00:00:00.000thank you for that I gotta say what a beautiful sunny afternoon in Edmonton Alberta
00:00:08.160I want to say what an honor it is to be here and I want to thank everybody who shared with
00:00:16.440me all of their well wishes today it's all of you and the energy that you bring to this movement is
00:00:22.200what keeps keeps all of us going so thank you very much this is your movement thank you for being here
00:00:28.200today. Now, today I'm here to talk about why it is that so many of us are involved in the
00:00:38.120Alberta independence movement, and that is for Alberta to get itself outside of the federal
00:00:44.680constitution of Canada and develop its own constitution and live in our own way under
00:00:51.400our own law in the province of Alberta.
00:00:55.720Now, as some of you may know, I'm actually quite honoured to be sharing the podium today
00:01:01.040with Sean Buckley and actually my good friend Leighton Gray.
00:01:04.800Leighton and I actually have the distinction of being the only two lawyers in Canada involved0.93
00:01:11.220in a court case that managed to set aside every stupid COVID order issued by their provincial0.94
00:01:19.060government during the COVID, the fake COVID pandemic. I want to acknowledge Layton and0.95
00:01:26.800thank him for his hard work on that case with me. You know, the very fact that we were able to show
00:01:31.840that every dumb order that Jason Kenney issued, including telling us how many friends we could
00:01:38.240have, you know, shutting down our high schools while letting our 18-year-old kids continue to0.94
00:01:43.580to the casinos and the bars and the strip clubs every dumb thing that jason kenney did that we0.99
00:01:50.940proved was illegal directly led to that moron being fired as the premier of alberta0.99
00:02:04.060so jason you want to call me names that one's for you0.88
00:02:06.780now one of the reasons that i'm so interested in having a new constitution in alberta
00:02:15.600really stems from all the work that layton and i did during the covid uh you know during that
00:02:21.320covid case we were doing one of the things that became really apparent and we were actually
00:02:26.760communicating with and sharing information with the last signatory to the canadian constitution
00:02:33.620in 1982 Brian Peckford and one of the things that became quite clear is that section one of the
00:02:41.240charter of rights the so-called charter of rights and freedoms was being interpreted in a way by our
00:02:48.040judges as actually diminishing our rights and enabling the judiciary to actually destroy and
00:02:55.000take away our rights in the context of all of those COVID cases that's why not a single COVID
00:03:01.540case based on a charter right succeeded anywhere in canada because section one contains a provision
00:03:10.260that says you know such uh you know such laws that are reasonable in a free and democratic society
00:03:17.700and our judges would interpret the word reasonable as basically allowing governments
00:03:23.060to do whatever they want to do to us whenever they want to do it and what i say and i'm sure
00:03:30.020sure what Clayton and Sean agree with is that Alberta needs a constitution where human rights
00:03:37.720and our rights are absolute and governments cannot trench on our rights by having judges
00:03:45.020interpret whether the exercise of our rights is reasonable or not reasonable.
00:03:50.800our rights our human rights are our rights they are to be absolute in a free and independent
00:03:59.960alberta now the next thing that i want to talk about is you know in part the canadian federal
00:04:07.240constitution and this is why it is that albertans need to leave canada right as some of you may be
00:04:15.720aware, and those of us certainly that have read constitutional law and have read cases
00:04:20.000and articles on Canadian constitutional law, the Canadian Constitution is virtually unamendable
00:04:28.620because of the amending formula, right? The only way to amend the Canadian Constitution
00:04:35.760is for a Canadian province to vote itself the hell out of Canada.
00:04:45.720Now, think about the constitutional arrangement we currently live in, right?
00:04:53.640The Maritimes have less than two and a half million people.
00:04:58.640That's all four provinces in the Maritimes, Newfoundland, PEI, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick,
00:05:06.140have less than two and a half million people.
00:05:09.240They have less than half the population of Alberta, yet they have 37 members of parliament to our 35, right?
00:05:22.780So every Alberta welfare-collecting Maritimer effectively has twice the votes of everybody here, right?
00:05:33.260So what do you think happens when the subject of equalization is brought up?
00:05:38.480Or, you know, when discussions in and around inequities within the Canadian federal system are raised in Parliament.
00:05:47.000We are outvoted two to one by welfare collectors in the Maritimes that thrive on the backs of hardworking Albertans collecting welfare from us as they've done for decades.
00:06:01.960You know, let's not forget about Quebec.
00:06:03.780Quebec effectively has its finance department every year go through the exercise of making sure that Quebec stays as a have-not province, right?
00:06:17.140So the other day, I don't know if any of you caught it, Daniel Smith forgot to thank President Trump for the Iran war
00:06:23.340and forgot to thank him for the $90 oil we've had this year
00:06:27.360and eliminating the Alberta deficit because of the fact that we've had high oil prices all year, right?
00:06:33.780so she's bragging about a two billion dollar surplus which was previously to be a nine
00:06:40.140billion dollar deficit so in effect we were going to borrow money so that we could give money to
00:06:47.180quebec the maritimes ontario right we were going to borrow money to pay for our nurses our doctors
00:06:54.400our teachers our hospitals our roads we were going to borrow money so that we could give money to our
00:07:01.400near-do-well cousins down east who refuse to develop their own gas fields right oh no no we
00:07:08.820can't develop natural gas in quebec we have 17 trillion cubic feet of it no no no because oil
00:07:16.400and gas is bad except when it's developed in alberta and we can take all their money right
00:07:21.960same same with nova scotia new brunswick massive gas fields in those provinces that they have never
00:07:28.280develop for whatever reason well they continue to collect welfare from alberta right so what i say
00:07:35.800and what everybody needs to internalize is that alberta voting itself out of canada will be doing
00:07:44.120those regions a favor right we'll be teaching them that they need to develop their own natural
00:07:50.440resources we'll send engineers from alberta to come back in the maritimes and we'll teach them
00:07:56.600how to develop gas fields we'll teach them how to develop their own natural gas fields0.99
00:08:02.360and to get their damned hands out of our collective pockets
00:08:12.920the other thing that i want people to focus on when you talk about the inequities of0.98
00:08:17.240canadian federalism and let's not forget albertans we had a referendum we voted 62
00:08:23.080percent to end equalization right what is what did jason kenny do about that nothing
00:08:31.400what what does daniel smith do about that nothing you know she's still she's on team canada she's
00:08:38.840been groveling and pandering to carney for the last year entered into an mou with him that saw
00:08:45.880a 600% increase in the industrial carbon tax being paid in the province of Alberta, cheering,
00:08:54.580you know, oh, we need to remain in Canada. For what? Right? You know, I've been challenging
00:09:00.800Danielle Smith for over a year to give us one reason why Albertans will be better off
00:09:06.740if we were to vote to remain in Canada. She hasn't provided a single reason other than one.
00:09:14.740The one thing she said was, well, if we remain in Canada, it'll be easier to get a pipeline, right?
00:09:23.100Wow, how's that working, Danny, right?
00:09:26.740And what have we seen this week, right?
00:09:29.560Mark Carney is in trade negotiations with the United States of America,1.00
00:09:35.160doing everything he can to kill the Alberta economy with his stupid insults,1.00
00:09:40.760you know his ongoing vilification of president trump all of the idiotic things that he's been1.00
00:09:46.280doing in the last year announcing you know the new world order a strategic alliance with communist0.99
00:09:53.400china you know entering into get this entering into a secret agreement with the chinese secret
00:10:03.720police over how the rcmp and the ministry of state security are going to cooperate on security but we
00:10:11.720can't know about it or what's in the agreement because oh that's secret so i guess now we live
00:10:17.400in a country where we don't have chinese secret police stations anymore because we can call them
00:10:23.160rcmp detachments right this is all what's been happening in the last year while danielle smith
00:10:31.320has been on team canada groveling to mark carney right so just last week and actually i was talking
00:10:39.000to ctv before uh before the rally today and they said well what what are you going to focus on for
00:10:44.600the next you know 51 days to get ready for independence and what's your big message um to
00:10:50.760sell independence to albertans and i said you know the best thing for us is the biggest salesperson
00:10:57.720for independence right now in canada is mark carney right this last week president trump
00:11:06.840was talking to mark carney and said yeah i'm really excited to get the keystone xl pipeline
00:11:12.120going we got that permitted at my side what does mark carney say oh no no you know i don't know if
00:11:19.160i can permit that unless you make further concessions at the trade table right so that
00:11:25.880that was in the news this week. So what does that tell us? That tells us that the captain of Team
00:11:32.680Canada, the person that Smith has been slavishly groveling to for the last year, has basically
00:11:41.540said that he holds a veto over the Alberta economy. He holds a veto over Alberta oil and gas
00:11:49.420exports to the United States and he's not going to permit that and will
00:11:55.840continue to exercise his veto over the export of Alberta oil and gas if he
00:12:01.400doesn't get the kinds of concessions that he wants for Quebec and Ontario
00:12:06.220well he screws Alberta right this is the country we currently live in this is
00:12:13.720mark carney who god bless him is the number one salesman for alberta independence
00:12:23.240you know this is what we are dealing with on a going forward basis i mean let's forget about
00:12:28.520the fact and again you know we have an alberta a constitution you know we're going to have actual
00:12:34.520checks and balances in this province we're going to get rid of the westminster parliamentary system
00:12:40.760right as we all know the western the westminster parliamentary system is effectively designed so
00:12:49.700that the elites can control the population while we have little or no say through our elected
00:12:56.080representatives because whether it's in ottawa or whether it's in this building right behind me
00:13:01.580the caucus of the legislature of the governing party are nothing more than a bunch of trained
00:13:07.580seals who you know basically sit there doing whatever it is the dear leader tells them
00:13:14.300you know it looks more like you know it looks more like the duma in the so in what used to be
00:13:19.880the soviet union or russia or you know as or some other corrupt system than it does any form of
00:13:26.380parliamentary democracy how many people here think that their individual mlas or individual members
00:13:32.980of parliament actually speak for you or represent your interests. Right? None. Not one of them.
00:13:42.080We are basically, you know, led around by the nose by whatever leader happens to rise to the top
00:13:47.860as if we lived in North Korea. And I, for one, I'm sick and tired of being governed that way.
00:13:56.360The new Alberta constitution, and we will have a constitutional convention where all of us are
00:14:02.180to be able to participate and have a say but the model we are working with you know i met you know
00:14:08.660is based largely on the swiss swiss system of representative referenda and the u.s system of
00:14:15.300checks and balances we'll have a legislature we'll have a senate based on the regions of the province
00:14:21.860so the cities don't over overwhelm everybody in the in rural alberta right we will not have the
00:14:30.500attorney general and auditor general being subject to the cabinet or members
00:14:35.660of the cabinet the attorney general and the auditor general will be separately
00:14:40.100elected positions and their primary task will be making sure that corrupt
00:14:45.680politicians are put in jail when they need to be this is why I'm voting and
00:14:56.720why I am working so hard for a free and independent Alberta and why it is on October 19th, you know,
00:15:04.160I will be voting, you know, for, you know, unfortunately for option two. Because of course,
00:15:08.960we were lied to by Premier Smith. We were told if we got enough signatures on our petition,
00:15:14.960that our question was going to be on the ballot. Right? No, what do we get? We get some phony
00:15:21.300question to have a question and then what did we find out this week we found out this week
00:15:27.820that danielle is not going to let us have a vote even if we win so she's being and i've said i said0.98
00:15:35.560this oh you know when she announced her phony question that there was no way in hell that
00:15:40.840danielle smith was going to allow us to have a vote you know on a you know to offer a free and1.00
00:15:46.860independent Alberta, even if we won, because she would use the excuse that, oh, well, we can't have1.00
00:15:53.220a binding referendum in an election year because it's prohibited by the Citizens Initiative Act.
00:15:58.800Well, that's a lie. She was told by two courts that she has the authority to call our question
00:16:06.160any time under Section 1 of the Referendum Act. I know that to be true. I was involved in litigating1.00
00:16:13.800both of those cases. So when Danielle comes up and makes excuses and says, oh no, we can't do this
00:16:20.720because of that, she is again lying to everybody in this province. Even Keith Wilson, is Keith here
00:16:28.800today? No, I don't see him. Okay. So even Keith Wilson came out today on Acts, right, and said
00:16:35.820that that's bullshit. Of course, Keith wouldn't use that word, but you know, he said, oh well,0.97
00:16:41.200there's no reason not to have a referendum in 2027 but you know there you go that's probably
00:16:46.540as harsh as keith will ever criticize danielle but you know that's what we're dealing with right
00:16:52.440danielle she's the boss of us keep in mind what i was saying about the westminster parliamentary
00:16:57.440system right she's our dear leader and she has decided that we children should not be allowed
00:17:05.600to have a binding vote in 2027 even if we win on october 19th right think about that right
00:17:16.240as long as premier smith is premier of alberta alberta will never be free internalize that
00:17:23.840everybody needs to internalize the fact that they need to join the ucp they need to buy memberships
00:17:29.360and they need to get involved in voting her out of office as leader of the UCP sooner rather than
00:17:36.160later. You know, because this is what we're dealing with. We're being lied to. We're told
00:17:42.220we can't have a vote in 2027. The only silver lining in that, and I want to share this with
00:17:47.780everybody, and this is why it is important to turn out and vote on October 19th. If Premier
00:17:54.300Smith is denying us a binding vote in 2027, they know they're going to lose on October 19th.
00:18:03.540They know that Albertans are fed up. They know we want to send a message to Ottawa.
00:18:09.500You know, and I guess now she's made it that much easier because vote for option two on October 19th,
00:18:15.200it won't even trigger a referendum because little mummy Danielle says we can't have one because1.00
00:18:21.080we've been bad kids. I mean, think about that. This is why we need a new constitution in Alberta.
00:18:28.080This is why we need to be free and independent from this corrupt system that we're currently
00:18:33.020operating under and why I, for one, have been standing up and fighting so hard for Alberta
00:18:38.980independence and to have Alberta become a free and independent country. Thank you all very much.
00:18:44.180God bless all of you for coming out today. God bless Alberta.
