On today's show, Glenn Beck talks about a death cult that has infiltrated America on the 2nd anniversary of the attack on Gaza, the guy running for AG in Virginia, Jason Mieres, talks about what does it mean to have an AG candidate who thinks we should put bullets in the heads of our political opponents, and Buck Sexton tells a story about how Taiwan is preparing for war with China and they need our help.
00:00:01.940We start with a death cult that has infiltrated America on the second anniversary of the Hamas-Israel attack.
00:00:08.900But it's not just that. It's Chicago. It's what's happening in Virginia.
00:00:13.400You have to understand that we are now battling a death cult and what that means for our civilization.
00:00:21.600Not just America, but the Western world.
00:00:24.480It's a fundamental cornerstone that is being removed.
00:00:28.280Also, the guy who's running for AG in Virginia, Jason Mieres, he joins us, talks about what does it mean to have an attorney general,
00:00:40.200the chief lawmaker in Virginia, possibly be the guy who says, yeah, I think we should put bullets in the heads of our political opponents.
00:00:48.420And Buck Sexton, with a story, he just got back meeting with the president of Taiwan and all of the officials over there.
00:00:54.840They are preparing for war with China, and they need our help.
00:00:59.960And he's got a pretty stark warning for us, all on today's podcast.
00:01:04.840Cold weather is coming. Here's a question most people never think to ask.
00:01:07.960If the power goes out in the middle of the winter, how do you stay warm?
00:01:11.260It's one thing to stock up on food and batteries, but when the grid goes down and the temperature drops, most homes have zero backup for heat.
00:01:17.540That's why my Patriot Supply has the Vesta.
00:01:21.120It's an off-grid space heater that runs without electricity, and it uses indoor-safe canned heat.
00:01:41.840It even doubles as a stove, so you can boil water or heat food while you wait for the power to return, and you'll be ready when you need it.
00:01:49.160You can get a Vesta and a bunch of other free gifts when you order the winter prep special for my Patriot Supply.
00:01:54.940Just go to mypatriotsupply.com slash glenn.
00:03:52.760So, look, the situation in Taiwan has never been more serious, and I thought that you, in particular, Glenn, would just seize upon the reality here of a China that is arming up.
00:04:05.820And I know people have seen these stories for years about problems in the South China Sea or problems in the Strait of Taiwan,
00:04:13.220but the cutoff in contact that has occurred in the last few years, the cutoff in trade, in travel between Taiwan and China,
00:04:21.780the arming up of China that's going on.
00:04:24.840Taiwan is gearing up itself for the defense of its island.
00:04:28.380And I met with the president, the vice president, their national security council, spoke to TSMC, which is a very important Taiwan semiconductor manufacturing company,
00:04:38.080critical technology for the entire world.
00:04:41.300I mean, they make 90 percent of the high end chips that we need for our phones, for our cars, and certainly for the AI future that we're entering right now.
00:04:49.800And, Glenn, the Chinese are getting ready for this, and Xi Jinping has said it's coming in 2027, and Taiwan is saying, you guys got to give us the tools, and we'll defend ourselves.
00:05:05.660It's remarkable to see, I think, the change in their society.
00:05:09.700And they want to be very clear about this, meaning the government.
00:05:12.920And, look, part of why I think they wanted me to come over and speak to everybody is they realized that not only is speaking to CNN International not going to get the decision makers in this administration interested,
00:05:25.940It's probably going in the wrong direction.
00:05:28.760So they want people like you and me and our friend Sean Hannity and others to look at this issue, understand it, and present it to the American people,
00:05:37.940because it affects us in very real ways.
00:05:40.680The problem right now is our manufacturing capacity for the weapons that they want to buy, and they're very clear about this, they want to buy them,
00:05:48.960they're not asking for any handouts, is strained in large part because of Ukraine.
00:05:53.920So you're starting to see that our military industrial capacity for just providing the tools to allies, the weapons to allies,
00:06:02.220they need to defend themselves is already at a bit of a breaking point, and China knows that.
00:06:07.100And they are ramping up their shipbuilding, their missile building, everything at a capacity that has honestly never been seen before.
00:06:14.580So I, you know, I have talked to several people about Taiwan.
00:06:18.460There is no, we don't have the supply chain to actually go in and, you know, fight a war in defense of Taiwan.
00:06:42.420No, I was going to say, this is the ballpark of China.
00:06:45.240China is not in danger of invasion or military incursion from anybody else.
00:06:50.760So the breakneck speed at which they are building out their military, and I mean, even in the last few years, I mean, this is relative even to what we've seen in China in the past.
00:07:12.780But also, beyond that, to project into the, beyond the first into the second island chain, and they want to dominate the Pacific Ocean.
00:07:21.740I mean, this is all part of the long-term strategy, and they're playing this thing out.
00:07:26.320And look, Trump is very aware of this.
00:07:28.320He's got his negotiation, trade negotiation going on with Taiwan.
00:07:31.140He's got big negotiations that are going to be happening with China.
00:07:33.960But I just think the American people should be aware of what a massive – we're talking about trillions of dollars of wealth that would evaporate from markets overnight at the beginning of an invasion of Taiwan.
00:07:47.380Never mind that China would be able to seize the most sensitive and important technology in the world right now, which is advanced semiconductor manufacturing done by TSMC, as I mentioned, and others.
00:08:20.780And it's a point that was hit on over and over, which is if you think that the Chinese are going to be dominating us based on military output and capacity in that theater of operations, just wait until they control the chips.
00:08:36.000And this is, again – I feel like it's very important to separate this from Ukraine, which is more of a – it's more of an argument about sovereignty and human rights and things like that.
00:08:46.180In this case, everything that you rely on in your life that is high tech, all the chips in your car, China would control them and control the supply of them.
00:08:54.840We simply cannot allow them to have that level of influence over global markets.
00:09:01.360So the best option here, as I see it, is prevent a conflict by doing everything possible to arm up the Taiwanese.
00:09:07.460They have an all-of-the-above defense initiative, a sort of deep societal resilience program, Glenn, where they're saying everyone is going to have to get in on this.
00:09:16.760Now, I did talk to them about maybe a little 2A, like how about you guys arm up your population?
00:09:24.260But certainly in terms of keeping the power on military and medical assistance, things of that nature, they're telling their civilian population to gear up for this.
00:09:34.680So this is something that's going to get only hotter in time.
00:09:37.560I think the flashpoint is reaching the unavoidable reality that the status quo is going to be shaken up here.
00:09:46.920And I know the Trump administration is looking closely at it, but I want everyone else to be paying attention to what's going on in this part of the world because it is the single area where we could have the biggest military flight.
00:09:59.780You mentioned South Korea, North Korea.
00:10:02.100And South Koreans are pretty armed up for that, I've got to say, and we already have a base there.
00:10:06.320Taiwan, I think, is a place where China views it as ripe for the taking increasingly.
00:10:34.220I don't know if that timeline still holds, but I wonder, I think when we see a war in Taiwan,
00:10:43.120it is not going to be like a war that we have ever seen before.
00:10:47.760I mean, just watch their drone shows alone.
00:10:50.660You're going to be overwhelmed with drones that you would just never be able to defend against.
00:10:55.900Well, this is where what we've seen, and again, this is a big part of my discussions over there and in the interviews that I did,
00:11:03.380Ukraine is really a proving ground for this new form of warfare.
00:11:08.060Whatever one thinks about that situation politically, the pace of drone innovation that is going on in that country is remarkable.
00:11:18.340It's incredible to see that they're able to do this as quickly as they are, and really what we're going to see, Glenn,
00:11:26.140is drones and AI and innovation are going to be a much bigger part of military readiness and military capability than we've ever seen before.
00:11:34.380I actually toured a boat manufacturer where, guess what, they're doing autonomous suicide speedboats that explode, essentially.
00:11:47.320And this is increasingly what the future is going to look like in terms of defense capability over there.
00:11:52.620So AI, drones, tech, it's going to be a whole different kind of war if this war kicks off.
00:11:58.900And if they take Taiwan, then they have the chips that we need to be able to defend ourselves.
00:12:06.220Is there any work being done in a realistic way to get that kind of clean room and ability over here in the United States so we can...
00:12:21.900This is where Trump and his team are absolutely on it.
00:12:25.780They're pushing TSMC, which is a company I keep bringing up.
00:12:29.800It's basically a trillion-dollar market cap.
00:12:32.500It's one of the 10 most valuable companies in the world based out of Taiwan,
00:12:35.660and they're the ones that make 50% of global chips, 90% of the high-end chips.
00:12:40.760They've opened a huge facility in Arizona, and I think they're getting close to being able to do 30% of their manufacturing capacity in Arizona,
00:31:52.520I made a commitment to the American people when I ran for president that I would bring America's military involvement in Afghanistan to an end.
00:32:01.260While it's been hard and messy and, yes, far from perfect, I've honored that commitment.
00:37:43.440That means protecting everyone, whether they're Republican, Democrat, or independent.
00:37:47.160Well, then my job is to work to stop violence.
00:37:49.860I can't imagine somebody who's applying for this job to be someone that has advocated for violence.
00:37:55.780And for your listeners to understand the context of this, he started these text messages because he was upset that Republicans had said nice things in memory of a Democratic delegate that had recently passed away at their funeral.
00:38:10.840He said he wanted to piss on the graves of his political opponents and obviously said he wanted to put two bullets in the head of Todd Gilbert.
00:38:19.120But I think probably the most shocking, again, to your point, he was told this was inappropriate.
00:38:24.280He doubled down, and that's when he, you know, fantasized and wanted to, you know, talked about seeing the children of Todd Gilbert die in the arms of Jennifer Gilbert, his wife.
00:38:35.620And what's so upsetting for me, Glenn, before I was elected attorney general, I served in the House of Delegates with Jay and with Todd.
00:38:59.040He's met and seen the children on the floor before.
00:39:01.760For him to say these things and in his words, when she says, you are talking about hoping Jennifer Gilbert's children would die, that's what he was texted by his colleague.
00:39:12.140His response was, yes, I've told you before, only when people feel pain personally, do they move on from policy.
00:39:21.580Glenn, in my office in Richmond, I have a quote from Thomas Jefferson that I see every day when I walk into my office, and it is this.
00:39:29.300I have never found the difference of opinion in politics, philosophy, or religion as cause to withdraw from a friend.
00:39:37.200And it's just a minder that even if I disagree with somebody politically, it doesn't mean I'm going to withdraw friendships for them.
00:39:43.200I can't imagine the mindset that my opponent has that he may disagree with somebody politically, and he would want to see two bullets put in their head and then fantasize about seeing children die in their mother's arms.
00:39:55.320That is a dark place one must be coming from.
00:39:59.580And he certainly, I think, in my opinion, completely disqualified from serving as attorney general.
00:40:04.800I mean, I made the point earlier today, because it is October 7th, isn't this the same kind of thing that had the Palestinians out on the streets celebrating when they brought the dead or the hostages back into Gaza on October 7th?
00:40:18.480Isn't this the same, this is, you know, maybe a few train stops before that, but this is what breeds that.
00:40:26.420You cannot celebrate the death of an opponent like that and wish death on their children, because you stay on that train and it becomes October 7th.
00:40:41.940Well, I mean, listen, we a long time ago in this country decided we were going to sell debate at the ballot box and not with bullets.
00:40:49.960And, you know, the Miara's name, my family fled Cuba and they saw what it is in a society where ultimately when ideas matter more than individual dignity, ideas matter more than people and their individual rights.
00:41:03.960When you don't view them as even human beings, they view them as, I guess, political pawns.
00:41:07.960That is a dangerous, slippery slope to go on.
00:41:12.160And that is, that is what, that is, the political violence will destroy a society.
00:41:18.600That's why I've always condemned it in any form whatsoever.
00:41:22.260I have never asked a victim when I met with a crime victim, whether they're Republican or Democrat, whether they like me or dislike me, whether they voted for me or against me.
00:41:56.940You don't, you don't talk about it in this type of language.
00:42:01.420And so, you know, he clearly has a very, very different mindset.
00:42:05.380He wants to use this office, I just assume now, as a sword against his political enemies, or I have viewed as an office to be a shield to protect Virginians, regardless of their political affiliation.
00:42:23.200It's now no longer right versus left in Virginia.
00:42:25.780And this election is about, in my opinion, a right versus wrong and a basic standard of decency we should expect.
00:42:31.000One of the things I think is being undersold about all these text messages is not just that he was wishing violence, but the reason he was wishing violence on his opponents.
00:42:39.960He wanted them to feel personal pain to change their policy, to change their politics, to change who they are.
00:42:47.260Well, I know when I swore, when I took my oath of allegiance, when I got sworn in this office, it was not to any political party or to a governor or to any president.
00:43:06.760And it was to faithfully execute the laws of the state of Virginia and to defend the U.S. and Virginia Constitution.
00:43:13.900That is a very, very different mindset.
00:43:16.480And at this time where political violence has emerged, where we saw what happened in Utah with Charlie Kirk's murder, I think that's given us all pause.
00:43:28.060Because Charlie was not assassinated because he had political power.
00:43:35.940He didn't write laws or sign them into effect.
00:43:38.420He was he was silenced because some people thought his ideas and his political views are so abhorrent that they should he should no longer exist.
00:43:48.000That is something that would shun you in polite company.
00:43:51.120If Jay Jones is applying for a job with your media company or job to be a line attorney in the attorney general's office here or to be in the cabinet of a governor.
00:43:59.400And this emerged, I would argue, probably want to get a job with you, Glenn, and you sure as heck want to get a job as a line attorney.
00:44:06.660Why do we want to elevate him to be in this position of authority?
00:44:10.240And I do think this is a defining moment for us in Virginia.
00:44:12.760I mean, if if, you know, our attorney general, who I really like here in Texas, if he would have said something like this, he wouldn't be in my front in my front waiting area.
00:44:24.400I would personally go out and say, you're not welcome in this building anymore.
00:45:09.200And to buy all accounts, they're continuing the campaign.
00:45:12.980Think about Abigail Spanberger asked for Ralph Northam to step down.
00:45:17.400As governor of Virginia over the blackface scandal from a yearbook photo from 25, 30 years ago, but is not willing to tell him to step down over text messages he sent just two plus years ago over a sitting member and their family and their children.
00:45:44.620I think that says a lot about where we are.
00:45:46.480And again, if Jay Jones was applying to be in our cabinet.
00:45:49.880And it came out, he wouldn't be concerned, but somehow because power matters more than people.
00:45:55.400And that is a slippery slope in our country when politics and power, wielding power matters more than decency and in people.
00:46:05.140And I do think this is now that that test.
00:47:00.140And I remember when I saw that, I said, we are in a different place in America that we now have a segment of society that is somehow excusing violence.
00:47:07.680In this case, against a private citizen, a business executive, they didn't like how he's running his company.
00:47:12.600And now we saw what happened with Charlie Kirk.
00:47:15.620And now we have this individual now running that is advocated for, you know, pissing on the graves of his opponents and putting two bullets in the head of his political opponent and imagining their children dying in their mother's arms.
00:47:27.880I mean, that's that is a stage where we are.
00:47:29.940And at some point you have to say enough is enough.
00:47:32.660And if your listeners want to say enough is enough, they can go with standwithjason.com, because I know that now, Virginia, I think this election, we're in the shadow of our nation's capital, is, I think, a real test for us as a country, whether we are now going to say no to this type of rhetoric and those that are that have, you know, fantasized about this type of violence.
00:47:55.300I will tell you, I think it is you're right about good versus evil, not left versus right.
00:48:03.980If Virginia, especially with all of the churches that are there, if they're not getting out to vote and say no to this, I don't think you survive as a society in Virginia.
00:48:19.240I think that this is a vote that says we choose life or we choose death.
00:48:24.340And once you choose death and choose to tolerate this kind of stuff, especially for just political reasons, I don't know how you can be helped, you know, spiritually.
00:48:35.620I don't know how you can find protection spiritually if that's what you're choosing.
00:48:40.180So I, well, we, yeah, I worry, listen, I, we, I'm worried too.
00:48:45.740We talk about in Virginia, we have something we call the Virginia way, which is the idea of basic civility in our political discourse.
00:48:52.020I think Virginia way is on the ballot.
00:48:53.820To your point, Glenn, I'm a person of faith.
00:48:55.620I think everybody I meet, no matter who they are, no matter what their political opinion is, I think they have amazing value because they're made an image of their creator.
00:49:03.980Right. They're an image bearer. And that's my mindset. That's the mindset I've had is as attorney general.
00:49:11.480And I will just kind of end with this. A wise Marine once told me that if you go to Arlington National Cemetery and you walk among those crosses and those stars of David, there's not an R or a D next to anyone's name.
00:49:22.880And to never forget that someone that thinks differently than you politically and given the last full measure of devotion to this country.
00:49:29.680It is a great mindset. That's at least the mindset I have tried to bring as attorney general.
00:49:35.660And obviously, Jay Jones has a very different worldview.
00:49:38.880Jason, what's your website again? People want to get involved in your campaign.
00:49:42.660Standwithjason.com. Standwithjason.com. That's how they can push back against this type of insanity.
00:49:50.140Jason, thank you. We'll be watching closely. God bless.
