00:01:14.040 join us tomorrow night at 8 p.m. Eastern Time, and you'll be able to find that again at my Facebook

00:01:21.460 page, blazetv.com, or mercuryone.org. Here's the podcast.

00:01:34.900 You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck program.

00:01:42.920 Walking the streets of New York in his disco boots, Mr. Bill O'Reilly. Hello, Bill. How are you?

00:01:50.620 Just call me super fly. Yeah, yeah, yeah. How are things?

00:01:57.760 Busy, like you. You know, we're moguls.

00:02:01.680 Yeah, oh yeah. No, I know. I know. And you got another book out. What a surprise. Yeah, I know.

00:02:07.020 Yeah.

00:02:07.760 He's actually got Killing Crazy Horse, and maybe, maybe I'll give you a couple of minutes to mention

00:02:12.660 your new book, Killing Crazy Horse, which has been a New York Times bestseller now for

00:02:17.780 God knows how long, and you can get it wherever books are sold. I might allow you to say that a

00:02:23.860 little later. Very kind of you, Beck, but that's the, you know, that's your general disposition.

00:02:28.800 Very generous, very kind. Yeah, so you seem to be kind of in a happy mood. Tell me about what

00:02:34.560 happened with Donald Trump last night, what your take is, and was it enough, and is it soon enough?

00:02:41.360 Well, Trump won the debate. He was more commanding, and he had a very self-assured fact-based

00:02:54.000 presentation primarily. So there wasn't a lot of immature nonsense that we saw in the first debate.

00:03:01.160 Biden held his own, though, and Biden was much better than he has been in recent memory in the

00:03:09.760 sense that he was able to get his opinion across, and you knew what he was talking about. He faltered

00:03:16.600 at the end when he got tired. You could see he was looking at his watch. You know, he's going,

00:03:21.400 listen, do I get milk or not? I haven't been up this late since 1946. It was one of those things,

00:03:30.480 and you know, you know, when you get tired, it's late, you get cracked. So Biden faltered a little

00:03:35.280 bit at the end, but he held his own. But let's talk about Trump, because it was all about him

00:03:41.500 last night in the sense that if he had not performed well, he would have lost the election.

00:03:46.960 So he's put himself back into play in the sense that I don't believe any of this. There aren't

00:03:53.840 any undecided voters. I'll believe any of that. He also, I think, made gains among African-Americans,

00:04:00.380 because that was his strongest suit last night. He was good. You know, he said, look, this is what

00:04:05.740 I've done. And then Biden does what Biden always does. You know, and for eight years, Biden and Obama

00:04:14.060 didn't do a damn thing. And 47 years, 47 in the Senate.

00:04:20.900 It's a different thing, though. Look, Biden and Obama had an opportunity to reshape the debate in

00:04:29.860 this country on race, and they did not do it. So they didn't elevate. They didn't say, look,

00:04:34.960 we got a problem here because there's a terrible education system in the poor neighborhoods.

00:04:40.720 It's impacting on the children negatively, and they're growing up and they're committing

00:04:44.700 more crimes proportionally than whites. That's what it's all about. 1.00

00:04:49.740 Well, Bill, Bill, Bill, let me remind you what Joe Biden said. They had a Republican Congress.

00:04:58.760 Oh, yeah. OK. So there wasn't even the debate. And I know this because I, on more than one

00:05:05.420 occasion, spoke to the president off the record about this, because I was involved with the

00:05:12.320 Brothers Keeper program. We can talk about that a little later on if you want. But I'm telling

00:05:17.180 you the exact truth, that they weren't able to get the discussion into the public arena. And I don't

00:05:24.980 even know how hard they tried. So he comes on. And of course, with his usual bombast, Donald Trump,

00:05:32.040 the greatest president for blacks is Abraham Lincoln. I don't know if you really need that. 1.00

00:05:37.760 Maybe you say since Martin Van Buren. You probably want to leave Lincoln out of it. However, he doesn't.

00:05:46.440 Yeah. And then he goes on to list an impressive array of accomplishments that help African-Americans.

00:05:56.240 Yeah. So he may have cleaved some votes off there. I mean, I was watching it with Ice Cube and we were

00:06:03.740 both impressed. That's not true. So, no, you weren't with Ice Cube because I know you guys hang out all the

00:06:12.000 time. And I invited him, but I don't know where he was last night and I really don't want to know.

00:06:17.340 OK, so. So, Bill, what was the big takeaway last night? Was it that he is he's only banning fracking on

00:06:28.060 federal land? Oh, that what a disaster that was. Yeah. And I am going to I am going to get rid of

00:06:35.140 fossil fuels and and oil by 2035. So we've got 14 years at the end when he started in on that. I

00:06:43.580 expected him to say and flush toilets. Forget it. You've got to go outside again. You know, it was

00:06:50.900 really that could very well hurt him in Pennsylvania and Ohio and Texas. You know, he's going to win

00:06:59.920 Texas anyway. Trump will. Be careful. Look, Beck, I'm telling you, Beck, you want to pull a little.

00:07:08.700 No, I would not bet, but I wouldn't bet. I wouldn't bet either way on this election. I mean,

00:07:15.340 I have no idea what's going on, but I will tell you, I just talked to somebody. In fact, let me read

00:07:20.300 the email that I got last night and it was very, very positive. Glenn had extensive briefing on

00:07:28.920 inside polling numbers from the field, extremely different from what most of the national media

00:07:33.200 is showing. Based on the numbers right now, Trump is doing very good in the battleground states.

00:07:38.060 Interestingly, interestingly, numbers currently show Texas is more of a problem than several of

00:07:44.180 the battleground states. Democrats are crushing Republicans in the urban and suburban areas,

00:07:49.880 but it looks like the rural areas are outperforming, which may make the difference in Texas.

00:07:55.500 All right. I mean, I heard that Cruz was going to lose last time and that Beto O'Rourke was going

00:08:02.260 to be the number. Look, you know. I know. I know. But Cruz did lose. Cruz won by how many? Five points?

00:08:09.500 Two points. I mean, six points. I believe it was. I mean, I'm going to put everybody to rest.

00:08:16.500 I'm calling Texas for Trump now. So just put it on that little board. Here you have.

00:08:22.380 Now we're going to be banned by Twitter and Facebook. Google's going to send their police

00:08:26.500 squad out. But, you know, it is going to be a close election. I do believe that. I think

00:08:32.060 that last night in the debate, Trump helped himself more than Biden did. And that's always how you

00:08:40.100 calibrate a winner. Always in a debate. Who helped themselves more? Trump did because he didn't come

00:08:48.540 across as O'Fish. Word of the day, O'Fish. O-A-F-I-S-H. I eat O'Fish all the time. You don't have to

00:08:56.920 spell it. You need a tutor and I will pick it up.

00:09:00.920 So, Bill, is it was it enough in time?

00:09:08.360 Yeah. Oh, yeah. Look, we're living in a in a warp speed age. And between now and election

00:09:16.880 day, you're going to have a lot more. How much money did Biden take from Ukraine? I mean,

00:09:22.660 that story isn't going away. And I caution everybody on this story. I believe myself

00:09:28.840 that Joe Biden is an old time Paul that enriched his family because of his public service. That's

00:09:36.640 what I believe. And it is entirely possible that he enriched himself in the process.

00:09:43.280 OK, I always think about Gerald Ford, a guy from Grand Rapids, Michigan, without a penny.

00:09:49.220 And he retires to Palm Springs and living in a lavish mansion. How did that happen? Anyway,

00:09:55.840 I believe that story, but I caution people about the details of it. This is a lot of stuff we

00:10:05.140 haven't nailed down yet. So don't be running around. But that thing is in play. And, you know,

00:10:12.200 people, they hear things. If there is more that comes forth that shows Biden as vice president and

00:10:22.500 senator enriched himself and his family, that's going to be huge. So that's there. And Trump was

00:10:31.380 pretty good last night getting that out, even though the debate moderator, who I thought did

00:10:36.880 a pretty good job, Miss Welker, every time he tried to do it, she jumped in and diverted the 0.98

00:10:44.680 question away. It was like Leslie Stahl when you saw the 60 Minutes interview, which I think

00:10:50.520 everybody should watch the whole thing, not not the edited version on site. You know, Trump

00:10:55.380 looked at her and he goes, well, are you kidding me? This is the biggest story, political story.

00:10:59.420 And she goes, and it hasn't verified. We haven't verified it. For two and a half years,

00:11:07.500 CBS News pounded the guy in a Russian collusion. It was not one single thing verified. And every

00:11:14.300 night you did it. And now you wouldn't even discuss this Biden thing with Trump. I mean,

00:11:21.360 Americans, some of them are stupid, Beck, but most of them aren't stupid. They get it. 1.00

00:11:27.260 They see the fixes in. They're suspicious of Joe Biden. I mean, a good thing about Trump is that

00:11:34.320 we know everything about Trump. All right. We know it. If you're in the United States of Trump,

00:11:40.360 you know him. You're not going to be surprised in the next nine days. Biden, you might be.

00:11:47.220 I think there's a couple of things here on this. I thought Donald Trump did a great job last night

00:11:53.180 going. They spent forty six million dollars in three and three quarters years trying to discredit

00:12:00.160 me, trying to dig up anything on me, the family, our business, et cetera. They got nothing. They got

00:12:06.280 nothing. He said, give me a million bucks. I think I can find a lot on this guy.

00:12:11.240 Listen, he made some excellent points. Donald Trump did. But you raise the question. Is it enough?

00:12:20.080 And it isn't enough for the people who hate him. And there was one other thing. And he left a couple

00:12:26.000 of opportunities on, you know, as I said last night, I just can't believe he didn't bring up when they

00:12:32.540 would talk at the border. Look at Biden and say, oh, you want to explain to me why the American

00:12:37.880 taxpayer should pay all the health care costs for undocumented aliens? That's a knockout blow. 1.00

00:12:45.620 So rather than being on the defense, you bring stuff like that. I kept waiting for it. It never

00:12:50.800 happened. And on the covid, which if Trump loses, it'll be because of covid. That's why. All he had

00:12:59.060 to do was look into the camera and say, you know, in hindsight, I wish I had been more pro mask. I wish

00:13:05.220 I had encouraged that a little bit more than I did. But we didn't know we were getting conflicted

00:13:11.480 information. And the major things that I did saved a lot of lives. But he'll never make that kind of

00:13:17.900 a concession. But anyway, going forward, which I think everybody wants to do now, Trump has a real

00:13:27.860 chance to win. And the polls are bogus. We know that the polls I'm watching are Rasmussen and Trafalgar,

00:13:37.120 both of which were right last time, four years ago. And they both show him, you know, and not in a

00:13:45.620 great position, but not in a dire position. He could win. Fall is in the air. And for me, that means saying

00:13:51.880 goodbye to the Texas heat, at least for a couple of months until it's back again. But I don't know

00:13:57.120 about you. I'm not ready to hang up my grilling apron just yet. That's because I have the smartest,

00:14:01.480 best grill out there. It's the Rectech. With its smart grill technology, I can be cooking on just

00:14:07.700 about anything I want to delicious perfection. I've never been able to cook a good steak. Never

00:14:12.880 until I got the Rectech. You don't even have to stand there. It has smart grill technology. You can be

00:14:18.580 inside. You can be someplace else. And all of a sudden, your ribs are cooked perfectly. The Rectech

00:14:24.620 is sleek, beautiful, made with heavy stainless steel. It's like grilling on a tank. Make sure

00:14:29.800 you check out the difference. A, B, compare. Go to their website now and look and see the difference

00:14:36.160 of a Rectech with their smart grill technology. R-E-C-T-E-Q dot com. That's R-E-C-T-E-Q dot com.

00:14:44.360 Rectech. Smart grill technology. R-E-C-T-E-Q dot com.

00:14:53.160 The best of the Glenn Beck program.

00:15:06.360 Sorry to wake you up. I know you probably had more drinking than we did in your coverage

00:15:13.020 of the debate last night. Well, I think Biden attacked us and the joke was P-O-U-R. He was 0.74

00:15:21.120 implying that we drink too much. And when someone excuses you of that, the first thing you want to

00:15:25.880 do is have a drink. Right. I'm just a poor boy. Nobody loves me. Right. So we went to the pub and I

00:15:32.160 was accosted by feminists at the pub. A very fat woman and a woman with a shaved head. And 1.00

00:15:39.340 the left, the left, it's their right to, to interrogate you when they see a popular conservative

00:15:47.320 in public. So I had to answer all these questions like the Spanish Inquisition. And when this happens,

00:15:53.520 it'll probably happen to you too. You just say, show me a right wing riot. And I demanded she show 1.00

00:15:59.620 me that. And she pulled up something on her phone about people demonstrating against COVID.

00:16:03.760 And it ended the night, it ended the interrogation. And she just yelled, you're a Nazi on the way out

00:16:08.960 of the pub. So Gavin, I have to ask you, um, because you started the Proud Boys kind of as a joke. I 0.75

00:16:17.060 mean, you know, like, like you just did, you know, you, you, you over the top masculinity, uh, just to,

00:16:24.040 just to really kind of hack people off. Right? Yes. Yeah. It's, it's, it's, it people say it

00:16:30.940 started as a joke and then it went out of control. No, it started as a joke. It's still a joke. Yes.

00:16:35.900 There's violence because there's violence. I mean, we're living in violence right now. That's the

00:16:40.740 era we're in. I think rich upper middle-class whites don't see the violence in their face,

00:16:45.820 but in Manhattan, if I do a talk, if, if it's Goldie doesn't talk, if Cassandra Fairbanks

00:16:51.040 is walking with her kid, there's violence. So we're happy to fight them. No one else is.

00:16:56.860 And that makes us violent. Uh, so, uh, the, the Proud Boys, if I'm not mistaken,

00:17:03.160 you refuse to go to the, uh, unite the right rally, which is the one that everybody says,

00:17:11.040 you know, Donald Trump, he said, there's good people on both sides. There were Nazis there,

00:17:15.520 but you guys weren't there, weren't you? Were you? I expected a high five after Charlottesville.

00:17:22.360 Cause I said, I don't like this Jason Kessler dude. He lied about being all right. This is

00:17:27.060 smelling like a rat. They're calling it a statues demonstration, but I feel like it's going to be

00:17:32.040 a Nazi thing. I was correct. I called it months in advance. I said, if you go to that thing, 0.91

00:17:37.340 you're out of the Proud Boys, sorry, the poor boys. Um, and that makes me hungry. Like they said,

00:17:44.260 no, there was a couple of guys there or something. And I didn't get my high five for predicting that

00:17:48.960 it was a Nazi thing. I'm at the point now where I think Charlottesville was, was a fed operation. 0.85

00:17:54.560 I think Jason Kessler was a fed. They just, it reeks of a setup and we spotted it yet. We're still

00:18:02.280 blamed for it. I did Newsmax yesterday and I had to sit there like a bad boy with my

00:18:07.320 handout and repeat. I'm not a white supremacist. I'm not a white nationalist. It's, it's this

00:18:13.520 weird anti white humiliation we have to do. Um, so Gavin, when you hear Joe Biden talk about

00:18:22.000 the one group, single out one group besides the Nazis and you weren't even there and you

00:18:28.500 were warning against it. How's that make you feel? It makes me insane. And my wife's a liberal. 1.00

00:18:37.160 She's lost all her friends. You know, she's got all these family problems because of this 0.59

00:18:42.400 lie. This, this election, this, these past four years have been Orwellian. Everything

00:18:48.580 up is down. And the fact that we're out there trying to promote, uh, you know, the first

00:18:54.240 and second amendment and American values and being called Nazis for it is just, you got

00:18:59.680 to laugh. You got to see the humor in it. We're living, we're living in the craziest time

00:19:03.280 in history, but it's also the funniest time in history. Okay. I have to tell you that

00:19:07.320 this is not something that I would ever wish on myself or anybody else, but if it happens,

00:19:12.020 it's kind of cool to be singled out as a, as the, the mullahs in Iran using something you

00:19:23.660 came up with as a joke and, and them using it to try, try to sway the election. I mean,

00:19:30.820 that's, I mean, in some ways that's kind of, I wouldn't want it to happen to me or you honestly,

00:19:35.320 but I mean, it's kind of cool that it did right. It is funny. It'll be fun to tell my grandchildren

00:19:40.920 and someone in media, you want to have influence. So it is cool that we've come up in the past

00:19:45.540 two, the only two presidential debates. That's, that's interesting, but what a clown world. And 0.96

00:19:52.660 they're not sending their best, like sending an email from proud boys. It says, we're going to

00:19:57.820 kill you if you don't vote for Trump. Obviously the FBI is going to trace those emails. Obviously 0.98

00:20:03.860 you're going to get caught. Your son left a laptop at a repair place. Could you be more amateur at this?

00:20:10.920 I think the, they're just, they're just spoiled brats. They're like monarchs. We're dealing with 1.00

00:20:15.760 the, that weird gay King in the movie Braveheart. The weird, that's a, that's might be a little 1.00

00:20:24.000 obscure, uh, you know, all these years later, but he's like the prince or something. Right. I don't,

00:20:29.780 I don't remember, but strangely I do kind of have a recollection of that. Yeah. Um, so, uh, uh,

00:20:37.020 Gavin, are you, are you voting for Donald Trump or did you vote for him last time?

00:20:44.860 I back him a thousand percent. Uh, he's going to win in a landslide. The left will contest it.

00:20:50.880 They will talk about mail-in ballots. They will contest it so much that, uh, come January 1st,

00:20:57.300 he's going to have to use the Supreme court to say, finish counting your stupid fake ballots. 1.00

00:21:01.840 We got to get to work here. And then they'll contest it for the next four years. 1.00

00:21:05.760 You know, they're going to blame you and the proud boys for anything that happens violent in the

00:21:11.880 streets. Yes. And isn't that amazing? It's been five months of writing. I count 32 deaths directly,

00:21:20.060 not, not tangentially related to the riots, but actually in the rights, 32 deaths. Uh,

00:21:25.780 it's been $3 billion worth of damage. The most in American history, 98 of the biggest hundred cities

00:21:31.220 in America have experienced rioting. Every single state has had statues destroyed. And the news,

00:21:37.300 including Fox news, by the way, is what if proud boys riot? What if they get mad? What?

00:21:43.980 They're so scared of mythical riots. It's all this. What if militia groups get mad? Why don't you look

00:21:53.760 out your window right now and look at the left wing groups that are burning the country to the

00:21:58.840 ground? How is that not a problem? They're not mostly peaceful, Michelle.

00:22:02.700 Well, Gavin, uh, I thank you for the, uh, the evidence on, uh, uh, how racist, uh, you really

00:22:12.520 are when you talk about all the deaths that, uh, BLM, uh, has caused. We all know those were COVID 0.85

00:22:17.800 deaths. Uh, yeah, those tests, by the way, those 32 deaths are mostly black and Hispanic and they're

00:22:25.380 from COVID. Nope. Uh, thank you so much, Gavin. I appreciate it. Thanks for coming on, uh, the,

00:22:36.180 uh, program and it's just gotta be surreal being you, uh, this week. I've been, I've been thinking

00:22:41.180 about you a lot. Every time I hear about the poor boys, uh, I think I get, this has gotta be surreal.

00:22:47.340 Gotta be a surreal world. Thank you so much, Gavin. Appreciate it.

00:22:50.640 This is the best of the Glenn Beck program. And we really want to thank you for listening.

00:23:06.640 A world renowned journalist, somebody who has interviewed just about every damn prime minister

00:23:12.200 on the planet, uh, every famous person on the planet, time magazines, 100 most influential people

00:23:18.900 in the world, Hollywood reporters, women in entertainment power, 100. Uh, she was on the

00:23:25.420 cover of vanity fair, only the second news anchor in history to do that. She's also practiced law

00:23:30.660 litigator for nine years, her memoir settled for more debuted at number one on the New York times.

00:23:36.560 She is also moderated five presidential debates, and that's why I wanted to have her on now. She's

00:23:42.580 also the host of a brand new podcast called the Megan Kelly show found wherever you get your

00:23:47.520 podcast. Welcome to the program, friend of the program, Megan Kelly. Hi, Megan.

00:23:54.860 Megan, Megan, are you there? Yeah, yeah. Sorry. I can hear you. Okay.

00:23:58.760 Yeah. Thank you. Um, so I, I saw you rant a bit and I want to talk to you about the debate,

00:24:06.200 but I want to start with the, the press. Have you ever seen anything like what the press is doing

00:24:14.180 right now on, uh, 60 minutes, but also Joe Biden's scandal? 0.55

00:24:21.120 No, it's disgusting. It's just, it's stomach turning, but it's just a continuation of what

00:24:27.200 we've seen over the past couple of years. They are, their Trump derangement syndrome has blinded them

00:24:33.360 to what they're doing to their own credibility. They, they can't get it back. It's too late.

00:24:40.260 They've already sacrificed it. And now no one is listening to them other than the hard partisans

00:24:47.320 for whom they craft their news. So the 60 minutes thing was really eyeopening, wasn't it?

00:24:53.120 So let's go over that. Tell me what you, tell me your takeaways on that.

00:24:57.980 So I, I'm like, uh, I watch 60 minutes. I'm like a mild fan of it. I, it's kind of stodgy and it's

00:25:05.820 pretty old school, but you know, I grew up seeing it. So you got that sort of back. And I loved Mike

00:25:10.640 Wallace. I thought he was the best ever. He's like, if you ask me who I want to be like, that's

00:25:14.540 why I want to be like Mike Wallace. But anyway, Leslie Stahl, when I watched her on the unedited 37

00:25:20.840 minutes, my main takeaway was the 60 minutes producers are so much better than we've been

00:25:25.700 giving them credit for. Like they took this woman and I'm sorry to rip on her, but who sounded

00:25:33.260 whiny and petulant and immature and biased and unprepared. And they somehow wind up slicing 0.70

00:25:41.720 and dicing it to the point where we have this image of a professional, smooth, polished,

00:25:47.620 tough interviewer. Um, but she like, I could give you 10 examples. One, one just off the top 0.85

00:25:54.120 of my head is like, she was pressing him and why he doesn't make the people who go to the

00:25:58.420 Donald Trump rallies wear masks. You're very powerful. Why, why don't you tell them? And you

00:26:04.660 know, Trump, he never hits it right on the head. He's just kind of like, Oh, I tell him, I tell him.

00:26:08.580 It's like, why didn't he look at her and say, Leslie, I'm not their daddy. They understand that

00:26:12.720 masks and social distancing are what is recommended. I don't run through the crowds and say, and you,

00:26:18.080 and you, and you, that is not my job. They're grownups. They can make their own. And just her, 1.00

00:26:23.860 her whininess on the subject betrayed her bias and hatred for Trump. Yes. But it went down the

00:26:30.380 line on every question. She also claimed that Joe Biden's not in a scandal at all. There's no

00:26:35.640 scandal. What? I tweeted out and I really believe this. It was such a meta moment. It's like, so media

00:26:42.200 refuses to cover a scandal, uh, because it's going to hurt Joe Biden. And then when the actual other

00:26:48.380 candidate says, Hey, that guy's having a scandal. Media responds with what scandal? There's no scandal.

00:26:53.860 Right. There's no scandal because you refuse to cover it. Yeah. Like there's no, right. If you,

00:26:58.900 if you don't hear the bear in the woods or whatever, however the saying goes, there is

00:27:02.920 there, there. And now we've heard it from enough witnesses who were involved in it. And the DNI

00:27:07.800 saying, this is not Russian disinformation, that the press has run out of excuses to not try to cover

00:27:12.600 it. And the only obvious explanation for it all is the one that we knew from the beginning,

00:27:17.020 which is their bias toward Biden and against Trump.

00:27:19.460 So is the information, excuse me, the information that has come out, um, right now, how would you

00:27:27.320 have covered the laptop and the information? What, what do you think is a reasonable way to cover

00:27:33.500 that now?

00:27:35.200 Well, I think you try to track down the legally blind computer repair man. I just can't, 1.00

00:27:41.580 I can't really get past that part of the store. I don't understand how you wind up in that line of

00:27:44.920 work. But anyways, you know, I'm, I'm with you. Yeah. Right. Right. So anyway, um, you track him

00:27:51.200 down, you ask him questions, you know, that, that may or may not lend credibility to the story.

00:27:55.400 You do what Fox news did. And actually what I have done as well, which is try to get the, uh,

00:28:00.320 Hunter Biden signature on, you know, when he gave the laptop, which I've seen personally. And so as

00:28:06.340 some of the inquiring media like Fox, um, you try to take a look at the emails yourself. You go

00:28:12.800 through the chain of custody to figure out how you got the emails. And then understanding that

00:28:16.060 you're not going to get that laptop. You're not going to get the original source because the FBI

00:28:19.340 has it. You disclose that to your audience. And you say, look, this is what we did to try to

00:28:24.380 satisfy ourselves. This is a real story. There is this asterisk because no one's going to be able

00:28:28.660 to see the actual laptop and let the viewers decide whether they think this is credible or not

00:28:33.300 credible. But all the time, news organizations go to press with stories that they can't

00:28:38.700 completely know are 100% bulletproof. Hello, steel dossier, right? Everything for the last five

00:28:47.860 years, everything that they have run with. Let me, um, let me take you to the, uh, to the,

00:28:54.180 the statement from NPR. Did you happen to read that? Yeah. It's outrageous. It's completely outrageous.

00:29:00.880 It is, it is saying we know better than you do. We're not going to cover this because there's

00:29:07.940 not even a story here. Well, of course there's a story there. Even if it turned out that the story

00:29:13.660 was Rudy Giuliani made that laptop out of chewing gum and, uh, and foil wrappers, that's a story.

00:29:21.300 But for them to say there's no story, especially at this time, my question is,

00:29:26.360 did Donald Trump do enough? And, and, and, and how do you combat when half of the country is getting

00:29:36.680 their news and vast portions of what's really going on are just gone? How do you break through?

00:29:44.220 And did he do enough to at least incite some curiosity on, wait, what is he even talking about?

00:29:50.880 Well, first and foremost, NPR gets federal tax dollars. So it's just, it's really outrageous that

00:29:55.160 they, they should be so openly biased and show absolutely zero interest to actually investigate

00:30:00.240 major facts in a presidential race. Shame on them. But I do think this race is in large,

00:30:09.020 in large ways between Donald Trump and the media. And I think they completely declared against him.

00:30:15.280 And it's really hard for him to break through because I think a lot of independents, those are

00:30:19.780 the only persuadables. Maybe some working class Democrats are, they watch CNN thinking this is the

00:30:25.080 news. Like this is, I'm getting the news. They know what they watch MSNBC. They're getting left,

00:30:29.500 left wing bias. But I think there's still a hangover reputation for CNN that it might just be real news

00:30:35.740 instead of MSNBC under different call letters. And so if I were Trump, if I, you know, if I were advising

00:30:41.500 Trump, I would have said, Mr. President, before you go out there tonight, you have to assume they don't

00:30:46.160 know anything about this. People are living their lives. They're not obsessing about Hunter Biden.

00:30:50.200 Trust me. So if you want to make this point, you're going to have to, you're going to have to sort of

00:30:53.600 forgive the term, dumb it down so that people who aren't steeped in news can get it and can get it

00:30:58.740 easily. Like, let me tell you, members of the American public, this guy's as corrupt as they 0.96

00:31:03.940 come. He says he had no business dealings with his son, Hunter, who's deeply troubled. Well, he has.

00:31:09.580 And now we know because of a laptop that Hunter Biden gave to some repairman and never picked up

00:31:15.720 that Hunter Biden was cutting deals in Ukraine. He was trying to cut deals in China, some of which

00:31:20.960 looped Joe Biden in as a monetary participant, some of which looped him in as just the guy who

00:31:26.860 needed to do something so Hunter could get paid while Biden was vice president. Either way you

00:31:31.860 look at it, it's totally corrupt. And the media blackout of the story shows you, American people,

00:31:36.600 that it's you and me working against them. Well, he didn't do that. But that would have been very,

00:31:44.440 very, very good. But he didn't he didn't do that. You have done the complex stuff. You are you have

00:31:53.320 done five presidential debates. This, I think, was the best moderator yet of these debates. But can

00:32:02.020 you tell me, as I look, they were supposed to talk about foreign policy. But of course, nobody wants

00:32:06.380 to talk about foreign policy because what's going on in the Middle East, which is miraculous what's

00:32:10.720 happened in the Middle East. But as you look at that, it was COVID, which they covered ad nauseum,

00:32:17.840 the first debate and the second debate. There was no foreign policy and everything was really kind of

00:32:25.340 playing towards Biden's POV. Of course. So is that the moderator's responsibility?

00:32:34.240 Yes. I mean, I agree with you that she was the best so far. And I like Kristen Welker. I knew a little

00:32:39.260 when I worked at NBC and I think she's a stand up person. I think she managed the two candidates as

00:32:44.800 well as anyone could. Yeah. But I do think some of her left wing bias was reflected in the overwhelming 0.98

00:32:51.780 number of times she interrupted Trump instead of Biden. And in the topic selection, I mean, why wouldn't

00:32:57.460 we be talking about what's happening in the Middle East or Afghanistan? And instead, once again, back to

00:33:03.980 Black Lives Matter and race, I mean, this is like the the left is obsessed. They are obsessed with

00:33:10.480 pigmentation and genitalia. It's like everything is seen through the lens of like lady parts and 0.91

00:33:18.940 pigmentation. I'm sick of it. It's like we've covered this now. It's so many debates. I can't

00:33:23.040 believe she didn't ask him the you've refused to condemn. I know. I know. But she got around to,

00:33:28.080 you know, like you said, the stuff about Black Lives Matter. Again, not a question to Joe Biden about

00:33:31.840 where's his condemnation for Antipa, which actually is causing riots in the streets right now.

00:33:36.780 So it is frustrating to me as somebody who's more in the middle, the way the news media approaches.

00:33:42.760 Forget Donald Trump, he's controversial, but just Republicans in general. But I thought

00:33:46.900 understanding that the bias is baked in, she did about as well as you could expect from somebody

00:33:51.100 who's, you know, probably leaning over that way. Do you believe the polls?

00:33:54.460 Not really. Not really. I have to say I, in general, I do. And so I have a history of believing

00:34:03.700 them. But I think we learned through Trump last year that there's real reason to doubt them when

00:34:08.760 Donald Trump is involved. So what do you think? What do you think is going to happen?

00:34:12.300 Well, let me tell you something, Glenn. If you look at where Joe Biden is polling today,

00:34:16.100 versus where Hillary Clinton was polling on this exact same date, 0.95

00:34:19.780 four years ago, she was polling better than Joe Biden is in virtually every swing state,

00:34:27.820 virtually all of them versus Donald Trump. And she lost the race. So don't let anyone tell you

00:34:33.280 that just because Joe Biden is polling ahead, even in the swing states, he's got this thing locked up.

00:34:38.680 He doesn't. And I actually think there's even more reason this time around to doubt the polls than

00:34:43.460 the last time, because people have been more shamed than ever to say that they like Donald Trump.

00:34:50.600 People are getting kicked out of their sororities for saying that they're getting their hands slapped

00:34:54.300 on Twitter. Their companies are getting they're getting fired if they like a tweet that is controversial

00:34:59.660 about Black Lives Matter. Like our whole society has cracked down on freedom of opinion. And I think

00:35:05.540 they're more afraid than ever to say how they really feel when they go in that voting booth. It's between

00:35:09.860 them and their God. And if I had to put money on it right now, I would put money on Trump.

00:35:15.720 But it's anybody's ballgame.

00:35:17.840 Last question, Megan, when you look at what is what's coming, it could go either way.

00:35:26.100 I tend to agree with you that it's going to go Trump's way. But we know that the left has planned.

00:35:33.500 I mean, they announced that they had 200 organizations already ready for protests if Donald Trump wins.

00:35:39.180 How is that going to come down? What is the press going to do if he wins?

00:35:45.960 I mean, I think, you know, the answer to that question, right there. It's going to be a calamity.

00:35:51.480 It's going to be, you know, it's going to be like Adolf Hitler. It was put into the Oval Office by an 0.87

00:35:56.860 American public that doesn't care at all about anybody in any minority group. And you're going 0.83

00:36:01.780 to see anchors openly shedding tears on election night. Whereas if Biden wins, Republicans will suck 1.00

00:36:06.400 it up and move on. I mean, that's just that's the way people are built in this country. We've seen it

00:36:10.860 happen enough times. Whoever wins, half the country will tune out from traditional media for the next

00:36:16.360 few months. And I actually believe based on my own history that they'll come to people like you,

00:36:21.240 like me, they'll come to podcasts where they can hear smart cultural discussions that aren't

00:36:26.100 necessarily all politics, either for soothing, for a soothing balm and an escape, or just to hear like

00:36:33.540 a smart take on what the country may be going through at that time. So I think it'll be good for

00:36:37.460 podcasters, you know, like, like me and like you. And I mean, you're more than a podcaster, but

00:36:41.420 we're all we all do the same. We all shoveling the same crap every day. I'd love to be a lot of 0.99

00:36:49.640 tears, a lot of tears, a lot of playing up of anything that's dramatic on television.

00:36:53.620 Megan, I appreciate you and your point of view and being on the program. I'd love to have you on

00:36:57.300 again, because you said something yesterday, you tweeted, it's fun being outside corporate media.

00:37:01.800 And I would love to unpack that with you. But I'm out of time this time. Hope to have you on again.

00:37:06.280 Thank you so much, Megan. You bet. She is the host of the Megan Kelly show now on podcast,

00:37:13.340 and you can find it wherever you get your podcasts.
