00:16:47.860You call your senators, you call your congressmen, you call, you write to every person in the press and say, why are you not leading with this?
00:20:05.160Well, one of the great elements of the deal, Glenn, is that we made a deal with Greenland and with Denmark that any kind of exploration of the natural resources, whether it be the fossil fuels, critical minerals, et cetera, that we essentially would have a say in this and have a veto on it and have the opportunity.
00:20:21.840This is to make sure that these critical resources stay in the hands of the United States and the West, right?
00:20:27.000Because everyone knows there's a land grab out there in the world right now.0.78
00:20:30.240You have the Chinese going all over the world trying to get natural resources, and President Trump, he's trying to plan for 10, 20, 50 years out.
00:20:37.280He wants another American century, and that means we need to control the resources right on our continent.
00:22:16.820yeah i mean the reality is you know change circumstances require you to change your
00:22:23.060position from time to time uh you know what has not changed is the overall policy that we expect
00:22:28.020this war to end uh that we expect the killing to stop that president trump is seeking peace for a
00:22:33.080war that never would have happened if he were in office right we know that um so that that's that
00:22:38.160continues to be the policy it's unchanged everyone in congress agrees war needs to end uh with respect
00:22:43.080to diesel supply you know in the u.s we have refineries we have refineries that closed in
00:22:47.080california that limited supply uh you know we have the europeans who refuse to uh you know
00:22:53.560develop their own fossil fuels and refineries in the in the degree they need to and so you end up
00:22:57.720having supply when you have the ukrainians blowing up refineries in russia so there's a there's a
00:23:02.680global supply crutch and that leads to higher prices right that's just how it happens and so
00:23:07.640if the president's going to make adjustments now and then uh so that americans don't have to bear
00:23:12.280the cost of a european war then that's what he'll do i i talked to a global uh leader um recently in
00:23:20.020a private conversation and um i asked him about the uh cutting off uh you know of all the resources
00:23:29.000outside of iran all of these banks and everybody else that has been playing you know under the
00:23:34.800table with iran and he said if if the trump administration really holds everyone's feet
00:23:40.900to the fire he said this is really going to affect iran he said i think the war will be over
00:23:44.800you know in a short order if they do it um i know they're trying to are is everybody complying
00:23:52.680with when it comes to iran so so the short answer is yes right and this is secretary best at treasury
00:24:00.220uh who has the the steering wheel on this uh but he's been quite aggressive on his uh economic
00:24:06.180operation against Iran, first hitting Iran and now hitting the facilitators of Iranian funding
00:24:11.720in countries all over the world. And so when you do this, it cuts them off from the global
00:24:19.440financial system. It cuts them off from the U.S. dollar and it chills transactions with other
00:24:24.660parties. So if you have a U.S. company or U.S. bank or European bank and they see some third
00:24:29.660party get hit with sanctions, they have these giant compliance departments that shut down
00:24:34.000everything immediately. So whenever you see this, it has second and third order effects that really
00:24:38.300cut these entities off. And I agree with you, the more we escalate on Iran economically,0.99
00:24:44.220the more likely we are to end this war. And obviously, we want the Europeans and everybody
00:24:49.520else to come along with us. Seeing this, that these trade deals and everything are really kind
00:24:56.340of in your purview, and especially some of these things, like we just announced Japan and U.S.
00:25:03.260just announced 21 billion dollar semiconductor project in new york it's got to be frustrating
00:25:08.080that nobody understands because i don't think people do they think oh you know my price of eggs
00:25:12.560you know has gone down but you know my price of gas has gone up or whatever and people are feeling
00:25:18.460the pain but i don't think there's a good storyteller out there telling the story of what
00:25:22.920the president is actually doing it's going to take as you said he is looking at the next 10 20 50
00:25:29.600years down the road, these plants that are, you know, planned and now starting to open up for U.S.
00:25:37.860manufacturing with jobs, this is significant. Can you give the audience any kind of clue on
00:25:43.700how significant this is and when they will start to see these things actually come online?
00:25:49.860Well, I think you've hit the nail on the head. You know, today I'm in Utah and tomorrow I'm
00:25:56.500going to go visit an 11 billion dollar investment by texas instruments in lehigh utah to build
00:26:01.960semiconductor semiconductors right here in utah think back to the pandemic people may or may not
00:26:08.000remember this for a time we couldn't get new cars we couldn't buy new cars and the cost of new cars
00:26:13.060went up and of course used car prices went up uh used car prices have gone down under president
00:26:17.320trump but part of this is because we couldn't get semiconductors from asia during the pandemic
00:26:21.900And so we're reshoring all of this. We're getting American companies to do more. We're getting foreign companies who make this stuff to come and build here. And it's increasing jobs. We have, Glenn, we have 72,000 new manufacturing jobs just this year. The last two years of Biden, we've lost 220,000 manufacturing jobs. I mean, this is the key. We're getting the jobs back. Manufacturing wages are up by $2,500.
00:26:46.020So those are the things that we need to, people, you know, we want people to understand because we get it, right?
00:27:05.740When will we see, when do you think that you just, it'll just be unavoidable that you'll be able to go, oh, my gosh, look at all the factors.
00:27:14.000Because I had dinner with the ambassador from Taiwan.
00:27:19.440He's not even an ambassador because we don't recognize it as a country.
00:27:21.980But whatever, the delegation from Taiwan.
00:27:26.840And we were talking about semiconductors.
00:27:28.900And I said, you guys build the best of the best.0.97
00:27:32.580And I said, you know, I'm very concerned of China.0.99
00:27:36.560And he said, well, we've just made a deal.0.99
00:27:39.060We're going to start building them in, I think he said, Arizona and Texas.
00:27:43.500I can't remember. And they've already opened up some of these plants. Arizona? Yeah. And he said, we've already opened up some of these plants there. We're going to make the best superconductors in the world, in America, but it's going to take us time.
00:27:58.560and you don't read about that to his well you know why you don't read about it because it's
00:28:05.020good news and also remember if you go to a place like texas where there's a semiconductor
00:28:09.200uh cluster or upstate new york semiconductor cluster uh you know and again these are red
00:28:14.640districts uh so that's where a lot of this is going why i can do everything on my end the
00:28:19.860president can do everything on his end to make trade fair again to incentivize production here
00:28:24.660But it's also up to states. So when I hear people from, you know, Chicago, Illinois, you know, the coast, complaining about some of these things, I think I can't fix your local policies. I can't fix your anti-business regulations. I can't fix your high corporate state taxes and things like that. I mean, I can do what I can. And that's why we see the manufacturing coming back to places like Georgia and South Carolina and Indiana and Texas, because they're business friendly.
00:28:48.440We are on with Ambassador Jameson Greer. He is the U.S. Trade Representative. I want to ask you about two countries, Canada. How are things going with Canada?
00:28:58.000well i i mean listen it's a country of 40 million people to our northern border
00:29:04.080uh back at back in the 60s you know we were selling all our cars up there the big three
00:29:08.720and they said we want to make cars here too and we're not going to let you sell cars in canada
00:29:12.600unless you unless you build factories here and so the big three did that and and so from the get-go
00:29:17.600canada did a very trumpian thing it said if you want to sell in canada you have to make here
00:29:21.040they've had a really good deal with america for decades they've sold duty-free uh here into the
00:29:26.260United States. That's what they've done. President Trump, as you know, he's changing his trade
00:29:30.400relations with all of our, with all of our trading partners. We have a $60 billion trade deficit with
00:29:35.040Canada. When he came in, it's down to 45 billion. He's trying to balance everything out. He's trying
00:29:39.480to manufacture here jobs that could be in other countries, whether it's Canada or Mexico or China,
00:29:44.620wherever he wants them here. And so we've had talks with the Canadians. We don't agree on the
00:29:50.300terms of a potential deal. That's really all it comes down to. You know, we're going to have some
00:29:54.580level of tariffs and they don't want it here's what i'm really concerned about is they seemed1.00
00:30:00.380hell-bent on turning to china we can't have we cannot have them as a as a proxy for china and
00:30:09.520the things that they asked for in the trade deal where they could reflag their the chinese products0.98
00:30:14.800that would be sent in to canada is just unacceptable have we made any you know inroads
00:30:21.740on that? I mean, this is a core issue, Glenn. I'm glad you raised it. You know, a lot of times if
00:30:27.620you look at Canadian media over the past year and a half, a lot of their officials, federal and
00:30:32.080provincial, they were saying things like we need to build fortress North America, etc. I mean,
00:30:36.760our view is, you know, we're not a fortress, right? We're just trying to, you know, get
00:30:40.680manufacturing and manufacturing jobs for our people. But I said, fine, then if we're going
00:30:44.500to protect our borders from dumped steel and aluminum and all these things and give you a
00:30:49.360past, then you need to do it too, right? You also have to put tariffs up. If you look at Mexico,
00:30:54.360they've been putting tariffs up on China and others. Canada right now is interested in doing
00:30:59.520that necessarily. And to your point, they've given the Chinese car manufacturers a quota.
00:31:04.580They're going to import cars from China. They've talked about having investment in cars from China.
00:31:08.760We're obviously not going to accept that. We don't sell Chinese cars in America. So their economic
00:31:14.700program, which they're entitled to have as, you know, a country, it has a lot of inconsistency
00:31:19.400with what President Trump is trying to do. And so until those inconsistencies are adequately
00:31:23.700resolved, you know, I think we'll just be where we are. But remember, our growth rate annually is
00:31:28.880higher than Canada's. You know, they have six and a half percent unemployment. We're at, you know,
00:31:33.140about four, 4.1 percent, which is, you know, full employment, according to the Fed. So President
00:31:38.200Trump's economy is doing well. We're in manufacturing expansion. And listen, people
00:31:43.680wanted us to do things like canada they joined the trans-pacific partnership years ago to open0.74
00:31:47.180their markets to asia and look where it is right we didn't do that uh you know they want to be
00:31:51.780globalists with the eu we're we're against that we want to have more manufacturing here we want
00:31:56.000to reverse the negative things that happened with nafta or things that could have happened with tpp
00:32:00.400so as long as their trade policy is different then it's going to be hard to have a completely
00:32:06.240open relationship with them ambassador can you explain i don't think people really understand
00:32:13.000how much trouble europe is in i mean volkswagen just took two of their plants shut them down
00:32:21.160and then lease them out or sold them i don't remember which to china that's never happened
00:32:26.440before you know europe is losing its ability to make anything while we're trying to get back on
00:32:33.940that bandwagon they don't seem to be interested in this what happens when a country just starts
00:32:39.660doing what europe is doing well they they lose hard power right people talk about soft power
00:32:46.560and the rules-based international order and going around and working things out through negotiation
00:32:50.740you know and that's one thing within the boundaries of the united states where we have
00:32:54.440the constitution we have a robust legal system etc but in the international world i mean we it's the
00:32:59.580real world right and it's and it's a power play and if you don't have hard power which means
00:33:04.200manufacturing, then you don't have soft power either, right? No one's going to listen to you
00:33:09.520if you don't have, you know, what you need. As I think Napoleon said, how many legions does the
00:33:15.120Pope have, right? It's a little bit that story. And so they are slow to take action. Ten years
00:33:20.360ago, President Trump started putting tariffs on the Chinese, on Chinese vehicles, and the
00:33:26.080Europeans didn't do it. Here we are 10 years later, and they're still very slow to do it.
00:33:30.940So I think they should take action to protect their economy.
00:33:34.640It's not about being anti-any country.
00:33:36.280It's about protecting their own culture, their own industries, and being strong.
00:39:20.480Why? Because last January, when shopkeepers and merchants crossed around, shut their doors, and poured into the streets, security forces grabbed her in a bazaar.
00:39:31.380Rights groups say they beat her during the arrest.
00:39:34.740Then they put her into solitary confinement for about three months, pressed her for a confession, and denied her the lawyer of her choosing.
00:39:43.360In August, the Revolutionary Court gave her 12 and a half years for acting against national security.
00:39:49.280Did she kill pregnant people? No. No. Was she acting violent? No.
00:39:57.860She was taking to the streets and protesting, and they're going to execute her.
00:40:02.960Now, according to the Guardian, the state wants her life.
00:40:07.140The charge is, you ready? Here's what she did. Here's what she did.0.99
00:42:09.460But the minute you take your Sharia law out and say, no, you cannot have coffee, we're banning all coffee, and anybody who has coffee, that's a Latter-day Saint that I am dead set against.0.99
00:42:27.960And every Muslim should be dead set against anybody who goes into a butcher shop and says, you cannot have pork in here.0.99
00:42:36.500No, I'm sorry, you're in the United States of America.1.00
00:42:38.720Get your ass over to Saudi Arabia if that's what you want.0.99
