00:00:03.000 My name is Charlie Kirk.
00:00:05.000 I run the largest pro American student organization in the country fighting for the future of our republic.
00:00:11.000 My call is to fight evil and to proclaim truth.
00:00:14.000 If the most important thing for you is just feeling good, you're going to end up miserable.
00:00:19.000 But if the most important thing is doing good, you will end up purposeful.
00:00:24.000 College is a scam, everybody.
00:00:26.000 You got to stop sending your kids to college.
00:00:27.000 You should get married as young as possible and have as many kids as possible.
00:00:31.000 Go start a Turning Point USA College chapter.
00:00:33.000 Go start a Turning Point USA High School chapter.
00:00:35.000 Go find out how your church can get involved.
00:00:37.000 Sign up and become an activist.
00:00:39.000 I gave my life to the Lord in fifth grade.
00:00:41.000 Most important decision I ever made in my life.
00:00:43.000 And I encourage you to do the same.
00:00:45.000 Here I am.
00:00:46.000 Lord, use me.
00:00:48.000 Buckle up, everybody.
00:00:49.000 Here we go.

00:01:21.000 All right.
00:01:24.000 Oh, what a blessing.
00:01:25.000 Thank you so much for coming, Charlie.
00:01:27.000 We're blessed to have you here.
00:01:29.000 And, you know, last time we were together, it was in 2020.
00:01:33.000 And we were there in San Juan.
00:01:34.000 And let's face it, a lot has happened.
00:01:37.000 Since 2020.
00:01:39.000 And first of all, the last time we were together, you had just got married.
00:01:44.000 But now you are a father.
00:01:46.000 And my question to you is how has being a father changed your life and impacted the work that you're doing with Turning Point USA?
00:01:55.000 Well, thank you, John.
00:01:56.000 And how great is Pastor John, by the way?
00:01:58.000 Does he not do a great job?
00:01:59.000 I'll tell you.
00:02:01.000 And I love this church, and I can see you guys have big, big plans to keep on growing.
00:02:07.000 I remember the old spot you have.
00:02:10.000 I just love it.
00:02:11.000 I love this church, and Michelle, you guys do such a great job.
00:02:13.000 And yeah, I mean, it's changed everything.
00:02:16.000 You know, the best way I could analogize it is it's kind of like the Old Testament and the New Testament of your life, like BC and AD.
00:02:24.000 It's like you don't even, it's like a different chapter of your life before you have a child.
00:02:29.000 Getting married is, of course, the most important thing besides giving your life to Jesus Christ.
00:02:34.000 I will say, though, that the transformation that occurs when you hold your child, if you get exactly what I mean.
00:02:42.000 And if you don't, then get married and have kids because it's good for you and good for society.
00:02:47.000 But also, I mean, I will say this it radicalizes me in the best possible ways. 0.91
00:02:53.000 And I inherently have difficulty, and I pray for forgiveness over this for the kind of bitterness I have towards the childless that are trying to ruin our society people that don't have children and people that don't want us to have children. 0.94
00:03:09.000 And they're telling you that we shouldn't have kids because of climate change or we should just have more abortions in our country. 0.99
00:03:16.000 It's the greatest gift from the Lord to have children.
00:03:18.000 And we should celebrate that every single day.
00:03:23.000 It's not easy.
00:03:24.000 You worry about things you've never thought you'd worry about before.
00:03:28.000 And I mean, but you realize that life is not about you. 0.96
00:03:32.000 And that is the Christian calling it's the unraveling of you. 0.94
00:03:36.000 And it's focusing on Christ and focusing on the cross, focusing on duty and obligation and obedience. 0.96
00:03:43.000 And you realize that you want to try to pass that down.
00:03:47.000 To somebody else or a different generation.
00:03:49.000 And then, not as if I needed more urgency, but it created a higher level of a sense of urgency.
00:03:57.000 And I was like, wow, we're handing down an increasingly awful place to live for my daughter.
00:04:03.000 We're destroying the greatest nation ever to exist in the history of the world.
00:04:06.000 We're doing it to ourselves.
00:04:08.000 And I'm not going to be able to look her in the eyes when she's 10 years old or 15 years old.
00:04:12.000 And she'll say, like, what was America like when we didn't have, you know, like all the different, you know, open borders?
00:04:17.000 Or what did we just have a country that was considered to be great?
00:04:21.000 And I wouldn't be able to live with myself.
00:04:23.000 And I think you feel the same way because that's why we're in this fight.
00:04:28.000 We're in this fight for our children and, God willing, our grandchildren.
00:04:32.000 And so it's blessed Erica and I immeasurably.
00:04:36.000 And if you think you've seen Charlie Kirk work hard, we're going to a whole nother level.
00:04:41.000 That's what fatherhood does for you.
00:04:43.000 I love that.
00:04:45.000 You know, Charlie, I recently saw an interview that you had with Russell Brandt.
00:04:49.000 It's been seen by over a million people.
00:04:51.000 I mean, this thing is just.
00:04:52.000 And he asked you a question, and I thought it was a great question, and the way that you answered it was excellent.
00:04:58.000 Can you share about how important your relationship with Jesus Christ is as your Savior?
00:05:04.000 Yeah, I mean, it's everything.
00:05:05.000 And we must always keep our eyes focused on the cross.
00:05:08.000 And, you know, when I visit these college campuses, by the way, keep us in prayer.
00:05:12.000 Tomorrow, I'm going to San Diego State University for two events.
00:05:15.000 And so, somebody recently said, Charlie, would you like to go on a mission trip for me?
00:05:22.000 I'm good.
00:05:24.000 I love the mission work.
00:05:25.000 I do my mission work here domestically on college campuses.
00:05:29.000 So, when I go to San Diego State University, they'll ask me, what makes Christianity different? 0.94
00:05:35.000 There's all these different religions, and who's to say that yours is correct or right?
00:05:39.000 And appealing to reason usually doesn't always work in that moment.
00:05:43.000 It has to be a soul thing, it has to have transformation from within.
00:05:47.000 But it needs to be expressed that Christianity is the only faith that expresses where the divine took the temporal form, not out of any sort of the only explanation could be love.
00:05:58.000 It's the greatest love story ever told.
00:06:00.000 Which is, and this is why John 1 is so incredibly important, and the book of John is transformational, because it is the clearest about Christ's divinity.
00:06:10.000 Christ's divinity is expressed in all Gospels, but it is by far the clearest in John, the seven I am statements, and then just John 1, that in the beginning was the Word, and the Word became flesh.
00:06:19.000 That is so deep and heavy.
00:06:21.000 If you think about it, the word in Greek is logos, and I'm sure Pastor John has walked you through this multiple times, but understanding what that meant in ancient Greek was that it was the.
00:06:32.000 The idea that the universe has an infinite component to it.
00:06:39.000 All of the stars, all of the constellations, the logos is the idea that we have gravity and physics, and it's the power that made that all come together from our DNA, from how you are perfectly and wonderfully made.
00:06:52.000 The Greeks said the logos is the mind of the universe, if you will, the best way I could put it, is the designer.
00:06:58.000 And what John says so clearly is that the logos then became human.
00:07:05.000 And so let's contrast that with Buddhism.
00:07:07.000 So in Buddhism, it is all about how dirty you as a human being are, and that you must shed your dirtiness as a human being to reach nirvana.
00:07:17.000 If you talk to a true Buddhist, they think it is incomprehensible that the divine or the eternal would ever take human form.
00:07:26.000 Like, why would the perfect ever become the dirty human?
00:07:30.000 They just don't get it.
00:07:30.000 They said that we're supposed to become eternal by not talking, and by literally in Buddhism, not talking is one of the highest levels of climbing towards nirvana.
00:07:39.000 And only the Buddha in their belief system did that.
00:07:42.000 Christianity flips it all over.
00:07:43.000 It's that God loved you so much that he took human form.
00:07:49.000 And that is a truth that resonates to all people.
00:07:53.000 And we were joking around about John 3, you know, backstage.
00:07:57.000 But it said right there when Nicodemus is basically questioning Jesus.
00:08:02.000 And this is where we get the idea of being born again, where Nicodemus is like, What do you mean you're born again?
00:08:09.000 Aren't you already born once out of your mother's womb?
00:08:11.000 And Jesus is like, No, you must be born both by water and spirit.
00:08:14.000 Water being baptism, spirit being by accepting Christ as your Lord and Savior.
00:08:18.000 And only those will then come into the kingdom of God.
00:08:19.000 And Nicodemus is like, What are you talking about?
00:08:21.000 Like, God bless this guy, right?
00:08:22.000 He's trying to figure this out.
00:08:23.000 And that's where we get the most famous verse in all of Christianity for God so loved the world.
00:08:28.000 That he gave him his one only son, that whoever believed in him shall not perish, but he have eternal life.
00:08:31.000 And the next verse that he did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world.
00:08:36.000 And so this is a rescue mission.
00:08:38.000 Understand that we are in peril because of our own broken selfish nature.
00:08:42.000 God gave us the ability to choose, and we messed it up since the garden.
00:08:45.000 And we have not done very well since.
00:08:48.000 War, famine, destruction, disease, self interest, murder, rape.
00:08:53.000 And God sees all of humanity, and he says, I love humanity so much, I'm going to give them one last eternal chance.
00:08:59.000 And I'm going to take their form, not just broadcast it on billboards and say, give all your money to me and all this, but I'm going to walk alongside of you and among you.
00:09:08.000 And so Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life and it's transformed me from within.
00:09:14.000 I want to ask you something.
00:09:16.000 How long have you been putting off plans to buy a home because of mortgage rates?
00:09:21.000 I understand why you might be hesitant, but what if the opportunity you're waiting for looks different than you expect?
00:09:27.000 When other buyers see obstacles, there may be opportunities to negotiate.
00:09:32.000 Explore different financing options and find a way forward.
00:09:35.000 That's why I want to talk to you about Andrew and Todd.
00:09:38.000 Their experience and access to programs and solutions may help you discover possibilities you haven't considered.
00:09:45.000 They may even be able to help you with programs that can shave points off current market rates.
00:09:50.000 And as rates change in the future, they'll keep an eye out to refinance into even lower payments.
00:09:55.000 Please don't look back months from now and wonder if you missed an opportunity.
00:09:59.000 All it takes is one phone call to find out the truth for you.
00:10:03.000 Call 888. 888 1172.
00:10:06.000 That's 888 888 1172.
00:10:09.000 Or visit andrewandtod.com.
00:10:11.000 Take a few minutes, find out what's possible.
00:10:13.000 Your next chapter may be closer than you think.
00:10:19.000 And I get the amazing opportunity to dialogue with people of all different faiths.
00:10:23.000 And, you know, without picking on, you know, different religions, you know, let's just say like the New Age Eastern religions, they're always grappling with this idea of like, I have to strip myself of all the earthly things and You know, if I just kind of get my chakra right, then I'll be able to get to enlightenment.
00:10:40.000 Like, you're thinking way too much about this.
00:10:41.000 Like, this is Jesus is the answer.
00:10:43.000 That's it.
00:10:44.000 It's accepting Jesus into your soul.
00:10:46.000 That is the answer in your life.
00:10:48.000 And then the Greeks had a word for this, which is metamoufe, which is to metamorphosize you.
00:10:52.000 And I know you guys have a men's conference coming up in Romans 12, 2, which is do not conform to the ways of this world, but instead be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
00:10:59.000 It's the same word, renewal or revitalization or metamorphosis, which metamorphosis we think of kind of a caterpillar into a butterfly.
00:11:07.000 That's what happens with Jesus.
00:11:09.000 Is that you don't even remember who you once were. 0.86
00:11:10.000 And then it's not that you don't sin, but for real Christians, you know what I mean?
00:11:15.000 It's that when you sin, you feel differently.
00:11:17.000 And that's my number one mark of how I know someone's an actual Christian.
00:11:21.000 It's how do you feel?
00:11:22.000 Like, let's for example, you might have really been a big drinker, then you give your life to Christ, and then you try to be a big drinker again.
00:11:28.000 You're like, you just feel like you're taking Jesus drinking along with you.
00:11:31.000 Like, you feel different.
00:11:32.000 You're like, it's not as if you don't do it, but you just have something almost that you're trying to reconcile with it.
00:11:38.000 That is fruit that you've been born new.
00:11:41.000 And we don't give our lives to Christ, or let me say this we don't do good things just to try to win favor with Christ. 0.71
00:11:48.000 And that's what makes everything so different in Christianity, is that other religions are trying to win points on the scoreboard.
00:11:54.000 It's a free gift right there for you.
00:11:56.000 And we don't do good things to get saved, we do good things because we are saved.
00:12:00.000 That's right.
00:12:01.000 It's completely different.
00:12:02.000 We do it out of an act of worship and celebration.
00:12:05.000 And I can say this I'm not an expert in world religions, but I am an expert in American paganism.
00:12:12.000 I am, because I fight it every single day.
00:12:15.000 And by the way, I love these pastors.
00:12:17.000 Like, I don't want to be political.
00:12:18.000 You don't realize?
00:12:19.000 We're fighting the pagan gods of the Old Testament every day. 0.99
00:12:23.000 We are fighting the pagan god of Molech. 0.95
00:12:25.000 We're fighting the pagan god of Jezebel. 0.97
00:12:27.000 We are fighting the pagan gods that God's chosen people were up against all the time. 0.94
00:12:32.000 When I go to these college campuses, they are broken.
00:12:35.000 They are suffering.
00:12:36.000 They're looking for eternal hope.
00:12:38.000 And only Jesus is that hope.
00:12:40.000 And if I can bring just one person to Christ, I know there's one person I met earlier that was just an amazing testimonial, then it's a life well lived.
00:12:47.000 And you get life eternal.
00:12:49.000 It's the greatest thing you can give to other people.
00:12:51.000 And so praise God that.
00:12:53.000 We get the chance to know Jesus Christ.
00:12:54.000 And if you don't, you should make that decision here tonight.
00:12:56.000 It's the most important decision you can make.
00:12:58.000 There you go.
00:13:00.000 It's the best information you could have.
00:13:03.000 And I often say, listen, you can be conservative and still on your way to hell.
00:13:07.000 You need Christ.
00:13:08.000 You need to be born again.
00:13:10.000 That's what matters.
00:13:11.000 You know, Charlie, I want to talk for a moment, just talking about our involvement in the church.
00:13:17.000 And, you know, there's something lately that I've heard more, it's some titles that get thrown around, some things that the church is being called.
00:13:26.000 It's the word.
00:13:27.000 Christian nationalist and dominionist.
00:13:30.000 Can you help us understand? 0.99
00:13:33.000 You can't get involved in anything civically because you're a Christian nationalist. 0.61
00:13:38.000 Can I break that down for us and help us to understand what that is about? 0.60
00:13:41.000 So glad you bring this up, John. 0.69
00:13:42.000 This is now the number one narrative that will be pushed forward by a secular pagan regime to try to get the church not involved in politics.
00:13:51.000 They have now broadcasted it, they've done a movie.
00:13:54.000 People that I grew up really respecting, I'm saddened by this, John.
00:13:58.000 And I like people like Russell Moore, who I end up reading a lot of his stuff. 0.88
00:14:01.000 He's going in movies saying that Christian nationalism is this huge threat, and he's partnering with secular pagans. 0.97
00:14:07.000 I was going to say satanic, but that's probably true too. 0.96
00:14:10.000 But secular pagans and making these films, you know, warning and cautioning about the growing threat of Christian nationalism. 0.96
00:14:16.000 And I always joke around I said, I've spoken to over 150 churches across the country. 0.93
00:14:21.000 Like, what exactly are you afraid of?
00:14:24.000 Are you afraid of all the poor people that they're helping?
00:14:27.000 Are you all the hungry people that they're feeding?
00:14:30.000 Or all the marriages that they're saving, right?
00:14:32.000 Are you afraid of all the people that are lost that now have direction because of the church?
00:14:38.000 And what they're really afraid of is they're terrified that the Christian church might unite its political power and might be the no against the regime.
00:14:48.000 And it is the conscience of the nation.
00:14:50.000 And so, you know, I get asked all the time, are you a Christian nationalist?
00:14:54.000 And I say, I don't like that term.
00:14:56.000 I don't.
00:14:57.000 I am a Christian and I am a nationalist.
00:14:59.000 So I'm not afraid of that.
00:15:00.000 But what you're trying to do is you're trying to call me a Nazi.
00:15:02.000 Okay, so let's just be as.
00:15:04.000 I'm a blunt guy if you don't know that.
00:15:06.000 You're trying to call me a Nazi, and so I find that to be reprehensible and repulsive.
00:15:11.000 I want a restoration of the Constitution, and that's what you want too.
00:15:15.000 I want, I'm a constitutionalist.
00:15:18.000 I'm a Bible believing Christian constitutionalist.
00:15:20.000 You know who else was?
00:15:21.000 James Madison and George Washington and John Jay and Alexander Hamilton.
00:15:25.000 If I went around to everyone in this room, if I said, if we can restore the promise of the Constitution, would you be happy?
00:15:31.000 You'd say, absolutely.
00:15:32.000 And the bad guys say, well, what are you so afraid of?
00:15:35.000 I don't know.
00:15:35.000 The church being deemed non essential?
00:15:38.000 When strip clubs and marijuana dispensaries and liquor stores could remain open and the church has to close forcibly and Easter and Pentecost are taken from us?
00:15:47.000 Or, I don't know, they go after our children and they try to chemically castrate them against their will.
00:15:53.000 Where is the, did you shout them out earlier?
00:15:54.000 I did.
00:15:55.000 The ballot referendum.
00:15:56.000 That's so important, by the way.
00:15:57.000 Everyone's got a side in that ballot referendum.
00:15:59.000 It's incredibly important here.
00:16:00.000 And so I go back to the Bible and to Scripture for all authority and for all guidance.
00:16:07.000 If it's not in the Bible, then we got a problem, okay?
00:16:10.000 So let's go to a couple of verses Jeremiah 29 7.
00:16:13.000 Seek or demand, it's the word badrash in Hebrew, the welfare of the nation that you are in. 0.94
00:16:18.000 Because your welfare is tied to your nation's welfare.
00:16:22.000 It is a commandment from the Lord, as the prophet Jeremiah writes in the 29th book, that you need to care about your nation.
00:16:29.000 Daniel fasted and prayed for his nation.
00:16:31.000 Esther cared for her nation.
00:16:33.000 Mordecai cared for his nation.
00:16:35.000 Jeremiah, not to mention Elijah, who didn't just care about his nation, he confronted King Ahab and was like, let's throw this down on Mount Carmel and see who the real God actually is.
00:16:48.000 They would call him, Elijah, you're being too political. 0.63
00:16:51.000 Elijah, how dare you confront the pagan forces? 0.94
00:16:55.000 Why don't you just preach the gospel, Elijah? 0.84
00:16:57.000 Why are you trying to throw it down on Mount Carmel?
00:16:59.000 You're too confrontational.
00:17:00.000 He did even more than that.
00:17:01.000 You could check it out.
00:17:02.000 I think you guys are studying 1 Kings.
00:17:04.000 You'll get to that pretty soon.
00:17:07.000 It wasn't politically correct.
00:17:08.000 But they're using this as a way to try to make you feel radical and afraid.
00:17:13.000 You must reject the premise in that sense, kind of laugh at it and scoff at it and say, oh, you think I'm a Christian nationalist?
00:17:20.000 Well, you're a pagan globalist.
00:17:22.000 That's interesting. 0.91
00:17:25.000 You worship the fake pagan gods of child sacrifice and of child mutilation.
00:17:31.000 You worship at the golden calf of money and pride and fame and social acceptance.
00:17:36.000 Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior.
00:17:38.000 And I want a restoration of what unites all different tribes of this country, believing tribes and non believing tribes.
00:17:46.000 One thing that we can all agree on is that the promise of the Declaration of the Constitution is one that is biblical, it is based largely and primarily on the book of Deuteronomy, it is one that is eternal.
00:17:56.000 It hearkens back to even the supreme judge of the world, which you know in Revelation is Jesus Christ, who sits on the throne and judges.
00:18:03.000 You read the last paragraph of the Declaration of Independence.
00:18:06.000 It is a prayer.
00:18:08.000 Many people have not told you this before.
00:18:09.000 There is a prayer in our founding documents.
00:18:12.000 Oh, Charlie, don't you know the founding fathers were all secular?
00:18:14.000 Well, okay, 55 out of 56 of the founding fathers were Bible believing church attending Christians.
00:18:19.000 But yes, maybe one of them was not, you know, a Christian.
00:18:22.000 Not to mention, nine out of 13 of the original colonies at the American founding had.
00:18:29.000 A requirement that you were a Bible believing Christian, even serve in political office in nine out of 13 of those original colonies.
00:18:39.000 By the end of the year, more than 60,000 babies will have been saved by pre born centers.
00:18:44.000 Just this year, 60,000 babies.
00:18:47.000 And for every baby who's saved, there's a mom who's saved from a lifetime of pain and regret. 0.66
00:18:51.000 Take a stand for life by providing an ultrasound for a young woman.
00:18:55.000 When you do, she is twice as likely to choose life.
00:18:58.000 Just $28 helps provide that ultrasound that saves one baby. 0.99
00:19:02.000 $140 helps.
00:19:03.000 Save five, a gift of $15,000.
00:19:06.000 And I know there's people out there in this audience that can do this.
00:19:09.000 $15,000 provides an ultrasound machine that can save thousands of babies for years to come.
00:19:14.000 And $28 a month can help save babies all year long for less than a dollar a day.
00:19:20.000 So call 833 850 2229.
00:19:23.000 That's 833 850 2229.
00:19:26.000 Or click on the preborn banner at charliekirk.com today.
00:19:30.000 Preborn was so special to Charlie, and it's so important to me as well.
00:19:34.000 Right now, you can help make motherhood possible by providing ultrasounds with preborn.
00:19:38.000 I'd be so honored if you'd prayerfully consider joining us.
00:19:44.000 However, going back out of that, what we want at this time is for the Constitution to be restored, the church to never be deemed non essential again, for our children to be off limits, that the separation between adult and child is firm and is non negotiable, and we will never waver on that, that the distinctions between male and female will never be blurred.
00:20:06.000 And let me just reiterate what I said earlier the biblical role for a Christian in the church is not to make politics your everything.
00:20:13.000 It surprises my critics when I say that because they don't listen to what I say.
00:20:16.000 They put words in my mouth.
00:20:18.000 I have never said that politics should be the only business of the church.
00:20:22.000 I said you should care about it.
00:20:24.000 Jesus needs to be the center of your church.
00:20:26.000 But if you don't ever mention politics, if you don't ever mention what happens in your city, if you don't ever mention morality, you are failing your flock.
00:20:35.000 And unfortunately, in today's time, the political band is growing and growing and growing because government is growing and growing and growing.
00:20:43.000 So the threat to the church is growing.
00:20:45.000 And are we going to be like the Christians in Nazi Germany that just sat idly by when the great horrors were continuing and the trains were bringing Jews to the concentration camps?
00:20:54.000 Well, we don't want to be political because of Romans 13.
00:20:56.000 That's not who we as Christians are in this country.
00:21:00.000 So they're going to try to silence us.
00:21:01.000 They're going to try to make us seem as if you're bad or you're some sort of fascist because you want a restoration of the American promise.
00:21:09.000 Reject the premise, keep Scripture as the core.
00:21:12.000 And I know the one thing that will unite us as a free society, which is a biblical society, is the Constitution.
00:21:18.000 And getting back to a constitutional republic.
00:21:20.000 Love it.
00:21:21.000 Great word.
00:21:26.000 You know, being a church leader and serving in a local congregation here in a community, why do you suppose that some church leaders, and you touched on it, are hesitant to take a stand against this flood tide of evil that we see coming in?
00:21:42.000 What is it that stops them from being more bold about these things?
00:21:48.000 John, I have to brag on you.
00:21:49.000 I'm very touched.
00:21:51.000 That you would continue to have me back to this church.
00:21:53.000 It's not a joke.
00:21:53.000 I mean, there are pastors that have to resign because they get found out that they're fans of Turning Point and Charlie Kirk.
00:22:00.000 There's one pastor in particular in Kansas.
00:22:03.000 He was fired because he wanted to screen Letter to the American Church, one of the movies that we did here.
00:22:08.000 So I want to applaud you, John.
00:22:10.000 You're a courageous person, and it really is great.
00:22:16.000 And again, I don't consider what I say to be controversial.
00:22:20.000 The world considers it to be controversial.
00:22:23.000 That I consider what I say to be biblical and factual and reasonable and rational.
00:22:27.000 But look, John, let's be honest.
00:22:29.000 The vast majority of people that call themselves pastors are not actually pastors.
00:22:32.000 And I know that's a controversial thing to say.
00:22:34.000 I believe a pastor is someone that has full spectrum involvement in the ails of the world to try to bring Christ and the truth of the scriptures to wherever it's needed.
00:22:43.000 That means to youth ministry, to prison ministries, to marriage ministries, whatever it is.
00:22:47.000 And that also means to the public square.
00:22:49.000 They look at being a pastor as kind of a mixture between a motivational speaker and a TED talk.
00:22:56.000 And their churches have kind of become like, I don't know, five ways to improve your happiness with good coffee and organized parking.
00:23:05.000 And again, I'm not trying to overly insult, I'm trying to be more.
00:23:09.000 I get these emails from these sweet people Charlie, you shouldn't pick on pastors so much.
00:23:13.000 I'll be honest, guys.
00:23:14.000 I mean, this is where I disagree with it.
00:23:17.000 I have three different things of how I hold you to account.
00:23:22.000 And the word judgment gets thrown around a lot.
00:23:24.000 We are supposed to judge within the body, just so we're clear, okay?
00:23:27.000 The world, I have a lot of, I have a heart for the lost.
00:23:31.000 But here's the thing if you, if on campus, if someone comes up to me and they say, I'm a Marxist atheist, I hold them to a much lower standard than someone who comes up to me and says, I'm a believer.
00:23:42.000 When they say I'm a believer, I say, okay, now we're talking.
00:23:46.000 And here's one of the reasons why.
00:23:48.000 And then the third is that, then if you say you're a pastor, you're at a much, much, much higher standard.
00:23:53.000 And don't take my word for it.
00:23:55.000 I'll give you multiple biblical examples.
00:23:56.000 The entire book of Titus is all about.
00:23:59.000 Church governance, and if you're in the administration of the holy, you're held to a higher standard.
00:24:03.000 Paul wrote extensively about those in the head of the church have different rules, different customs, different accountability measures.
00:24:09.000 If you are going to be in charge of an ecclesia or a body, the entire book of Leviticus is about if you are a priest, if you are in the handling of the holy, different rules, different customs, different clothes, different garments.
00:24:21.000 And so, throughout the scriptures, it is screaming at us that if you're a pastor, it's just you're held to a higher standard.
00:24:27.000 And let's go back to the Ten Commandments do not take the Lord's name in vain.
00:24:32.000 Now, that means verbally, we should never say that I don't like when people throw around, oh my, you know, I don't like it.
00:24:38.000 I believe that to be a sin.
00:24:39.000 But I believe it actually is deeper than that, and it's not reading into it exegetically.
00:24:43.000 The word is do not carry the Lord's name in vain, which you could interpret that in a lot of different ways.
00:24:50.000 It is not too far to say, and the original rabbis would say this back 2,000, 3,000 years ago, which is that if you are going to do evil in the name of God, that is one of the most, that is the unforgivable thing you do.
00:25:03.000 And if you really wrestle with that, it makes sense.
00:25:07.000 Because, for example, if every pastor was an adulterer, it would destroy the faith.
00:25:15.000 If every single pastor, think about it.
00:25:17.000 They pick one pastor out of a thousand and it makes us all look bad, right?
00:25:22.000 Just think about one.
00:25:23.000 They're able to misrepresent the entire body of Christ.
00:25:27.000 And so when you are in the role and you say, I am a pastor, which by the way, I never say I'm a pastor, I'm not a theologian, I'm a Christian, I'm a believer, and I love the word, okay?
00:25:37.000 But when someone says they're a pastor, we immediately need to hold them to higher account.
00:25:41.000 Because they're now telling you that I am a spokesperson, an interlocutor, a, dare I say, mediator for the scriptures.
00:25:49.000 Now, Christ is the ultimate mediator, but they say that I'm here to help you understand this.
00:25:55.000 And if they say something as blasphemous and as heretical, that, well, we don't do politics around here, we just do the gospel, then I believe you're going to be judged for that kind of heresy.
00:26:07.000 And I don't think you should only talk about politics, but you're trying to tell me God is indifferent to the 1 million abortions happening in this country every single year?
00:26:16.000 And that he wants his church just to kind of, you know, sit around and talk about how, you know, they read Live, Eat, and Pray or whatever that silly book is that, you know, more women would know than men or whatever.
00:26:27.000 Pray, Live, and Eat.
00:26:28.000 I always get it wrong, whatever it is.
00:26:29.000 I haven't read it.
00:26:30.000 I don't know about it.
00:26:31.000 And I look at some of these pastors, and I will say, I break them into different categories.
00:26:35.000 Some of them, you know, they obviously have a much bigger wardrobe budget than a book budget.
00:26:39.000 And I say, these guys have got to resign from the ministry.
00:26:41.000 They're not doing serious study or scholarship.
00:26:44.000 But some, I think, are afraid.
00:26:46.000 Mm hmm.
00:26:47.000 And I'll be honest, I've lost patience with them.
00:26:49.000 I had patience with them for like during COVID.
00:26:51.000 And now I said, if you are afraid as a pastor, go sell insurance.
00:26:56.000 Stop being a pastor.
00:26:58.000 You have no business.
00:27:00.000 Only God, you should.
00:27:01.000 And by the way, nothing against insurance salesmen.
00:27:03.000 We need you, please.
00:27:04.000 I mean, I love you guys to death, okay?
00:27:06.000 But I'm sure we have a couple here tonight that they aren't laughing at all at what I'm saying.
00:27:10.000 That's not funny.
00:27:11.000 That's not funny.
00:27:12.000 I'm just kidding.
00:27:13.000 But I'll throw it back to you, John, with this.
00:27:15.000 If you're going to step into the arena, Right now, at the very consequential times we're living in, the signs of the times all around us.
00:27:23.000 And you're going to say, I'm a pastor, and you want that because of the lifestyle or the Instagram clicks, or you think that it's like a cool job, I highly recommend you get out of the arena because you're doing more harm than good.
00:27:38.000 I talk about jobs and industries on this show all the time, but I didn't expect to find an entire skills trade community on TikTok plumbers, electricians, builders, and contractors sharing the work they do every day.
00:27:50.000 And it went way beyond tips and tricks, people were sharing their craft.
00:27:54.000 Connecting with local contractors and talking about how they were building their businesses and growing their teams.
00:27:59.000 It opened my eyes to how people in the trades are using TikTok to share their skills, make connections, and find new opportunities.
00:28:05.000 I remember thinking, this is exactly what we need more of people sharing what they know and creating opportunities for others.
00:28:11.000 And I never expected to find a community like this.
00:28:14.000 That's the thing about TikTok.
00:28:16.000 You start with something you know, and suddenly you're finding a whole new side of it that surprises you and leaves you wanting to know more.
00:28:22.000 Your next discovery is waiting for you on TikTok.
00:28:24.000 Learn more at TikTok.comslash discover more.
00:28:30.000 You know, I wonder as you, and just to kind of capitalize on that a little bit more, and I do agree with you.
00:28:34.000 I think when you read through scripture, there were times when God would call prophets to confront kings and would put a word in their mouth, and it wasn't an easy word to deliver.
00:28:46.000 And they weren't always applauded.
00:28:48.000 Most times they were either imprisoned or they were put to death.
00:28:52.000 They were hated.
00:28:53.000 And I think there's the fear of man has taken above really the fear of God.
00:28:58.000 And if you fear God, you don't have to fear anything.
00:29:01.000 I mean, that's really what it comes down to the fear of man.
00:29:03.000 The Bible says the fear of man brings a snare.
00:29:06.000 And I think it's important to have a greater reverence for God.
00:29:09.000 I also would like to add and maybe ask you this, Charlie.
00:29:13.000 Do you think it's possible?
00:29:14.000 Because as a pastor, either, and it works in a couple different ways.
00:29:18.000 You have people that say, hey, you are too political.
00:29:23.000 And then you have others that say, you're not political enough.
00:29:27.000 And so as a pastor, you're, you know, let's say you're ministering and you're doing all this, but people say, you don't say enough.
00:29:32.000 I'm saying stuff.
00:29:33.000 Like, you know, it's not every week I'm going to.
00:29:36.000 Like, open the Constitution to, I've opened the Bible, but if it comes up, you know, issues come up, we're going to talk about it.
00:29:43.000 We can't be afraid of it.
00:29:44.000 But I wonder, is it possible?
00:29:46.000 Do you think it's possible to be too one side?
00:29:49.000 Is there, where's the, this is my question.
00:29:51.000 And I really try to strike this.
00:29:52.000 And you who attend here, you know my heart on this.
00:29:55.000 I really try to strike the balance.
00:29:57.000 Try to find the balance.
00:29:59.000 John, if people say you aren't political enough, they're wrong.
00:30:02.000 Again.
00:30:03.000 Well, I feel better now.
00:30:04.000 Thank you.
00:30:04.000 I just, look, I mean, I felt like.
00:30:06.000 No, but I mean, look, I mean, having me buys you like, Two years, okay?
00:30:10.000 That's like you bought like two years of inventory.
00:30:15.000 But John, I mean, I watch you periodically.
00:30:18.000 You're always speaking very morally clearly.
00:30:20.000 I think Pastor Jack Hibbs does a great job of being biblical and being outspoken, which he does.
00:30:27.000 And I try to watch Jack.
00:30:29.000 I watch him almost every single week.
00:30:31.000 But yes, of course, you could become too political.
00:30:32.000 So you watch Jack every week and me like once in a while?
00:30:36.000 I'm sorry.
00:30:36.000 It's.
00:30:39.000 I'll try to wrap that up.
00:30:40.000 It's really cool.
00:30:41.000 I mean, I'm, you know.
00:30:42.000 There's only so much time in a day.
00:30:44.000 Sorry, go ahead.
00:30:45.000 You were saying?
00:30:47.000 I'm never going to be invited back, so now I'm really going to turn it up.
00:30:50.000 We love you, Jack.
00:30:53.000 That's right.
00:30:55.000 I, of course, I will say this.
00:30:57.000 Thanks, Mom.
00:30:58.000 I appreciate it.
00:31:05.000 I'm sorry, you were saying that.
00:31:06.000 It's okay.
00:31:07.000 I digress.
00:31:08.000 So, of course, you could become too political, and this is.
00:31:13.000 A friend of mine wrote a book, and I'm not going to say who he did because he has a great heart.
00:31:17.000 I met with him.
00:31:18.000 He's a well known theologian, and he became a friend through the book because I thought the book was totally off the mark.
00:31:24.000 He said, One of the biggest problems is this rise of Christian nationalism.
00:31:27.000 The way he defines it, I actually tend to agree if that was the term, which was like, Okay, the nation comes more important than Jesus. 0.91
00:31:35.000 I said, Fine.
00:31:36.000 But he thinks it's this widespread contagion.
00:31:39.000 I said, No, it's not.
00:31:42.000 You are way misdiagnosing.
00:31:46.000 There might be a fringe of the fringe.
00:31:48.000 And I will tell you again, I've spoken at churches across the country.
00:31:51.000 We have now had over 3,000 pastors pass through our training at TPUSA Faith.
00:31:57.000 I have not.
00:31:57.000 Praise God.
00:31:58.000 I have not come.
00:31:59.000 It's exciting.
00:31:59.000 It's amazing.
00:32:00.000 I have not come across a pastor that I believe is too political.
00:32:04.000 I have not.
00:32:05.000 And the evidence is this because I ask them, I say, tell me about the most important metric.
00:32:11.000 How many souls are going to heaven?
00:32:13.000 And they'll say, well, we've tripled our baptisms or quadrupled our attendance here in Easter.
00:32:18.000 Okay.
00:32:19.000 So, I mean, that, so I don't find it that way.
00:32:21.000 I will say, though, John, okay, I grant you, there might be a church somewhere, and again, I will say, if they are too political, how have I not heard of them?
00:32:30.000 I just, you know, how have they not invited me to speak, right?
00:32:34.000 Like, I just, I want to find these people.
00:32:36.000 Right.
00:32:36.000 I'm sure they exist somewhere.
00:32:38.000 The much bigger problem, though, John, is churches that are not political enough or not political at all.
00:32:44.000 And let's stop this word political.
00:32:46.000 I, I, I, let me fix my language.
00:32:48.000 They're not biblical enough or they're not biblical at all.
00:32:50.000 That's the true problem, right?
00:32:52.000 Yeah.
00:32:53.000 And so.
00:32:54.000 Look, there's a season for everything, as it says in Ecclesiastes, right?
00:32:58.000 So they're ramping things up in politics.
00:33:00.000 It makes sense to have me speak here, right?
00:33:02.000 But you've got to keep Jesus at the center.
00:33:04.000 And John, I've known you for a little while, and you always ask this question so well.
00:33:08.000 And God will give you wisdom and will give it to you generously, right?
00:33:11.000 And you're going through the scriptures, and it speaks clearly to a moral topic.
00:33:14.000 Hit it.
00:33:15.000 And hey, if there's a breaking news item and you feel led, then you just dive into it, right?
00:33:20.000 And that is what it means to lead the ecclesia and the public square.
00:33:24.000 Which is what church actually means in the original Greek.
00:33:27.000 But the biggest problem right now in American Christianity, let's not fool ourselves, are pastors that do not dive into the current events.
00:33:35.000 And better yet, they do not equip their flock to be able to read the news items and understand what the Bible says about trans surgeries?
00:33:46.000 What does the Bible say about immigration?
00:33:49.000 What does the Bible say about politicians?
00:33:52.000 What does it say about government?
00:33:54.000 Should we submit to government all the time?
00:33:55.000 Is there ever a right time to rebel against government?
00:33:58.000 And so, what I have found is if the church, the flock, are not getting that kind of guidance from their church, they will go get it from a secular authority.
00:34:10.000 And the tragedy of modern Christianity is you have millions of people going to church every single day, not being equipped with a biblical worldview.
00:34:19.000 See, a biblical worldview, the best way I could put it is it is the color of which you see everything.
00:34:26.000 So, once you get a biblical worldview taught by a good pastor like Pastor John, and so on and so forth, Is then you see a news item on CNN, like, well, that doesn't harmonize with my worldview.
00:34:39.000 And you're trained then in the ways, so you no longer need the pastor to guide you through every news item.
00:34:44.000 And that kind of training takes time, and you have to spend time in the scriptures, and you have to read the Bible every day, and you have to listen to Christian music, and you have to pray to God, and you develop that.
00:34:51.000 It's a muscle set, really. 0.69
00:34:53.000 And for new Christians, it might take a year, or two, or three, or four, or five, because you might still be looking at it through the secular old worldview.
00:35:00.000 And sometimes you need to kind of get those muscles back into action, because sometimes you might be falling into kind of a secular way of thinking.
00:35:07.000 But so many pastors will then do something even worse than that they'll take a secular New Age worldview and bring it into the church.
00:35:17.000 That's right.
00:35:18.000 So let me give you an example.
00:35:19.000 Yeah, please.
00:35:20.000 They'll come up and they'll say, I don't like Donald Trump because he's not nice.
00:35:27.000 And so then I say, find the word nice anywhere in the Bible, and I will concede the point.
00:35:32.000 It's nowhere in the 66 books of the Bible is the word nice.
00:35:36.000 The word nice is from the 1900s. 0.99
00:35:38.000 In Latin, it means stupid. 0.98
00:35:40.000 And so, you know, it really does. 1.00
00:35:42.000 It means ignorant, stupid, you know, and like, you know, oh, that person's really nice, you know, like, and how it metamorphosized into what we, you know, mean. 0.99
00:35:50.000 Now, you're so called to be kind, loving, compassionate, compassionate, long suffering, truthful. 1.00
00:35:56.000 All those things are correct.
00:35:57.000 But they will say that, you know, I can't vote for this person or I can't support this candidate.
00:36:02.000 I'm not here to make it all about Trump, but I'm just using an example, right?
00:36:05.000 Because, you know, I don't like the way that, you know, they say certain things.
00:36:09.000 Okay.
00:36:10.000 So, you're trying to tell me that somebody's tone bothers you so much that you do not want Roe versus Wade to be repealed.
00:36:17.000 Because if enough people thought the way you did in the 2016 presidential election with Hillary Clinton, we don't get Amy Coney Barrett, Kavanaugh, and Gorsuch and Roe versus Wade to still law the land, and we would not have hundreds of thousands of lives be saved.
00:36:29.000 So, I praise God we didn't think that way.
00:36:31.000 By the way, the embassy would never have been moved to Jerusalem and Israel.
00:36:35.000 We wouldn't have had relative peace.
00:36:37.000 We had a border for a short period of time.
00:36:38.000 I could go on and on and on for other examples, right?
00:36:41.000 Exactly.
00:36:41.000 And so I want to make sure that pastors are not bringing these kind of secular prisms into the pulpit.
00:36:47.000 I love that.
00:36:48.000 Great word, Charlie.
00:36:49.000 I love that.
00:36:50.000 It's excellent.
