00:00:00.000 Hey everybody, critical race theory is spreading throughout the country.
00:00:03.000 We've done many episodes about it.
00:00:05.000 I am joined in this episode by Isabel Brown with her new book.
00:00:10.000 We talk about what it's like to be on a college campus.
00:00:12.000 We also talk about Loudoun County schools.
00:00:14.000 You will not believe this story.
00:00:16.000 And we give a blueprint on how parents can fight back against this nonsense in their schools.

00:00:50.000 Here we go.
00:00:52.000 Charlie, what you've done is incredible here.
00:00:54.000 Maybe Charlie Kirk is on the college campuses.
00:00:56.000 I want you to know we are lucky to have Charlie Kirk.
00:01:00.000 Charlie Kirk's running the White House, folks.
00:01:03.000 I want to thank Charlie.
00:01:04.000 He's an incredible guy.
00:01:05.000 His spirit, his love of this country, he's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created, Turning Point USA.
00:01:13.000 We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country.
00:01:22.000 That's why we are here.
00:01:26.000 With the ever-increasing numbers of makes like Fiat, Kia, and models Pacifica X-T5, it is now impossible to stock all the parts you need in a traditional chain storefront.
00:01:36.000 Why endure all the questioning that can be intimidating around your car and wait while the counterman orders the parts on his computer, choosing the only brand his warehouse happens to carry?
00:01:46.000 You have computers with access to rockauto.com at home and in your pocket.
00:01:52.000 One reason to repair and maintain your cars is to save money that then you can use for other important things like the mortgage or food.
00:01:59.000 Why would you choose to spend 30, 50 or 100% more for the exact same auto parts?
00:02:03.000 So go to rockauto.com.
00:02:05.000 They are a family business serving auto parts customers online for 20 years.
00:02:09.000 Go to rockauto.com to shop for auto and body parts from hundreds of manufacturers.
00:02:13.000 They have everything from engine control modules to brake parts to tail lamps, mortar oil, and even new carpet.
00:02:19.000 Whether it's your classic or daily driver, get everything you need in just a few clicks.
00:02:24.000 The rockauto.com catalog is unique and remarkably easy to navigate.
00:02:28.000 Quickly see all the parts available for your vehicle and choose the brands, specifications, and prices you prefer.
00:02:35.000 Go to rockauto.com right now and see all the parts available for your car or truck.
00:02:39.000 Write Charlie Kirk in there.
00:02:40.000 How did you hear about us section?
00:02:42.000 Amazing selection.
00:02:43.000 Reliably low prices.
00:02:44.000 All the parts your car will ever need.
00:02:46.000 Rockauto.com.
00:02:50.000 I want to get to this story here out of Loudoun County, Virginia.
00:02:55.000 It is a long story and a very important one.
00:02:59.000 We've been focusing a lot on critical race theory.
00:03:02.000 And of course, we'll get to politics, but elections are so far out that these fights are exactly what will determine the type of country we're going to live in in five or ten years.
00:03:12.000 And they do not get enough coverage by the activist press.
00:03:15.000 I mean, they're there every once in a while.
00:03:18.000 Of course, the New York Times has a groundbreaking story on the front page of the New York Times that says, all we have to do to open schools is open windows.
00:03:26.000 I kid you not.
00:03:27.000 The first word, the highest word on the New York Times, key to safe classrooms, open the windows.
00:03:33.000 Oh, so we could have prevented all the suicides, mental health issues, alcoholism, displacement, spring sports, summer sports, prom commencement, social gatherings, all of that if we just opened windows.
00:03:43.000 Exactly what we said we should have done.
00:03:46.000 Even though children have been proven not to be mass spreaders of the Chinese coronavirus, they are spreaders of the flu, completely different.
00:03:53.000 Schools are super spreaders for the flu.
00:03:55.000 For whatever reason, they are not super spreaders of the Chinese coronavirus.
00:03:58.000 Because someone created that way in the laboratory.
00:04:01.000 But the closure of schools will go down as one of the most immoral, evil decisions, mistakes ever made in American history, largely because of Democrat politicians, weak Republicans, and corrupt teacher unions, the National Education Association, the American Federation of Teachers.
00:04:20.000 However, I guess the only positive that I can say about all of these schools being closed is that parents finally had an opportunity to see what their children were learning.
00:04:32.000 Now, let me be very clear.
00:04:34.000 It should not have taken lockdowns or children opening their laptops at home for their parents to see what they are learning.
00:04:42.000 Parents should be intimately involved in what your children are learning, what information they are consuming.
00:04:49.000 However, that is a positive.
00:04:51.000 And we have received thousands of emails from people at freedom at charliekirk.com of parents that say, I had no idea the type of ideas that my school was teaching my children.
00:05:03.000 So maybe that will be a positive of all these lockdowns because all we had to do was open windows, according to the New York Times.
00:05:10.000 But this story out of Loudoun County, Virginia, is stunning.
00:05:15.000 It's telling.
00:05:16.000 It's instructive in more ways than one.
00:05:19.000 So Loudoun County is right near Washington, D.C.
00:05:22.000 It is one of the wealthiest counties in America.
00:05:25.000 In fact, the wealthiest counties in America are all around Washington, D.C. Washington, D.C. creates nothing of value.
00:05:32.000 They create rules, laws, regulation, and barriers for you and for entrepreneurs, for small business owners, and for families to be able to succeed.
00:05:43.000 So Loudoun County used to be a Republican county 20 or 30 years ago.
00:05:48.000 It is now a deep blue county.
00:05:50.000 It is a ruling class county.
00:05:51.000 It's filled with lobbyists, lawyers, crony deal makers, congressional hill staffers.
00:05:58.000 Loudoun County is the who's who of the people that are running our Republic into the ground.
00:06:03.000 But even in Loudoun County, there are parents that are pushing back against the bigoted critical race theory.
00:06:11.000 I'm working my way through my friend's book, Cynical Theories by James Lindsay and Helen Pluckrose.
00:06:17.000 I highly recommend it.
00:06:19.000 It is a thorough examination of critical race theory.
00:06:22.000 And every parent in the country, please listen to what I'm saying carefully.
00:06:26.000 You must be intimately aware about the ideology, the philosophy, the ideas behind critical race theory, because your child will come in contact with those ideas, maybe on TikTok, maybe on Snapchat.
00:06:40.000 Well, your kids shouldn't have a smartphone until they're 18.
00:06:42.000 That's a different topic for a different time.
00:06:44.000 Maybe in the classroom, maybe from their friends, critical race theory has taken over our entire country.
00:06:51.000 However, I am seeing more and more parents step up, speak out, start to get aware, and that's a positive thing.
00:06:58.000 And I want to say kudos to you.
00:07:00.000 We need more of it.
00:07:02.000 There was a whole Barry Weiss article that we went through last week shows that parents have an increasing concern over this.
00:07:10.000 But what if I told you that in Loudoun County, Virginia, teachers that are funded and paid by parents and their property tax dollars are compiling hit lists of parents who dare question critical race theory.
00:07:35.000 And they have plotted a war on them.
00:07:38.000 And in fact, the teachers go as far to say, how do we hack their computers, infiltrate, shut down their websites, expose these people publicly, the teachers are saying in Loudoun County, Virginia, I'm reading from the DailyWire.com.
00:07:57.000 Members of a 624-member private Facebook group named parents and plotted fundraising and other offline work.
00:08:10.000 They were doxing and targeting parents that asked questions about critical race theory, asking, is this really the best way our children should be learning about race?
00:08:21.000 Where does this come from?
00:08:23.000 Why didn't I learn this when I was younger?
00:08:25.000 Who is Herbert Marcuse?
00:08:26.000 Very simple questions.
00:08:28.000 But the teacher said, no, you're a racist and we will expose you.
00:08:32.000 Now, first of all, Loudoun County completely deserves this.
00:08:36.000 And I don't say that lightly.
00:08:38.000 Loudoun County last year paid half a million dollars to a racial consulting company.
00:08:48.000 Half a million dollars.
00:08:50.000 Andrew Gordon, you and I should start a new company where all we do is go around the country and consult people on racial consulting.
00:08:58.000 We can make half a million dollars a pop per school district.
00:09:01.000 He says he's all in.
00:09:03.000 It is the new gold rush.
00:09:05.000 You see, the new gold rush is all you have to do is go around and charge these affluent school districts half a million dollars a pop.
00:09:11.000 You basically have no overhead.
00:09:13.000 You come in with a bunch of academics and teach everyone critical race theory, half a million bucks a pop.
00:09:19.000 You do a couple of those, you're making real money.
00:09:22.000 Forget the Permian Basin, the Balkan shale, the Marcellus shale, oil and natural gas, fracking, gold rush.
00:09:29.000 No, it is 1849 all over again.
00:09:32.000 All you have to go and do is go to the Beverly Hills of the world, Loudoun County, La Jolla, Highland Park, Texas, Winnetka, Illinois, Brookfield, Wisconsin, Palm Beach, Florida, and go to a bunch of parents and take their taxpayer dollars at them realizing it, charge half a million dollars for a couple day seminar.
00:09:52.000 That is what the real business model is based on.
00:09:55.000 I kid you not, half a million dollars that Loudoun County paid in one year for a equity in the center training program that promoted a sense of injustice and urgency around how racist America is.
00:10:12.000 Loudoun County then proposed, then withdrew a policy that would ban teachers from disagreeing with the school's racial philosophies.
00:10:19.000 It's written a little strange.
00:10:21.000 What they're really saying is they proposed a policy that would allow disagreement.
00:10:25.000 That's what they're trying to say.
00:10:26.000 So basically, teachers are not allowed to disagree with it.
00:10:28.000 It's kind of a double negative, so you have to deconstruct the sentence a little bit.
00:10:32.000 So the school board created an equity committee.
00:10:36.000 Loudoun County, an equity committee, paid for by your taxpayer dollars.
00:10:40.000 So this is a beast that they created.
00:10:42.000 Louden County and the ruling class parents that hated Donald Trump more than anything else that are now complaining that their children are learning critical race theory.
00:10:51.000 I hate to say they deserve it, but they deserve it.
00:10:52.000 God bless them for speaking out.
00:10:54.000 But you guys were silent when you created this racial, bigoted monster over the last couple of years.
00:11:00.000 But it gets worse.
00:11:02.000 It's way worse.
00:11:05.000 These teachers are now listing them first name, last name, and their location, their addresses, their employers, their spouses' names, and their kids.
00:11:16.000 These are teachers that are listing parents in their local community that are teaching their children go after them in a Facebook group.
00:11:25.000 Now, the local district attorney or sheriff's criminal investigation is looking into this, but it's a county prosecutor that won, thanks to $845,000 in cash from George Soros.
00:11:42.000 So I don't expect any sort of criminal investigation to come anytime soon.
00:11:47.000 These are teachers that are targeting you, parents and children, for asking questions.
00:11:53.000 This story is critical.
00:11:55.000 In Loudoun County, Virginia, which is where the ruling class lives, the actual ruling class.
00:12:02.000 Congressional staffers, White House staffers, lobbyists, corporate crony insiders, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, they all live in Loudoun County.
00:12:12.000 And they've decided to go try and become Democrats because it will benefit their own corporate financial interests.
00:12:18.000 And so it used to be a Republican county.
00:12:20.000 It's turned into basically a representation of the kingdom of Washington, D.C.
00:12:26.000 Now, one of my very good friends from Chicago just messaged me, says, Charlie, you're hitting such important topics today.
00:12:31.000 I feel like I need antidepressants because you're being so truthful and honest.
00:12:35.000 Believe it or not, this story is a positive story.
00:12:39.000 It's positive in the sense that parents are finally starting to draw lines in the sand and they're going to say, you're not going to teach my child critical race theory garbage anymore.
00:12:49.000 Now, it's really interesting because now that critical race theory has hit home literally in the whitest, most elitist, upper middle class communities in America.
00:13:02.000 Now it's considered to be a threat.
00:13:04.000 You see, when critical race theory was being taught in some far-off land, college or university away from the 14, 15, 16, or 17-year-old sanctuaries of the ruling class children, you see, the New York Times reading, Washington Post consuming lobbyist ruling class in Loudoun County, Virginia said, oh, yes, let me go send my $500 contribution to BLM Incorporated.
00:13:29.000 I'll get my yard sign, my bumper sticker, and my end racism starter kit.
00:13:33.000 I'm such a good person.
00:13:35.000 In fact, I encourage you, if you go drive through Highland Park, Texas, which I know we're also on a Dallas radio station as well, if you go drive through even Scottsdale to a lesser extent, not exactly as bad, and you go see these big, massive signs in people's yards, end racism, Black Lives Matter.
00:13:54.000 You know what it really says?
00:13:55.000 I'm a great person.
00:13:56.000 Here's my proof.
00:13:57.000 That's what they're saying.
00:13:58.000 Look at how good of a person I am.
00:14:01.000 And so now that those people that have those massive billboards in their yard, those bumper stickers, now that their children are being taught at age 15, you know, little Johnny, we know that your father's a lobbyist for some corrupt company or your mom is a congressional staffer for Diane Feinstein.
00:14:21.000 But did you know that because you're white, you're actually a racist?
00:14:25.000 So little Johnny comes home and tells his parents this and they lose it.
00:14:31.000 And then they start to push back.
00:14:32.000 And what do the teachers do in response in Loudoun County, Virginia?
00:14:36.000 They target the parents.
00:14:39.000 They have targeted them.
00:14:41.000 And in fact, they have even tried to hire hackers to go after these parents.
00:14:46.000 I kid you not.
00:14:47.000 This is being criminally investigated by a Soros-funded county prosecutor.
00:14:51.000 So don't get too excited about this.
00:14:53.000 Nothing's going to happen.
00:14:54.000 But Loudoun school system, this is a monster of their own creation.
00:14:59.000 As we mentioned, they paid half a million dollars to do this.
00:15:03.000 And this is not just Loudoun County.
00:15:04.000 This is happening in Naperville School Districts 203.
00:15:07.000 In Texas, they're trying to pass this through their educational standards curriculum.
00:15:12.000 This will impact every single vertical of culture imaginable.
00:15:16.000 But what's the positive is finally parents are waking up.
00:15:19.000 I will offer grace and forgiveness for all the BLM Incorporated donations, for all the bumper stickers, for all the votes that went the wrong way, for Joe Biden, please save us while we're wearing three masks.
00:15:30.000 I'll offer grace and forgiveness for all of that.
00:15:33.000 Now's the time, regardless of political affiliation, for us to stand up against the woke industrial complex.
00:15:40.000 And for the teachers that are targeting parents, I hope that's a wake-up call for a lot of people that are listening this.
00:15:46.000 These are employees of the parents, literally.
00:15:49.000 They are paying them with their tax dollars, and the teachers are privately organizing saying, let's go find these parents.
00:15:56.000 In fact, and I say, quote, an educator in a system of oppression is either a revolutionary or an oppressor, according to the Loudon school system.
00:16:07.000 Now is the time for the people that are funding this mess, parents, to rise up in record numbers and remove the cancerous rot that is critical race theory from our schools.

00:17:14.000 We are here with a familiar face, Isabelle Brown.
00:17:17.000 Isabelle, welcome back.
00:17:18.000 Thanks, Charlie.
00:17:19.000 I'm excited to be back.
00:17:20.000 From Turning Point USA, Isabelle helped me tremendously when I was fighting something for two weeks.
00:17:27.000 I said, Isabelle, I need someone to accompany me.
00:17:29.000 And she was terrific.
00:17:30.000 That was right in January.
00:17:31.000 That was early January.
00:17:32.000 In fact, you were there during all the January 6th nonsense on set with us.
00:17:37.000 So you have a new book called Front Lines by Isabel Brown.
00:17:41.000 And you also work for us at Turning Point USA.
00:17:43.000 Let's start with your book.
00:17:44.000 Tell us what the big argument you're making in the book is, your experience and your story behind it.
00:17:49.000 Well, thanks so much for bringing that up.
00:17:51.000 And it's just crazy that this book is something we can actually hold now.
00:17:54.000 I've been working on this for so long.
00:17:56.000 And as an author, you are obviously able to relate to that quite a bit.
00:17:59.000 It's a long process, but it's very cool that it's finally here.
00:18:02.000 I wrote this book starting towards the end of my college experience at Colorado State when I was a student activist for us at Turning Point USA.
00:18:09.000 And I really discovered firsthand as a student just how much our college campuses have become the front lines of this culture war that you and I talk a lot about and what we highlight here at Turning Point USA.
00:18:20.000 But as a pre-med biomedical sciences student, I never expected to receive so much hate as an outspoken conservative and really experience the assaults on objective truth, even in the scientific field in academia.
00:18:32.000 So, I mean, I've talked a lot about this on your program before, but I was taught that, you know, there's two sets of chromosomes, but gender is actually a social construct.
00:18:39.000 Gender is fluid.
00:18:40.000 Exactly.
00:18:41.000 Things like masks don't work, but then they do work for COVID-19 and my graduate school program and lots of flip-flopping on what you would expect to be objective truth in this pursuit of that.
00:18:51.000 But now even science is dictated by what is politically correct and the appetite of the day.
00:18:56.000 And so it's very well written.
00:18:58.000 And you mentioned Turning Point quite a lot.
00:19:00.000 I sure do.
00:19:01.000 It's my Turning Point USA story.
00:19:02.000 And you're wearing the Turning Point USA jacket.
00:19:04.000 So I'm full approving of all of it.
00:19:07.000 Also, Dennis Prager endorsed the book, and Prager is kind of like the godfather.
00:19:10.000 He's like the Moses of all of us in conservatism.
00:19:13.000 He's been so impactful.
00:19:15.000 So talk about why parents need to read this book as kind of like a first-person narrative of what their kids might encounter in school.
00:19:23.000 Once I decided to be an outspoken conservative in my community and really be the first person to bring some of these ideas to my college campus through starting a Turning Point USA chapter, I was that number one target for the ideas and the ideology and the person to completely shut down and avoid on a college campus.
00:19:40.000 Like many of our students, I got the death threats and the threats of violence, and my address was doxxed online, and really nowhere was safe in my college community because I dared to advocate for ideological diversity.
00:19:52.000 And I think sadly today, so many 18-year-olds show up to their college campus completely unprepared for the situations that they're going to be dealing with in the classroom, in student government, in Greek life, or other clubs on campus.
00:20:04.000 So, if a parent is really unsure of whether or not a conservative student of theirs might start to face these things in their next chapter, I think this is a great roadmap from the student perspective that really hasn't been shared before.
00:20:16.000 And so, I remember you started the Turning Point USA group.
00:20:19.000 I spoke in February of 2018, and the whole world blew up.
00:20:23.000 Oh, yeah.
00:20:24.000 That's a good way to say that.
00:20:25.000 That was three years ago, Isabel.
00:20:27.000 I know.
00:20:27.000 I remember that was a great event.
00:20:30.000 And I had all sorts of people, I thought it's like film crew or something.
00:20:33.000 Vice, I don't think they ever used the footage because it probably made me look too good or us look too good.
00:20:39.000 And then you hosted Candace not too far after at a Change My Mind event.
00:20:44.000 I think you have a chapter on that.
00:20:46.000 I do, yeah.
00:20:46.000 And then you hosted Dennis Prager on campus.
00:20:48.000 And then you hosted Don Jr.
00:20:50.000 No, that was your sister.
00:20:51.000 That was my younger sister.
00:20:52.000 That was your sister.
00:20:53.000 The Browns have a tendency for positive, courageous activism.
00:20:58.000 But there are all sorts of stories within all of that.
00:21:00.000 But you stayed active.
00:21:02.000 Right.
00:21:02.000 We kept working hard and we built on that momentum of this crazy backlash we were experiencing from students and administration even telling us that the goal of our university wasn't to educate young adults and make them successful people.
00:21:14.000 It was to become the social justice institution of America.
00:21:18.000 Our administration wanted to be the next mizu.
00:21:20.000 And you remember, Charlie, just how bad that backlash was.
00:21:23.000 The National Guard had to come to your event, if you remember.
00:21:26.000 Yes, that was three years ago.
00:21:28.000 Three years ago.
00:21:28.000 Snipers on top of the computer science building.
00:21:31.000 Not joking.
00:21:32.000 And that just continued to escalate more and more.
00:21:34.000 But I think because of that, students are seeing courageous members of their peer community speak up and fight back, even if it's something as little as raising your hand in class and fighting back against your professors.
00:21:44.000 So there was a huge movement that spurred at CSU's campus and all across the country, as we see with our other Turning Point USA groups as well.
00:21:51.000 So the book is called Frontlines.
00:21:52.000 It's by Isabel Brown.
00:21:54.000 We were just showing it.
00:21:54.000 So Isabelle, I want to talk about how it's happening now.
00:21:58.000 The virus shut down all these schools.
00:21:59.000 The New York Times says all we have to do is open windows.
00:22:02.000 We could have opened a lot of people.
00:22:03.000 Science, right?
00:22:04.000 Exactly.
00:22:04.000 We've been saying that I'll get a little bit of wind in and things all of a sudden start to get better.
00:22:09.000 You said that things have changed on campus and not for the better.
00:22:13.000 What do you mean by that?
00:22:14.000 Academia and particularly college campuses have just so rapidly evolved.
00:22:19.000 And I think it's mirroring the change of culture in our country too in the last few months or so.
00:22:24.000 We've been in this room in particular a lot since November talking about how much our culture was going to change.
00:22:30.000 And now, obviously, you're seeing conservatives from all walks of life, but especially on college campuses, being labeled as all Nazis.
00:22:38.000 They're white supremacists.
00:22:39.000 They're terrorists if they voted for the former president in this last election.
00:22:43.000 And this ideology is continuing to get crazier and crazier because, as we all know, people say things through a screen that they would never say in real life.
00:22:51.000 And that's exactly what's Happening with some of these virtual classes as well.
00:22:55.000 Students are just being completely pummeled with leftism to a degree never before seen.
00:22:59.000 And I think that the radicalism has just gone to extreme lengths.
00:23:04.000 And, you know, for parents that send their kids to college, things have changed even the last couple of years since you went to college.
00:23:10.000 It's gotten worse.
00:23:11.000 Would you agree with that?
00:23:11.000 Progressively worse every year.
00:23:13.000 And I think we're just at a tipping point, truthfully, in our country, where people need to decide if getting a college degree is the right move for them.
00:23:20.000 It might be for so many people who want to go to medical school or become an engineer, and that's the right pathway for them.
00:23:26.000 But when you have to take mandated courses on how all conservatives are terrorists and we're so racially divided in this country that we'll never come back from that and that our founding value is slavery and white supremacy instead of liberty and freedom, that's a moment to pause and think about that.
00:23:41.000 So talk about some of the things we are seeing at Turning Point USA.
00:23:44.000 I get some of these updates and everyone should get involved.
00:23:47.000 tpusa.com.
00:23:50.000 Just talk about some of the stuff that you're seeing on the front lines right now of stories at Turning Point USA with our students.
00:23:56.000 They're under attack.
00:23:58.000 What are some nuggets and stories you can share with us?
00:24:00.000 Our students are under attack like never before, Charlie.
00:24:02.000 And obviously I've gone through a lot of that.
00:24:04.000 So it's always a pleasure talking to our students from the other side of things and telling them that there is hope going through this stuff because it's really isolating and lonely to be an outspoken conservative in your community.
00:24:15.000 I sat down with so many of our students over the last few months speaking on college campuses across the country.
00:24:20.000 And I'm hearing stories like people getting kicked out of their sororities because they dared to post a tweet from Candace Owens on their Instagram story and how that goes against their sororities values.
00:24:30.000 People are now being taught that math is white supremacist and patriarchal.
00:24:34.000 So even math classes are not exempt from this kind of stuff.
00:24:38.000 And universities are starting to segregate students more and more and more in as many ways as possible by race, by gender identity, by sexual orientation, even socioeconomic status.
00:24:49.000 I think one of the craziest stories that came out of this last week was Columbia University announcing how they're going to do their graduation ceremonies this year.
00:24:57.000 There's going to be six or seven different ceremonies, one for black students and one for LGBT students and one for low-income students and one for first-generation students and females.
00:25:07.000 And this is the evolution of progressive ideology.
00:25:11.000 It's not progressive at all.
00:25:12.000 We've literally gone in a circle historically.
00:25:15.000 And I think there's just this hyper focus on identifying students as a group.
00:25:20.000 And as soon as you, as an individual, try to break out of that and be unique, to push against the crowd, to be countercultural, especially as a conservative, you become public enemy number one.
00:25:29.000 So one of the top questions we get is: I agree with all of that.
00:25:32.000 I'm scared.
00:25:34.000 What do I do?
00:25:35.000 I would argue that you absolutely need to speak up and do something about it, even if you are scared and even if it is lonely and isolating.
00:25:43.000 I lost a lot, if not all, of my friends for a while there during my college experience.
00:25:48.000 Every friend you have, except maybe one or two will go away.
00:25:51.000 Absolutely.
00:25:52.000 And I was called every name in the book, literally, white supremacist, racist, white power Barbie, you know, homophobic, transphobic.
00:26:00.000 I got the death threats.
00:26:01.000 My address was posted online.
00:26:02.000 Trust me, if anybody gets it, I get it.
00:26:04.000 I walked through that valley of fire for a very long time as a student.
00:26:08.000 But by the time I graduated, there was this huge community of people having socialism sucks buttons on their backpack and raising their hand in class and running for student government as conservatives.
00:26:18.000 And I learned very early on through this process, being a student and now doing what I do, sometimes people just need someone else to be the first person.
00:26:26.000 They need somebody else to set up the table and hand out the buttons or raise their hand in class or run for student government or speak up against some of these crazy policies like these graduation ceremonies.
00:26:36.000 And all of a sudden, dozens and dozens, if not thousands of people, get the courage to do that too.
00:26:40.000 So what was the biggest thing that you know today that you wish you would have known right before you went to college?
00:26:46.000 It wasn't going to be what I expected.
00:26:49.000 And truthfully, that college was not going to be what I expected.
00:26:52.000 Even the big cowboy agricultural school in Colorado has been totally overrun by leftism.
00:26:58.000 And that it's okay to walk alone if you're walking towards the truth.
00:27:02.000 And I think we forget, even as Christians, sometimes in this world, that we're not supposed to fit into this world, right?
00:27:08.000 I tell people this all the time when they ask, How do you deal with the hate?
00:27:11.000 How do you handle some of this name-calling and the death threats?
00:27:14.000 I'm not trying to be like this world.
00:27:16.000 I'm trying to make this world a little bit more like the next.
00:27:18.000 And the gospel is very clear as a Christian.
00:27:20.000 This is what I fall back on when things get tough.
00:27:22.000 I'm going to be hated if I tell the truth and if I dare to be different from this world.
00:27:27.000 The book is Front Lines: Finding My Voice on an American College Campus.
00:27:31.000 It's written in narrative form.
00:27:33.000 Let me just tell you some of the chapters, and I love these names right here: Indoctrination 101.
00:27:38.000 It's not just me.
00:27:39.000 Socialism sucks.
00:27:41.000 Love that.
00:27:42.000 A bad case of isms and the obias: student government or partisan politics.
00:27:47.000 My turning point.
00:27:48.000 What was your turning point?
00:27:49.000 Finding Turning Point USA.
00:27:51.000 I couldn't have set it up any better than that, right, Producer Connor?
00:27:53.000 The best.
00:27:55.000 Speaking up and speaking out, changed my mind.
00:27:57.000 Coming unglued, the liberal case for a conservative presence on campus.
00:28:00.000 On the front lines, politics do belong at the dinner table in the arena.
00:28:06.000 Pretty compelling.
00:28:07.000 And so, throughout all of that, it's the big deal to write a book at any age.
00:28:12.000 And so I hope every young person that's watching or listening or parent, you look at Isabel's story, and Isabel's story is one of many people that are speaking out.
00:28:21.000 She was very active.
00:28:22.000 I think she was probably the most active person we had in all of Turning Point USA for an 18-month period and withstood huge opposition.
00:28:28.000 But for parents out there, and we just did a whole segment on critical race theory and all that, they say, Well, I'm afraid.
00:28:34.000 We'll draw inspiration from people that are literally fighting every single day, and they're the ones that have gone through this.
00:28:41.000 And Isabel, in the minute 15 we have remaining, does it end well?
00:28:46.000 It does.
00:28:47.000 It ends absolutely well, better than your wildest dreams could possibly imagine.
00:28:51.000 And I always tell people, this is hard.
00:28:53.000 We know what we're asking you to do is difficult.
00:28:56.000 You might lose friends.
00:28:56.000 You might get a failing grade on a paper.
00:28:58.000 You're probably going to get called all these crazy names.
00:29:00.000 But there's so much peace in advocating for the truth.
00:29:03.000 And you find a lot of stability and a strong foundation in that.
00:29:07.000 And I can guarantee you, the people that are going to come into your life as a result of speaking up and standing for what is right are going to mean so much more to you than anybody else.
00:29:15.000 That's well said.
00:29:16.000 We have a new addition to our professor watch list.
00:29:18.000 Now, if you're watching this or listening on podcast or radio, all across the country, and you say, What is the professor watch list?
00:29:25.000 It's a project of Turning Point USA where we name the names and the actions, specifically factually, of the teachers that are indoctrinating your kids, your students, with your dollars.
00:29:38.000 And today is Professor Watchlist Selection is Nathan Fletcher.
00:29:42.000 Isabel, tell us all about him.
00:29:44.000 Ah, Professor Fletcher, what an interesting character.
00:29:47.000 This is an individual who not only is a professor of political science at the University of California, San Diego, he's also chair of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors.
00:29:58.000 So he's sort of double-dipping in the insanity on college campuses and in local government in California.
00:30:05.000 But this individual is paid by the local government and the university to say things like: All conservatives taking part in the recall effort of Governor Newsom are neo-Nazis and white supremacists.
00:30:18.000 He says that the storming of the Capitol on January the 6th reminded him of his combat experience as a Marine to the enemies of America.
00:30:29.000 This individual says that Trump is an existential threat to peaceful democracy, and even that Black Lives Matter protests were never responsible for any cases of COVID-19.
00:30:41.000 But you know what?
00:30:42.000 We're Charlie as an expert in science here, political science, remind you, bars, restaurants, house parties, offices in the state of California.
00:30:50.000 So there's a clear double standard when it comes to political beliefs here.
00:30:55.000 But this individual is just beyond the pale as a leftist professor.
00:30:59.000 And he also has said there's substantial evidence that those who are leading the recall effort against Gavin Newsom are linked and associated with neo-Nazi, with white supremacists, with right-wing militia groups, which is a total lie.
00:31:10.000 Of course it is.
00:31:10.000 Yeah.
00:31:11.000 And he actually went on to say that racism beyond all of this should be a public health crisis as declared by the local government there in San Diego County.
00:31:21.000 And they were trying to pass a resolution that would force the county to use racial and equity data to prioritize public funding for projects and COVID-19 relief funds.
00:31:30.000 And he argued this in front of the Board of Supervisors, and he got his public health crisis resolution passed.
00:31:38.000 Now, let's go to Cut 52 of Gavin Newsom, who listens to this person, this professor Nathan Fletcher.
00:31:44.000 Remember, what happens on college campuses doesn't stay there.
00:31:47.000 It goes everywhere like a virus.
00:31:49.000 Play tape.
00:31:50.000 Look at the petition.
00:31:52.000 Look at the actual reasons they themselves listed.
00:31:58.000 It has to do with immigration, the Browning of California.
00:32:02.000 It has to do deeply with our values, the things we hold dear.
00:32:06.000 And then let's go to Cut 53 of Mark Thiessen, just wonderfully cross-examining him.
00:32:12.000 Play tape.
00:32:13.000 Mark, what's going on here?
00:32:16.000 So curse the numbers with me for a second, Harris.
00:32:18.000 According to the far left Southern Poverty Law Center, there are 148 white nationalist groups in the entire country, which, by the way, is horrible.
00:32:25.000 But let's say that on average, they have 1,000 members.
00:32:28.000 That means that there's about 148,000 white nationalists in the entire country.
00:32:33.000 If you think that's too small, double it, triple it, quadruple it.
00:32:36.000 There are 2 million people who've signed a petition to recall Governor Newsom, half a million more than is necessary to start or trigger a recall.
00:32:46.000 If every white nationalist in America lived in California and signed that petition, they wouldn't even come closer to triggering a recall.
00:32:52.000 He is not being recalled because of racism.
00:32:56.000 He's being recalled because he's incompetent.
00:32:58.000 Well said, Mark Thiessen.
00:33:00.000 You know, sometimes he was a little unfair towards Trump.
00:33:02.000 That was a phenomenal piece of television, and he's exactly right.
00:33:05.000 And Gavin Newsom is the one that actually cares about people's skin color.
00:33:09.000 And all of this stems from a hyper-bigoted college atmosphere that teaches your children to care about race, not about character, but they care about skin color, which is evil and immoral and wrong.
00:33:20.000 Isabel, the book is called Frontlines.
