00:01:09.000Hey, everybody, welcome to the Charlie Kirk Show.
00:01:11.000We are joined by Rich Barris, People's Pundit.
00:01:15.000You can check him out on X, all sorts of things.
00:01:19.000People's pundit, founder of Big Data Poll, Rich Barris.
00:01:22.000Welcome back to the Charlie Kirk Show.
00:01:27.000Well, listen, man, we were talking yesterday and kind of getting some of the stuff ready for Amfest for you, which you're going to be doing a breakout with Mark Mitchell on some of the polling that we need to be aware of, what's going on.
00:01:42.000And one of the things you brought up was the fact that with all this conspiracy craziness going on, we're getting distracted off of the rise of left-wing violence.
00:01:50.000And I just want to alert everybody that as soon as I have a clip that just happened where Erica Kirk was on with Harrison Faulkner on Fox News on Outnumbered, I'm going to play that clip and I'm going to have it in as soon as I can.
00:02:06.000So if we have, but tell us about what we're missing when it comes to the rise of left-wing violence.
00:02:13.000Yeah, Andrew, this is a tragedy that we got lost in some of the other noise and nonsense, really.
00:02:21.000And we didn't have a conversation about some of the stuff that we found, which is, you know, it happened right under our nose.
00:02:29.000And somebody's, we're going to have to start to address this.
00:02:32.000And just to give people some ideas, you know, the right, and it's fair to say it's a right talking point that comes to the right about transgender identification, having a link to political violence.
00:02:46.000I mean, if you identify as a trans person, you're twice as likely to say that it's tolerable, it's acceptable to commit acts of political violence.
00:02:57.000And what that stems from is, I mean, this is the other side of it too.
00:03:03.000What that stems from is their perceived threat to themselves, right?
00:03:07.000They think that they're constantly under threat from some form of society or another, which, you know, I find interesting because I mean, I'm not obviously trans, but I don't see it.
00:03:19.000But basically, that's the relationship because it's not just a trans demographic.
00:03:24.000I just thought that we had to look at that because it was such a big part of the conversation when we saw mass shootings, right?
00:03:30.000Even when we were dealing with Charlie's case, right?
00:03:32.000I mean, this is all the stuff people have been talking about and debating on social media.
00:03:40.000But I think also too, the left feels, and I don't think they do, the left feels that it's acceptable to commit acts of violence on their political opponents, people they just disagree with, because they view speech itself to be violence, Andrew.
00:03:59.000And that is the big difference between the left and the right.
00:04:02.000The right views violence to be violence, and that's it, right?
00:04:06.000You can hurry, you know, sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me.
00:04:30.000And so many of these left-wing demographic groups have come up and have come to the conclusion that it's all right to physically hurt somebody that you disagree with.
00:05:05.000And you look at that aged cohort, 18 to 39-year-olds, it's at 30% of liberals in the 18 to 39 bracket believe that violence is justifiable to achieve political goals.
00:05:19.000And then it, you know, it goes down somewhat to in the 40 to 59-year-old bracket.
00:05:24.000Are you seeing similar results to this in your polling?
00:05:31.000If you're, you know, if you're 45 to 64, you're certainly more left-wing than you were 10 years ago in that age bucket.
00:05:38.000But there is still a disconnect with the left's younger cohorts where they just, like I said before, were not taught this very simple lesson that actually, I mean, let's be honest, Andrew, they were taught the opposite.
00:05:51.000They were taught about microaggressions and they were taught about that speech actually being violence.
00:05:57.000So they have this completely different worldview.
00:06:01.000So if you come to understand that, then it makes-I'm not saying it's rational, I'm not saying it's right, but I'm saying it makes sense that they commit so many acts of violence.
00:06:12.000We asked similar questions that such as we were trying to elicit an honest response from people.
00:06:18.000And one of the ones that was most illuminating was asking whether or not some people hold such beliefs or beliefs that are so bad that acts of violence are justified against them.
00:06:30.000Well, if you have a media telling you that this one's a Nazi, this one promotes this, this one does that, and you believe that, well, then suddenly, Andrew, you become the hero in your own story.
00:06:56.000He believed Donald Trump was a traitor.
00:06:58.000And he looked at Steve Scalise and other Republicans on Capitol Hill as enablers.
00:07:03.000And in his own mind, he wasn't a bad guy.
00:07:06.000He wasn't a guy who got a gun and committed a mass shooting.
00:07:09.000He was a guy who was saving the country from this infiltration.
00:07:14.000So, you know, I think the lesson here is that we all really do have to be a little bit more careful with our words.
00:07:21.000But we have entire institutions that are pushing these kinds of messages.
00:07:25.000And, you know, it's sad because we started to follow this trajectory to have this discussion in the wake of Charlie's murder.
00:07:33.000And we were, you know, in my opinion, so close to holding certain people accountable for their reckless, reckless disregard for anyone's safety when they use certain words to label their political opponents.
00:07:48.000And we got completely sidetracked from that.
00:07:50.000And we have to get back on it because it exists.
00:08:04.000He's, you know, he's been saying that he doesn't even know if his show can continue on.
00:08:08.000So my heart and my genuinely my prayers are out with Timpool.
00:08:12.000I mean, this stuff, you talk to Steven Crowder.
00:08:14.000Steven Crowder literally goes around with armed security everywhere he goes.
00:08:20.000This should not be the way that we have to live our lives in America if you're going to be a conservative.
00:08:25.000And the reason you have to is because of that poll that you are conducting right now, the poll that we saw from in just the immediate aftermath.
00:08:32.000So Blake has a theory with this YouGov poll that had Charlie not been assassinated, that number actually would have been quite a bit higher, that people were probably, you know, maybe moderating themselves a little bit.
00:08:43.000And so that it actually would you would have seen a higher number there.
00:08:49.000This whole thing is insane that you can't disagree.
00:08:52.000And I just really wonder, you know, what are the threats that they think are going to happen?
00:08:57.000You know, what voices are spreading this on Discord chats?
00:09:01.000What voices are spreading this on Twitch?
00:09:03.000What voices are spreading this anywhere that it's like, okay, that like some conservative is going to bust down your door and like drag you out because you're brown or something.
00:09:12.000I guess that's like the message, right?
00:09:14.000That they need to do this because of ICE or because of DHS or because Trump's a totalitarian or whatever.
00:11:28.000We've got that clip ready of Erica on Outnumbered, and it is amazing.
00:11:34.000With Erica Kirk sharing her journey with America and the world, we are grateful at Fox to have her here to shine a light on healing as we all miss and mourn the loss of her beloved Charlie Kirk.
00:11:47.000Not all of her journey has been without, well, hate, conspiracies, and oddly, speculation about where her husband is buried.
00:11:57.000Now for the first time, Erica, who's with me now, addresses all of it from the perspective of a grieving widow, a mom, and a battle-tested American.
00:12:35.000We will be building the most beautiful memorial for my husband at Turning Point USA, and it will be for the world to see, and it will be spectacular, and it will have basically museum style for our Charlie, for my Charlie.
00:12:51.000Can my babies have one thing where we hold it sacred, where my husband is laid to rest, where I don't have to be worried about some secular revolutionary coming and destroying my husband's grave while my daughter is sitting there praying?
00:13:30.000But I will tell you what they are doing.
00:13:33.000It reminds me so much of chapter six in the book of Nehemiah.
00:13:39.000He is building a wall, and the townspeople are at the base of that hill saying, Nehemiah, calling him all these names, saying all these things, come on down.
00:13:49.000Every single time he had the same message four times in a row.
00:13:57.000I do not have time to address the noise.
00:13:59.000My silence does not mean that I am complacent.
00:14:03.000My silence does not mean that somehow Turning Point USA and all of the hand-picked staff that loved my husband and my husband loved them is somehow in on it.
00:15:00.000But when you go after my family, my Turning Point USA family, my Charlie Kirk show family, when you go after the people that I love, and you're making hundreds and thousands of dollars every single episode going after the people that I love because somehow they're in on this.
00:18:10.000It reminds us that we're not as different as we may think.
00:18:13.000And that's what makes TikTok so powerful.
00:18:15.000It's a place where every post can turn into a conversation and every conversation can make a difference.
00:18:21.000Portions of our program are sponsored in part by TikTok.
00:18:26.000I want to bring on our next two guests here.
00:18:30.000We've got Gabby Stout, who's a high school student, as well as Tyson Langhoffer, who's a senior counselor with Alliance Defending Freedom, the good people over at Alliance Defending Freedom.
00:18:42.000And this is an incredible story because, well, I'm going to have them tell the story, actually.
00:18:49.000So Gabby and Tyson, welcome to the Charlie Kirk Show.
00:18:58.000Just tell us what you tried to do to honor Charlie and then tell us what happened next.
00:19:02.000Yes, so I painted the spirit rock at my high school, which is a large rock that you can paint to express your opinions and beliefs.
00:19:11.000And I painted the rock to honor and memorialize Charlie Kirk's life, as well as to honor God.
00:19:18.000On the rock, I painted A Heart, an American flag, Freedom 1776, and Live Like Kirk, John 11, 25.
00:19:26.000I painted these things because Charlie Kirk loved our country and he wanted our generation to also be proud of our country.
00:19:34.000I painted Live Like Kirk John 11, 25 because I wanted to give people hope that life doesn't end after death and that Charlie Kirk is living eternally in heaven, which is why I wrote John 11, 25, which says, I am the resurrection in the life.
00:19:48.000Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall live.
00:19:52.000Only hours after painting, my rock was covered up by the school, and I was accused by the school as committing a crime, and I vandalized the rock, even though I had permission from the school.
00:20:19.000So, Tyson Langhoff, your senior counsel with Alliance Defending Freedom, how did you guys hear about this incident?
00:20:26.000And why did you choose to get involved?
00:20:28.000Well, because, you know, high school students should be encouraged to share their beliefs and opinions on really important topics, but they shouldn't be censored by government officials who disagree with their opinions.
00:20:41.000And the school here has created an opportunity on their spirit rock for students to share their beliefs, yet they didn't like what Gabby had to say.
00:20:49.000And so, because of that, they not only censored her by painting over the rock, but they then sent out an email to the entire school community accusing her of vandalism and saying that they have started a criminal investigation.
00:21:00.000The next day at school, they called her into the principal's office and they demanded that she write out a statement without reading her rights or telling her she's under criminal investigation, telling her that she has the right to an attorney or telling her she has a right to remain silent.
00:21:15.000Because the school officials have created this forum, yet they're saying, because you share this opinion, we're not going to let you participate in that forum.
00:21:23.000That's a violation of the First Amendment.
00:21:38.000So after they interviewed Gabby and verified, yes, that she did have permission, eventually they silently closed the investigation and said, well, she didn't do anything wrong.
00:21:49.000Yet the problem is this had gone out to the entire Charlotte community.
00:21:53.000It was on the news that she had been accused of vandalism and that they were having a criminal investigation.
00:21:59.000And instead of clearing her name, they just silently closed it and acted as if nothing happened.
00:22:04.000But it's not just, it's not nothing when the government actually puts their foot on the scale and silences a high school student who simply wants to express her opinion and treats her like a criminal simply for expressing her views.
00:22:18.000That should never happen in America at a public school.
00:23:22.000You are the exact kind of student that we should be hoping is the product of our school system.
00:23:29.000And yet you are getting targeted and called out and singled out for doing something beautiful to honor Charlie.
00:23:37.000I just have to wonder, like, and maybe I'll throw this to you, Tyson, because I don't want to get Gabby in any more hot water here.
00:23:45.000I have to wonder, are there examples on this spirit rock that maybe celebrated LGBTQ?
00:23:52.000Are there examples of things that maybe conservatives wouldn't find so appealing?
00:23:58.000And were there any consequences for those demonstrations?
00:24:01.000So several years ago during the BLM movement, there were BLM, there were paintings of expressing support for BLM.
00:24:11.000And in fact, some other students ended up painting other messages on that.
00:24:17.000And the school officials stepped in and actually supported the supporters of BLM and encouraged them to go back and repaint that over.
00:24:27.000So obviously they allow political messages and they allow messages that are on important topics of the day.
00:24:36.000And they actually, again, are weighing in, putting their foot on the scale for certain views and trying to stamp out other views.
00:24:44.000And that's the exact opposite message that we want our government officials sending to the next generation.
00:24:49.000We want them to understand that the government allows all viewpoints, that they can't censor certain viewpoints.
00:24:57.000But, you know, in fact, after Gabby did this, they changed the policy.
00:25:00.000They now have a policy that says no religious or political messages, right?
00:25:05.000And we know who gets to determine what's religious and what's political.
00:25:08.000It's these same school officials who've already shown that they have a bias against people like Gabby who just want to share their support for Charlie Kirk and their support for Christian values.
00:25:21.000Yeah, I find that really appalling, actually, that their reaction to this would be to say no religious or political spirit rock demonstrations.
00:25:32.000I find that appalling because especially in Charlotte, North Carolina, I'm going to wager a guess here that would say that most people are Christians.
00:25:41.000Most people worship Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior in this part of the country.
00:25:46.000And that is a very key part of their personality, of what makes them have spirit in the first place.
00:25:52.000I find that actually a really appalling thing.
00:25:54.000And to your point, who's going to determine what's acceptable on that rock?
00:26:39.000I've watched him for many years, and I admired him as he went across campuses speaking to students, even people he didn't agree with, just having conversations with them.
00:26:50.000And I was absolutely distraught when he died, as I have never seen someone assassinated on social media because of their faith.
00:26:58.000And he was trying to teach people truth, which is the Bible.
00:27:03.000And he wanted people to be able to stand up and defend their faith.
00:27:14.000What does victory look like here in this Charlotte school?
00:27:17.000Well, one, we want them to change their policy.
00:27:19.000We want them to have a policy which allows all viewpoints.
00:27:23.000And we also want to hold them accountable for silencing Gabby because of her viewpoint.
00:27:29.000They need to understand, government officials need to understand there are consequences for violating our most deeply cherished rights, such as the freedom of speech and free exercise of our religious beliefs.
00:27:41.000And then I hope we inspire, I hope Gabby's courage inspires students across the country to wade in, to engage in discussions on important topics and to do it in a way that Charlie did with grace and winsomeness and doing it in a way that encourages people to engage with people across the aisle.
00:28:21.000And I just want to say that, you know, thank you to your parents who raised you, to the community that brought you up and instilled those values in you.
00:29:06.000So what I love about Balance of Nature's whole health system is getting a wide variety of whole food ingredients into my diet, into my routine, and it makes it so easy.
00:29:16.000What sets them apart is you know the ingredients are well sourced.
00:30:57.000And it's one of the ways that just I know how to honor Charlie is to show you the faces and hear the stories directly of the students that are on the front lines doing it.
00:31:07.000And Charlie was always so good about this.
00:31:09.000He was always so good about giving those students all the credit and saying they are the front lines for freedom in this country.
00:31:15.000And they're the tip of the spear and they're doing the hard things.
00:31:17.000And we need to have their back because they're standing up against backward school districts like that one in Charlotte.
00:33:20.000You are a walking, talking disgrace to Somalia.
00:33:23.000You are a walking, talking billboard that will only further our drive and our desire to stop the runaway, unchecked, unfettered migration into this country.
00:35:06.000We've secured it so hard we can't even report on it anymore because nothing is happening there anymore.
00:35:12.000And by the way, I just want to say this holiday season, my prayers are with the brave men and women, DHS and ICE that are leading the mass deportations in places like Minneapolis.
