of journalism is the people who go into it.
00:08:21.000 They're all cut too much cut from the same liberal tweet the same, think the same, look the same, act the same, cloth.
00:08:28.000 They have a diversity problem in the media.
00:08:30.000 The media doesn't look like America, sound like America, talk to America, or register to vote like America.
00:08:36.000 And so journalism schools need to start to really work to bring in people who own guns, people who go to church every week, people who are conservative, people who grew up in rural areas, because you can't have a newsroom be so lopsided ideologically toward one side.
00:08:53.000 When you do that, you put wrong information on the air because there aren't enough independent thinkers to stop it and fact check it.
00:09:00.000 So that's why CNN led the league and the number of retractions they had.
00:09:03.000 So my long-term solution is journalism schools need to recruit.
00:09:08.000 Newsrooms need to welcome conservatives instead of shun conservatives in the newsroom.
00:09:12.000 And I urge young people who are interested in journalism to go into the newsrooms, even for mainstream media, because it is important to our democracy that we can trust the news.
00:09:22.000 But Charlie, I want to give you one example.
00:09:24.000 When I talk about how journalists are overwhelmingly college-educated Democratic voters, the White House briefing room, I hired an opposition research firm to pull up the voter registrations of people who work in the White House briefing room.
00:09:35.000 The ratio is 12 to 1, Democrat to Republican.
00:09:40.000 Why isn't it 6 to 6?
00:09:42.000 Why isn't it even?
00:09:43.000 Can you imagine what it'd be like if it was 12 to 1, Republican to Democrat?
00:09:47.000 But the pinnacle of journalism, 12 to 1 ratio, Democrat to Republican.
00:09:52.000 It shouldn't be that way.
00:09:54.000 Having more people in the media that own guns and go to church, that's a diversity, equity, inclusion project I could get behind for sure.
00:10:02.000 That's diversity, equity, inclusion done right.
00:10:04.000 More gun owners and more church attendees in the media.
00:10:07.000 Ari, I'm going to play a piece of tape here.
00:10:09.000 I want you to tell me how you think the media would react if Melania Trump did the following, Plight Cut 25.
00:10:18.000 Raul helped build this organization with the understanding that the diversity of this community, as distinct as the Bogadas of the Bronx, as beautiful as the blossoms of Miami, and as unique as the breakfast tacos here in San Antonio.

00:10:46.000 Pander much, Ari, how would the media react to such a thing?
00:10:49.000 Racist, xenophobic, stereotypical bigotry.
00:10:54.000 Has she never been out? 0.99
00:10:56.000 I mean, this, again, the hypocrisy of the media in so many different things.
00:11:02.000 You know, Charlie, one of the other things in my book that I discovered, it fits along the same line of how when Republicans do it, they get hammered.
00:11:08.000 Democrats do it, they get a pass.
00:11:10.000 Here's CNN's judgment for you.
00:11:12.000 CNN booked Michael Avenatti twice as much over the same period of time as they did the entire Trump administration to talk about COVID.
00:11:23.000 The Secretary of Health and Human Services, the Surgeon General, Dr. Ann Fauci, Dr. Briggs, everyone in the Trump administration combined, they booked Michael Avenatti almost twice as much to talk about Stormy Daniels.
00:11:38.000 If that doesn't tell you how mainstream media and especially CNN's values were warped, how the coverage decisions were flawed, you know, if it was anti-Trump, it got a bump.
00:11:49.000 And that's what we saw after four years of Trump coverage.
00:11:52.000 Well, and then what's so frustrating, too, though, Ari, is that how they're, how the lies of the regime just go unchecked.
00:11:59.000 I'm going to play this piece of tape here.
00:12:01.000 The commerce secretary of Joe Biden's administration, Gina Ramindo, says the economy is very strong.
00:12:08.000 I mean, no one even dares says, like, hey, actually, we're in probably a recession, maybe about to go to an economic catastrophe.
00:12:15.000 The media doesn't even dare cross-examine what people are feeling in their real lives.
00:12:19.000 Play cut two.
00:12:21.000 Three-quarters of the country feel like the country's headed in the wrong direction.
00:12:25.000 How much of it is economic, in your view?
00:12:27.000 I think quite a bit of it is economic.
00:12:29.000 And specifically, I think it's inflation.
00:12:32.000 So, you know, look, obviously, it's frustrating.
00:12:36.000 You know, if you were to ask me, what do I think of the economy?
00:12:39.000 I'd say we have a very strong economy.
00:12:42.000 Very strong economy as the lapdogs and the media continue to nod their head.
00:12:48.000 So it bothers me at a fundamental level because it actually makes our country less free and harder for us to solve problems, doesn't it?
00:12:56.000 Well, it's along the same lines as Joe Biden said that the Border Patrol whipped migrants coming across the border when they didn't whip anybody.
00:13:04.000 Where's the hammering of Joe Biden for getting that one wrong?
00:13:07.000 Time and again, the Democrats get to say things that are flat out, wrong, false, and they just get away with it.
00:13:12.000 Look at the law in Florida that Governor DeSantis passed that dealt with teaching age-appropriate lessons about transgender issues and homosexuality and other issues to children.
00:13:25.000 Age-appropriate.
00:13:26.000 What did the press call it? 0.72
00:13:28.000 Don't say gay.
00:13:30.000 That's what all they want to call it.
00:13:32.000 Well, that's not what it is.
00:13:34.000 The media deceive, they distort.
00:13:37.000 Another example in my book, they use Democrat words.
00:13:40.000 When Joe Biden ran and promised all the gigantic spending programs, Biden called it investments.
00:13:49.000 You know what word the New York Times, the Washington Post used?
00:13:51.000 Investments.
00:13:52.000 Now, when I invest, that means I take my money, I give it to somebody, and they give me back more money.
00:13:58.000 That's an investment.
00:13:59.000 When the government spends your money and my money and my neighbor's money, our tax money, that's called government spending.
00:14:06.000 But the press just went right around, right along with the cleaned up Democratic word.
00:14:10.000 They don't do that for Republicans.
00:14:12.000 We Republicans, we like to call the estate tax the death tax.
00:14:15.000 They never call it the death tax.
00:14:17.000 They use Democrat language.
00:14:19.000 They fall for the Democrat statements and they don't hold the Democrats to account.
00:14:23.000 We see it time and time and time again.
00:14:25.000 And my book is full of examples of them doing it because someone needs to blow the whistle on them.
00:14:32.000 I think you blew my mind with this.
00:14:34.000 I'm all for diversity, equity, inclusion now, as long as you're an NRA member and you live on a farm and you have nine kids and you go to church.
00:14:43.000 I think if we made them be hired in our government, and you have to be a member of a Turning Point USA chapter.

00:16:42.000 What is going on here?
00:16:43.000 Is this a leak?
00:16:44.000 Is it an iCloud backup?
00:16:45.000 Where did it come from?
00:16:46.000 Why are we just learning about it right now?
00:16:48.000 I could pepper off another eight questions, but let's just start there.
00:16:51.000 Look, I don't know the exact origin of this current leak.
00:16:57.000 You know, 4chan has it.
00:16:59.000 Who knows?
00:17:00.000 There's all sorts of rumors about where they got it from.
00:17:03.000 But suffice to say, what it appears to be is the iPhone backup that was encrypted on Hunter's laptop.
00:17:11.000 It was encrypted with a password that about a month ago, this independent research outfit nonprofit called Marco Polo had managed to find the password among all the passwords that Hunter stored on his laptop and open up that encrypted backup.
00:17:29.000 And so they have been leaking to us at the New York Post, to the Daily Mail and The Sun and so on, selected bits and pieces, videos, and that voicemail that you heard a couple of weeks ago from Joe Biden.
00:17:44.000 And so what it looks like to me from the little that I've seen on social media, admittedly, of the material that's come out and that's been sort of curated by various people on Twitter and Getter and so on.
00:17:59.000 It looks to be the material from the iPhone backup.
00:18:01.000 That's what the Marco Polo people tell me.
00:18:04.000 I know that, you know, on Twitter, people have been saying wild things like someone has hacked Hunter Biden's iCloud.
00:18:12.000 Now, I doubt that.
00:18:13.000 That is illegal.
00:18:15.000 Apparently, the Secret Service is looking into those allegations.
00:18:19.000 NBC reported that yesterday.
00:18:20.000 That is a serious crime if that were to have happened.
00:18:25.000 I don't think so.
00:18:26.000 None of this material is new, according to Marco Polo, who are all over the iPhone backup.
00:18:34.000 But you look, let's see, this story is wild.
00:18:37.000 And, you know, what it just highlights is the fact that it is impossible for the White House and Joe Biden to continue to stonewall, refuse to answer questions.
00:18:49.000 This material on Hunter Biden's laptop is not going away and it's damning.
00:18:54.000 It shows at the very least that Joe Biden has been lying since the campaign and throughout his presidency about what he knew about his son, Hunter, and his brother, Jim Biden's business dealings.
00:19:09.000 So I guess one of the questions that I have is: so the Secret Service is potentially scrambling to say, oh, no, this might have been a hack.
00:19:17.000 Where's the federal government scrambling to potentially go after him for trafficking women across state lines and bragging in the videos that there is all this cocaine?
00:19:28.000 I mean, Miranda, we have verifiable video, audio evidence of a multitude of crimes being committed by him, not to mention the tax dealings and all of this.
00:19:41.000 I mean, it just drives me nuts.
00:19:43.000 And I think our audience, too, is that the government's response is: we're going to go find the person who possibly leaked it.
00:19:48.000 You have the crimes, illegal gun purchase, you have prostitution, you have one after the other.
00:19:53.000 And meanwhile, they have a trial of Steve Bannon because he decided not to show up to testify to Congress.
00:20:00.000 They have Peter Navarro in leg irons because he didn't want to go testify to Congress.
00:20:04.000 They raid James O'Keefe's apartment.
00:20:06.000 And here you have Hunter Biden, who quite honestly makes El Chapo look like Mother Teresa.
00:20:14.000 I mean, this is nuts.
00:20:17.000 Well, look, we have to realize that the FBI has had a copy of actually the original of Hunter Biden's laptop that they were given by John Paul Mack Isaac, the Delaware repair shop owner.
00:20:29.000 They've had that since December 2019.
00:20:32.000 Now, I believe that all evidence of crimes and so on contained on it, if they've looked at it, will have been referred to that U.S. attorney, that grand jury, sorry, in Delaware, that's been investigating Hunter Biden for four years for suspected or alleged tax evasion and money laundering and foreign agent violations.
00:20:56.000 And so, anytime, you know, if another district like the Southern District of New York is given any evidence of crimes that allegedly committed by Hunter Biden, they defer and refer to the U.S. Attorney.
00:21:12.000 I believe that's what's been happening.
00:21:13.000 I don't think they have to, but so I guess it all rests on David Weiss, the U.S. Attorney in Delaware.
00:21:22.000 And, you know, that grand jury went dormant after some quite busy activity last summer when they were interviewing Hunter's former business partners, people like Devin Archer and his former lovers.
00:21:36.000 We know that they had asked at least one person who is the big guy.
00:21:40.000 Now, the big guy we know from Tony Bobolinski, another former business partner, is Joe Biden, the big guy who is getting 10% of one of these lucrative Chinese deals.
00:21:51.000 So if the grand jury is asking people those questions, then maybe the U.S. attorney is pulling on those threads that lead to Joe Biden.
00:22:04.000 That would be pretty brave.
00:22:06.000 But at the very least, we believe that there will be an indictment coming out.
00:22:11.000 But why the delay?
00:22:13.000 We don't know because we're heading up to midterms and there is a period of two to three months before then when these sorts of inquiries just go dormant or are stalled so that they're not influenced or and don't influence political processes.
00:22:33.000 So we're getting perilously close to that with no outcome.
00:22:37.000 There's some talk that perhaps a couple of witnesses were called back because their testimony conflicted.
00:22:45.000 So that may explain part of the delay.
00:22:48.000 Otherwise, you can only suspect, and that would be a terrible thing, that the U.S. attorney might be slow walking this past the midterms.
00:22:57.000 Let's hope that's not the case.
00:23:00.000 Yeah, there's so many questions related to that.
00:23:02.000 But also, Miranda, there seems to be further evidence that we know Joe Biden lied when he said he didn't know that he was aware of Hunter Biden's business dealings.
00:23:10.000 This is confusing for some of our audience, but can you, to the best of your ability, what do we know based on the laptop and the subsequent quote-unquote leak or whatever it might be of Hunter Biden-Joe Biden's business dealings?
00:23:23.000 Example, allegedly, based on this, whatever it is, this new revelation, we have the leaked audio clip we paid, but also it shows there's a very important dialogue between Joe Biden's 2018 involvement and Hunter Biden's finances.
00:23:36.000 The company is OWASCO LLC, which served as an influence operation by the Bidens on behalf of the Chinese.
00:23:42.000 It looks like Joe Biden said he knew nothing about Hunter Biden business, but in late 2018, it looks as if Hunter Biden needed his dad's permission to wire money to OWASCO LLC.
00:23:53.000 What else do we know about this, Miranda?
00:23:55.000 Because it seems as if this was not two separate universes of business.
00:23:58.000 Is it possible Joe Biden was calling all the shots?
00:24:01.000 Look, I don't think that particular piece of evidence is damning at all because OWASCO was just Hunter Biden's personal firm, his law firm.
00:24:10.000 It's where a lot of his money came through that he used for spending.
00:24:15.000 And at that time of his life, this was early 2019, this is the first time we see evidence of the laptop of money going from Joe Biden to Hunter Biden.
00:24:26.000 The other evidence is that it's going the other way.
00:24:28.000 And we know, of course, that Hunter's complained about having to give half his money to his father.
00:24:33.000 So the reason that Joe Biden was giving Hunter money was because Hunter was on a terrible bender at the time.
00:24:42.000 His life was in utter disarray.
00:24:44.000 He had a huge monthly alimony bill.
00:24:48.000 He was spending like a drunken sailor in expensive hotels and crack benders and prostitutes. 0.99
00:24:55.000 And he'd also split up with his brother's widow, Hallie, who he'd had this torrent affair with.
00:25:02.000 And that was very acrimonious.
00:25:04.000 And he was furious with his family.
00:25:06.000 He thought that Joe and Jill were taking the side of Hallie against him.
00:25:11.000 He also thought, with good reason, that Joe Biden and certainly his staff were throwing him under the bus in order to sort of salvage Joe's last chance to become president.
00:25:23.000 Joe was just about to announce his candidacy.
00:25:27.000 Hunter knew that.
00:25:28.000 And so, you know, in effect, Hunter was blackmailing his father, saying to him without saying in so many words, but sort of being out of control, being angry, raging, being a loose cannon, and wanting money, desperate for money to feed his habit.
00:25:44.000 And so his father was giving him tens of thousands of dollars.
00:25:47.000 Supposedly, he was helping him pay off his bills, get out of trouble.
00:25:51.000 He had tax problems, and also to go to so-called rehab.
00:25:57.000 You know, you can see on the laptop that his father sends him, I think it's $20,000 or $30,000 to pay for a rehab, and he's not. 0.61
00:26:04.000 He's still smoking crack and seeing prostitutes.
00:26:07.000 So I'm not sure that Joe Biden particularly cared. 0.82
00:26:10.000 He just wanted to keep Hunter quiet.
00:26:14.000 And, you know, and in April 2019 was when Hunter abandoned his laptop and all that damning evidence, that bombshell in Delaware at that laptop repair shop.
00:26:26.000 And, you know, a week or two later, his father announced his candidacy for president.
00:26:32.000 So, you know, a Freudian read of Hunter Biden's behavior would say that he was trying to sabotage, at least subconsciously, his father's career.
00:26:44.000 It's just, I mean, hard to find any other explanation.

00:29:15.000 We have no evidence that Joe Biden ever brought up the origins of COVID to Xi Jinping and the five phone calls that he's had.
00:29:22.000 He's failing to call for an end of the fentanyl trafficking.
00:29:25.000 I have not heard him mention fentanyl once, and fentanyl is made in China, pushed through Mexico into America.
00:29:30.000 And it continues.
00:29:31.000 He has canceled the China initiative.
00:29:33.000 This was an initiative that was investigating the continued Chinese intellectual property theft.
00:29:40.000 He's considering lifting the tariffs on China imports.
00:29:42.000 He sent oil from America's strategic reserve to other countries, including China.
00:29:48.000 And he is pushing electric vehicles, solar panels, and batteries aggressively in his climate change agenda.

00:29:58.000 Well, look, it does seem that Joe Biden has gone soft on China in all those ways, Maria points out, and more.
00:30:06.000 I mean, the 1 million barrels that he diverted from the strategic petroleum reserve to China went to Sinopec, which is a Chinese energy giant that his son Hunter had a 10% investment in in that Chinese private equity firm, BHR.
00:30:22.000 You know, lifting tariffs on solar panels, disbanding the The China Initiative, which was a national security program put in place by the Trump administration to stop Chinese espionage at our universities and research institutions.
00:30:38.000 That's just inexplicable.
00:30:39.000 These things seem to be about putting China first, not putting America first.
00:30:45.000 And, you know, until there is some explanation from the administration about this very soft China policy, these reversals of the Trump attitude to China, then we can only have suspicions that are pretty well founded that Joe Biden is compromised by China, that our foreign policy is now affected by the millions of dollars that went into Biden family bank accounts from China,
00:31:15.000 as well as Russia, Ukraine, Romania, Kazakhstan, and other countries when Joe Biden was vice president.
00:31:22.000 We don't know if Joe Biden's compromised, but while he refuses to answer questions about his involvement and while he's been caught out in a lie about his knowledge of those business dealings, you know, suspicions just abound.
