00:01:14.000 Donald Trump Jr.
00:01:15.000 Don, welcome to the program.
00:01:16.000 Good to be with you, Charlie.
00:01:17.000 How's things?
00:01:18.000 Things are good.
00:01:19.000 So, Don, I hope you could clear something up for me.
00:01:21.000 There's this NBC news piece because I got to learn about my relationship with you and DJT via NBC News.
00:01:27.000 NBC News is telling me publicly that somehow my relationship with you and Trump world is not good.
00:01:35.000 Don, maybe you can walk me through this because NBC obviously knows us better than we know ourselves.
00:01:41.000 Well, obviously, I mean, I've read this so many times, you know, all the leaks that end up being nonsense.
00:01:46.000 I think we've all been a fly on the wall in those rooms, and then you see the reporting, and when none of it lines up, we shouldn't be surprised anymore.
00:01:53.000 But yes, I was unaware that there was any rift between you and I, Charlie, whatsoever.
00:01:58.000 Yeah, it's complete nonsense.
00:02:00.000 And leave it to NBC News to try to divide us as we head into 2024.
00:02:05.000 Despite me being repeatedly clear, I'm back in Trump, and we're going to win the White House back.
00:02:11.000 Okay, Don, I want to get your thoughts on something.
00:02:14.000 You know, you've had a contrarian opinion, and I totally agree with it, on Ukraine.
00:02:19.000 It seems like the consensus in the Republican Party is to get us closer and closer to a war in Ukraine.
00:02:25.000 How should we think about Ukraine and how should MAGA think about the war in Ukraine?
00:02:30.000 Well, listen, I mean, Russia's clearly an aggressor, but they're also a nuclear power.
00:02:35.000 You have two incredibly corrupt nations, and I think you have basically a large-scale money laundering operation going on there right now.
00:02:42.000 We've sent $130 billion to be in a proxy war with a despot who's, you know, been embarrassed on a world stage, and that's Putin, in one of the great underperformances in the history of military actions.
00:02:58.000 That can lead nowhere good.
00:03:00.000 But as long as the military-industrial complex is getting rich, as long as we're creating an oligarch class in Ukraine with all the money and missiles and weapons and all the things that they have no systems to track, everyone at the top is getting rich.
00:03:18.000 People are dying needlessly.
00:03:19.000 I mean, until we turn off the endless blank check, I don't think there's any incentive for anyone to ever come to the table.
00:03:27.000 And, you know, again, more people are going to die.
00:03:30.000 And we're going to create an oligarch class in Ukraine that's going to be rich off of your taxpayer dollars that we can't account for.
00:03:37.000 It's absolute madness, and we got to stop the wars.
00:03:41.000 It's interesting that the guy that was supposed to start World War III, Donald Trump, was the only guy advocating for peace for the last six years and is the only guy advocating to get people to the table right now.
00:03:53.000 It just shows you how beholden the rest of the political class, even in the Republican Party, are to the war machine or to their donors who are getting rich off of the war machine.
00:04:04.000 It's disgusting.
00:04:05.000 And Andy Biggs estimates we've sent over $200 billion.
00:04:09.000 And of course, we can't get $2 billion to secure our southern border to stop the flow of drugs and guns and illegals into our country.
00:04:18.000 And so, Don, I want to ask, though, because this is now shaping up to be a big issue in the 2024 campaign.
00:04:26.000 You know, I believe that President Trump is going to decisively be able to win the nomination, but there very well might be some kind of annoying candidates that you're going to have to navigate through.
00:04:37.000 And two of the other declared candidates, Tim Scott and Nikki Haley, and Nikki Haley in particular, they think that we should lean in on what's going on in Ukraine.
00:04:47.000 Nikki Haley has been outspoken about this.
00:04:50.000 Don, first, any initial thoughts on Tim Scott and Nikki Haley running for the presidency, and then also their foreign policy views contrasted with the success of Donald Trump.
00:05:00.000 Yeah, no, listen, it's more of a neocon mindset, certainly with Nikki Haley, but Tim Scott largely as well.
00:05:07.000 I mean, it's basically everything that Republicans revolted against in 2016.
00:05:13.000 But, you know, because they see the donor class wanting a seat at the table again, they see the military-industrial complex ramping up.
00:05:21.000 You know, that's their on-ramp for donations to fund this stuff.
00:05:25.000 That neocon mentality, the endless wars that everyone in America, frankly, doesn't want to be in anymore.
00:05:32.000 Even if you have a lot of people pro-Ukraine right now, the appetite of the American public is to not be in these endless wars.
00:05:39.000 Their foreign policy is one of never-ending war.
00:05:42.000 Their friends have done very well with those policies.
00:05:45.000 So I think it's really out of touch.
00:05:48.000 It's almost hard to believe that you'd have people running on these platforms, you know, nine months out after getting out of Afghanistan.
00:05:55.000 But, you know, that's the nature of the swamp.
00:05:56.000 They are not in touch with the people.
00:05:59.000 They have no understanding of what the people want.
00:06:01.000 They understand what their DC think tanks tell them to do.
00:06:05.000 They understand what those people in those Washington bubbles want.
00:06:10.000 And that doesn't align or jive at all with where the American people are, in my opinion.
00:06:15.000 No, I agree.
00:06:16.000 And in some ways, it actually, I think, helps Trump to have some more of these voices that have completely opposite views on the core issues, especially when it comes to neoliberalism of open borders and trade and, of course, foreign policy.
00:06:31.000 I think that this upcoming Republican primary is going to have a lot on foreign policy.
00:06:37.000 And honestly, President Trump did not just start any new wars.
00:06:40.000 He was able to defeat ISIS while doing it, holding Iran in check, all the while of negotiating peace in the Middle East with Israel and the United Arab Emirates.
00:06:50.000 And it was absolutely incredible.
00:06:51.000 So, Don, I want to get your thoughts on the recent inflation report.
00:06:54.000 Today, it came out that we have red-hot inflation.
00:06:59.000 The exact numbers here, I'll say in just a second.
00:07:02.000 But, Don, we've been told that it's just transitory.
00:07:05.000 Your thoughts on this recent inflation report.
00:07:09.000 Well, it's been transitory now for a year and a half, and it's going to continue to go up.
00:07:13.000 They're not doing anything to stop it.
00:07:15.000 All of the policies that they are espousing and implementing are only going to add to it.
00:07:22.000 And if you asked any honest economist, not someone who's looking for favoritism on TV from MSDNC and CNN, they would tell you that.
00:07:31.000 I mean, it's so obvious that all of these policies are designed to literally going to make it worse.
00:07:37.000 Every American is getting a 10% tax cut.
00:07:41.000 If you're talking about a real basket of goods, not the one that they manipulate, not the one where they change the definition to suit their current, again, DNC talking point agenda.
00:07:53.000 The American people are getting crushed.
00:07:55.000 These are the things that Donald Trump fought against.
00:07:57.000 You saw it in the State of the Union.
00:08:00.000 We're bringing it back down.
00:08:01.000 It's like it was 1.4% when Joe Biden took over.
00:08:05.000 You're now probably pushing in terms of real numbers.
00:08:07.000 Again, they massage the statistics.
00:08:10.000 They change the way they do it.
00:08:11.000 They don't include energy pricing in the basket of goods.
00:08:15.000 Yet people have to get their shipping stuff has to happen.
00:08:19.000 It's such a manipulated statistic, just like when they talk about job numbers.
00:08:24.000 When someone's no longer looking for a job because they can't find anything, they're out of the workforce.
00:08:29.000 And therefore, we can make the numbers look good because they've been trying for too long to get work.
00:08:34.000 It doesn't make any sense.
00:08:36.000 They're lying to the American people.
00:08:38.000 And the American people have taken a double-digit effective pay cut in my mind.
00:08:43.000 When you couple that, Charlie, with the rising interest rates, I just had this happen to me myself.
00:08:49.000 A interest-only mortgage that I had readjusted after a five or seven year arm.
00:08:55.000 And it went up a couple points.
00:08:58.000 It's significant.
00:08:58.000 It was thousands of dollars a month.
00:09:00.000 You add that to the American public who are getting crushed on the inflation side when their mortgages reset because in the last few years they bought homes at all-time low interest rates.
00:09:11.000 You're going to see a disaster.
00:09:13.000 It's like 2008, but the banks are better prepared to handle it for themselves, but the consumer themselves are going to get crushed.
00:09:20.000 And those are the people we've always been fighting for.
00:09:22.000 The blue-collar, hard-working Americans.
00:09:25.000 They're going to get crushed and they're going to hit from both ends.
00:09:28.000 And it's going to get very ugly very quickly.
00:09:31.000 I agree.
00:09:32.000 Don, 20 seconds.
00:09:33.000 Tell our audience about your show on Rumble.
00:09:35.000 I love watching it.
00:09:36.000 And I know Rumble is really exploding.
00:09:39.000 Tell our audience about it.
00:09:40.000 Well, listen, Rumble is a free speech platform.
00:09:42.000 And that's why I got on the platform.
00:09:44.000 I was one of the early guys on there doing short form stuff.
00:09:46.000 And they asked if I would do a long-term type of news things.
00:09:50.000 I will have a different take than the talking points, both right and left-wing talking points.
00:09:55.000 I will take things further.
00:09:56.000 I'll say what needs to be said and have a lot of fun in the process.
00:10:00.000 So the show's really taken off.
00:10:01.000 The amount of views we're getting there were on Monday and Thursday at 6 p.m. live.
00:10:06.000 But you can go on Rumble, search me there, check it out, see for yourself.
00:10:11.000 We're having a lot of fun.
00:10:12.000 I had Kash Patel on last night, who was the former deputy director of national intelligence.
00:10:17.000 Go see it.
00:10:18.000 He has the information of all the stuff they're not telling you about the crazy balloons and everything going on in Russia and what's a distraction, what's not a distraction, and more importantly, how we can hold the Republicans who now control the House to task to get the things they promised us done.
00:10:35.000 It's great stuff.
00:10:36.000 I've just had a lot of fun with it.
00:10:37.000 Hopefully it explodes because I think people need to hear and take that's again not the conservative or sort of mainstream media talking points, but taking it to that next level where a lot of people are just not willing to do it because they're worried about the consequences.
00:10:52.000 So having a lot of fun with it, and I think people will enjoy it.
00:10:55.000 You're doing really, really great with everyone.
00:10:57.000 Download the Rumble app or check out rumble.com at r-um-m-b-le-e.com and stop using YouTube.
00:11:02.000 Thanks so much, Don.
00:11:03.000 Appreciate it.
00:11:03.000 Congratulations.
00:11:04.000 Thanks a lot, Charlie.

00:12:11.000 Nikki Haley and Tim Scott are now officially running for the presidency.
00:12:16.000 I'd love your thoughts on this, and you can email me freedom at charliekirk.com.
00:12:20.000 I think this helps Donald Trump.
00:12:22.000 I think that the more voices that especially articulate neoliberalism certainly helps Donald Trump.
00:12:30.000 And I do not have any personal strife or bone to pick with Tim Scott or Nikki Haley at all.
00:12:37.000 Other people might have had unfavorable personal experiences with either of them.
00:12:41.000 But as someone who's supporting Donald Trump in 2024, I could tell you that Donald Trump benefits from being able to be anti-establishment former president.
00:12:53.000 To be able to be an anti-establishment former president is a very interesting, let's say, messaging opportunity.
00:13:03.000 Now, remember, presidents have served non-consecutive terms before.
00:13:08.000 Grover Cleveland most famously did that.
00:13:11.000 Teddy Roosevelt tried to run for another term with the Bull Neose Party and actually ended up dividing the Republican Party in the 1912 election after William Howard Taft served from 1908 to 1912, which basically paved the way for an incredibly dangerous progressive president, Woodrow Wilson, former president of Princeton University, then governor of New Jersey, to become president with just a plurality, not a majority of votes.
00:13:37.000 Obviously, the Electoral College matters.
00:13:38.000 That doesn't, but it's interesting because Woodrow Wilson was a very, very radical president.
00:13:42.000 So Nikki Haley is running, and Tim Scott is now running, and Mike Pompeo is likely going to run.
00:13:48.000 Do you see some commonality there?
00:13:50.000 And then Mike Pence is probably going to run.
00:13:53.000 Look, there is a significant funding base in the Republican donor community that feels as if neoliberalism and aggressive foreign policy.
00:14:10.000 This is strictly from a policy perspective.
00:14:12.000 Trust me, a lot of these donors and funders, many of whom I get along great with and have been very generous to Turning Point USA, they also have significant personality complaints towards Donald Trump and other complaints.
00:14:25.000 But there's also a philosophical difference where they feel as if neoliberalism is dying and needs to be reinvigorated.
00:14:34.000 Remember, neoliberalism, if you ever want to explain it to your friends and sound very smart, it's three things.
00:14:40.000 It is a loose immigration policy, it is loose trade policy, but aggressive foreign policy.
00:14:47.000 The best way to describe neoliberalism is invade the world, invite the world, and import stuff the world makes and you do not make.
00:14:57.000 It is the opening of the borders.
00:14:59.000 It is the relaxing of sovereignty.
00:15:01.000 Donald Trump, at his best, stands against neoliberalism and those three issues.
00:15:09.000 Now, almost everybody running for the presidency is going to talk a good game on pro-life, on the Second Amendment.
00:15:14.000 They're going to talk a good game on the trans thing.
00:15:16.000 So you're going to see very little, very few differences there.
00:15:20.000 The broad and distinct differences that you are going to see in the Republican 2024 primary are going to be between are going to be foreign policy, trade policy, and immigration policy.
00:15:33.000 Now, everybody running for the presidency is going to say, well, look, we need to get rid of illegal immigration, but we need to bolster legal immigration.
00:15:41.000 And that is the opportunity to be able to see if somebody is a true America first conservative or a neoliberal.
00:15:49.000 I personally think we should retire the phrase neoconservative and just call them neoliberals.
00:15:54.000 Now, just so that we're clear, there was a time where neoliberalism probably made sense.
00:16:01.000 When America was the world reserve currency and we were balancing our budget in the 1990s, you could make a case for neoliberalism.
00:16:10.000 Now, of course, we didn't just make a case for it.
00:16:12.000 We didn't just dip our toe into it.
00:16:14.000 We went so full force and destroyed our American manufacturing base.
00:16:19.000 We allowed so many people into our country.
00:16:23.000 I think we allowed like 1.3 million people legally into our country in the mid-90s.
00:16:28.000 We can get the exact numbers.
00:16:30.000 And so instead of crafting policy that was actually serving our best interest and using some neoliberal elements, we just went all in and it went nuts.
00:16:42.000 I actually think it's 1.8 million.
00:16:43.000 If I remember the chart correctly, there was a massive spike in green card distributions in the 90s at some point.
00:16:49.000 I'll look it up in the break or our team will.
00:16:51.000 But now, I mean, this is one of the reasons why populist nationalism, citizen-centered government is on the rise and neoliberalism needs to be basically cast aside, is we are now suffering the damage of the excesses of neoliberalism.
00:17:10.000 From trade policy to immigration policy to these foreign wars.
00:17:13.000 And the more money we send to Ukraine, the more the southern border remains wide open, and the harder it is for our economy to get back to a position of strength.
00:17:23.000 All of that philosophically and politically lays the foundation favorably for Donald Trump.
00:17:30.000 Okay, I want to play Nikki Haley's announcement for the presidency.
00:17:33.000 I think it's cut 44.
00:17:35.000 Is that right?
00:17:36.000 Yeah, play cut 44, please.
00:17:38.000 We must turn in that direction again.
00:17:41.000 Republicans have lost the popular vote in seven out of the last eight presidential elections.
00:17:47.000 That has to change.
00:17:49.000 Joe Biden's record is abysmal, but that shouldn't come as a surprise.
00:17:53.000 The Washington establishment has failed us over and over and over again.
00:17:59.000 It's time for a new generation of leadership to rediscover fiscal responsibility, secure our border, and strengthen our country, our pride, and our purpose.
00:18:13.000 Okay, I'd actually like to listen to the whole video so if you guys can get the second part of this.
00:18:17.000 So let me just kind of give some feedback.
00:18:19.000 We don't elect presidents based on the popular vote.
00:18:22.000 That is a weak argument.
00:18:23.000 I'm not really sure what she's getting at there, but I don't think that's strong at all.
00:18:29.000 The second is, you know, she says fiscal responsibility.
00:18:32.000 That's fine.
00:18:32.000 That's not exactly an animating issue of voters.
00:18:35.000 However, it's becoming one because of debt and deficit spending.
00:18:39.000 More broadly and more generally, though, I do want to, you know, mention when it comes to Nikki Haley running for the presidency some insight.
00:18:49.000 So I asked the audience, I asked you guys, what do you think?
00:18:51.000 And very, very negative on Nikki Haley.
00:18:54.000 So I was, I will say, though, and I made this prediction a couple weeks ago, do not underestimate her.
00:19:01.000 She did have a good record generally as governor of South Carolina, certainly did some things that irritated me and irritated many of you.
00:19:08.000 She's definitely going to try to carve out more of that establishment lane, but she's immensely popular with the donors of the Republican Party.
00:19:16.000 And I don't say donors in a negative way.
00:19:18.000 And I'm just saying that it's a fact.
00:19:21.000 I was at a fundraiser last week.
00:19:24.000 It was barnstorming the country trying to raise money for Turning Point Action, Turning Point USA.
00:19:28.000 And we had a private dinner with about 10 big donors that give significantly to Republican causes.
00:19:34.000 They give over $250,000 a year each.
00:19:37.000 So these are some big, very accomplished business people.
00:19:41.000 And I was curious, hey, what are you guys thinking about 2024?
00:19:44.000 They know my position, obviously.
00:19:47.000 And it was DeSantis and Nikki Haley were the top two choices.
00:19:51.000 And Nikki Haley was one where they were asking me, why is it that Nikki Haley is not as popular as we think she should be?
00:20:00.000 Like, what are we missing?
00:20:02.000 And I did my best to explain that there is a massive base disconnect between Nikki Haley and Republican-based voters and conservative-based voters.
00:20:11.000 But Nikki Haley, what I gleaned from that, and it reinforces my theory that I articulated a couple weeks ago, which is Nikki Haley is going to raise a bunch of money.
00:20:20.000 And so is Tim Scott.
00:20:21.000 They're going to raise a ton of money.
00:20:22.000 And whether or not that will translate into votes, we will see.
00:20:25.000 However, the more money they raise, in some ways, it actually does help Donald Trump because Donald Trump's superpower in the Republican 2024 primary is going to be Trump versus the world, is that they tried to spy on me, they tried to indict me, they tried to take me out, and Peter Strzzk and Andy McCabe and James Comey and all this.
00:20:42.000 And we need to reignite that kind of populist nationalist energy.
00:20:45.000 That actually makes Trump stronger.
00:20:47.000 Play cut 45.
00:20:50.000 Some people look at America and see vulnerability.
00:20:54.000 The socialist left sees an opportunity to rewrite history.
00:20:59.000 China and Russia are on the march.
00:21:01.000 They all think we can be bullied, kicked around.
00:21:05.000 You should know this about me.
00:21:07.000 I don't put up with bullies.
00:21:09.000 And when you kick back, it hurts them more if you're wearing heels.
00:21:13.000 I'm Nikki Haley, and I'm running for president.
00:21:19.000 Okay, I think I heard her say that Russia is on the march.
00:21:22.000 Is that right?
00:21:25.000 I just want to make sure I heard that correctly.
00:21:26.000 Okay, that right there is your first contrast point that I said.
00:21:33.000 Nikki Haley is basically saying that we need to punch back to Russia.
00:21:40.000 That's a bad idea.
00:21:43.000 Russia and China are on the march.
00:21:45.000 The CCP is not just a bigger threat.
00:21:46.000 They are the threat.
00:21:48.000 The Russian Federation does not pose an immediate or long-term threat to American national security or sovereignty.
00:21:56.000 We should be partners with the Russian Federation.
00:21:59.000 Yes, I am aware that they are a very flawed regime.
00:22:03.000 I am no fan of Vladimir Putin.
00:22:05.000 I don't want my grandkids speaking Mandarin.
00:22:09.000 You cannot win a global conflict or a world war without Russia being neutral or on your side.
00:22:16.000 You can disagree at that.
00:22:18.000 You can hope it to be wrong.
00:22:21.000 But you're entitled to your own opinion, not your own facts.
00:22:24.000 There is not a rational reason why in the last 30 years since the fall of the wall, why we should have escalating antagonistic relations with Russia.
00:22:33.000 Are their behaviors perfect?
00:22:34.000 Far from it.
00:22:36.000 But they could be a partner in normalizing global relations and restricting the rise of the true menace, the Chinese Communist Party.
00:22:46.000 That definitely opens an opportunity for Donald Trump to contrast that.
00:22:52.000 America has always been the world leader in invention, innovation, and technology.
00:22:57.000 Now China is poised to take its place as the next world leader in technology.

00:23:23.000 With the flip of a switch, the Chinese Communist Party could turn off our power grids, remotely drive your car off your road, or turn off your pacemaker.

00:24:02.000 Joining us now is Steve Moore.
00:24:04.000 Steve, welcome back to the program.
00:24:05.000 Steve, unfortunately, we have you back on because of the bad inflation news.
00:24:10.000 I love having you on, but it's like, oh boy, it's bad inflation.
00:24:13.000 Who can explain the economic Armageddon?
00:24:17.000 What is the new what is the news today and what is the significance of it?
00:24:21.000 Charlie, good to be with you.
00:24:22.000 By the way, you know, I'm only on your show when we have bad news.
00:24:25.000 I know it's like you're the hurricane guy when we bring that exactly the weatherman.
00:24:31.000 So, yeah, we got some surprisingly bad numbers today.
00:24:34.000 And I was surprised.
00:24:35.000 I thought we had made more progress in bringing inflation down.
00:24:38.000 So I'll do a Maya Copa myself that I was surprised by these numbers.
00:24:43.000 So we got a 0.5% increase in inflation, which on an annual basis is like 6.4% inflation at the very time that we thought we turned the corner on this.
00:24:54.000 So by the way, they also revised upward the inflation numbers over the last three or four months, a little higher than were initially thought.
00:25:03.000 That may explain, by the way, when I come on shows like yours and I say, you know, the inflation rate is 6.5% or 7%, people get angry at me.
00:25:11.000 They say, what is he talking about?
00:25:12.000 It's not 6 or 7%.
00:25:14.000 The inflation rates, you know, closer to 9%, 10%, 12%, 15%.
00:25:17.000 Does this guy go to the grocery store?
00:25:19.000 Does he fill up his tank for gas?
00:25:21.000 And now I feel people's pain because, you know, prior to the right before the Super Bowl, I went with my wife to, you know, stock up on everything from chicken wings to potato chips.
00:25:31.000 And I couldn't believe what things cost.
00:25:34.000 So I feel your pain, folks.
00:25:36.000 Yeah, it's the Bill Clinton.
00:25:38.000 I feel your pain.
00:25:39.000 So let me ask you, Steve, we could definitely beat inflation, obviously, but would that require us intentionally going into a recession?
00:25:47.000 No.
00:25:49.000 That's completely wrong.
00:25:51.000 I know you're just, you know, you're kind of regurgitating what the economic leftists say.
00:25:57.000 You know, if it's very simple, my buddy Arthur Lapper explains this better than anybody.
00:26:01.000 If the economy produces more apples, the price of apples goes down.
00:26:05.000 It doesn't go up.
00:26:06.000 So we need to produce more goods and services.
00:26:09.000 Putting people to work does not cause inflation.
00:26:11.000 I hate that argument.
00:26:12.000 Under Reagan, we had declining inflation and a declining unemployment rate at the same time.
00:26:18.000 Same thing under Trump.
00:26:19.000 Remember, Charlie, it was only two, three years ago we had the best jobs numbers ever and the best inflation numbers ever.
00:26:25.000 So I hate that logic that somehow you have to crash the economy to get inflation down.
00:26:32.000 It's too many people at the Federal Reserve Board believe that.
00:26:35.000 I want growth.
00:26:36.000 I want prosperity.
00:26:37.000 I want people to make more money, but we're not seeing that right now.
00:26:41.000 What really worries me, my biggest worry right now, is that look at the debt that people, not just the national debt, which everyone knows is out of control under Biden, but more and more Americans are going into debt just to just keep maintaining their current living standard.
00:26:57.000 You may have seen the report on Fox News the other day that more and more Americans are having to take money out of their 401k plans to pay bills.
00:27:10.000 That's a terrible idea.
00:27:11.000 You pay a huge tax penalty for that.
00:27:13.000 The other thing so many Americans are the other thing people have to do now, which is also a really bad idea, is they're running up their credit cards.
00:27:23.000 Did you see the numbers out?
00:27:24.000 A trillion dollars on credit card debt.
00:27:27.000 You know, if you don't pay that, if you don't pay that, you're going to pay penalties 15 or 20%.
00:27:32.000 It could crush you.
00:27:33.000 And I just want, you said this last time, Steve, and I don't give financial advice, but I will say this: do not take money out of your 401k.
00:27:41.000 That is the one piece of financial advice.
00:27:44.000 The tax code is written for it to grow and to mature.
00:27:48.000 You guys, I think, what is it, a 25% haircut, Steve, or plus income tax or 10% plus the income tax rate?
00:27:55.000 The penalty is extraordinary.
00:27:57.000 It is not worth it.
00:27:58.000 It is better for you to not take that summer vacation or to eat at home for a month.
00:28:03.000 Please do not touch your 401ks, everybody.
00:28:06.000 The tax code is merciless and brutal for you.
00:28:09.000 Can you just comment on that a second, Steve?
00:28:10.000 Because a lot of people are doing it.
00:28:12.000 If you look at the reports, Charles Schwab and these money managers, if you go into the 94th page of their earnings call, they say this quarter we had 117,000 people request distributions preemptively from their 401k before they're 59 and a half.
00:28:26.000 I'm like, whoa, that is so bad.
00:28:29.000 Steve, your thoughts on that.
00:28:31.000 Yeah, like, you know, this is a nest egg, right?
00:28:33.000 A nest egg that you build up over your working year so that you can, you know, have a nice retirement.
00:28:39.000 And if you start, you know, going into that account earlier, you're right.
00:28:43.000 You're going to pay a bit.
00:28:44.000 I don't remember the exact numbers, so I can't say, but there are substantial penalties that you're going to pay.
00:28:49.000 And you're, you know, and don't forget, we were the ones at the Committee on Unleashed Prosperity back six months ago that did that report that was you and I talked about.
00:28:57.000 It was blasted all over the place that people lost about $35,000 in their 401k plans because the stock market was so bad last year and because of Biden inflation.
00:29:07.000 So this is like a triple whammy that people are taking to their retirement accounts.
00:29:12.000 So Steve, you know, I know that you probably get irritated with this question, but I think it's important.
00:29:18.000 Can you try to forecast the next six months?
00:29:21.000 I think people are so uncertain.
00:29:23.000 I get predictions all over the map.
00:29:25.000 And if I were to get, I mean, just, yeah, I was just in Palm Beach and, you know, was at one of the top clubs and was raising money for Turning Point.
00:29:33.000 And the consensus amongst the ruling class is: look, things are going to get bad, but we're going to be fine.
00:29:38.000 There wasn't a lot of anxiety or unease.
00:29:40.000 Amongst middle-class retail investors, though, Steve, people are really worried.
00:29:44.000 Forecast six months out.
00:29:46.000 Do you think we're going to get into a dramatic 08-style recession?
00:29:49.000 Are we going to see stagflation similar to what we saw in the 70s?
00:29:53.000 What sort of leading indicators are you seeing that could say, hey, in August, the country will look like X?
00:30:00.000 Well, I'll say this.
00:30:01.000 It's very difficult to predict what's going to happen in six months.
00:30:04.000 And, you know, I've been wrong.
00:30:06.000 Everybody's been wrong.
00:30:07.000 Most economists predicted we'd be in a recession right now, and we're not.
00:30:11.000 What I'm here to tell you is this.
00:30:15.000 We are a locomotive that is speeding towards a cliff, and we're going to head over that cliff if we don't slow this locomotive down.
00:30:22.000 Now, whether that's going to happen in two months, six months, 12 months, 24 months, I don't know.
00:30:28.000 I don't know.
00:30:28.000 But I can tell you with about 99% certainty that we are on a very, very bad path right now.
00:30:36.000 And this can't continue.
00:30:39.000 $31.6 trillion of debt out of a border that's out of control.
00:30:45.000 Gasoline prices that are rising.
00:30:47.000 People going further into debt.
00:30:49.000 I don't know when it's going to crash, but if we don't turn this thing around, it is going to crash.
00:30:53.000 And it's going to be very much.
00:30:55.000 Remember what happened in 2008?
00:30:57.000 We're almost in a matter of two or three days, the economy just crashed.
00:31:02.000 I really worry, that's what's keeping me up at night.
00:31:06.000 I know, Steve.
00:31:07.000 And I just don't get the indication from obviously Biden and his team.
00:31:12.000 They're doing so much damage.
00:31:13.000 But even just the general ruling elite that they understand.
00:31:17.000 Steve, debt ceiling.
00:31:19.000 What is the significance of this?
00:31:21.000 What do you think Republicans need to accomplish to restore some sort of fiscal sanity, which plays directly into people's pocketbooks?
00:31:29.000 Well, that's an easy question.
00:31:31.000 First of all, we need a path to a balanced budget.
00:31:34.000 I know that makes people hyperventilate in Washington, but it has to happen.
00:31:39.000 I don't know if it's got to be over four years, five years, eight years, but at some point, we have to get back to a balanced budget with a spending limitation measure.
00:31:48.000 I would like to see hundreds and hundreds of billions of dollars of cuts immediately, Charlie.
00:31:56.000 I mean, let's not forget, Biden spent out of the $4.2 trillion, but $3 trillion of that, not a single Republican ever voted for.
00:32:04.000 So they should start rescinding that money.
00:32:09.000 You see the report that came out just over the weekend.
00:32:12.000 Over $100 billion was stolen from the PPP program.
00:32:17.000 Over $75 billion has been stolen from the unemployment insurance program.
00:32:21.000 Billions have been stolen from Medicaid and food stamps.
00:32:25.000 Nobody does a damn thing about it.
00:32:28.000 I know.
00:32:29.000 They act as if it's a cost of doing business.
00:32:31.000 It creates so much cynicism in me, obviously, but our viewers.
00:32:34.000 And they, you know what?
00:32:35.000 Someone just emailed us here, Steve, and they say, you know, Charlie, I had to go into my 401k to pay for basic stuff.
00:32:40.000 And I said, don't do that, but it's fine.
00:32:42.000 But then they said, but meanwhile, no one does anything about the theft.
00:32:45.000 But the government, it's almost the same thing you were saying.
00:32:48.000 And I just, I get the sense that people are just losing trust in this whole system of thievery and robbery.
00:32:57.000 Closing thoughts, Steve.
00:32:59.000 Yeah, you put criminals in jail, right?
00:33:01.000 These are people who stole your and my money.
00:33:03.000 And nobody goes.
00:33:04.000 And by the way, a lot of them don't even, how do we recapture?
00:33:06.000 A lot of them don't even live in the United States.
00:33:08.000 They're in Russia and they're in China and they're in other countries that figured out how to hack into our system and steal our money.
00:33:15.000 And there are no safeguards.
00:33:16.000 The inspector general has said that this money has been stolen.
00:33:19.000 We haven't done it.
00:33:20.000 God, there's so much work to do.
00:33:23.000 And when the president sounds in a State of the Union speech like everything's honky-dory and the days of Wyan Roses, he's completely delusional and out of touch with middle-class Americans.
00:33:34.000 And that's why I think you're seeing, you know, I see the same thing you see.
00:33:38.000 People are becoming so discouraged and demoralized because nobody in Washington is doing anything about it.
00:33:45.000 Steve, thank you for your clarity on this topic.
00:33:48.000 If I were to say my prediction is I think we are going to see a tough summer.
00:33:53.000 I think you're going to see rising prices.
00:33:56.000 I do not see the economic, any sort of economic momentum.
00:34:01.000 In fact, I see the opposite.
00:34:03.000 I see the most informed, well-heeled companies preemptively starting to trim their workforce significantly, which is a bad sign.
00:34:13.000 You see it at Amazon.
00:34:14.000 You see it at Google.
00:34:16.000 Just the other day, there was another announcement.
00:34:18.000 That is not a good sign.
00:34:20.000 If the most valuable companies are trimming their workforce by 5% or 10%, that means they're trying to brace for impact.
00:34:27.000 Steve, thank you.
00:34:28.000 Really appreciate it.
00:34:28.000 Thanks, Charlie.
00:34:30.000 Thanks so much for listening, everybody.
00:34:31.000 Email me your thoughts as always, freedom at charliekirk.com.
00:34:34.000 Thanks so much for listening.
