00:01:25.000 Joining us now is the legendary Citizen Kane from CitizenFreePress.com.
00:01:29.000 It's been too long.
00:01:31.000 Mr. Kane, welcome back to the program.
00:01:33.000 Glad to be here.
00:01:34.000 I'm ready to do battle.
00:01:36.000 What, 70 days and a wake-up?
00:01:39.000 Right on the horizon here, Mr. Cain, I'm looking at our calendar.
00:01:43.000 It is officially 68 days until Judgment Day.
00:01:48.000 We are 8 days from North Carolina starting to vote.
00:01:52.000 Let me say that again.
00:01:53.000 In 8 days, North Carolina starts voting.
00:01:56.000 In 18 days, Pennsylvania starts voting.
00:01:59.000 In 26 days, Wisconsin starts voting.
00:02:03.000 And in 39 days, Arizona starts voting.
00:02:06.000 Cain, we are in the season right now.
00:02:08.000 Yeah.
00:02:09.000 And in 13 days, we have the first debate finally agreed to on ABC, September 10th.
00:02:15.000 And so hopefully that, you know, it's funny, you mentioned North Carolina.
00:02:18.000 That's a state we didn't even think we were going to have to really worry about.
00:02:21.000 I mean, it was still sort of within the margin of error, um, a month ago, six weeks ago.
00:02:28.000 And polls, you know, polls have shown some different things, but I've been reading a lot.
00:02:32.000 I'm sure you have too, from Rich Barras.
00:02:34.000 The People's Fund and his analysis of a lot of these polls.
00:02:38.000 And I'm still feeling confident, Charlie.
00:02:40.000 I feel that we have a different level of ground game.
00:02:43.000 We have a different sort of approach to ballot harvesting.
00:02:47.000 I feel like in Pennsylvania, we're registering truck drivers.
00:02:52.000 In Pennsylvania, we're registering out-of-state fraternity brothers at, you know, the 20 or 25 large colleges and universities.
00:03:02.000 I feel like we've made substantial changes since 2020 when we had great turnout, fantastic turnout, 75 million record turnout, in fact, and I feel a number is coming higher than 80 million.
00:03:15.000 You know, we talked about 100 million votes for Trump.
00:03:18.000 That's sort of our, has been our rallying cry, but I feel like we're going to have another bump up just like we did in 2020.
00:03:26.000 What are you feeling in the last four or five days?
00:03:29.000 Well, I definitely have seen the data start to normalize and stabilize.
00:03:34.000 So even the Hill-Emerson poll, which is a left-leaning poll, came out this morning, had Trump up three in Arizona, had Trump up one in North Carolina, up one in Wisconsin, and tied in Pennsylvania with leaners to Trump.
00:03:46.000 With that map, Cain, even if he falls short in Nevada, Georgia, and Michigan, he is the 47th President of the United States.
00:03:54.000 If you win Pennsylvania, you win Arizona, Wisconsin.
00:03:57.000 Now that's a goofy map, but Kamala Harris and her campaign, they absolutely see a path in Georgia.
00:04:03.000 We have work to do.
00:04:04.000 The Kemp Feud did not buy us any time.
00:04:08.000 Thankfully that is healed, right?
00:04:11.000 The Kemp-Trump feud is healed, and I'm glad to see that.
00:04:15.000 We don't have time for that right now.
00:04:16.000 We're too late.
00:04:17.000 Again, I'm not a Kemp fan, but we're too late in the cycle for that kind of stuff.
00:04:20.000 Absolutely.
00:04:22.000 So Georgia, that's why Kamala Harris is doing this two-day bus tour.
00:04:27.000 She also has her CNN interview tonight with them in Georgia.
00:04:32.000 But even with that, so Arizona up three.
00:04:34.000 That's a nice sampling size.
00:04:38.000 We'll take it.
00:04:38.000 Not sure if that's accurate, but North Carolina up one.
00:04:41.000 Everyone I talk to feels very, very good about North Carolina.
00:04:44.000 Wisconsin, Trump up one.
00:04:46.000 Now, I'm going to play this cut.
00:04:47.000 It's cut 106.
00:04:48.000 It's Mark Halperin, who basically foreshadowed this Emerson poll and is saying, hey guys, just so you know, there's both private and public polling that is coming that is not going to be great for Kamala Harris, and you might see her path start to shrink.
00:05:03.000 This would explain why Kamala Harris is doing a bus tour in Georgia.
00:05:08.000 This would explain it.
00:05:09.000 Because it means that she's trying to open the map while she still has time.
00:05:13.000 And she's picking the one sunbelt state that is the best for her.
00:05:16.000 And she's right.
00:05:17.000 Georgia, by far, would be the best for her.
00:05:19.000 It's the blackest.
00:05:20.000 It's the most college-educated.
00:05:22.000 Arizona is just much a tougher lift for her than that.
00:05:24.000 So she's looking for one sunbelt state where she could throw a little bit of uncertainty in.
00:05:28.000 Let's play Cut 106.
00:05:30.000 There's some public polling already.
00:05:31.000 There's more coming.
00:05:32.000 And there's some private polling that suggests that nationally in the battleground states, She's not ahead.
00:05:40.000 She might be ahead on paper, but well within the margin of error.
00:05:44.000 And there's some battleground states now where I think Donald Trump's, on this trajectory, is going to be ahead.
00:05:50.000 And it may be, regardless of what happens in the interview and regardless what happens in the debate, it may be that by the middle of September, when things have calmed down, when the Trump campaign have had time to prey on some of the weaknesses that I suggested, that he's ahead in all the Sun Belt states.
00:06:08.000 and ahead in Pennsylvania, and competitive in Michigan and Wisconsin, which would be roughly
00:06:14.000 where Joe Biden was before the debate, with a single path to 270 electoral votes, the three
00:06:22.000 Great Lakes states and Nebraska too. And that would be a scary position for the Democratic
00:06:27.000 Party to be in from mid-September through Election Day.
00:06:30.000 Kane, your reaction?
00:06:32.000 Yeah, I hadn't seen that Halbron clip.
00:06:34.000 Before I give my reaction, I got a question, Charlie.
00:06:37.000 So you said Trump, Arizona, plus three in the Emerson poll.
00:06:40.000 Do you remember where Trump was polling in 2020 in Arizona?
00:06:44.000 Yeah, he was down consistently two or three points at this period of time.
00:06:47.000 Consistently.
00:06:48.000 Okay.
00:06:48.000 So that fits the pattern, right?
00:06:50.000 So that's that plus five pattern that we've seen in both 2016 and 2020.
00:06:55.000 Where Trump outperforms the polls because MAGA voters, Republican voters in general, tend to avoid polls.
00:07:00.000 All of these reasons.
00:07:02.000 So that fits the pattern.
00:07:03.000 So, so I'm confident with, with that, with that Arizona plus three number.
00:07:09.000 I mean, look, I was confident in 2020 going in down minus three.
00:07:13.000 I was confident all the way up.
00:07:16.000 I knew, you know, after having seen what happened in 2016 and the shy Trump voter effect, I was confident.
00:07:22.000 So I don't mind these numbers, Charlie.
00:07:24.000 And you've seen it in the stack a couple of times with my headlines.
00:07:28.000 You know, I want us to stop feeling sorry for ourselves.
00:07:30.000 And it's happened.
00:07:31.000 You know, that has ended.
00:07:32.000 And I'm glad the president and others in his camp are no longer doing that.
00:07:36.000 I don't care that we quote unquote got a wrong deal.
00:07:38.000 And he already beat Biden.
00:07:40.000 And now he's got to beat a second candidate.
00:07:42.000 We don't care.
00:07:44.000 Look, the Democrat record is one that they can't run on.
00:07:47.000 We're ready to do battle.
00:07:49.000 I look at that as a challenge.
00:07:51.000 I say we face it.
00:07:53.000 And also, let's stay positive and stay realistic and listen to what guys like Halprin are saying and remember this sort of polling deficit.
00:08:04.000 I've got to interrupt here, Kane.
00:08:06.000 Rush used to talk about it.
00:08:07.000 There is a propaganda campaign done by the media networks to deflate our base.
00:08:12.000 Do you agree?
00:08:13.000 A hundred percent.
00:08:14.000 Of course.
00:08:15.000 Of course.
00:08:15.000 And it's happening!
00:08:16.000 And so we must resist that, right?
00:08:18.000 We must resist the propaganda campaign, the psychological warfare that's trying to deflate us.
00:08:24.000 Yes.
00:08:26.000 And here's the thing, you know, some people, you haven't seen it, but I get it in my comments, people have gotten on me.
00:08:30.000 Cain, Cain, why are you posting these MSN polls?
00:08:33.000 Why are you posting polls showing Kamala with leads?
00:08:36.000 Well, if you want to know the reason why, first, for the first two weeks, it was to wake people up.
00:08:40.000 That was the sole purpose.
00:08:42.000 I wanted the people to know that there was a battle ahead.
00:08:44.000 That this wasn't Joe Biden.
00:08:46.000 That it was a new battle we're gonna have to fight.
00:08:48.000 So I wanted to slap some people in the face with a little polling reality.
00:08:52.000 It doesn't mean that I don't understand that this is a propaganda effort done through how they sample these polls, who they choose to poll.
00:09:00.000 So I understand.
00:09:01.000 But at the same time, we needed to be woken up after sort of, you know, look, after Trump's RNC And where Biden was polling and before he was replaced, we were looking at winning all seven swing states plus five others.
00:09:14.000 I mean, we were looking at potential 350 electoral votes.
00:09:17.000 So I think we needed to be woken up.
00:09:20.000 and perhaps I know I personally forgot about the Obama media effect. I forgot
00:09:25.000 about the hope and change love and I forgot what the media could do if they
00:09:29.000 were excited about a Democrat candidate. So that so I underestimated the bounce
00:09:33.000 that Kamala would get. I'll admit that straight up but once it's there I
00:09:36.000 wanted to wake people up let them know it's there and let's fight let's fight
00:09:40.000 now it's 68 days. It's eight days since North Carolina votes.
00:09:46.000 There is no more time.
00:09:48.000 Every day is an eternity.
00:09:50.000 And again, they're going to have sentencing.
00:09:51.000 They might try to do monkey pox, bird flu, lobster flu, swine flu, salt and pepper flu.
00:09:56.000 I don't know what they're going to try to do, OK?
00:09:58.000 They're going to throw the whole thing at us.
00:10:00.000 But Nate Silver, I just want to repeat this.
00:10:04.000 Nate Silver, who's no longer with FiveThirtyEight, even though he has the Twitter handle, On August 14th, he gave Trump a 42% chance of winning.
00:10:11.000 Now, he has Trump as the favorite at a 52.4% chance of winning, which is consistent with all the data that we've seen.
00:10:20.000 With all the data that we've seen, Cain, that there seems to be a big slowing down.
00:10:24.000 Here's the analogy I give, is that they've been having an all-night rave at the Democrat Party, and the drugs are wearing off, and morning is here, and they have a heck of a hangover, and people are realizing they made a bad mistake.
00:10:40.000 Hey everybody, Charlie Kirk here.
00:10:41.000 What an unbelievable start to 2024.
00:10:43.000 We had last month saving babies with preborn by providing ultrasounds.
00:10:47.000 And we're doing again this year what we did last year.
00:10:49.000 We're going to stand for life because remaining silent in the face of the most radically pro-death administration is not an option.
00:10:55.000 As Sir Edmund Burke said, the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing, and we're not going to do nothing.
00:11:01.000 Your gift to preborn will give a girl the truth about what's happening in her body so that she can make the right choice.
00:11:07.000 $280 can save 10 babies.
00:11:09.000 $28 a month can save a baby a month all year long.
00:11:12.000 And a $15,000 gift will provide a complete ultrasound machine that will save thousands of babies for years and years to come.
00:11:18.000 And we'll also save moms from a lifetime of pain and regret.
00:11:22.000 Call 833-850-2229.
00:11:24.000 That's 833-850-2229.
00:11:26.000 Or click on the pre-born banner at charliekirk.com.
00:11:30.000 That is charliekirk.com and click on the pre-born banner.
00:11:33.000 Also save moms from a lifetime of pain and regret.
00:11:35.000 I'm a donor to this organization.
00:11:37.000 They're terrific.
00:11:37.000 Go to charliekirk.com and click on the pre-born banner.
00:11:43.000 Again, this is by no means we're going to win, but I do feel the data breaking.
00:11:46.000 What did I say earlier?
00:11:47.000 I felt it in the air.
00:11:48.000 I woke up and said, I just feel it.
00:11:51.000 I feel it happening.
00:11:53.000 And we were right.
00:11:54.000 The data is starting to break.
00:11:55.000 It's starting to normalize.
00:11:56.000 It's getting, again, the rave party is ending.
00:11:59.000 According to Nate Silver, he has Donald Trump at 52.4% chance, Kamala Harris at 47.3%.
00:12:06.000 August 14th, two weeks ago, about 56% chance for Kamala, 42% chance for Trump.
00:12:13.000 Cain, we have a debate coming up in 13 days, as you mentioned.
00:12:17.000 What are your concerns?
00:12:20.000 What are your, let's just say, pitfalls that you think Donald Trump should be ready to navigate?
00:12:26.000 And who has more to lose here?
00:12:28.000 Well, she, you know, according to regime media, she's in the lead everywhere.
00:12:32.000 So she obviously has more to lose.
00:12:34.000 I actually don't, I don't see any pitfalls.
00:12:36.000 I'm not worried about that debate.
00:12:37.000 Trump always rises and he does better.
00:12:40.000 The tougher the competition, it fires him up.
00:12:42.000 You can see it in his face.
00:12:43.000 I've seen it.
00:12:44.000 I've watched every debate very closely.
00:12:46.000 So I'm actually not worried.
00:12:47.000 I think that who, you know, who has been more afraid since this debate talk has been, has been thrown around for the last three weeks or a month.
00:12:55.000 I think it's been the Kamala campaign.
00:12:56.000 I think they're the ones.
00:12:58.000 We're kind of ducking and weaving and not agreeing and, and, uh, you know, so I'm, I'm actually not, not that worried about it.
00:13:05.000 You mentioned Halperin, you know, a couple of things, Halperin and Nate Silver.
00:13:09.000 I'm going to grab that tweet.
00:13:10.000 I love when I come on your show and I've got four things written down that are going to go into the stack because you've told me about them.
00:13:17.000 The Nate Silver stuff, the Halperin video.
00:13:21.000 Are both gonna be in there, as well as the Emerson poll.
00:13:23.000 Here's something we haven't talked about, Charlie.
00:13:25.000 I'm gonna call it the Steve Bannon, November 1st, I finally got my ass out of jail effect.
00:13:31.000 Like, how about that for a rallying cry?
00:13:33.000 You know, where do you want the most momentum?
00:13:36.000 I say you want the most momentum in the final five days.
00:13:39.000 When is Steve Bannon getting out of his 123-day persecution for a misdemeanor?
00:13:45.000 Let's remind people, a misdemeanor!
00:13:48.000 All right.
00:13:48.000 When is he getting out?
00:13:49.000 With five days to go.
00:13:51.000 I'm looking.
00:13:52.000 That's what's circled on my calendar.
00:13:54.000 The Steve Bannon effect.
00:13:55.000 Then what have we had in the last week?
00:13:57.000 What did you organize in Phoenix?
00:13:59.000 The Kennedy for Trump.
00:14:01.000 That thing blew up.
00:14:02.000 What?
00:14:04.000 17,000 people with 6,000 people who couldn't get in.
00:14:07.000 You know, on the outside, I think there's momentum there.
00:14:11.000 I think that's probably why Nate Silver is shifting his odds.
00:14:15.000 You know, all of this is coming home to roost.
00:14:17.000 And then the Halperin thing, right?
00:14:19.000 Maybe what Halperin is saying, and Halperin's a smart dude, is all of this hype is worth one freaking point.
00:14:26.000 That at the end of all this, when we're staring this thing down on November 1st, before the Bannon effect starts, That Kamala has gained maybe one point over Biden.
00:14:36.000 At that point, they're biting nails, sweating, sweating.
00:14:40.000 And here comes Steve Bannon.
00:14:41.000 So I tell you, man, I tell you, Charlie, I'm psyched.
00:14:44.000 I'm psyched for it.
00:14:45.000 And we have to do the work, right Cain?
00:14:47.000 I'm visiting over 21 college campuses trying to lose by less on college campuses.
00:14:50.000 We're not going to win the youth vote on these campuses, but we can lose by less and we can get young men out.
00:14:55.000 I'm doing events all across the country, doing ballot chasing.
00:14:58.000 We're hosting JD Vance next week.
00:15:00.000 We've got RFK coming very soon.
00:15:01.000 We've got stuff with Vivek on campus.
00:15:03.000 Got a lot happening here, Cain.
00:15:05.000 It is ground game, ground game, ground game.
00:15:06.000 The audience needs to get off the couch.
00:15:08.000 You need to go do the work.
00:15:10.000 Register voters.
00:15:11.000 Take out the Turning Point Action app.
00:15:12.000 CPaction.com slash vote.
00:15:14.000 Kane, what do you have to say to the audience member that says, ah, I hope Trump wins, but I don't know what I can do.
00:15:20.000 We need this to be a citizen force.
00:15:23.000 Citizen Kane.
00:15:24.000 100% registered.
00:15:25.000 Look, you just heard it from the hardest working man in show business.
00:15:28.000 Charlie may be too young to know that phrase.
00:15:30.000 I think that's what, if I'm not mistaken, I think that's what John Belushi demanded to be introduced at when he was doing all his Blues Brothers shows.
00:15:40.000 The hardest working man in Hollywood or in show business.
00:15:43.000 But Charlie and Andrew and Tyler are the hardest working dudes in politics.
00:15:49.000 These guys are all under 35, busting their asses for their children and their future grandchildren.
00:15:57.000 And I feel like the average person out there, it's register people to vote in the states where ballot harvesting is allowed.
00:16:04.000 Take it to your church.
00:16:06.000 Take it to your soccer game.
00:16:07.000 Take it to your gun range.
00:16:10.000 Take that voter registration forms, go to your local office, get a hundred of the forms, put them in your car and take them everywhere you go.
00:16:18.000 These kinds of little things.
00:16:20.000 I even think that's better than door knocking.
00:16:22.000 You know, let's, let's make every, let's make all small, small towns across the swing states.
00:16:27.000 Let's have the local Republican offices run out of registration forms.
00:16:31.000 Everybody hit them up, get a hundred, keep them with you at all times and hand them out to people.
00:16:36.000 That's the most common sense thing.
00:16:38.000 I can think of for a regular person to do.
00:16:40.000 Everyone needs to do their part.
00:16:42.000 To the waitress that's serving you food, start a conversation.
00:16:45.000 To your neighbor, to your aunt, to your uncle.
00:16:47.000 Download the TP Action app in the App Store and go chase ballots.
00:16:52.000 By the way, I've been seeing a lot of emails lately of people registering voters.
00:16:55.000 We gotta get back at it, everybody.
00:16:57.000 How many voters are you registering?
00:16:59.000 Ask people.
00:16:59.000 Are you registered to vote?
00:17:01.000 tpaction.com slash vote.
00:17:03.000 That's tpaction.com slash vote.
00:17:06.000 This show We're going to do our part to try to deliver the White House and save the country.
00:17:13.000 Joining us now is Michael Schellenberger, founder of Public, a Substack independent journalist.
00:17:18.000 Michael, welcome to the program.
00:17:19.000 Thank you for taking the time.
00:17:20.000 So, Michael, we could play some of this piece of tape here, but first I want to get your opening remarks on your take on Mark Zuckerberg's letter to Jim Jordan.
00:17:29.000 Great to be with you, Charlie.
00:17:31.000 I mean, the first thing I would say is that I think this is, we now have enough information for independent journalists like myself.
00:17:41.000 I'm not a partisan, I'm an independent, and I'm not even voting this year.
00:17:45.000 But I think there's enough information now to say that both the CIA and the FBI broke the law, broke at least two laws, the Wiretap Act and the Hatch Act, To interfere in the 2020 elections on behalf of Biden and against Trump.
00:18:04.000 And there was a detail in the Zuckerberg letter that wasn't there about Burisma.
00:18:09.000 It mirrors exactly the Aspen Institute's disinformation operation that it ran on behalf of the FBI for Biden and against Trump.
00:18:27.000 I think it's an understanding that many people have been working towards for a lot of time and people before I wrote about it were working on this and writing about it.
00:18:37.000 I now feel comfortable to say I think the evidence is now overwhelming that both CIA and FBI interfered in the 2020 elections.
00:18:44.000 To what extent did they interfere, and what did that mean for the end result, if you were to speculate?
00:18:50.000 Was it just kind of paperwork interference, or do you think, as a journalist, it had substantive, result-directed interference?
00:18:59.000 You mean, do I think it had an impact?
00:19:00.000 Yes, a material impact on the outcome.
00:19:02.000 Well, that's hard to say.
00:19:04.000 I mean, I think you start to get to... I mean, remember, we're not very good at Because the problem is we can't get inside people's minds and decisions and choices that people make are very complicated.
00:19:18.000 So it'd be hard to say definitively that the efforts of the U.S.
00:19:23.000 intelligence agencies were the decisive factor in Biden's defeat of Trump.
00:19:31.000 But I will say as somebody that voted for Biden, And saw the Hunter Biden laptop story.
00:19:36.000 I myself dismissed it as Russian disinformation because not just because of the 51 former CIA directors and other senior intelligence officials signed a letter saying that's what it was, but also because Twitter and Facebook And other seemingly independent institutions, both news media and social media, had said the same thing.
00:20:03.000 And so, you know, would that have changed my mind?
00:20:08.000 I don't know.
00:20:09.000 It's hard to say.
00:20:11.000 But I think that whether or not it would have changed the outcome of the election, the fact of it is extremely serious.
00:20:21.000 It's a, I mean, I can't think of anything else in American history where the intelligence and security agencies interfered in an election in such a shocking, coordinated, systematic way, and not once, but multiple times.
00:20:38.000 I mean, I just can't think of another time in American history.
00:20:40.000 Maybe there's some moment we haven't learned about, but I can't think of any point in American history where we've seen anything like that.
00:20:46.000 And of course, hundreds of years of Western liberal democratic governments have fought against that kind of thing. We don't want the
00:20:54.000 king's men to be able to arbitrarily break the law. We have constraints on both our law
00:21:03.000 enforcement officers and our intelligence agencies. It's sort of, it's really, it's like Magna Carta
00:21:12.000 level violation.
00:21:14.000 It's not just U.S.
00:21:16.000 constitutional violation.
00:21:17.000 It is a deep attack.
00:21:19.000 It's a violation of human rights.
00:21:22.000 It's a fundamental violation of human rights.
00:21:24.000 So the significance of it, I don't think we should race past.
00:21:27.000 Again, I don't think it depends.
00:21:28.000 The significance of the crime doesn't depend on how effective it was.
00:21:34.000 But it obviously was very effective because the initial CIA interference starts in 2016.
00:21:41.000 I mean, as late as 2016.
00:21:44.000 It's as far back as I feel comfortable saying that it went.
00:21:47.000 But CIA interference goes back to 2016.
00:21:51.000 So you're looking at a really sweeping counter-populist effort by American intelligence and security agencies spanning, you know, a very significant amount of time and arguably continuing.
00:22:04.000 I mean, I think not arguably, it is continuing in the sense that justice has not been served at a minimum.
00:22:11.000 Christopher Wray is still the director of the FBI, incredibly.
00:22:17.000 Gina Haspel, the former director of the CIA, has not been brought to account.
00:22:22.000 Nobody has been brought to account.
00:22:24.000 There's no real investigation into it.
00:22:27.000 Whatever people have called an investigation until now is obviously insufficient.
00:22:32.000 So I think it's a really serious moment, at least for people like me that have not been comfortable kind of coming out and saying so strongly what I felt the need to say over the last few days.
00:22:45.000 Hey everybody, Charlie Kirk here.

00:23:41.000 Check it out right now.
00:23:42.000 Wonderful organization, MyPillow.com.
00:23:44.000 This goes down to this idea, as you say, the Magna Carta in 1215 of June,
00:23:52.000 that the king is not above the law and that there's this idea above the king.
00:23:58.000 And of course, that eventually led to the birth of Western civilization and common law
00:24:03.000 and individual initiative and sovereignty and due process and checks and balances.
00:24:07.000 But yes, this idea that your intel agencies get to choose who your leaders are, that's a violation of like an 800-year unbroken chain, right?
00:24:16.000 Yes, certainly, and certainly in the liberal democratic period of the last several hundred years.
00:24:22.000 So then the question is, I mean, there's a lot of frustration online and people that have been, you know, making this point like yourself for a very, for a very long time.
00:24:30.000 And there's a lot of frustration and, um, yeah, I mean, I think there's a lot of, you know, there's a lot, I, for me, I think it's important that people that, that, that are not Trump supporters, that don't agree with Trump, that don't like Trump, that are not going to vote for Trump.
00:24:46.000 I would like for them to understand.
00:24:49.000 The significance of this because they don't understand it.
00:24:52.000 They don't want to understand it.
00:24:53.000 The media.
00:24:55.000 Was a participant in these crimes and they were inventing the they were participating the entire time.
00:25:02.000 In creating the Russia collusion hoax and the, you know, the big lie.
00:25:09.000 You know, that Trump is a Manchurian candidate for the Russians for Putin.
00:25:14.000 The media was part of that.
00:25:15.000 So they're not going to tell people.
00:25:18.000 But I just think I just kind of look forward and I go, you know, historians will know.
00:25:22.000 I mean, hopefully historians recognize what happens sooner rather than later.
00:25:28.000 But I think the evidence is now overwhelming for any kind of You know, anybody, any independent, reasonable person to look at the facts, you can't look at them and walk away saying, concluding anything other than the CIA and FBI interfered in the 2020 elections.
00:25:44.000 What's to stop them from interfering in this election?
00:25:47.000 Well, that's a very good question.
00:25:49.000 I mean, in some ways that is the most important question.
00:25:53.000 You know, and maybe they are.
00:25:53.000 I mean, we should we should consider that they might already be doing that.
00:25:59.000 You know, what's Interesting.
00:26:01.000 There's a lot that's interesting about this case.
00:26:04.000 You may know there's somebody named Martin Goury, who's a former CIA analyst.
00:26:09.000 He wrote one of the best books on the impact of the Internet on politics.
00:26:16.000 Yeah, not a Trump person at all.
00:26:19.000 He wrote, the book is called Revolt of the Public, and it's just about the power of social media for disintermediated direct access and conversations like the one we're having, but just social media being able so that a populist figure like Trump is not just, you know, Prevented from emerging as a serious candidate because he can speak directly to the public and how that's just a revolution as large as the print the invention of the printing press and its dissemination in the 15th and 16th centuries in Europe and all of the revolutions it resulted in and wars and as people dealt with the fact that they were able to communicate with each other, you know peer-to-peer communications and
00:27:06.000 When I did that Twitter, so my involvement in this goes back to this Twitter files thread on the Hunter Biden laptop.
00:27:15.000 One of the most important aspects of which is that I discovered and described what is clearly an FBI operation through the Aspen Institute.
00:27:26.000 To pre-bunk or preemptively brainwash a program, both all of the top journalists at all the major media outlets and the top censors in the social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter, so that to prepare them so that when they saw the Hunter Biden laptop, they would censor it.
00:27:45.000 Or they would, if they were journalists, they would cover it, but focus it in a way on this idea that it was Russian disinformation.
00:27:52.000 So that was run through this ostensibly independent NGO called the Aspen Institute, which is funded by the US government and was clearly working as a proxy front group.
00:28:05.000 You might call it an intermediary or cut out to engage in illegal political action that violates the Hatch Act by the FBI to run this disinformation operation.
00:28:21.000 When Martin Goury, to finish the story, when this amazing CIA analyst read it, we spoke and he just said, this is not what the CIA used to be.
00:28:31.000 There was a firewall between the CIA and the FBI.
00:28:35.000 The CIA and the FBI can't involve themselves in politics.
00:28:40.000 Obviously, it's illegal, but it's also just not the culture of those institutions.
00:28:45.000 Those are not institutions The directors of those institutions are supposed to go do nonpartisan work.
00:28:50.000 But after the election, and you know, they go be boring, he would say they would be boring after they were directors, they would go out and, you know, work on they work at boring think tanks, and it was very bipartisan.
00:29:01.000 This thing of these guys, the directors, the agents, the senior executives, the general counsel, these guys engaging in partisan politics, for Martin, it was just shocking.
00:29:13.000 You know, it's not something that those agencies had done.
00:29:17.000 And so this desire to undermine the presidency of Donald Trump and then interfere in the elections.
00:29:27.000 Is a real watershed in American society and I think, you know, it's very much of a Black Pill moment in the sense that I think it's very frightening to know that that was that has been going on and that those folks felt entitled to manipulate our minds.
00:29:45.000 And do they still feel that way?
00:29:46.000 Because it's a sense of they don't respect democracy.
00:29:49.000 They don't respect our Constitution.
00:29:51.000 They don't respect us as fellow humans and they are violating our rights.
00:29:56.000 So I mean the long story short.
00:29:58.000 Yeah.
00:29:58.000 I mean, I think we need to have we need to Be very vigilant in protecting our freedoms and watching these guys.
00:30:08.000 We reported on continued, we think, intelligence and security agency disinformation around Russia in Europe a few months ago in relationship to counter-populism against right-wing populist parties in Europe.
00:30:24.000 Definitely happening there.
00:30:26.000 Um, but yeah, we should, I think, be very vigilant that it could be happening now in some way that we don't understand or see, or that it will happen between now and the elections.
00:30:35.000 Michael, please plug your stuff, how the audience can support you.
00:30:38.000 Oh, sure.
00:30:38.000 Well, we love subscribers, preferably paid ones.
00:30:41.000 So, but either way, you can find me at Shellenberger at X.com or you can, and you can subscribe both to our, we give away a bunch of free content and then we, Have some for subscribers only and that's how we support our work.
00:30:55.000 It's all independent journalism.
00:30:57.000 And you can subscribe to us on X or at Substack and the Substack is called public.news.
00:31:04.000 You can find that online.
00:31:05.000 That's public.news.
00:31:06.000 So Michael, do you have any idea as to why Mark Zuckerberg was so candid in this letter?
00:31:11.000 You know that he could have dodged or weaved or had lawyers buttress him up against the committee.
00:31:16.000 It happens all the time.
00:31:17.000 You don't have to be that candid, and certainly not that candid publicly.
00:31:21.000 What was going into Zuckerberg's calculus here?
00:31:24.000 Well, it's a great question.
00:31:27.000 Obviously, none of us can get inside the mind of Mark Zuckerberg, but we can, of course, speculate.
00:31:33.000 And there's a lot of, I think, motivations he would have.
00:31:35.000 I mean, I think my read of it is that he and his team felt that they had not properly dealt yet with this issue and that it's a problem for them With, I assume with Republicans in particular, you know, and that's enough to really hurt the brand.
00:31:57.000 You know, Zuckerberg, everything he does has to be to maximize shareholder value for Medicorporation, which owns Facebook.
00:32:02.000 So I think they calculated they needed to, you know, and another way to read it is it's kind of a repositioning of Facebook back as a nonpartisan entity.
00:32:13.000 And it had to clean up these three issues, which was really the censorship on COVID, The Hunter Biden laptop, I mean, their involvement in the disinformation effort.
00:32:27.000 And then the third thing was Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg at the same time.
00:32:35.000 Zuckerberg said that the donations that he made in 2020 were nonpartisan, the sense among, I think, a lot of Republicans.
00:32:44.000 And you, I think, have been arguing this is that they were biased towards helping Democrats get out the vote.
00:32:50.000 And he said that he wouldn't be making any donations at all this year.
00:32:53.000 So, you know, I thought that it was, you know, it comes in a context where Zuckerberg also said that he admired Trump's response to the assassination attempt.
00:33:03.000 And it's notable that he says this, that in the document, in the letter, he said that, Uh, you know, that the, that he regrets succumbing to the pressure of the Biden White House.
00:33:17.000 You know, I think they were, that, that's a way of biting back a little bit.
00:33:21.000 Um, and, uh, you know, kind of, and, you know, and obviously throwing, you know, not taking, he did take responsibility, but also, you know, um, making the Biden administration own it a little bit as well.
00:33:34.000 I want to quickly go to Brazil here.
00:33:36.000 Brazil just froze Starlink assets in their country.
00:33:39.000 That's breaking news.
00:33:40.000 And can you just give our audience an update here on the significance of it?
00:33:44.000 Yeah, I mean, I was, I've been, I've been writing posts on X about it.
00:33:48.000 I, it's shocking.
00:33:50.000 I mean, I just couldn't, when I saw the article, so the headline is, in the absence of a representative for the X network in Brazil, the Supreme Court of Brazil has blocked Elon Musk's Starlink bank accounts.
00:34:05.000 I mean, it's basically Brazil has retaliated.
00:34:09.000 They're not able to arrest anybody from X in Brazil, which is what they want to do.
00:34:17.000 And so he's retaliating by freezing the bank accounts of a completely different corporation.
00:34:23.000 Which is Elon Musk's Starlink, which of course is this satellite internet service that Elon launched through SpaceX.
00:34:34.000 I mean, the two are sort of related, but it's the satellite communications network.
00:34:38.000 And it's been providing, you know, I think the service to a lot of really remote parts of Brazil, particularly in the Amazon.
00:34:45.000 And I think that's part of the Musk's appeal in Brazil has been related to this incredible technological breakthrough of the satellite Internet.
00:34:57.000 So this is just a gigantic move.
00:34:59.000 I mean, I posted, I go, you know, this is an attack now on not just free speech, but free markets and the rule of law.
00:35:08.000 Of course it is.
00:35:10.000 You can just roguely go after a separate company.
00:35:13.000 If President Trump wins, he should say, you know what, Brazil, we're going to put a 500% tariff on your lumber unless you fix this.
00:35:20.000 I only say that because imagine if Brazil all of a sudden came down, they said, we're not going to allow gay pride parades or whatever.
00:35:25.000 Our State Department would lose it, wouldn't it, Michael?
00:35:27.000 I mean, but when it comes to free speech or free markets... Yeah, absolutely.
00:35:31.000 And you're reading my mind in the same place.
00:35:35.000 I mean, look, Joe, President Biden must denounce this.
00:35:39.000 I mean, Vice President Kamala Harris...
00:35:42.000 I don't know what investors are going to do.
00:35:55.000 I'm not an investor, but Brazil is not a secure place for foreign investment.
00:35:59.000 That's the kind of punchline here.
00:36:01.000 And not a safe place for American investors.
00:36:03.000 I don't think that this is sort of the end of Brazil's attack on Free markets.
00:36:09.000 You know, this is potentially the beginning because we just saw they've been working for months to shut down free speech in Brazil.
00:36:14.000 It's just now they're doing amazing.
00:36:17.000 We will lecture Russia ad nauseum about how they're against free speech.
00:36:20.000 And then Brazil in our own hemisphere will have a mass move against free speech and nothing so far.
00:36:25.000 Michael Schellenberger, thank you so much.
00:36:26.000 Thanks so much for listening, everybody.
00:36:27.000 Email us as always Freedom at CharlieKirk.com.
00:36:30.000 Thanks so much for listening and God bless.
