00:01:27.000 Here we go.
00:01:29.000 Charlie, what you've done is incredible here.
00:01:30.000 Maybe Charlie Kirk is on the college campus.
00:01:32.000 I want you to know we are lucky to have Charlie Kirk.
00:01:36.000 Charlie Kirk's running the White House, folks.
00:01:39.000 I want to thank Charlie.
00:01:40.000 He's an incredible guy.
00:01:41.000 His spirit is love of this country.
00:01:43.000 He's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created, Turning Point USA.
00:01:50.000 We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country.
00:01:58.000 That's why we are here.
00:02:01.000 Brought to you by the Loan Experts I Trust, Andrew and Todd at Sierra Pacific Mortgage at andrewandTodd.com.
00:02:10.000 So there are still some states that have mask mandates right now, not every state, but Illinois is one of them.
00:02:16.000 And in the suburbs of Chicago, see, I got my good Chicago accent too, still.
00:02:22.000 Kids are starting to fight back, and it is really amazing.
00:02:25.000 Now, since many of their parents feel as if they need to wear cloth masks all day long, the students are fighting back themselves.
00:02:32.000 And honestly, God bless them.
00:02:33.000 We are 100% behind these students.
00:02:36.000 Let me say that again.
00:02:37.000 We are 100% behind these students.
00:02:40.000 Why the parents have put up with this nonsense for as long as they have?
00:02:42.000 I know there's a lot of parents that haven't, but the students don't care.
00:02:46.000 Now, a judge in Illinois has struck down the mask mandates.
00:02:50.000 High school students in a Chicago suburb, I know exactly where this is, right near St. Viter and other places.
00:02:55.000 They're just walking out.
00:02:57.000 Walking out of school, they are done.
00:03:01.000 St. Viter High School, as well.
00:03:03.000 St. Viter in Arlington Heights, Illinois, about six minutes from where I grew up.
00:03:07.000 I know a lot of kids that went to St. Viter.
00:03:09.000 Their parents are paying a ton of money in tuition to go to St. Viter.
00:03:13.000 St. Viter is a great school.
00:03:15.000 And St. Viter is actually, here's a little fun fact for you: Ted Nugent went to St. Viter.
00:03:21.000 There you go.
00:03:21.000 So they got that Ted Nugent energy there.
00:03:25.000 We're getting some tape of it, but it's starting to happen all across the country.
00:03:28.000 And if you have stories of students starting to rise up against mask mandates, you guys can email us anytime freedom at charliekirk.com.
00:03:36.000 We also have Turning Point USA chapter leaders who are politely protesting the hypocritical masking of students for young, low-risk students when leaders of their state like Gavin Newsom and Mayor Eric Garcetti have been photographed recently not wearing masks while posing with celebrities at SoFi Stadium.
00:03:56.000 Our Turning Point USA students are beginning to fight back against this, and our high school chapters across the country at Turning Point USA are now pushing back against this.
00:04:05.000 At Laverne, Turning Point USA students, 80 students are segregated into a gym for not wearing masks.
00:04:13.000 And remember that girl in Naperville, Illinois that gave that incredible school board speech?
00:04:19.000 She reached out to us and said, I just want you to know that the lawsuit that stated it was illegal to force kids to wear masks in school just passed.
00:04:26.000 However, my district, along with a few others, have gone against the court ruling, right?
00:04:31.000 Schools think they're above the law and said that we'll need to wear masks.
00:04:34.000 So my friends and I have gone into school without a mask because it's legal, and they put us in a classroom and refused to let us go to class.
00:04:40.000 I just thought I'd let you know so you can go bring attention to it if you want.
00:04:43.000 I'm not trying to bash parents.
00:04:46.000 I'm not.
00:04:47.000 But really, where are the parents and grandparents?
00:04:49.000 Why are you guys putting up with this?
00:04:51.000 Like, why are you still sending your kids to these schools?
00:04:54.000 Why aren't you flooding the principal's office peacefully and say, we're not putting up with this anymore?
00:04:59.000 Like, we pay your salary.
00:05:00.000 It's not going to happen.
00:05:00.000 Stop it.
00:05:01.000 There is no school if there's no students.
00:05:03.000 Let me say that again.
00:05:04.000 There is no school if there's no students.
00:05:06.000 And I'm sure some parents really kind of get thrilled about their kids wearing cloth masks all day long.
00:05:14.000 It is so bad for childhood development.
00:05:18.000 Every single study shows almost zero epidemiological advantage and extraordinary psychological, social, spiritual, and emotional harm.
00:05:31.000 And so if you want to see the great contrast of the rulers versus the people, look no further than Stacey Abrams.
00:05:42.000 Stacey Abrams goes and visits an elementary school.
00:05:46.000 When she visited the elementary school recently, it's one of the most extraordinary pictures.
00:05:51.000 It's so bad, you think it's edited.
00:05:54.000 It really, I mean, I honestly thought this was an edited mockery of a picture.
00:05:58.000 It's so dystopian.
00:05:59.000 It's so extraordinary.
00:06:02.000 So it's Stacey Abrams sitting right in the middle, surrounded by about 25 elementary school kids, all wearing masks perfectly, while Stacey Abrams remains maskless.
00:06:17.000 And Stacey Abrams with this kind of weird, giddy smile, while all 25 children around her remain completely and totally maskless.
00:06:29.000 Now, her campaign has come out and said, it is shameful that our opponents are using a Black History Month reading event for Georgia children as the impetus for a false political attack.
00:06:42.000 And it is pitiful and predictable that our opponents continue to look for opportunities to distract from their failed records when it comes from protecting public health during the pandemic.
00:06:52.000 Stacey Abrams, here's some advice.
00:06:54.000 Stop running for governor.
00:06:55.000 Get some really good lawyers because I've seen some evidence in Dinesh D'Souza's movie that you're going to have some serious criminal explaining to do.
00:07:05.000 Why is it that the mules that were dropping off ballots in Georgia also kept on showing up to your headquarters that you were running?
00:07:12.000 Why is it that they would go to your office first and then go to 10, 20, 30, 40 drop boxes after that?
00:07:18.000 Why is that, Stacey Abrams?
00:07:20.000 Hope you have a good lawyer.
00:07:22.000 Because using cell phone technology, we know that they were going to your office.
00:07:26.000 We know that they were coming to you.
00:07:28.000 Were you the architect of this?
00:07:30.000 Were you Mark Elias' lieutenant on the ground in Georgia to make this all happen?
00:07:35.000 Stacey Abrams, I'd be a lot less worried about Black History Month reading lessons and more worried about whether or not you're going to have to spend some time for not just a felony, but creating a potential criminal conspiracy of ballot trafficking in a battleground state in not just one, but two elections 60 days apart.
00:07:52.000 But then Stacey Abrams actually came out that she told the kids to wear a mask so that when she was around, she felt safer when they were wearing masks.
00:08:05.000 So the children wear masks, but she does not.
00:08:10.000 When you see this picture, it is rage-inducing.
00:08:14.000 I honestly thought the picture wasn't real.
00:08:17.000 I thought it was a manufactured artificial picture.
00:08:21.000 Now, here's the thing.
00:08:22.000 Actually, let me play this.
00:08:23.000 Play cut 22, please.
00:08:25.000 Make a mistake.
00:08:25.000 If my kid was in the classroom, would I be outraged?
00:08:28.000 The answer is definitely not.
00:08:30.000 Stacey Abrams is not trying to harm children.
00:08:33.000 She was not flaunting our regulations purposefully.
00:08:37.000 She took a picture with their mask off, and everyone else had their mask on.
00:08:40.000 So there's not an issue there.
00:08:42.000 But politically, she probably wants the day back because now she's going to lose a week or two having to deal with this issue, which is for the most part a non-issue.
00:08:51.000 Yeah, most part it's a non-issue.
00:08:52.000 While she's maskless and she sits on the floor and the other kids have to remain completely and totally clothed, totally shameful.
00:09:00.000 But students in high school and middle school are starting to push back.
00:09:05.000 There is a legitimate movement that is bubbling up in the Chicago suburbs right now.
00:09:12.000 And if you can hear my voice, please participate in it.
00:09:16.000 There is no school without students.
00:09:19.000 School board members that have continued these mask mandates have failed the children.
00:09:24.000 Parents that have allowed these mask mandates to continue have failed the children.
00:09:28.000 Now, there's some phenomenal parents out there that have been fighting and fighting and fighting in Chicago and other places.
00:09:34.000 But there's way too many parents that have been passive, that have been compliant with this total garbage.
00:09:43.000 And we're starting to see the bubbling up and the reaction in response to that.
00:09:49.000 So if you cannot cancel people through traditional means, such as using the law, then you're going to use corporate means.
00:09:58.000 So James O'Keefe is a great example of this.
00:10:00.000 It's a smaller example than the one that we've used.
00:10:02.000 I shouldn't say smaller, but it's an individual example.
00:10:04.000 They kicked James O'Keefe off of almost every single social media site because he was willing to tell the truth.
00:10:10.000 And they also stormed his apartment using the Federal Bureau of Investigation to try to find a diary.
00:10:17.000 You see, the strategy of cancellation has now broadened outside of just using the law, but also using companies.
00:10:25.000 Now, activists that sit on their computer all day long and try to pressure these companies to do these things, they're usually very well funded by left-wing groups to try and destabilize or destroy any sort of means of survival for conservative or freedom-loving groups.
00:10:48.000 So one of them is GoFundMe.
00:10:52.000 So GoFundMe is supposed to be, if you've never heard of GoFundMe before, it's a website where you can say, okay, I want to raise $10,000 to help me go to college, or I want to raise $15,000 to pay for my surgery, or I want to pay $25,000 to go send this group of kids to Spain or whatever.
00:11:09.000 There's all sorts of different ways to do it.
00:11:11.000 Now, GoFundMe is a place where you can crowdfund and then have the money released once it hits its goal.
00:11:18.000 So there was a GoFundMe that was created to support the Canadian truckers.
00:11:23.000 The Canadian truckers raised over $10 million and they were supposed to release that money.
00:11:32.000 But GoFundMe decided not to do it.
00:11:36.000 GoFundMe decided to seize the money.
00:11:39.000 GoFundMe said they are not going to give the money to the Canadian truckers.
00:11:43.000 So GoFundMe did not even return the money to the donors.
00:11:48.000 Instead, they said they are going to give the money to organizations approved and verified by the Freedom Convoy organizers instead of refunding the donations.
00:12:00.000 The move sparked immediate outcry, including by Ron DeSantis, who said Saturday that the Florida's Attorney General will investigate GoFundMe.
00:12:08.000 You better believe it.
00:12:08.000 That's fraudulent behavior.
00:12:10.000 You can't just raise a bunch of money as a company and do something completely different with it.
00:12:15.000 Senator Ted Cruz said, today I sent a letter to the Federal Trade Commission asking that the FTC open an investigation into GoFundMe into whether they've committed deceptive trade practices.
00:12:26.000 The types of company you use and that you go and you put your money behind matter.
00:12:32.000 So for example, GoFundMe is a woke left-wing company.
00:12:37.000 Never use GoFundMe again.
00:12:40.000 Use give, send, go, or just give the money directly to the people.
00:12:43.000 Never use GoFundMe again.
00:12:45.000 You have been warned, hard stop, do not give them money.
00:12:48.000 Do not support causes there and do not start new causes there.
00:12:52.000 But when you look at what companies you want to use and you want to say, I want to support companies that support good causes, I could tell you one that does.
00:13:00.000 So you look at Turning Point USA.
00:13:02.000 I could tell you Patriot Mobile is fully in the trenches with you.
00:13:06.000 That's why I'm proud to partner with Patriot Mobile, America's only Christian conservative cell phone provider.
00:13:11.000 They offer broad nationwide coverage because they use the same towers as the major carriers.
00:13:15.000 You get the same great service, plus your money is not supporting the left.
00:13:19.000 Patriot Mobile has plans to fit any budget and their 100% U.S.-based customer support team provides exceptional customer service.
00:13:26.000 More importantly, Patriot Mobile shares your values and supports organizations that are fighting for religious freedom, constitutional rights, and sanctity of life.

00:13:37.000 Get a free activation with the offer code Charlie.
00:13:40.000 Veterans and first responders save even more, so make the switch today.
00:13:43.000 Support a company that loves America, loves you, and shares your values.
00:13:46.000 It's patriotmobile.com slash Charlie.
00:13:49.000 That's patriotmobile.com slash Charlie.
00:13:51.000 We use Patriot Mobile.
00:13:52.000 We're switching to Patriot Mobile.
00:13:53.000 So if you look at your cell phone bill, it might be $100, $200, or $300 a month.
00:13:57.000 Do you know what percentage of that is going to go fund BLM?
00:14:00.000 A percentage of that is going to go fund vaccine mandates?
00:14:03.000 Because if you use the big companies, the big uglies, their profits go towards supporting the enemy.
00:14:10.000 Patriot Mobile, any sort of profit that they make goes to support Turning Point USA, goes to support the Charlie Kirk show, goes to support the March for Life.
00:14:18.000 That's what Patriot Mobile is all about.
00:14:20.000 It's to give you affordable service, to save you money, and any of the extra money that they make, the profit, if you will, goes towards supporting good causes.
00:14:29.000 That's why I'm so passionate about the Patriots at Patriot Mobile, so that your money goes towards people you care about.
00:14:34.000 I know the CEO Glenn really well.
00:14:36.000 We partner on a lot of different things together.
00:14:38.000 He's terrific.
00:14:39.000 Go to patriotmobile.com slash Charlie, patriotmobile.com slash Charlie.
00:14:48.000 You've heard me talk about how important it is to have a VPN to protect your online privacy, but choosing a VPN you trust is equally as important.
00:14:54.000 Now, I like to do my own research on my sponsors, and I only recommend brands to my listeners that I believe in.
00:15:00.000 I could say with full confidence that ExpressVPN is the best VPN on the market.
00:15:04.000 Here's why.
00:15:04.000 Number one, ExpressVPN doesn't log your activity online.
00:15:07.000 Lots of cheaper, free VPNs make money by selling your data to advertisers, but ExpressVPN does not do this.
00:15:13.000 They've even developed a technology, trusted server, that makes their VPN servers incapable of storing any data at all.
00:15:20.000 Number two, speed.
00:15:21.000 ExpressVPN now uses Lightway, a new VPN protocol they engineer to make speeds faster than ever.
00:15:27.000 I've tried many VPNs in the past, and they can sometimes slow my connection.
00:15:31.000 But ExpressVPN is always blazing fast and lets me stream videos in HD quality with zero buffering.
00:15:36.000 The last thing that really sets ExpressVPN apart is how easy it is to use.
00:15:41.000 You don't need any technical skills to help get it set up.
00:15:43.000 Just fire up the app, tap one button to connect.
00:15:45.000 That's it.
00:15:46.000 And it's not just me that's saying this.
00:15:48.000 Business Insider, The Verge, and many other tech journals rate ExpressVPN the number one VPN in the world.
00:15:53.000 So protect yourself with the VPN that I trust and use.
00:15:56.000 Use link expressvpn.com/slash Charlie today and get an extra free month's free on a one-year package.
00:16:01.000 That expressvpn.com/slash Charlie, expressvpn.com/slash Charlie to learn more.
00:16:09.000 With us right now for a first-hand report from our friends to the north from Canada, Ezra Levant from the wonderful Rebel News.
00:16:15.000 They do a great job.
00:16:16.000 Ezra, welcome to the Charlie Kirk Show.
00:16:19.000 Thanks very much for having me.
00:16:20.000 Appreciate it.
00:16:21.000 I've been a big fan of yours.
00:16:22.000 You do a wonderful job covering all the insanity that's happening in Canada.
00:16:27.000 What's the latest?
00:16:28.000 I'm being told that there are police being deployed to try to break up the truckers.
00:16:31.000 What's going on in the ground in Ottawa?
00:16:34.000 Well, starting just before midnight last night, hundreds of riot police, many with large weapons in their hands, started going around Ottawa seizing diesel fuel, little jerry cans of diesel fuel.
00:16:49.000 They made arrests and handed out hundreds of tickets too.
00:16:52.000 Now, diesel fuel is not illegal.
00:16:55.000 In fact, it is perfectly legal.
00:16:57.000 And in Ottawa, it's very cold.
00:16:59.000 So these truckers who are sleeping in their cabs of their trucks, they need the diesel fuel to run their trucks to stay warm, to stay alive, really.
00:17:07.000 So without a court order, without a search warrant, these police at gunpoint literally started collecting hundreds of jerry cans to freeze out or even starve out the protesters.
00:17:21.000 I say again, there has been no court order.
00:17:24.000 There is no lawsuit.
00:17:25.000 There is no sentence.
00:17:27.000 This is not an unlawful protest.
00:17:31.000 There may be the odd parking violation.
00:17:33.000 Fine.
00:17:33.000 So issue a ticket.
00:17:35.000 If there's some honking of horns, if there's a not noise bylaw, issue a ticket.
00:17:40.000 But to seize gasoline, diesel fuel, is just what is that other than theft?
00:17:46.000 I'm sorry.
00:17:47.000 If the police force takes something without color of right, that's theft.
00:17:51.000 But that's life under an authoritarian regime.
00:17:55.000 And I hate to say it because I love Canada, born and raised here, but we're becoming more and more like a banana republic under the hands of Justin Trudeau.
00:18:03.000 And you can see that when they seized the power for their lockdowns, it wasn't for public health.
00:18:09.000 It was just so they could run this country in an authoritarian manner.
00:18:13.000 It's very troubling.
00:18:15.000 Yeah, I mean, I love Canada too.
00:18:16.000 It's a great place, but it seems it's really slipping in many regards.
00:18:20.000 So walk us through kind of Canadian kind of constitutional structure because, I mean, do they have like emergency use rights?
00:18:29.000 They could do this.
00:18:29.000 I mean, I know in America, if they did that, there would be a very specific way that there could be a check and balance.
00:18:35.000 It just wouldn't be allowed.
00:18:37.000 In Canada, what's the process to try to rectify that?
00:18:41.000 Well, you mentioned checks and balances.
00:18:44.000 In the United States, you have a number of them.
00:18:46.000 Your Supreme Court has stopped some of the worst lockdown rules.
00:18:50.000 You have 50 different states which have different approaches.
00:18:54.000 You've got the Ron DeSantis approach on the Liberty end of the spectrum, and you have the New York approach on the other end, let's say.
00:19:01.000 But in Canada, we have 10 provinces that's our analog to your states.
00:19:05.000 Unfortunately, all 10 provinces are lockdown provinces.
00:19:10.000 And both at the federal government and the provincial level, every governing party and every opposition party is in favor of the lockdowns.
00:19:19.000 So there's no political debate.
00:19:21.000 Parliament hasn't sat much, and most of these rules have been issued by public health doctors who were not elected.
00:19:28.000 And they are suddenly issuing decrees.
00:19:31.000 The media party, as I call it, is another check and balance that has failed.
00:19:36.000 In Canada, more than 99% of the media are directly subsidized by Trudeau's bailouts.
00:19:42.000 We're one of the few media companies that's not.
00:19:44.000 Our courts have not issued a single substantive ruling against any forms of the lockdown.
00:19:51.000 Our academia has been silent or cheering on the lockdowns.
00:19:55.000 Colleges of physicians and surgeons have suspended doctors who've dared to speak out or issue medical exemptions.
00:20:02.000 Police forces are running political errands.
00:20:05.000 Like, can you ever imagine police going around grabbing jerry cans of diesel fuel, enforcing some public health order?
00:20:13.000 It's just absurd.
00:20:14.000 So, every single knot in the net, like you can, a net still works if one or two knots breaks.
00:20:20.000 It'll still catch fish.
00:20:22.000 But if every single knot in the net breaks at the same time, you have a total system failure.
00:20:28.000 Every single node in our Canadian establishment has failed simultaneously.
00:20:35.000 And that's why we're slipping into that Venezuela-style form of government that Justin Trudeau has explicitly praised.
00:20:42.000 I think you know that he's always been a fan of Castro, that he said communist China is the country he quote most admires because of its basic dictatorship.
00:20:52.000 He said those words.
00:20:53.000 I think that we almost need some outside help.
00:20:56.000 I'm not talking about an invasion, of course, but maybe I'm so grateful to be on your show.
00:21:01.000 We need our friends and allies around the world to shine a light of scrutiny.
00:21:05.000 Normally, Canada is a happy, boring place, and we sort of like it that way.
00:21:10.000 But we're not so happy these days, and we're not that boring.
00:21:13.000 There's a real battle on for freedom, and I'm grateful for you shining a light on it.
00:21:18.000 Yeah, I mean, look, this is something that Castro would do.
00:21:21.000 It seems like there's a lot, there's more than one way of similarities in this case with Trudeau and Castro.
00:21:27.000 We've danced around that topic for quite some time.
00:21:30.000 So, talk to me about kind of Canadians in general and their view of Trudeau.
00:21:36.000 I mean, is he still popular?
00:21:37.000 Is he still?
00:21:39.000 I mean, it doesn't seem that way, but he calls it a fringe minority.
00:21:42.000 Is that true?
00:21:44.000 Well, it's funny you say that.
00:21:46.000 We have a multi-party parliamentary system.
00:21:49.000 So, Trudeau won the last election with only 32% of the vote.
00:21:53.000 So, it's quite rich for him to say that anyone who criticizes him is a fringe majority when 68% of Canadians who voted didn't vote for him at all.
00:22:04.000 I should say that the latest polls show that the truckers, 32% of Canadians, say they see themselves in the truckers.
00:22:13.000 So, if the truckers were a political party, they would immediately be at the top of the polls in Canada.
00:22:20.000 So, that's a bit of a political earthquake.
00:22:22.000 These truckers, by the way, they weren't organized by any political party.
00:22:26.000 There's no super PAC.
00:22:27.000 They're really not even organized.
00:22:29.000 It's sort of an organic movement.
00:22:31.000 People said, I'll join, I'll join.
00:22:34.000 And over the course of time, probably 100,000 trucks joined.
00:22:39.000 Some came and went, some went to different parts of the country.
00:22:42.000 And along the roads, maybe a million Canadians went out to see them, to wave at them, to cheer them on.
00:22:49.000 So much so that the Canadian province of Nova Scotia passed a health order.
00:22:53.000 Again, no debate in a legislature, just issued an executive order that it is illegal to stand by the road to quote support the trucker convoy.
00:23:07.000 And the words support and trucker convoy are specifically named.
00:23:10.000 So you can go to the side of the road to oppose the trucker convoy.
00:23:15.000 You can go to the side of the road to oppose or support any other thing you want.
00:23:22.000 But the government of Nova Scotia specifically made it illegal to support this trucker convoy.
00:23:28.000 That's clearly unconstitutional.
00:23:30.000 It's clearly illegal.
00:23:31.000 But who's going to stop them?
00:23:33.000 I mean, it's a bit of a madness here.
00:23:35.000 Yeah, it is.
00:23:36.000 And this is a really important point.
00:23:38.000 And, you know, Canadians have a different culture than Americans, but I've always said the Constitutional Republic system is the gold standard.
00:23:49.000 And, you know, in Canada, you haven't really had these kind of tensions of speech.
00:23:54.000 Recently, Jordan Peterson tried to warn against a lot of this a couple of years ago, to his great credit.
00:23:59.000 But in America, the idea that they would restrain you from going to a protest, we're starting to see a little bit of that here and there, but courts just wouldn't allow that to happen.
00:24:09.000 And don't, again, please excuse my lack of understanding here, but from what I understand, Canada does not have the same sort of robust First Amendment protections like we do in America.
00:24:18.000 It's just there isn't a constitutional system that recognizes natural rights and separation of powers and an independent judiciary and consent to the governed.
00:24:28.000 These are all characteristics that make our constitution work and allow our civilization to succeed.
00:24:34.000 Talk about how, since you don't have that, it's just basically Trudeau's candidate.
00:24:38.000 He does whatever he wants.
00:24:40.000 We do have a constitution and we have what's called the Charter of Rights.
00:24:44.000 Ironically, it was enshrined by Trudeau's father, Pierre Trudeau, who was prime minister in the 70s and early 80s.
00:24:53.000 He was a big fan of Castro, vacationed with him all the time.
00:24:56.000 He went to the Soviet Union, told his children Siberia is the future.
00:25:00.000 So Justin Trudeau comes from his love of authoritarians, honestly.
00:25:04.000 He inherited from his dad.
00:25:06.000 But the thing about our Charter of Rights, which is different from your American Bill of Rights, is your First Amendment is for free speech.
00:25:13.000 Your Second Amendment is the firearms.
00:25:15.000 I won't try and teach you about your laws, but what's our first section of our Constitution?
00:25:21.000 Is it free speech?
00:25:22.000 Is it the right to own firearms?
00:25:24.000 No.
00:25:25.000 Section one of our Charter of Rights is the asterisk.
00:25:31.000 It's the footnote.
00:25:32.000 It's the caveat.
00:25:33.000 It's the exception.
00:25:34.000 Section one says that every right that is about to be listed can be infringed.
00:25:42.000 Wow.
00:25:43.000 So section two is where we get into the good stuff.
00:25:46.000 Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of association, freedom of assembly.
00:25:49.000 That's all in our Constitution.
00:25:51.000 But it starts with point two.
00:25:53.000 Point one is a giant loophole that says if the government thinks it's a pressing and substantial reason to limit it that's rationally connected to some purpose, they can go ahead and violate your rights.
00:26:08.000 So before they even list your rights in section two, section one of our charter of rights says, well, maybe you can have them and maybe you can't.
00:26:17.000 It's almost like what follows after section one doesn't count.
00:26:21.000 It's almost like there's a pandemic clause in our constitution.
00:26:27.000 Whenever the government calls in an emergency, they can suspend our rights.
00:26:30.000 I don't want to oversimplify things, but I say again, in two years, not a single court case brought anywhere in Canada has had a substantive victory stopping the lockdowns.
00:26:42.000 And here's a quick example of how extreme the lockdowns are.
00:26:45.000 The province of Quebec, wonderful place, eight and a half million people, very large province.
00:26:51.000 They had curfews from 10 p.m. till 5 a.m., as if it was a province of children.
00:26:57.000 You could not go out after 10 p.m.
00:26:59.000 You'd be arrested.
00:27:00.000 Healthy people, vaccinated people even.
00:27:03.000 You couldn't go out after 10.
00:27:05.000 What free people accepts that?
00:27:09.000 That is completely lawful in Canada.
00:27:12.000 I didn't even think Cuba had those curfews.
00:27:15.000 They probably didn't.
00:27:17.000 I want to explore with you the Canadian temperament and the psychology of a Canadian that puts up with this.
00:27:24.000 Whether you think there's anything to that, because there is this kind of stereotype, a positive stereotype that Canadians are nice and overly magnanimous and peace-seeking.
00:27:35.000 And you've heard all of it, right?
00:27:36.000 The friendly Canadian, and whether or not that kind of plays into the naivete of tyranny that allows it all of a sudden for a smug teenager-looking Fidel Castro lookalike to govern from his lake house and keep the nice people at home because they don't quite have the muscle memory to fight against tyranny.
00:27:56.000 Whereas we, as Americans, kind of in our blood, we are good at it.
00:28:00.000 Not all of us, by the way, but there's plenty of us that don't put up with this nonsense.
00:28:04.000 And I just want to reiterate for our American listeners: this is the difference between having an American Constitution and a Canadian Constitution.
00:28:11.000 It's not an insult to Canada, it's just a big difference.
00:28:15.000 And God bless our founding fathers so long ago that saw these sort of moves that were going to happen and prevented against it.
00:28:24.000 Look, with all the different makes and models of cars, it can be very confusing.
00:28:28.000 I'm not a car guy.
00:28:28.000 I'm not.
00:28:29.000 And I get ripped off.
00:28:30.000 Okay.
00:28:31.000 If I go to a traditional storefront, it's a disaster.
00:28:34.000 It really is.
00:28:35.000 You know, these people that know a lot about cars, they're selling me all sorts of weird and wacky things.
00:28:39.000 They're like, you need a flagpole and you need a Wilson wire and you need a Hamilton bar and all this different sorts of stuff.
00:28:47.000 Never heard of it.
00:28:48.000 Okay, sure.
00:28:48.000 Here's the credit card.
00:28:49.000 Next thing you know, it's thousands of dollars later and I've been ripped off.
00:28:53.000 Well, look, you have computers, so you can access rockauto.com at home and in your pocket.
00:28:57.000 So you should repair and maintain your cars.
00:28:59.000 It's a way to save money and you can use them for other important things like mortgages and food.
00:29:04.000 So go to rockauto.com.
00:29:05.000 That's rockauto.com.
00:29:07.000 Their prices are reliably low at rockauto.com always offers the lowest prices possible rather than changing prices based on what the market will bear like airlines do.
00:29:15.000 Rockauto.com is a family business serving auto parts customers online for 20 years.
00:29:21.000 Go to rockauto.com to shop for auto and body parts from hundreds of manufacturers.
00:29:25.000 Best of all, prices at rockauto.com are reliably low.
00:29:28.000 Go to rockauto.com right now to see all the parts available for your car or truck.
00:29:32.000 We're at Charlie Kirk and the How Did You Hear About Us?
00:29:35.000 So they know that we sent you.
00:29:37.000 Amazing selection, reliably low prices, all the parts your car will ever need, rockauto.com.
00:29:44.000 I want to explore with you.
00:29:45.000 Can you explain to me whether or not the Canadian temperament has anything to do with this?
00:29:50.000 Kind of the agreeable, nice, magnanimous people that all of a sudden can be quickly transitioned into subservient serfs under an authoritarian government.
00:30:00.000 It's true.
00:30:01.000 I mean, we've never had a civil war.
00:30:03.000 We've never had a revolution.
00:30:05.000 We've had a very lucky existence.
00:30:08.000 And being next to America, you guys do the hard work for us.
00:30:11.000 I mean, frankly, I think we probably would have been invaded during the Cold War were it not for NORAD.
00:30:17.000 So we're very lucky.
00:30:18.000 Remember, Canada was founded in part by what were called United Empire loyalists.
00:30:23.000 Those who are the losing side of the U.S. Revolution, they just came north.
00:30:26.000 So we were, by definition, sort of agreeable, more passive, less rambunctious.
00:30:33.000 And that suited us fine, I guess.
00:30:35.000 Trouble is, you need your government to have a light touch.
00:30:39.000 We haven't had a light touch over the last two years.
00:30:41.000 And too many Canadians have obediently worn masks, bent the knee, accepted curfews.
00:30:48.000 And we haven't had that same check and balance system.
00:30:51.000 Like I say, we don't have a Ron DeSantis up here.
00:30:53.000 We don't have any difference between our conservative and liberal parties here.
00:30:58.000 I think, though, that these truckers have shown that there is a deeper part of Canada that wants to be free, that remembers how we were before, perhaps.
00:31:08.000 And these truckers have been a physical manifestation of that.
00:31:11.000 And they're not for moving.
00:31:13.000 They're not wobbly.
00:31:14.000 They're very blue-collar.
00:31:16.000 They're plain spoken.
00:31:18.000 They're ethnically diverse.
00:31:20.000 And people, like I say, 32% of Canadians see themselves in the truckers.
00:31:24.000 It's the first resistance, the first opposition in two years.
00:31:28.000 It's really incredible.
00:31:30.000 There's so many points I want to explore with you in that regard.
00:31:33.000 And do you see a generational divide?
00:31:35.000 Do you see an urban rural divide?
00:31:37.000 Do you see that a lot of the kind of mandate Trudeau coalition is centered to Ottawa and Toronto and Montreal and Vancouver?
00:31:45.000 Is that sort of divide something you see?
00:31:46.000 And finally, talk about states' rights or province rights.
00:31:50.000 Are the provinces able to make their own decisions?
00:31:54.000 In Canada, provinces have jurisdiction over health care, but the government sort of buys the federal government sort of buys its way in.
00:32:01.000 So most of the lockdowns have happened at the hands of provincial leaders.
00:32:05.000 But like I say, they're all in lockstep.
00:32:08.000 In terms of who's with these trucker protests, I think truckers are individualist.
00:32:12.000 I think in the rural parts, people are more conservative.
00:32:15.000 But what's been so heartening is many truckers are new Canadians.
00:32:18.000 They happen to be Sikh or indigenous, also.
00:32:21.000 That's, I guess, the opposite of a new Canadian.
00:32:23.000 So they're visible minorities.
00:32:25.000 So when Trudeau denounces them as racist and sexist, it doesn't really stick because there's many Sikh truckers wearing their Sikh turbans.
00:32:33.000 And for Trudeau to call them white nationalists, as he has, it's just laughable.
00:32:38.000 Like it might work against a middle-aged white male conservative politician, but when a young Sikh trucker is called racist, he sort of laughs.
00:32:46.000 A lot of women are against vaccine mandates.
00:32:48.000 I mean, remember what these trucker protests is about.
00:32:51.000 Trudeau said you cannot be a trucker crossing the border without a vaccine.
00:32:56.000 Truckers are one of the most isolated jobs there is.
00:33:00.000 I mean, you're in your cab by yourself for days on end.
00:33:03.000 You probably sleep in your cab.
00:33:05.000 So to force them to get vax, the truckers who took care of the rest of us for two years, it wasn't about public health.
00:33:11.000 It was about submission and compliance and obedience.
00:33:14.000 And I think it was the final straw for people.
00:33:17.000 People realize that it's not really, people are tired of it in Canada.
00:33:20.000 We have been too obedient for too long.
00:33:23.000 Even passive, friendly, smiling Canadians have their limit.
00:33:28.000 And I think it's a political earthquake here, and we haven't yet seen all of the results that will flow from it.
00:33:34.000 Trudeau is trying his Castro-like crackdown.
00:33:38.000 Thank God no one's been shot yet.
00:33:40.000 Although there was someone who rammed a trucker protest if it were the other way around, if a trucker had rammed someone, that would be world news.
00:33:49.000 But it was a Trudeau supporting leftist who rammed four truckers.
00:33:55.000 And so that's being buried.
00:33:56.000 So it's been a very peaceful Canadian style protest, but there is the flame of freedom burning.
00:34:02.000 I hear the word freedom being chanted more in the last two weeks than in my entire life.
00:34:06.000 I see people of all racial and religious backgrounds chanting freedom.
00:34:10.000 It's actually been a moment of tremendous unity.
00:34:12.000 I've never been this optimistic about the Canadian spirit.
00:34:15.000 Now, whether or not that's enough to break the government domination is another question, but I think Canada has rediscovered the phrase to true north, strong and free.
00:34:25.000 That's wonderful and beautiful.
