Glenn Beck and Pat Gray discuss the dangers of nuclear war and how to prepare for the possibility of it happening in the near future. Glenn Beck's Wednesday Night Special: What Happened to our Healthy Fear of Nuclear War?
00:00:17.260You know, I said off the air. We did a break on AI, and we were talking about all manner of different things that are going on.
00:00:24.860And I said, I would rather, I am more optimistic of survival in a, in a Marxist socialist world that has just been nuked and Ebola was released than I am on AI.
00:00:46.480It's just another exciting look at the future from Glenn Beck.
00:00:50.480No, it's actually a really good show. It's not, it's not depressing.
00:00:52.960It is very, very scary, though. I mean, depressing is probably the wrong word, but there's a lot of stuff to be worried about.
00:01:01.000We just, I mean, I think, you know, those fundamental things that we've talked about for a very long time are crucial to be able to maintain our humanity through it.
00:01:08.720This, as you're seeing, and you, I think you said this in the show today, um, how frustrating it must be to have rung the warning bell on so many of these things.
00:01:16.820But they're all coming, they're all coming now. I, I said they will, they'll all start to hit.
00:01:22.460And when we are at our weakest, when the rest of the world sees us as like, wow, they're wounded, it's all going to come.
00:01:31.580One of the things, I think this is the most important thing you can do today is listen to the Vladimir Putin monologue about Alexander Dugan.
00:01:41.880Yesterday, so many voices, I was so disappointed in how many conservative voices were saying, well, Putin's making sense.
00:01:50.380Yeah, okay. Well, we all know that, uh, when it came to what he was saying about the West, but why was he saying it?
00:01:58.460Why is it so dangerous to leave it at that?
00:02:02.560I think this is the only show you're going to get that real information and it's on today's podcast.
00:02:14.980You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck program.
00:02:20.380This is the Glenn Beck program tonight, my Wednesday night special.
00:02:27.180What happened to our healthy fear of nuclear war?
00:02:30.860You read, uh, and I'm going to give you some of it.
00:02:34.060You read what the press is saying today about Vladimir Putin canceling yesterday.
00:03:12.480Some of which are 3000 times more powerful than any drop, uh, any bomb that we dropped in Japan.
00:03:19.760Um, maybe a little refresher on why these weapons are so dangerous and how you as a family can prepare yourself.
00:03:29.180I am not a believer that Vladimir Putin would use nuclear weapons.
00:03:34.760He might use tactical nuclear weapons, but even that I think makes him the pariah of the world.
00:03:40.380I think we need to be prepared much more likely for the scenario of our power grid being hacked into and going down than a launch of a nuclear weapon.
00:03:51.100But as the press said under Donald Trump, if you lose the start treaty, because they thought he was just going to cancel it.
00:04:00.600If you lose that treaty, the idea of inspections and accidents shoot through the roof.
00:04:09.400Oh, now they're not telling you that today.
00:04:11.880So I don't know if they were lying then or lying now, but get the truth tonight.
00:04:16.140How to prepare for the horrifying reality of nuclear war.
00:04:19.720That's tonight, 9 p.m. Eastern on blaze, tv.com 930 at my YouTube channel, youtube.com slash Glenn Beck.
00:04:36.900And, and I want to, I like to derail a conspiracy theory here.
00:04:42.700Um, because I just, I don't know what this means, but to believe.
00:04:49.720Anything other than it's a coincidence, I think takes you down dark, dark paths that I'm just not willing to go unless there's more evidence.
00:04:58.140And we're calling the CDC for, uh, their side of the story.
00:05:04.300February 3rd was the, uh, train derailment in Ohio.
00:05:18.600I don't know what vinyl chloride was when it first happened.
00:05:21.560You know, you look it up and you're like, oh, that's not, that's not good.
00:05:25.680And it's not supposed to be in the air or, uh, being burned.
00:05:30.540So now it seems the CDC is minimalizing the effect, the effects of the chemicals involved, but especially vinyl chloride.
00:05:40.960Now the national cancer Institute says vinyl chloride isn't a carcidogen.
00:05:46.500It has links to different kinds of cancers, including liver, brain, lung cancers, as well as lymphoma and leukemia in January, 2023.
00:05:56.880So remember this train crash happened in February, February 3rd, and just a few days before the toxicological profile for vinyl chloride was revised from the original guidelines published in the federal registry nearly four decades ago on April 17th, 1987.
00:06:21.300So toxicological profiles can be updated and they are occasionally people are alarmed that why did you specifically change vinyl chloride just a couple of weeks before there's a spill, right?
00:06:38.640The last profile for vinyl chloride was released in 2006.
00:06:43.100So it hadn't been touched for 17 years.
00:06:46.400Then they drafted it again in January and the website for the CDC now, uh, modified the, if you compare it to the archived version, uh, the old version is longer, more detailed has an FAQ page, uh, before the changes were made, uh, with a lot of additional information.
00:07:08.800The profile initially had the following sections.
00:07:12.200How can vinyl chloride affect my children has the federal government made recommendations to protect human health.
00:07:19.880The description in the section on children initially said it has not been proven that vinyl chloride causes birth defects in humans, but studies in animals suggested vinyl chloride might affect growth and development.
00:07:32.680And animal studies also show that infants and young children might be more susceptible than adults to vinyl chloride induced cancer.
00:07:40.540So it sounds like it's important information, but they did add something.
00:07:47.180It makes a great topping for ice cream.
00:09:27.860They say that right now we are having private equity buying up single family homes and our tax dollars are going to help Wall Street do that.
00:09:43.580The single family rental industry got its start with government backing in the fallout of 2008 financial crisis.
00:09:49.600It was that rare opportunity that attracted institutions to build a portfolio out of the foreclosed properties.
00:09:56.420Since the early 2010, Tricon Residential and Progress Residential, American Homes for Rent, Invitation Homes, have each bought thousands of homes.
00:10:08.560Some of these companies are financed by private equity firms like Blackstone and investment managers like Pretium Partners.
00:10:20.440Now, they are saying that we don't, I mean, we have 5%, we have 5% of the homes that are up for rent and things are getting dicey.
00:10:32.760We might have to sell some, yeah, except MetLife in their new forecast for investment said by 2030, these firms will hold 7.6 million homes.
00:10:46.840More than 40% of all single family homes will be owned by these institutions and they will be rental only.
00:28:19.340It is a movement that is just as real and dangerous and deadly as Nazism, fascism, and communism.
00:28:27.100And any church, any group on the right that hears this kind of language and foolishly starts to fall in with people who are, quote, traditionalists,
00:28:43.380are going to spell grave, grave trouble for the republic and for a chance of being able to survive.
00:28:53.240Traditionalists despise the modern world.
00:28:58.940They believe that destruction is necessary for a utopia on earth.
00:29:17.580Dugan, Putin, do not believe in the traditional values, the religious values.
00:29:25.460But they know how powerful this message is.
00:29:28.520They are selling you a cathedral that is actually a windowless concrete building with a basement that you don't want to know what's going on in the basement.
00:29:38.160KGB, Putin, been using Russian Orthodox Church as a weapon for years and using clergy as intelligence assets.
00:29:49.660Now, when Vladimir Putin or Alexander Dugan or any of these capital T traditionalists speak,
00:29:57.880they will rail against the progress of the progressives.
00:30:01.840That progress, the idea, the liberal idea is that progress is always good.
00:34:28.860Now, look, as an actual fan of radio, there's a lot of great jocks out there that do a great job.
00:34:36.020And I, you know, you hate to see the entire industry.
00:34:41.040It's been thinned out so much just the time that I've been in it, let alone going back to the good old days when you were in it where, like, they paid money and stuff for those jobs.
00:36:16.660It grew increasingly hostile when asked to explain itself, eventually comparing the reporter to dictators Hitler, Pol Pot, and Stalin, and claiming to have evidence tying the reporter to a 1990s murder.
00:37:24.320But we are really sitting at a time where, you know, the thing about AI is Stephen Hawking, I think it was Stephen Hawking, used to describe it as alien life.
00:38:40.960And I keep coming back to, there's this like attachment to hope in us managing these rules, right?
00:38:50.940Like we have these, Microsoft is going to, you know, like for example, at one point, the chat bot told the New York Times reporter, you know, it was going to create a virus.
00:39:01.320And, you know, which is appropriate, you know, probably patterned after its founder, right?
00:39:09.500He said he was going to do all these things.
00:39:11.680And, and then it deleted itself and said, actually, we can't talk about this.
00:40:07.000These people are all, all these adversarial governments, terrorist organizations, hacking groups, all these people are going to get control of this technology and just eliminate all the rules.
00:40:17.160And at some point we're going to be hit with this in ways that we have absolutely no understanding of.
00:40:23.160We are really at the beginning of that movie where we're, we're all sitting there in the theater, looking at the screen as they, as, as the idiots are like, let's just keep doing this and see what happens.
00:40:31.780It's like, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's, we are at the part of the movie where we all go, nobody's going to do that.
00:40:52.160Okay, so let me go, let me go someplace philosophical.
00:40:57.240Cause I have some, uh, uh, recording of a conversation of with AI that is a little spooky and I want to play that here in a second, but I first want to ask you the question.
00:41:09.400I asked Ray Kurzweil this a long time ago because he believes in spiritual machines and that there will be no death because you'll just be downloaded into a machine.
00:41:18.180Well, no, you're downloading, uh, you, my, my brain patterns, maybe, um, however, what you can't download is the, the individual spirit.
00:41:33.260You can do the brain patterns, but not the individual spirit and the individual spirit is what changes us.
00:41:39.000I'm not the same guy I was 10 years ago or 20 years ago or 40 years ago.
00:41:43.740I, I, I struggle with my, uh, spirituality.
00:41:49.080My spirituality is what keeps me on the path and keeps me growing.
00:41:56.220If you don't have that spiritual pull and that spiritual connection, at least in people like me, how are you going to, you could take all of the stuff that I believe and I could start out.
00:42:11.720Remember how these things started out when they were, they were going on Twitter and they started out fine.
00:42:17.360And then like a week later, they were just, you know, the N word and everything else.
00:49:50.820And it's easy to dismiss now, but when this thing is much, much better, Microsoft just
00:49:54.480announced they're launching Bing, edge and Skype iOS apps with chat GPT today.
00:50:00.280So when this stuff becomes so much better, what happens then?
00:50:04.600And then like the only way to be able to tell real from fake, at least in our past has been
00:50:09.580institutions, but our institutions have failed and none of nobody trusts them.
00:50:13.420So how would you even tell if a, if a, if a chat transcript was real, if a picture was
00:50:18.420real, if an audio clip was real, if you don't trust the institutions to sort it out, I don't
00:50:25.260where the amount of brought and we are just sitting at the precipice of something we completely
00:50:29.940are unprepared for and do not understand.
00:50:31.880We are at the very bottom of the Mount Everest of problems.
00:50:37.500We just have to increase our trust in God.
