00:00:00.000Hey everybody, it's And the Charlie Kirk Show.
00:00:01.000Matt Boyle joins us to recap the latest happening out of Congress.
00:00:06.000And Senator Josh Hawley, we talked about the NCAA, we talked about pay-for-play, and we also talk about Biden's request for more money for the Middle East.
00:00:14.000And finally, we do a recap of the professors teaching your kids or grandkids on campuses.
00:00:20.000Email us as always, freedom at charliekirk.com.
00:00:23.000Get involved with TurningPointUSA at tpusa.com.
00:01:13.000We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country.
00:01:39.000Matt, you covered this congressional stuff very closely and you've been tracking it.
00:01:46.000Walk us through the last couple of weeks from motion to vacate to where we are now, Matt Boyle.
00:01:52.000Yeah, look, we just had the third ballot earlier this morning and earlier today, and Jordan fell short again.
00:02:00.00025 intransigent Republicans refused to vote for him.
00:02:04.000We have a list of those up on Breitbart.com so people can go see if their member of Congress is one of the intransigent Republicans who are doing this.
00:02:15.000There were, this was the third speaker vote for Jordan.
00:02:20.000Where this all started was now almost three weeks ago.
00:02:26.000Eight Republicans led by Matt Gates of Florida did what's called a motion to vacate the chair.
00:02:33.000They voted with all of the Democrats in Congress to remove McCarthy from the speaker's chair.
00:02:41.000After that happened, then the House Republicans had first rallied around Steve Scalise, the House majority leader.
00:02:49.000But Steve Scalise only got 110 voting members of the House of Representatives to back him in conference, which is less than a majority.
00:02:58.000You'll see the number 113 out there, but that's because three of those votes that he got in conference were from members from the delegates from the territories.
00:03:10.000So they don't get to vote on the floor.
00:03:12.000So Scalise's path was pretty much over the second he won the conference nomination.
00:03:19.000Once Scalise withdrew from the race, the race shifted back to Jim Jordan.
00:03:24.000Jim Jordan is now and has been for a week now, the speaker designate of the Republican conference.
00:03:31.000So he's the official nominee of the Republican Conference for Speaker, and he's gotten close, right?
00:03:37.000So his first vote on the floor earlier this week, he got 200 votes.
00:03:43.000After that, one member flipped back his way, and another member who was absent is back and voting for him again.
00:03:50.000But he hasn't been able to break these remaining holdouts.
00:03:54.000And the thing that is abundantly clear about these people that are holding out against Jim Jordan is many of them are on the appropriations committee.
00:04:04.000So many of them, seven of them actually, including the chairwoman of the appropriations committee, Kay Granger from Texas.
00:04:11.000Now, Kay Granger from Texas, I'm told by House Republican aides, is like the Republican Joe Biden.
00:04:22.000And so she's the one leading the charge here.
00:04:26.000You also have John Rutherford on the Appropriations Committee.
00:04:29.000He represents the district here in Northeast Florida.
00:04:33.000You have Tony Gonzalez from Texas on the Appropriations Committee.
00:04:37.000Jake Elzey from Texas on the Appropriations Committee.
00:04:39.000Steve Womack from Arkansas on the Appropriations Committee.
00:04:43.000So one thing that's clear is that it's the big government, big spending Republicans who are doing this because there's a government funding deadline coming up on November 17th.
00:04:54.000The deal that led the original eight to go after McCarthy and move to remove him from the speaker's chair funded the government for 45 days.
00:05:06.000And they motioned to vacated the chair just a couple of days after that.
00:05:12.000That funded the government until November 17th.
00:05:15.000And now with the government funding deadline looming, these appropriator, big government, big spending Republicans, establishment rhinos are in the way of Jordan and continuing their intransigence.
00:05:28.000Yeah, so what is the path forward then, Matt?
00:05:50.000It does not look like the pressure campaign is working, Matt Boyle.
00:05:54.000Well, look, I think that they're very willing to wheel and deal.
00:05:57.000I know they say they aren't, but the fact of the matter is, is that there's two ways out of this.
00:06:04.000I don't think there's any other member of the Republican Conference at this point who could be able to get 217 votes and they'll need to get 218 when a special election is over in Utah next month, right?
00:06:18.000So there's a special election coming up there.
00:06:20.000The fact is, is that I don't think that anyone else could get there.
00:06:44.000We're seeing how these awful people actually work.
00:06:48.000Look, Charlie, you know this because you have the good ones come to the turning point conferences, right?
00:06:54.000Like the fact is, is that there's, you know, people out there generally know maybe 15, 20 members of Congress, the ones who are on TV all the time, the ones who go to your conferences, right?
00:07:03.000The ones who come on Breitbart all the time, right?
00:07:05.000Like, but there's a lot of these really, really bad establishment politicians in the Republican conference in both the House and the Senate.
00:07:13.000The House is a little better than the Senate because the elections are every two years.
00:07:17.000So we've been getting rid of the bad ones and bringing in the good ones.
00:07:20.000But the fact is, is that I think this is exposing them all, right?
00:07:24.000Like, so I think this is a great moment for the country in that we're getting to see a look underneath the hood and into the, you know, look, their guts are showing, right?
00:07:36.000The intestine, the gastrointestinal tract of the awful place that is Congress.
00:07:40.000I don't mean to interrupt, Matt, but do you think the moderates are feeling the heat?
00:07:44.000I'm not seeing evidence of that yet, that they're starting to.
00:07:46.000Okay, so walk us through that because maybe they're just playing a game.
00:07:50.000They're complaining about, you see this constantly happening now, like where they're all complaining about they're getting quote unquote death threats.
00:07:59.000I haven't seen actual evidence of an actual death threat.
00:08:02.000And obviously, that would be bad if they are.
00:08:04.000I think what's happening is people are calling their members of Congress and they're freaking out, right?
00:08:09.000Like, so, like, look, here's the deal: if this was conservatives voting against an establishment person that was the conference nominee, you would see people calling for their committee chairs, right?
00:08:19.000Like, in calling for their committee assignments and calling to strip them off of committees.
00:08:28.000Congressman Jim Banks, for instance, from Indiana, who's fantastic and is the likely senator, next senator from Indiana, is calling for Kate Granger, the leader of this.
00:08:38.000She's the chair of the Appropriations Committee, to lose her gavel as the Appropriations Committee chair.
00:08:43.000And people are beginning to pressure whoever the next speaker will be.
00:08:47.000And I think that it will be Jim Jordan.
00:08:49.000I think he's going to figure out a way through this and power through it.
00:08:59.000And the fact is, is that I think the pressure is on those other people because their predictions of a mass exodus against Jordan haven't come to fruition.
00:09:08.000And the fact is, is that the vast majority of members have been sticking with Jordan.
00:09:13.000Since his original first speakership vote ballot, where he got 99 votes, he's moved more than double his way, right?
00:09:21.000Like, so on the first speakership ballot, he had 200 votes.
00:10:15.000The eight of us have said that we are willing to accept censure, sanction, suspension, removal from the Republican conference.
00:10:25.000We, of course, will remain Republicans.
00:10:27.000We will continue to vote with Republicans on Republican principles.
00:10:31.000But if what these holdouts need is a pound of our flesh, we're willing to give it to them in order to see them elect Jim Jordan for speaker.
00:12:10.000And this is the point is that I think what Gates is doing here is actually a really smart move.
00:12:15.000And frankly, there was an interesting thing that insiders were tracking where Jim Jordan had a notepad when he was walking into or out of his meeting with the holdouts the other day.
00:12:26.000And on it, he had handwritten, what's the real reason, right?
00:12:31.000Like, and because none of them are giving a real reason, right?
00:12:33.000Like the reasons that they say are all lies publicly.
00:13:17.000But if that's what they need to be able to get there and vote for Jordan and, you know, they punish the other ones who did this, then fine, right?
00:13:25.000Like, and, you know, but the fact is, is that if Jordan doesn't end up as the speaker here, look, there's two pathways here.
00:13:30.000Jim Jordan becomes the speaker of the house, or there is going to be a massive civil war inside the Republican Party where nobody is safe.
00:13:40.000And frankly, maybe that's a good thing.
00:15:04.000I don't think Jordan should back down one bit.
00:15:06.000He should call their bluff because nobody else can get there.
00:15:09.000And Jordan should keep going and keep trying to work on it.
00:15:13.000And no matter how long it takes, if it takes another month, if it takes another six months, I don't care how long it takes.
00:15:18.000Jim Jordan should never back out of this race.
00:15:21.000And what he should do is call their bluff.
00:15:23.000Their only way out is they need to vote for Jordan and find a way to get there or they need to go make a deal with the Democrats.
00:15:29.000And either way, I think it's good for the country because you're going to see, I mean, look, a deal with the Democrats, bad for the country, but at least good for the movement in that we're going to expose these people for what they really are, right?
00:15:40.000Like, and, you know, these big government, big spending establishment, Rhino Republicans, right?
00:15:45.000Like, so the fact is, is that Jordan should never, ever back down.
00:15:50.000And if he were, both Thai man would be losing the house, right?
00:15:54.000So, Matt, what you're saying is a little risky, though.
00:15:56.000I just want to put you on, you know, play devil's advocate for a minute.
00:15:59.000You say, even if they side with Democrats, you think that's a good thing?
00:16:02.000I mean, that would be effectively losing our House majority.
00:16:05.000Yes, but the fact is, is that I think it would expose these people for what they really are.
00:16:12.000And I think that that would offer the opportunity for the voters of the country across the country to vote in new ones, right?
00:16:19.000Like, look, we're at a point here where we're almost kind of back at square one where we were a decade plus ago when my colleague Peter Schweitzer came out with throw them all out.
00:16:27.000It's time to throw them all out, right?
00:17:21.000When the government used emergency edicts during COVID to restrict the gathering and worship of churches, three pastors facing the risk of imprisonment, unlimited fines, and their own churches being ripped apart took a courageous stand and reopened their doors in the face of a world that chose to comply.
00:17:37.000The Essential Church is a feature-length documentary that explores the struggle between the church and government throughout history.
00:17:44.000The story uncovers those who have sacrificed their lives throughout history for what they believe in.
00:17:48.000Rediscover why the church is essential and how we prove this stand remains true from a scientific, legal, and most importantly, a theological and biblical perspective.
00:18:46.000So let's talk about first Joe Biden's $100 billion ask.
00:18:51.000He is now saying that he wants $100 billion from Congress to support the security needs of Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and the U.S. southern border.
00:18:59.000He wants $61 billion for Ukraine, $14 billion for Israel, $2 billion for Taiwan, $9 billion for humanitarian assistance, $6 billion for border operations, $1.2 billion for fentanyl.
00:19:19.000And, you know, here's one of the most outrageous things.
00:19:21.000He wants to send a billion dollars or whatever it is over to Gaza to the Palestinian leadership, who are the ones who perpetrated these terrorist attacks against Israel and against American citizens when there are still American hostages, Charlie, being held as we speak, American hostages.
00:19:39.000And Joe Biden wants to pay these people.
00:19:42.000Not a dime for Gaza until every single American hostage is released and safely home.
00:19:49.000And all the rest of it is a joke, too, or much of it.
00:19:51.000You know, the border stuff, what it's going to be is buyoffs to New York City and these other blue states and cities that now have illegal immigrants because lo and behold, the border is open.
00:20:01.000So, Senator, have you been briefed in a skiff or otherwise?
00:20:06.000And obviously, you don't have to tell us the date of it, but on the Israel intel failure or America's knowledge ahead of it, or have you kind of been flying blind?
00:20:15.000If America is going to send another $14 billion on top of $4 billion, the U.S. Senate, at the very least, should be aware of what's going on regionally and the other actors involved.
00:20:26.000Have you been briefed, or do you largely feel as if you're being left out of the conversation?
00:20:32.000We were briefed this past week in a classified setting, but I can tell you, Charlie, I didn't learn anything that you can't read in the newspapers.
00:20:38.000And basically, I think the administration has no particular plan here.
00:21:31.000Yeah, and I'm afraid, Senator, that we're kind of barreling towards a regional conflict and regional war.
00:21:37.000And so in your discussion with your colleagues, contrast this with kind of, or maybe, you know, just contrast it, but compare it to kind of the zeal to help go against Russia.
00:21:48.000Is there at least some concern amongst some of the old bulls in the Senate that we don't want this to kind of boil over?
00:21:55.000Because some of your colleagues, not to name any names, have been saying we have to potentially bomb Iranian oil fields, things that I would consider to be rather geopolitically reckless here.
00:22:05.000What is the temperature amongst your colleagues when it comes to at least trying to contain this so that this does not become A, out of control, and B, require United States troops on the ground to solve it?
00:22:15.000Well, let me just tell you where I am on it, Charlie.
00:22:17.000My view is, number one, our overriding priority has got to be to get the American hostages back.
00:22:32.000That ought to be priority number one for us.
00:22:34.000Number two, the Israelis do not want us to fight their war for them.
00:22:38.000You know, this is something that's very different than, say, Ukraine.
00:22:41.000What Israel wants is just let them do what they need to do to get Hamas out of there, out of the region, and hopefully to help us get the hostages back.
00:22:50.000So my view is, you know, all of this talk about, well, Israel needs XYZ.
00:22:54.000You know, what Israel is asking for is just international support.
00:22:57.000It's for the United States just to say, let us go in and defend our own people, which they have every right to do.
00:23:05.000And all this talk about, you know, all the other stuff in the region, let's get focused on American hostages coming home and Israel's right to defend itself against these terrorists that are right on their doorstep.
00:25:32.000I mean, you just are telegraphing to these people that the United States is not strong, that the United States is willing to roll over for terrorists.
00:25:40.000And now we have our own people being held by these terrorists in Gaza.
00:25:43.000And Joe Biden's solution is let's have some more money.
00:26:56.000I mean, here you get an inner working into how this government actually operates, Charlie, where this guy couldn't believe the fact I would take issue with him going to industry insider events where people are paying to see him.
00:27:09.000He's the director of the loan program for the Department of Energy.
00:27:14.000He has the ability to disperse in his office hundreds of billions of dollars in loan programs, loans to these industry insiders, and they're paying to get an audience with him.
00:27:25.000And listen, industry groups that this guy previously founded have boasted they've got an inside track to get all kinds of loans from the federal government because they have a relationship with him.
00:27:34.000And they advertise if you join their group and pay the money, you can get an audience with him and you can get your loans.
00:27:52.000We're selling out our government all the time.
00:27:54.000Come on, it's just standard operating procedure.
00:27:57.000Senator, in closing here, we don't have time to play the tape, but just summarize your reaction to Charlie Baker, former Republican governor of Massachusetts, and his unwillingness to be clear about men and men's sports and female and female NCAA sports.
00:28:59.000As you know, following this week's horrible events, Israel is at war.
00:29:03.000The people of Israel are under attack from brutal terrorists, targeting innocent civilians, including women and children.
00:29:08.000There's over a thousand casualties, as well as kidnapping and infiltration of southern Israeli towns.
00:29:12.000Israel is now retaliating and could escalate with a ground offensive against Hamas militants.
00:29:17.000The situation is critical, which is why I'm partnering with our friends at the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews to rush emergency relief to the hardest hit areas.
00:29:24.000Call the special phone number 800-492-5454 to make an emergency donation.
00:29:32.000Your emergency gift will help the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews save lives and provide critical essentials needed right now.
00:29:38.000During this dark time, the need in war-torn areas will be tremendous.
00:29:41.000The fellowship has an extensive network of staff, partner organizations, and more.
00:29:45.000Immediately respond with life-saving security and support measures.
00:29:48.000We ask all people to pray for safety and protection.
00:29:50.000Call 800-492-5454 as we rush urgent need right now to help Israel through the International Fellowship of Christian Jews.
00:30:01.000When I called college a scam, people said, Oh, come on, because you know, there is a built-in attachment.
00:30:07.000People say our institutions are still strong.
00:30:11.000Let me introduce you to Gemma DeCristo.
00:30:14.000Gemma DeCristo is a professor of American studies and undergraduate faculty advisor at University of California, Davis.
00:30:23.000She tweeted, One group of people we have easy access to in the United States is all these Zionist journalists who spread propaganda and misinformation.
00:30:35.000By the way, she misspelled misinformation, hilariously.
00:30:41.000They have houses with addresses and kids in school.
00:30:46.000They can fear their bosses, but they should fear us more.
00:30:50.000Knife X blood, blood, blood, threatening to kill Jews and Zionist journalists.
00:30:57.000She is a professor of the next generation at University of California, Davis.
00:31:04.000Columbia professor came out and said, It was awesome, the terror attacks in Israel.
00:31:12.000Joseph Massad, a professor at modern Arab politics and intellectual history at Columbia University, wrote in an article right after the attacks that it was astounding and incredible.
00:31:39.000I spent the day at Kibut Beri, which is one of the civilian communities that was targeted in the massacre just last weekend.
00:31:47.000And the sites there are extremely harrowing.
00:31:50.000There are homes that have been completely shattered, that have been blackened by Hamas terrorists who set them on fire in order to murder the families inside.
00:32:00.000And when they pulled the rubble apart, they found the bodies of eight small children who had been tied to one another and shot.
00:32:10.000They also found the bodies of a couple who were embracing when they died.
00:32:16.000I've never seen anything like this before.
00:32:19.000Professor Columbia thinks that it was, quote, awesome, astounding, incredible, and a stunning victory.
00:32:25.000Yale faculty member Zarina Greewal, prayers for Palestinians.
00:32:30.000Israel, Israeli is a murderous, genocidal settler state, and Palestinians have every right to resist through armed struggle, solidarity, the day of the massacre.
00:32:40.000Meet Amir Hassan Laggins, a Stanford instructor who told Jewish kids to stand in a corner while belittling the Holocaust and calling them colonizers.
00:32:51.000He is a professor at Stanford University.
00:32:54.000He worked at Harvard's Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice.
00:33:00.000And it shouldn't shock you that a black studies organization hires a man who spent his entire career pointing racist, and then he responds to a terror attack calling racist to go put Jews in their own corner.
00:33:13.000Meet Nina Farina, a professor at the University of Albany.
00:33:18.000Long live the Palestinian resistance, she said on the day of the attack, and people of Gaza tearing down the walls and colonialism and apartheid.
00:33:25.000As the Biden admin builds more walls at U.S. borders, the people of the world are rising up and tearing walls down.
00:33:31.000The Palestinians are a beacon for us all.
00:33:34.000Meet Cornell professor Russell Rickford speaking about the hair, the terrorist attacks.
00:33:40.000Now, this video is a little hard to understand.
00:33:42.000I'll transcribe it in a second, but listen to it, PlayCut 148.
00:33:46.000The targeting of civilians, as do you, as do I, who were able to breathe.
00:34:01.000And if they weren't exhilarated by this challenge to the monopoly of balance, by this shifting of the balance of power, then they would not be human.
