00:01:06.000 Hey, you guys, welcome to a special edition of Real Life.
00:01:09.000 And the Charlie Kirk Show.
00:01:10.000 What's up, everybody?
00:01:11.000 It's awesome.
00:01:12.000 Listen, we are colliding today.
00:01:14.000 It is not rehearsed.
00:01:16.000 It is not planned.
00:01:17.000 We have no plots.
00:01:18.000 Unscripted.
00:01:19.000 It's unscripted, which is always dangerous when we get together.
00:01:22.000 But we believe that the Lord will lead us.
00:01:24.000 Charlie, before we get going right now, something dear to me: it's 2 Timothy chapter 2.
00:01:30.000 You, therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Jesus Christ.
00:01:34.000 And he goes on to say, You, therefore, I love that, that stress must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
00:01:41.000 No one engaged in warfare entangles himself in the affairs of this life, that he may please him, speaking of Christ who enlisted him.
00:01:49.000 That is you, Charlie, as a soldier.
00:01:51.000 And I want to thank you for standing for what's right, standing for what's good.
00:01:55.000 We love you.
00:01:55.000 The nation loves you.
00:01:56.000 That's it.
00:01:57.000 And yeah, well, I mean it with all my heart.
00:02:00.000 And the context of that verse is Paul, one of the last things Paul ever wrote before standing trial and eventually being crucified, literally killed, to young Timothy, who was really kind of trying to find his way.
00:02:10.000 Paul is going to write in chapter four that he has lived his life looking for the coming of the Lord Jesus.
00:02:19.000 It's the first time in Paul's authorship where he surrenders that blessed hope joy and expectancy when he says that I know that what is laid up for me is a crown of righteousness that the Lord our God will give to not only me, but to all those who have loved his appearing.
00:02:37.000 Paul was able to do so much for the kingdom of God because he believed that every day could be the day that he met Christ.
00:02:44.000 And there's a joyous, beautiful sense of urgency.
00:02:47.000 Amen.
00:02:47.000 And we're living that time right now.
00:02:48.000 I think so.
00:02:49.000 And look, people interrupt me all the time.
00:02:52.000 On, you know, I'm just traveling or they email me.
00:02:53.000 They say, Charlie, I'm so depressed.
00:02:55.000 I'm so down right now.
00:02:56.000 I say, look, this is the time to be more joyful than ever before.
00:02:59.000 This is the moment we're built for.
00:03:01.000 I mean, do you want to be so true?
00:03:02.000 Do you want to be just when the church is the most popular thing and you're building big buildings and all these sorts of things?
00:03:08.000 No, this is the moment of persecution that we are promised, trained for, that will test our faith.
00:03:14.000 Listen, it's easy to be a Christian when things are cush.
00:03:18.000 It's easy when everything's happening.
00:03:20.000 But we, listen, we know something that the year that passed, 2020, what did we see?
00:03:27.000 We saw the church being purified.
00:03:29.000 We saw the pulpits being purified.
00:03:32.000 We saw people's faith being tested.
00:03:34.000 And now we come out of the year with, I think, a refined church.
00:03:40.000 Now we enter into the new year.
00:03:42.000 And I do believe that we're in phase two, if I can put it that way, of the church's refining.
00:03:47.000 James chapter one.
00:03:48.000 James chapter one is the perfect verse.
00:03:52.000 There's so much said in that James chapter one.
00:03:54.000 First, it says, ask for wisdom and God will give it generously.
00:03:57.000 James 1:5.
00:03:58.000 It says very clearly that you should be thankful for your persecution.
00:04:01.000 I'm paraphrasing.
00:04:02.000 But the essence is that you will be persecuted and it will strengthen your faith.
00:04:07.000 And that there's also a promise that after the persecution, you're going to be stronger and more fulfilled and closer to God because who doesn't want to get closer to God?
00:04:15.000 Isn't that the hole in our heart that we all have?
00:04:18.000 We pray, Lord, draw me closer.
00:04:19.000 Lord, I want to know you more.
00:04:20.000 And the Lord goes, That's what trials are for.
00:04:23.000 Exactly.
00:04:24.000 Temptation.
00:04:24.000 Listen, friends, temptation comes from Satan, the world, and our flesh.
00:04:28.000 That's also in James 1, that God will never tempt you.
00:04:31.000 Exactly.
00:04:31.000 God cannot tempt us with sin.
00:04:33.000 He doesn't do that.
00:04:34.000 That's a super important point.
00:04:35.000 What's awesome about that, again, the world, Satan, our flesh, tempts us.
00:04:40.000 The Lord will try us, try us so that our faith comes forth as gold.
00:04:45.000 And we're entering into that time.
00:04:46.000 And that's okay.
00:04:47.000 That's completely fine.
00:04:48.000 Amen.
00:04:49.000 So, Charlie, with all that's going on, and I'm just breathing a big sigh of relief.
00:04:54.000 Even though, honestly, the results of the election didn't go the way that I would like, Jack.
00:05:01.000 Or that you would want.
00:05:02.000 Here's the amazing thing: as believers, and a lot of people don't get this, Charlie.
00:05:06.000 Man, within hours, seriously, within 24, 36 hours, I had 11 or 12 interviews.
00:05:13.000 You name them, they came calling.
00:05:16.000 But they all had this question.
00:05:18.000 They all had this same question.
00:05:19.000 It's like they conspired together.
00:05:21.000 Colluded.
00:05:22.000 Colluded together.
00:05:23.000 And they asked, What is evangelical Christianity in America going to do now without Donald Trump?
00:05:28.000 And I said, What?
00:05:29.000 Come on.
00:05:30.000 You got to ask a better question than that.
00:05:31.000 No, no, no, we mean it.
00:05:32.000 Well, first of all, we're going to keep doing what we've always done for 2,000 years.
00:05:36.000 You've got to remember, our faith and following Jesus defeated the Roman Empire.
00:05:40.000 Nero was just a blip on the radar, and here we are still.
00:05:45.000 Our faith was never in a man.
00:05:47.000 I went to tell that newspaper that I said that our delight was in his policies, which honored the God of the Bible.
00:05:55.000 It wasn't the man, it was the positions that were God honoring.
00:05:58.000 That kind of position, Charlie, is going to generate what Paul says here is a warfare, is a spiritual, emotional, and sometimes, God forbid, it's sad, but even in some areas, people would take that violently, which is never the Christian.
00:06:14.000 And I denounced it as it was happening.
00:06:16.000 So did you.
00:06:16.000 Absolutely.
00:06:17.000 And violence is not the way to do this.
00:06:19.000 And I will add to what you're saying here.
00:06:21.000 This is going to be the greatest either blessing or it will be either the greatest stumbling block for the American church.
00:06:27.000 And here's why.
00:06:28.000 That's right.
00:06:28.000 The American church has been so incredibly blessed by the Lord financially, politically.
00:06:33.000 It's the dominant religion, right?
00:06:35.000 So what does that mean?
00:06:36.000 Got a lot to lose.
00:06:37.000 You got a lot of endowments.
00:06:38.000 You've got a lot of tithes.
00:06:40.000 You got a lot to lose.
00:06:40.000 And that's why you're a hero, Jack, because you say, I give it all to the Lord.
00:06:43.000 It's all the blessings of Calvary Chapel, Chino Hills.
00:06:46.000 I'm going to keep on stepping out.
00:06:47.000 I'm going to keep on doing this.
00:06:48.000 Where some of these other pastors, if you really get down to it, they say, boy, Charlie, you really speak out quite a lot.
00:06:53.000 I'm like, well, why don't you?
00:06:54.000 Well, you understand, I have to.
00:06:55.000 I have a bank note I have to fulfill.
00:06:58.000 I just signed on to this whole thing here.
00:07:00.000 And that's going to be a trying moment.
00:07:03.000 Are you going to stand up for truth?
00:07:04.000 Amen.
00:07:05.000 In this moment, I mean, let's give a great example right now.
00:07:08.000 Right now, as we're doing this podcast, Calvary Chapel, San Jose.
00:07:12.000 I spoke there in October.
00:07:14.000 Mike McClure.
00:07:15.000 Mike McClure is facing $1.5 million fines, possibly a judge-ordered bank confiscation against his assets of his church and potentially prison time for just opening up his church.
00:07:26.000 That's right.
00:07:26.000 There are 350 Calvary Chapels south of Anuis.
00:07:29.000 Where are they all standing up, mobilizing their congregations to go stand with Mike McClure?
00:07:33.000 You are.
00:07:34.000 Rob McCoy is.
00:07:35.000 James Cadiz is.
00:07:36.000 John Randall is Calvary Chapel Juan Capistrano.
00:07:40.000 Few and far in between.
00:07:41.000 When a brother in just the Calvary circuit.
00:07:44.000 And yet, you know what those other San Jose churches are doing?
00:07:47.000 They're saying, huh, what a fool.
00:07:49.000 What a fool.
00:07:50.000 Mike obeyed Jesus' command.
00:07:53.000 And he still is.
00:07:53.000 And he still is.
00:07:55.000 And that command is, behold, I've set before you an open door, Jesus said, that no man can shut.
00:08:01.000 Think about this.
00:08:03.000 Again, phase one, 2020, the church is being tested.
00:08:06.000 And we all, when we heard about COVID, nobody knew what it was.
00:08:11.000 That's right.
00:08:11.000 In fact, in many ways, China staged photos of Chinese laying in the streets of dead people.
00:08:18.000 Nobody died of COVID like that in mass in the streets.
00:08:21.000 It's a total stunt.
00:08:23.000 But we fell for the clip.
00:08:24.000 We fell for the 15-second image.
00:08:27.000 We didn't know what we were getting our hands into, our bodies into.
00:08:32.000 And then as time went on, and you've not only copied, or not copied, but recorded this well, but you spoke out very clearly about this, that something was up.
00:08:42.000 And then how we handle it.
00:08:43.000 There's one way that a government handles it.
00:08:45.000 It's one way a family handles it.
00:08:47.000 But we already had the roadmap as to how the church was to handle it.
00:08:51.000 And sadly, the injunction of Jesus and of scripture to not forsake the assembling together unless you could get sick.
00:09:00.000 Do not forsake the assembling together unless there's threats going out against you.
00:09:06.000 I think that's where we're heading now.
00:09:08.000 What happened was the COVID experience went boo to the Christian community and it almost folded.
00:09:16.000 And now the next wave is going to be in France.
00:09:19.000 In fact, Charlie, let's get out ahead of it.
00:09:22.000 I hope I'm wrong about this, but where we're at right now in this political environment, the church is going to be the target.
00:09:32.000 Of course.
00:09:33.000 And the church is going to be the tip of the spear for attack.
00:09:39.000 If we couldn't stand against a virus that we couldn't see, what are we going to do when we see a government that visibly will be coming against us?
00:09:51.000 It depends on the will of the pastor that's running the church and also whether or not that congregation is willing to actually do what that word of God says.
00:10:01.000 Is it just kind of an allegorical document?
00:10:03.000 Is it kind of like a life improvement book?
00:10:05.000 Or is it actually something you believe is the word of God?
00:10:07.000 That's actually an important thing.
00:10:08.000 That's actually the bottom line.
00:10:09.000 That's actually what we're at here right now.
00:10:11.000 Is it some form of, like, do you believe like the God of Oprah, where it's like some sort of amphibious, like Eastern meditative God?
00:10:17.000 Or do you believe in the God of the Bible?
00:10:19.000 The God of the Bible that sent his son to go save you?
00:10:21.000 This is actually the question that we're grappling with.
00:10:22.000 This is really what it's about.
00:10:23.000 And a lot of modern day Christianity actually believes in the God of Oprah, which is like this unspecified kind of like this not monotheist, like it's like this kind of Eastern spiritual God.
00:10:34.000 And then if you kind of meditate to get closer to it, and really Christianity is not that different than any other religion, that has seeped into massive parts of the American church.
00:10:44.000 That is a pantheism that is well entrenched within Christianity.
00:10:48.000 And I say the God of Oprah because she's like championing this.
00:10:50.000 No, really, truly.
00:10:51.000 But all of this stuff about what are you going to do if you've sat in a church all your life and you were told that God loves you, he does, but nothing bad is going to happen to you because his thoughts toward you are good.
00:11:06.000 Well, that's true, but you're never going to get sick and you're never going to go broke.
00:11:11.000 The health, wealth, prosperity, nonsense.
00:11:13.000 Exactly.
00:11:14.000 There's been this God with several heads that have been crafted by pulpits today, or I should say for generations now, where I believe Jesus could come back at any moment.
00:11:27.000 And you can almost smell the reality of that.
00:11:30.000 Having said that, I don't know when he's coming back, but I've got to live like Paul, like he's coming back today.
00:11:35.000 So I want to hurry up and serve him.
00:11:37.000 But at the same time, I want to go about doing good.
00:11:40.000 Amen.
00:11:40.000 And that's an important thing because God gives us the law to point to Jesus.
00:11:44.000 We don't forsake the law.
00:11:45.000 That's right.
00:11:46.000 So we honor the teachings.
00:11:47.000 Right.
00:11:48.000 First of all, one of the teachings in the Old Testament is also how to handle epidemiological outbreaks, which is true.
00:11:53.000 Actually, quarantine.
00:11:54.000 You quarantine the sickness.
00:11:55.000 So, this is in like Leviticus, I think.
00:11:57.000 It's true, and you love on them.
00:11:58.000 Yes, that's right.
00:11:59.000 And so, not quarantine the healthy for the expense of the sick and not shut down entire civilizations out of fear.
00:12:05.000 And, you know, Jack, you and I have talked about this before.
00:12:07.000 What is the number one statement that is all throughout the Old Testament?
00:12:10.000 Do not be afraid.
00:12:10.000 Do not be afraid.
00:12:11.000 Why?
00:12:12.000 Now, why would God have to keep on repeating it?
00:12:13.000 Because we're prone to fear.
00:12:15.000 That's right.
00:12:15.000 Despite every time God reveals Himself, you think that at some point God was like, Wait a sec, I brought you out of Egypt, delivered you from Pharaoh, parted the Red Sea, minor details, delivered you with manna and with as much coils as you can imagine.
00:12:27.000 And still, fear, fear.
00:12:29.000 God will never use fear.
00:12:31.000 This is an important thing.
00:12:32.000 Fear is a tool of the enemy.
00:12:34.000 Always whispering in your ear.
00:12:35.000 Perfect love, the Bible says, cast out all fear.
00:12:39.000 And that doesn't mean you have to be foolish.
00:12:40.000 This is the other thing.
00:12:41.000 Some people say, oh, I'm never afraid.
00:12:43.000 I'm going to jump off the top of the building.
00:12:44.000 No, that is not full of the wisdom of James 1:5.
00:12:47.000 But that is the fear of the retribution of the earthly cost.
00:12:47.000 Exactly.
00:12:51.000 That's not something that I'm going to dominate my life.
00:12:54.000 Dominate my spirit.
00:12:55.000 So listen, as a pastor, and speaking to predominantly Christians right now, when the Bible tells us that in the last days, perilous times will come, as soon as the Bible announces that, 90% of my angst and my fear is evaporated because my Bible tells me in advance that these days are coming.
00:13:14.000 Number two, there's going to be the rise of false doctrines and false teachings.
00:13:20.000 1 Peter.
00:13:20.000 Yes, and what's interesting about that is we've always thought in our Western mind, and I get it, that it's cults and false teachings about religion and stuff.
00:13:31.000 Yes, it is.
00:13:32.000 But you know what we can also, I think, expand on is false teaching can also be, now I'm realizing that when somebody comes and says to the world, to you and I, this is what's going on, this is what you must do, and that what you must do is stay indoors, don't talk to anybody, cover your face, and detach from the culture, and they pound fear into you.
00:13:59.000 That's right.
00:14:00.000 Everything that you know down deep inside is something that is going against what God's calling you to do.
00:14:05.000 I'm not saying don't wash your hands, and I'm not saying that.
00:14:07.000 No, that's actually Old Testament.
00:14:08.000 That's Old Testament.
00:14:09.000 I'm just talking about, if you follow me, wash your hands.
00:14:11.000 That's what you should wash your hands.
00:14:12.000 Wash your hands.
00:14:13.000 But listen, if you should wear a mask, then you should wear a mask.
00:14:17.000 But you should also know the truth about masks.
00:14:18.000 But that's neither here nor there.
00:14:20.000 The fact is that when somebody, the Bible commands us to pray for those who are sick, except COVID people.
00:14:27.000 Well, no, I mean, you should absolutely pray for those sick.
00:14:30.000 We were supposed to.
00:14:31.000 I say we were.
00:14:31.000 We still can.
00:14:32.000 Pray for COVID sick people.
00:14:34.000 We're supposed to pray for everyone.
00:14:35.000 And every death is a tragedy.
00:14:36.000 It absolutely is.
00:14:37.000 Absolutely.
00:14:38.000 And also, the sacrificing of people's liberty is a tragedy, too.
00:14:41.000 And so what we've done is we've had two tragedies.
00:14:44.000 Charlie, that's a true statement.
00:14:46.000 It's always a true.
00:14:47.000 That is a true statement.
00:14:48.000 Here's the tragic thing.
00:14:49.000 People were willingly happy to give up their liberty.
00:14:53.000 This is a good conversation.
00:14:54.000 Why?
00:14:55.000 Which tells me that they never really knew or exercised their liberties much at all, so it was easy for them to surrender them.
00:15:02.000 And that's a perfect way to put it.
00:15:05.000 And I would add on to that.
00:15:07.000 You have to understand where does liberty come from?
00:15:10.000 Without a liberty giver, then liberty won't be really respected.
00:15:14.000 Absolutely.
00:15:15.000 And so an example of this is if you walked into your home every day at 5 p.m. and everything was taken care of for you.
00:15:21.000 Food, allowance money, and you don't even acknowledge where it comes from.
00:15:25.000 You just grow accustomed to that, right?
00:15:27.000 You don't start to acknowledge that there's a giver there.
00:15:29.000 However, really strong-built families where the father is working till 9 p.m. every night just to be able to bring enough food, you say, that's the guy that's bringing home what gives us the capacity to keep going.
00:15:41.000 Exactly.
00:15:41.000 And that's just a nuclear family way of describing it.
00:15:44.000 But God is the one that grants us liberty.
00:15:46.000 It's not man's idea.
00:15:46.000 It's God's idea.
00:15:47.000 But you know what the other thing about liberty?
00:15:48.000 It's actually really scary and dangerous.
00:15:52.000 Legitimately is.
00:15:53.000 In the wrong hands and in the wrong heart.
00:15:53.000 It's true.
00:15:55.000 But liberty requires responsibility.
00:15:58.000 You've got to manage it.
00:15:58.000 It requires wisdom.
00:16:00.000 It requires management.
00:16:01.000 It has costs.
00:16:02.000 It also requires you to be alert, which the Bible tells us to be.
00:16:05.000 Very responsible.
00:16:06.000 But if you're more of a lazy posture, if you're someone that wants to be taken care of, if you're someone that wants to be sedentary, by the way, all these things are anti-biblical, then liberty is not really for you.
00:16:16.000 Liberty requires you to be alert.
00:16:18.000 It requires you to be informed.
00:16:20.000 It requires you to be self-aware.
00:16:22.000 Like, what am I putting in my body?
00:16:24.000 Is this right?
00:16:24.000 Should I really be staying up to 2 a.m. putting, you know, drinking this sublime or not?
00:16:29.000 Because liberty allows you to do it, but then there's a cost.
00:16:31.000 You see, we have completely abandoned the idea of liberty the last 11 months in our country.
00:16:38.000 And now where does this idea, what actually allows us to live freely?
00:16:43.000 This is an idea that the founding fathers grappled with.
00:16:45.000 Well, if you go to Harvard Law School, right there on the stairwell, it says, the law are the wise constraints that keep men free.
00:16:51.000 What?
00:16:52.000 Let's dissect that.
00:16:52.000 Hold on a second.
00:16:53.000 So true.
00:16:54.000 The law is a restraint, shackles, that keeps me free.
00:16:58.000 Break of shackles.
00:16:59.000 What?
00:17:01.000 That is the most inherently contradictory yet wise thing, which is the opposite of everything that you would hear in secular culture.
00:17:07.000 Check this out.
00:17:07.000 You just made me think of something which I hope becomes a good illustration.
00:17:11.000 If not, it's a bad one.
00:17:13.000 With what you just said, with the law as guardrails, listen, I drove in Los Angeles a little while ago 150 miles an hour.
00:17:23.000 Wow.
00:17:24.000 Yeah, wow, right?
00:17:26.000 Let me expound.
00:17:28.000 I drove a Porsche in Los Angeles 150 miles an hour.
00:17:32.000 You can handle it.
00:17:33.000 More specifically, I drove a Porsche on a racetrack in Los Angeles that's owned by Porsche because that's what the course is designed to do.
00:17:42.000 And you can drive Porsches around.
00:17:44.000 And I got that as a birthday gift.
00:17:45.000 And I got up to 150 miles an hour on this race course, but it had guardrails.
00:17:50.000 Are you with me?
00:17:51.000 Yes.
00:17:52.000 All of a sudden, what seemed like being lawless and out of control, when I gave context, it justified the speed.
00:18:00.000 Liberty can take you from zero to 150 miles an hour, but without guardrails, it's a catastrophe.
00:18:06.000 So where do we get those guardrails?
00:18:08.000 And this is how God blesses his followers and his children in the midst of trial.
00:18:14.000 So we know trials are coming.
00:18:15.000 So what are we supposed to do?
00:18:16.000 Let's get back to what God told us.
00:18:18.000 You tell the truth.
00:18:19.000 You stay honored.
00:18:21.000 You're in a relationship of which you are faithful to one person, right?
00:18:24.000 You honor your neighbor.
00:18:25.000 The laws that God gave us, we don't forsake them, we don't throw them out.
00:18:30.000 In fact, they will keep us.
00:18:31.000 They're the guardrails that keep us free in the midst of all these trials.
00:18:34.000 Exactly right.
00:18:34.000 I love it.
00:18:35.000 I love it.
00:18:36.000 So today, what we're watching today in our world, in our nation, forget the world, it's the nation.
00:18:41.000 We have a lawless, a very, very serious lawlessness problem.
00:18:45.000 The Bible, by the way, Jesus warns about this.
00:18:48.000 You said something earlier that's very, very powerful.
00:18:50.000 I wonder if everybody heard that.
00:18:53.000 Is if you're in a nation that is for liberty, and the founding fathers saw the First Amendment being the First Amendment because it's natural law.
00:19:02.000 John Locke articulated it, social contracts.
00:19:04.000 It's from God.
00:19:05.000 That's in man.
00:19:07.000 If that is true, and it is, and this nation stands for liberty, you said something that maybe you're in the wrong country, basically.
00:19:19.000 Think about that.
00:19:20.000 If you're here, you should love liberty.
00:19:23.000 If you're here and you don't love liberty, then this is not the right country for you.
00:19:28.000 Isn't that a radical statement if you think about it?
00:19:30.000 Totally.
00:19:31.000 But I want all the perks that this place brings me.
00:19:35.000 Okay, if you want the perks, those guardrails brought you those perks.
00:19:40.000 Amen.
00:19:40.000 And you only want the perks, not the guardrails.
00:19:43.000 Well, and you cannot have liberty without a vibrant church.
00:19:46.000 It does not work.
00:19:47.000 It's that simple.
00:19:48.000 Alexa de Tocqueville made that pretty clear.
00:19:50.000 And so, as soon as the church started to become about wealth, health, you know, increasing your bank account and making you feel nice about yourself.
00:19:59.000 And it made, and it made as its 11th commandment or its first mission: we've got to be relevant.
00:20:05.000 We've got to do everything we can to be relevant.
00:20:08.000 Relevant, relevant.
00:20:09.000 Let's have a conference.
00:20:09.000 Let's have a meeting.
00:20:10.000 And what does relevant look like?
00:20:12.000 We've got to have tennis shoes and skinny jeans, and we've got to have this and that, and we've got to be relevant.
00:20:17.000 When all the while, if we would have just stopped and slowed down to realize the Holy Spirit is always relevant, we need to follow Him and He's going to lead us through the Word, which is eternally relevant.
00:20:27.000 That's exactly equally then as it does now.
00:20:31.000 And so, the other issue with that and where the Christian church is now going to be tried, and guess what, Jack?
00:20:37.000 You're going to pass the trial because you're already in the midst of it.
00:20:40.000 It's not as if you're waiting for it to start, but there's some pastors 20 miles from here, 30 miles from here, they think that they're going to be spared.
00:20:48.000 And maybe they will in this moment, because the current power structure does not want to obliterate the American church.
00:20:54.000 That is not right.
00:20:55.000 This is important.
00:20:56.000 They want to get rid of the churches they don't like.
00:20:58.000 They want to get rid of the disagreeable churches.
00:21:00.000 I've read about this.
00:21:00.000 And they want obedient churches because they know if they get rid of all the churches, that will spark an uprising.
00:21:05.000 But if they have a church that does what it's told to do, if they have a church that will give the correct sermons, that will never mention life, that will never come out and talk about the biblical case for against illegal immigration, but instead will tow the party line and that will host the correct ceremonies, never get political, then that church won't get audited and that church won't be investigated.
00:21:27.000 This is exactly what happened in Romania.
00:21:30.000 This is what happened in Poland.
00:21:32.000 This is what happened in Germany.
00:21:34.000 This is what happened in Russia, where they never abolished churches.
00:21:39.000 You're exactly correct, Charlie.
00:21:40.000 They abolished some churches.
00:21:43.000 They approved some churches to stay in operation.
00:21:47.000 And it just so happens that those churches that operated even received income or support.
00:21:56.000 Stalin did not get rid of all the churches.
00:21:59.000 Neither did Hitler.
00:22:01.000 And Stalin especially had the Russian Orthodox Church.
00:22:05.000 However, you would know as you're giving, you know, in the Orthodox Church, I don't know if they call it a sermon or a homily or whatever, you would know that there might be a member of Stalin's Praetorian Guard, if you will.
00:22:16.000 Right.
00:22:16.000 That if you say one thing, it's getting reported back, and your family will disappear.
00:22:20.000 They were censors.
00:22:22.000 And never would they talk about the liberation of the individual.
00:22:25.000 Never would they talk about Christ setting you free.
00:22:28.000 No.
00:22:28.000 Instead, it would be about structure and order.
00:22:31.000 Unity.
00:22:31.000 A unity.
00:22:32.000 Would community.
00:22:33.000 Right.
00:22:33.000 So unity is a really interesting word.
00:22:35.000 We've been hearing about that a lot, right?
00:22:37.000 Well, the left believes in a Soviet definition of unity.
00:22:40.000 You know what that definition is?
00:22:42.000 The absence of opposition.
00:22:44.000 So if you get rid of everyone that disagrees with you, of course you're going to be united.
00:22:47.000 There's no one that disagrees with you.
00:22:49.000 Exactly.
00:22:49.000 That's why liberty must always precede unity.
00:22:52.000 If you're unified around the idea of liberty, that's great.
00:22:56.000 If you're unified around the idea of the abolition of liberty, time out.
00:22:59.000 That is not the unity I want.
00:23:01.000 Okay, so I got a phone call the other day, and the phone call was, hey, for 2021, are you guys willing to host the local ecumenical prayer meeting?
00:23:13.000 So what is that?
00:23:15.000 I guess it's multi-faith.
00:23:16.000 I haven't been to it yet.
00:23:18.000 I asked the guy, what is that?
00:23:19.000 Well, we gather together, all of us from these different faiths, and we pray together.
00:23:25.000 And I asked some more questions about it, and my answer was, no, it's not going to work.
00:23:30.000 Why?
00:23:30.000 Because in the prayer meeting, we were to be united.
00:23:35.000 United, he said, united, even though we have differences.
00:23:38.000 Wait a minute, my Bible tells me if I don't pray to the Father in the name of Jesus, it's not a prayer.
00:23:43.000 It cannot be heard.
00:23:45.000 So check this out.
00:23:47.000 Unity has been so elevated that the truth has been sacrificed for the elevation of unity, when that's impossible.
00:23:56.000 Because Amos 3.3 says, how can two walk together unless they're in agreement?
00:24:01.000 Two walking together means they're on the same path, in the same direction.
00:24:05.000 That's why we have Bible doctrine and that's why truth should never be sacrificed on the altar of unity.
00:24:13.000 That's exactly right, and so I think unity is idealistic, I think it is admirable.
00:24:18.000 But the question is also, what are you unifying around exactly?
00:24:21.000 Are you unifying around some sort of bizarre secular, humanist agenda?
00:24:26.000 Yeah people yeah, exactly.
00:24:28.000 I'm saying Biden said unity 50 times.
00:24:29.000 That's why we're bringing it up.
00:24:31.000 Well exactly yeah now unity unity, now.
00:24:34.000 That should be the slogan, unity obey, now obey.
00:24:38.000 What's interesting is there are going to be some people who are watching right now and they know enough of the Bible to say, how dare you two when the Bible says how blessed and beautiful it is that the brethren together that would dwell together in unity yes, that the brethren would dwell together in unity.
00:24:56.000 That presupposes doctrine, that the doctrine of God's word has united us.
00:25:01.000 We need to remember Charles Spurgeon was right when he said, regarding division in the church, there are things such things as blessed subtractions.
00:25:11.000 Not everything under the church roof is of the church, and we're coming into a year where the church, I think, is going to be tested yeah, I mean in more ways than one and the churches that stay disciplined to the word of god and are willing to stand courageously and boldly will be blessed beyond measure.
00:25:31.000 So look Charlie, I know we've got producers and stuff going crazy behind us.
00:25:34.000 We're way, way out of time.
