00:03:26.000Well, on June 4th, I'm sure lots of things happen in human history on June 4th, but the one that comes to mind was the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests.
00:03:37.000This is the anniversary, I think it's the 32nd anniversary of the last day of the protests at Tiananmen Square.
00:03:48.000Now, we've gone into great detail regarding the history of the Chinese Communist Party and Mao Zedong On how Mao Zedong took power after a broken China after World War II.
00:04:30.000And if any of you have ever read the Analects, which is the composition of all the Confucian belief and ideas, Mao Zedong intentionally misrepresented Confucian thought to take power.
00:04:46.000Using Sun Tzu's art of war, China became very effective at terrorizing its own citizens.
00:04:53.000In the 60s, 70s, and 80s, China became one of the most restrictive places on the planet for freedom of speech, freedom of commerce, and private property rights.
00:05:03.000Now, China got along well with the Soviet Union.
00:05:07.000Some considered China to be a proxy of the Soviet Union.
00:05:11.000But nevertheless, the Soviet Union fell in the early 90s, late 80s, officially in the early 90s.
00:05:19.000But in the late 80s, there were movements in China led by students to try and liberate parts of China from Communist Party control.
00:05:35.000There were restrictions on political participation.
00:05:38.000There were restrictions on freedom of speech, inflation, sound familiar public corruption.
00:05:49.000Over a million students went to Tiananmen Square.
00:05:54.000Now, Tiananmen Square is in Beijing, China.
00:05:57.000Beijing, of course, is the capital of China.
00:06:00.000Beijing is where most of the action happens.
00:06:04.000It's also where Mao Zedong is put to rest and in some ways deified.
00:06:09.000Why we ever allowed the Olympics to happen in 2008 in China was one of the greatest mistakes, I think, in my lifetime that I saw.
00:06:18.000I don't know if you remember those Olympics, but we almost celebrated how organized and how unified China was and how what a wonderful display they put on in the open ceremony.
00:06:29.000It makes me sick even thinking about it.
00:06:31.000But on June 4th, 1989, the Chinese Communist Party decided to flex their muscles.
00:06:42.000They decided that the protests that were happening in Tiananmen Square, the pro-democracy movement, which I don't love that phrase, but let's just say the pro-representation movement, it needed to be crushed.
00:06:55.000And so they mobilized 300,000 members of the People Liberation Army.
00:07:05.000After mobilizing 300,000 members of the People Liberation Army, needless to say, many of the protests and the martial law worked.
00:07:16.000The protests dissipated and martial law worked.
00:07:26.000Estimates say that at least a couple thousand students were killed.
00:07:32.000And more protests across China in reaction came to be.
00:07:36.000Now, what happened after that is one of the most famous images of all time.
00:07:42.000What happened after that is one of the most famous moments in, let's just say, public protest history, which is the day after, which is June 5th, a man by the name of Tank Man decided to face the People's Liberation Army by himself.
00:08:02.000And he himself just decided as a student to just face the army.
00:08:06.000And the tank tried to go right and he went right.
00:08:08.000And the tank tried to go left, he went left.
00:08:10.000Now, we do not know who this person is.
00:09:28.000China is the largest atheist country ever to exist in the history of the world.
00:09:34.000There were larger countries and civilizations that existed, but they weren't atheists.
00:09:39.000They believed in some sort of sun god or rain god or river god.
00:09:42.000No, this is the largest civilization ever to exist that teaches its children there is no higher power, that the ultimate reason for living is to accumulate material power over one another.
00:09:57.000And they do that through this construction of what is known as the Chinese Communist Party.
00:10:04.000The foreign minister of China, Wang Wenbin, made the remarks during a press conference saying that United States needs to look in the mirror.

00:11:13.000As soon as the information finally gets out in China, in any way it might, what keeps Xi Jinping up at night, what keeps Winnie the Pooh Stalin up at night, is the idea that the people are going to rise up against him.
00:11:27.000Xi Jinping is paranoid that another Tiananmen Square might be coming soon.
00:11:32.000And this June 4th, we remember the student protesters that tried to topple the Chinese Communist Party.
00:11:39.000And God willing, it'll hope it happen sometime soon.
