00:01:53.000 And so I'm going to say something very, some people would consider this controversial, but I don't, which is the churches that refuse to recognize Satan and refuse to recognize the evil one and the one that is in rebellion to God, they are doing the work of Satan in the church.

00:04:37.000 What a time for the evil one to take you outside of the word of God, right?

00:04:47.000 And all of a sudden you're taking the selfie like, wait, was I reading John 1 or what was going on?

00:05:18.000 You know that when you pick it up, you could just close your eyes like, I know what this is, right?
00:05:22.000 Now with your phone, it's not the case because it's more than one thing, right?

00:05:30.000 So it's more than one thing.

00:05:40.000 I'm talking about every time when you get your chair time, and everyone should have at least 20 minutes a day of chair time of reading the word of the Lord.
00:05:45.000 Are you flipping open your iPhone where it's also your, you know, your texting, your Netflix watching, or is it something that has a special weight to it?
00:05:53.000 And then almost becomes a weapon, which is the word of the Lord is a sword against the evil one that you can put on that.
00:06:00.000 Third thing, okay, it's dedicated to just that, as I mentioned, which is it's totally and completely unique.
00:06:07.000 It is something that does not there.
00:06:09.000 So you have a relationship with the weight and the touch, and there is nothing else you will do with this Bible except connect to the Lord.

00:06:17.000 The fourth thing, which I love, is that it grows as you grow.
00:06:20.000 You ever see those Bibles with those highlights and those notes, the tears that you cry over those pages?

00:06:27.000 All of a sudden, you see how much you've been transformed by the word with the word.
00:06:32.000 You don't get that with an iPhone.

00:06:34.000 You ever try to highlight something in the Bible app?

00:06:38.000 Whoever made that should be totally fired, by the way.

00:07:45.000 Okay, so let's read out of the Bible, John 8, 44, which Jesus is talking to the Pharisees.
00:07:50.000 And he says, you are of your father, the devil, talking to the Pharisees.
00:07:54.000 Father, the devil.
00:07:56.000 Wow.
00:07:58.000 Because you are not able to listen to my word.
00:08:01.000 You see, Jesus is creating the dividing lines.
00:08:04.000 Christians don't like talking about this.
00:08:06.000 Christians don't like talking about how there's dividing lines, light versus dark, good versus evil.
00:08:11.000 Convenience, corporate Christianity likes to talk about this kind of John Lennon style of Christianity, right?
00:08:17.000 Which is like, there is no war, it's nothing but peace.
00:08:20.000 We all work in harmony.
00:08:22.000 And, you know, let's go do psychedelics or whatever it is, right?
00:08:24.000 Instead, it's like, no, these are dividing lines.
00:08:26.000 Like, you're of the devil, the Pharisees.
00:08:28.000 That's a big statement.
00:08:32.000 So he was a murderer from the beginning.
00:08:34.000 The devil, murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in truth because there is no truth in him.
00:08:40.000 When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, meaning not of the Lord.
00:08:45.000 For he is a liar and the father of it, the father of all lies.
00:08:49.000 So have you heard a lie in the last year?
00:08:51.000 Know that everyone's been telling the truth with the virus and masks, vaccines.

00:08:57.000 We are living in an era of truth.
00:08:59.000 So none of this is applicable, obviously.
00:09:03.000 Do you start to see where all of this flows from, right?
00:09:05.000 Where we are going to the top of the tributary.

00:09:09.000 The abortions, the vaccines, to the masks, to the lockdowns, the voter fraud, to the corruption, to the insider dealing, to the social media.
00:09:15.000 All of a sudden, we're getting to the real domain that this flows from.

00:09:24.000 And if I tell you the truth, why do you not believe me?

00:09:28.000 Therefore, you do not hear because you are not of God.

00:09:34.000 So let's go through.
00:09:35.000 So Satan is a liar.
00:09:37.000 That's number one.
00:09:39.000 And when we talk about lies, we have to understand that Jesus was not true.

00:09:45.000 He was the embodiment of truth.
00:09:47.000 Everything about him was true.
00:09:49.000 Number two is that Satan is a thief.
00:09:52.000 Is that Satan has never built anything?
00:09:55.000 Let me say that again.
00:09:56.000 Satan does not build.
00:09:57.000 He only destroys and he infiltrates.
00:10:00.000 He deconstructs and he obliterates.
00:10:03.000 So anything that is meaningful, he tries to destroy.
00:10:06.000 He is not a creator.
00:10:07.000 It's not in his nature.
00:10:08.000 In fact, Jesus says this in John 10, 10.
00:10:10.000 He says, the thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.
00:10:14.000 I have come that they might have life and to have it in full.
00:10:17.000 What Jesus is saying here is in John 10, 10, is that Satan by definition tries to steal from you.
00:10:24.000 This is why Satan hates when we call him out by name.
00:10:27.000 And when you think about a criminal, do criminals like it when all of a sudden we say, you're stealing that bank?
00:10:32.000 No, the deeds of darkness are always done under the cover, under the shadow.
00:10:38.000 As soon as we expose the child sex traffickers, as soon as we expose the people that are running guns, we expose the people that are doing murders.

00:10:45.000 They want anything but that's why they run from the police.
00:10:48.000 That's why they try to hide from any sort of exposure.
00:10:52.000 Satan's the same way.
00:10:53.000 Satan hates it when he's called out by name.

00:11:13.000 Number three is that Satan, and this is the best news.

00:11:18.000 You better believe there's good news about Satan.

00:11:29.000 In Job 1:6, it says that Satan was roaming the earth.

00:11:41.000 Certain cities have Satan more present than others.
00:11:45.000 Certain counties do.
00:11:46.000 I talked about San Francisco in the service earlier.
00:11:49.000 When I go to San Francisco, I feel a spiritual heaviness the moment I walk into that town.
00:11:53.000 A town that glorifies disobedience and rebellion to the Lord.
00:11:58.000 Now, that doesn't mean that Satan can't come anywhere.
00:12:00.000 That doesn't mean because Satan first and foremost goes where he's invited, obviously.
00:12:05.000 Satan goes where the vectors and the highways have been created.
00:12:07.000 We're going to talk about what those highways are.
00:12:09.000 Now, I'm now going to get, I didn't do this in the first service, so this is unique.
00:12:13.000 I'm now going to all of a sudden show you right now 10 ways that Satan corrupts our language, 10 ways that Satan phrases that we hear that we tolerate of how Satan is able to come straight into our everyday conversations.

00:12:28.000 Number one, how often have you heard this?
00:12:31.000 What I do doesn't really matter.
00:12:33.000 What I do doesn't make any sort of impact.
00:12:35.000 It doesn't matter how I eat.
00:12:37.000 It doesn't matter who I associate with.
00:12:39.000 This idea that your actions and your agency have no application to what you do, Satan loves that.
00:12:45.000 In fact, this is a saying that's quoted a lot, but it's worth quoting again: is that Satan's greatest trick is convincing you he does not exist.
00:12:54.000 He would love to have people believe that it's nothing more than a figment of your imagination.
00:12:59.000 Number two, how often do you hear this?
00:13:01.000 Who cares?
00:13:04.000 Who cares?
00:13:05.000 God cares.
00:13:07.000 Satan wants you to say, who cares?
00:13:10.000 Whatever, who cares?
00:13:11.000 Who cares whether or not you save yourself for marriage?

00:13:14.000 Like, it's not a big deal.
00:13:16.000 All of a sudden, if you're asking who cares, you're basically saying, there's no divine.
00:13:19.000 There's no one in charge.
00:13:21.000 Basically, through your language, our one, like two liners, right there, who cares?
00:13:25.000 What a wonderful corruption or incredible corruption of language that Satan was able to do.
00:13:30.000 Number three, what difference does it make?
00:13:34.000 We heard that most famously with Hillary Clinton, who was testifying in front of Congress with the four dead Americans in Benghazi.

00:13:43.000 What's the big deal, honestly?
00:13:45.000 Human life being lost?
00:13:46.000 It's only a million abortions a year.
00:13:49.000 Do you all of a sudden see how moral relativism becomes more acceptable with the language?
00:13:53.000 Number four, we're all dead in the long run.
00:13:56.000 It's not like we live forever.
00:13:58.000 Well, we actually do live forever as Christians.
00:14:00.000 But how often do you hear we're all dead in the long run?
00:14:03.000 Your actions don't really mean anything.
00:14:05.000 You're just a bunch of cells.
00:14:06.000 You know, it doesn't really, it doesn't apply for you today.
00:14:09.000 Number five, which is my favorite.
00:14:10.000 I'll spend a little bit of time here.
00:14:12.000 Well, you see, Charlie, it's my truth.
00:14:15.000 And I don't care about what you have to say.
00:14:18.000 This is my truth.
00:14:20.000 Now, I hear this all the time on college campuses.
00:14:23.000 And I always chuckle when these people come up and they say, Charlie, you don't know what it's like to be judged by the color of your skin as a white male.
00:14:32.000 It's like, you just judge me by the color of my skin.
00:14:35.000 Like literally in that one statement, you just said, I don't know what it's like, which is therefore judgment.
00:14:39.000 Anyway, the point is that this idea of my truth is everything the devil wants us to believe in.
00:14:47.000 The devil said, I will five times in Isaiah.
00:14:50.000 I will become the head of the earth.
00:14:51.000 I will become the one on most high.
00:14:53.000 I will govern all territory.
00:14:55.000 I will, When you start to say, I have my truth, all of a sudden you say that everyone can have their own direction to be able to govern their life.

00:15:05.000 Well, my truth is that I believe that there's no such thing as man versus woman.
00:15:10.000 That does not make it true, though.
00:15:12.000 Your own personal opinion is completely irrelevant to what is true in the world.
00:15:17.000 And we as Christians have tolerated this my truth nonsense for way too long.
00:15:22.000 Now, number six, this is a hard one for Christians.
00:15:25.000 I'm not going to spend this much time on it, but it's, if I'm forgiven, then why don't I just sin?
00:15:32.000 A lot of young people say this to me.
00:15:34.000 They say, well, Charlie, I'm forgiven.
00:15:35.000 So if I sin, I could just go kind of use my get out of jail free pass later and just like put it in.
00:15:40.000 That right there makes me question whether you really understand or realize your salvation.
00:15:46.000 This is not a get out of jail free card for you to be able to just kind of ravage the streets and prowl.
00:15:52.000 And then all of a sudden when you need it, you're like, yeah, I need to kind of, can you make bail today?
00:15:58.000 Like, that's not how salvation works.
00:16:00.000 It's a transformation and a renewal.
00:16:02.000 Let me be very clear.
00:16:04.000 It's you do not do good things to get saved.
00:16:08.000 You do righteous things because you are saved.
00:16:11.000 Once you are born new, then you want to push goodness into the world.
00:16:15.000 But that's a devil line, isn't it?
00:16:18.000 Oh, just sin because you say you're saved.
00:16:20.000 Well, all of a sudden, it's questioning whether or not you have that salvation altogether.
00:16:23.000 Number seven, God doesn't care about me.
00:16:26.000 Man, how could he let all this suffering happen into the world?
00:16:29.000 How could he let all this terrible and tragedy occur?
00:16:32.000 God doesn't care about me.
00:16:34.000 What a way to all of a sudden start to shrink and to minimalize the world around us.
00:16:39.000 Number eight, which is a very important one, Satan loves victims.
00:16:45.000 Loves it when you start feeling sorry for yourself.
00:16:48.000 He is the author and the master of your pity party.
00:16:52.000 The next time all of a sudden you're bitter, he's the one that designed that whole feeling in you.
00:16:56.000 The next time you're like, I'm a victim.
00:16:58.000 I deserve something for how awful of a life I've had.
00:17:01.000 I deserve something because someone said something bad to me.
00:17:04.000 Or I'm a certain skin color.
00:17:05.000 I deserve something because of that.

00:17:09.000 Instead, you're born new in Jesus Christ and you're a victor over your sin, not a perpetual focusing on this victimhood mentality that tears people against each other.

00:19:29.000 You didn't know in 1991, this according to Pew Research, 71% of all American churches believed the word of the Lord, the Bible, was inerrant and perfect.

00:19:42.000 You want to know why we have the abortion, the vaccine, the school closure, all the stuff we've talked about.
00:19:48.000 Why are all our political issues coming?
00:19:50.000 The church won't do anything.

00:21:50.000 And specifically, the two books that he hates the most, Leanne and I were just talking about this, are Genesis and Revelation.

00:21:58.000 Genesis describes his devices, and Revelation describes his doom.
00:22:02.000 And right there in Genesis 3, we see how the devil works.
00:22:05.000 We see exactly what he does, turning people against each other, sowing doubt, trying to question God's commands, introducing this kind of rebellion against God.

00:22:17.000 Some people infer a lot more about Satan than we really know.
00:22:20.000 And not necessarily all those inferences are outside of what the word of the Lord says.

00:22:25.000 Here's what we do know: we know that he was an angel that rebelled from the Lord, and the earth is his kingdom.

00:22:32.000 That's what we know.
00:22:32.000 Other pastors go on further about some sort of long kind of idea of this discourse between Lucifer and God.
00:22:39.000 That's debated.
00:22:40.000 I'll let other people get into that.
00:22:42.000 Here's what we know: is that Jesus Christ said that he was the prince of this world.
00:22:48.000 In fact, he was the God of this world.
00:22:50.000 So now let's go back into our Bibles, right?
00:22:53.000 And let's see where the Savior of the world actually confronted the devil himself.
00:22:58.000 And we all know this story, but let's really pick this apart and let's go deeper than just kind of like, oh, yeah, Jesus Christ resists a temptation.
00:23:04.000 Now, we have to remember that Jesus, the divine, became human, right?
00:23:08.000 So he had to go through the exact same things that we went through.
00:23:11.000 So what's the context of this in Matthew 4?
00:23:14.000 Well, right before Matthew 4, it's kind of a crescendo part.
00:23:17.000 It's his anointing.
00:23:18.000 And so all of you guys at Awakened Conference yesterday, it's amazing, right?
00:23:23.000 Some of you might have felt that that was your anointing, right?
00:23:26.000 And then all of a sudden you go back home, maybe at 11 o'clock, maybe this morning.
00:23:30.000 All of a sudden, these thoughts start to creep in.
00:23:32.000 Man, what I do, what I do doesn't really matter.
00:23:35.000 No one cares about me.
00:23:37.000 All of a sudden, those 10 things start to seep in.
00:23:40.000 Were those Bible verses Jürgen saying actually true?
00:23:44.000 Was the Bible actually the word of God?
00:23:45.000 Boom, right back in there.
00:23:47.000 So, what Matthew 4 is telling us is Jesus was baptized in Matthew 3 and anointed, and then right after that, temptation comes.
00:23:54.000 So, this message right here is perfect timing, right?
00:23:56.000 You have the conference, you get built up, you get sent out in the world, and all of a sudden that's where the temptation is going to start seeping.

00:24:04.000 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.
00:24:09.000 After fasting for 40 days and 40 nights, he was hungry.
00:24:12.000 Okay, let me stop here.
00:24:13.000 So, I understood first of all with 40 days.
00:24:16.000 So, Noah endured the flood for 40 days.
00:24:19.000 Moses fasted for 40 days.
00:24:20.000 Elijah fasted for 40 days.
00:24:21.000 Israelites wandered 40 years.
00:24:23.000 This number 40 is repetitious about, you know, it's a season of trusting the Lord and seeing his deliverance.
00:24:30.000 Now, let me just say this: anyone who fasts for more than an afternoon, you have some sort of supernatural power I do not have, okay?
00:24:38.000 So, if I miss a meal, an energy bar, I'm like, what is this?
00:24:43.000 Get out of here.
00:24:44.000 I mean, I mean, I meet these people that fast.
00:24:46.000 They're like, yeah, actually, I know a guy from Oklahoma fasts like 30 days.
00:24:50.000 I'm like, I don't even understand, it's a different stratosphere.

00:24:54.000 I know you guys have people that fast here, and I know you do.
00:24:57.000 And so, if, again, Mikey knows this, if I don't get like my energy bar right at the time I need it while I'm hosting my podcast or radio show, I'm like, what is going on here?

00:25:09.000 Like mobilization of armed forces, go find the people, someone's not doing their job, scorched earth, right?
00:25:15.000 Roll in the tanks, full accountability culture, right?

00:25:19.000 And so, 40 days and 40 nights, like I can't even just imagine.
00:25:24.000 Now, it says here in the scriptures that he was hungry.
00:25:26.000 That's important because after, you guys know this, after three, four days of fasting, you actually set into a state where you no longer feel hunger, right?
00:25:34.000 But when you start feeling hunger again, you're literally starving to death, right?
00:25:38.000 So, that's where Jesus was at.
00:25:39.000 He was at the point where after it set in, where he was not feeling hunger anymore, he started being hungry again.
00:25:46.000 That's where he was literally starving to death.
00:25:48.000 What does that tell us?
00:25:49.000 The devil, Satan, the serpent, is going to attack you when you're most vulnerable.
00:25:53.000 He's going to attack you when you're at your weakest, right?
00:25:56.000 So, for me, that's after red-eye flights, right?
00:25:58.000 Whoever invented this whole thing, they should be put in prison, okay?
00:26:02.000 And I say that jokingly, okay?
00:26:04.000 But it's like a red-eye flight for me is the worst thing.
00:26:07.000 Maybe you can sympathize.
00:26:08.000 Some people like it.
00:26:09.000 Sure.
00:26:10.000 It's like you're two hours of sleep, nothing but masks on you, people breathing.

00:26:15.000 And then you got to land and you got to be ready to go, right?

00:26:18.000 And so that's when all of a sudden Satan comes in and all these questions.
00:26:22.000 What you're about to do today doesn't really matter, right?
00:26:24.000 All of a sudden, it wears you down when you're at your most vulnerable.
00:26:26.000 And all of you guys know that moment.
00:26:28.000 And it might not be a physical vulnerability, by the way.
00:26:30.000 It might be that you slept in for 14 hours and you're just in the best shape of your life, but it might be that you are just tired of being around the people you're around.
00:26:38.000 could be other types of vulnerability and other types of weaknesses.
00:26:41.000 The scriptures continue by saying the tempter came to him and said, if you are the son of God, tell these stones to become bread, mocking him.
00:26:49.000 The devil is a mocker.
00:26:50.000 Now, the devil was missing one of his greatest tricks against Jesus.
00:26:54.000 One of his greatest tricks he was not able to use against Jesus, which is hold one's sin against them.
00:27:01.000 Devil wasn't able to do that.
00:27:02.000 It's one of devil's greatest tricks, right?
00:27:04.000 The devil will always stay in your ear about ways you've fallen short.
00:27:08.000 All of us have friends that like this, right?
00:27:10.000 You screwed up in fourth grade and you spilled orange juice over your classmate and you still see this person.
00:27:15.000 You're like, I remember in fourth grade when you spilled orange juice, loser, right?
00:27:20.000 You all know that person.
00:27:21.000 And they're constantly holding your faults and your missteps against you.
00:27:25.000 The devil didn't have his best trick because Jesus never did anything wrong.
00:27:28.000 He lived the perfect life.
00:27:29.000 So instead, he resorted to his second best trick, which is mocking and then temptation of ruling.
00:27:35.000 So come on, you say you're the son of God, turn these stones to bread.
00:27:38.000 He was trying to agitate him.
00:27:39.000 Like you're trying to say you're such a tough guy.
00:27:41.000 Come on, punch me right here in the face.
00:27:43.000 Trying to provoke Jesus to try to get him and tempt him to engage on the devil's terms.
00:27:48.000 You see, but Jesus refused to even engage on Satan's terms at all whatsoever.
00:27:53.000 Then the devil took him to the holy city, Jerusalem, and had him stand at the highest point of the temple.
00:27:58.000 And he says, come on, if you're the son of God, throw yourself down for it is written.
00:28:03.000 And this is where it gets interesting.
00:28:05.000 Satan is quoting scripture.
00:28:07.000 I want you to think about that.
00:28:09.000 He is quoting this perfect book.
00:28:11.000 He's trying to use scripture against him.
00:28:13.000 Come on, you say you're so powerful.
00:28:15.000 I know your book too.
00:28:17.000 And that's why you have to be alert and filled with the Holy Spirit, where all of a sudden you might have false prophets.
00:28:22.000 You might have people that are up that are trying to all of a sudden use things that you've memorized, committed to memory, to try to pursue worldly things.
00:28:28.000 Where all of a sudden people say, you know what?
00:28:30.000 Jesus is all about love.
00:28:32.000 Then why wouldn't you say that pedophilia is okay?
00:28:34.000 Now that might sound extreme.
00:28:36.000 That argument is coming soon.

00:28:38.000 In fact, it's coming here to California.
00:28:40.000 That's exactly what's happening here, is that Satan was trying to use Jesus' own literacy with the scriptures against him.
00:28:46.000 He will command his angels concerning you, so they will lift you up in their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.

00:28:52.000 It is also written, do not put the Lord your God to the test.
00:28:55.000 Jesus is laying it down like, you don't want this fight.
00:28:58.000 We are going to crush you is what Jesus is saying.

00:29:03.000 I'm going to win and you're going to lose.
00:29:05.000 But the devil, like every single person that has the spirit of the devil on earth, they never know when to stop.
00:29:12.000 They never know when to, they do not have the fruit of the spirit of self-control constantly pushing, constantly trying to conquer, trying to do more than they actually can do.
00:29:20.000 Jesus answered him, do not put your Lord to the test.
00:29:23.000 Again, the devil took him to another mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor.
00:29:28.000 And this I will give to you if you will bow down and worship me.
00:29:31.000 Now, Jesus rebukes him in the next verse, but do you notice what's not here in Matthew 4, 1 through 11?
00:29:38.000 Jesus never questions what Satan says.
00:29:41.000 He never says what Satan is saying is untrue.
00:29:43.000 He's like, you know what?
00:29:44.000 You do run this earth.
00:29:45.000 This is your kingdom.
00:29:47.000 Jesus never says, no, no, no, no.
00:29:49.000 This is mine, not yours.
00:29:51.000 Jesus basically is like, you know what?
00:29:54.000 This is your enemy-occupied territory.
00:29:57.000 And so Jesus in human form was going through the same sort of temptation that we go through every single day.
00:30:02.000 So you know what Satan was doing?
00:30:03.000 World of all their splendor.

00:30:07.000 I'll put you in a Netflix series.
00:30:09.000 I'll make you a billionaire.
00:30:12.000 You'll get a private jet and a yacht.
00:30:14.000 People will love you.
00:30:15.000 You'll get 5 million Instagram followers.
00:30:18.000 You'll have songs written about you.
00:30:20.000 How about statues as well?
00:30:22.000 You can go to space.
00:30:23.000 What is it with these like billionaires' weird pathological focus of going?
00:30:26.000 It's really creepy, honestly.
00:30:28.000 I think I know what it is.
00:30:29.000 It's because they do not believe in the divine, so they themselves want to become divine.
00:30:33.000 So the only thing they have not yet controlled and conquered is the heavens, and they're never going to control the heavens or the cosmos.

00:30:40.000 I'm sure he's a good guy or whatever, but there's this weird push to always trying to conquer things that have not yet been conquered.
00:30:47.000 No, they do not understand limitations on human beings.
00:30:51.000 And Jesus said to him, and every single person can commit this to memory.
00:30:55.000 Then we're going to get into the application of all these texts.

00:31:01.000 For it is written, worship the Lord your God and serve him only.

00:31:22.000 Because the devil was worn out and the devil's like, fine, I'm going to go, you know, to Persia.

00:31:57.000 So now let's talk about how does Satan actually get penetration in your mind?

00:32:04.000 Now, the scriptures promise us a sound mind, but we have to understand that sometimes we make the entry points.
00:32:11.000 We make the ability for Satan to take, we do his work for him.
00:32:15.000 In fact, we build the on-ramps for him sometimes.
00:32:18.000 We're basically like, you know what?
00:32:20.000 Let me construct a special exit where you can just come straight into my consciousness.
00:32:24.000 And sometimes we do this without realizing it.
00:32:27.000 And so, first, we must realize what the scriptures tell us about how Satan acts.
00:32:32.000 Be alert and of sober mind.
00:32:33.000 Alert.
00:32:34.000 I feel as if this church is an alert church.
00:32:37.000 You're aware of what's happening in your school boards.
00:32:39.000 You're aware of what's happening with all the things around you.
00:32:42.000 An alert church is a church that is contesting for the kingdom.
00:32:45.000 Now, alert and of sober mind.
00:32:48.000 The sober mind is a different, you know, different message for a different time.
00:32:51.000 But your enemy, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
00:32:59.000 Resist him, standing firm in faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
00:33:06.000 Don't feel sorry for yourself if Satan's harassing you.
00:33:09.000 If your fellow believers don't always talk about it, they also are harassed at some point.
00:33:14.000 They're also hearing those negative thoughts, those 10 things that are happening, and they're constantly under attack.
00:33:20.000 So, how does Satan get penetration into your mind?
00:33:22.000 There are three ways.
00:33:23.000 This is what the Bible tells us.
00:33:25.000 Both in James and in Matthew, it was written by James and said by Jesus, was this idea that I never thought about very much.
00:33:33.000 And then a really, really wise pastor walked me through the significance of how we create these vectors for Satan to come into our own life, which is number one, is by vows.
00:33:44.000 That's what Satan did.
00:33:45.000 I will, Five times.
00:33:49.000 Now, vows, earthly vows, they're of the world.
00:33:53.000 But we do this all the time.
00:33:54.000 I'm never going to take a drink again.
00:33:56.000 I'm not going to visit this website.
00:33:58.000 I'm stronger than this.
00:33:59.000 I'm going to stop gossiping.
00:34:00.000 And how many times do we fall short?
00:34:02.000 All the time.
00:34:03.000 Do you know why?
00:34:04.000 As soon as we write that vow, and Jesus said, let your yes be yes and your no be no.
00:34:08.000 And then the rest come through Jesus Christ.
00:34:10.000 Why is that?
00:34:11.000 As soon as you say that, Satan's like, ah, now I got a reference point to harass you with.
00:34:16.000 You think you're so strong?
00:34:18.000 You think you can endure it?
00:34:19.000 I'm going to taunt you with this.
00:34:20.000 You see?
00:34:21.000 You wrote right here that you're not going to go to this website.
00:34:24.000 You wrote right here that you're not going to go into credit card debt.
00:34:26.000 You wrote right here that you're like, I'm going to harass you with it.
00:34:29.000 And most times we fail.
00:34:30.000 Because the way we're actually instructed to do it is the exact opposite.
00:34:34.000 It's not that I will, It's Jesus did.
00:34:38.000 Jesus is.
00:34:39.000 And he is the chairman of the board of my life.
00:34:41.000 And he will protect you at that moment.

00:34:46.000 Every person in this room will lose on your own against Satan.

00:34:53.000 I'm not telling you you have to fight this war.
00:34:54.000 We're in the midst of this war, and some of us are trying to fight it for ourselves, right?
00:34:58.000 And sometimes we go to earthly means to do this, right?
00:35:00.000 We go to yoga class.
00:35:02.000 We try like all these different substances.
00:35:04.000 All I'm saying is, you keep on going into the earth to try to defeat the king of the earth, which is Satan, you're going to lose.
00:35:11.000 So instead, you just got to step out of the way and you just got to worship and say, Jesus, can you just take care of this, please?
00:35:16.000 Can you just come in here and slay this for me and take care of this for me and win this battle for me?
00:35:22.000 That's what you got to do.

00:37:14.000 The point is that, where do you think you get self-control from?
00:37:17.000 It's a fruit of the Spirit.
00:37:19.000 We don't talk about that one as much, right?

00:37:50.000 Make your environment reflective of the type of worship you want to engage in.
00:37:54.000 Now, psychology tells us this, and you should all do this tonight.
00:37:58.000 Write down the five people you spend the most time with, because that's who you are.
00:38:02.000 You become the moving average of the five people you spend the most time with.
00:38:07.000 Do you notice you start saying one-liners the kind of the five people you start spending time with?
00:38:11.000 You notice you kind of start like dressing.
00:38:13.000 Yeah, I kind of see that around here at this church.

00:38:58.000 And so you ask yourself, am I spending people, am I around gossipers?

00:39:04.000 Am I around people that are constantly trying to bring down others?
00:39:06.000 Am I around people that are always telling half-truths, late to meetings, kind of sending text messages that are always on the end?
00:39:13.000 Am I around people that are kind of talking about superficial material stuff?
00:39:17.000 Am I around people that are kind of putting points on the board of how rich they are, how big their, you know, how fast their cars are, how many vacations they take, or talking about deeper and more meaningful things?

00:39:32.000 Your environment is one of the ways that Satan finds an on-ramp.
00:39:35.000 And including your music, too.
00:39:37.000 For me, in the work that I do, I've cut out almost all secular music.
00:39:41.000 And by the way, I'm not saying that if you listen to secular music, you're a bad person.
00:39:44.000 But for me, music is one of the ways that I really am able to kind of get incantations of truth.
00:39:49.000 I'm like, you know what?
00:39:50.000 I just need to listen to praise music and scripture music.
00:39:52.000 Too much going on.
00:39:54.000 I'm not going to be able to handle all this other stuff.
00:39:55.000 And for young people in particular, that's important.
00:39:57.000 Same thing for, and we all know this.
00:39:59.000 There's a television show, a movie, a comedian, a YouTube series that all of us could identify right now that is an on-ramp for Satan.
00:40:08.000 All of us.
00:40:09.000 We could all pick one, right?
00:40:10.000 One of those things where all of a sudden you're like, yeah, you know, that puts me in kind of a little bit of a state of disobedience to the Lord.
00:40:16.000 And that's not to say you can't have any fun.
00:40:18.000 That's not to say that you have to always just kind of shield yourself at all times from everything always out there.
00:40:22.000 But just ask God for wisdom and he'll give it to you generously.
00:40:25.000 In James 1, 5.
00:40:26.000 But you know exactly those types of things that you have to remove from your life for those on-ramps for Satan.
00:40:32.000 The third thing, and this is an important one, which I think that this church does a good job of, but the general American corporate Christianity does not do a good enough job of because they're afraid people are just going to walk out of, which is Satan loves to seize on unrepentant sin, especially sexual sin and sin of the flesh, which is sins of the flesh is where Satan is the master, right?
00:40:55.000 Where it be sins of things you can touch and you can feel.
00:40:59.000 And remember, Satan loves to hold that against you, right?
00:41:02.000 The serpent in the grass loves to say, like, man, your failure time and time again shows that you might as well just give it up and just get drunk every single night.
00:41:13.000 He wants to bring you down by how awful and terrible that you believe you are.
00:41:19.000 But you know what's amazing?
00:41:20.000 Is that once Jesus Christ forgives your sins at that moment, he will never mention that sin to you again.
00:41:26.000 He will never hold that against you.
00:41:28.000 He will never say that you are anything but a son of his and that you are born into eternity.
00:41:34.000 It is wiped clean.
00:41:37.000 And so the devil isn't like that.
00:41:39.000 The devil will hold that fourth-grade blunder of spilling orange juice on your friend against you.
00:41:44.000 That becomes your identity.
00:41:46.000 And you'll never get past that.
00:41:48.000 And he uses it as a means of control as a way to keep you in a perpetual open-air prison sentence.
00:41:56.000 And so in 1,000 times in the Old Testament is repentance.
00:41:59.000 1,000 times.
00:42:02.000 I think that the church has to get more serious about repentance.
00:42:05.000 I think that we have to get more serious about repenting our own sin and things we've done wrong.
00:42:09.000 It doesn't have to be done publicly, but repentance is some of the most, it's so freeing and it's liberating and it closes off the on-ramps.
00:42:18.000 Because remember, Satan is the master of lies.
00:42:21.000 Are you lying to yourself about a sin that you're committing?
00:42:24.000 Are you lying to yourself about a pattern that you're in that you know deep down is not good for you, but then all of a sudden you kind of do the justification thing?
00:42:32.000 Yeah, I mean, it's fine that I get drunk every single night.
00:42:35.000 I provide for the family and it's whatever, right?
00:42:37.000 It's not a big deal.
00:42:38.000 It's okay that I swear all the time or I gossip because I'm a good person.
00:42:42.000 Are you kind of in that moral justification range?
00:42:44.000 You're like, God, man, I need your mercy and your grace.
00:42:47.000 I'm not even close to where I need to be right now.
00:42:49.000 Satan doesn't like that.
00:42:50.000 As soon as you repent, you are building a wall that makes it harder for Satan to take sees of your mind and to capture where you are.
00:43:01.000 So now let's talk about, in closing, I'm going to go a little over time, just a little bit, not a lot.
00:43:07.000 How do we counter it?
00:43:08.000 What can we do?
00:43:08.000 So those are three ways Satan takes hold of our mind in this spiritual war.
00:43:12.000 And what else can we do to actually be able to achieve a peace of mind and a sound mind?
00:43:20.000 And I want to just reiterate our goal.
00:43:22.000 Then the devil left him.
00:43:24.000 How many of you right now would love to have that happen for you right now?
00:43:27.000 I'm sure there are seasons where we feel more at peace than others.
00:43:33.000 There's seasons, because that Satan is not constant, right?
00:43:36.000 But God is constant.
00:43:38.000 So a couple things of how we can counter it, which is, number one, is prayer.
00:43:42.000 This church is a great prayer church.
00:43:44.000 In fact, I want to compliment you and encourage you.
00:43:47.000 You are a phenomenal prayer church, and you need to do more of it and continue to do what you're doing.
00:43:52.000 Because, again, if we do not get in this position of vulnerable prayer, of letting the Lord just capture who you are and your spirit, then we're always going to be bonded to the earth.
00:44:03.000 Now, my favorite prayer in the entire Bible is three words.
00:44:08.000 It was said by one of the women that Jesus healed, and it was very simple.
00:44:12.000 Lord, help me.
00:44:14.000 Lord, help me.
00:44:14.000 That's it.
00:44:16.000 Now, let me be very clear.
00:44:17.000 Your prayers must be sincere.
00:44:19.000 They do not have to be sophisticated.
00:44:23.000 You do not have to write a doctoral thesis submitted to Stanford with citations and footnotes of all the different biblical citations.
00:44:32.000 It has to be just, Lord, help me.
00:44:34.000 Lord, help me.
00:44:35.000 And that sort of sincere, broken down prayer is exactly one of the ways that we counter this onslaught of spiritual warfare.
00:44:44.000 Number two is dig into the word and know it is the word of God.
00:44:48.000 And this right here is a USB drive waiting to be inputted and downloaded into your operating system to protect you from the ransomware and malware attacks against the enemy.
00:45:02.000 It's waiting for you.
00:45:03.000 It says, please download it.
00:45:05.000 Please.
00:45:06.000 It's waiting for you just to download it.
00:45:08.000 Because as soon as you do, you start memorizing scripture.
00:45:11.000 You're filled with the word.
00:45:12.000 All of a sudden, you're like, oh, I know what's happening here.
00:45:14.000 You start to understand the terrain of which this battle is being fought on.
00:45:18.000 Then number three, which is very, very important, which is James 4, 7, submit yourselves then to God and resist the devil and he will flee from you.
00:45:27.000 Not that he will walk away.
00:45:29.000 Not that he'll just kind of like, okay, whatever.
00:45:31.000 Flee.
00:45:31.000 Whoa, when you flee, you're in danger.
00:45:33.000 That means submission to the Lord, obedience to his commands.
00:45:36.000 He flees and he runs.
00:45:38.000 Adios, Satan.
00:45:39.000 Have a nice day.
00:45:40.000 Like, gets out.
00:45:41.000 Now, understand, you are not, again, you are not going to be able to do this, but submission and obedience to the Lord.
00:45:47.000 Follow his commands.
00:45:48.000 You are going to fall short.
00:45:50.000 But here's my one challenge to you.
00:45:51.000 In the next day or two days, can you try your best?
00:45:55.000 And you're going to fail at this.
00:45:56.000 We all will, to try to make your sins accidental sins.
00:46:00.000 To try to make your sins missteps, not deliberate, pre-planned and purchased sins.
00:46:05.000 What do I mean by that?
00:46:06.000 Like, for example, if you all of a sudden have your buddies together and you're like, hey, we're going to go on a trip.
00:46:11.000 We're going to visit a strip club.
00:46:13.000 We're going to get really drunk and you plan it out.
00:46:15.000 That is pre-planned.
00:46:16.000 That is just like, but all of a sudden, if you're doing something and you have a thought and you missed up, those are accidental.
00:46:21.000 Those are understandable.
00:46:22.000 The point is don't build those on-ramps.
00:46:24.000 Try your best to be obedient to the Lord in every single capacity.
00:46:29.000 And then the last thing is this, which is the best news of all.
00:46:31.000 And then I'm going to talk about an earthly example of what we need to do right here in this moment, which is, despite what the devil might be telling you, despite what those thoughts might be weighing down on you, we are promised victory.
00:46:45.000 This is why Satan hates the book of Revelation.
00:46:47.000 He will be thrown into the lake of fire and he will burn forever.
00:46:51.000 That's his destiny.
00:46:52.000 The harasser, the tormentor, the liar, the serpent, the mocker, he will be thrown into the lake of fire.
00:46:59.000 That battle is over and it is done.
00:47:01.000 We are simply just temporary physical manifestations of that spiritual war.
00:47:05.000 The scriptures say very clearly that, but the Lord is faithful and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.
00:47:13.000 It says in John 16, 33, I have told you these things that you may have peace.
00:47:18.000 But then all of a sudden, there's a part of the scriptures that we don't talk about.
00:47:22.000 In this world, you will have trouble.
00:47:28.000 Jesus is saying, You're going to have trouble.
00:47:30.000 If you think it's unique that you're being harassed right now by the evil one, it's not unique.
00:47:34.000 He said you're going to have trouble.
00:47:35.000 But then Jesus says, But take heart, I have overcome the world.
00:47:39.000 Take heart.
00:47:40.000 I've overcome the current governor, mayor, president of this earth that's called, say, I've overcome all of that.
00:47:49.000 And now I'm going to close on what we have to do right now.
00:47:52.000 Because we not just have to pray and repent and read, but we have to be aggressive and offensive to launch a counteroffensive against what Satan has done here.
00:48:02.000 And some people here today might say, Charlie, this message doesn't really apply to me.
00:48:06.000 Charlie, I don't quite get it.
00:48:07.000 And you know what?
00:48:08.000 Maybe it's because you've already been doing all these things and you've been walking in obedience.
00:48:12.000 Or maybe you're not taking enough terrain and Satan doesn't deem you a threat.
00:48:16.000 Not every person is harassed equally.
00:48:19.000 Not every person is harassed equally because he's got limited resources.
00:48:22.000 And the people that are harassed the most are the ones that are taking the most ground.
00:48:26.000 If you're not harassed, maybe you've mastered all this and I got a lot to learn from you.
00:48:30.000 Or maybe this is a reason for you to get more in the fight and go take more terrain from the enemy.
00:48:41.000 So let me close with this.
00:48:43.000 Only two minutes over time.
00:48:44.000 Let me close with this.
00:48:46.000 The type of counteroffensive that we need to launch can best be metaphorically depicted in World War II at a certain moment.
00:48:55.000 World War II, I believe, was one of our nation's greatest moments where we sent hundreds of thousands of our own citizens to never fight on our own land or our own soil, but for the betterment and for the good of the world and for other nations.
00:49:10.000 Outside of Pearl Harbor, no part of World War II was fought on our own shores, and that was preempted against us.
00:49:16.000 And so, after D-Day, allied forces of the French and the British, Canadians, and Americans, we were on the march.
00:49:23.000 We were liberating French town after French town.
00:49:26.000 I'm sure this church has felt on the march at some time, right?
00:49:28.000 Building auditoriums.
00:49:30.000 Look around you, how blessed you are.
00:49:32.000 It's unbelievable.
00:49:34.000 Winning souls for Christ.
00:49:36.000 You have force equals mass times acceleration is momentum, right?
00:49:40.000 Where you have mass and you are moving fast.
00:49:42.000 We all know a season where we have momentum.
00:49:44.000 That's what was happening right after we won on D-Day.
00:49:48.000 The bad guys, the National Socialist Worker Party, they were on defense.
00:49:51.000 They were losing town after town after town after town.
00:49:54.000 In fact, it looked as if victory was inevitable.
00:49:56.000 We are heading into the winter.
00:49:58.000 It looked like no way are they not going to wave the surrender flag.
00:50:01.000 George Patton was so confident of this, he went to Paris just to kind of go enjoy Paris because we liberated Paris.
00:50:08.000 But evil hates it when they get put on defense.
00:50:11.000 Evil, as soon as there's going to be a moment where all of a sudden the Allied forces thought they were going to enjoy Christmas.
00:50:16.000 Allied forces thought they were going to be able to enjoy Belgium and northeast France and just have a nice little chance to take a breath and maybe not have to lose their friends or lose their loved ones.
00:50:28.000 But then the most unexpected, all-out counteroffensive from the enemy towards the good guys occurred in the Ardennes forest, which is known as the Battle of the Bulge.
00:50:41.000 Outnumbered 10 to 1.
00:50:43.000 Full out Blitzkrieg, the leader, who I refuse to say his evil name of the National Socialist Workers' Party, who might be the closest to the devil incarnate that we can look at in the next hundred years, who basically satisfied every single one of those things that executed a plan and methodical mass and mechanized murder of a certain type of people and also God's chosen people, hated it when he got put on defense.

00:51:08.000 He said, that's it.
00:51:09.000 I'm going to try to take every single one of them down with me.
00:51:11.000 His generals thought he was nuts.
00:51:13.000 Now, remember, a sound mind is not something that is a characteristic of Satan.
00:51:16.000 He said, I don't care.
00:51:17.000 Go after the Ardennes.
00:51:18.000 We're going to go retake the port city in Belgium.
00:51:20.000 We're going to turn the course of the war.
00:51:22.000 They will never take Germany.
00:51:23.000 American forces were put on defense.
00:51:25.000 They were put on their heels.
00:51:26.000 I'm sure a lot of you feel this way right now.
00:51:27.000 Where all of a sudden it's under attack, under attack.
00:51:29.000 And even though you know you're going to win, it's really awful.
00:51:33.000 So they knew they were going to win.
00:51:34.000 They knew that it wasn't a matter of whether or not victory was there.
00:51:37.000 It was, why are you harassing me?
00:51:38.000 Why are you killing my friends?
00:51:40.000 Why are all of a sudden you're bombing us?
00:51:41.000 And they said, we're not sure what's going to happen.
00:51:43.000 We just want to win this war because we know victory is inevitable, but it feels like hell.
00:51:49.000 It was cloudy, therefore, no ability to bomb the enemy forces was possible.
00:51:53.000 And it was an awful weeks-long struggle.
00:51:57.000 And then, when all of a sudden hope was kind of lost of just kind of this trench warfare setting in, and the Germans were picking off Allied forces, they woke up one day and it was one of the clearest days you could possibly imagine.
00:52:08.000 And the Allied forces bombers couldn't believe their eyes.
00:52:11.000 For 45 miles, they saw every single German tank, artillery, piece of equipment, and troop lined up on a road for 45 miles, totally and completely exposed.
00:52:24.000 And that cloudiness was broke through, and the Allied forces destroyed almost every single piece of German machinery.
00:52:30.000 And out of there broke exactly what you are about to experience because they knew victory was inevitable and they were crushed and they were defeated.
00:52:38.000 What I'm getting at right now is that the enemy is always going to try to be launched in these all-out campaigns, but victory is ours.
00:52:45.000 We are promised that of a sound mind.
00:52:47.000 We are promised that in the scriptures that we are born new.
00:52:50.000 Remember, he is a liar.
00:52:51.000 He is deceitful.
00:52:52.000 He is treacherous.
00:52:53.000 He's a serpent.
00:52:54.000 He might be the king of this world, but he will be thrown into the lake of fire.
00:52:58.000 If we are serious about saving America and serious about saving our republic, we must now launch that counteroffensive against that long 45-mile train of evil forces, and we are going to win.
