00:01:07.860 to be here i love everything that you do i think it's so necessary what you're doing i think that

00:01:13.400 you give people uh that that don't have the nerve to speak up for themselves somebody that's gonna do

00:01:20.500 it and say look it's okay what's gonna happen the next day if you do speak up for yourself period

00:01:25.480 you know what i mean rent's gonna be the same price right gas is gonna be eight hundred dollars a

00:01:30.640 gallon still gonna hate your job up for yourself die on it come on anyone anyone anything just say 0.82

00:01:37.700 something yeah thank you so much i appreciate that and likewise i think i am such a huge fan of drag

00:01:44.580 just as an art form but obviously drag race and i know i watched your season i'm sorry i'm sorry

00:01:50.600 don't be sorry don't be sorry many legends including yourself and all seasons of drag race but

00:01:55.960 especially yours so i'm honored to have you here uh it's funny because i've had lots of queens on my

00:02:01.820 show um and every time someone's like you know you're really like whenever i post uh promos with

00:02:07.520 other queens too uh i get comments that are like you know you're like really making it or funny if

00:02:14.640 drag artists love you oh it's like period that's the highest compliment to me i love that that i have

00:02:21.980 uh support from people like you so thank you so much for being would you ever do um one of those um

00:02:28.120 like they used to have drag race that have like the drag you or drag whatever hell yeah you know

00:02:33.940 i'll do anything anything that you guys want i mean you already have the look like the boots

00:02:38.320 come on like you're ready to go tall yeah gorgeous oh thank you young i'm perfect hilarious hilarious

00:02:46.540 perfect humble the most glamorous yeah it's not funny when people are like no but i'm humble i've

00:02:52.420 heard people say they're like i'm i'm a really humble person i'm like you can't say that yeah and

00:02:58.400 also well we can we can humble because i am humble right at the end of the day i am humble yeah

00:03:03.460 uh i think and giving and giving and so selfless right and i don't even look in the mirror ever

00:03:09.540 like i'm not about that i don't have mirrors what is the mirror i don't even know i couldn't even

00:03:13.660 cover them if like if someone died i wouldn't even be able to cover them i'm like a vampire

00:03:17.900 can't see me the world is a vampire and it's sent to drain

00:03:21.540 so how long would you say you've been doing drag full-time uh i would say

00:03:32.580 like like 2000 really full-time as an like as my employment yeah probably well probably even before

00:03:41.880 that i would say just before the turn of the century can you imagine saying that the turn of the century

00:03:47.740 literally i in fact because i can remember we would shop in the santee alley and there was a

00:03:54.180 time when everything was y2k related and there used to be clear high heels that said y2k on them

00:03:59.960 and i was like i have to have these for new year's eve they're gonna be the ones yeah and everyone was

00:04:04.440 like what are you gonna do after i'm like the world's supposed to explode like i don't know i

00:04:09.400 wasn't planning i don't care about after like i haven't paid any of my bills no i'm just so yeah

00:04:14.480 i'm full sending it yeah i would say i would say yeah not like 99 a long time you when were you born

00:04:21.520 2014 i was born 95 jesus i'm gonna be 28 this year wow girl and what are you 29 uh just about well

00:04:32.000 i should i should be honest i'm 31 i should be very honest listen 31 it's okay life gets better in

00:04:38.020 your 30s i've heard i hope i wouldn't know i wouldn't know i'm so far away you are far away

00:04:43.120 it's just a baby i'm just a baby i'm just a teenage girl at the end of the day i'm a teenage girl as

00:04:49.180 well well you know it's all the same what uh drew you to drag as an art form you know i think it was

00:04:58.860 probably sort of a vessel in a way to navigating the queer world yeah i think the queer world even

00:05:08.880 this far into what we're 2023 yeah uh i think it's still so looks based yeah it's i mean it's all about

00:05:18.880 appearance there's a term that that comes around we don't hear very much but i use it a lot sort of

00:05:23.680 the preference gaze that are like i don't like this this or this it's just a preference it's just

00:05:29.580 a preference i only like and i only date people who look exactly like me it's like well then then 1.00

00:05:33.980 you why don't you just fuck yourself then like i don't i'm confused go somewhere else and do it 1.00

00:05:38.780 and so for me you know uh a chicano kid growing up in you know the 562 yeah um fat 1.00

00:05:49.240 and thinking how do i fit into this realm because i wasn't born to blend in but stand out

00:05:58.480 period right i can stand out this way i can just do do really really good at this and

00:06:04.320 understanding what drag was and you know all these years later we realize that people say like

00:06:08.620 all drag is valid and i'm like it's all valid but it's not all good yeah i've seen other queens

00:06:14.540 i'm with you it's valid i'm not going to take it away from you because maybe mine's not good in the

00:06:18.300 mind of other people yeah you know what i mean i was i grew up in in the 90s drag seeing that

00:06:23.380 thinking and i know i still carry those elements with me so i think that was part of it but i didn't

00:06:28.420 realize that until i look back at it yeah you know what i mean yeah hindsight's 2020 for sure but

00:06:35.420 you know i i love it i i don't i like to say i don't see myself doing anything else but i feel

00:06:42.480 like because of the pandemic we all had to learn how to do something else yeah outside of like

00:06:47.140 public performance and stuff would you say is it like shocking to see how well i'll use like a

00:06:54.900 parallel to like because me i'm just like an influencer which is such an icky word but like

00:07:00.320 you know there are many kids nowadays who look at like the culture of influencing and they're like oh

00:07:06.380 i don't want to go to college i don't want to do this i want to be an influencer which is such a

00:07:10.220 strange dichotomy now looking back like because when i was a kid obviously like i didn't strive to that

00:07:16.260 because that didn't exist when i was a child so like for you would you say that it's strange to

00:07:21.420 see that kind of on the drag world side of things because there are many people now since drag is so

00:07:26.100 prominent in culture now for the public to see it's always been around which i tell people all the time

00:07:32.020 it's a long-standing art form it has been around for a very long time it's just now becoming like

00:07:38.040 mainstream where people are aware and now you see people who are like really pursuing drag as like a

00:07:43.800 career um who may may or may not have been as well versed in the culture like is that strange to see

00:07:49.340 is it is it refreshing i think it's exciting i mean i definitely do feel like when i saw that

00:07:56.180 starting to happen was during the pandemic because i can remember the day of lockdown i was with a

00:08:02.620 friend we used to go to this uh i don't know if you're familiar with like el torrito or acapulco i

00:08:06.900 love el torrito are you kidding they used to have the lunch buffet yeah where you make your own

00:08:11.560 tacos absolutely i remember we went and we like got there and there was a sign that was like closed

00:08:16.900 uh for whatever it just said like closed indefinitely or temporary whatever the word was we were like

00:08:23.520 why is this happening yeah and so we immediately went into lockdown and we were scrambling to like

00:08:28.500 get toilet paper and do this and do that and then i realized how am i gonna make my money yeah how do i do

00:08:33.940 this and a few of us were like just turn your phone on and go live like do something and then we

00:08:39.440 realized like if you just put a backdrop up if you just hone down to just a couple of topics maybe

00:08:46.320 um and then maybe you can do a drag but then that's when we realized sort of the and this is uh maybe a

00:08:53.000 flex so be it i have no muscle so if i can flex in this way i will the cream rises to the top

00:08:59.360 absolutely you are able to sell in a camera for a second to someone and they're captivated by something

00:09:06.180 or they're compelled by something yeah absolutely you can then parlay the drag that you do

00:09:11.740 visually like all the way just down into that so like i remember thinking i'm gonna do um a one

00:09:18.560 one person show so i called my one person show the big black dress because if you can go anywhere in a

00:09:25.040 little black dress you can go everywhere in a big one oh period and so i would just do dialogues that

00:09:29.720 went one to another to another to another yeah and i would just switch out switch out accessories

00:09:33.720 that told who that character was yeah so in that i realized wow like i could do maybe better

00:09:42.340 than when i was not but of course people were super generous yeah during the pandemic so i think there

00:09:47.840 was people that had like money that were like i'm gonna tip you 100 bucks or i'm gonna tip you

00:09:51.660 whatever um and people needed um some kind of outlet right to watch like something positive some

00:09:57.560 some kind of escape where they could like enjoy themselves yeah i feel like that is where i learned

00:10:02.840 that i could parlay it into something yeah and then now when i watch drag race like for instance um

00:10:09.300 there's the two the two dolls that kind of got a lot of heat uh sugar and spice they got a lot of heat 0.88

00:10:15.120 yeah and i thought why are they getting so much heat because this is drag now this is what's happening

00:10:22.820 if you can um you know when you want corporate sponsorship or something like that people need to

00:10:28.200 know what is your digital footprint yeah how do we know you who's going to see this and those dolls

00:10:33.680 people know who they are now people are like well they don't perform in the club maybe they don't need

00:10:38.460 to maybe they don't want to yeah maybe texaco or whatever company it is doesn't need that they need

00:10:44.920 people who can get in that little tiny square and fucking make it happen absolutely and i love it i love it 0.86

00:10:51.680 for them it's such like i want it for me i feel like it's like an extension too like it's just it's 0.93

00:10:56.200 it's another branch that's like a different kind of drag which i think people aren't used to so i'm

00:11:02.440 sure that's why people were like i don't know how to feel about this well and i think a platform like

00:11:06.980 yours too yeah really really lifts uh drag because there are people that uh there's obviously there's

00:11:15.000 always going to be people that don't like it and i get it yeah and then there's going to be people

00:11:18.600 that just don't understand yeah and they need their handheld yeah and so when they watch you

00:11:24.220 interact and they realize oh so nothing negative happened yeah oh so you were still allowed to go

00:11:33.980 uh i don't know cast your ballot how you wanted to cast your ballot you you left here unnamed like

00:11:39.860 unharmed well so you mean everyone's not out to like kill me everyone in a wig is not trying to

00:11:46.400 hurt me i'll tell you what i'm i'm drag queens i worship i do not fear i wish i could be that

00:11:55.240 talented that's how i see drag but you lift you lift the drag and it makes a big difference it

00:11:59.840 really is something that not a lot of people do and you put your neck on the line yeah as an ally

00:12:04.740 you really do so i appreciate that well thank you for your art form i think i admire drag so much

00:12:10.160 because i feel like it embodies everything that i love about entertainment which is just like it's

00:12:16.160 the pageantry of it talent right being funny like being so unabashedly yourself as a character but

00:12:24.620 then also that's like really who you are i just find that just absolutely amazing i love that you say

00:12:30.780 that because i do know quite a few uh drag i guess everybody enters or or conducts themselves in drag

00:12:36.120 differently for me i do feel like it just gives me carte blanche to say some of the things that i

00:12:40.300 would have said anyway but maybe i feel like i have my armor on yeah yeah absolutely and so i think

00:12:47.200 because of that that's i feel like i'm the same person in or out of it yeah but i know there are

00:12:52.420 people that believe that they've like cultivated a character and so maybe they go into that yeah and

00:12:57.640 that is an even maybe bigger shell in a way i don't know i don't know if i'm saying the words right

00:13:02.800 yeah no that makes sense it's like it's sometimes it's an extension of themselves sometimes it is who

00:13:09.000 they are it's just like in a in a prettier outfit yeah it just depends i think i think so but i'm

00:13:14.020 such a big fan so i'm honored to have you someone was like this is just drew and every famous drag

00:13:19.360 queen ever and i was like i'm cool with that you guys can use my show forever i love it i'm okay with

00:13:24.460 that so speaking of drag as an art form today our topic what we're going to talk about is how

00:13:34.340 obviously how drag is art but also how it's influenced so much culture that is popular today

00:13:41.860 that people don't even realize which is why when they say like you know oh it's just they they try 0.96

00:13:47.920 to pigeonhole what drag is and it's ignorant people who are bigots and unemployed probably 0.86

00:13:53.500 people who demonize it are people who don't understand it and don't care to obviously but 0.92

00:14:00.500 they don't realize like how influential it is on on all aspects of culture like right everything that

00:14:07.160 falls under the umbrella of art like so music tv jokes your vernacular like a lot of that can be

00:14:13.960 traced back to drag culture for sure which is crazy to think about that some people don't know that

00:14:18.080 yeah and i think even further than that i mean i think uh you know there's a lot of uh phrases like

00:14:25.660 you said the vernacular or um small words that drag queens use or drag entertainers use uh in camaraderie

00:14:35.920 or in what you would be like sort of locker room talk i mean have all in themselves been appropriated

00:14:43.000 from black women absolutely 100 i mean black culture yeah for sure and that's uh a space that

00:14:49.980 i think a lot of people then don't want to talk about because it's like well you know uh but but

00:14:55.180 when and how and and and it's just like why not just acknowledge it just acknowledge it that's okay

00:14:59.580 just it's it's okay to say the truth yeah it's not uh in fact it's better that you say that it's better

00:15:05.160 that we know that yes like this this is truly like for myself i consider myself uh because when i was

00:15:11.560 coming up in drag the the term was like are you a celebrity impersonator are you a female

00:15:15.860 impersonator are you a camp queen like what are you and i was like i love the idea of female

00:15:22.780 impersonation but then of course because it is it's drag like it has to be you know i could just put on

00:15:29.140 a t-shirt and like very little makeup just try to cover up my beard and like yeah but people when

00:15:35.400 they come to a show like they don't want to see you look like the person that's sitting in the front

00:15:39.320 row it needs to be a little bit more yeah but or a lot more that's where the pageantry of it 0.95

00:15:45.220 comes into play and so you kind of try to strike that balance of like well who are you inspired by

00:15:49.980 like what what do you what do you remind people of like i have people all the time that are like

00:15:54.220 um you know they'll they'll pay a compliment and they'll say you remind me so much of my aunt or you

00:15:59.660 remind me of my mom and that's the highest form of compliment even though they'll giggle after 0.97

00:16:03.900 because i think they think you're probably going to perceive this as like a little bit fucked up 0.94

00:16:08.400 yeah and i'm like why your mom your aunt your nina like whoever like those are the people that 0.96

00:16:13.540 you go to for comfort yeah and so they'll say oh you were such heavy perfume it reminds me of them

00:16:18.680 yeah i love it i love that feeling i when i grew up my aunt had her own beauty salon and that was

00:16:24.720 back when people used to get acrylic before dip and everything else and i remember i would go sit

00:16:29.440 there i would sweep and and they would have their conversations and that was inspiring to me just

00:16:35.000 because i loved that camaraderie and i love the fact that like some people were way too overdone

00:16:41.460 and some people just came in for a little trim and they were simple like there's it's it's interesting

00:16:46.840 um i went to beauty school in the 90s uh before i that was like right before i started to get into

00:16:52.840 drag oh love and we just we used to talk about in class like hairstyles for women yeah and when those

00:17:01.020 things began to change when women stopped going into the salon and it was the idea yeah and the 0.99

00:17:07.140 idea was that women had to start providing yeah because they were being able to speak up for 1.00

00:17:13.480 themselves and say i don't need to be in that relationship i don't owe you that relationship

00:17:17.080 yeah i owe me this real i owe me my relationship with me and if i have kids then i have kids and if i 0.91

00:17:22.720 don't i don't but that's not your fucking decision yeah and it's not for you that doesn't make me more 0.99

00:17:26.900 qualified and to be a woman yeah and so women were like saying okay but i do want to dye my hair i just 0.97

00:17:33.140 can't make it to a salon yeah we just start doing these things at home dang so they started like more

00:17:39.120 at home kits were being sold in the 80s so interesting to think about how that works and how it's evolved

00:17:45.240 like and how i totally didn't answer your question and went like off on a tangent which i always do it's

00:17:50.460 okay i love it i'm sorry i love a tangent girl i'm a mess i literally i think i don't have

00:17:55.380 i don't think there's anything in my brain but like fumes from perfume

00:17:58.980 i mean that i you know what i think your brain is beautiful and i love i love a good tangent

00:18:05.280 sometimes i'll talk like i'll tell my boyfriend i'm like oh my god the craziest thing happened to me

00:18:10.200 today and then i start the story and then i go a million different directions and then i go

00:18:15.820 anyways yeah and i don't even finish my original he's so used to it now that he goes what were you

00:18:20.820 originally trying to tell me i'm like oh yeah um i picked up some oranges at the store that was the

00:18:26.260 whole point yeah but i but i was talking for 45 minutes do you eat out a lot at all like do you go

00:18:30.980 all the time yeah do you have a hard time narrowing down like where you want to eat and why yeah you

00:18:35.960 know it's bad you know you eat out a lot too when you're like we had that yesterday oh my god

00:18:40.560 completely i'm a doordash connoisseur i've had to assign days for certain restaurants

00:18:46.800 just so that like my partner doesn't get like angry like he doesn't get angry but like there's

00:18:52.860 a mexican restaurant we love to go to yeah taco rico and it's right up the street from us you know

00:18:57.760 it's going to be good when the chips are in a wooden bowl period the um the salsa is going to be in

00:19:02.900 like a plastic moca jete right this is how it's presented you order up front but then they bring it

00:19:08.020 to you yep and there's always going to be for some reason like french pictures on the walls of like

00:19:12.620 little boys with the lamb and i'm like why is that there i'm not i'm vibes ambiance and that's

00:19:19.080 the ambiance yeah and so i'm always like we have to go there at least on sunday and i like to go one

00:19:24.860 other time like a thursday night nice but if i don't get it on that sunday i'm like i'm just

00:19:30.640 whole day all the garden has to be at a certain time i have to pace them out yeah i feel you i just

00:19:35.840 do because then everybody's like oh we ate there so i know it's you know what sucks too is like 0.55

00:19:41.820 especially you know this because you've been in in the entertainment industry for a long time but

00:19:46.480 like there's like no point in grocery shopping sometimes because you're gone all the time

00:19:51.420 when i first moved into my new home like i bought a whole bunch of groceries and i was like oh we'll be 0.97

00:19:57.100 set for like at least a month girl all that shit went bad i had to throw it all in the trash i know 0.98

00:20:01.600 because then you leave and you're gone for three weeks and you're like okay oh all my shit rotted i 0.99

00:20:05.940 love that uh-huh waste of money throw in the trash well and i forget to like that um i forget to check 0.97

00:20:11.960 dates on stuff when i buy it i'm like it's they just put it out so it must be fresh right me too but 0.97

00:20:17.440 all that old shit is in the front i know my mom taught me to always pull from the back right i should 0.87

00:20:21.560 be i should be paying attention i'm not i'm no good it's just pointless it's so pointless to shop i'm like 0.98

00:20:27.040 i'm just a teenage girl i have to order food all the time i don't like when people are like

00:20:31.320 where do you want to eat i'm like well where do you want to go like do you want burgers or do we

00:20:36.180 want and then like my partner will say like yeah that sounds i'm down for whatever like we can go

00:20:40.360 wherever yeah but i don't want to go in or i do want to go sit down i don't want to go to a drive

00:20:45.840 through he's like well i don't want it's just i know i hate when you your um significant other is 0.67

00:20:51.680 like i don't care and then you're like okay what about this i don't want that yeah you just said you 0.60

00:20:55.800 don't care right so you're a liar right that's what you're telling me i could tell that you're lying 1.00

00:20:59.320 so you're a liar so you're a big liar fully lying to me yesterday that's like such a stupid example 1.00

00:21:06.620 but yesterday uh we were we ordered food and my boyfriend was like oh let's get pickup sticks 1.00

00:21:11.980 mind you i've been like i don't want pickup sticks like i want something else and i've been fending

00:21:16.740 off pickup sticks the last like 10 times he's asked me okay and every time i'm like no i don't want

00:21:22.100 that and he's like you never want to eat there and i was yesterday i caved i was like okay fine i don't

00:21:26.780 care just get it so he got it and then after we ate it and we were chill we were just kind of

00:21:32.260 hanging out and then like an hour later he goes honestly i'd be fine if i never ate there again

00:21:37.180 for a while and also it's almost like i wonder if someone else in this room suggested that we get

00:21:42.140 something else because this food is not that great i'm so here's my i love being right as a virgo

00:21:48.020 like i gotta have if i'm gonna have chinese i have to have like the mom and pop place that's

00:21:53.860 that's exactly what i said i was like i want the real stuff there's a place actually in in riverside

00:22:01.980 called rising savior like the savior oh and they um put duct tape to close i swear to you they put

00:22:11.580 duct tape and um when i go to panda is funny i need panda to calm down girl when i eat panda

00:22:20.660 i'm starving after every panda plate is in a moose bouche and i'll hear nothing else i will hear

00:22:27.440 nothing else but what i want to know is why pickup stick swears that they're having a night in shanghai

00:22:31.900 like calm down it's not like that at all that just cool it i'm like the 15 year old boy who packed

00:22:38.140 my lunch like he's never been to china i need to see that i need to see the chow mein coming out a

00:22:42.200 little bit yeah that's why i'm busting at the seams come on and they just don't do it like that they

00:22:46.560 don't panda express is another one that i'm like this is an appetizer and nothing more and they try to

00:22:51.760 have this have you heard they have the the uh chicken sandwich no knock it off knock it off

00:22:57.100 at panda express they'll have they you can go to like four different locations i think there's one

00:23:01.060 out towards you one near me is in downey and uh they get the patty and then they just pour some

00:23:08.000 sauce on it and put it in like a brioche bun and the world has gone insane why can't you just have

00:23:14.580 like regular stuff just one it's like all plates and just one sandwich and we let you get away

00:23:21.880 with uh cream cheese wontons as a like non-traditional item and we're cool with it but then that you're

00:25:03.140 that to me um but it's because of the thousand island i feel you if i go to mcdonald's i order

00:25:07.960 the the one with two cheeseburgers but i want them plain i'm a chicken nuggy girl see what why do

00:25:13.840 they taste like the refrigerator tell me why do you like that probably because they came out of a

00:25:17.040 refrigerator and you like it yeah girl i eat it up out there when they show me when i said i like those

00:25:21.580 when i say i like those nugs and they're like did you know that they're made out of that pink sludge 0.98

00:25:27.720 i don't care i kind of don't care either i don't care no i don't like people telling me what's i 0.93

00:25:31.660 know it's my body's not a temple it's a dumpster absolutely that's what i'm and i'm throwing trash

00:25:36.240 in that absolutely what's the um people say can you believe taco bell the meat they cut it with oatmeal

00:25:41.540 good i'm doing something good for myself then finally you're getting my protein that wonderful my

00:25:45.460 fiber you should be happy for me moving my bowels as i should well you know i don't have a problem

00:25:50.820 regardless of what i mean i love sue plantation bring her back i know they said they're going to

00:26:00.100 be opening one they were going to open one in san diego then it fell through but i heard they're

00:26:04.280 opening a sweet tomatoes which is like the same company oh in phoenix i would love to see us rent

00:26:10.500 a bus let's drive there just the two of us or we could sell tickets oh yeah meet and greet

00:26:16.320 two sue plantation every old person within a 50 mile radius and the two of us i love it

00:26:22.800 i love it the older the better because i i love old people and i love that i love i talk too loud

00:26:28.880 anyway and they can hear it perfect perfect old people find me probably the same thing as you they

00:26:35.860 find me like i feel like they see me as like a jester just like a clown like they love to hear me

00:26:41.220 talk because i'm just so loud and i find you super elegant oh thank you that's my my first my first

00:26:46.520 description of you would be elegant smart thank you so much uh definitely outspoken oh my god great

00:26:53.140 right and so beautiful you can fool people though because like that's why your hair is super elegant 0.99

00:26:57.740 your jewelry yeah that's what i'm saying and then they come in and you're like sit your ass down 0.99

00:27:01.780 sit your ass and you scare them i love that yeah girl i'm all about misdirection yeah that's what 1.00

00:27:08.840 i'm all about oh my fast food place that i hate that i think is universally loved is raising king 1.00

00:27:14.820 i can't why i don't get her why is everything steamed in the box and people are like oh it's so good i

00:27:22.140 know you can't take how good this is no one's gonna gaslight me they're not gonna gaslight me

00:27:26.660 into liking that place i'm so sorry the whole business is built on a sauce

00:27:30.560 and it's not even that good it's not it's thousand island shut up give me another sauce yeah i hate that 0.84

00:27:37.800 there's only one sauce and then people tried to gaslight me and tell me oh there's honey mustard

00:27:41.600 well there wasn't the first time i went because i asked and they said we only have one so i went and

00:27:46.600 someone told me um the first time i went they were like you know you can get all fries if you don't

00:27:50.420 want coleslaw and i was like no i want to try it all like as it is and then the next time so then i

00:27:54.780 got forced to go another time because i was with people at gunpoint yeah it was the only thing around

00:28:00.600 and i was in like a big like van of people i'm like it's fine and you don't want to be that one

00:28:04.900 person that's like i hate i was like oh no i love it you guys it's cute like i'm just gonna get

00:28:08.980 like a salad like something fun and we get there and i was like everybody was screaming this is i hate

00:28:16.340 this but when when everybody in the drive-thru has to lean out the window and place their own order

00:28:21.120 oh girl i want one person ordering yeah so they were made us do that and i'm like whatever so i'm

00:28:26.800 like can i is there another side other than the coleslaw because the coleslaw i mean solo cup

00:28:33.900 if right if that and so they said well you could get all fries or would you like an extra sauce

00:28:40.120 an extra sauce was the option in place to replace the side

00:28:45.720 don't piss me off come on don't piss me off my my boyfriend loves raising canes and i don't but he

00:28:56.600 gets like double double toast so double toast tenders fries i mean i just it's texas toast and

00:29:04.220 we can all say it like if you could go to your nearest sam's club costco walmart look up texas 0.91

00:29:09.400 toast fry it it's the same shit why can't how come no one's come up with a styrofoam container that 0.96

00:29:15.480 has holes in it already so the steam can come out so does it make your fries soggy no kind of crunch 0.98

00:29:20.180 any of that food any of that and then the line all over the place and why do people act like they

00:29:24.920 just opened they're been here forever everyone's like we've got to get in line i'm if i'm not in

00:29:29.920 line i don't understand what are you doing yeah like it reminds me of like the covid vaccine line

00:29:35.180 yeah like when you're like moving along you're like well we have to do this you guys we're all

00:29:39.140 in it together yeah we're all in the same boat but so they treat canes yeah i'm telling you it's

00:29:45.800 one big gaslight and i'm not falling for it i keep going like this they can't it looks good girl

00:29:51.200 it's okay you know what um here's the thing about about the food if i went on a canes

00:29:58.700 big mac diet i would be so thin can you imagine if that's all if i was like i only eat that yeah

00:30:05.220 i would be so thin yeah you're gonna take it if i just you fall right out of that i would

00:30:11.020 you slide into the crack we could both sit in this chair together together side by side facing

00:30:16.300 forward we could that would be me on panda express diet yeah you can well what do you get there if

00:30:20.940 you have to get something if i do i get double orange chicken yeah and then sometimes it depends

00:30:27.280 sometimes i get all fried rice sometimes i get fried rice and chow mein i have a lot of respect

00:30:31.500 for people that are like i'm gonna have the super greens as the entree and i'm like well you're not

00:30:36.500 you are when they say that i say you're not better than me right because you think you are

00:30:41.580 i hope you don't think i really see what you're doing here i have i have someone in my family that

00:30:46.300 will um if they're like i remember one time we were like it was like a painting party or something

00:30:51.000 where somebody had moved in and they had gone out to go get food for everyone and it was kind of

00:30:54.860 that storyline where you're like i'm just gonna get like 10 hamburgers or whatever so they got it

00:30:59.360 and then slipped over to me a salad they said i just was helping you slipped the salad and said i'm just

00:31:05.500 helping you you were helping you some people have audacity they do and they don't mind i think

00:31:14.800 they're um they're just fortified to believe like you know i she's cool with it she's cool with it

00:31:20.480 don't worry about it i know more than you do that's me when when i um i'm like at the airport and i take

00:31:27.360 the escalator and like my i look after our flight and my boyfriend takes the stairs my boyfriend and my

00:31:32.880 dad do that i'm like you're not better than me you think you're better than me you're not

00:31:36.140 you're giving me all these reasons to never flirt with your boyfriend the case the stairs the all

00:31:43.500 the reason and he's probably gorgeous too i know he is oh he is girl where is he you can see him

00:31:47.960 there he is oh i know him yeah he's a big man girl

00:31:51.480 me too me too same is this that place like on the way to vegas yes stop it what happens over there

00:31:59.640 i see it and i'm like why you're gonna get arrested for going over there

00:32:03.920 i honestly don't know we just saw it and we drove over there it's not worth it if i'm being honest

00:32:09.300 with you is it the is it an ice cream place or it's literally just rocks it's just the rocks because

00:32:13.680 i always see a thing that says like jimmy's world or something ice cream and i'm like oh that kind of

00:32:17.940 looks like yeah that's i think it's called seven rocks or seven i've something like that but you 0.79

00:32:23.700 literally park far as fuck and then you have to walk all the way to the rocks it's not worth it 0.95

00:32:29.180 not even a little bit what's his name his name is peely yeah sure is 0.99

00:32:33.080 you know what he owes me shit he owes me shit i'll tell him i'll let him know he's be you guys are 0.97

00:32:41.580 beautiful together thank you that's beautiful thank you so much i love those pictures thank you um yeah 0.98

00:32:46.400 no you know what come on the canes knock it off all of them all of it stop which one is which have

00:32:52.940 you heard that you they have the munchie meals at jack in the box yeah girl i've i've partaken okay 0.98

00:32:59.560 i have you have did i shit myself yes uh did i enjoy myself no no you don't there's something you 0.92

00:33:08.760 can't you can't not everything can be in the same fryer no and i but they make sure they they they put 0.98

00:33:15.060 it all in the same well the when i really knew that they didn't give a fuck was when they were like 0.62

00:33:20.300 we're just gonna throw the churros in there yeah we're gonna throw them in with tacos you're fine 0.85

00:33:25.080 and i'm like you you didn't you could have separated it in the little sleeve like some way

00:33:30.420 they don't care and they need to update their desserts too i'm just thinking about the kid that's

00:33:36.000 serving me at two in the morning when i do give in to a munchie meal right that's not i'm not proud

00:33:42.540 of that choice no when i make it when i make it and i commit to i'm not proud of it no it doesn't

00:33:47.040 make me feel good no it's just it's something i've made peace with but you're keeping those

00:33:50.600 kids off the street you really and that's community service yes that's add self lists yeah the list of

00:33:57.040 reasons round my 97 cents up do it round it up that's for you that's for you don't say i never 0.95

00:34:04.760 did nothing but stop asking for a tip god damn if you ask one more time for a living wage what else 0.76

00:34:13.520 what else but why do i have to supplement the living wage why do i have to do it it's true 0.98

00:34:17.680 why do i mean i will say i'm at a drag show and i'll take them dollars when they come out my way

00:34:22.120 but i mean those are those are cash gifts yeah that's different those are gifts at your altar

00:34:28.160 yeah those are gifts at your altar yeah that's how i would see it yeah when i'm at a drag show

00:34:33.520 people are just like you know what give her a dollar i can't believe she's still making it 1.00

00:34:36.520 she made it up them stairs twice they're like good for you good for you encourage her

00:34:42.500 okay let's get into these videos okay so we're talking obviously about drag um and the art form

00:34:51.500 that it is and how it's inspired so much of popular culture today and obviously as we're all i'm sure if

00:34:57.180 you're not you should be aware of the war on drag right now which is really a smokescreen for attacking 0.99

00:35:04.040 our trans community our trans friends but they target drag performers which is cowardly and stupid 0.95

00:35:10.060 which we all know over here but we're gonna watch some videos that are applicable to our topic for 0.95

00:35:15.420 those of you who don't know what we do on the comment section is we bring videos that i was tagged in

00:35:19.480 that apply to our topic today and then we'll laugh kiki have all the fun or get serious whatever is

00:35:25.380 required so love it in this video a drag queen at horrible is reading a children's story to a group

00:35:33.660 of kids the video subtitles talk about how she could now be arrested and convicted of a felony for hosting 1.00

00:35:39.520 this event because of tennessee's new law that outlaws any form of drag in front of minors which

00:35:44.800 was just ruled unconstitutional by the way thankfully however yeah it has been a really long road

00:35:52.140 especially it's been a really tough road yeah for drag performers and our trans friends too

00:35:56.640 yeah this entire past what year and a half now it's so weird you know i feel like i remember

00:36:05.140 one of my it's sort of controversial one of my favorite drag movies is called uh to wong fu thanks

00:36:12.480 for everything julie newmar and i remember that actually being part of the inspiration of what i wanted

00:36:18.880 to do in drag i loved vita boehm i thought oh my gosh she's so cool and collected and but i remembered

00:36:25.240 patrick swayze from dirty dancing being this the archetype of of of uh virility and and masculinity

00:36:32.080 and and desire and um nobody raised a stink when that movie came out nobody was upset nobody was

00:36:40.920 bothered they were like oh this is so cool it's so fun i don't know if it's because they were trivializing

00:36:46.320 it at the time they thought this is so impossible that it's just you know a fantasy and it is a

00:36:52.480 fantasy movie yeah and the reason i say it's controversial is because none of those actors

00:36:55.860 were queer people and none of them were drag queens yeah and so people were bothered by that i personally

00:37:00.020 was not bothered by it i'm very much in celebration of it uh in this day and age would i like to see

00:37:05.760 queer actors playing those queer roles absolutely yeah 100 percent um but you know they were risking 1.00

00:37:11.940 quite a bit at that time as all three of them yeah absolutely action actors yeah you know and people

00:37:17.860 and like masculine like you said so now when i think of like you know drag uh being so dangerous to 0.97

00:37:24.140 people as you said it's a smoke screen we get it yeah somebody has to uh be the collateral damage

00:37:30.180 um it's just it's just so transparent that i just feel like the people that perpetuate this

00:37:39.980 you would think at some point they would go you're so on to us like yeah you're so on to us we look 0.98

00:37:47.520 stupid yeah we look dumb now here's the thing i don't particularly um do um a drag queen story hour 0.98

00:37:55.740 because i don't know that i'm built for that i don't know that i that i have that approach yeah um 0.99

00:38:00.720 i am 100 on board that there are physical clothing and presentations that would be inappropriate for

00:38:08.340 certain situations yeah and i don't know particularly drag queens that put on those like you know the the 1.00

00:38:14.040 silicone breastplate with the pasty covers and they're like come here i want to read to you like

00:38:18.280 i think that's highly inappropriate yeah and they know that yeah and that doesn't happen yeah and

00:38:23.880 that's highly inappropriate to wear at uh you know on the senate floor if you're invited

00:38:28.440 you know what i mean i just thought um uh valentina was just at being recognized for something really

00:38:34.720 really major by the uh uh the uh the caucus but i can't remember specifically what region and what it

00:38:40.660 was yeah but she you know came in a t-length dress and was covered up and had a beautiful hairstyle 1.00

00:38:45.300 because she knew this is appropriate for this occasion yeah i'm being recognized i don't need to be 0.98

00:38:50.860 i'm not embarrassed yeah but this doesn't call for that well and you're not stupid yeah like why 0.93

00:38:57.980 would you wear that yeah like who who's gonna do like that's what i'm saying it's it's nothing more 0.78

00:39:03.100 than a smoke screen because it doesn't make sense and it doesn't factor in agency or autonomy for the

00:39:10.260 queens themselves like you're acting as if all drag queens first of all look the same are the same 0.99

00:39:17.060 like act the same what have you but also that they have no brain and no sense of what's appropriate

00:39:23.420 and what's not and what's like reading the room yeah it's just like you're stripping them of all

00:39:29.400 human rights which is just like the right to exist and perform and work and make money like i don't

00:39:35.900 understand it's like it's just such a it's such a sad thing to focus on especially now considering how

00:39:44.460 many problems there are in the world right in this country alone right so it's like when like you

00:39:50.980 said you know like we talked about it's a smoke screen but it's also like when you said they

00:39:55.460 like i can't believe that they don't know that okay yeah you're on to me right because it's like okay

00:40:00.460 you're okay fine i just don't want to pay a living wage right that's why i focus on drag queens 1.00

00:40:04.840 because well the hundred percent i mean that's that's all it is is the is the idea that if you keep you

00:40:10.560 the country is obviously built on greed and fear yeah and as long as this little tiny group of people

00:40:18.700 can fool this whole other group of people into believing you to hate each other yeah you then

00:40:26.280 they can just sit back and look and go look at them fight yeah look at them and they're never gonna 0.99

00:40:30.640 know and i mean everybody in this room everybody outside of this room wants the same fucking thing 0.98

00:40:38.000 they want their bills paid they want a little piece of land they want to be able to go sit on 0.98

00:40:43.100 the back porch and have a barbecue they want to have their car taken care of they want to have

00:40:47.460 enough to eat yeah listen and then anything above that is gravy yeah if you can have more have more

00:40:54.180 yeah that's wonderful but we can't even just like people what did i just see the other day there was a

00:40:59.060 there was a group of students being threatened to not get their diplomas because they still owed lunch

00:41:06.160 money to the school board yeah really insane really that that actual amount of money is so uh not just

00:41:15.000 at that school board but just in general across the board making sure that all these kids are eating so

00:41:19.380 their parents you know some of these kids go to school that one meal is the meal that yeah they're

00:41:23.800 they're low income students on top of that ironically like yeah they get they qualify for free reduced

00:41:29.300 lunch and then they're expected to pay that back at some point but we're not holding that accountable

00:41:34.740 because the beer has you know uh a rainbow or whatever you know come on don't drink the beer i just

00:41:42.000 can't imagine being so threatened by people that i've never met don't regularly interact with will

00:41:49.320 never see in any of the spaces i patron right i will never ever ever like girl there's no drag shows 0.68

00:41:56.800 at cracker barrel you're fine right relax what like one percent of the united states identifies

00:42:03.560 and and it's that's the one percent that's who you're going after that's what i'm saying there's

00:42:08.500 no other percentage like any of the places you exist or live your life you will never see trans people 0.99

00:42:14.760 there you'll never see drag queens there you're safe you're good relax like they're not going to the 1.00

00:42:21.380 golden corral like i promise you're okay girl like right chill and take solace in the fact

00:42:27.240 that your worldview is so narrow and so shallow that you will never interact with anybody that

00:42:33.560 you're attacking or so afraid of that was it was so it wasn't recently no you didn't go to vegas

00:42:40.140 recently no i think it was like 2018 you need to go to vegas i know where there's still three

00:42:44.580 active buffets i just want you to know i want people to know this because it happens i know they

00:42:49.260 think i love it but it's not gone i'm not saying that you eat a bunch i'm just saying i know you're

00:42:53.900 a person who likes to make i love a buffet and i do eat a bunch no you don't knock it off you don't

00:42:59.620 you think you do but you don't a girl i do love to eat i do be eaten 0.73

00:43:04.280 have you ever been to hometown buffet i have been to hometown buffet it's not great it's not um not at

00:43:13.080 all but i'm someone and someone people girl they love a hometown after every funeral

00:43:20.540 hometown buffet yeah and i've been to hundreds of funerals which is not a good thing my family is

00:43:25.920 just that big but every every time i go to hometown i think of going to a funeral so um this wasn't a

00:43:34.180 good story it was no it is a great story um i used to have a friend uh and her name was

00:43:40.760 oh period and um she used to tell me that her samoan family would go to um hometown and would

00:43:49.780 get there half an hour before breakfast was over yeah into lunch and that's and i learned like

00:43:55.180 there's a trick to this there's a way to do this yeah so you don't have to pay again hell yeah but

00:43:59.860 you stay for the for the meal change you don't have to stay all day you just want your options yeah

00:44:04.140 girl you get there at 11 30 time it right by the time you go in it's 11 45 get the breakfast

00:44:11.160 changing the plates time for lunch and then you stay for six hours yeah yeah i know that is so

00:44:16.140 hit to the game we're probably at the same hometown yeah me and her probably at the same hometown i love

00:44:21.520 it okay back to this video so these are some of the comments on the video this one says totally

00:44:27.640 misleading this is not a drag performance you're reading a story is it so hard not to dance in a

00:44:32.960 sexually provocative way around kids i can't tell if that's in support or not yeah i can't really

00:44:40.620 that's kind of misleading speaking of misleading i mean you're right that's not a drag performance

00:44:47.120 they're just in drag reading something and why do the same people get so like caught like i don't know

00:44:55.760 they get caught like you're gonna like we're like the little mermaid storyline like yeah you're

00:45:02.240 really gonna get all your rifles and shit geared up and you're like i'm so upset about this cartoon 0.90

00:45:08.140 i'm so mad i knew that the second amendment was made for this it was made for this here's the thing 0.97

00:45:17.000 that makes you so mad you want to pull out a gun you got bigger problems up here i get it i get it that

00:45:22.820 the country could be attacked and we need to be uh you know we need to have the weapons ready

00:45:27.500 it's about you don't need to be carrying a wet like if you're just a person and with an apartment

00:45:31.940 you why would you need that you don't need heavy artillery whatsoever not not even a little bit and

00:45:38.860 then you're stressed out about the drag show i don't want your kids at the show i don't want your 0.84

00:45:44.880 kids to come to my show i do i do brunches sometimes and sometimes whoever's like hosting will come

00:45:50.580 back and they'll go there's three kids in the front and they'll and that will change the dichotomy

00:45:56.280 for me yeah because i'm texting the dj like please move this number to get that because for my personal

00:46:03.540 choice i don't want those parents to have to answer a question even though they knew coming in there

00:46:09.160 that it says this is adult content yeah you may have to answer some questions i don't want to be part

00:46:14.700 of having them their like figure it out and their innocence going yeah oh it's okay for me to use

00:46:21.200 that word or it's okay for me i don't like that i don't like that well and it's also if you think

00:46:25.360 about it too like because obviously that's not a practice that's exclusive to you as a drag performer 0.70

00:46:30.240 like all i'm sure drag performers for the most part do that and i think that's also a form of self

00:46:37.220 protection because you're like i'm gonna protect myself in the sense that i'm going to prioritize

00:46:42.620 numbers that don't have any sense of vulgarity that can lead to something like that because i

00:46:48.320 don't want that to fall back on me which it will like if for some reason because it happens all the

00:46:53.540 time like they'll take their children to this and they're like i can't believe there's a like they're

00:46:58.360 being sexually explicit or whatever even though they knew going in that that is a possibility right

00:47:04.180 like that might implicate you so that's like an extra layer of emotional labor that drag performers have

00:47:10.500 to be cognizant about be aware of worry about their own safety in addition to entertaining and

00:47:16.200 like being happy and fun and you know having a good time trickles down i would say a little bit but i

00:47:21.700 but i mean a lot um i you know i'm i'm 47 years old maybe i'm 48 i can't even remember if i'm 47 or 48

00:47:28.960 you look good girl thanks but i um i because i because i i maybe because i listen to true crime podcasts

00:47:38.460 all the time so that drives me crazy yeah but i don't i don't like being by myself around anyone's

00:47:46.160 children even when this sounds awful even family yeah because i don't want anyone to say the kids

00:47:53.760 saw a movie and they just got confused in their mind and they're trying to correlate something and

00:47:57.860 then i said something funny off color to another adult that was passing by and it turns into something

00:48:02.340 else i don't want i don't want any of that because i know that children are extremely impressionable

00:48:07.020 and maybe they're having something else going on in their lives they need to speak out about it or

00:48:11.200 whatever i'd rather just not be around well it's another again another layer of self-protection

00:48:16.000 yeah and it's and it's especially now too because you have to be even more aware than you already

00:48:22.740 have been for the last 20 years you've been doing drag you've always been thinking about that now you

00:48:28.220 have to add extra layers to it because people are so unpredictable and so hateful and so proudly

00:48:35.480 hateful on top of that like when i talk about how i started attacking men who are misogynistic or

00:48:41.660 whatever um a lot of times i say like what i couldn't believe the most was how proud they were to

00:48:48.260 platform such hateful views on a public space like like where everyone can see them they can see their

00:48:54.940 face their government name it blows my mind it blows i couldn't understand i was like i can't believe

00:49:00.460 like i know people are hateful i know people are bigots i understand that like people rancid people

00:49:04.740 like that exist but to see them like laughing and kiki about it like finding camaraderie and being

00:49:11.700 bigoted is insane to me i couldn't i couldn't even begin to understand yeah i don't get it i don't

00:49:17.980 get it either i mean this is so many things i feel like in our society that are everything is built on

00:49:24.060 the opinion of uh a straight man that's that's a straight white man too yeah specifically uh you know

00:49:31.140 when we were talking earlier uh off the top about hair and i know a lot of women um in my family 1.00

00:49:38.820 the that that hold the opinion and i'll hear them having conversations like that lady's too old to be 1.00

00:49:45.820 having her hair like that she should cut her hair um you're you need to be blonde you need to be you 0.98

00:49:51.060 need to be this way you need and i'm like what who said how old hair was they were told how old hair

00:49:56.160 was yeah they were told and now that they're in their 70s some in their 80s in their mind

00:50:02.160 that's inappropriate yeah you shouldn't do that and it's sad because i'm like

00:50:06.720 i don't like when people say well this is how i was raised when people say that it says to me

00:50:12.260 that you're already acknowledging that you are raised and you now have a chance to change that

00:50:17.220 opinion and that what you think is harmful in some way right but but you're not willing to change it 0.98

00:50:23.140 they're still around the the men that they knew that enforced that opinion it's fucked up yeah it's 0.98

00:50:30.080 crazy you want to talk about indoctrination like that's indoctrination that's the word i was looking 0.94

00:50:34.460 for thank you for that yeah it's and it's also um well it's like it's a it's a very like insidious 0.61

00:50:41.120 tactic to um turn us against each other too especially against like cis straight white men because they 0.65

00:50:48.920 understand the power that we have in numbers as marginalized people right and god forbid we find 1.00

00:50:54.320 that power who knows what will happen to them which is why they spend their free time balding and then

00:51:00.160 attacking drag performers like they they split up their time between those two things right and some uh 0.94

00:51:06.040 some of these other comments on here like this one says i'm not afraid and i'll explain when the child

00:51:11.940 is old enough to understand it's not your place to discuss sexuality with a child that's not yours

00:51:16.840 okay so my thing about this too is like there's this obviously very vitriolic in its nature but also

00:51:25.580 um incorrect misconception about drag performers that because you know conservative alt-right people

00:51:33.100 sexualize drag performers or trans people right they automatically assume like that they are inherently 0.98

00:51:42.360 sexual beings and they will discuss sex in front of your minor children which makes no fucking sense 0.96

00:51:50.780 and it's not it's it's unfounded on top of that right but i i think like that's the biggest form of 0.90

00:51:57.880 projection like you you're sexualizing them they're not sexualizing themselves they're not sexualizing

00:52:03.560 anyone else you are sexualizing them and that's a you problem babe hundred percent i mean we you know 1.00

00:52:10.800 the the examples are right in front of us a beauty pageant for children yeah um or uh or minors on

00:52:18.640 tiktok like minors on tiktok or is that your little girlfriend yeah or like uh i've even seen like t-shirts

00:52:25.340 with innuendos as like i'm big daddy or i'm you know or mommy stud like come on like first of all

00:52:34.140 why do you want your kids to grow up so fast i know i mean i i i have no children i i i think i would

00:52:40.260 probably be way overprotective i probably wouldn't be a good parent i think i'm a protective person i think

00:52:45.480 i i'm uh ethical but at the same time you know parents have a a hard they have a hard time with

00:52:53.620 especially now i feel like but nobody's trying to indoctrinate your children i don't want you i

00:52:59.740 want your kids to be a doctor a lawyer a makeup artist uh i want them to be whatever they want

00:53:04.960 to be yeah i'm not asking them to like be a prostitute i'm not asking them to like or to be

00:53:09.860 a drag and if and if that's who they are hey you know what i'm money's money but yeah i'm not i'm not 0.85

00:53:15.260 talking to nobody under 18 yeah actually i don't really talk to people under 25 you would honestly

00:53:20.320 you would be shocked like the audience would be shocked and by that i mean like conservative 0.97

00:53:25.540 people would be shocked to know and they're not watching me what the fuck um how many drag performers 1.00

00:53:31.180 actually don't like kids they don't want them there yeah they they feel like almost stifled a 0.96

00:53:36.460 little bit if they it is because you have to like rearrange stuff or or be mindful of stuff like

00:53:42.400 you were just discussing but a lot of drag performers like don't care to entertain children like 1.00

00:53:48.220 right i when they do that a lot of times that's just charity it's not yeah not like a it's not

00:53:53.440 like a performance it's not gonna you know what i mean yeah i was talking to my friend tofer about

00:53:57.420 that um when we were writing over about the idea of like story times in general and i think it's

00:54:03.180 necessary and i think it's wonderful but i also think there's certain entertainers that are carved

00:54:07.480 out for that yeah and they um and it's and it's good you know uh pride month people say why do you

00:54:13.900 have to shove it down our throats why do we why do we want to see it why can't you just do what you 0.63

00:54:18.000 do so basically what that says to me is i enjoyed it when i didn't have to acknowledge that you existed

00:54:24.540 yeah but once i had to acknowledge that you existed and they're like well we're straight pride

00:54:28.680 how come we don't have that well tell me how many countries that you live that you live in or you

00:54:33.120 know where people live where they could die because of this being straight doing it because

00:54:37.040 i need to celebrate it i'm doing it because i want people out there kids out there somebody in a small

00:54:42.460 town to know you are seen it is visible i don't need another reason to party i get free drinks every

00:54:48.960 single night i don't go to pride because i don't want to sweat also do you know how many how many drag 0.92

00:54:55.640 artists are exhausted by the end of every pride month they are working girl i'm good

00:55:02.880 i am so good like if i gotta and i and well listen like don't don't take that wrong if you

00:55:09.220 want to book me i'm fully available at workdelta gmail.com but period what i mean is um man nobody's

00:55:18.760 trying to screw anybody over no and this the whole straight pride thing i'm like you're cool with any

00:55:25.220 other day of the year because that's for you guys that's every day that's for you you can always it's

00:55:30.160 like that that's saying when they're like uh when you're marginalized in any capacity you're never 1.00

00:55:36.280 truly alone because there's always a cis straight white person in your fucking business like you're 0.98

00:55:44.100 never alone never really you're right you always are always in your business at all points of the time 0.99

00:55:51.740 of the day you are right and it's sad and that's a sad life to live i cannot imagine i got too many

00:55:59.220 things going on yeah to like worry about like oh my gosh what's drag gonna be in the next couple months

00:56:06.420 like what if drag keep what if drag before us keep reading to kids what am i gonna do girl i don't give 0.90

00:56:11.920 a fuck i'm so good i'm so so good i i encourage i want if it were up to me there would be an option 0.94

00:56:20.980 for drag performance at any eating establishment or any establishment that i patron personally yeah 0.99

00:56:26.900 that's my wish i'm into it but i'm not the president so what do i know i love your eyebrows

00:56:31.780 they're so pretty laminated girl what do you mean they're laminated how does that go oh that's like

00:56:38.520 a perm for your eyebrows they basically go and they put this like i don't know the technical term

00:56:44.200 but it's like they put something on your eyebrows that like lays all the hairs flat so they look nice

00:56:48.680 and bushy thanks i just wore my natural eyebrows today yeah oh yeah all my hair i have no makeup on

00:56:55.640 at all just woke up none i knew that you were just do you uh normally heat up the spoon and roll it on

00:57:01.360 your lashes to peel them out i just honestly when i wake up i open my eyes and the birds open the

00:57:06.900 windows and they turn on the lights and then they pull me out of bed and i'm in a nightgown naturally

00:57:11.640 uh-huh i'm so with the lace up here yeah and yeah i'm contoured to the gods i'm beat down but i woke

00:57:18.780 up that way uh-huh and then yeah the mice wash my body and dress me i think there was a movie about

00:57:25.040 me once if you ever want to wear blush but you don't want to use like cosmetics because that's

00:57:29.840 that's the devil yeah um you just pinch your cheeks oh yeah it brings the blood up that's what i do

00:57:35.000 i think i'm too i think my face is too dark for that really i'll try maybe in my winter months

00:57:40.620 maybe you don't have any blood well we did say earlier i'm a vampire so that could be why

00:57:46.380 yeah i do burn when i walk in the sunlight so maybe that's what that is yeah that's exactly

00:57:50.540 what it is i don't know i didn't really think to ask my doctor last time i saw him

00:57:54.700 okay so as we come to the end of this um what would you say what would you say to someone who's

00:58:04.020 maybe maybe in a small town and like feels like with all of this like looming doom above the lgbtqia 0.98

00:58:12.580 plus community as a whole like what what's your best piece of advice for like something for them to

00:58:18.380 like hang on to something to remind themselves of and like you know why you know it's so important

00:58:25.560 that they're here so like what what would you want to say trouble like this doesn't last for long it

00:58:30.600 doesn't this is this is not new this is just uh in a new literally type of drag yeah you know um when i

00:58:38.380 was coming up uh i can remember uh in in like definitely in the 80s but for me i could vision i could

00:58:45.420 see it in my eye line in my beeline in the 90s when everyone was so afraid of aids what is aids what

00:58:52.880 is to stay away from those people and there was tv shows that would talk about it and there was just

00:58:57.700 it wouldn't exist and then when magic johnson came on to like the scene about it it was like oh it's

00:59:02.760 okay now like it's okay you're you'll be fine and then um then no then it seems like everybody for

00:59:10.560 a couple of decades everybody was loving drag oh drag is fun drag is silly drag is light and then

00:59:17.840 as things started to change again politically like it'll it'll go away they always find another

00:59:24.260 target they'll find something else and if you're somewhere and you see it and and you're you know in

00:59:29.640 a place where it's just you because that's that i think that's a lot of people where it's just them

00:59:34.360 yeah uh you have to have your faculties about you you know what i mean you have to know um when to

00:59:41.800 hold and when to fold and what i mean by that is there are just certain places like i i grew up and

00:59:47.640 i still do code switch sometimes you know what i mean i'll be at a place where i know that like you 0.97

00:59:52.320 can't be talking like that and i hate to say it i fucking hate to say it because it's disgusting 0.99

00:59:57.140 yeah but to survive is the number one thing because you have to survive before you can thrive 0.93

01:00:03.680 and i'm saying i know you want to speak out and you want to be loud and proud and i need you to be

01:00:09.160 able to do that but in order to do it you can't do it in every situation because sometimes there's

01:00:15.560 somebody looking at you because i see it pride you know you'll see these kids running around with flags

01:00:20.120 and they're so excited they're good in the confines of those fences yeah then they got to get on a bus and

01:00:25.640 ride home and they roll up that flag and they tuck it in their pocket because someone's going to say

01:00:29.720 something to them yeah and they're going to get a little tired from being at the festival and they're

01:00:34.100 going to fall asleep and someone's going to take advantage and it happens all the time and it's 0.95

01:00:38.540 horrible fucking gross yeah because that takes nothing from you no just to leave somebody alone 0.90

01:00:43.940 yeah absolutely and i too i also want to say that people like you are so important like how visible 0.99

01:00:52.300 you are and how proud you are but also how public you are like for decades long now you've been in

01:00:59.060 the industry for so long but people like you and everyone else within the community is so important

01:01:06.340 like that's why i'm so happy to lend my platform to all drag performers of any kind but also the world

01:01:13.640 that you do i'm so happy to do it because i feel like well first of all y'all inspire me like

01:01:19.240 and you make me want to be a better person you make me you make me feel brave and courageous

01:01:24.040 especially in times like now so i'm really thankful for performers like yourself and everyone else within

01:01:29.900 the community because i feel like it's just a different kind of light and warmth that you get

01:01:34.580 and i'm happy to be to bear witness firsthand but i'm happy to be an ally in whatever way i can so

01:01:42.420 i'm so thankful for people like you i'm so thankful for drag it is just one of the greatest art forms i've

01:01:48.720 ever known so i feel like i i love that i i feels great to hear but i i feel like i take inspiration

01:01:55.420 in what i do from so many different types of women yeah because you know i read this sign up here that 1.00

01:02:00.960 is so true women don't owe you shit but women have given us so much it's from whence we come yeah and so 1.00

01:02:09.320 um to not champion to not uh um you know be in the very front of that chariot yeah you know what i mean 0.96

01:02:18.720 and say protect yeah encourage support respect allow like i allow isn't even a term to me for that

01:02:28.000 allow what like that's that's already going back into that uh sort of brainwashing you're talking about

01:02:33.320 yeah and it really is you know i was um i found myself uh talking to uh some some women the other

01:02:40.220 day in a podcast and i i was talking over and over and over and i said is it still mansplaining if i'm

01:02:46.680 in drag because i felt like they fucking know what you're saying yeah let it go they got it and i don't 0.95

01:02:53.140 mean to like go over and over and over but it but it's true for me who i don't feel like i've built a 0.87

01:02:58.280 character i feel like i am there is part of me that is very dual you know what i mean absolutely

01:03:04.460 and and i and i think that you know am i comfortable am i more comfortable in this than something else

01:03:09.520 no i love to be in my cargo shorts and my t-shirt that has a massive hole in it and mustard stains

01:03:15.100 because that's who i am but i'm also this yeah do i want to be in this all day absolutely not but

01:03:21.900 you don't want to be in boots all day either that's strictly comfort yeah yeah but i but i like i like

01:03:26.620 presenting it and i definitely know that every woman i meet has some story and some inspiration

01:03:33.300 to me i mean unless you're really gross and like right wing and like pick me yeah yeah and kiss my 0.94

01:03:39.680 ass yeah right same same yeah well thank you so much for thank you this has been so much fun you are 0.99

01:04:02.400 and you're like sometimes you're like fully done up and sometimes you're like just talking like like

01:04:07.400 in the moment and like i love all of that i love that you present god i'm so tired of people thinking

01:04:12.260 like you have to present a certain way yeah like if you don't have your makeup on or you don't have

01:04:16.860 that go i'm a big fuggo on the internet and i'm proud of that that's why when i meet them in real

01:04:21.560 life when i meet people in real life they're like oh my god you're so much prettier in person

01:04:24.260 hey that's mean hey that's rude thank you so much for the support do people say that all the

01:04:51.540 thank you so i i try to i take inspiration from what you do when with your comments in the sense

01:04:56.700 that sometimes and i don't do it all the time but sometimes i'll pull one and i'll put it in my

01:05:02.100 story and i'll tag the person oh period and i'll let everybody know this is what this person said to

01:05:07.300 me not be and i'm not offend like it doesn't hurt my feelings it hurts my sensibilities why did you do

01:05:11.820 that what was the reason for that i don't get what you wanted yeah like why would you think that one

01:05:17.020 one person said uh this person should be called delta no work because i've been to her show before

01:05:22.580 she doesn't lip sync she doesn't dance she just gets money for being hair boobs and teeth and i was 0.99

01:05:28.780 like okay that sounds like work yeah girl but i was like i don't even give you a lip sync and i said

01:05:34.120 this guy's not altogether lying i don't dance but i think i give you a high quality romance

01:05:39.420 something it's it's the fantasy and then he's tried to i said baby i see the bubbles coming up 0.99

01:05:45.860 and down just stop it i see you typing and editing yourself fuck off yeah girl i tell people when 0.99

01:06:04.320 better already you know what i mean look at these pictures and then i look at my man and then i look at

01:06:08.760 my life and how awesome and amazing it is and i'm like oh i didn't even look over here

01:06:12.720 look at that one i know he's so handsome it's disrespectful i think is this a wrap dress or a

01:06:20.280 towel it's a wrap dress that's cute girl the way that like it's so like bad for my brand that i'm like

01:06:29.460 so in love with a man so bad for my brand it's not it's actually perfect i think it suits me well
