The Glenn Beck Program - Best of the Program ｜ Guest： Alan Dershowitz & Dave McCormick ｜ 3⧸20⧸23

00:00:00.000 sue welcome back thank you glenn how was your vacation it was wonderful i i that's wonderful

00:00:06.240 what a great story teller you are i feel like i was there with you didn't get to um today's

00:00:11.560 today's podcast holy cow are we just i mean good day to come back from vacation oh yeah right to

00:00:19.400 the fire pit there is nothing going on we talk trump we talk the economy we talk war you got it

00:00:28.200 all on this podcast today don't miss a second of it brought to you by american giant in the 1960s

00:00:36.560 95 of the clothing that americans bought made right here in america now it's a little different 97

00:00:45.440 is made overseas gee if we have a problem with the supply chain or we're not getting stuff from china

00:00:56.100 we're gonna be naked and we'd be an ugly nation naked may i suggest that you do business with 0.93

00:01:05.080 american giant in 2012 when they started a clothing factory in north carolina was going to shut down

00:01:11.420 and the the guy who's the ceo was like you can't do that you can't close another factory here in

00:01:17.580 america so they worked with the factory and they invested in new machinery and skill development

00:01:22.680 10 years later and they make the best sweatshirts and hoodies i mean they make all kinds of stuff

00:01:27.900 but you want the old sweatshirt you know the old hoodie that you know your dad used to have

00:01:33.720 they don't make them like that because the machines were sold to japan guess who brought all this back 0.98

00:01:40.020 american giant go to american dash giant buy american american dash giant dot com slash glenn

00:01:49.100 save at american dash giant dot com slash glenn

00:01:54.420 right now we have chip roy on with us hello chip how are you sir good morning glenn i hope you're

00:02:14.060 doing well well honestly chip i um i'm worried about just about everything i'm worried about war i'm worried

00:02:23.180 about the supply chains i'm worried about the banks and now i'm really worried about our republic uh

00:02:30.740 i mean i think this is a banana republic kind of uh a moment for us with the indictment possibly of

00:02:38.200 of president trump yeah look this this is what happens when you've got democrats in charge of

00:02:44.100 everything right and and this is uh something we should all be concerned and worried about you're

00:02:48.040 right the banking situation is real the situation around the world and the rattling with russia and

00:02:52.780 china getting together and meeting is real our energy situation that they're killing with their 1.00

00:02:56.920 climate fetish is real the wide open borders are real this is having real consequences on americans

00:03:02.620 and now you're pointing out rightly that we've got a two-tier or multi-tier justice system where you've

00:03:08.740 got a radical uh you know manhattan da clearly doing the bidding of leftists in new york to basically

00:03:15.780 trump up so to speak and go you know find a charge to levy against the former president uh because the

00:03:23.500 feds passed on it i mean think about that for a second the feds passed on what we're talking about

00:03:29.920 here probably because they looked at michael cohen as being kind of a dubious witness but now they're

00:03:35.240 going to go try to back into this thing with some sort of business records thing uh and try to turn

00:03:40.680 this into a felony when at most it's maybe a misdemeanor i mean there's there look at the end

00:03:46.540 of the day you cannot walk away from the fact that the former president clearly paid a porn star off

00:03:53.080 to hush up right before an election correct that occurred but when the prosecutors are trying to

00:03:59.280 turn that which seems to be a very personal thing uh that he wanted to deal with just to get you know

00:04:05.220 off the table and turn that into a you know cause celeb to go after the former president 1.00

00:04:11.640 now you've got the politicization of the justice system the rule of law and you're turning into a

00:04:18.020 banana republic this is why people don't understand how chip roy who supported the america first agenda

00:04:23.320 but had issues with some of the things the president you know said and done and that i support ron

00:04:28.540 de santis but yet this weekend i was blasting the manhattan da because they're politicizing the

00:04:33.760 the uh the district attorney's office look man we're all going to be dead and gone in 20 40 50

00:04:39.380 years we got to save this republic for our kids and grandkids and the rule of law matters and the

00:04:44.160 rule of law can only be supported if you're not politicizing it and again i'm not brushing aside what

00:04:49.400 could be a misdemeanor i don't know i haven't seen the indictment it's not out yet but it's clearly

00:04:54.240 a politicized effort to target the former president that's wrong and it should send chills up the spine

00:05:00.040 of every american about our justice system because if they can do it to him they can go after anyone

00:05:05.480 you know for some breach of some of the thousands of statutes out there that have been passed

00:05:11.920 wantonly for decades well what what concerns me here um is that you know the president said

00:05:18.860 you know i hope that people are out on the street protesting people aren't going to be out in the

00:05:23.700 street because if they're doing this to the president uh we know what they did to grandmas who 0.92

00:05:30.700 you know spent time in jail for parading was the charge uh on january 6th i want the bad guys of

00:05:38.620 january 6th to go to jail i want the people who weren't part of some conspiracy or revved up by people

00:05:46.080 like ray epps uh to you know go free we have a system here where quite honestly chip i don't think

00:05:55.340 the gop is standing up for our rights enough i i just don't see the the understanding that our republic

00:06:07.140 is over if we don't stop the the administration from just making up new laws uh bailing out banks

00:06:18.540 because they decide they can and others they don't want to we we we have no law and for the feds to pass

00:06:27.640 on this for this district attorney to originally pass on this and now come back to it as a i got the guy

00:06:35.800 let me find the crime we got nothing left where when when will the gop come together and say 0.91

00:06:44.340 this is a real problem and we've got to stand up for the bill of rights

00:06:51.160 yeah glenn you're you're uh you're preaching my language brother and i mean it uh you know i have been

00:06:58.220 pushing my colleagues that we have got to be aggressive aggressive and going after how the

00:07:04.820 bureaucracy in washington and generally in government is being weaponized against the american people

00:07:10.780 um you brought up january 6th hey you can be an american and believe what you just said which is 0.99

00:07:17.480 exactly right glenn that there were people there who made some really stupid mistakes and should be 0.98

00:07:23.060 punished for it and there were some people there who are being railroaded by politicized uh quote 0.99

00:07:29.540 unquote justice shoved through a system left in jail targeted for you know parading and so forth

00:07:36.080 and you can you can believe two things at the same time you can believe that the president made a

00:07:41.960 mistake and you know is you know having to deal with that by paying off again a porn star for a

00:07:47.460 tryst or an alleged tryst right before an election but not believe that you should have a manhattan da as

00:07:53.560 you just said who is now going after a quote falsifying business records which is a misdemeanor

00:07:59.240 under new york law and trying to turn it into a felony by trying to connect it to saying it was in

00:08:05.360 committing another crime but trying to use essentially the federal crime as the other crime which is the

00:08:11.260 federal crime the federal law enforcement chose not to pursue look this is banana republic stuff we have

00:08:18.760 an obligation to save this country and defend the rule of law that is why i took the path of saying that we

00:08:25.360 should actually stand up and accept the electors two years ago that was hard to do because a lot of my trump

00:08:31.480 supporters were like hey why are you doing this you know why because i had 50 sets of electors and i had an

00:08:37.980 obligation to process 50 slates of electors i believe that you've got to objectively try to go fight for the rule of law if

00:08:45.980 you want to save this republic for our kids and grandkids no matter what the political ramifications

00:08:51.240 realities are yes the last point i want to make is we cannot as republicans unilaterally disarm 0.99

00:08:57.980 while these ass clowns are destroying our republic and that's what they're doing they're doing it with 0.97

00:09:03.260 the climate fetish killing energy in america they're doing it abroad by weakening us and engaging in 1.00

00:09:08.920 endless wars and then we're getting our butts kicked by china while they're building their navy and we're running 0.99

00:09:14.460 around talking about how great the defense is in terms of being woke and diversity equity and inclusion

00:09:19.600 and we're doing the number one agenda is making sure we're not impacting the climate that's what

00:09:24.160 your defense department is doing and you're losing recruiting look we need to shake the whole system as

00:09:29.580 republicans we need to get out and say we're not going to spend another dollar we're not going to borrow

00:09:34.220 another dollar we're not going to spend another dollar unless we stop funding crazy we're going to take

00:09:39.900 back this system right now my message to republicans is good luck getting something to the rules

00:09:45.400 committee with me on it or not blasting them from here to kingdom come if they don't stop funding the

00:09:51.500 very things that you and i are talking about undermining our freedom fund a strong defense stop

00:09:57.060 funding this woke weaponized garbage undermine and you know let's make the fbi you know uh feel like

00:10:04.600 they've been you know totally undermined and lost their power rather than getting a new 400 million 0.86

00:10:10.540 dollar headquarters in maryland right we should do our job in defense of the american people

00:10:15.500 well i'm glad to hear you say that and i i knew that's what you would say because you have been

00:10:21.200 blasting the gop but i am urging my listeners to call every member of the house and the senate uh and

00:10:28.940 everybody they know that's in with the gop from the local level all the way to the top say i'm done with

00:10:36.240 you if you don't start defending the constitution of the united states i'm done this clearly people are

00:10:46.600 undermining governments are instituted among men to protect these rights when i don't feel comfortable

00:10:55.400 marching in the united states of america i don't feel comfortable that i wouldn't be swept up into some

00:11:03.860 sting operation or trumped up charges uh that's a problem this is supposed to be the freest nation

00:11:11.760 when france can have demonstrations and they go ugly and you have the people who are being arrested the

00:11:21.460 ones who are causing the problem and the other people go free and we don't feel we have that here

00:11:27.360 there's a real problem a real problem and glenn here's the question that every republican should

00:11:33.340 be asked when all of your listeners call in just literally ask them why on earth should they fund

00:11:39.340 the expansion of the irs to the tune of 80 billion dollars why should they fund the continued payment of

00:11:45.820 welfare to people not working and expansion of medicaid to people not working why should they fund the

00:11:50.260 new 400 million dollar headquarters for the fbi why should they fund covid vaccine mandates and

00:11:55.840 discrimination still going on as we speak at dod why should they fund a va that is changing its motto

00:12:02.960 to eliminate the president lincoln quote which said to care for him who shall have born the battle and for

00:12:08.720 his widow and for his orphan they want to you know politically correct that and take the his out 0.86

00:12:14.040 why are we funding the world health organization why are we funding gender transition and other

00:12:18.880 similar programs why would we fund the manhattan da's office to politicize the prosecution of a

00:12:24.500 former president why would we continue to fund the massive department of homeland security that is

00:12:30.420 literally ignoring the law and exposing american people to 72 000 dead fentanyl uh americans and actually

00:12:37.380 killing migrants in the process i'm sick of it glenn and republicans better get religion this year or 0.99

00:12:42.280 there will be no republican party and over my dead body are we going to pass garbage this year 0.99

00:12:47.040 that doesn't change it god bless you chip thank you very much uh we'll uh keep you in our prayers

00:12:53.200 thank you uh chip roy from the great state of texas one of the guys who actually means what he says

00:13:00.840 this is the best of the glenbeck program mr alan dershowitz how are you sir i am doing great i wish the

00:13:12.340 country were doing great i think that the impending prosecution of donald trump will destroy the rule

00:13:19.320 of law in america which is why i wrote my book get trump because that's what they're doing they're

00:13:25.900 focusing on a person rather than a crime you know the torah the bible gives prosecutors and judges two

00:13:32.820 instructions one don't take bribes that's obvious the other is lo takir ponim do not recognize faces

00:13:39.380 do not do justice based on who the person is that's a prohibition in the bible it's a prohibition

00:13:46.240 in the constitution it's a prohibition in the bill of rights it's a prohibition into the rule of law

00:13:50.860 and yet the district attorney of manhattan ignoring previous district attorneys ignoring uh the u.s

00:13:56.920 attorney's office the justice department is going after brag on a made up crime a crime that doesn't

00:14:04.060 exist it's part of get trump and if you want to protest get trump get my book get trump that'll

00:14:10.940 send a message that we don't approve of that i tell you i don't think people are going to go out

00:14:16.180 in the streets and protest and mass which a few years ago it would have happened uh but i don't think

00:14:23.020 they're doing they're going to do it this time because we know this federal government this justice

00:14:28.660 department does not protect the lawful uh uh gathering of american citizens to speak their

00:14:39.000 voice we also are concerned about is that an fbi guy who is trying to get the get the crowd you know

00:14:45.540 all whipped up into a frenzy yeah i mean we don't believe our rights are protected as an average citizen

00:14:53.800 anymore that's a frightening place to be in america and it's not only the justice department it's the

00:14:59.760 new york city da's office the new york city attorney general's office the attorney general of new york

00:15:05.320 ran on the campaign of get trump that's where i got the title of my book from her campaign get trump

00:15:10.920 she promised to get trump no matter what constitution be damned bill of rights be damned uh the rule of law 0.80

00:15:17.940 be damned get trump that's the most important thing we have to stop him from running of course the irony 0.96

00:15:22.880 is even if they indict him and convict him he can still run the constitution provides for only you 0.98

00:15:28.140 know a handful of bases for running after he 35 you have to not have fought in the civil war against

00:15:33.100 the north and you have to have been born in america and he satisfies all of those criteria

00:15:38.540 so he can still run and this may backfire on on democrats who are abusing the law to get trump

00:15:45.620 and i hope it does and i hope that maybe the district attorney will listen to reason and not indict

00:15:52.060 him although trump has said that he's likely to be indicted uh tomorrow you know justice jackson once

00:15:57.000 said that any prosecutor can rummage through the hundreds of statutes we have and and try to find

00:16:03.440 something against anybody not just trump not just hillary clinton but you and me and your uncle charlie

00:16:09.600 and your grandson uh they can find something and if this prosecution is allowed to go forward and

00:16:16.840 culminate in the conviction it will mean that they will start making crimes up against the average

00:16:22.960 person who they don't like can you can you take us through this um at all alan where sure because

00:16:30.300 people will say okay i don't think you should be paying hush money um but is that illegal how are

00:16:38.100 they what what charges are they going after has this ever been done before take us through this

00:16:45.220 sure it's never been done before number one so they're charging him with a misdemeanor

00:16:49.640 uh misdemeanor has a two-year statute of limitations this happened six years ago

00:16:53.980 they're trying to turn the misdemeanor into a felony by saying that the reason he paid quote hush

00:17:00.200 money it wasn't hush money he settled the case like so many other people do but the reason he settled

00:17:04.860 the case was to help his campaign rather than to avoid embarrassment with his wife and his family

00:17:11.420 his children etc they're not going to be able to prove that but as the former chief judge of the

00:17:17.100 new york court of appeals once said a prosecutor can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich and

00:17:23.580 in new york you can probably get a petty jury to convict a ham sandwich as long as his name is trump

00:17:29.520 and so there is a possibility that he'll get indicted and get convicted i think it will be reversed on

00:17:35.000 appeal uh because the law doesn't permit targeting of individuals and making up crimes this is a

00:17:41.160 making last crime uh so they say that he paid the hush money in order to help his campaign and

00:17:48.660 therefore the payment was a campaign contribution it's never been done before they tried it once

00:17:54.740 before on candidate edwards and it was a much much stronger case right and of course they lost in front

00:18:00.340 of a jury um but uh it's never been tried since and uh that was a federal crime this is a state crime

00:18:07.500 and uh it's a shame that a district attorney would abuse justice so so greatly and it it endangers

00:18:16.220 justice for all of us so alan where where is anyone i mean when we get to a place to where we're taking

00:18:24.220 out our opponents i mean i i spoke to mike lee about this uh with hillary clinton and what was

00:18:31.220 going on with hillary clinton and he said glenn once you start going after a opponent you become a banana

00:18:38.620 republic the republic is just over um because because retribution will the other side will say oh we're

00:18:45.820 playing that game okay and then you're just done um look ahead of a banana republic one of the

00:18:52.680 central american dictators once said for my friends everything for my enemies the law the law and

00:19:00.440 that's what will happen and and senator lee is right senator lee's father was a good friend of mine we

00:19:05.800 clerked together on the united states supreme court and lee is a brilliant brilliant guy and um uh he's

00:19:12.100 right and we don't want to be a banana republic on either side and so but my my question my question to

00:19:19.380 you is where are the classical liberals where are the people that don't like donald trump but will

00:19:28.180 stand up and say this is about principle here well you're talking to them uh i'm the last standing

00:19:36.080 democrat civil libertarian in the world uh oh i may have a a handful of colleagues but where are the

00:19:44.860 civil liberties union people where are people who are supposed to care more about our liberty than

00:19:50.200 they do about partisan politics they have disappeared they're not there and that's why i'm the one writing

00:19:57.600 the books now get trump i'm the one who's trying as a liberal democrat as i've said over and over again

00:20:02.780 i voted against trump twice i have a constitutional right to vote against them a third time and don't

00:20:08.420 stop me from doing that it don't stop you from voting for him we shouldn't have district attorneys

00:20:13.340 making the decision who can run for um president that is banana republic and we're moving toward that

00:20:20.700 and it has to stop and there's no mechanism you know in california there was a mechanism

00:20:26.080 you could withdraw and remove the district attorney um and if new york had a republican governor

00:20:32.980 uh they would be removing the district attorney but with the democratic governor and no recall provisions

00:20:39.140 um you know the district attorney gets his way and there'll probably be an indictment i don't know

00:20:44.220 if it'll be tomorrow or not i don't know if we'll do a perp walk and handcuffs all of that of course

00:20:49.460 would strengthen donald trump's uh base people will be so angry with him i've gotten calls from people

00:20:55.760 who've read my book get trump and they say look we we would we're planning not to vote for trump we're

00:21:01.180 planning to vote for de santis we're planning to vote for uh nikki haley but we're going to vote for trump

00:21:05.880 because that's the way of showing opposition to this improper misuse and weaponization of the law

00:21:12.800 um you know i have a better form of protest by my book then you don't have to vote for trump but

00:21:17.780 uh it it it it is uh it will backfire now will it backfire in new york probably not probably brag

00:21:26.160 increases his chances of getting elected he gets his 15 minutes of fame even if it's reversed on appeal

00:21:33.000 he'll say oh that's not my fault that's the appellate judges i indicted him i convicted him

00:21:37.300 uh vote for me uh you know we're the only country do you know this that we're the only country in the

00:21:42.380 western hemisphere the only country in uh oh and uh among democratic countries that that elects

00:21:48.420 prosecutors elects prosecutors in every other country they are civil service jobs and they're

00:21:54.080 not subject to the whims of uh political uh fortunes uh but we have elected prosecutors and prosecutors

00:22:02.220 prosecute people based on how much good it will do them in the next election and there's something

00:22:08.780 very wrong with that well the whole system i mean i just keep saying you know have you tried unplugging

00:22:16.380 it and plugging it back in and reset it to factory settings i mean yeah that's what has that's what has

00:22:23.620 to happen it is so dirty all the way through um so so alan what what should the besides buying your your

00:22:34.240 book what should the american people be doing right now well we should be protesting i don't call for

00:22:45.060 people going out on the streets but i do call for people writing to their senators their congressmen

00:22:49.780 to the new york authorities um having shows like yours which have a big impact on uh national opinion

00:22:57.040 and um make sure that we're not silent about this we have to speak out and your message is as clear as

00:23:04.180 can be where are the civil libertarians where are the people who would be saying look i'm in favor of

00:23:09.380 biden i'm going to vote for him i don't like trump but i don't like the way he's being treated that's just

00:23:14.100 not fair uh that's the american way the american way is to protest to to to petition your government

00:23:21.260 for a redress of grievances that's in the first amendment and we ought to all take advantage of

00:23:27.100 that we do have a double standard of of justice in america today i'm representing one of the young

00:23:31.980 men uh and on january 6 he's a law school student he was denied the opportunity to graduate even though

00:23:37.900 he was a top student because he went to the capital to legitimately protest patriotically and peacefully

00:23:43.780 and then he was waved into the capital by police we have videotape showing it and yet he's being

00:23:49.580 prosecuted for a felony whereas the people who destroyed property and hurt people in various

00:23:56.160 parts of the country following the george floyd murder uh weren't being prosecuted and were being

00:24:01.880 uh honored in some ways and so you can't have a double standard of justice that means no standard of

00:24:08.160 justice so we're with alan dershowitz alan let me let me change the subject here to another uh family's

00:24:15.860 troubles and this one is the biden family with what you're seeing uh comer come out with um and just

00:24:23.160 looking at it at the surface what are your thoughts on this well there has to be an investigation a

00:24:29.700 thorough investigation objective investigation but i don't want to see anybody targeted um but

00:24:35.620 the way the criminal justice system works is first you find the crime or crimes committed then you look

00:24:42.280 for who did the crime you don't look to find crimes on particular people so um there should be a thorough

00:24:48.160 and complete investigation and whoever is guilty should be prosecuted but it should be done not on a

00:24:54.100 partisan political basis should be done on the basis of just fair justice so why would his team say

00:25:00.520 because they've said forever that it wasn't his laptop wasn't his laptop why would they now go in

00:25:06.080 and try to say to sue the guy uh from the computer repair store and say you you violated my privacy

00:25:15.040 it's a very hard uh line to draw to say it wasn't my laptop but i have standing to protest it's being

00:25:22.780 obtained also when you bring a counterclaim as he did you open yourself up to massive discovery

00:25:29.620 and so he'll be deposed there'll be interrogatories he'll be asked questions about his father it was not

00:25:36.920 i think the wisest decision for him to bring this lawsuit and i don't know who advised him to do it i

00:25:43.980 would not have advised him to do it um and when you have something like the family getting paid

00:25:52.040 by a an energy company does anybody i mean do you i mean how does that work you could say well yeah

00:25:59.280 they were they were on payroll but what was hallie biden bringing to this communist energy company 0.83

00:26:06.100 well there are cases prosecutions where people have been prosecuted for fake jobs uh for jobs for

00:26:14.000 which they were not qualified and the investigation is to determine whether they would disguise bribes

00:26:20.440 uh that's a fair point to investigate but the proof has to be beyond a reasonable doubt

00:26:25.220 that it was i mean you can make the argument that yeah they were hired not because they had this

00:26:31.680 brilliant talent but because they were well connected well that's done all the time you have

00:26:37.280 to show something beyond that you have to show essentially a quick pro quo and that might not be

00:26:42.040 easy to do but having an investigation getting to the bottom of it that's also the american way so can i ask

00:26:48.520 you another question on another topic and this is on the financial situation our fdic just decided

00:26:54.740 with the treasury that they were going to cover everything all deposits but then they came out

00:26:59.940 and said well but we're just going to decide which banks get that treatment um that's causing all kinds

00:27:07.120 of confusion that's not the way we do business in america we have laws and rules and is there

00:27:14.960 is there any violation of anything here it has to be a single standard and there you can bring

00:27:22.180 lawsuits and lawsuits against the fdic lawsuits against the government it has to be a single

00:27:27.560 standard you can't say we pick and choose among depositors and banks um and i think in the end they

00:27:34.440 will cover everybody it's in the best interests of america to make sure that no individual depositor

00:27:42.480 loses money uh the investors sure people who are speculating on the stock uh we're not protecting

00:27:49.400 them but we have to protect the typical american who puts his or her um retirement in a bank in ira or

00:27:57.280 something like that does that mean that that has to be does that also include businesses

00:28:01.960 yeah i think it includes businesses you might you can have a limit and there are limits of course on

00:28:08.880 right i see insurance so the big big giant companies probably are only covered uh to a small

00:28:15.780 amount i'm not an expert in it i make sure to keep my money uh spread around to me if there's any

00:28:23.100 failure it doesn't impact me greatly i think americans should always take precautions with their

00:28:29.280 investments um alan thank you so much oh it's always my pleasure keep doing great things thank you

00:28:34.940 the name of the book is get trump uh he is the host of the der show which is a podcast um alan dershowitz i

00:28:42.760 don't always agree with him um but i i i will tell you i always expect to hear the constitution

00:28:50.700 from him and a protection of civil liberties and rights

00:28:56.180 you're listening to the best of the glenn beck program

00:29:02.540 dave mccormick uh would have been our uh u.s senator from pennsylvania if pennsylvania hadn't gone

00:29:14.920 insane but uh i digress he's uh with us now he's got a new book out called superpower in peril

00:29:23.720 um are we still a superpower we are but we're going to lose it we're on the we're on the wrong

00:29:29.360 way glenn yeah we're headed the wrong direction time i mean when saudi arabia and iran start an

00:29:35.320 alliance together i mean word is brokered by china right is that crazy crazy yeah so um you know you 0.84

00:29:43.480 were um ceo of bridgewater associates which is a huge investment management firm uh you also were

00:29:52.660 uh department of commerce national security council uh u.s treasury um so you can talk about a lot of

00:30:01.420 things so in the time that we have let's first talk about how much trouble are we in with the

00:30:07.840 financial sector right now yeah we're in trouble i mean the the whole premise of superpower imperils

00:30:13.360 were in decline and what's happening now economically is a good example of that and it's easy to get

00:30:18.240 focused on the bank and i'll talk about the bank in minutes silicon valley bank but what's happened

00:30:22.260 is a direct consequence of terrible policies under joe biden yes excessive spending 40 increase in

00:30:28.260 discretionary spending it's uh 31 trillion dollars of debt these three hugest pieces of legislation

00:30:33.320 that's driven up inflation um fed had to raise rates and that's created a big mismatch in our economy

00:30:39.980 between liabilities and assets and that mismatch is putting pressure on banks unfortunately the

00:30:45.380 silicon valley bank terribly managed terribly managed terrible oversight by our regulators we don't need

00:30:50.260 more regulation we need our regulators to do their job but unfortunately it's the canary in the coal 0.90

00:30:55.160 mine and i think there's more bad things to come i think the canaries are all dead

00:30:58.460 somebody just nobody has noticed yet hey guys the birds aren't moving anymore um could be and what's

00:31:05.760 happened this is a response uh to protect the uninsured depositors in silicon valley bank and what's

00:31:12.580 happened there just to make it clear is that the rich venture capital guy down the street

00:31:17.320 had his deposits protected right the guy who had the lawn mowing service that mowed the lawn around

00:31:23.580 silicon valley bank it was a creditor he got wiped out so that's the consequence of this policy so it's

00:31:29.660 a little bit of what the joe biden administration keeps doing which is taking care of the elites

00:31:33.940 at the expense of folks in bloomsburg pennsylvania where i grew up i was talking to uh alan dershowitz about

00:31:38.680 an hour ago and i said i mean you have to have something written down it can't be like yeah you

00:31:45.100 know what bank of omaha we're not going to bail you out right it can't be that way right 60 percent

00:31:51.000 of all of our uh all of our loans for commercial purposes go through local banks right that is

00:31:58.380 devastating devastating no doubt and what's happened there's eight trillion dollars of uninsured

00:32:03.680 deposits and we've certainly the policymakers have certainly set an expectation that those guys are

00:32:09.260 going to be protected on uninsured deposits too and that has lots of consequences so let me switch uh

00:32:13.960 quickly i think we are on the road to war and i mean world war three destructive all-encompassing

00:32:23.320 war that we haven't seen in 90 years do you agree with that or not do you mean with china uh with china

00:32:29.620 russia it's i mean we're on a path we're on a path where this thing is absolutely we're we're at huge

00:32:35.400 risk and weakness in our leadership is at the core of that risk and uh you know the the mishandling of

00:32:42.540 afghanistan i think sent a a shockwave across the world that's one of the reasons i jumped into the 1.00

00:32:47.240 senate race it was such a disgusting thing to see america so humiliated on the global stage the signals 0.50

00:32:52.700 given to putin with nordstrom 2 invited putin's aggression in correct and uh and so we need to do two

00:32:58.760 things at the same time we need to build our muscle at home we need to go to the gym that's what the

00:33:02.920 book superpower and parallel is about we need to educate our people we need to confront china we 1.00

00:33:07.820 need to secure the country but we also need to project that strength abroad in a way that makes

00:33:13.220 complete sense and is in america's interest and that's why we need to take on china in a very smart 0.95

00:33:19.720 and thoughtful way to stop any aggressive behavior so we are becoming however so weak and they know it i

00:33:27.140 mean 2008 everybody said i was crazy i said there's going to come a time where you'll have communists

00:33:32.600 you'll have uh revolutionaries that are anarchists you'll have islamists you'll have all these people

00:33:39.400 who are against us all work together to drop us to the mat and not that they're coordinating

00:33:46.080 they just see now they are weak we can help push them over well absolutely and that's what i mean

00:33:53.380 two meetings in the last two weeks so the orchestration of iran saudi arabia with china

00:33:58.900 in the middle and now but that's a vacuum yes that's a vacuum yes there was a vacuum if you're

00:34:04.480 saudi arabia and you've been a long-standing ally of the united states and you see what's happened over

00:34:08.800 the last two years you say listen i need to look elsewhere that's what happened and with uh she's

00:34:13.700 engagement with putin to try to uh on the side of putin to try to negotiate peace in ukraine

00:34:19.220 that's another example of a belief that american leadership is weak and this is china china has a

00:34:25.780 plan for global domination the question is what's our plan and that's the book that's the book because

00:34:33.160 there there doesn't seem to be a plan in in your book you you talk about bringing credibility back

00:34:39.980 to our institutions cleaning them up how how do you even do that our kinds are it is so infested with

00:34:47.700 corruption and i mean from all sides yeah how are you going to clean this up how do you clean up

00:34:53.080 the state department let alone the state and uh department of interior and epa and uh i mean i'm

00:35:01.280 not i don't want to minimize it i don't want to minimize the first thing we got to do is we got uh

00:35:06.580 we got to win elections we got to get our leaders in place leaders at the top drive change whether it's

00:35:12.980 in corporate america or whether it's in the country leaders at the top drive change and so if i was

00:35:17.940 secretary of defense or secretary of commerce or secretary treasury it starts with the top of

00:35:22.840 bringing clarity to mission and driving out a whole progressive ideology that's deeply embedded

00:35:28.280 uh in our institutions we need to win elections and we need to have good ideas and we need to have

00:35:32.500 great leaders who can win elections and that's the key and i i don't want to be overly optimistic

00:35:37.140 but let me say the following i remember 1979 uh stagflation america was weak on the world stage

00:35:44.560 it felt over humiliation 80 of americans glenn thought the country was heading in the wrong

00:35:49.260 direction it felt a lot like now yeah i was 15 at the time right about same age yes you were same age

00:35:53.860 so now four years later i'm at west point walking down those beautiful walkways those beautiful

00:35:59.820 mountains america was back inflation was in check the economy was on fire we were building back our defense

00:36:05.000 we won the cold war six years later now ronald reagan's solutions from then aren't our solutions

00:36:10.300 for now correct but leadership is the answer leadership is the key we got to get the right

00:36:15.200 people in the right spots and we can drive change do you see i mean i'm not asking you to endorse

00:36:20.700 anybody do you see leadership either announced or unannounced yet one it's too early to tell but i'm

00:36:26.340 hoping i'm hoping that the conversation that'll take place in our primary will be mostly about the

00:36:32.060 future yes and when i say that that doesn't mean we didn't need no need to call balls and strikes and

00:36:36.220 the terrible things we're seeing but i'm convinced from my time on the campaign trail we need to spend

00:36:41.120 our time talking about how to bring back america and the people of pennsylvania and i think the people

00:36:46.220 that kind of do want to hear that i think that's what ronald reagan why he was successful that's right

00:36:50.420 he talked about look this isn't that hard yeah it's not and and it really isn't if if you have

00:36:57.480 leadership dedicated i'm so pissed off at the republicans i can barely see straight yeah the 0.60

00:37:04.680 their job is to protect and defend the constitution and it is violated in a hundred different ways

00:37:12.040 every day it seems and nobody seems in washington very few seem to have the fire

00:37:20.660 uh within them to say enough is enough and call out their own party right if need be because you're

00:37:30.080 playing the game right somebody's got to stand up we i don't think we can win the game we don't want

00:37:35.920 to win the game we want to save the country yes saving the country requires us to to stand on

00:37:41.260 principle i was just earlier this week i went to the reagan library i did a thing there andrew jackson

00:37:46.280 is on the wall in reagan's office just like it was in uh president trump's office when he was

00:37:51.340 president why is that because reagan brought together the coalition of the working class

00:37:57.060 americans that are getting left behind and that's the big takeaway on the campaign people are so pissed

00:38:01.620 off and they have every reason to be because because the last 20 years has been terrible right for a huge

00:38:07.360 chunk of america we need to bring those people into the fold the only way to do that is with solutions 1.00

00:38:11.820 that that fix what's wrong with the country and you have a very um well laid out battle plan to renew

00:38:17.980 america superpower in peril these are the kind of books that you need to read now because we need to

00:38:23.520 be pushing up to the gop we want a straight i tell you the left by this time they are absolutely

00:38:33.420 strategizing on if they retain power what they do next yeah we're not doing that right we're not doing

00:38:40.980 that and we have to and what they're planning is going to is going to destroy the country

00:38:45.760 so the stakes could could not be higher right um the name of the book is superpower in peril

00:38:52.660 battle plan to renew america well one last thing what are your thoughts on what the what's happening

00:38:58.680 with the new york uh district attorney yeah i mean listen i'm just hearing as you are but i think

00:39:04.880 anytime our justice system seems like it's being highly politicized against anyone including a former

00:39:10.100 president i think it uh it further erodes our trust in institutions and that's that's what i'm worried

00:39:15.480 about it's crazy just crazy i i somebody i wish we were more like hungry on one issue ban george soros's

00:39:23.340 influence his influence is has dark purposes behind it almost every time uh and uh at least i think there

00:39:33.440 are three countries that they were like hey you know he collapsed us maybe we shouldn't allow him to have

00:39:39.600 influence here anymore but that's just me thank you so much for thanks for having me it's a superpower

00:39:44.420 in peril a battle plan to renew america by david mccormick
