The Glenn Beck Program - 8⧸29⧸17 - Do something that matters (Live Houston coverage w⧸ Jason Buttrill)

00:00:00.000 The Blaze Radio Network, on demand.

00:00:07.800 I believe that we are being given an opportunity to actually see the truth of who we are as a country.

00:00:20.580 Antifa, Nazis, Berkeley, all of that.

00:00:25.300 Everything you're seeing on television, in the media, that's all a lie about who we are.

00:00:33.500 We can talk all you want about the Confederate states and the Confederate flag and the statues

00:00:40.640 and whether they need to go or whether they need to be pulled down.

00:00:44.980 None of that makes any difference when Americans are in trouble.

00:00:51.560 And one of those Confederate slave states, the evil state of Texas, is again leading the way,

00:01:03.080 showing America who Americans really are. 0.64

00:01:07.860 A great opportunity for us to look and say,

00:01:12.420 you want to be with those guys or you want to be with these people?

00:01:16.060 One is good and lifting up, and one is tearing down.

00:01:24.320 I don't know about you, but to me, the choice is really clear.

00:01:28.580 And we begin there right now.

00:01:30.440 I will make a stand, I will raise my voice, I will hold your hand.

00:01:38.300 Cause we are one, I will beat my drum, I have made my choice, we will overcome.

00:01:46.900 Cause we are one.

00:01:49.000 The fusion of entertainment and enlightenment.

00:01:52.780 This is the Glenn Beck Program.

00:01:56.360 I want to talk to you briefly, cause I don't want to dwell on this.

00:02:02.600 I want to just give you a couple of stories that I saw yesterday

00:02:05.180 that I think are important, because I want to put

00:02:09.380 I want to put Martin Luther King's words to the test.

00:02:15.860 That America, when they see the difference between good and evil, black and white,

00:02:20.060 when they are put side by side, Americans will always pick good.

00:02:27.520 And I've wondered, is that true?

00:02:31.300 Because everything we see on television is bad.

00:02:34.920 Everything about us is bad.

00:02:37.800 And I've wondered, will we be able to choose good anymore?

00:02:42.620 Let me just give you a couple of examples, and you tell me.

00:02:48.440 Leftist group, Antifa, Occupy Trump.

00:02:53.280 They now say that they are going to do a month-long, months-long resistance

00:02:58.380 against Donald Trump.

00:03:00.060 Beginning November 4th, resistance protesters will begin a multi-year

00:03:05.660 Occupy Wall Street-style demonstration in major cities across America.

00:03:10.360 They are calling themselves resist-fascism.

00:03:18.100 When you look into this group and these people, you see what they really want.

00:03:24.000 And what they really want is not a resistance of fascism,

00:03:26.820 but their own style of fascism.

00:03:30.360 You then have Antifa and the violence that is going on in Berkeley.

00:03:37.520 And then Burning Man is right around the corner.

00:03:42.220 Burning Man, which seemed to be kind of a fun thing when it first started,

00:03:47.100 kind of a cool thing, fun, now has turned into hate the rich.

00:03:52.980 People are throwing raw sewage on the tents of the rich people that are there, 0.99

00:04:00.300 calling them parasites. 0.85

00:04:01.680 And here are some of the things that are happening at Burning Man. 0.98

00:04:06.880 Slutty Mini Golf, hosted by Camp Slut Putt.

00:04:11.440 Burners are invited to come play around in Slutty Mini Golf. 0.99

00:04:15.060 May the biggest slut win. 1.00

00:04:17.420 Pullgasm, get yours. 1.00

00:04:19.360 The event page doesn't define exactly what that means,

00:04:23.500 but I think you can figure out.

00:04:27.520 There's another one that I don't need to say the name.

00:04:30.820 Listed under Adult Oriented Activities.

00:04:34.840 Offers various ways for women to find intense physical pleasure. 0.97

00:04:41.600 Then there is Camp Beaverton's Lesbian-ish Lending Library. 0.95

00:04:45.200 Pick up a good book, share one of your favorites. 0.98

00:04:47.260 Trashy lesbian romance novels. 0.98

00:04:48.980 Man-to-man play, adult 18, gay bi-curious men, 24-7, 0.98

00:04:55.180 to down-low clubs, discreet air-cooled tent for erotic man play.

00:04:59.940 There's the Spank Bank. 0.85

00:05:02.200 Have you been naughty or would you like to be? 0.99

00:05:04.200 The Sex Cult. 0.99

00:05:05.820 Spanky's University. 0.78

00:05:07.820 And a day spa that I can't tell you.

00:05:11.040 And here's one that I think is interesting.

00:05:14.100 Sponsored by Planned Parenthood.

00:05:16.960 Rebirth Your Burn.

00:05:18.060 The Birth Canal.

00:05:20.440 Planned Parenthood is proud to present a new birth canal

00:05:22.760 for you to shed the sins of yesterday and be reborn into the dust.

00:05:27.320 Spend a meditative moment in our womb of a dome

00:05:30.460 and then climb into the canal and be delivered.

00:05:33.340 Squeeze your way through the start and start the rest of your new life.

00:05:37.000 It won't hurt or much.

00:05:39.260 Nearby bar.

00:05:40.660 Open from noon to midnight.

00:05:42.900 Bring your own sins. 0.89

00:05:44.060 You have to navigate an obstacle course of contraceptive devices through an interior orifice.

00:05:49.760 Twisty turns of the birth canal.

00:05:51.880 Reproducing something that we all have in common.

00:05:54.780 The moment we entered into this self-reliant dusty life. 0.90

00:05:58.580 You have to jump over a big freaking Bible.

00:06:01.820 Through a coat hanger and climb a set of stairs to nowhere.

00:06:05.800 And you can chill in the room.

00:06:08.040 Okay.

00:06:08.760 That's what they're doing.

00:06:11.100 Now let me tell you another story.

00:06:18.160 Rockport, Texas.

00:06:20.340 Saturday.

00:06:20.780 The residents affected by Hurricane Harvey.

00:06:26.620 They went to a storm shelter in Rockport.

00:06:29.720 It was in disarray.

00:06:31.080 Nobody knew what to do.

00:06:35.140 The guy who was in charge was a 29-year-old guy.

00:06:38.300 He had no medical expertise at all.

00:06:40.940 He was actually a screenwriter.

00:06:43.160 He had moved to Rockport from Lexington, Kentucky three months ago

00:06:47.640 where he was living with his father, a cancer survivor.

00:06:50.940 He went to a shelter to find out how he could help ahead of the storm on Friday.

00:06:56.080 After realizing there were no supplies or management at the shelter,

00:07:00.100 he stepped up.

00:07:02.380 Texas Emergency Medical Task Force, when they arrived,

00:07:05.620 they asked who was running the shelter and everyone pointed to him.

00:07:09.940 He was the only one able to update on the situation.

00:07:13.460 The shelter had 126 people at last headcount.

00:07:16.040 Six were medically fragile.

00:07:18.240 Four needed oxygen.

00:07:19.600 Two needed hospice care.

00:07:22.080 He was able to recruit 15 people, most of them under the age of 21.

00:07:26.500 He assigned them to 30-minute shifts.

00:07:28.900 They got people together into the shelter.

00:07:30.920 They pulled food and water.

00:07:32.260 They plugged leaks from the incoming rain.

00:07:34.100 He, without any experience, without anybody asking,

00:07:38.700 he just stepped up and got it done.

00:07:42.120 But it's not just here, over and over and over again,

00:07:46.560 stories of heroism.

00:07:49.740 Instead of the situation like it was in New Orleans,

00:07:55.160 three days into it,

00:07:57.180 where people were looting and shooting at the helicopters,

00:08:01.900 instead,

00:08:04.840 Houston, Texas,

00:08:06.200 one of the most diverse cities in the nation,

00:08:09.840 is pulling together.

00:08:13.300 But also in New York City.

00:08:21.060 Michael Klein,

00:08:22.580 he was on WCBS,

00:08:24.020 said she was walking up the stairs

00:08:31.020 of the Broadway Lafayette subway station Saturday.

00:08:35.600 She saw two people sitting in a dangerous place above the trains.

00:08:40.340 There were beams about 20 feet high, 5 feet apart.

00:08:44.660 She said,

00:08:45.380 I really couldn't tell if they were laughing

00:08:47.420 or if one person was crying.

00:08:49.220 I thought they were friends.

00:08:50.260 I wasn't sure.

00:08:50.860 My first thought was,

00:08:51.880 how did they get up there?

00:08:53.140 Why are you goofing off?

00:08:54.740 This is so dangerous.

00:08:57.740 She asked another passenger

00:08:59.100 what was going on.

00:09:02.720 The girl said,

00:09:04.520 see that girl? 1.00

00:09:06.200 She just climbed over the railing. 0.75

00:09:07.520 She went across the beam.

00:09:08.740 She was saying suicidal things.

00:09:10.940 And that guy,

00:09:12.060 who apparently doesn't know her,

00:09:15.140 climbed over the fence with her,

00:09:17.080 walked out onto this beam,

00:09:18.500 put his arm around her,

00:09:20.320 and was comforting her.

00:09:25.180 Now let me ask you,

00:09:26.780 are you going to climb over a fence?

00:09:29.500 Are you going to whack a tight rope

00:09:31.320 across a beam,

00:09:33.080 25 feet above

00:09:34.440 the deadly subway trains

00:09:36.540 in New York City

00:09:37.400 to go try to rescue

00:09:39.300 a girl that you don't know?

00:09:41.060 Now let me ask you this.

00:09:46.500 Which one of these are we?

00:09:49.800 And yes, I know,

00:09:50.860 we're both.

00:09:52.060 We have in our society

00:09:53.420 both.

00:09:56.980 But which one do you want

00:09:58.000 to be a part of?

00:10:01.240 Do you want to be a part of something

00:10:02.800 that is so shallow

00:10:04.060 that your accomplishment

00:10:07.060 in life

00:10:08.540 with all of the things

00:10:10.280 that are going on,

00:10:11.020 your accomplishment

00:10:11.880 in life

00:10:12.660 is to come up

00:10:14.380 with a birth canal

00:10:15.980 where you're challenging

00:10:17.700 people who are going

00:10:18.940 to a bar

00:10:19.720 to try to navigate

00:10:21.340 over the big 0.95

00:10:22.520 freaking Bible 0.96

00:10:23.800 and a coat hanger?

00:10:29.840 With all the things

00:10:31.000 going on in the world,

00:10:31.900 do you want to stand

00:10:32.880 with the people,

00:10:33.860 be them Nazis 0.91

00:10:34.600 or Antifa?

00:10:35.360 Do you want to be

00:10:37.300 the one

00:10:37.760 that is standing

00:10:39.520 with them?

00:10:41.300 That is talking

00:10:42.320 about why

00:10:43.120 that statue

00:10:44.080 of the guy

00:10:45.480 who started

00:10:46.140 the Klan 0.57

00:10:46.760 should be up

00:10:48.960 or shouldn't be up?

00:10:52.020 But not just

00:10:52.940 discussing it

00:10:53.800 in a logical way

00:10:54.680 and using

00:10:55.300 the usual

00:10:56.860 American ways

00:10:58.240 of solving problems.

00:10:59.880 Instead,

00:11:00.620 you want to be

00:11:01.040 the ones

00:11:01.520 shouting at each other?

00:11:03.560 I don't think so.

00:11:04.740 None of us do.

00:11:05.360 We all want

00:11:08.180 to be the person

00:11:08.880 on the beam.

00:11:11.380 But not all of us

00:11:12.300 can be.

00:11:15.880 Not all of us

00:11:16.700 have the courage.

00:11:17.500 I don't have the courage

00:11:18.360 to be the 9-11

00:11:19.820 firefighters.

00:11:21.020 I don't have the courage

00:11:21.820 to be a regular firefighter.

00:11:23.040 I don't have the courage

00:11:23.780 to be a cop.

00:11:26.560 But we all

00:11:27.520 want to support

00:11:29.600 the people

00:11:31.120 who do walk

00:11:31.820 out of the beam.

00:11:32.460 We want to

00:11:34.700 be there

00:11:35.520 and cheer them on

00:11:36.600 and be inspired

00:11:37.780 by the ones

00:11:38.420 who do run up

00:11:39.460 the stairs

00:11:39.920 into a burning building.

00:11:42.280 The ones who do

00:11:43.680 stand in front

00:11:45.360 of

00:11:45.800 the bad guys,

00:11:47.780 quite honestly,

00:11:48.400 and protect

00:11:49.100 their right.

00:11:49.840 America has been

00:11:59.520 given a great

00:12:00.240 gift,

00:12:01.800 a reprieve

00:12:02.720 from the hatred

00:12:03.640 and a chance

00:12:05.020 to see

00:12:05.700 who we

00:12:07.660 really are.

00:12:10.660 If your media

00:12:11.500 source is not

00:12:12.420 giving you the

00:12:12.980 opportunity

00:12:13.420 to see those

00:12:14.900 things

00:12:15.340 and to not

00:12:16.420 make this

00:12:16.940 about politics,

00:12:17.880 to not make

00:12:18.620 this about

00:12:19.140 party

00:12:20.220 and partisan

00:12:21.280 and policy,

00:12:24.240 I don't know

00:12:26.040 about you,

00:12:27.500 but I'm done

00:12:29.480 with all that.

00:12:30.640 There's too much

00:12:31.680 real pain

00:12:32.860 going on

00:12:33.460 in the world

00:12:34.000 to spend

00:12:35.980 our time

00:12:36.640 and our day

00:12:37.160 just worried

00:12:37.800 about that.

00:12:40.740 My daughter

00:12:41.440 and I

00:12:41.640 were having

00:12:41.940 a conversation.

00:12:43.940 She said,

00:12:44.880 Dad,

00:12:45.100 I just want

00:12:45.880 to make a difference.

00:12:46.980 That's all

00:12:47.560 I want

00:12:47.780 to do.

00:12:48.080 I want

00:12:48.360 to know

00:12:48.680 that what

00:12:49.000 I get up

00:12:49.460 in the morning

00:12:49.880 and do

00:12:50.400 that it

00:12:51.460 matters.

00:12:54.460 It's so

00:12:55.000 funny.

00:12:55.520 I told her,

00:12:56.040 I said,

00:12:56.340 honey,

00:12:56.560 I want

00:12:56.780 you to

00:12:57.020 come back

00:12:57.420 to work

00:12:57.820 and I

00:12:58.020 want you

00:12:58.260 to read

00:12:59.060 what I

00:12:59.380 wrote

00:12:59.640 on my

00:13:00.220 glass

00:13:01.020 window.

00:13:01.720 I use

00:13:02.380 it as

00:13:02.640 kind of

00:13:02.880 a whiteboard.

00:13:04.400 I said,

00:13:04.960 I just wrote

00:13:05.460 something on

00:13:06.020 there just

00:13:06.900 today.

00:13:09.260 This was

00:13:09.800 last week.

00:13:11.800 I want

00:13:12.380 to do

00:13:12.640 something

00:13:12.980 that

00:13:13.240 matters.

00:13:16.980 we're

00:13:17.780 all

00:13:17.940 like

00:13:18.140 that.

00:13:19.400 Here's

00:13:19.740 an

00:13:19.860 opportunity.

00:13:21.080 I'll tell

00:13:21.580 you what

00:13:21.800 we have

00:13:22.140 going on

00:13:22.500 on the

00:13:22.640 ground.

00:13:22.880 We're

00:13:22.960 going to

00:13:23.100 take you

00:13:23.360 to

00:13:23.480 Houston

00:13:23.800 here

00:13:24.140 in a

00:13:24.360 second.

00:13:24.980 If you

00:13:25.240 want to

00:13:25.480 get

00:13:25.620 involved,

00:13:26.620 please go

00:13:27.180 to

00:13:27.340 mercuryone.org.

00:13:28.940 That's

00:13:29.200 mercuryone.org.

00:13:30.480 I'm going

00:13:30.660 to tell

00:13:30.980 you the

00:13:31.300 things that

00:13:31.740 Mercury One

00:13:32.280 is doing.

00:13:33.220 100% of

00:13:34.180 all of the

00:13:34.500 proceeds

00:13:34.860 going right

00:13:35.480 directly to

00:13:36.100 the people

00:13:36.420 I'm going

00:13:36.700 to tell

00:13:36.960 you about,

00:13:38.060 already out

00:13:38.520 on the

00:13:38.700 ground,

00:13:39.100 who were

00:13:39.460 in semi-trucks

00:13:40.900 on Friday

00:13:41.600 staging water

00:13:42.600 and blankets

00:13:43.200 and everything

00:13:43.680 else,

00:13:44.620 you have

00:13:45.280 helped us

00:13:46.740 incredible

00:13:47.560 network of

00:13:48.600 good people

00:13:49.420 that can

00:13:49.800 help.

00:13:50.520 You want to

00:13:50.960 make a

00:13:51.240 difference and

00:13:51.720 you have

00:14:19.300 I suggest

00:14:25.020 and open

00:14:27.060 it and then

00:14:27.500 stand back

00:14:28.160 and watch

00:14:28.680 this thing

00:14:29.300 explode into

00:14:30.640 a full-size,

00:14:31.860 you know,

00:14:32.240 king-size or

00:15:26.400 You're listening

00:15:27.580 to the Glenn Beck

00:15:28.460 Program.

00:15:29.440 So this

00:15:30.700 storm looks

00:15:31.760 like it

00:15:33.840 is backed

00:15:35.800 out over

00:15:36.940 the gulf

00:15:37.420 again and

00:15:39.000 that usually

00:15:40.520 means it's

00:15:41.180 going to

00:15:41.400 gather steam

00:15:42.340 and then it

00:15:43.120 will come

00:15:43.500 back in.

00:15:44.060 Are we

00:15:44.300 thinking now

00:15:44.820 that it

00:15:45.080 might go to

00:15:45.560 New Orleans?

00:15:46.080 I know

00:15:46.320 Galveston is

00:15:47.080 going to get

00:15:47.400 hit hard

00:15:47.900 again.

00:15:49.480 Yeah,

00:15:49.700 the way they

00:15:50.020 talked about

00:15:50.360 it was not

00:15:50.700 necessarily that

00:15:51.260 it was going

00:15:51.560 to gather

00:15:52.040 strength as

00:15:53.900 much as it

00:15:54.380 was going to

00:15:54.780 gather some

00:15:55.440 more water.

00:15:56.340 Well,

00:15:56.580 same.

00:15:56.940 So we're not

00:15:58.720 necessarily looking

00:15:59.240 at wind

00:15:59.560 problems as

00:16:00.100 much as more

00:16:00.640 rain and

00:16:01.160 Galveston is

00:16:01.660 supposed to get

00:16:02.140 hit very hard,

00:16:03.420 but they don't

00:16:04.080 think New Orleans

00:16:04.540 is going to be

00:16:05.020 massive flooding.

00:16:06.660 New Orleans is

00:16:07.300 still in the

00:16:09.120 same situation

00:16:09.760 they were in.

00:16:10.620 I mean,

00:16:10.980 really,

00:16:12.060 not a lot has

00:16:13.000 happened in

00:16:13.460 New Orleans

00:16:13.860 since the

00:16:15.240 last hurricane.

00:16:17.300 I mean,

00:16:17.460 they didn't fix

00:16:18.160 the problems.

00:16:19.200 They did what

00:16:20.000 a corrupt

00:16:20.700 government always

00:16:21.420 does.

00:16:22.380 They fix as

00:16:23.080 much as they 0.58

00:16:23.540 can and then

00:16:24.060 they waste all

00:16:25.180 of the rest of

00:16:25.800 the money on

00:16:26.460 other things and

00:16:27.940 then they'll

00:16:28.260 blame it on

00:16:28.980 whatever,

00:16:30.120 global warming

00:16:30.800 or, you know,

00:16:32.940 Donald Trump or

00:16:33.700 whatever they're

00:16:34.260 going to blame

00:16:34.600 it on.

00:16:36.160 I don't know

00:16:36.760 if you guys

00:16:37.040 saw the story

00:16:39.260 that Glennbeck.com

00:16:40.320 published today.

00:16:41.160 I just put it

00:16:41.540 up on my

00:16:41.860 Facebook page

00:16:42.540 about an hour

00:16:43.000 ago.

00:16:44.040 We went back

00:16:44.840 and we found

00:16:45.500 the audio

00:16:47.720 of the show

00:16:48.560 I did almost

00:16:49.460 a year to the

00:16:50.280 day of Katrina

00:16:51.120 where I explained

00:16:52.760 what's going to

00:16:53.520 happen to New

00:16:54.560 Orleans if a

00:16:56.040 hurricane blows

00:16:57.020 into New

00:16:57.960 Orleans.

00:16:59.020 It's bone

00:17:00.000 chilling because

00:17:00.900 almost all of it

00:17:01.660 happened.

00:17:02.840 And it wasn't

00:17:03.260 even the strength

00:17:04.300 of the storm

00:17:04.800 that was needed

00:17:05.580 in those

00:17:06.340 predictions.

00:17:06.960 They were

00:17:07.260 talking about

00:17:07.600 if a category

00:17:08.040 five hit it

00:17:08.880 or something

00:17:09.180 and that's not

00:17:09.980 even what

00:17:10.220 happened.

00:17:10.640 It was still

00:17:11.040 a complete

00:17:11.400 disaster.

00:17:12.420 And it's

00:17:12.980 pretty bone

00:17:13.620 chilling.

00:17:14.240 And you

00:17:15.240 look at it

00:17:15.760 now and

00:17:17.080 you say

00:17:18.460 nobody listened

00:17:23.140 to the warning

00:17:23.840 then.

00:17:24.900 Could things

00:17:25.440 have been

00:17:25.760 changed?

00:17:26.520 Yes.

00:17:27.280 And it's why

00:17:28.340 there are so

00:17:28.800 many people in

00:17:29.400 our audience

00:17:29.980 that when

00:17:30.940 Katrina

00:17:31.400 happened,

00:17:32.760 A, we

00:17:33.180 weren't

00:17:33.520 surprised.

00:17:34.240 We knew

00:17:34.740 going into

00:17:35.740 it, if

00:17:36.180 this hits,

00:17:36.980 they should

00:17:37.300 be pulling

00:17:37.680 everybody out.

00:17:38.440 They should

00:17:38.640 pull everybody

00:17:39.220 out.

00:17:40.240 Our audience

00:17:40.960 wasn't surprised

00:17:41.880 and when they

00:17:42.540 started to make

00:17:43.180 this about

00:17:43.620 politics, we

00:17:44.880 again weren't

00:17:45.540 surprised because

00:17:46.380 the politicians,

00:17:47.740 the local

00:17:48.040 politicians, had

00:17:49.060 to make it

00:17:49.520 about something

00:17:50.280 otherwise it

00:17:51.180 would have

00:17:51.420 come back

00:17:51.940 and been

00:17:53.820 on their

00:17:54.200 doorstep.

00:17:54.760 because it

00:17:56.060 was clear

00:17:56.820 what had

00:17:57.400 happened.

00:17:59.120 Yeah, it's

00:17:59.760 kind of the

00:18:00.060 reverse of

00:18:00.980 Houston.

00:18:01.660 I mean, I

00:18:01.860 know Pat was

00:18:02.520 there for the

00:18:03.220 last huge

00:18:03.940 storm.

00:18:04.840 Was it

00:18:05.260 Rita, Pat?

00:18:06.820 Well, the

00:18:07.380 last one that

00:18:08.380 caused a lot

00:18:08.820 of damage was

00:18:09.380 Ike in 0.81

00:18:10.040 2008.

00:18:10.820 2008.

00:18:11.320 But that was

00:18:11.600 only a

00:18:11.880 category two.

00:18:12.700 Right.

00:18:13.240 What was the

00:18:13.660 one, I think

00:18:14.420 it was Rita

00:18:14.740 where everyone

00:18:15.320 tried to

00:18:16.060 leave. 0.99

00:18:16.100 It was Rita

00:18:17.500 where everybody

00:18:18.020 tried to leave.

00:18:18.240 And that was

00:18:18.600 where all the

00:18:19.120 death came.

00:18:19.940 The death came

00:18:20.780 when the people

00:18:21.200 evacuating.

00:18:21.860 Three million

00:18:22.260 people evacuating

00:18:23.100 at the same

00:18:23.560 time caused

00:18:24.100 some problems.

00:18:25.640 So is that

00:18:26.740 why the city

00:18:27.700 decided not

00:18:28.560 to evacuate

00:18:29.060 this time?

00:18:29.900 It might be.

00:18:30.720 And did that

00:18:31.280 save people?

00:18:32.880 We don't know.

00:18:33.460 I mean, I guess

00:18:34.080 it's too early

00:18:34.980 to tell that.

00:18:35.980 You know,

00:18:36.200 they're getting

00:18:37.000 a lot of

00:18:37.480 criticism and

00:18:38.060 there was

00:18:38.280 disagreement

00:18:38.640 between the

00:18:39.260 governor and

00:18:40.260 the mayor.

00:18:42.600 So, you know,

00:18:44.500 I know there

00:18:45.160 are people in

00:18:45.860 Houston who

00:18:47.060 believe an

00:18:49.080 evacuation,

00:18:49.840 especially the

00:18:50.300 way that storm

00:18:50.800 came in,

00:18:51.320 which, again,

00:18:51.800 it was supposed

00:18:52.220 to hit really

00:18:52.720 more Corpus

00:18:53.300 Christi.

00:18:53.720 And then

00:18:55.400 it was

00:18:56.160 really overnight

00:18:57.300 kind of came

00:18:58.420 in and this

00:18:58.860 was sort of a

00:18:59.500 surprise in

00:19:00.080 Houston that

00:19:00.940 it hit this

00:19:01.500 way, this

00:19:01.980 badly.

00:19:03.140 And they,

00:19:04.080 without that

00:19:04.920 much warning,

00:19:05.500 trying to

00:19:05.800 evacuate people 1.00

00:19:06.360 that quickly,

00:19:06.880 they think may

00:19:07.560 have been

00:19:07.980 worse.

00:19:08.600 if you would

00:19:09.380 have done

00:19:09.640 that, I

00:19:10.160 mean, look

00:19:10.420 at the

00:19:10.620 highways, if

00:19:12.020 you would

00:19:12.360 have done

00:19:12.760 that and

00:19:13.440 evacuated all

00:19:14.280 those people

00:19:14.860 and they were

00:19:15.320 all sitting

00:19:15.720 there, remember

00:19:16.260 Pat, they

00:19:17.340 ran out of

00:19:18.180 gas.

00:19:18.780 People ran

00:19:19.720 out of gas.

00:19:20.780 There was no

00:19:21.460 way to get out.

00:19:22.100 They'd have been

00:19:22.280 trapped in the

00:19:22.300 flooding.

00:19:22.960 Right.

00:19:23.660 A lot of people

00:19:24.440 would have died.

00:19:25.180 I mean, there

00:19:25.620 would have been

00:19:26.180 people, if they

00:19:27.240 were lucky, you

00:19:27.900 don't see the

00:19:28.660 roofs of the

00:19:29.520 cars on those

00:19:31.420 highways.

00:19:32.040 Those are long

00:19:33.080 underneath the

00:19:33.660 water.

00:19:33.900 imagine you

00:19:36.900 have the

00:19:37.320 population of

00:19:38.640 Houston on

00:19:39.500 the streets, in

00:19:40.540 their cars, trapped

00:19:41.780 with their

00:19:42.400 families.

00:19:44.120 That would

00:19:44.460 have been

00:19:45.500 horrendous.

00:19:48.540 I mean, I

00:19:49.140 don't think that

00:19:49.740 we judge good

00:19:52.140 or bad right

00:19:53.180 now on the

00:19:53.880 evacuation plan

00:19:55.180 that didn't

00:19:56.460 happen in

00:19:57.260 Houston.

00:19:57.720 It may have

00:19:58.120 actually been a

00:19:58.740 godsend this

00:19:59.680 time around with

00:20:01.140 the way this

00:20:01.720 thing rolled in.

00:20:02.740 back in just a

00:20:04.060 second, live

00:20:04.620 report from

00:20:05.360 Houston on the

00:20:06.960 boats.

00:20:08.000 Next.

00:20:14.300 The Glenn Beck

00:20:15.580 Program.

00:20:17.280 Mercury.

00:20:20.440 This is the

00:20:21.340 Glenn Beck

00:20:21.920 Program.

00:20:22.720 As you may

00:20:23.220 have heard, I

00:20:23.800 was out

00:20:24.080 yesterday.

00:20:26.200 It's because I'm

00:20:27.120 leaving the

00:20:27.540 industry to start

00:20:28.160 my own face

00:20:28.800 cream company,

00:20:30.640 offshoot.

00:20:31.960 But I found

00:20:32.400 out yesterday

00:20:32.800 that it's

00:20:33.220 really not

00:20:33.700 that good.

00:20:34.380 I don't

00:20:34.680 know why.

00:20:35.620 Yeah, I

00:20:35.860 don't know

00:20:36.160 why Mark

00:20:37.860 Zuckerberg's

00:20:38.500 wife now is

00:20:39.440 leaving to

00:20:40.460 start her own

00:20:41.100 face cream

00:20:41.580 company.

00:20:43.860 It's not that

00:20:44.580 good.

00:20:45.260 So I'm back.

00:20:46.040 Anyway.

00:20:46.280 You are the

00:20:46.660 only person

00:20:47.260 who's ever

00:20:47.620 come back.

00:20:48.300 That's amazing.

00:20:48.960 I know.

00:20:49.240 I know.

00:20:50.200 I know.

00:20:50.800 So we have

00:20:51.100 Jason Buttrell

00:20:51.680 on.

00:20:52.320 Jason is

00:20:52.980 chief researcher

00:20:54.180 for the

00:20:55.260 Glenn Beck

00:20:55.800 Program.

00:20:56.980 He's also

00:20:57.820 former Army

00:20:59.260 Intel and

00:21:01.880 just a general

00:21:04.320 do-good kind

00:21:05.500 of guy that we

00:21:06.140 love having

00:21:06.620 around.

00:21:07.040 Jason is in

00:21:08.320 Houston right

00:21:09.700 now.

00:21:10.560 And you are,

00:21:11.500 are you on the

00:21:12.020 boats yet with

00:21:13.500 Team Rubicon?

00:21:15.560 We are not on

00:21:16.600 the boats yet,

00:21:17.320 but we are en route

00:21:18.600 to a location

00:21:20.020 that's further

00:21:20.560 south, closer

00:21:22.100 into the heart

00:21:23.260 of Houston

00:21:23.760 proper.

00:21:24.820 We linked up

00:21:25.260 last night,

00:21:25.860 got to the

00:21:26.220 rally point,

00:21:26.900 and they were

00:21:27.500 just kind of

00:21:27.800 getting all

00:21:28.080 their gear

00:21:28.320 together.

00:21:28.720 But now

00:21:29.040 we're in a

00:21:29.620 convoy down

00:21:30.360 to one of

00:21:30.920 the, what

00:21:31.320 they're saying

00:21:31.700 is the

00:21:32.040 hardest hit

00:21:32.660 area at

00:21:33.100 the moment.

00:21:33.880 There's been

00:21:34.420 a levee that

00:21:35.120 is broken

00:21:35.480 nearby, and

00:21:36.780 there is

00:21:37.420 certain spots

00:21:38.520 that are in

00:21:38.920 the most need

00:21:39.540 where people

00:21:39.860 are requesting

00:21:40.360 the most

00:21:40.780 amount of

00:21:41.300 rescue work,

00:21:42.980 and that is

00:21:43.740 where they're

00:21:43.980 heading.

00:21:44.300 They're heading

00:21:44.540 right into the

00:21:45.240 middle of it.

00:21:45.840 It is, I

00:21:46.600 tell you, Glenn,

00:21:47.040 I'm just really

00:21:48.600 impressed with

00:21:49.680 everything we've

00:21:50.600 seen so far.

00:21:51.620 There's been no

00:21:53.760 towards Houston

00:21:54.480 at all, except

00:21:55.820 for just good

00:21:57.120 Samaritans and

00:21:58.160 other private

00:21:58.700 organizations like

00:21:59.560 Team Rubicon

00:22:00.020 with boats.

00:22:01.080 All you can see

00:22:01.640 going, we're in

00:22:02.340 a convoy now,

00:22:03.480 and all you can

00:22:03.880 see is boats,

00:22:04.960 private flat

00:22:05.760 bottom boats

00:22:07.120 heading down

00:22:08.100 to help people.

00:22:08.900 It really is

00:22:09.400 amazing.

00:22:09.860 People are

00:22:10.200 awesome.

00:22:10.820 I will tell

00:22:11.300 you that this

00:22:11.840 is the idea,

00:22:13.840 and yes, I

00:22:15.280 believe that the

00:22:16.960 federal government

00:22:17.580 has a role and

00:22:18.600 everything else,

00:22:19.200 but it is the

00:22:19.820 role of last

00:22:21.580 resort.

00:22:22.200 It is always

00:22:22.840 the role of

00:22:23.520 last resort.

00:22:24.220 We need to

00:22:24.800 be the first

00:22:25.300 responders.

00:22:26.620 We'd still be

00:22:27.680 waiting for

00:22:28.680 FEMA to get

00:22:29.640 boats and

00:22:30.340 everything else.

00:22:31.300 Look at what

00:22:31.920 just the average

00:22:32.840 citizen is doing.

00:22:34.160 I got a boat,

00:22:34.820 I'm going down,

00:22:36.180 and they're going

00:22:36.720 down, and they're

00:22:37.360 rescuing people.

00:22:38.400 This is who we

00:22:39.000 are.

00:22:40.600 This is exactly

00:22:41.540 who we are.

00:22:42.020 We have seen

00:22:42.820 some FEMA people

00:22:44.440 as well.

00:22:45.640 We saw a crew

00:22:46.520 from Miami-Dade

00:22:47.380 FEMA sent them

00:22:48.340 down.

00:22:48.620 We saw them

00:22:49.000 yesterday.

00:22:49.740 I don't want to

00:22:51.540 bash them by any

00:22:52.360 stretch of the 0.94

00:22:52.760 imagination.

00:22:53.340 All hands on

00:22:54.040 deck, and I

00:22:54.680 welcome everybody.

00:22:55.860 So please don't

00:22:56.540 take that as a

00:22:57.180 FEMA bash. 0.97

00:22:58.920 But you are

00:22:59.980 exactly right,

00:23:00.640 I saw one

00:23:03.760 FEMA crew that

00:23:04.820 was out here.

00:23:05.360 Everybody else

00:23:06.080 has been private

00:23:06.660 organizations and

00:23:07.420 private citizens.

00:23:08.360 I'm absolutely

00:23:08.900 amazed.

00:23:09.480 And these people

00:23:10.180 are doing this

00:23:10.700 under incredible

00:23:11.920 harm.

00:23:12.660 They're already

00:23:13.000 getting, and this

00:23:13.640 is a big, big,

00:23:14.500 of course they're

00:23:14.880 worried about their

00:23:15.260 safety, and

00:23:15.760 there's another

00:23:16.480 storm that's

00:23:17.160 blowing.

00:23:17.420 It's blowing back

00:23:18.080 in, I think, a

00:23:19.920 few hours, and

00:23:20.720 they're expecting

00:23:21.160 another 16 inches

00:23:22.280 of rain just by

00:23:24.040 this evening.

00:23:25.120 So this is going

00:23:25.880 to get a lot

00:23:26.780 worse.

00:23:27.420 But beyond that,

00:23:28.840 they're already

00:23:29.280 starting to get

00:23:29.900 reports that some

00:23:31.340 people, as the

00:23:32.000 boat crews are

00:23:32.480 going house to

00:23:33.000 house, there are

00:23:34.240 reports that some

00:23:34.860 of them are

00:23:35.140 getting ambushed.

00:23:35.940 They're trying to

00:23:36.560 overtake some of

00:23:37.220 the boats and

00:23:37.760 steal the boats.

00:23:38.460 People are

00:23:38.740 getting desperate.

00:23:39.560 At this point,

00:23:40.240 they don't have

00:23:41.240 any power.

00:23:41.980 They're running

00:23:42.360 out of food.

00:23:42.960 They're running

00:23:43.240 out of water.

00:23:44.420 There's other

00:23:44.980 reports that people

00:23:45.780 are shooting at the

00:23:46.640 rescue boats as

00:23:47.780 are going by.

00:23:48.360 People are

00:23:48.760 desperate.

00:23:49.460 So here's the

00:23:50.240 thing that we

00:23:51.920 learned, and this

00:23:52.880 is something that

00:23:53.560 the United States

00:23:54.620 government did a

00:23:55.280 study on in the

00:23:55.860 1950s and 60s,

00:23:57.600 in fear of

00:23:59.260 nuclear war.

00:24:00.440 If things break

00:24:01.480 down, how long

00:24:02.360 do you have?

00:24:02.960 Generally speaking,

00:24:03.880 you have about

00:24:04.400 72 hours before

00:24:06.620 people start to

00:24:07.580 get violent.

00:24:08.640 And that is

00:24:09.260 because it's not

00:24:11.040 necessarily the

00:24:11.800 desperation as

00:24:13.340 much as it is

00:24:14.400 people realize,

00:24:16.800 I'm the king of

00:24:17.300 the world.

00:24:18.360 I have this

00:24:19.300 little fiefdom,

00:24:20.160 and I can do

00:24:20.880 whatever I want,

00:24:22.620 and nobody's

00:24:23.440 coming in to

00:24:24.260 stop me.

00:24:25.520 And the bad

00:24:26.320 guys, and

00:24:27.600 every city, and

00:24:28.700 every race, and

00:24:30.040 everything else,

00:24:30.920 has bad guys like

00:24:32.220 that.

00:24:32.900 And it usually

00:24:34.000 takes about 72

00:24:35.000 hours.

00:24:35.420 I'm surprised it

00:24:36.180 has taken this

00:24:36.940 long.

00:24:37.680 I'm sorry to hear

00:24:38.460 that that's going

00:24:39.100 on, but it's not

00:24:39.960 a surprise.

00:24:41.480 But the good

00:24:42.360 news is that in

00:24:44.360 spite of the bad

00:24:45.120 guys, there is a

00:24:46.300 fleet, there is an

00:24:47.300 army of good

00:24:48.240 guys.

00:24:49.560 The group are

00:24:50.460 with Team

00:24:50.780 Rubicon.

00:24:51.820 They're primarily

00:24:52.660 a veteran group.

00:24:54.120 They're veterans.

00:24:54.760 We were talking

00:24:55.140 to them and

00:24:55.460 hanging out with

00:24:55.880 them all last

00:24:56.340 night as we were

00:24:56.780 getting all our

00:24:57.140 gear together.

00:24:58.700 And there's guys

00:24:59.900 like some of my

00:25:00.580 boys from the

00:25:01.100 Marine Corps.

00:25:01.820 There's Army

00:25:03.100 vets.

00:25:03.520 There's Navy

00:25:03.940 vets.

00:25:04.360 There's all

00:25:05.080 branches of

00:25:05.880 service represented

00:25:06.540 out here with

00:25:07.020 this organization.

00:25:08.140 And I was

00:25:08.600 talking to them,

00:25:09.040 and I'm like,

00:25:09.460 you know, you

00:25:09.780 work for Team

00:25:11.760 Rubicon?

00:25:11.940 We're volunteers.

00:25:13.220 Like, where'd

00:25:13.500 you come from?

00:25:14.040 He's like, oh, I

00:25:14.480 come from New

00:25:14.960 York.

00:25:15.080 One guy was

00:25:15.440 from New

00:25:15.660 Mexico.

00:25:16.440 Another guy was

00:25:17.120 from somewhere

00:25:17.800 else, some

00:25:18.820 other state up

00:25:20.100 north.

00:25:20.900 They just

00:25:21.460 mobilize whenever

00:25:22.260 they're needed.

00:25:22.820 They've been in

00:25:23.420 Nepal. 0.59

00:25:24.220 They go all

00:25:24.560 over the place.

00:25:25.200 If it's 0.96

00:25:25.640 disaster sex, 0.93

00:25:26.380 they mobilize. 0.62

00:25:26.980 This is exactly

00:25:27.620 who we are.

00:25:28.460 We are

00:25:28.720 Americans.

00:25:30.140 And actually, I'm

00:25:31.240 here with Sean,

00:25:31.820 and we both feel

00:25:32.620 kind of small at

00:25:33.420 the moment.

00:25:33.800 We are amongst

00:25:34.320 giants.

00:25:34.720 So, tell me

00:25:36.120 what you saw

00:25:36.880 in Houston

00:25:37.440 that you didn't

00:25:38.000 expect to see.

00:25:40.500 Well, I didn't

00:25:41.360 expect to see

00:25:42.280 the amount of

00:25:43.460 rescue workers.

00:25:44.320 I did not expect

00:25:45.000 that.

00:25:45.380 So, we are

00:25:45.920 starting to see

00:25:47.680 flooding now.

00:25:48.360 We didn't see

00:25:48.740 anyone who came

00:25:49.300 in last night

00:25:49.780 because it was

00:25:50.020 so dark.

00:25:50.740 We are starting

00:25:51.260 to see that now.

00:25:52.100 And we're driving

00:25:52.580 through all the

00:25:52.920 checkpoints to get

00:25:53.520 up until we can

00:25:53.940 put the boats in.

00:25:54.840 But I did not

00:25:55.400 expect to see the

00:25:56.200 amount of people.

00:25:57.740 I mean, we were

00:25:58.820 just in South

00:25:59.280 America, and we

00:26:00.380 saw, you know,

00:26:01.000 we were going

00:26:01.480 down canals, and

00:26:02.200 we saw a bunch

00:26:02.680 of people in boats.

00:26:03.940 You could barely

00:26:04.460 get through some

00:26:05.180 boats now.

00:26:06.260 And that's what

00:26:07.380 it looks like out

00:26:08.420 here in many of

00:26:09.080 these places.

00:26:09.740 But they're all

00:26:10.280 private citizens

00:26:10.900 doing rescue ops.

00:26:12.060 But it's that

00:26:12.640 crowded.

00:26:13.560 I mean, it's

00:26:14.220 amazing.

00:26:14.680 You could almost

00:26:15.220 jump from boat

00:26:16.100 to boat to boat

00:26:16.740 in some of these

00:26:17.300 places.

00:26:17.580 That's how many

00:26:18.140 people are out

00:26:18.720 here trying to

00:26:19.660 help.

00:26:19.980 I did not expect

00:26:20.860 to see that.

00:26:21.920 Texans, you have

00:26:22.760 stood up today.

00:26:23.620 I am so proud of

00:26:24.420 you.

00:26:24.800 Would you do me a

00:26:25.320 favor, and please

00:26:26.780 call somebody, I

00:26:28.480 don't know who

00:26:29.140 would do this, call

00:26:29.660 Michelle in my

00:26:30.180 office, but make

00:26:31.400 sure you have

00:26:31.800 access to my

00:26:33.600 Facebook page.

00:26:34.460 and live stream

00:26:35.620 some stuff today

00:26:36.580 for me on my

00:26:37.860 Facebook page, and 0.55

00:26:39.060 also shoot some

00:26:40.280 stuff back to us

00:26:40.940 so we can cover

00:26:41.540 it as we're

00:26:43.180 going along.

00:26:43.860 Thanks so much.

00:26:44.780 Absolutely.

00:26:46.180 Okay, Jason is

00:26:47.700 down there for the

00:26:49.980 Glenn Beck program

00:26:50.800 covering it, but

00:26:51.680 Team Rumicon and

00:26:53.500 Mercury One are

00:26:55.500 down, and I want

00:26:57.040 to tell you a

00:26:57.620 little bit about

00:26:58.360 this little

00:26:58.900 organization that

00:26:59.680 we started when

00:27:00.660 I left Fox, and

00:27:01.740 it was called

00:27:02.400 Mercury One, and

00:27:04.180 the idea behind

00:27:05.280 it is twofold.

00:27:07.220 If we want the

00:27:08.080 government to do

00:27:09.080 less, then we

00:27:10.360 have to do more

00:27:11.460 as individuals.

00:27:13.360 And the other

00:27:14.340 comes from

00:27:15.960 Abraham Lincoln's

00:27:17.480 second inaugural

00:27:18.500 address, with

00:27:20.560 malice toward none

00:27:21.640 and charity for

00:27:22.800 all.

00:27:24.060 We can't close

00:27:25.240 our hearts on

00:27:26.320 anyone, especially

00:27:28.080 because of the

00:27:28.580 way they voted.

00:27:30.880 And keeping our

00:27:32.060 hearts soft will

00:27:33.800 help us.

00:27:35.520 So I didn't want

00:27:37.300 to do a, I

00:27:39.200 don't want to be

00:27:40.040 a, I can't, I

00:27:41.440 can barely run my

00:27:42.340 own life, let

00:27:43.240 alone a big, huge

00:27:44.060 service organization.

00:27:45.760 So we started

00:27:46.840 this, and we were

00:27:48.140 asking, let's find

00:27:49.500 the people who want

00:27:50.360 to stand up in

00:27:50.920 their own communities

00:27:51.640 and let's help

00:27:52.700 enforce them.

00:27:53.980 Let's help give

00:27:54.720 them the supplies.

00:27:55.980 So I want to tell

00:27:56.540 you who we've

00:27:57.140 partnered with, and

00:27:58.060 where your money

00:27:59.580 is going, and

00:28:00.300 100% of the money

00:28:02.600 that is raised, 100%

00:28:05.520 goes to the places

00:28:07.300 that you earmark.

00:28:08.860 So if you come in

00:28:09.980 and you say, I

00:28:10.520 want it to go to

00:28:11.180 the hurricane, then

00:28:12.660 100% of that money

00:28:14.140 will go to the

00:28:14.960 hurricane.

00:28:16.640 These are the

00:28:17.360 people we've

00:28:17.820 partnered with, and

00:28:18.760 this is what we've

00:28:19.580 been doing for the

00:28:20.920 last five days.

00:28:22.660 Operation Barbecue

00:28:23.700 is now staging in

00:28:25.300 Spring, Texas, because

00:28:26.700 I-45 was closed

00:28:27.860 down.

00:28:28.160 They are moving to

00:28:29.400 Houston to the

00:28:30.220 convention center

00:28:30.980 today.

00:28:31.740 They are going to

00:28:32.540 cook Wednesdays,

00:28:33.560 lunch, and dinner.

00:28:35.180 They're ramping up

00:28:36.280 to serve 25,000

00:28:38.320 people a day by

00:28:42.080 Friday for the

00:28:44.500 shelter at the

00:28:45.300 convention center, as

00:28:46.440 well as the first

00:28:47.240 responders.

00:28:48.400 Operation Barbecue,

00:28:49.600 these people that we

00:28:50.440 found a few years

00:28:51.220 ago, and they are

00:28:52.240 remarkable.

00:28:54.160 They come in with 1.00

00:28:54.940 all this beef, and

00:28:56.600 they just start

00:28:57.160 cooking meals.

00:28:58.160 25,000, these will

00:28:59.540 be the guys who are

00:29:00.480 providing the food at

00:29:01.740 the convention center

00:29:02.600 in Houston by

00:29:04.020 Friday.

00:29:04.500 They start today.

00:29:06.200 We currently have the

00:29:07.100 capacity to feed 20,000

00:29:08.800 meals per day, but we're

00:29:09.820 going to need to do

00:29:10.360 more, and this is a

00:29:11.400 Mercury One project, and

00:29:12.680 we ask you to please

00:29:14.200 donate at

00:29:14.700 mercuryone.org.

00:29:16.280 Also, Team Rubicon,

00:29:17.900 these are the boat

00:29:18.540 crews that are out.

00:29:19.520 They are sending in 0.98

00:29:22.200 crews right now in

00:29:24.700 multiple cities

00:29:25.620 throughout the coast,

00:29:26.600 and once the flood

00:29:28.440 waters go down, they

00:29:29.860 are going to stay

00:29:30.460 there, and they're

00:29:31.580 going to help with

00:29:32.120 the cleanup.

00:29:33.180 We have City Impact.

00:29:34.640 These are church

00:29:35.300 partners that are

00:29:36.120 ready to deliver

00:29:36.880 meals from Corpus

00:29:38.400 Christi, Padre

00:29:39.260 Island, Rockport,

00:29:40.580 Angleton, Rosenberg,

00:29:41.860 Houston, Baytown.

00:29:43.700 On Friday, I got a

00:29:45.860 note that we had three

00:29:47.140 tractor trailers that

00:29:48.240 were already loaded,

00:29:49.520 uh, we have four

00:29:50.960 more, they're already

00:29:51.560 gone, four more

00:29:52.480 ready to go, um, they

00:29:54.200 are going to be

00:29:54.740 serving through, uh,

00:29:56.640 long-term, uh, serving

00:29:59.020 through faith

00:29:59.840 partners, um, and

00:30:01.640 there are going to

00:30:02.000 be six mass

00:30:03.200 distribution sites in

00:30:04.360 the area.

00:30:05.400 Um, somebody cares.

00:30:07.720 There's a team that

00:30:08.480 drove down from San

00:30:09.640 Antonio to Corpus

00:30:10.460 Christi on Saturday.

00:30:11.700 They're basing all

00:30:12.780 their operations at

00:30:13.600 Journey Church.

00:30:14.760 Um, they are, uh,

00:30:16.520 going through, uh,

00:30:17.600 Victoria and Rockport

00:30:18.860 as well.

00:30:19.400 They have a mobile

00:30:20.080 kitchen and they

00:30:21.540 are, they began

00:30:22.660 serving hot meals on

00:30:24.140 Sunday, gleaning the

00:30:25.900 world, already dispatched

00:30:27.580 four tractor trailer

00:30:28.760 loads of water, 16

00:30:30.880 loads of blankets.

00:30:33.180 We are, um, currently

00:30:34.960 in transit with

00:30:36.680 additional water, baby

00:30:38.000 products, personal care,

00:30:39.400 personal care products,

00:30:40.400 um, and, um, uh, and

00:30:43.620 other things that people

00:30:44.640 need, you know, um,

00:30:46.280 when they find

00:30:47.040 themselves out of a

00:30:48.280 house.

00:30:48.840 And then the

00:30:49.740 provisions project, this

00:30:51.480 is search and rescue.

00:30:53.800 Um, they are helping

00:30:56.080 assist them in fuel,

00:30:58.160 equipment, and meals.

00:30:59.440 They are sending the fuel, the

00:31:02.340 equipment, and the meals.

00:31:03.660 They have over a hundred

00:31:04.800 volunteers and 40 boats

00:31:06.640 that are at the ready with

00:31:07.620 local emergency officials.

00:31:09.320 Um, they're working with the

00:31:10.620 sheriff's department, uh, and

00:31:12.580 provisions project plans to be

00:31:14.220 part of the long-term rebuild

00:31:15.420 efforts, uh, as well.

00:31:17.060 This is where your money is

00:31:19.300 going.

00:31:20.000 These are partners that we

00:31:21.060 have partnered with for a

00:31:22.060 long time.

00:31:23.140 We look for the people who

00:31:24.860 are doing it the most

00:31:26.020 efficiently, getting the most

00:31:28.280 amount of money directly to

00:31:30.320 the people or the project that

00:31:32.180 you want to donate to.

00:31:34.920 Please go to mercuryone.org.

00:31:37.780 Yesterday we raised, um,

00:31:39.800 $200,000, but we need to do

00:31:43.320 a lot better than that.

00:31:44.940 Um, but if you would like to

00:31:47.560 be involved, please find a

00:31:49.800 way for your family to be

00:31:51.860 involved.

00:31:52.920 Go door-to-door with your, uh,

00:31:54.880 you know, to your neighbors

00:31:55.940 and ask them to get involved.

00:31:57.640 Uh, have your kids sell, you

00:32:00.320 know, cookies in the

00:32:01.200 neighborhood or whatever, um,

00:32:03.060 to try to raise some funds,

00:32:04.460 get your family involved, and

00:32:06.420 anything that you can do, even

00:32:07.940 if it is just prayer, we sure

00:32:09.640 would appreciate it.

00:32:10.760 It's mercuryone.org and our

00:32:13.660 disaster relief.

00:32:15.380 We have more on that and

00:32:17.000 something really, I think,

00:32:19.580 really exciting, um, to tell

00:32:22.160 you about coming up in just a

00:32:23.540 few minutes, um, and we'll do

00:32:25.480 that.

00:32:25.860 Stand by.

00:32:27.840 Also, we need to tell you about

00:32:29.120 our sponsor this half hour.

00:32:30.420 Our sponsor is Delta Defense.

00:32:34.020 I remember, remember when we were

00:32:36.140 in Philadelphia and we all took

00:32:37.960 lessons, shooting lessons, and we

00:32:41.140 all were learning how to, you

00:32:42.300 know, carry a gun, and, uh, and

00:32:46.380 one of the first things that you

00:32:47.800 learn is call 9-1-1, leave the

00:32:51.680 line open, and speak loudly about

00:32:55.440 what's going on.

00:32:56.140 This is the Northeast.

00:32:56.940 Speak loudly about what's going

00:32:58.500 on.

00:32:58.800 Say, look, somebody's in my house.

00:33:00.200 I'm afraid for my life.

00:33:01.480 The children and everybody is

00:33:02.700 here.

00:33:03.400 And then, you know, put the phone

00:33:05.300 down or hang on to the phone.

00:33:06.440 But, you know, when you're, if

00:33:08.120 you're, if that person is

00:33:09.240 approaching you, make sure you're

00:33:10.720 saying, I fear for my life. 1.00

00:33:12.700 Stop or I'll shoot. 0.79

00:33:14.240 Make sure 9-1-1 has that on

00:33:16.060 record.

00:33:16.920 Why?

00:33:18.480 Because, especially in the

00:33:20.540 Northeast, you're toast. 0.98

00:33:22.300 You shoot an intruder in your 0.99

00:33:23.500 house, you're toast.

00:33:25.940 Who's protecting you after you've

00:33:28.540 protected the kids?

00:33:30.080 That's where Delta Defense comes

00:33:31.600 in.

00:33:32.400 I want you to go to

00:33:32.880 protectanddefend.com and look at

00:33:35.640 their coverage.

00:33:36.440 That starts for only $13 a

00:33:39.000 month.

00:33:39.900 What they do is they, they

00:33:42.020 give you 100% upfront coverage

00:33:44.300 for criminal defense, the civil

00:33:45.920 suit, bail funding.

00:33:47.620 They have 24-7 critical response

00:33:49.960 team.

00:33:50.420 They have local attorney

00:33:51.760 coordination and so much more.

00:33:53.800 So the minute you have fired the

00:33:56.900 gun, God forbid that's happened to

00:34:00.480 you or will happen to you.

00:34:01.720 But if it does, you can rest

00:34:03.960 assured somebody is going to be on

00:34:05.640 your side and saying, okay, here in

00:34:07.760 your town, in your state, here's

00:34:09.840 what you have to do.

00:34:11.180 And they help you.

00:34:13.000 It'll destroy your life if you

00:34:14.820 don't have this insurance.

00:34:15.840 We have fire insurance and hope we

00:34:17.100 never use it.

00:34:18.240 This is a different kind of

00:34:19.240 insurance and it's $13 a month.

00:34:20.900 Activate your membership today at

00:34:25.500 You'll also be entered to win a

00:34:26.600 brand new gun of your choice.

00:34:29.320 Protectanddefend.com.

00:34:30.680 Glenn Beck Program.

00:34:33.800 888-727-BECK.

00:34:36.380 Mercury.

00:34:39.760 This is the Glenn Beck Program.

00:34:42.540 So I don't know what is wrong with

00:34:44.480 people, honestly.

00:34:46.000 You know, life is pretty easy.

00:34:47.260 People are complex.

00:34:49.220 Joel Osteen and his church are now in

00:34:54.440 this controversy that is really, truly

00:34:56.820 not a controversy.

00:34:59.080 They're saying that Lakewood has

00:35:01.400 closed its doors and they weren't

00:35:02.920 going to help and look how big his

00:35:04.460 house is and he wouldn't help.

00:35:06.360 That is not the truth at all.

00:35:10.280 At all.

00:35:12.600 Lakewood does not have showers.

00:35:14.500 They don't have all the kitchens.

00:35:15.860 They don't have everything that a big,

00:35:17.820 you know, shelter would have.

00:35:20.740 They don't, they're not made to be a

00:35:22.840 shelter.

00:35:23.380 It is the compact center.

00:35:24.660 But the compact center also has, and

00:35:26.800 Pat, verify this if you know, has a

00:35:29.420 history of flooding.

00:35:30.640 When the rockets were playing there,

00:35:32.600 when Allison came through, the court

00:35:35.140 was four feet underwater.

00:35:37.500 Now they have storm walls, but those

00:35:40.240 storm walls are one foot at this point,

00:35:42.960 a foot from being overtaken.

00:35:45.820 So if you look at pictures in some of

00:35:49.380 the lower areas and there's already

00:35:51.100 water.

00:35:51.460 Now you can get people to the second

00:35:53.420 floor and everything's going to be

00:35:55.440 fine and they've set up air mattresses

00:35:57.940 and everything else, but the convention

00:36:00.800 center is the place that the city and

00:36:03.600 the state has said, go to the convention

00:36:05.220 center.

00:36:05.640 The George R. Brown Center is massive.

00:36:08.180 Right.

00:36:08.560 Why would you not do it there?

00:36:09.760 Correct.

00:36:10.120 And they are doing it there.

00:36:11.240 And while Joel's people were on the phone

00:36:14.180 with the city, they were coordinating

00:36:17.000 and saying, okay, how are you doing on

00:36:19.860 people?

00:36:20.240 We are prepared to take some, just know

00:36:22.440 our capabilities.

00:36:23.640 We don't have showers.

00:36:24.780 It's not a long-term place.

00:36:26.180 This is not a place where people can just

00:36:28.240 live for a while, but we can get them out

00:36:31.460 of danger.

00:36:32.060 But we also have the problem of flooding.

00:36:34.560 We're about a foot away from the bottom

00:36:38.840 level being flooded.

00:36:41.760 As they're saying this and the convention

00:36:44.240 center and the city are saying, don't

00:36:46.040 worry about it.

00:36:46.780 We'll just keep you as a secondary 0.64

00:36:48.240 shelter.

00:36:48.820 We don't have need for you at this time.

00:36:52.100 People go online and they start ripping

00:36:54.200 Joel and his family and his church.

00:36:57.480 It's really awful.

00:36:58.420 It's awful.

00:36:59.260 It's really awful.

00:36:59.780 And people, don't you have anything else

00:37:03.300 better to do?

00:37:04.180 Why don't you look for positive things

00:37:06.840 that you can do instead of constantly

00:37:09.520 searching for the negative everywhere?

00:37:13.200 This is the Glenn Beck program.

00:37:17.480 Mercury.

00:37:31.460 Hello and welcome to the program.

00:37:33.520 We have some actually really good things

00:37:37.280 to report today because I think America

00:37:39.920 is focused on the things that actually

00:37:42.640 matter and actually are reflective of

00:37:45.780 who we are.

00:37:46.940 And that is Americans.

00:37:48.460 When times get tough, we stand up.

00:37:51.400 And that's exactly what we're seeing.

00:37:53.480 And if your media source is not showing

00:37:56.100 you that and concentrating on that,

00:37:59.380 it's time you find a new media source.

00:38:01.860 We begin there right now.

00:38:03.520 I will make a stand.

00:38:06.220 I will raise my voice.

00:38:08.480 I will hold your hand.

00:38:10.920 Because we are one.

00:38:12.740 I will beat my drum.

00:38:14.960 I have made my choice.

00:38:17.180 We will overcome.

00:38:19.520 Because we are one.

00:38:21.460 The fusion of entertainment and enlightenment.

00:38:24.500 This is the Glenn Beck program.

00:38:29.040 Where were you when we gathered on the mall on 828?

00:38:37.480 The anniversary was yesterday.

00:38:40.020 When we got together to restore honor.

00:38:42.680 When we stood shoulder to shoulder and swore to each other we would be better than we thought

00:38:47.740 we could be.

00:38:48.560 That we would rise above the petty politics and be more like the giants of our common heritage.

00:38:54.520 Where were you when, if you remember right, Al Sharpton and the Black Panthers marched directly into that crowd on the mall.

00:39:04.880 They were trying to get us to lash out and we showed them love and peace and they didn't know how to respond.

00:39:11.920 They just left.

00:39:16.080 Darkness doesn't understand the light.

00:39:18.820 That's what's happening.

00:39:22.920 This is who we left there with the mall being cleaner than when we found it.

00:39:29.700 And when, for those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, I'm talking about 828 when we went to restore honor on the mall.

00:39:36.500 Not the mall where you're buying clothes, but the mall in Washington, D.C.

00:39:41.220 At the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

00:39:43.100 This is really who we are.

00:39:47.240 And we're seeing it in this hurricane right now.

00:39:51.460 It's what America has always wanted to be.

00:39:54.800 A light unto the world.

00:39:56.520 A beacon.

00:39:57.700 A shining city on the hill.

00:40:01.480 You know, this weekend I was looking at some old pictures of where we've been since then.

00:40:08.040 Then we went to 828 and we were in Washington, D.C. restoring honor.

00:40:14.280 Then the next year we went to Jerusalem on 826 and we decided that we were going to restore courage to ourselves.

00:40:23.180 All building to what are the fundamental building blocks that will make us stand when the winds finally come.

00:40:28.960 The year after that, I think on 824, I can't remember the exact date, we went to Dallas Cowboys Stadium and we did restoring love.

00:40:41.320 And then in Birmingham, again on 828, we restored unity.

00:40:47.620 And all of these were ahead of their time.

00:40:50.840 When we were in Birmingham, just two years ago, thousands of us marched on the same streets that the giants like Martin Luther King walked during the Civil Rights March.

00:41:04.260 And I'll never forget, so many people around me said, Glenn, why are we doing this?

00:41:07.740 Why are we signing the Martin Luther King pledge?

00:41:10.180 And I said, because a storm is coming.

00:41:13.520 Because there's going to come a time when we're going to need this discipline.

00:41:17.400 And we took his pledge.

00:41:18.820 I have it.

00:41:20.560 I have it signed by about 30,000 people that were there.

00:41:25.060 We renewed our vow on the mall in Washington, D.C.

00:41:30.280 And on that day, we began to chart a course for standing for the weakest among us.

00:41:35.920 Those targeted for slavery and execution in the Middle East.

00:41:42.500 Yesterday was the anniversary of that two-year goal.

00:41:47.200 And if you remember right, that two-year goal started out small.

00:41:50.880 I think we wanted to save 100 families.

00:41:54.840 I want to take just a minute here and look back on what happened just by a group of people gathering together in Birmingham and saying,

00:42:04.760 I want to help.

00:42:07.360 There are few places on earth where Christianity is as old as it is in Iraq.

00:42:16.040 Christians there trace their history to the first century apostles.

00:42:20.120 But today, their existence has been threatened by the terrorist group that calls itself Islamic State.

00:42:27.360 The place where my father works was so dangerous, so we have to move because ISIS take our houses and our village.

00:42:37.280 More than 125,000 Christians, men, women, and children, have been forced from their homes over the past year.

00:42:45.080 Daesh is responsible for genocide against groups.

00:42:48.820 The latest ISIS video delivered a direct threat to Christians in the Middle East. 0.85

00:42:53.940 You will not have safety, even in your dreams, until you embrace Islam. 1.00

00:42:58.500 Then, militants carried out what appears to be a mass execution, shooting some captives and beheading others.

00:43:07.060 Tens of thousands of Christians are now fleeing for their lives.

00:43:10.380 The largest Christian city now seized by ISIS militants.

00:43:13.400 Attacks on Christians by radical Muslims are spreading.

00:43:16.280 If the world doesn't do anything, Christians will not exist in the Middle East. 1.00

00:43:20.700 They will be liquidated. 0.93

00:43:23.940 Enough is enough.

00:43:26.580 I give you my word, we will raise a million dollars to help you and get these people out.

00:43:32.660 Let's raise a million dollars.

00:43:34.540 We have raised a million dollars.

00:43:37.440 Let's see if we can raise another million dollars here in the next couple of weeks and see if we can get 80 families.

00:43:43.580 Breaking news, tell us where you just got back from what you just did.

00:43:46.220 I just got back from Iraq.

00:43:48.880 I was in Iraq, Slovakia and Sweden.

00:43:52.460 And we are trying to bring Iraqi Christians out of the Middle East with something called the Nazarene Fund. 0.93

00:43:58.280 We've raised 12 million dollars to do it.

00:44:02.320 Just about a year ago, we're not even at the year mark of starting the Nazarene Fund.

00:44:06.900 And I said, in the next year, we want to save 400 families.

00:44:10.980 And even with all of the trouble that we have had, we have moved to safety 553 families.

00:44:19.560 Families.

00:44:20.040 Not people.

00:44:20.640 Families.

00:44:21.360 Wow, that's crazy.

00:44:22.400 We have moved or fed 11,455.

00:44:28.780 What I think is interesting is you've gone over, you went over there, you took matters into your own hands, you didn't wait for government, you got private donations, you swooped in.

00:44:35.360 I represent about 120,000 people in America that have literally saved their pennies and dollars, sold their rings to be able to pay for your trip out tomorrow.

00:44:51.440 Thank you forever. Great thanks to you. If you help this family to go to the safe place, God bless you.

00:45:01.560 I'm going to tell the Americans that they helped save lives and I'm very grateful.

00:45:07.680 Thanks for everyone who works on this because they know that we need help. So thank you so much.

00:45:15.320 All of the hard-earned money that you gave, all of the prayers that you said, lifted up to God for these people, nothing was wasted.

00:45:24.240 And this is not easy for us. But I believe our people, they are not going to forget who stand with us, such as you.

00:45:31.060 Two years of life-saving work has changed the course of history.

00:45:38.720 Since first announced on August 28, 2015, Mercury One has raised $17.5 million.

00:45:46.740 We've delivered emergency humanitarian aid, including food, water, blankets, hygiene kits to 35,000 people.

00:45:54.220 We have housed 5,462 people. We've closed down four Christian and Yazidi refugee camps and moved them to safe locations. 0.81

00:46:04.600 7,602 Christian and Yazidi conflict refugees have now been screened, processed, transported, and resettled in new host countries

00:46:14.920 like Australia, Canada, Slovakia, Brazil, France, and one in the United States, with an additional 1,700 pending evacuations.

00:46:26.400 All of this has happened because of you. People are alive. They're free. They're able to serve their God openly and safely because of you.

00:46:38.120 But know this. Our mission has just started.

00:46:42.940 The week of September 17, 2017, Mercury One will announce a new phase of this mission.

00:46:50.760 One that is even bolder and more miraculous than what you have helped already accomplish.

00:46:56.540 Join us. Join us in changing the world.

00:47:00.360 Get involved. Save a life.

00:47:03.240 And make a difference.

00:47:04.660 MercuryOne.org

00:47:06.500 Slash the Nazarene Fund

00:47:08.800 Thank you.

00:47:16.140 You make such a difference in the world.

00:47:20.700 You have no idea what you've done.

00:47:28.000 And as I just said in that, coming in two weeks, I'm going to announce something that is

00:47:33.860 Breathtaking.

00:47:39.700 Because the need is

00:47:42.640 Breathtaking.

00:47:48.200 Today, Mercury One is in Houston.

00:47:53.640 And the need there is breathtaking.

00:47:57.560 But the good news is, Americans are still Americans.

00:48:06.100 No matter what we've been through in the last two years.

00:48:09.080 No matter what we've thought about each other over the last two years.

00:48:13.980 Last five years. Last ten years.

00:48:17.160 Last two weeks.

00:48:18.020 All of it is a lie.

00:48:21.380 All of it is a lie.

00:48:23.280 Look at who we're choosing to be today as people here in America are in need.

00:48:31.620 Please get involved.

00:48:33.160 You can go to MercuryOne.org.

00:48:36.460 If you, you know, trust us with the money to put it to whatever the needs are, just donate it to the regular general fund.

00:48:45.100 If you want to make sure that every dollar goes to the Nazarene Fund, just make sure you just click on the Nazarene Fund.

00:48:51.200 If you want it just for the rescue in Houston, just click on that.

00:48:56.120 We promise you, every dollar goes to the programs.

00:49:00.680 It goes to the people.

00:49:02.640 Every dollar that we're raising right now for the rescue relief.

00:49:05.780 I told you last hour where they go.

00:49:08.120 We're already on the food, on the front line.

00:49:10.760 In fact, the organization that we are helping fund is going to be the main source of food for 25,000 people at the convention center.

00:49:19.920 And that's coming from you and Mercury One.

00:49:22.600 And there's no skim off the top for Mercury One.

00:49:28.720 That's been my promise to you because I know how I feel when somebody asks me for money.

00:49:37.200 Yeah, but what are you really doing with the money?

00:49:39.660 There's no skim off the top for us.

00:49:42.740 If you go to the disaster relief, it will go to those projects, period.

00:49:48.560 Not a dime comes to us.

00:49:49.860 We have to be able to trust one another.

00:49:53.460 We have to be able to do the right thing and not be trapped in a whole bunch of lies that makes us want to close our hearts.

00:50:03.360 Go to mercuryone.org right now.

00:50:06.740 Mercuryone.org.

00:50:07.880 More in just a second.

00:50:09.000 Our sponsor this half hour is Goldline.

00:50:11.700 A discussion of Europeans, the quantitative easing has been pushed to next month.

00:50:17.660 They were just meeting at the Jackson Hole Economics Policy Symposium that was over the weekend.

00:50:24.820 And the head of the European Central Bank said, we're going to talk about that a little later.

00:50:31.040 Why?

00:50:32.480 Why?

00:50:34.760 Because they are full speed ahead into uncharted, unknown waters right now.

00:50:42.660 And they don't know what happens if they turn the boats around.

00:50:46.020 That's why.

00:50:47.420 And we are headed for, did you see that North Korea just launched another missile?

00:50:52.160 This time they launched it over Japan.

00:50:55.620 Trump said this morning, we haven't decided, but we will be responding to that.

00:51:01.420 That this is, the world is on the edge.

00:51:05.320 And we can either sit here and worry about it, or we can prepare.

00:51:09.660 And then, when it happens, we'll do what we're doing in Houston right now.

00:51:13.760 Stand together and help each other out.

00:51:16.560 But somebody has to have something that is worth something in the end.

00:51:20.760 Please call Goldline and find out about the price protection program that they have going on right now.

00:51:26.980 There's nobody else that does this.

00:51:28.580 Imagine if I said to you, hey, you could buy this stock, and if it's not worth the amount that I said to you, that you paid a year ago, if it goes down, I'll replace it with more stock.

00:51:42.260 You'd go, yeah, well, good, more paper.

00:51:44.080 No, no, no.

00:51:45.840 I'm not talking about stock.

00:51:47.460 I'm not talking about gold.

00:51:49.200 Gold never goes to zero.

00:51:51.320 So, if the price of gold goes down over the next year, they'll make it up with more gold.

00:51:58.220 It never goes to zero.

00:52:00.880 Nobody does that.

00:52:02.860 Goldline does.

00:52:04.740 They know the trouble the world is in, and they know what your fears are.

00:52:10.240 And they have confidence in treating people right means that they'll be in business for a very, very long time, and we can save the nation.

00:52:20.040 Call Goldline now.

00:52:21.540 Find out if it's right for you.

00:52:23.180 Read their important risk information.

00:52:31.160 This is the Glenn Beck Program.

00:52:34.780 Mercury.

00:52:37.500 The Glenn Beck Program.

00:52:39.880 We are in the middle of a huge disaster in America, and people are struggling, and people are hurting.

00:52:46.220 Millions of people are praying for their fellow Americans.

00:52:49.880 Even though some of them are not exactly, quote, the praying type, I'm seeing people that are praying.

00:52:56.420 If we who want a small government want our government to do less, then that means we have to do more.

00:53:05.560 And if you don't mind the government doing most, if not all, of the work, you know, cool, I don't agree with you.

00:53:12.800 But instead of arguing, what do you say you still get involved?

00:53:17.900 Even if it's just prayer or, you know, meditation or, you know, finding something that we're going to go save the animals, and I'm not joking about that.

00:53:28.500 I mean, get involved in the thing that inspires you.

00:53:36.200 Believe it or not, it's going to make you feel better.

00:53:40.340 It's going to make you feel better about yourself, and it's going to make you feel much better about America.

00:53:47.620 And I think we all need a little medicine for our hearts right now.

00:53:50.960 We've been given a great opportunity to heal our hearts right now, and to see each other for who we are.

00:54:00.860 Because we are all Americans. We're all the same. We really are.

00:54:04.240 No matter who we vote for, 90% of us want to do good.

00:54:08.760 90% of us want to help.

00:54:10.760 90% of us don't like hating our neighbor.

00:54:14.320 And with or without Donald Trump, with or without Hillary Clinton, with or without any of these people,

00:54:23.880 here's the chance to make America great again.

00:54:27.220 By making America what has always made it great, is it was good.

00:54:34.180 Let's make America good again.

00:54:36.960 Let's make America kind again.

00:54:39.180 And our goodness and our kindness is happening in spite of our politicians and our political parties.

00:54:52.060 During Sandy, I remember we raised millions of dollars to help with Hurricane Sandy.

00:55:00.060 And in fact, Mercury One, I believe, was one of the first on the ground for Hurricane Sandy.

00:55:05.520 And we helped white churches. We helped black churches, small businessmen.

00:55:11.460 We helped union labor shops.

00:55:13.960 I remember we helped the police get back on their feet.

00:55:19.400 And this police union, or I can't remember exactly what it was,

00:55:24.340 but this group of people actually, they had a thing where they were trying to get me fired from my job.

00:55:30.880 And I didn't know this, and they didn't know who we were until after we had presented them with checks,

00:55:38.260 and they had done their homework on who Mercury One was.

00:55:40.440 And they were like, Glenn Beck, we're shocked that it was from you.

00:55:47.280 And we have to tell our members.

00:55:49.080 And I said, no, you don't need to tell your members.

00:55:51.820 This isn't from me.

00:55:53.020 This is from the American people.

00:55:54.620 And we're not picking and choosing who we're helping.

00:55:58.600 We're just helping those people who are hurting.

00:56:01.920 You happen to be one of them.

00:56:04.760 We went up and we had this truck, and our people left.

00:56:08.440 And we were in front of this church, and it was a black church,

00:56:10.480 and we were unloading the food, and we had gone in.

00:56:13.860 And some Occupy Wall Street people came

00:56:16.100 and actually hung Occupy Wall Street banners on the truck

00:56:19.760 and were taking video, making it look like

00:56:23.100 they were offloading all of this food.

00:56:28.820 Somebody on my team came out, and they were really upset,

00:56:32.160 and said, relax, relax.

00:56:35.360 We didn't have to say anything,

00:56:37.260 because the church that would have fallen prey to Occupy Wall Street,

00:56:41.740 I think, because if they would have offered anything,

00:56:45.420 they were so embarrassed by, quote, their side.

00:56:48.660 It wasn't their side.

00:56:51.080 That's not their side.

00:56:51.860 That's not who they were.

00:56:53.240 But that's who the media and everybody else

00:56:55.320 would have deemed their side.

00:56:56.920 They were so embarrassed by those people,

00:56:58.620 they shooed them away, took the banners down,

00:57:01.700 and then went on local television that night

00:57:04.740 and made sure that everybody knew

00:57:06.820 that it was Mercury One that did this.

00:57:13.100 If we just go in and we serve,

00:57:15.880 not for the credit,

00:57:19.240 not for anything,

00:57:20.480 but just because we love people,

00:57:23.340 it's amazing how hearts change.

00:57:27.700 That is where we are today in Texas.

00:57:32.760 Revel in that.

00:57:34.500 Renew your heart and get involved.

00:57:36.860 MercuryOne.org.

00:57:38.380 We are one.

00:57:41.000 The Glenn Beck Program.

00:57:42.680 MercuryOne.

00:57:43.880 MercuryOne.

00:57:47.880 The Glenn Beck Program.

00:57:52.960 So what's happening with Joel Olsteen in Houston

00:57:56.820 is really despicable.

00:57:58.980 And you know what?

00:58:00.480 We just have to reject all of this stuff.

00:58:02.800 I got onto Facebook, I think it was on Saturday,

00:58:05.600 and we were talking about the different things

00:58:07.180 that are going on,

00:58:07.920 and people started saying,

00:58:10.640 oh, that's because of Donald Trump.

00:58:12.280 That's because of...

00:58:14.120 Do you...

00:58:14.740 Do you...

00:58:15.400 I know I'm not alone.

00:58:17.240 I know I'm not alone.

00:58:19.760 Is anybody else like,

00:58:21.400 what do you have anything else to do with your time?

00:58:25.040 Yeah.

00:58:25.180 Do you realize how much trouble

00:58:27.280 the country is in?

00:58:28.880 Do you realize people

00:58:29.720 are actually fighting for their life

00:58:32.400 to survive today?

00:58:35.000 And you're...

00:58:36.000 I was watching the press over the weekend,

00:58:38.300 and they were making it all about

00:58:39.500 Donald Trump's tweets. 1.00

00:58:41.460 Shut the hell up. 1.00

00:58:43.420 Shut up. 1.00

00:58:45.100 The people who were making it about 1.00

00:58:47.040 all of the...

00:58:48.120 the Eastern press

00:58:50.640 that was, you know,

00:58:51.820 Ted Cruz

00:58:53.220 wanted to not give any funding for Sandy.

00:58:56.560 First of all,

00:58:57.420 not true.

00:58:58.460 not true.

00:59:00.140 You're reading your own headlines 1.00

00:59:01.900 and buying your own crap. 1.00

00:59:03.940 That's not what that was. 1.00

00:59:05.460 That was pork central.

00:59:08.800 But I read that,

00:59:10.020 and I thought,

00:59:10.460 are you kidding me?

00:59:11.440 You can't wait until,

00:59:12.660 I don't know,

00:59:13.440 until the waters subside?

00:59:15.900 You can't wait until people

00:59:17.180 are actually into safety?

00:59:19.440 We're making this about politics now?

00:59:24.240 Yeah, I mean,

00:59:25.080 that's the only game in town now,

00:59:27.000 is making everything into politics.

00:59:29.380 Every tragedy that strikes,

00:59:31.540 the first knee-jerk reaction

00:59:33.240 is to, you know,

00:59:34.320 blame it on somebody politically.

00:59:35.860 But doesn't it feel good

00:59:37.100 that at least here in Texas,

00:59:39.220 I don't know what it feels like

00:59:40.120 in the rest of the country,

00:59:41.240 but at least here in Texas,

00:59:42.320 that's not going on.

00:59:43.960 That's not happening.

00:59:44.900 Yeah.

00:59:45.440 Nobody is...

00:59:46.160 Nobody is...

00:59:46.780 Nobody is getting your

00:59:47.960 voter ID card out,

00:59:49.840 and nobody's saying,

00:59:51.240 hey, I know you're in distress,

00:59:52.500 and you need some help,

00:59:53.700 but are you black or white?

00:59:56.280 Nobody's saying that.

00:59:57.120 Nobody's saying that.

00:59:57.140 It does not occur.

00:59:57.880 That doesn't happen.

00:59:59.380 You notice that Houston,

01:00:01.720 isn't Houston the most

01:00:04.000 diverse city in the country?

01:00:07.380 I think it is.

01:00:08.940 Irving is.

01:00:09.620 Irving is the most diverse,

01:00:10.980 but I think it's...

01:00:11.820 I think Houston is the largest

01:00:13.840 in diversity.

01:00:16.380 White isn't even the main 0.99

01:00:18.540 portion of the population now

01:00:20.480 in Houston, is it? 1.00

01:00:21.120 I hate white people. 1.00

01:00:22.600 I mean, every iota of a cracker, 1.00

01:00:24.820 I hate white people. 1.00

01:00:26.160 Anyway. 1.00

01:00:26.560 That's how I feel.

01:00:27.060 But you notice you're not...

01:00:27.980 You're not seeing any race strife.

01:00:31.040 No, I mean, you're getting

01:00:32.460 the typical people

01:00:35.180 doing the typical things

01:00:36.080 with politics.

01:00:36.280 But that's the typical people.

01:00:37.700 Right.

01:00:37.980 Like, there is a story today.

01:00:40.380 You want to know

01:00:41.380 what climate change looks like?

01:00:43.200 Hurricane Harvey.

01:00:44.600 So we're clear.

01:00:46.060 Climate change looks like 0.64

01:00:47.200 the last two days,

01:00:48.240 not the last 12 years,

01:00:49.440 where there was no

01:00:50.060 major hurricanes that hit.

01:00:51.120 It's the last two days

01:00:52.500 is what climate change looks like.

01:00:54.100 But the 12 years

01:00:55.540 of no storms

01:00:57.120 hitting America

01:00:58.100 that were major hurricanes,

01:01:00.440 that is not what it looks like.

01:01:01.760 I could...

01:01:02.360 It just could be me,

01:01:04.280 but I don't think

01:01:05.560 anyone is paying attention

01:01:07.440 to any of that stuff anymore.

01:01:09.220 I hope that's...

01:01:09.780 I really hope that's true.

01:01:11.020 I mean,

01:01:11.460 do you know anybody who is...

01:01:13.780 I mean,

01:01:14.040 the people that are

01:01:15.140 all up in arms

01:01:16.300 and are making this political

01:01:17.840 one way or another,

01:01:20.220 do you know

01:01:20.980 any of your friends

01:01:21.800 who are actually listening

01:01:22.760 or talking to those people?

01:01:24.920 Because I don't.

01:01:25.820 I don't know anybody.

01:01:27.020 Now, it may be different

01:01:27.800 because we're in Texas.

01:01:29.160 Everyone I know

01:01:30.100 is so taken

01:01:32.360 by the spirit

01:01:34.020 of the people

01:01:34.820 that are involved.

01:01:35.840 Look,

01:01:36.040 we're going to get there.

01:01:37.840 Oh, yeah, we are.

01:01:38.560 The country

01:01:39.200 and Texas

01:01:40.080 is going to get there.

01:01:41.220 This will turn into politics.

01:01:42.600 Oh, yeah, it will.

01:01:43.060 So far,

01:01:43.760 at least my impression is,

01:01:45.420 only the real crazies

01:01:48.300 have gone to that route so far.

01:01:50.560 I mean,

01:01:51.120 it's too soon.

01:01:51.560 It's still going on.

01:01:52.320 There's still rain falling.

01:01:53.440 Yeah.

01:01:53.720 No, I mean,

01:01:54.140 we're going to get...

01:01:54.680 We did it after September 11th.

01:01:56.060 We were good for a while

01:01:57.020 and then we went back

01:01:57.900 to where we were

01:01:58.500 and that's going to happen.

01:02:00.080 But why not take the moment

01:02:03.000 to heal our heart?

01:02:04.740 Why not take the moment

01:02:05.900 to actually look and say,

01:02:07.480 look at the vast majority of people.

01:02:10.860 Look at what's happening.

01:02:13.060 Is it just me

01:02:14.200 that this actually gives hope?

01:02:16.240 It's actually like,

01:02:16.980 okay,

01:02:17.200 if we're really...

01:02:17.900 Because just three weeks ago,

01:02:19.500 I was like,

01:02:20.000 I don't know if I said this

01:02:21.260 on the air,

01:02:22.220 but I've been saying,

01:02:23.640 I don't know what happens

01:02:25.160 to us anymore.

01:02:25.860 I don't know who we are.

01:02:27.020 I don't know

01:02:27.680 if a giant economic disaster hits.

01:02:30.740 I don't know

01:02:31.520 if we burn our cities

01:02:32.780 down to the ground 0.99

01:02:33.960 and we become animals

01:02:36.340 towards each other.

01:02:37.300 I don't know.

01:02:38.220 Well,

01:02:39.260 look at this.

01:02:40.920 Look at what's happening.

01:02:42.060 We haven't changed.

01:02:43.620 The fundamental transformation

01:02:45.060 of America

01:02:47.080 may have changed,

01:02:49.060 may have happened,

01:02:50.160 but the fundamental transformation

01:02:52.020 of Americans

01:02:53.280 has not yet.

01:02:56.140 That's...

01:02:57.200 All you need

01:02:57.980 are Americans.

01:02:59.420 If you have that American 1.00

01:03:01.180 can-do,

01:03:02.820 I'm going to do it.

01:03:04.300 I'm there to help.

01:03:05.640 I'm going to help my neighbor.

01:03:07.460 I don't care

01:03:08.400 what color they are.

01:03:09.400 I don't care anything

01:03:10.360 about how they voted.

01:03:11.540 I'm just going to go there

01:03:12.580 and help.

01:03:13.160 As long as that

01:03:14.620 remains intact,

01:03:15.980 we make it.

01:03:17.200 That's all the world

01:03:17.740 has had for a long time.

01:03:19.640 I mean,

01:03:19.920 we've had a couple hundred years

01:03:21.400 of America

01:03:22.060 being really the only hope

01:03:23.480 and dragging

01:03:25.320 the rest of the world

01:03:26.700 in the right direction.

01:03:29.000 You know,

01:03:29.180 I was down in Mexico

01:03:30.240 and they have this

01:03:31.740 weird thing culturally

01:03:33.160 and I have not

01:03:33.980 figured it out yet.

01:03:35.640 And so I hesitate

01:03:36.700 to say this

01:03:37.420 because I don't want

01:03:38.280 to besmirch

01:03:39.680 the people of Mexico

01:03:42.020 because I don't think

01:03:42.680 it's Mexico

01:03:43.160 and I don't even think

01:03:44.600 it's all Latin America.

01:03:45.760 I think it is...

01:03:47.300 It's parts of the world

01:03:49.540 that do not have

01:03:51.160 a more enlightened view

01:03:54.260 of women.

01:03:54.980 And there is something

01:03:57.480 in Latin America

01:03:59.280 that it's still okay

01:04:01.680 like it kind of was

01:04:03.320 here in America

01:04:04.000 30, 40 years ago

01:04:05.480 to drool over that

01:04:07.720 15-year-old girl

01:04:09.820 and to...

01:04:11.720 We always make fun of like 0.99

01:04:13.160 there's songs in the 80s,

01:04:14.840 you know,

01:04:15.540 sexy and was sexy in 17

01:04:17.920 and she, you know,

01:04:18.980 like there's all these

01:04:19.520 like 16 and 17-year-old songs

01:04:20.920 you're like,

01:04:21.200 you shouldn't have sang that

01:04:22.100 out loud.

01:04:22.560 You realize that, right?

01:04:23.780 Yeah.

01:04:24.140 Even, you know,

01:04:25.040 you listen to George Michael

01:04:27.060 in Father Figure.

01:04:28.720 I will be your father figure.

01:04:30.700 Okay, that's creepy.

01:04:32.300 That's really creepy.

01:04:33.880 Okay?

01:04:34.200 Yes.

01:04:34.560 So, as we're dealing 0.99

01:04:35.880 with all these sex slaves 1.00

01:04:37.400 down in Latin America, 0.99

01:04:40.500 I've seen that in the culture,

01:04:43.020 at least part of the culture,

01:04:44.420 and it's hard because

01:04:45.200 I'm only in this darker

01:04:46.480 part of the culture,

01:04:47.640 but these young 12-year-olds 0.97

01:04:51.300 are used as sex slaves 0.99

01:04:53.020 because that's where 1.00

01:04:54.600 the demand is.

01:04:56.100 Now, it's happening here

01:04:57.600 as well,

01:04:58.560 but you don't see here,

01:05:01.640 you know,

01:05:01.900 I think we kind of

01:05:02.500 stopped this with,

01:05:03.280 who was it,

01:05:03.680 Jerry Lee Lewis

01:05:04.380 and Elvis Presley.

01:05:06.040 Okay, yeah,

01:05:07.360 she's a little young.

01:05:09.380 I don't think that's good.

01:05:11.680 There are parts

01:05:12.620 still in the world

01:05:13.480 that still look at

01:05:14.760 12-year-olds and go,

01:05:15.760 yeah, you know,

01:05:16.380 you can have her.

01:05:17.980 You can marry her, 0.98

01:05:19.040 whatever.

01:05:20.060 We're not like that.

01:05:22.080 And it amazes me

01:05:23.800 that we're the ones

01:05:27.020 truly under attack,

01:05:28.940 that America

01:05:30.040 is the one

01:05:31.400 that's made to look

01:05:32.480 like the big predator animal

01:05:34.360 when we're better

01:05:36.920 than most of the rest

01:05:38.120 of the world.

01:05:38.660 We're a lot better.

01:05:39.900 And that's happening

01:05:40.740 in almost every category.

01:05:42.600 And the reason why

01:05:43.900 they can sell it to us

01:05:44.960 is because we don't see it.

01:05:47.720 We're so isolated.

01:05:50.480 It's been a great protector

01:05:52.080 to be this isolated,

01:05:53.420 but it's also killing us

01:05:54.560 right now.

01:05:55.460 We're so isolated

01:05:56.380 when we don't know

01:05:58.980 what the rest of the world

01:06:00.200 is like,

01:06:01.400 we can start just

01:06:02.660 tearing ourselves down

01:06:03.620 because we don't have

01:06:04.340 anything to compare to

01:06:05.320 and say,

01:06:06.040 I'm glad we're not that.

01:06:08.360 Yeah, we got our problems,

01:06:09.540 but we're not that.

01:06:11.200 We don't do that.

01:06:13.320 Our institutions now

01:06:14.820 are built to say,

01:06:16.340 yeah, forget about that.

01:06:18.040 Look at what you are.

01:06:20.600 We'd never do that

01:06:21.540 to our children.

01:06:22.980 We'd never do that

01:06:23.600 to anything that we love.

01:06:25.740 We'd never,

01:06:26.560 no,

01:06:27.040 no psychiatric care.

01:06:29.940 They would go to jail

01:06:31.560 if they were bringing

01:06:33.100 their,

01:06:33.600 their,

01:06:34.480 you know,

01:06:34.820 patients in

01:06:35.600 and saying,

01:06:36.540 yeah,

01:06:37.760 well,

01:06:38.420 you just look at you

01:06:39.800 and I'm not going

01:06:41.760 to tell you

01:06:42.400 about,

01:06:43.100 you know,

01:06:43.440 how good you

01:06:44.820 actually have it

01:06:45.920 and give you

01:06:46.500 some perspective

01:06:47.340 on,

01:06:48.020 you know,

01:06:48.380 X,

01:06:48.720 Y,

01:06:48.980 and Z

01:06:49.320 and show you

01:06:50.060 the mass

01:06:51.120 of the population.

01:06:51.960 What I'm really

01:06:52.580 just going to do

01:06:53.200 is say, 0.79

01:06:53.740 you're really bad. 0.64

01:06:55.200 You notice,

01:06:55.740 I'm going to play

01:06:56.240 into everything

01:06:56.900 that you think

01:06:57.540 about yourself.

01:06:58.480 Instead of giving you

01:06:59.360 a fresh perspective

01:07:00.620 and showing you,

01:07:02.980 hey,

01:07:03.980 yeah,

01:07:04.540 you got some problems,

01:07:05.560 but I want you

01:07:06.000 to put it into perspective.

01:07:07.480 Instead of doing that,

01:07:08.920 imagine a psychiatrist

01:07:09.860 saying,

01:07:10.460 yeah,

01:07:10.560 forget about all of that.

01:07:11.780 You,

01:07:12.040 you know what? 0.99

01:07:12.440 You are bad. 0.98

01:07:13.200 In fact, 1.00

01:07:13.440 you might be worse

01:07:14.040 than you think.

01:07:15.020 Those people

01:07:15.500 would be in jail.

01:07:17.040 Look,

01:07:17.240 I'd like to talk you

01:07:17.840 out of this,

01:07:18.200 but the evidence

01:07:18.680 shows you really 1.00

01:07:19.420 are a crap heap. 1.00

01:07:20.720 Right. 0.99

01:07:21.000 I'm sorry.

01:07:22.420 Look at what's happening

01:07:23.500 and we're allowing

01:07:24.260 it to happen.

01:07:25.600 Don't.

01:07:26.580 It stops having

01:07:27.860 power over you

01:07:28.960 the minute you

01:07:30.000 recognize the game.

01:07:32.080 The minute you

01:07:32.880 recognize,

01:07:33.740 oh my gosh,

01:07:34.280 I see what you're

01:07:34.820 doing.

01:07:36.080 Huh.

01:07:37.800 I get it.

01:07:39.020 That's the greatest

01:07:39.660 thing because I grew

01:07:40.760 up in a home

01:07:41.880 full of abuse

01:07:43.560 and I've seen it

01:07:45.500 my whole life.

01:07:46.740 I can recognize

01:07:47.700 an abuser

01:07:48.340 a million miles

01:07:50.080 away.

01:07:50.560 A million miles

01:07:52.080 away.

01:07:53.380 And when you

01:07:55.060 are,

01:07:55.780 just the subtle

01:07:56.960 things that you

01:07:58.020 would say to your

01:07:59.000 spouse or to your

01:08:00.040 girlfriend or whatever,

01:08:01.140 I've seen this movie

01:08:02.840 before,

01:08:03.360 dude.

01:08:03.760 I know who you

01:08:04.700 are.

01:08:05.020 and once you

01:08:07.180 know it,

01:08:08.700 you're not afraid

01:08:10.340 of it and you

01:08:11.580 call it out every

01:08:12.360 time.

01:08:13.140 Oh,

01:08:13.740 yeah,

01:08:14.100 I know who you

01:08:14.700 are.

01:08:15.420 Yeah.

01:08:16.280 Get out.

01:08:18.420 And that's what we

01:08:19.180 need to say mentally

01:08:20.120 to all of these

01:08:21.640 things that right

01:08:23.040 now you have a

01:08:25.080 choice.

01:08:26.160 Your media source

01:08:27.500 can either focus

01:08:30.320 right now on

01:08:31.720 tearing everything

01:08:32.660 down and

01:08:34.800 tearing all the

01:08:35.500 American stuff

01:08:36.160 down or use

01:08:37.720 this time to

01:08:38.620 tear the other

01:08:40.080 side down or

01:08:41.820 it can just tell

01:08:43.100 the truth.

01:08:44.340 Look what's

01:08:45.120 happening.

01:08:46.300 This one really

01:08:47.460 counts.

01:08:48.720 This one kind of

01:08:49.820 doesn't.

01:08:51.260 This one is real

01:08:52.680 strife, real

01:08:54.140 problems, real

01:08:55.540 rescue.

01:08:56.660 This one seems to

01:08:57.860 just be politically

01:08:58.500 motivated.

01:08:59.060 Huh, I think

01:09:01.360 we should spend

01:09:01.780 our time on

01:09:02.140 this one and

01:09:03.620 not on the

01:09:04.160 politically

01:09:04.440 motivated one.

01:09:07.480 We have to get

01:09:08.540 our arms around

01:09:09.400 that and right

01:09:11.160 now recharge

01:09:12.420 your batteries.

01:09:14.160 Recharge

01:09:14.600 everything that

01:09:15.280 you have felt

01:09:16.500 worried about

01:09:17.440 when it comes to

01:09:19.260 America.

01:09:20.080 Recharge them.

01:09:21.560 Fill yourself

01:09:22.360 with all of the

01:09:23.200 good things that

01:09:23.980 are going on.

01:09:25.980 Read story

01:09:26.940 after story

01:09:27.520 after story of

01:09:28.320 the heroes.

01:09:29.740 We have them

01:09:30.140 at glennbeck.com.

01:09:31.260 We'll have a

01:09:31.780 facebook.com

01:09:33.000 slash glennbeck.

01:09:33.860 We'll have it

01:09:34.140 at theblaze.com.

01:09:35.620 Fill yourself

01:09:36.600 with the good

01:09:37.320 stuff of what's

01:09:38.400 happening in

01:09:38.860 America.

01:09:39.020 There's no

01:09:39.900 shortage of

01:09:40.800 them.

01:09:41.040 None.

01:09:41.460 I mean,

01:09:41.820 if you're

01:09:43.240 looking for

01:09:43.680 those stories,

01:09:44.400 you can find

01:09:45.020 hundreds of

01:09:45.620 them.

01:09:46.040 It's great.

01:09:46.700 And we've

01:09:47.000 done a bunch

01:09:47.400 of them

01:09:47.620 already.

01:09:47.980 We did a

01:09:48.240 bunch yesterday

01:09:48.760 and we should

01:09:49.320 continue to do

01:09:49.820 it this week

01:09:50.220 because you're

01:09:50.640 right.

01:09:51.140 People need

01:09:51.520 to understand.

01:09:52.500 You lose

01:09:53.760 sight very

01:09:54.500 easily that

01:09:55.980 people can

01:09:56.460 actually be

01:09:57.100 decent human

01:09:57.900 beings.

01:09:59.860 That's a

01:10:00.460 sad statement,

01:10:01.340 but it's

01:10:01.560 very true.

01:10:01.680 And there's

01:10:01.740 always going

01:10:02.020 to be dirt

01:10:02.340 bags.

01:10:02.800 Look,

01:10:03.460 if they're

01:10:03.840 not already,

01:10:04.740 and Jason,

01:10:05.320 who is down

01:10:05.800 for my

01:10:06.820 company,

01:10:07.320 is down in

01:10:07.860 Houston right

01:10:08.340 now,

01:10:08.920 and hopefully

01:10:09.800 we'll have him

01:10:10.320 on in about

01:10:10.820 15 minutes,

01:10:11.420 he's out on

01:10:12.520 the boats

01:10:12.860 with Team

01:10:13.620 Rubicon,

01:10:14.400 a group

01:10:14.980 that Mercury

01:10:16.080 One is

01:10:16.600 helping sponsor

01:10:17.560 and keep

01:10:18.300 the fuel

01:10:19.200 and everything

01:10:19.820 that they're

01:10:20.280 needing to

01:10:20.980 be able to

01:10:21.520 go rescue

01:10:21.900 people.

01:10:22.540 He's out

01:10:23.100 on the

01:10:23.300 rescue boats

01:10:23.820 with them

01:10:24.200 today.

01:10:25.720 And he

01:10:27.720 was saying

01:10:28.220 earlier today,

01:10:29.760 you know what's

01:10:30.200 amazing is how

01:10:32.200 crowded the

01:10:32.980 highways are

01:10:33.740 going into

01:10:35.340 Houston and

01:10:36.060 everyone has a

01:10:37.000 boat in tow.

01:10:37.800 It's just all

01:10:38.660 these people

01:10:39.060 who are just

01:10:39.400 coming from

01:10:39.820 all over

01:10:40.360 just to

01:10:42.300 help.

01:10:44.200 That's what

01:10:45.360 Tanya and I

01:10:46.020 saw after

01:10:47.360 9-11.

01:10:48.360 When I went

01:10:48.880 up and I was

01:10:49.420 allowed to go

01:10:50.020 in to see

01:10:50.720 the World Trade

01:10:51.360 Center site

01:10:52.040 about five or

01:10:53.060 six days after

01:10:53.880 it had come

01:10:54.380 down,

01:10:55.760 and it was

01:10:56.540 just Tanya and

01:10:57.240 I,

01:10:57.500 we went in,

01:10:58.880 and what we

01:11:00.720 witnessed were

01:11:02.200 like barbecue

01:11:03.760 places and food

01:11:05.240 kitchens that

01:11:06.000 were on wheels

01:11:06.700 and,

01:11:07.800 you know,

01:11:09.040 people who

01:11:09.660 were,

01:11:10.120 you know,

01:11:10.400 doing massage

01:11:11.520 work and

01:11:12.160 everything else

01:11:12.660 that were all

01:11:13.800 over from all

01:11:14.560 over the country

01:11:15.440 that had just

01:11:16.740 seen the towers

01:11:17.440 go down, 0.52

01:11:18.240 and they got

01:11:19.200 into their car

01:11:20.180 or their truck

01:11:20.940 or their van,

01:11:21.840 and they just

01:11:22.920 drove to New

01:11:24.040 York.

01:11:24.780 And they were

01:11:25.440 like,

01:11:25.660 I can help.

01:11:26.300 I know what's

01:11:27.060 coming,

01:11:27.920 and I can help.

01:11:29.760 And nobody

01:11:30.440 was paid,

01:11:31.000 nobody organized

01:11:31.560 it,

01:11:32.100 just people did

01:11:32.940 it.

01:11:34.100 Celebrate that.

01:11:35.060 That's who we

01:11:35.640 are.

01:11:36.880 Now this,

01:11:37.800 one of the

01:11:38.620 things you

01:11:38.840 don't need to

01:11:39.220 worry about

01:11:39.680 in your life

01:11:40.580 is your

01:11:41.240 mortgage payment.

01:11:42.880 American

01:11:43.400 financing.

01:11:44.940 Don't get

01:11:45.760 involved in a

01:11:46.840 mortgage payment

01:11:47.560 that is wrong

01:11:48.440 for you.

01:11:49.700 American

01:11:50.080 financing dedicated

01:11:51.060 to helping you

01:11:51.920 make smart

01:11:52.760 mortgage decisions

01:11:53.760 that align with

01:11:55.340 your unique

01:11:56.060 financial goals.

01:11:57.560 When you go in

01:11:58.440 and the bank

01:11:59.300 sells you a

01:12:01.280 mortgage,

01:12:01.640 they don't give

01:12:02.020 you a mortgage,

01:12:02.520 they sell you a

01:12:03.460 mortgage,

01:12:04.460 they're pushing

01:12:05.100 a product just

01:12:06.520 like as much

01:12:07.160 as a car

01:12:07.600 dealership.

01:12:08.540 It just doesn't

01:12:09.460 feel as slimy as

01:12:10.980 a car dealership,

01:12:11.820 but it is the

01:12:12.860 same thing.

01:12:14.180 Just a different

01:12:14.940 approach.

01:12:15.700 And they're trying

01:12:16.380 to sell you the

01:12:17.680 thing that makes

01:12:18.580 them the most

01:12:19.480 amount of money.

01:12:20.900 We don't think

01:12:21.660 about it that way

01:12:22.440 when we go in and

01:12:23.060 get a mortgage.

01:12:23.720 We just trust that

01:12:24.360 the banks are,

01:12:24.940 no,

01:12:25.500 don't.

01:12:25.980 Why?

01:12:26.940 It's a business

01:12:27.460 just like anything

01:12:28.020 else.

01:12:28.380 American Financing,

01:12:31.340 they have

01:12:32.200 salaried

01:12:34.560 financial advisors.

01:12:36.100 So these are

01:12:36.480 people that are

01:12:36.920 not getting a

01:12:37.680 cut of whatever

01:12:38.500 it is you buy.

01:12:39.900 You get

01:12:40.300 straightforward and

01:12:41.760 an effortless

01:12:42.480 mortgage experience.

01:12:43.840 Right now they're

01:12:44.340 doing reverse

01:12:45.000 mortgages as well.

01:12:46.320 They're a good way

01:12:46.780 to increase

01:13:21.020 A couple of

01:13:21.600 updates.

01:13:24.180 We have just

01:13:25.020 been alerted that

01:13:25.680 the levy at

01:13:26.560 Columbia Lakes

01:13:27.420 has been breached

01:13:28.400 that's in

01:13:29.540 Brazoria County

01:13:30.360 and they're

01:13:31.180 saying,

01:13:31.720 get out now.

01:13:34.020 This is going

01:13:34.880 to get,

01:13:35.680 this is still

01:13:36.920 going to get

01:13:37.380 worse here in

01:13:38.300 Houston.

01:13:39.320 Yesterday,

01:13:40.020 through a member

01:13:40.440 of the Blaze,

01:13:42.080 Mercury One

01:13:42.620 learned of the

01:13:43.640 Lighthouse Charity

01:13:44.820 Team.

01:13:45.700 This is a group

01:13:46.720 serving people on

01:13:47.660 Galveston Island

01:13:48.340 towards the south

01:13:49.280 side of Houston.

01:13:50.300 There is no way

01:13:51.160 now to get from

01:13:52.060 Houston to

01:13:52.600 Galveston.

01:13:53.100 The roads are all

01:13:53.720 closed as well as

01:13:54.480 all of the ports.

01:13:55.140 last night alone

01:13:56.820 the area got

01:13:57.480 11 inches of

01:13:59.160 rain in four

01:14:00.320 hours.

01:14:01.820 Water is still

01:14:03.020 several feet

01:14:03.800 higher this

01:14:04.440 morning than

01:14:05.040 it was over

01:14:06.200 the weekend

01:14:06.700 and yesterday.

01:14:08.000 It has not.

01:14:09.300 All of

01:14:09.820 Friendswood now

01:14:10.400 is flooded in,

01:14:11.600 not passable even

01:14:12.720 with military

01:14:13.320 equipment.

01:14:14.000 Medical patients

01:14:14.640 are unable to

01:14:20.940 long as needed.

01:14:21.660 They're serving

01:14:22.600 right now

01:14:23.060 1500 meals

01:14:24.360 but they need

01:14:25.620 your help.

01:14:38.260 The Glenn Beck

01:14:40.680 Program

01:14:41.360 Mercury

01:14:42.800 All right, we have a lot going on in Houston with the floodwaters.

01:15:02.320 Things are going to get worse before they get better.

01:15:06.440 The response has been really, truly tremendous.

01:15:11.700 Even the people who are trying to make this about politics and saying, you know,

01:15:16.660 well, they should have gotten those people out of there.

01:15:19.300 Well, maybe they should have gotten those people out of there.

01:15:22.680 However, as Pat knows, because he sat through the last hurricane that came in through Houston,

01:15:31.760 he decided to stay in his home.

01:15:34.400 Others went and people died on the highways.

01:15:37.320 It was awful, and that was nothing like it is now with the cars being two, three feet underwater.

01:15:46.680 Imagine what would have happened if millions of people were trapped on the roads in Houston.

01:15:52.600 Catastrophe.

01:15:53.380 We're going to get an update on all of this and show how you can get involved and help.

01:15:59.380 Admiring the solution instead of the problem right now.

01:16:03.100 The fusion of entertainment and enlightenment.

01:16:24.960 You know, I want to give you a choice, and this is what you should be saying to your friends all the time.

01:16:39.600 Anybody who is on Facebook, who is trying to make this about politics or anything else,

01:16:45.000 just ask them kindly, how about we just drop all this right now and we all come together and work to help one another.

01:16:55.820 Plenty of time for blame later.

01:16:58.260 But the guy from the Young Turks, what's his name, said,

01:17:01.140 horrified at the human toll, but not sad about the billions of damage to the oil industry.

01:17:07.980 U.S. taxpayers should... 1.00

01:17:09.200 Gosh, what a moron. 1.00

01:17:09.980 I know, U.S. taxpayers should help people of Houston in light of this tragedy, 1.00

01:17:13.120 but not one dime to the oil companies that helped cause it in the first place.

01:17:16.840 First of all, I know, I mean, remember, I'm not a meteorologist or a climate specialist, but neither are you.

01:17:24.260 And hurricanes have been happening like this forever.

01:17:30.000 Look up the hurricane of Galveston, 1900.

01:17:32.820 Was that because of the oil companies?

01:17:34.740 This is what happens.

01:17:35.940 The second thing is, when you are paying a really high price at the gas pump because of this hurricane,

01:17:48.380 then tell me how you are helping the little people.

01:17:53.980 We have this...

01:17:55.260 This hurricane is not only the cost of human life,

01:17:59.540 but it is also the cost of rebuilding the biggest port.

01:18:05.500 Is Los Angeles the biggest port or is Houston the biggest port?

01:18:09.340 I think Houston's third.

01:18:12.860 Third, okay.

01:18:13.660 Yeah.

01:18:14.100 One of the biggest ports, Houston also is one of the main shipping,

01:18:19.040 the train shipping stations in the country.

01:18:25.460 A lot of the trains come from Los Angeles or they'll come from Miami

01:18:31.280 and they will be shipped to Houston and then the trains switch in Houston.

01:18:40.100 So it is a major, major area of import and distribution for the country.

01:18:47.100 Not just the oil refineries, which are plentiful.

01:18:51.180 When we're paying a lot more for a gallon of gasoline that helps you get to work,

01:19:00.460 when you're paying a lot more for some of the things that used to come in through the port of Houston,

01:19:05.480 it's because of this hurricane.

01:19:07.900 This is going to hurt all of us.

01:19:10.840 All of us are going to be hurt by this in a way that could be a trigger point.

01:19:17.540 If we're not careful, it could be a trigger point for an economic disaster.

01:19:24.320 Let's be careful what we hope for and root for.

01:19:28.480 According to this, six of the top ten ports are between Louisiana and Texas.

01:19:35.060 Louisiana has three, Texas has three in the top ten.

01:19:38.640 That's a lot of shipping.

01:19:39.640 Yeah, and it's, I mean, the left seems so hate-filled right now,

01:19:45.440 and I know there's some on the right too, but the left seems so hate-filled

01:19:48.540 that they're willing to hurt millions and millions of people for their political agenda.

01:19:53.780 Same thing with Bill Maher wishing for the stock market to collapse.

01:19:58.220 I mean, how many people would that affect?

01:20:00.200 How many people who are retired will that affect?

01:20:05.940 I mean, the ramifications of just this.

01:20:10.040 Remember, I was saying in 2007 and 2008,

01:20:14.300 look for a sustained oil price of $140 per barrel,

01:20:18.700 and you will have the collapse of the housing market.

01:20:21.940 As it turned out, it was a sustained price of $130 a barrel.

01:20:27.760 I was wrong.

01:20:28.320 It was even more fragile than I thought it was,

01:20:31.040 and that's what triggered the collapse of the housing market.

01:20:35.140 It's a house of cards.

01:20:36.680 You don't want things to go up in price

01:20:40.340 if you actually care about the country and people.

01:20:44.680 Yeah, but on the other side, he would improve his argument.

01:20:49.680 Okay, yes, okay, good.

01:20:51.560 So if he didn't really consider that part of it,

01:20:53.740 so that was pretty good.

01:20:54.580 If you want to consider that he's improving his argument by lies.

01:21:00.700 Well, yeah, he'd be lying, sure, but he'd be able to say that on the show,

01:21:04.280 and you know what would happen?

01:21:05.860 People in his audience would cheer loudly for him when he made that point.

01:21:10.220 Yeah.

01:21:10.440 So, I mean, that would be done.

01:21:11.780 Then he gets a hit of dopamine.

01:21:14.040 That would be kind of cool.

01:21:15.340 Always a plus.

01:21:15.880 Yes.

01:21:16.280 That's great.

01:21:16.840 Always a plus.

01:21:17.760 Will you do me a favor and go to mercuryone.org,

01:21:21.820 mercuryone.org, and please donate.

01:21:25.100 And I want to tell you the things that we are doing right now.

01:21:31.320 We are doing Operation Barbecue.

01:21:33.640 That is still staged in Spring, Texas.

01:21:37.100 I-45 was closed down yesterday.

01:21:39.800 They are moving to the convention center today.

01:21:42.760 They are going to be cooking lunch and dinner by Wednesday at the convention center.

01:21:47.680 They're ramping up to serve 25,000 meals a day by Friday at the shelter,

01:21:54.460 as well as serving all of the first responders.

01:21:57.300 They're also supporting the U.S. Coast Guard.

01:22:00.380 They need your help, and you can help by going to mercuryone.org.

01:22:04.600 This is one of our first relief responders,

01:22:07.660 and we would really like your help, mercuryone.org.

01:22:13.220 Team Rubicon, we are still waiting for one of our guys to call in.

01:22:18.820 It has been crazy this morning, but he is out with Team Rubicon,

01:22:22.820 and they are putting the boats in the water, and they're going out to rescue.

01:22:27.200 His description earlier today on the program of what the waterways

01:22:32.720 or the streets are like, it is, he said,

01:22:35.000 you can almost walk from boat to boat, step into other people's boats,

01:22:40.080 and they're all private, and everybody is just coming from all over the southwest

01:22:45.120 with their boats to help rescue people.

01:22:47.840 As we said, another levee just broke in Houston,

01:22:51.240 and they are saying, get out of this area.

01:22:54.980 Galveston, people are trapped.

01:22:56.800 There was 11 inches of rain.

01:22:58.280 How many more are they expecting when the thing comes back and turns around, Pat?

01:23:02.780 They were expecting, all told, up to 50 inches,

01:23:06.140 and so I don't know how many more that is.

01:23:08.300 They were already at 30 in a lot of locations.

01:23:11.320 So a lot of locations were even at 40.

01:23:13.640 Yeah, I think actually now a preliminary report from one Texas rain gauge

01:23:17.640 has broken the Texas tropical cyclone rainfall record.

01:23:21.800 Southeast of Houston, Mary's Creek reported 49.32 inches as of 9 a.m. century.

01:23:28.140 Do you know what the annual rainfall total for Houston is?

01:23:31.460 49 inches.

01:23:33.680 They got it in one weekend.

01:23:35.300 They got it in one weekend.

01:23:36.560 Two or three days.

01:23:38.480 The previous record was 1978.

01:23:40.300 Wow.

01:23:40.920 Which was what?

01:23:42.400 48 inches.

01:23:44.120 And it's not done yet.

01:23:45.340 It's not done yet.

01:23:46.020 Yeah, I mean, this morning I saw a report that said

01:23:48.280 there's still 15 inches coming to Galveston.

01:23:51.560 I mean, good heavens.

01:23:52.980 15 inches is a really bad storm by itself.

01:23:55.560 You're at 40, 45, 49 inches, and you're getting another 15 potentially.

01:23:59.680 I mean, how is this, how is this, seriously, what, I mean, nobody is, I mean, people's,

01:24:08.380 do you see the picture of the people in the nursing home?

01:24:10.640 I thought that had to be fake.

01:24:12.460 Yeah.

01:24:12.800 Yeah.

01:24:13.440 It wasn't, was it?

01:24:14.740 No, they did rescue them though, right, Jeff?

01:24:16.820 Yeah, they had already been rescued.

01:24:18.040 And I believe that we have a story up at glenbeck.com with a blaze that showed them

01:24:22.000 all rescued and dried.

01:24:24.660 So, I mean, that was.

01:24:25.320 I mean, I saw that and I'm like, you've got to be kidding me.

01:24:27.600 I mean, it was, I mean.

01:24:29.740 That was more of a, of a shock because that's how fast it happens.

01:24:33.580 Yes.

01:24:34.020 I mean, it wasn't so much like, oh, look at that, they're leaving these nursing home

01:24:37.300 people in the water.

01:24:38.820 No, it just, all of a sudden it starts to flood and you're up five feet.

01:24:42.120 Right.

01:24:42.440 Yeah.

01:24:42.640 I mean, it's frightening.

01:24:43.900 We have, one of the things that Mercury One right now is doing is Provisions Project,

01:24:49.000 providing funding to the search and rescue partners in Houston.

01:24:53.040 We're, we're, we're working with Provisions Project.

01:24:56.020 We're providing the fuel and the equipment and the meals.

01:24:59.720 They have over a hundred volunteers and 40 boats that are just trying to work with the

01:25:05.520 local emergency officials in the sheriff's offices of the hardest hit areas because, you

01:25:10.300 know, they got these boats, where are they getting gas?

01:25:12.640 So we're bringing the fuel into them, um, through, uh, the Provisions Project and trying

01:25:18.540 to get that done.

01:25:19.920 Um, there is also this one here, the Lighthouse Charity that we just found out about yesterday.

01:25:27.800 Almost 11 inches in four hours last night.

01:25:31.280 The water is already several feet higher than it was over the weekend.

01:25:35.520 Um, Friendswood is now flooded.

01:25:37.940 This is in Galveston.

01:25:39.360 Um, and the Lighthouse Charity team is providing community support through meals as long as

01:25:46.660 they possibly can.

01:25:47.980 They're right now serving 1,500 meals a day just in Friendswood.

01:25:52.760 Their operations of the Galveston facility, um, is trying to, uh, support the needs of Galveston

01:26:00.580 County.

01:26:01.100 But again, as Stu said, they're expecting another 15 inches.

01:26:05.000 There's no way out of Galveston now.

01:26:07.000 Even with military equipment, there is no way out of Galveston.

01:26:12.100 All the roads are closed.

01:26:13.180 Everything is flooded.

01:26:14.240 You're stuck.

01:26:15.740 And there are people that need help.

01:26:18.580 The last thing we can do is choke down the funds.

01:26:21.300 When we need the, when they need it, they need it now.

01:26:25.200 We have, we've already, one of our charities for Mercury One has, I think, six tractor trailers,

01:26:32.100 uh, that are parked right outside of the floodwaters, just waiting for the first opportunity to be

01:26:38.800 able to be flagged in.

01:26:40.000 But it's full of water.

01:26:41.700 That's one of the things that's going to be really, a really big problem is water.

01:26:47.000 I mean, everything, the sewage and everything, this is how people, you know, this is how people

01:26:52.900 die fast is through no clean water and all of that water.

01:26:57.920 Imagine, because Houston is a bad place for mold as it is. 0.96

01:27:03.000 Imagine, imagine the illness that is coming from mold.

01:27:07.940 This floodwater is so unhealthy, so dangerous.

01:27:11.360 You don't even want to walk through it, let alone drink it.

01:27:14.380 That's one of the things that they're concerned about, again, is the skin illnesses from the

01:27:18.680 people who are walking in it.

01:27:20.500 I mean, that's, you don't want to be swimming in it.

01:27:22.200 You don't want to be walking in it.

01:27:23.340 I mean, that's things that happen, you know, post-recovery.

01:27:25.600 Yeah, that's, you know, that's the, the 9-11 first responders with the, with the, you know,

01:27:30.340 the lung disease that's going on.

01:27:32.000 I mean, you don't think about it when you're out there helping, but that's the kind of

01:27:35.420 stuff that is coming.

01:27:36.240 This is a long way from being over.

01:27:38.580 However, this is, you know, this is another Katrina.

01:27:44.400 This is really, really good.

01:27:46.160 Do we have a death toll?

01:27:47.240 Because I'm like shocked that the death toll isn't gigantic.

01:27:51.680 Yeah.

01:27:52.200 I mean, it could possibly rise when the floodwaters subside and then they find people.

01:27:58.120 Yeah.

01:27:58.280 Because I don't, I think the last I heard was five.

01:28:01.100 Yeah.

01:28:01.520 That's crazy.

01:28:02.720 How many millions of people?

01:28:03.860 14.

01:28:04.500 How many millions of people live in Houston?

01:28:06.120 Seven, almost seven million.

01:28:07.540 Seven million.

01:28:08.360 I don't think we even have a big unaccounted for list.

01:28:10.360 What?

01:28:10.640 Yeah.

01:28:10.880 An unaccounted for list.

01:28:12.220 Yeah.

01:28:12.580 You know, I don't even think we have a big list of that.

01:28:15.000 I mean, obviously it could get bad.

01:28:17.000 I mean, I don't even know.

01:28:18.160 Are the cell phone, are the cell towers still working?

01:28:20.780 I mean, how would you charge your phone?

01:28:23.240 You know, if your floodwaters came in, you're not charging your phone.

01:28:26.760 Right.

01:28:27.660 So we don't know how many are unaccounted for yet.

01:28:30.500 But so far, it is miraculous on what is happening.

01:28:35.020 Just miraculous.

01:28:36.620 Of course, Katrina, about, you know, after that storm initially passed, felt the same way.

01:28:42.540 There was a time where it was like, wow, well, you know, it was bad, but it's going to be okay.

01:28:46.760 And then, of course, the levees broke and it got really ugly.

01:28:49.760 Well, levees are breaking today in Houston.

01:28:51.680 Yeah.

01:28:51.800 I mean, it doesn't always happen that first day.

01:28:54.140 And it's not always the wind, right?

01:28:55.640 And here's going to be the flooding.

01:28:57.360 They think that after they go and do searches, once the water recedes, they could find much bigger numbers.

01:29:02.400 Though, I don't think we're going to see anything like Katrina and death toll.

01:29:05.260 Stu or Pat, look up last big heat wave in Europe.

01:29:10.860 Yeah.

01:29:11.240 I mean, heat wave.

01:29:12.240 2000s, yeah.

01:29:12.960 Yeah.

01:29:13.340 I mean, there were hundreds of people.

01:29:16.200 Yeah, just in France.

01:29:17.160 Hundreds of people just from heat.

01:29:19.760 I mean, this is, you know, heat is really bad, especially in Europe where you don't have a lot of air conditioning and everything else.

01:29:25.680 But, my gosh, it's not this.

01:29:31.020 No.

01:29:31.440 Oh, no.

01:29:31.740 In 2003, it was.

01:29:33.340 And it was three, at least 1,540.

01:29:37.460 Wow.

01:29:37.940 In just France.

01:29:39.600 In just France.

01:29:41.500 European heat wave caused 35,000 deaths.

01:29:44.600 Incredible.

01:29:45.100 According to a newscience.com article.

01:29:47.700 Now, that's crazy.

01:29:48.560 35,000.

01:29:50.000 For heat.

01:29:51.100 Yeah.

01:29:51.880 This is a town of 7 million.

01:29:54.640 And that's not including all the other towns from Corpus Christi.

01:29:58.500 People don't have any idea how big the state of Texas is.

01:30:03.480 They have no.

01:30:03.980 And these cities.

01:30:05.140 Concept.

01:30:05.860 Yeah.

01:30:06.120 You have no concept of how big this state is in these cities.

01:30:09.380 They go on and on and on and on and on and on and on.

01:30:12.220 And, you know, we are, what, five hours away driving from here to Houston?

01:30:16.880 About four, probably.

01:30:17.460 Yeah.

01:30:17.780 Four hours from here to Houston.

01:30:20.600 Three with that.

01:30:21.220 And we're close.

01:30:24.220 We're close.

01:30:24.880 It takes you from Brownsville, Texas, which is on the southern border, to Texarkana, Texas,

01:30:32.980 which is at the top of the border.

01:30:34.200 It takes you as long to drive there as it does from Texarkana, Texas, to Chicago.

01:30:42.240 That's how big this state is.

01:30:44.940 And the entire gulf, it's as if everything from San Diego to Portland had this rainstorm hitting.

01:30:56.000 Yeah.

01:30:56.320 It's enormous.

01:30:57.980 It's enormous.

01:30:58.720 France, 14,802 heat-related deaths.

01:31:01.620 Just from France.

01:31:02.500 Just in France.

01:31:03.420 Yeah.

01:31:03.960 It's funny because we got, I don't know if you had the same thing, but we came from the northeast.

01:31:09.080 I grew up in New York and Connecticut, where states are like, it takes 45 minutes to get through your state.

01:31:15.000 Yeah.

01:31:15.880 And, you know, I got calls from family all over the place.

01:31:19.740 I see this, you know, hurricane coming in.

01:31:21.800 Are you guys okay?

01:31:22.760 Is it?

01:31:23.460 Well, actually, no.

01:31:24.380 It was a little cloudy for a short time.

01:31:27.020 Yeah.

01:31:27.300 And after that, it's been pretty much nothing.

01:31:28.680 Well, I think it was Sunday that we actually got some rain, and we got one of the bands,

01:31:32.600 and I thought, think of the enormity of this storm.

01:31:36.680 We're four hours away.

01:31:38.940 We're four hours away, and we're getting it inland.

01:31:42.380 Four hours inland, and we're still getting it.

01:32:59.520 So here's a, if we may, have an intellectual conversation about something that we are all really torn on, except for Stu.

01:33:07.960 Stu is just a pure capitalist, screw them all, let them eat each other under the bridge.

01:33:14.380 In any way. 0.97

01:33:14.900 I know.

01:33:15.140 It's a godless animal.

01:33:16.060 Yeah, totally godless animal.

01:33:17.080 None of this is. 0.98

01:33:17.980 Hates people.

01:33:18.440 Yeah, hates people. 1.00

01:33:19.280 Wants your children to die. 0.99

01:33:21.340 But there's a price gouging thing that's going on here in Texas with water and gas and everything else.

01:33:28.800 And I'm really torn on this because, I mean, you know, water is water.

01:33:32.800 You've got to have water.

01:33:33.800 It's life-saving.

01:33:34.700 And they're charging $99 for a case of water.

01:33:37.080 Okay, that's kind of a problem.

01:33:38.480 That's a lot.

01:33:39.160 What's a case of water?

01:33:40.140 $24?

01:33:41.260 So let's say you're, what, $4 a bottle of water? 0.96

01:33:43.960 I pay that at every freaking baseball game I go to. 0.62

01:33:46.700 Every game I go to is $4 water is a very reasonable price for water. 0.96

01:33:51.580 That's not even price gouging.

01:33:53.180 It's usually a buy.

01:33:53.840 That is event pricing.

01:33:55.340 That is legitimately event pricing.

01:33:57.060 If I go to a movie, I'm paying $4 for a bottle of water.

01:33:59.920 And you know what?

01:34:00.100 That is actually what this is, too.

01:34:02.240 This is an event.

01:34:03.260 It's a bad event.

01:34:04.200 It's a bad event.

01:34:05.120 It is.

01:34:05.520 Okay, so, but I still have a problem.

01:34:08.920 You know, but what about rooms?

01:34:10.500 Okay, a hotel room going from $120 a night to $321.89.

01:34:14.560 No problem.

01:34:15.800 It's a Western.

01:34:17.220 No problem with that.

01:34:18.300 It's not even a hotel.

01:34:19.200 It's a motel.

01:34:19.840 I have no problem with that.

01:34:21.020 Don't look down on Best Western.

01:34:22.240 There's an extreme scarcity and demand increase.

01:34:27.820 Gas at $10 a gallon.

01:34:29.860 When you can't get gas, you're going to pay $10 a gallon.

01:34:32.420 Right, and here's the thing.

01:34:34.240 And here's the thing.

01:34:35.300 Yes, should you have gas?

01:34:36.920 But once that gas station runs out, they're not getting any more.

01:34:40.540 How are you going to get the trucks to come in?

01:34:42.860 You need some mercenaries to come in and to refill some things.

01:34:48.520 You need some truckers who are incentivized to come in and say, I'll get that water there. 1.00

01:34:53.080 I'll get that gas there.

01:34:55.200 I mean, there's this balance between humanity and the truth of our better angels that capitalism needs to walk.

01:35:05.640 The Glenn Beck Program.

01:35:09.240 Mercury.

01:35:12.320 The Glenn Beck Program.

01:35:14.300 Starting today through Friday, we are going to be setting up shop outside of the front of our building here in Dallas, Texas.

01:35:26.500 We have a whole bunch of people who are headed down to Houston this weekend.

01:35:33.140 And we're asking that you can stop by here and drop off anything that you have.

01:35:42.540 It's a donation drop-off.

01:35:43.840 We're looking for baby formula, diapers, wipes, diaper rash cream, hand sanitizer, neosporin, new packaged socks, new packaged underwear, feminine products, reusable water bottles, comfort kits, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, blankets.

01:35:59.240 Please do not bring clothes at this point.

01:36:02.720 We just need those things.

01:36:04.220 If you would like to drop them off, if you happen to be here, our partners at Mercury One are going to be in and out of Houston quite a bit.

01:36:11.900 There's a tent right outside the door.

01:36:14.080 Sorry, we don't have the staff to do tours or anything else.

01:36:16.480 You're just going to have to just drop it up at the front door.

01:36:18.940 And we will make sure that it gets there.

01:36:20.600 Also, Mercury One really could use your help.

01:36:24.140 And it would be of great help if you would donate to the general fund because we play things very close to the edge on staffing and everything else.

01:36:37.960 And this is going to be a gigantic drain.

01:36:40.880 And we would really like to ask you for help at mercuryone.org.

01:36:46.780 Mercuryone.org.

01:36:48.000 Donate now.

01:36:48.660 We told you many times today the things that we are involved with.

01:36:54.740 We are raising a ton of money for the people who are doing the main food service at the, not the Coliseum, but the arena.

01:37:05.180 What do you call that place?

01:37:06.020 The Convention Center.

01:37:07.000 Yeah, George Orr Brown.

01:37:07.900 Yeah.

01:37:08.440 Just at the Convention Center.

01:37:11.000 We've been parked off the side of the road.

01:37:12.940 These Operation Barbecue guys are just amazing.

01:37:17.420 They are truly amazing.

01:37:19.460 And they're always the first in with food.

01:37:21.960 And they are going to be doing the George Orr Convention Center starting tomorrow.

01:37:27.040 And that's 25,000 meals a day.

01:37:30.940 And we sure could use your help at mercuryone.org.

01:37:34.480 Please donate now.

01:37:36.660 So we were just talking about the idea of price gouging.

01:37:42.940 And, you know, as Stu pointed out, at $4 a bottle for water, that's what you're paying at the movie theater.

01:37:50.100 That's what you're paying when you go to a football game.

01:37:52.620 The question is, yeah, but that's not what you pay when you go to a grocery store.

01:37:55.940 However, you go to the grocery store and they're empty.

01:37:59.240 So once they're gone, they're gone.

01:38:02.300 And who's going to get that?

01:38:05.360 The problem with price gouging, the philosophy against it, is this.

01:38:12.820 And correct me if I'm wrong, because you're better at this, Stu, than I am.

01:38:16.560 Because this has been an axe of yours.

01:38:19.000 You like to grind every once in a while.

01:38:20.480 I'm a fan of capitalism.

01:38:21.560 Right.

01:38:21.740 But the problem is capitalism solves so many problems because when there is a need, there is always someone who will come up with a way to get it to you.

01:38:36.240 You know, it's like drugs.

01:38:37.780 Why do you think the cartels are making so much money?

01:38:40.200 Because there's no way to get that.

01:38:42.500 Oh, I'll find a way.

01:38:44.280 And they'll build the tunnels.

01:38:45.460 They'll do whatever they have to.

01:38:46.660 But they'll get that product to you.

01:38:48.320 So the good thing about capitalism is if you're a good and decent moral society, capitalism provides people with the things that actually are life-saving and change their life.

01:39:00.820 Okay? 0.97

01:39:02.720 The problem with price gouging is there's a lot of greedy people out there who are just like, ah, I got a sucker born every minute. 0.99

01:39:10.940 I'm going to make a killing off of that. 0.93

01:39:12.480 But I don't think that's the average person that is doing this.

01:39:17.080 You're looking at a gas station that can charge $10 a gallon right now.

01:39:20.960 And that's because every other gas station is out.

01:39:25.280 They have no gas.

01:39:27.300 So if you go and buy their gas for, you know, whatever it is, and you're paying regular price, okay, that's fine.

01:39:37.640 But can that gas station take that money and go find a mercenary trucker that can go and find gas elsewhere and bring it in to that gas station? 0.80

01:39:49.660 No.

01:39:50.160 He's got to wait in line with everybody else.

01:39:51.920 This goes to, you know, Theodore Roosevelt, right?

01:39:54.960 It matters not how you earn your money, but also how you spend it.

01:39:59.720 You know, the issue here is when price, if someone comes in and they are the evil price gouger, this comical character that I never find in real life.

01:40:08.980 But let's just say that they come in there and they do that.

01:40:11.040 So if water costs $100 a case, you're not going to buy extra cases than you need.

01:40:18.400 You know, you're going to do that.

01:40:19.640 And look at the way the market solves these things.

01:40:22.320 The perfect example right now, we know in real life, is Uber.

01:40:26.060 The left constantly complains that Uber turns on their surge pricing, even in times like snowstorms, when people need to find extra transportation, and they jack their rates up two, three, four, five times the rates.

01:40:41.380 And people really need it.

01:40:42.920 That's what causes a driver to say, I'm going to take that risk in this snowstorm.

01:40:46.760 Ask your Uber driver next time, when they're talking about surge pricing, they say, you know what, I could leave, or I could do two or three more runs right now.

01:40:56.640 I could do two or three more rides.

01:40:58.440 And they stay on those, they stay driving.

01:41:02.600 It's not because it's to serve Uber's needs.

01:41:05.420 It's to serve those drivers.

01:41:07.160 And those drivers say, you know what, I mean, I could go home right now, and it would be easier for me to go home right now.

01:41:12.040 But I can, look, I can clean up on this one more ride.

01:41:14.760 I'm going to do it.

01:41:15.320 It's combat duty.

01:41:17.760 It is combat duty.

01:41:19.320 Think of this.

01:41:20.240 You're running a grocery store, or a 7-Eleven, and you have people coming in, and they have no gas, no water, no food.

01:41:30.780 You're sitting behind the counter.

01:41:32.720 They have nothing.

01:41:35.100 Your first instinct is to help, help, help, help, help.

01:41:37.940 Good.

01:41:39.000 I just want you to know, out of all the people that are coming to your gas station,

01:41:43.060 there are also going to be those who are coming that wish to do you harm.

01:41:47.040 And you, by staying there and opening and having goods and services, and we've seen this in every disaster, people do it, every single disaster, they start just breaking in and stealing what they want.

01:42:01.380 You are staying there behind.

01:42:04.140 You're risking your life.

01:42:05.820 Why would you stay unless you're just Mother Teresa?

01:42:12.160 And there's a lot of those people.

01:42:13.460 And there are.

01:42:13.680 Look at this.

01:42:13.900 There's a lot of those people.

01:42:15.040 A million examples.

01:42:15.700 Right.

01:42:15.980 Millions of them.

01:42:16.760 But you're risking your life.

01:42:19.880 Somebody should man the station to get people to do it, and not only just to man it, but also then to say, you know what, I've got a friend who's got a gas truck.

01:42:31.100 I'm going to go up, and I'm going to go buy.

01:42:33.420 I'm going to call my friend in Oklahoma or in Dallas and say, hey, listen, can I buy some of your gas at a dime over cost for you?

01:42:43.100 You know, can I buy it even, even I'll buy it at, I'll buy a whole truckload, and I'll pay 25 cents more per gallon because you don't, you're not going to get your gas, right?

01:42:55.960 So I'll buy, I'll give you a profit of 25% or 25 cents more per gallon, load it up on my truck, and get it down to me.

01:43:05.020 Why would anyone do that?

01:43:07.140 Why would anyone do that?

01:43:08.140 No one would do that unless I can charge more, I can pay the truck driver more for risking, you know, truck and life and limb, and that this guy in Dallas can make a profit too and sell that gas for more than he can sell it for at home because all the oil refineries are shut down right now.

01:43:29.980 There's going to be a gas shortage all throughout Texas.

01:43:32.460 Yeah, and I think when people talk about this, they always bring up this evil capitalist that just wants to rape the people in need.

01:43:39.220 So first of all, most people are not like that.

01:43:41.720 Even if you were charging four or five dollars a bottle for water, if someone comes up to you and says, my daughter's here, she's thirsty, she needs water desperately, can you help?

01:43:51.020 99.9% chance they're going to get that water.

01:43:53.520 99.99999997.

01:43:56.560 Look at the pictures of the stories we're getting out of Houston right now.

01:43:58.920 People are going to help if they all can, but the evil capitalist is always the interesting example here because you're talking about a person who only cares about profit.

01:44:07.980 The only reason they would be in the area at all is to make profit, right?

01:44:12.860 That's this person.

01:44:13.840 They don't care about people.

01:44:15.080 They just want money, right?

01:44:16.600 That is the example of how this is wrong.

01:44:19.860 However, let's take and enforce this law to the extreme and the way that they want to do it.

01:44:24.600 They just don't stay or they leave or they don't come.

01:44:29.140 So now your supply is lower.

01:44:32.060 There is less water in the area.

01:44:34.260 There is less gas in the area.

01:44:36.580 There are less needed supplies in the area because that person who you've told me only cares about money does not show up.

01:44:43.860 Well, look, here's the thing.

01:44:44.980 Right now, one of the things, in fact, let me get the name of this organization.

01:44:47.920 One of the partners that we have at Mercury One, the Provisions Project, okay?

01:44:54.900 Provisions Project.

01:44:56.000 This is a group that we're helping fund.

01:44:58.860 What do they do?

01:44:59.960 Right now they have 100 volunteers, 40 boats, and they are coming in with your dollars.

01:45:08.540 If you go to mercuryone.org now and donate, your dollars, some of those dollars will go to buying fuel, putting it into cans, putting it onto a truck, getting it to Houston, putting it onto a boat, getting it out to the sheriff's boats, putting that five-gallon tank and filling his boat back up, going back, getting more.

01:45:33.800 That's where some of your money is going.

01:45:35.880 Wow.

01:45:36.220 So, think of the labor involved.

01:45:42.060 Now, because this is charity, they're getting it for free, but we're still buying the gas elsewhere.

01:45:48.320 So, but they're getting it for free.

01:45:51.280 But think of the labor to get that gas to those boats.

01:45:56.200 You're not going to be able to, you're there and you're on the side of the road in your car.

01:46:00.380 Mercury One is not going to stop and give you one of those cans for your car.

01:46:05.000 Sorry, it's got to go to the people who have the boats who are rescuing people right now who are in the flood water.

01:46:12.300 You're just on the side of the road and you're not in the flood.

01:46:15.100 You're going to have to go find a gas station that has gas.

01:46:19.340 How much would you pay for gas?

01:46:23.280 You're going to pay it because you need it.

01:46:26.280 Yeah.

01:46:26.520 And it's rare.

01:46:28.160 I don't, I don't know.

01:46:29.100 And you would limit your amount that you purchased if you could get it.

01:46:32.700 Right.

01:46:32.940 You wouldn't, if it was $10 a gallon or, you know, $10 a case for a bottle of water, you're not going to load up the whole back of your truck with it.

01:46:40.060 Because you're going to think, you know what, let me just get what I can take and need.

01:46:43.520 And in a way, charity is the worst price gouge of all.

01:46:46.320 You're going to donate to Mercury One and you know what, you're going to get out of it?

01:46:49.360 Nothing.

01:46:50.480 These people in Houston are going to be the people benefiting from it.

01:46:54.160 And you're doing that and you're getting no return in value at all.

01:46:57.880 Yes, you are.

01:46:59.000 I know you're arguing capitalism now, but.

01:47:01.680 I think you, I don't think, like, you're not personally getting, you might feel good.

01:47:05.020 You might say, oh, I helped somebody else.

01:47:06.800 Great.

01:47:07.080 Yeah.

01:47:07.440 But I mean, your personal benefit.

01:47:10.220 Yes.

01:47:10.520 Is nothing.

01:47:11.640 And you know what?

01:47:12.160 People do it all the time.

01:47:13.240 And you know what?

01:47:13.920 99% of people who are selling water for $5 a barrel, a bottle, when it comes down to it and someone really needs it, of course they're going to help.

01:47:21.540 But I mean, you want to encourage people to bring these supplies to needed areas.

01:47:25.780 Here's a really interesting thing, because I don't know where this ends, where it begins and where it ends.

01:47:30.640 And for instance, water, water bothers me because it's water.

01:47:34.620 If you don't have water, people die.

01:47:37.240 So I hate the idea of price gouging for water.

01:47:41.420 Okay.

01:47:42.100 But I don't know where that begins and where that ends.

01:47:44.760 Let me tell you a story.

01:47:45.640 My Aunt Joanne and Uncle Dave, they used to own this little teeny house.

01:47:49.840 It was about a block away from the Puyallup Fair, the Western Washington State Fair.

01:47:55.220 Western Washington State Fair was huge.

01:47:57.520 Puyallup Fair, everybody went to the Puyallup Fair.

01:48:00.860 All over the state, people came.

01:48:03.020 Okay.

01:48:03.160 They lived so close to the Puyallup Fair that when the grandstands burned down one year, back in the 70s, their house almost burned down.

01:48:11.180 They were out with a garden hose, you know, spraying down the top of their roof because of the ashes that were coming.

01:48:17.560 But I will tell you this, they worked at the Puyallup Fair.

01:48:23.580 But then they also sold their front lawn and their back lawn for parking.

01:48:31.200 And I remember a day parking on their lawn, which they wouldn't have done any other time of the year, but we could have done for free.

01:48:39.080 All of a sudden, one car was like $35 a day.

01:48:44.500 Isn't that price gouging?

01:48:45.780 Except there's not an emergency.

01:48:48.440 According to Stu, that's event pricing.

01:48:50.320 It is.

01:48:50.800 It is.

01:48:51.800 But isn't this, with an exception of life-saving stuff, isn't this event pricing too?

01:48:58.800 I know.

01:48:59.300 I'd be interested to see what the Consumer Alliance in the state does.

01:49:03.680 Because in Rita, I was just reading last time, when the governor declares a county disaster, you can't price gouge.

01:49:11.080 And they prosecuted 600 people.

01:49:13.740 Wow.

01:49:14.240 600 cases.

01:49:15.240 I'm going to find out what those cases were.

01:49:17.080 Incredible.

01:49:17.960 A malicious malware called Sonic Spy has now been found in over 1,000 apps on a popular mobile operating system.

01:49:26.740 Spyware has a lot of functions, including recording your calls, hijacking your phone's cameras to take photos, tracking your whereabouts, and stealing your contacts.

01:49:37.340 Now, think of that.

01:49:39.980 Hijacking your phone, your contacts, your video, and taking picture.

01:49:47.700 Wow.

01:49:48.720 That's not good.

01:49:51.580 Here's the thing.

01:49:53.000 Somebody's identity is stolen every two seconds.

01:49:57.460 And this is how these things begin.

01:50:00.900 Now, nobody can, you know, monitor all transactions at all businesses or prevent all identity theft.

01:50:06.260 But we're not talking about your credit.

01:50:07.620 We're talking about your identity.

01:50:09.740 We're talking about everything that you are.

01:50:12.860 If there's a problem, LifeLock has a U.S.-based identity restoration specialist that will work to fix it.

01:50:20.500 LifeLock also uncovers the threats that you might miss, like Sonic Spy.

01:50:46.200 Mercury.

01:50:49.080 This is the Glenn Beck Program.

01:50:51.260 So glad that you are here.

01:50:56.840 I hope that you take the time to recognize all of the good things that are happening in America.

01:51:05.680 As I've watched this unfold in Texas, and I'm seeing story after story after story,

01:51:11.940 even, yes, even members of the press, not asking people,

01:51:17.560 did you vote for Donald Trump?

01:51:19.100 Wait a minute. 0.88

01:51:19.820 Are you white or are you black? 0.99

01:51:21.200 You're black. 1.00

01:51:21.840 Your white privilege is what's kept you in this home. 0.99

01:51:24.820 They weren't doing any of that. 0.83

01:51:26.500 They were actually going out and helping and rescue.

01:51:30.300 We've become Americans again.

01:51:32.320 And it may only last a couple more days.

01:51:34.280 It may be over by this time tomorrow.

01:51:36.240 But right now it's happening.

01:51:39.440 And let's take a moment and recognize that no one cares who you voted for right now.

01:51:46.340 We are Americans again.

01:51:49.000 The fundamental transformation of America may have happened in Washington, D.C.,

01:51:52.260 but it has not happened totally in our hearts yet.

01:51:56.200 When push comes to shove, we're actually still those people.

01:52:06.240 This is the Glenn Beck Program.

01:52:10.340 Mercury.
