00:01:03.920 that's right ladies and gentlemen welcome to episode 277 of the crusty canuck podcast on the

00:01:33.160 welcome to the podcast my apologies for my uh absence there on sunday i know i said i have an

00:01:40.480 episode on sunday but the past couple days i have been fighting this really weird virus

00:01:44.180 my sinuses are aching my head's throbbing uh i didn't puke thankfully thankfully which is good

00:01:50.500 but i've just been feeling under the weather so maybe it's because it's springtime allergies are

00:01:54.860 working over time i am 50 years old so you know a little bit older a little bit wiser and more broke

00:02:00.900 uh yeah anyway that's a different story i might gain sympathy here ladies and gentlemen but if you

00:02:05.040 like and hear what you see please click like subscribe share this podcast all over your social media

00:02:09.280 platforms too if you can just think about us veterans and us canucks who are trying to get our

00:02:13.580 words out there before the federal government of infinite wisdom and wokeness tries to censor us

00:02:19.220 anyway coming with today's uh episode more bloody deflection so basically just off the top of my

00:02:24.060 head i got a couple articles here i'll show you uh share with you ladies and gentlemen in timing

00:02:27.920 manner but all i see in the news today is all about drake and his feud and i guess a security

00:02:33.720 guard of his got shot in toronto there today so i'm not belittling anybody who gets shot i've been

00:02:39.840 shot at i know what it feels like i know the fear uh little surprises come and go uh but i do feel

00:02:45.040 bad hope that guy has a speedy recovery however it makes you think what are some of these artists

00:02:51.200 doing on the side that would influence somebody to go to your place of residence or one of your

00:02:58.220 residents to take shots at your staff or to take a shot at you for any reason at all right now i

00:03:06.200 remember back in the 90s where they would emulate the image of gangster rap and street street thugs and 0.95

00:03:12.340 all this shit and i'm not a big fan of rap i don't mind um good old fashion how do you say 0.90

00:03:18.800 right from the heart rap like public enemy some of the stuff they did uh some of the crude stuff that 0.99

00:03:24.440 two live crew used to do back in the 90s right i i remember that because it was just in your face

00:03:29.780 you know and it wasn't just gangster it was just guys who grew up hard and just wanted to have fun 0.96

00:03:34.020 so that authenticity that i find with a lot of modern music today is fucking gone you know 0.92

00:03:41.020 everybody talks about taylor swift as she's some great genius well i'd say she is a talented 0.91

00:03:45.640 individual but now regardless of how much money she has or who she dates because most of her song

00:03:51.380 catalog is based on how many guys have broken her heart you would think you would learn something

00:03:56.080 out of all the heartbreaks and you'd learn and learn and learn but now let's just use that as the 0.98

00:04:01.120 thesis for every fucking song this woman sings and katie perry did the same thing lady gaga has 1.00

00:04:07.260 done the same thing you know regardless of how you approach these artists or not they're no different 0.99

00:04:12.320 than what madonna was doing what tina turner was doing but tina turner was her own class act as far 0.99

00:04:17.280 as i'm concerned tina turner was a goddamn diva because she paid her dues i'm not just talking 0.84

00:04:23.140 through music and through being uh last in the pecking order of things how she was raised how she was 0.98

00:04:28.580 treated by her ex how she was treated by people and how she overcame that and create a great legacy

00:04:34.860 i would like to see artists like that too there's friends in my life okay that have written songs 0.97

00:04:41.740 play some wonderful guitar and play trumpets and play piano and drums fucking xylophones for god's sakes

00:04:49.580 and you look at some of these individuals why aren't they getting ahead with certain music 0.98

00:04:53.640 why aren't they getting ahead they're not getting ahead because they're not part of the click or

00:05:00.320 they're not part of the group or not part of the narrative they're not going to sell their souls

00:05:04.380 for lack of a better term to get ahead their integrity is far too important but gone are the

00:05:10.860 days where you know you can still buy cds you can still buy cassettes some artists still put them out

00:05:15.800 for the sake of nostalgia you can still buy vinyl um but you're not seeing

00:05:20.660 the genuine excitement of seeing an artist now maybe it's because of the age gap

00:05:25.820 right but in the same sense i remember going to shows whether it be dive bars or actual venues and

00:05:32.240 seeing a great band kick ass and take names because not only was their bread and butter it's because

00:05:37.180 their integrity and what they believe what they're doing am i saying uh drake and kendrick lamar

00:05:42.080 don't believe what they're doing well i really don't care because that's not my forte i'm not big into rap

00:05:47.140 per se just what i above mentioned i can appreciate certain groups like public enemy

00:05:51.660 right into life crew because they stuck by their morals and they stuck by their morals and their

00:05:56.380 scruples and they did their thing you know pardon my blackouts here i've been having some sneezing

00:06:01.540 fits the past uh past day and a half too like i said my allergies are kicking in so it's got to be

00:06:06.680 something with the weather however when i look at all this hype that's going on about drake and

00:06:12.040 kendrick and all these terrible things that are happening to the world it's a basic deflection just

00:06:17.580 like the title card says ladies and gentlemen the title card says itself you know more bloody

00:06:21.780 deflections right and that's what it is do i care do i want anything bad to happen to those artists

00:06:27.340 not entirely i don't wish any kind of pain or death on them but they're not as genuine as let's say

00:06:32.040 what ice t was or l o cool j was back in the day there's no real genuine feel to this they just 0.94

00:06:39.060 sing whatever grab their balls blah blah blah and they're super rich okay because they make lots of

00:06:44.900 money and they've committed something and that's fine and let's keep worrying about these feuds i 0.97

00:06:48.900 remember a couple years ago there was a feud with freaking uh what there was i think a feud with taylor

00:06:53.600 swift and katie perry like who cares who cares if you have trouble sleeping at night worrying about

00:07:00.260 the plight of drake or the plight of mr lamar the plight of taylor swift the plight of katie perry

00:07:05.480 i think you have problems that are bigger than and you can handle and uh you should really talk

00:07:11.360 to somebody about that stay updated and follow crusty canuck on facebook twitter gap telegram

00:07:18.940 youtube and podbean subscribe today and donate at crusty canuck.ca

00:07:24.440 that's right ladies and gentlemen you're back to episode 277 of crusty canuck podcast

00:07:31.140 more bloody deflections that's right i'm your host crusty canuck once again i apologize

00:07:35.180 for being absent the past couple days i have been just wow my sinuses are just working overtime

00:07:40.360 so i've got pseudofed i got all these wonderful little drugs i can take to make me sleep better

00:07:45.600 at night make me feel good but uh needless to say it's just these allergies take me for a wallop

00:07:50.500 wow so anyhow i'm not going to dwell on this here's an article from forbes i tried to find some canadian

00:07:59.440 articles there too there was something on the ctv about this and still like all day it's just just

00:08:08.180 garbage after garbage after garbage so i'll leave this link in my description for you ladies and 1.00

00:08:12.640 gentlemen if you decide if you want to you don't have to read it but you know just to see what i'm 0.60

00:08:17.080 talking about keep my points up and everything you know just to keep it secure and keep it real

00:08:23.480 right so uh this is from the forbes magazine i'll just uh display it here for you ladies and

00:08:30.180 gentlemen yeah here we go they got a whole timeline about his feud i'm not gonna go through the whole

00:08:35.220 timeline i'm just gonna talk about what happened on say on the 6th and the 7th needs to say i remember

00:08:39.720 drake on the degrassi next generation that's where he got uh his cred i guess you could say

00:08:45.460 excuse me that's where he got a street cred you know and uh he's also a guy that comes from very

00:08:52.800 very so-called humble beginnings but he's never had to really be or fight for anything other than

00:08:58.620 you know here's stardom enjoy it right so apparently uh shots were fired inside drake's toronto home

00:09:04.780 early tuesday uh days after kendrick lamar used an image of the house as cover art for his song not

00:09:10.100 like us as a long-running beef between the pair have has been heating up over the last month with

00:09:15.260 diss tracks alleging an infinity for underage women secret children and infidelity i wonder if

00:09:21.300 there's any connection to the whole diddy scandal hey who knows we'll see interesting anyway as of

00:09:30.700 today a security guard was shot outside of drake's sprawling sprawling toronto estate early tuesday

00:09:35.580 morning and what police told cbc was a drive-by shooting it's unclear if the shooting was related

00:09:40.660 to the beef between the two artists though lamar used a google maps image of his rival house to cover

00:09:46.460 of his latest diss track or if drake was home at the time neither artist has reacted publicly to

00:09:52.260 the shooting now on may 5th drake denied lamar's latest claims about his history and flat out state

00:09:59.180 i've never been with no one under age in a sunday night release called the heart part six in which

00:10:04.040 he says he and his team purposely fed his adversary false information including about a secret daughter

00:10:09.180 in hopes he'd use it in a song we plotted for a week and then we fed you the information a daughter

00:10:14.320 that's 11 years old i bet he takes it so basically they're screwing around with each other just being 0.99

00:10:20.200 dicks you know who cares you know who really gives a shit i personally don't give a shit you know i'll 0.99

00:10:25.700 leave this article in the description for you ladies and gentlemen for you decide and what you want to 0.99

00:10:28.980 do um i'm not one to always talk about celebrities but i find that every time you listen to music or you

00:10:37.420 you watch an artist you watch a movie there's always some kind of hidden agenda behind it there's always 0.85

00:10:43.120 some kind of social justice warrior aspect some kind of feud who's got a bigger dick who's got a 1.00

00:10:48.200 smaller dick who's got a wider vagina who's got a smaller vagina who the fuck cares you know shut up 1.00

00:10:54.440 and play your guitar all right shut up and play something do something contribute something to the 1.00

00:11:00.560 plight of modern music today right let me wrong there's a lot of great rock bands out there that kick 0.97

00:11:05.500 ass and take names metal is coming to resurgence uh there's some bands out there they're basically taking

00:11:10.220 the styles from the 80s hair metal bands turning it up a little bit adding a little more bass to bring

00:11:15.780 out some great rock and roll you know some old artists from the 80s are still touring you know

00:11:21.100 whether they want to make do it for the sake of money or not i just saw something with def leopard

00:11:24.920 there on the facebook feed there last night it's like oh okay they're still touring not that i really

00:11:29.600 care you know mick jagger is still fucking going at it eight years old 80 years old you know so you're 0.97

00:11:35.500 still seeing some musicians out there that have a fan base to get things done right but no we have 0.98

00:11:40.500 to listen to this garbage and worry about drake and lamar and and all the other individuals that have

00:11:45.320 a beef with somebody just write your songs get your music music out there get your words out there 0.94

00:11:51.640 and just treat your fan base people that buy your music with a little more respect rather than bringing 0.99

00:11:57.560 in your fucking drama to the spectrum you know i mean and you know i don't want to shit on a fellow 0.99

00:12:02.500 canadian especially a canadian artist but he's doing okay ladies and gentlemen a lot of these 0.99

00:12:08.540 artists are doing okay my concern is with certain fucking groups that work and work and work and work 0.99

00:12:14.440 and put all this money into making a great disc or a great lp or a great cassette or any kind of 0.99

00:12:19.500 recording for you you know the the fan of said genre and they get paid fuck all in return that's what 0.74

00:12:27.360 pisses me off i'll save that for another episode ladies and gentlemen but one more time if you like and 0.91

00:13:53.940 carrying on this episode too oh there's an agreement that has been come to us has come to us the masses

00:14:00.540 in regards to an agreement with uh hamas and the idf yes apparently they've reached a tentative deal

00:14:07.920 apparently um i saw it on ctv this morning i saw the the story but i can't seem to find it on the tube

00:14:14.620 page for some reason i guess they're too worried about drake and this poor as a security guard

00:14:19.140 getting shot but uh here is something uh uh from msn there um it's just a an article uh i will post it

00:14:28.560 for you in the description i will read uh some of it for you uh correction is from the washington post

00:14:33.800 my mistake but it's uh brought to us by microsoft so hamas agrees to tentative deal to free dozens of

00:14:40.500 hostages pending israel's approval so hamas has agreed in principle and israel is now considering

00:14:46.920 proposal for the release of at least 50 women and children uh among the 240 foreign and israeli

00:14:52.900 hostages being held by hamas in gaza according to an arab diplomat familiar with negotiations

00:14:57.440 i'll just clear this up here so you guys can read along if you like you know have a big sing

00:15:02.740 song to me i'm having a bouncing ball there if you can follow along properly uh but uh you know

00:15:06.860 what i'm saying here anyway long story short uh in exchange for the hostages israel would agree to a

00:15:13.220 three to five day pause in place quote unquote in the fighting increased humanitarian aid to gaza

00:15:18.680 and the release of unspecified number of women and children held in israeli prisons okay amid reports

00:15:25.220 the agreement on least some of components of a deal may be near u.s officials

00:15:30.160 and other interested parties spent much of wednesday awaiting word from israel

00:15:36.640 where internal discussions were said to be underway biden speaking wednesday in a news conference

00:15:42.600 after his meeting with chinese president xi jinping oh he's one of our favorites today he calls

00:15:47.760 justin potato oh my god said that he was deeply involved in negotiations over a hostage release

00:15:53.580 with israel and the government of qatar which is serving as a go-between for hamas qatar hamas

00:16:00.020 hamas qatar it sounds like a restaurant anyway i'm mildly hopeful president biden said rocky road

00:16:05.560 oh my god president biden said in response to a question he said he was not considering any u.s

00:16:10.640 military involvement in rescuing the captives instead biden said he was working on how i can

00:16:15.560 be helpful in getting the hostages released and have a period of time where there's a pause long

00:16:19.460 enough to let that happen okay so what i'll do ladies and gentlemen is i will keep this in my

00:16:24.640 description for you as you can read along a lot of it to me is just verbal diarrhea

00:16:29.760 and pandering verbal diarrhea and pandering ladies and gentlemen we're getting a lot of that all these

00:16:35.460 word salads and everything in regards to what's happening here ladies and gentlemen a lot of word

00:16:39.800 salads a lot of bs a lot of what ifs not what is now you've heard me rant on before hamas attacked

00:16:48.480 israel hamas not the palestinian people right not allies the palestinian people but hamas and we

00:16:54.960 are looking at all these campuses not just in canada or the united states but you're seeing it in britain

00:16:58.620 you're seeing in australia you're seeing a lot of it in western countries where they're being

00:17:03.560 sympathetic and they're not they're not really caring you know about the repercussions of these

00:17:08.860 protests repercussions repercussions meaning that i'm not against anyone speaking their mind i'm an

00:17:14.580 advocate for free speech free speech absolutelist right but what are you protesting it's not fair

00:17:22.280 that some powerful guys are kicking asses of some not so powerful guys but there's a lot of tiktokers 0.80

00:17:30.020 out there who saw some of the nasty footage that hamas was putting online what they were doing 0.92

00:17:34.280 there's some nasty footage out there that people have taken while they were saturated with hamas and

00:17:39.960 put it online like they were trophies of some sort like they were here to help like they're here to 0.98

00:17:45.460 do things oh look what we can do here look we're doing there oh let's kill this person let's kill that 0.80

00:17:49.560 person you know al akbar all that good stuff and there are college kids in both of our countries 1.00

00:17:55.640 canada united states that are promoting that kind of fucking behavior and for what right so to anybody 0.95

00:18:04.520 that's watching this podcast and feels they're compelled to engage me in a conversation stop blaming 0.99

00:18:11.520 jews stop blaming muslims stop blaming christians blame the ideologues that conjure these ideas and try

00:18:19.500 to bring it out in the open okay look at all the protests that have gone on the past five years in the

00:18:25.940 name of george floyd as far as i'm concerned nobody deserves to die in police custody i can understand why

00:18:31.720 that city was upset but setting it on fire and looting businesses and destroying property that's

00:18:35.880 going to make it better i can understand why people are upset when they found the apparent graves

00:18:42.460 the apparent graves because no one's allowed to dig yet when they use the ground pressure

00:18:47.800 ground penetrating radar on the old sites of residential schools

00:18:52.160 why aren't they digging finding the truth the protest over that where people got together and that's just not

00:19:00.200 the first nations that were outraged it's uh your typical white liberal karens and and carls getting

00:19:06.660 together and fighting the good fight to topple down statues why is there so many protests in toronto now

00:19:12.200 over a street name or a name of a university right it's a constant catering we have to find something to 0.95

00:19:20.820 bitch about why can't we bitch about the democracy in this country why can't we bitch and complain and 1.00

00:19:26.760 protest about how our government has treated canadian citizens oh that's right they tried that back in 0.99

00:19:33.280 february 22 look what happened okay so you have the powers that be that are sitting there saying we

00:19:42.140 believe in democracy we believe in freedom of speech we believe in all these wonderful things

00:19:46.100 but we have to agree with it first okay how about the people that were willing to lay their lives

00:19:54.820 down for this country and to all surviving world war ii vets and surviving korea vets and to some of

00:20:01.220 the brethren i've had the honor of talking to the past six months who served in vietnam 0.99

00:20:05.880 from canada picked up and joined the american services and kicks and commie fucking ass 0.99

00:20:13.660 what do you think we're gonna say to you now it doesn't matter if these vets are 100 now or in 0.99

00:20:20.760 their 70s now or 40s or 50s there's a lot of anger in canada right now and to my american friends

00:20:28.580 i'm sure there's lots of anger in the united states too the way things are going with inflation

00:20:32.360 cost of living gasoline all the name of the trees and the rivers and everything else out there oh my

00:20:37.580 goodness right where's the outrage when a lot of muslims were being slaughtered in their civil wars

00:20:43.620 where was the outrage when isis was doing its thing back in syria where was the outrage whether you

00:20:50.640 yeah you many's you many's were being slaughtered in their civil war where's the outrage when there's 0.99

00:20:56.520 another goddamn civil war in sedan right christians and muslims alike being slaughtered all in the name of 0.99

00:21:02.560 their ideas where's the outrage there right so people are picking and choosing what they want 1.00

00:21:08.840 to fight for picking a little virtue to say i'm doing my part you do your part when you sacrifice 0.99

00:21:14.100 some time and effort doing something bigger than your heart or bigger than your fucking avocado toast 1.00

00:21:19.940 you do your part when you put your ass on the line like a firefighter or a police officer confronting 1.00

00:21:26.560 a criminal whether that criminal's high on crack or meth or just pissed off and he's armed to the tits 0.99

00:21:40.940 to quote william shatner get a life okay because none of you have the guts to get up and actually

00:21:48.500 hold a rifle up and fight the good fight what you think it may be you know you'd rather sit in campus

00:21:55.640 you'd rather sit in the campus and promote this whole called victim narrative and say the plight of

00:22:00.700 this is happening because or the plight of this oh colonialism oh my god you know white nationalism

00:22:05.760 oh my god all the big buzzwords buzzwords rejecting conjuring up regurgitation regurgitation all saying 0.98

00:22:12.940 the same thing your opinion doesn't fucking matter get up and do something about it if you're so 0.97

00:22:19.560 involved with with the program get up and do something are you willing to pick up a gun and fight 0.99

00:22:25.860 the bad bad israelis are we going to pick up a gun and fight the bad bad hamas what are you going to 0.60

00:22:32.960 do instead there are students that spend a lot of money to go and get a post-secondary education

00:22:38.840 on all these campuses across canada the united states in britain australia too and the last thing 0.99

00:22:44.300 i want to deal with is some professional cry bully shaking their bony little fucking uh identify as hand 1.00

00:22:51.000 in their faces and being told they're worthless or being told they're stupid okay we're seeing the 1.00

00:22:57.500 anti-semitism full bore on the evening news doesn't matter if you're in the states or in canada 1.00

00:23:02.860 and yet you want to stop hate speech you want to stop hatred and division and yet you encourage that 0.99

00:23:59.640 ladies and gentlemen and we're carrying on with this episode about the hamas and and all these other

00:24:03.860 issues i remember when the first gulf war happened back in the 90s and how the lines were crossed how

00:24:10.080 the vision was there how it wasn't there and how the media had a heyday with a lot of the attacks and

00:24:16.480 the bombings and the scud missiles and oh my goodness and what saddam machine was doing and the satire and

00:24:22.000 the comedy that went on thereafter and that war ended pretty quickly right and there are people that do

00:24:29.380 suffer from that war still to this day however that gave you insight and how the media likes to mold

00:24:35.360 shape and manipulate and every which way they can doesn't matter if it's the big broadcasters down

00:24:40.080 the states the big broadcasters here in canada or the big shots in britain it what matters is that

00:24:46.240 they try to exaggerate a lot of points justify it and in this country especially a lot of our

00:24:51.880 mainstream media has been bought and sold and paid for by the federal government i.e. means the taxpayer

00:24:56.560 so you'd think all the taxpayer dollars that have gone into newsprint and it is some stations and

00:25:02.160 it is into the cbc you would think the cbc or other conglomerates and point parts thereof

00:25:07.680 would cater by telling you the truth but they won't because they still gotta get paid

00:25:14.540 this large this last budget has this last federal budget has proven that cbc is getting another 42 million

00:25:21.700 bucks while people that are that have 250 000 in in capital gains are gonna get nailed royally

00:25:29.460 in the name of taxes and fairness generational fairness right and of course the mainstream media

00:25:35.580 eats it all up i wonder how many bigwigs in the cbc ctv and global alike are gonna have to pay their

00:25:43.320 fair share when it comes to tax time i still haven't filed yet ladies and gentlemen

00:25:47.760 not that it matters i will file soon just so the powers that be don't give me a hard time 0.91

00:25:56.400 and threaten me with some really bad things like more goddamn fines and more excuses on why they have 0.95

00:26:02.300 to suck the economic integrity out of working class people such as you such as myself such as my wife 0.98

00:26:08.820 and everything everybody else that does 40 plus a week you know i i could go on for hours about this

00:26:15.820 but i'm still digressing anyway this has been another episode of the cresting up podcast ladies

00:26:21.200 and gentlemen do what you can help you out in these trying times do not be afraid to speak out if we

00:26:26.200 got to speak out do it now right my friends at northern perspective and radio reaction they are doing a

00:26:31.580 letter campaign to a lot of the nd peer members of parliament as well as some liberals too saying how this

00:26:38.780 budget really sucks do it i've done it i've sent emails mind you but that's the best way it can do 0.67

00:26:47.040 it without actually protesting and stopping traffic and putting up tents on campuses and talk about the 0.97

00:26:52.160 unfairness you know how it goes you know let's have some avocado toast and talk about our lives

00:26:56.420 okay where's the drum let's smoke a joint oh yeah okay you know i mean you know before i blow a

00:27:04.080 gasket here or some of the buffoonery that's been bestowed in us every day like i say just do what

00:27:09.220 you can help you out in these trying times weather is getting better in this area so if you're watching

00:27:13.280 me locally just keep everything sealed up it's been raining so ground is getting softer that means the

00:27:19.060 farmer's gonna have a good chance getting the crops in and there'll be some good food hopefully by the

00:27:23.660 fall unless it's too bloody expensive who knows what's gonna happen like i said i've been crusty
