00:01:21.000I just got word that I'm being removed from my committees.
00:01:24.000Some of you will recall last week I brought a bill to remove sanctuary state protection for pedophiles in the state of California, and the Democrats here did not like that.
00:01:32.000So they cut off my microphone, and I just got word that the Speaker of the State Assembly, who runs the place, has removed me from my committee.
00:02:55.000That's what the Democrat Party does up there.
00:02:58.000So explain the bill you're bringing to the floor in detail.
00:03:01.000We have some time, so go through the specifics there.
00:03:03.000Well, this one, this was that one's already dead.
00:03:06.000It's I'll try to bring it again next year.
00:03:08.000But the bill was in reaction to a report by Bill Malujan, in which a believe a Colombian illegal immigrant had raped a 12 year old girl in California.
00:03:18.000He got some sentence of only like five years or something crazy.
00:03:22.000And he was released onto the street instead of being handed over to ICE for deportation.
00:03:27.000And the reason he was is because California has sanctuary state policies.
00:06:03.000There are a fair amount of liberals in Riverside, too, just for the record.
00:06:06.000But so help me understand that your Democrat colleagues are so uninterested in any sort of bipartisanship, even when it comes to removing sanctuary state protections for people that rape kids, that they're taking California so for granted.
00:06:21.000Is there any progress for meaningful bipartisanship with your colleagues or is it just pure Soviet one-party rule?
00:06:28.000I don't believe that they have any interest in actually working with us.
00:06:32.000When they use the word bipartisanship, they mean if they can get Republicans to support their agenda.
00:06:36.000And frankly, they're pretty successful at doing that.
00:06:38.000They get Republicans to support some of their watered down policies.
00:06:42.000They're never going to support a policy that is conservative or that advances the ball on our side.
00:06:47.000So I just weighed my colleagues of that illusion.
00:06:51.000We need to defeat these people at the ballot box.
00:06:53.000You know, California in the state assembly, we have 80 seats.
00:07:27.000So that is an issue where if the party would embrace it, I think you'll see a mass exodus of particularly Latinos out of the Democrat Party and they're ready to come over, but they want to know that we're real and we're going to fight for them.
00:07:40.000So Bill, Kamala Harris obviously is from your state.
00:07:45.000What should the national audience know about Kamala Harris that you in Sacramento know that you think deserves more coverage?
00:08:09.000We went from having 180,000 prisoners In our prison beds, we're down to 90,000 prisoners.
00:08:16.000She was there when we passed Prop 47, which basically legalized petty theft, all the shoplifting you're seeing in California, all the drug use got decriminalized, all the homelessness on the street.
00:09:33.000The party is frankly not doing a lot in that space.
00:09:36.000So we need someone to focus on voter registration because Once you convert someone from a Democrat to Republican, they're going to vote for a ton of races.
00:09:44.000So, you know, it's a huge bang for your buck to get someone into the party.
00:10:50.000Thanks to the team at Hillsdale College, you can now watch an inspiring portrayal of Thomas Jefferson as he reflects on the meaning of the Declaration of Independence in a letter he wrote late in his life.
00:11:01.000Watch this special short video at charlie4hillsdale.com.
00:11:05.000Since its founding in 1844, Hillsdale has remained true to its mission of offering the kind of education needed to preserve the blessings of liberty, the blessings that can be traced to the principles of the Declaration signed on July 4th.
00:11:18.000At a time where the far left rejects the principles of liberty and equality, we must remind ourselves, our children, and our fellow citizens that those principles are the source of America's greatness and a treasure to be preserved.
00:11:30.000I invite you today to visit charlie4hillsdale.com to watch Hillsdale's educational and inspiring video and you'll receive a free commemorative copy of the Declaration of Independence from my friends at Hillsdale.
00:11:42.000But don't delay, this is a limited time offer.
00:11:44.000Go to charlie4hillsdale.com as we forever and always celebrate Independence Day.
00:11:48.000charlie4hillsdale.com Tyler Boyer is with us, wearing, is that a Milwaukee hat?
00:12:23.000So commit 100 is the program we launched today for every volunteer to get involved and commit to chase 100 ballots in Arizona, Wisconsin, and we'll be expanding to other states as well.
00:12:35.000But today it's get on tpaction.com slash commit 100 or just slash 100.
00:12:44.000Our team will then take that, help people make sure that they have the Turning Point application downloaded, and they'll have assigned to them specific data that's closest to them of people that they need to chase.
00:12:59.000And our ask is that everyone just commits to chase 100 ballots.
00:13:06.000That's 10 days of work in Arizona or Wisconsin.
00:13:10.000You can obviously spread that out over the course of the election month, as the Democrats have created for us.
00:13:18.000But that is the ask, is talk to 100 people, make sure 100 of these low propensity Republicans remember to vote, that we aid them to vote, that we become the concierge for them to vote.
00:13:32.000And they get it done and we right now I can tell you Charlie we've already today had hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of people sign up.
00:13:41.000Our goal is to have thousands of people sign up to commit 100 in Arizona and at least over a thousand people in Wisconsin.
00:13:50.000This is going to make it way too big to rig.
00:13:53.000And so we need everybody to go to tpaction.com slash 100.
00:13:56.000Our team is standing by, they will make assignments of over 100 voters that they'll give you.
00:14:04.000And if you're interested in coming to Arizona, you can travel to Arizona, you can apply for a hotel, a free hotel to stay in Arizona or Wisconsin in the state in the month of October.
00:14:19.000So we'll give you assignments to make calls and send postcards or letters from whatever state you're in.
00:14:27.000So Tyler, some people are asking, it's an elementary question, what is ballot chasing?
00:14:32.000Ballot chasing is just the act of identifying the right voters that we need to contact to make sure that they turn out to vote.
00:14:39.000What the left has been really good at, Charlie, as we've been talking till we're blue in the face about this for the last few years, is that the left is really good at identifying the right voters to go contact and turn out.
00:14:52.000And so it turns out it's actually a lot harder to commit, convince somebody to change their mind than somebody who's already on your side, but just is a little bit lackadaisical with their voting habits.
00:15:05.000So on our side, we have a lot of people, Charlie, we've already been out.
00:15:09.000We have hundreds and hundreds of full-time people who are out in the field.
00:15:12.000They've been talking to these voters that sometimes forget to vote.
00:15:16.000And a lot of them love President Trump.
00:16:09.000They don't trust random Joe Schmoes who show up to their door.
00:16:13.000And so our goal has been Hire people and recruit people in the right neighborhoods, which was what we've strategically done, and then put as many bodies on the ground as humanly possible.
00:16:25.000We had a lot of people in 2020 who wanted to help President Trump, but they just weren't given enough to do.
00:16:32.000We are going to ensure that nobody can come out of the 2024 election saying, I didn't have enough to do.
00:17:07.000I mean, most of what it has come down to is people don't like being quoted on what they said.
00:17:13.000So you've seen a lot of scrambling to go, well, that's not what I meant, or even though the entire thrust of my comments were that Christians need to take up the issue of climate change.
00:17:45.000And, um, all I can say is that people do not like to be exposed.
00:17:49.000So for the audience that is not yet familiar, just quickly summarize your thesis of the book and then please name some of the names of the shepherds who prostituted themselves out for cash.
00:18:00.000Yeah, so the premise of the book is about how a lot of well-known evangelical leaders and institutions sold out for a leftist agenda for a variety of reasons.
00:18:11.000One is that they were getting involved with left-wing billionaire funded organizations.
00:18:16.000So we're talking about secular atheists like George Soros, guys like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg.
00:18:22.000So people who are not Christians were funneling money into these evangelical institutions to push them to the left on a variety of policies like climate change, like lax border policies.
00:18:36.000They convinced them to take stands against things like Trump's remain in Mexico policy.
00:18:43.000And then another part of it is how basically to solicit media and favor from the secular elite world, they moderated their stances where the Bible is crystal clear, like issues like transgenderism and what a man and a woman is.
00:19:01.000One of the people that I highlight in this book is a well-known pastor named J.D.
00:19:05.000Greer, who was the president of the Southern Baptist Convention for several years, who Advocated something called pronoun hospitality.
00:19:12.000So, you know, he's one of the guys who's not very happy that I have highlighted that, but these are his words.
00:19:19.000And when I had interviewed him about it at the time, he doubled down on it.
00:19:23.000So that's really what the book is about.
00:19:25.000But then another part of it is very important to the election happening right now, because that is about how some of these evangelical leaders, we saw it in 2020, elevated Democratic operatives and suggested that They were sincere Christians seeking to live out their faith in the halls of political power.
00:19:45.000People like a guy named Michael Ware, who came out of the Obama administration and was an architect of evangelicals for Biden.
00:19:55.000You saw organizations like Christianity Today, the Gospel Coalition, really highlighting his work, endorsing him, praising him.
00:20:04.000So you fast forward to what's happening right now, and they're doing the same thing again with Harris.
00:20:08.000So, at its base, so much of this is politically motivated, and you see these same figures at Christianity Today taking a lot of money from hard-left secular foundations to do things like pump political Bible studies into churches and onto Christian college campuses in order to sway the vote to the left.
00:20:28.000So yeah, there's just so much there, and you've named some of the names.
00:20:34.000So these are people that call themselves pastors.
00:20:36.000It's bad enough that they're embracing left-wing politics, but they're also doing it for cash from the worst people.
00:20:45.000I mean, the vermin of society, that they're not Christians.
00:20:49.000They actually have really bitterness towards Christianity.
00:20:55.000Alright, I need to tell you guys about StrongCell.
00:22:49.000First, why are liberal secular activists funding pastors?
00:22:55.000I think that's an easy question to answer.
00:22:57.000The harder question is, why are people who call themselves pastors receiving it?
00:23:01.000Well, you know, the liberal secular foundations, to give you one example, George Soros' Open Society Foundation, I lay out in the book memos where they explain explicitly why they're doing it.
00:23:13.000They recognized about 10 years ago that Their policy preferences kept continually running into the same roadblock, and that was evangelical voters.
00:23:22.000They represent roughly 30% of the American electorate, they're overwhelmingly conservative, and guys like Soros realized they were not going to be able to get their agenda advanced if they didn't find a way to deal with those voters.
00:23:36.000So what they came up with was what you could essentially call AstroTurf campaigns.
00:23:41.000They started to help fund evangelical front groups, And steer money into them so that people that they named evangelical influencers would then subtly take these more left-wing positions publicly.
00:23:55.000And their hope was that these views, these left-wing views, would then trickle down to the pews and really disarm the strength of that evangelical electorate.
00:24:04.000So that's why they did it as to why the pastors have been doing it.
00:24:08.000Well, one, I think they like to curry favor with these elite international power brokers.
00:24:15.000Suddenly, they're in a new class of people.
00:24:46.000And just one huge example that is really important right now is this group called The After Party.
00:24:52.000So it's led by David French, New York Times columnist, who says he's a Christian, but as we know, he just endorsed Kamala Harris, and Russell Moore, editor-in-chief at Christianity Today, a confirmed never-Trumper.
00:25:05.000Well, they developed this political Bible study.
00:25:09.000They say it's nonpartisan, but all three men behind it are Confirmed never Trumpers and two of them now are openly saying, Curtis Chang and David French, that they're voting for Kamala Harris.
00:25:20.000And so this political Bible study received its funding exclusively from hard left secular foundations like Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors and the Hewlett Foundation.
00:25:31.000Both of these organizations are the kind of groups that also support ensuring that, and I'm going to use their terminology, that youth, Have access to gender-affirming care.
00:25:43.000They're trying to ensure that kids can be mutilated with puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, surgeries, and there are also rabid abortion proponents.
00:25:54.000So Hewlett Foundation is the second largest funder of Planned Parenthood in the country.
00:25:59.000So you have to ask yourself, why would any Christian organization be taking money from people like that?
00:26:05.000And what they're in turn doing is they have developed this political Bible study.
00:26:09.000It's going into conservative churches, not left-wing churches, but I'm seeing it at unwary, maybe unthinking conservative churches and the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, which represents 185 member schools.
00:26:24.000Including conservative schools like Asusa and Biola.
00:26:28.000They have been promoting this on their campuses.
00:26:31.000Well, Biola's not conservative and they haven't been for quite some time.
00:26:34.000They got Ed Stutzer running their seminary there.
00:26:35.000But they have that branding and I think that's what's so confusing to people is they have that branding and an unwary parent who's not paying attention doesn't realize that they're partnering with these kind of people.
00:26:47.000Yeah, I think I actually met David Hogue, who's in charge of the Christian—it's interesting—Council for Christian Universities and Colleges.
00:26:56.000I'm going to reach out to him because he seems like a really sweet guy.
00:26:59.000I don't think he might be aware of that.
00:27:00.000Well, and let me just say, there was a change of leadership there.
00:27:03.000Yeah, he's the new guy, so hopefully he shakes it up.
00:27:10.000So this is not surprising to me, but for many people in our audience that go to some of these weak churches with these weak pastors, They don't quite understand this.
00:27:20.000You've done some amazing work exposing it and they don't like actually learning that.
00:27:25.000They don't like that people are learning about their own cash flows and how they're doing this to get rich while they do things that are super unbiblical.
00:27:36.000Can you comment on the 50 black pastors that came out in support of Kamala?
00:27:51.000So, as I mentioned, that after-party curriculum which Christianity Today editor-in-chief Russell Moore helped develop, Um, they are taking that hard left secular funding.
00:28:02.000And then in addition to that, you suddenly see Christianity Today running articles about how, um, all of these black pastors find Kamala's candidacy so very inspiring.
00:28:14.000And when you looked at the, um, the layout and the article that Christianity Today ran, it was overwhelmingly positive.
00:28:21.000And this was just in the last couple of weeks.
00:28:23.000It was a picture of her in a church, uh, with pastors looking like, um, A serious Christian, which of course her beliefs would completely undermine that.
00:28:33.000But that was the portrayal that they had in this image.
00:28:36.000And the first two-thirds of the article are about how inspiring they find her Christian faith, specifically.
00:28:44.000And at one point, you know, they barely touched on abortion, almost kind of made an excuse for it and then moved on.
00:28:50.000So when you look at that, and then you know that also this week, the Evangelicals for Harris group, Just kind of put out their first announcement that they're going to be having a speaking engagement, and one of their speakers is the chairman of the board of Christianity Today, a guy named Claude Alexander.
00:29:28.000Chairman of the Board of Christianity Today is one of the Evangelical for Harris speakers.
00:29:32.000I'll let everyone make their own determinations on that.
00:29:35.000So Megan, if you were to list the chief offenders of people that are doing sinister political advocacy in God's name, which I believe is a violation of thou shall not take the Lord's name in vain, to carry the Lord's name, to do sinister political agendas in the name of God, who would be the chief offenders?
00:30:00.000You know, I feel like David French is so transparently on the left now that it's actually been something of a blessing because so many of us who were warning about him for so long can now kind of go, you see?
00:30:11.000And people are like, oh yeah, okay, we see now.
00:30:13.000Like, it was so bad when he came out and endorsed Kamala Harris last week.
00:30:18.000But yes, Russell Moore, Christianity Today editor-in-chief, I think he has been a subversive agent for years and years.
00:30:26.000Danny Akin, people who may not know who he is, but he is the president Of one of the largest seminaries in the country, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
00:30:35.000His seminary was heavily involved in pushing CRT and pushing sort of DEI initiatives.
00:30:43.000He was also heavily involved in bringing in climate change activism into the largest Protestant denomination in the US.
00:30:51.000That's the Southern Baptist Convention.
00:31:23.000And I think a lot of people are realizing that now.
00:31:26.000And, you know, when we talk about what's going on with the election, I hope that someone like you, who has a line into the Trump campaign, is letting them know that they cannot ignore what's happening with evangelicals.
00:31:39.000Because this same, really, you have to call it kind of an astroturf operation that was run in 2020, where they did this Evangelicals for Biden, and you saw these well-known evangelical leaders and media outlets promoting Joe Biden's supposedly sincere Catholic faith.
00:31:59.000Even though he took all of these stances diametrically opposed to biblical ethics and morality, there's been a lot of analysis showing that just enough evangelical votes in some states moved and that they may have given I mean, that's why we did our Believers Summit, and I've been telling the Trump team—and they've been open to it—I think that you can't take the evangelical cohort for granted, because there's so much money that is coming in, and there is this weak, unbiblical Christian agenda that is trying—and you say it perfectly—subvert the Word of God, subvert the mission of the Church.
00:32:41.000Yeah, and it has been going on for years, and I think really just in the last few years have the rank and file gotten to a place where we've gone, we're not going to be gaslit anymore on the unbiblical, Politicking that has been going on.
00:32:56.000And so now that it's being called out, you're seeing a rush to say, no, we didn't do that.
00:33:00.000But their words are there in black and white.
00:33:02.000And more than their words, the IRS 990s are there in black and white.
00:33:07.000You cannot deny that your organizations, your evangelical organizations, if you are at the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, the Evangelical Environmental Network, the Evangelical Immigration Table, the fact that you took money from people like Buddhist eBay founder Pierre Omidyar is in black and white.
00:33:24.000The fact that you took money from George Soros is in black and white.
00:33:28.000We know that you are partnering with people who have no interest whatsoever in building up the kingdom of God, and you have been selling out your platforms, your pulpits, and your influence in order to give those people access to your sheep, and there needs to be a reckoning for that.
00:33:45.000Megan, people can buy your book, purchase your book, final call to action for the audience.
00:33:49.000Should they continue to go to churches that are led by these types of shepherds?
00:33:52.000No, you need to get out of those churches.
00:33:54.000And by the way, the book is now a New York Times bestseller, so help us keep getting the word out, because that does help.
00:33:59.000But no, you do need to be in church, and I want to say that.
00:34:03.000If you are in one of these churches where your pastor has been using Megan Basham, excellent work.
00:34:09.000order to promote progressive politics. No, you absolutely need to get out of those churches,
00:34:14.000but it doesn't mean stop going to church. Find yourself a faithful church because the body of
00:34:19.000Christ needs to be built up with all of us faithfully involved in local congregations.
00:34:24.000So that's probably my biggest word. Nobody here wants to tear down the church or see people stop
00:34:29.000going. We need a strong, healthy church in America. Megan Basham, excellent work. Thank you so much.
