00:00:00.000Today in the Charlie Kirk Show, we have two candidates running for office that I think are really interesting and worthy of our support.
00:00:06.000Kevin Kiley running for Congress in California and Congressman Mill Brooks running for Senate in Alabama.
00:00:12.000Some great conversations about the future of the Republican Party.
00:00:15.000And if you live in Alabama or you live in that area of California, listen and text it to your friends.
00:00:20.000Email me your thoughts as always, freedom at charliekirk.com.

00:00:55.000He's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created, Turning Point USA.
00:01:01.000We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country.
00:02:02.000Yeah, California has this crazy top two system, which is a total mess.
00:02:06.000It's made kind of a joke of our election system.
00:02:09.000In many races in the state, actually, you now have the Democrats are spending tons of money to prop up the Republican that they want to run against in the general.
00:02:17.000It's this sort of pick your opponent strategy.
00:02:19.000Fortunately, we don't have any shenanigans like that in my race.
00:02:24.000There are two Democrats on the ballot.
00:02:26.000So you're very likely to have a Dem on Republican runoff.
00:02:29.000And I've gotten the support of President Trump.
00:02:32.000Things are going well, and we're just trying to get across the finish line here.
00:02:35.000It's the only open seat in Congress that's a Republican district in California.
00:02:40.000So it's a really important one in terms of winning back the majority and making it be the right type of majority that's actually going to do something to get the country back on track.
00:02:48.000So this kind of crazy system, is it conceivable that you'll be up against another Republican coming in in November?
00:02:54.000It's conceivable, and that does happen.
00:02:56.000I mean, more often, it's two Democrats running against one another.
00:02:59.000And it's theoretically possible, although in this case, it's probably very unlikely.
00:03:02.000Okay, so it's likely that it will be you and a Democrat, basically.
00:03:27.000Tell us about what are your, what are the people in your district worried about?
00:03:31.000What are the top issues on their mind?
00:03:33.000Well, I think people are seeing, you know, everything that has happened in California with Gavin Newsom, the Democrat supermajority, which is driving our state into the ground.
00:03:41.000They see that now Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden are doing the same thing to the country.
00:03:45.000And so there is sort of a desire and demand for change, unlike anything I've ever seen in politics.
00:03:51.000And I've been fighting these battles in California against Newsome, against the Democrats at the Capitol.
00:03:56.000And, you know, that's sort of the mentality I'm going to take to Congress to make sure that we do not let these radical failed policies ruin our country in the same way they're ruining our state.
00:04:06.000But if the particular issues, I mean, number one is inflation or immigration are probably the top two, rising crime rates and all of the mandates and just sort of authoritarian policies that we've gotten used to in California and that have been adopted by the Biden administration.
00:04:22.000Those are probably the things at the top of the list.
00:04:40.000Some of the, you know, this district, for example, this is a lean Republican district.
00:04:44.000It is absolutely a seat that we need to win if we're going to take back control of Congress.
00:04:48.000And so California is one of the most important battlegrounds when it comes to winning back the House.
00:04:54.000But beyond that, you know, Gavin Newsom has said that California is a model for the nation.
00:05:00.000And there's this sense that, you know, as California goes, so goes the country for better or worse.
00:05:05.000And so that's what I say to all the folks who are leaving our state.
00:05:08.000People are leaving California right now in record numbers because of these dramatic policy failures, is that if the same thing happens to America, then where are you going to go?
00:05:17.000And so I've tried to, that's one of the points I've tried to make in this campaign is that California has a very important role to play in the battles ahead to tell our story, just to tell the story of California's decline, of how we have out of control homelessness, surging crime, crumbling infrastructure, more poverty than any state in the country, failing public schools.
00:05:37.000The list goes on and it is a direct result of the radical failed policies that we've in politics that we've had in this state.
00:05:43.000And so when we look at taking back the House of Representatives, I think that activists and donors in particular, even people that just give like 100 bucks and 50 bucks there, which are so important, they need to recognize and realize there's battleground districts in every state, in Illinois and in California and in New York.
00:05:59.000Do you feel at times that, you know, it's tough to kind of get national support in California?
00:06:04.000It's kind of just like we're going to raise the money and then go bring it elsewhere.
00:06:08.000Yeah, you know, there has been that sense, especially when it comes to the state level.
00:06:12.000But I think that, you know, folks realize that when it comes to control of Congress, California has the most seats in Congress.
00:06:19.000And so we absolutely need to have donors and activists and volunteers active in the seats that are winnable here.
00:06:25.000And we have some really good pickup opportunities across the state.
00:06:28.000The district I'm running in, by the way, is an open seat.
00:07:24.000For the last couple of years, we finally reached a breaking point where more people are leaving California that are coming, despite all of the natural advantages that you just alluded to.
00:07:33.000But there are also a lot of people staying and saying we're going to stay and fight.
00:07:36.000And by the way, it's not just Republicans.
00:07:38.000So look what's going on in San Francisco right now.
00:07:40.000San Francisco is like the most liberal city in the entire country.
00:07:44.000They already recalled three of their school board members by overwhelming margins, like 75% of the vote.
00:07:50.000These were school board members who refused to open schools who are all on board with the draconian mandates.
00:07:55.000The citizens of San Francisco recalled these people overwhelmingly.
00:07:59.000And in the election tomorrow, the polls indicate that their district attorney, the Soros-backed DA, who's refused to prosecute anyone, he's going to be recalled from office overwhelmingly.
00:08:08.000We're seeing a similar thing happen in Los Angeles.
00:08:11.000And so I do think, and I see it, by the way, every place I go.
00:08:14.000When I hold campaign events, I have people who tell me they've never voted Republican before.
00:08:18.000They're going to vote differently this year because they've just had it, because they've seen the results of these radical failed policies.
00:08:25.000And, you know, they're ready to try something new.
00:08:28.000Yeah, I think that's really important.
00:08:29.000And also, Gascon movement is also big.
00:08:32.000Tomorrow, they also, they might, you might get a non-commie mayor tomorrow in LA, Caruso, who I don't know where he stands on stuff, but I'm being told by even conservatives in LA, he's not terrible.
00:08:47.000I mean, I'm not, I don't live in LA and have no plans to live in LA, but certainly a you know, a non non-left-winger as a mayor of LA would be great.
00:08:57.000So, in closing, here, you would be part of a freshman class that I think would have to operate with a pretty, you know, let's say a sense of urgency.
00:09:06.000People are fed up, people want answers.
00:09:08.000You know, you go into Congress, what would kind of be your niche?
00:09:11.000Every congressman tries to find a niche.
00:09:13.000What policies, what issues, what topics would you take if elected to Congress?
00:09:19.000Well, first, what you said is so important that we need to actually have a Congress that's going to go and do something.
00:09:24.000When I talk to people who are Republicans, who are activists, they are as frustrated often with the Republicans as the Democrats because we get control of Congress, we get a majority, and then we don't do anything with it.
00:09:33.000And so, even if we don't have the White House in the next two years, we need to actually step forward and take action immediately by using the full investigatory and oversight powers of the House of Representatives to rein in the Biden administration to stop this agenda from going even an inch forward further.
00:09:48.000But I think that, you know, for me, I think that the number one priority of the new Congress is going to be to turn the economy around.
00:09:54.000I mean, people are feeling the effects of outrageous gas prices and inflation in all facets of their life.
00:09:59.000And so, if we can step forward with immediate solutions there, then that's going to set us on the right path to win back the White House as well in 2024.
00:10:10.000I met Kevin and I live in his district.
00:10:12.000The only reason I would not vote for him is because California still needs him badly.
00:10:16.000But since I, too, believe we need to take back the country and we'll be part of a max mass exodus from the state, I'd love to see him in Congress.
00:10:48.000Look, as you know, our friend Mike Lindell has amazing passion and especially has a passion to help everyone get the best sleep of their life.
00:10:54.000He didn't stop by simply creating the best pillow.

00:11:39.000So you have the whole drag queen circus that is ongoing in Dallas.
00:11:45.000And we have our young women's leadership summit, which is now, it's really been an interesting thing because usually when we have one of these conferences, the media reaction is immediate.
00:11:54.000There's been a little bit of a delay effect.
00:11:56.000I think the media might have been too busy at pride parades or something over the weekend.
00:12:02.000And so now they're all kind of cascading down to cover our women's summit, trying their best to try to find something wrong with our event.
00:12:12.000And there was nothing wrong with our event.
00:12:13.000I thought it was the best event we have to date.
00:12:16.000And credit to our Turning Point USA events team that did a phenomenal job and credit to our field staff.
00:12:22.000They did such an amazing job to get people there.
00:12:24.000And you know, it was so awesome is when we asked how many of you this was your first young women's leadership summit, I'd say 80% of the hands go up.
00:12:52.000She says, I'm a reporter for the Daily Dot.
00:12:54.000We're covering criticisms of your recent summit for young women, at which speaker after speaker urged the crowd of 15 to 26-year-old women to get married, have children, and be subservient to their husbands.
00:13:04.000Okay, first of all, no one said to be subservient to their husbands.
00:13:07.000We did say that as women and as wives, be open to being led.
00:14:49.000I don't think there's a fair hearing for the entire kind of journey that you could be on to find a partner and marry them.
00:14:59.000I don't think that is properly presented to young people at all.
00:15:02.000Everyone else says, go be a boss babe and go graduate from college and go work for some weird company, earn all your money and travel the world.
00:15:12.000And then when you're 32 or 33, you could start looking.
00:15:14.000And the problem is, you might not find an adequate partner at that age.
00:15:59.000Obviously, if there's something that has worked for a long period of time, why wouldn't we want to urge young people to go do that beautiful thing?
00:16:08.000And by the way, there also wasn't like a shaming.
00:16:11.000Like, if you don't do these things, you know, you're never going to, it's like, it's just, instead, it's a glorification of the beautiful good, the good, the true, and the beautiful.
00:16:27.000You mean that there might be something to the fact that women were actually happier at a certain period of time than like going to pursue a corporate career at all costs?
00:16:37.000Every study shows that women that are married and have children by the age of 35 or 40 are much happier in every single category than women that are not.
00:16:48.000Again, make whatever decision you want.
00:17:34.000So when you want to consolidate your debt and use equity in your home to do so to lower your monthly expenses, you have to use my friends, Andrew and Todd, at andrewandtodd.com.
00:17:45.000You have to know what you're going through.
00:17:47.000So look, I just had dinner with Andrew and Todd in Orange County.
00:18:43.000I hang out with them casually and I've got to know them really well.
00:18:46.000They'll treat you right and that when you use them, you're not using Citibank or Chase or these people that hate your values, that believe in this trans nonsense.
00:18:54.000Don't use those banks, diversity, equity, inclusion banks.
00:19:03.000You might say, oh, Charlie, I don't need to refinance or whatever.
00:19:05.000Well, maybe you will two months from now.
00:19:07.000Maybe you young millennials out there, maybe the millennials listening to our show, my fellow millennials, you're going to buy a home soon.
00:19:13.000Maybe you're getting married and you want to buy something.
00:19:14.000It's AndrewandTodd.com for a quick mortgage checkup.
00:19:18.000Use the equity in your home before it's too late.
00:20:37.000Okay, there is a couple primary races that are heating up and bubbling up across the country, and one in the beautiful, amazing state of Alabama in particular, that is promising to kind of be an inflection point of what is the direction we want the United States Senate to go in.
00:20:53.000And there's been all sorts of kind of drama around this race.
00:21:24.000You guys have a great reputation in the state of Alabama for conservative values and in particular, moral values, which are so absent in Washington, D.C.
00:23:13.000It was bipartisan, headed up by Democrat President Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan, White House Chief of Staff James Baker.
00:23:20.000And they warned that if these problems are not fixed, then you're going to have winners declared losers and losers declared winners.
00:23:27.000And instead of fixing the problems, what the Democrats did was look at that report and exploited the systemic weaknesses that the Commission on Federal Election Reform had identified.
00:23:44.000I'm against, it's in a Republican primary theoretically, but my principal opponent has become the Democrat nominee in the Republican primary.
00:23:52.000This past Friday, the executive director of the Alabama Democratic Party made some very strong words in favor of electing Katie Britt to the United States Senate.
00:24:03.000So that gives you an idea of what I'm up against.
00:24:05.000It's not only the Democratic Party, but also it's the Powercrats in Washington, D.C., the Mitch McConnells of the world, the special interest.
00:24:12.000So it's the people versus the Democrats and the Powercrats.
00:24:15.000And I hope the American people, particularly the people of the state of Alabama, will do their homework to discern what is in the best interest of our country.
00:24:23.000And if they do their homework, then I'm comfortable that we'll win that election.
00:24:27.000So you and I both have a lot of respect for President Trump.
00:24:30.000There's just kind of been some confusion for some people with that whole deal.
00:24:34.000And part of us endorsing you is I'm going to encourage the president to re-endorse you.
00:24:41.000Can you kind of help our audience through that?
00:24:43.000I think it's, I think we have to have a light heart about it, right?
00:25:05.000Katie Britt, my foe in this primary, is clearly never Trump, anti-MAGA, a part of the Mitch McConnell machine.
00:25:13.000She's a part of the special interests that run Washington, D.C., what we call the swamp.
00:25:17.000And for that matter, she's a part of the swamp in as much as she's been a professional lobbyist five of the last seven years.
00:25:23.000You can't get any more of a swamp creature than being one of the registered lobbyists who push special interest agendas rather than what's in the best interest of our country.
00:25:32.000So hopefully the people of the state of Alabama will figure this out slowly, but surely they are.
00:25:37.000We hit rock bottom after Donald Trump withdrew his endorsement back in March for a number of reasons, but you really have to get to him.
00:25:44.000I'm not sure if I'm the right person to explain what I think is the primary reason that he withdrew his endorsement.
00:25:50.000But since then, as the public has figured out that I am the MAGA candidate, that I am the conservative in this race, that my opponent is being supported by the Democrat Party, they're coming aboard and they're coming aboard strong.
00:26:03.000I've got a quote from the executive director of the Alabama Democratic Party that was uttered this past Friday.
00:26:09.000It's a tweet, so it only takes about 30 seconds.
00:26:11.000If you want me to read it to you, please do.
00:26:33.000So he has inside knowledge, good knowledge about what Katie Britt did to help elect a liberal pro-abortion candidate in the state of Alabama.
00:26:44.000Super helpful to us in the Doug Jones thing in 2017 and showed real leadership in supporting the gas tax increase for needed infrastructure improvements.
00:26:53.000I think the world of her, most Dems understand she just has to say certain things, end quote, in order to win a Republican primary.
00:27:02.000And if you've kept track of this campaign, I've tried to do the honorable thing, describing things in a truthful fashion, while the other side of the coin, they have been unabashedly, unashamably, stridently dishonest, both in attacking my reputation and my record.
00:27:20.000And the same thing with Mike Durant, who's an American war hero and who also has helped create hundreds of good paying jobs in the Tennessee Valley part of the state of Alabama.
00:28:03.000I think that would be a good contrast point with your opponent talking about kind of the mass immigration versus putting our citizens first.
00:28:10.000Jeff Sessions and I were covering copies of each other concerning border security and the huge influx of illegal alien labor that is undermining American jobs and wages of struggling American families.
00:28:22.000I'm willing to do anything I can possibly do to give us border security and protect American families from the unfair competition of these surges of cheap foreign labor that the Chamber of Commerce, masters of the universe crowd, want to inflict upon struggling American families.
00:28:41.000And so Jeff Sessions and I teamed together to help stop the Gang of Eight Amnesty Bill in the latter part of the Obama administration.
00:28:49.000When Paul Ryan was the Speaker of the House, I was the guy that reached an agreement with Paul Ryan that Paul Ryan signed that said there will be no amnesty of any kind voted on the House floor unless first there is a vote of the GOP conference approving that amnesty legislation.
00:29:06.000So I fight the Democrats tooth and nail.
00:29:09.000Unfortunately, I'm also forced to fight rhino Republicans who support open borders and cheap foreign labor because there's money in it for their campaigns from the United States Chamber of Commerce, from Big Ag, from a lot of different special interest groups that again care more about their profit than they care about the United States of America and the American citizens who are being hurt by these tsunamis of cheap foreign labors.
00:29:32.000Absolutely the worst thing to do when you have horrible inflation that is undermining wages.
00:29:40.000I just want everyone to understand the significance of that answer because that question is one that moderate Republicans can't hide from.
00:29:49.000They could talk a good game on inflation.
00:29:51.000You probably have an identical shtick.
00:29:53.000They could talk an okay game on taxes, but immigration, they can't hide from it because the Chamber of Commerce, they want mass amounts of foreign labor to pour into America that would depress jobs in Alabama.
00:30:12.000Katie Britt was the president of the representative of the United States Chamber of Commerce in the state of Alabama, and she is an open borders, cheap foreign labor lobbyist and supporter.
00:30:24.000Because every single special interest group that profits from cheap foreign labor has endorsed Katie Britt in this Senate race, and they are funding her campaign with millions of dollars.
00:30:34.000That's what's funding these dishonest attack ads against me.
00:30:40.000I mean, we don't like the chamber at all.
00:30:41.000And you can go read the Chamber of Commerce's website, Mass Foreign Labor.
00:30:45.000By the way, they're pushing all this transgender stuff now, diversity, equity, inclusion.
00:30:50.000Remember, the chamber is for mass, not just mass immigration, but cheap foreign products from foreign countries coming in.
00:30:58.000So that's a really important distinction.
00:31:00.000And that's something that I really think that Senator Sessions, who I honestly look back, wish he never would have left the Senate in some sense, because he was good on those issues.
00:31:08.000He was really good on the immigration trade issue.
00:31:13.000On border security, absolutely the best in the United States Senate.
00:31:16.000Yeah, and he just totally messed up on the Russia recusal thing.
00:31:18.000And so I just want to reemphasize for our audience: you know, if you have friends in Alabama, we got to kind of get a grassroots thing going here.
00:31:30.000You have to have a legitimate excuse in order to get an absentee ballot, such as you're handicapped and can't get to the polls or you're out of state, something big.
00:31:38.000We do not do this horrible mass mail out of ballots that causes so much voter fraud.
00:31:47.000Free speech, religious liberty, the Second Amendment.
00:31:50.000Across the country, your constitutional rights are under constant attack, and it's only getting worse by the day, which is why I am proud to support Patriot Mobile.
00:31:57.000They're not just America's only Christian conservative cell phone provider.
00:32:00.000They're one of the few companies fighting back.

00:32:41.000That's patriotmobile.com slash Charlie or call 972 Patriot.
00:32:47.000So let's talk about another issue here, which is trade.
00:32:50.000Alabama is well known as being a strong manufacturing state, the backbone of some of the kind of industrial prowess that America has enjoyed over the last 100 years, in particular, the ability to make iron.
00:33:06.000So tell us, what is your stance on trade and why is that Republicans can't get their act together?
00:33:13.000Well, the reason the Republicans don't get their act together is, again, follow the money.
00:33:18.000By way of example, Mitch McConnell is famous for believing in power politics.
00:33:23.000And the way you get the money to deploy power politics tactics in a campaign is you do what the special interest groups want you to do.
00:33:31.000And if you do that, then you'll get rewarded with tens of millions of dollars that you can then use in elections with which to pummel your opponents with negative false attack ads.
00:33:41.000I disagree with that method of government.
00:33:43.000I believe that the challenge is for us to do a good job.
00:33:46.000And if we do a good job, then the public will re-elect us.
00:33:49.000And that's an anathema to the Mitch McConnell team and the way in which they try to govern things.
00:33:54.000That is one of the reasons why they do not want me in the United States Senate.
00:33:58.000After all, I am one of the founding members of the House Freedom Caucus.
00:34:01.000You know, people like Mark Meadows, Mick Mulvaney, Jim Jordan, Ron DeSantis down in Florida.
00:34:09.000We only invite people to participate if we believe that they're both conservative and they have the backbone to fight for the conservative values that they say they believe in when they're running for election.
00:34:21.000So on foreign policy, excuse me, foreign trade, we have to recognize that there are some entities around the globe that take advantage of us, China being the number one perpetrator of unfair trade practices against the United States of America.
00:34:37.000That's why we have over $300 billion a year that hemorrhages from our economy to the Chinese Communist Party's economy.
00:34:47.000We don't have fair trade laws with Communist China.
00:34:51.000And by way of example, they use slave labor.
00:34:54.000And an American manufacturer cannot compete against slave labor.
00:34:57.000So we have to be extraordinarily tough against the Communist Chinese Party's way of competing unfairly against American manufacturers.
00:35:09.000And if we'll balance that playing field a little bit, then we'll have some of those manufacturing jobs returning to the United States of America, and Americans will have a better opportunity to make a better living.
00:35:34.000Can you just give our listeners and the people listening in Alabama just kind of a final guarantee that you're going to go to the Senate and you're going to really fight?
00:35:42.000You're not just going to go to get along.
00:35:44.000Because I think that's a big concern that people have, which is people that say one thing and they do the other, and then you just kind of vote for them in the general because it's a lesser of two evils.
00:35:54.000Well, you can look at my background to rest assured that I'm going to do what I say I'm going to do because I've held elected office.
00:35:59.000My opponent has not been so much elected to the position of dog catcher or anything better than that.
00:36:05.000So in effect, my opponent can parrot back to the public what the polls say that she should say, regardless of whether she believes what she's really saying.
00:36:13.000And quite frankly, there are a lot of instances in which she flip-flops diametrically opposing positions.
00:36:18.000And then there are also a lot of instances in which she says one thing to get your vote, which is diametrically opposed to her history.
00:36:25.000By way of example, she signed Grover Norquest no taxes pledge after having her history in the state of Alabama is raising more taxes than any other Republican candidate in the history of the state of Alabama.
00:36:44.000You can verify that I'm going to do what I say I'm going to do.
00:36:46.000That's why you know I'm going to be strong on border security because I've done it.
00:36:50.000That's why Numbers USA has given me an A-plus grade every single year in the United States Congress.
00:36:55.000You know I'm pro-life because I've done it.
00:36:57.000And that's why National Right to Life has graded me an A every year I've been in the United States Congress.
00:37:02.000You know I'm going to defend the Second Amendment right to bear arms because I've done it.
00:37:05.000That's why the NRA, Gun Owners of America, the National Association of Gun Rights have all endorsed me for the United States Senate and the state of Alabama.
