00:00:00.000 Hey everybody, this is Andrew Colvett here filling in one last time for Charlie.
00:00:04.000 We have a special exclusive conversation with Kyle Rittenhouse reacting to the events of last night at the University of Memphis.
00:00:12.000 All chaos broke loose.
00:00:14.000 It was a chaotic scene.
00:00:16.000 And guess what?
00:00:16.000 The University of Memphis is complicit.
00:00:19.000 In all likelihood, though we can't prove it yet, there needs to be an investigation.
00:00:22.000 In all likelihood, it aided and abetted the protesters to sabotage the Turning Point USA chapter at the University of Memphis and really honestly put a lot of people at risk and put people's safety at risk.
00:00:34.000 So we talk with Kyle about it.
00:00:36.000 We get his perspective.
00:00:37.000 You're not going to want to miss this.
00:00:38.000 Kyle Rittenhouse, right here.
00:00:40.000 Buckle up.
00:00:40.000 Here we go.
00:00:41.000 Charlie, what you've done is incredible here.
00:00:43.000 Maybe Charlie Kirk is on the college campus.
00:00:45.000 I want you to know we are lucky to have Charlie Kirk.
00:00:49.000 Charlie Kirk's running the White House, folks.
00:00:52.000 I want to thank Charlie.
00:00:53.000 He's an incredible guy.
00:00:54.000 His spirit, his love of this country, he's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created.
00:01:01.000 Turning point USA.
00:01:02.000 We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country.
00:01:11.000 That's why we are here.

00:01:40.000 I wanted to take some time to sit down with the man at the center of so much of the attention last night at the University of Memphis.
00:01:47.000 That would be Kyle Rittenhouse.
00:01:48.000 So, Kyle, welcome to the Charlie Kirk Show with, you know, yours truly, Andrew filling in.
00:01:54.000 How are you doing, buddy?
00:01:55.000 I'm doing good, Andrew.
00:01:56.000 Thank you for having me on.
00:01:57.000 Yeah, well, thank you for making the time.
00:01:59.000 I mean, listen, I feel like I was privy to this for a couple of weeks as we were leading up to this.
00:02:05.000 There was a lot of media tension.
00:02:07.000 And so we knew that there was, I guess, some left-wing energy, some protest energy that did not want to see you come to campus.
00:02:17.000 But then everything got crazy the morning of.
00:02:20.000 The university changed the ticketing system.
00:02:23.000 So we had thousands of ticketing requests that went that were voided, basically.
00:02:29.000 So a lot of people, and people don't understand this.
00:02:32.000 Turning point has a really elaborate ticketing system to make sure that we get people that really want to be there in good faith and that are able to get tickets, students.
00:02:40.000 That was voided the morning of.
00:02:42.000 And then the protesters were tipped off and given the tickets.
00:02:46.000 They had advanced notice of when those tickets would become available.
00:02:50.000 So Kyle, you walked in to not only protesters on the outside of the event, but they were basically had almost nearly all the seats inside the event, thanks to the University of Memphis.
00:03:02.000 I want you to walk through with our listeners what you were hearing on the ground.
00:03:08.000 What were you anticipating?
00:03:10.000 Were you nervous going into this event?
00:03:12.000 What was going through your head?
00:03:14.000 Absolutely.
00:03:15.000 So the first thing I did was I called my prayer buddy up and we said a prayer before I walked out on the stage.
00:03:20.000 And that had like a sense of relief.
00:03:23.000 But I talked with my security team and we had a guy on the ground already, Byron, with his dog, who's a dual-purpose canine, who swept the building and made sure everything was safe.
00:03:34.000 But I was just shocked on how the administration and the University of Memphis can do that to where they can go ahead and revoke the ticketing system last minute and give a heads up to the protesters/slash rioters.
00:03:48.000 Because if we're being honest here, it turned into a borderline riot as they were spinning and chasing down the TPUSA students vehicles yesterday.
00:03:58.000 And I walk out there and I'm just met with a bunch of nasty people calling me a murderer, a white supremacist.
00:04:07.000 And that one doesn't make any sense to me.
00:04:08.000 None of them make sense to me, but especially the white supremacist part and just saying all these nasty things about me.
00:04:17.000 And I just took it and I argued with people in the crowd.
00:04:21.000 I tried to give a speech.
00:04:23.000 I had a speech prepared that I was going to give.
00:04:25.000 And then I got like a minute and a half and two minutes into it.
00:04:28.000 And they would not let me talk.
00:04:30.000 So I said, okay, you guys obviously don't want to hear me talk.
00:04:33.000 Let's go ahead and roll into QA.
00:04:36.000 They didn't like what I had to say because a bunch of people walked out.
00:04:41.000 Well, that's so we have screen grabs from these protester group chats, Kyle, where they literally say, Hey, we were just told that the tickets are going to be made available at this link at 8:30.
00:04:54.000 So everybody make sure you grab your tickets so that we can stage a walkout of Kyle's event.
00:04:59.000 So they knew exactly what they were doing.
00:05:01.000 Somebody, whether it was the administration themselves or a staffer, there was very few people who knew that this was the new plan, right?
00:05:09.000 And they forced this plan after originally agreeing to using our ticketing system.
00:05:15.000 Again, we have an elaborate system in place because, you know, this is nothing new.
00:05:20.000 We're used to people trying to buy up all the tickets.
00:05:22.000 You don't have to buy them.
00:05:23.000 They're free, but to reserve all the tickets and then, you know, either not show up and leave the event empty so they control the event or do other types of things.
00:05:33.000 So we have a system in place where we can combat those kind of attacks.
00:05:37.000 And it was all going swimmingly.
00:05:39.000 We had the tickets were all going to be handled in a really professional, stand-up way.
00:05:44.000 And people that really wanted to hear you, by the way, I want you to know this, Kyle.
00:05:48.000 The response to the event was overwhelming.
00:05:51.000 I mean, we had thousands and thousands of requests.
00:05:54.000 And I would say the vast majority of those were good faith requests.
00:05:58.000 And the event was going to be packed with, yeah, the event was going to be packed with people that appreciate your story, wanted to hear from you.
00:06:05.000 I'm sure some would disagree, but they were good faith, right?
00:06:07.000 It was not going to be a room full of 300 protesters just screaming at you.
00:06:13.000 And unfortunately, the university gamed the system, changed it last minute, and set this up.
00:06:20.000 And really, your point is well taken.
00:06:22.000 They set up the potential for a riot to happen, which if you know anything about the city of Memphis, it's not surprising that that same kind of cultural rot would be infesting the administration of the University of Memphis.
00:06:35.000 So honestly, I'm sorry that that happened to you.
00:06:40.000 All of this.
00:06:40.000 I'm sorry that happened to the students.
00:06:43.000 Yeah, yeah, fair.
00:06:45.000 Absolutely.
00:06:46.000 It happened to the students who took the time out of their days to either come into town or clear their schedules to come and listen to me speak because they have every right, just as any other protester, to come there and listen to me and to be censored in a way.
00:07:03.000 In a way, it is censorship to censor me and the students of Turning Point US4.
00:07:09.000 It's unprofessional.
00:07:10.000 And it just makes me very upset and very angry.
00:07:14.000 Well, that's totally, it's totally right.
00:07:16.000 And one of the other aspects of this story, and there's so many moving parts, it's hard for people to fully understand what happened.
00:07:22.000 The administration in coordination with campus police basically said they weren't going to do anything if protesters were shouting at you, if they were being unruly.
00:07:31.000 It's a funny story about that.
00:07:34.000 Yeah, please.
00:07:34.000 In our security briefing, my security team met with Memphis PD, and essentially they were, I have a, you've met my dog.
00:07:42.000 I have a medical service dog for my PTSD and Byron has a working dog and they were trying to refuse access to our dogs.
00:07:50.000 The staff was saying that they aren't going to do anything about anybody being unruly.
00:07:55.000 And It's my securities team's job to essentially control the crowd.
00:08:03.000 And I'm like, that's not their job.
00:08:05.000 Their job is to protect me.
00:08:06.000 That's University of Memphis police's job to control the crowd.
00:08:12.000 Yeah, well, so exactly.
00:08:14.000 So let's piece this together.
00:08:15.000 They stacked the deck with a crowd that was going to be absolutely unruly and chaotic and disruptive.
00:08:23.000 They did that on purpose in the name of fairness and equity, Kyle.
00:08:27.000 They then told you, we're not going to do anything to stop them or to ensure that the event can actually move forward in a productive way.
00:08:35.000 They essentially created a scenario where they could silence you and censor you.
00:08:39.000 You're absolutely right.
00:08:40.000 This is a form of censorship by another name.
00:08:43.000 Yes, they technically allowed the event to move forward, but not any semblance of the event that we had envisioned, not any semblance of the event where you would actually get an opportunity to speak.
00:08:53.000 They created a situation that could have become unsafe, that could have become a lot more riotous than it did.
00:08:59.000 Thankfully, nobody was hurt.
00:09:01.000 But certainly, you look at some of those videos, like somebody could have very easily been injured in all of this.
00:09:09.000 And yeah, this is them walking out, the Black Lives Matter t-shirt, walking out of the event because they didn't like what you had to say.
00:09:16.000 And then there were scenes from outside of them spitting on cars, kicking cars, chasing people around, blocking roads, trying to block cars from exiting.
00:09:26.000 I mean, this is a massive group of people.
00:09:30.000 And the cops and the administration enabled this by giving them such a wide, wide berth and such a long leash.
00:09:38.000 Look at these people trying to exit.
00:09:40.000 I mean, I'm surprised nobody got hurt.
00:09:44.000 Folks, so many people I know are disheartened that our country seems to have forgotten the importance of citizenship, and they wonder how a strong sense of citizenship might be revived.
00:09:54.000 That's why my friends at Hillsdale College have produced a free online course on this topic, American Citizenship and Its Decline.
00:10:01.000 Taught by historian Victor Davis Hansen, the course traces the history of citizenship and explains how it is undermined in America today by open borders, by identity politics, by the administrative state, and by globalization.
00:10:14.000 Americans taking the course will gain a deeper insight about the connection between citizenship and freedom, an insight they can share with their family members, friends, and neighbors.
00:10:23.000 Hillsdale's free online courses are an important component of Hillsdale's mission to reach and teach increasing millions of people on behalf of liberty and the American way of life.

00:10:49.000 They enabled this behavior.
00:10:51.000 They refused to stamp it out or quell it or control it.
00:10:56.000 And this is why the city of Memphis broke its own homicide record last year with almost 400 murders.
00:11:03.000 And in a mid-major city, that's not a major city.
00:11:06.000 You should not be having 400 murders in a city the size of Memphis.
00:11:09.000 And instead of dealing with all that, they want to point the finger at Kyle Rittenhouse and say, you are the problem.
00:11:14.000 And that Turning Point USA is the problem.
00:11:17.000 And it's really disappointing.
00:11:19.000 But when you enable petulant children, this is exactly what you get.
00:11:22.000 Absolutely.
00:11:23.000 And I tried to get into that in my speech a little bit yesterday while in my QA and debate with some of these unruly demonstrators inside that building, talking about the murder rate in Memphis and how most of those murders come from people who legally cannot possess a gun to begin with.
00:11:40.000 So what does adding more gun control do to help your city?
00:11:44.000 Absolutely nothing.
00:11:46.000 That's a good point.
00:11:47.000 And Kyle, there's this whole other racial aspect to this.
00:11:50.000 And frankly, you want nothing to do with it.
00:11:52.000 But I do find it interesting that a lot of people want to paint you as a white supremacist.
00:11:58.000 Just to fact check for us.
00:12:00.000 Just like they do with Charlie trying to paint us as a white supremacist.
00:12:04.000 Oh, 100%.
00:12:05.000 And yeah, so to set the record straight here, Kyle, I mean, your experience, traumatic as it was in Kenosha, correct me if I'm wrong.
00:12:14.000 None of those people that you engaged with were black.
00:12:17.000 Were they?
00:12:17.000 They were actually white.
00:12:19.000 Every single one of them was white.
00:12:21.000 Isn't that hilarious?
00:12:22.000 But yeah, you're somehow a white supremacist.
00:12:25.000 And the other thing I want to fact check here, Kyle, they're saying is you stormed off the stage and because you couldn't answer questions.
00:12:35.000 Is that true or false, Kyle?
00:12:38.000 That's completely false.
00:12:39.000 If you watch the video, I'm not going to dox the field rep's name, but you see my security team walk off stage, go to the field rep because I gave my single, hey, I had my timer on.
00:12:48.000 I was going to go out there for 30 minutes.
00:12:50.000 The schedule time that I promised turning point, 30 minutes, had my timer.
00:12:55.000 My phone went off.
00:12:56.000 I gave my single to my security team.
00:12:59.000 They noticed my signal and that was like, hey, we're going to wrap this up.
00:13:03.000 Last question.
00:13:03.000 And I didn't answer the last question because it was irrelevant and didn't make any sense.
00:13:08.000 So they came up and we walked out.
00:13:10.000 And that was a strategic move.
00:13:12.000 So they didn't go and have time to mobilize to shut down the roads and try to harm me as I was getting out.
00:13:19.000 It wasn't like I stormed off stage.
00:13:22.000 It was we got out of there because there was threats of violence.
00:13:25.000 And that's when the speech ended.
00:13:27.000 The event was over.
00:13:28.000 Yeah.
00:13:29.000 So you told everybody last question and then you and then you moved off the stage 100% the way that I was told that it happened as well.
00:13:36.000 But you didn't just storm off.
00:13:38.000 You ended up meeting with Turning Point students, did you not?
00:13:40.000 You ended up spending more time.
00:13:43.000 Yeah.
00:13:43.000 So tell us what happened after you left the stage.
00:13:46.000 I felt so bad for the Turning Point students who did not get to come there.
00:13:51.000 And I promised them a meeting group and I just felt so bad.
00:13:55.000 So the field rep was able to find a venue and gather up all the Turning Point students.
00:14:02.000 So I gave them a speech.
00:14:03.000 I mingled around with them and I hung out with them for a couple hours and spent some time with them because they didn't deserve to be treated like that by the university.
00:14:12.000 And it was a really wonderful after event.
00:14:14.000 And I'm glad I got to be able to do that with them.
00:14:17.000 And I hope it meant a lot to them because it meant a lot to me.
00:14:22.000 That's great, Kyle.
00:14:23.000 And then just in terms of your own physical safety, did you, at what points before, during, or after the event exiting the university, did you feel unsafe as you were in any of those settings?
00:14:38.000 Not really.
00:14:39.000 We went out to, it was funny.
00:14:41.000 So after the after event, we went out to this place called Hui's and it's kind of in the hood.
00:14:46.000 And I didn't really feel unsafe there, but there were definitely some sketched characters there taking pictures of me.
00:14:52.000 But we had a canine Odin with us and nobody really wants to mess with the dog.
00:14:59.000 Okay, Kirk fans, I need you to stop and pay attention to this.
00:15:02.000 If you deal with exhaustion, brain fog, mood swings, or food cravings, if you're constantly getting sick or simply lack the zeal you used to have in life, then I have some news for you.
00:15:12.000 While back, I found a liquid supplement called Strong Cell, and it changed my health in a very profound way.
00:15:17.000 I take it every single day.
00:15:20.000 Look, I knew I had to partner with them.
00:15:22.000 I did the research.
00:15:22.000 Google and look up online what happens when you mix NADH with CoQ10 and marine collagen.
00:15:29.000 It's simple.
00:15:30.000 Every area of your body has cells.
00:15:32.000 So if your cells are healthier, then you will also be healthier.
00:15:35.000 You don't have to take my word for it.
00:15:36.000 Listen to one of these testimonials.
00:15:38.000 After taking Strong Cell for six weeks, I found improvement in many areas, less shoulder pain, improved mental clarity, increased natural energy, and so much more.
00:15:45.000 I'm thankful that Charlie Kirk recommended this to his listeners.
00:15:48.000 Rebecca says, I absolutely love Strong Cell.
00:15:51.000 First, I didn't think would make much of a difference for my chronic fatigue, depression, and anxiety, but I thought I'd give it a chance.
00:15:56.000 I've tried to find depression meds for 10 years, and since you strong cell, I'm feeling better than I ever have on depression medication.
00:16:03.000 Customer for life, thank you, Charlie Kirk, for recommending this product.
00:16:07.000 So, there it is.
00:16:07.000 You've heard from me directly and some of the users who have seen their lives changed by Strong Cell.
00:16:13.000 I personally recommend taking it every day for at least 30 days.
00:16:16.000 I take it every day before I go on the air, and it's helped me in more ways than I can even name.
00:16:20.000 Each of our bodies is very different.
00:16:22.000 So, I would recommend you give the supplement at least two to three months to see the changes in your body.
00:16:27.000 Go to strongsell.com and learn more for yourself.
00:16:30.000 That's strongcell.com forward slash Charlie.
00:16:33.000 And don't forget to use discount code Charlie at checkout to get your special 20% discount for Kirk listeners, or you can call 888-596-0155 to order over the phone.
00:16:43.000 That is 888-596-0155, or visit strongsell.com forward slash Charlie.
00:16:53.000 So, and that's the other part of this story that I think is underappreciated.
00:16:57.000 You know, Charlie goes to campus and he experiences like so much love, so much like appreciation.
00:17:05.000 Like, crowds come around him, and they want to like, you know, shake his hand and take pictures with him.
00:17:09.000 I mean, when he does these table event tabling events, he's usually got about like 60, 70% of people that like really support him or there to encourage him.
00:17:17.000 You have a similar situation where a lot of people want to paint it as if all you have is haters.
00:17:22.000 But talk about some of the people that support you.
00:17:25.000 Like, I mean, I was on the phone with you earlier, and you had to like pause the conversation because some I could hear the gentleman came up to you and just like, I just want to shake your hand, Kyle, and tell you I appreciate you.
00:17:35.000 And I got your bag.
00:17:37.000 Tell us about the love that you experienced too and the support.
00:17:41.000 Absolutely.
00:17:42.000 Absolutely.
00:17:43.000 Especially at turning point events and then like going on in public.
00:17:47.000 Of course, there's some negative people out there, but a majority of the people are nice, everyday patriots who just want to see the same society that Turning Point wants to see, that I want to see, and see people not get indoctrinated or have our rights stripped.
00:18:04.000 And, you know, simple, simple stuff.
00:18:06.000 Not too much to ask for.
00:18:08.000 And they're supportive.
00:18:09.000 They come up and they'll ask to take a picture.
00:18:11.000 They'll just want to shake my hand.
00:18:13.000 And I do find a little bit of appreciation in that in a way because it shows me that not everybody is out to get me.
00:18:21.000 No, we're dealing with a very loud, very weak minority group of people that act like petulant children to get their way.
00:18:31.000 And anyways, Kyle, I just, you know, appreciate you going through with the event.
00:18:36.000 The university really needs to be held accountable.
00:18:38.000 We're going to be working as hard as we can to make sure that this incident gets investigated.
00:18:44.000 Again, the university sets you up with a stacked deck of protesters in that crowd by changing the ticketing system, by refusing to use ours, by refusing to honor our weeks of work that went into promoting that event and getting people registered and good faith and confirming tickets and texting people and emailing people.
00:19:03.000 I mean, people have no idea how much work our staff puts in, how much our chapters put in to host an event like this.
00:19:09.000 And they undermined it and they put you and our students and honestly that university at risk.
00:19:14.000 I'm so glad nobody was hurt, Kyle.
00:19:16.000 But, you know, thank you for pushing forward.
00:19:19.000 And, you know, by the way, last thing, tell us about your book.
00:19:23.000 How do people support you?
00:19:26.000 You know, how do people get behind Kyle Rittenhouse?
00:19:29.000 Absolutely.
00:19:30.000 So my book is available for purchase at RittenhouseBook.com.
00:19:34.000 And it's essentially just a rundown of everything that happened.
00:19:37.000 And the best way for people to support me is I've been speaking for at quite a few universities now with a few booked up.
00:19:46.000 If you guys are at any of these universities that I'll be speaking at for turning point, I would love to see you guys.
00:19:53.000 I would love to meet you guys, and it would be awesome for you guys to come out.
00:19:56.000 Awesome.
00:19:57.000 Well, Kyle, stay safe.
00:19:59.000 I know you work hard at that.
00:20:01.000 And keep your head up.
00:20:02.000 You got more people that back you than don't.
00:20:04.000 They're just loud, petulant children.
00:20:07.000 And let's be honest, the University of Memphis was complicit in turning that event into a chaotic scene.
00:20:12.000 I'm just glad.
00:20:13.000 I'm glad everybody's safe.
00:20:13.000 I'm glad you're safe.
00:20:15.000 Absolutely.
00:20:15.000 Thank you for having me, Andrew.
00:20:16.000 Thanks so much for listening, everybody.
00:20:18.000 Talk to you soon.
