00:02:09.000 Hey, everybody, welcome to this episode of the Charlie Kirk Show.
00:02:11.000 With us is a friend of mine, someone who's been very generous to Turning Point USA, and he's a great American, Jim Lehman, and you're running for U.S. Senate in Arizona.
00:02:19.000 Charlie, it's time for Washington to see some real action on the U.S. Senate floor.
00:02:24.000 Somebody that's really going to stand up for America First, Arizona.
00:02:28.000 I'm going there to make sure it happens.
00:02:30.000 Well, I love to hear that.
00:02:31.000 And so you built a business here in Arizona.
00:02:35.000 Tell us about that.
00:02:36.000 Really a great foundation up.
00:02:38.000 Eight years ago, we brought in great guys from the coal and gas industry, which I had led for many years.
00:02:45.000 Second largest company in that industry was fortunate to not start it, but build it to what it was.
00:02:53.000 And then bringing those guys over, seeing an opportunity that said there's a new form of energy that if we focus with utility types, really strong power people, not looking at it as a greeny thing, but looking at it as a power thing, that we have the potential for it to become the lowest cost power of the grid.
00:03:11.000 And we've actually achieved that.
00:03:12.000 About five years ago, we hit parity with the lowest current then form natural gas.
00:03:18.000 We've continued to drive that down.
00:03:19.000 And today, Charlie, it's half the price of natural gas.
00:03:23.000 I'm a believer in American energy dominance, not just independence, as our past president said.
00:03:30.000 Yep.
00:03:30.000 Or Asteric guys that are in there now would not believe it.
00:03:33.000 But we just have a strong belief that we've got so much bountiful resources in the country.
00:03:39.000 Add solar to that mix.
00:03:42.000 We should absolutely not be doing what the Biden and Kelly administration are doing now, begging Saudi Arabia for more fuel and just crazy things like that when we've got it all here.
00:03:53.000 And it creates American jobs, too.
00:03:55.000 Absolutely.
00:03:56.000 And with mining, by the way, we should be doing much more of that.
00:03:59.000 But these are fantastic jobs in energy and mining.
00:04:02.000 High-wage jobs, right?
00:04:03.000 High-wage.
00:04:04.000 I was talking to the energy guy, the mining guys down in Nogales, that we have some of the largest deposits in the world of manganese that were sitting under, quote, forest service land.
00:04:14.000 It's our land as citizens that we've got to begin to figure out how we're going to make sure that happens to extract it.
00:04:21.000 The beginning job at $78,000 as a machinery operator.
00:04:25.000 Wow.
00:04:26.000 8,000 counting the indirect jobs just in one mine.
00:04:29.000 So same in energy.
00:04:31.000 It's just craziness that's going on in D.C. today, and that's as a business guy.
00:04:36.000 That's what I intend to bring, Charlie, to the U.S. Senate.
00:04:39.000 A lot of common sense.
00:04:40.000 That's probably about 70% of it.
00:04:42.000 That's right.
00:04:42.000 And then we go from there.
00:04:44.000 So before that, you played football at the University of Alabama, right?
00:04:47.000 Had two great years, Coach Bryant.
00:04:50.000 Love for Bear Bryant.
00:04:51.000 What was that like?
00:04:52.000 Oh, it's whatever the toughest thing you've ever done.
00:04:56.000 Yeah.
00:04:56.000 Kind of multiplied about 10.
00:04:58.000 So that was tougher than even building the business.
00:04:58.000 Is that right?
00:05:00.000 Oh, absolutely.
00:05:01.000 But so such a learning experience that if you put your mind to it and soul and guts and the whole package and you go after it every day to be a national champion, not to win a game, just.
00:05:15.000 And you guys won the national title.
00:05:17.000 The team that I went there with did.
00:05:19.000 I stayed two years, Charlie, and then moved back into civil engineering and great time in the military.
00:05:25.000 Those who stayed, and I just visited with them, they threw a big fundraiser for me back one of the games this year in Alabama.
00:05:31.000 They wear that ring very proudly at the end of their time at Alabama.
00:05:36.000 They know how to win football games.
00:05:38.000 Actually, Arizona Cardinals are pretty good this year.
00:05:39.000 Oh, fantastic.
00:05:40.000 I was going to say you could teach them, but they're actually pretty good.
00:05:43.000 Hill Brother Bidwell and team and guys have just done a phenomenal job there.
00:05:47.000 So a lot of people are interested in this race.
00:05:52.000 So we're airing this to our national audience.
00:05:54.000 We're headquartered in Arizona and we're talking to all the candidates.
00:05:57.000 And I've known you for a long time and I could speak to your character.
00:06:00.000 You've been very good to us.
00:06:01.000 I want to make sure everyone knows that.
00:06:03.000 But there's a common theme where people are worried that we're going to get someone who talks a good game and does something different.
00:06:12.000 Talk a little bit about that.
00:06:13.000 That's one of the reasons why you're running, isn't it?
00:06:15.000 Exactly, Charlie.
00:06:17.000 The quintessential example of that is who we have in the Senate now.
00:06:20.000 Mark Kelly as a moderate.
00:06:22.000 I don't think many people believe that, but we can see what's occurred in his Senate time there.
00:06:27.000 He's voting, of course, 100% with what the most left want.
00:06:31.000 Unionization of Arizona, open borders, CRT.
00:06:35.000 I mean, just crazy things that he's doing there.
00:06:38.000 As a veteran and a businessman, you can't do that in business.
00:06:43.000 You can't promise your customers one thing and do another.
00:06:45.000 You won't have a customer.
00:06:47.000 And then other customers will understand that's not a company to be trusted.
00:06:51.000 So look very forward to doing that in Washington.
00:06:54.000 I've talked all across this beautiful state, 1,000 miles a week, and record audiences, just great enthusiasm.
00:07:02.000 That guys, from our priorities for the layman campaign, number one, secure the southern border.
00:07:08.000 Without borders, we just don't have a country.
00:07:11.000 Number two, let's get back to America first.
00:07:14.000 Not China first, like Biden and Kelly seem to have done, but America first.
00:07:20.000 And then thirdly, get the federal government out of our face.
00:07:24.000 All these mandates and mandatory this and stuff.
00:07:27.000 We didn't have that when I grew up, and we just don't need it today.
00:07:30.000 We get back to solid American principles.
00:07:33.000 Trust locally, right?
00:07:35.000 The federal government is supposed to be fairly small.
00:07:37.000 They were given a limited amount of power.
00:07:39.000 I intend to be hell-bent on making sure we get it back to that on the U.S. Senate floor.
00:07:44.000 So the type of senator you'll be will be someone who will obviously fight.
00:07:49.000 Are there any people that inspire right now in the Senate that you think that's the type of senator I want to be?
00:07:55.000 Well, I've seen Cotton stand up quite a bit.
00:07:57.000 You love Tom Cotton on our head.
00:07:58.000 Is really, I think some of the things that, and a military guy is as well.
00:08:03.000 Really good on immigration.
00:08:05.000 Really good on immigration.
00:08:06.000 And by the way, getting some really strong influence coaching and understanding in depth of the border situation myself from the fact being endorsed by the National Board of Patrol Council, all 21,000 members endorsed me the earliest ever.
00:08:23.000 Brandon Judd, Tom Holt.
00:08:24.000 I know Brandon, he's a good guy.
00:08:26.000 They are front and center in policy because I look at it, Charlie, as I'm coming to the table as the leader and the strategic guy in this beautiful team, just like you build in a business where you got the best expert in engineering or construction, those type of things.
00:08:42.000 The same way is it with Brandon on the border.
00:08:46.000 Each individual of our policies, about 20, by the way, we're building on our website even to let people know that we're not going to do, say, one thing and do another, is having those experts with us so that we absolutely, we've got to go work our tails off.
00:09:00.000 You know, we're not going there to take vacations.
00:09:03.000 We're going there to get business done for the people of Arizona in this country.
00:09:07.000 And that's been really rare.
00:09:09.000 So talk a little bit more about the immigration issue.
00:09:11.000 What are some of the specifics?
00:09:13.000 Because it seems that there's been a lot of promises made.
00:09:15.000 So, for example, President Trump, who you and I both admire greatly and you supported generously throughout the campaign and bundled a lot of money for him, he was not able to get the Senate partners to build his border wall.
00:09:29.000 Is that something that you would openly support?
00:09:31.000 Charlie, absolutely.
00:09:32.000 In talking with Brandon, number one is remaining in Mexico policy and really enforce it, not just speak to it, but really enforce it.
00:09:39.000 Number two, complete the remaining 124 miles of the wall that we need.
00:09:44.000 Third, mandatory E-Verify.
00:09:48.000 And then fourth, in sanctuary cities.
00:09:50.000 So deep in a policy understanding of that goes much deeper with Brandon and the guys, but helping me to understand that in depth.
00:09:58.000 And it's just a fact that people are coming from around the world.
00:10:02.000 This is not a humanitarian issue of our friends and neighbors in Mexico.
00:10:06.000 This is out of control.
00:10:07.000 That's right.
00:10:08.000 And it's subsidized by other governments, too.
00:10:10.000 Other governments that are emptying their prisons.
00:10:12.000 That's right.
00:10:13.000 That's exactly right.
00:10:15.000 Yes.
00:10:15.000 Military-age males coming here.
00:10:18.000 This is an invasion.
00:10:19.000 And the people of Arizona are not just scared.
00:10:22.000 They are radically upset that their state is being used for this as a kind of...
00:10:28.000 Look at the fentanyl coming through.
00:10:31.000 China, who wants this country, working overtime to produce fentanyl, pushing it through the border.
00:10:37.000 And you can see it in the spikes that we're seeing in the crime.
00:10:40.000 The Arizona Police Association has endorsed also, by the way, my campaign, the earliest ever.
00:10:47.000 And also, the 50 largest agencies were unanimous.
00:10:50.000 Never happened before.
00:10:52.000 They see morale down significantly because things like the border.
00:10:56.000 They're supposed to keep our streets safe, yet we've got crime rampant because they open border in large part.
00:11:03.000 These things, Charlie, are straightforward, America-first items, common sense, and get back to doing what Americans and Arizona folks here expect me to do.
00:11:12.000 Well, and I'm really worried about Arizona for a variety of reasons.
00:11:15.000 We live here now, my wife and I.
00:11:17.000 I love Arizona, especially this time of year.
00:11:19.000 It's no better place in the world.
00:11:22.000 And the streets are safe and clean, but you're starting to see things change.
00:11:26.000 An increase in panhandling, 2 a.m., 3 a.m. being woken up by cop cars going by.
00:11:34.000 Not to say that's necessarily anything new, but there's been an increase in crime in certain areas, and it's really, it's bothering normal people in Arizona, which has always been a very family-friendly state.
00:11:46.000 And you built a business here, you know, you built a whole life here.
00:11:49.000 Talk about kind of the Arizona way of life.
00:11:52.000 What makes it unique?
00:11:53.000 And what are some of the direct challenges to that, especially when it comes to crime and public safety?
00:12:00.000 Let me say, Charlie, that in the company I built, 1,742 jobs in Arizona across the country.
00:12:07.000 Okay.
00:12:08.000 Headquartered right here in Arizona, lots of great engineering jobs and other management positions here.
00:12:14.000 And I'm a hands-on guy.
00:12:16.000 I go out to the job sites and I understand where people's heads are at relative to the country.
00:12:21.000 No one wants the depression in wages that open border brings.
00:12:25.000 American citizens should all be able to climb the economic ladder that we should be able to provide for them.
00:12:31.000 And we're seeing that a lot in Arizona because we're such a funnel, such a conduit because our border is so open across our beautiful state.
00:12:40.000 The drug centers that are here that are funneling it across the country.
00:12:45.000 That's just not what Arizona is about.
00:12:47.000 I have a vision that in, again, being very hands-on and spending a fair amount of time in Nogalis and Yuma and Tucson, they want the same things that we want in Scottsdale or in Lake Havasu.
00:13:00.000 They want their kids to grow up, enjoy great schools, have access to good medical care, have safe streets, safe homes, have an aspiration of moving up the ladder economically.
00:13:12.000 The Biden-Kelly guys are totally trying to destroy that with their open border globalist policies, bringing it back to America first, manufacturing back to America, which I'd love to talk a little bit about.
00:13:25.000 I want to.
00:13:26.000 Done so much in our company in that respect.
00:13:28.000 Those are the ways up.
00:13:30.000 Mining our own products, which we have bountiful supplies of.
00:13:33.000 Not saying it's being extremely smart.
00:13:35.000 It's a lot of common sense.
00:13:37.000 But have the guts to go to the U.S. Senate floor and demand that that occur for our citizens versus the sellout that occurs so often, Communist Chinese Party and others.
00:13:47.000 In both parties, by the way, Republican and Democrat.
00:13:50.000 Oh, Charlie, it's shameful.
00:13:51.000 But you're right.
00:13:52.000 And that's something we must recognize.
00:13:56.000 I've been telling you guys about Relief Factor for quite some time.
00:13:59.000 And truth is, I know millions of people are, in fact, 100 million people are in some kind of pain.
00:14:03.000 Look, producer Andrew, he couldn't walk.
00:14:05.000 He was a hobbled individual.
00:14:07.000 He was bedridden in his chair complaining all the time.
00:14:11.000 And then all of a sudden we got this call from Relief Factor.
00:14:14.000 They said, hey, we want to partner with your show.
00:14:15.000 We're going to send you some Relief Factor.
00:14:17.000 Producer Andrew got it.
00:14:18.000 He took it, got a little bit better, took some more, got a little bit better.
00:14:22.000 Next thing you know, he's doing the Fallsberry flop like you wouldn't believe.
00:14:25.000 In fact, he might be training for an Ironman.
00:14:29.000 It's pretty incredible.
00:14:30.000 Now, he says it's thanks to Relief Factor.
00:14:32.000 I ask him all the time, Relief Factor?
00:14:33.000 He says relieffactor.com, 100% drug-free supplement.
00:14:36.000 You can get it for less than the cost of a cup of coffee a day.
00:14:38.000 So go to relieffactor.com, and I'm suggesting you order their three-week quick start to see if we can get you out of pain.
00:14:44.000 And then after that, it's less than the cost of a cup of coffee a day to stay out of pain.
00:14:47.000 So go to relieffactor.com.
00:14:48.000 That is relieffactor.com.
00:14:50.000 I'm telling you, a lot of people are in pain.
00:14:52.000 It's 100% drug-free.
00:14:53.000 Don't go to opioids.
00:14:54.000 Don't go to these other things.
00:14:55.000 Check it out at relieffactor.com.
00:15:01.000 So you brought it up, and I was going to ask you, let's just talk about generally your business guy.
00:15:05.000 You could see things in the numbers.
00:15:08.000 And especially you've created manufacturing jobs and things that are finite.
00:15:15.000 I have to say that technology is not important, but you see the, you've probably, as a businessman, especially up until you sell your business, you saw the increase of prices and how inflation was impacting regular people.
00:15:29.000 Talk a little bit about that and then talk about what the U.S. Senate needs to do to restore faith and confidence in the U.S. dollar because we have a 10% trim right now, a year, on the value of the U.S. dollar.
00:15:42.000 Playing right up out of the Chinese Communist Party playbook.
00:15:46.000 The value of the dollar had the wand as a global currency.
00:15:49.000 And unfortunately, it's going to be potentially game over for our currency when that occurs.
00:15:55.000 We cannot let that happen.
00:15:57.000 These current policies of printing endless money cannot continue to occur.
00:16:02.000 One of the big principal reasons that I'm running in this race.
00:16:05.000 In our company, we took an approach of America first and worked very hard with American suppliers.
00:16:14.000 And we'd say, here's the global price.
00:16:16.000 We can't pay a lot extra.
00:16:17.000 We'll pay a little bit for that great American quality and keep it in country.
00:16:21.000 So work with them.
00:16:22.000 Do we give them a bigger order?
00:16:23.000 Do we help a little bit more on upfront cash flow because they wanted to keep those jobs?
00:16:27.000 You're going to see some beautiful testimonials of myself against Mark Kelly about American jobs created in manufacturing and services versus his sellout to China.
00:16:39.000 By doing that, we secured our supply chains, which has gone crazy as well as inflation.
00:16:45.000 By buying with these vendors, when they have price increases they must pass on, we understand that, but they don't gouge because they know we've helped them build their companies, expand their companies, and they've been partners all along the way, right here in America.
00:16:59.000 Someone from China could care less.
00:17:01.000 And in a solar industry, which China provides many of the products globally, we were able to get that at the time of seller company.
00:17:08.000 We were down to 5% of Chinese manufactured goods.
00:17:12.000 And even in that percentage, we were looking at acquiring American manufacturing to take that to zero.
00:17:20.000 So the American currency of what debt we have now, these crazy numbers that the politicians have racked up, causing tremendous pressure on the currency.
00:17:29.000 Another policy going to the Senate is live within our means.
00:17:34.000 You know, we send $3.5 trillion.
00:17:36.000 That's enough.
00:17:37.000 And we're borrowing another $3.5 trillion.
00:17:39.000 So let me ask you, Jim, something specific.
00:17:42.000 There's been a fight the last couple of months with McConnell with the debt ceiling.
00:17:49.000 Do you think if you were a senator right now, would you be voting to raise the debt ceiling right now?
00:17:54.000 I've sit on the trail.
00:17:54.000 Never.
00:17:56.000 I will never sign a debt increase for our country.
00:18:00.000 We have to understand how to live within our means.
00:18:04.000 We have to prioritize.
00:18:05.000 What are those priorities?
00:18:06.000 There's number one, safety, both militarily, our Border Patrol, our men and women in uniform across the country and law enforcement.
00:18:17.000 Number two, the most needy, those who can't take care of themselves mentally or physically.
00:18:21.000 Third, those who've counted on Social Security and Medicare.
00:18:24.000 And after that, Charlie, everything's on the table.
00:18:27.000 One beautiful just nugget waiting to be taken off the list is the Department of Education, which we no longer need.
00:18:34.000 I'm a big fan of that one.
00:18:36.000 Let's get rid of the Department of Energy.
00:18:39.000 They're always behind industry, much more.
00:18:41.000 But my point is we've really got to live within our means.
00:18:44.000 We can't keep piling this debt on our kids and grandkids.
00:18:47.000 It's just unethical, much less un-American.
00:18:51.000 And I intend to be brutal.
00:18:52.000 I mean, it has got to be done.
00:18:54.000 In our business, we always had to balance our budgets in our homes.
00:18:58.000 We built a billion-dollar business in eight years, owned no debt.
00:19:02.000 So I understand about making priorities.
00:19:04.000 I understand about hard work.
00:19:06.000 And I'm up for it.
00:19:07.000 I volunteer for it, and I want to help our country.
00:19:10.000 So you know a fair amount about infrastructure, and there was this infrastructure package that was passed, which we were very critical of on the show.
00:19:20.000 Would that be something you would support?
00:19:22.000 Talk a little bit about that.
00:19:24.000 I support infrastructure, but not in the ways that we've just seen it.
00:19:28.000 It was a guise to try to make people believe bridges and things like that, because we do have those needs.
00:19:35.000 But we have a tax on our gasoline, on our diesel fuel, and products of that nature.
00:19:42.000 That's what that's supposed to go to.
00:19:45.000 And it's not being used.
00:19:46.000 Going into the general fund and do everything else.
00:19:49.000 I read Sonema's text or her story on infrastructure, and literally, over the 10-year period, there was only $7 billion going to come to Arizona anyway.
00:19:59.000 That's right.
00:19:59.000 I mean, my goodness, a drop-in-the-bucket to the trillions plus that they have authorized to go into, gosh knows, things that have nothing to do with what we as Americans would want to see in our airports, roads, and bridges and things of that nature.
00:20:15.000 Airport's a good example of how a bond issue works.
00:20:18.000 You know, Americans buy those bonds and we update our airports and they get a little revenue stream back.
00:20:24.000 We have, like I said, the tax regas.
00:20:27.000 We really got to get back to what those were originally supplied.
00:20:30.000 What can we pay for?
00:20:31.000 What can we afford to pay for?
00:20:32.000 And what are our priorities?
00:20:34.000 All of this other stuff, the Green New Deal and all this craziness that they talk about.
00:20:38.000 Solar, as I said earlier, we've already driven utility scale, big scale.
00:20:43.000 It doesn't need more government interference, more government push.
00:20:46.000 The private sector has that and running with it under President Trump beautifully.
00:20:51.000 The only government interference I'd have with solar is that they should be made in America, not mainland China, is that we need to manufacture our products here.
00:21:00.000 President Trump's tariffs, and going back to the big picture of manufacturing, bringing manufacturing back to America, in that scenario where those tariffs were placed, it brought manufacturing in solar panels back in part into the U.S.
00:21:15.000 And, of course, we have panels we were requiring in Europe.
00:21:19.000 My view of China and India or others is that they need to play with a level playing field.
00:21:26.000 American businesses have to have reasonable pollution standards, reasonable workplace safety rules, reasonable wages and insurance, and et cetera.
00:21:35.000 If you don't comply with that internationally, then you've got to pay the toll before it comes on shore.
00:21:41.000 That's right.
00:21:41.000 So it's a level playing field.
00:21:43.000 And by the way, use those tariffs not into the general fund.
00:21:46.000 Put those in investment tax credits to rebuild American manufacturing.
00:21:50.000 I totally agree.
00:21:51.000 Redo American mining and processing of those ores onshore.
00:21:56.000 So again, we can balance those.
00:21:58.000 And one thing that I disagree with the president on the tariff was don't do it on a total Navarro.
00:22:04.000 Don't do it 30% one day.
00:22:06.000 Give us 10% a year.
00:22:08.000 We can absorb it over that period of time by everybody in the system finding a way to make it work like good American innovation does.
00:22:16.000 And then we could preserve construction jobs that are already in the pipeline.
00:22:20.000 What unfortunately occurred is it was slammed at 30%.
00:22:24.000 And I testified to that point.
00:22:26.000 Go a little more incremental.
00:22:28.000 But irrespective, we've since recovered over that period of time.
00:22:32.000 So I'm very big on American manufacturing coming back, in particular to Arizona.
00:22:37.000 We've got great right-to-work laws, assuming Mark Kelly doesn't screw it up before we get to the Southern.
00:22:43.000 I think he will.
00:22:44.000 We've got great talent here, great universities here, great technical schools, great climate.
00:22:51.000 As you can see with Taiwan bringing their facilities here, there's so many other industries right here in Arizona, particularly, I'm a big proponent, as I've told the folks down in Ogalis and Yuma and Tucson, in the rural areas, in Payson, and in places where we want our kids to grow up in Arizona and stay there.
00:23:14.000 Don't need everyone coming into Scottsdale and Phoenix.
00:23:18.000 Let's have this beautiful state that has manufacturing spread all over it and bring it back because we level the playing field.
00:23:24.000 And that to me is a core principle of a U.S. senator to put America first.
00:23:31.000 Start the new year off with free meat.

00:25:12.000 So, one of the things a senator is able to do is authorize oversight and kind of look at federal bureaucracies or agencies or spending bills.
00:25:19.000 There's been almost no oversight done recently because of Chuck Schumer and all of that.
00:25:24.000 One of the issues that is a big concern to our viewers and our listeners is something that is one of the chapters in the saga that happened recently with the head of the Scottsdale Unified School District Board, Jan Michael Greenberg, who was issuing dossiers on parents locally.
00:25:40.000 Maybe illegally, definitely unethical, and that shouldn't be on a school board.
00:25:44.000 That's done in tandem with Merrick Garland, the Attorney General of the United States, who authorized the Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security to use the Patriot Act against moms and dads.
00:25:53.000 Will you, as a U.S. Senator, prioritize finding out what happened with Merrick Garland, the AG, because we are seeing the almost criminalization of parents because they dare ask questions about their kids' education?
00:26:07.000 Great point, and an urgency for our country.
00:26:09.000 Education is our future for our kids.
00:26:13.000 Amanda Rea and the parents who have stood up, I've supported them Foursquare and in terms of their efforts.
00:26:18.000 We've rallied with them, I've promised them financial support if they decide they need to go after the school board in order to get justice.
00:26:25.000 Good.
00:26:26.000 Thank you for this.
00:26:27.000 And great parents.
00:26:28.000 I mean, this is a huge stand.
00:26:31.000 Another corollary, Charlie, is a beautiful thing occurring in our state where parents are rising up to take over those school board positions.
00:26:39.000 That's going to be a beautiful thing coming up in this next election as we see that occur.
00:26:44.000 I've had my team of these many endorsements that I've been fortunate to garner in this election and asking them in the Department of Justice: what is it that at the core we want them to continue to do, and what do we not want them to do?
00:27:01.000 Because they've just grown and expanded so much.
00:27:03.000 They've used the tragedy of 9-11, right, when we needed some more surveillance to now get into the private lives of America, which was never intended for that.
00:27:12.000 And if we've got to de-sculpt that and bring it back, which I believe we do, then that's got to be a priority.
00:27:17.000 And those people who have chased General Flynn versus Hillary Clinton, what better example do you have of the miscarriage of justice and not going after Hunter Biden?
00:27:29.000 And not going after Hunter, going after parents.
00:27:32.000 That's right.
00:27:33.000 I mean, the insanity is, Charlie, what has awakened me to not just support conservatives very generously financial over the years for America First folks, but to get into this race and to beat Mark Kelly because you're going to need people in the Senate floor.
00:27:51.000 And God bless Herschel.
00:27:53.000 Come on and be up there with me.
00:27:54.000 I love Herschel.
00:27:55.000 We're 100% behind him.
00:27:56.000 We will, in tandem, bring, of course, he's not a linebacker.
00:28:00.000 He was only a fairly good.
00:28:02.000 He did win the Heisman.
00:28:03.000 Fairly good halfback, fullback.
00:28:05.000 But the point being is bring that tenacity to the floor and have Cotton and Cruz and those guys say, hey, guys.
00:28:13.000 Rand Paul, all of them.
00:28:14.000 We're going to go full square against this Marxism, this creep that's going into our system.
00:28:20.000 You guys understand how this works.
00:28:22.000 You come in behind us.
00:28:24.000 I'm fortunate to bring a staff, as I mentioned, with Brandon Judd and those type of people in each position that I will be able to help tremendously, I believe, to get things going.
00:28:33.000 Well, that kind of oversight is necessary, as you well know.
00:28:35.000 And we need senators who are willing to overturn the tables.
00:28:39.000 And I mean, we would love nothing more than for Arizona's own senator to become known as the oversight guy for the border and for the education issue, especially.
00:28:50.000 So I want to talk about another issue that's a big concern to a lot of people, which is vaccine mandates, our response to the virus, not finding the originations of the virus from China, not looking into it.
00:29:03.000 Talk just in general about this.
00:29:05.000 And something that is not always talked about is that we've had an upside-down wealth transfer of $3.8 trillion that I'm sure you benefited from and others did.
00:29:17.000 But muscular class workers, they were locked down and they weren't able to have the same sort of, you know, I don't want to say opportunities, but there's no doubt that the lockdowns helped the rich.
00:29:27.000 And I'm not to say that no one deserved to benefit from it, but at the same time, that sort of government interference has created a real lopsided economic condition for some people.
00:29:37.000 Do you think our response to the virus is appropriate?
00:29:39.000 And what will you do as senator to try to basically right the wrongs?
00:29:43.000 Let me go all the way back to what I think is the root of that evil, and that is Communist Chinese Party.
00:29:48.000 Yes.
00:29:48.000 I served six years, a military officer, paratrooper, engineer officer, front lines, Cold War.
00:29:54.000 Did a lot of training, great training in the military in those days.
00:29:57.000 And I always look at my enemy as my enemy, not as my friend.
00:30:03.000 And that's what Communist China is.
00:30:05.000 So they are an enemy.
00:30:06.000 They are an enemy.
00:30:07.000 That's an important thing because most senators won't call them that.
00:30:09.000 As the Soviet Union was when I was here.
00:30:11.000 That's music to my ears.
00:30:13.000 I'm tired of hearing rival and adversary, all that nonsense.
00:30:16.000 They have no place in Wall Street.
00:30:17.000 They have no place in our universities.
00:30:19.000 They have no place in being given preferential treatment.
00:30:23.000 They're still called a developing country.
00:30:25.000 It's nonsense.
00:30:26.000 All of that must stop as America first.
00:30:29.000 So then we start recognizing we're pushing back.
00:30:32.000 We're now rebuilding our American country.
00:30:35.000 And we're not isolationists, but we're going to bring that out to the rest of the world from within, not bring it from external.
00:30:42.000 And so we're going to start looking at, okay, what was the origin of that?
00:30:44.000 I think an open dialogue about that would produce.
00:30:49.000 I think a special committee in the Senate would be a cool thing.
00:30:51.000 Exactly.
00:30:52.000 I think there's about $4 or $5 trillion of repatriation owed to this country from Chinese party on reparations.
00:31:00.000 Exactly.
00:31:00.000 So in looking at that situation, that's kind of that core root book that I want to bring those kinds of big ideas and must do things to the U.S. Senate floor.
00:31:11.000 Then we've got to get back to the working man and woman in this country.
00:31:16.000 That's my priority, just like in rural Arizona.
00:31:20.000 That's my priority, is that get it back to those who work with our hands.
00:31:24.000 I've got a special muscular class members.
00:31:28.000 You can use that.
00:31:30.000 My first job of shoveling manures and Alabama.
00:31:35.000 The point is that those are the people who pay the taxes, who deserve that hand up.
00:31:41.000 We must get away from this two-class system.
00:31:43.000 It's got to be participatory by everybody in this country who believes that they can climb the economic ladder, as I've been fortunate and blessed to do.
00:31:51.000 So one of the things that is confusing people is this worker shortage.
00:31:55.000 We're seeing it in Scottsdale.
00:31:57.000 We're seeing it in Phoenix.
00:31:58.000 I'm sure you've seen it.
00:31:59.000 Part of it is we're paying people not to work, which was one of the dumbest things ever.
00:32:03.000 What you just articulated, though, is that you want to have a vision where people own stuff and they're bought into the system.
00:32:09.000 Is that right?
00:32:10.000 Have the opportunity to do that.
00:32:11.000 Level the playing field.
00:32:13.000 Yes.
00:32:14.000 So what does that look like?
00:32:15.000 What would you recommend?
00:32:16.000 Those American jobs belong to Americans, right?
00:32:18.000 Not to open borders, not to China dumping product into our country.
00:32:22.000 They must apply by the same rules that we do.
00:32:26.000 And then build it up from the ground up by using those tariffs as investment tax credits to rebuild businesses.
00:32:33.000 The system today is rigged for those in big tech or on Wall Street, things of that nature.
00:32:39.000 You've got to have people on the Senate floor who can't be bought.
00:32:43.000 And Charlie, I am.
00:32:44.000 So let's talk about that.
00:32:45.000 That's an important thing because, sorry to interrupt.
00:32:47.000 Sure.
00:32:48.000 But almost every politician needs to fill their coffers with some special interest.
00:32:51.000 What makes you different?
00:32:53.000 Fortunately, I don't have to do it, right?
00:32:54.000 Built a great company, and I intend to use that along with the great folks across this beautiful country in Arizona coming in with us.
00:33:03.000 And we've thousands of small donations that are coming into our campaign already.
00:33:10.000 Use that to say, I'm not going to be allowed.
00:33:13.000 I'm not taking any lobbyist dollars.
00:33:15.000 I'm not taking any PAC dollars.
00:33:17.000 No lobbyist dollars.
00:33:18.000 Zero.
00:33:19.000 Then you're free to be the American patriot and statesman that the people of Arizona and this country expect you to be.
00:33:28.000 You're not taking money from corporate PACs or any of that.
00:33:31.000 Exactly.
00:33:32.000 That's new.
00:33:33.000 This is my money and those of Arizona and across this country who want a U.S. senator that will be America first, will stand up for them, will fight for them.
00:33:44.000 And if I got to have Herschel come alongside and we got to go too wide and go up the middle, that's what we've got to do.
00:33:51.000 Because we've got to refocus on America.
00:33:54.000 We can't keep kicking these cans down the road, or there's not going to be a road.
00:33:59.000 This is really time-certain in this election upcoming versus Communist Chinese Party and their minions in Biden and Kelly and these others who are selling out our country.
00:34:11.000 It's very obvious with the votes they take.
00:34:13.000 And get back to America first.
00:34:15.000 So we have a couple minutes remaining.
00:34:16.000 I want to ask you two final things.
00:34:18.000 The first thing is one of the things a senator is tasked with is personnel and approving and staffing a government for the Biden regime or not.
00:34:26.000 And then also judges.
00:34:28.000 So let's start with judges.
00:34:30.000 What will you be looking for in judges?
00:34:32.000 It's a very important part of a U.S. senator, which is approving or rejecting judge nominees from a president.
00:34:40.000 Very simple.
00:34:41.000 U.S. Constitution is what this country is built on.
00:34:43.000 Amen.
00:34:44.000 If you don't like it, there's great places for you to go.
00:34:48.000 I've offered, and in fact, one lady took me up on it.
00:34:50.000 We're working with her right now for that one-way ticket to Caracas.
00:34:53.000 Oh, she is?
00:34:54.000 She has to live there at least five years and never ask for a dime?
00:34:58.000 And not ask for a dime nor vote.
00:34:59.000 I would love to send a camera crew with her when there's no running water and food's infected and you lose 12 pounds in the first month.
00:35:06.000 Oh, it's like a great weight loss strategy, though.
00:35:09.000 Those are opportunities, right?
00:35:10.000 If you want to go there and be of that.
00:35:12.000 But in our judges, you know, we've got a Constitution.
00:35:15.000 It's very clear to me.
00:35:16.000 It was written with a lot of great insight with a lot of people who love this country and a good Lord that helped them through the writing of that.
00:35:26.000 It's just a beautiful document.
00:35:27.000 That's number one and a core principle.
00:35:29.000 It's not to invent laws.
00:35:32.000 That's not their job.
00:35:33.000 We have a judicial, legislative, executive branch, and that's what they were set up for.
00:35:38.000 Also, with the legislative side, you know, you need to get back to doing your job.
00:35:46.000 You know, don't let the executive group run wild with endless wars.
00:35:49.000 Oh, I totally agree.
00:35:50.000 Don't let them put the State Department in charge of an operation in Afghanistan when the military should be the last out.
00:35:59.000 And that was a disgrace what happened.
00:36:00.000 An absolute disgrace on the wall in our campaign offices, the faces of those 13 Marines.
00:36:05.000 Every day we come to work.
00:36:06.000 Guys, this is why it's so important.
00:36:09.000 This kind of thing must stop now.
00:36:12.000 So it's very straightforward.
00:36:13.000 We've got a great constitution.
00:36:15.000 America first, not China, not anyone else.
00:36:19.000 And that's a pretty common sense approach that it doesn't take much to judge people in terms of being approving or not approving in government positions.
00:36:27.000 So the last thing I want to ask you about is the importance of this race.
00:36:30.000 And I'll just kind of clarify this for our audience because there'll be people listening to this all across the country.
00:36:34.000 Arizona currently has two Democrat senators and Biden won.
00:36:39.000 I put it in parentheses, air quotes, because whatever.
00:36:42.000 You know, I'm not so sure of that, but whatever.
00:36:46.000 And so Mark Kelly and Kirsten Sinema, Mark Kelly's up right now.
00:36:51.000 If we want to take back the Senate, there is no path to do that without defeating Mark Kelly.
00:36:56.000 Talk about the national importance of Arizona and then talk a little bit about Mark Kelly, why he's so vulnerable and why we must defeat him.
00:37:05.000 Well, Mark Renn is a moderate, right?
00:37:07.000 And he has been anything but.
00:37:10.000 With our ads that are beginning to air present day and will go all the way through the election, there will be no doubt in the minds of Arizona what the contrast between layman policy and Mark Kelly are.
00:37:22.000 And it's very, very stark.
00:37:24.000 A America last in Mark Kelly, America first in layman.
00:37:29.000 And that's what I intend for everybody to understand.
00:37:31.000 So there's a very clear distinction.
00:37:33.000 I will not be easy on him.
00:37:36.000 He has got some terrible voting records.
00:37:38.000 Already.
00:37:39.000 He is terrible against the Second Amendment.
00:37:41.000 He has voted for open borders.
00:37:43.000 His people go on politico and brag about driving the buses from the border and et cetera.
00:37:48.000 I am all about Americans first.
00:37:50.000 And you're going to see all those type of contrasts with the endorsements that have come our way aplenty with even today, American Conservative Union, CPAC, Matt, Mercedes-Slapp, Matt Whitaker, and you'll see dozens of others on our website.
00:38:09.000 That's what I intend is to understand this race in policy of what Arizona and America want to put America first.
00:38:18.000 We're going to run it very hard.
00:38:19.000 We're going to run it very strong.
00:38:21.000 We're working 13 hours a day, six days a week now.
00:38:25.000 Arizona will start to see it on all these ads.
00:38:27.000 And I'm out there.
00:38:28.000 We're out with all the folks because this is not a seat of a person.
00:38:33.000 This is a seat for Arizona.
00:38:35.000 Arizona is a leader.
00:38:37.000 People come here around the country for the American dream, right?
00:38:41.000 This is a great, beautiful state, great, beautiful people.
00:38:44.000 And I intend to represent them with strong vigor.
00:38:47.000 I'm not going to hide in the basement or wherever Kelly is at.
00:38:50.000 Yeah, he's MIA.
00:38:51.000 I am going to be able to do that.
00:38:52.000 What are you seeing on the ground?
00:38:53.000 What are you seeing from people as you travel this state?
00:38:55.000 Oh, my gosh, the enthusiasm.
00:38:57.000 I mean, Charlie, you know, I ask even the organizers of the meeting, if it's a club meeting or an LD meeting or things of that nature, could you look up and see what the audience was exactly one year ago?
00:39:08.000 Our audiences are running 40% greater than the presidential election year.
00:39:13.000 And we're bringing that because we're speaking to the people who want someone who will say now what they'll do, mean it, Stay the same in the general and stay the same in the U.S. Senate floor, which I intend very strongly to do.
00:39:28.000 And someone who will fight for them, someone not going to roll over, someone's not available to lobbyist or PAC.
00:39:34.000 I am only available to the people of Arizona in this great country to make sure that we put America first, the exact opposite of Mark Kelly.
00:39:43.000 And all the independents will see that as well, so that they understand how badly he's impacting their future as well.
00:39:50.000 Website: if people wanted to follow or support you, Jim Layman, L-A-M-O-N.com.

00:40:05.000 We'd love for you to join in the donation side of this equation as well.
00:40:09.000 Help me to make sure that we absolutely make these sharp contrasts and Mark Kelly and bring this Senate seat back to Arizona on the red side of the equation, but also really on the American first side of the equation.
00:40:23.000 Amen.
00:40:23.000 We've got to beat Mark Kelly.
00:40:24.000 Jim, thank you so much.
00:40:25.000 This is excellent.
