00:03:58.000They had, you know, they had done all sorts of things to Charlie.
00:04:01.000And I was sort of balancing two things.
00:04:03.000One, I wanted to tell that audience who he was and what he actually stood for, not the caricature that had been created.
00:04:11.000And number two, I also wanted to tell that audience how it felt to be a conservative walking around in the world.
00:04:16.000I mean, we had obviously seen what they tried to do to President Trump.
00:04:19.000He barely survived an assassination, Charlie had been assassinated.
00:04:23.000And I don't know how you guys felt that day about this particular issue, but I said on TV, It didn't feel safe to be a conservative walking around America, given how radically violent so many people on the left had become.
00:04:39.000So I was trying to do two things that day, Andrew, which was convey a positive message about what Charlie meant to so many conservatives, particularly young conservatives and particularly young men, and also to convey some emotions about how conservatives were feeling about their own safety in our political ecosystem.
00:05:02.000Well, Charlie was one of the most unique and special people in the conservative movement today.
00:05:07.000What he was able to build, the people he was able to organize, was just so large and powerful.
00:05:18.000He was able to convince people to get involved in politics that might not have otherwise done so.
00:05:24.000When you look at what he did on these campuses and in these public events, thousands of people were showing up, not for a rock concert, Not for a sporting event, but for American politics.
00:05:38.000He inspired all these kids to be involved in their country.
00:06:01.000I was, you know, a total mess in those days, especially.
00:06:06.000But, you know, last night was actually, I think, kind of powerful as well because we had Charlie's name evoked time and time again at the RNC, whether it was RFK, Don Jr., JD Vance, Caroline Levitt.
00:07:07.000Couple of days myself, and you know, everybody wanted to talk about Charlie and all those Republicans that had come from around the country.
00:07:14.000Everybody wanted to tell their Charlie story, everybody wanted to show you their picture with Charlie.
00:07:19.000I had people pulling out their phones, oh, here's my picture, and it was incredibly sad, but at the same time, it was incredibly uplifting for all these people to be remembering what an impact he had on their lives.
00:07:34.000You know, a lot of what the general public knows about Charlie is the outward facing stuff.
00:07:38.000What I was struck by in some of the stories and remembrances I was hearing just in the hall were people who were saying, Oh, you know, I met Charlie once and he took the time to talk to me for a few minutes.
00:07:48.000And he was clearly very kind and generous with his own time.
00:07:52.000And for all those people that were in that hall, I was thinking to myself, what percentage of these people did Charlie Kirk actually shake hands with, meet, talk to, and impress upon them in some way?
00:08:03.000I mean, it seemed like a huge number, to be honest.
00:08:05.000And it tells you a lot about who Charlie was as a person.
00:08:09.000I couldn't believe it when I was looking on social media yesterday, all the pictures of Charlie with all these people throughout the years.
00:08:16.000Basically, he brushed up against essentially everybody in the conservative movement.
00:09:20.000And it caused me to go back in to that day that we had together there in Colorado.
00:09:25.000And I was telling my son, you know, what they were most excited about, what Charlie and Andrew were talking to.
00:09:29.000Me about that day was not the college campuses, it was the high school stuff, the chapters that TPUSA was forming on high schools and building this next generation of conservative activists.
00:09:43.000And so, anyway, this was an emotional week for me because of Charlie, 9 11.
00:09:48.000I work for President Bush, everything going on in our world.
00:09:52.000It's been emotional for us in the Jennings household.
00:09:54.000I'm glad to share some time with you on it today, Andrew.
00:09:59.000Charlie once said, That although his day job was politics, politics was only the second most important thing.
00:10:06.000The first and the most important thing, in his words, was winning souls for Jesus Christ.
00:10:16.000That was last night, Mikey McCoy speaking to over 5,000 people at our Freedom Built to Last event.
00:10:41.000Anyways, the folks that came out and spoke and reclaimed that campus is a powerful moment.
00:10:48.000Also, want to make a note I guess for some of you, the stream yesterday, we had people don't understand.
00:10:54.000An eighth of Phoenix's internet went down yesterday.
00:10:57.000Like they called it a ring, not a line.
00:11:00.000So we come to the office with all these plans the vice president, Don Jr., big three hour mega stream honoring Charlie, and our internet is down.
00:11:08.000So, the team's throwing up Starlinks all over the place.
00:11:11.000Imagine if we just didn't have Starlink.
00:11:39.000And somebody that got close to Charlie really in the last year of his life and got to see Charlie kind of at the zenith of his powers in so many different ways.0.98

00:11:55.000I think it's just all, you know, it's sort of like this oh, we all hate Israel together, so let's form a coalition with like baby killers and open borders, radicals and communists.0.98

00:12:40.000Well, I hope that the conservative movement and the Republicans are looking at the existential threat to our country as a moment that we have to unify.

00:12:54.000You know, there's always been people who have disagreements over this or that.
00:12:58.000I think to me, the principal glue, and Charlie well knew this today, is that we're not facing normal political opponents right now.
00:13:06.000We're facing people who fundamentally hate America.
00:13:09.000They want to rip out the American experiment root and branch.
00:13:12.000The Democratic Party is now far more favorable to socialism than they are to capitalism.
00:13:17.000You look at the patriotism polling that Gallup puts out, very few Democrats are extremely proud to be Americans.
00:13:23.000Virtually every Republican, no matter their stripe or their pedigree, is proud.
00:14:01.000And that's why his being a glue in the party was so important because he could keep people focused.
00:14:06.000Okay, we can have disagreements amongst ourselves, but when it's time to focus on the fight, we all focus on the fight together.
00:14:12.000And I just hope his legacy is one of us being able to remember that, whether it's this year or 2028.
00:14:19.000We're not facing normal political opponents anymore.
00:14:22.000And the United States of America continues to face global enemies like radical Islamic terrorism and other things.
00:14:30.000That would love to take advantage of internal political division, particularly among the people who, you know, heretofore have been able to clearly identify the problem.
00:14:38.000I mean, if you, so if you are a young male that feels disenchanted because of the war in Iran or whatever, know that you're getting played.
00:14:48.000There are actually ops from China, there are ops from Iran, there's ops from Russia, there are ops from everywhere, okay, from the Middle East that want to use the wedge issues to exploit a chasm and to get you to align with.
00:15:03.000People that think that your baby should be able to be murdered right up until conception.
00:15:36.000Because that was the group that followed Charlie into the breach, that were willing to follow him and take his word, and they've become disenchanted.
00:15:55.000What's your message to young men in this country?
00:15:57.000You live and you were born in the greatest country ever devised.
00:16:02.000You're going to have a lot of people coming at you every day.
00:16:05.000And it's misinformation and it's propaganda and it's designed to turn you against your own country.
00:16:09.000But you're going to have a lot of people coming at you every day trying to tell you that America is not good, that we're a force for bad in the world, not good, that somehow you live in this apocalyptic hellscape.
00:16:21.000They're trying to turn you against your own country.
00:16:26.000Some of it is a foreign op and some of it is internal.
00:16:28.000I mean, you listen to what the Democrats and these liberals, these progressives, these socialists, these radicals have to say today.
00:16:34.000It's almost all designed to turn you against your own country.
00:16:38.000Just remember, you live in a good country that protects your free speech, that can tell the difference between right and wrong, that typically sides with civilization over barbarism, and that treats common sense like a virtue and not a vice.
00:16:51.000And all these people coming at you telling you these are wrong things.
00:16:54.000Telling you that the nuclear family is oppressive.
00:16:57.000If they're coming at you with these messages, just remember it's an op and it's an op designed to destroy the United States of America from the inside out.
00:17:05.000They're trying to get you to participate in it.
00:17:27.000Make it what you want it to be and make it what our founders intended to be, not what some foreign operative or some America hating radical wants to do to it.
00:17:42.000And if you don't believe us that there are foreign powers that want to nudge you in a certain direction and exploit the wedge issues in this country, just look at what they're celebrating or marking, rather, in New York today.
00:17:56.000Nearly 3,000 Americans lost their lives.
00:17:58.000When some foreign hijackers took planes and flew them into buildings in New York City.

00:19:45.000That was a President Trump speech at the RNC on September 9, and he mentioned John Thune.

00:19:58.000That was not, yeah, well, it wasn't surprising he got booed, but now joining us is Senator Rick Scott.
00:20:06.000By the way, Senator, I saw a little news that hopefully we'll have some time to get into that the Senate Leadership Fund is working with the Texas PAC to back our friend Ken Paxton in.
00:22:09.000So, somebody that simply wants to have a conversation and will listen to both sides and sit down and talk in a civil manner was murdered.
00:22:18.000And so, I mean, I still to this day cannot imagine because I was on the show two days before that happened.
00:22:26.000And we actually talked because I've been going to universities like Charlie did.
00:22:30.000Not as many as he's done, but you just, you know, this country's, you know, one, we have people internally that want to murder us, like Hassan Piker wants me murdered and all the capitalists in the country murdered.
00:22:41.000And then you've got, we're on 9 11 where people from outside this country hate us.
00:22:46.000We have to understand this is a fight.
00:23:28.000I think, you know, there's times where there's, you know, sort of expansion, big tent.

00:23:38.000It feels like we're in a time of purging where some of the voices that we thought were with us were never really with us.
00:23:44.000And we've got to sort of consolidate, get our power base, and move forward.

00:35:14.000But you've got to do it in a manner that you also balance the budget and pay for everything you're doing and figure out how to grow the economy way faster.
00:35:22.000It's the only way we're going to get inflation under control, get more jobs in this country, and make sure people can afford their house, their education, their car.
00:35:29.000Look at what's just following what's happening with interest rates right now.
00:35:33.000Interest rates are continuing to move up, which makes it harder to buy a house, harder to finance a car, higher credit card interest rates.
00:35:50.000It was, by the way, it was one of Charlie's huge, huge issues right from the very beginning.
00:35:54.000I mean, I don't know if you've seen these clips, though, but it was Charlie going on like Neil Cavuto railing against the budget and the deficit.
00:36:05.000And I think at that point it was like, don't quote me, but I think it was around like $10 billion at the time, like maybe $14.

00:37:15.000And Nick surely has, if he's taught us anything, it's that when the government goes, oh, we're going to give everybody free stuff, guess what?

00:55:29.000I also, I just want to say what's crazy to me is you can tell who's been an actual fan of Turning Point USA and who is new as a hater.

00:55:46.000Like it is wrapped around, usually going for an hour and a half, her taking a photo with every single person.
00:56:05.000Because Charlie wanted her, like, he wanted to model marriage for everybody because he was so excited about being married and he loved Erica.
00:56:12.000And their love story, like, everybody can attest when they would get around each other, it was almost like annoying how, like, in love they were.
00:56:42.000I think actually, I want to read the email that came in with the woman who did the painting of Charlie and Erica, just because I think it's representative of a lot that we've gotten.

00:57:46.000So it's kind of one of those things where Erica's, the overwhelming support is from like regular people that don't necessarily have a thousand followers or 10,000 or a hundred million followers.

00:59:03.000Yeah, because here's what's going to happen, right?
00:59:06.000You've got this group that says, oh, Turning Point needs to be more like this.
00:59:09.000And you've got this group that says, oh, you've got to be more like this.
00:59:11.000And the whole thing is basically a recipe for purity tests.
00:59:15.000And any movement that you can observe that.
00:59:18.000Devolves into a purity spiral, purity test spiral is an unhealthy movement.
00:59:22.000So, we're just going to say, hey, you feel very strongly about XYZ, debate it.
00:59:29.000That's going to be a lot of the focus of this year's AmFest, I think.
00:59:32.000We'll still do some keynotes and we're still going to have some of that, but there's going to be a lot of debates and the breakouts are going to be talking about all these issues.
00:59:39.000So, we've got to sort of start building towards a consensus on some of these more hot button topics because, yeah, the midterms are right there, but this is going to be December after the midterms.
00:59:49.000And then we got to start getting that consensus built towards 2028.
00:59:52.000So I think Amfest is going to be a great opportunity, a great platform for that.
00:59:56.000And yeah, we are going to be doing, we're going to have our podcast room for members, of course.

01:11:38.000Being held in tandem right now, especially yesterday, where it was like these moments, and Erica talked about this in that New York Times op ed about the waves.
01:11:48.000And I feel like yesterday there was a lot of various iterations of those waves of kind of this deep emotional contemplation, and then also the revitalization of just, oh, yeah, let's keep this thing going.

01:13:54.000We've talked about the midterms plenty, but as we go through the midterms and then to 28, what was Charlie's like mantra when he would go into these election cycles and not just, you know, this or that candidate or this or that talking point, but how did he operate with and how did he convey that to you guys?

01:14:19.000Kind of one or two lines and just hypnotically repeat them and he'd get the t shirts made of them.

01:16:01.000And if Charlie's life meant anything to you, left any legacy, or impacted you in any way, you would know that that is a stupid response to the problems that we face.0.99

01:24:28.000Explaining basically what, giving the update that they'd heard.
01:24:32.000And then I remember we were listening on the radio briefly when we came back in from recess.
01:24:36.000And then finally, late in the afternoon, they actually did a, since it was a Catholic school, we had a church attached, we did a mass in the afternoon.
01:24:44.000Normally we'd do that on Wednesday, but we did it that afternoon.
01:24:48.000And so that's my memory of how that all went down.
01:25:19.000And when I got in the car, my mom told me some terrorists threw their planes in these big skyscrapers in New York City.
01:25:24.000And then we had Fox News on, of course, every single night going forward.
01:25:29.000I mean, it was already on in my house.
01:25:30.000I grew up in a very conservative house.
01:25:33.000That was like the first time I remember, like, patriotism ignited in me.
01:25:37.000And I was a third grader and I could not stop watching the coverage.
01:25:40.000And kudos to my parents, who, even though I was in third grade, they explained it on a level I could understand, but they didn't try to hide it from me.
01:25:48.000And so that really kind of opened the door for political conversation and the state of the country every night at dinner from there forward for my entire life.
01:25:57.000And, you know, I'm still a proud conservative and patriot to this day, but that's where I was.
01:27:38.000I don't know if it was the first day, but it was like that.
01:27:40.000I remember being really traumatized by the fact I had to get up early and go to football practice.
01:27:45.000And so we had to, you know, my dad's driving me at like six in the morning.
01:27:49.000And so we heard it on the radio on the way to school that day.
01:27:51.000And so I got into the locker room, and somebody had wheeled in one of those TVs.
01:27:56.000And I remember there was this guy that was, I lived in Nevada, so he, He was from Texas.
01:28:01.000And I just remember it's like this Texas guy is one of our linemen.
01:28:05.000And he was, he was, I walked into the locker room and he was like basically shouting pejoratives about how we were going to go bomb some people or something.
01:28:13.000You know, this Texan, leave it to the Texan transplant to Nevada talking about how we were going to, you know, fight back or whatever.
01:28:20.000But yeah, I remember the whole day, we were, I was at a Catholic high school.
01:28:23.000And so it was, it was kind of, I don't think we did much teaching that day either.
01:29:52.000And when he asked you a question, he could not stand if somebody didn't answer very succinctly like one word answer or one sentence answer.
01:29:58.000If you were beyond that, he was moving on.
01:30:00.000He was walking past you or changing the subject.
01:31:29.000Hilarious because he'd always be like, he'd always see me, he'd check in, how are things going at work, whatever, and then be like, You still like Taylor Swift?
01:31:36.000And he'd be like, I just remember my favorite Charlie Taylor Swift moment was when he was like, He's like, It better be, you know, Taylor Kelsey.
01:32:13.000I'm telling you, I've seen this image on social media where he's just glaring, and I think it must have been at like Danny or Mikey or something, because like somebody made a noise in there.
01:33:23.000No, I agree with Alex, but there's meaning to it why I won't get rid of it.
01:33:27.000The gentleman who brought me was a client of mine who I became very good friends with who got killed back in New Orleans in a car accident when he moved home.

01:38:09.000Where I thought I was going to die, you know, flying into Atlanta, and we hit that wake turbulence, and it like the plane like flipped on its side twice.

01:41:17.000That's, that was, so many travel stories like that because he was just constantly traveling.

01:41:27.000And it would be so funny because he'd be quizzing, like, he, for example, if he was prepping for a topic and he would just say, Blake, tell me about, Immigration or something, or the Roman Empire.
01:41:35.000Sometimes there's just an education project.
01:41:37.000And he would just go, okay, tell me, blah, blah, blah.
01:46:01.000That the game is rigged, get right with God and just wait for Him to come back.
01:46:07.000Looking back on your life and the tragedy that happened, you were the man that was able to stand up and speak truth, and you made a difference.
01:46:19.000You walked with God, and you not only influenced this state, country, but you influenced the world.
01:46:29.000And you've shown me that one man, when they speak God's truth, can affect more change than any empire or ideology.
01:46:39.000And that, my friend, is a lesson which I am eternally grateful.
01:46:44.000I pray that I can shake your hand and say thank you one day.
01:46:59.000And I asked my mom, I was like, what do you, what do you, my dad was very funny.
01:47:05.000And I said, what do you think dad said when Charlie got to heaven?
01:47:10.000And my mom said, he probably looked at him and said, Hey, you look like Charlie Kirk.
01:47:18.000One of my fondest memories is when he was going through the security in London and I heard these extremely British sounding lads, like they had to be about high school age.
01:47:29.000And Wim could, like, yeah, I think that's Charlie Kirk over there.
